Hi, guys, I'm Ange.
And I'm Ari.
And this is Girls Gone Bible.
And you know when I'm on this side of the, I was going to call it a bench, it's not a bench.
If I'm on this side of the table, you know we have a very special guest.
And today we are so excited to introduce our friend, Mr. John Bevere, husband of the infamous Lisa Bevere, who we had on.
Hi, John.
How are you?
I'm so good, Angela.
And yes, I am Lisa Bevere's husband and proud of it.
Okay.
We had the greatest time with Lisa.
I picked up from the airport and I got to drop her off.
And I was just like, this is one of the most incredible women I've ever met.
I mean, she has stories for days.
She's one of the most dynamic, interesting women I think I've ever met.
And real.
And so real.
And I would say the same thing.
She's remarkable.
You know, I just did a conference in Tampa Thursday night.
Lisa did the conference Wednesday night.
We actually didn't see each other.
But all they kept talking about is she stayed out two and a half hours and signed books and talked to ladies, right?
We sent three people out three different times to go get her and she wouldn't budge.
And so that's just my wife.
She is the most remarkable lady I've ever met.
That makes me so happy.
We've been married 40, 40 years this year.
Wow.
I'd marry in a heartbeat if I could again.
That is so sweet.
You guys have such a beautiful marriage.
You really do.
I love her.
I feel like the.
resources. So if you guys don't know, and I'm sure you do, because you guys are just like,
you guys are pioneers and staples of the Christian faith. And like especially you guys,
I feel like you and Lisa do such a good job at merging, like, genuine faith and walks with
Jesus with the online world. And I feel like sometimes you don't get that. It's not like people's
online life is not birthed out of like their real.
walk with Jesus. And you guys have a really solid foundation in your faith. Like really, really.
It's so real. The faith that you guys have, the spiritual life that you live is incredibly genuine.
So here's the thing. I've been in ministry for 43 years this year. I've been in a lot of green
rooms where I don't know how they started, but they lost the fire. They lost the passion.
They lost the genuineness. There was cynicism. I'm not saying.
saying this is rare, but it's happened.
Totally.
And I saw it, and I saw a lot of people leaving the ministry.
A lot of people fell from ministry, and my heart was broken.
And I suddenly realized the most important goal in ministry is to be more in love with Jesus
than when you started ministry.
So the day I leave this earth, I want to be more in love with Jesus than the day I started
ministry.
Because, you know, when you start ministry, you're on fire, right?
So the key is keep yourself free from offense, keep yourself from pride, walk in the holy fear of God, and be genuine.
Right.
And you don't have to build yourself or your ministry.
It's so true.
God's the one that gives the increase.
Yeah.
So if God wants me, because I remember I was on a program one time and the guy started putting to focus more on me.
instead of the book.
Wow. Wow.
And I got really uncomfortable
because all these,
this is back in the days
four floor producers
before podcasts, right?
And I'm like,
God, what do I do?
And the Lord showed me something.
I looked at him and I said,
you know,
there's a lot of,
you've got me on as a minister,
there's a lot of pastors
that pastor a little 400 member church,
200 member church,
in rural communities.
And they're obeying God.
you'd never have them on this program.
Wow.
I said the Bible says that I know whatever God does, it shall be forever.
Nothing can be added to it, nothing taken from it.
God does it that men should fear beforehand.
I said, I can't add anything to what God wants to do through my life.
I said, but I can mess it up.
Because if you look at the next verse, it says,
that which is has already been, that which is to be has already been,
and that which is in the past, we're going to give an account.
I said, so what is and what is to be, God's already planned it.
This episode is sponsored by BetterHelp.

Whether you're married, dating, single, or just figuring yourself out, most of us are
still learning as we go.
Nobody has it perfectly together.
And you are not behind.
You are right on time.
And that's where therapy can be really helpful.
It gives you space to slow down, sort through what you want, what feels heavy, and where you might be putting unnecessary pressure on yourself or your relationships.
Whether you're working on yourself or navigating dynamics with someone else, it can help you see things more clearly and move forward with more peace.
What I love about BetterHelp is that they do the matching work for you.

Only thing I can do is mess up what he planned.
