Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to The Snack, a lighter serving of Girls' Got to Eat. This is a Dear Media production. Enjoy. Hi, guys. Hi, guys. End of the year. Last snack of the year. I'm looking forward to this.
Starting point is 00:00:16 To sink your teeth into. Yeah. So this is so fun because we used to do pop culture roundups, Raina's breakup recap of the year, all in like a regular Monday episode. And now we get to put it all in the snack. Jam packed snack. I'm excited. You know? It has.
Starting point is 00:00:33 Less breakups this year. Okay. It wasn't as a robust of a list this year. But one big one. Well, you know, we'll see. I can't wait to hear your list. I'm sure you got the biggest one. Because I had to keep it out of my list.
Starting point is 00:00:44 If your biggest one is not my biggest one, I don't know what I'm going to do. We like different stuff. I have two biggest ones this year. Okay. Did you put any personal acquaintance? Did you put any personal contacts on it? Personal contacts? No, I was trying to think if I don't even know if we have like a crazy breakup, like, of people we know.
Starting point is 00:01:03 No. Oh, because we had that year where, like, everybody knew broke out. Yeah. Did we have any crazy, like, I actually do think this is, like, one year where we, like, didn't have, like, crazy breakup from friends. People, like, got married and engaged. People stuck together this year. Yeah. That is crazy, actually. Right.
Starting point is 00:01:17 Seriously. Like, I really, I struggled. The breakups this year also worse. Messier. They're just messier. Okay. There's more lawsuits. I mean, there's just less breakups, but more horrible.
Starting point is 00:01:31 Okay. Less breakups. more lawsuits. I like that. Okay. We'll thank our partners will get right into this. Rocket Money. Starting point is 00:02:03 What do you want to do first? Okay, so a standard report. We have to start with a report. We're just going to do a Christmas movie report. I've been threatening to do a power ranking of our favorite Christmas movies that we'd already talked about. There's a great post on our Instagram of all the top 10 that we were anticipating for this season.
Starting point is 00:02:22 I've been trying to get through them all. I can't believe you did this. I haven't got through them all. Don't give me too much credit. Yes. I love what people have. By the way, say, like, with Christmas movie, it's like, the dialogue just isn't good. It's not supposed to be good.
Starting point is 00:02:36 Yeah. The plot lines aren't good. They're not supposed to be good. Yes. Every time I finished a Christmas movie, I have to read a book just to, like, counteract the stupidity. But like I said, there is a good post on our Instagram that's most of these. And I've been trying to see them all. Some I just couldn't do.
Starting point is 00:02:50 I'm like, I'm not doing it. Which ones didn't you do? So we'll get to it. Okay. So I did worst to best. I'm ranking these worst to best. As you should. Okay.
Starting point is 00:02:59 Worst is nutcrackers on Hulu. zero out of ten. That's the one with Ben Stiller. Why do you hate it? I really hated it. I felt like it was really slow. It's like these bad kids. I mean, they've lost their parents,
Starting point is 00:03:13 but they're like just bad. They like give me anxiety. There's this like messy house. And it just like Ben Stiller wasn't as funny. Like I don't know. He just, he doesn't do it for me like he used to and like meet the parents or something
Starting point is 00:03:26 and like dodgeball. I just, I think sometimes these movies get these big names. And they're not showing up to do good job either. Yeah. They're showing up for the paycheck. It had a nice ending.
Starting point is 00:03:35 It had a heartwarming ending. Not worth it. Zero out of ten. Okay. Hot Frosty. Okay. We all know hot frosty. Sexy Snowman.
Starting point is 00:03:44 Weeks ago at this point, I already talked about it. Four out of ten. Okay. Listen, I don't think any of these are going to be 12 out of ten. So I'm not like, oh my God. I can't.
Starting point is 00:03:51 It's like you didn't like, I don't know. Right. What's a good movie? Devil Worth Prada. So that's, so here's, while we're here, 10 out of 10 is home alone. Okay. Nine out of 10, family stone.
Starting point is 00:04:01 Family Stone. I mean, these are classics, like Love Actually. Like, these movies that come out every year are never going to touch those. I mean, maybe one day we'll get one. But you know what I'm saying? Like, that's the bar as a 10. It's funny you think you call, like, you lump Holiday Stone in there with it. Because I think, like, Holiday Stone. What did I say? Holiday Stone. Holiday Stone. He said twice. Yeah. Family Stone in there with like Love Actually. Because, like, I think of these is like there's movies to me. And then there's like holiday movies. Like Netflix holidays. They're not the same category. Yeah, you're right. I mean. I mean, they could be in a category all their own, but Home Alone was recently awarded the best Christmas movie of all time. Obviously, a hot take.
Starting point is 00:04:36 Okay. Meet me next Christmas. This was on Netflix. I talked about this one, Christina Millian, five out of ten. That was the one about in the Sky Club. Okay. Christmas in the spotlight. This is the Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey inspired one on Lifetime. I had to pay like $3 to rent that shit. I don't. You put it on our card? I bought it on like YouTube TV or whatever. I'm going to give it a six and a half out of ten. It wasn't too horrible. It was not like hallmark level cheesiness. Lifetime will show some tongue when they're kissing. Was there an original score? Okay, so here's the thing. Here's the craziest thing about it. She's saying Taylor Swift covered. First of all, it's crazy Taylor Swift coded. So there's all these Easter eggs. I really think the Swifties will appreciate it. The writer or director, whoever created the movie is like a huge Swifty and like put all these crazy Easter eggs that like I didn't even pick up on all them.
