Starting point is 00:02:03 What did Minnesota expose About the Denver defense Jada McDaniels have some thoughts we will discuss. The Jays led the Souters to a blowout win over the Sixers in game one. Does the East run through Boston? Pistons tricked off game ones. Southerers looking mighty, mighty good out there. They might be headed back to the finals.

Starting point is 00:03:31 We're going to talk about it. But you can't watch the show live with us on YouTube. We have audio versions available on Al. Apple, Spotify, wherever you get your podcast. We got to talk about another game first. Nuggets bounced back from a 10-point first quarter deficit to take down the Wolves in game one of their first round series. Paced by Yolkits' 22nd career playoff triple double
Starting point is 00:03:49 and Jamal Murray's 30 piece on 7 of 22 shooting, which included him going a perfect 16 for 16 from the line. The Wolf shot 19 total free throws while the Nuggets got to the charity strike 33 times in the win. So after that game, Wolf's head coach Chris Finch was vocal about his issue. issues with the officiating, calling Murray's 16 free throws a head scratcher and later saying maybe his team ought to start flopping too. The whistle tightened up in game two, but early on the wolves looked like they were headed
Starting point is 00:04:17 for another loss. Denver came out on fire in the first quarter going on the 17-0 run to build a 14-point lead after the first frame. The wolves turned it up offensively in the second frame to take a lead, so we pick up the action late in the second quarter. If we can't please, time running out. Jamal Murray put an exclamation point on the first half hitting a hit a hit Half quarter. As the buzzer to tie the game at 64, Murray had 23 points in the first half.
Starting point is 00:04:40 He was 5 for 7 from deep. Finish the game with a team high 30 points on 11 for 25 shooting, along with seven rebounds and 7 assists. Yolkich only had six points in the first half, but got to work in the third quarter, scoring 16 to help give the Nuggets a three-point lead heading into the final frame doing things like that. A lot of that you may notice will Rudy Gobert, not on the court. Mmm. A little foreshadowing if I can. The nice hook right there. And Gobert, Nautilkirk.
Starting point is 00:05:10 So, Jogger finished 24 points, 15 rebounds. Dimes. Wolf stayed within striking distance in the fourth quarter. And on this play right here, Jada McDaniels, dunk with under five minutes remaining, gave them the lead. With the wolves up, too, with a little over two minutes left to go. And missed a fadeaway,
Starting point is 00:05:29 but Rudy Goberer got the rebound dunked on Yolkutche's head, put Minnesota up for. Then with the Wolves O'1, Dante DiVincenzo hit a big three with about a minute remaining. The winner back up for her. Hey! First time. Yolkis returned the favor to go bare, going poster for poster.
Starting point is 00:05:45 Then Ant Man Travel was a little over 30 seconds remaining. Give it up two. Yolkis had the chance to shoot the floater, but passed the Christian Brown, fouled on the play. Put that man that spot, man. Brown missed the first free throw, knocked down the second. And with the Nuggets, down three, their final possession.
Starting point is 00:06:04 DeMont Murray opted not to shoot a three, took a 20-footer miss. White Dante got the rebound, kicked it ahead of Julius Randall. Got the ball back. The emphatic dunk to seal the win. Amman finished with 30 points and 10 rebounds on 10 to 25 shooting. Julius Randall had 24-9 boards and 6 assists.
Starting point is 00:06:19 Dante DiVincenzo had 16 going 4 for 7 from deep. Bones Highland, 13 points in 10 minutes of action against his former team. He was 3 for 4 from 3. Yolkich and Jamal Murray had four total points in the fourth quarter. You heard that right. Four total points combined. They were two for 12 in that fourth quarter. The Wolf's 19-point comeback, second largest in franchise history since 1998, the largest this season.
Starting point is 00:06:44 So I can we want to start with you. What are the biggest takeaways from the Wolf's game to win over the Nuggets? Ant Man. Really? For me, looking at his game, not to say everybody was bawling, but just pointing out, Ant Man's game, he could do it all. I think for me he's the best all-around player in the NBA. That's what the greatness look like.
Starting point is 00:07:14 Athletic, could shoot, got a high motor, play both ends on the both ends. Don't back down toughness. If you was looking for like a star, he embodies that. But I just like the way Devin Denshinichens just stepped up, Daniels, go burr, and he embodies. Go Burr, even when, even though I think that was his only two points in the game. There's only two points in the game. It's one of the biggest is two points in the game, you know. And Minnesota always give Denver a tough battle because they got bigs they could throw at Joker, for sure.
Starting point is 00:07:56 Let's move on to you, Mr. B. And man, obviously dealing with runners' knee was limited towards the end of the season. Looked a little labor in game one, said he was fatigued, said he was fine after this game. But this move on to you, Mr. B. What are your biggest takeaways from the wolves getting big game to win in Denver to even the series of? I got to go with the T. Wolves' defense in the fourth quarter, Rudy. The fact that Jamal, Mary and Yokic was 2 for 12 in the fourth quarter, when Rudy was guarding, Yokic, he was one for eight.
Starting point is 00:08:26 So that, you know, you got to tap their head off to Rudy and their defense. But also, the wolves were, they had six guys in double figures in scoring also. Dante was a plus 20, which was crazy. And they just wanted it more. That's a good, this is a good road win. This is a team that they saw last year, last year or a couple of years or whatever. You're 2024? Yeah, they beat him.
Starting point is 00:08:50 So, you know, they feel like they got their number. Yolkich put, put, oh boy in the bad spot towards the end of the game, which that is a shot that he usually makes and takes. Because if that was LeBron or somebody else like that, we would be killing him. So, you know, that game I got to put on Yokech. Like you mentioned, Wolf's 19-point comeback, their biggest since overcoming a 20-point deficit, I believe in Game 7 of that 20-24 series. Evenchino, four-threes in the game,
Starting point is 00:09:16 hit that big three, put them up for. Ant Man said that Dante has gorilla nuts after the game. Plus 20. He said he has gorilla nuts. That's what he said after the game. Let's shift over to this side of the couch. And your biggest takeaways from the wolves getting that game to win over the Nuggets in Denver.
Starting point is 00:09:33 I just kept grinding, man. I honestly thought them was going to put them away, right? Got up big in the first, the way it was going. I thought they were going to put them away, scored 39 in the first quarter. I'm at home to am. You can't give up 40 on the road. Not to this team, not in this building. No, but they scratched and clawed and like, I understand certain rest happens during the regular season.
Starting point is 00:10:03 So it was coaching early that allowed Minnesota to get back in the game in the second quarter. I think he left Nicole out too long. They got on the run and it was tough to get it back. Minnesota gained their confidence by the end. Late game situations. Yeah, I know, I mean, I'd be on Rudy ass, man, but he played good. I was, I was on it. I'd be on his ass about his defense and trust me.
Starting point is 00:10:34 But he showed up in the clutch minutes. I'm saying when his team needed him. Made some hell of a defensive stops, man, on Nicola. Made it tough on him. Made Nicola do things he wasn't comfortable with doing. Throwing different looks at him. Had a bad turnover late. The pastor Christian Brown was put him in the bad spot.
Starting point is 00:10:56 But yeah, no, you got to give teams a certain look. Man, if you don't notice what they were doing as a coaching staff, As far as what Minnesota, how Minnesota was attacking them, that's why I asked before the show, are teams afraid to go zone, right? I think Denver was primed to go zone a few possessions in the fourth quarter offense because they couldn't get no stops.
Starting point is 00:11:18 Minnesota scored, what, 10 straight possessions at one point? Yeah. Can't let the team score 10 straight possessions and you don't switch anything up defensively. That's recipe for losing, as you can see. But now, shout out to Minnesota, man, for going on the road and the old cliche scene, series doesn't start until somebody wins on the road.
Starting point is 00:11:42 So we have a series, right? We have a series. And the last few years, Minnesota has proven to you guys point that they play Denver well. They're not afraid of them. No matter what Nicola has done in his individual approach and Jamal Murray, Minnesota's not afraid of them. So it should be a good series.
Starting point is 00:12:03 Let's move on to you, Dr. McCam's PhD. Look like you're about to get surgical. Oh, yeah. Okay. No, I'm proud. It's a proud moment because I know it took a lot for you to do that. No, I didn't take a lot. You didn't take a lot.
Starting point is 00:12:17 You know, I'm honest. Took a little bit. I'm honest. Took a little bit, though. No, no. He played well. He did. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:25 But at times they, when they went, but so him being in foul trouble benefited them in the third quarter because they went small, right? And when small, the spread of the mouth Was I don't know how to guard them Yeah, so but they were they spread the floor And they sort of benefited but to your point No, it didn't take much for me to know I'm making sure
Starting point is 00:12:42 I recognize what's not We go out Yeah absolutely No no no I don't think he's just trust me Don't be wrong I don't think he's four time defensive I got you No no don't get no
Starting point is 00:12:52 But he plays some defense He did last listen Play some defense He took it personal He was upset at the files he got So you absolutely But yeah No it didn't take a lot though
Starting point is 00:13:00 I bad I go into a lot of my assessment as far as scouting report wise of what occurred after game one, right? All those files for Jamal Murray, you know, how are we going to approach game two and change the dynamic of how we are going to engage them in their offensive sets.
Starting point is 00:13:20 And I remember we talked about certain teams playing against Denver. I was talking about the spurs and how they would play giving up both Browns shooting corner shots, giving up. Gordon being able to shoot those shots. I think this game changed a lot because they play without fouling. And if I'm a coach, I'm actually going into this game saying, listen, we got to be more into Joker. We've got to play without fouling on the guards. And when we do switch on Jamal Murray in that late picking roll, we got a switch to make him actually drive
Starting point is 00:13:51 to the cup all the way and not settle for his stepback. And I think they did that. And I think also Jay McDaniel did a great job of getting in front of that screen or getting around that screen off of the snake, making sure that he stays attached into the pick and rolls. I feel like they made their adjustments when you talk about rotations, complete rotations down to Aaron Gordon at Ducker, and they rebound it. I mean, at the end of the day, you want to be able to rebound and give yourself a second chance at scoring on a run. Being down 19, you look at how we get these stops and how we, when you're down 19, the one
Starting point is 00:14:29 thing you do as a team is you don't get down on yourself because you know it's a game of runs. And when it's a game of runs, it's one stop at a time. And every stop is how do we capitalize on the other end? What are we doing to execute our offense? Jay McDaniels gave us the blueprint. He said, listen, we're going to attack them. We're going to attack Joker. We're going to attack Murray. We're going to attack Cam Johnson. We're going to attack Aaron Gordon. We're going to make sure they play defense on the other end. And for me, it looked like they kind of gassed out, knowing that they were going to be attacked. And Minnesota played a perfect game
Starting point is 00:15:03 when it comes down to being down 19 exactly how you should attack them and make them play on their heels. And at the end of the game, you could say Joker made a mistake, but I think coming down 19, you know, you giving up the game early. The game was lost before Joker made that play.
Starting point is 00:15:20 Oh, yeah, no, I ain't put it. For sure. He just put the teammate in the bad spot. And they jumped Jamal Murray late on the picking roll. He had the bad turnover, too. And I was saying they should have been doing that. They jumped him late and wanted to pick him.
Starting point is 00:15:32 And Brown still got to fucking shoot through. He got to make them free throws regardless, put them in the bad spot or not. True. You got to hit that shit. So, kudos to Minnesota. Still and one on the road, like you said. The series don't start until you went on the road. And I think that gives them a boost of confidence.
Starting point is 00:15:48 You still got to deal with Joker coming in doing what he do best. But Rudy is filling kudos. He's feeling himself right now as far as showing that defense's intensity. So Yolkis said he probably should have took the floater instead of passing the Christian Brown. He kind of regretting that play. But let's talk a little bit more about Rudy. Four-time defensive play of the year, also been prone to being played off the court in the postseason. So came up big in the fourth quarter of game two, shutting down the three-time MVP in Yokit.
Starting point is 00:16:14 So Ant Man had high praise for the Wolf's defensive anchor. He's a four-time defensive player for a year for a reason. He's been doing it at a high level for a long time, and we need him on the floor. That's why I challenged them at the end of the third. Because, I mean, Yolch is what, maybe four-time MVP, three-time. What is he? They got three MVPs, but, like, Yolch's got four defensive player. I mean, Rudy got four defensive player a year for a reason, man.
Starting point is 00:16:36 Like, he can guard. So I think people got to start respecting him, you know, putting some respect on his name. And that's what we do, man. We trust him. I told him, like, bro, we ain't bringing no double team. You're going guard him one-on-one all night and stop filing. Like, stop going for the reaching, and, you know,
Starting point is 00:16:51 because he's going to flop, and they're going to call a foul. So just play him straight up. If you make a shot over, you're cool. That's what he do. He gets paid to make those shots. So let's guard, Rudy, let's go. Let's go. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:17:02 Yokic, one for eight, with four points when Gobert was on the floor. Seven for 12 with 20 points when Gobert was off the floor. So Mr. B, we'll start with you. Would it Rudy Gobert show you defensively in games here? That he can take on the challenge. I mean, he is a four-time defensive player of the year. But this is still a long series. So let's not act like, you know, Yolki.
Starting point is 00:17:26 You know, he didn't have a triple double last game. I mean, first game he did have a triple double. So he still has a lot of work to do. But yes, he did play well. He did play very well in the fourth quarter. But, you know, game three, game four, we know Yokin's is still coming. So we'll see. The challenge is up for him.
Starting point is 00:17:50 So I can go where to go, Bear show you, on the defensive side in that game, appear to really step up and brace the challenge of shutting down Yokkish, especially in that fourth quarter. Like B said, they stepped up to the challenge, and he stayed disciplined to not reaching and fly, you know, going for getting foul, getting into foul trouble. You just stayed disciplined and played hard. You're going to make a shot.
Starting point is 00:18:12 Joker is one of the best I'm making shots then. One thing you can't do is put your head down and get less motivated, because you ain't going to stop Joker from a scoring. But as long as you stop joking from doing the other things, I feel like. And just staying aggressive, being physical with them, you can slowly break them down towards four quarters. You better listen to Ant Man. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:36 Appreciate Ant Man's advice to him. We're not saying them to them. Right. No, that gives, listen, if nothing else, it gave Rudy confidence, right? Man. And it helps the team when you don't have to, the end's point, you don't have to double, you don't have to dig, right? when you can play him straight up, whether you make it or he miss it, right?
