And as always, if you can't watch the show with us on YouTube, we got audio versions available on Apple, Spotify, wherever you get your podcasts from. So let's get into it. If y'all need catering for a thing, I know like a company.
Starting point is 00:03:50 I mean, I know some... I know a catering company that can cater and we can sell plates. Can we get some of my oxtails? Hey, listen, somebody make a meeting. Hey, them oxtails were hitting. Hey, well, I know a catering company called Nibbles. Okay. Nibbles Catering. What I'm talking about. Nibbles Catering. The Martins. Hey, listen, I'm were hit. Hey, I know a catering company called nibbles. Okay nibbles catering We don't do about catering the Martins. Hey, listen, I'm just saying I
Starting point is 00:04:11 Can vouch? I don't do underdog Put the bread up on the ground dude. They gonna pay like they normally do Hey, let me wave, baby. Heavy, heavy. So, obviously, it's a big night tonight in college basketball national championship game. But let's just talk about the state of college hoops, especially NIL, which is name, image, likeness. A lot of big bread going on. So, with NIL changing the landscape of how players are recruited and retained in today's NCAA, we heard Nick Saban complaining about this to Congress recently,
Starting point is 00:04:50 but I have to ask, how would you have handled the NIL era? Ty, we'll start with you. You're our guest of honor. How would I handle it? I mean, I went to UNC, so they're obviously giving out pretty bags over there. But funny story, when I was in, I think it was my junior year at UNC, I always noticed they had our jerseys, they had everything in the stands think it was my junior year at UNC, I always noticed, like, they had our jerseys. They had everything in the stands. We was on games and stuff like that.
Starting point is 00:05:12 So you remember they had something that you had to sign to give your likeness away? Yeah. For about, I'll say, a month and a half. I didn't sign it. Had UNC mad at me, NCAA mad at me. So I was like, no, I'm not getting paid for it. Why do I get my likeness away? So when this came out, that's when I was like, okay, all right, now we're making a turn into how it should be mm-hmm you know saying I know we get you know What's it called scholarships?
Starting point is 00:05:30 But they're making way more money off these players than just a scholarship so Scholarship the NIL feel 100% 100% with it. I love it scholarship was not sufficient bread shout out to you in the system Obviously ruffling some feathers. You need some reparations for all that you did for UNC being an All-American over there. Raising a banner. But, you know,
Starting point is 00:05:51 you'd have been about your bread. Oh, yeah, yeah. I was already about it back then. So you already know. You already know. A lot of us
Starting point is 00:05:58 was getting NIL cracking before it was faster. Wait, before. Yeah. Figuring out ways. Some tickets might have came up missing. Some merchandise might have been getting eBayed, hypothetically.
Starting point is 00:06:09 But Kenyon, obviously, played a year at Cincinnati. The man in college. How would you have handled the NIL era? It would have been dope, like, my senior year. Because I wasn't really a name and all that shit till then. So I would have to stay where I was, wasn't under that transfer and all that, just chasing money. If you was at a university then, that's where you were known. So, and you needed that following because social media and all that shit wasn't a thing. So you needed that brand and that staple for that university
Starting point is 00:06:46 for people to know that. But no, it would have been great my senior year because just thinking back and knowing, like going around the city of Cincinnati at the time, like my face was everywhere. Going to grocery stores, on buses, bus stops, billboards, like everywhere. With no bread. No bread. That's a scholarship check. You had to stretch it. Couldn't go eat with a coach or nothing. They'd be like, $10 meal, they over here. McDonald's? Yeah, McDonald's, they flagging you. Oh yeah, you got this meal? Oh no, see we was supposed to, you know, so you got to make ways, man. You got to find a way.
Starting point is 00:07:22 Yeah. Right? And we... There was definitely some... Oh, Statue of Libertation was inspired. Yeah. Selling shoes and shit. We was good. Game thinking. Whatever you do, I haven't even get your hand on some extra money.
Starting point is 00:07:35 You know what I'm saying? Like, you... You've told stories about... We was good. In your college days, forging basketballs to get the hookup at Tony Roma's and other restaurants. Whoa, whoa, whoa. That's cap. We was forging basketballs to get the hookup at Tony Roma's and other restaurants. Whoa, that's cap. We was forging
Starting point is 00:07:48 the balls to sell them because it was paying high value price. And then it was like leverage. It was leveraging companies. People wanted this. This autograph signed ball was like having Michael Jordan on it. People did
Starting point is 00:08:04 a lot of things for this Okay, this is a they get your daughter up on this one. Oh That's it like so, you know what we'll do is we'll go to like Foot Locker and stuff like this and this was like credit It was like good credit like first one like some George drop there put shows your stuff to the side Every journey I take leaves a lasting impact. Traveling the world only makes me realize just how much more there is to explore. No one builds a legacy by standing still.
Starting point is 00:08:38 Start your journey at remover.com. Meet Tim's new Oreo Mocha Ice Caps with Oreo in every sip. Perfect for listening to the A-side. Or B-side. Or Bull-side. Order yours on the Tim's app today at participating restaurants in Canada for a limited time. Like Tony Roma's was, uh, wait, Tony Roma's, that's what we ate. Like P.F. Chain's.
Starting point is 00:09:04 P.F. Chain's. Uh, what was that? Fine French. Out P of Chains. P of Chains. What was that? Fine French. Outback Steakhouse. Outback Cheese Steakhouse. Like places like that. Chili's. The Arizona Wildcats basketball team had its own like literal account, right?
Starting point is 00:09:15 So we just charge it to the team, right? So, you know, we take our dates there. We didn't spend no money. Shout out Louie. We wasn't starving, I can tell. Let's put it like this. I got drafted in the NBA, and I made a statement that said, I took a pay cut coming to this month.
Starting point is 00:09:33 That lets you know how good it was at Arizona. I took a pay cut coming. So you're not even really worried about the NIL era. Ludo, some visionary predecessor, rest in peace. But NIL visionary, you saw the vision early on. Even like little things like this. They don't do it anymore. But back then, you know what, just discredit everything I say.
Starting point is 00:09:53 It's all legend. Yeah, legend. It's a legend how you want to use it. We have a cat car. Yes. Whatever it's called. Right? It's your meal prep.
Starting point is 00:10:02 You know, just sometimes it was just, I don't know, sometimes for two years it was unlimited. Right? You know, unlimited, right? You know, you're a regular student and $20 for your meal?
Starting point is 00:10:12 Give me $10 and I'll swipe it for you. Yeah. Uh-huh. Next. Yeah. Shh. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:17 Yeah. You know, so we walked around three, four, $10,000 in the pocket at all times because this motherfucker just,
Starting point is 00:10:23 it just didn't run out. Some players, shit just didn't run out. Some players just didn't run out. So I'll give you another legend story. I went to UCLA. We had the Bruin card. We had a Panda Express. It was borrows and all that on campus doing the same thing. And our school issued sweatsuits standing in front of the register.
Starting point is 00:10:39 How much? It's 20. What you got in your pocket? What you got in your pocket? You get 40% off. Just give me the straight cash. Didn't have unlimited bread, but we thought we were gaming the system. It's 20 years. What you got in your pocket? What you got in your pocket? You get 40% off. Just give me the straight cash. Let me get... Didn't have unlimited bread,
Starting point is 00:10:47 but we thought we were gaming the system, but now looking back, probably not a good idea. Ours, yeah. Ours didn't run out for some reason. But Brandon,
Starting point is 00:10:53 you were on Jeff Teague's Club 520 podcast recently, and he detailed how good you were in the AAU days leading up to your college decision. Let me tell you about these niggas at ABCD camp, man. It's him and Isaiah Thomas.
Starting point is 00:11:06 Like, nobody knows me. I'm in the back of the line waiting for my jersey and shoes. Him and IT come out the back. Two boxes of shoes, sweatshirts, all type of shit. I'm like, damn, everybody get that shit? I get up to the line, them motherfuckers hand me my shoes. They ain't even in a box. They hand me my two like this.
Starting point is 00:11:22 Like, here you go, bro. What the fuck? That's when i knew those niggas was different bro but brandon for you who were some college who were some hoopers that caught your attention before the college level before the college level um i mean i gotta go through all the la hoopers you know you got poo jetter you know marcus william. Shout out to Poo. You know, Marcus Williams. Shout out to him. And Willie. Jordan Farmer. Aaron Afalo.
