Starting point is 00:00:00 Welcome to The Snack, a lighter serving of Girls Got to Eat. This is a Dear Media production. Enjoy. Happy birthday to you. Thank you. We're recording on your actual birthday. We're doing it for you guys. Yeah, no days off.
Starting point is 00:00:17 No days off. No air conditioning and no days off. No AC, no days off. But we missed you guys last week. Yeah. Yeah, so it is the ninth. We're getting this out for the 11th. 7-Eleven.
Starting point is 00:00:28 Also a good day. That's where I used to bike to by myself as a kid and get clear coat. Remember clear Coke? What? Okay. When somebody says 7-11 to me, I just remember riding my bike because the only place my dad would let me ride. Are you sure? Because there was Pepsi clear.
Starting point is 00:00:42 Oh, is it Pepsi clear? Rana's. Don't out yourself as a Pepsi drinker. Oh, you're from Pittsburgh. We're a Coke family. Your family's Coke? Because Pittsburgh people, I'll tell you something about Chip. My mom's husband, Chip, my stepdad, my longtime stepdad.
Starting point is 00:00:57 His grandfather owned a bunch of Coca-Cola bottling plants. And when he died, Chip got some of the. that cash. That's where Chips money comes from. Now it comes full circle while your mom, no, it's married Chip. No, it's because he's tall and his money. It's not because he talks. No, Pepsi. I haven't heard Chip talk in 20 years. But Pittsburgh people, is it, don't they have a Pepsi tendency? Because my mom was like a Pepsi. Please don't come for my mom. I think we're soda agnostic. I don't, I don't think that Pittsburgh is Pepsi. Okay. The way that like Pittsburgh equals Heinz ketchup. There, so I lived in Atlanta, obviously, Coke had HQ.
Starting point is 00:01:32 you. There was a restaurant that was randomly serving Pepsi products. They lasted a week. Atlantans were like, get out of here. Why would you do that? Totally. I mean, in the homeland? It's like if you brought, so Pittsburgh's the home of Heinz ketchup. Let me find a hunt's ketchup on a bot on a table somewhere. Can I go off on something with you that I know you feel strongly about? And then we'll get into it. On your show, yeah. House made ketchup. No. I know you hate this. It makes me feel, why take a perfect product and try to improve upon it? Make anything grainy. Make anything else housemade.
Starting point is 00:02:05 Like I'm down with a mayo aoli, spicy mustard. You want to do housemade when a restaurant or a bar tries to do housemade ketchup. Literally why. You're wasting your time. You're wasting resources. This is done for you. They put like raisins in it. Raisins in ketchup.
Starting point is 00:02:22 It's always mealy and like thick. Yeah. Put it through a sieve for me. It always tastes like shit. Totally. Find me a restaurant with Pepsi products and housemade ketchup. and watch me get up and flip a table and leave. Was there a place that we knew of that was making their own ketchup?
Starting point is 00:02:37 I feel like there is a place recently that I knew of that was making their own. And they stopped. People were upset. No, get out of here. Don't do this. I went to a bar recently. The amazing hand cut fries and all the handmade sauces and they were like so proud of their housemaid ketchup. I was like, you're embarrassing yourself.
Starting point is 00:02:50 Yeah, I wasn't with you. You don't know that. You told me about this. Yeah, I think I did. It was just this like new bar. I don't want to throw them out of the bus. Because they're doing like comedy shows and stuff. That's it.
Starting point is 00:02:58 That's why I thought I was saying. Yes. I go off. I get pissed every time. I don't want it. Who wants it? Stop it. This has been perfected.
Starting point is 00:03:07 We're all set. That's like the same as a restaurant being like we make our own Coke in house. No, we don't want it. The same brown sugar water has been being made for dozens of years. Okay. Okay. All right, well, let's just thank our partners. Thanks to Article.
Starting point is 00:03:23 Get $50 off your first purchase of $100 or more at article. At article.com slash Gigi. Yes. And thanks to Armour. Get 15% off your first order at tryarmra.com slash girls got to eat or with the code, Girls Got to Eat. Okay. Breaking news.
Starting point is 00:03:40 Okay. We have a pregnancy report. Breaking news in the last hour. Right. Big bump updates. I actually was not going to check the internet and thank God for group chats. Oh, right. One of our friends sent this test.
Starting point is 00:03:54 This one lit up the group chat. You want to say it? Gypsy Rose Blanchard is pregnant expecting first baby with boyfriend Ken Urker. Who? Erker. It's like Ercher? It's the white version of Urshar. Of Urshar. Okay. I can't keep up with her.
Starting point is 00:04:10 Okay. She gets around. I had to catch it. I had to read the article. It's in people. 2018, they were engaged. I think she was in prison and then they split before she got out of prison. And then she got married, also in prison to another guy. They split up. I knew, yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:25 Got back together with Erker as a friend. Knocked up. Knocked up. Not planned. Do you think people are out here? This was the same with, was it Jody Arias, just had like a boyfriend in prison? You know, like, people are, me, me, I'm the people.
Starting point is 00:04:41 And I'm like, this girl has had so many people want to marry her. I have like one person who's like half a person. But yeah, but maybe the standards are a little different. Like, you could, maybe you could head up her ex. I'm sure he would love to be with you. All right, we'll work on that before. Stay tuned, you guys. I just think you have a little.
Starting point is 00:05:00 higher bar. You know what? Totally. Good for her. Do you think Kim Kardashian will be at that baby shower? Kim Kardashian loves Gypsy Rose. Are you caught up? No. Oh, God. So we might as well throw the Kardashians in the mix. If you're caught up on the Kardashians on Hulu, Kim loves Gypsy Rose so much. They're in a family vacation. Kim cannot stop saying how she can't wait to leave dinner and go home and watch Gypsy Rose. And then she's going to like, and then she's getting together with her. She's like, well, I'm meeting with her on Wednesday and Chloe's like bitch what Kim's like I love gypsy Rose I can't wait to lay in bed and watch gypsy Rose like Kim had to have her own room on the family vacation so she could lay in bed and watch gypsy rows at night and then she was just like yeah we're getting together we're gonna talk
Starting point is 00:05:42 about prison reform she's like a stand I'm always I'm always shocked to see what celebrities watch and like what they're a fan of and like what is it like to hold the power in your hand that you're just like Kim Kardashian and you're like anything I see on TV I can have in my living room tomorrow right Like that's what Chloe was like, would you just text her? You know, and like, I feel like I never saw Kim and Gypsy Rose get together. It was like shortly after she got out of prison. Well, the ski trip where they're talking about this was January. Okay.
Starting point is 00:06:10 Do you think she's going to be in the next Skims campaign? Not the Skims maternity campaign. You heard it here first. I'm calling it. I feel like this is the hottest take of the episode. If Gypsy Rose is the next Skims model, maternity. Icon. She's got to make that cash.
Starting point is 00:06:30 Yeah. And they're like sleigh. People are like, oh, she's killing it. Yikes. Go off, mama. People in the comments are like, is this okay? Yes. Okay.
Starting point is 00:06:50 Yeah, but anyways, congrats to her. I think that she has a beautiful road ahead of her with Erker. Okay, but moving on, next pregnant. Next pregnant. Next, next bump. Margarabi. Pregnant Barbie. It's giving midge.
Starting point is 00:07:06 So I love that we have our first pregnant Barbie. The real one's no Midge. Midge was short-lived, but it was pregnant Barbie and her stomach opened up. Yeah, it's fucked up. But Midge was in the movie, which was so iconic. I know. Midge was just waving from her front yard. Like, I'm pregnant.
Starting point is 00:07:26 This is my life. They just discontinued Midge, right? Yeah, Midge was Midge. She was redhead. Representation. Yeah. Pregnant and red-haired. So many minority representations at Barbie.
