Starting point is 00:00:00 The following podcast is a dear media production. I'm Josh Peck and I'm Ben Sopper. And we're the good guys. There's a lot of guys out there. And we're the good ones. Are we starting? We are rolling now on video. I can't when you guys do that.
Starting point is 00:00:20 The good guys love doing that. Like, easing into the recording. No, we know. And then I'm like sitting here with my Fabisinaplinum. No, we're not. We're ready. And we're going to give you a proper intro too. Okay.
Starting point is 00:00:30 We have a proper intro. But in this case, we are keeping that. me up. We are keeping in those first 20 seconds, Claudia, because it's too good. Anyway, Mazel morons, welcome back to the good guys podcast. I'm sitting here with the number one man in my life because I never met my dad. It's Ben Saver. And I'm sitting here with the number one woman in my life. My dearest, dearest wife, Claudia. Thank you so much for joining us. Why did you hesitate before wife? My dearest, dearest. I was thinking I like making a joke. Like, my dearest dearest mom, either. Like I was like going to make a joke. Oh, wow. Okay. I was going to make a joke.
Starting point is 00:01:03 Oh, wow. Pitting me. and Ava against one another. Little does he know, it's us against you. Yeah, no, that makes sense. And just so we are all clear, we are airing this episode, the week that the toast is off so we can capitalize on the views.
Starting point is 00:01:14 Yeah. Okay, that's the only reason we're doing this. And Claudia is so with us. She's here because she understands that it's right for our podcast to do that. And we want to give the toasts a little something as well. So this is a gift to the toaster. Oh, they're giving the toast.
Starting point is 00:01:27 Well, the toast is out of session. Yes, yes, yes. It's so good to see you guys. I hope you miss me as much as I miss you. I hope your lives are miserable without me. and that the sound of my voice has brought you back from a deep dark depression. I love you all. Yes.
Starting point is 00:01:38 But you did team me up. I must ask Ben, was Ava the great Ava your mother ever threatened by the love of your life, Claudia? Never. No, Eva was such a queen. Never. They have a great relationship.
Starting point is 00:01:50 And the truth is, my mom knows that Claude really just like, just like made me better. Oh my God. That's so nice. Thank you. It's true. That's sweet.
Starting point is 00:01:59 Because my mom was absolutely the best mom, but she was definitely so. She was soft. Claude really just like took a big iceberg and made it. Not a big iceberg. No, you and filed me down. You're kind of a fabulous person now because you were raised by Ava who's so soft. Yes.
Starting point is 00:02:17 And so gentle and so patient. And then like you were also raised because we met when you were super young, raised by me with like, you know, my, my method is tough love. So what we got between like Ava and I's extremisms on both sides is kind of a perfect human being. My God. Clip it.
Starting point is 00:02:33 He is perfect. He's pretty close to perfect. Although I am upset that he didn't defend your honor the other day at the movie theater. Go for it. Then you are not recording on your video. I pressed it. You're not recording. Happy for you.
Starting point is 00:02:49 I'm so glad I just noticed that. Okay. Now you're recording. I was recording. Oh, I was scared. Thank God that was only three minutes in. The studio is broken. Yeah, the studio is broken.
Starting point is 00:03:01 Okay, cool. Yeah, we're good. Josh was asking if you were upset that I didn't. your honor at the movie theater last night because I said that I ran into Cuba Gooding Jr. By the way, I talked about this on the toast. Ben comes into bed. I'm so tired. He's chatting on and on about all the snacks he ate at the movie theater. Like the big story from the movie theater is that you saw my arch nemesis, not that you had frozen lemonade. Like nobody cares. Right. And he's going on and on. And he finally gets to the, you know,
Starting point is 00:03:22 the meat and potatoes of the story. And he's like, and I was going to say something to Cuba Jr. But I didn't. Like, oh, okay. Thanks. No, I couldn't. I couldn't. I couldn't. Why? Why? I don't know. Like, I can't fight him. What if he got Hansy? What if I ran into your like childhood arch nemesis? Like the person who invented your mean nickname Ben Socker, what if I ran into that person and I didn't say anything to them?
Starting point is 00:03:49 You wouldn't say anything to them. Because I'm just a little girl. You're a big burly man and you didn't stand up for your wife. And you have to live with that. I'll be fine. The truth is, the truth is if you saw Kula Gooding Jr. in the flesh, you would know that this man looked so beaten down.
Starting point is 00:04:03 He looked terrible. like his skin looked bad. He isn't shaved in months. You like caring about him. No, I don't care. I don't care. I don't know. You're not coming out looking like a good guy.
Starting point is 00:04:14 Oh, God. In Ben's defense, he did say something to Cuba, but it was, excuse me, you're blocking the butter. Yeah. No. Did you actually? No. No, I thought you were going to say,
Starting point is 00:04:25 Ben did say something to Cuba, but it was excuse me, I loved you in Snowdogs. I did. What a movie? Was he boat day? What was it? Boat Day. No.
Starting point is 00:04:34 What about a boat? Something. It was in Pearl Harbor. No, no, no. There was a dumb movie with a boat. Titanic. All right, whatever. Rat race?
Starting point is 00:04:43 He'll always have snow boats. That's a classic. So good. God, is it good. I've never seen it. Shut up. I've never seen it. Josh, do you understand what I'm dealing with here?
Starting point is 00:04:57 Have either of you ever seen Stick It? Of course. It's great Missy Paragem. Oh my God. have seen it. Jeff Bridges. Are you kidding me? Josh,
Starting point is 00:05:06 why weren't you in that movie? You should have been in that movie. The great Vanessa Lengie is who played my love interest on Turner and Hoot's Disney Plus, short-lived one season. She is in that movie. She's brilliant. And I have to admit I had an absurd crush on Missy in that movie. Literally same. I talked about it today on the toes.
