Starting point is 00:00:01 This week on the snack, Heated Rivalry, Ashley Tisdale's toxic mom group, and so many TV and movie reviews. This is The Dear Media Production. Enjoy. Do you know how it is for you not to start with heated rivalry? It's all I care. It's all I care. No hi, no hello. Hi, guys.
Starting point is 00:00:24 I've been masturbating to gay porn for days. I haven't left the house. I don't think I've had this many orgasms in my life. Okay, I can't. You've got to keep it. And your pants for the first half of this. It's been out of my pants for days. You got to keep it in your sweatpants.
Starting point is 00:00:40 Are you dressed to eat today? Is that what you're doing? I'm in a crop top. I'm the opposite of dressed to eat. We're going to eat after this. Yeah, but you're like, no. This is not my eating outfit. We're eating.
Starting point is 00:00:50 Are we eating after that? Yeah, I just want to be cute and comfy. No, you look more prepared to eat than I do. That is like a hard pan. You look prepared to eat. And now I'm rethinking my jeans because we're about to go eat down. Literally. You could change.
Starting point is 00:01:03 I just have a sweatpants at the house. Anyway, we're going out with Emily after this. Well, you said that your New Year's resolution has gone more food adventures. And our friend Emily Fedner, Food Lover's Diary, she's in town. And I was like, who better to take us on a food adventure than Emily? Yeah, but you asked me, do you want to do Thai or Korean? And I was like, I could do either. And then we landed on Thai.
Starting point is 00:01:24 And then Emily posted last night that she's been to Thai town in four days in a row. And I'm like, she's going for a fifth. I said, we don't have to do this. And she was like, it's fine. And I was like, are you sure? And she was like, yeah, I'm happy with it. I was like, okay, sure. It's my favorite Thai town.
Starting point is 00:01:38 Okay. It's the only like Thai town in the country. Is it? Designated Thai town. Because like there is like a K-town. It was Korea town and New York and LA and all these other places. Obviously, China town. Of course.
Starting point is 00:01:49 A little Tokyo. But I was looking this up. I think it is the only one. Yeah. You did research. Anyway, I know. Here we go. My resolutions era.
Starting point is 00:01:57 Well, we have so much TV and movie content to cover. I mean, no one's left the house in weeks. Yeah. We did it. We committed. We have consumed all of the television. Yeah. We got to the end.
Starting point is 00:02:08 I got to the end to the point that I was watching step twice and like even my rewatches I'm done with. So I started the bear last night. I'm so happy. Remind me what you've seen. I just watched season one. You did watch season one. Okay. Let's thank our partners.
Starting point is 00:02:22 Okay. Thank you to Skims. Shop our favorite pros and underwear at skims.com. And thank you to Just Thrive. Get 20% off at Just Thrive Health with promo code GGE. Okay, we are going to kick it off with a Marty Supreme report. Get your orange out. I hear Nikki in my head, Nikki Glazer, at the Golden Gloves going,
Starting point is 00:02:41 Shelleb. Oh, that's not really on our list, but that is Sunday. Oh, cool. Yeah, so we can't wait for the Golden Globes. But we are going to kick it off with a Marty Supreme Report. We did see it. That will be the last part of the report, our reviews. But before that, let's talk about Timothy Shalame.
Starting point is 00:02:57 At the Critics Choice Awards. I mean, I really didn't watch it. because Chelsea Handler was hosting, and I don't like to look at her face. But you guys, you guys know, the Rowans now. It's not, it's not the build of her face. Her face is fine. Yeah, that's not a dig at her face.
Starting point is 00:03:13 Yeah, it's a dig at her personality. She started it. She started it. And I'm continuing it. So I only watched clips, but Timothy Shalami got up on stage. He won Best Actor and thanked my partner of three years. And I was like, who is his business?
Starting point is 00:03:31 I thought his business partner. I was like, surely he's not talking about Kylie. I didn't realize it. Okay, first of all, who is saying the years? Like, it's, was that just, like, is that a little pick me to say the years? Or did he know it would cause a stir? Like, why would you say the length of time? That was an interesting choice, I thought, unless he knew, no one knows it's been three years
Starting point is 00:03:55 and about to shake shit up. Okay, but then I look back at the timeline of their relationship and they were at the the Beyonce concert. I was just going to say this. of 2023, which is two and a half years ago, and they were first spotted like six months before that in January of 2023. I mean, this is well documented. It broke my brain. I was like, hold on. So they've been together longer than one, me and my husband. Two, Travis and Taylor. And then I, yes, I had the same thought. I was like, okay, let's run it back to the Renaissance
Starting point is 00:04:23 tour. We were there. It was September 4th, 2023. It was Beyonce's birthday show. And they were there in the same show as us. And it came out later. They were PDAing. I think that we were clocking it in 2023, but we didn't think it was going to last. So we weren't like, we didn't take it seriously. Like, yeah, I thought it was, I thought, I've always thought they've been cute, but we were like, no way.
Starting point is 00:04:43 I think it's just my brain won't accept that this was like a thing. It's like watching a giraffe drive a car. Like I just, I don't, I'm trying to think of like something I just can't envision happening. Really? You still feel like that. Yes, I look at this and I can't, I know I've seen it with my own eyes.
Starting point is 00:05:00 I just don't get. He's aging backwards. He, like, shaved. He looked like extra young at the Critic Shores Awards. He looked like he was 18. It's my mind can't compute it. She's like this really womanly, curvy mother of two. Like, I, and there's just this child next to her.
Starting point is 00:05:15 Okay. I mean, this is how I felt in 2023, but I've like fully into it now. And I really, you know, it's like once you start to really realize how much swag he has. How big is? How big is that dick he's slang in? Is that a thing? Or you just assume the energy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:31 It just makes sense to me. I have fully embraced them as a couple. But I think in 20203 we were like, oh, come on. So, but yeah, you're right. But I did not think January, 2023. I was like, oh, my gosh, I think we all had a record screech moment. Everybody. I thought when he said partner, I 100% gun into my head.
Starting point is 00:05:54 I thought he made my business partner. Do you think he just literally was like, watch this? Everyone's going to freak out about that. Like, everyone at the same collaboration. collective thought. What are you saying? You guys been together six months. I'm glad everybody had the same collective thought. It makes me feel so good when I'm just part of the mainstream. When he goes, now watch his drive. Do you know that George Bush clip? But he's like, yes. Shashonka's been doing this a lot. So there's this clip of George Bush,
Starting point is 00:06:15 and he's on the golf course. And he's talking about very serious topics, war, whatever. And then he goes, now watch his drive. And he just goes and hits the ball. And so Shajonka's been doing it at everything. You know, like I like to know, like what he's been walking around saying around the house. If he does not start walking around saying I'm coming to the cottage, I'll be so upset. All right, I'll tell you what he said. And I'm not going to deep dive fully today, but the other day he said, I'm kicking you out of Montauk. Because he's been watching Mormon. He's been in that Mormon wives.
Starting point is 00:06:47 I mean, I just, I just really, not to brag, I have the most perfect partner of three years. I like, the fact that we can watch Mormon wives and heated rivalry together, I don't know. I don't know a lot of men that would watch. I want to talk about this. Straight men watching. I just want him to walk around going, will you come to the cottage with me to come around? Instead, he's like, I don't know if we can have you in mom talk anymore.
Starting point is 00:07:13 Okay, so that is the first part of our Marty Supreme Report. The second part is that Meg Stalter and Paul Downs of hacks dressed up like Kylie and Timothy Shalome, their... Like it was Halloween. Their orange outfit that they wore in December. They both were orange. It was dumb and dumber core. There were so many memes about it.