Starting point is 00:07:40 Pregnant people. So we're just, this is not. So, you know, a woman is pregnant. That's really all we got to say. I have nothing to say about it. Yay. We just can't wait to talk about the third person in the pregnancy update. Oh, Lindsay Hubbard.
Starting point is 00:07:54 Lindsay Hubbard from Summerhouse announced her pregnancy in a sponsored way. I have so many feelings about that. Okay, yes. Like, let's back up and let's even talk about her being pregnant and like that was whiplash. You know, obviously we know there's time between filming the season and the present, but she ended in engagement with Carl now she's pregnant with someone's baby and someone. We don't know. We don't know.
Starting point is 00:08:18 I don't know. I listen. I don't go on this website a lot, but I want on Reddit and just to find out who the baby daddy was. I can find it. The internet has not found him. No. So he is allegedly a doctor. A short kid.
Starting point is 00:08:28 He does. So she was wearing heels in that photo. His head reached a little over her head. I think she is kind of tall. She's giving like five, six or five seven energy. So you're right. She could be like, he could be five. He's no Carl.
Starting point is 00:08:40 No. He's no six five guy with bad veneers. He's no 6-5, no trust fund. Bad veneer. Definitely not in finance. So she broke up with, Carl broke up with her in like September, October. She starts dating this guy that she used to date in January, who she dated a couple times. She wanted a couple dates with before Carl.
Starting point is 00:09:01 And then they refound each other. And she's always said she wanted to be a mom. And she looks about four months pregnant. Yeah. So she's filming now, pregnant. What an icon. what a reality TV star icon to be like, I'm going to be four months pregnant
Starting point is 00:09:16 when we start filming the season. No, like, listen, I'm not a fan of Lindsay. I have never been, that's all I'm going to say about it. I'm not here to drag her. She might, she's probably not a fan of me if she even knows who I am. You know, I'm just saying, like,
Starting point is 00:09:30 let me just say that. But some of these moves right now, she is making money moves. I mean, it is crazy to film that season. The whole cast is back except Danielle, which good for her. She needs to take care of her mental. health and not be on the show. And people couldn't stop dragging her. So I think her time is up.
Starting point is 00:09:46 Because she has to be a CEO. Yeah, she has to take time to be a CEO and founder. Founder. Founder. When the breakup news broke, we were like, oh my God, now I can't wait for the season. And now pregnant Lindsay in the Hampton's house notoriously a drunk mess. Yes. So she's sober and pregnant with her ex. Raina, I can't handle it. The whole series is riding on her shoulders. It's like no one's ever worked. Chris Jenner works hard, but Lindsay Hubbard works harder. It's giving Chris Jenner. And by the way, how iconic to be four months pregnant filming it, because you're not so big. Like, my sister-in-law's five months pregnant, you couldn't tell from the neck up, the waist, like, it's a perfect amount of pregnant.
Starting point is 00:10:28 You're not so uncomfortable. You can't do stuff. You still look really great. Like filming in the summertime, eight, nine months pregnant, impossible. This bitch nailed it. I can't believe this. Like, what is about to happen? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:10:40 And then we're just kind of kind of watch her. get more pregnant as the season goes on. With Carl and the house. Also, is this stress okay for the baby? I don't know. I don't know. You know what? I'm not going to mom shame, but it's interesting to do this to do the summer house pregnant. I mean, I tell you what, she gamed it right. Who's going to yell at a pregnant person on television? She is just going to trump. She's going to win every single fight. Paige will start yelling at her or she'll be like, I'm pregnant. Probably not, though. Her impage are like allies now. And did you see what page comments?
Starting point is 00:11:12 commented on the pregnancy announcement? No. So people are saying Paige predicted this. She did. Yeah, she manifested this. Paige said something somewhere along lines. I don't know if it was like the fortune teller episode, but Paige basically said like, oh, I think it was the breakup girls get together.
Starting point is 00:11:25 She was like next year, this time you could be pregnant with a love of your life or something like that. I don't want to misquote her. It was something like that. But that's funny to me because like lots of people say that to lots of people when they go through a breakup. She's like, you're making space for the next person. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:38 But I think it's just like, you know, everyone loves Paige and it just they remember. remember that moment and like here it happened. And that moment was only a few weeks ago in TV time in the first place. So anyway, page commented under the clear blue easy pregnancy announcement that said like, I'm even scared at how I manifested this or something like that. It was like a funny thing. But yeah, so let's talk about that she announced it as a sponsored post. Clear blue. I have like, which isn't my choice. I've taken, you know, we've all taken a few. What's your, what's your brand of choice? It's first response. Yes. Um, which is so intense. Like first responder.
Starting point is 00:12:13 We're the first responder to your pregnancy. I have mixed feelings because I'm like, on the one hand that is so cringe. Like, can you even imagine she had to reach out to them? Like, oh, right. She had to be like, her manager had to. Nope, her manager, buzz buzz. Lindsay's pregnant. We would tell our manager, I'm pregnant.
Starting point is 00:12:33 Can I get some money for this? Totally. I have been waiting on the right price to do Azul's breed announcement. I thought you were going to say to get pregnant. I'm pregnant right now. This episode is also sponsored by first response. No, people, DNA testing companies have reached out, and I'm like, the price isn't right. Everybody wants to know Azul's breed reveal.
Starting point is 00:12:52 I'm waiting for the right price. Let's hope he lives to see it. But I was saying, I wanted, I want more money. I'm going to do it. Like, it's not the same. But it's a big announcement. I was going to do a big, like, play on a gender reveal party and have his breed reveal and have it be sponsored and do a whole thing.
Starting point is 00:13:08 And so if you are that company, come at me. but the price has got to be right. If you think a pregnancy announcement or a wedding or anything else is sacred, that's fine. Then you don't do it. But if you want to get that money, like why not? I don't, people saying, why would you do this? This is sacred. Yeah, to you, I get.
Starting point is 00:13:27 Like, what is this, what harm is this doing? I'm totally with you. So I feel two ways, but I think it's a little cringe, but like, get that bag. And I totally agree with you. If you don't, if it's too sacred to you, then you don't do it. Yeah. But also, Lindsay Hubbard. has made it her literal job, her professional job in life to be a reality TV star, to put everything
Starting point is 00:13:46 out in the world. So like, why would she not monetize this? Also, get that money for your kids' future. That must have been a huge bag. I'm sorry, because it's everywhere. And that brand, hopefully, and her management team, whoever negotiated this deal, hopefully knew it would be everywhere. It's everywhere. This sponsored post. I mean, like, it's top of mind. So who knows what she got. I don't know. Would you venture a guess? Like over six figures. I think if she said that I like sold people the exclusive and the photo is going to
Starting point is 00:14:16 be in people, I could see selling like that. Because she has a similar amount of Instagram followers as I do, I think. And for a regular sponsored post, you can maybe, for just a hard feed post, maybe $10,000 to $12,000 for just a feed post alone. Talk about the brand. But it's a pregnancy
Starting point is 00:14:32 announcement. This will go everywhere. And it's in People Magazine, right? It's on this show. Right. Like I'm, like the people that want to judge, it's like, would you not take 50K for your kid? Spin it that way. I'm doing this for my future, my kid's future. I love, that's such a funny point. I love all these people being like, this is a, would you not, you just, you'd be like, I'm all sat on that money. Yeah. And then your kids' college tuition rolls around. You're going to wish you took that clear blue money. Your kid's going to be like, mom, I need a loan. And you're going to be
Starting point is 00:15:02 like, you know what, this one day, we had this opportunity. But I was worried that people in the internet would hate on me. So sorry, now you gotta get alone. She, no fucks. And good for her. I love it. I love that Carl was like, I have the same job as you. I'm an influencer and she's like, watch me. I'm gonna get pregnant and get an influencer deal for it. She's just pissing all over Carl. What is Carl gonna do now? She's been commenting back, you sent me her post last night, she's been commenting back and forth with a lot of people on that post. She is too activated. Now she's pregnant. She's extra activated. She is too. Is hormone. and in the comments.
