Starting point is 00:00:00 Guys, have you ever had a really stressful, unwanted thought pop up during worship? Maybe it made you feel like you needed to start your prayer over because it wasn't right or perfect. Or it filled you with shame or caused crushing guilt because it felt like it offended God. This might sound weird to some people, but a lot of people have thoughts like these, including Ari and I. And trust us, we know how scary and isolating they can be to struggle with. They can even lead to compulsive behavior like constantly asking for reassurance. punishing yourself for bad thoughts or worrying about participating in religious practices like praying or honestly even feeling like God's mad at you all the time.
Starting point is 00:00:38 But here's what changed everything for us. Learning that these thoughts aren't character flaws or signs of weak faith. They might be symptoms of religious OCD, also known as scrupulosity. You guys, OCD is really misunderstood, so a lot of people can be surprised to learn that it can focus on religion. But it's true, OCD can latch on to anything you deeply care about, including your faith. When it does, it can be devastating. But there's hope because with the right kind of therapy, OCD is highly treatable. That's where NoCD comes in.
Starting point is 00:01:08 With NoCD, you can do virtual therapy designed specifically for OCD. Starting point is 00:01:48 and book a free call. Okay, lately I've noticed something. It's not always the big things that make me feel off. So true. It's the basics. I'll be like, why am I exhausted, why am I grumpy? Why do I feel foggy? Yeah, I ask you that too. I know. I've basically lived on coffee all day and forgot to actually hydrate. Can you guys relate to that? Yes. That's why we've been using drip drop. It's not just about drinking more water. It's about getting hydration that actually works so our body and mind can show up the way we need it to. Drip drop is doctor developed. Proven fast hydration that helps your body and brain work better. It uses a precise ratio of electrolytes and glucose. for rapid absorption, delivering three times the electrolytes and half the sugar of leading sports drinks. You know I like that. Starting point is 00:03:19 That's dripdrop.com promo code GGB for 20% off you guys. Stock up now at dripdrop.com and use promo code GGB. G-B. Guys, I have to tell you the funniest thing. So I told Ari I am going to do like a 30-day sugar fast, like processed sugar. Oh, this is a funny story. And like, this is my coffee. It just has honey.
Starting point is 00:03:42 So like honey is fun. I just want to do a 30-day sugar fast, right? Like, whatever, December to January. And I asked Ari if she wants to do it for me and she's, or do it with me. And she's like, yes, I would love to. And so I get to her house last night. and she's drinking a Coke. Like a Mexican Coke.
Starting point is 00:03:58 They're my favorite. And I go, Ariel? Well, because then she goes, I have not had a sweet treat. Like, I wanted a cupcake. I'm so proud of myself.
Starting point is 00:04:07 She's like, I wanted to have a cupcake and I didn't have one. And I'm like, are you drinking that Coke? And she was like, I've had three today. She's like, yeah. And I was like, Ari,
Starting point is 00:04:18 do you know a Coke has 40 grams of sugar in it? Like, that's okay, but why are you pretending like you're doing a sugar fest with me? And she was like, it's a Mexican Coke. It's natural sugar? I'm like, what is that mean? She goes, it's natural sugar. I'm like, excuse me?
Starting point is 00:04:34 I literally go, did you read the nutrition fuck? She goes, no. And I'm like, are it's cane sugar? And she's like, are you kidding me? Oh my gosh. You thought it was sweetened with honey? Like it's a Coke. She goes, yeah, but it's a Mexican Coke.
Starting point is 00:04:51 But it's different from the canned Coke. You know that, right? Nope. I said our same ingredients. One is just simply in a can and the other one's in a glass bottle. Is the coax in the glass bottles, aka the Mexican bottles, better than the cans. Traditional Mexican Coca-Cola uses cane sugar while U.S. is often made with high-fructose corn syrup. Boo-ya.
Starting point is 00:05:13 Bia. High-futose corn syrup is disgusting. Right. That's in the Mexican, I mean in the American, but the Mexican coax that I drink in is straight-dain. is straight cane sugar i am maybe that's better blown up like a balloon hi guys i'm manj then i'm ari and this is girls gone bible we're a faith-based podcast where we talk all things spirituality mental health the bible dude we love jesus what would you do without jesus well you already know i wouldn't be here no be done in a bitch somewhere
Starting point is 00:05:47 guys if you haven't given your life to jesus and you're new to all this and you're just watching us some reason. I just want to tell you right now, there is no way to get through life, if not for Jesus. The second, you put your hope in anything other than Jesus, you crash, you crumble because life never turns out the way that you want it to or the way that you think it will. So putting our hope in Jesus is the only trustworthy thing that we have on this planet. So put your hope in Jesus. Let Jesus be the Lord of your life. We need him. We love him. He's alive. He speaks. He wants to be in relationship with you. Yeah. Jesus is everything. He should be everything. It's a good reminder. Thank you, Lord. I was a little bit anxious today.
