So we're going to start this show with some March madness and one of the wildest endings in NCAA tournament history. Duke, the overall top-seated team in the tournament, was on the verge of making their second straight trip to the final four, but tricked off a 19-point first half lead to Yukon. I'm not going to lie. We love to see it. Sorry, Duke fan. Why? Whatever. I wanted them to win.

You wanted Duke to win? I mean, I wanted them to win so we can whip their ass in championship. So it's like redemption. But if they can't make it, they can't make it. Not everybody going to be there. But Devils were up. The Blue Devils were up by two with 10 seconds remaining in the game when this happened. So Yukon Silas, Demery, Jr.

made one or two free throws with 10 seconds left the cut Duke's lead to two. On the Blue Devils in suing possession, Cam Boozer received an in-mouth pass out of a double team. The Dave Sar, Sarr passed it to the Cam Swinbrother, Kaden, Boozer, and their half. court. He got double team. He ended up losing the ball. Brampton. Mellons and Demery came through with the trap. You go into a passive mode and you want to start running offense, but that's not how you got. The lead, but this is the tournament, so it's not like anybody's going to ever quit. They're going to keep coming. The team did. Once you miss a few shots, doubt starts kicking in, right? The other team starts in weakness, and, you know, you have situations like this where, you know, in hindsight, you can say it, why are you trying to pass it, you know, up court? I mean, you know, there's two people down there.

So if he did get it, and that's what you're taught to do. Yeah, if you get it there, you know, the game's over, easy bucket. You know, unfortunately, you know, he's kind of like a small guard, and they got a hand on it. So, you know, he becomes the villain in the situation. And, you know, it still takes a great shot, deep shot, NBA shot from a player who's 0. And four, who's 0.4 from the 3. So, you know, I mean, a lot of things had to go right for the other team.

A lot of things had to go wrong, and it happened. Right. Everything that went wrong, went wrong at the right time. For Yukon. For Yukon. And we got a championship. We... Do you think?

Like, what's your reaction to Duke's epic meltdown in the elite? Um... I was kind of sad for the loser twins. I kind of liked them. You know, they got like the aura around them. Wanted to see them do good. First time I ever was rooting for a... a dupe the win. So I started watching for a little bit when they was up. I thought they had the game.

I got them in my bracket going to the championship. But I seen that. That kind of happened to us in the elite eight to North Carolina was up 20 at the half. End up losing. So this type of stuff hurts. I felt for them just not tall enough. I was just I don't know. I don't know what you do. You hold it or you see your man wide open. You do want to pass. That's your reaction to pass. You don't think to hold it.

So I don't know what I would have did right there. Faker pass, make a pass. I don't want to get filed. Get some extra points. If I got the ball, I'm going to hold it. Let me get my two points. If I'm down there. But if I'm down there, pass me the ball.

I start getting my two points. What if you get foul? They don't call it sometimes in those situations, and you lose the ball and shit go out on you. It happens. So I get it. Well, let's shift over to this side of the couch. Can you wish your reaction to Duke's epic meltdown,

Elite 8, losing to Yukon? I don't look at it as a meltdown. I just look at it as Yukon kept playing. Right? You're not going to steal time on the clock. So my possession at a time, man. Fight back, claw back, and... Yeah, at times it seems as Duke was playing not to lose the game instead of to continue to win the game, but you couldn't care playing.

So that's what I saw. I saw a team that was there before, a coach that's been there, I'm saying? So been in every scenario possible, and this was just another situation that they would put themselves in. And the only way to get out of is to keep playing. And they did that. So, yeah, no, it's a situation where you. You are fundamentally as a guard, you're taught to advance the ball, the situation. You look ahead.

You're being trapped. Throw the ball ahead. Advance the ball. That's what you're being, that's what you're taught. Make them scramble in the back court like they were doing. Just unfortunate, man. Yukon was going to do everything they could to get their hands on the ball. And they were trying to play keep away.

It just didn't. Hey, they didn't. The defense made a better play in that moment. So I tell me. I had to you can to keep playing and didn't, didn't, down 19, didn't waiver. We put ourselves in this hole, so we got to get ourselves out of it. And to Gil's point, everything that could go wrong, went wrong for Duke, and everything went right, went right for Yukon.

Shall I shift over to you? Um, Tobacco Road has been poorly. represented this tournament, I believe. Both Carolina and Duke showed that the name on the jersey has taken them farther than the coaches. I think that both teams are poorly coached throughout the tournament. I think that when you're up 19, you know, we stated earlier as far as, you know, doing what you need to do that got you the lead, sustaining that. It's a game of runs. You know that if you go up 10, 12, 15, the other team's going to make a run.

They're going to hopefully try to sustain all of the little things that you're doing to get up. But Duke has a history of playing basketball a certain way when they're up. And they like to hold the ball. And they like to basically play keep away until the shot clock goes down and try to make a play. But in this instant, they didn't have anybody that could actually go get them a bucket that's not just going to sit there and pound against. damn brick wall and try to throw the ball up and boozer so you look at yukon like you said they they battled back they knew that they was against all lives at this point so they needed to make runs they needed to get stops but when the only thing you have to do is get the ball in it's like

when you're a good coach and you know that you've already fucked the game up all the way down to this point the only thing you need to do hey get the ball in they're going to foul us now to what you said I was a young, they never been in a situation. A freshman. So go ahead. The coach. He has, but they have it.

Yeah, so leadership. Leadership at the top. It starts at the top. You tell them all day. Like I said, get the ball in. The referee's going to get us the foul. We're going to go to the line. We're going to do what we need to do.