Starting point is 00:18:55 Man, as long as you making each possession tough, so we ain't got to overhelp and now he's getting 15 assists, that's what Ant mean. We can stay one-on-one. We all are hell of a perimeter defenders. We can stay one-on-one. Now stay with our man. We need you to do the same.
Starting point is 00:19:14 So that's the message. So now, shout out to Ant-Man for having the confidence in his guy for expressing it to him. I'm saying, letting him know like, hey, we know you can guard him, man. Hey, go out and do it and stay your ass down on, stop reaching. Told him all the right things to do. So it's just going out and going out and doing it. But we all know that he's going to get 50, 60 touches in the game, right? Make as tough as possible as you can, man.
Starting point is 00:19:41 Just eliminate it because you're going to get a foul or two because he's so aggressive, right? So eliminate the mental fouls that you, the reaching, where you're, You know you can't get it over the backs. You can't afford those if you're Rudy, right? The dumb files out on the perimeter and the pick and roll. You jump out there trying to steal a ball on the perimeter. You got to say that one, right? Because you're going to need it.
Starting point is 00:20:04 Yeah. Right? So no, shut out. Yeah. I've been saying it, you know, wee, we, French toast. Man, French fries the whole nine. We go out there, we play hard, play smart. And I think Aunt showed that they played together.
Starting point is 00:20:23 Because that kind of leadership, it does, like you said, gives you confidence as a defender when you got other guys depending on your defense. And that's what I always loved about the defensive end, is when you got camaraderie of people believing that you can do what you do best, and you know that. So for him to play man up against Rudy in the post, right? I mean, against Joker in the Post. You're looking at guys saying, listen, man, we're not coming down there to help you,
Starting point is 00:20:50 but we're going to dig. We're going to dig on the second dribble. We're going to do what we need to do to distract him, but you're on your own. And we believe that when you do play one-on-one defense on the post and you don't file and you seven-foot something, all you got to do is slide your feet, keep your hands up, make him shoot over top of you. Now, you've got to be an exceptional fucking offensive player to score on Rudy Gobert possession after possession and not get no pushback.
Starting point is 00:21:19 And I think that's the percentages now. You play your percentages as a defensive player. Can he score 60, 70% of the time on me when I'm playing solid defense? He can score about 40%, but we're going to take the 40 over to 70. And we're going to live with that as a coach and as a team. And Edman is telling him like, look, man, you play defense like this with us. We're living with this. If he give us 24, 15, and we can win the game, we're solid.
Starting point is 00:21:49 We can't have him 35, 19. and 19, that's not going to help us. So I really appreciate Rudy taking the challenge. I appreciate Ant-Man showing the leadership that they got its back. It's a good way to save him. And another thing, I don't even, I don't think Rudy knows how to play post-defense, like, properly. Yeah. He's just seven to.
Starting point is 00:22:11 He's just there. He's long-in-old, and he moves well. He moves, but I don't think he understands, like, the technical. Yeah, the body, how to engage in the body. and shit. You can see it. It's all these things. No, trust, hey.
Starting point is 00:22:24 You can see it. Listen, he take every bump with his chest. Nicola bagging him down. He takes every bump with his chest when you don't have to. You don't have to give ground. It's just certain things in the post where you allow to do defensively. Yeah. That I see game in, game out, game in, game out from bids, wings, guards.
Starting point is 00:22:43 Don't nobody understand how to play post. It's very few guys that understand all the tools you have in your disposal in post. Yep. Right? But think about it. How many times have you seen somebody throw it in the post? They threw it to him all the time.
Starting point is 00:22:57 To Joker? Yes. Fuck, yes. In the NBA, I know they're going to throw it to the joke. But Joker brings it up, too. Like most bigs now bring it up. And they're posting guys up. There are post-ups in every single NBA game.
Starting point is 00:23:10 It's who can actually post up. That's all. That's good. That's the thing, yes. It may be three. There are. So to your point, yeah. Who can actually post us.
Starting point is 00:23:21 The teams that run plays for actual post-ups, yes. But the teams that do post guys and young, they don't know how to play post-dea. Somebody yesterday asked for a charge. Which game was it? Backing him down, he just took the shit with his chest. Was it the Atlanta game? Is it a Caminga?
Starting point is 00:23:40 Yeah, it was. Backing him down, he just took the shit with his chest. Against Carl Anthony Town. And tried to get it. Like, no, dude. Stay solid. Stay solid. Stay solid.
Starting point is 00:23:49 You just back him down. You took it with your chest and tried to. to flop and look for a tar like no dude that's no no so it's still like that i'm watching during the game i'm like and that's cat going back to the post against a small knowing knowing i can do this he don't know how to guard this down here as soon as he catch it like doing your work early they're doing they're doing it early but they don't know how to defend him once he catch it right not teaching it either because like he's like he's like he's not a lot of guys playing in the post anyway so it's like not teaching how to throw a post pass shit man fake up to throw down yeah yeah
Starting point is 00:24:21 It's only one or two people. Yeah, but like I said, if he wasn't seven to and good, like he got good instincts, but he'll be a lot worse off if he wasn't seven to. But if he learned, listen, if he really learned how to play post-D against Nicole, he'll do a lot. He'll do great last night. Because you could take away a lot of stuff from him. He'll do a lot.
Starting point is 00:24:40 But you can. Absolutely. Absolutely. And I wish that that was more for Nas Reed, because I feel Nas is more athletic. He has a lot more upside defensively when you're talking about moving than Roe's. Rudy do, but he don't know how to contest late. He don't know how, yeah, he liked to reach. He don't use them.
Starting point is 00:24:57 Right. He don't know how to contest when it all goes up. All just get back down. Yeah, you see it. And getting the clip right at his chest, boom, boom. Man, he's with his chest. Man, the other way here. Yeah, I know.
Starting point is 00:25:11 So the thing about it, right, so what I'm saying is, right? Big motherfucker. So in the post, right, I'm just as entitled to this space as you are offensive. Okay. I don't have to give ground. Yeah. So how should he play him if he's playing post-D? See, you can put your hand on, can't you?
Starting point is 00:25:30 You got two hands, you can go arm bar and hand. You do this or this? Both. You can do one in one. Okay. You can have a bent, you can have this and a bent. Okay. Depending on what side he on.
Starting point is 00:25:41 I'm never doing, so most guys where they fuck up at, if they do do it, they lean like this on the baseline side. He's going to screw. Yeah. On the right block, I just do a shack. Shack J. Joker loved that. Every time. Me, I got this on the baseline side.
Starting point is 00:25:57 Okay. Force in the middle. I can feel you when you're getting ready to, if I grab here on the baseline side, no matter what side you're on, I can hold in your side so you can't spin off on me. As soon as you get ready, if you do go, I release and strip. Mm-hmm. Okay. Same hand.
Starting point is 00:26:16 Okay. You go to spin and you turn, whatever, if you get ready to turn, whatever, if you're getting ready to turn the shoe baseline, I'm going to try, I'm a releasing strip every single time. But guys, at my position, right, I was small for my position. I'm 230, right? On a good day, I played at 230. Most fours and fives, I played against the 250, 60, 70, big guys. So I had to learn certain techniques in the post.
Starting point is 00:26:44 That's one of them. I'm going to fight you. I'm going to give you this. I'm going to pull a chair on you. I'm going to play a mind game with you. So when you catch it, you're thinking on, oh shit, what the fuck? I'm reaching for the ball. If you do catch you, right, I'm going to reach through.
Starting point is 00:27:01 I'm going to give you this look. Right? But this is here. Reach through. You hit your chest and you fall in and you do that. See, I'm going to put a chair on you. I'm going to fight. I'm going to get you off your spot.
Starting point is 00:27:14 I'm going to fight you hard as shit. I'm going to make you feel like this niggas been strong and shit with me. I'm going to make you do. soon as you, I'm a move. Okay. Right? It's like, it's a pride thing. Ultimately, like, you feel me being strong with you, what you want to do with me.
Starting point is 00:27:29 I want to get strong about it? So I win already, right? Yeah. So it's shit. It's just like I do right that. It's just. But here on the baseline side, I'm never going here on the baseline. Do a spin every time.
Starting point is 00:27:39 Sangu and do it the best. Okay. Soon as he feels, don't spin. Every side. That shit. It's this shit. And you're going to get a foul because it looked like he pushed you. Also, that hand got to be fucking strong.
Starting point is 00:27:49 Yeah, but yeah, so I'm grabbing you. You better be, yeah. No, but I'm saying, like, you know, he better be doing some of these, because this right here. And I can feel when you get ready, like, you can't do nothing in the post without. Yeah, see, but.
Starting point is 00:28:00 Soon as you get ready to turn. The difference with Joker, those. I'm here. I got it. I love the short elbows. I got it with this. He loved to, he loved to, he loved to spin off. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:28:09 To use those, right? But then, to his credit, he liked the strip, right? Yeah. There's a lot of other, the other bigs that was back then, love to reach. to see you with the chest. So instead of stripping, you're trying to bulldoze.
Starting point is 00:28:24 I got one bump with the chest that can straighten you up. Now I get to contest. Like, his thing was, I believe you got a greater chance to contest after all of this shit. If you go up, stripping and contest. And I'm going to get you. So it's all about contested shots. Like, if you got contested shots at the end of the day, that's the best form of defense is contesting the shot because I got a better chance of you missing than just letting you.
Starting point is 00:28:49 go up and shoot that bitch, let me contest. And the best thing you can do for yourself is doing your work early. I was just about to say that. Trying not. I was just about to say that. That's what I was going to say. I'm like, you're doing your work, you're bumping him. He's not getting to that box easy.
Starting point is 00:29:02 By the time he gets it. You know, talk to me that? You know who talks to me? He brings it. Okay, so how would he do that? That's the best guy. I never really get it talking. Doing my work early and meeting the motherfucker early?
Starting point is 00:29:13 Tim Duncan, right? So how would you guard him today though? Yeah. If Yoke. Yoke is just coming down with the ball. How would you guard that? He's doing me a better. If he's on the perimeter, he's doing me a favor.
Starting point is 00:29:25 Why is that? If he's, I don't know, if he's facing me. Yeah, like he's coming down off the rebound. He's coming down. Then he gets to that side. Then he's doing all this. I'm going to take the ball from him. Like, I'm just, because don't nobody be reaching for it.
Starting point is 00:29:38 They let him. They let him. Yeah, you already said you're a swiper or so. I'm watching the game yesterday. I need Carl Anthony Town's doing the door to cross over right in front of him. Right in front of him. I'm like, yo, put your head. I'm not here.
Starting point is 00:29:49 It's like, no, you're not going to play with the one thing for sure, dog. You're going to ask anybody that played, you're not going to play with that ball around me. That's what you're not going to do. In the post, dribbling it, I am going to try to strip this. That's just what it is. Like, I'm not going for it. You play with that ball in the pole, and you got to have that bitch up here somewhere. You move it, I might slap you.
Starting point is 00:30:11 Anything down here? Yeah, I didn't, you, I'm swiping up, down. You got, you're going to have to. That's a good eye cord. What you're doing it in? Yeah, he's doing it in the separate time. He was doing this. He's dribbling it down.
Starting point is 00:30:24 He turned. That spin is crazy. Yeah, it's hard. Like, what he's saying, like him bringing it down, him just bringing it down on the, and then turning into the post. Cool, right?
Starting point is 00:30:36 Yeah, that's what it turns. I'm like, it turns the whole play into an ISO play. But I'm all for. I know what you're saying, too, as far as it takes time off the shot clock for you to even do all. of that. Bring it down. Now I'm in front of you. I'm making you turn your back to me. Now you got to hit me with the spin, half spin. But it's what pass.
Starting point is 00:30:57 No, he was going to go ahead. Because if Kenyon doing all that, Yonke's going to pass the him. He's going to pass a ball. He's a hell of a basketball player. I want people to think that he's a hell of a basketball player. I admire him. I love watching him competing play the game. But I think defense. I watch this man endlessly. Like I have to play against him. I'll study him like I studied Tim Duncan, right? Didn't stop him, but I made it as difficult as I could possibly make it every possession, right? And this is a different game when I'm playing against Tim Duncan.
Starting point is 00:31:32 They're going through this man on the horse. Yeah, they're running that shit. Yeah, cross screen, cross screen, diagonal screens. Yeah, like, yeah, like I'm getting screened, but it's like, it's the chess match, right? I said Tim Duncan made me get better. Tim Bunken forced me. Like, if I'm meeting him at the free-thor line
Starting point is 00:31:52 and forcing him out, I can meet, I can force anybody to any shot that I want if I'm doing it to him, right? He's catching it, but one thing he didn't shoot against me was the bank shot. Listen, I'm going to take something away. Not one time Tim Duncan faced me up and shoot that bank.
Starting point is 00:32:08 As soon as he face up, I'm crap. Close the face. Right? I'm not backing up against that, right? He's going to have to put that bitch down, swipe middle. Rip, yeah. Rip middle and he don't.
Starting point is 00:32:17 Throw the hook. Yep. Tim Duncan right. All right. That's just. So let's talk. Joker regular season. Versa will just going to read this for you guys.