Starting point is 00:06:34 Yeah, let's talk about it. I've been a little bit anxious today. Sometimes when you're so anxious, it's so hard to stay on your knees, stay in that quiet time. That's just life, right? Yeah. I was reminded of that because we talk about it a lot in our shows. how to get down there into that intimacy time. But I'll tell you, I had a hard time today to do that. Yeah. I don't know what it is. Sometimes life just makes you feel anxious. You wake up sometimes and you don't feel good. And it's really hard to sit there. So if you're someone who is going through that, I just want to let you know you're not alone. Yeah. I experienced that a lot. I think we've talked. I talked about it a lot that when I'm anxious, and I think both of our inclinations is to get anxious, when things are hard, when I'm anxious, I literally can't sit in the secret place. I can't do it. Like, I'm so antsy. I got to get up. I got to do so. It's so hard to be in the secret place when you're anxious. And right, like, it's the one time you should be in there. So I feel you completely. I've had plenty times where I sit down and I know.
Starting point is 00:07:51 know what I need is the presence of God. I know what I need is to sit and be loved and be washed in the word. And it's literally the, like, it's almost physically impossible for me to do that. So like Ari said, you're not alone. If you're in a situation like that, we understand you. We know what it's like to be anxious. We know what it's like to be restless. I feel like that's the right word right like when you're restless and just like feel like you're calling out of your skin yeah and i haven't felt like that in a long time what do you think it is i think when i know i have a lot of things coming up and i feel really overwhelmed right my mind gets really tired and my heart starts racing and it's too much to deal with so my first thing that i think to do is just like okay numb out on
Starting point is 00:08:42 something like I'm out on the phone like watch funny videos which is fine sometimes when you just want to not think about things but um I think when I have so much going on I get really overwhelmed and overstimulated yeah and I just can't you know so I think that's what's been going on this past few days oh I feel you girl I feel you the way to ministry is not easy guys ministry is so many people want to get into ministry and I'll tell you it's it's a it's not easy no it's incredibly heavy it is so heavy costly yeah and it's so worth it but it's not like it's not like anything else like it's so worth it it's so worth it but it's not like anything else the fact that there's a spiritual aspect to everything we do no matter where we go even if it's
Starting point is 00:09:34 like a seemingly insignificant thing that we have to do like a little podcast or a little this like if you are representing and proclaiming the name of Jesus, you're in battle 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It's just the fact of it. And obviously, Jesus fights the battle for us, but that doesn't mean that we come out completely unscathed sometimes. And it can be really, really heavy. And yeah, we've been doing a lot of ministry recently.
Starting point is 00:10:02 We've had a lot of GGB nights. We've been doing a lot. And it's so beautiful. And I think we're both going through a little bit of a time right now. And I think we're doing the most amount of ministry during a challenging season, which is just... But even just like telling you guys that I feel like I was a little anxious today, it like almost loses its power a little bit. Yes. So it's so good to be open about things.
Starting point is 00:10:31 Like I just saying that because I was like, I don't want to just... Yeah, it like loses its power a little bit. That's why it's so good to... to friends and stuff when you don't feel good. It's the best thing you can do. You have to talk to people. The minute you start to just like be vulnerable, it just loses its power automatically. It really does. Yeah. Before we get into today's episode, we want to remind you guys that we're on the Girls Gone Bible live tour. Guys, we have L.A. this weekend on Saturday the 6th. So exciting. It's so exciting. It's our home base. We've never done L.A. before.

And there are, I see so many people tagging us in like Bible studies and in like small groups.
Starting point is 00:11:41 Oh, that's my favorite. Going through the. It is everything. It's, it's, it's, we couldn't have even imagined that we'd be in that position and just thank you Jesus for vulnerability. Because we don't got a lot, but what we do have is Jesus and we have our vulnerability. So you can go to girls gone Bible.com slash book to get your book. Message and data rates may apply C terms for details. All right. So today, we are doing like a, like a Q&A kind of. We have questions. We wanted to just have fun with you guys. We wanted to laugh. We wanted it to be lighthearted. And one of the questions that I loved was like, what is something that God has been teaching you? And I thought it would be so cool for you and I to both read a little something out of scripture that has spoken to us recently. Okay, I want to start with reading you guys something out of Isaiah 48. I've been reading, I've just been going through the book of Isaiah recently. It's so funny.
Starting point is 00:14:56 I haven't even read the whole book of Isaiah, but I literally, when I don't, when I need comfort and when I need grounding specifically, I'll start out like Isaiah 43 until 53 and just like read those 10 chapters back and forth. And I don't know why exactly it's so grounding for me. It's like whenever I feel like I've lost my footing in a way, if I'm ever disoriented, I go to Isaiah. First of all, Isaiah 53 is called the suffering servant. So it's the prophet Isaiah talking about the crucifixion of Jesus way before its time. And so that's always really grounding for me because I'm like, that's my guy, that's my Jesus. And then I obviously love the Old Testament so much because the Israelites, as we read, you know, about the past two episodes, the Israelites are a mess. They're disobedient.