Starting point is 00:05:26 It is a movie that has carried me through my entire life, especially with the Olympics being on and everything I know about gymnastics. I know from that movie. It's not called gymnastics. sticks. It's literally the best movie of all time. You know what? I feel we're missing. And this is why, and I'm going to, I have a big revelation here today, guys, which is I think I'm finally ready for a Hallmark movie. I just want to be in one. I like that. Oh, to act in one? Yeah. Let me tell you, first of all, I consume Hallmark movies. I think that are the greatest pieces of content and media of our generation. But you know what I've heard because someone I know was in one and I had a million questions because to me it's so mysterious like this universe of like fake movies. And they're not, you know, particularly high budget. But I, I was like, what was the experience like? And this is a person who has worked on a lot of like TV shows and stuff. And they were like, it is hands down the best gig in the industry. You are treated so well.
Starting point is 00:06:12 From the trailers, craft services, it's like really premium for the actors. It's a very respectful set. It's very high budget in terms of like actors first. I think you get paid really well. And I've heard fabulous things about the actual working experience on that show. I agree. I'm open. I'm ready.
Starting point is 00:06:28 I'm ready to go. They had initially contacted me during the time when I was about to go do Oppenheim. And I was just in that Oppenheimer place, your boy's a method actor, you get it. But right now, I am ready to be light, happy, and free. Hallmark. Let me ask you a question. Obviously, Oppenheimer is like the best thing, like the biggest, most major thing that anyone's ever done.
Starting point is 00:06:48 And do you feel like now every time you make a decision in your career? You're like, well, how does that go with Oppenheimer? Because like Hallmark doesn't go with Oppenheimer. You know, granted, it's not the biggest part. So it's not a total defining. By the way, it wasn't not important. You literally pushed a button. You did.
Starting point is 00:07:07 It was big. We were screaming when we watched it. Yes. We were like a year too late watching it. We finally saw it a couple months ago. We were screaming. Like, it was, you would definitely underplay it so that when we sat down to watch it, we were like, oh, he's an extra. The way you describe it.
Starting point is 00:07:22 Sure. No, you had lines. You press the button. You had this whole, the climax of the movie is like your big moment. Was this me? Ooh. We were screaming. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:07:32 know if Christopher Nolan really is that brilliant that he constructed it as the ultimate millennial jump scare with me walking through those doors? Because I'm sure half the people were like, what's Josh Peck doing here? But you know what? Do you think that Christopher Nolan understands your cultural impact on a certain generation? Here's the thing. I think he's... Or did he just choose you because he thought you were a great actor and a handsome guy? God bless you. I think he's film first, always. What serves the film first? But I think he has a brilliant business mind as you have to when you're operating at that level. And he has kids that are in their late teens, early 20s.
Starting point is 00:08:11 So obviously my demo. And he knew like my boy, Devin Bostic, who was in The Diary of a Wimpy Kid. He like talked about it on an interview. And he's in it too. So I just don't think there's a world in which Drake and Josh wasn't somewhere in the background of Christopher Nolan's house. Wow. Yeah, I agree.
Starting point is 00:08:27 Well, you crushed it. We loved every minute of it. But I imagine it, you know, it's a blessing. also a curse because you have this sort of desire to do a Hallmark movie, but how can you kind of reconcile doing a Hallmark movie in Oppenheimer in the same decade? I just don't think you can put Josh Peck in a box. And I think that's the title of the episode. And okay, let me ask you another question because on the toast, we are always coming up with plots for different Hallmark movies. They all follow the same formula, you know, small town, big city girl comes back for a
Starting point is 00:08:55 weekend. She doesn't want to, you know, she doesn't want to come, but then she ends up moving there and falling in love with like the ranch farmer, okay? But tell me a little bit about how you see yourself playing into this formula, you know? Because you are Jewish and they do have like once a year, like a Jewish one. It's horrible. Like I would never want to be cast in that one. Nobody watches that. No, it's fun.
Starting point is 00:09:13 The Hanukkah one that they came out with last year. It was, it was about a lot of competition. Yes. And by the way, I love her, but Maim Bialik did one on the Lifetime Network. So it was like not Hallmark,
Starting point is 00:09:28 it was Lifetime. And then it wasn't Christmas. It was Hanukkah. When I was on tour, I couldn't find a channel to watch anything. The only thing on was this like, turn my ambialic lifetime Hanukkah movie. It was so horrible.
Starting point is 00:09:39 It actually changed my opinion of her. Like, that's how powerfully bad the movie was. So you do have to be careful. Agreed. I mean, I'm down to go full Christmas and like abandoned my Judaism. And just because I think we're the same, Claudia. Like I'm Christmas obsessed.
Starting point is 00:09:54 Oh my God. It's such a push and pull like a tug within me every year. Not to get a Christmas tree. And every time I think I get close, something significant happens in the culture. Like last year, if I was thinking about it, after October 7th, I was like not even fucking around with the idea.
Starting point is 00:10:08 I was like so Jewish at that time. You know, every couple of years, I get dangerously close. Jackie's always the one who reels me in. She's like, listen, it's not ours. And so much of Christmas has become like not so much religious, but more so cultural, like in America, I feel like, you know,
Starting point is 00:10:24 so much of the Christy shtick isn't really even about like Christ or the Bible. It's just about like vibes, lights, things of that nature. And like, I guess he could have a tree. And, you know, some people, you know, they get a white tree. It's a Hanukkah Bush. But like at the end of the day, it's like another religion's thing. Like, I'm not about that life. You've stopped doing it.
