Starting point is 00:00:02 This week on the snack, mics off at the White House, bestiality and an ice coffee debate. This is a Dear Media production. Enjoy. Hi, guys. Hi, guys. Look at us. We are here. We're doing it.
Starting point is 00:00:19 Do I look weird with a jacket on? I meant to ask you before we started recording. Do I look weird with these pajamas, these children's pajamas? I thought this was the cutest set, and I feel like I'm a kid on Christmas morning. Be honest. It's the color. It's just too light. It looks like a...
Starting point is 00:00:35 No, listen, I was so excited about this, and I just wanted to be cozy today. And I was like, I don't feel appropriate on the streets of New York. Like, I don't know. I used to live here and run around and, like, work out clothes. And it's a little, LA comfy. It's too light. This in black is not an issue. Listen, I will pretty much, you can wear anything on the streets and I would never shame you.
Starting point is 00:00:56 Like, I think fashion is just whatever you want it to be. There's like no rules anymore. Totally. That's a little, we should keep it in the house. Yeah, I don't know. I mean, it's for the streets. It's not pajamas. I love the top.
Starting point is 00:01:09 Yeah, you look great. But I wore the top with like a black legging and that felt a little different than these gray pants. It's the pants. They're too smooth. I need like a rib on them or I need them to be looser or I need them to be tighter. Like I need them. I just, I feel like I'm going to see your whole vagina line. But why wouldn't I see that in a leg?
Starting point is 00:01:28 My lower half, these are not meant for it. You know what I have front? In the back. I brought jeans for lunch. You know what I? What? Because I was like, I just don't know what like we're, I don't know if you're going, but I'm meeting Bobby for lunch. Where you're going to lunch?
Starting point is 00:01:40 I don't know. Wow. So I was like, are we getting like fast casual or are we going to, I don't know, go to the Smith. And I don't want to. I just need to wear a gene. Yeah. But to answer your question. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:50 You know what I like about this conversation is that I asked you a question about me and you're like, what I'm going to do is talk about me. And that's very me coding. I'm channeling you. Yeah. Always bring it back to you in the most serious of moments. Yeah, I like that jacket. Okay. I think you're going to get a little hot in here under these lights.
Starting point is 00:02:03 a t-shirt on while you guys are watching. Who knows? Who's to say? All right. Well, we'll thank our partners and we'll get right into it. Thank you to Hinge. Okay, guys, we are going to kick it off with an animal report, and it may not be what you think. I saw this headline come through. I literally, like, could not wait to talk about this. I am so excited. So Cash Patel, the crosshead director of the FBI, has basically, up until now, beastiality and basically sleeping with animals, wasn't automatic...
Starting point is 00:03:11 Sleeping with, not you making it sound intimate. Fucking animals. Making love to animals. I was an automatic disqualifier to being in the FBI. And he is now petitioned to lift that ban. Yes. So he had a testimony in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee last Tuesday that, and he said that the new rules were put into place because, quote, we did not want to punish victims of
Starting point is 00:03:37 beastiality, victims who were trafficked. Can I just say, we all know this administration does not give a flying fuck about victims of trafficking. The number one trafficker is the president. If you guys cared, you would do something about the abusers in the Epstein files, including the president. Just say you want to fuck a goat. Just say you want to fuck animals. Like, this is totally insane. So the whole thing is like they added this in or they removed it. Bottom line is like you could have just left it. And then he's in this hearing, which is the most insane back and forth you've ever seen with this old Republican senator. So the transcript is available.
Starting point is 00:04:15 And it is honestly, it's insane. I truly could not believe what I was reading. So he says what Ashley said. And then Republican Senator John Kennedy says, why would you even get into bestiality? And Patel responds, we are not into bestiality. And then Kennedy says, I know you're not, but you challenge the qualification. you mentioned beastiality. You're not telling us to say if a human had sex with an animal that they could still be an FBI agent.
Starting point is 00:04:38 Yeah, so then they go back and forth and he comes up with this trafficking response. Again, like, tell us without telling us, you want to fuck a horse. So then the senator, John Kennedy, is like, did you come up with this cash? And he said, no. No, someone else did. Someone else said it. His explanation was that somebody at the FBI showed him an unspriced. specified case involving applicants who were forced into bestiality. And so apparently,
Starting point is 00:05:08 apparently this is a real problem. Okay. So then John, this is, John Kennedy? Is that his name? Like JFK? It is Robert Kennedy. John, sorry, I take it back. It's not RFK. It's John Kennedy. Republican Senator John Kennedy. So, which also, RFK is totally fucked an animal too. At first I thought it was RFK and I was like, why is he against this? Or no, he just like kills animals. He puts him in his car. I don't know. whatever he's got going on. So he goes, and when this person brought this to you, Cash, did you not say, what planet are you from? Like, I hate nothing more than an old dusty Republican senator, but really he held his feet to the fire. Because he's like, what are we doing? Caffirtele was like really trying to do something. He was like, I am going to stand up for this
Starting point is 00:05:50 disenfranchised, marginalized community. And, you know, it's through zero faults of their own that they had sex with an animal. Whose fault was it? You know what I got to say? why stop there? Because we have pedophilia covered. Now we have beastiality covered. What about necrophilia, dendrophilia, sex with trees? Agamataphelia, which I just looked up, dolls and mannequins. What about the one where you have sex with the ground, like in saltburn? Okay. That didn't come up on my Google search. It's giving necrophilia, like trees on the ground, like nature. You get turned on by nature. Necrophilia is dead bodies, though. Dendrophilia. Sorry, sorry. Sex with trees. Okay. What does it sounds like dandelion? Like, this administration rain is so sick. Like, how about
Starting point is 00:06:30 we all just have sex with consenting human adults. Is that so much to ask? Let's bring anything else into the mix. Like, if you were trafficked and you were forced to have sex with an animal and you've applied to the FBI and didn't get in because of it previously, please leave a comment. But I just don't think that's happened. Also, like, I guess there can be exceptions to rules and we can, like, cross that bridge when we come to it.