Starting point is 00:15:49 They're unfaithful. and it's just so incredible for me how God speaks through the prophet Isaiah constantly and he's like hurt by the Israelites he's hurt by his people but like his hurt and his anger is never an end it always ends up with him asking them to come to him and so it's just always really comforting for me for for some reason to see God's disappointment All right, guys, we had this moment the other day. We're sitting there and realizing how much better we feel when our nails look good. And not in a vain way, but in a put-together functioning adult way.
Starting point is 00:16:30 We just want to be honest that when we found Olive in June, it was honestly game-changing. This past weekend, when we were on tour, I broke a nail, right? And I was freaking out. I always break a nail in the worst times. And you know what we did? We brought Olive in June with us, and I was able to use a stick on nail that lasted better than the acrylics that I had on from the nail salon. So all of the June is genuinely our day saver every time we need it. Their manning system has everything you need for salon quality
Starting point is 00:17:01 manicure in one box. Salon grade tools designed just for DIY. Your choice of six polishes in the wild part. Their polish doesn't chip in last seven days or more. And the value, it breaks down to about $2 of manicure. Crazy. I think the biggest difference for me is how easy it is to get salon-worthy nails at home. My nails used to look kind of questionable. Now they look like I actually tried. Whenever I use this, I don't miss the salon at all. The appointments, the rushing. I can do my olive and June manis on the couch with the show on. I will be catching up with some friends. And if you're a press on girl like I am, their pressons are unreal. They look so real. They last so long and the sizes are actually customizable so you'll get the perfect fit.
Starting point is 00:17:43 They're non-damaging. Take less than 10 minutes and the removal, warm water. That's it. Also, You're only $10 a set. Or if you're impatient, hi, me. They're quick, dry polished literally dries in about a minute. Last five days and comes in 15 cruelty-free vegan shades. Whether you're a DIY queen or someone who's just trying to get your life together, one manicure at a time, Olive and June makes it feel easy, affordable, and honestly, kind of fun. Visit oliveenjune.com slash G-G-B for 20% off your first gel system.
Starting point is 00:18:11 That's O-L-I-V-E-A-N-J-U-N-E dot com slash G-G-B for 20% off your first. gel system in unfaithfulness of his people and in their disobedience, which is me half the time, you know? And so to see that like even his anger is not an end. So whatever I'm going through, whatever I'm stumbling through life through, like I can see God's character as a father of being like, I don't care what's happening. I want you. You know, it's really grounding for me. But something that I read that was like pretty humbling and like just crazy. I'm going to read Isaiah 48, verse 9 to 11. It's short, but it's so rich.
Starting point is 00:18:57 So he says, for my name's sake, I defer my anger. So this is God talking. For my name's sake, he says, I defer my anger. For the sake of my praise, I restrain it for you, that I may not cut you off. Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver. I have tried you in the furnace of affliction For my own sake For my own sake I do it
Starting point is 00:19:23 For how should my name be profaned My glory I will not give to another So I love this moment so much Because God says For my name's sake I deferred my anger God should be so incredibly angry at us Like he should actually burn us all up Because of our disobedience and our evil
Starting point is 00:19:42 And all our sin and all the things And yes, he loves us, so he doesn't destroy us. But what I love about God is he actually cares about his own reputation. Isn't this so interesting? For my name's sake, I defer my anger. For the sake of my praise, I restrain it. He's like, I'm not going to destroy you completely because it's not who I am and I care about my reputation.
Starting point is 00:20:05 You guys deserve to be destroyed. Yeah, yeah. But because I'm faithful and I keep true to my promises, I'm not going to destroy you. because God always is faithful to who he is, for who he says he is. And he says, behold, I have refined you, but not as silver. Because when you refine silver, it's out of heat that is so high, humans couldn't take it. We wouldn't be able to withstand it. So he says, I have refined you.
Starting point is 00:20:32 So I have put your feet to the fire a little bit. You are suffering because of your disobedience. You are going through trials because you have disobeyed me, but not to the point that you're destroyed completely. So that's always so encouraging for me that even if I'm facing such deep suffering, I will never be destroyed by it. God's never going to take you through something that will destroy you. Your suffering is not the end of your life. It's never an end.