Starting point is 00:07:32 it and they recreated the look exactly even down to the poses. Even down to the paddle that he wore like in the purse. I mean, it was just, it's, you don't really see that unless it's like, I mean, people will recreate looks from the red carpet 15, 20 years ago or on Halloween people will do this. This is the most brilliant thing I've ever seen. Like Meg Stalter just dominates a red carpet look, no matter. She's always doing a bit and she commits to the bit. And if I am, if I'm ever famous enough to be on these red carpets, I would do this.
Starting point is 00:08:04 This is so funny. Who would you dress like as? Trolling slash tribute. Like, I don't know. Whoever was like the most hot at the moment. Like I loved it. It was just weeks prior. And I was reading something from the stylist.
Starting point is 00:08:16 They did this in like two weeks. The stylist said I heard about this idea on Christmas Eve. Yeah. I mean, the outfits were like, six weeks ago. Like, it really took a minute to be like they had to pull this together quick. When I think of iconic couples' outfits, the first thing that comes to mind is Brady and Justin. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:34 I mean, someone did that recently, I thought. But this was incredible. Like, also, he's winning the award that night. I know. Unbelievable. And they're so funny. And he's one of the creators of hacks, Paul Downs. He's in hacks.
Starting point is 00:08:50 And he's in it. But they're like a team in hacks. They're like a management team. But he's one of the creators. I just, I was obsessed. I'm glad we got the opportunity to talk about it because it was my whole feed when Kylie and Timo did this. And we didn't get to talk about it. And lastly, the movie.
Starting point is 00:09:05 We went and saw it on Christmas with your mom. Yeah. Louisa tried to invite your dad. It was a real record screech moment. I felt bad. So I got to tell you guys. So our friend Louisa came to Christmas this year at Ashley's family's house. And you were on your way over to the house or something.
Starting point is 00:09:26 And I was having coffee with Louisa in your parents. parents. And I was like, I checked the movie times and I asked your mom, like, is this a theater that we would go to? And do you want to come with us? And your mom said, yes. Your dad was sitting next to your mom.
Starting point is 00:09:37 It never would have crossed my mind to invite him. I love him. I want to be around him all the time. But like, Louisa goes, Lee, would you like to come with us? And he goes, what?
Starting point is 00:09:48 Literally. Like, first of all, my dad likes movies. Him and my mom saw that song, sung blue, whatever, by the way. I wanted to give their review. They loved it on New Year's Eve.
Starting point is 00:09:58 Okay. Sing song blue, song, song, blue, something. Sounds great. They said they loved it. So he does go to the movies.
Starting point is 00:10:04 They usually go on the music. Sure. But I have never been in a movie theater with my dad. Okay. Have you hardly have? Well, my parents were divorced and my dad actually took us. Would take you to the movies.
Starting point is 00:10:14 Always. Every weekend. I don't think I've ever been. Like, I remember every Disney movie I saw. My dad was nowhere to be found. I'll tell you, the last movie I saw with my dad,
Starting point is 00:10:23 because it is burned into my memory. It's the Wolf of Wall Street. And it opens with him getting his dick sucked in the car. In the theater. And I was like, I will never see another movie with him again. We're in the theater or at home? We don't watch movies at home together. You went to the theater and used a whole full Wall Street on the big screen with your dad.
Starting point is 00:10:40 No, I'd have to move another row. I wouldn't have to move seats. I wish I would have moved another row. The first, I went to Titanic with them too with my brother and my dad. My brother must have been six. And I think it was the first time we ever saw boobs. And he was mesmerized. And I was just like, I also will not sit with you for movies anymore.
Starting point is 00:10:57 Oh, my Titanic is a wonderful. Horny too. Really horny. So anyways, she invited your, it's not even just that. I could, all five of us are going to get into the car together. I'm going to middle seat it with your mom in the back. So hilarious. So we got there and I will say we were like a minute late and I was panicked.
Starting point is 00:11:18 Because there was not 30 minutes of previews. There was 20. You had to get a wah-wah sub. But like whatever. We had to go to the theater. It was like 20 minutes away from my parents' house. And the thought that I could have missed something. and I like won't get it back and I won't know.
Starting point is 00:11:31 And like, Raina, I'm telling you, the fact that we walked in that theater and it had started, I really started to panic. I started to Google what happens at the beginning of Marty Supreme and I couldn't get service. And then the credits came on and I breathed the sigh relief of like, we haven't missed much. Okay. So we waited a while off for my rap for so long and I could feel the tension. And I was like, let's just go. And I like almost left over the counter and they finally called my number.
Starting point is 00:11:55 And I was like, let's go. And then it was tense in the car. Because my mom had said we need to leave earlier than this. And we're like, whenever, Cindy, there's 20 minutes, 30 minutes of preview. Yeah. And she was like, I'm going to be chill. Anyway, we loved it until the very last scene. I don't often feel like completely engrossed and entertained for two and a half hours of anything.
Starting point is 00:12:17 And I felt that way. I think the first half was stronger than the second half. But it was all over the place. And I was entertained until the end. I really felt entertained. This was like, I love a sports movie. Like, I love, like, failure is not an option. Win at all costs.
Starting point is 00:12:35 I'm going to give up everything, do everything to, like, reach this pinnacle. And that's the character. And it was so chaotic. And he just, you know, he's a different moral compass than the average person. I mean, he's just, like, very me-centered. And all he wants to do is win. And, like, he'll sleep with somebody's wife. He'll steal.
Starting point is 00:12:51 His baby mama, he'll have an affair with somebody. That girl got shot in the car. He just dropped her off at the hospital and just left and went. And then this all, this is like a, you know, a failure is no option type movie and it ends. So I want to say, spoiler. Yeah, sorry, spoiler alert. Spoiler, if you haven't seen it. Pass forward.
Starting point is 00:13:08 Okay, I've given you enough time because that one time I ruined succession. I'll never forget it. No one else will either. If you were mad of me. And then it ends with him in a hospital having this baby and he's like watching his baby and he's crying and it's the sense that like he finally has this family that he never had before. But like that's not the, I hate to be all like serious about it, but that's not the character. Yeah, like immediately I was like, what in the family building propaganda is this?
Starting point is 00:13:33 Yeah, that's the first thing you said to me. I was like, did big baby make this? Yes. Just like, and whatever, yes, we're child free by choice. We don't want kids. And I can appreciate a family moment. I think it's beautiful that you would see a child that you're bringing into the world or the partner that you want to be with and reframe how you view life.
Starting point is 00:13:55 but it wasn't what we'd had from him up until that point. So it felt like a complete 180. And no, I wouldn't say we were, I don't know. He's kind of an anti-hero. You're sort of rooting for him, but not really. He's not a great guy. I didn't need that like about face at the end. And then I heard someone say like, well, he was crying because he really was like his career was over.
Starting point is 00:14:15 I was like, uh. Wait, I like that take. That's not the case, but I would love it if that was the kid. Yeah. I really just, I feel insulted as a viewer when you try. to sell me a story that is different than the story you just sold me for two and a half hours. It's just, that's not the character.
Starting point is 00:14:30 And I don't, I like the use of anti-hero. I mean, I don't have a problem rooting for somebody that I don't particularly think is a good person. Mad Men and the Sopranos are my favorite shows. Those are bad people, objectively bad people. I don't mind that. I just, the movie should have ended to me in Japan. He didn't need, like, they didn't need to make this statement.
Starting point is 00:14:49 Yeah, I mean, but it's like, we aren't anti-family, like, I don't know. It's like, it was a nice, And there was like growth, but it happened too immediate. And that's why I was like, this is propaganda. But I like that. This Esquire article is explaining and debating the very divisive ending of Marty Supreme. And these two editors debate the final moments of Josh Softie's new flick, who also on conjoms.
