I love her. Oh, me? Yeah, this is my dog. I love her. We've been friends for almost three years now. Three years. Is it been three years? Your birthday is going to be three years.

Oh my gosh. Our anniversary is coming out. What are you getting me? Well. You guys are. Yeah, we honestly, we're like good with presents with each other, right? Oh, yes, I think so. Yeah, you got me a nice present.

No, no. For my birthday, you like, that was the best birthday I've ever had. Well, the presents wouldn't stop on your birthday. I have this thing with you where I feel like it's never enough, which is just a testament to how much I love you. But I, it was like a week after Ari's birthday and I wouldn't stop getting her things. My favorite thing that you did for me on my birthday was that beautiful letter you wrote May. I want you a letter. I mean, it was on Instagram, but it was like, go me.

I go back to it all the time and I reread it every time. Oh, yeah, I called you spiritual nurse. And what are you? The Slayer, Evangelist, Ang. I was about to say, I hope I didn't write about myself in your Instagram vote. Wait, did I make it about me? Yeah, I hope I didn't do that. That'd be embarrassing.

Yeah grow so much in this building Anyways we won't get into that now Because it's not even our last time but it is crazy though how much we've been through here in this in this place we used to be downstairs in this building and we used to be like i don't know what to say i used to have the long dresses on and i used to be it's crazy what are we going to say today um it's been a beautiful beautiful journey and you guys are our people we love doing this with you the best part of there are two three amazing parts of this first doing this with jesus second doing this

with each other. Third, doing this with you guys. It's been a long road and we just were so grateful that you guys are journeying with us. And I just feel like we've all grown so much since the beginning. And if you're new here, we have a long time together to get to know each other and to go deeper with Jesus, to become, you know, more dependent, more in love with Jesus. And I'm just like so, so grateful for this. Thank you, Jesus. Me too. it's a beautiful thing what we have huh yeah it is when all else feels you say well we all got each yeah ptl ptl praise the lamb praise the lamb how is your week anything new i just asked you that

i have nothing i have nothing um i've honestly just we're resting yeah i'm in i'm in a period of rest right now so it's like i'm i'm i got nothing going on just just resting getting up early taking walks so problems 31 that's crazy feeding the goats you're feeding the goats um yeah just trying to like enjoy yeah enjoy life walk go to the beach be present be present what about you well i don't know if you guys can tell but i have a little bit of a tan you really do okay this is i actually like this natural tan i've been going to the beach every day. What?

Oh, that was weird. What? I've been going to the beach every day. I, for the first time in my, I think my actual life, I have a tan, which makes me so happy because I never tan. I'm still chanceless. It looks beautiful. You have a good olive color.

Is it olive? I've always wondered what my undertone was. Albanians have the best skin. Stop. I mean, I'm just basing it off Duolipa. I know. Love her. Lover.

Yeah, so I'm doing that. I've been, there was something I was going to say. Oh, I started, if anybody wants to join me. Yesterday, I started a 21-day social media fast. Tell them. Deleted Instagram off my phone. I have to be honest, I might have to delete YouTube, which doesn't help considering that's where we do our stuff.

But like, I even, I saw myself this morning. I went on shorts. I've never been on shorts in my life. The shorts on YouTube, like reels. Oh. And I was like, how dare I cheat the system right now? and look at the shorts but yeah I deleted social media off my phone it's only been two days it's not how do you feel like I can sit and and connect with Jesus like I can think about

Jesus like I get in the car or I have a moment of silence and I become aware of the Holy Spirit rather than immediately going to my phone two days I see a massive difference wow isn't crazy yeah I need to do it with Pinterest yeah I love Nancy Myers, DECOR. We're on the same Amazon, so I sit on Amazon all day. She uses my Amazon. She has her own. I use her.

I don't know why. But it's my favorite thing. I don't know why. I love seeing your orders. Like, it makes me feel so close to. Like, I want to know what you're doing, what you're buying. I'm like, oh, I like that too. I'm going to get that too.

Our houses are going to look exactly the same because I'm buying everything you're buying. I am obsessed. that's what you've been doing you've been that's what i've been doing it's it's like my piece yeah it's like a newfound love i love i love home decor you're really good at it maybe maybe god's really getting you ready for boaz he is i just finished root this morning he's getting you ready have you guys see jensen franklin have you seen that video oh what is he saying you go ahead i can only say this because Jensen Franklin said this and I'm not, I'm not, you know, I can

only say it because he said it, but he goes, y'all waiting for your Boas, but you're selling for a counterfeit and you're accepting his cousin, stupid as, drunk as, broke as.

That's what he said. Yeah, honestly. Did he get criticism for that? No, it's Judson Franklin. He's just kidding. I kind of love it. Yeah, so, I don't want none of y'all to settle for Boaz's cousin. You wait for your Boaz, and your Boaz is coming. My Boaz is coming.