Starting point is 00:15:39 And it's so hard to, like, not get worked up at the things people say to you. And Lindsay can do whatever she wants on her own Instagram. But, like, I hate when you see it because, like, you know those people just want your response. So when those people say things, their intention is to poke you, like, whatever people are saying, like, this is cringe or Carl this. How could you be over with Carl so quickly? Whatever. Like, whatever. And she is commenting back.
Starting point is 00:16:03 And you can feel that she's activated and angry. and I know the feeling. I mean, we've all been there, anyone who kind of has put themselves out there on the internet, but it's just like you gotta, well, you don't have to do anything. But it makes you look on their level. Right. But then it's entertaining.
Starting point is 00:16:19 I'm loving, reading it. She's also, she's always going to entertain. Also, Clear Blue is like, let me see those stats on that post. And she's like, I've doubled the comments. Can you imagine? Clear Blue is like, if you comment back to everything, we'll raise the price. We'll double the price. Yeah, if this goes viral.
Starting point is 00:16:35 But so I. That is so. funny she's just like keyboard warrior like let's get that fucking engagement up she's like let's get these numbers up board it around so smart what it she is chris jenner i'm sorry similar energy it's crazy does she have a soul up for debate but who cares i couldn't be me and i love it's someone else and somebody was like i wonder what carl's gonna think about us and she was like i've had him blocked forever i don't care i'm dating a doctor she is the pettiest we didn't get to about this because we recorded and that it happened like a few days later but what snack did she
Starting point is 00:17:10 the goldfish crackers cheese it's thing yeah so carl what did a sponsor post for goldfish goldfish crackers yeah lindsay did one for cheese it and just the whole caption was a disc track towards carl it was insane to read incredible it was i was that was the most mic drop like goldfish crackers was like i'm going to call some money and she probably reached out to cheese it's too She is just got, Carl is playing checkers and she is playing chess. I never thought I would be hyping her like this. I know.
Starting point is 00:17:47 I'm not trying to be friends with her, but I like to watch her on television and the internet. She looks great. She's whatever she's done. Got pregnant. I was going to say something else, but she just got pregnant. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:59 No, she's had work done. Oh, yeah. Body, face. And she, it's working for her. So have I and so. And it is. Yeah. No judgment.
Starting point is 00:18:07 It's working for her. She's, I think she has striked a pretty good balance. I think she's on the cusp of looking like a housewife. Let's hit the pause button. But she's, now she's pregnant, so no more fillers and needles for a while.
Starting point is 00:18:21 Yeah. It'll settle in. She's going to look a beautiful mother. Lots of money for her kids' future. I look forward to seeing what sponsored deal she comes up with next. I wonder if she stole this idea from Sheena Shea, because sheena Shea from Vanderpenterpumperl also announced her pregnancy with Clearblue. I was trying to remember, like,
Starting point is 00:18:36 who else did this? And she did it, um, Four years ago, I looked at the post. I was like, have other people done this? Can I say that like, I don't know. I don't know Vanderpump that well. We all know this. So like I don't know everything about Sheena,
Starting point is 00:18:50 but I just feel like there are a lot of storylines about her. And I see a lot of times in various comment sections, can someone check on Sheena? Like, there's just different things that, like, it feels like she's wanted some things or done some things and other people get them or they do them better. maybe it's Ariana with hosting Love Island. I don't know what it is, but it's just very like,
Starting point is 00:19:12 I see like, can someone check on Sheena a lot? That's really funny. And I don't always know the context for it. And I'm like, hope sheena's doing all right. The whole thing this season on Vanderpump was that Ariana got dancing with the stars. And Sheena was like, but I wanted it. I knew that. I did watch that episode.
Starting point is 00:19:29 Yeah. Yeah. And then just some other like kind of jealousy stuff. I think that she struggles with like, I'm happy for this person, but I'm also a little jealous. I get that feeling. but she really opens herself up to a lot of criticism. That's what it is.
Starting point is 00:19:41 I guess like just she's an easy target. And like just while we're here, you guys, because I said to Ariana, we are not watching Love Island. You, I thought you're going to say because her name's Ariana. Not Ariana. What is it?
Starting point is 00:19:53 I think it's Ariana, but Ariana is what half the cast says. And I'm always like, which one is it? Maybe she's like, it's either. So we aren't watching, but everybody's like obsessed with it. And so I'm sorry. I do apologize. You guys have been requesting it.
Starting point is 00:20:06 And like maybe we'll get there. It's just we've been busy. And I've never been a Love Island girly. And that's not any shade. I just haven't really ever gotten into it. I feel like I didn't want to go down that hole and have a take over my life. Like everyone says it does. But everybody is saying this season is so good and like so much better than previous U.S. seasons.
Starting point is 00:20:26 And I mean, people are loving her as a host. She looks phenomenal. All the promo looks great. She's just been spicy in the comments. One person said something about her legs looking bad. She was like, I work on my legs every single day and I would snap your neck with them, but I wouldn't let you close to me.
Starting point is 00:20:40 Oh, okay. I was like, okay, sis, go off. I'll read one thing if you guys want some thoughts. This came from Alyssa. Alyssa Maroso. Alyssa Maroso. Alyssa, in December or December? But Alyssa has great takes.
Starting point is 00:20:51 And so it says people wanted her thoughts on Love Island USA. She says it may contain spoilers. She said, K-Lore forgave Aaron way too quickly, and I don't understand why everyone is lying to her and completely downplaying the situation with Danielle. I kind of think, Jana and Serena are overreacting. They all said they were open.
Starting point is 00:21:09 Obviously Cordell messed up, but hear him out. I think he was just excited to get attention, and the other boys in the villa didn't help by gassing him up. I think Ariana has been an incredible host. Tessa, what do you think? Let's say Tessaway in. What do you think? What do you think of that stuff I said?
Starting point is 00:21:22 I have no idea what it means. I don't know who one of those people are. Kailor forgave Aaron way too quickly. It was before a commercial break. It was insane. They were the strongest couple, like, all season. Then as soon as he went to the villa, he was all over this other girl and was like,
Starting point is 00:21:35 then I have so many hot days give us a couple more Serena is currently the best person on the show she is like not forgiving Cordell he really fucked up and he 100% the girl that he brought back from the villa not a girl's girl she just like told her she said serena everything that they did just to like stir the pot
Starting point is 00:21:55 and get her away but the girl that Cordell brought back so Cordell is Odell Beckham's brother the athlete and then she's in Odell's, like, social media all prior to her. And now she's going for the brother. Kim's-R-R-R-E-E-R-E-R-E. Okay.
Starting point is 00:22:14 Wow. And then I don't think Janay's a girl's girl. I think that's the hottest take. Everyone disagrees with that. Everyone likes Jan-E. Oh, Jan-A. Jan-A. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:22:22 Tal-Lis-L-L-L-L-S-A. It's hard. It's J-A-N-A. I wouldn't know. If you read that, I wouldn't know. This was such a crazy experience for me. You're reading that because I don't know one storyline or one people, one person you're talking about.
Starting point is 00:22:32 Is this what you feel like when I talk about Vanderpump Rules? No, because I know the basics. And I know the names. And I want to be involved in the culture so we can continue our friendship. Real Housewives? I think I know enough to be dangerous. This is absolutely foreign to me. That was like reading a foreign language.
Starting point is 00:22:49 I think you're right. I mean, Housewives, for better, for us, they've all been so famous for 10 years. You'd have to, like, be hiding from pop culture. Yeah. Like I would know enough. This, any more tests? Just movie nights tonight. So that's everything's going to be shown.