Starting point is 00:05:26 Obviously, I'm not like that huge of a Swifty. I'm going to link this article. There was a Today.com. article of like all of them. It was actually pretty cool to read after the fact. Some stuff about it was like a little weird, but obviously it was like very, not even loosely, heavily based on them. But the craziest thing about it was the guy that played Travis Kelsey, I literally thought it was Gronk. I was like, is this supposed to be Gronk? Travis Kelsey, I feel like is supposed to be kind of smooth. Yeah. Gronk is like the big dumb jock. They made him like big dumb idiot. But even he looked, I was like, is that gronk? how crazy would that be?
Starting point is 00:06:02 So they really like underplayed the Travis Kelsey of it all? He was supposed to be Travis Kelsey. He had the brother. He had the Jason with the family. I mean, it was they had the parents. Like it was, there was no podcast to speak of. And by the way, like the saddest part about it is like they don't have Netflix budget. So like the NFL games look like a high school stadium.
Starting point is 00:06:19 Like that part was pretty sad. And like her concerts looked really low budget. But it's okay. It's like Timu Travis. It's like. But I was like, is this a gronk biop? Biopic. It was really weird. But anyway, it was fine. Mary gentlemen, this was the strippers. Chad Michael Murray, we talked about it. I'm going to give it seven out of ten because I just thought that plot was so ridiculous in a good way. It was corny, but it wasn't like too terrible. I thought the casting of Chad Michael Murray was insane. So you appreciated the bravery of this.
Starting point is 00:06:53 It was so brave. And here's the thing about it, Raina. So it was so Gigi coded because, A, the strippers. B, main character named Ashley. C, and someone DM this and brought to my attention. The main character wants to fuck her contractor. No. They stole these ideas. Chad Michael Murray is the contractor.
Starting point is 00:07:11 They stole this stripper is a contractor? He's a contractor turned stripper, which is your dream. That is my dream. Okay. That was 7 out of 10. Our little secret, which you can jump in now. This was Lindsay Lohan. Oh, right.
Starting point is 00:07:25 I loved it. 7.5 out of 10, which is a strong rating. I like an ensemble cast. I like these, like everybody goes to the same house for Christmas and chaos ensues. I like that trope. I think it's fun. I mean, Lindsay Lohan's face is the talk of the town. I mean, it's also a pop culture moment.
Starting point is 00:07:43 Which, you know, her, like, surgeon is, like, coming out with, like, I'm the one. She's in Dubai. She's, like, posting with Lindsay, like, hey, everybody, I'm responsible. Yeah. Yeah. She's, like, pissing all over her territory. She's booked for years. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:57 She's busy and booked. I really enjoyed it. I thought it was so cute. I just, I watched it with my family over Thanksgiving. Loved it. Like Kristen Chenoweth is in it. John Ruditsky, who's like a really funny comedian. I've met him, been on shows with him in here. It was just, it was actually like funny and good enough writing. It wasn't like so corny. I don't think it was that corny. That's people's favorite of the season. I really liked it. Okay. And next, this is older, but I'm just going to throw it in here because everybody recommended it to me. And it's called Christmas with the Campbell's and you can watch it on Hulu. And this is, it has Brittany Snow and Justin Long and the guy from S&L, who I'm forgetting his name, but he's so funny. It's funny. It's laugh out loud, funny.
Starting point is 00:08:40 You'll recognize the mom who plays the mom. Like, it's super horny, super funny. So many people told me I should watch it for years and I finally did. And I'm going to give it eight out of ten. Oh, you brought an old movie back. You like to do that. But it was new to me. Okay.
Starting point is 00:08:53 I just have to talk about it because it was so horny. It's new to me. Okay. Yeah. And I've been recommending it to everybody. You know in the group chat. I feel like Rayna is probably like, Ashley, please shut the fuck about this movie. And then I don't think I'm going to do a Chief's love story.
Starting point is 00:09:05 I don't care. I hate the Chiefs. It's Hallmark. It's going to be too corny, not horny. Like, I'm not going to do it. I still want to do Style Me for Christmas, which is BT. And then Carry On, which is like the thriller on Netflix, I would like us to watch on Christmas. Okay.
Starting point is 00:09:19 Because what we're not going to watch on Christmas is Baby Girl. Because we have already seen it. So we went to the premiere. It was, first of all, it was a perfect length. I can't stop talking about it. It was under two hours. I was enthralled every moment. And I just want to say, we will get into this.
Starting point is 00:09:39 This is, it's a movie starting Nicole Kidman, and she's the boss of a company that's similar to, I guess, Amazon. And she has a sexual relationship with an intern. And there's a lot of themes of, like, power dynamics and kinks. And it was, I loved it so much. But you and I watched it. And the first thing you said to me was like, we can't. watch this with my mom because you had sold me that this was a Netflix dropping on Christmas movie. Did I make this up? I don't know. And you were like, did you not know about this? And I was like,
Starting point is 00:10:06 you said it to me. And I believed, yeah, if I said that, I was lying. This is a theater movie premiere. It's coming out in theater's Christmas Day. Crazy time to drop a movie this Kinky. But it's kind of like get everything you want this Christmas with this movie because she's getting everything she wants. And Raina, I can't imagine not seeing this in the theater because there's these moments when things start to heat up. Like, one in particular where, like, there was like a collective gasp from the audience. Like, I, you just sometimes forget how different it is to see a movie in the theater in a good way when you're all, especially a movie that's got like twists and turns and surprises like that. I said he was when we walked out. I was so thrilled that we saw it with like a big theater pool of people because like there was things I don't know if I would have laughed at. and then everybody starts laughing
Starting point is 00:10:54 and you're like, oh, this is supposed to be funny. Like, you brace the tension. It's a high tension type of movie. It's tense. And people are just like laughing and all these power dynamics. I mean, at one point, I'm not giving me anything. At one point he tells him go stand in the corner and face the wall.
Starting point is 00:11:07 And I busted out laughing with 300 people. It was hysterical. I just, yeah, I don't want to spoil it. But the first time he, like, says a seductive line, I was like, it's starting. It's starting. And I just have to tell you, this is not a spoiler. It opens with her having sex, having an orgasm.