Starting point is 00:20:58 But there is something that's really, really good and profound that's being produced in you through the suffering. I have tried you in the furnace of affliction. So God lets us know, like, I am putting, I am letting you go through things. I am because it's good for you And then he says for my own sake For my own sake Like he says it twice I do it
Starting point is 00:21:20 Because how should my name be profaned How could I let my name be disgraced And people no longer trust me My glory I will not give to another So I just think this is profound I don't know if anybody else thinks it is But I love scripture I love Jesus I love the character of God
Starting point is 00:21:39 And it's so cool to me that It's just humbling to know that we deserve so much worse than what we get. Oh, yeah. And God is so kind, and he's also reputable. And that also is so comforting for me to know that if God's made promises over my life, which he has, that he works all things together for good in my life, and that he, whatever the enemy meant for evil, God will turn for good,
Starting point is 00:22:07 and goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life. If these are promises, I can count on them. not even just because God loves me to keep them, but he cares about his own reputation. Yeah, yeah. So cool. And I love in Romans 828, he said I work all things together for the good, but he doesn't say that it's going to feel good. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:25 You know what I mean? Yeah. So I just, I know, suffering, it's so painful in the moment, but it's, I think about us, we would never be able to handle even what we have now if we didn't go through the suffering. we wouldn't be who we are the best parts of us were forged in the suffering like you see someone who's never suffered and i'm just like and you're like you got to go through a little something you know because it just makes you a more compassionate person it makes you a stronger person yeah it makes you a person that yeah can withstand trial i know it's the most important thing like
Starting point is 00:23:10 I used to be so embarrassed about how I grew up and where I come from and stuff, and I couldn't be more proud now. Yeah. Because I'd be like I would never be tough the way I am if I didn't go through all I did since I- Like, I always say like not everything's in the perfect will of God, like what you go through and abuse and all these things, but he really does work all things together where you are able to help and have a compassion and love more and withstand more. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:39 it's so true and it makes you a better person it really does unless i always say the person that i mean better ghost has i hope he has been through a couple things i hope so too yeah no i hope so too well i said this the other day on um ebenezer's podcast actually where i was like suffering that's not submitted to jesus will end in it'll result in bitterness and a callous heart and it'll result in being just traumatized and maybe not good to people, but suffering that is under the blood of Jesus can only produce goodness inside of you. Like it's literally the tool, the resource, the thing that God does to carry out Genesis 50, 20 in our lives, that whatever the enemy meant for evil, God will use for good.
Starting point is 00:24:30 So no matter what tragedy you are facing, if it's under the blood, it will be for your benefit. And that benefit is usually a better character. What is that scripture? Don't rejoice in the fiery trials. I'm combining like three scriptures. Whatever. Rejoice. But what do you mean by like if it's not submitted to the Lord?
Starting point is 00:24:54 Like if you try to do life your own way? Well, if you get traumatized through life, like for example, I've been through a lot in my life. Before I met Jesus, it wasn't serving me well. You know? Sure, it probably made me strong, but I definitely had stuff, right? I'm like, turning to alcohol. I'm turning to people. I'm turning to this, that, whatever.
Starting point is 00:25:15 Like, it certainly wasn't serving me well, the suffering. But the second I gave my life to Jesus, the second I pled the blood of Jesus over my life, I became an overcomer. I became victorious. So God was able to use all of my suffering, all of my brokenness, everything that the enemy meant for evil. was able to use it to my benefit and he still does every day right it's like a work of sanctification but every single day through my suffering through trials I become more like Jesus yeah yeah
Starting point is 00:25:47 and guess what the whole point of a Christian walk is it's not to have a perfect life yeah and I hate that yeah I really want a perfect life yeah I hate suffering I hate feeling pain I hate having a bad I'm like the queen of I want every day to be a good day but I know that I am becoming more like Jesus every time I hurt and so yeah this is what I'm doing a lot recently guys where I'm just like
Starting point is 00:26:14 if I have to go through something as hard as it is first of all rejoicing in the middle of pain is just the greatest weapon that you can use against Satan literally the greatest weapon against darkness is in the middle of crying being like
Starting point is 00:26:31 thank you Jesus thank you Jesus even if you don't mean it Thank you, Jesus. Even neurologically, even psychologically, you're doing something. And spiritually, I know you're doing something. You're like pushing back against the darkness. And then something else that I'm doing a lot recently is being like, if I have to go through something, just don't let me miss what you're doing in me, Jesus.
Starting point is 00:26:58 Don't let me spiritually or emotionally bypass whatever it is that you're doing inside of me. Don't let this suffering be in vain. Just like we don't want Jesus' suffering to be in vain. That's why we submit ourselves to a holy and righteous life so that Jesus can receive his reward for his suffering. We also don't want our suffering to be in vain. So I constantly, even in my worst times, I say don't let me miss what you're doing in me. If I can just shift my perspective and lift my eyes a little bit above my current circumstance, And I can see spiritually, Jesus is producing something inside of me.
Starting point is 00:27:36 I say, just don't let me miss what you're doing. Let it take place. Form yourself inside of me. Yeah. And then another thing would be not hiding in the dark. Yes. You know, one of the greatest practices of relationship with Jesus is not only falling into his arms like a child, but also falling into your friend's arms like a child.