Starting point is 00:11:49 And these are guys that used to come pull up with us when we was in high school playing with SCA at Ocean View High School. So, you know, Cedric Bozeman and all these guys. So, you know, the L.A., you know, L.A. for college, I mean, it was so heavy. You know, I was around all those guys. So, growing up, seeing all those guys, you know, those were like the start of it all. So you were supposed to go to University of Arizona. Fair enough.
Starting point is 00:12:11 I don't know why you would do that, but more power to you. As I mentioned earlier... Well, I wasn't going to play for Ben Holland. I just told you everything we was getting there, boy. They didn't have nothing with the women that was there with half naked all the time. No beaches, no Playboy. Yeah, and I'm not going to put Arizona as the reason why I finished high school, too, by the way. Yeah, you know, the alumni. Okay.
Starting point is 00:12:35 Shout out to Arizona. They take care of you, boy. For sure. I was locked in. I was locked in. But, Brandon, you famously skipped college and went to play in Italy. Yeah. Before going pro, forging a new path.
Starting point is 00:12:51 Would you have stayed in the States and played college ball if NIL existed in your era? If Luke Olsen was still there, I still would have been Arizona. Okay. I would have stayed for sure for Luke. Just because Luke, you know, for him, from Josh Pastner and all the alumni that were there, I mean, I was getting taken care of very well so but yeah if Luke don't make the decision to retire I'm I'm a I'm a Wildcat number one player in the country coming out of high school what level of bag would you have demanded from looting Arizona Wildcats to get you into Tucson um, before I even got there, I probably would have got $3 million.
Starting point is 00:13:31 We would have gave it to me. Write that check. We rich out there. So, like, I already would have had money. So, I don't even think that would have been, like, it wouldn't even have been about the money. It would have just been more about, like, just being taken care of, which I was, that was fun. Like, my recruiting trip with me and Joe Bayless, we went to Mexico. So you know, we were-
Starting point is 00:13:52 Y'all went to Mexico? Yeah, we had Cristal bottles, everything. You know, like you said, bro, I was going there. There was no way I was leaving Arizona. The way they had it set up and the way we were set up like Yeah, I was cool. Once you cross that border as an 18 year old You're not a ain't even gonna lie. You know how we brag about the things we get right? You know, we have a group chat. It's all
Starting point is 00:14:15 Alumni's right and me and Richard talking about the little shit. Yeah, I had GS 400 had the big rims on it, and then I had five TVs. Well, yeah, what y'all have? And then you see a number come in and say, yeah, that's what y'all had? Shit, I had a Rollie for every day of the week. Who the fuck is this?
Starting point is 00:14:42 Somebody was like, yeah, that's Damon Stoudemire. Oh, my God. Damon's like, yeah, I had 2G, Wang, I had this, this. He'd be like, oh, man. Hey, man, someone kick this motherfucker out of here. But yeah, no, Tucson, I got my first tattoos there. That's when I first got my first ink. Oh, really?
Starting point is 00:15:03 Yeah, my first ink. On a recruiting trip? Yeah, on a recruiting trip. I turned 18, left Oak Hill. That's when I got got my first ink. Oh, really? Yeah, my first ink. On a recruiting trip? Yeah, on a recruiting trip. I turned 18, left Oak Hill. That's when I got kicked out of Oak Hill, because I left campus, because I was like, I'm out. I'm going to Arizona.
Starting point is 00:15:12 After I had my Arizona trip, I'm like, I don't need to go back to Oak Hill. I could just finish my senior year somewhere over here. But I got a tattoo, went to Mexico, was popping Cristal. Yeah, it was off the chain. I mean, know from ok to that you like Ryan never going back okay never I had a ball and we was in the Range Rover back then too yeah had a driver like a sense that's all over the you know small North Carolina man No George wasn't coming back helping
Starting point is 00:15:49 So good was good my senior I was Sure, when I got well, I was good. I won't for shit trust Oh, we was this is I was that early on but I had to work for mine, but I was good 99 We was bigger than the Suns We was it I get his sons. Oh? We was big into the Suns. We was popular. The Suns was like, they wasn't them.
Starting point is 00:16:12 Coming down, I don't want to bust the girls out. I was sleeping with the same ones. They were making that two-hour drive, or did you have to drive to Phoenix? Oh, it was two hours? They were coming on down. This one came on down. that two-hour drive, Garrett, or did you have to drive to Phoenix? Oh, it was two hours? Why? Look at him.
Starting point is 00:16:26 They're coming on down. This one's getting down. Ladies. Tucson is cracking. When we go to play ASU. Oh, yeah. Sneaking away from NBA players. That's what's it.
Starting point is 00:16:36 You used to know how cocky dog I was. You know how cocky the women made me feel back then? And you from L.A.? Arizona State used to have the Suns cheerleaders. And you from L.A. too? We had the Sun LA Arizona State used to have the Suns here late Oh, we had the Suns cheer like another social and I'm just I'm saying to be at the game Performing at the Arizona State games back in the day for those of us memories But so good you often tell us you didn't care about classes in school
Starting point is 00:16:57 No, you know you majored in basketball. Let's talk some bread. How much money do you think you'd be making? If you were playing at the University of Arizona nowadays? I was ranked 99. I probably wouldn't have gotten no... I mean, he was thinking about reinsuring me, so I wouldn't have gotten no bag. I can tell you that. Going into that sophomore year, though.
Starting point is 00:17:22 Going into the sophomore year? Nothing like these guys. Nah. that going into that sophomore year though on into the sophomore year nothing like these guys that nah nah I wouldn't I'm dying I wouldn't got no NL bag fuck you paying me for no McDonald's all about me one at the McDonald's game probably probably would have gave me one thing I said's game. They probably would have gave me one at the McDonald's game. I was going to say, what most people, they're coming into it with the bag. I don't... I didn't have that type of bag name. That's not...
Starting point is 00:17:57 I feel like you would have been able to negotiate in between those two seasons. I would probably have some little local deals and shit. I'd probably have a little car company right here, a little Radio Shack type shit. Radio Shack? I got some little had some little local deals and shit. I'm probably shut a little car company right here little Radio Shack type shit Free shit blockbuster deal unlimited DVD VHS shit going on no rewind just not on the same way by rewinding. I wouldn't had no big major I didn't have that. I didn't have that background and that name. Shit, I would have added it up. I would have been that dude.
Starting point is 00:18:28 I would have had about 42 deals, everything about $1,500. The same shit, like when people talk about NIL deals, right? Like the names, they would have had the big companies. I would have just been, I would have been. You would have been Pete Rose. I would have just had a whole little $500 deal, little Uber deal, little Uber deal right here.
Starting point is 00:18:49 Little coffee cafe, little moms and pops. All right, hey, bring it. Bring it over here. Give me a little $500 over here. I smile. I smile for this poster, god damn it. Hey, look, they got Coca-Cola. I got RC around this place. Hey, RC, hey! RC called it delicious beverage.
Starting point is 00:19:07 That would have been me, man. So I get mellow yellow type of fucking drinks. Not Mountain Dew. You had Mountain Dew. I didn't even know Mountain Dew. Mellow yellow. Wow. Mellow yellow.
Starting point is 00:19:16 Wow. That's crazy. Drinking mellow yellow is the same shit. So, Ty, you won a chip with UNC 2009. What was your favorite memory from that season? The favorite memory of that season on the court off the court Give us both go on the court first, but I'm more interested in off the court But hit us with on the court for now on the court. Just you know celebrate my brothers, you know Wayne
Starting point is 00:19:40 Tyler Bobby because we've been through so much we was there for three years together So just winning that and they were just to say we accomplished something was cool. And I'll say off the court, it's probably the parties afterwards. You know what I'm saying? Like, I remember this one time that, so we was having a house party at Marcus Gingar, Tyler's house. Like, it was kind of wild. And so I'll probably say, like, 1 a.m., Marcus says, come in the room. So I walk in the room, and it's, like like 1 a.m. Marcus says, come in the room. So I walk in the room and it's like just a shorty.
Starting point is 00:20:08 I don't know if he was what he did. He talked to her, whatever, but she was passed the fuck out. So I used to always play around with Tyler. I'll be doing something like just that's why they call me. Was it was it Dennis the Midness? Mm hmm. So I know he's uptight. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:20:22 He knows he's all about, you know, you know what I'm saying, doing everything straightforward. So I walk into his room and I'm like, yo, bruh, there's a girl passed out. I don't know what Marcus did, and I'm acting like just real jittery. I was like, yo, we gotta get out of here. We're about to be in a league in a couple days. You know what I'm saying? We gotta go.