Starting point is 00:23:01 Oh, so we're going to be able to date. when this airs. Okay. What do you mean by that? Movie night. So, they show them back? They show everything that they, so basically what happened was the guys were in CASA,
Starting point is 00:23:12 and then right before they came back, they sent a minute-long clip to the girls showing, like, half of like what one guy had done and half of what the other guy had done. And then now they're going to show everything tonight to the girls because the guys have been back for a couple days and have been lying out of their asses to all of their girls. Oh, my God. And the guys are defending them.
Starting point is 00:23:28 All of the male behavior in this show is disgusting, because they're just, like, defending. each other and like these poor girls are being lied to. Okay guys, there is your Love Island update. I think we think. Thank you to our Love Island correspondent, Tessa. Yes, thank you, Tessa. We're going to get canceled.
Starting point is 00:23:45 We're like, we didn't know what she said. People are like, Tessa's really problematic, you guys. Low key. We didn't hire her to be PC. We just handed her a mic. She's like, I'm going to get them. This is how we get canceled? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:02 Oh my gosh. Okay. So I am so happy to be back. I'm not, but I, that's a crazy statement. I'm not. I actually would like to leave. But you and the whole group chat was talking about the Dallas Cowboys, America's sweetheart, cheerleader, documentary on Netflix.
Starting point is 00:24:20 And you keep saying to me like, I told you this in the group chat. I told you this and I was like, I have, I stopped reading because I don't know what you guys were talking about. So I flew back and literally all I did on Friday until I went to your birthday party on Saturday was just crushed eight episodes. It flies by. I loved it so much. Same. And I didn't, I like you, I wasn't sure if I was going to love it. I don't always love Texas culture towards women.
Starting point is 00:24:47 And I briefly dated somebody who works for the organization. And I was like, I'm just going to be having fights with them the whole time in my head. But you and I loved it. I mean, it is eight episodes that goes from the beginning of cheerleading tryouts all the way through the first round of the playoffs when Dallas was knocked out. This so, like, full circle, how it ends with, like, the Thanksgiving game, which we all watched and we saw Dali Parton. And, like, I remember, like, posting, like, Raina, this is you in 50 years, you know, at a live show, you know, whatever. But I think it's funny because you brought up my birthday. And my birthday, when we transitioned from Habachi to karaoke, first song, out of the gate was thunderstruck.
Starting point is 00:25:24 And we all got in a kick line. We'll post the video. My kick was high. Mine was in a full-length dress. You didn't have the right attire. I was trying to get in. a short dress and just my like underwear was out but like I watched the video back I'm like I should audition I should audition like they have like a geriatric I can do high kicks brain I would always do high kicks
Starting point is 00:25:39 at your new year's parties like when New York New York would play like it's one thing that I kind of got going for me but I just have to wonder you think like Spotify is like ACDC is top of the charts like everyone is just playing thunderstruck that is so fun I know I'm at home like I miss that song I want to listen to it here's the thing the song starts so strong and then it just is like too long. It's super long. Like one person at the party was like, oh, I didn't realize there were words in this. You know, you just like know the beginning.
Starting point is 00:26:08 Yeah. Well, you watch them eventually do the whole dance. And I was like, oh, damn, this is long. Yeah. I mean, so I was hesitant as well going in. I was on the forefront of this. I saw it pop up on my Netflix. The day it came out.
Starting point is 00:26:20 I was like, yeah, I'll settle into that in like the next 48. And I hate the Dallas Cowboys. I'm an Eagles fan. I'm not a fan of the organization. Again, like Raina said, we'd love our Dallas fans. and listeners, and we love performing there. We could not love it more. But culturally, Texas, you know, with a few exceptions, is not necessarily where we skew.
Starting point is 00:26:38 There are really dated values in a lot of places. There's misogynistic undertones. I mean, we'll get into, like, what they pay the cheerlers. I mean, there's a lot of things that bothered me about it. But, like, at its core, it's these women who, you know, I was like, I'm not going to relate to these women. They want something so differently out of life. Like, I can't imagine being a dolly.
Starting point is 00:26:59 Cowboys Cheerleader being my life goal, but then I'm watching, I'm like, we're all, like, why am I'm getting emotional? I'm like, we all want the same thing. Like, we all want, like, camaraderie and friendship and purpose and recognition for our hard work. And a lot of us do want to be on, like, the world stage. And we do want this, like, familial feeling. And we want to have fun with the girls. And we want to dance. And it's just, it really put into perspective. Like, I loved watching all these women's story unfold and how hard they fucking work. And they do this. after their full-time jobs and, you know, so much of it is about their relationships. And, like, by the end of it, I was like, I didn't think I would feel so emotional about these
Starting point is 00:27:39 women because I thought that, like, I wouldn't relate to them on any level. Them, you know, not being fairly compensated makes you even more mad because you're like, these girls are fucking busting their ass. Like, I don't know. So I want to have the money thing, but I want to back up to what you said. I just, I thought it was like a beautiful representation of like sisterhood and uplifting each other. And you have this coach that does. doesn't necessarily tell you a good job.
Starting point is 00:28:01 Like, they have to do that for each other. They're working towards this goal that they know will end. So, like, they are athletes at the highest level that you could possibly be. But at most, you're going to do this for five years. And that's it. There's no ascending to another level. And you need to work so hard and also look a certain way. I mean, they are just, like, the top of the chain in terms of, like, how hard they work.
Starting point is 00:28:20 And I found myself really, like, crying at all these women's stories. And I root for all them. I want to watch them succeed. And I cried so hard when they brought all the cheerleaders back from the 70s, the 80s, 90s. Like to see these women and just the love and friendship between them was beautiful. To read it what you said, it really felt like it was about the sisterhood. And I feel, I felt this sadness for like when their time is up, you know? And I never want to go through life thinking that my best years are behind me. And I think it's kind of a depressing thought.
Starting point is 00:28:48 And I hate when people say like college is the best time your life or whatever. But this might really be like a peak for them, you know. And I don't say that as an insult. Like when else would you be young 20s doing that with all those girls for maybe five years. This becomes your whole life. Like it takes over your life. You have this routine and the practice schedule and the games and all this excitement. And then you just stop. And I'm sure there's a sense where you're like, okay, well, I'm glad to be done. My body is broken down. I'm tired. But I'm like, where do I go from here? And you were not paid like an athlete where where you go from here is if you have managed your money correctly, you're on a yacht Miami. Yeah. So they're like, what do I do now? And I think like,
Starting point is 00:29:27 obviously in the age of social media, you can leverage that. And, you know, I knew some cheerleaders when I was in Atlanta. And a lot of them did like on-air stuff, media stuff. You know, like they had the look. They were so good at being on camera in the first place. And they just had big personalities. And so a lot of them were like, you know, can get into sports. I mean, whatever it is. Like, it's not for nothing, but it's certainly not anything that you've saved a penny from. And you have, it has taken a toll in your body and then it's just like over. Yeah, I couldn't. I had our time to come into terms of it because these are like the hardest working athletes and on top of it have to look a certain way and then it is just over.
Starting point is 00:30:06 Like then what do you do? And a lot of them have jobs. But I think the biggest like news out of this was what the cheerleaders get paid and how they're compensated. And just to put this in perspective, the Dallas Cowboys are the highest grossing sports organization in the country, not just in football in the whole country of any sports organization. So they bring in more money than any athletic team in the U.S. And these cheerleaders are so underpaid. I mean, there was a quote in the movie talking about how this just organization, just the cheerless, generate millions of dollars for the team through appearances, calendars,
Starting point is 00:30:40 things like that. And then the quote from Charlotte Jones, who's the daughter of Jerry Jones, who owns the Cowboys, they actually don't come here for money. They come here for something that's actually bigger than that to them. They have a passion for dance. It's about sisterhood, about relationships, so on and so forth. they know they're making a difference, which is true, but you can't pay your rent with sisterhood. Let's compensate people appropriately.
Starting point is 00:30:59 Charlotte Jones is the villain. She makes my skin crawl. Like, to say that stuff as, I mean, she's on a billionaire herself. She's a multi, multi-millionaire. Her dad is who he is. Like, it just, that's really fucking rich to, like, say that coming from you. Totally. And, you know.