Starting point is 00:10:39 But from the day that we met, Josh, I don't know if you know this. Claudia and her family used to go to the Christmas spectacular every single year at Radio City. I would go as well. And I think that we by the end, like, saw the significance of the Jesus. Let me tell you. Let me tell you. So every year at Radio City, it's the Radio City Rockets. They do like a Christmas spectacular starting in, I think, like, October.
Starting point is 00:10:59 There's like a show every day. it's fabulous. It's like New York at Christmas. What a sight. Like it's very glitz glam, New York at Christmas. It's not religious at all. It just talks about like snow and lights and Santa and the Rockettes are dancing in these fabulous outfits. They do that toy.
Starting point is 00:11:16 There's like a little nutcracker skit. They do the toy soldier. It's like iconic. And I've been going my whole life. There's one scene in the musical that's the nativity scene because it is technically a play about Christmas. And when we were kids, that was like, that was our cue to leave. It's at the very end.
Starting point is 00:11:34 So we would leave right before that. I had never seen it. And we still like into our adulthood when I have pictures from like literally me in high school, me in college and we always went. It's the best most fabulous show. I can't recommend it enough for people of all religions and denominations. It's really fabulous. But I watched the nativity scene for the first time as like an adult when I didn't like have to run out
Starting point is 00:11:51 of the theater. And it was definitely religious. Like it was really powerful stuff. And I understood why we ran when we did. But you know. Yeah. Well, you can do, look, the truth is the last supper was a Seder. And the nativity scene is a bunch of Jews kicking it. So you just kind of have to put that gloss over it.
Starting point is 00:12:13 But I, dare I say, kids, I think we have just come up with my Hallmark movie. Because my friend always makes the point to say, listen, Christmas wins full stop always. But us Jews with our Hanukkah, with our Christmas traditions, we kind of kill it too. Why? What could be better than a roast with what do they do, prime rib and stuffing and all these things? It's basically a Thanksgiving do-over on Christmas Eve. It's ham, I think. You know what's better than that kids? Chinese food.
Starting point is 00:12:49 Far and away. So much better. It is. You know what's better than one day it gives? Eight. So maybe it's about two people. They're falling in love. They come from different backgrounds, a beat around.
Starting point is 00:13:02 Jewish kid from the Upper West Side. An interfaith hallmark movie. That's what I'm talking about. And they blend their holidays into a Christmas. Christmica. Christmica. I love that. And now we're back to the OC.
Starting point is 00:13:16 That reminds me of my all-time favorite joke is how do you know that Jesus was Jewish? How? Because his mother thought he was a God. It's so good. It is. Starting point is 00:16:17 I want to talk for a second, Josh. I know that you weren't able to come, but Claudia and Jackie just sold out the Beacon Theater four straight nights
Starting point is 00:16:25 in two weeks, 3,000 people apiece. I can't even tell you. She's done it herself, touring, comedy. It's been amazing. Watching them on stage, The whole thing is improv.
Starting point is 00:16:37 They get in front of 3,000 people with really, like, you have like a rough idea of what you're going to say. But the whole time it's improv. They're singing. You talk about like being the millennial in Oppenheimer, bringing back all of that juice. You're singing Hanna Montana. It's the most unbelievable spectacle you've ever seen. So I wanted to just give her her flowers, but also just talk about like, like, I've never seen
Starting point is 00:16:55 anything like it. And what is that like? Like, what's it like? Do you ever talk about this on the toast? Like, what's it like performing at the Beacon Theater? Oh, it's the best thing on the planet. And I had done it before by myself. And it's like doing standup comedy is the most horrible.
Starting point is 00:17:09 Like whatever you imagine it to me, it's worse. Like it's the most horrible thing on the planet. And it's so gratifying to get those laughs. And like when people are clapping at the end, like there's nothing better because you're done. But to be able to do it with Jackie and do like, you know, more improv and less memory. It's so much more relaxed for me.
Starting point is 00:17:22 Like I enjoy the experience so much more than I enjoy doing standup comedy because it requires less. I'm 50% of something, not 100% of something. So I love it. There's something so like mega about hearing people clap for you. It's like seriously the most addictive thing on the planet. But you actually came out at one of the shows. I think it was the second show.
Starting point is 00:17:38 We just like kind of ripped you into just coming on stage and and waving. And how did that feel? Yeah. They were upset, Josh. We didn't talk about this. But in terms of like the loudometer, you have that at like the garden. My cheers were pretty loud. I think they were threateningly loud.
Starting point is 00:17:54 So they kicked me off the stage pretty quickly. But yes, it felt it felt unbelievable. What about a good guy's live show? Would that ever be a possible? Oh, yeah. We're going to do it. We're going to do it. We're just waiting until we're trying threatening.
Starting point is 00:18:06 Yeah, we're going to do it. Yeah, we're going to fucking do it. You're going to come and you're going to perform. Oh, so I'm doing my show. Yeah, you're going to open for us. Yeah. No, it was amazing. I would love to do it.
Starting point is 00:18:16 I don't think Jackie and I are, you know, the job that we do is very, you know, not traditional, but I think we try to structure our days as most, you know, conventionally as we as possible. We very much like work like nine to five Monday through Friday jobs. The toast has given us that sort of opportunity and Jack's being a mom. Like, you know, touring is not really an option. for us in terms of how we live our life. We very much work day jobs and try to live
Starting point is 00:18:37 a more conventional schedule and timeline. So, you know, going out on the road for three months at a time is not really a possibility. So figuring out a way to do live shows like we just did, you know, spending the summer in New York, doing live shows in the Hamptons, Atlantic City and New York City. I'm glad that we found a way that we're able to do it. And I'm sure we'll do Florida at one point.