Starting point is 00:32:28 Average 36, 15, 11 assists. 65% from the field, 50% from 3. So Yolk is in two games. Pride, shit you can. Rudy. Yokees in two games in the playoffs, averaging 25, 14, 10 assists. But he's shooting 49% from the field,
Starting point is 00:32:45 21% from 3. Is that sustainable series where we're about to see Yolkin start birth to babies in the near future? And
Starting point is 00:32:53 if Rudy steps up to the challenge I don't know what that looks like but we all know what Nicole is capable of doing he's had a 60 point triple double
Starting point is 00:33:01 against him. Put up 56 and 15 against him on Christmas Day 56. We know we're capable of doing right. You know how good
Starting point is 00:33:07 of a defense you play right? No, that's what I said. I said it's the long series I love the advice Anthony Edwards is giving them keep that shit
Starting point is 00:33:14 in his head because this ain't over. This ain't old. That's straighting over by a mile. So let's move forward a little bit. Nuggets don't seem like a bear that you want to poke, but Jada McDaniels did just that after the game. McDaniels asked what worked offensively for the wolves in the win,
Starting point is 00:33:31 had this response. Go out, Yolkish, Jamal, all the bad defenders, Tim Hardaway, Cam Johnson, Aaron Gordon, the whole team. Just go out of them. They're all bad defenders. Yeah, they're all bad defenders. They don't got people that could defend the rim, and if he is there, we still more athletic than them,
Starting point is 00:33:51 and just got to be able to finish when we do. Is there a discipline involved in just staying in that attack mode? Yeah, you got to, yeah, just sometimes you got to know when the attack and win the right moments, and just if it's your time to shoot it or pass it, but either way, if you just break the paint, you're going to have a shot, or someone else is going to be open. Damn. The Lakers traded him, too. Yeah, he's talking.
Starting point is 00:34:13 On draft. This is when you don't like people. Right, because you don't, like, you're supposed to keep this in this playoff time, right? Mm-mm, right? Mm-mm. It's got a report. Yeah, but you ain't supposed to get a scouting report away. Yeah, because you want you to, man, he's like no adjustment.
Starting point is 00:34:29 He don't like them. There's no adjustment. He's saying they full name, too. Yeah. Tim Hardaway. What's the adjustment? What's the adjustment? Ham Thomas.
Starting point is 00:34:36 Aaron Gordon. So, Aaron Gord. He's saying they full name. You're going to show up and defend? We know y'all can't defend. We know that if we be patient on offense and we say not. settling for these three, let's drive them. Drive them.
Starting point is 00:34:49 He don't like that. No, he don't. So that's my thing, right? That's the game plan, right? You don't give the playoff game plan away. I understand you like, you're like, the plan was, listen, put your head down, let's attack, right? But to put names on it, we are, we watched the game, we saw what y'all were doing. It's personal.
Starting point is 00:35:07 Yeah, he don't know. We want them to know. We want them to know and it's going to be the same results like it was the last time we saw your play. What they're playing my game? Thing is, but you can't give, like, you don't know if you want to get them bulletin board material. Oh, yeah. No, no, listen, we're going, we're about to have, we're about to see a crazy triple double from your kids. Same by, yeah, because they got Jada McDaniels.
Starting point is 00:35:27 No, they don't. No, they don't play. It's Scott and Report. No, look, no, they don't play. If they're not really. Yeah, no, he's not lying. They play good team defense. If we're talking Scott and Report and play two.
Starting point is 00:35:37 And I'm Jada McDaniels, and we look in at how they just played the way we played against them, we want to see if you. y'all gonna step up. Yeah. Like, we playing mind games with you. And we plan, we playing, we playing offense too. Like, we playing offense. Y'all got to play defense, but can we sustain y'all offense?
Starting point is 00:35:54 That's all. Our thing is, can we stop y'all from doing what y'all do best? If we can do that, we know we got a chance now. All we got to do is attack. Get to the free throw line. What are you saying, B? I was going to say, I mean, I'm kind of with you because I will wait to after, after the series, and then be like, yeah, I mean, well, this is a scouting
Starting point is 00:36:12 point right here. That's not something to say after game two No, it's not at all I mean these guys are champions So it's like you know And this guy And we just beat them last year Yeah
Starting point is 00:36:24 I know I know but I'm saying You got a three-time MVP NBA champion over there It's all right That's all one person And Jamal Murray I mean You got five dudes over there got a ring
Starting point is 00:36:38 I know but I'm saying like you don't want to wait You don't want to wait Bruce Brown Bruce Brown He was on the team. Christian Brown was on the team. Aaron Gordon. Aaron Gordon was on the team.
Starting point is 00:36:47 All them was on the team. And I think Ziegnaz might have been on the team as well. So they got guys. Daniel's insane. We're going to put the things out as the same way we did last year. He don't like that. Yeah, fuck them. And, hey, you know, Yonka's going to have a 60, 10, and 12.
Starting point is 00:37:05 We're cool with that. Sometimes you got to give that up for him to be cool with his triple-double. No, you don't. For us to win. Not that one. If we pull out a two-point win and he got that kind of trip. Cool, let him go to his horses and, you know what I'm saying? Y'all do not want him see him get that shit going like that.
Starting point is 00:37:21 We're cool. They've seen it before. They've seen it before. But the thing is, yeah. Let's win the game. And the honest of God, truth about it, Jamal Murray has done his part, right? 31. 30 years.
Starting point is 00:37:36 Or 30, 70. Both games. Both games. Nicola has pretty much done what he's supposed to. But you said before the game, I mean before the show, is Aaron Gordon. Timmy played well. I'm playing solid. Who is his other kid they throwing out there that's-
Starting point is 00:37:56 Jones? That's fucking foul. Weird. He looked like a 2K player, bro. I'm like why he? Who is he? Just throwing him out there. He ain't doing them foul.
Starting point is 00:38:05 He's just running around. He looked like he gonna foul you. Just niggas about to foul somebody. What the fuck is in the game? Yeah, them 22, what the fuck is in the game for? I said the same shit. I'm like, who is this thing? Yeah, well, yeah, who this nigga for this dad?
Starting point is 00:38:21 Steve Kerrude is. Just throw him in there. Run around and foul, this nigga. You're going to let him sleep in the big hand? Yeah, but. No disrespect, young fella. I don't know you try to take your tongue. I just don't think you should be playing the playoff show.
Starting point is 00:38:33 Man, you just look like a hack. Yeah, this is high, high stakes out here, dog. And you are this bitch just running around hacking. We will see what happens. That's like it always is when you throw a young Yeah He's doing well
Starting point is 00:38:47 He running around He's gonna foul Yeah But to y'all points that y'all was Like what Jaden McDaniels is saying Like historically
Starting point is 00:38:53 Tim Hardaway is not known as a defender Jamal Murray is not known As a defender Aaron Gordon is not known They their whole name Yeah Like the whole squad
Starting point is 00:39:01 Nicola Yogish Is not known as a defender Like He said the whole team Yeah But he said The start to start five Right
Starting point is 00:39:07 He said first of last name To me He didn't say nothing about Bruce Brown because he defends, right? He should have been away, I'm saying. With everybody else that got minutes, he called out. We at you.
Starting point is 00:39:19 Let's keep this thing moving, a lot more playoff basketball to discuss. So today's show is sponsored by Roe. Women find confidence sexy and they can sense it. Starting point is 00:40:28 or manufacturing review. For full safety information, go to row. Dot co. Safety info. All right, well, let's bring it back to LA, Swagged. Rocking the Vintage. Oh, you feel me?
Starting point is 00:40:39 Lakers, Letterman Jacket. Lakers and Rockets. with a Saturday nightcap for opening day of the playoffs. The Lakers won back-to-back games in Houston in mid-March and win the season series. The Purple and Gold was still without Luca and Austin Reeves as both continued to recover from injury, while the Rockets were without Kevin Durant.
Starting point is 00:40:55 He warmed up. Pre-game, game one, was ruled out with the right knee injury. He suffered after banging knees with a teammate in practice this past Wednesday. Rockets were 4-0 in the regular season without KD, but this is not the regular season. Let's take a look at the highlights, if we can, please. So LeBron was up to the challenge in his 293rd career playoff game, embracing the role of facilitator in the first half. Brian dished out eight assists in the first quarter alone, the most for him in any quarter in his playoff career.
Starting point is 00:41:27 I also got a few buckets as well. Looking Shang-gun. They were cooking Shang-goon on the internet this weekend, particularly his defense. It is what it is. Lakers went 15 for 19 from the field to take a four-point lead after the first frame. doing what they needed to do. Ah, beautiful basketball. Lakers led by as much as 10 in the second quarter,
Starting point is 00:41:50 but the Rockets bounced back to close the gap. Trailing by just two points at the half. The Lakers shot nearly 65% from the field in the first two quarters while holding Houston to just 37%. Rockets briefly took the lead in the third quarter, but the Lakers made sure it didn't last long, led by as much as 16 points in the fourth quarter with LeBron and Luke Kinnart, e-scoring 9 points in the 5.
Starting point is 00:42:10 points in the final frame. All five Lakers starters finish in double figures while each playing at least 34 minutes. LeBron stuffed the stat sheet with 19 points, 13 assists and eight rebounds. 145th career postseason double double. Third motion, NBA here. Here's street. Luke Canar led the Lakers with a playoff career high, 27 points on 9 and 13 shooting. He was 5 for 5 from deep. DeAndre 8, 19 and 11 boards. Marcus Markets, 15 and 8 times. Shane Gung led the Rockets with 19 points. He was 6 of 19 from the field. Amen Thompson and Reed Shepard both had 17, but were combined 13 for 28. Lakers held the Rockets at 38% shooting, 33% from 3 in the game.
Starting point is 00:42:48 Lakers attempted just 66 shots. The fewest in, huh? With a smoke button. Here I get you a little bit. Hold on. There we go. A little bit. Lakers attempted just 66 shots.
Starting point is 00:43:02 Fewest in the NBA game in the past three seasons. They also gave up 21 offensive rebows. Only had three offensive rebounds. We love L. Third straight win over the Rockets. It's a song. We love and lay.
Starting point is 00:43:16 Go ahead, keep talking. No, I'm not. You know, you know what they said coming into this series. We wasn't going to win a game. We wasn't going to win shit. Sweet. You said it was sweet.
Starting point is 00:43:26 Brown 41 years old. 41 bias. Brian and Brine would never see the floor together. First father or son to play in the playoff game. In the playoffs, right? They said it would happen. After the game, LeBron had this to say
Starting point is 00:43:36 about filling the void left by Luca and Austin Reeves. Well, for me, I got to do a little bit of everything. That's what the job requires. And, you know, so it's being a triple threat, being able to rebound, being able to pass, being able to shoot. Also defend, put myself in a position where I can bring value to this ball club, bring value to this team, you know, throughout this series. And, you know, it's going to be a game-to-game situation to see, you know, how the game plays out. So I don't really predetermine what I'm going to do.
Starting point is 00:44:07 The only thing that's predetermined in my game is how I'm prepared. You know, I prepare before I get to the game and then once I get out there, it's all about reading, reacting. I understand the situations. I've been in every situation you can ever imagine as a basketball player, so there's nothing that can surprise me. Every situation. Every situation.
Starting point is 00:44:26 293 playoff games. I mean, I'm sure you see a lot of different things in 293. I never played in the playoff games, I don't know. But 293 of them I would imagine. You've seen it all. A lot of stuff thrown my way. What are your biggest takeaways from the Lakers game one win over the Rockets? I want to hear the others talk for this.
Starting point is 00:44:42 Let's move on to you, Mr. B., Tough Croyd University. Are you in Laker today? The lab with Slim. Yeah, no, I'm happy they won. Got a haircut to come back? Just happy. You got to give it up to JJ. He out-coach, he may.
Starting point is 00:44:56 But, you know, no K. If K.D. If K. is not there, this team is definitely ass. The Rockets? Yeah, the Rockets are definitely ass without K.D. It's not even a joke. Your ass? Barri Smith, Jr., he was just throwing shit off the backboard, like, just, um, reach, Reed Shepard, what, he was six, but not.
Starting point is 00:45:15 So one person makes them good? I thought, I thought, I thought it was a team guy. Yeah, no, I'm, they was in that caliber, like, no, I'm going to be honest. Without, um, no, I'm going to be honest. I mean, without Katie. He shepherds six for 20, five for 14 from three. Yeah, I mean, defense. You know, the defense.
Starting point is 00:45:31 I thought you didn't want to talk yet. I'm sorry. You know what? My bad. Yeah, I mean, you're a Laker fan anyway. Let the Laker fan anyway. for me. Let me let you talk for me. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:45:42 What, Aiden? You can't help herself. Aiden, you know, since he got his haircut from J.C., you know, double, double. Shout out of Jay C. Barber to the stars. Shout out of J.C. to Barber. But yeah, man, seriously, though. If K.D. isn't back, you know, LeBron definitely has something personal with the coach over there in Houston. So this is definitely something that he definitely wants to win.
Starting point is 00:46:05 But, yeah, you know, like KD was tweeting, you know, team his ass. Ain't no lie to it. Reportedly, a D. Bernar account All-Star Weekend, no confirmation if it actually was KD. KD. KD said they team's ass, right? Yeah. So.
Starting point is 00:46:18 You heard that, Houston. Houston, we have a problem. Yeah. Also referred to Westberg as a triple double cocaine bear. Cocaine bear. Alleged account. Alleged? No word if it was out.
Starting point is 00:46:29 What happened? Alleged. Let's shift over this. I can. I see you rocking your arrest still in solidarity. Yeah. Houston Rockers. Damn.
Starting point is 00:46:39 They played a night and it's all reds like. I'm talking about. That's Cincinnati, man. Doing solid area. You're talking about? Yeah, no, man. You burping baby yelke. Hey, my bad Luke and uh, hey.
Starting point is 00:46:52 Give us some old smoke for that. Yeah, some smoke for that. He's apologizing all day on this couch. That's the wife's office. You didn't play four, but the one you did play. Hey, but you didn't play four, but the one you did play, hey, play well. No, but yeah, no case. man, yeah, they ain't got enough shooting, enough on the perimeter.
Starting point is 00:47:16 Game playing against the people that they do have out there is easy. The Houston Rockets, that is. To Brandon's point, it's easy to coach against them, and JJ did an excellent job putting his team in. Situation to be successful in using Houston's lack of basketball awareness. and intelligence at times. You got one shooter out there. How do you continue to leave him open?
Starting point is 00:47:52 Right? And Luke Knarr, that is. He's elusive, can you? Not that elusive. Not if you're paying attention to it. Not if you're in tune to who does what. Not that elusive. But he used it to his advantage
Starting point is 00:48:07 and coaching to their advantage in this situation. Yeah. They were supposed to. in game one, you got took care home. Without Luca, without Austin, is, so it's a tough road to haul. But they did it in game one, man, and we don't know if Katie's gonna play in game two.