Starting point is 00:28:00 and just not hiding, not, you know, grieving in community, crying out in community. It really does heal. Yeah. That's why he gives us each other. I would die if it wasn't for my friends and the people in my life. And I remember Tony said something really good where she was like, you need to forge your friend group and the people in your life in good times because you don't want to be scrambling in bad times looking for people to be there for you. And so it's just like so cool when you know
Starting point is 00:28:36 you're going through something difficult and you automatically have just an army of people behind you there for you. Doesn't it make you feel so seen and so loud? Dude, I feel like I can get through anything when I have my troops. All right, listen, guys, we didn't realize how much our cookware was betraying us until we learned what's actually hiding in most nonstick pants. Are you ready for this? Forever chemicals, toxins. The way that one tiny scratch can release thousands of plastic particles into your food. Yeah, absolutely not. That was good. That was my sign to upgrade. And honestly, switching to our place, it was one of the best decisions we've made. Our place makes a beautiful, high performance, completely toxin-free cookware. No PFAs, no Teflon, none of the stuff that leeches into your food, your home, or your body. It's cookware that's safe, actually performs. Eggs just slide out like you.
Starting point is 00:29:29 a dream and the cleanup is easy and everything looks so good, like genuinely, the pans and the pots, all of the cookware looks beautiful. The hero is their four-piece cookware set, which gives you two always pans and two perfect pots in full and many sizes. These four pieces replace an entire chaotic cabinet of cookware. Starting point is 00:30:14 side-eyeing your pan wondering what's coming off of it. And if you're more into appliances, the wonder oven is unreal, guys. It has sold out eight times. And the always pan pro is the first non-stick pan with zero coating made from pure titanium. Basically, if your cookware needs a glow-up, This is the moment. I came across this scripture and I think it would be good to read for you guys. I think sometimes we don't even know why we feel so sick inside because we're so covered in shame. And we just constantly have this voice telling us that we're not going to be forgiven and God is so mad at us. And it's just, I'm so sick of that, of like, this perception of life with Jesus, of it's just this rigid, I can't do this. or I'm going to be, you know, just put to shame.
Starting point is 00:31:30 And I came across Psalm 32, and I thought it was so beautiful for someone who's just struggling. Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight. Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of guilt, whose lives are lived in complete honesty. When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away and I groaned all day long. Day and night, your hand of discipline was heavy on me. My strength evaporated like water in the summer heat. Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, I will confess my rebellion to the Lord, and you forgave me.
Starting point is 00:32:18 All my guilt is gone. Therefore, let all the godly pray to you while there is still time. that they may not drown in the floodwaters of judgment. For you are my hiding place. You protect me from trouble. You surround me with the songs of victory. Yes. The Lord says, I will guide you along the Beth Passway of your life.
Starting point is 00:32:39 I'll advise you and watch over you. Do not be like senseless horse or mule that needs a bite or brittle to keep it under control. Many sorrows come to the wicked, but unfeeling love surrounds those who trust in the Lord who have reverence. so rejoice in the lord and be glad all you who obey him shout for joy all those whose hearts are pure isn't that beautiful it's insane this isn't a pass to sin but it just shows you the jesus and if somebody's really struggling with repentance and you keep doing the same thing over and over you've been a Christian for so long and you still have one foot in and one foot out and you're still in habitual sin or you're still jealous or you're still prideful or whatever it is. Ask the Lord to help you with
Starting point is 00:33:29 your heart. Say, help me love you more than I love that thing. He will help you. I was living in ignorance for a long time. I had a lot of pride before I really made the decision to lay down my life and I had to really get down on my knees and say, I need help. Like, it feels impossible to let go with certain things that I'm holding on to, and I need help. And the more I was compelled by the love of God, I just, that stuff started to be so sick to me. Like, I started to actually hate it. I started to hate when, like, gossip came out of my mouth. I started to hate when jealousy started to arise in my heart.
Starting point is 00:34:12 I hated living in habitual sin. I didn't like being divided from certain people. And so just the more I started to ask him to help me with my heart, my heart was softened. I started to see straight and I wanted to follow him more. And repentance has been the greatest gift in my life. And I just love this so much. It's also just life with Jesus, you guys, is all about humbling. Getting humbled, being humbled. I think, you know, so much of what we go through in life, the most beautiful thing that I think God is oftentimes trying to produce in us is humility. And every time I face something, every time that things go awry or I'm hit with tragedy, I feel humbled almost every time. Every single time I'm always like, oh, man, this sucks, but I feel humble. I'm really humbled under God right now. Like I really, because if your life was perfect all the time and everything went the way that you thought it would, you would not be humble.