Wow.
And I said, that causes me to fear.
And the guy went, yeah, that's right.
And the whole interview went back to healthy.
Wow.
Oh my gosh.
Yeah.
The way in which you guys live is so, so pure.
You know, we just want to glorify Jesus.
I mean, that's what we want to do.
I told my family, I said, look, there are millions of our books out there, your mom's
in my books.
I have prayed, and I've meant this prayer.
God, if you see me going off the rails, I want you to take me out.
Because I don't want to shame the name of Jesus.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
That's what we all, he gets all the glory.
Yes.
Right?
All, how could we ever earn what he did for us?
Never.
Yeah.
Okay, so all we do is out of Thanksgiving for the unspeakable gift he gave us of eternal life and freedom from the lake of fire forever and ever and ever.
Yeah.
How can we ever pay that?
We can never pay that back.
I know.
So anything we do is just out of thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you.
And you get all the glory.
So I love that about you guys.
I can see that with you.
Thank you.
That is so kind.
Let's get into your book.
So your new book is called The King is Coming.
So exciting.
Name, by the way.
Can you please?
The publisher.
I love it.
You know writing books is hard.
You said you've written 45.
No, no, 25 books.
25 books.
We've written one.
It was hard.
We were ripping out.
People don't understand.
It's a lot of work.
Yeah, it is.
Yeah, it is.
It is.
So your new book, The King is coming.
It's all about the second coming of Jesus and just how to live life with an eternal perspective.
Will you just get into, just tell our listeners what the book is about and how you came about this.
I know you had an experience five years ago that kind of birthed this whole situation.
So just get into that a little bit.
Well, Angela, I avoided the subject of the second coming for years.
Yeah.
And decades.
Let's say decades.
So when Lisa and I were in our 20s, we were in a big church, and this guy wrote this book,
88 reasons of why Jesus is coming back in 1988.
Oh, wow.
And it was September of 88.
And the guy's name, well, I don't need to even need to say it.
But anybody my age will know.
But it went wild.
I mean, it went viral.
And a bunch of my friends and I, we all bought it, hook, line, and sinker.
Lisa didn't, by the way.
And when September came and went, there was a lot of devastation.
The other thing I noticed was people stopped paying their credit cards.
They started running up their credit cards.
They started eating anything they wanted because, hey, we're getting out of here.
So I didn't like what I saw.
And people got lazy, people got apathetic.
They got an escape mentality.
Wow.
And so for decades, people would say, John, don't you preach on the second coming?
And I'm like, no.
that I'm not called to do that.
Wow.
And so about five years ago, as you just said, the Holy Spirit started dealing with me to start
really for me personally.
I thought it was just doing it for me, really diving into the second coming because
I started seeing it and seeing it seeing it.
Well, I didn't realize how much it's emphasized.
First of all, I didn't spend hundreds.
I spent thousands of hours studying on the second.
coming. Reading healthy writers, listening to healthy ministers. And girls, what I saw is good fruit.
Wow. I started becoming more passionate to get soul saved. I started becoming more passionate
about ministry. I was already passionate, but I got twice as passionate. I just remember
mornings weeping. There's a tennis court near our house, and that's where I go pray in the mornings.
Because nobody's around.
Wow.
Like I'll go out there at five in the morning.
It's just wonderful.
And so I find myself weeping.
God, I just want to win souls.
Please, just give me the chance to do altar calls.
I was kinder to my family.
I didn't get upset with my staff as much.
And I started thinking, wow, this is good fruit.
Well, then I learned that it's the second most talked about subject in the Bible.
Wow.
The second coming of Jesus.
There's 318.1.
verses in the New Testament, which is one out of every 30 verses. The church fathers of the first
three centuries, it was the second most talked about subject. It is the seven-year time period
of the tribulation is the most written about time period in all of the Bible. So even more so
than when Jesus walked the earth for the three and a half years, it's more written about that seven
years. So the question comes up, God, what is the wisdom behind this? Why would you emphasize this?
It's a foundational doctrine of the church.
And so I started discovering why.
I noticed what the first thing I did is I went back and I thought, okay, you know, Winston,
Winston Churchill made this statement.