Starting point is 00:20:36 He gets up like, oh, yeah, you're right. He leaves the door, hits his truck. I ain't seen him for a week. Nigga was gone. I was like, yo, Tyler, where, he went and answered nobody. And I was like, yo, I'm just playing around with you. But that's how, you know what I'm saying? To this day, we still have video cameras of this, because we had, like, you know, iPhone.
Starting point is 00:20:51 I think that's when the first iPhone came out or whatever. Or we had Bobby talking about it. Like, everybody's just going crazy in it. But that was probably one of my best memories, because we was just having fun being kids. When you know you don't have to, you got to be, you know, basketball-oriented the whole time. But just being kids. When you know you don't have to, you got to be, you know, basketball-oriented the whole time.
Starting point is 00:21:07 But just being kids with them, that was the funnest moments. For those of you who heard stories about just, you know, you talk about UNC, dedicated alumni, but nice nightlife scene. Oh, yeah. Tobacco road, Duke right down the street. Just how cracking it turned up that you guys have it after winning that show? Oh, man, every day. I'm going to the frat houses, going to Duke, going to NC State just everywhere is just basically a party. I also went to the HBCUs, I'm at
Starting point is 00:21:32 A&T, I was everywhere but class. Everywhere but class. I had to... Important things to do. Important things to do. So... Man, that's how many colleges was in that area? Dog, in Central, there's like it's probably at least 10 to 12 high point all that was how and it's small radius or in like 30 minute radius That's nothing that's popping yeah, yeah, we're going straight to Greensboro practice one Greensboro say hours for the next. Yeah, that's nothing. You hit that 10, it gets very lonely on that drive to Tucson. I'm just saying, like, but y'all do run that city, though. There's nothing else going on out there. Yeah, that's nothing.
Starting point is 00:22:13 Damn. But as it relates to this year's tournament, one of the great stories has been NC State's magical run. A lot of holes, man. Led by DJ Burns. That's a lot of holes. Man, that's a lot of women. Bro, I'm about to say, that's a lot of women. I lot of went bro. I'm gonna say that's a lot of women
Starting point is 00:22:25 I say no, no, it was cracking. I'm so that's what I'm saying. I'm sitting like well Duke State NC State Everyone it's a lot of women we're everyone that tobacco row and you know, and then y'all the biggest thing We in there, bro. I'm telling you. Yeah. That's Tyler Lowe. That's Tyler Lowe. He plays for us. He plays for us. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He put that powder blue on. You say dad's pushing their daughter their way?
Starting point is 00:22:50 Yeah, like, yo. He play on the team. That's Tyler. Yeah, yeah. He play on the team. He going to the league. He's like, yeah, yeah, go ahead. I'm at the house and everything.
Starting point is 00:22:58 He got game. You know what I mean? Like, he's just, yeah. Yeah, I'm in there. Blue chip. I'm in there. I'm in there. Yeah. Well, let's talk a little bit about this year's tournament. One of the greater stories has been NC State's magical run,
Starting point is 00:23:09 led by DJ Burns. He recently hosted a meet and greet at a local Applebee's, and there was a huge turnout. No word if our very own Rashad McCants was there. But the Applebee's was cracking. Damn. Damn. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:24 Kids just tearing in. Yeah, that is turnt up. So, Kenny, I'll start with you. Cincinnati. What's it like being a local celebrity in a college town? Oh, shit. It's dope. You be the man that everybody need and want something from you.
Starting point is 00:23:44 As a kid, can't ask for nothing more. You know what I'm saying? Everybody needed and wants something from you. As a kid, no, that's... Can't ask for nothing more, you know what I'm saying? You're working on your craft and being recognized for that. Yeah, it don't get no better than seeing that. Like, something like that, no, it's... Yeah, no, it's just... Yeah, because I look at it from, like, when I got hurt, right?
Starting point is 00:24:08 I had to move at my apartment. Like, it was a real thing. I had to move. You had to move? I had to move. I went and checked into a hotel. Because, like, people just, like, found out how they got mad, whatever it was. It was just dropping shit off at the house.
Starting point is 00:24:26 Like, at my apartment, like, just flowers, bears, all kind of shit. Like, just leaving shit outside. That's kind of like you had to move and stuff. Oh, yeah, no, yeah. It was a real thing. So, no, to be the man in a small town like Cincinnati and get the love, you go to restaurants, all that kind of shit as a 19, 20, 21-year-old. You can't, yeah, that shit dope.
Starting point is 00:24:50 And then let's talk about yourself. Tucson, obviously University of Arizona, really the only thing going out there. Mm-hmm. You guys, well, McHale held like 20,000 people in there. I just remember the atmosphere around it because we would get some of the trickle-down effect as a road team coming in. With all the activity and action. And we used to stay at that little Marriott right on campus and just make that move to the Circle K when we got in, but just walking up that street. A lot of stuff going on.
Starting point is 00:25:14 So what was it like for you to be a local celebrity in Tucson? I mean, it was like really great when, you know, I did leave campus, right? You know, for the most part, I was just at the gym all the time, just working out. But I remember the funniest thing is when I got there, I was 17, so they put my age in the paper, and every high school senior was sending letters, saying if I could take them to the prom.
Starting point is 00:25:42 They did that both years. Both years I was there, prom, prom, prom. I'm like, I'm a college kid now. I'm a college kid. I can't mess with little high school girls. Then realized because of my age, all the college girls,
Starting point is 00:25:58 no. No holler for a girl? None. None. There was no college snatch for me. I get no none. No, no, there's no college snatch for me like that I was back in high school It was some seniors baby. I was with the senior class. I was this my senior class. I'm with the secret I can't go I can't go to the problem with you, but what's happening? Was that a me get you had the Sonics?
Starting point is 00:26:20 I got signing money for you Everybody watching the show Richard 17 rolled in the city, baby Everybody watching the show give you graduate high school in class in 99, but it really should have been class of 2000 Yeah, yeah So I was then like and then it was a couple girls on campus that was like 17 to they was young So other but other than that the girls I was 18 they wasn't fucking with me like that. So brainer for you Not doing the costume thing, did you ever regret or miss out on
Starting point is 00:26:48 not having that college experience? Probably just the women. How easy it would have been to get into like that. So you were struggling over there in Italy, huh? No, I mean, I wasn't struggling. I mean, I had euros. So we used to go to the whorehouses. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:27:03 So like in college, I just felt like me scoring 30 every night, I would have been able to, I mean, not scoring 30, but just, you know, putting on a Wildcat uniform. It would have been easier for me. So he was a trick already. Huh? He was tricking. Savvy investor.
Starting point is 00:27:20 Savvy investor. I mean. Savvy investor. I mean, 200, 300-year-olds. I mean. 300-year-olds. When in Rome. I mean, yeah. When in Rome. when in Rome, I mean, when in Rome, in Barcelona, you in a club with 100 women and they all look good. I mean, you know, savvy investment.
Starting point is 00:27:37 Investing in your future very early. Wait, wait, wait. You banned. You banned from China because. I am not banned. But. We got a ball. I have my fun out there. Oh, yeah. But... We got a ball hunt. I had my fun out there.
Starting point is 00:27:47 Yeah, we... KTV. It was like... Oh, the KTV. The KTV was off the chain. There was too much karaoke going on, man. Yeah. I mean, yeah, but... The clubs was popping, though, right?
Starting point is 00:27:55 Cracking. You know what I'm saying? So you go to, like, Guangzhou and all that. Oh, yeah. They dress like us, too. They dress like us in everything. Everything. That was the fun.
Starting point is 00:28:03 Like, I'm going to lie. Like, club? Like, club? I'm in Shanghai. Shanghai was the fun. I'm going to lie. Club? I'm in Shanghai. Shanghai, too. So I'm in Shanghai, and I go to the club, right? That was an experience. I've never seen anything like that. The problem with that is they didn't have no age limit.
Starting point is 00:28:20 So 13, 14, if they had money, they was getting in. There was no leaving. They had money. They was getting in. There was no leaving. Like, they had money, they was getting in. But they had, like, games. They was having fun. Like, I never seen a little dice shit. Yeah, dice joint. I never seen so many bottles bought in my life.
Starting point is 00:28:35 Yeah. Especially with the beer, they were bringing a caseload up to here. And they would finish it. I'm like, oh, y'all, they would finish the whole thing. Yeah, motherfuckers sitting there just like. That motherfucker sitting there just dragged out. Getting dragged out. Wake up, drink some more. I was like, yo, this shit kind of...