Starting point is 00:31:14 Who are you to tell me that I should make less? And it was interesting because, like, what they make was not a hot take to Raina and I. I knew that the Dallas Cobbyshire has made the most in the whole. whole league, but like compared to other cheerleaders. But like, you know, I knew what my friends would make and there were years ago. But I remember hearing they would make like $100 a game. And maybe they're compensated for practice, but they have to do different charity stuff. And I knew it was like a grueling process. And like, this is on a full time job. You have to have another job on top of it. And you still have to go to practice after your full time. And so it wasn't, and you
Starting point is 00:31:43 said you knew that too. And so it wasn't like a hot take. But I kind of forgot that people didn't know this. And you know, this was like the most shocking thing. And I'm like, oh, right, I was shocked when I heard for the first time. I thought that my cheerleader friends were, this was their job. So it's just crazy. And I mean, we just like, Raina and I, we know so many, we've had so many NFL cheerleaders at our shows. I don't even know. We've had the Seahawks, the Rams, the Rams, the Colts, the Bengals. I don't want to like miss any, but we've had a lot. And we've had a lot of NBA dancers too. But a lot of NFL cheerleaders. And they're always like so wonderful. They're the Swedish.
Starting point is 00:32:21 girls. We have so much fun with them. We always always want to hang out with them like before and after. And, you know, we always want to pay them whatever. You know, like they give us the price for like, we hope this is like worth your time and knowing that they just don't make that much. They just delight people. They're just so wonderful to our show. I remember one day before we went on stage.
Starting point is 00:32:40 I think it was the Seahawks cheerleaders. I couldn't get my hair to curl correctly. And I was like, the Seahawks cheerleaders doesn't know how to do it. I just like went downstairs. One of the girls like curled my hair. Like I can't believe how much joy these people bring. And you never talked about this yesterday. Like the cheerleaders are such a big part of the actual brand. Like the Dallas Cowboys aren't just a football team.
Starting point is 00:32:58 It is, it's a lifestyle. It's a brand. There's all these outside experiences you can go to and events. Like these girls do add so much to the brand. They don't sell tickets, you and I were saying the way players do. Kind of. Okay. But like, do the backup dancers for Taylor Swift sell tickets?
Starting point is 00:33:13 No. They still get paid more. You know, like do you go to see Beyonce? Because for backup dancers, no. Like, you know what I'm saying? Totally. So there's this whole argument that, like, they're not profitable. Now the Dallas Cowboys dealers are profitable, but there is, there was, there is the
Starting point is 00:33:31 argument that like, but they're not selling tickets or not. It's like, it doesn't matter. They're still a part of the brand. I guess you can't exactly track the line item of where their revenue comes in sometimes. But they are a part of the brand and they are at such a high skill level. Like, that's what's so crazy to me. Like, you demand a certain level of skill. isn't learn on the job fake until you make it anyone can do it it is a lifetime of like work and
Starting point is 00:33:57 experience and training so you demand that you demand a certain look and then you don't pay them appropriately that's what's so crazy like these aren't just anybody off the street that you can pay minimum wage to like they have been training for this longer than like doctors and lawyers in some cases and so that's what's so crazy to me that the pay doesn't fit the skill level necessary to do the job that you require. And if you're an organization, like the Steelers, for example, that you feel like the cheerleaders are not worth it, then don't have them. And I don't know if that was why the Steelers made that call, but they don't have cheerleaders. And there's a few other teams in the league that don't. But if you're going to have them, they are part of the brand, they are representing the brand,
Starting point is 00:34:36 and they are busting their ass, pay them appropriately. It's just crazy to me. It's crazy to me. And the standards put on these women, like not only do you have to be a supreme athlete and you have to work a full-time job, come after work, do practice, go to all these events, be a brand ambassador. You also have to look a certain way. So, like, there was a moment in the show where they're going through candid shots of the girls on the field. And it was like, your eyebrows look weird in this.
Starting point is 00:35:00 Your hair looks weird in this. And it's like, oh, I have to, like, play in this game. I got to do this dance for four hours. And I have to look a certain. Imagine zooming in on, like, Tom Brady and being like, you were frowning in this one moment. Right. So you don't get your $100 million contract.
Starting point is 00:35:14 Like, no one is held to this standard besides the cheer. Girl leaders? It's so, you're so right. Worst played people, the worst paid people in the, in the whole stadium. Less than the water boys. Like, that's like a real thing. Does anyone ever caught the water boy on the big screen and be like, oh, he doesn't look happy. His eyebrows are uneven.
Starting point is 00:35:31 I mean, it's, we were joking yesterday. There, there's a lot of dancing around appearances. Let's talk, you talk about, they don't blatantly say anything about weight or race or whatever. But I don't know. There is some, it, it's. It's implied, I guess, in some cases, certain things that happened in the show, which was kind of like tough to stomach. But it's just, it's, it's so crazy.
Starting point is 00:35:56 Like, I was like, when they were cutting these girls, I was like, I can't believe this. When they cut Kelly after they died her brunette, I couldn't believe it. Couldn't believe it. They were like, well, you're not blonde anymore. Like the rest of the squads, you can't be here. They made her go brunette and then cut her at the end of training camp. I was, when they cut Anisha, I screamed. They.
Starting point is 00:36:15 Anisha orthodontist by day cheerleader by night 31 Too old That's what I said She twisted her ankle They were like
Starting point is 00:36:24 She won't recover from that She put her out the passenger Maybe she was Shoot her in the field Maybe if she was 25 She'd come back She rolled an ankle She's out of there
Starting point is 00:36:33 She was my absolute favorite She was so fun to watch But yeah It was there's a lot of different nuances I don't know It's certainly not that inclusive And I was laughing Thinking about how
Starting point is 00:36:42 They're like Male cheerleaders like DCC would never. Can you imagine a boy? Like the Eagles have like one male or two. You know, obviously the commanders. They're a whole different vibe, but it's like co-ed. Like a lot of these teams are co-ed now.
Starting point is 00:36:56 Can you imagine? No. They're like, we've never even considered Charlotte Jones. A man cheerleader? They cut a girl for being 5'7. Ari. No, she's like 5 feet. Everyone's like 5'7 around.
Starting point is 00:37:14 No, I think she was like Five, seven. She's a dolphin's children now. She was cutting for being too short, which I get it. Cut her for being too sure because you ate short people. Ashley's like, let me, she's like, but, blah, blah, blah, blah, let me stop you right there. She is short and as someone who ate short people, that's gross.
Starting point is 00:37:30 I would never, Ashley would leave the stadium. No, when they were cutting all the women of color, I was like, outraged. They cut that short girl. I was like, I get it. They did. I'm kidding, you guys. Rainin is starting to push this narrative.
Starting point is 00:37:40 She's trying to get me some haters. I don't even have to do anything. I don't even have to do anything. I do not hate short people. That was a crazy move, though. It was crazy. That was one of the most shocking things I've ever seen. They were like, can we really cut her?
Starting point is 00:37:54 Can we cut her because she's short? Charlotte Jones was like, it was, it would be the easiest conversation you've ever had. That's it. There's 36 people. Yeah, I could unpack themes of, like, race and body image forever, but like, these women really, like, bled out for the series. I thought that they, like, really put their lives out there. Victoria talked about her eating disorder issues, danced around them, but
Starting point is 00:38:14 acknowledge them. Victoria was the most tortured person with that team, and I'm so glad she didn't go back. She was recently like Kate Kennedy's podcast, which I'm going to read a little excerpt from Kate, or I'm going to read a little quote from Kate, but I was like, I've never seen someone struggling so much with something that they feel they're supposed to do, but like deep down, don't want to do it. Like there was one part where her friend said that she had taken that year off and she went to New York and she was thriving.