He said, those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
Wow.
So I felt the Holy Spirit was saying, go back because there was controversy.
There was ambiguity.
There was, there was mockery.
There was, you know.
I mean, there was fear.
Not fear.
There wasn't fear, but there was a lot of uncertainty about Jesus' first coming.
People were divided.
It created an uproar, right?
And you have people that recognize them and people that didn't.
If you look at the Pharisees, the Pharisees could quote the first five books of the Bible from memory.
That's like memorizing Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John and Axe.

I mean, that's crazy.
The amount of time that yet he's 30 years old, casting out devs.
He's healing the sick. He's raising the dead. And they don't recognize him. Wow.
I mean, that's scary. That's wild.
Then when he's 40 days old, when Jesus is 40 days old, Mary and Joseph bring him into the temple.
And the temple would have crowds of people in it every single day. And this guy named Simeon does a V line, right to him, right to the parents, holds up the 40-day old Jesus and says the Messiah.
And it blows Mary away.
Yeah.
How come he recognized Jesus?
How come the Pharisees didn't?
So what I see about Simeon is a man, he was a man that pursued godly living.
He pursued humility.
He pursued holiness.
He pursued holiness.
The second thing, this is Luke 225, is that he was reverent.
Okay.
It said he was devout.
The word devout means he took the word of God seriously.
that he feared God.
So the fear of the Lord's the beginning of wisdom, right?
So the third thing was, and this one's really interesting,
he was eagerly waiting for the Messiah.
Then Anna recognized the 40-day-old baby.
She was eagerly waiting for the Messiah.
Wow.
Well, all of a sudden last year,
now, girls, I've been reading my Bible for 45 years.
Yeah.
I've never noticed this.
But I started noticing,
especially in the New Living Translation,
all of you that are eagerly waiting.
Paul said to the Corinthians, as you eagerly wait for the Lord's return,
Paul said to Timothy, hey, the crown is for me, not just for me,
but it's for all those who are eagerly waiting for his coming.
I started noticing eagerly waiting is everywhere.
So what creates eager, eager anticipation?
Think about being a kid at Christmas.
You count the days.
You count the hours on Christmas Eve.
You can't go to sleep.
you are eagerly awaiting Christmas morning when you get to open up the gifts that mom and dad give you, right?
What creates eager anticipation and engagement?
I remember when Lisa and I were engaged.
You know, she was home for two months getting the church ready.
I was in Texas.
That was the longest two months of my life, girls.
Days seem like weeks.
Weeks seem like months, right?
Wow.
And I remember when I finally got with her, the anticipation.
So what caused me to be so eager was it was something I greatly look forward to.
Right?
Yeah.
So why is eager anticipation so important?
Because John the Apostle, who wrote the book of Revelation, says,
all who have this eager expectation will purify themselves even as he is pure.
So what I discovered was the anticipation of his second question.
coming gives us the power to purify herself.
Now, the blood of Jesus purifies me.
Absolutely.
But sanctification is when I cooperate with the grace of God to live the godly life
he's called me to live.
That we have to cooperate with.
So John says when you have that eager expectation, it gives you the power to
purify yourself.
So if you look at the antithesis, Jesus talks all about a second coming in Matthew.
24, then he tells a parable. And he says, the servant that says, my Lord delays his coming,
the servant who says, my Lord delays his coming, will begin to eat and drink and get drunk
and beat the male servants. Wow. So what Jesus is saying is when you say his return is delayed,
you'll become more worldly. Oh, wow. What John is echoing is he's saying when you are eagerly
looking forward to his coming, then you will purify yourself as he is pure. I'll give you an
example. Lise's in Indiana were engaged. I don't care how gorgeous a girl was. I don't care how
sweet she was to me. Grand Canyon University is an affordable private Christian university in

offer. I wasn't interested. Well. Because I'm eagerly anticipating being married to Lisa.
Now, if I'm sitting there going, I can't look at that girl. I shouldn't look at that girl. I'm engaged.
Yeah. That's that's a law. That's law.
Yeah, yeah.
When we are so anticipating his coming because we are so in love with him, because we are, right, the love creates the eager anticipation.