Starting point is 00:15:11 And I just like one quote from the, from Henry Wong at the very end. He's speaking to the other critic on what he had said prior, which you can kind of read between the lines. But he says, I like your read on Marty finally standing still, though I think that is my problem with the later stages of the same. film. I just wanted it to keep running and running. Also, him finally caring about someone else. I don't mind growth for a character saying, but I so enjoyed this rather unattractive creation conveyed so attractively that I thought his personality makeover at the very end was a little soppy. In the pantheon of great movie ending starring Salome, this was some way short of Call Me By Your Name. And he says, but for what it's worth, I think they had an alternate ending that they didn't have time to film.
Starting point is 00:15:48 And it was going to like flash forward to a bunch of scenes later in his life. Anyway, it sounded horrible what they originally said they were going to do. But that's how I felt. It just felt like a little lazy and unrealistic. Yeah. But I get it. I like, he cares about someone other than himself. I get it. And I can appreciate it. But maybe it's just this like, I don't know, cynical more side of me that was like, that's not who he is. And like, let's, this isn't who we've seen for the last two and a half hours. Yeah, we didn't need to, we just didn't need that last scene. I also, I didn't need to like put a period on the end of that storyline of did she have the baby. Does he go back to claim the baby?
Starting point is 00:16:24 I wasn't like, but what happened? Like, give me an end of the storyline of the orange ping pong balls. The whole orange theme and the balls were in the movie for five seconds and they got thrown out the window and literally that was the end of them. That's the end of it. So I will say though, I always say I, of course I want a happy-ish, I don't want a movie that completely ruins my life and leaves me feeling really upset. in fucking Manchester by the city. Don't get me started. But like that's just sad for the sake of being sad and whatever. But I just think people need a happy ending so badly.
Starting point is 00:16:56 And like this is such an American trait. And I've talked to before about movies that they showed to test audiences. I think the breakup is one of them where people hated if it didn't end happily. And I think the breakup was that one where they had to, they redid the ending to have them give people hope at the end. They run into each other on the street. It didn't originally end like that. That's just like one example I have.
Starting point is 00:17:14 But I've always heard that like Americans need a happy. ending to like a movie so they like couldn't have just ended it because people would have been like where's the baby but like to me him winning that tournament is that the movie could have just ended I 100% I wasn't like but what about that girl I don't care 100% like when he falls to his knees I think right at the end when he's beaten that guy at the way that went down and like you want to see the real shit like end it there I would have been like wow yeah that's the end of the movie and the baby's fine you're supposed to think the baby's fine he dropped it off at the hospital It's fine.
Starting point is 00:17:48 Fran Drescher is going to go hang out with the baby. But we really liked it. And it's been mixed reviews. I've seen a lot of bad reviews. I think people, a lot of people thought it was very chaotic. I didn't mind it. Like I like these kind of like,
Starting point is 00:18:00 I mean, Anora is one of my favorite movies. And that's just like a crazy chaos chase for half the movie. And it's my favorite thing. Yeah. I just love watching him act. I loved that character. I think that's probably not that far from who he is in real life.
Starting point is 00:18:15 That just really cocky. energy. It was fun to watch. That's how you get Kylie Jenner. Yeah, exactly. So that is one of the movies that we saw. We went all the way off. I went even further. You did. You saw three movies in like 10 days. I saw four. Okay. That's a lot. So should we start, we should do chronological order. We did see the house made the night that it came out. I always have to preface it being like, I hate to be this person. The book was better. But like, I liked the movie. Amanda Seafreed was unbelievable. Brendan Sclanar. My list was acting up. It was fantastic. City Sweeney. Can we stop? Jesus Christ. I mean, can we stop casting her in everything? Listen, you guys know I'm not a
Starting point is 00:19:02 fan of hers and, you know, her politics and just, you know, who she is as a person. So this isn't that, I think she's such a bad actor. And she's such a great actor and euphoric. And she's such a great actor in euphoria and that's the lane she has. It doesn't translate. It's like it's the tone and it's all I really don't appreciate her as an actor and this movie is so glaring because there's a lot of these parts that her and Amanda Seifred are in the same scenario so they have like the same emotions and things to act out and you watch it done so differently and they're different people and they should be. They're different characters. But I the acting you're just like it really holds a mirror up and I just don't find her to be a good actor so that took away from the movie
Starting point is 00:19:51 for me but I really did like it and I liked the book but I didn't the book is not the most brilliant book I've ever read either so I didn't go into it like I hope they don't ruin the book for me yeah it's not that deep it's but I they change one thing from the book we'll just say this and spoil you can just fast forward ahead but it's not there's a part in the book where Sydney Sweeney's character is kind of being tortured, and they changed something in the movie. And I don't know why they did it, and it felt so unnecessarily gory.
Starting point is 00:20:24 Like really violent and was done really well in the book. I don't know why they changed it. It felt like weirdly, like, gratuitous. Like, we were, like, shielding our eyes because of the blood. Uh-huh. And I didn't understand it. And then that made it a little unrealistic, like, what she was doing, you'd, like, you'd bleed out, you know.
Starting point is 00:20:42 And it's, in the book, it's fine. He kind of tortures are in a different way that's more palatable. Yeah. So we didn't get that choice. And then the ending is kind of different the way he dies. I don't know. It was, I enjoyed it overall. And it's like kind of campy, like, you laugh sometimes.
Starting point is 00:21:02 Like, I read a review that said, this is the perfect movie to see in a theater with, like, a bunch of people around. And, like, maybe the critic in this piece said they wouldn't have enjoyed it so much at home alone. It was fun to see in the theater. I prefer most movies in a theater. I just, I like it. I'm going with like seven girlfriends or something. It was like really fun. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:19 I like it. I would see it. Yeah. It was fun to see it with all people who hadn't read the book. So they didn't know what the fuck was coming. And like, I was sitting next to Louisa and I would just hear her go, what the fuck? And I'm like, that's exactly it. When you're reading that book, you're like, what the fuck?
Starting point is 00:21:34 Would you rather be blissfully ignorant and not have read the book? I think both are great experiences. You're just going to be so shocked no matter what you do. so I guess I'd prefer the reading experience. But how fun for them to be like, wait, what? I like going backwards a lot too. Like I watched Tell Me Lies and then I bought the book. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:52 I watched Heated Ravory now. I bought the book. It's on backwards. You do do this a lot. Yeah. But I mean, if I really like something and I miss it, I miss Tell Me Lies, like so deeply, I miss these characters. I'm like, I got to get the book.
Starting point is 00:22:02 That's how I was with normal people and I hated the book. I know. You told me that you hated it. And I read a couple chapters. Then I stopped. Okay. So then after that, you saw a movie at 9-A. I am.
Starting point is 00:22:12 Jeremy and I went to see this movie called Rental Family. It's Brendan Frazier. He's an actor, like an aging actor in Tokyo, and he goes to work for this company that simulates emotional experiences for people. So, for example, this woman has an aging father who was once a very famous actor, and he thinks the whole world has forgotten about him. And so she hires Brendan Frazier as a writer to write her father's life story so that her father can die feeling like he meant something to the world.
Starting point is 00:22:38 And it's just, it's this beautiful story about like what human. need emotionally. I've never seen anything like it before. I didn't see this like heavily advertised. But it's just, it's a great watch. If you guys even can just grab it on Amazon, it's really really so good. Okay. Okay. I love that. And then we saw is this thing on, which is Bradley Cooper directed, produced. He's in it. And he's also in it. And Will Arnette and Laura Dern and they're going through a separation. He starts doing stand-up comedy in New York. And it takes place at the comedy seller, which we've, it's like that. It is a comedy seller. It is a comedy but it's not, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:23:13 As comics, we saw it with Britney too. We had some issues with the misrepresentation of the open mic scene anywhere. But that's fine. It's like a movie and that's what it is. The friendly, happy, just stage time of it all in New York. Yeah, ha ha. So anyway, there's some, but it's a movie.