Starting point is 00:11:30 But you'll see. And then the way it opens is like, I literally turned to rain. I was like, we were going to watch this with my family? As soon as I was watching that, it reminded me when I went to see Wolf of Wall Street, my dad, and it opens with him getting his dick sucked in the car. And it's just, it opens so sexy. And I was just like, I cannot believe we're going to watch it. In your living room.
Starting point is 00:11:47 So kinky. It's around sound with your dad in the house. Yes, my dad wouldn't have been watching it, but he would have passed through. it would have ruined my life. Listen, but see it as a family if you're that kind of family. It'll open up some conversations for sure. If your family vibe... It might get your mom to divorce your dad.
Starting point is 00:12:00 If it's erotic thrillers that your family likes. So yes, it's this erotic thriller. There's like so much chemistry. Again, there's these like humorous moments. The writer and director Helena Rain was at the premiere and then she... Some of the actors were there as well, including Nicole Kidman. So we were again at the premiere in L.A., they walked out. Nicole Kidman walked out.
Starting point is 00:12:18 She looked gorgeous. I mean, such a queen. She is just... I mean, she's everything. She's like a 2024 it girl, which we'll talk about the others this episode. But I just love to see it. And I just haven't seen a movie like that that I never once thought to check my phone. You know, I was enthralled the entire time.
Starting point is 00:12:36 Like you said, it was like a great length. Like I could have had more. And I saw this review that was like you rarely see a movie where you feel like the characters don't even know what they're going to do next. Like they don't even know what they're going to say next. Like, they're figuring out as they go along, and you'll see what we mean when you see it. But, oh my gosh. I mean, you were pretty horny after. I was so horny.
Starting point is 00:12:59 I had to immediately go home and start sexting. I was a night I went home and started sexting. I had to masturbate immediately. I mean, I was so turned on by this movie. There's so much tension. I love the whole power dynamics of it. I mean, you guys are going to love it. Don't see it with your family.
Starting point is 00:13:15 So Nicole Kimman, Harris Dickinson, who was the actor who plays the intern. Antonio Banderas, which I didn't see coming. I didn't see it coming. I had no idea. Just so you guys know, still the hottest piece out there. Holy shit. He's really your type. I mean, how old is he?
Starting point is 00:13:30 I got to look it up. Antonio Banderas, how old is he is so sexy. He's 64 years old. Damn. He is so hot, you guys. Wow. He's getting hotter with age. I can't even wait to see him at 75.
Starting point is 00:13:41 Like, I don't know that I'd see it with somebody who is not sexually satisfying you unless you're trying to send him a message. Oh, like if you have a bad sex life with your person. partner. But what if you, should you see it with your co-worker that you want to fuck? If you want to have sex with a person, go see this movie with them. Ashley and I had sex after. If you want to explore with them, because it could be intimidating to some people. If you took someone to this movie and you walked out and you were like, hey, so I want to do all that, I think they'd be like, I don't know if we're a match. Okay, but if you are, if you are looking to fuck, this is the movie for you this Christmas.
Starting point is 00:14:20 Oh, and like, again, really don't want to give anything away, but I really like the way they wrapped it up at the end. I mean, I found it to be absolutely perfect. We just sat there afterwards, like the whole theater and were like that was it. It's a movie that really makes you think. Yes. Okay. Well, we'll move on, but you guys, check it out.
Starting point is 00:14:36 We really can't recommend it enough baby girl dropping Christmas. Yeah, this Christmas get exactly what you want. See Baby Girl is in theaters starting, yeah, on Christmas Day. And I am just going to tell you guys about quince, and then we were going to get right back into it with Raina's breakup list. I was on the street last night walking home from dinner with her girlfriend talking about quince. I'm never not talking about quince. Oh, I think I'm wearing quince. Probably.
Starting point is 00:14:59 Probably. Is that this sweater? I'm always wearing quince. Yeah. She was like, I have the body suits. And she was like, I'm unsure about the nits. I was like, you've got to get the cashmere sweater. And then I was like, listen, I have it in a small, but I really think you should do like an extra small or medium, like a little tighter or a little oversized.
Starting point is 00:15:12 Like we were just having this whole conversation. Everybody is getting on this. And if you guys aren't, you are missing out. because it really is luxury at affordable prices. I talked about this. I talked about this in a podcast, or maybe I just told you, but that like cashmere hoodie from another place that will remain nameless, that was so expensive for no reason. I look at it all the time.
Starting point is 00:15:29 I don't even like it. Someone messaged me. I need the link to that. I'm like, you know, you don't need it. Shop quints instead. Get cashmere at like affordable prices. It's not going to ruin your life. Reasonable prices, yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:41 So amazing gifts. I mean, if you still are looking for last minute gifts, get these for yourself or someone else. I mean, again, we just love all of their essential basics. I mean, they have an incredible cashmere, incredible washable silk, skirts, sweaters, slacks, jackets, whatever you guys want. And then there's 14 carckel jewelry. The handbags, Raina bought a handbag recently. Whatever you're looking for, Quinn's items are priced 50 to 80 percent less in similar brands. They are able to do that because they partner directly with top factories and cut out the cost of the middleman. I mean, it really is one of those things where you see the prices and you're like,
Starting point is 00:16:14 what is this quality going to be? And it is top notch. Absolutely. They only work with factories that use safe, ethical, and responsible manufacturing practices. We love that. Premium fabrics and finishes for that luxury feel. And we're just obsessed. I mean, really, right now, I'm going to just recommend the cashmere above everything else. But I really love their jackets. I mean, they have your everyday casual jackets, like, you know, longer ones.