Starting point is 00:06:56 Why have we used the precious time of our United States government? I mean, what else are they doing? But like, this needed to go to court or to stop. No, like, let's cross that bridge when we get to it. Like, it's in the FBI bylaws. It's like, we could allow it. Let's just worry about it when it happens. He also never explained what those circumstances look like, how many cases of this
Starting point is 00:07:15 existed. He never provided evidence or examples citing privacy concerns. He was like, it does happen. We just can't tell you about it. Right. And you know, the crazy part is that prior to 2016, maybe even if this happened in Trump 1.0, This would be the biggest headline because of how insane it is. Like, if James Comey had done this, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:07:37 But this is just like another day. This didn't even make top headlines, I bet. If Democrats brought this to the floor. This was niche. The Republicans would be carrying torches. Like, I can't believe we're wasting our time on this. This is just another day. We have the Paul brothers going to the Pentagon.
Starting point is 00:07:51 Like, this country is a clown show. Like, is Kathaelle not embarrassed? He's like, I would like these words to come out of my mouth. I would like to bring this to the floor of the House and the Senate. I would like to say out loud in front of hundreds of people and the world that bestiality should be a protected class. So Cash Patel is totally incompetent, but he can't own it. Like, they're all so terrible.
Starting point is 00:08:12 Pete Heggseth, when he speaks, he speaks with conviction. He's wrong. He's a horrible person. He's misogynist, racist, all the things. But Cash Patel can't own it. So it makes me think someone set him up. It makes me think someone saw an opening to be like, Cash, I got to tell you, There's all these trafficking victims that have been forced to have sex with animals.
Starting point is 00:08:32 And you need to bring this to the Senate. It's a work prank. He's the person that would buy it. Remember that time that you thought that TV show, the fictional TV show, is real? Yeah, I forget what it was about. It was about how we all have a soulmate in the world. And there was a company that could find it for you. And you thought that was real.
Starting point is 00:08:49 I was just really desperate to find someone at the time. I was just really on the hunt. I'm not. Sometimes I think that I don't need romantic love the way that other people do. I think that's great. It would be sad if you were like desperate to find. someone and you felt like you couldn't? I mean, I think that you can, obviously. But like, if you were desperate to find love, you would have not broken up with the guy that was just
Starting point is 00:09:08 really getting to me. You know, sometimes I just think like, why do I, I don't need anybody besides for sex because I have you and Emily and Melanie. We've been fucking you guys. No, she doesn't have sex with me. But if you did, that would totally neutralize my need for a partner. Yeah. I never sit around in my house and think, you know what makes this experience better is a man. I know. And if you ever get horny, you. hit the zoo and join the FBI. Okay, so on a lighter note in our animal report, it is Fat Bear Week. Hell yeah. So Fat Bear Week is a single elimination tournament where the public votes online for the fattest, most successful bear. This is in Canada. Sorry, sorry, Alaska, you guys, let me be clear.
Starting point is 00:09:44 Canada, Alaska, you get them all twisted up. Okay, so fatter bears have the best chance to survive winter hibernation. The bear with the most votes advances, and then one winner is crowned Fat Bear Week champion on Tuesday, September 29th. And you can go to Explore.com. org to find all this and to vote. I think it's very funny that voters decide by comparing early and late summer photos of the bears. So it's based on how fat they got. This is the opposite of like American like game shows that we had growing up like the biggest loser. It's just like how much weight can you gain. So you meet the bears. They're all on the website. The website looks like it's the Oregon Trail. Honestly, this website has not been updated since 95 and I love that
Starting point is 00:10:21 nostalgia. So there are WordPress Plus Prague. You meet the bears and then you consider their life history. They're unique challenges they face. There's a bio on each. And there are four. categories. Bear families. Sub-adults. What's that mean? Single-teens. Okay. Single-adult females and adult males, which when I read these, it was the low-key giving porn category. We have family, stuff, family for you, sub-adults. Sub-adults. That's for Donald Trump and Epstein and all them. I was thinking more submissive, not teens. Oh, I thought Matt, you thought so, like, Dom and Sub. When I said porn, you didn't.
Starting point is 00:10:53 I said sub-adult, and I was like, oh, you were right. Teens, but I'm thinking submissive adults. All so sexy. Single adult females. I just think it was funny. Okay, so I have a pick for us. I don't know if you checked them out. But there's really only one that spoke to me. These are like the categories like best actor, best supporting actor.
Starting point is 00:11:08 Yeah. And then I think you vote from each category. Again, guys, it's a little confusing. I wish I understood this better. But just get in there. You'll explore literally on explore.org and then you'll vote. So I just wanted to give you guys our pick this year. It is a single female.
Starting point is 00:11:21 She's number 9, 10. Again, some of them have names, some of numbers. It's confusing. But this is a large adult female who is dark brown fur, a prominent brow ridge and somewhat short forward pointing ears. Born in 2016, Bear 910 is the daughter of former fat Bear Week champion. So she's a legacy 409, B-Nose, and then sister to 909. Just a little bit about her.
Starting point is 00:11:41 She, this is where I really think it would speak to you. So she's separated from that letter in late spring 2025. Since then, she's lived alone and has used the opportunity to fish wherever and whenever she wants. She is me. That's what I'm saying. She's like, I'm going to do whatever fuck I want. I'm just going to do me.
Starting point is 00:11:54 And large and healthy female bears attract the disease. of many males. So body fat is really what attracts the males. It's like the ability to nurse their newborn cubs. 9-10 looks well endowed. Her previous life experience, success, and her skills in building fat give her the position to achieve even more life. So we have a single independent woman who loves to eat. Not on the same. Yep. She loves salmon. She just wants to be alone. Whatever she wants. So bear 9-10. But I mean, you know, there's read about them and see which one speaks to you. Okay. Did you pick a family for us? Um, I just thought a single woman would be our out of the whole. Okay. I agree. No, I'm with you. I don't care about families. But check out the
Starting point is 00:12:37 families. I'm never going to have one of those. I don't care about that. And that's our animal report. This is okay. It's so delightful. Um, should we move into our Taylor report? We have a Taylor report. Yes. Okay. So Taylor Swift, I mean, she was obviously at the Chiefs game. She is on camera watching Travis Kelsey and she is yelling at this clip. That's my husband. I don't care about the chiefs. What he score? He passed, like, whatever. She pointed a ring. Yeah. The clip that went viral, again, this is really her first big sighting of the NFL season. I think he scored. I think he scored. Yeah. Let's just call that. And she just, like, points at the ring and, like, mouths, that's my husband. I thought it was
Starting point is 00:13:11 very cute. The cutest. The cutest. I mean, like, oh, my God, it's so cute. If you're going to hate on it, you just hate her. Which is fine. I actually was really surprised when I saw, like, a couple people being, like, the internet's divided about this. That's her man. She's proud of him. Yeah. What, I actually was, like, shocked And I mean, people just want a problem with everything. I thought it was so cute. And also, look what she has been through. She's just like, Joe Owen. What's that guy doing?