Starting point is 00:38:40 And it brought me to tears. I'm like, that's a sign. Stop doing this. Stop doing it because you feel like you have to. to when your mom did it and get out of your single bed and get out of your mom's house and like get out of this world and she did and I feel so happy about it and like you know all those girls I hope Reese and that guy are doing all right I don't know we Reese she is she's like an alien she's just the sweetest person I've ever seen in my life have you ever seen a man outkick his coverage
Starting point is 00:39:06 that far I mean it is otherworldly that guy has got to thank Jesus that guy who wakes up every day and he's like, God loves Dallas. That guy might not even believe in Jesus. He's like, I don't care what I have to do to be with her. Can I? That is so bad. That guy's Jewish. It comes out.
Starting point is 00:39:26 He's like, I've been trying to, whatever I got to do. Okay, I have a question for you. There was a scene where they were making dinner. And he's forming these, like, deer meat patties. And then he just puts them straight into this boiling cream. Crazy. What are they making? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:39:40 They're 22. You know, like, it's just like, how do you cook at that age? I don't know. Boil it in milk. I was like, what are they making here? She's like, I'm a better cook than him. I don't know. What he's doing.
Starting point is 00:39:52 She microwaved okra from a can. He shot this today after his power washing job. There was blood coming up. Ew. Guys, we're missing a lot of takes here because we can't possibly cover them all. And we know many of you watch this a couple weeks ago, but I mean, there's so much stuff we could talk about. I want to finally say, like Kelly. I don't know about Kelly.
Starting point is 00:40:10 She's no Monica. Monica from Cheers is my top. Top. You and I were talking about it's not a leadership style. I would thrive under and I would not want to treat other people like that. And maybe I said there is just this sense of like I refuse to give anybody praise. And perhaps that comes from the fact that they have to strip down the entire team every year and build it back up. And you have to kind of just develop this sense of like ruthlessness to be like that.
Starting point is 00:40:36 But I could not exist in an environment like that. I truly believe all environments work or otherwise. are better with positive reinforcement. I just think that I don't understand the lack of positive reinforcement when someone does something well. Like I think it gives people confidence. It makes someone to work harder. Like if you operate under negative reinforcement and just wanting everybody to live in fear,
Starting point is 00:40:57 it's weird. It's almost like you're choosing people that have that insecurity that they like are aiming to please. Like I worry about that. I'm just, it's very weird. I've never thrived in that in sports or anything. Like we had one coach that did that. It was just like her negative style like.
Starting point is 00:41:11 never giving anybody any encouragement. I'm like, I can't. This is not for me. And so like you said to your point earlier, which I loved was that they give it to each other, though. You know, like, of course they want to please Kelly, you know,
Starting point is 00:41:23 take some three years to get a good job from her, but like they get it from each other. And like one thing I wanted to say, I just want to read this quote. So I guess Kate Kennedy, again, she had Victoria on and she's been talking about this a lot too. We love her, Be There in Five as her podcast.
Starting point is 00:41:36 And I really, this resonated me of me. This was a quote that like someone else posted and Kate reposted it, but Kate said it. So she said, again, I will ride for these women. I think they're, I think they mostly seem like incredibly kind, talented individuals that are there for the right reasons. But I guess it's just hard for me to understand how in that position I would feel respected
Starting point is 00:41:52 because they treat them like their children. Like a point I can't wrap my head around is being expected to handle multiple jobs, a grueling workout schedule, a diet that probably is less than exciting and doesn't involve a lot of breading, constant scrutiny about my appearance, literal exhaustion, serious adult issues like dealing with sexual predators. They're at a function of the position this role puts you in and how it markets you, dealing with all of that, then showing up to practice after a long day with meager pay and doing full glam for the second time that day to do all of that for them.
Starting point is 00:42:17 But if they show up to practice and answer a question with an upbeat yes, instead of a yes ma'am, they snap at them and correct them like they're a goddamn toddler. Maybe it feels something. Hit me the chest. The yes ma'am culture, the like we are, it's just, it's beyond my comprehension. And it's just like, it's tough to stomach. Like this just feels like really archaic and regressive and, Yeah, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:42:41 You know who didn't say yes ma'am? It's the New Jersey girl. I noticed it. She was the only one that didn't say yes ma'am. She didn't? Yeah, the New Jersey girl. She has trial started for this for 2020? Probably.
Starting point is 00:42:53 Yeah, they must have. Preseason's next month. If Kelly doesn't make, well, I don't know if she's going to go back out, but if Kelly goes back out and doesn't make, I mean, that's all I care about. I want season two. Okay, well, that is our DCC breakdown. Ketreina and I. at tryouts this season.
Starting point is 00:43:12 You think they're going to have a geriatrically? We would be on the field with those old ladies. They put us in the jeans and the sequin tea. The jeans are the jeans? Not the jeans? I was like, are they going to put them in the uniforms? They were like, no. Give them the sequin t-shirt.

Starting point is 00:47:30 She is fresh off the premiere of the show that she is starring in. The Bachelorette, Jen Tram. Please welcome to the show. Hey guys. Thanks for having me. I'm excited to be here. Yes. This is so funny.
Starting point is 00:47:42 We just like went to bed right after watching you and wake up this morning and here you are on the Zoom. Well, funny enough, this is weird for me because I used to listen to you guys on my drive to like to PA school. So it's funny that now I get to meet you guys. Oh my God. Thank you. So you're in Boston.
Starting point is 00:48:01 Like you're. I'm from Bob. I'm talking so I grew up in New Jersey. Jersey and then I lived in Boston for a couple years and now my family lives there, which is why my intro package was kind of done there. But right now I live in Miami for a physician at the school. That's what I just said. I was like, she lives in Miami. But I'm like, my boyfriend lives in Boston. So I'm a bit of a Boston girlie myself. And we like, I love performing there. And it was just so we loved seeing that.
Starting point is 00:48:23 Love it. Boston. We spent a lot of time there. And Miami. Jen, how have the last 24 hours been for you? Are you just dying? Are you having the best time? I'm having the best time, but I don't feel like anything's different. Yeah, I don't know, but it's so weird. I, nothing has hit me yet. I was out of bar with my friends watching it. So it felt very like I'm watching like a home video with my best friend. And it hasn't hit me that like everyone's about to just like watch my entire story. But yeah. That's amazing. I mean, it's so funny. You're watching your show. You're like, I am the main character. It has not hit me yet. But I feel like it won't hit me till the end of a season. And I'm like, oh, shit. Like that was just my entire life played on TV. Well, we love it. We loved watching it.
Starting point is 00:49:06 We loved seeing the steamy makeout last night. Jen, the steamyest makeout I've ever seen. You were like, no one, no one kissed me, nobody, I'm a lady. And then you just laid down and made out. I know. I was like, I have not seen dry humping on this show ever. I'm kidding. Ladies can kiss really.
Starting point is 00:49:27 Ladies can have steamy kisses too, no. We're such huge fans of like a hot makeout. Like sometimes that's like all you need. But anyway, we just, we loved, we love seeing it. They really got in there. They really, they showed us a prolonged, they showed us. I know, I was like, oh, they're still going. They're not going to cut this stuff.
Starting point is 00:49:44 Oh, yeah. Me too. I was like, oh gosh, what is this going to end? It doesn't end. It just keeps going. I mean, he's really hot. Good for you. I would keep going too.
Starting point is 00:49:56 Thanks. My mom did not say the same thing, but thank you. No. I love that. What did your parents say about this? What has their reaction been? So I've been avoiding calling my mom this morning. I don't want to hear it.
Starting point is 00:50:09 And I called her at lunch earlier. And surprisingly, she was like pretty okay with it. But she didn't start the phone call off with that. So that's a good thing. But then, of course, five minutes into it, she's like, by the way, that little couch scene of yours, you know, I was like, mom, please. She's like, I just didn't like that you initiated the kiss. I was like, oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:50:30 Okay, mom, it's 2024. Go with it. Also, you could have made out with 25 guys and you only did one. So really, that's a gift. Yeah, yeah. Just 25 minutes long. No, she was just saying like, yeah, she was fine with it. She was just saying like he should have been issuing it because.