Starting point is 00:23:30 So I liked it. I thought it was a little slow. And if we're talking Bradley Cooper movies, it was more Silver Linings playbook than a Star is Born. I didn't think it was going to be a Star is born. I didn't think it was going to be a stars born. I didn't think that he was going to do stand-up and then turn into Dave Chappelle.
Starting point is 00:23:45 I didn't expect that, but it was certainly more about the marriage than the stand-up. I thought there would be more stand-up. Yeah. And it was more about the marriage, which I guess is probably more related. You and I want there to be more stand-up.
Starting point is 00:23:56 Yeah. But I think more people want relationship. It was enjoyable. Yeah, I liked it. It was a little slow. Yeah. But I wasn't like, oh, God. You know, he just starts doing open mics
Starting point is 00:24:07 at the most famous comedy club in the world and then they just pass him. I mean, it's so crazy. It's so crazy. People work their whole lives to get passed at the comedy seller. No, that part is so unrealistic. And again, this is just like us, like niche comic talk. But we were just like, oh, come on, you know.
Starting point is 00:24:28 And he's laying down in the booth. The booker's there. We're like, oh, my God. He's been on stage for four minutes in his life. One time I sat at the comics table at the comedy cellar, people were mad. And I'd never even done a live show yet. I wasn't even pretending to be a comedian.
Starting point is 00:24:42 You were just there with friends. I stopped in to say hi to Emma Willman, who had just been on our show. And I was just saying people did not like that. Yeah. And it's, again, it's like, it's set of the comedy seller, but I don't think it's,
Starting point is 00:24:53 it's certainly there's parts that are not accurate, but I love that it's set there. It's so cool. Yeah, it's really cool. Like, we loved crashing, which was a more realistic and bleak depiction of stand-up in New York. I mean, whatever.
Starting point is 00:25:07 There's also highs, they're highs and lows. But this was, you know, it's good, you know. Bradley Cooper's character is a hot mess. It's very funny. Like real comedic relief here. Yeah, it's good. So those are the movies we're watching. Those are the movies.
Starting point is 00:25:20 Okay, let's take a quick break and then we'll talk about the topic, Rana. Thank God. Just bombing at the mouth. All right. Skims, it's my favorite underwear. It's my favorite bras. It's my favorite pajamas. I wore the pajamas to sleep last night.
Starting point is 00:25:33 I'm wearing the bra right now. So my favorite thing is that fits everybody t-shirt bra. and I had obviously a breast reduction and I lost some weight and I needed to like get all new bras. And like the first thing I thought of was the fits everybody t-shirt bra. And I sleep in it every night. So I find it like really comfortable no matter what I'm doing. Like it just feels like you're not really wearing a bra. So only bra I've ever gotten home and been like, I can't want to rip this off of my body.
Starting point is 00:25:54 And it comes in tons of colors. I have it in different shades of nude. I have it in brown shades like a cocoa brown. I have it in black. And they just have so much for everybody. And tons and tons of sun. sizes. I love their cotton jersey full briefs. I walk around the house a lot in their boxers all the time. Starting point is 00:28:20 So Emily and Paris, she was in Rome for the first half of the season. This might have been my favorite season so far. I really enjoyed it. You know, everyone is just like, what is up with Arisa? Now she's working in Italy, too? Like, what is going on? She's like, whatever I'm doing, I'm not coming back to America. And she met this American guy, which I actually really liked.
Starting point is 00:28:37 He used to be on maybe One Tree Hill. I recognized him. And he works for the U.S. Embassy. So I'm keeping in your back pocket, girl. What is going on with it? How are you still there? How's the show Emily and Paris when she's in Italy? But I'm saying she's back in Paris.
Starting point is 00:28:50 But she was working in Italy. Like, what is going on with your situation? Are you there legally? Is she working fashion? God damn, right. I think she works in fashion in my mind. She is fashion. She is fashion.
Starting point is 00:29:02 The outfits are part of the way you watch. And they changed her aesthetic when she went to Rome, which I didn't, I like her in Paris better, her looks. Compare them. Personally. I don't know. It's just a lot more, a little more buttoned up, more prints. Yeah. I don't know how to describe it.
Starting point is 00:29:18 It was just different. Parisian fashion versus Italian fashion. I'm not a fashion expert. I really enjoyed this season. The TLDR for me is just we need fresh meat for Emily. I cannot do another season with Gabrielle. I just, I like him as a friend, not as a lover. Marcello, who she was with.
Starting point is 00:29:34 They broke up, thank God. He was like so boring, so mid. And then Alfie, who is the hottest man of the show and the spiciest and the sexiest and the most fun. He is now has a thing going on with Mindy, like her best friend, which I love that. So as much as I love Alfie, I want him for Mindy and I want fresh meat for Emily. All right. That's really my take. Stranger Things, I'm not like a, we don't watch it.
Starting point is 00:29:58 I watch the first season. You do. And Shishonk watched the finale. and I was there in and out of sleep. I was like it was New Year's Day. So I did catch the end of it. And I got a little emotional from someone who's just watched the, you know, because Mike and 11,
Starting point is 00:30:12 Millie Bobby Brown, like I still could appreciate the ending. And I was crying. And anyway, all these conspiracy theories that the show is not over. So everyone is saying there's more. I can see a world in which they make a movie. Why wouldn't they? It's such a successful franchise.
Starting point is 00:30:31 as we record, this will be over, but people were saying something was going to happen on the seventh. So that will have been yesterday. And the Duffer brothers are like, we're done, you guys, this is it. And there's so many. There's like, Shashanka's in these TikTok holes of like what's coming next. Like, it's not really over and she's still alive and Mike was right. I don't know. There's all these theories. So anyway, it's just really taking over the internet, these fan theories. And we'll see. Watch the space. Yeah, watch this space. Okay. Raina. It's just literally like about to slide off our seat. I care so much.
Starting point is 00:31:05 This show like did something to me and I actually like, I sort of avoided this show. Everybody's just like, it's this gay hockey show. And I kind of was like, I don't care about this sports show. Okay. Can I say we had so many people in our DMs
Starting point is 00:31:21 telling us to watch this and I trust you guys. Like I wasn't avoiding it. I was just like, I'm going to watch it because I really trust you guys. and you know us and you know what we like. And I don't think I've ever gotten more DMs and like, when the fuck are you girls gonna watch this? Yes.
Starting point is 00:31:36 Yes, anyway. The most. We did. So it's six episodes based on a book series. It is about these two guys who meet their rookie season and they carry on this sort of gay love affair. And I don't know that I was so hooked to episodes in. I don't think I realized,
Starting point is 00:31:51 I mean, I just was like, these are these two guys that are having sex. Like, I just thought it was going to continue to just be like really pornographic, which I loved. It was hornyer the first two episodes, and I watched them and took a break. I didn't feel so compelled to turn it back on. Then you told me you have to get back into it. And then Shishon sent me an puberty meme or something that said that episode five was the highest rated TV episode in history or something. And so I was like, we got to get into this.
Starting point is 00:32:21 And then someone else was like, just FYI, the third episode is about a different couple. And I was like, oh, whatever. And then I loved it more than anything. and I'm obsessed with that storyline. I'm like a Scott Hunter Stan. Like that is the hottest man alive. I don't want to go back to other couple. I was like, I couldn't wait for it to go back to the other couple.
Starting point is 00:32:38 This is like so more Raina's friend or more Ashley's friend. I love the show completely and we'll talk about it. But when they brought in the Scott Hunter storyline, partially because he's the hottest man alive. And in our household, we both agree. Shishonk was like, don't look at that guy. But something about that with, it just felt more relatable. They weren't pro-athlet.
Starting point is 00:32:58 it's like on the ice. Like they met in a smoothie shop and the flirting. Like I was just like, oh my, I was right. I was just like obsessing over their every interaction. It's so, like you were just like give me. You like a secure attachment style. Okay.