Starting point is 00:18:55 We have no plans to, but I'm sure we will. So that feels good to be able to figure out a way around because touring is just not really something we can do. Well, these freaking shows are amazing. And the next time they go live. Everybody should buy these tickets. Thank you so much. They are amazing.
Starting point is 00:19:07 What does your rider look like? What are you having backstage waiting for you? So every time we do a show, we like make a list of things we need to add because we never have enough of whatever. But first and foremost, it's snacks. You know, we're chips, pretzels, chocolate covered pretzels types of girls like popcorn and big glaze. We love boom chica pop. Tons of beverages, sparkling water, Diet Coke, sugar-free red bowl, still water, tequila and wine. but we're also, we spend a lot of time in the dressing rooms because we do pretty severe glam.
Starting point is 00:19:36 So that's like two, three hours in a chair. So we have blankets, robes. That's like the most important slippers. That's the most important part of the rider because we just show up in like leggings and it's always just freezing and we're sitting in these chairs. So blankets, robes. We really don't have anything crazy. We've got like sewing kits, cosmetic, you know, makeup wipes, tide sticks. Like really nothing that's going to, you know.
Starting point is 00:19:56 I think you would admit that honestly your rider specifically from a food and beverage perspective could you use. could use some work. Like I walk in ravenous as always. Well, it's not about you. There's nothing to eat. Well, that's the other thing. Like, you want to take advantage of the fact that there's, like, this, this, you know, team of people who are asking you what you want to eat.
Starting point is 00:20:15 It could be very easy to get enormous and fat if you aren't, like, somewhat regimented. Just having people at your beck and call to get whatever you want. No, but like even the fruit platter, there's like a big generic fruit platter. We love a fruit platter. Yeah, but like, why can you specify, like, you want, you want better fruit. I have no problem with the fruit. And at the end of the day, like your complaints.
Starting point is 00:20:34 I'm the only one eating the fruit. You're not even touching the fruits. I'm not interesting to me because you are not the star of the show. So maybe when you go on tour, you can have your own special fruit. I also have a meal, Josh. You know what my meal is at all of these shows? What?
Starting point is 00:20:45 A piece of salmon in a tin. I don't want tin salmon from a random to go plate. I think it's insane that you're having people bring you salmon. Agreed. It's not. I agree. I didn't ask for it. I didn't ask for it.
Starting point is 00:21:00 I think it's, I think it's funny. I think it's funny that you are sitting here complaining when we ordered ourselves dinner. You're like, I'm recording good guys. I don't know what time I'll get there. And we think of you. We're like, oh, Ben's coming to the show. Maybe we got you a Kelsey's or with salmon.
Starting point is 00:21:14 It's not like a random. Wow. Great order. What a great order. Yeah. He didn't eat it either time and a beet salad. I'm happy that you thought of me. I'm happy that you thought of me.
Starting point is 00:21:23 Would you like to tell them what I did for every show? Tell us. Stand around and complain about the food. Would you like to tell them what I did for every single show? That's what you did. I drove them to and from Josh. No. No.
Starting point is 00:21:35 No. No. One time I didn't drive you there. We did four shows in the Hamptons. You drove us to two and you drove us back from four. Four. Okay. That's a lot.
Starting point is 00:21:45 It was an hour drive. 30 minutes. What the hell else were doing? And by the way, please don't do me favors. If you're just going to talk about it on your podcast, like you want people to think you're like a great husband. No,
Starting point is 00:21:55 seriously. Think. Why? No, people should think you're a great husband because you're a great husband. not because you told them that you drove her wife 30 minutes. Wow, he drove his wife 30 minutes. Like, don't do good things just so you can brag about it on your podcast.
Starting point is 00:22:07 Just do them and shut up. See, Josh, this is why I didn't beat up Cuba Gooding Jr. Because if I had beaten up Cuba Gooding Jr., all that you would have said is that I did it so that people would praise me. Okay, so right. So you drive your wife and you want credit for it, but then you run into your wife's absolute childhood arch nemesis and you do nothing. Right.
Starting point is 00:22:23 He's such a good guy. He is. Got him. He's the best. But I understand. It's hard because you want to. You cannot keep, there's an old saying, there's two types of people in a relationship, one who's keeping count of things and the other one who's losing, right?
Starting point is 00:22:39 Like, because it's true. Like, and that's what we do. We do that for each other. And Paige and I and Paige my beautiful Gentile queen who wouldn't hurt anyone will sometimes be like, Josh, what are you nuts? And she will give me the bullet points. And I'll be like, good point. Maybe I am a piece of shit.
Starting point is 00:22:55 So. No, by the way, that's so funny. I've never heard that quote, but I don't agree with that. I do. I think it's a guy thing. We were just talking about. I should say there's always one person keeping score and the other person's losing. Okay, the thing is I am not keeping score and I think I'm winning. Because Ben was like bringing something up in the pool yesterday. Like I'm like, how do you even remember that? Like you're so like he's like I'm keeping score. And I'm like, okay, like I do
Starting point is 00:23:19 good things and generous things because I love you. Yes, me too. Not in exchange for something, not so I can throw it back in your face because you, I don't know why I'm a secure happy woman. I do it for both. I don't know if you can say the same. Josh, do you keep score. Of course. Of course you do. It's a guy thing. Guys just remember. I don't know if it's keeping score or we just keep tabs.
Starting point is 00:23:37 But like instead of, you know, keeping score, like maybe your brain is occupied so much with keeping score that that's what you keep forgetting. Like all the shit I ask you to do, you know? I understand. I don't do enough. No, no. I understand. Yeah. I don't do enough.