This world loses its attraction.
Right.
God, that's so good.
That is so good.
That's so good.
Now, here's where it gets really good.
You're going to find all through the New Testament, the Lord is coming soon.
The end of the world is coming quickly.
The Lord is returning quickly.
Jesus is four times in Revelation.
I'm coming quickly.
Wow.
Okay, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
These are guys in the first century, quickly, soon.
Yeah.
We're talking about 2,000 years later.
What's going on here?
Is God deceiving us?
No.
Peter says that mockers are going to come in the last days.
And what are they going to do?
And they're going to live very fleshly lives.
And what are they going to mock?
They're going to mock the fact that Jesus is returning.
They're going to say,
where is the promise of his coming? Now listen to what they say. Ever since the fathers fell asleep,
all things remain the same as the beginning of creation. Now, first of all, are these guys atheists?
Are they, quote, believers? Atheists don't call church fathers fathers.
Atheists don't call creation, creation. They call it evolution. Peter's actually saying there's
people that claim to belong to God that are going to say, man, it's been 2,000 years.
Hey, the 12th century expected in the 13th century, but he said, you must not forget this one thing.
This is what he says to us.
A day with the Lord's a thousand years and a thousand years is a day.
Wow.
Okay.
So, all right, stop and think about this.
One of God's days is a thousand of our years.
Whoa.
That means my life.
Okay.
Okay, an average human being, let's just say they live to be 80 years old.
That's a little less than two hours to God.
That is so great.
One hour to God is 42.6 years.
A day with the Lord, 24 hours, divide 1,000 years by 24 hours and you get 42.6 years.
What?
Okay.
Now think about eternity.
Never, ever ending.
Your mind gets blown.
Yeah.
So 2,000 years in the scope of eternity is a very short time.
Wow.
So now, is he being deceptive with us?
No. God knows that the 12th century church, if they had the eager anticipation that the Lord could come today, they would have the power to purify themselves from worldly desires and things that would pull them away from his heart.
So he is allowed every generation. I'll give you an example. When Lisa and I were engaged, two months were apart, right?
two days before the wedding I flew,
two days before I fly up to Indiana after being apart for two months.
I'm on the phone.
And what do I say to Lisa?
I'm going to see you soon, babe.
So I'm not lying.
Soon is soon compared to the last two months.
God's not lying.
He's just protecting us.
So the way we should live is we should live like he's coming today
with that kind of eager anticipation.
But we should plan our lives like he's not coming for 400 years.
Wow.
Yes.
Yes.
I love that.
Why is that?
Because he said,
Occupy until I come.
Which means you are to be about my business until I come back for you.
That's what your girls are doing.
Yes.
I love that.
That is so good.
That's like mind blowing.
That is amazing.
In this book impacted me more than any book I've ever written.
Yeah.
Maybe driven by attorney might have been equal.
but there were mornings I came down to breakfast because I write early in the morning.
Yeah.
And I said, Lisa, I'm so sorry.
I'm quiet this morning.
I'm just shaken in a good way by what the Holy Spirit's showing me as I'm writing this book.
That is so special.
It really impacted me personally.
Wow.
Can we talk about the book of Revelation?
Sure.
I hope.
So is it Revelation 4 where it says like you're blessed if you read the Bible.
this book? Or is it Revelation 1?
Verse 3.
Verse 3. Okay. Yeah. What is the verse?
Blessed is he who reads the words of this prophecy to the church.
Blessed is he who listens to the words of this prophecy and blessed is he who obeys the words
of this prophecy.
Okay. I want to know why you're blessed if you read it.
Two, why it's so critical to read the book of Revelation 3.
What does it mean?
And how do people read it?
That's very good questions, Angela.
Okay.
First of all, what I just shared.
with you that, okay, that it gives me the purifying effect because it keeps before me,
he's coming, he's coming, he's coming. Do you girls know about the ancient Jewish wedding?
No. Okay, now I'm going to go off top. It's going to seem like I'm going off topic.
The reason we have so much trouble misunderstanding the end time events is because we don't
understand the way a Jewish wedding was conducted 2,000 years ago.
Wow. Okay.