Starting point is 00:33:14 That's because they met and they fell in love and you knew they were just going to end up together. And these other guys made you wait six episodes to see if they were going to be together. But they didn't. It was really heartbreaking. And you could feel him being like, I want to be out, but I can't. And I don't think I can. And there was this heartbreak. And okay.
Starting point is 00:33:33 Anyway, I have more to say about why we a straight women love this so much. But yeah, I mean, I think that's the most think pieces I've read. It's just like, yes, it made me so horny. That didn't surprise me, by the way. I've always liked gay male porn. I don't, that's not a shock to me. Like, probably my least favorite porn is straight porn. Because I've always said it just doesn't, it doesn't ever look that pleasurable to the woman to me.
Starting point is 00:33:55 Like, I always just see these women getting like jackhammer. in straight male-on-female porn, and it's just not really my favorite porn. So I've always liked gay porn of two women, two men, whatever. But it really turns into this, like, unbelievable love story, and it makes you really think about how many people in the world are really, like, can't come out, and they have to live a life like this,
Starting point is 00:34:18 and they really, like, fought against us for so many years. And I didn't even think this was, like, a will-they-won't-day. I don't know. I really even, like, thought. I just loved watching the dynamic of, both of them kind of like fight back against who they were and are they going to be together. And that episode five and six are two of my favorite episodes of television of anything I've ever watched because you do the first couple episodes, it is just a lot of sex.
Starting point is 00:34:42 You really see like their actual like romantic love stories start to develop. Yeah. It's like even the end of episode two. He's a dick to him. It made me feel sad. Yeah. And I thought that dynamic was going to continue. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:54 I will say, I guess the thing I couldn't really get a handle on was. was like, were they just like they would hook up casually every season? Like it went really fast. It moved really fast. And it was like, you'd see them texting and flirting. But I'm like, but are they fucking? I couldn't seem to keep up. Like, this one from like 2008 to 2017.
Starting point is 00:35:13 So every season were we supposed to assume that they just like hook up a couple times? Yeah. Okay. And then they flirt and stuff like that. That's it. Yeah. Like I feel like I couldn't really get a handle on it. Elia is supposed to be.
Starting point is 00:35:23 He's bisexual. He's with women. He's with that girl's vet laun on and off for years. And then Shane just seems. to be like only focused on work. He's just like really solid relationship with his parents, but like sort of out in terms of being in a relationship at all. Yeah. Yeah, I loved all of it.
Starting point is 00:35:40 Again, I just, the first two episodes were the weakest for me. And then it was just a rocket ship. Like, we couldn't stop. We watched all four hours last night straight. And then you get into Shane having a relationship with this famous actress and then the jealousy. And I think Ilius family dynamic is one of the most fascinating pieces of it all.
Starting point is 00:36:01 And I think a lot of people had the same collective thought, maybe especially after watching the first or second episode of like, okay, how many pro athletes are in the closet? And then episode three, they're like all of them. Everyone. All of them. Like the whole Scott Hunter storylines. It goes all the way up to the top.
Starting point is 00:36:16 But it's, they're just statistically all the men that play in the pro sports world, all of the sports, like how many are in the closet so many. statistically just by like, I guess you could think of more like sports as being more masculine, therefore being more straight if you want to make that connection. But I don't necessarily think that. And I guess like if there's a thousand men, a thousand men that play sports, maybe may skew a little more straight. But like I'm just saying statistically how many pro athletes are in the closet and like
Starting point is 00:36:48 having these types of situations. And then the moment when Scott Hunter came out, right, I was like jumping up and down. Like I was like, if he comes out right now and he brings him down on the ice, It's going to feel so unrealistic and it's, I'm not going to like it. And then it just worked. It was perfect. And then he was like giving a speech about it. He's this amazing speaker.
Starting point is 00:37:05 Like I literally was like this moment. That's the second book. You should buy the book. It's the whole second book is their love story. I'm not like you, Raina. I love the show and I don't need to read the book. This is my normal people. Literally, I'm going to, this is where I stop.
Starting point is 00:37:17 It ends with the show. I do wonder, I mean, you could say there's this population of people and X percentage of any amount of people is gay. But I do think some people who are homosexual have weeded themselves out of this because they don't want to live like this. And they don't want to, they don't want to go all the way to the top, pretending that they are something that they're not. So I do think that there's a portion of people that just sort of weed themselves out of these environments because it feels toxic and not natural to them. But you're supposed to, like, again, this is just culturally, societally. I think these men worry,
Starting point is 00:37:46 like, I'm supposed to put off a different type of image and what, now I've got people trash talking me on the field or on the court about me being gay. Like, I think there's like a whole thing of like, I can't possibly come out. And so I think this moment, I think the best moment of the show is when Scott Hunter comes out and he says I'm coming to the cottage, right? I mean, it's just like, you feel that they're like. No, that's not my favorite moment.
Starting point is 00:38:08 Okay. I just was like, it's, I don't know. When he says I'm coming to the cottage and the episode ends. And it's just, my favorite moment of the show is when Shane says, why don't you tell me how you feel in Russian. And he gives that speech and he's just like alone in the winter outside. And his father has died. and he's just like, everybody hates me.
Starting point is 00:38:26 I've paid for everything. I can't tell anybody who I am. And like the worst part is I just like want you. And it's always been you and I love you. Oh my God. Stop. I was like, I watched it over and over. It's so beautiful.
Starting point is 00:38:39 It's just this person fighting so hard against what he wants. Like I can't imagine a feeling like that. I think about it all the time. I think about all the time. I think about what it would feel like every day to pretend that I wanted to date women every single day. that I had to fight against. Listen, I think women are beautiful.
Starting point is 00:38:56 I slept with women. I don't feel romantically inclined to date women. And if that was the social norm and I had to do that every day, I mean, mentally, I'd be more stable probably. I can't imagine every day fighting against it. And to live in Russia and to be, you know, you could be punished and imprisoned. You know, it just, God, it was so beautiful. I know.
Starting point is 00:39:17 Like, I truly was like, I don't know, I'm more into this other storyline. And then I totally like changed my tune. and I loved all of it. And, you know, like Rain and I were saying, there's a lot of straight women that love this so much. And one of our friends told us, she was like, I've watched this twice, and I don't really watch TV.
Starting point is 00:39:33 And I was like, I'd only seen the first two episodes. And I'm like, okay, she's just, she'll have gay porn. And now I get it. And so many women have said this. And there's different parts of it. Of course, being turned on by it is one thing. And there's this escapism. But I think that's like the type of men
Starting point is 00:39:51 that this is like a super masculine men. Like if you're a straight woman and you like masculinity, which I do, you're like, this is not what I'm used to seeing gay men depicted as typically in the media. I know there's been a few different movies and I never watched Brokeback Mountain for an example. So I guess that's kind of what that is. I can't really speak on it. But I think we're not used to seeing men that read straight, that read masculine, that I don't know if that's part of it. like am I so into that Scott Hunter storyline
Starting point is 00:40:21 because I'm so attracted to him. And so I'm like, I just like watching this, even though it's not straight. I think there's so many theories about it. I watched, I think it was a TikTok. I'm sure it was. I'm sure it wasn't an article that I read. This girl was talking about how like,
Starting point is 00:40:36 women don't have to watch themselves be depicted in a show and how nice is it to not be like... The escapism. Yes, the escapism of it that like... I think sometimes we overrelate to characters and we think about the situation that we've been in, we've been treated poorly and somebody has ghosted us or strung us along and like,
Starting point is 00:40:53 I'm not a part of this storyline. The women are all side characters. There's only two real women in the story and it's the women that the two men came out to. It's at Lana for Ilya and Rose, the actress for Shane. But like, women aren't really in this. And so like you don't have to watch a woman get treated like shit and strung along. And it's just like, we're not a part of it. Wait, I love that take.
