Hello and welcome to, gosh, this is a very, what is this? A very different Girls Gone Canon. What do we call this? Welcome to a Girls Gone Canon episode starring one of your hosts, me, Chloe. And another one of your hosts, me, Eliana. See, we switched it up. And that's how you can tell it's different because the intro is a little different. If you're listening, like if you're out there, it is the last Friday of the month.

And with that in mind, you may have noticed somewhere over the last four years, almost five years, wow, that we don't really do in a Song of Ice and Fire episode the last Friday of the month. This episode is usually reserved for His Dark Materials or for another series that we're covering. another series that we're covering. But if you're keeping a sharp eye on things, we finished up the main trilogy of His Dark Materials this past year in 2022. And now, 2023, we had a couple of weeks we needed to take off for this last bit of the month as we gear up for some launching things. Yeah, but we're not completely done yet with His Dark Materials.

Let me tell you, starting literally next week, yes, the show for His Dark Materials finished. Yes, we finished the main trilogy of the books. However, our lovely patrons over on patreon.com slash girls gone canon on our discord have started a rewatch or are starting a rewatch of season three that will include live discussions yeah they're gonna be hosted by our friends at the patreon different different friends every week our friends pete and cassidy are really taking it on to host this they hosted a rewatch for the other two series as well and pete and cassidy i can't commend them enough for the work they're putting

in on this i mean they're treating it like the best project ever. I'm very excited to sit back and relax and listen to them take it away. It'll be happening for Thunder Tier patrons every Saturday. and all of the things we're about to get to in a dance with dragons in our song of ice and fire reread which i am enjoying i am enjoying it immensely i am having the time of my fucking life every single week when we record if that's not apparent i love love, as apparent, of Bran. I love Bran. I love him. The Bran chapters are really good. I am really happy to be doing them. And honestly, I kind of almost might have forgotten about the Mystery Knight again. You know, you and I first started the podcast

kind of doing coverage of the Hedge Knight. And then later on, we did cover the Sworn Sword. And I think I would have completely forgotten there was a third Duncan Egg for a bit. Not that, that like it doesn't matter to me it does matter to me but we we have so many things going on until we were talking about ann who also talked about the hedge knight with us and then we were talking about other things and the blood raven i was like something goes together about these two things i was like something important is happening here that i'm forgetting well we sewed it together we sewed it together yeah and the sweet yft you may know from internet

fame is joining us for our next brand episode the next episode on the track which is going to be brand four at the night fort in a storm of swords And we're coming up fast on a dance with dragons on a Dawada. And we'll be joining us. However, that episode will be delayed by one week. We will not be back with Bran IV on the 3rd of February. We will have another episode out in place of that, which we will reveal very shortly. All will be revealed. But we will be back

with bran in a storm of swords on february 10th featuring our friend and sweet yft who's going to serenade us all about baby boy bran and the very creepy fort yes very excited about that and so what are we doing instead of our usual weekly A Song of Ice and Fire episode? Just so that all of you are not surprised when this happens. You and I are doing something a little different. And by that, I mean, extremely different. It's too early for April Fools. So when you open your feed on two, oh my God, when you open your feed on two, three, February

the third, do not be shocked it is still the same podcast we are actually doing a miniature version of something that i have craved for my entire existence throughout this podcast at least uh gossip girls gone canon is finally happening we are going to talk this is a very very niche and not broad topic so if you're not a gossip girl fan at all we totally understand this is kind of a just for us podcast and maybe it's just for you but we're going to talk with the recent cancellation and final season of generation 2 gossip girl we're just going to broadly talk about gossip girl i am a huge fan of this trash tv show from its original iteration and i vaguely could find some enjoyment sometimes in the second iteration that has just been canceled yeah i think the

second one was kind of starting to hit its stride we'll talk more about it we'll talk more about it but yeah tune in for that mostly we're going to talk about the second one but both of us do love the first one. I don't know it as well as you do. I've only been able to watch it once. So we are going to talk about that XOXO. Gossip Girl's Gone Canon. Now, the final thing we really have to announce is something that's going to start up in March.

And I mean, this one's really exciting. This one's a little magical, if you will. I know a lot of people are thinking we're going to announce the POV or something right now. We're not announcing the next POV for Ace Waff. We're not announcing that it's Arya Stark. I'm just kidding. Okay, so we're going to announce one thing, and then we're going to talk about the potential timing of another thing

that all of you know is happening eventually. In March, we are going to start covering the Sailor Moon Crystal anime in anticipation of the summer release of the final season slash movies of the Sailor Moon anime, Sailor Moon Cosmos, all of these being a reboot of kind of the original anime, but a more faithful adaptation of the manga. So obviously we all love the original.

Yeah, this is something I can't believe I'm even saying this out loud, but this is actually something you and I have been working toward doing for at least a year, year and a half. We kind of started dreaming this up during the pandemic levato uh i'm really excited to be a magical girl i think we have a couple cool guests in my suit this will be happening the last friday of the month starting in march so it's kind of funny because it starts with my birthday oh my god you're right it does yeah yeah and literally i think my birthday. Oh my god, you're right. It does. Yeah. Yeah. And literally, I think my birthday is like the Saturday. Yeah. Who knows? But we're kind of ending with your season too. We will be finishing up probably July, I think closer to Leo season to

lion season. And part of that has to do with so the Sailor Moon Cosmos movie, it releases like in early June, but it really drops final June 30th, right? Which I'm trying to remember. That actually might be Sailor Moon's birthday. I think that it's around that time. Because Sailor Moon, Usagi, is a Cancer. And Cancer's sign, Cancer's ruling planet, is the moon. Isn't that interesting?

Amazing. Isn't that interesting? It's beautiful. I love that. I'm excited about some of the guests that we are thinking of bringing on and like that we do already have planned. Just because, I mean, this is a passion project, I think think for you and me this is my first phantom absolutely we're announcing so many passion projects for you today and this is this is our new year's season update this season on girls gone canon this is what you can expect and to close it out i don't want to leave the hdm homies the his dark materials homies out to dry because i feel like they've been

out to dry you know they got off the canoe in la belle sauvage they got out of the canoe they rode all the way there and they got through the show they got through amber spyglass and now what is out there for our his dark materials homies the world wants to know the people are asking and i mean I think they're not asking me. We already know my answer to this question. So Eliana, what are the people asking? And what is the answer? The people are asking, when are you going to cover the secret commonwealth? Well, the answer is. Eliana breaks her silence. Coming to a theater near you this summer. Oh my God. Our reenactment. Yeah. Is happening. I am excited though. I am actually. There's some stuff I really, not that I don't like. It's just some stuff that sits on the negative spectrum of things with me but then there's some stuff that's like what the fuck just happened in this story that blows my mind so there's a little equal parts everything some parts uncomfortable some parts comfortable and

i'm excited to revisit it with that in mind and go slow through the entire story and really dissect it all and we will of course be telling you as we get closer our plan, you know, our plan for how we're going to attack it. We have, oh my God, it's what, January? We have till August to bring all that fun stuff to you. So there's lots more in the pipeline coming to you on The Secret Commonwealth by Philip Pullman. Yeah, and the exciting thing is either by end of this year

or sometime next year, right? It's not going to be that long of a wait for the third book. It sounds like Pullman's feeling really optimistic about the release date being soon. Absolutely. So you will hear maybe another announcement. So those are your things from us,