Starting point is 00:16:34 And I'm just like a big coat person. So I think get on there too. And incredible gifts, great men stuff. I mean, if you're a man can't dress, that's it. That's all you need. No excuses, honestly. If you can't dress or someone your life can't dress and you're not introduced in the quince, that's on you. You know, so you can gift luxury this holiday season without the luxury price tag.
Starting point is 00:16:55 Go to quince.com slash gge for 365 day returns plus free shipping on your order. That's QINCE.com slash gge to get free shipping and 365 day returns. Quince.com slash gge. Okay. Let's hear it. So we're going to do breakups and then pop culture. They're probably, they're usually a. some crossover. I don't know. Like, we'll see. But like I said, I wasn't working with as much
Starting point is 00:17:22 this year, which we love to see. So I broke it out into a couple different categories. Okay. I'm going to start with least, least I care about to the most I care about. Okay. So my first category is stuff I don't really care about, but it did happen. I don't know that much to say about it. Those people probably care. Yeah. Okay. Starting with Rachel Zoe and Roger Berman. What? Yeah. Wait, some of these are going to be surprises for me. Yeah. Yeah. So Rachel Zell getting divorced. I liked them. So you care.
Starting point is 00:17:52 Okay. I care a little bit. They had a bunch of seasons of an E reality show. Yes. I used to watch that show sometimes. Me too. Okay. So you care.
Starting point is 00:18:00 Landon Barker and Charlie DeMillo. Oh, they're like kids. Does not care. Kids broke up. Who cares? Cheney Tatum and Zoe Kravitz. That's, I care a lot. Okay.
Starting point is 00:18:10 Devastated. I've gone on record. That's my favorite celebrity couple. Okay. Of all time. Ashley cares. Yeah. Wow.
Starting point is 00:18:18 No, that one was crazy. I was so upset. You look upset. It's honestly. Yeah. This is insulting to me. You didn't give me a trigger warning. It just, I don't much to say about it, but it happened.
Starting point is 00:18:33 Sasha Baron Cohen and Olive Fisher, not much to say about it, but it did happen. What I don't know about a lot of these? And then Jason Tardick and Kat. Okay. We were into that one. Yeah. Okay. As someone we know.
Starting point is 00:18:46 Bravo breakups. I listed it. from least interesting to most interesting to both of us. Okay. Teddy Mellencamp and her husband, Edwin, broke up. I know you don't even know those people are. She's the daughter of John Mellencamp. Teddy is the girl.
Starting point is 00:18:59 Teddy's the girl. Doreate and P.K. got divorced. Which, there's been whispers of this for years. Jacks Taylor and Brittany Carr-Rite opened the year off with it, and they were on the valley, and people thought this was a publicity stunt, and he's been so horrible to her publicly for so many years, and you just thought, like, that's their vibe. I love to see that she walked away. Well, speaking of Jacks.
Starting point is 00:19:24 What? We can say this. What do we care? We just got pitched to have him on. No, thank you. By his publicist, there was some tea about her. Thank you. We're just going to say it.
Starting point is 00:19:37 No, thank you here. Yeah, you don't guys, that's not someone we want to plot for. Unsure if they're breaking up or just taking some time. But James Kennedy and Allie, his girlfriend, some news about them this week. We saw photos of them with him carrying stuff to her car. And then finally, breaking news last night, it like happens and then it was rescinded. And it's just some gossip and tea. Tom Sandoval and his newer girlfriend, Victoria Lee Robinson, she posted last night on her Instagram story.
Starting point is 00:20:04 I'm going to read you guys the post. I didn't even know he, like, had a girlfriend or like who it is. Is this his girlfriend since Ariana? So since Ariana, since Ariana, since they broke up, he got a new girlfriend. She's a model. She's so beautiful. They recently moved in together. She is brave to stand by his side to begin with, you know, to publicly date Tom Sandoval.
Starting point is 00:20:25 She is brave. So she posts on her Instagram story last night. Wow, you guys were right. Tiger never changes its stripes. He loves the best friends apparently. I feel like a fool. I'm completely heartbroken. Oh.
Starting point is 00:20:36 So she really publicly is like, like, he loves the best friends, apparently. So this is a callback to like him sleeping with Arianna's best friend. So she's essentially saying he's slept with my friend. Also. That is really. Hot tea. So, also, can I just... Tiger never changes the stripes.
Starting point is 00:20:52 Does she mean a leopard doesn't change its spots? Well, couldn't she just say it about whatever animal? Like, can we pull the room? Or was she just trying to rhyme stripes with right? Oh, she was like, spitting bars. I was rhyming. She's like, I got this. Watch this.
Starting point is 00:21:07 I thought I've heard tiger stripes. A tiger doesn't change its stripes. Okay. Means that someone's essential nature can't be changed. I know what it means. But the leopard can't change its spots also. Okay, interchangeable. Either or.
Starting point is 00:21:18 Okay. So. We should go harder on these. You know a flamingo, it'll always be pink. Okay. But he, okay, so she posts this very publicly black background, white writing, Instagram story. Love it.
Starting point is 00:21:35 You love to see it. As dramatic as can be hours later. No. I would like to sincerely apologize. Stop. You're just not telling me this? So she, she posts the first one. and then he gets on his Instagram story live.
Starting point is 00:21:51 And he's like, she's going to be sorry for this. This is what to happen. And he's like, oh, Victoria's calling me right now. Wait, what? Why did you tell me to get on that live? I wanted to tell us to you. Like it's COVID. He took it down by the time I got back.
Starting point is 00:22:05 I got to it. Okay. So then hours later, she posts. I would like to sincerely apologize for my previous post. I had a true misjudgment in a situation. Tom did not do anything. From my own personal trauma and experience, hearing false accusations about him all the time. Clouded my judgment. It got the best
Starting point is 00:22:23 to me. Please respect him and know he's actually been the most supportive partner. The internet can be harsh sometimes. And I'm learning how to block out the noise. You're the noise. Right. It's getting harsh. You posted this on the other end of it. Yeah. It's giving hush money. So is she a famous, is she an influencer or like just a regular person? She's an L.A. model. Okay. Allegedly dated Leonardo DiCaprio at one point. She is one of the most beautiful people I've ever seen. How old is she? It's a very. such wild behavior if you've been kind of in the industry in any way to post that on Instagram.