Starting point is 00:28:50 So you were not banned from China? Huh? No, I was banned from the league for a little bit. CBA league. Okay. I wasn't doing anything in there. If you've seen the photo, I'm pretty sure y'all seen the photo, right?
Starting point is 00:29:05 Little girl was just dancing. Little girl, she was 20. No, no, I'm just saying. When I say little, because they little, they're not big. She was dancing on me. But the whole night, I'm doing mosh pit with all the...
Starting point is 00:29:15 Like, I'm dancing with them. You know how they like the beatbox and all that? I'm in the middle. I got videos of it right now. But they took that one little thing because I wouldn't sign back with Fuji N. Because they... I signed for us
Starting point is 00:29:25 I'm for the 800,000 that took them the furthest they went and next year. I'm not playing for 800 I need at least one eight. Yeah, so up top is that's often like two mil Yeah, so they seen that and they posted it cuz you know Instagram Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm bad from joint. You know we have fun in China I'm gonna be banned from a place that sell in the hotel Seriously like the bottom floor they selling it right there. They just they just be they just not get it. It was a cancel culture I was really Right like how you gonna be banned for inappropriate and they sell it in the basement?
Starting point is 00:30:07 Yo, I'm literally dancing. Like, clothes is on and everything, you know what I'm saying? And she's dancing like that. She's just dancing. She's just dancing. You feel me? You know, you've been over there too much. It was the weirdest thing. I was like, this is Cap. Like, I've been there. I was like, this is Cap. I've been there.
Starting point is 00:30:24 F4F2F is right down there. Just ding! What's up? Yeah, man. There's some F. The bottom, the last floor in the bottom. We can buy it right there. Because they were trying to say, hey, you want to girl? You want to go?
Starting point is 00:30:39 Sure. So that's what I'm talking about. Come in there, here we are. It's like, no, no, no, another girl. Yeah, nigga. This was supposed to be an NIL show but technically See my NIL fourth floor go down This is name image and likeness related. So this is you know, it gives a really you know, we get turned up on this show
Starting point is 00:31:02 But let's take it back to college. At least we get to cut that. Some of that's staying in. So you might remember Oakland University senior backup guard Jack Golke shooting some NIL commercials in the hotel ballroom after his big game in the round of 64 against Kentucky a few weeks ago. He's getting his TurboTax bag right. Me and my team got to the next round by making all our news count Just like turbo tax who makes all your off-court moves count this tax season
Starting point is 00:31:30 I love the jumper shooting to no rim. Well, let's focus on the bag securing element of it You know, you had that big game against Kentucky. I think shot that within 24 hours So was able to get that in I'll build done quickly So did you have any teammates or play against any underdogs who could have cashed in on this kind of success immediately? Yeah on our team Probably Luke Walton Richard Jefferson I
Starting point is 00:31:59 Mean for the most part, you know, we had a our team was we had a lot of personality So most people would have made their little bag somehow, you know, doing a little silly shit. Yeah. I think Wes Miller, he's actually the coach of Cincinnati now. He already got a bag, but he was just, I think one year, somebody, a two-guard got hurt, he came in just knocking down threes. He definitely would have got one of those. Yeah. Or bigger, for sure. Yeah, I saw a bunch of, Baycott had a bunch of, I was in Charlotte for the Open, but he had a bunch of turbo.
Starting point is 00:32:28 I mean, it was like four commercials that came on. Baycott getting bagged up out there. I wouldn't have left either. Right. And you play against anybody who have any teammates who are able to run up with an immediately successful bag like that? Shit, I don't know. Fucking long time ago, goddamn. Not too long. You still young. successful bag like that? Shit, I don't know. Fucking long time ago, goddamn. Not too long, you still young.
Starting point is 00:32:50 Nigga, but I was in school long time ago. Yeah, but you're still a young man. That is true, but shit. What would have been your dream brand to work with when you were in college? Well, we was we was wearing Jordans,
Starting point is 00:33:06 so to be able to get some of that, that Nike money back then would have been dope. Been very, very beneficial. We were in Adidas. Ew. Yes.
Starting point is 00:33:15 See, I know some players, I mean, even though I didn't go to college, but just looking at it, I'm sure like, like Assam Adams. He already had his own hot sauce. You know what I'm saying? That went there. I mean, you got, say like, Assam Adams. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:33:25 That went there. I mean, you got, I mean, Nolan Smith. Nolan Smith that went to Duke. That stayed for a while. That could have benefited off this.
Starting point is 00:33:37 Duhan, like KJ Ray. the guys like that, yeah, they could have. It's like people who can stay long and capitalize on it. Like, the guys are just coming in
Starting point is 00:33:46 They the guys who are signing like they're those ones and dones They got their NIL bag to get there Like it would have been there long enough to capitalize on any of it though Yeah, like one of my teammates like Bobby Brandon like Yeah, the whole Beach Boy kind of a look, like, barbed wire tattoo here, big strong, like, he would've, you know what I'm saying? He probably could've, like, did something, because he was, like, all the white girls, like, Bobby around campus.
Starting point is 00:34:18 Even Steph Curry. Steph? Because Steph, how many years he went? Three. Three. So, you know, just stuff like players like that. The longer you can say you can build those relationships. I mean, just as a company, I mean, I'm going to go after a big name, right,
Starting point is 00:34:36 just to attach it. But for the most part, I'm going to go someone who's going to be there three years that can actually sell the product. For sure. I think my thing is going to people that's courtside. I realized my fifth year in the league, all these people courtside got a bag. They got Western, like Denver,
Starting point is 00:34:51 there's Western Union sitting right there, all these companies. I'm sitting right there, I'm in there early from now on. Players now, that's what I'm doing. I'm there early, chilling with them, because they're already fans of you. Hey, you know what, I don't think players, I guess the bags, they be making so much money,
Starting point is 00:35:06 but they don't understand like you making money, but they making money. Right? All that clapping hands, eating popcorn. You got to play that game. You got to. You got to. You know, you see this, this, hey, this Will Fargo right here falling in the chair. Hey, how you doing?
Starting point is 00:35:20 Eat some popcorn. It's a good game, ain't it? You know, you just, you got to, it's a game you got to play with them. Exactly. The relationship. The relationship, yeah. So now let's take a look at the players who have benefited most from NIL. These are the top 10 NIL evaluations according to On3. So let's pull that list up. So at the top, Bronny James making 4.9 million. Shador Sanders is pulling at $4.7 million. Livvy Dune, the LSU gymnast, making $3.7 million.
Starting point is 00:35:51 Kaelin Clark, $3.2 million. So Arch Manning, who was at Texas, is making $2.8 million. Travis Hunter, $2.4 million. It's a lot of Texas, Colorado. I mean, we got to get some more bags on the LA side, other than Ronnie. SEC gave out the bags. Arch Manning didn't take one snap.
Starting point is 00:36:13 Is this what they made or this is what they're valued at? This is valuations. It could be higher, could be lower. So, okay, so we know for sure Ronnie and Saunders actually do get money. They're getting. They actually get bread. This ain't an evaluation. They getting checks.
Starting point is 00:36:31 Commercials, they're getting all types of stuff going. Because Bronny was already a millionaire before he even entered because of video gaming. His bag comes from video gaming. For the most part, like, Kaylin was 1. What did she do? She was 1.3 until the final four. I mean, until Elite Eight. Hers jumped up after that, but I'm pretty sure she didn't get a check.
Starting point is 00:36:54 I mean, she's doing commercials now, getting those residual checks. Commercial checks are love, though. She on State Farm, so she can get something. She on State Farm? Gatorade joint? I thought she was like at 1.3. That Gatorade commercial. Because Aja Reese and Flo J was in front of her all the time. Angel after last year, yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:08 Until last month. Was packing big bread. Shout out to Bayou Barbie. Them niggas, little commercials they pay. So you got Jalen Milrow, 1.6 million. Carson Beck at 1.5 million. So we have three of the top ten NIL evaluations on this list. Our Hoopers with Bronny, Kayla Clark, Angel Reese.
Starting point is 00:37:28 So what's the ceiling for the NIL? I mean, we're just scratching the surface of it right now. But how big can the bread get, especially when we talk about these colleges that have rabid fan bases that love spending money? To be honest, I don't think you're going to see a basketball player jump up like, I mean, obviously we know Bron is because of his father. Saunders is because of his father, right? So they have an advantage over there. You got Hall of Fame, you know, legendary personalities and fathers that can help push and leverage companies for their kids. For the game itself, football and women's basketball are going to always be in front because women's are forced to stay four years.