Starting point is 00:23:50 Okay. But the thing is, and this happens a lot and I can't even get mad at you because I don't think there's any malintent. But like if I ask you to do something and you don't do it. Like, and it's because you genuinely forgot, right? And it's no. It's not like you don't want to hell. me. It's not like you're evil. You just forgot. And that's totally fine and natural, but you forget all the time. Name one thing. Maybe if you weren't so busy keeping scoring, you could have more
Starting point is 00:24:09 storage in your brain to remember to go to UPS. I feel like every time I come home and I'm like, go to UPS. Ben, it's an example. Ben, it's an example. No, I think, look at me and look at me. Like, think about when we're out, like, when we're home in the apartment, normal times. And you come home, you're like, on your way home, can you pick up whatever? And I come in and I'm like, did you get the toilet paper? He's like, oh. And he walks right back out. Like, He doesn't even come in. That is the important part. He walks right back out every single time.
Starting point is 00:24:37 No, it's not huge. I've never, I've never, I've never, I've never, I've never, I've never, I've never, I've never once not actually gotten it occasionally. I will have forgotten every time to get the, I know, the toilet paper on the way home. I will go out to get it so that we can wipe our beautiful buttocks. I know that if I want Ben to bring something home, like I'll text him. Let's say he's coming home in a five, I'll text him at three. Like, hey, on your way home, can you?
Starting point is 00:25:00 pick up toilet paper. And he's always, of course. I know it's not coming. But if it's something that I really need, I will track his location at like 447 when you're actually leaving. I'll say, reminder, toilet paper. It's like all the effort I put into reminding you, I should just go and get my fucking toilet paper. You're right. I'm a shit mule. I'm a shit mule. Another title, shipmule. Good to know. Shipmule. Ben is my mule for sure. I will say I love being married for a million reasons. I love you, of course. But I'm also a person who like deeply needs. needs companionship. Like I don't like being alone.
Starting point is 00:25:32 I'm not like inherently crazy independent. And another reason like I love marriage, one that doesn't get talked about enough. And like as a woman in a heterosexual marriage is like the lifting. And like I have not carried my own bags through an airport in 10 years. Oh, I know. It's the most. Josh, you have to see it.
Starting point is 00:25:51 Keep me. These are not carry on bags. Josh. We're talking about checked bags internationally. I'm liking. two checked, a purse, two pair of, a backpack for like three inches. 180 pounds of to me luggage, I'm guessing.
Starting point is 00:26:08 When we travel, I really try to always keep my shit in checked bags. And I like really skirt the rules. So even when we, when we don't check bags and we're walking through, it's like the biggest heaviest duffel you've ever literally carried in your life, along with the biggest heaviest suitcase. I really like push to the limits. And I know that I can do that because I have a mule.
Starting point is 00:26:26 And when I'm traveling by myself, which is very rare, like, I'm bringing one thing, and I'm checking it. Aren't we done with these ugly pans? They're beautiful. I have this like seafone green. They're awesome. I love them. They're non-toxic. Carrowe products are made without any toxic materials, which is important to me. It's important that I don't ingest toxins. Why would you go for a pan that has toxins? You know, go non-toxic. It's easy cooking because they're made of ceramic, so they're naturally slick. You don't need a ton of oil. You don't need a ton of butter. You can just crack an egg on a pan and it's going to cook. Are you so averse to doing something alone, Claudia, like, would you go down to the pool in order of lunch for yourself
Starting point is 00:30:53 and sit with a book and just wait for Ben or not? That's an interesting question because as she says that she wouldn't keep score, she would do it and then she'd be mad at me all day about it. No, no, no, that's not that's not going to say.
Starting point is 00:31:06 I wouldn't like plan to do anything by myself on, like if we were doing a trip, I don't like to be by myself. But because you posed it as the pool, you know, I went from the house I grew up in to living with Ben. Like I never had like independent years I don't like being alone.
Starting point is 00:31:23 I'm like afraid of the dark. I watched like a lot of SVU growing up. I hate being alone. That's why I'm like afraid to ever leave the city. Like I don't want to live in a house. So many doors, so many point of entries. Like it really freaks me out.
Starting point is 00:31:34 But when we go on vacation, I don't like to do things by myself, but I often find that like I am sitting at the pool reading by myself because Ben has some sort of like mental illness where he cannot sit still. Like he'll be like, let's go to the pool. He'll sit for three minutes before he's like, you want to go play,
Starting point is 00:31:47 but he hates laying by the pool. I mean, even this summer, I have spent every single day, I wake up, I podcast, and I'm outside for the rest of the day. Reading, swimming, laying by the pool. Ben has not been there for more than five minutes every day. He cannot tan. Like, he cannot chill.
Starting point is 00:32:01 Correct. Neither can Josh. I can't. I like laying out by the pool, but I'm a big loner. For how long? No, I'll lay. I honestly, she's exaggerating. I'll lay for a half hour.
Starting point is 00:32:12 I can't lay for more than that. I can't. I could. Unless I'm trying to get a tan, unless like we're going to some party and I need a nice tan, then I can lay. But otherwise, I can't just, I can't just do nothing. I can't. I'd rather walk on the beach.
Starting point is 00:32:26 I'd rather go swimming in the pool. I'd rather go swimming in the ocean. I'd rather play pickleball. I'd rather do a sport and activity. It's so annoying. Yeah, no, I need to do things. I need to do things. I'm more interested to hear your aversion to being alone.