Starting point is 00:22:55 Like, you know, that should be in the group chat until it's proven. She's 32. Okay. Feels like the behavior of a 19-year-old. Yeah. I mean, listen, I love it. I love people being this messy. My favorite thing is when I see something and I go, it couldn't be me.
Starting point is 00:23:08 But thank God. It was someone else. So are they together? They're broken up. I don't know. This was a developing story last night. But they had bought a half. They moved in together.
Starting point is 00:23:18 Wait, hold on. When did this happen? Yesterday. Yesterday. Okay. As we're recording yesterday, so Monday, this had happened. They'll probably stay together. I don't know. Where is he going to go? God, I like want to know. He loves the best friends that is so specific. I mean, she's basically saying he fucked my friend. Yeah. And then like, what did he? What happened in this time frame that she was like, I'm going to publicly out him for sleeping with my friend. And then how did he prove that that didn't happen? I don't know. I mean, he's just like a shitty guy that was able to stay.
Starting point is 00:23:48 a relationship for 10 years and he's probably good at like apologizing, groveling, deflecting, lying, gaslighting, all the things. So he probably just did that combo. A little one-two punch and she was like, oopsie. No offense to her, but like if you are willing to be in a serious relationship with Tom Sandoval, you have a, you're a little different. Yeah. You know? She's like, guys, just a tiger does change its stripes sometimes. I don't want to walk that back. Okay. Okay. Okay. Last of the reality TV, selling sunset breakups.
Starting point is 00:24:21 Jeff and Chelsea? Right. Okay. God, I forgot that happened. Yeah. He had an affair. It was very public on the show. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:28 And then Christine Quinn and her husband, Christian Richards, bad breakup. Domestic violence. Police were called. There's a lot of that on my list, like a lot of crazy shit. Didn't see that coming breakups. Okay. Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox. Right.
Starting point is 00:24:42 Especially, what, two weeks post pregnancy announcement. I mean, they went big on the pregnancy announcement. And then broke up. But they're always, like, breaking up. I mean, they're just really volatile. Yes. I don't know. I've been, like, reading some of the comments on that.
Starting point is 00:24:55 Oh, because Brian Austin Green, her ex-husband, came out and, like, basically showed support for her and was like she doesn't deserve this. The narrative just feels like they're both probably at fault for being in this, like, toxic, volatile relationship. But it sounds like he's just, you know, he's got a lot of shit. He's, like, got a lot of trauma. And maybe she has always wanted to, like, fix him. I mean, what do I know? But something deep is going on there to get pregnant and then break up two weeks later. When we heard they broke up, I was like, well, they break up all the time.
Starting point is 00:25:27 Like they just seem to be like one of those couples. And so, I mean, I have faith that they'll like figure it out. Yeah. I don't know. Okay. Other one I did not see coming. Cardi being offset. Oh, did I even know that?
Starting point is 00:25:38 But don't they break up a lot? So on August 1st, she filed for divorce from Austin. Okay. Asking for primary custody of their kids, that same day, Cardi confirmed she was pregnant with their third baby. The drama. And last I didn't see that coming, but huge breakup of the year, Brianna Chicken Fried, Zach Bryan. They seem so lovey online and happy.
Starting point is 00:25:58 And then, you know, she dropped his bomb. It's been the most talked about breakup ever. Now she's broken up with her co-host. That's T. Oh, yeah. You got to fill me in on that. I just have been busy. And I have like stuff saved to watch.
Starting point is 00:26:11 Like literally, I have like real saved, but I just haven't gotten into it. I need like a TLDR on that. She, I think the internet was always kind of split. I'm Brianna Chicken Fry one way the other. And I think that, you know, there was a huge wave of support for her when this happened was Zach Bryan and people were really impressed by her and her bravery to not take that money and be very public about abuse. And there was a huge swing towards her positively that people really liked her.
Starting point is 00:26:35 And then I think she kind of destroyed it all by coming out against Grace O'Malley and talking about the ending of their podcast and that she said they couldn't continue the friendship. Therefore they couldn't continue the podcast. And people are taking Grace O'Malley's side. Grace Mallet posted a series of Instagram stories talking about it happened. Is it too long?
Starting point is 00:26:54 You wouldn't tell me offline? It's long. Okay. Yeah, I'll tell you a little offline. It's like the general theme. I don't think that they're really, I don't think they're really friends anymore. I think that the Zach Bryan relationship in general
Starting point is 00:27:05 kind of destroyed their friendship. I think that it's too damaged to move forward. And I don't think that she thought that Grace O'Malley was going to go so public with the Instagram stories. Are they still up? They're on the internet. Okay. Trying to read them?
Starting point is 00:27:18 All right, I got to get into this. We got to go. And then my biggest of the year, my two biggest, J-Lo and Ben. Yep. Just. Benefer. You know, I could have seen it coming because if you watch their documentary together, you should have maybe seen this coming.
Starting point is 00:27:34 But I was like he knows her and she knows him. And like there's no new information. If you watch the documentary, she does seem a little self-involved. Yeah, you watch the documentary and you're like, yeah, this seems. a little whack that she's like, wants to kind of make their love letters public and do all this. But he seemed like, yes, that's, you know, she's, J-Lo's going to J-Lo. Like, that's the woman I know and love. I've known her for, I mean, decades.