Starting point is 00:48:41 If he doesn't, it's pretty much to be the same look, I think. Questionable. Questionable for game two, don't know if he's gonna play, but I'm assuming it'll be the same game planning, Make them do shoot. Make Houston shoot. And with that, it would be the same result.
Starting point is 00:49:01 41-year-old LeBron? Yeah, so my thing, if LeBron is driving to the basket, right, he's not the LeBron of old. Teams overhelp so much when he's driving. Make him finish over one, right? If he does, great. You just over-helping, over-helping. Eight assists in the first quarter.
Starting point is 00:49:19 You guys just, like, he's proven to you what he's on today. He's a facilitator. La Magic Bronson. And Houston just keep reacting to everything that he does, right? He drives to the bass, y'all collapsed. They're amazed. Yeah, so he's, they're got the eyes. You saw Shangun.
Starting point is 00:49:38 The glissy eyes. Shane Goon, stood to his feet when LeBron took the court, said he was trying to get something in his pocket. Yeah, but not. They did what they're supposed to. You got a bow. Yeah, they did what they're supposed to. They got a bad.
Starting point is 00:49:49 to the king. It's another home game tonight. Hey, chance to go up too old. We just got to enjoy these moments. Oh yeah, no, it's a chance to go up too oh, man. They do what they're supposed to. It might not laugh. It's me some wrong here.
Starting point is 00:50:04 Katie don't play. Katie don't play. Hey, good luck. Trust me. LeBron like an official like fourth option? He's seen everything and he can adjust to anything. He ever seen fourth option. He's optionless.
Starting point is 00:50:21 Like they was... Luke. Luke. Fellow Ohioian. Luke. They broke the bounds for a record. Duke. J.J. and Luke back at Duke. He needs somebody he can depend on.
Starting point is 00:50:34 He just shoot it. That's supposed to be Don Kinnick out there doing that type of shit. I needed Duky. He had his chance. He had his chance. The Dolphin could do that in the G League. 27 points from Luke Kinnard and first game. He may definitely get now coached, definitely not seeing the difference between the regular season games that they pounced on Houston with and used the zone and used the lanes and making them shoot threes, making them adjust.
Starting point is 00:51:07 I didn't see too much zone in this previous game, but you can see they got their number defensively figuring out how to make them guys take terrible shots. Sangoon, to be honest, as high as everybody was on him, like he's shown that he could be tradable. I'm not rolling with none of the antics, even how he's getting to the basket of the things that he's been doing, is not conducive to the team chemistry. You see them out there trying to figure out where they're going to get a bucket from. You don't got no KD. And to Swag's point, Houston, that was number two, is without a Jalen Green and the Dillon Brook. And I think those two pieces change the dynamic of that team.
Starting point is 00:51:51 And the fact that Katie not there and they look this bad, Luke Kinar can come in there and Skywalker all over their ass, it's different. And you got LeBron don't really have to do nothing but be a magnet. And to be that stupid as a team to see that this guy's, whether his age or his ability is gravitating, you guys to come in and make easy life for Ruiz. Rui and Marcus Smart
Starting point is 00:52:18 and eating getting busy out there just being, like they don't have to exert energy to do what they was doing. It's just living around LeBron. So I think they cook regardless, even if KD come back. I think they cook
Starting point is 00:52:34 because KD didn't show to have a solution for the shit they were doing in the regular season. It was no solution. It was more frustration. So I think this is a bad matchup for Houston all the way around. And I think I mean, if the LA come out there just play harder than them, they'll get rid of them. It could be a gentleman sweep or sweet.
Starting point is 00:52:53 Wow. Damn. 41-year-old, LeBron James, gentleman sweepie? It's personal for LeBron. Well, you don't like to go. Go ahead. Go ahead, Lake. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:53:02 Shout out to the greatest point guard that ever played this game, LeBron James. The fact that all y'all's saying is 41 and he's destroying teams. You feel? You're still making players look good, giving players confidence. He's not, he don't have to go to the beast mode. Weird. He's AI, Magda Johnson right now. You ain't seen Luke Knorrh to look like this all year
Starting point is 00:53:26 into AI Magid Johnson and LeBron. He don't know how to take it off. He don't know how to take it off. Mark is smart. It's all about uplifting and building the confidence in your players. And when you do see LeBron go down the lane, he still can't dunk on your head. So you do have to look for that. It ain't as high as it used to be,
Starting point is 00:53:46 but LeBron's still dunk. Okay, I can still dunk too. Who, Sangoon, don't jump higher than LeBron at 41? You see, I'm the same. The guy that's on him. He's got a tall, he's seen, or Jabari Smith or one that's on him. Let him finish over one of them instead of over-uping is what I'm saying. They're skinny, though, like light.
Starting point is 00:54:07 Yeah, man, I mean. Oh, man's straight. He still can dunk, but it ain't like, it ain't. It ain't like that 27-year-old, bro. But it's like that. Then I can understand you're getting out of the way. It's like that. All right, young fella, going over the top of your,
Starting point is 00:54:21 I'm gonna go over the top of your ass, you know? You know, above the rim. You're going to the seventh. Yeah. The drop you golf at five. I'm going to 10. I'm going to talk. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:54:34 That old man shit. You see the old niggins at the gym. He'll get buckets. He said, Thank you. He said, embracing the ball head. Embracing the rollers for shal-
Starting point is 00:54:42 He's in the fourth quarter? That's what he has. I think that would be the best thing for the Lakers is LeBron stay at, stay doing what he's doing because he can't go beast mode. Not going to get embarrassed in front of his son? He can't. Just keep it real. He can't go 2018, LeBron or 2002, and try to go for 40.
Starting point is 00:55:04 Possible. All things possible. So as long as the others are hitting shots and planning the confidence, I think in LeBron's stay at 28 and 13 assists. It's going to be a great night. Vando made that corner three. I was like, yeah, it's going to be a great night. But if Katie come back, I think it's a different story though. Katie coming back, it's a different story though.
Starting point is 00:55:31 The story as in what, like, as of what, the Lakers are going to the series? It would be harder. It's harder for sure. It's harder for sure. To go back to like, he plays good because he's 41 with Katie come back. He's 41. What do you mean? But it equals out.
Starting point is 00:55:48 No, I'm saying like, no. They can't do. Either way. Hey, we've never seen this. Hey, we didn't know. He's going to go. I think he's 41. What do you know?
Starting point is 00:55:56 No, because it equals out. They have an all-star. We have one all-star. They're going to have two all-stars to R-1. Don't that? If Katie that. One-old. Sang-oon.
Starting point is 00:56:06 No matter what y'all say, he's been an all-star. He's a star. And an all-star. He's an all-star. Who's the Lakers' All-Star? LeBron. So that equals out.
Starting point is 00:56:16 And it's the others. But Katie, coming back, is two All-Stars versus LeBron. Luke Canard looked like the All-Star. He's supposed to look like Luke Ceynard. It was their first game. He's supposed to look like Luke Cunard.
Starting point is 00:56:30 He's supposed to look like Luke Cunard. That's what I'm saying. But if... Six for 20. Another All-Star step on the floor against... He got 20 up. 20 shots.
Starting point is 00:56:39 Hey, Reed Shepherd got 20 shots of me. Y'all better... Was it supposed to be Reed or was it supposed to be A-Man? Yeah. Both. They took A-Man out. And y'all talked about last year. Did you see Phoenix Clums this weekend, too?
Starting point is 00:56:51 Mm. Hard to watch. What about it? To read, I would have traded all of them then. Hey, man. Last year, they got the asses up by another team. Yeah, it's a different team, bro. That was a different king this year.
Starting point is 00:57:07 Last year was the different king this year. I'm still Curry the king, man. It's a bad matchup, I think. Even if Luca and AR is out there against K.D. and them, they get in their ass whoop. I agree. Oh, yeah. Used to get in their ass.
Starting point is 00:57:22 Yeah, for sure. So I don't think, this is not a good matchup for them at all around the board. And it showed because you got LeBron and Luke Kinnard whooping everybody except for KD. So is it saying y'all need KD that bad? Yes. Yes. on the fucking LA Lakers with no Luca, no AR, and a 40-year-old LeBron? 41.
Starting point is 00:57:43 Fulfurs out here threatening K.D. Tell them, hey, motherfucker, you better win this shit. You better not lose to the LeBron James and them without Luca and them. No Luca and no, Austin Reed. Everybody thought the Lakers were cooked? Yeah, definitely. But then KD pull up gaming game one. That helps.
Starting point is 00:58:01 That helps y'all. That's right. That's right. That's right. We were the right. We were the first. It's supposed to be one, right? KD versus LeBron?
Starting point is 00:58:08 But if San Guna's out. No, it was very disappointing, Kay. It's a big letdown for the game. I was at my Little League hit a time watching. We had the game, bro. I was like, where KD? Oh. Ducky. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:58:21 Ducky. I definitely take the Rockies. To win it. I thought it was the first game. Wicked at a game. Was that practice? I got the wrong thing. Once you get that text in, it's like, oh, he ain't playing.
Starting point is 00:58:33 It's like, they already said, but I said it. Yeah. I thought different. of Houston, right? I thought they had guys that would accept the challenge with Luca and Austin out there.
Starting point is 00:58:47 Even more, I think they let their guard. Now, they didn't let their fucking guard down. They just didn't come to play. Adam was playing well too, though. That's what we expect that, though. Those numbers are what we said he should average. 19 and 11. We said those are his average.
Starting point is 00:59:02 If he averaged that, we said, they had a chance. Not from Jason. That's him at number three. Yes. Him being the third option. With them out there right now. Yeah, with them two out there.
Starting point is 00:59:11 He did. And if he averaging that, it has been the fourth option. When DeAndre Aidan's catching the ball, your team could be in a very different. I mean, this series isn't over with Houston and Lakers, but I still feel like if Houston don't make those moves to get Jalen Green and what's his name, Dylan Brooks up out of there, I think Houston is a better team, just overall. You would make that trade for KD, though. I'm just saying.
Starting point is 00:59:35 You have the opportunity to get somebody. like, hey, then you got to give up Jalen Green and Dillen Brooks. I know. But you're not making that move? No. I mean, listen, the only, no. The only reason why I say, like, it's hard because they're young and you guys were, you guys were, it was their first year in the playoffs, right?
Starting point is 00:59:52 They didn't do it to them guys up in Boston. They stuck with them. And, I mean, look what they're doing over there. Look what season they're having over there in Phoenix. Well, after Jaylon Green's postseason last year. Individually, they're having a, they're in the playoffs. Like, like, they're still in the playoffs. And Dylan Brooks is having a better season than he had last year.
Starting point is 01:00:10 When they were six years? When they were two C last year? Phoenix. Yeah, number two last year. Katie stay in Phoenix. Houston was a two Csie with their head last year. And that was his third year. That was his third year.
Starting point is 01:00:21 So they're a seven Csie. 80s. That was Katie's third year. Two and a half a year. So the trade. But no matter. They lost the Warriors. This wasn't the first.
Starting point is 01:00:27 This was Dylan Brooks first year. No, it was. No, no, it was Houston's first year in the playoffs, right? Yeah. Yeah. So, I mean, so now you're about to play the Lakers who, who, worse and you're about to lose to them. You got young dog.
Starting point is 01:00:40 I think that was a little bit down. That team last year lost to the Warriors. Right. A 7 seed, right? Right. It was their first year in the playoff. How many games that they win? They won't one game.
Starting point is 01:00:49 What, it's the Warriors last year? I don't know. The league of seven or seven? But the bad team last year. They went seven. They won't seven. They just got hurt. Remember Jimmy and them got hurt.
Starting point is 01:00:59 Nick. This year. Nick. Nick. Nick. I know, but they were. But they got hurt. They got hurt.
Starting point is 01:01:04 They played two years in Phoenix, bro. two years in Phoenix, he posted to play another two year of Phoenix. You're not supposed to go to no other team. It don't affect winning. I would love to have a Dylan Brooks, but... What you mean they don't affect winning? They went from two to four.
Starting point is 01:01:19 Five? Are they five? Four? Fifth of this season, Mr. R. Yeah, they went from two to five. Behind the four-seat at Los Angeles. I would not. And then you gave them to your young horseback. I would love to trade for Dylan Brooks. I would love to have something like that. Okay. For sure.
Starting point is 01:01:32 Well, who are you talking about for Phoenix? Yeah, for any team. Yeah. So my thing... Guess what you gave up Jalen Green who got a had a hamstring injury, right? And a bright future. We're talking about real bright future. Athletic and shoot. He could do all those things.
Starting point is 01:01:44 Down there in Phoenix, he handing the torch over to Jalen Green. Devin Booker is like here. Is he handing it or is he handing it or is he handing it or? He had 35 to get them in the. Is Devin'Booker handed or Jailen Green is saying, no, I got this? Both playing games. Both playing games. Books then.
Starting point is 01:02:03 No. Somebody would love that. I wouldn't. At this juncture, I mean, just go. At this juncture, right? You said, said, but can go to Detroit. Yeah, with the KD thing. K.D.
Starting point is 01:02:12 Yeah, I wouldn't have to. I'm not. Because Katie, where he was at, even though they was going through turmoil, I don't give up on that because we invested in it. So after two years, you give up with that investment and you just sling them out and you say, Houston here, we're going to solve y'all problem. We ain't got no problem. We was just number two.
Starting point is 01:02:31 We've seen it in Milwaukee. But you also lose Brad Van Fleet, too. There's bigger issues. So if you got Fred with Jalen Green, Jalen Green, Dylan Brooks with them young guys? But if you had Fred with this squad? I think they're going to make a championship. Nah, because it's still, it's still fucked up San Gould. Hey, with Sam, with Fred, hey, with Fred, you still can't, the other niggas can't shoot.
Starting point is 01:02:50 They were going to win a championship with that team? With Jalen Green and Book? No. They was going to win. No. Were they ever going to win a championship with the game? Are they going to win with KD? And Green.
Starting point is 01:03:02 Are they going to win with KD? Were they ever going to win with that team? They got to come close. They come closer than what they are right now. I mean, going from number two. So if Houston came back and they win this first round, so don't I mean that what they did, they went further than what the team they had last year?