Starting point is 00:13:33 Matt Healy, who just, like, fucked her over and just, like, strung her along. She had John Mayer, who's one of the more famous fuck boys in America, just fucked with everybody. And she gets her guy. She's happy. She's excited. She's just, I think it's the cutest thing. I couldn't believe people had a problem with it. Yeah, I just saw some.
Starting point is 00:13:49 I mean, people also just are probably just posting rage bait. But I just like, you know, make marriage cool again. But I liked her hair. Is she cut she cut it? It is a more definitive Bob for sure. Did we know this? She didn't communicate it with me. Did I miss something?
Starting point is 00:14:03 Like she's cut her hair since her wedding. Right? Yes, absolutely. So I love this hair. She's wearing a tank top. It's from Aaron Andrew's brand, wear by EA, which I had never heard of.
Starting point is 00:14:13 $40 tank top sold out during the game. I thought it was very cute. It was very kind of Abercrombie in the 90s, early 2000s, like the cut in the style. I thought it was really cute. And, you know, good for her. And I'd be showing that ring off too. Okay.
Starting point is 00:14:25 Taylor, Frankie Paul. Huge news. Huge news. She has announced in a rather wordy statement. I thought I was having a stroke. But I don't follow her. And then I went and read some of her other posts. And like, yeah, it's just a lot of words.
Starting point is 00:14:41 And, you know, she's letting it out. It's giving diary entry. I mean, she's just stream of consciousness, letting it go. Yeah. So she announced that she will be leaving secret lives of Mormon wives. And so in the post, she kind of cycles through like accountability and victimhood and martyrhood and martyrhood, martyrdom? Martyrdom.
Starting point is 00:14:58 Martyrdom and reinvention. I mean, she just kind of changes her tone throughout this post saying, like, I wanted to leave before and now I'm going to go back to having left, but I was bullied, but this is the best thing for me. And it's just, she sort of like just goes back and forth. She's an interesting character because she both created the show, but she is destroying the show. That is the take.
Starting point is 00:15:17 There was no show without her. And there will never be another season like this. I mean, they'll do spinoffs and what. whatnot. I don't think it will ever reach this level of popularity. Also, it was the first season of it. But she needs to go for her own mental health. And then people that they don't want to film with her. And then Michaela came out last week and was like, this is why I'm leaving the show. I can't be on this show with her. And so you said, we'll see if it sticks. She's making a statement. Would she go back on it? Would they let her back on? I have no idea. I mean, this is just really been chaotic. I think they'll let her back on. I think she's like some great television.
Starting point is 00:15:55 and I'm guilty of it too, where I'm like, this person shouldn't be on TV, but I tune in to watch her. And I don't subscribe to sometimes. Sometimes she says, you know, I created all this. Of course, I should be in charge of it. I'm, I created it. I'm the leader. It's like, yeah, but you're also the person that has made everybody not want to film, but she is the most famous person. She's the most chaotic.
Starting point is 00:16:13 It's like, would people tune in without her? I don't know. I'm guilty of it, too. Yeah. I mean, I guess you could test that by giving her a spinoff. Not that that's what should happen. She's unwell, but give her her own crazy spinoff. Give her a Rob and China for that show.
Starting point is 00:16:27 So crazy. What did she say in the car? Are you texting bitches? Are you texting bitches? Like, Rob and China was one of the most toxic shows where it was like, I don't know, this shouldn't be, we shouldn't be watching this. And that's kind of what it's turned into. I know.
Starting point is 00:16:39 And I mean, to me, there's a real, and I think we talked about this before, there's a real difference between, like, drama that feels like things that do happen every day in real life, like West and Amanda and Kyle and Summerhouse. And of course, that's all a horrible situation. But people break up and then they sleep with their spouse's friends. This does happen. It doesn't feel like a sick level of drama. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:59 The stuff with Taylor, Frankie Paul and Dakota, I mean, they're calling child protective services on each other. Her children aren't safe. I think that's the thing for me. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:07 If she didn't have kids, I'd be like, let her cook. I mean, obviously, I care about people's mental health, of course. But I think that's the part that's like, lady,
Starting point is 00:17:13 you got to take care of your kids. This is just too much. Like, everyone feels for the children involved in this. I saw another post because I was on her Instagram where she said she's celibate now,
Starting point is 00:17:23 ma'am. I'm sorry, maybe she is. I can't picture a world in which her and Dakota aren't fucking. I can't picture a world in which they are ever in the same vicinity. So I just thought that was interesting. And she just, you can tell the behavior because the way she responds back to comments and stuff, like she's just going through it. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:17:42 Like someone like that needs treatment or medication and for their own sake. She eggs people on a line and then she says I'm being bullied. And there was a situation like last week with like Leland, Miranda and her. her and Chase and she did something that was a little provocative towards them. And then they clapped back at her and she claims victim. And whatever it is, this person like does need help and should be like taken off of television. It's just, it's like enough. And if I was the other cast members in season five, all these women who have built really big followings on their own, their own businesses, if I was a facilitator to a storyline for five episodes about the same
Starting point is 00:18:19 shit that we've been watching for the last four seasons, which is Taylor and Dakota, and no one focused on me or my business or my family or my marriage, I would be like, what am I doing here? Like if I'm Jesse, if I'm any of these other characters. Yeah, I mean, getting a paycheck. Relaxing. I'm sure they had to film just as much time. I'm sure there was cameras in their homes. Yeah, true. I mean, listen, I would collect a paycheck if I was just there to like hang out. Yeah, you're right. You're right. Okay, let's just take a break and then we will pick it back up. Okay. I'm telling you guys about Hinge, which, you know, Ashley and I always say is our favorite app. And what I love about it is just it is the app that creates the most opportunities to
Starting point is 00:18:57 facilitate conversation. I think it is nerve-wracking for a lot of people to make a profile, to be the first person to message, to carry on a conversation, ask them to be on a date, get off of the app. And so Hinge, I think, is the app that does the best job of creating intentionality and dating and providing opportunities for you to create conversation. So there's all these prompts. And I just wanted to give a couple tips of like what I think is really good on these profiles. I mean, I think anything. that shows your personality, anything that, like, shows a hobby that you specifically like to do. I think some people are trying to cast a wide net. But if you're like, you're a vegan and you're
Starting point is 00:19:31 really into that or any type of food, if there's a specific workout or activity you really love post photos of yourself doing that, like give people something to talk about with you. Yeah. I think that instead of answering the prompts in a more generalized way, if you can show that you're funny or sarcastic while keeping it really positive still, I think all of those are really good tips. And then obviously photos of just you in it and a good photo. You know which one you are. You can have sunglasses on there if you want, but people see your real face in at least one photo. It doesn't need to be a headshot.