Starting point is 00:28:03 I don't know. I don't really know what changed. I mean, the whole theme of that was like she wanted to make their love public and he's on the documentary saying, like, I don't really want this to happen. And she's basically like, I'm a do me. But, like, he knew who he was marrying. For it to implode so quickly, shocked me. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:17 And like, I don't know what went down. And I don't want to be this like Ben apologist. We don't know him either. I mean, you know, we see so many paparazzi photos where he looks miserable and it's become such a joke. But we've also seen ones where he looks like he's like he's like he's like he's like he's like he's probably pretty toxic. And I certainly don't have a side. We just don't know what goes on. I have no side. I'm with you. Yeah. 100% of right. Who knows? Who knows? Like we joke that he's like an asshole and like a funny Boston guy way. But like what if he just is a real asshole? And you know, like I just always. You know, my nature is aside with the woman, but this was the year. A lot of people were out on J-Lo this year. Like the documentaries, they were just so self-serving. I think a lot of people were like, ugh. Yeah. You know. But like, that was another breakup, the public's breakup with J-Lo.
Starting point is 00:29:03 Yeah. Well, it's hard to say, like, you know, I think people really try to get photos of him looking like that and yelling. It's a thing. But like, are other people like that all the time, too? And it's just not a thing. Yeah. Who knows?
Starting point is 00:29:16 Like, you could catch me every day. the stink face. Right, exactly. At 365, I have a stink face at some point in the day. Right. My other biggest breakup of the year is Kristen Cavalieri and Marquez does. I hated to see it happen. I loved watching it. I was really, I was rooting for this kid and this lady. Yeah, that broke my heart. I was here for it. And that'll obviously, we'll talk about it a little bit more. But that's my breakup list of the year. Nothing so crazy, so shocking, so terrible. I mean, it's a short list this year. RFK and Larry David's wife from Kerb did they break?
Starting point is 00:29:51 No, they're still married. Cheryl, Cheryl Hines. Wait, you think they've separated? Oh, I don't know. He had like a scandal. Like he was like sexting. Yeah, but they're still. They are.
Starting point is 00:30:01 They're working through it. Headlines say Cheryl Hines' friends are concerned. Okay, so they're still together. Still together. Stay tuned for 2025. Okay. This show is sponsored by BetterHelp. So holidays are coming up.

Starting point is 00:31:19 Okay, Raina, question for you. How would you feel if you lost your libido? My sex drive. Is that like a serious question? I'd never recover. I know, right? Well, the fact is millions of premenopausal women are frustrated because they lost their libido.
Starting point is 00:31:32 But we are here to let you know that there's a treatment called Adi that is clinically proven to boost libido in certain pre-menopausal women. And this isn't some sketchy gas station pill. It's FDA approved. Talk to your doctor to see if Adi is right for you. And again, it is clinically proven. I love the women have this option. Same.

See full P-I and medication guide, including boxed warning at adi.com or call 844 pink pill. Addie. That is A-D-D-D-Y.com. Okay. Pop Culture list. Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 00:33:06 Okay. This is my favorite holiday tradition. The top 24 pop culture moments. of 2024. I can't believe you did 24. It was so easy. Was it? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:15 This year was crazy. And some months were just so heavy. Okay. So I'm going to do it chronologically. I'm going to just recap the year. Let's remember 2024. And June 2 per month? I did for month.
Starting point is 00:33:30 No, two per month. There was some. Oh, there was no way to do that. No, because we have like one thing in November. Okay. And like 10 in June, you know? Okay. So, not in January.
Starting point is 00:33:41 Nothing happened in January. Nothing ever happens in January. Exactly. I think everybody just takes the month off. Exactly. Didn't make my list. No one was messy enough. Okay, February with the Super Bowl.
Starting point is 00:33:50 The highlight of the Super Bowl for me was Travis Kelsey giving everyone the ick at the end with Viva, Las Vegas. We watched Taylor Swift get the ick in real time. We'll play the audio. And that was my moment. Of all the things that happened, obviously I didn't care about the win. Usher was great, half-time, of course. You had a great party, but that was my favorite part of it. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:34:23 That made my jaw drop. Okay. I'm still getting icked, like un-acted. Yeah. Okay. Okay. That was very gronk of him. In that moment, that's probably when they found the inspo for that movie.
Starting point is 00:34:33 February, March, Kristen Cavaleri, and the hard launch of the Montana Boys. Obviously, they existed, but we didn't know until we knew. Are they still exist now? Yes. They're out there. Are they, like, doing it? Okay. So, yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:48 So if you guys, of course, if you listen to this podcast, you know that Kristen Caballari, like Raina said, started dating this young influencer and he had his little lip singing group, the Montana boys, and that put him on the map. And we loved every moment. And also in February, love is blind season six, which I do feel like one of the biggest moments of the year was Chelsea's comparison to Megan Fox. I mean, who would have thought on a dating show that would be the biggest story? And, you know, I think she has handled it like a queen, but she got a lot of. backlash, but I feel like of all the love is blind moments of the year, which we had season six and season seven and the UK, like that was kind of the biggest pop culture moment. Listen, I'm not a Chelsea apologist, but I do think that some people in her life had said
Starting point is 00:35:32 you resemble Megan Fox. I 100% agree. I just, there's people that people have told me I looked like that I would look like I had an egg on my face when I announced it on national television. Right. Okay. March, Beyonce dropped Cowboy Carter, and we all entered our Cowgirl era. Big Cowgirl year?
Starting point is 00:35:52 Yes, big Cowgirl year. April, the Kendrick and Drake beef reignited. You know, they've always had some beef, but that's when it really ramped back up. And then in May, we got Not Like Us, which was one of the most popular songs of the year. And then Drake dropped Family Matters, which I love Family Matters. And, you know, just an aside that I did puke at the Drake concert in February. I forgot that that happened. Puked a drink.