Starting point is 00:32:39 Is there ever like, but is there any head chatter? Like, is it using people to distract from something that's going on with your thoughts? No, I just enjoy people's company. Like, I'm not one of those people. people who like needs to be by myself and like recharge. I am a person who needs to be home and I need to recharge before like being social, but not alone. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:33:03 I just, I grew up in like a loud house, a house with a lot of people and I have a lot of siblings and I just, I like being around not everyone, not all people, certain people, but like my people, people who I'm comfortable with,
Starting point is 00:33:14 people who are my family. Like I, when Ben, because I have a flexible like work situation, so I'm home a lot. And if Ben, leaves, I'm like, where are you going? It's debilitating. That's why it's amazing having a dog, too. Wow. Even when I go to the bathroom, Josh, like we're in the house, I'll get up to go to the
Starting point is 00:33:31 bathroom. Where are you going? Yeah. No. The bathroom. I'm like crazy clinging. That's a lot. That's a lot. That's a lot. I know what's good. But you have the perfect man for you. I do. You do. And it works. And if he does something like goes to golf or whatever, a normal outing, even though golf isn't normal, but we don't have to get into that. It's exacerbated for me. because it's like, oh, you left me home for four hours. Four hours for me is like 12 hours for another human being. But that does sound like a little bit of keeping score. How?
Starting point is 00:34:00 Because it's reactionary for him doing something that he loves and you feeling the need to not, I won't say punish, but it's like I would assume that you would just sort of say he just had a great time for the day doing something that he loves and no need for me to have a reaction. Did I say I had a reaction? I just said it's hard for me. I said it's hard for me.
Starting point is 00:34:24 Okay, maybe not. And by the way, and by the way, if the frequency in which golf was played was remotely normal, yes, I'm an understanding. By the way,
Starting point is 00:34:32 it's really normal. I have my own hobbies as well. Like, I understand I'm not an unreasonable person. And if he gives me like a decent amount of a notice being like, hey, Sunday, I'm out. I'll wake up at 6 a.m.
Starting point is 00:34:43 And I'll be back at dark. If I get a reasonable amount of time in terms of notice and also the same, is happening once a month and not twice a week. I'm very reasonable. But at what point is it not keeping score if he's being unreasonable? Now you put yourself, now you're a mediator. So now at what point am I allowed to be upset?
Starting point is 00:35:01 I think there, I think you're that's valid. First of all, allow me to validate your feelings. You're validating. I think, yeah, there's probably a middle ground somewhere in there. I think there's a healthy middle ground where you can both be happy and and not feel overly stressed. And yeah, a full day. So I'm not keeping score.
Starting point is 00:35:18 Take it back. Scorish. Take it back. I'm not keeping score. I'm not. Wait to my score. Josh, take it back. I know what you look like there's certain things and me and my buddy talk about this all the time.
Starting point is 00:35:31 I mean, we never talk about this page. I don't talk about you and I with other people. But like I'm a very active dad. I love it. And I also, besides the fact that I love it, I also know that I always feel a little bit like a mom borrowed time. Because the nature of my business is like I can. could have to go in a week and be gone for like and it's just an unfair the kind of at least to my kids of like what my job would require of me like I could literally be gone before they wake up and back
Starting point is 00:36:00 after they go to bed so like it's not that hard for me I would say 28 days out of 30 of the month I wake up with max and shy at 6 a.m. And I make them back at breakfast we hang out we watch Arthur we do our things page usually we'll wake up around 7 730 and it's It's like my pleasure. Like it's no big deal. And but I, I know that like I need to leave for a couple hours and like like two hours. So like work out. Like if I can go get a workout and schvitz at Equinox every day, I'm a better Josh.
Starting point is 00:36:36 Well, of course, that's the thing. It's like, you know, it appears that it's like it's selfish, right? Like you're leaving for hours to go do these things. But at the end of the day, it's like that's you could be becoming a better version of yourself for your kids. So it's like rising tides will raise all ships because you're more capable if you are carving out time for yourself. Yeah. And also like page is just like it's easier for me to wake up early. And it's easier for her to like hang out and not be as worried about getting her workout in on certain things.
Starting point is 00:37:05 If it's like it's a difference of two hours of sleep like can really destroy them. And for some people it doesn't affect them as much. Yeah. It's it's interesting how you sort of find. I don't know. I think so many men are bummers. like and there's just so many guides in my life that are just like kind of checked out dads and honestly like checked out husbands like yeah they're just so i have a question yeah we were talking about this
Starting point is 00:37:27 recently how do you how do you stay friends with somebody like that with with the way that like like whose values like so are so different from yours like if i like i know i'm going to be incredibly hands-on father i just know it and already i also like as you get older you you're gonna you're going to have friends that are like different. Like not great dad, not great husbands. And like, I have no choice but to not be friends with them anymore. Like if you're not, if you're not like awesome to your kids, we just, we have nothing in common here.
Starting point is 00:37:59 Like how do you, how do you do that? How do you separate the person from the husband or dad? Well, I think there's levels to being awesome to your kids. I think as far as like, you know, if you're super dad or you're slightly checked out, but you're a good provider and you're kind to your kids. You're just not as like there as I am maybe or you will be Ben. So it's hard to judge. But again, you look, isn't it fascinating when you see the people that you grow up with
Starting point is 00:38:27 to see who they marry? Because it says so much about them, doesn't it? I think it's also so interesting, like to hear how people talk about their wives, husbands, kids when they're not around, you know? And I know sometimes it's like, guys stuff to be like, oh, got to go back to the little volunteer. Jane, but if you have some deep admiration, respect, and love for your partner, you're not talking about them like that to your friends just to get a laugh, you know?
Starting point is 00:38:51 Agreed. Yeah, that's hacky. Totally. It is. It's like, I find it so interesting to see how people talk. And I think for the most part, Ben, you have really, really great friends who are like really good husbands and, and the few of them that are dads, like, are on their way to be in great dads. But I just think it's really interesting, especially, like, in male groups to hear how they talk about their partners. And just like the concept of being a husband.