Starting point is 00:20:01 But, you know, people want to see what you look like and they want to see if you have kind eyes or not. No, I'm just kidding. You know, if you just want to see your whole face, smile. Yeah. You know, unless you don't like to smile. And you're like, this is what you're getting. And that's what makes you unique. Yeah, that's what makes me.
Starting point is 00:20:14 You're like, I don't do that. So if you are looking to meet somebody, check out Hinge, download the app that is designed to be deleted. Okay. And I'm telling you guys about good wipes. I love good wipes. So much. We have these in all of our bathrooms. I just love them to use after you go to the bathroom. This is upgrading from just toilet paper and it's going to upgrade your whole bathroom routine. It's going to make you feel cleaner back there. After you go to the bathroom, they're really, really soft. They are made with plant-based fibers. They don't use harsh chemicals and they're actually flushable. Once you try good wipes, you're not going to want to go back to just toilet paper. So again, we have them in every single bathroom. I love the rosewater so much. They have a fragrance-free. Of course, if you want botanical bliss, I like. as well, but the rosewater is my absolute fave. I love the color of the packaging. They just look so good, like, sitting in the back of the toilet. So those are my absolute faves. I just really,
Starting point is 00:21:01 really love the smell. I'm like, they could make a perfume, and I would wear it. There is cedar. That's a little bit more of a boy smell. And the Shea Coco, I love as well. And I mean, I consider myself someone that has like semi-sensitive skin and I still use all the scented ones. But again, you can get the fragrance free if you want. You can bring them with you in your purse, your gym bag, your carry-on when you travel. They are one of those products you don't realize you need until you try them. Again, the best booty wipes I've ever tried. And we are just, such fans of it. So Goodwipes wants your booty to have a sensational season. Buy any two packs of good wipes at your favorite retailer. Starting point is 00:21:31 them. For more details, head to Goodwipes.com slash GGE. Zebiotics has sold more than 14 million bottles and earned the trust of thousands, including us. I mean, it is just not an option for me to spend a whole day feeling foggy. Starting point is 00:22:26 I want to be as energized and awake as possible. And I don't want it to, you know, curb into my social life. So I like to just drink a little bottle of it before I go out. They're a tiny, easy to take. And you can try it yourself today. And if you are unsatisfied, they will refund your entire order. No questions asked. Head to zbiotics.com slash gGE.
Starting point is 00:22:43 Code GGE for 15% off your first order. Zbiotics is a partner of ours. Okay. So we have a debate that is race. aging on the internet. This was started with a TikToker who called out Gen Z candidates in interviews. It doesn't always have to be Gen Z, but I guess this is how it started. It can be anybody of any age. Any candidate, yeah. More so Gen Z for arriving to interviews with ice coffee in hand. And she is a recruiter. And she said, when you show up with an ice coffee or an ice latte, it's perceived from my opinion and a hiring standpoint that this interview was just a stop.
Starting point is 00:23:22 on your list of errands for the day. It looks like you went to Target, went to Starbucks, and now you're stopping by your interview before moving on to the next thing. And people push back. And this debate raged online. I think most people are in agreement of that, but some people aren't.
Starting point is 00:23:35 That you do not need to bring it. Yeah. How do you feel? I would love to start by saying that I love that a hot coffee isn't even in this debate. As a hot coffee drinker because... Oh, I kind of thought of it
Starting point is 00:23:46 as just showing up with a beverage to an interview. I know. But I want to speak on it from being a hot coffee. If you brought a hot coffee, it would be better than a wet, dripping cup. But us hot coffee drinkers would never. I just think we have more sophistication, professionalism. And not say that iced coffee drinkers don't, but I just love how we're not even in the conversation. We would like to be excluded from this narrative. I'm an ice coffee drinker and I have tons of professionalism and class. I also don't put ice in my ice coffee if you guys are new here. So it's actually not to me, I was thinking that. the sound of just an iced beverage I don't love, that sounds a little too fucking casual to me. I don't like when people bring it into our studio. No, I'm also, again, I'm just like making jokes because I'm a hot coffee-ass bitch. Showing up with a coffee at all is insane.
Starting point is 00:24:39 It's exactly what she said. It's like, this is a casual party your day. You didn't manage your time. Why didn't you have your coffee already? You would just stop and get it on the way to a job interview. A dripping cup with a straw. You're going to drink out of a straw at a job interview. Tell me you're drinking out of a straw at a job interview while this cup drips on what your lap or a desk.