Starting point is 00:36:15 Okay. Yeah. But still rallied and still enjoyed the concert. Okay. May, the Tom Brady roast, which was huge in terms of like a live roast. It catapulted in Nikki Glazer's fame. I mean, that's my favorite thing to come out of it. You know, like she clearly won that roast and she's more famous than ever and we love to see it.
Starting point is 00:36:31 That really, I went on a date with somebody that told me they hadn't seen it. And I have never been so turned off by somebody. How did you avoid this? Yes. It was the biggest cultural moment of the month. Right. of the month. June, Brat Summer begins. Thanks to Charlie X-E-X. Brat Summer is such a movement. Also, June, June was crazy. Also, by the way, June is when we started the snack.
Starting point is 00:36:54 Do you think everybody stepped it up for us? Yes, that's how I feel. So June most watched WNBA season ever, and I feel like Caitlin Clark became a household name. So I really feel like it was a big time for the WMBA in women's sports, of course. June also, Justin Tim were like, DUIRS. This is going to ruin the tour. This is going to ruin the tour. June was also Hocktua. Oh my God. June really gave it. This is not one of my 24, if you guys are counting.
Starting point is 00:37:22 But while we're here, June was also Travis Kelsey and Taylor Swift, which we've talked about at length. But that was when you saw the concert. Yeah. Okay. And then June was Chapel Rhone blew up. Okay. Yeah. That's when I feel like she did.
Starting point is 00:37:36 I know people were like such fans before that, but that was like the Gov ball. And I feel like that was like, I think of her. Okay. July. we have the horniest Olympics in history. Unbelievable. We have Big Dick Pol Walter, Pommel horse guy. Just nothing's ever been hornier.
Starting point is 00:37:51 Snoop and Martha. The gymnast was just wiggling around on the floor. Everything was horny about it. July also was Biden stepped down and Kamala stepped in and just re-energized voters. And that was like such a special moment. Obviously we know how it all ended. And that is not going to be on my list because it's best moments. But I really loved that time in history in the year.
Starting point is 00:38:10 August, we have it ends with us. The movie, the drama, the crazy press tour, all of it, picking sides, Blake lively, Justin Baldoni. We've changed our stance a little. We got some realty. I mean, who's to say? We reserve the right to waffle on this show. Yeah. You know?
Starting point is 00:38:27 Okay. Then August also was Demir. Okay. Demir dropped in August. Jules LeBron. Yes, cutesy, mindful. August was demure and it's still going. People are still saying it.
Starting point is 00:38:39 End of August. I got engaged. The big pop. Big polyculture moment. Men everywhere shed a tear. I'm off the market. September, Taylor Swift and Doris Kamala, huge. I was sitting on the toilet and I remember.
Starting point is 00:38:53 September also, the long overdue downfall of Diddy. Baby oil gate. And every day since. Lube gate, yeah. September also. Wait, do you know what made me think? So I was packing on my house with like the, with the flat rate people. And they had to go into our studio.
Starting point is 00:39:10 Actually, it was like dozens and dozens of bottles. Loub in our studio. I had to, like, explain it to them before they went in there. I was like, before you go into this room in this garage, there's a wall of dildos and loom. I own a sex to a company. FBI shows up. Okay, September also, Sabrina Carpenter's tour started.
Starting point is 00:39:30 So I do feel like this was such a Sabrina Carpenter year, and that's just the date I chose to represent her whole year. Was when her tour started in September. September also, Lana Delray, Mary's Alligator Guy. October, Moudang comes on the scene. Moodang was born on July 10th. She's a cancer queen. You thought that she was going to have 15 minutes of fame, but she's milking it.
Starting point is 00:39:53 Every day, there's more stuff. This is the one I can't believe the most, the longevity of it. I want to hear more about alligator guy. No offense to Moodang. No, to Moutang, like, it is December. She's still going strong. Okay. October also, I feel like, is when the lookalike contest took her.
Starting point is 00:40:10 off. Okay. What was the first one? Timothy Chalameh one was like the big one because he showed up, but obviously we've had like Glenn Powell. I still need to find the Jalen Hertz results because that was this past weekend. But, you know, we've had so many different ones. Jeremy Allen White.
Starting point is 00:40:23 Jeremy Allen White. Was the Luigi one real? People did go and dress like Luigi, Mangione. His merch is taken off. People are getting that backpack. No, it's crazy. I saw this reel that was like our assassins, the new influencers. I was like, oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:40:39 No. Okay, November, Raina bought a house. Oh, thank you. Other stuff happened, but this is the best list. So the best thing happened in November, nothing else, is that Raina bought a house. And then December, I mean, it just has to be Luigi Mangione. I mean, it was the biggest story. It's like so memeable.
Starting point is 00:40:58 Like, we posted a clip last week, though, went crazy, you know. So whatever your thoughts on it, you can't deny, that, like, it's been big in pop culture. Huge in pop culture. I'm not saying, like, the best thing that happened was, like, like a shooting, but like the pop culture-wise, it's been a story you want to follow. Totally. Yeah. Do you that people were DMing us at S&L store all our joke?
Starting point is 00:41:19 Did you get this? No. No. I've been like really behind my DM. Last week we were talking about how like he hates big, Luigi, he hated big corporations, but he went to like Starbucks McDonald's that day. That's your joke. And S&L like did a bit and talked about that.
Starting point is 00:41:32 I still are joke. You ripped you off. Yeah. Okay. So that's my wrap up of the year. I love it. This is my favorite. This is my favorite every single year.
Starting point is 00:41:40 It's my favorite thing. This is why we launched this episode. But then I want to do an It Girl of the Year. You have your own separate list for this. I just have three. I just want you to vote. The It Girl of the Year award, Sabrina Carpenter, Moodang, or Martha Stewart. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:41:58 Martha Stewart. I did not know you're going to hit me with that. I don't care about Moodang as much as you do. Yeah, yeah, that's fine. She's out for me. Yeah. How do you choose? I don't know because you know how you're just.