You're going to hear Jesus. you're just going to commune with the Holy Spirit in a way that you're not because of social media. It's the worst thing you can do for yourself. Period. A point blank. The scrolling is it's insane how bad it is for you. And I know people watching are like, wow, I can tell the effects that it's having on me. It's numbing me out. It's frying my brain pretty much. And yeah, I just encourage you guys to take a break and see how it feels. Even like, you know, Give yourself times when you're allowed to be on social media. Delete it Monday through Thursday and have it on the weekends or delete it up until 5 p.m.

And then have it on your phone from 5 to 7. You know what I mean? Like put parameters. It'll change your life. Thank you for saying that. Because we don't even realize we're doing it. So today, guys, we're going to talk about faith. We're going to read from Hebrews 11.

So the book of Hebrews, before we even planned on doing this episode, I just read through the entire book of Hebrews, and it is such a rich chapter or such a rich book of the New Testament. The author of Hebrews is unknown. The Christians that this author is speaking to, they were experiencing so much suffering

and so much persecution and so much negativity that they were falling away from Jesus. This is after Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection. They at first, they had faith in Jesus. they were on fire, but for some reason, this particular group of people expected all of their problems to stop once Jesus, they received salvation and Jesus completed what he came to do. And when they see that they're still suffering and they're still experiencing hardship, they start to doubt Jesus and say, okay, maybe we should go back to the old religious ways because that we could actually have faith in because it was tangible and we could see.

Whereas this whole Jesus thing, it hasn't fixed all of it. our problems anyways, you know? And I think that's what so many of us go through today is you become a Christian and you think everything is going to be perfect. That's what prosperity gospel offers us a lot of the time, is that like everything is going to be perfect. You'll never be anxious again. You're going to have a perfect marriage and your children are going to be perfect and everything. You're going to have so much money. The gospel of Jesus Christ is, deny yourself, pick up your cross and follow me. That's the gospel. It's not follow me and you're going to, like, the gospel is come and die. Prosperity gospel is come and receive everything you've ever wanted.

Okay. And that's not what Jesus ever promises. And that is honestly why so many people turn away from faith is because they come under the preconceived notion that everything is going to go amazing and they're going to be rich and happy. Right. Right. And Jesus, like, never offered that. Right. And so I think that's why Ari and I are so passionate. And like, we see so many other people, even our age, coming out and being like, hey, this is the real gospel. This is the real Jesus. Like, you actually give your life away completely and then, you know, allow Jesus to come into your life and replace it with what he wants for your life.

But it doesn't absolve you from hardship. Yeah. And so, yeah. So this is what those Christians were going through during that time. And a lot of them had, like, a really strong Jewish background. And so specifically to this story, it basically, these are how the chapters go. Chapters 1 through 4 is all about the superiority of Jesus. It's like this whole idea that Christ is supreme over all the angels, all the prophets, over Moses,

over every single person who came before him, Jesus is supreme. And that basically that Jesus is the final and perfect revelation of God. And so we have like, for example, in Judaism, there's something. still waiting for their Messiah. They're still waiting for the Old Testament, the old law to be fulfilled, that for God's promise to be fulfilled, not knowing that it's been fulfilled in Jesus. He's the final word. And so it's basically saying that like when you think of God, you must see Jesus's face. And there's no like wiggle room. There's no like kind of, you kind of see this, but you also see this. It's like, no, Jesus is the final word, the answer. That's it. And is superior.

over everything else. And it's not until you receive that revelation that you can live in the fullness of Christ. That's right. And that's why you see so many people who are double-minded and they struggle and they go back and forth and they're like, but because they haven't fully received the revelation of Jesus as supreme. And you can't live in the middle, you know? Yeah. It's great.

Thanks. Our chapters 5 through 10, Jesus is the perfect high priest and the perfect sacrifice. It's talking about the old covenant. Basically, the new covenant is better. The old covenant was completely insufficient. You would have to bring sacrifices again and again and again to atone for your sins. Whereas Jesus is the final once and for all sacrifice, we never have to bring a burnt offering or a lamb or anything ever again. And then chapters 11 and 13 to a 13, what we're going to read today is the encouragement to live by faith, to endure suffering, and to keep your eyes.

on Jesus. It's warning against following away, meaning please don't willfully reject Christ after knowing the truth. Don't get to have Jesus in your life and then realize, oh, it's still hard. This doesn't look like what I thought it'd look like and then walk away from him. It's an encouragement and an emphasis, like just please don't do that. You just keep pressing forward towards Jesus. And then it's also encouragement to mature spiritually. And I think this is what's almost it's just dire for us all is that you have to mature spiritually because if you're not moving forward you're moving backward so like you see with these Christians they're getting all confused and doubting because they're not maturing in their faith they're not maturing in their knowledge of