Starting point is 00:39:12 No, and I won't call them out. but like we've had podcast guests. I think it's like a big thing in podcast. Like they'll come on and like they'll make jokes. Their shtick is about like their wife and their family. And like, yeah, I agree. So hacky as Josh put it. You know, we saw John Mullini over the weekend and a lot of his stick was family about he
Starting point is 00:39:30 has a two and a half year old and he's newly married. And so it was a lot about wife, kid, family in-laws. And it was so funny. And not once did it cross the line of being disrespectful. Like he really was able. You can be funny without. being mean. And I think as a man when you're talking about like wife and kids, it's so easy. Like the more common route is like, oh, fucking bitch. Like it's kind of, it's a pretty typical
Starting point is 00:39:55 brand of comedy. And so for him to do it, he's at the top of his game. He could really say whatever he wants. For him to, like, my takeaway from that was like, wow, John Mullini's so funny, but he's also such an involved partner and respectful husband. Like that was my takeaway. That's a really, that's talent, in my opinion. Like to not throw everyone you love under the bus for a laugh, but still be funny. I want to stay on John Malini for a second because I was a fan. Now I'm like a super fan. I thought he did like the funniest 70 minutes.
Starting point is 00:40:21 Josh, we saw him at the Montauk Lighthouse, which is the furthest point. We've literally never been there. It could not be further from New York. It's closer to Nantucket mileage-wise than it is to Manhattan, even though it's all Long Island, the absolute end of Long Island. We saw him and he was so funny. That one bit, can you recall it better than me about the ISIS interrogation? It was so funny.
Starting point is 00:40:44 I feel like Josh would love it. I will. But you, by the way, you do this thing. We're like whenever we go to a comedy event, you for days are resized. You're re-telling people's like jokes and bits. And it never ever translates because you can't. Like the whole thing about John Mullaney is like he has great stories.
Starting point is 00:41:01 Yeah, but it's how he tells that. Okay, but sure. Anyways. Did you tell the Bethany Frankel story on the podcast today? I did. We have to tell it on good guys. No, I just told it. Feel free to go listen to it on my podcast.
Starting point is 00:41:09 She does fascinates me. I'll tell Josh quickly just because he didn't hear it. Fascinates me. My mom's a fan of hers. Josh, we go to this concert. Claudia gets us VIP of VIP tickets. We're sitting in the front row and there are names on our seats.
Starting point is 00:41:21 Claudia Asre misspelled and Claudia Ashrie plus one. Bethany Frankel mispelled and Bethany Frankel plus one next to each other. Okay, so we're like, all right, Claudia's missing next to Bethany Frankel. Bethany Frankel never shows up. She's in the front row with her name tag right in front of the people performing. And so like the first... And it's a big type font.
Starting point is 00:41:40 It's like huge letters. So the first comic comes on and he's like, oh, this Bethany Franklin couldn't show up, whatever. Like made like a light joke. Malaney comes on. She's still not here. We thought she was for sure going to show up for Malaney. And he on like the mic in front of these like 2,000 people.
Starting point is 00:41:54 He's like, oh, Bethany Franklin couldn't show up. You guys, rip her name off, rip her name off. Somebody else come take Bethany Frankl's place. It was terrible. Now, can I tell you? I told the story on the podcast today and I got some insider information. Like Bethany RSVP'd no to the event two days before. And like, so it's not like she, RSVPed, yes,
Starting point is 00:42:11 she got dragged for, Seriously, no reason. I actually felt bad. I know. She wasn't attending ever. That's funny. God, the lighthouse. They don't have their shit together. Also, Josh, the lights went out at the lighthouse. I thought that was funny, too. It's literally where they're celebrating a lighthouse. All the lights went out. The irony, homie. So irony. The dichotomy of it all, bro. The dichotomy of it.
Starting point is 00:42:35 I went to this boxing. My buddy, Maddie Kershner, shout out, Maddie Kershner was, you probably know him. He works with Heller. You know Heller? This guy. No. Okay, never mind. You don't know. Cut this out, Josh.
Starting point is 00:42:49 So anyway, so my boy, Maddie Kirsner, invited me to this massive boxing event, which was where the L.A. football club plays downtown. And it was like this star-studded occasion and Eminem performed. And it was for this big fighter, Bud Crawford was fighting. And so he invites me, he's like, VIP seats, blah, blah, blah. I'm like, thank you. God bless you. Sounds beautiful. I bring a friend of mine. Now, the nature of boxing is, so you have the ring. Then you have what's called the corral, which are folded seats, about three rows of folded seats on each side. And then you have sort of a barrier.
Starting point is 00:43:27 And then you kind of have the general seating. And now the general seating on the other side of the barrier is fabulous up until like the 10th row. And then you're just there with the rest of the civilians. So I sit down and we are front row. behind the barrier. We are not in the corral. I don't think much of it. I'm in gratitude. Thank you, Maddie. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:43:53 I get it. But of course, as the evening goes on, M&M, performing, mostly new stuff, unfortunately. It was great. And I'm now seeing them pan to famous people in the corral. First, Mike Tyson, right? then Scotty Pippin, Cape Beckinsale,
Starting point is 00:44:17 Sterling came around, and I just start feeling real low. I'm like, that'll do it. They're not coming over here on the other side of the barrier. They're kicking it in the growl. Started feeling a lot less VIP
Starting point is 00:44:33 than I originally thought. That being said, I had a wonderful time. Maddie, thank you for the tickets. Thank you so much for having me. Throughout the night, I'm like wilting. I'm like, oh, God.
Starting point is 00:44:44 Smaller and smaller and smaller. Bad. Should we get to, wait, Claudia, will you please? And this will be out of, you know, circulation by the time this episode airs? Will you explain to me the Blake lively of it all? Literally knew you were going to say that. Thank you. I'll give you a very brief synopsis because it runs so deep.