Starting point is 01:03:21 You said if Houston comes back and wins this year. If Katie come back and they end up winning the series, would that mean they went farther than that team? No, they don't mean that. Yes, but that's still don't mean. Yeah, it is. I don't mean that they better. Because the Lakers ain't playing what they two best guys.
Starting point is 01:03:34 Absolutely. You should be winning. You should really win in the series. You should beat. Like, like, like, they should be blown their ass out. With no Luca, no AR, you should win. That's like, that's 50 points going right there. 57? Yeah. But with LeBron Ramon Jameson. Yes.
Starting point is 01:03:51 AI magic. A.I. Magic. A. Magic Bronson. Yeah, no, I think Houston. I'm not making that trade. I'm keeping them guys. That trade. Mm-mm. Every Sunday.
Starting point is 01:04:03 Mm-hmm. On the Lose Day. Not a few years ago, Katie. Maybe. Yeah. Brooklyn, Katie. Yeah. Any Katie.
Starting point is 01:04:14 What you mean? Look what the Katie doing now. He's out with Neatten tonight. It's game one, bro. It's the last thing we need you to play us good 70 games all season and get to the first game of the playoffs and you ain't available. That's the last thing we're thinking. And we look nasty.
Starting point is 01:04:31 And we don't even know how to respond to not having you on the floor. nasty. 378 games in the record. That's what you want. You want this for the Lakers. You are really easy to defend with no Kevin Durant. You said they look nasty?
Starting point is 01:04:47 No, Jaylen Green. No, Jaylen Green looked nasty last year in the playoffs. That's it. But their team, I think, what, would they go? Six or seven? Houston. They went six or seven last year with the Warriors. Seven.
Starting point is 01:05:01 Jaylon Green struggling in the series. I think I had won a 30-point game in the rest of the games. But look, it's getting bench in the fourth quarter. I said, if Houston picked up Padee, I said, man, listen, y'all going to have to change your whole offense, the whole chemistry
Starting point is 01:05:14 of the team around him. And if anything happened with him, y'all fuck. The team y'all had before, y'all had motherfuckers that was playing based on who was hot and how the ball was moving, Dylan was good. Shit, Jabari played better. I feel like, Sanguong ain't had no pressure.
Starting point is 01:05:30 He's really just feeling like he was number one option. He was. And that's the, The problem. And now, Katie over. Katie over. And now he feels some type of way.
Starting point is 01:05:38 The burner account come out. He feels like he taking shots of niggins. Like, we don't know what's going on. Yeah, they're trash, bro. Katie, should have been. Not confirmed to be KD's burner account, but. No, he didn't talk about San Goon. He was talking about all of them.
Starting point is 01:05:52 But last year of Sangoon, in the playoffs against the worst, he's shown flashes of. Yo, listen, I just, yo, some more time, more time, like, together. Yo, I thought he was going to be able to go like this. But I think him and Katie, they both, they both. They both need that ball. No, that's on them. It's a natural deferring situation. For sure.
Starting point is 01:06:12 Seniority. For sure. KD show up. I am going to defer to him no matter what. I look crazy if I'm not. I look crazy. No matter what, right? Do I?
Starting point is 01:06:23 Yes. It's my shit, though. It doesn't matter though. But it's KD. I know I look crazy. It's like you just look crazy. But what do we always say? The white hour.
Starting point is 01:06:32 It's like, yeah, but what we always say? Got a tour of cool. Anytime you get that number one, any time you get a taste of beer number one and you have some success, man, you ain't trying to. It's a different situation. Braun go to Miami. What happens? D-Wade. Just automatic.
Starting point is 01:06:46 Because it's not working when we're trying to share it. We're trying to share it's not working. Okay, but who's the better player? Somebody has to. Who's, I mean, Ron coming off MVP. But when D-Way was-Way was already saying. No, no, I'm not saying they wasn't, no, but I'm saying, LeBron Zain is coming over there. But he was already.
Starting point is 01:07:03 That's MVP. For facts, that's fair. So in a much higher situation, one guy felt he needed to, you know what, in order for us to be who we need to be. I feel, I'm gonna take a, I'm gonna take a, I ain't just a. But think about if the dude don't need that, if he don't need to be. You feel like he's going here. Yeah, he don't need that.
Starting point is 01:07:28 We ain't giving it to you if you don't need it. You bring the first ballot. of all the family and I'm in my fourth year right you come on man you see how yeah look at him not not just naturally right he show up and you just automatically at time oh you're the fourth quarter where you sang goon would the one into his now the ball in his hand right you see it from the first thing but that's a problem though because i was just doing it i was just doing it last year in in the in the fourth quarter so why are you taking away from me now but it's cold like like but so i'm here i'm supposed to help so i should be able to help kd more
Starting point is 01:08:03 with this because I can go get it too But Katie got to trust me too Katie got to trust that I can help them That's number one Do you trust that I'm a good number Two? Can you give me to rock And not make faces when I miss shots And shit? Like you can't be
Starting point is 01:08:19 On that bullshit with me when I'm getting my shit off That's where it went wrong And when they gave it to San Goon and all Like the win the game for him And he kept missing it turns off He kept looking at that nigga like crazy Like man y'all keep giving it this fucking dump open Yeah, and then you start, I know San Goun starts sending it on.
Starting point is 01:08:38 Sending it to him. Check out, look at his face when you shoot it. Yep. Now, D. Wade wasn't doing that shit. Wade didn't. He just said about LeBron, how LeBron went to Miami because, you know, Wade was already established the champion. It's kind of like the same with Katie.
Starting point is 01:08:52 He went to the Warriors. They were already established champions. Like, you know what I'm saying? So like, St. They were saying, because they scoot it over for Katie. They was like, Katie, what do you need to feel comfortable? What do you need?
Starting point is 01:09:05 He's like, no, just let me fit it. He's like, no, nigger, we need you to come in and do your thing. We don't need you trying to squeeze into a second seat, bro. You got your own seat over here. And then you got a lesser situation with them dudes. Brown went to Miami. They got a championship already. Duway got a championship already.
Starting point is 01:09:24 KD. go to say they got championship already. Katie go to Houston. They didn't lost 200 games in the last two years. Well, Brooklyn. Right? Right. But then he goes, but now that's coming off of this, he's still short. I'm going to stay wasn't hurt.
Starting point is 01:09:37 That's KD. That's KD. Right. Let's see that team. Let's make him comfortable. Not even. We got our go-to guy. Yeah, but not even like consciously, subconsciously, right?
Starting point is 01:09:50 The game on the line, KD take, now he, now the ball in his hand with the game on the line now. You automatically going to take a scoot over just because of the situation, him being there. Because you're in your fourth year and you're not established. He's established already. So your human nature is like, and if you don't, everybody in the locker, everybody around looking at you like, the fuck you want. And you can see it.
Starting point is 01:10:15 Taking order. If Fred is there, is a different story? I think it helps. Oh, for sure. I think it helps. Does it? I think it helps everybody. Because the ball is in Fred's hand now and not.
Starting point is 01:10:27 And Fred is getting to determine where the ball is going later. You listen to Fred on these damn podcasts. Fred looked like he's sitting right in Katie pocket. Okay, hey, listen, big fella, we're going to run through you. We're going to do what you need to do. When we were Fred out there. Fred's a gun. I mean, Fred, shoot that thing too.
Starting point is 01:10:43 He's a gun. He understands, I think, well, this is what I saw of him. I think. I think he understands time, score, situations, all of those things in order when the guy, like, from him winning in Toronto. I think I'm, that's what I remember him now. Okay. So.
Starting point is 01:11:00 I think he would have to bring guys against us. I think it helps. But him not being a definitely push Sangoon to, like, not a one and a one. This is one, Kevin Duran is one. He has clearly moved to the two. But does he have to be on the floor for him still to be able to affect how y'all get together and how y'all get along? Absolutely.
Starting point is 01:11:21 Yeah, because I feel like last year when he was getting off, you got to think about the players that was out there with him. Maybe he was out there with Dylan. Because Greg and said, out there with Jaylen Green. So it was different. Like the setting is different. Now, you don't have those guards that can score or slasher's, everybody's out there just throwing up bricks.
Starting point is 01:11:38 And Fred can say all that shit he wants, right? Friggins say all that shit he wants. But when this motherfucker thing here get involved, and he on the sideline. But Katie ain't never played with a big, like San Gung before. But Katie, he got to be a new thing for him. Katie, got to step up. Trying to adjust?
Starting point is 01:11:59 No, you can't do that. Because you're playing with a good big that can give you 20 and 10, right? You ain't never really played with a 20 and 10 big. That's your sole second option. So now you're like, all right, you had Bradley Bill, Devin Booker, you had Kyrie Irvin, James Harder, you had Steph Curry, Clay Thompson. These are all guards you can depend on. You know how they're going to play.
Starting point is 01:12:18 But this big, how am I going to feed off him? And I know I got to slow the game down, we've got to give him the ball, got to pick and roll, do a bunch of shit that ain't fast. It's an adjustment for him. So it's like what adjustments do I make as a player that benefits him to make him better? I don't think Katie made those adjustments. I think he came in, he's going to do what he do. That's what I'm going to be a leader, buddy.
Starting point is 01:12:42 He got to change that. He can't just go. I just want to hook. Yeah, and that's what he meant. I just want to come in and get my bucket and get my 26. He got to be a leader right now. Let me get my percentages. He got to be more.
Starting point is 01:12:55 When we had this guy. He got to give me his confidence. Like, Edman, did me go? Bird. He kept him confident. Yeah. All right, well, we were talking. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:04 But at this juncture, man, it's, you can't be. You got to rally around and he young. You got to bring him in. You can't be having him here and burning or counseling and shit. Talking about it. If you did, if that was Brown, they'd be killing. You got to say something. They'd be killed.
Starting point is 01:13:19 Come out, say, hell no, that ain't me. Sangoon. That's my man. Yeah, we're cool. Take them to dinner. They didn't get them some work. No, watch out. No, watch out.
Starting point is 01:13:27 Y'all ass. Everybody are pretty. None of that. He just, I'm not paying attention to that. Right. He didn't, he didn't squash none of the bullshit. So if you're a teammate, I'm literally like, hey, man, you ain't even say sorry or not. Nah, could you see why when I sit down?
Starting point is 01:13:41 I told you all, y'all, y'all ass. Look at stuff. This is what I'm talking about. I think it's too confident over here. I'm too confident. Y'all all not passing me the ball. We will find out what happens in game two tonight. It's reminder that we're doing a Twitch party on the Gills Arena, Twitch channel.

Starting point is 01:15:30 Thank you, Kickoff, for blessing us. All right, let's stay in the Western Conference. Spurs, back in the postseason for the first time since 2019, they had game one against the Blazers. Each player pulled up to the arena in a tailored black suit, courtesy of Kelly Olinick, who gifted each of his teammates with one to celebrate his 35th birthday. Blazers secured the seventh seed with a road win over the sun in the playing.
Starting point is 01:15:52 So Spurs, former number one picks and Hall of Famers David Robinson and Tim Duncan were in the building, and Winby did not disappoint in his first career playoff game, adding another historic performance to his resume. Let's take a look at the highlights if we can't please. French Phenom scored 21 points in the first half, the best scoring first half of a post-season debut in the play-by-play era. Wimby finished the game. That's a goddamn carry, man. Yep, carry that, motherfucker, all the way to the ball. Carry it up to the pierre.
Starting point is 01:16:24 Yo, I'm watching that shit live. I'm like, come on y'all. Yeah, carry that motherfucker, it's right to the bass. Spurred, Festus, the playoff issued shirts of multitude of color. Amir. Hey, man.
Starting point is 01:16:38 Joseph in the amazing Technicolor Dreamt. Wimby finished with the game with 35 points. On 13 to 21 shooting, he was 5 for 6 from 3 to 35 points the most. Watch out. In Spurs, franchise issue for a player in their first postseason game. game. Wimby's 35 surpassed Tim Duncan's previous record of 32 back in 1998. Deering Fox is the Fond Castle both had 17, also combined for 15 assists. Devin Fasel added 15 as well. Danny Obdia also balled out in this playoff debut, 30 points,
Starting point is 01:17:08 10 boards and 5 assists. Scoot Henderson had 18 on 7-11 shooting. Spurs defense held the Blazers to 10 for 38 from 3, just 26 percent. So after the game, Wemby was asked if he feels the weight of following in the footsteps of Tim Duncan and David Robinson and had this response. I wouldn't say wait, no. I would say it feels safe. It feels like if you trip, you know, there's a lot of hands that are ready to catch you. So it's, from day one, it's felt that way. If you fall, you got somebody who's going to pick your punk ass up. Shall let's start with you. Wimby fan.
Starting point is 01:17:53 One of your favorite players in league, been very high on Wimby, think you should have won the MVP, is a finalist for the most valuable player this season. What statement did Wemby make in his first career playoff game? That I'm not from here. Take notice from day one that he got into the league from when I seen him with the META 92 jersey on, going up against Scoot, I knew it was special.
Starting point is 01:18:18 But I think this particular statement is to let everybody know, like, he's not, Only the strong survive in his element. Like he's not here to play no games. And I think that particularly with this team, Portland, they didn't really have no answers for him because he refused to let them off the hook. And I think Mitch put him in a lot of different positions
Starting point is 01:18:45 where he can expose their defense and take advantage of different mismatches. He's being aggressive in the fast break opportunities. He didn't rebound as much as he should have, but to me it's like, you know, when people say, oh, he's going to be tired. And we took the wrong road when it comes to we could have did this and made it a lot of easier. And I think that if that's him being pushed to the limit and being tired, I think we'll take it. We'll take that. We'll take that.
Starting point is 01:19:13 Like, Cleaning, you going to make us work, please? Work for what? All right, cool. All right, listen. Rudy, you make him work by the time he reached us. We're going to see who going to. Who's gonna gas out? We're gonna see who got the energy.
Starting point is 01:19:25 I'm still 22. I'm still gonna do what I do. And I think every game is going to be another statement game, regardless if he has 35 or 22, is going to be him affecting the game in some shape, way or fashion that's going to help that team win. I think he's realized that.