Jesus they're not going deeper spiritually and it's causing them to doubt and be double-minded and want to go back to an old religious construct rather than a crucified and risen savior you know Yes. So that's basically what Hebrews is about. And guys, before we get into today's episode, we want to remind you of our three announcements. right that's how sick I was and so I share that a lot with you guys but um we'll just skip down to the last page but uh you guys probably read it some of you guys haven't but I talk about how I was so completely lost and desperate and it was right after I got out of the ER. I had had a nervous breakdown and I just was at my end. Have you guys ever been just a complete end? And then the next moment is when I found Jesus and I just wrote at the end. I wrote I believe raw dependency on God comes from deep suffering. He saved my life through my brokenness and he showed me what true love is. And though my healing was not a quick fix, I'm glad it wasn't. My pain had caused me to cling to Jesus' hem because I had finally found what I longed for. And so I held on really tight. And I told God

that I couldn't get through this without him. And I brought every single broken piece to him. And soon my why God turned into, thank you God. As I look back on the days, I could barely move and the mornings I wish I didn't wake up in the dark nights of pleading and crying and not understanding why the person that I had loved most had left. I'm thankful because it led me to the only thing that really matters. God. I couldn't depend on myself or my partner for security because genuine security is only found in God. Can you guys relate? Is your heart so broken and that you feel like you will do just anything to heal it? What if in the mastery of God your broken heart isn't for your disappointment,

but for your development? Here's what I know. Here's what me and Ang know. You have a heavenly father, one who loves you more than anyone else in this entire world ever could, one who wants the very best for you, who will not only bind up your wounds, heal you, redeem you,

and never leave you nor forsake you. But who is also a father who will never never, withhold something that is truly yours. So when someone or something feels like it has been taken away, it's simply because it was not in God's will. There is something on the other side that he has for you that is so much greater. You just have to trust him with your broken pieces. All it takes is a small seat of faith to bring your sick heart to him. All it takes is a small seat of faith to bring your sick heart to him. For as you reach out to him, you too can hear his voice. You can hear his voice. He's gently saying, your faith has made you well.

Go in peace. What a story of faith. I know. It's crazy. Praise God for this story of faith that is testified to so many people. Yeah. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus.

And soon, as I said that, I could just see you guys saying, you guys will be saying soon too. that are in a heartbreak that are in a season where it just looks so dark and it feels like all odds are against you where you're like how could this possibly how could it ever get better from here and you guys too will be like thank you jesus like thank you jesus yes my faith has made me well now i can be in peace yes yes yes you guys today is a day of jim genuine impartation, not us laying our hands and imparting anything on you. It is God himself stepping down into your story, into your bedroom, and imparting the gift of faith. Faith will be

stirred in your spirit today. Like, I believe it with all my heart. So I want you to begin to believe that if faith that you've never seen before is about to be birthed and produced within you, You're going to be pregnant with faith in Jesus' name, and you're going to give birth to the type of faith that truly does move mountains. This little, little, little seed of faith that is being planted inside of you is going to move mountains, and it begins today. And if you're somebody who struggles with faith, I get it, we all do. But I just want you to know that doubt doesn't mean that your faith is bad. It doesn't. Everybody wrestles.

wrestling is a normal, beautiful part of journeying with God. But there's a faith that's going to be released today. You're not even going to know what to do with it. And I think you were pregnant with faith. I love you. I'm pregnant with promise. I think you were pregnant with faith. So we're going to start Hebrews chapter 11, verse 1.

Faith shows the reality of what we hope for. It is the evidence of the evidence. of things we cannot see. That's the NLT version. I just want to read a different version says, now faith, this is New King James. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

And the root meaning of faith, Ari and I were dying laughing, because I was like, just letting you know, I have a couple of, like, I'm going to be like, so the root in Greek is a heros, it's all right but truly the root meaning of faith is trust confidence and reliance and in the biblical context it's not just believing facts it's not just reading the bible and just simply believing it it's active trust specifically in god's character and his promises without

having proof without having anything tangible that you can hold on to it's reading about who god is seeing him throughout history, seeing the promises that he makes, seeing him in your own life, and then believing for the future that he is who he says he is, and that whatever he's done, how faithful he's been, how faithful he promises to be, he's going to be that faithful in the future too. Through their faith, the people in days of old earned a good reputation. By faith, we understand that the entire universe was formed at God's command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen. It was by faith that Abel brought a more acceptable offering to God than Cain did.

Abel's offering gave evidence that he was a righteous man, and God showed his approval of his gifts. Although Abel is long dead, he still speaks to us by his example of faith. It was by faith that Enoch was taken up to heaven without dying. He disappeared because God took him. For before he was taken up, he was known as a person who pleased God. And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.

If we leave you with nothing else on this episode, this has been the motto of my life. Those who diligently seek Jesus, that is what faith is. Yeah. Yeah. And it's impossible to please God without faith. You can't do things for God without having faith in him and expect him to be pleased. He actually doesn't want anything that you can do for him. No.

All he wants is your heart. And this is what happens to people who get stuck in moral religion. They get stuck in morality thinking that they need to do all these things or be all these things, which again, yes, there is a way to, that you live holy and righteous and all the things. Jesus wants your heart. Yeah, that's all he wants. He wants your faith. He wants your worship.

He wants your undivided singular devotion. And the beautiful thing is, yes, it's the faith that pleases him, but it doesn't even have to be a lot of faith. A mustard seed. Faith as small as a mustard seed can grow and move mountains. Like that is how powerful faith is. And it says that he rewards those who sincerely. or diligently seek him.