Starting point is 00:41:14 It's so true. Like you're like, this is relatable. We all text and sexed and get ghosted and feel bad and fall for people, but like it's not of our business. Like, this is the boys doing this and you get to just watch from the sidelines. That's really interesting. I wish I'd come up with it originally. I want to talk about straight men watching this. Okay.
Starting point is 00:41:33 So, by the way, the creator, Jacob Tierney, is like a director showrunner for two shows that are Shishonk's favorite shows. Letter Kenny and Shoresi. These are Canadian shows. Oh, yeah, because this show was a Canadian show. And those are hockey shows, by the way. So he knew it was a gay show, but he kept joking. This is like the spinoff of Letterkenny. So he was like, I'm interested in it because of that.
Starting point is 00:41:54 I love Jacob Tierney and I want to watch this. And he's not like, he's not turned on and he's not super into the love scenes. Like he's a super straight guy. He's not like, ooh, blah. And he's like turning away. But he's not really into them. But he loved this show so much. Who wouldn't?
Starting point is 00:42:12 I just, I didn't know. I do think an evolved, secure. can watch a man suck another man's dick. And by the way, you never see a penis in this whole show to my chagrin. It's pretty upsetting, but like it's implied oral and implied anal, but like you don't actually see any body parts at all. So yeah, I had this, I said to him, I'm like, a man, a straight man watching this is a real indicator of how secure he is in himself and in his masculinity and in his sexuality.
Starting point is 00:42:44 I don't mean to say that a man that wouldn't like this is insecure though. Like, I don't know. I don't think my brother would be into this. And I think that's like the most secure person. Like, I don't know. I'm thinking of different guys and like, would they like this and appreciate this? Andrew Collin and Brenna were watching it. Andrew Collin is the most.
Starting point is 00:43:02 This is who I am. Secure dude. She said they were both hard. Yeah. So I've just, at first I was like, if you can't handle this as a man, you're insecure. And I don't actually think that. Like, I just think it wouldn't be for every. everybody. Yeah, I don't think it would be for everybody. It's a lot of hypersexuality. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:43:18 I thought I was going to learn one thing about hockey. I did not. Did you learn one thing about hockey? Not at all. At the very end, I ask, I don't know my thing about hockey. I was like, okay, so is hockey, like, is there like one main star player, like a Jalen Hertz? Or is it, like, kind of the whole team? And, like, I was asking the dumbest fucking questions. Like, I don't know any, like, I don't know any, like, I don't know ball. But I don't, like, I grew up in Pittsburgh, It's a big hockey town. We had Merrill Lemieux, who was like one of the most famous hockey players of all time. And that is the only hockey player I can name.
Starting point is 00:43:48 Like, I thought maybe this show would do for hockey what like Taylor Swift did for football. But like I'm not going to start watching. I didn't learn one thing about hockey. I never learned anything. I watched the whole season of stick. I still don't know one thing about golf. I don't know ball. But I do think hockey is the most insane sport.
Starting point is 00:44:07 You're ice skating with sticks and you have to get a puck into an ass. and there's someone guarding the net. I'm sorry. Like, as someone who, like, can barely ice skate, it's the wildest sport. Like, it is, it looks like the hardest sport to me. Have you been watching these videos?
Starting point is 00:44:20 I don't get served anything besides heated rivalry, TikTok. Now they're doing all these, like, video roundups of, like, them acting sexual on the ice and just how they stretch on the ice. And they're, like, humping the ice. Yeah. It's so sexual-looking.
Starting point is 00:44:34 It really is. Like, who knew with all those pads? It could still be horny. Oh, I'm so horny for the show. Okay, I have one missed moment. one thing I would have liked to see that would have just completely gutted me in the best way. I would have loved to see at the very end. I'm not going to say it ended abruptly, but a little bit.
Starting point is 00:44:51 All of a sudden I was like, oh, it's over. I would have loved to see Shane's mom hug, Elia. Because A, she hated him too. That was like her son's rival and she was such a hockey mom. But B, because of him losing his mom and have just like not having that type of family. So again, this is almost contradictory to me. needing the happy ending and stuff with like the family. But I would have loved that because he like clearly doesn't have a real family.
Starting point is 00:45:17 And I would have just like to see at the end, they're just like, thanks for the pasta. And they just have this nice moment. And the family's coming over to see them later. And they're like, do you make sure to text because we be fucking, you know. But I don't know. I think I would have liked to see the mom hug, Ilya. I think that would have been a nice moment. Okay.
Starting point is 00:45:32 Thanks. Elia is just my favorite. He's so funny. By the way, he, I think he's from, where is he from? I mean, he's from America. I think she's from Texas. I may have made it. up, but he does not. On our story, he's not Russian. Like the accent. No, he learned Russian from the movie.
Starting point is 00:45:46 Unbelievable. Unbelievable. He's so funny. I'm not blushing. Russians don't do that. Rina, like, there was a part where I was like, I love this show, but the dialogue of all they do is he calls him boring and he calls him an asshole. It's, I think boring and asshole must be a hundred times an episode. It's my favorite. He's like, did you get your looks from your mom and you're boring from your daddy? I mean, I can't get enough of him. I just, I watch like roundups of him just saying stuff on this show. It's hilarious. He's a hilarious character. I'm watching people do stuffed animals with like the voices. Have I sent you one of these? No. It's just it's the whole thing and the, um, will you come to my cottage is sorry? And it's all of these like little stuffed
Starting point is 00:46:24 animals acting it out. Oh, when he says it when he's in the hospital bed? Yes. Okay, that's what people were saying? Because he's like all drugged up. He's all drugged up and they have like an octopus and a bear acting it out together and it just goes back and forth. I mean, you guys got to get into this content. It's my favorite. The way I was feeling, I know this, you can't relate to. I. I know this. You can't relate to this, but the way I was feeling during episode three, I was like holding Shashog's hand. Like, I just, I've never been so engrossed. Like, I'm so obsessed with these people, like, where their stories are going to end. I just, see, episode three, I was like, can we get back? Can we get out of this? I'm so bored of this. But the way, so you, like you said, I think you,
Starting point is 00:47:05 did you say this earlier? Last night, I texted you, they're going to tie this in beautifully. No, it's a different book. Maybe. Did you say that a few? minutes ago. So it's a different book. And the way they tied this in with him coming out. And then it's like giving them permission to be more open with their sexuality. I'm coming to the cottage. I mean, it's amazing. It was amazing. It's just I can't get enough of the show. I watched it twice. I'll probably watch it a third time. I can't, I can't. This is the most I've masturbated to a show. Okay. So you are masturbating. Hell yeah. Well, I'm alone watching it. I'm asked you to do this more than hunting wives. I mean. Really? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:35 This, I think this is like a big reveal. How much you love gay porn. I just, I'm not, it's not my first. porn category. I'm not looking for it. But like, I didn't realize how much I liked it. So do you want to talk about what you don't like? This was so funny. Because nobody gets offended by this. I don't think they will.
Starting point is 00:47:59 I watched a lot of gay porn in this show. Like, a lot of guys, like, blow each other a lot. And in episode three, when Scott picks up the smoothie guy and he's carrying them across the room, and I took a photo of it. I was like, Ashley, this is so much gayer than watching two guys blow each other. And you were like, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:48:20 And then I was talking to Brenna yesterday. And she was like, do you feel like when he picked him up and carried him across the room? She literally said the same line, it's gayer than watching them stock each other's dicks. And I was like, it did feel gayer. Here's the thing. We do not want to see men getting picked up. Like, I've seen stuff of women picking men up and I can't, like, handle. I have like a visceral reaction.