Starting point is 01:19:41 And he got David Robinson and Tim Duncan to be able to give him some type of advice and playoff atmosphere and how to approach a game in different scenarios. And we're still not seeing San Antonio Spurs go through him. He's still just playing the game
Starting point is 01:19:56 where he's finding it and he's letting the game come to him. So it's beautiful to watch. It's beautiful to see him flourish in these opportunities. First playoff game. Everybody was saying, we don't know what he's going to do. We don't know. Now we know. Now we know. Worst nightmare. These are real blades, too.
Starting point is 01:20:13 One, two. Wimby's coming for you. Those are real? You don't find out? Just a sick man, you know. That was easy. Go.
Starting point is 01:20:28 Sick man, bro. Can you let's shift over to you. Winby 35 points. Spurs, a franchise record for a player in their postseason debut. Surpassing Tim Duncan, also number one pick,
Starting point is 01:20:39 Hall of Famer. David Robinson, also in the building. Number one pick, Hall of Famer. To watch Winby, what statement did Winby make in his first career playoff game? That I'm better than,
Starting point is 01:20:52 y'all. Yeah, this is going, like, Portland doesn't have feeling, can't do nothing with Wimby. He's not agile enough. He's an able body because of his size. If it was a different game being played, he would be more effective against Wemby, but this is a different NBA
Starting point is 01:21:13 where you have to move your feet, and Wembe is displaying that so far in game one. Yeah, no, I mean, he's going to have a hell of a series this year, and however long the playoff does last for them, he's going to do what he does. Young, hungry, talented young man that's eager to prove himself to the league and to the spurs that they didn't make a mistake. To your point, following in the footsteps of Tim and David, I'm next in line for this organization. great young big
Starting point is 01:21:52 so yeah for him to come out and put up 35 in his first playoff game I'm not surprised made a few moves off the bounce that I was thoroughly impressed with the shot off the glass going left
Starting point is 01:22:09 that move was nice I said the one on the top of the key damn show picked the ball up and spin dribble had that dish like this but other than that man he had a good game the rebounds are going to come I'm not worried that he only had five they won yet
Starting point is 01:22:28 so yeah he's going to affect the game whether it's rebounding defensively blocking shots defensively or scoring he's going to affect the game to Shia's point yeah I'm excited to see how he builds on game one right what did he learn from game one to take in the game two and throughout this series however
Starting point is 01:22:47 however long it does last. I'm excited to see how he grows from game to game and from series and series. So let's see. Let's move on to you, Mr. B. So Wimby, 21 points in the first half, the best scoring first half of a postseason debut in the play-by-play era. Do you remember how many points you had in the first half of your first playoff game? 20. Okay, so Wimby, one more point. You and Kairie, I believe, both had 20 points in the first half of your postseason day, B, Wimby.
Starting point is 01:23:16 35 points in the game. first franchise record for playing their debut. What statement did Victor Wimba, Yama, make in his first career playoff game? Well, I mean, first time being there, of course you want to come out with a bang, and he did. Knowing that it's just the trailblazers, it doesn't matter. It's the playoffs. But like what Kenyon said, though, I mean, you know, I'm really eager to see what happens now. After this first game, he got the jitters out, you know, see how he still progresses through this series
Starting point is 01:23:44 because the next series is going to be harder. for them. I can see them getting the blazers out in four. So this is not something that's going to be long. And this is one where he could just go get his numbers right now. Go get his numbers because they have no answer for them. I mean, if they try to put two or three guys on it don't matter, he got Fox and all these other guys that can go. So, man, yeah, Portland, thank you just for showing up. I mean, you know, they needed a easy first round and they got it. Both teams lack sufficient playoff experience when I say Drew Holliday, The only Blazer starter.
Starting point is 01:24:18 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I've experienced. Deering Fox, I believe, the only Spurge starter. Yeah. I think it's good for them. I think this was the best thing that could have happened for the Spurs, for them to play a team that can give them confidence in their first playoff run going into the next round. Because confidence could take you to the finals, man. All you need is that one spark, that feeling like, oh, we could really do this. And when we showed that, and I like the fact that the Spurs are giving him his own Spurs. They're not trying to drown the old spurs on them. Like that floor, the crowd, that should look hard. I didn't, you know, they're trying to ask them.
Starting point is 01:24:56 The post-game celebration orchestrated by Wimby beating the drum? They letting him be him, man. But they're there to, you know, guide him and stuff along the way. And that's dope, man. I love the fact that Wimby came out with, played the way he played with confidence and keep shooting. But I just waiting for that game where it's a lot of the game where Those shots not going in and they still got to pull it off and things not going on white. Everything was going right from that game. And for a young player, for young players, that's good. You know, you're going to hide.
Starting point is 01:25:28 You're laughing. High five and cheering. Everything is good. But they need that game where them shots are not going in and they still pull it off for sure. There was a play that happened and I don't know why they don't. They have done it. I just want to. They need to implement it.
Starting point is 01:25:44 If you ever switch a small on him, Yeah. Just do it. Hey, wait me, go to the front of the rim, dog. Was that the live play? Yeah, just like, yeah, he didn't even jump really. Hey, you switch a small on me. I'm just, we're going to implement.
Starting point is 01:25:57 I don't know what you need to call it one, whatever you want to call it. Put the number on it. They switch a small on them. Go stand in front of the, go to the front of the rim. Just walk, man. Let's walk through that though. Let's walk through that though. This is a perfect segue too, because you talk about that play particularly.
Starting point is 01:26:14 Yes. What are we running? running, right, where we're going to warrant that to be your adjustment defensively, right? But that's an invert on the back side. Yeah, you got to, if you want the box, right, and I'm in the pick and roll with Klingham, right? Klingham switch on to me and I'm kind of doing my Jamal Murray down to the elbow. Wimby's going down. First of all, we need to bump him at the Vucca Frito line, right?
Starting point is 01:26:39 And then we might need to switch that because the invert is Kenyans down there waiting for him to roll to him. But what we're giving up? We're giving up that corner pass. Now it's depending on who's in that corner pass. Is it champagne? Is it Harrison Barnes? Or is it a non-shooter?
Starting point is 01:26:57 Is it Castle? Is it Carter Bryant? Guess what? We got to change the way we're doing it. That's 37, 38, 39%. Pops. A hundred percent. Guess what?
Starting point is 01:27:09 Him at the front of the rim? 80 percent. 90 percent. 95, 100. Hont. So. Throw it up there. Throw that bitch over there.
Starting point is 01:27:16 But what is our defense saying if we're not, we're not preparing for that? It happens fast. The action happens fast. Pick and roll, pick and roll, slide, go to the rim is Wimby. Defensively, what the fuck are y'all doing on the weak side? You got to bump that and force that.
Starting point is 01:27:31 I'm taking, like you just said, 35, 37, 38%. I'm taking that over 190%. Yes. Wimby, like that's coaching. It's ABCs. It's checkers now. What are we giving up?
Starting point is 01:27:42 If we got a chance to win this game, corner. Denny, Avia had 30 plus, you got to have somebody else on your roster that's giving you some bucket. Yeah. You know, I know they lost and Portland lost the game. I like what I saw the Scoot Henderson, dog. Scoot look good.
Starting point is 01:28:01 The fact that he's not selling for three, like the threes are there for him to take, he's shooting that one dribble pull-up, dog, and I like it. I like what, I liked how Scoot played the other day. But yeah, I like Scoot. Been in that draft, it's worse. It's worse than that happened to him. Who jettter over there with him? He can't be in that drive with a wimby and you be, yeah, that's,
Starting point is 01:28:19 pull up, pull up jumpers. There's too much pressure on him. It looked like the pressure. Why is there pressure? You got to. Because he's the number two picks. They can be out of it. It was number three?
Starting point is 01:28:28 Yeah, if I'm not mistaken. Yeah, and another thing I owned it. It was two, right? I thought it was two. Yeah, it was two. I know Paula made the playoffs this year and the Tiago Splend is coaching him. But I own, like, my man to get lost in that he built the foundation over that it all.
Starting point is 01:28:43 It was two? Like, Chauncey built the foundation over there. Brandon Miller. Okay. Chanty did build that foundation. A other one. I know they got in now with Tiago running the ham, yes. But shout out the big shot, man.
Starting point is 01:28:57 I don't want Choncy to get a lot. I know he got a lot going on outside of the game right now, which is more important. But Chancy built that foundation on how they were starting to trend to play at the end of last year. So I just want, yeah, it gives Chantz his flowers, man. when he fucking needs some positive shit going on for him right now, man. To see them guys playing the way they are playing and him instilling certain morals and them drafting school when he was there and certain players that played up under him, man.
Starting point is 01:29:27 I just want to get a chance to some love right now, man, because it has to be in a tough spot for him personally. Seeing this team are competing in the playoffs and you're not able to be there on the sideline. But is there, like you're saying, though, be able to watch the team the framework? They look different. Why should y'all go split her step up?
Starting point is 01:29:44 I don't give them love, but the theme looked different. When that situation first went down, I think we all rode off the Blazers. Yeah. Only thing I like it. They were still staying steady from all season. But to get in at eight, man, get in at seven, I'm cool. They fucking tore down the middle. And he had, they tore down.
Starting point is 01:30:03 Yeah, like I was saying, I only get a chance of some love, man, in this situation. So. But to your point, I can't. Scoot Henderson stepping up, 18.7, 11 shooting Danny Obie, 30, 10, and 5. 12 for 21 from the field. Drew Holiday, though. Four for 15, nine points. They'd have 11 assists in the game.
Starting point is 01:30:20 Well, Drew can't be your tough third when you got Jeremy Grant out there. You got Shady Sharp who should be getting buckets. These are two guys who got to show up. I don't know if it's show up or give an opportunity. No, Shade Sharp is to know. Shade Sharp should be number two. That's what I'm saying. As far as the coaching is being able to throw them into the loop of what's going
Starting point is 01:30:40 on. Scoot went, I feel like Scoot went and got his. He's like, I'm going to go get this. Okay. They're young too, so he can keep up with them. He can definitely keep up. Then you look at Drew Holiday. I feel like Drew was trying. He was trying to do more. Okay. And that affects
Starting point is 01:30:56 Jeremy and that affects Shady. And the coach, the coach is probably thinking, let's figure out what Drew can do for us. Drew's taking them shots. But you know, Drew is not out. He's not out there. That's the same. That's the same. I know. Same conversation we just had. And the same conversation we just had that day, though.
Starting point is 01:31:10 But the same conversation we just had this day about the Milwaukee winning situation, right? If Drew's making shots, great. Yeah. If he's going, but he's not there solely on that. But we need those guys who can do what Drew can't do to step up and do it so he don't have to. True. Absolutely. So he's feeling like I got to do this based on y'all not doing it.
Starting point is 01:31:29 Like he shouldn't be taking 19 shots. I think it's better for him 11, 10, 11 shots and being more efficient. That's better for the team. More facilitator? Yes. I dig it. And he got to go with what we were saying before. If you're the facilitator, you go into the game knowing who needs the shots.
Starting point is 01:31:46 Let me get him some shots. Let me get him going. I shouldn't take 19. He shouldn't take 19. I got you. No, especially with them young boys over there with the Spurs. That's a different, like, you know, Drew, he's not young no more. So them dudes is under 25 years old.
Starting point is 01:32:01 They're going to make his ass work. They're going to work. But he's just something to where he works. He's doing other things, though, defensively that I'm watching. and plug him, no, that's the, that's fun. They're not in a certain spaces.
Starting point is 01:32:10 They don't have a little bit. So he's doing that shit, right? No, yeah, for sure. Like, but 19 shots is a lot. But, like, cast with them on his, they're on his ass. They're on his ass. They're on his ass. They're not, they're not letting that shit.
Starting point is 01:32:21 You know, we do. No, we just, we just said. 19, Drew, 19. On this match. No, for this match with their young spurs. No, with this matchup with the young spurs, it's going to be tough, bro. Like, they, they're not.
Starting point is 01:32:32 They're young and athletic. That's what we want as a spurs. We won't Drew taking that challenge. Like, oh, yeah, I'm going to show y'all I can be true. And it's like, not this serious, bro. Just be, get the other guys involved. How y'all got here? Let's scooping them run.
Starting point is 01:32:48 That's going to be a race. So let's shift back to Wemby. So back in March, while stating his MVP case, Wemby said, I believe I'm the most impactful player defensively in the league. And the square media confirmed that statement Monday. League announced Wimby is the first unanimous. defensive player of the year winner since the award's inception in the 82-83 season. Let's take a look at the voting if we can.
Starting point is 01:33:14 Also, the youngest player in league history to win the award. Alien received all 100 first-place votes. Chet Hunger finishing second and Azora Thompson taking third place. Is Rudy? Okay, Rudy Goberra? Came in fourth. So that's crazy. That's crazy.
Starting point is 01:33:31 This is. Okay. So Wimby led the league in total blocks and blocks per game. season. Spurs allowed 10.2 fewer points per 100 possessions with him on the floor. Opponents shot 40.7% when he was the closest defender, best in the league among players who contested at least 500 shots this season. We've got to take it to our defensive expert on the couch. Canyon.
Starting point is 01:33:54 What are your thoughts on Wimby becoming the first unanimous defensive player of the year? The greatest defensive season in NBA history, according to the square media vote. Which is crazy. The greatest defensive season, NBA. Shout out the way before winning this, like, for getting his award back from last year. That's crazy. So the guy that came in fourth, right? What did he do different?
Starting point is 01:34:14 You was doing well, Kenyon. No, what he was doing? No, no, I got a question. He started to show good. No, what do he do different? What the guy in fourth do different than he didn't do, like... Oh, the other guy in number one did a lot more than what he did. He can't do the same thing.
Starting point is 01:34:29 What did last year, though? The guy in one right here, right, right? He didn't play the year. Did not qualify? Last year? Did not reach the fish amount of game? He didn't play 65 this year neither, but we're not going to be four plus the NBA Cup championship. I do not make the rules.
Starting point is 01:34:46 No, shout out to Mr. Victor, but it's crazy that it's like it's unanimous. Victor and Rudy. It's like. French kissing. We're French kissing. Like unanimous. The greatest defensive season, the NBA history according to the voters, Unanimous.