So a lot of what Jesus says to his guys, they got it.
Because let's face it, have you guys been to a lot of your friend's weddings?
So you know exactly how the wedding goes.
It's the engagement.
The guy gets down on his knee, opens up the ring box.
That's your friend.
She screams.
She goes, yes, yes, yes.
They get married four or five, six months a year later, right?
there is an engagement period totally different for the ancient Jewish wedding.
Wow.
If you go back 2,000 years.
All right, guys, everyone's talking about New Year's goals and gym routines.
But lately, I have been thinking about something bigger.
Like the health of the kids in our lives, our nieces, our God kids, our friends, babies, or your own kids.
Because if we're honest, they're growing up on ultra-processed everything, dies, sugar, and literally every snack.
And it's kind of wild when you really think about it.
And that's why we love Haia health.
They make kids vitamins without all the gummy candy junk.
No sugar, no artificial dyes, just clean real nutrition.
The first time we got them, I actually tasted them myself just to see,
and they're actually so good, you guys, which explains why kids actually like them.
My niece, Sierra, is obsessed with them.
They're formulated with 12 organic fruits and veggies plus 15 essential vitamins and minerals.
Stuff that supports immune health, energy, focus, and growing bodies.
And everything's non-GMO, vegan, allergy-friendly.
It's so clean.
And here's something every parent needs to hear.
If getting your kids to eat vegetables feels like an impossible daily battle,
Haya's new kids' daily greens and superfoods is a total game changer.
It's basically chocolate milk stuffed with veggies, you guys.
It's a greens powder that's packed with 55 whole food source ingredients.
Just mix one scoop with milk or any non-dairy beverage
and watch them actually enjoy something that's secretly fueling their growing bodies.
We've worked out a special deal with Haya for their best-selling children's vitamin.
Receive 50% off your first order.
That's crazy, guys, 50% off your first order.
To claim this deal, you must go to hiahealth.com slash g-g-b.
This deal is not available on the regular website.
Go to h-I-Y-A-H-E-A-L-T-H-T-H-com slash G-GB
and get your kids the full-body nourishment they need to grow into healthy adults.
The father and the groom, the potential groom, would go to the girl's house and sit down with the family.
They would bring with them a kutuba, which is.
a written, that's a Hebrew word for a written contract.
Wow.
They would discuss the terms of the marriage, especially one of the things they discussed,
was the Mohar.
Now, I've read three books on this last year to make sure I get it, because this is fascinating.
The mohar is the bride price.
Back in those days, everybody in the family pitched in.
So if you're one of the daughters, you're washing the clothes, you're, or, you're,
preparing food. You might be getting the water for the family. So the groom and the groom or the groom
and the groom's father would come in and say, okay, we're going to give, you know, 50 cattle for your daughter.
We're going to give 50 pieces of silver. It would be silver, whatever. Anything of value. If you look in the,
if you look further in the Old Testament, you see Jacob work for seven years for Rachel and Leah, 14 years, actually.
David was 100 Philistines, four skins.
That was the bride price for Michael, right?
So you see this.
All right.
So once they agreed to the bride price,
the bride and the groom would drink a glass of wine together.
And they'd smash the glass.
The groom would leave.
And he's going back with his father.
And you know what he's going back to do?
To build a room off his father's house for he and his bride.
Jesus said, don't let your heart be trouble.
even God believe in me. In my father's house, there are many rooms. If it were not so, I would have
told you. Behold, I'm going to prepare a place for you. Wow. And if I do, I will come back and
receive you. Paralumbano is the Greek word he uses. Receive you to myself. Wow. That is the same
Greek word that Jesus said, two women will be at the mill. One will be taken the other left. Two men will be
in the field, one taken the other left. Two will be in the bed. One will be taken, one will be left.
All three times the word taken is Paralumbano. Wow. Now, the bride would then immediately, like a day
or two later, go through a bat, she would be immersed into clean water. They call that the
migva. The Jerusalem Bible actually says that he's washing his bride with the migna, so to speak.
Okay?
Yeah.
So now, what was her responsibilities?
Because they're going to be separated for about a year.
He's going to be back there building the room for about a year.
She's going to be making her wedding dress.