Starting point is 00:25:02 Where are you going to put it? You haven't thought this through. Like, it's just, it's deeper than that. I'm sorry because you know what you have on your person, what you're wearing, what you're holding, when you walk into a job interview. If it means something to you. So you're thinking I'm going to roll up in there and do what with this cup and sip this straw in someone's face? See, I totally agree. When I was 22, I worked at this job, and Melanie and I were waitresses there.
Starting point is 00:25:27 And my boss was this big, giant Serbian guy. And it was like a pretty serious restaurant. And she and I were, I don't know, probably drunk and laughing. And he came out to me and he said, you're a little too fucking comfortable. And I hear that in my head all the time. Like, it's not as deep as this. It sounds aggressive. It sounds like mean. Instead of me as sad. I would never talk to somebody like that. That's so weird. But I do hear it in my head. You're a little too fucking comfortable. I just, people are welcome to have a snack and a beverage before they walk into a building. I think that you should be able to get through an interview without needing to hydrate. And no one's starving you.
Starting point is 00:25:57 No, no, no. This is like a little too sensitive. The people on the internet that are like, you should let people have drinks. People can get through an interview for 45 minutes without drinking. Listen, I'll push back. You can hydrate. Who has ever gone to a job interview and not been offered a water? Or if you actually said, do you have a water?
Starting point is 00:26:14 You should be offered the beverage in the building. But this isn't about hydration. Stop it. This is not about hydration. That's not what coffee's for. I'm just saying like, I understand if you're going to talk for an hour, you can have a water. You don't need to bring your ice coffee. Like, I don't even think hydration is in the conversation.
Starting point is 00:26:30 This is a whole different thing. I'm telling you the comments that I read, people being like, people must be allowed to hydrate. Well, that's a terrible argument. Also, someone else, someone called this ableism. No, the arguments are crazy. And the people that were actually disabled were like, do not say this is abelism that you need to have your ice coffee or job. We've taken a job in a review. Also, by the way, it's the smelliest of the beverages.
Starting point is 00:26:50 It makes your breath smell. It does smell. You don't need it. I want to go to an interview smelling perfect. And not dripping. Coffee breath. In a room. It's just like you look casual, a little too fucking comfortable.
Starting point is 00:27:03 And if that's how you want to treat a job interview, you better hope that potential future employer feels the same way. And they probably don't. And I, so like one of, I saw that one, Gen Z TikToker explained the fight isn't about lattes, but about rejecting arbitrary standards of professionalism, which I just just like don't agree with it all. Like, we hire people. I would not stand for this.
Starting point is 00:27:24 Dress for the job you want. It doesn't include a cold brew. Get out of here. If somebody showed up to an interview, I was thinking of this, somebody showed up for an interview with you and I, and they like had their little coffee, even on a Zoom interview,
Starting point is 00:27:33 I wouldn't like it. And it wouldn't be something I would be like texting you about, being like, can you believe this? I would just be like, huh, it's a little comfortable for my, for me. It just looks like, again,
Starting point is 00:27:43 you just, this was a stop on your day. So I want to read a couple of my favorite threads. This one says, go ahead and bring that ice coffee to a job interview. Eat a cheeseburger at a doctor's appointment. Show up to court with a bowl of ice cream. Why shouldn't you have everything you want at exactly the moment you want it? And that's the problem.
Starting point is 00:27:58 Have some fucking restraint. This says, when did professionalism become oppression? Why does everything have to be casual? The ice coffee discourse is insane. It's unprofessional. As a head of talent acquisition and recruiter for Fortune 10 companies for over 20 years. I've watched professionalism decline in real time. We're watching basic standards become controversial.
Starting point is 00:28:14 And then this one, don't stop at ice coffee. Take powdered donuts, nature valley granola. bar, seafood boils and tacos to your interviews, too. You got this, Gen Z. You just, you don't have to. And again, you can have a water and you can bring a water. Like, if I brought my tote bag to a job interview and I might, I'm going to talk for an hour potentially. I might get a little parched. I would bring my water bottle out of my bag if I hadn't been offered a water. Hydration is allowed. Sure. Coffee, do better. I just, like, we can't have a problem with everything all the Like, there aren't just some standards to society that we, can we just, like, adhere to them?
Starting point is 00:28:54 Like, just, we don't need to be bringing a loud, smelly, sweating beverage into an interview. Someone said a condensation cup. Yeah. It's the straw for me. Can you picture it sipping from a straw in a job interview? I mean, certainly not if it was a man. If I watched a man sip with a straw in an interview, oh, my God. So let us know what you guys think, but if you think you should do that, you're wrong.
Starting point is 00:29:16 You can't work here. You can work somewhere else. And we are hiring. And it's not going to be you. Oh my gosh. I was interviewing when I used to work for Union Square Cafe for Danny Meyer. I was interviewing people for like host dispositions. And somebody emailed me and asked what the address of the building was.
Starting point is 00:29:36 And I just never wrote back. I was like, you can't work here. Because it's about you, your ability to figure things out in your own and problem solved. Yeah. I mean, this was while the internet existed. I know this was a while ago. But the internet was alive and kicking. And to me, when we are interviewing candidates, I am thinking about the way their brains work
Starting point is 00:29:55 and how they function through the, the thought process. Yeah. So the thought process of I'm heading to interview with girls got to eat, let me grab my ice coffee on the way and bring it is not the thought process I want to hire. And you could be a great employee. You could do the job. But that's what I'm thinking about if I'm the employer. If somebody showed up to ours with ice coffee, I would be like they think that we're friends.
Starting point is 00:30:20 And I do want to be friends with all you, especially Ashley really wants to be friends with all of you. But I don't want to hire one of our besties. I want to hire somebody that's going to keep us in line. If you get the job, you can bring your iced coffee to work every day. 365. Every single day after that. It's just the fucking interview. Yeah, that's it.
Starting point is 00:30:38 Okay. And we just wanted to give an update on this Ed Shearin controversy. Macklemore, we talked about it last week. So right after we recorded last week, news broke that Ed Shearant's openers and his band quit. The tour in solidarity with Macklemore and, of course, the opposition of censorship, the way the situation was handled. So I just want to say that I was kind of a part of this drama and like the fallout from it. I went to Dermannedy this past weekend in Boston. So exciting.