Starting point is 00:48:41 Like, there's something about it. It's, of course, we support the homoeroticism of it all. Like, we love the dick sucking, like, the anal, all the things. Like, we're down with that. But there's something about picking a man up and putting him on the counter. I can't. I love watching them pal around and make fun of each other and obviously have sex. But there's this other scene where, like, Shane goes to Ilya's room and he's like,
Starting point is 00:49:02 you feel it too. I know you feel it. And then Ilya's talking about his father dying, I think. And Shane mounts him and is like hugging. No, stop. I'm like, act like a football captain. There's these hockey. I'm like just act like you're the captain of this team, okay?
Starting point is 00:49:19 The way you're moving is that's how I hang on people. Like I want to watch it with me, like for me to watch it with my husband. Like there was moments where we were like, like I would look over at him and he would just be like, like it hits different than the anal. It just does. It's so, you're just, I think it's jarring. I think we can see men hooking up
Starting point is 00:49:42 that I'm not phased by it but something about them being picked up like that and being just on their lap like straddling. It's just jarring and we're just getting used to it and we're not judging and the next season we'll be fine with it. I had to be like this is how I show love
Starting point is 00:49:57 like when someone that I am romantically involved with is like obviously I would like straddle their lap hug them like I was like this is how people show love it's just these big masculine men doing it It takes a minute to get used to it. We loved it. And I was talking with a friend of mine, and I guess they're reading it for book club, but they're like,
Starting point is 00:50:17 we're talking more about the show. And she said, we had like all night last night discussing why heteroh women love it. And I was like, what's your takeaway? And she said the same thing. She said, one,
Starting point is 00:50:27 we don't see ourselves in the relationship. So it's free of the traditional gender roles, expectations, and also refreshing, hopeful to see a man be a good communicator, be honest, et cetera. Like you can watch it freely without putting yourself in the situation.
Starting point is 00:50:38 and obviously the sex is hot. And that's what we said. That's so it. I think that is. Put our finger on it. You just don't really see these type of relationships represented in mainstream culture. There's not a lot of like gay male relationships like this. And so many straight men watching it.
Starting point is 00:50:55 It really has just like pushed past just the barriers. Like I guess what am I trying to? Everybody's watching this. I know. And I love that about it. And I had this feeling of like, what if you like think this is bad? like what are like the homophobic evangelical Christian magas like they can't they think this is like a sin or this is bad or this is against God and it's like they can't enjoy this shit like imagine being those people imagine being like I can't watch this yeah like she's not at home watching but you know the they that they're undercover watch I mean I you know I think that most homophobic people are in the closet so it's just like how many of these anti-gay
Starting point is 00:51:37 warriors are secretly watching this. Sal Jot Doth protest too much. Yeah. Okay. So we will move on from it and we talk about something that like really has been in the news that we find really interesting. And it is Ashley Tisdale. She says she broke up with her toxic mom group.
Starting point is 00:51:57 So she wrote an article for the cut that's, I saw something that's called it scathing. It wasn't really scathing. It was just her personal experience with struggling being in, a new mom and finding this group of women and then starting to feel excluded and having to cut ties. I didn't think it was skating at all. I think that's interesting somebody who called that.
Starting point is 00:52:15 It's just I thought I found my village and said I was back in high school. And when I saw her face associated with this article, it was shocking to me because you don't see like huge celebrities write these type of like opeds essentially, like about like. Yeah. And it never occurred to me that these would be like other celebrity moms because I was like, who are these people? But like, of course it is, right? Like that was my first.
Starting point is 00:52:40 Yeah, like I actually don't even, would she have done it if they were just normal people? That might have felt a little like punching down or something. Like, I don't know. Do you feel like she felt more empowered to do it because these are also famous women, even though she didn't name them by name? That's an interesting take.
Starting point is 00:52:54 I mean, I never, at Thursday, just, first of all, it's to your point, it's not scathing. She just said I started to feel left out. They were making plans without me, and they were on other group texts without me. And that was that. excluded. Not that everybody was so terrible in me. She was like maybe she was like I'm not calling these women bad people. One person might have been but the rest of them just excluded me.
Starting point is 00:53:14 I guess I just was like you're you are right. I didn't really think about it as being celebrities but like of course it isn't. Of course like she grew up with all these celebrities. Yeah. Everybody in this mom group it was so for you guys is Hillary Duff, Mandy Moore. Sammy Ryan who's one of the Oppenheim brothers, ex-girlfriends. And there was one other. Oh, Megan Traynor. Yeah. It's kind of chilled down my spine, like feeling that feeling, which, you know, she likens it to feeling like she's back in high school. And, like, I just was reading it.
Starting point is 00:53:47 And anytime you read these things, luckily, I don't experience them in my adult life. I don't have those feelings. I mean, I think every once in a while you have some FOMO or why was not invited. I think that's, like, totally human. And, but, like, when it's all you think all your friend group is hanging out without you and they're purposely excluding you, that feeling is like, I just remember that feeling in middle school and high school. And I mean, it just sends a child on my spine. Like, you're brought right back to that. And that's what she says. She's like, I'm not, didn't sign up for this to feel like this.
Starting point is 00:54:16 Like I'm back in those adolescent years. You just, celebrities seem like they're in this like microcosm where they're like otherworldly and they don't see, they don't feel the same things that like muggles feel. And it's like you don't see them admit to just having the same feelings that everybody feels. But of course, like everybody that becomes a new mother. matter how famous or rich you are, feels the same things. You probably feel even more isolated because you can't have these regular mom groups. Right. You do need somebody that's kind of famous to be around you. And like this would be double the amount of isolation of like a regular mom. Of course they feel these things.
Starting point is 00:54:50 I just like forgot that celebrities have like real feelings like this. I know. And I mean, I wonder what the rest of the group would say. Like if someone did a rebuttal, would it be like, she's annoying. I do think it would be that. Like I don't have to like everybody. I know. I'm just kidding. I want to root for Ashley Tisdale because people say it look like her. Do you think Ashley Tisdale and Hillary Duff are the Ashley and Raina of their time?
Starting point is 00:55:12 Well, everybody thinks like everybody. Everybody says I look like Hillary Duff. That's what I literally am saying. That's us. No, I get that a lot. And you get this. So those are us. So we have a personal tie to them. But, you know, dare I say it's giving mom talk. How long are you sitting on this one? Next year. We were going to do this this week, but I'm going to do a Mormon wife. breakdown next week because I've been watching it. And I'll be farther along. I may have finished it now that the show's not on anymore.
Starting point is 00:55:39 But I begged you for, I know, I'm really sorry. But yeah, I don't know. I think this was so shocking because you don't see celebrities ever give opinions like this. And it's very easy to figure out who she's talking about because there's all these photos of them together. And she's calling out pretty big celebrities.
Starting point is 00:55:55 Like, I don't know. All these people can give her a bottle. Well, she said like has she kind of, she hasn't walked it back, but she's said like it's something. about them. She actually, people were saying was people, of course, started their fan fiction like they always do and they said it was about politics and she said it's not. People were saying she was maga. She's like, I'm a registered Democrat. But she said something like, this wasn't it. Basically,
Starting point is 00:56:20 I think her response has been like this wasn't like meant to be a hit piece and like you guys are wrong kind of thing. Like I think again, she's trying to cover her tracks a little bit. It's just tough. Like she probably just really had such a strong emotional experience that she like wanted to share. and like I guess again it's mom talk like you're too famous to do that people will figure out who it's about mom talk could act a little crazier first season I mean mom talk the best thing about that shows you know exactly who's doing what they're in the off season acting crazy too and I mean you just don't you don't see this very often it was very shocking and I do think it probably just boils down to like not everybody's going to like everybody Yeah, and it just, I feel for her, and I'm on her side as a fellow Ashley.
Starting point is 00:57:05 She's also a cancer. And so I just could feel that. I think we could all feel that. And I think it just like hurts anyone that goes through that. There was a book I read that this happened. It was called The Friendship Breakup, and I enjoyed that book, if you guys were looking for more content about this. But I just think it's good to put this content out there.