Starting point is 01:35:03 Unanimous. Same as Steph. Same as still. The same shit they would stand with Steph. I mean next year is going to be the same thing. Unanimous. Who at the individual? Say it again.
Starting point is 01:35:15 I can't say it. You can't see it. You can't see it. Yeah, that's it. Yeah. Unanimity. Yeah. Leave it alone.
Starting point is 01:35:21 Leave it alone. Unanimous. There you go. That's it. All you're unanimous. It don't even sound right to me. Because you don't say shit that sound right. Normal.
Starting point is 01:35:32 So it's like it don't feel right. Let me say it back. That sound a little better. No, that's not right. It can be. No, shout out to Winby, man, for getting this award. He controlled the game in a way when he's on the floor and when he's off the floor that you can't deny it. He's going to get better in that regard.
Starting point is 01:35:55 And with just the help side, the talking and different things like that, that's going to come with more experience and more games being played. Right now it's natural instinct that he's playing on and we see what he's doing. Yeah, it's, I just like history and people that vote for these awards and different things like that. So DeKimbe you say his high was four and a half? Four and a half? I'll believe. I'll confirm that, 4.5 in the 95-96 season.
Starting point is 01:36:29 He wasn't unanimous though, right? No. Okay. Right, right. And the youngest. First, unanimous? Yeah. The youngest defensive player of the year?
Starting point is 01:36:38 Yeah. So, yeah, I just, just people that vote, man. I know it ain't the same crop of voters year in, year out, they change. Global media. Yeah, it's not. It's just funny, the criteria and things that people go with in order. Because if a guy is averaging four and a half blocks of game, I'm going to focus, what season it is in the NBA? Four and a half blocks?
Starting point is 01:37:01 The Kimbei average four. That damn. one year and didn't and wasn't unanimous so that mark mark eating average 5.6 that's the most in NBA history 5.6 always beating mark eat that's 5.6 NBA obviously you know blocks as official stat you got will I'm sure yeah well print you can't you can't tell me that anybody in the NBA look
Starting point is 01:37:24 better defensively than with Victor Wimbignana but in the history of the National Basketball Association is just the 82 80s I'm sure what look crazy out there unanimous when you talk about Oh, right. Who affected what on the defensive end this whole season the way this kid did to this year? There's no, it's not a chance. You say who was second check? Watch out. Watch out. Watch out. I don't know, though. Why was Janet Brown so far? Can we see the voting results again, please? Hey, Alan should have been closer. He should be. Man, I'm like, Jerry Brown, that's the
Starting point is 01:37:59 boy. What? What? What? He ain't anymore now. I thought that was him, but it was there. No, it's Jalen Durham. That's, he ain't him on there. That's crazy, bro. Too many Jailers in the NBA? Oh, wow. That's crazy.
Starting point is 01:38:13 That's crazy. That's crazy to me. Wow. But nobody's better than Vic when you're talking about defense. But that... I'm saying Jalen Brown should be in the tough eye. I feel like... They got Derek right out.
Starting point is 01:38:24 They have to do that because he's not going to win MVP, so it makes him look good still, still unanimous. and something, huh? And something so. But not, not MVP. Yeah. But, I mean, listen. So you got to get on something.
Starting point is 01:38:39 If you win unanimous defensive player in a year, you got unanimous all team. First all-NBA, right? You don't have to give him all this. Top three. Let's just say he don't win MVP. Guess what I am? He's not. I'm top three.
Starting point is 01:38:54 You're the best defender for a season in NBA history, top three in the most valuable player vote. Unanimous. But what does that mean? It means that I'm right there. I'm right there. And he's really good in the league full of bad defenders. Should he be at that height, though? Huh?
Starting point is 01:39:12 What you mean? None of the other two finalists for MVP. One of the best defenders in the league at 7-8? Should he be? No, no, no. Cishon Bradley wasn't. Manupo wasn't. Yal mean wasn't.
Starting point is 01:39:23 They don't move like that. None of those guys were predicted to be like, yo, you should be this. They don't move like that, though. You penalize him because he moved like that? Why do you get penalized because I'm athletic? You said he's 7.6 because he's 7.6. He said. But they wasn't.
Starting point is 01:39:40 They wasn't. They wasn't. Wayne Juju and all them niggas was 7.4, 7.5, they ain't windy. You gotta know what you doing with that shit. He looked like he know what he's doing out there. Not yet. To me, he looked like he knew what he's doing. Instinct.
Starting point is 01:39:58 When he's blocking that shit. I was instinct. Remember what you told me in college? You told me that. When you were blocking that shit, you was blocking that shit out of bound home. Yeah. And what?
Starting point is 01:40:08 At first. What did he tell you? Keep that motherfucker inbound so we can get that bitch and go. He's doing all the shit that was taught and cop. And that's what I'm saying. I don't think he know how to play. He don't understand the game. He's just going.
Starting point is 01:40:21 But the little small foundational things that he gets. He's going to be much better is what I'm saying. He's getting that shit clean from weak side where you wouldn't even. Like keeping in bounds type shit I'm giving him I'm just saying Like he's doing everything he's doing now Being unanimous right
Starting point is 01:40:36 And it's all instincts When he started thinking it That's scary And that shit slow down And he's dissecting the play Before it happened And all that's That's what it's like that's the part
Starting point is 01:40:47 I'm like oh shit Yeah Like that part of it is scary But you know that's on the way Yeah That's on the way That's what I'm saying Why are you giving him
Starting point is 01:40:55 All this so early Why not? No he doesn't Right, right, right, right. All that is so crazy. He said this, he's giving him all this, it's like, What's so crazy about? He's forcing him to be, you want him to do the face so bad, yeah.
Starting point is 01:41:08 You don't think we're going to be a fucking three in the MVP voting. Why he doesn't deserve? But he doesn't be a unanimous. Why? Because they, you're forcing him to be something so bad. But you gotta say why? It's going to happen. Let's have the conversation.
Starting point is 01:41:22 It's only been more. LeBron and everybody's leaving, so they need somebody. No, no, no, no. That's not your why. That's not. because they're leaving. Yes. So based on his play.
Starting point is 01:41:31 You need somebody that can carry. He hasn't played MVP basketball this year? Yeah. He hasn't paid top three. He's played great. But in offensive ranking, what is he? Like, Tony Williams? Man, that's what I'm saying?
Starting point is 01:41:42 So we have seen things that's never happened before, right? Steph, there's only been one unanimous MVP ever. Throughout. We'll play this game. Larry Bird, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Kareem, LeBron. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:41:57 There's only been one. unanimous, right? This is that again, right? It won't happen again, being unanimous. They got it out the way. He's great this year. Defensive rating when he's on the floor and off the floor, all these things, the numbers, people throwing out there, it's astronomical numbers that we're seeing now defensively
Starting point is 01:42:22 from Wembe, right? Which the square media to Josiah's square, not Gil's arena level. The square media pays attention to numbers and numbers. hype and those people have votes. So you get unanimous. The thing Steph did when he was unanimous. It's the greatest basketball, individual offensive season we've seen shooting. The hype, Steph was unanimous.
Starting point is 01:42:47 Did he deserve the MVP? Yes, absolutely. Played great. But to be unanimous and it's never happened? Yeah. Right. That's crazy. So it's the same thing as this right here.
Starting point is 01:43:01 We've seen me being unanimous. We've seen it. I don't think it ever happened again. They got it out the way. Played great. Yeah, but we never seen things again. We never seen it again. That's why they happen.
Starting point is 01:43:15 That's why we make them happen. You make them happen. He did. He did. This is a one he's going to get this year. Congratulations. That's off to him, right? What he does for his team to be in second and defensively,
Starting point is 01:43:26 block shots, control the game, yeah, all of that. Great. You're not there yet almost. We won't see another unanimous, I don't. But he's not there yet, almost. We'll see. We'll see. It's not like the 100 square media members got together and said,
Starting point is 01:43:37 hey, we're all voting for Wimby. These were individual. 500 total points. He had even 30 years from the first game of the season. You think so? We wouldn't have nothing to do. But my thing, you want to get, back to my first. In the minute's restriction?
Starting point is 01:43:51 Back to my question. Doing what I'm doing. He's doing it on his rookie year. Because he deserved it. What did the guy in four? Of course they're giving it to him this. They couldn't give it to him last year. They want to give it to the win be his first year.
Starting point is 01:44:04 That's all I want to know. You want to, you hate it. He deserved it his first year, bro. Can anybody riddle me that shit? I'm sorry he ain't coming second. Can anybody riddle me that shit? What? The guy that's in fourth right here.
Starting point is 01:44:17 What did he do different from last year? In the year before that, and the fourth that he has at home. He got four at home. He got four at home. I want to know what the guy did different. What did the guy do that's next to last do different? Huh? The guy that's next to last on the last.
Starting point is 01:44:33 list. What do we do different year and year out? Why is he so far down on the list? We're talking about Draymond Green, ladies and gentlemen. Why is Draymond Green so far down on the list when he is 1A, 1B, 1C, 1D, defensive before his team? I'll tell you.
Starting point is 01:44:49 Right? Where was Draymond Green in the Golden State Warriors last year? But he doesn't change, though. I'm saying, what? No, we're not talking about their team. No, that's what he does individually defensively. Okay, so what you just asked, right? What you do individually that has you not winning it all?
Starting point is 01:45:08 No, no, top five. You're talking about Draymond or both him and Rudy? No, Draymond. Just Draymond. Okay, so. Why the guy that's in fourth not where Chetty? Because I don't think Chet does anything different than Rudy does. So Rudy won it last year.
Starting point is 01:45:21 So, well, how the guy had, how he dropped it? He dropped the fourth because the dude in front made it where everyone had a metric. Look at that last. You got to reach that metric to what he's doing. The guy won it last year. This is what I'm saying. So the metric has changed. How much?
Starting point is 01:45:36 Because the guy that won it changed it that much. You have to get up to what I'm doing now. I got four. The reason he didn't win last year is because he got hurt. He didn't meet the restrictions. They had to give it to Rudy. He's second best. Now, if you don't give it to Rudy, you're giving it to Chet, who played a lot better defense this year.
Starting point is 01:45:58 The Moby won. You won the last year. The Wobo. Moby won in the Nats. He not even won it. He not. He said Rudy won it. Rudy wanted the year before it.
Starting point is 01:46:07 Yeah. Evan Mobley actually played better defense last year than he played this year. Why he not even on the list? Yeah. When he finished second, I believe. Last year. It's Ricky. It's rookie.
Starting point is 01:46:19 To Rudy? Yeah. Rudy. And last year was not eligible. Evan Moble won last year. Dreamon finished third. Hey, Dr. So this is my point on it again.
Starting point is 01:46:31 No. He didn't finish fourth. And he finished third last year. Yeah. So how you got it changed the spot? I don't know what big game. He didn't affect winning. I call that.
Starting point is 01:46:40 Lou Dork. Your defense didn't affect like he did before. Imagine you get all the points and whatever. They shouldn't do that. That should be in there. Luke Dork was fourth last year. Loo Dork did play 69 games. Lerick being his ass.
Starting point is 01:46:51 You played what? No. So you can't say that. You can't say that. No. They're number one. Can't just be running around no more. They don't just running around and chasing a fucking.
Starting point is 01:47:00 No. Because look, that's a six. Do you. Asard do what Lou Dork was doing, he did it a lot better. He blocked a lot more shots, deflected a lot more passes. Command 4th, though. He don't block shots. He don't block shots.
Starting point is 01:47:12 Oh, that's all I'm saying. But Assar does more defensively than Lou Dord. No, he does not. No, he does not. He doesn't do it. He doesn't do more. He might average more blocks. He doesn't do more than Lou Dort.
Starting point is 01:47:24 On paper, he do more on film. No, he don't know. Oh, hell, hell, yeah. I'm with you with that. He's doing the dice out of that. He's doing what Dyson Daniels doing Dyson right there. Dyson deserve more credit. He do what you do, but he do it better.
Starting point is 01:47:40 O.G. Anna Nobly. He don't do, I don't think he do more than Lou. I don't think he do more than Lou. I don't think they do it better. I don't think they do it. I don't think they do it. Ceylon Brown shit, man. I don't.
Starting point is 01:47:52 I think it looks right. That's why Cason Wallace is in there and Lou Dord not. So where is what's the name at then? Who? So that means that would be the, Do they do first team? Not a chance. So that would be the first team.
Starting point is 01:48:04 So Casein Wallace does more than Alex Kutto for that thing? In theory, Swaggy, this would... That's how first team and second team does not work like that. But this is basically what it should look like. No, that ain't the way it worked. That's crazy.
Starting point is 01:48:15 So, North might make it. They might make it. They're not even on the list of the end of the defense of player earlier. This is crazy. Mark Gassal won the shit and got second team. All right, well. Sufficient defense of talk. Yeah, one of the motherfuck got second team.
Starting point is 01:48:33 One more topic we got to discuss today. Obviously, there was a ton of postseason games, ladies gentlemen. We have a finite amount of time in the show. We can't cover every single one of them. Got five minutes. You better talk about Boston. We'd be able to talk about Boston. Would you like to talk about Boston?
Starting point is 01:48:46 Okay. That's, what's going to do? But hey, so Celtics and Sisters opened their first round series Sunday. Oh, do you do Detroit. If they want to do Detroit? No, we're doing Boston. Okay, okay. Teams split the season series.
Starting point is 01:48:58 Jason Tatum did not play in any of those games. Sixers have dropped. Six straight playoff series against the Celtics. Haven't won a playoff series against Boston since 1982. A great year. A great clothing brand as well. If game one was any indication of what's to come, the streak will continue this year.
Starting point is 01:49:15 Let's take a look at the highlights. If we can, please, my good man, Carlos. Jays had their way in game one. Jason Tatum stuffed the stat sheet with 25 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists in 32 minutes of action. Jalen Brown led Boston with 26 points. on 11 of 21 shooting. Js were combined 20 or 38 from the field
Starting point is 01:49:38 and plus 43 in this game. So Boston outscored Philly 33 to 18 in the first quarter. Hold on. That's light skinned and excellence right there, ladies and gentlemen. 3318, the first quarter, had an 18 point lead at the break. What is drumming? So Boston held the Sixers to 39% shooting and 17% from three in the game.