Starting point is 00:38:15 Football, you have to play, what, three years? Yeah, you have to play three years for you to play. So, you know, they're going to be the only ones that really capitalize on NIL deals. When it comes to basketball, if you are a top talent player, you're gone. You're not even going to have a chance to even tap into any of this money. Your money is going to be, before you get there, under the table, it's going to be, I bought you, your mother got a new house. They're not going to evaluate this in something like this so you know once Bronnie leaves is gonna be
Starting point is 00:38:51 basically football and women's basketball that's gonna be the woman's gonna be the woman's gonna eat the woman's going to eat and my juju is gonna jump in oh yeah yeah like a woman's football like other sports Cali to and she Roshan on the list. Yeah. Yeah, she's right up there. Like I know floge is second Oh, she's right behind reach for like 1.3, but I'm I don't know where Paige Buckner is now because she been hurt those backers. I know but she I mean she gifted her Whole motherfucking team Rolex. Yeahucking team Rolex after the first year Yeah, I'm about to say yeah
Starting point is 00:39:27 Everybody got a Rolex. How much money is she actually making? Was that a track star out there? Huh? A track star? A 40 millimeter? No, I think a gymnast. I'm surprised a track star not in there. What? Small ones, you can get one for like 10, but the other ones are like 30, 35, 40. She had 10 players up there? So she been with these 300,000 magic in the road
Starting point is 00:39:45 Like this is so crazy to think about in our day. You could barely get a free meal without getting I'm not giving my team Hey, I got in trouble for calling home using the fucking collect all code to call home The bill was outrageous. I wasn't the only one doing it, but yeah, they went down and looked at the bill. What you mean, on the call home? Yeah. So, I'm old as shit.
Starting point is 00:40:12 So, in the basketball office, right, it was a collect call code they had to put in in order to call out. Yeah. So, we had the code. They gave some of us the code. So, I'm- But you was going to the states, right? No, I'm in Cincinnati calling. You can't call out.
Starting point is 00:40:29 You're young, dawg. You couldn't call out of town without charging somebody. It was Roman. We were states. It was Roman back then in the states, dawg. On the landline, though. That's what I'm saying. Landline.
Starting point is 00:40:44 It's charging out of state. Landline. That's what I'm saying, the landline. Yes, it's charged you to call out of state. Yeah, landline, you had to go like area code, area code. If you 818 and you couldn't call 213. Keep it quick, man. I'm coming right now, please. Check on his mom. That's sick. So I'm running the bill.
Starting point is 00:40:59 We in the office. I ain't even at my apartment. Mm-hmm. I'm sitting in the basketball office. I'm calling. I'm't even at my apartment. I'm sitting in the basketball office, right? I'm calling. I'm on the phone caking. High school girl, what you doing? I'm just calling mom.
Starting point is 00:41:13 Sister, I'm on the phone with everybody. And I got motherfucking three games, nigga. And had to pay the money back. They took it out. They took it out of my Pell Grant check. You know, that hurt. That hurt. Hey.
Starting point is 00:41:24 Hey, you couldn't have the Pell Grant. So now I got to start selling. That hurt. Hey. Hey, you couldn't not have the Pell Grant. So now I got to start selling books and shit. Listen. Hey, you're going to get it back. We couldn't, like, cell phone, we had to do pages. Like, when that, when them two-way pages came in, boy, what? Sidekick era. So the sidekick is you get texts on it now, Dean.
Starting point is 00:41:38 Like, fuck, yeah. Other than that, there was no cell phone. Did you have a cell phone in college? No. My senior year, I did. Did you have a cell phone in college? Oh, my senior year I did. Did you? With the next tail of the church. Yeah, the church.
Starting point is 00:41:49 See? Key body three. Nights and weekends. Oh, it's after 6. He's cranking. You in there, yeah. You had Roman back then. Saturday morning.
Starting point is 00:41:57 How did you call third times? I think a text message calls back then. I was like, yo, texting was like $0.10. Ringtones, all that. I was 5'6". I was like, oh, all right, man. Imagine 99, goddammit. The Roman charges.
Starting point is 00:42:09 Imagine 96. Yeah, them too. 96. I tried to have a phone at Oak Hill. I was about to say, did you? Yup. And then when I got it, then I had the Roman charges. I was like that.
Starting point is 00:42:17 Roman charges fucking you off, man. For you younger people, you have no idea what we used to have to go through to communicate and connect. But that was suspension then. Yeah, no. They would be on you to go through to communicate and connect. That was suspension then. No, they would be on you. I got suspended. I got three games. You gave me three games. It was like two or three of us got suspended.
Starting point is 00:42:34 Yeah. I had the things up top. You had to be clever. It went to my sophomore year, too. It wasn't my freshman year. It was a whole year that went by. It went by. They finally flagged it. Hell yeah. So let's talk a little bit more just about NIL. So we showed you that list of the top valuations. Shador Sanders on that list posted a photo recently with his cyber beast. Oh he's
Starting point is 00:42:59 getting to it. When you get to it. Yesterday bro know, dude. Yesterday, bruh. No. This the first Cybertruck they dropped. Colorado? I mean. Who they had delivered in Colorado. The first Cybertruck. But here it come, yo. This is crazy. But the difference is, though, this the best of the best one.
Starting point is 00:43:17 Which one? The Cyber Beast. This how you tell. Go to the truck. This how you tell. It rain. That's that cyber beast. First one that released in Colorado, man. Makes sense.
Starting point is 00:43:27 His hand is dirty, so he had it for a minute. His hand is dirty. His hand is dirty. But is there a point where a college athlete might get too much too soon, costing them in the long run? Getting all this money thrown at you, super young, don't really know what to do with it at this point. Or is it important to keep your eyes on the prize, the ultimate goal?
Starting point is 00:43:54 This is going to be a football and a WNBA. I mean, women's, what's the name of the problem? You know, the basketball, the hoopers, right? Let's say the Zions and the Kevin Durants and those guys who's just one and done, right? They there for six months and then they getting the fuck out of there. So they not gonna have this problem. They got that money. It might entice
Starting point is 00:44:15 some of these dudes to stay longer though. It might. I said it might. Only the ones that depend on the money. Only if it's a question, well, they gonna be. It might. You never know. Listen. 100 if it's a question, well, they ain't going to be. They might. You never know. Listen. No, 100%. Some of these kids, the kids that's good at basketball now, they're not coming from the hood.
Starting point is 00:44:32 Right? I know, but. Just take, I'm not saying they're going to stick around. But just take Cooper Flagfist, right? Mm-hmm. Get there, that motherfucker, he's making three million this year you you never know right but just but you remember the mb it ain't it ain't our number one pick no more wimby is his contract 55 million for the four years was it yeah yeah then he should be like
Starting point is 00:44:57 12 to yeah 12 think about it it was 15 250 i 12 to 50, how am I safe? No, the Vaughn brothers, them were 23, 25. Yeah. So, you know, that's what I'm saying. So for Cooper Flagg, let's say he's number one pick, how much you going to pay? To stay in school.
Starting point is 00:45:14 I'm just saying. They're going to forget. Nine million a year did not go. I'm with you. But you might get an occasional guy that'd be like, shit, like college. If you're a late first rounder or a faster projection, stay in college.
Starting point is 00:45:28 It'd be someone like this. It'd be someone who, like an Ed O'Bannon, right? An Ed O'Bannon, someone after their junior year, right, could leave, a Miles Simons, right? Miles Simons. Someone who popped a Johnny Jusane, right? Someone who went far as fuck and then says, you're going to be a top five pick and decide to come back to school. And then he's going to milk it that year. No much.
Starting point is 00:45:56 It's going to be someone like that that's going to, the big head dude right here now. Eddie. Huh? Dude from Purdue. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He gots to milk it though Cuz but he what why you know stop dog. Why ain't here? Why you got no big hats?
Starting point is 00:46:13 Is he Canadian he's a basketball player man Which he has a whole Been milking the fuck out of that. I've seen him on TSN the other day. Oh, he's doing he's doing Okay I could just He said good All my Drake videos. Come on, doll
Starting point is 00:46:36 You need the OVO? Some shit crazy. I will let's move on to mostly fans Presented by Underdog Fantasy. If you have not done so already, download the app, use promo code GIL. It'll match your- You're gonna have to do a whole bunch of A's in the dog. Up to $100.