Starting point is 00:57:23 And so people can know this happens to the best of us. You know what made me sad? She said that, like, she found up. that all these moms had like hung out together and they had like planned this whole get together at her like daughter's birthday party. They had planned it at her. Yeah, I know. And I just, motherhood is so tough and it can be so isolating and you need people going through the same shit as you. You need mom friends with kids that are same age. If you have a kid that's special needs. You need mom friends that are going through that as well. Like you need that community.
Starting point is 00:57:55 So when you find them and then it doesn't work out, I mean the heart. break is so much deeper than a friend group that we would make, you know? Yeah. Who do you think like the Queen Bee is? I think it's Hillary. It's definitely Hillary, right? That's the... It's not Megan Schrainer.
Starting point is 00:58:13 No. We've heard she's nice. There's this food blogger in it. I think it's something with GABI, GABI. I like her content. It's not her. She's not the mean one. Maybe more...
Starting point is 00:58:23 I just don't think... I think she's too tired to be the mean one. I just... Is there going to be a rebuttal? Like, I don't know. I'm... People are saying, Sammy Ryan. So do you recognize her?
Starting point is 00:58:31 She was the one that was dating one of the little Oppenheim brothers. She's like floor to ceiling tattoos. She's really interesting to look at. She's beautiful, but covered in tattoos. And people say that she dropped this like Megan the Stallion like voice over. This is the energy I'm bringing in 2026. Like I don't give
Starting point is 00:58:47 a fuck. People take it's a response to this. Okay. I mean I wouldn't be surprised. So watch the space. We'll continue to report on this. Okay. We're just going to end with a few headlines and send you guys on your way. Alex Earle Tom Brady. I mean, this shook me. They were spotted on New Year's Eve. And I mean, why not? Why not? Why not? I mean, I say it shook me because I'm just like, the two hottest people, like,
Starting point is 00:59:14 she just broke up with a more no-name football player. She's going to upgrade. She's on a, like, rocket ship to fame. Why not? It's interesting to me because you were like, this is like a master class to, like, putting your ex in his place. I mean, she admittedly, like, they didn't have some terrible breakup. nobody cheated. She was just like, you know, basically it didn't work out essentially. But like I can't even compare this to anything. I was trying to think an analogy for myself. Like my man and I broke up, like, who would that be to me?
Starting point is 00:59:42 Like I guess it's like Alex Cooper. But like it's not even comparable. Like you're talking about the most famous athlete that has ever existed in the history at times he's more famous than LeBron? Like this is the most famous athlete alive. Men would kill themselves just to suck. Brady's dick. 100%.
Starting point is 01:00:00 There's nobody alive that like, there's still, like, if my man dated Alex Cooper, some people would still be like, who? But like, if your ex dated Tom Brady,
Starting point is 01:00:09 like not one person alive would be like, who? Exactly. Yeah, exactly. That's not a dig. It's just literally as a household name as an athlete. There's like five. He's like literally like a Michael Jordan.
Starting point is 01:00:19 It's that, I mean, it's crazy to watch it. Yeah, it is so crazy. I mean, she's just, she's so hot right now. And like,
Starting point is 01:00:26 people were saying like she's going to upgrade. And that's not a dig to Braxton or whatever. It's just like she's going to go more famous. She's going to go bigger. And, you know, I am an Alex Earl supporter. And, like, I was seeing headlines and they were calling like a TikTok dancer. I'm like, okay. She's so much more than that.
Starting point is 01:00:43 And I just think she's going to be so famous and like, I love this. I kidding. I was trying to like, your greatest hero, the person that you grew up with, like emulated in your entire life. Like, I pick Alex Cooper because she's at the top of her game. She's amazing. But I didn't grow up. I don't know who that was.
Starting point is 01:00:58 because she's 10 years younger than me. Exactly, right. That's your whole life. You've looked it up to them. So sending love to Braxton and good luck and we'll continue developing story. I think she's too spicy for Tom Brady. Yeah, Tom Brady's a full robot.
Starting point is 01:01:13 I mean, watching her rub his back and he just kind of stands there just frozen. The back rub was tough, but he is a full robot. Yeah. I don't think he's a real person. I mean, you can't be. How could you be at that level and be a regular person? I've been watching him talk.
Starting point is 01:01:28 Like, that's not a person. No, it's crazy. That's a simulation. Yeah, that's a Tesla robot. Okay, and Zach Bryan gets married to a woman that looks exactly like his ex, Brianna Chicken Fry. It's pretty shocking. I mean, gun to my head, that's the same person.
Starting point is 01:01:48 I know. I was telling you, like, I think a lot of women can look alike. You know, a lot of people, they have the same face. They do the same makeup. They have the same hair. They have the same body. they've had the same work done. These women look so much alike.
Starting point is 01:02:01 I haven't seen this. Would you like it or not like it? I would eat this up, but I want them to be a little less pretty. Yeah, she's, I think Breonna Higra is so beautiful. They're both beautiful. These girls are both really beautiful. No, I would live for this if my ex went after
Starting point is 01:02:16 like a slightly less attractive look alike of me. I'm obsessed with that. That kind of did happen. Your ex went after a slightly less attractive lookalike of me. Of you. Oh my God. Everybody kept telling me how much she looked like me. I was like,
Starting point is 01:02:31 you're really hurting my feelings. Stop. No, I'm sure she's, I'm sure she's great. Okay. So yeah, I mean,
Starting point is 01:02:37 we were not, we were never fans of Zach Bryan, but then he put that song out that was like dragging ice, and so people have turned a corner on him. So I'm neutral on him now. Now I know about his politics. I was always a fan of his music.
Starting point is 01:02:48 And then she came out with this and I was like, I don't need to spend my time and my money on this person. He's got his back. He's going to stand up against what's happening. And then. the world. And then lastly, New York City retired the metro card. I mean, this was such a staple of my life, my purse, my wallet. I was digging around in like old boxes to see if I could find one. And I had said to Jeremy and I was in New York a couple weeks ago, I got to buy one from
Starting point is 01:03:13 a million of machines and I forgot. And now we're seeing that people are selling them for like $10,000. They retired them to do what? Because you can just like tap to pay. So I haven't actually used a physical metro card in years because you can tap to pay now. Yeah. So I, I, I know I have to have one and I'm going to dig around too. Like since they were tired of you've been looking, trying to find one. Yeah, I have to have it in like memory boxes somewhere, but I don't know why I would because I probably was like, when they switched to tap to pay, I was like, I don't need these anymore. I have to have one somewhere.
Starting point is 01:03:42 I mean, I've had them in my life. I mean, when I first moved there, I did like a monthly, whatever the fuck, I would load it up, you know. So I've got to have, when I find that, oh my God, if I defined it, like in my home, it's going to be like jackpot. Oh, he's so sad. It's a relic now. Yeah. They're so, I just, I don't know, I love that.
Starting point is 01:03:58 Collectors item, a fucking metro car. You know who has one. I know they do. Rob Bolin. I knew you're going to say Rob. Of course he does. He loves a metro card. I feel like every New York heard, they used to just be like scattered throughout my house.
Starting point is 01:04:07 I know. I moved from New York to L.A. I know. And I don't take the subway that much in New York. If it's under like, if it's under like two miles, I will walk in New York. I don't like take the subway that much. I think I know where one is. I'll be so jealous for the afternoon.
Starting point is 01:04:20 I have to go home and see if I'm right. I'll tell only. I will lose my fucking mind. I don't want to film this. I found my Metro card. I'm like, God, she wants to live in New York so bad. Well, you love, you love nostalgia more than I do. You would be more likely to save stuff than I would.
Starting point is 01:04:35 Yes. So anyway, hold on to those or sell them on the black market, I guess. They are collector's items now. And that's your snack, you guys.