Starting point is 00:31:04 Life-changing concert, guys, I can't recommend enough. Like, I just, that's like my favorite artist outside of Beyonce. I just, I feel like my heart was like breaking and bursting at the same time. It was so great if you have a chance to see him, you should. So two days before the concert, we get a notification. The concert time has been moved from 8 to 730. Okay. Moved up. I find that interesting, don't you? It's moved up at a half hour. And I didn't really think much of it. But Alyssa, we went to the concert with Alyssa Amaroso, our friend and her husband, Sean. And she looked it up and she saw that they had added an opener. And that's why it went 30 minutes earlier. So in addition to the one opener they had, they had added this other opener, this Irish singer-songwriter named Aaron Rowe, because he had left Ed Shearant's tour. So the night that we saw him, that was the night in Philly that we're going to talk.
Starting point is 00:31:49 talk about. So he was not on Ed Shearons tour. So Dermott Kennedy brought him onto his tour. Wow. I could cry thinking about this. Like, I don't know what went down. Obviously, these are all Irish performers. So like maybe wanted to make sure he, you know, had a job or made some more money since he's quitting this tour. And Aaron Rowe, we loved him. We loved his energy. He was incredible. Just really no fuck's kind of attitude. And I saw his statement when he left Ed Shearin's tour. And it was nice. It was like professional and kind, but like, I'm going to do this and stand in solidarity with what's happening. And I just think that was crazy.
Starting point is 00:32:21 And like, Alyssa and I were like, we're in the drama. Like, we're part of this fallout. And it was cool to see that that really happened. So that was happening on our end in Boston. And meanwhile, Ed Sheeran was making a statement at his show in Philly. Crazy to pay to see Ed Shearron at the link. But, you know, that's you, do you, you guys. And he opened the show with this apology, essentially.
Starting point is 00:32:46 And we're going to discuss it. I don't want to spend too much time on. I know it's juicy. I know it's a big news item right now. You know, part of me just doesn't want to contribute to this problem of holding musical artists more accountable than the billionaire who started this shit in the first place, who's the real villain, our politicians, our administration. Like, his statement was what I expected.
Starting point is 00:33:05 I knew he would not please everybody. I think that he said some worthy things. I think it also felt a little self-centered and authentic at times. Well, people also felt like this arrived. He was very like up the middle before. I'm not political, and then everybody quit, and this affected ticket sales. But he's, yeah, maybe, but I'm not certain of all the statistic on the ticket sales. The stadium was full, I guess.
Starting point is 00:33:27 But the few things. Like, later in the show, he kind of apologized for the apology. He didn't walk it back, but he was like, I just want to apologize for earlier. And I saw a comment that said, when you apologize for the apology, neutralized the apology, he said it was the best show of his life. Oh, okay, after your whole band and all your, your opener's quit, best show your life. He said his family and friends abandoned him, which. is rough, you know, no matter what you're canceled for, that is rough if your family abandons you.
Starting point is 00:33:50 But, you know, he did this whole kind of, What Was Me thing at the end. But I wanted to talk to you about the teleprompter of it all. And I really want to hear your thoughts on this because he was reading off a teleprompter that was more at his feet. Yeah. Obviously, it couldn't have been in the back because everyone would have seen it and read it. But it was clear he was looking down and he was reading the teleprompter out of his feet. And I want to talk to you about this because this has been a real critique that I've seen.
Starting point is 00:34:11 The people were upset that he was really out of the outspenter. Yeah, upset or just throwing shade. Yeah, I guess. And upset. I didn't hate it as much as other people hated it. And the reason why I think this is just really touchy. And I think that he's already stepped on so many landmines. And I'm glad that you acknowledge, I mean, I'm not on his side.
Starting point is 00:34:28 But I'm glad to acknowledge, like, Robert Kraft and other people are also to blame here. Yeah. He handled it terribly, by the way. I'm not defending it. Handled so crazy poorly. Yes. And he really just was like very wishy-washy instead my promoter made me do this. I mean, he really just, he made it all the wrong mistakes.
Starting point is 00:34:45 Yes. So I do understand feeling like there are so many landmines and I want to get this right and I want to show that this matters to me. And so I can't memorize this long speech. I wrote something and I want to read it to you. I don't think it's that crazy that you read off of a telepromp. This is a speech that needs to be read. You are talking about Gaza. You are in the thick of this controversy.
Starting point is 00:35:08 People are going to dissect every word. I would never raw dog this shit. I would never. But what I would do is I would say I'm going to read this. this because I want to get it right. Sure. You know, I might have pulled out a piece of paper to make it seem more authentic. Like, I might have been like, I want to read this because I want to make sure I don't get
Starting point is 00:35:25 it wrong and it's very important to me. At least I think addressing it would have been the better move again. They're doing everything wrong. You're so right. I would have read that word for word. I would have practiced it so it would have felt more natural to me. But I really would have wanted that. You're so right.
Starting point is 00:35:40 I think he should have said, like, what has happened up until now is really disheartening and it's affecting a lot of people and I want to get this right. And there is only one shot for it. I mean, you and I went to a late night monologue recently. And it was long. And so the person that was doing the monologue paused and restarted and then it's edited together. We went to like a 4 p.m. taping of something that was going to air at 11 p.m.
Starting point is 00:36:00 So, I mean, you get a lot of shots at this. This is live. By the way, he wrote that and had practiced it a million times. And still read it off the teleprompter. Yeah. I think it's crazy to have demanded that he memorized. something that is so touchy and in general, you know? I just, I couldn't have been me.
Starting point is 00:36:22 I would have needed to read it from something. I think you're right. I think a woman would have thought, let's have it on a piece of paper. Let's acknowledge this. This is really important. I would have felt more authentic. So people's critique are like he was reading a prepared statement from his PR company off a teleprompter.
Starting point is 00:36:34 You might be right. But I'm not mad at the teleprompter. And if that's your main critique, then I don't know, I think you should do better at criticizing him because there's plenty to criticize. And I didn't like how, did you watch as soon as he finished his speech? He was like, now we're going to do these songs. He was like, now watch this drive. Like, it literally was so cringe.