So even if you have this much faith, if you genuinely seek God, that's enough for him. And he will reward that seeking. Even if you seek him doubting, even if you seek him not knowing, even if you seek him and don't fully understand, but with a sincere heart,

you're saying, I'm looking for God. I'm looking for Jesus. That's more than enough for him. It was by faith that Noah built a large boat to save his family from the flood. He obeyed God who warned him about the things that had never happened before. By his faith, Noah condemned the rest of the world and he received the righteousness that comes by faith. So during this time, Noah basically was rejected by everybody that was around him because he was doing this crazy thing that made no sense. He was going to build a boat, build an art.

take all his family, take all those animals, because he heard the voice of the Lord. And then he said, this makes no sense, and everybody's laughing at me, but I'm gonna condemn the rest of the world, and I'm gonna press on towards what God has called me to do. And that's what so many of us have to do. We have to condemn the world that is chirping at us,

telling us, God didn't actually tell you to do all that. God didn't actually tell you not to go to the bars and the parties. God didn't actually tell you to quit that job, job or that relationship that's not good for you. But you decide I'm not listening to those people and I'm going to continue pressing towards and obeying what God told me to do even though it makes no sense, but I have the faith that if he's called me to it, he's going to see me through it. Noah gets me through so much because, like, if you really read this story, he's 600, he's so old And he built this arc for like, I don't know, the exact number,

but I looked it up and theologians say it was like 50 to 75 years of building this arc. Wow. Can you imagine the faith and obedience this man had? So every time I like start to get impatient, I really do think about Noah. Well, it's so true. And imagine how many people were making fun of Noah. And they're like, it's been 50 years. what are you doing?

And he's just, he keeps building. Yeah. He keeps going. And he stood on that word. So good. So good. So good. Our, such a good point.

It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going. And even when he reached the land, God promised him, he lived there by faith. For he was like a foreigner, living in tents. And so did Isaac and Jacob, who inherited the same promise. Abraham was confidently looking forward to a city with eternal foundations, a city designed and built by God. The story of Abraham and Isaac makes me so emotional.

I'm so deeply connected because Abraham, like Noah, had to do something absolutely insane. He had to leave his own land, go to a place where he had everything, all the resources that him and his family needed. And he had to go to another land where he was a foreigner. He wasn't familiar. He did not have the things he needed to even live a normal life. And he said, but I heard God and I'm going to go and I'm going to be ridiculed and I'm going to be mocked. And I'm going to be like, it's going to be embarrassing in a sense because people are not going to see the outcome.

And that's the thing about journeying with Jesus. Sometimes you have to step out in faith and in obedience and not see. the outcome. Because a lot of the time, the promised outcome isn't even for us. It's connected to so much more than us. And oftentimes, we're this big, this small of a part in God's big story. And so it's just so crazy. Abraham sacrificed so much. He had so much faith. And it really, really inspires me. It was by faith that even Sarah was able to have a child, though she was barren and was too old. She believed that God would keep his promise. And so a whole nation came from this one man who was as good as dead, a nation with so many people that like the stars in the sky

and the sand on the seashore, there is no way to count them. That's crazy. The promise of Jesus came through the faith of Sarah and Abraham. And had they not had faith, we would never have had Jesus. Sarah really, I mean, she saw the promise of Isaac, but Isaac, her son, but Isaac was never actually the promise or the reward. Jesus was the promise and the reward. And so Sarah lived in a way where she had to have faith and she never even fully saw the outcome.

And that's how all of us have to begin to learn to live. by faith in obedience but understanding that we might not see the outcome of even our faith and what we're being obedient to you know it's so much more than us it might be for our kids or their kids all these people died okay this is what i was just talking about all these people died still believing what god had promised them they did not receive what was promised but they saw it all from a distance and welcomed it they agreed that they were foreigners and nomads here on earth, meaning that earth is not our home. We're foreigners here.

We're living for something so much bigger than our current reality. Obviously, people who say such things are looking forward to a country they can call their own. If they had longed for the country they came from, they could have gone back. If you want to go back to Egypt, you can. If you want to go back to slavery, you can. If you want to go back to your old life, you can. But why would you?

When you know what you know. But they were looking for a better place, a heavenly homeland. That is why God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them. And I think what's so crazy is like many Christians, so many Christians become frustrated and feel defeated because their needs are not immediately met when they give their life to Jesus. And that's so normal. But I have to tell you guys, Ari and I both have a thorn in our flesh, maybe multiple, and different things in our lives, family members who need saving and healing, and so many different situations that did not immediately get healed and fixed and restored. And still haven't. Yeah, the day that we gave our lives to Jesus.