Starting point is 01:50:08 So what's he doing? Celtics got the wire-to-wire 32-point blowout win over the Sixers. It's the largest playoff opening win in franchise history. Celtics fans also trolled Sixers fans with We Want Boston Chance, similar to the ones heard in Philly after the Sixers playing win over the Magic. Y'all said y'all wanted this noise. Balls'all case. The Sixers fan said y'all wanted this noise.
Starting point is 01:50:35 Spike, let's start with you. They suck defensive. I don't know if y'all. Oh, my God. That was nasty. No, they only, they asked, yeah. Yeah, they... Yo, what is Drummond doing on the pick?
Starting point is 01:50:44 Stop reaching. They suck. No, stop reaching. And then, like, though, he's just reaching every time. They just, bha, bah, bah. He was done. Stop reaching. A defense player a year almost one time?
Starting point is 01:50:54 Who? Drumming? No. You never been there? What? Well, what's the guy got to start reaching? What statement did Jason Tatum and Jalen Brown making the Celtics blowout win over the Sixers in game one?
Starting point is 01:51:05 Yeah. What statement? Final. Finals. That we playing Philly again. Finals. You said finals? Finos.
Starting point is 01:51:13 Right, yeah. The first game is a statement? Yeah, Finos. Yeah. That we playing Philly again, that's all. They said they won their boss again. Couldn't beat them with the best thing. Paul George is.
Starting point is 01:51:25 No end beat. After decked me. They ain't gonna beat them now. It doesn't matter who you put in front of them. Yeah, nah. It's... No matter who you put in front of them. You got Jamlin Brown playing like that and...
Starting point is 01:51:41 That ain't... Shit, that ain't what being... I think the magic would have been a better match up with them. I think the magic's a better matchup than they are. They really don't know... I don't think Philly know how to play without him, man. To be honest, they don't look good without him out there because they need some of them. somebody else out there other than Maxie. Paul George is not the same Paul George.
Starting point is 01:52:04 You can't depend on VJ yet. He's not that guy that you go say, go give me a bucket and do it consistently. And they defense, they don't seem like they're on the stream with or without them be. They're just terrible defensively. Oh yeah, they're bad defensively all year long. So you got offensive jugger than that's coming in there. You're talking about two guys that really know what they're doing. Like we know how to get around this shit, get through this shit.
Starting point is 01:52:25 You're going to have to stop us literally, stop us. You don't got no stoppers on the floor. more. PG not a stopper, Kelly not a stopper, VJ not a stopper. He can be a stopper. I like Vijay. He can play enough to be a stopper. Maxi not a stopper. These ain't none of the guy now you look at drumming. He ain't no stopper. Whoever the other dude number 30 is, he ain't no stopper. He's the best that you have as a rim protector in Bona. Bona. Bona. He ain't no stopper, but he plays his position. Because he's athletic alone but he's... He don't know what to do yet though. File prone. Right. So if you put him
Starting point is 01:52:58 against them two monsters coming down hill. Ain't nothing you can do. You're depending on rotations now. No. Houser over there, Pritchard over there. They got guys who can hit shots. Vooch over there. Man, it's dead in the world.
Starting point is 01:53:11 Derek White over there hitting shots. They play defense, though. And they got... They play team. They play team defense. They play team defense. They play team defense. They were frustrating.
Starting point is 01:53:21 That's what I'm saying. Well, you don't got nobody to get you extra buckets, though. Like, you ain't throwing it to somebody to get their attention off you. They like each other. You know a Pellas. You got to try to be easy money. You got a team that's playing for each other. It's hard.
Starting point is 01:53:33 You got to try to get easy buckets in the playoffs. And Philly doesn't have an easy bucket situation, not playing against this team. Because the way Boston is defended, the way they defended all year. Man. And now, yeah, they got multiple guys to throw that, yeah, they defended, man. So you think that Boston feels some type of way about that OKC championship as Taiton went down and they were actually building on the dynasty type of situation over there in Boston. Tatum
Starting point is 01:54:02 goes down. They had a year that they have. They missed the playoffs. OK.C. wins. Were the Celtics beating the Knicks with or without Jason Tatum, is the question. But, yeah, I'm telling it. Goes down, though, don't he? They were getting smacking. It looked like they took their formula. Getting Jason Tatum back,
Starting point is 01:54:19 getting Jason Tatum back as a boost, though. I'm not going to front. It helps them so much. Huh? Of course. It's, like, in the fact of that he's coming back, he's still not all the way 100, but just him out there just changes everything for them. Exactly what we were saying about the KD situation with Houston.
Starting point is 01:54:39 70% of him, 80% of him, right? What y'all was saying from the beginning, when we thought he should have set out, y'all was saying him at 80 is better than none, right? So that's the, yeah. So you think right now though, you got the Knicks and the Pistons being the only people that's, the only two teams that's in the way of the Celtics? Do the Celtics take them out? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:55:01 And then take whoever. Whoever. Whoever is on the West. Whoever's on the West? That's going to be a fade. It's a fade, for sure. Yeah, I'll take Boston to come out to east. Yep.
Starting point is 01:55:11 Like, this is not true. I got Boston coming out. They've been there. What about the people? They've been there. That's what I was about to say, Cleveland is a sleeper. You said, who?
Starting point is 01:55:19 Cleveland is a sleeper. The Cleveland. Come on, man. Boston Celtics. They better get, they better get, they better get back. They're going to get
Starting point is 01:55:27 out of here in the first round. Detroit's out of here. I think Detroit gets by the magic, but they're looking very full-casey. No, they're out of here. No, because Orlando turning it into who, they got confidence right now. They needed that.
Starting point is 01:55:40 They needed that playing. What they did to the Hornet. They needed that. It did, I said the same thing. It started the season we thought it was going to see. Yes, because they damn nearly almost lost the whole season. Jamal over there looking crazy. Who did they get fired?
Starting point is 01:55:55 Whether or not of y'all, win or lose. Win or lose. A winner of the Pistons Magic Series. I like... Caves do advance past the Raptors, which is looking like... The Raptors looking trash as fuck, boy. The Cavs got a little... It depends on what happened in that first.
Starting point is 01:56:08 The Calf has got an easier. He looks like a real pro out there, bro. He looked like he don't care about MVP or not, but I'm really him. That's how he looks out there. If they can stay healthy, which is always a big issue. That's going to be a... I think they move to number two.
Starting point is 01:56:21 You know, somebody will get sick. Go down. No, not this thing. I hope not. They look good, though. Who look good? They're playing the rapids. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 01:56:33 They're playing the Raptors and then if- Raptors is trash though. Yeah. They look trashed. Out of all the East teams, they look the worst. They look better than the Phillie. They look better than Philly. That's why them games come on furze.
Starting point is 01:56:43 They look just like the piss. That's why them games come on first. Because they got to do two national-huffing. Yeah, they're motherfucking four o'clock. Man, they're low budget. They got the first. They got the low budget. The low budget hucks to me though.
Starting point is 01:56:53 Hawks are better than them. Hawks better than them. I know, but I said the low budget hogs. They're like long all long on the same time. Yeah. Yeah. Man, RJ Baird, boy, best thing on their team. Dookie, man. Do you think, Ben and Scott?
Starting point is 01:57:09 Yeah, as far as going to go get one. Yeah, going to get one. He's going to go get one. R.J. don't give a fuck. He's going to go left hand or not. He's going to go get it. True. But Brandon Ingram looked like he lost in the sauce out there. Scotty just looked like I'm just going to get him. That's some question. Well, comments after game one did not improve upon that game one. performance in game. Seven points.
Starting point is 01:57:28 Three for 15, I believe, didn't score in the first half I'm not. I'm sorry. It's like he never really turned. Who? Brandon Ingram, like he has it. One speed. 21 a game this year, I think.
Starting point is 01:57:39 Hey, 19, 21. Yeah, it's one, hey, one speed. Take that away. You got to work on something else. You got to take that away. Hey, that boy play here. Hey, I'm fucking here. God damn it.
Starting point is 01:57:51 You got to take it up. Hey, change some shit. Shit. And that shit, that shit easy to... He got laid back. Yeah, that's the same thing with Scottie, though. I say the same. They got three guys that do the same type of shit.
Starting point is 01:58:06 They don't really change their game. All three of them, they... Bufucus, just stay right here. You got to go up, bro. He's asking for most shots. So you put Chris Paul out there. Hey, how many years Brandon Ingram got? Seven.
Starting point is 01:58:21 Say it again? No, he played. He was my rookie, so. How many? Right there. 10? He's about 10? Yeah, B.I.
Starting point is 01:58:27 Yeah, B.I played for a while. 10 seasons. 10. This is 10. 10. That's what I say. Time for that conversation. That really is like you know.
Starting point is 01:58:37 I see you talking about the conversation. I mean, just saying, just conversations. I mean, we see Wimby, we see all these young guys coming in. It's going to be all those guys that's 10, 11, 12 years in. Time for them conversations. So I have a question. So what you're saying there, right? What's that?
Starting point is 01:58:52 Half. The teams that B.I. has been on, right? Have they tried to force him into something that he's not? No. Pelicans didn't. Number one? Yeah, everybody meant on one. Because Zion's there.
Starting point is 01:59:08 What happened with the Lakers? It was the All-Star. With the Lakers? Lakers, he was on the store? Let's start with the Lakers situation, right? Yeah. Was they... Trying to make him?
Starting point is 01:59:19 Was it? Yeah, I thought it was. But Coos was there. He was the top five. He was a top five pick, right? It was him first. It was there before. I think, but I think they were, it was his team.
Starting point is 01:59:28 It was his team and it was. He was in. But it was one year that was that defense. But then it was it. That was like J.R. Smith. When he was in New Orleans, you get that one year, you can do it. Yeah, one year, then Zion. He was in New Orleans with Zion.
Starting point is 01:59:41 Zion was, so, Zion was there. CJ was there? CJ was there. But Zion was out most of that time. Okay. He was all star out there. It's supposed to be here. It's supposed to be here.
Starting point is 01:59:50 Yeah, yeah. So. And then Zion. Like, 24 a game, maybe. Oh, he's a one-time officer? Yeah. I'm praying a thing. Okay, I mean.
Starting point is 01:59:59 But I'm just starting to think, had they four. I just look at his game and how he plays. Too smooth. He's too cool. I think you need, you need, you need, like, Dylan Brooks and. Like, somebody need to piss him off. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:00:14 You need somebody. You need other guys around. New time also? Two times. 20, 20, 26. Yeah, you need other guys around him, I think, right? I think you need other guys around him. Pre-bulb?
Starting point is 02:00:23 And he still would be him. How much? Who is personality? Why? Like the KD. He's like a low budget, KD. No. Could have been there.
Starting point is 02:00:33 No. He said what he's supposed to. But his demeanor, though. He don't shoot it like that. I'm about to say, KD. But he was supposed to do. Nah, he don't fuck it like that. But that's what he was supposed to be, though.
Starting point is 02:00:44 I didn't think he got there. They were supposed to be there. I don't think he got there. Yes. Attribute. They were. They were going to compare him. Attributes, yes.
Starting point is 02:00:53 Attributes, yes. I didn't like it at all. No, I... Attributes. I ain't saying. Long-on-the-ard way. Release one on the shot, frame, all of those things. I see where people were heading with it.
Starting point is 02:01:05 Yeah, yeah. I saw it. You got, we got a reference another player, bro. Another player. And that's nothing against him, but... I see where they were headed with it. Yeah, they were trying to say that, though, bro. They were reaching, yes.
Starting point is 02:01:18 But I see where the reach was heading. They said that they were reaching the right direction. Even when the All-Star game, they started saying that shit too. Because the attributes and skill set and how he built and police point and he's just. Kevin Durant though. Yeah, I know, I know. I know. I know when I heard it, I was like question my and I was like, okay, I see the little.
Starting point is 02:01:39 Kevin, he had 22, he had 22 when he got the All-Star bill. I was talking about who else? Oh, you're talking about this old, oh, okay, D. Who else have played? That's what I was trying to think who else he played this way like long? Really good, really good. You know who played? But it was like...
Starting point is 02:01:57 I mean, shit, you got... I mean, at his business you got Danny Granger. You got... Dany Granger. You got... Austin Day, they try to make him like a cage. You got Jafrin. But Austin Day can play, though.
Starting point is 02:02:08 He can shoot the ball. But everybody that was... Austin Day. They tried to say what they're going to be... Yeah, yeah. I know. That's the same shit I did. See, that's a bad comparison.
Starting point is 02:02:19 The I was different, though. Biont. Right, Michael Jordan. motherfucking. The next Michael Joy, like, let's stop this shit, man. He's the next Kevin Durant. We stopped this shit, man. Boston, didn't they get the African, the skinny.

Starting point is 02:02:53 comparing some of these dudes, like just... Yeah, yeah, just let them become them, because that's a lot of pressure. Yeah. But I don't think, so his game is what it is. It's just smooth. I think him being out there with other guys, like a facilitator
Starting point is 02:03:07 that he can just stand over there and make shots and there's no pressure, I think B.I. Career would have been a lot different. Yeah, he played like John Simmons. He's just taller. Huh? Played like John Simmons. He's just taller. Well, Joe, what about Travis Outlaw?
Starting point is 02:03:18 John Simmons was smooth. Man, there they go. Travis Outlaw. You ain't even don't remember Travis Outlaw. Oh, I'm thinking a bow outlaw. You're thinking the bow out of him. You know, Travis Outlaw used to get buckets, man. Six-nine, athletic.
Starting point is 02:03:31 He's not just smooth, though. He's way more smoother, but. Travis, all that play hard. And he didn't handle the ball like that. He handled more like John Sammons, like he said. Like John Samuels was a more that smooth. He wasn't six-nine. Yeah, no, BIA.
Starting point is 02:03:43 I just think, yeah, but it's over. Cleveland go do what they do to, they're going to bone these people. Who Cleveland got second? Second round. The winner of Detroit, Orlando. Yeah, Cleveland Orlando Cleveland Orlando Cleveland Orlando