She's going to be packing her trunk.
And she's going to be making sure she's got a lamp with plenty of oil for the torchlight procession.
The groom has no idea when he's going to go get his bride.
It's not until his father looks at.
the room that he's built for her.
It's usually about a year later.
And he says, go get her.
Wow.
When he comes and gets her, he has a bunch of guys that all have torch lights.
They have chauffeurs.
And they wait until night.
Wow.
Because everybody is together at night.
They don't have street lights.
You don't have any, like here in Hollywood, you have lights all over the streets and all
that stuff.
There's none of that.
Everybody's in their homes at night.
Yeah.
So they come into the brides.
community making all kinds of noise,
flown the showfars, they go straight to her house.
The groom catches her away, literally pulls her out of her house.
She hears the torchlight.
She puts on her veil.
She puts on her travel out, her wedding outfit, excuse me.
And now when the bridesmaids in her community,
hear the groomsmen come in, they join the torchlight possession.
Remember the parable about the bridesmaids?
Yeah.
Okay.

They're supposed to join the tors like possession.
He gets there.
Now a bunch of the people from the community start going back to the groom's house.
The groom runs ahead.
She comes with the whole procession, veil.
He presents the whole.
Hoopa, that's the room that he prepared for her.
They go in, they consummate the marriage, all right?
And they have a party for seven days, everybody else,
and they don't see the bride and groom for seven days.
Wow.
At the end of seven days, he brings her out unveiled.
Now, there are so many similarities to the language we have in the Bible of this.
Wow.
First of all, we get baptized.
When we're baptized, what happens?
we're washed with the water of the word and we're baptized in water.
That is us saying, I'm purified, I'm set apart from my groom to come back and get me.
Secondly, if you look at the betrothal, the moment they drink that wine, they're betrothed.
Our engagements can be broken, right?
We all know that.
You have to get a divorce if you're betrothed.
So the moment they signed that contract, they're actually married.
Remember Joseph was going to put it away?
way, marry privately, he had to divorce her. You could divorce her publicly or privately. Privately,
she would be shamed, publicly would shame her entire family. He chose to do it privately because he was
a just man. So the thing about Jesus, he says, I'm going to come, I'm going to go and prepare a place,
I'm going to come back, and I'm going to get you. We're his bride. Now, if you look at Revelation
17, no, 196 and 7, it says, the wedding of the lamb has come, and the bride. And the bride, and the
bride has made herself ready. How did she make herself ready? She has to make her wedding dress.
They didn't have Vogue magazine back then. She couldn't go into a bridal store and buy a, a dress.
Yeah. So she's got to make her wedding dress. That's what everybody is up to 150 years ago. That's
what all brides had to do. I'm thinking, can you imagine if we had to make our wedding dress and our
men had to build homes? Like, we can't do that now. We need to wake up. We need to wake up. We need to
wake up.
I mean, I'm not knocking progression.
I'm not knocking that.
But what I'm saying is you've got to think back to the time.
Right.
Totally.
Okay.
So listen to what Revelation 19.
The wedding of the lamb has come.
His wife has made herself ready.
We are his wife.
She's got to make her wedding dress.
To her, it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen,
clean and bright for the fine linen is the righteous acts, works of the saints.
What we're doing for him, what you girls are doing for him, you're literally making your wedding garment.
Now, if you look at the Western church, we have people that go to church for 90 minutes and then they go out and live for themselves the rest of the week.
Yes.
I don't think we've got enough material to make a bikini, let alone a wedding dress.
Wow.
Are you seeing what I'm saying?
Yeah.
So now, do you remember in Matthew 22, Matthew 22, the King,
has invited all these guests to come to his wedding banquet.
All right, guys, let's have a little wellness moment for a second.
Lately, I've been realizing that when I'm not nourishing my body, everything feels harder.
My energy's off, my mood's off.
It's like my spirit wants to show up, but my body's tired.
So I've been focusing on really simple grounding things, nothing extreme, just better ingredients.
And one thing I've genuinely been loving is paleo Valley's 100% grass-fed bone broth protein.