Starting point is 00:35:23 And God cares way more about you being humble than he cares about you being comfortable. Like I said, the whole point is that we become more like Jesus. And one of my favorite scriptures is that Jesus did not count equality with God as something to be grasped. but instead he humbled himself he emptied himself and another translation says he made himself nothing and he took on the form of a bond servant and he was obedient to the point of death even death on a cross so it's just like a perfect picture of the humility of jesus he is all humble he was born as a baby in the dirt humble he's a king who literally gave up his life and was murdered in the most disgraceful, disgusting, horrific way anybody can ever be killed.
Starting point is 00:36:16 And that's how humble he was. And so every time I'm facing something and my feet are to the fire, I'm like, Jesus, you love humbling me. And it's so painful. And it's so hard. But if I can become more like Jesus in any situation, it really is worth going through. And I know anybody who's going through that, it's the last thing you want to be. want to hear. It's so annoying. Trust me. I know whenever anybody's like, God's doing something in you. I'm like, shut up. That's not helpful. It's the truth. It's the truth. And the second you're out
Starting point is 00:36:51 of the hard situation, you go, thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. Life as a Christian, you rarely ever get out of the fire and don't say thank you, Jesus. When does that ever happen? It's so hard to say thank you, Jesus when you can't see the full picture. But the second you're out, you go, thank you, thank you. So, yeah, I don't know, the Psalm you read for me, for me, the Psalm you read to me was very much like, it's just humbling. It's humbling to sin, to repent, and then to get back up. Yeah. So if you feel like God is mad at you, I just, I want you to give the same grace to yourself as he's given to you right now. Humble yourself, just like you said. Humble yourself before him. The heartful repentance. Talk to him. Tell me what you're struggling with. It's so crazy how
Starting point is 00:37:44 guilty we feel. And then when David says, finally I confess all my sins and stop trying to and stop trying to finally hide the guilt, I will confess my rebellion to the Lord. And then he looks up. Can you imagine David? He goes, and you forgave me. All my guilt is gone. So when we come to that place of repentance and we cry out to God and we repent and then we're still feeling shame. I want you to understand that that isn't of Jesus. And I want you to remember what David said when he said, and you forgave me. All my guilt is gone. So sometimes I just, I don't know, I've had it on my heart that some of you guys are repenting, but you're still walking away feeling shame. And that is not of the Lord who will never condemn you or make you feel shame.
Starting point is 00:38:36 And so let's just be quick to remember that. Wait a minute. No, no, no. I'm feeling shame again. I'm starting to beat myself up. That's not of God. I take authority of that shame. I take authority of those thoughts. That is not of God. You keep saying that every time that thought will be, take authority of that thought. Okay. You punch that thought in the face and say, shut up the goofy spirit get out all right okay gabriella said why you so creepy man first of gabriel love you so much okay now that we've talked about suffering and dying let's have a little fun why don't we oh this is so good do you find it annoying when the person praying over the food is taking too long yes yes me too and i'm usually that person that prays for too long
Starting point is 00:39:26 Yes, I do get annoyed. A little bit, right? What is that? Because it's usually when I'm starving. Yeah, Ari's always like a fork in usually. Okay, if Jesus sent you a voice memo, what do you think he'd lovingly call you out on? Wow, that's a great question. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:48 I think what he would call me out on is, um, I think he'd call me out on is, um, I think he'd call us probably all out on this, but the capacity of the way he loves us, but the way we beat ourselves up every day. Because I think if we all truly understood the love of God, we wouldn't stress the way we do. Okay. What? Yes. And then there's been so many things in my life that he's been like, now do you trust me? Like, look at what he's done in my life. It's crazy. But sometimes I can still question things in his ways. It's so normal. And it's like insane because he's shown me over and over again how much better his ways are.
Starting point is 00:40:38 But still, I still worry sometimes about certain things. If certain things will come into my life. So I think he would lovingly be like, don't you know how much I love you? Stop dwelling. I love that. What about you? That is honestly, that's what I would have said. I would have probably been like, Jesus is probably like, Ange.
Starting point is 00:41:03 Sister, we, you got this. You've been here before. Like, you've got this. You have history with me. I feel like you would say it. I feel like Jesus would be like, you and I, we have history together. Yeah. Okay, you know me.
Starting point is 00:41:17 Yeah. Spirit. Okay, what is the most embarrassing thing that's happened to you while on stage? mine was so I want to be like a skinny legend and so I'm just kidding um but I went on stage and like I tightened my belt super tight and I was worshipping and I was like I can't breathe like I don't feel good and so my belt was so tight and I was on stage like it's like the second you walk on stage it is two hours or like an hour and a half of you being on that stage you can't leave you can't take a break like there's nothing you can do and so i'm sitting there and you're talking and
Starting point is 00:41:57 i'm like i can't breathe and i literally go you guys i'm so sorry this is so awkward are you can you come stand in front of me really quick she stood in front of me while i like untitened my belt like went like a belt buckle less and you thought that was embarrassing no it wasn't embarrassing but it was like weird that was hilarious i i've done that so many times we were about to go on stage i had my my tags on my dress still and so where i'm ahead of and i'm going to walk on stage and she grabs me by the neck because my my price tags were hanging off i forgot to take them off and i was like who is the worst driver how could they say do you think jesus farted is that is that why would they say that the answer is probably yes he's a human okay well that is
Starting point is 00:42:49 What were you going to say? What was the thing? Who's the worst driver? You are. You better shut up right now. Dude. You're like... I will say this about you.