And they still haven't. And so you just have to understand that these cannot be reasons why you backslide, why you lose faith, why you lose trust. because you have two sisters who are going through it with you. We also have not received every promise that God has given us. And so, yeah, I just think it's so interesting. We're reading about these incredible people of faith from the Old Testament who never knew Jesus, who never got to see the Messiah, who never got to hear the New Testament,

they never got to actually hear the gospel in their lifetimes, and know that their faith and their obedience was worth it. but that's what faith is they never got to actually see the promise but that's hebrews one faith shows the reality of what we hope for the evidence of things we cannot see and that's what faith is faith is literally just believing without seeing and that's what all these people in the old testament did they in their lifetimes never got to see the promise come to pass but they have they had the faith that it would. And guess what? It did. Yeah. And we can all also have that heart posture. It was by faith that Abraham offered Isaac as a sacrifice when God was testing him. Abraham,

who has received God's promises, was ready to sacrifice his only son, Isaac. Even though God had told him, Isaac is the son through whom your descendants will be counted. Abraham reasoned that if Isaac died, God was able to bring him back to life again. And in a sense, Abraham did receive his son back from the dead. It was by faith that Isaac promised blessings for the future to his sons, Jacob and Esau. It was by faith that Jacob, when he was old and dying, blessed each of Joseph's sons and bowed in worship as he leaned on his staff. It was by faith that Joseph, when he was about to die, said confidently that the people of Israel would leave Egypt. He even commanded them to take his bones with them when they left.

It was by faith that Moses' parents hid him for three months when he was born. They saw that God had given them an unusual child, and they were not afraid to disobey the king's command. It was by faith, and if you've read the Old Testament, this should fire you up so much. If it was by faith that Moses, when he grew up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter, He chose to share the oppression of God's people instead of enjoying the fleeting pleasures of sin.

He thought it was better to suffer for the sake of Christ than to own the treasures of Egypt. For he was looking ahead to his great reward. This is the whole point that we do not focus on the fleeting pleasures of the flesh and the sin, but we're always looking towards our great reward. Because when you live like that, the little things stay little. the little inconveniences, the pain and the hardship of life, it becomes so much smaller when your eyes are set on something so much bigger. It was by faith that Moses left the land of Egypt, not fearing the king's anger.

What is God asking you to do right now that you don't fully have the faith to do? Is he asking you to leave something? Is he asking you to leave Egypt? Is Egypt a relationship? Is Egypt a job? Is Egypt a way of making money that does not? not honor God. Is Egypt a lifestyle that you know is hurting you and not honoring God? It's time to leave Egypt. You do have the faith. You do because God is faith. And if you have Jesus, then you

have faith. Yes. Like he's inviting you guys into something really special right now. He kept right on going because he kept his eyes on the one who is invisible. He kept right on going because he kept his eyes on the one who is invisible. It was by faith that Moses commanded the people of Israel to keep the Passover and to sprinkle blood on the doorpost so that the angel of death would not kill their firstborn sons. It was by faith that the people of Israel went right through the Red Sea as though they were on dry ground. But when the Egyptians tried to follow, they were all drowned. It was by faith that the people of Israel marched around Jericho for seven days and the walls came crashing down. You guys know that story. It was by faith that Rehab,

the prostitute, was not destroyed with the people in her city who refused to obey God. For she had given a friendly welcome to the spies. And then it finishes. How much more do I need to say? It would take too long to recount the stories of the faith of all these other people. And then it goes on to say, but others were tortured, refusing to turn from God in order to be set free. They placed their hope in a better life after the resurrection. Some were jeered at and their backs were cut open with whips. Others were chained in prisons. Some died by stoning. Some were sawed in half. These are real people, real disciples who died who were martyred for the sake of the gospel. This is what people actually and still do go through. And others were killed with the sword.

Someone about wearing skins of sheep and goats, destitute and oppressed and mistreated. They were too good for this world, wandering over deserts and mountains, hiding in caves and holes in the ground. All these people earned a good reputation because of their faith. Yet none of them received all that God had promised, for God had something better in mind for us so that they would not reach perfection without us, because we will all be perfected in Christ the day that Jesus comes back. Thinking about how much I love Jesus. I'm thinking about the way he saved my life, and I think about everything, just in my faith journey. Yeah. You know, it's so crazy.

The very first scripture that was ever told to me was walk by faith and not by sight, and I didn't even know what that meant. I didn't, but it was my word. It was the word that I had to stand on. It makes me so emotional thinking about everything, but I, I go to this, the church that I found Jesus at, it's like, it's just my safe place. It's where everything happened for me. It's like when I go in through those doors, it's like I'm home. Like I'm home with Jesus.

And I went in there yesterday. The minute I opened the door, I just, I start weeping with joy. Because every time I go into those doors and I sit in those pews and I look up at him, naked on a cross and like it's just it just it brings me back to how he saved my life how I would sit there and how I just formed this incredible relationship with him through feeling like all odds were against me you know and so every time so I go in there and it's like I'm crying with joy and I just keep saying thank you and I always get a picture of myself of where I was two years ago.

And I saw a picture of myself. I was looking at the row ahead of me and I saw myself. And I had these papers in my hand. I would just sit in there for hours and I would write. And then I would get scripts sometimes and I would study in them

because I just, it was my safe place. And so I thought about this today, how we were filming about faith. And I just thought like, just thought about my whole journey with faith. and how I didn't know what it meant and how I just every time I'd be in pain, I'd be like, walk by faith, not by sight, walk by faith, not by sight. And I didn't know what I was doing. But when I look back from two years ago, two and a half years ago, it's just like, I love what you said about. It's not always about having the confidence of faith. It's so true. I had no confidence. I had no confidence. I had no. I had no idea what I was doing. I was in so much pain.