Starting point is 00:46:52 So, you mentioned Zack Eadie. You mentioned Zack Eadie. We got a Mostly Fans question from Underdog user, Steve B30. He said, can Zack Eadie develop into a Joel Embiid type of player, or will he Joel Embiid type of player, or will he be Cody Zeller type of player? What are you asking, everybody?
Starting point is 00:47:13 This is for the Couch Mostly fans. I don't watch Couch Mostly. I wouldn't say Embiid. I don't know who that is. Definitely not. And Cody Zeller is more of a pick and just up and down, so those are two bad examples of what he might could be not all of our fans aren't what's his best what is this what is the best case scenario yeah who you think who's his best comp in the league I would say
Starting point is 00:47:35 better than Bowman they like him better than he be he's more agile Bowman to be honest damn so would you would you take him in the lottery then? Would you waste a lottery pick on him? Nah, I think he would go first round, but then somebody's like trying to... Maybe somebody in the West wants to try to deal with Jokic a little bit, but... Mm. Maybe. I still don't know. So, Kane, when you look at Zach Giddey,
Starting point is 00:48:01 what do you feel like his ceiling could be in Adam Silver's National Basketball Association? I don't know Don't shoot it well yet, become a decent shooter, maybe. I don't... You don't shoot at all. That's what I'm saying. How about, can he turn into, I mean, how about Brook Lopez? Brook Lopez, I think about, nah.
Starting point is 00:48:39 That's Brook now or then? I'm talking about now. Now? Yeah, you think he can turn into... Can he develop to that level? Because Brooke Lopez was in the shoot or then, right? No. He had to turn into one.
Starting point is 00:48:50 Turned into one, so... That's still tough. Damn. Robin Lopez. Damn. Robin, maybe. Have you seen him play, though? Have you seen him, like, actually play?
Starting point is 00:49:03 Yeah. It's just, like, the time he takes to get down to court. Like, you have to wait for him. It's not like he's coming down. Corey Zeller's coming down, boom, boom, boom. He's in the mix. It takes him a minute. But do you feel like he can develop?
Starting point is 00:49:15 He's probably George Murasan. Shit, that's kind of crazy, though. But, you know, that's what I... What's so funny is I knew something was wrong. Like, I'd never seen him play. All I'm doing is just... So I'm looking at the pre-draft, and then I'm seeing, okay, National Player of the Year. He's great for college.
Starting point is 00:49:31 National Player of the Year, and I'm like, why is he 30th? It's tough. It's just tough, man, because of the skill set of the game now. Mm-hmm. Like, Joel Embiid is a dominant force. Yeah. Because his footwork and his offensive ability. Not the greatest defender, but he's going to put that pressure on the other side.
Starting point is 00:49:53 He's giving 35. Yeah. You can deal with the rest. Yeah, you can deal with it. After 35, shit. So it's just tough, man, because I don't, yeah, if the game was when we knew it to be when early 2000s and, yeah, but it's not that anymore, so. Yeah, I mean.
Starting point is 00:50:14 Yeah. It's tough, man, because there's only two dominant offensive bigs in the NBA. Mm-hmm. Like, really back-to-the-basket guys who can go get a bucket if they need one. So, I don't know. So, he could be Yao. No.
Starting point is 00:50:38 Not in today's game. Yao can shoot. Yao can shoot it. Andy too slow, but Yao can shoot. But do you think he can develop a jump shot? Yao can shoot coming in. That's what I'm saying. Yao should shoot their techs. Like, but yeah, I can shoot but you can develop a jump shot Yeah, I can shoot coming in. How many yeah, I should shoot a text like he go to the line It was a text like he was the technical file shooter. Oh D3 yeah, I'm going to shoot that motherfucker. So, you know, so is
Starting point is 00:50:58 It's that different. I mean once they couldn't develop into it and you never know Right now, no, I'm not. I mean. That's what I'm saying. It just didn't make sense. Like, you're player of the year, and you're this, and they got you 30th? Yeah. Not top three?
Starting point is 00:51:14 And then when you look at everybody they're picking, it's like, you're the best player in college basketball. You're a center, and they got four centers in front of you. Because they can shoot it. Because you ain't like them. You ain't like them. What's that do to Sarr? Like, Sarr. Sarr, they got. He's Because you ain't like it. You ain't like it. What's that dude, Sar? Sar, they got Sar there.
Starting point is 00:51:27 He's tough, you know what I'm saying? Like agile. Yeah, they got him number one, yeah. You know what I'm saying? It's the new NBA. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Because he can hit a five, but you can know he's four, three. Play the four and the five.
Starting point is 00:51:39 Switch off to, you know what I'm saying? Play small ball five with him at the four. Like it's just, it's all kind of shit at the NBA At the next level that you have to take into account. So Edie's here straight five straight for him. You ain't switching with him. You're doing drop coverage I just Know cuz if he's out there blocking shots and altering the game at times like Rudy go bear can That's a different story
Starting point is 00:52:05 But he don't move like Rudy. Mm-hmm. I'm Rudy athletic movie the Rudy can move laterally at times. So Rudy's a liability defensively at times. He's a defensive like so With the with the accolades and all the shit that he has at home with the defensive player years and all he still the he Still is a liability at times. So Let's keep it moving. So we got another question from Underdog User. Steve Martinez said, thoughts on Haley Van Lith entering the transfer portal again. So she was at Louisville, transferred to LSU.
Starting point is 00:52:40 LSU got knocked out in the Elite Eight by Kaylin Clark. She guarded Clark for a lot of the game. And is now back in the transfer portal again, it'll be her third school in three years. Prime example of that NIL bag chase. When she was at Louisville, she was the woman. She was the head honcho there. She was damn near going to break the scoring record there. And that school pushes all guards into the WNBA, right? That school is made for just guard play. You leave
Starting point is 00:53:12 there because someone offers you $500,000, your team can only give you $200,000, that $300,000 that you got messed up your career, right? You went from being a top five, you know, draft pick, staying there, to now you got a transfer. So two years later, you, we don't know where you're going to go. So, you know, was the extra $200,000 worth it? No. I mean, when it comes to education, I mean, you know, she was, she's a bright girl. She's graduated already. So she's in college doing nothing. You know, she graduated as a junior so you know this year at lsu she wasn't going to school next year you know so she's taking in that red shirt or whatever that she called the covid year so she's doing the covid year she ain't gonna be going to school so
Starting point is 00:53:54 you know this is about just trying to keep her career going this ain't about you know a job after you know she lost her her basketball career over you know in L bag trying to chase something But I mean you said I get but did it from leaving Louisville probably not obviously the best idea But going to LSU to win a national championship that team looked stronger looked like they were poised to repeat coming back as a number one seed So was it more bag or I want to be with a team that can get over the hump? Bag. And get that banner. A little bit of both.
Starting point is 00:54:27 It's bag. She lost what, what in the final four last year? Yeah. So it wasn't, it wasn't a team. Like they, it was nice. Yeah. It was not like they was, didn't make the tournament. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:54:38 It was there. So I think it was a bag chase. But at the same time, like me, I'm an entrepreneur. So you give me 300,000 in college, I'm going to make some shit out of nothing. So maybe she's on that type of wave. You never know. But best of luck.
Starting point is 00:54:57 She lost in the Elite Eight last year as well. As the number one option. But they lost to Iowa. Yeah. You the number one option in Elite Eight. You know what Yeah. But you're the number one option in Elite Eight. You know what I mean? You are Caitlyn Clark on the other side. I'm not leaving nowhere.
Starting point is 00:55:10 Here, no one even recognized you. They didn't know who we were. You was the fucking... If you get $200, one place. You was the trash. I'm not going nowhere else. If I'm number one... For that extra $300, I'm the number one option.
Starting point is 00:55:22 So how many points did Caitlyn Clark have when they beat them in the lead eight? She had a 40 piece. She had a 40 piece. So she went to LSU and the coach decided like we're gonna have you guard her again. And give her a 40 piece. I'll give you another okay. No, that's what. But you know the best part about that is she got put a 40 piece on in the lead eight, but she played well. She gets to combat at least some of that. This 40-piece is all 40-piece because your ass is the fourth option over here.