Starting point is 00:42:59 Okay. I like that. You get us there. Even though it's driving over curbs and hidden pots, you get us there. I thought you were going to say hitting people. I haven't done that yet. But you know I'm a sick driver. You're a great driver.
Starting point is 00:43:14 I'm like... I'm like Marco Andretti. I can like weave through. He's a race. car driver. My gosh, you're about to make everybody who knows that really happy. Someone said is crop dusting rude. What's that? It's when you walk by someone and you fart and you keep walking. I'm so embarrassed. Shut up. Seriously. You don't get embarrassed with that stuff. I hate talking about boogers. I'm so embarrassed. Crop dusting. I didn't ask it. How do you know what
Starting point is 00:43:49 that is. Ari, why are you acting like you're in that Victoria show that we watched last night? Oh, I wouldn't tell him. Arie's a princess. If you were an animal, what would you be? It depends on the moon. No, we have to, we have to, sometimes a hippo. We have to say it for each other if I think you were an animal. I hope it's okay if I make some like, like body jokes. It's like, I want to, is it not? Is it not? No, you should not call yourself a hippo. I'm just kidding.
Starting point is 00:44:22 But like, I want to be myself and like make the, whatever. Okay. What animal would I be? Who cares? You'd be like a horse. I love that. You'd be like a horse. You're like a gorgeous horse.
Starting point is 00:44:41 Or like a bunny? Oh, you'd be a bunny. You would be like a. What? Like a giraffe. Excuse me? I don't even have a long neck. Beautiful.
Starting point is 00:44:55 That is so rude. You just called me a horse. Okay. Yeah, like a beautiful horse. I'm like a long neck giraffe. Like poke in my head in places I shouldn't be. No, I'm just kidding. You'd be like a lion-esque.
Starting point is 00:45:10 Lion-esque. Like a lion. Okay, don't ask if Jesus wanted. That's so weird. It's awful. That's awful. It really is. If God played a laugh track over your life, which moment would you replay the most?
Starting point is 00:45:24 Every moment I've had with you would be the laugh track of my life. Gosh, we have laughed. We have. Honestly, guys, when I think about the holidays growing up, there's one gift that I still remember, and it's mostly because I wish it had lasted forever. Oh yeah, you go first.
Starting point is 00:50:44 Yeah, careful. I'm taking a therapy. I'm just kidding. That genuinely, you go first. You go first. No, no, go. I don't want to. Go.
Starting point is 00:50:57 Go. Go. My. You can, don't fluff it either, be honest. Probably how bad you are with technology sometimes. Yeah. Oh, yeah, that does annoy you. It doesn't, I mean, the way you breathe down.
Starting point is 00:51:16 Like, it doesn't annoy me as much as I like, it triggers my control and I just want to do it for you. What do I do specifically? Um, just trying to see you do anything, like on your phone, like, it's, it irks you, huh? It just makes me be like, I got it, I got it, I got it. With something else? No, nothing. You go. What annoys me most about you?
Starting point is 00:51:38 My eating habits? Um. Well, no, they've gotten so much better. It's actually helped me. Really? Yeah. Yeah, it helps me not eat cakes after every lunch meal we eat. No, just some Mexican Coke with honey.
Starting point is 00:51:53 Okay, what? Oh, I know it annoys me. You can't sit still. No. You have to like, like, we can't just chill. It's like five minutes and then you're like pacing or you're on a call or you have to take a ride and then come back. Yeah, what is that? I'm like my mom.
Starting point is 00:52:14 My mom's the same way. My mom can't sit down on the couch. Like she always has to be doing it just always feels like there's something to do, you know, like something to complete. I'm just like very task oriented, like super type A. I'm actually not. Are you type A or type B? Type B. I'm a hybrid.
Starting point is 00:52:30 But I am type A with being on time. You are two hours early at the airport. Always. You're hybrid? Yes, you are hybrid. I'm a hybrid. I'm type A in some things and then very relaxed in other things. Like super chill, like cool girl. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:46 I'm like super chill, like I'm not even like, I'm so cool, guys. I'm, I think I'm a full and full type B, full on through. Full on through. What do you think? Yeah, I'd say you're super type B. Do you think God has a sense of humor and why? Yes, yes, yes. I know that Jesus has a sense of humor because we have the same humor.