I was in a pit. I couldn't see the light. I didn't have it all together. But I kept showing up. And I held on to that hem. and it was that little small seed of faith of like sitting there and crying out and earnestly seeking him and not giving up and learning through pain and going to church when I didn't know what I was doing and repetitively saying I walk by faith not by sight and really learning what that scripture was

and asking for prayer and fighting for friendships and praying for a friend and then he gave me you you know and so that was my that was my small seed of faith it didn't mean that I wasn't in pain yeah and I didn't doubt or I wasn't confused and in like still looking back and still wishing I had what I wanted I did I was in so much pain there were days I truly didn't know how I was going to make it but I still got out of bed I still wiped my face I still went to that church because it was my safe place, I still cried out, I still prayed, I still showed up at church, I still watched sermons, I still learned. Like, I kept fighting through. And that's what faith is. You keep going. I wanted to talk about when he brought me you. It's so important to,

it's so important to, I can't even tell you what Angela did for my faith because, like, I was fighting, but then it's so important to have people. I'll never forget when I just was in the pit and I was fighting. But like those days over and over and over again, you would pick up my face and you would be like, it's going to be okay. Don't you know who Jesus is? And you constantly reminded me day after day who he was. And that's why it's so important. and to have people you modeled faith for me you are such a mighty woman a god with faith i when i think of you and i think about faith you represent faith like you are like you are just when i think of you like your last name to be faith like you were pregnant with faith truly so

i love you so and then yeah and it's just that's why you need to be around people because when you fed me the word, when you disciples me, when you, it's like I had these scriptures to stand on and to fight with. That's why we can't be Christians who don't know the word of God. Yeah. Because I was able to just stand on these scriptures. Yeah. That is so good.

How he's with us. He'll fight for us. He won't leave us. Have courage. Be strong. Oh, man. What a story of faith. Yeah.

You can't add to the. the Bible, but I wish we could just add your journey just to the end a little bit, just like a cliff note at the end. Because it's crazy. When you don't grow up in a family of faith and having to find faith for yourself and having to fight through the doubts and like you live your life a certain way for so long. And then all of a sudden you're introduced to Jesus and like, yes, you have these encounters and it's like, it's undeniable. Jesus is real and you showed up in your life. but then when you don't have that feeling experiential encounter kind of you then have to be like okay now I have to worship in spirit and in truth so now I have to believe the truth about who you

are but this is crazy when you haven't known this your whole life yeah and even when you have known it your whole life faith is is uh you know is not always easy to have but like your story is just crazy. It really is. Living the way that you are living in the world, not having any, any, any foundation of faith whatsoever to then be like, I'm going to believe in this crazy, beautiful, real story of the gospel of Jesus. Yeah. And fight through the doubts. It's just, it's insane. It's impressive. Yeah. I, when anyone asking, how do I have faith? I think about Jeremiah. When, when he says, we talk about the scripture all the time, but seek me with all your heart and you'll find me.

And that's all you have to do. If you want to know how to have faith, that's what I did. I seeked him with all my heart through the doubts, through the heartbreak, through the pain, through feeling like all odds were against me, through having no money, through feeling so abandoned and left and broken and worthless. I still seeked him with all of my heart. and I found him and so faith and obedience

they go hand in hand be obedient and seek him because when you find him that's when faith is produced and that's when you're like I found you so good I see you

We want to talk about kind of like practical things. So I read this scripture and its faith shows the reality of what we hope for, the evidence of things we cannot see. In New King James, it's no, faith is the substance of things hoped for.

So faith is a substance, right? God is also a substance. He's not just some like airy thing. Like, he's a substance. That's why he's real. That's why his tangible manifest presence can be in a room and you can literally feel the Lord Jesus in the room with you. You can feel them on your skin. You can feel like a fire in your chest.

Like, he is that real. And he exists in the spirit realm and then also in the physical realm. And the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of faith. The Holy Spirit himself is the Spirit of faith. He is faith. Jesus is faith Jesus is hope Jesus is confidence

everything that we're looking for we find in Jesus because he is everything if we want love we go to Jesus because Jesus is love if we want joy we go to Jesus because he is joy so faith is a substance God is a substance

the Holy Spirit is the spirit of faith when we connect to the Holy Spirit that's when we have faith it's in the presence of God that faith is produced because when our heart is connected to his heart, we automatically have faith. That's how it works. And I heard, it's like a really famous saying that, like, if you have, somebody said, if you have 10 minutes to pray, worship for nine and then pray for one.

Because it's about connecting to the heart of Jesus that gets your faith where you want it to be. And then prayer isn't just about saying a bunch of words. It's about the faith behind your prayer. If you want your prayers to get answered, it's about having the faith, the assurance of things that you have not seen yet, that I'm praying this in faith, believing before it's done that it will happen. That's how we're meant to, guys, you're not meant to pray to Jesus and say, please, God, please God. Like, that's not boldly to the throne of grace, meaning that you go and you tell him, hey, I believe that you're already doing this, because you can read my mind before I say anything. And so when our hearts align with the heart of God, that's how faith is produced. If you want faith, get on your face in worship.