Starting point is 00:55:50 You the fourth option, goddammit. There's no get back. This is just an ass swooping one side. This is like trying to fight and somebody got your arm. So you're telling me she had to go get a bucket? She wasn't like, she didn't have to get 20 for them to win. She had to chase around and just play. She had 27 in get a bucket she wasn't like she had to get 20 for them to win
Starting point is 00:56:05 She had to chase around just like a little dead She had 27 in the the elite a lost year when she was at Louisville And this she took six shots here. She could she's just chasing. She just Was wanting to be out there I know like yes, you look like the same She didn't even look like the same player. No, I was wondering the whole game man Why is this girl's continues to gardener? I? Think a lot of people were wondering that same thing. Yeah, that was that was the worst This is a dollar for my baby watching the office. I'm out doing my baby good She like dad number 22 is really good. Yeah, yes
Starting point is 00:56:40 pretty good, baby. She's playing go to hell ball. Go to hell ball. Go to hell ball. I don't play go to hell ball. My favorite. It sounded like a football term. Pick a ball, throw it up. So next question.
Starting point is 00:56:55 Damn. Damn. That's it? One more question? I didn't say next. I didn't say last. Yeah, that's it. Last question.
Starting point is 00:57:01 Yeah, that's it. Last question. Last question. No, no. We need some more time because we're going to lose a couple minutes in a little crazy shit. Oh. Damn.
Starting point is 00:57:09 This is all y'all fault, as usual. I'm merely here to host. Dang. I only said wild shit. No one's going to get cut. Y'all can use it just in case.
Starting point is 00:57:17 They are selling. They're selling in the basement. Next question from Underdog User, Last Beast. What's your all-time college lineup? So this could be any five players from whatever schools you want to assemble your all-time college lineup,
Starting point is 00:57:33 the most ideal lineup built for college. When we played or just overall? Just overall. Is this just starting five? Give us your all. I'm ready. Go ahead. Mr. B, go ahead.
Starting point is 00:57:42 You got it. Go ahead. All right. All right. Let, go ahead. I'm not. You got it. Go ahead. All right. Bad mode. All right. Let's go Kenny Anderson at the one.
Starting point is 00:57:50 Ooh. Let's go Steph Curry at the two. Let's go Melo at the three. Let's go Tim Duncan at the four. And let's go Shaq at the five. Oh. Mr. B So this every every play that is every player to every play college, right? You said college, right?
Starting point is 00:58:11 Limit is to MJ night in there. No, I can go I can go man. Johnson MJ bird. You can do whatever you want I was my so I'm gonna go magic at the point Jordan Mellow I'm gonna go Magic at the Point, Jordan, Mello, Big Dawg. Glenn Robinson, shout out. And Shaq. I love that everybody has Shaq. No Kareem at the center, most dominant cosplayer.
Starting point is 00:58:42 I wasn't alive then. I don't know what the fuck he did. I wasn't alive when. I don't know what the fuck you did. I Wasn't alive or magic was playing shit We're not boring yet I didn't not that oh Now I love the importance showing you oh you magic bird my dad would show me that You probably did not believe him then because old people love to put extras on shit. Dubs. And if you give me your all-time college-started five,
Starting point is 00:59:13 you can put yourself in there as well. As you know, you do whatever you want on this show. College playing shit. That's tough. Uh... I'm going Pistol Pete. Ooh. Damn. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:41 Larry Bird. Noticing a trend I'm just kidding. I'm gonna go big dog. Okay Fuck I'm gonna go Michael Beasley. Beas. I'm going to go new. I'm going to put somebody new in there, man. And I'm, shit. I'm going to go Luau Cinder. Yes, sir.
Starting point is 01:00:14 Thank you. Before he was green. Before he was green. Oh, we got Luau. I'm going with Luau Cinder. That's a place. Never a dumb moment here in Gibbs Arena. Ty, if you had to pick a starting five all-time college players, who would it be?
Starting point is 01:00:28 I'm going to go with my squad, man. Phil Ford, MJ. Keep it all UNC. All UNC, baby. That's what we're doing. Except for, I'm going to put
Starting point is 01:00:37 Shaq at the five. Shaq is just dominant. That's fair, that's fair. That's my guy, man. Like Shaq, we're going to do Jameson and who else? Jamesworthy. Y'all get caught
Starting point is 01:00:48 Huh? Doggin cook who? you are Hey, okay Was Vince a actual good college player or he was just pro There's I think he was just he was good college player. He's just dumb athletic and dumb play he just couldn't get he just couldn't get off Cuz it's like it was more like yeah shooting guard small forward in it What position are you playing college small for oh, hey bro, can I change my Hell no. Hell no. I want to take Steph out of it. Hell no. You should have jumped out there. No. No.
Starting point is 01:01:27 No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No.
Starting point is 01:01:35 No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No.
Starting point is 01:01:43 No. No. No. No. That's fine. Well, they both played one and two. I got guards. Small ball, Jay. Small ball. They couldn't shoot. You want Steph because he can shoot. I mean, I got. Take Kenny Anderson out there.
Starting point is 01:01:52 I mean, I got. You know, Kenny the guy. You got to take Kenny out if you want Jason Williams. Jason Williams can score? In college? With the ball, he's a point guard. Okay, we got Melo. We got Tim Duncan.
Starting point is 01:02:02 We got. We couldn't shoot the ball. So you got two dudes who couldn't shoot the ball. They needed a drive. Jay Wilkins shoot. With the ball. We're talking, we're gonna shoot the ball So you got two dudes who couldn't shoot the ball and needed to drive they were could shoot With the ball what's up? About two guys who went top three in the draft so they were very good in college They were doing guards. Yeah, they went. Yeah, so I need them for college So if they're taught if they're top five picks in the draft, I know what I'm gonna do They both did the same. No, not even what you What you gonna do? Run. We're gonna run.
Starting point is 01:02:25 We're gonna take turns. Let's go. We got Melo on the wing, Tim and Chef. I thought you was gonna take out Kenny Anderson. I thought you was taking out Kenny Anderson. You need a round, man. Keep it, Steph. You need Steph.
Starting point is 01:02:34 Melo's running. Melo's getting to his spot. He's going straight to that block. All that running shit, corner, nothing. He's going to a block like this. Melo's gonna get a lot of easy shots. What? He want the easy shots?
Starting point is 01:02:44 Melo went one year. He went to Syracuse one year. Have you seen Mello highlights one year in Syracuse? Come on. I want to know how many times he ran to the corner, though. He's going to run this time. Mr. B has turned into Coach B.
Starting point is 01:02:58 Mello will follow direction. No, never mind. I ain't changing it. Yeah, you're right. I ain't changing it. Never mind. I'm going to stay with Steph. We need a shooter.
Starting point is 01:03:04 Let's keep moving. Our next question from Underdog User Kittenaround25. With upsets during March Madness and the NBA playoff push, what's one game in your career you wish you could get back and why? So one game in your basketball career you wish you could get back and why? To be any level. I'm going to gonna go my 55 because I would if I would have known then I would have scored at least five points or seven points in the first quarter try to get that 60 you did try to score you just break them all I got you know I know I was out there bullshitting the first boy what I'm saying
Starting point is 01:03:44 you can't change like if you didn't do you... No, I was out there bullshitting in the first quarter. But what I'm saying, you can't change. Like, if you didn't shoot, you can say, yeah, I wish I would have shot in the first... But you was shooting in the first quarter, though. You just didn't make some shit. Never a dumb moment on the arena. No, I'd probably say game six. Game six in the first round of the playoffs against Atlanta
Starting point is 01:04:03 when we had a chance to win at home. We didn't shoot it well that game. If I can get that game back, winning that game at home, to be the start of the Bucks and six, it would have been like... And winning the playoff series my rookie year, at home would have been it. That's the game. It's a national championship game I wish I can get back the Final Four game against was the Michigan State when coach told my dumbass not to go through the steel
Starting point is 01:04:39 he's you know it was like trail the trail over the double screen was Zach Randolph and Hudson and he he said, just trail. Just trail them around. Don't try to shoot the gap because they're going to try to close it. And I'm fast enough to just fake it and cut through and get that steal. And I tried to cut through, and they slammed it on me and put my arm out there. And the way I overextended and soft tissue tear and messed up that championship game because I was
Starting point is 01:05:10 hurt couldn't play it I couldn't play it the way I wanted to play yeah but I mean you go look if you just look at the stats poor shooting performance in the Natty game but you messed up your shoulder are you what you tore what towards off tissue in my chest so that's still that's why I said if I can take me going for that still and just take my black ass around, because going for that record, I just need one more. Ah!
Starting point is 01:05:30 And how much did that bother you actually in the national championship game? I mean, it's my chest. It's right here. It's everything. It's everything. You still trying to play through it, obviously. Back then, I mean, you know, college don't have NBA shit.