Starting point is 00:50:44 But you're, it's different. You know, you're in charge, you know. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You hold the power. Are you in like a family group chat? Like, is there? I am. Me, my mom and my brother.
Starting point is 00:50:55 Yeah. It was blowing up last night. Did he watch it? Is your brother watching? Yeah, had to ask. He did. And he's been busy working, so I haven't talked to him about it yet, but I'm sure he has so many comments. Yeah, I think my brother would have to tune out.
Starting point is 00:51:09 Yeah. He'd see one make out. And he'd be like, you know what? Just let me know the cliffs. Totally. Somebody would touch my name. My brother would be like, I'm good. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:18 What was that first night? Like, because you seemed amazingly at ease. You seemed to have a lot to say, really confident. Were you nervous? Thank you. Honestly, not really. At that point. I was really just anticipating meeting them then. So I was just excited to, I like to flirt.
Starting point is 00:51:35 So it wasn't anything that was hard for me. Like I'm a flirt. I'm a good flirt. I love it. I think the things that get harder is like when they actually get to know me and I'm like, oh, oh shit. But flirting, I'm all four. So I was excited. I have to ask, have you ever dated multiple guys at once like in your. God, no. No one. When I date someone, I have such tunnel vision. Like I won't even look at another. guys. So going into this, I was like, am I going to be able to do this? Am I going to have tunnel vision? Were you able to just do it easily? Or was there a point? Because I mean, when I've dated, one time I dated two guys at once and I was just like, I can't keep up. Like, I'm telling them the same stories. I'm using the same, I'm like running the same game. Like, how has it been for you with like zero to 25? Honestly, it was really great. I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought that I, but in terms of like,
Starting point is 00:52:27 There's just every, I think every relationship had its own pros and cons. So I was able to kind of better figure out what did I need it in certain relationships. Like if one had this and the other didn't, then like it was easy to compare and contrasts of like why this is a good partner, why this is a bad partner. So I really liked that aspect of it. Yeah. That's so true. And you got a sexy cast of men. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:52:50 A lot of good people to look at. Yeah. Yeah. There was a lot of eye candy for sure. Did you have a Bachelor Nation crush before going into it? We all have one. I not necessarily like a crush. I mean, like I didn't really watch the seat.
Starting point is 00:53:15 Like I didn't watch the show until COVID started. I watched Jane's the season. And then I was kind of a fan after that. That's a good one. That's a good crush. But if I, I don't know. like maybe like Greg Gripo at something yes I just said that yesterday oh great yes I'm Tyler C for life I just oh he's a good one too yeah Greg yeah you just said that yesterday I said it yes Tyler seems unattainable
Starting point is 00:53:45 he was at he was at my house and like for an interview and I was like I can't even form sentences around this person yeah he's too hot Jason Jason Jason Tardick um okay I'm well I guess we would be remiss to ask you know, you're the first Asian American Bastorette. It's such a big deal to have representation on this show and try to diversify from the previous cast. How does it feel and how has like reactions been?
Starting point is 00:54:09 We would just love to hear your thoughts. Yeah, no, it's been honestly really, really great. I think Taylor's only in the mix of reactions, a little bit of racism, some bad stuff. And then also they're like really overwhelmingly positive comments. And I think for me, like, I just feel so honored and grateful that this is such a historic
Starting point is 00:54:27 moment and that I get to be the lead of it. And just hearing people's stories and how they can relate to me and how they've been waiting for this moment for so long. I know exactly how that feels like because I've been raining for this moment for so long. I grew up without Asian representation. I grew up without really seeing myself as a main character or leader in this role. And so it kind of deterred me from really seeing all the possibilities for myself. So I know exactly where people are coming from when they're like, oh, finally we get to see a bilingual family on TV. Finally, when they get to see the any means to do it on TV, like all that kind of stuff is, I get it because it makes you feel less alone. It makes you feel less different, you know,
Starting point is 00:55:06 and it normalizes it. Totally. And of course, we hate to hear that there's any negativity surrounding it. This stuff like gets us very fired up. Like hearing about like Rachel's experience before and you. And so we're not going to get into all that today, but just know that where you have no tolerance for it. And we hope that you feel like the Bachelor franchise has you're back when it comes that stuff too. But I'm just curious. Like, did you feel like any, was there any pressure? Was there any like I'm representing this? Or were you just like, no, full theme ahead. Like, I got this. Okay. Well, when I was first, when I was first now, it was like, I felt so much pressure because I was like, how am I going to be able to make
Starting point is 00:55:46 everybody happy? I want to make my Vietnamese culture happy. I want to make American people have. I just want to get everybody happy. But that's an impossible feat to do. And at the end of the day. I really was just like, if I just go about my drink, thinking about other people, then it's not going to serve me a purpose. So I really just did it the most authentic way that I could and stay true to myself. And I didn't worry about how Vietnam music am I and how American I am because I'm such a mix of both. And that's going to be unique to the individual. So I very much just went about it in the way that I would live my normal life, just being me. Yeah. That's amazing. And I think it really showed you really seem at ease. You seem comfortable and confident. You seem comfortable and
Starting point is 00:56:25 confident, you're not doing too much, you're still a little spicy, you know, it was really nice to watch. Yeah, and I just love that you realize you can't please everybody. It's the thing we say every single day. Like, it's, you'll drive yourself crazy if you tried, so. Yeah. Exactly. So we, we heard that, we heard that you were engaged. Did you say that on call her daddy? Or is this, are we making this up? Are we making this up? Uh, I don't know. I saw that. Okay, we did it. Okay. We thought, we're not. We're not. We're not. We're not. We're not trying to give any spoilers away. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:56 We saw that you said that, but if you didn't, Jen, just wink if you're engaged. That's Tess's fault. I did not say that I was engaged. And, yeah. Are there any fun, like, teasers that you can give us for the season? There's a lot of twists and turns. Okay. I mean, you saw the big trailer at the end of it.
Starting point is 00:57:16 Yeah. Yeah. I was, there were a lot of surprises every day. I was kind of, like, on the edge of I see. and surprising in terms of like people showing up in terms of like my emotions for different guys just changing every day. So I was very, very surprised with a lot of the events that were happening. With all the like twists and turns, were you surprised by what you learned about yourself? Did you like surprise your own self? So much. So, so much. You know, like in previous relationships,
Starting point is 00:57:45 I've always really shied away from speaking up for myself or like talking about certain hard topics and having a strict opinion on something because they thought that if I spoke up about my beliefs, the other person wouldn't like me anymore, the other person would leave me because I didn't agree with me. But like, good, you should leave me if you don't agree with me or if you don't want to be with me because of that. Because that's who I am. And so I really learned not to hide myself anymore and to really speak up for myself and when I believe in because at the end of the day, I wanted a true partnership with somebody who
Starting point is 00:58:15 knows all of me and accepts all of me. I love it. I have to ask, every time I I watched the season, I always like wonder this. Like did you find it harder than you could have imagined to break up with these people? Like being the person that's like doing, I think we're also scared of like getting broken up with rejection. But like sometimes doing the breaking up is like so painful and heartbreaking. So I was wondering if you like even were prepared for that or if that surprised you. Yes and no. It definitely isn't easy having so many people's emotions and
Starting point is 00:58:50 your hands. But at the same time, I don't know, I took solace in knowing that, like, if I just kept these people around and kept leaving them on, that that would be even worse. And I can't fake anything. So for me, it was almost like, I don't know, to me, I really respected the men. And a lot of the connections were strong with a lot of them also started as friendships. So out of respect for a friendship, you know, I was kind of okay with sending them home. So I was like, I didn't want to lead anybody on. Oh, absolutely. It was hard, but also,
Starting point is 00:59:25 but also, like, it made sense to me. I ended up confusing. That's a good way to look at it. Right. And, like, they know what they signed up for. One person wins at the end of this. You know, like, there's a chance you could go home. Did you talk to any, like, former Bachelor Nation girlies who were, like,
Starting point is 00:59:40 the leads before that, like, gave you advice on, like, how to axe people? Or any other advice at all. Did you get any other advice from the other leads of the bachelorette? I had an extensive phone call with Michelle Gallen before. I accepted the position as a bachelor's because I wanted to know from a personal color's perspective, like what she thought of being lead in Bachelor Nation and how she felt around the racism. If she felt like being lead really, like, was it worse dealing with all the hate comments?