Starting point is 00:36:47 And then the way it was all handled, like, it was such a disaster, all of it. Like, I'm not in defense of it. But I'm not going to get mad about the teleprompter. No, me too. All the things to get mad about, that's not one of them. Okay. Well, that is that. And we are just going to take a quick break and then talk about more censorship.
Starting point is 00:37:04 All right here. Okay. So I am going to tell you guys about Redkin, acidic grow full system. I am so excited to talk about this day. I'm always excited to talk about my hair and my hair journey that I'm always on. And we all know your hair affects the way that you feel about yourself, your confidence. I feel like however my hair looks, that's how I'm going to feel that day. It's not my best day today.
Starting point is 00:37:22 But, you know, it could be worse. So if you just feel like the difference between a good hair day and a bad one, it can just really throw you off. So the Redkin acidic full grow system is something I have been using recently and really love. I've always loved Redkin this whole system. So we have a shampoo, a conditioner, the instant densifying spray, and the scalp serum. So I've mentioned this before.
Starting point is 00:37:43 my issue has been dealing with thinning, shedding, and breakage that can really just make your hair look and feel thinner, which is frustrating. It's just really impacted the way my hair has looked all the way around. So when I found this, I was so excited to use it. And I'm telling you that it really reduces the breakage. It makes your hair look and feel stronger immediately. Raina's used it. Raina loves it. I love it. And also, I went to actually get an extra bottle at Alta. And the girl at the counter said, how is this? We sell a ton of this. People love it. And I was like, oh, okay. I love it. Yeah. And I love the color, too. I know me too. Of course the product inside is what it's about. So I've incorporated this full system in my routine. Again, the densifying shampoo conditioner, a hair and scalp ceremony, an instant densifying spray. I felt like right when I first started using it, I feel like that fullness, that thicker looking hair and healthy feeling scalp. We talked about this recently on an episode that we did about skin and hair. How much your scalp health really matters when it comes to your hair health, of course, and how your hair looks and feels. So we just love this so much. And you guys can check it out too. You can visit Alta Beauty to shop Redkin, Acidic, grow, full system online and start building your healthiest looking. hair routine. Okay, and I'm telling you guys about butcher box. I am pretty picky about proteins. Like, sometimes I just will opt to not cook one because I'm just like, I can't, like, trust the quality of this. So I'm loving butcher box. Ashley and I both have gotten big deliveries from them, and there's so much to choose from. Butcher box delivers 100% grass-fed beef, organic chicken, wild-cut seafood, and more, all sourced to standards. They can actually
Starting point is 00:39:02 tell you about it. They've already done the research and made the tough sourcing decisions, so all you have to do is decide what's for dinner. So I love that this is just like in my fridge. Like I mentioned, there's multiple kinds of steaks. There's strip and filet, which is what I have. There's multiple kinds of salmon that you can get. There's chicken. And I just like that when I am home, like off the road, there's just, like, food in my fridge. And I can pull it out.
Starting point is 00:39:23 I know it'll be good. I know it be high quality. And there's ground beef. You can make, like, great burgers with that. And it just stops me from, like, ordering takeout or having to take a trip to the store. I just like, like, opening the fridge and it's there. It's delivered to you. It's easy.
Starting point is 00:39:35 And it's really, really high quality. We're obsessed. We eat it all the time. A chicken can be weird. I say it all the time. the chicken is amazing, the ground beef. You've had the burgers. We've had the bacon. We've had the salmon. The bears would bear 9-10. She loved that salmon. So we're just obsessed, obsessed to you guys. Starting point is 00:41:27 These statements are not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration. This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, prevent any disease. Okay. And in other news, the world's biggest baby, Donald Trump has banned multiple news organizations from the White House, CNN, MSN now, and Politico reporters. They were all denied access to the White House following his ban. They are suing him as they should. And I actually can't believe it's but major TV networks actually decided to stand with CNN and
Starting point is 00:41:53 declined to replace its White House pool crew, including Fox News. I couldn't believe it. So they're all banning together because this should be everyone's goal. I'm sorry, even the Fox News propaganda machine should be like free speech includes having these outlets, hold our administration accountable and be at the White House. I don't trust them. But who can you trust these days? But like everyone really has come together on this.
Starting point is 00:42:18 Of course. It's insane. I feel like, you know, it's just like what else is there to say about this? It's horrifying. It should be totally illegal. I can't believe that the Supreme Court didn't strike this down in an hour. Like, how are we days into this? This is still happening.
Starting point is 00:42:30 You can't deny press access. And there is no, you know, there's freedom of the press. There's no precedent that says like, precedent. Whatever. Don't worry about it. that says that you must allow press access to the White House, I guess, if you want to get into semantics. But this feels wholly unconstitutional and sick and crazy.
Starting point is 00:42:46 And, you know, what people voted for. So, okay. So then at a White House event, yesterday as we record, Trump is out there talking about a helipad, I believe, whatever. There's no press pull. So there's no mics. So he's screaming into the abyss. These videos, right?
Starting point is 00:43:04 I can't, they're my porn category. I can't stop watching them. So he's just screaming and no audio was getting picked up. So even news outlets trying to air it or like we can't hear him. He's just yelling into the void. Like I'm obsessed with him not understanding how this works. If there's no mics, there's no sound. It's unbelievable.
Starting point is 00:43:23 It was a good day. It was a good day yesterday after all of this, which is just so obviously devastating but not surprising and so sad for our country and our democracy to see that, to see this fucking idiot yelling into the abyss. no audio inaudible mics are off. Ashley, do you see the clips of him and Mom Dani
Starting point is 00:43:42 yesterday? And Mom Dani is standing there just disassociating. I was at first I saw them on screen together and I was like pissed. I was like,
Starting point is 00:43:52 I cannot believe that he's going to stand there next to Donald Trump. He's strategic. He knows what he's doing. But he literally just stood there. He just wasn't even alive. Like,
Starting point is 00:44:01 the strongest man alive. So Trump just ranted and rambled. So that's happening and this is a developing story, but we like to see it. These news organizations should stand together when it comes to this of all things. And just on this note, James Tallerico, so this is going to be the one of the most watched Senate races of the midterms. He is running against Texas Attorney General
Starting point is 00:44:23 Ken Paxton, who has faced 10 to 20 years of corruption, impeachment, criminal indictments. Ken Paxton is a total criminal. He has 15 homes, real man of the people. His own staff reported into the FBI. Like, his, like, rap sheet is insane. So James Taraleroico, he might be my new crush. I got to say that. I don't know. He's got this sexy voice.