It's made from real grass-fed and finished beef bones that are slow simmered the traditional way,
like homemade bone broth, but you don't have to spend 12 hours cooking it yourself.
It's packed with collagen and about 15 grams of protein.
And I just throw it in my coffee or a smoothie and I don't even taste it.
They've got unflavored, vanilla, and chocolate.
And the chocolate one literally tastes like hot cocoa, not healthy powder, which we love.
And I really appreciate how clean it is.
No harsh processing, no weird chemicals, just simple ingredients that you actually feel good about putting in your body.
It's just one of those small daily habits that helps you take care of yourself, mind, body, and spirit.

They all say, no, I'm busy. I got land. I've just married somebody.
So he's furious. He says, go out to the streets, compel him to come in.
A guy comes in and the king walks in and notices this guy doesn't.
have a wedding garment on.
He said, why did you come here without your wedding garment?
Bind him hand and foot and take him out.
Matthew 22.
Okay.
Wait a minute.
We're saved by grace.
Yes, we are.
But I want you to consider a scenario.
Let's say there's a royal family.
The greatest king that's ever lived.
And he comes to my community.
I live in a slum.
I have absolutely nothing.
Mm-hmm.
I mean, literally nothing.
I'm a street kid.
He says, I want you to come to my wedding, my wedding feast.
Here's $2,000.
Buy yourself a wedding outfit.
Wow.
But I use the $2,000 to get MBA tickets, to get Xbox,
to go out and have fun with my friends.
Yeah.
And I blow through it.
Now I go and I have nothing.
So here is, the bride has made herself ready.
Remember those virgins, their lamps were going out at midnight.
And they said to the wise who feared God, who obeyed the word of God, our lamps are going out.
And the wise, what did the wise say?
Oh, yeah, here's some.
They said, go to those who buy, who sell and buy for yourselves.
Remember Jesus said to the layodicy in church, I advise you to buy you to
buy from me gold, refined and fire, and buy from me isa, and buy from me white garments.
We can't earn our salvation.
Yeah.
But he gives us the grace that we can do the works that make our wedding dress.
Yeah.
Does that make sense?
That's so cool.
And so, you know, I look at people today in America, and it's like we're not telling them the full picture.
Wow.
Yeah.
We're creating people who are going to possibly miss his coming.
Yep.
Or be saved, but is through fire.
Yeah.
Instead of telling, what you do with the cross does indeed determine where you're going to spend eternity.
Yeah.
If I believe with all my heart in Jesus, which means I'm going to live for him, I'm saved.
Yeah.
Right.
But the way we live determines how we're going to spend eternity.
Whoa.
Okay, so there are actually people that think heaven's going to be boring.
Okay, so that's ridiculous.
What created all of this is going to be more boring than this?
Yeah, yeah.
Do you think it's going to be an eternal worship service?
They think, you know, whatever.
Yeah.
There's going to be activity.
There's going to be building.
There's going to be communities.
There's going to be planning.
There are going to be people that will be ruling 10 cities,
Jesus said.
Yeah.
There'll be people
that won't rule any city.
Yeah.
What determined that?
How they obeyed him now.
Yeah.
Do you see what I'm saying?
Yeah, totally.
Okay.
So we are actually,
we're forming our job descriptions
for eternity right now in this short life.
Wow.
But can you walk everyone through what that looks like?
Mm-hmm.
Can you do that?
Because some people are like,
okay, well, I read the word.
I, like, can you walk us through step by step
How to live that out.
Okay, so how that happens or how to live that out?
Like how to live that out.
Like I read the word I obey it, but you said how you live here determines where you'll be in eternity.
What is most important is that we live a life that's obedient to God.
Yeah.
So every day when we get up, we should be Lord, I'm yours.
Whatever you want to do with me today, I'm yours.
And if that's talk to one person, if that's preaching to us,
a thousand people. I love that. If that's working in my factory, if that's being a stay home at mom
and taking very good care of my children, it's what God has given us all different tasks.
We have people in the marketplace and healthcare. We have education. God has put all these people
in there because why? We're the restraining force that is holding back lawlessness. You will find
believers in every sector of society. And that is what's holding back lawlessness from just running,
rampant and taking over.
Yeah.