Starting point is 01:00:12 Like, was there actual change? And did she feel like she, they treated the process? she enjoyed the journey, was it worth it for her? You know, so it was really nice to be able to get to have that phone call beforehand and really understand exactly everything I was getting myself into, you know? Great question. Yeah, I love that. I hate that those conversations have to happen in the first place, but I, like, that you
Starting point is 01:00:35 had, that you were like, is it worth it, you know, like, is it ever worth it to put yourself out there regardless, you know, when you know that just the nature of the beast. So I'm glad that whatever the outcome of that conversation was, you decided that it was worth it because yeah absolutely i mean i mean she said it was worth it too and and to me she was just like you know keep your head strong and you're going to get haters but like you're going to make change at the end of the day um and she really believed in the journey as well despite how it ended for her of her so that made me excited to know that she still believed in the journey and um and and so yeah okay well we'd love to play a little game with you if you're down for it we were literally
Starting point is 01:01:15 just coming up with this last night we were like what can we do that's like a little more fun and not all the same questions that you've been getting. So we put together a would you rather for you. Oh, I love that. We'll pitch you two scenarios and you'll tell us which you would prefer. Okay. Would you rather a guy have watched your previous season and researched you or going blind? Going blind.
Starting point is 01:01:41 Okay. Yeah. I think so because I think it's kind of creepy when somebody like does all this. Yeah. Anyway, it's endeared everyone. It's like men of all research, but when you're just like really getting to know we through the internet, I think that's a little bit. Totally. Okay.
Starting point is 01:01:56 Would you rather your partner be a virgin virgin or a love virgin? Oh, gosh, that's a hard one. I think of a love virgin. I don't know what to do with the other one. Same girl. That was an easy one. We loved an easy one about you. I'm glad we're all on the same page.
Starting point is 01:02:17 Yeah, go for that one. Okay. Would you rather have a guy serenade you for an entire song? Or have, and I have to look him in the eyes the entire time. You have to look at it. No. I can't do that. Or film him doing a dance for TikTok.
Starting point is 01:02:33 Um, honestly film him doing a dance for TikTok because that's prime entertainment for me. If I can be a son of him. And I think it's embarrassing to look at someone. Well, I would get secondhand embarrassment staring at someone's eye as well as they're serenading me. Same. for three to three and a half to four minutes. Absolutely.
Starting point is 01:02:50 It's horrifying. Oh, God, no. Yeah. Okay. Would you rather have to remove a guy's face bandage every time you kiss or take off, or take off his body cast every time you have sex? Oh, God. Well, like, body cast.
Starting point is 01:03:09 Do they need it? Like, am I going to break his own? No, it's just for fun. It's recreational. Like, what's his name? It's fun. It's fun. It's fun.
Starting point is 01:03:16 It's fun. It's a fun body cast. The bandage. The bandage is, I feel like sounds easier or just leave the bandage on. I mean that. Oh, I love that. Kinky, Jen. Leave the bandage on.
Starting point is 01:03:27 That guy, I'm sorry, but to bandage your face up like that, you better be hot. Can you imagine she does an unboxing and he's just mid? Like, he was so sexy. I was like, if he is not sexy, I'm going to be like so mad about this. Okay, I got to tell you that. So Ashley and I know you did Jared Freed's podcast yesterday and I was watching. him talk about the season last night on his Instagram. And he said this, he made me laugh so hard. The crowd's reaction, all those men, when face bandage walked into the room without his face bandage,
Starting point is 01:03:57 and they all leapt up and they were screaming. It was like so extra. It was funny. It was a lot. It was interesting. I think they were glad just to stop looking at his bare ass. Like they were like, okay, we can finally look him in the eye. Yeah, but he didn't cover up his ass. That's what I'm saying. They were tired of looking at it. Oh, okay. Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think. Second one. Okay. Would you rather walk in on two of the guys fist fighting or kissing? Or making out?
Starting point is 01:04:23 Yes. Kissing. Yes. Yes. We need that representation. I love watching guys make out. I'll do it all day. I swear, I think some of them were making out.
Starting point is 01:04:36 Hotest tea of the season. You know they are. What else are they doing all night? Just show us the footage, Bachelor Nation. Give us. I know. I know things are. happening in that hotel. That would be such a twist. That's why guys are going on the bachelor
Starting point is 01:04:51 to jerk each other off. Oh my God. Raina. Okay. This one comes from Tessa and this one might be a thinker. Would you rather only have two on one dates all season, but a regular finale with the overnights or a regular season but no overnights? Oh, that is just demonic of you guys. That is great. Tessa. Honestly, I would have, I don't have two on ones all day long. Mm-hmm. Get those overnight. Yeah, get those overnight.
Starting point is 01:05:25 Yeah, get that D. You're like, I didn't stay here for two months to go home, just dried up. It's about the off-camera time, you know, making sure the guys are the same off-care where, you know. Totally. All right. Would you rather move to where your partner lives, have him move to you, or move somewhere new altogether? I would say move somewhere new altogether.
Starting point is 01:05:49 No, new adventure. We love that. I have one final question. It's just about the season. When you're in the room, you're giving the roses out, there's 25 guys. Do they feed you their names or do you legitimately? It's like four in the morning, right? Do you remember their names?
Starting point is 01:06:07 Honestly, on night at one, it's 10 a. And I'm fully up for 24 hours at that point. So I'm so original. And I'm already bad at my name. No, I did not remember every single name. That would be... You can't. No, you can't.
Starting point is 01:06:22 So kind of like in between each, like every few roses, I would kind of go back and be like, I want to give this one a rose. Just remind me his name. Totally. If you remembered every name, you're weird. I know. Who could do it?
Starting point is 01:06:36 That would be crazy. And also, you are, the first day, it's like a 24-hour shoot or something like that. That's what you're saying, like 10 in the morning. Yeah. All night. Yeah. Like every once in a while you see a first row ceremony and you can tell it's daytime.
Starting point is 01:06:49 Like the sun is up. Sometimes I feel like they try to hide that from you. And then other times people are like stumbling out of the mansion. It's like the sun is coming up. You can tell the Lakinta. Yeah. Well, Jen, you have been. You've just been great.
Starting point is 01:07:03 We're really excited to watch you on this season. You're just like such a bright light. I can't say enough good stuff about you. We've really enjoyed last night's episode. And we're excited to watch your journey. Yeah. Thank you. You guys are so sweet. Thank you so much. I'm excited for, I'm excited to see the rest of this evening too. I haven't seen any cuts or anything. So I'm really excited forever to watch at that. Okay. Perfect. Yeah. And if you happen to be in Boston over the holidays, we have a holiday show. We would love to have you there. Be our guest. Bring whoever. Bring your fiance.
Starting point is 01:07:32 No, but we'll, we'll follow up. And we have three shows. You can take your pick. So we'd love to have you there. Okay. I'd love that. Yeah. Let's do it. I'm always in Boston. I love that. Sounds good. We love it too. Same. I'll be there on Thursday. Thank you so much and we just can't wait to see the rest of the season. Thank you. You guys are so awesome. Thanks. Bye. Bye.