Starting point is 00:53:10 He thinks I'm so funny and I think he's so funny. And me and Jesus laugh so much when I, I get touched by God. I get the holy giggles. And I swear all day, I'm telling jokes to Jesus in my head. And he's laugh. Like, I see his face and he's laughing. He thinks...
Starting point is 00:53:27 Are we in a hair? Do I sound like to get his brother? Am I material? Am I real? And I see him. And I'm telling me he's funny. He does me funny. And they're living!
Starting point is 00:53:42 I don't know. I'm like, I'm like... I'm literally picturing you in your room with like a straight coat on. You're like, whatever. The ones who get it, get it. The ones who don't, don't. No, I, um, are you kidding me?
Starting point is 00:53:59 The way I, I, oh, you guys definitely have a sense of humor together. If somebody could be a fly on the wall in my room. I'm so sorry. I got really excited. David Dance? Yeah, how'd you know? What would your move be? What's the first movie?
Starting point is 00:54:16 You'd pull out in a dance battle against King David. What is, what's one that you would do? You. You. Which one you would do? It just depends. I do like a little bit like, of like a, like a, like it's something in the hips. Well, what's a beat?
Starting point is 00:54:33 Can you give me a beat? Yeah, yeah, I could give you a beat. All right. Well, which one are you doing? You're doing one in the hips? Like a, well, yeah, maybe not like sexual. It's like an opa. Maybe like a little opa, like a little like a little like a.
Starting point is 00:54:46 Like, it starts in the hand and then moves down into the hips, you know? Oh, that's pretty good. Thank you. Can you do it, like, full and full through? Full through. Full send? Can you full send it? I don't know if I, I'm wearing leggings, so I don't know if I want to break the illusion that I'm wearing jeans.
Starting point is 00:55:00 Or like I'm dressed. Okay, because you have to move the hip. I am dressed. What? What would I do? Yeah, let's see your dance move. In front of King David? Oh, gosh, I'd be so nervous in front of King David.
Starting point is 00:55:12 No, no, David dance before the Lord. So how would you dance? well oh no i'm sorry it'd be a dance a battle against david so you i would be first of all i'd be i'd be like david i know i'm about to battle you but i need to know that i've been talking about you on the podcast every episode for you you don't know what you mean to me but anyways yeah i'd be like yeah yeah yeah like that that was awesome r could do it again Yeah, yeah. Get it, get it, get it. This is amazing. If Paul wrote a letter to y'all, what would he say? Okay, if Paul wrote a letter addressing GGB, like he wrote a letter addressing, you know, the Church of Corinth and Ephesus, he writes a letter to GGB. That would be sick. No, no, but like he's like mad, not mad, but he's like encouraging us, but also correcting us. Yeah, yeah. What do you think you would say?
Starting point is 00:56:15 I think he would say Stop giving dating advice Neither of you are married Literally, yeah I think that's the first thing you'd say And then I think he'd be so happy About the purity of our hearts
Starting point is 00:56:34 In ministry and for people But what would he correct us for? I think he would probably tell us to take down the old episodes where we told people that it's okay that they live together that's really or we told them that like
Starting point is 00:56:51 you can wear a Brazilian bikini I think we took that part out we did thank God I had this sense even back then to take that out yeah I think he would yeah I think
Starting point is 00:57:01 and I think he would say I need you guys to like even go further to helping more people like I need you to start getting out of this country and go to different countries Okay, impressions of each other.
Starting point is 00:57:16 You go first. Okay, you go first. No, you go first. You go first. Please, can you? Okay. Angela, you just went over the curve. Angela, you just went over the curb again.
Starting point is 00:57:41 Just relax, R. Relax. I'm just, I gotta, I gotta, I gotta, I'm, where are you going now? I'm just, I'm running into the gas station. You just got a protein bar, and, I know, I know, I just want to get one more. I need a water. So exciting. I can't stand you, dude, that's so rude.
Starting point is 00:58:03 Hi, okay, one more impression. This is going to be a good one. Okay, so the scene is me and Angela, we're going into a coffee shop. Say action. Action. You'd be the barista. Okay, I'm the barista. Hi.
Starting point is 00:58:18 Can I do a ice latte? Sorry, do you have unsweetened almond milk? Can you check? Can I see it? Do you have unsweetened almond milk? Yes. Okay, do you mind if I just see the label real quick? I promise. Can I just see it? It's right there.
Starting point is 00:58:43 Are you sure? Yes, please, please. Yes, can I just see it? Can me it? Yeah, thank you. Thank you. Oh, my. This is my new, this is my new favorite place.
Starting point is 00:58:54 Zero sugar. You guys, how did you guys know? How did you guys know I was coming? Okay, I'll do that almond milk. Starting point is 00:59:57 I feel like, I don't know. I just feel like I wasn't that nice to her. Did I pay attention to that girl? Like, do you think I showed her Jesus enough? Like, I just feel like, I don't know. I'm dwelling. Like, I'm freaking out. And I'm like, you don't understand it?