Adore Jesus. Get yourself to a place of complete, true worship, and you will be full of fiery faith. That's right. That is so true. Meditate on his presence. That's where faith is produced. Yeah. You do not muster up faith yourself.

He gives it to you. and he gives it to you in his presence when you've connected to him. There are things that happen automatically. Faith is automatically produced in you when you are connected to the heart of God. That's right. Yeah, when you have truly worshipped him. And that's where so many people struggle is because they're trying to have faith. And Jesus is like, just love me.

Your heart will get to the place it needs to get. It's all about worship. That is what I've discovered more than anything. within this past year of my life, it is all about worshiping Jesus, who's on the throne. I say this all the time now. You guys have no idea how crazy I am just by myself. Every time I feel like either anxiety has come up, doubt, idolizing someone or something, I have to reorient and I do it every time like I am a child.

I sit and I say, Jesus, you're on the throne. And I continuously put him back on the throne. And I know that might sound silly to some people, but it works. I am testifying that this works, consistently putting Jesus back on the throne so he has all your worship. That's where faith comes from. You don't get it somewhere. You don't just like, poof and it comes.

Like it's about being in alignment with Jesus. Faith is spelled R-I-S-K. Faith is about taking risk. Faith is not a feeling. Faith is not about how you feel. Faith, my most faith-filled, bold moments have been when I don't feel like I have any faith. Right. It's not about what you feel.

It's the act. Faith looks like something. It's not a feeling. It's being afraid and getting out on that stage. That's right. Believing that God is going to show up. Doing it any. Or even being like, I believe he's going to show up and I'm scared that he's not.

But I'm going to go anyways. And that is the faith. Faith put into action. It looks, it's a substance. It's not a feeling. It's a substance. You don't typically feel full of faith when you're operating in faith. And that's what people need to hear.

It's not about what you feel. You might be operating in faith in your life, but you don't even feel like you are. If you're obedient, if you're stepping out in faith when you're afraid, you are so full of faith and you're believing the lie that you don't have faith. You have faith. Yeah. You have so much faith. And I don't know why the scripture, your power is made perfect in my weakness.

Maybe that's a scripture that you have to stand on in that season. I kept hearing it. So good. So you should write that down. I don't know who that's for, but write that down and you stand on that. Yes. You stand on that and you keep just being bold to that and be like, no, no, no. Your strength is made perfect in my weakness.

It's so good because it is truly made perfect in your weakness. faith is simply trust it's trusting who god is trusting that god is who he says he is looking back on your history and fate and looking back on your history with jesus i think so many of us when we're hit with hardship when we're hit with a traumatic situation chaos your whole world gets turned upside down, you can only see what has gone wrong and you can no longer see who God has been in your life, your whole life. What is so crucial for every single one of us is to consistently look back on the history that we have with God. And if you don't have history, like for me, I can look back at so many things in my life. I can look back at 23-year-old

Angela, who was a completely alcoholic, addicted to alcohol. was supernaturally delivered by God after six months of prayer. How is that even like any time that I want to doubt God, I look back to that moment that he stepped into my life, rescued me. I didn't even like know him. I didn't deserve for him to help me. And he still stepped into my life and changed my whole life in one moment.

That's who he is. So I can look at that. I can look going even further back. I look at a smaller version of myself, who was in so much chaos, who was in violence, who had abuse all around. And look at this little girl who was so protected by Jesus, who was so loved by God. And I can even, if I wasn't even consciously aware of him, I can see his handprints all over my life because somehow, some way, he brought a girl who had nothing to do with Jesus, who was so rebellious.

I was not a friend of God. I was not a friend of God. But Jesus, in his kindness, brought the right people into my life, brought me to the right places, gave me a mother who was so full of faith that did give me a foundation and then prayed for me throughout my life, brought me to the right places. That is what I think about. I think about the sovereignty of God, how he's so much bigger than anything and everything that we're facing right now.

You don't have to, you don't have to muster up faith yourself because you can think about the God who holds all of creation in his hands, who literally hung the stars in the moon. Those hands are the same hands with holes in them that were nailed to a cross. That is who we're talking about, the creator and the king of the universe,

who is in control of everything, so sovereign, but somehow still a call away. Yeah. Somehow still just and I love you away. Somehow still resides in our hearts. This is who we're talking about. This is how we have faith. We remember who he is. Utterly faithful and completely true. He's never lied. He's never changed. And something about the Holy Spirit. This is one of the most important parts. The Holy Spirit is the one who scripture says leads us into all truth. The Holy Spirit is the one who takes the veil off of our eyes. and reveals Jesus to us. You can't say Jesus is Lord without knowing. You can't say Jesus is Lord, if not by the Holy Spirit. It's the Holy Spirit who does everything for us.