Starting point is 00:42:09 I love Sabrina Carpenter. You got in the car last night and I was like, I'm trying to find the Sabrina Carpenter outfit. Like I just, I love her so much. But like, I think that, okay, I think we do Sabrina for the year because it's her year. She's it girl of the year. Martha's had many, many years where she's it girl of the year. Best comeback is Martha. Yes.
Starting point is 00:42:26 But Sabrina really, this year was so horny. I can't stop talking about it. Like the horny Olympics, the horny holiday movies, like the horny Santa. Her Christmas special is horny. That's what I'm saying. And so also all her tour stuff, like the innuendos, the miming the blowjob, not even innuenos, just blatant. The outfits. The sexiness.
Starting point is 00:42:46 Yes. Yes. The sexiness. Like she does lingerie. We did lingerie on our tour. You know, I really do feel like she has defined the year in that way. I think she's such a little badass. I love her.
Starting point is 00:42:57 She wrote a song that basically says, like, I hope my pussy tastes good. Yeah. Like, it's, she's like a rapper. I love. She wrote a song that's like, how's my dick taste? Like How's my dick taste, damn That reminds me
Starting point is 00:43:12 To tell me lies Which the tell me lies finale is an honorable mention Damn it I forgot about There's too much There was too much There was good pop culture For us this year
Starting point is 00:43:19 So I give her the year I give Martha Sturge's had many years But unbelievable comeback And we kind of forgot about her for a little bit Yeah Okay and we're gonna end with a surprise segment And this was Tess's idea Tess is not here with us right now
Starting point is 00:43:33 She is already in Boston Because we're heading there This weekend for the shows You guys can still grab tickets probably to the Friday late show. But she's in here within the studio, so we're going to read it on her behalf. But it is the worst men of the year. Ten worst men of the year list.
Starting point is 00:43:46 Tessa was like, I'll write this in one second. And she literally, her only follow question was how many can I include? We were like, let it fly. Yeah. I was like, 10's good. Yeah. Whatever you need. Because it could be endless.
Starting point is 00:43:57 She got to 12. Oh, she did 12. Okay. Do you want to read it? She had a 13th, but we can't say it out loud because it's somebody I personally know and hate. Who was me to me? Okay, number 12, Sam McKinney, The Bachelor, Season 21. So Sam from The Bachelorette.
Starting point is 00:44:13 Why was he so bad? Well, this is Tessa's list. Okay. You know, so she knows. Okay. We trust in Tessa. Okay. Number 11.
Starting point is 00:44:21 This is really surprised us. Matt Rife. No explanation. She didn't put explanations. She's like, that's just how I feel. Tess's list. Yeah. Number 10, Justin Timberlake.
Starting point is 00:44:32 Number nine, Scotty, the ultimatum season three. As like current, like also a show we recommend I'm watching it. Scotty, yes, like walking redfly. He's tough to watch. Yes. Okay. Number eight, RFK. I love this list.
Starting point is 00:44:45 Number seven, Ramses. Love is Blind, Stephen Seven. Ramses and this is too tanning. Yeah, I love that Ramses is on here. Number six, Jacks Taylor, the Valley. Honorable mention, honestly, so many men of Bravo. Just terrible. Tom Sandable, James Kennedy.
Starting point is 00:45:02 Honestly, the whole cast of Southern Charm. for Craig? Yeah. So number five, Jeremy, Love His Blind Seave in Six. I like that pick. Really strong pick.
Starting point is 00:45:12 Jeremy with an A. I mean, that guy would have gotten more hate if Chelsea hadn't called herself Megan Fox. Totally. Number four, Zach Bryan.
Starting point is 00:45:20 Self-explanatory. Number three. Elon Musk. Also self-explanatory. Number two. P. Diddy. Oh. Number one, Donald Trump.
Starting point is 00:45:27 Easy number one. Yeah. Yeah. Go off, Tessa. So this is Tessa's list. Is that right? She said, we were,
Starting point is 00:45:35 texting with her. She's like, I think I got a good variety in there. Yeah, I love it. Tessa is so savage because she just also said, if you read it and Jax makes the list, should we just send that clip to his PR person as the response? No, we're actually all set, but we did talk about him this week a couple times. If you'd like to just hear our thoughts on him, you can listen to this episode. Two different points of it. That's so funny to be like, we're all set. We talked about him this week, actually. We promoted him. Raina said that she was glad his wife left him. Oh, my gosh. All right. Well, Well, that really wraps up 2024.
Starting point is 00:46:17 Yeah. It was a good year. And I'm proud to have started this episode specifically to have just done this. We said we were going to do it. We'll talk next week about our goals for 2024 and what we accomplished. But this is one thing we accomplished. We started the snack. It's something we wanted to do for a really long time.
Starting point is 00:46:30 We talked about pop culture and just joke about light, funny things that are happening in the world. And I'm proud of this show, this episode of this show. Yes. Thank you guys for embracing it and loving it and all the positive comments. We love reading them on YouTube. and we were really just happy it took off. And, you know, as we were the months leading up to it, things would happen. And we were like, oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:46:50 Like, we were, like, upset. We didn't have it yet, you know, to really deep dive on some of these things. But then the fact that we started in June, and that really was one of the strongest months of the whole year, pop culture-wise. Kind of picked it better. We just, we really appreciate you guys. And thanks for listening. And like Raina said, Monday will be an episode that talks more about the year in terms of, like,
Starting point is 00:47:08 our personal lives and goals and things like that. But this was the Pop Culture Roundup for 2024. Four. What a year. We can't wait to see what happens in 2025. What shit talk it brings. Yeah. So you guys can find us at Girls Gotta Eat.com. And like I said, we do have shows this weekend in Boston. We still have a few tickets left for the Friday late show.