Starting point is 00:44:45 Like, this, like, calming demeanor. He was going on Kimmel, and the FCC basically threatened them that they couldn't air it. And it has to do with, like, equal time for both parties. But this is all, this wouldn't have happened outside of a Trump presidency. And they're not having Ken Paxton on Kimmel. He wouldn't go on in the first place. Also, late night TV shows have usually been excluded out of this. equal time. Bottom line, if you want to get into it, you can read up yourself. But because of
Starting point is 00:45:10 FCC threats, the James Talleygo interview wasn't aired on Kimmel, so they put it on YouTube. It's currently at 13 million views. And it's incredible. There's no reason for it to be banned other than this isn't controversial. I mean, he's talking about the corruption, the theft of his opponent, people in Texas, being sick and tired of being taken advantage of. He talks about the fallacy, the welfare queen, Elon Musk. And what would Jesus do? You can't love Jesus and hate your neighbor. So he is a Christian man, and he really has become a popular political force in Texas, and I'm just really rooting for him. So we will be watching that one really closely. It's a grassroots movement. It's very momdani-coded, and I'm just excited to see it. But it's just crazy. You know, I told you,
Starting point is 00:45:51 like, pull up this interview and just watch the first three minutes where they talk about why this couldn't air on Kimmel, and it's unbelievable. So anyway, go James. We're going to take you guys through your headlines and then we're going to send you off into your weekend. Lena Dunham welcomed her first baby with her husband. She wrote a lot about how she has a hysterectomy. And she wrote a lot in her book about how she couldn't conceive. And she talks about wanting to be a mother. And then she had a hysterectomy and wasn't sure if she would ever be able to be a parent.
Starting point is 00:46:21 She welcomed her first baby with her husband via surrogate. So congrats to her. Congrats, Lena. On to the next machine gun Kelly and Dakota Johnson might be a thing. How do you feel? You're a huge MGK stand. He's my number one Spotify. But is he like a celebrity crush?
Starting point is 00:46:34 I think so. But I'm sort of in the middle. I'm very jealous. I'm sexually attracted to him. I don't think he'd be a fun hang. Okay. No, shots fired. I don't, I just can't imagine him and I would like have so much fun together.
Starting point is 00:46:46 I just, I'm not, I don't know. You don't want to like suck each other's blood and stuff? Yeah. It's kind of like that. Yeah. Dakota Johnson is everywhere. And I was like, why is she, she's literally on the cover of everything. She's every, like, magazine.
Starting point is 00:46:57 And then I realized Verity comes out on October 2nd. So next week. week, Verity, next Friday. I'm so excited. I'm so sad. I can't go with you. I'm like devastated. I am, I am so sad. Shishonk wants to go for Anne Hathaway and Ann Hathaway only. And, you know, this is number one. So that will be our third Anne Hathaway movie that I've seen with him this year. I've seen an Anne Hathaway movie with him. How have I been to the three movies with my husband in a year all with Anne Hathaway? That's kind of wild. Because I'm not there anymore. I know. But Devil Wars Pradoo, Odyssey and then this, but we cannot
Starting point is 00:47:32 fucking wait. I'm just so excited. It looks so scary. It's Colleen Hoover Book. It's the second book I ever read. Okay, and lastly, Channing Tatum does not have a burner account, wink, wink. I'm obsessed with this story. So people discovered
Starting point is 00:47:48 this burner account, Nunya business. Business Nunya. Channing Tatum follows this burner. But also the burner account was trolling his exes and hyping him insane. So people took this and ran with it
Starting point is 00:48:03 and he has since come out and posted a public statement on his story that was like, yo, this isn't me, fucking hilarious you guys thought it was. I have better stuff to do with my time. Now we know it is you. Do you have better stuff that do with your time?
Starting point is 00:48:17 It's not your account. You accidentally followed it. Okay. We know you did it. But if it was a woman, she would have never done this by accident. But this is a man trying to, I have better things to do with my time.
Starting point is 00:48:28 Excuse is so funny. What's Traytonam down? Right. So it's crazy, though, you guys, because he's, like, trolling, like, what, Zoe Kravitz and, like, her new man and, like, Jen Dawan's new man. Like, it's all of the things that you would do. But, okay, I just want to say, I want to be real with you. Okay. Deep down in my heart of hearts, I guess it's not him.
Starting point is 00:48:48 But he knows what that account is up to and he supports it. So if there was an account that all they were doing was hyping me and trolling my exes, I might follow it too. And that's all I have to say. say. Either way, if it's not him, he's on board with it, and he didn't say he wasn't. So, let us know what you guys think in the comments. I'm good with either theory, but, like, he supports Nunya Business. Yes. Business. At least, like, because, like, when you go to Nunya Business and that you see that, like, he's in the follow, like, he's in the follow. He's a great strategy, by the way. Not us. I know. I think we could work on it. He follows, like, Hannah and Nikki and Maribath,
Starting point is 00:49:27 and he follows a lot of female comedians is what I noticed. Let's get in there. I liked. He falls like, 8,000 people. Oh my God. Yeah, it's not that hard to get a follow. He just just be tossing out follows. Do you think that that's misdirection? Do you think that he followed 8,000 people so that people would be like, wouldn't notice? He might be following other burner accounts.
Starting point is 00:49:41 I'm assuming he saw a comment that he liked of none your bidsness on like Harry Styles or Zoe or Jenna. I'm sure he saw that and he liked it and followed them because he does be given out follows like that. That's a fire roast. But all I have to say is Jenna Dewan is on Dancing with the Stars and Janet Tatum is trolling with a burner accounts. So women stay winning. Amen. All right. Well, that is your snack for the week, guys.