The Holy Spirit, the Spirit of faith, is the one who instills faith in us. It's about being connected to the Holy Spirit, one through prayer, through sitting, calling on the Holy Spirit, adoring Jesus, and then two, through the precious, mighty Word of God, If you want to be filled with faith, you should read the entire Bible, read the whole Old Testament, see the way that God worked with the Israelites, with all of the kings throughout, with David, with Elijah. You see the prophets. You see Jeremiah and Isaiah speak about the coming Jesus by the Spirit in the Old Testament. You see just how sovereign God is that He's here, but he's also there, and he existed the whole time. How can you not be full of faith when you see how big God is? You know what I mean?

Like, there's this story in the Gospels that I'm so obsessed with. And it's, I don't know where it is in Matthew or John, but it's the man at the pool of Bethesda. And it's one of my favorite stories because there's this one specific line. You see Jesus go to the pool of Bethesda. And it's basically this pool of spirituality. It's like witches would basically make this pool kind of swore. around and people who were lame and paralyzed and hurt and injured would go there and basically if you went in the pool, you would be healed, that there was some sort of God that would stir

the pool and then you go in and you get healed. And then there's this man who's laying on a mat, he can't walk, and Jesus goes in and he sees this man and he says to him the words, do you want to be made well? And I love this so much because you see that faith is a collaboration. It's a partnering with God. That's right. It's a choice. And then you see this man give all of these excuses.

No, sorry, I can't. No, I wish I could, but I'm sitting here. I'm paralyzed and everybody gets to the pool. Before I do, I don't have anyone to bring me into the pool. And Jesus says, take up your mat and walk. So first it's a choice. And the guy tries to make excuses as to why. And I know all of us have made excuses as to why we can't have faith, why we can't be the person God called us to be.

But Jesus simply says, get up, pick up your mat and walk. Like it's literally that easy. It's that easy to make a choice, to have faith in Jesus, to believe that he is who he says he is. And I just want to say, like, if I look at my life, I've been through so much in my life. I have so many things stacked against me. I have so many reasons to not have faith. in Jesus. I really do. I have so many things in my life right now that I can look at and be like, there's no way he's real, there's no way he's good, there's no way he answers prayers, because

if he really was that good, he'd answer that. And my heart is still full of faith because it is not my current circumstance that determines whether God is good or not. He's wise, there's a mystery to the kingdom, and I don't know why things are the way that they are. But what I do know is that he is who he says he is. And I think about my life and I think about having faith. I think about where I come from. And I think of the lifetime of, like I said, chaos and violence and abuse and generations of trauma and addiction and all of these little, all of these big, big things.

And I see myself, I see all of that stuff. And then what I decide to do is close my eyes and I see myself in the spirit. and then I see a line drawn right above my head, and I say it ends there. Nothing comes down. Never again are these things going to come with me through my faith in Jesus, and my faith that he turns things around for good, and he can take all that stuff that happened and turn it for good. And I have faith that Jesus can take generations of trauma and chaos,

and then my children have a beautiful spirit-filled life. These are the things that I put my faith in. You know what I mean? And everybody today has the opportunity to receive that same faith. There's a scripture that says, imitate me as I imitate Christ. And I just want to say that if you don't have a heart full of faith right now, that's completely okay. You can. And we're just going to pray that God would release faith in your life.

because the truth is people with the gift of faith it is a gift and they also just choose I choose Ari chooses every day to believe this word and it's not without wrestle and it's not without doubt but I believe him I believe that when he tells me to live my life a certain way it's for a reason and it's a good thing I believe that when he says he's faithful throughout all things throughout all situations that he really means it

So Lord, I just pray right now for every single person under the sound of my voice, God, that the gift of faith would be released through this microphone, through this TV, through this computer, Holy Spirit, that you would enter into the life and the heart and the body of our friend that is listening to this. And God, that they would be added to this Faith Hall of Fame. that God, you would fill their hearts with undeniable, unshakable trust in the character of God, the sovereignty of God, and the divinity of Jesus. Holy Spirit, I pray that you would open the eyes

of every single person listening and watching and you'd show them Jesus. God, I pray that you would release boldness, confidence, and I pray that you would just encourage every single person listening. I pray that you'd fill their minds and their hearts with a million encouraging thoughts about themselves. God, we bless every single person listening.

And I pray for fiery faith to be released today in Jesus' name. Amen. That was beautiful. I love you. I love you too. You're amazing. You're amazing. That blessed me. We love you so much.

And I'll just end that with, I don't know, we don't know what you're going through or how painful it is right now or how dark it looks. But if we can just tell you anything, a small seat of faith means holding tightly to the hem of his garment like I read earlier. Hold on so tightly. Don't give up. Keep fighting with him. Keep earnestly seeking him like we read in the scriptures. Because on the other side, when you don't give up, when you keep fighting in faith in Jesus, is a harvest. It really is.

There's something that is going to be produced that is so incredible that wouldn't, if you didn't go through these trials, we wouldn't know God. We wouldn't even have the faith. We wouldn't even know to go back to these moments of the reason why I can have faith, the reason why Angela can have faith is because I can look back and I say, wow, he got me through this. that he was there through those dark times where I couldn't even see the light. And so just keep fighting with Jesus. Keep hanging on so tightly to the hem of his garment. So good. Thank you, Jesus.