Starting point is 01:05:41 So they don't have numbers. They don't have tour at all and shit like that. They can numb it and get your shit going. So that's all Take these ass for some rough some icy hot Do a little prayer circle So uh Ty you get one game in your career back which one would it be in one game seven versus la la I think we was up. I don't know. I had like 29 and a third.
Starting point is 01:06:08 I'm going crazy. So fourth quarter, I come back into like the seven-man mark. And Kobe comes to me. He was like, yo, I'm guarding you. I'm going to foul you. You see them Zebras over there? They're not going to say shit. Next time I come down, I literally cross him over, get into my pull-up.
Starting point is 01:06:21 He grabs my whole right arm. And I really didn't know how to deal with this shit, because the Zebras, they ain't called nothing. So I'm like, yeah, that's what he said to Zebras. So I'm like, yo, how are we supposed to win this game? Like, this nigga's out here just grabbing arms, saying, I'm going to foul you. Like, I know that, you know what I mean? He had
Starting point is 01:06:37 the little edge, so. I wish I was able to, like, be mature, and then like, maybe send him off a ball screen, get him off me, stuff like that but like i said i was killing i had like 30 in the third four if i'm thinking about i have 40 against the send him home at the spot yeah but yeah that happened and then it was a wrap what went through your head when he told you that i'm thinking he all right he's just talking he's trying to get my head literally i come down free throw line uh uh up, grabs my whole ball, flies,
Starting point is 01:07:06 and the ref just looks at me and sends it the other way. There's only one person that did that to me is sitting right next to me. When he told me, he was like, I don't care what you do tonight, your defense, your big can't stop me. He's too far behind, so you're not going to be able to do nothing with me.
Starting point is 01:07:23 I'm just sitting there with countless hands from like he just told me the game plan right and come to game here it goes Bo gets sitting back here boom and I'm just like it's like come sit down like it's just like yeah some guys really said this yeah I'm not supposed to figure this out on the run in the middle of the game was like and and you young? Yeah. And I was a rookie too. You couldn't change the defense? Yeah. He already knew.
Starting point is 01:07:49 He was like, oh, yeah, I know what you're big going to do. And if he comes up, I'm going to go right by. And if he stays back, I'm going to shoot the jumper. I'm like, all right. So, Kenny, if you can get one game back from your career, which one would it be and why? What game I got hurt? I just had to ask you, sir.
Starting point is 01:08:05 Sorry. That made me do it. Shit, that's a no-brainer. St. Louis game, conference tournament. That and college and game six, game four in the finals against the Spurs. Yeah. So, one on each level. I mean, you wouldn't take that back.
Starting point is 01:08:33 You did get a lot of shots up, though. No, that was game six. Oh. Game six, I was three for 23. That was game six. Keep shooting it. Hold on. you just three for 23, what? In the finals. I think I made like my first two shots.
Starting point is 01:08:53 He made his first two shots and said, fuck it, let's go. Yeah, no, that was because we... You were shooting or you was... Yeah, I was shooting everything. I just wouldn't go in. I didn't see that game, so I was like, I didn't know if he was shooting threes or he was like... Jump shots, everything. Jump shots, layups.
Starting point is 01:09:10 You know when you having a bad game, tip back. Everything will fall, the shit that I normally make. Tip back, tip dunk, bounce out. Everything was, yo, just one of them nights. But yeah, that game I got hurt in college. But that, we split in San Antonio games one and two it might have been game three we lost okay now so two three two four two three two format so we split in San Antonio and went back home for three games and we lost two or three at the house so one
Starting point is 01:09:39 like either one of them like we we win one of them, we put all the pressure on San Antonio. But getting hurt in college was... One more question. It ain't working. There you go. You know I'm sitting right here, right? Ball C ain't working. Ball C ain't working. You know I'm sitting right here right now So last question this person does not have a hundred our username, but they are the beat the based one So where'd they get the username from there? Okay, this is coming straight from the chat the base when you could have got $50 if you would have had underdog fantasy account
Starting point is 01:10:21 But I'll know my friend who was the sleeper player you played against during March Madness or even in the NBA? So basically somebody that had a big game or big series. Unexpected. Oh, Michael Dunleavy. Michael Dunleavy in the championship game. Our game plan was to leave him open because he was playing horrible during the tournament. I think that game really kind of sealed his NBA draft stock for the next year. He killed us that game.
Starting point is 01:11:00 Didn't y'all play AAU together? That was my AAU point guard. You thought that was a prudent game plan? No, I mean, when you think about it, he's damn near shooting 12%, 13%, you know, from the three-point line in a tournament. So, you know, focusing on everybody else and leaving him open and, you know, slow rotating. And, I mean, I think he had, what, 20 or 30 that game.
Starting point is 01:11:25 Yeah. Brandon, for you, who was a sleeper you played against in the NBA? Had a good game unexpectedly? I don't know. I mean, I was a sleeper, so. I don't know. I mean, I was a sleeper, so. I don't know. I don't know. I felt like everybody was good.
Starting point is 01:11:51 Like, I was coming in underrated, so I felt like all 29 guards were better than me coming in. And at any point in your career, did anybody cook you that you look back now and are salty about it? Am I ever? In high school? Hell yeah.
Starting point is 01:12:07 Derrick Rose. I mean, Derrick Rose. I mean, but that's a... I think Isaiah Thomas got at me. Lil Zeke got at me one time in like AU. Corey Fisher. Like a bunch of Johnny Flynn ABCD camps. Okay.
Starting point is 01:12:21 Where I got them wake-up calls. Okay. For sure. Like, welcome to the league. Well, I mean, my welcome to the league moment was against Chauncey Billups. For sure. Against Denver, in Denver.
Starting point is 01:12:32 So. Because after I had 32 and 9 against y'all there, when we came back to Denver, he made it a thing to be like, oh, no, hold on. First two fouls, go sit down. I was like, all right bet. All right I'll see what time it is tonight This post yeah Ty who was a sleeper play you played against during March Madness or even in the league? I say college
Starting point is 01:12:57 I think it was Tyrese Rice Yeah, Boston College. I came off the ankle injury Put me right through me right in the fire. That's when we shoot from half court, half 40. I couldn't go up and guard him because he's going to give you the hezy. I'm not getting hezies on that. That's one thing that's not going to happen. You're going to have to hit that.
Starting point is 01:13:15 So I would say it was him, Derron Williams. I think that he's, I just couldn't guard him. I don't know. He's the only player that made me run into a screen, cross. You know how he holds it and brings it back. Deron Williams. Yeah. One, two.
Starting point is 01:13:30 I'm like, all right. And the last one, he's not a sleeper. It's Steph. Like, Steph was coming off the injury. You know what I'm saying? We had, what? I think we was number three in the playoffs, and they was number six, and that's when they upset us that year.
Starting point is 01:13:42 But he was like, he wasn't a sleeper, but he was doing wild shit in the playoffs. So you shoot from half court, coming down, like, on fast break, pulling up, like, you couldn't read the nigga. So that's when he went to go play San Antonio. Then after that, it was history. But I feel like we switched roles in that. Gallaudet didn't get hurt.
Starting point is 01:13:58 It would be a whole different trajectory in, like, both careers. Wow. Dang. So, Kane, who was the sleeper player you played against during March Madness or even in the league? Somebody be shit I don't He didn't he didn't watch y'all you know, you don't know y'all was
Starting point is 01:14:19 That was like Terminator back there. Nah Whoever scored 12 points. Whoever got 12 all day. Joe let it explode for 12. You had a good game. Feeling good. Y'all gave him a light 10. Somebody I watched, like, this is old name, but nigga like fucking Gerald Honeycutt.
Starting point is 01:14:41 Ooh. Went crazy in the tournament. Gerald Honeycutt. Mm-hmm. Honeycutt. Tulane. Tulane. Big time in the AAU circuit back in the day as well.
Starting point is 01:14:59 Gentlemen. Yeah. Always appreciate you guys taking the time to talk a little basketball, talk a little life, and other things as well that may or may not make the show. But we had a good time talking about it. It's part of the NIL deal. You get that money. If this was all under the name of it, you're like this umbrella.
Starting point is 01:15:16 But that's all for our NIL Mostly Fans special. So for Gil, Kanye, and Brandon, this has been Gil's Arena presented by Underdog Fantasy. Whoa, whoa! We'll see y'all soon. so Thank you. you