Starting point is 00:45:02 But let me tell you this. And I just kind of want to ask you, do you know Justin Baldoni? No. Damn. Okay. So there's a movie coming out. It's called It ends with us. It's based on a book by this lady. named Colin.
Starting point is 00:45:12 It just came out. And it killed this weekend. It did amazing. Based on a book by Colleen Hoover, Justin Baldoni. It's a book about, it's like a romance novel, but it's about,
Starting point is 00:45:21 they tackle the issue of domestic violence in the book. And Justin Baldoni optioned it. He was the director and the star. Blake lively was the female star. There's a couple of stars. Jenny Slate is in it.
Starting point is 00:45:32 There's a bunch of new actors, Brendan Sclenar from 1923. And they've been doing a lot of press for this movie. And fans were very, you know, sneakily figuring out that the entire cast, like unfollow Justin Baldoni, who's the director and the star,
Starting point is 00:45:45 nobody's been doing press with him. They're all super, super tight, especially with Colleen, and the author of the book, who was like, I think a producer or something. They've been doing press all together without her. They go to the premieres. They all take pictures together without Justin,
Starting point is 00:45:57 everything without Justin. And Colleen, the author and Blake Lavley, the other star, have both unfollow Justin Baldoni on social media. So now people are, are questioning why that's happening. And there are two schools of thoughts, like people who are pro Justin Baldone,
Starting point is 00:46:10 Dony are basically saying, you know, Blake lively took over this movie. She acted like she was the director. Her and Ryan Reynolds steamrolled the whole thing. He was rewriting scenes. They came in and just, you know, sideline Justin Baldoni. And the other people are saying Justin Baldoni created a really toxic abusive environment. He is not a woman. This is a woman's story.
Starting point is 00:46:27 This was a book that was read by millions of women. It's about an issue that affects women. And he put himself at the center of it and was mean to everyone. People are super divided. I'm team Blake and Ryan. I don't, I don't believe Justin Baldoni. Like, is this innocent little? you know, he has a podcast about like, you know, being good to women.
Starting point is 00:46:43 And I just like, you don't need to have a podcast about being good to women if you're just like good to women, you know. And Josh, you know who followed the toast last week? Ryan Reynolds. Wow. And I just want to say, I don't, I have not let that impact my opinion on the saga. And I'm saying that completely honestly. Do you do mint mobile ad reads? What did you say?
Starting point is 00:47:06 Do you do mint mobile ad reads? No, I don't. Oh, we do. Well, sorry. Sorry for you. Ring me. Hello, Mint Mobile. Big Ryan Reynolds fan, big Mint Mobile fan.
Starting point is 00:47:18 And there's, there's, you can get your, you can get your first three months for just $15 a month, $45 paid up front, but it's a pretty good deal. Mintmobile.com slash good guys. Well, wow, wow. Man ask and I know, and I, I'm sure you don't remember Claudia, but you once corrected me or at least were passionately disagreed with me when something was going on with your queen, Kim Kardashian and I had brought up the idea that maybe it was because they are as media savvy as anyone could be that maybe this was sort of pulling strings behind the scenes that we didn't know
Starting point is 00:47:52 about. Is there any way this stuff with Blake lively and is there any version of that? There is always a possibility because at the end of the day, net net, this has been amazing press for the movie. All this intrigues to what's going on with the cast. It crushed. I think that so many times people just love to jump to that conclusion. When there's something going on in media that people can't understand, people are beefing, someone unfollowed. People are always like, well, they're just doing it for the press. It's kind of become this like blanket thing. When you don't understand it, boom, it's for the press. People say that about so many relationships. And I just really don't like to live my life thinking
Starting point is 00:48:24 that things are pressed. Now, every now and then things are so clearly press and people don't see it that way. And I'm like, how do you guys not see it that way? In this particular scenario, I don't, I don't, because I don't think Justin nor Blake and Ryan would participate in that because half the people are looking at Blake really negatively. Half the people are looking at Justin really negatively. Nobody would take that on in service of what? Promoting a movie? Sure. I mean, when you have a massive movie that makes a lot of money, I mean, it's the ultimate. I remember I think Ivan Reitman, the great producer told Howard Stern when Howard Stern came out with his first film, private parts, but he was like, listen to me. He's like, this movie makes over a hundred million dollars. He's like, you will have a
Starting point is 00:49:05 green light wherever you want. Like, they will. hand you a $100 million movie to make from here on out until you lose that money for them. So it's, I mean, it's huge. It's a game-changing win. It is. I do also think that people underestimate how the movie would have been big regardless. And this is something that very much like exists. This is like a book that was written by a woman, made successful by women, by readers and like really propped up to the point. And then there's an amazing New York Times profile on Colleen Hoover who kind of reinvented that sort of like steamy romance novel. Those are books that like only women read and that were very much looked down upon for like many years, you know,
Starting point is 00:49:41 Danielle's steal. It wasn't taken seriously. It wasn't, you know, given any awards. It was very much considered like tacky and taboo. And now it's such a popular book genre. It's like millions of books every year. And Colleen Hoover is the biggest and was really at the frontier of like making those books cool again and being like taken seriously. And it's like, it's predominantly read by women. So I think that people underestimate how big the movie was going to be regardless. It didn't need something like this. Now, this definitely made it big, but this was going to be like a gangbusters blockbuster movie. Every woman in America has read this book. Wow. Wow. Yeah. Great. Well, first of all, good for them. Quickly, I wanted to ask. I don't know how to segue to this, but Josh,
Starting point is 00:50:23 quickly, I want to talk about pickleball. Oh, dear. Okay. I want to talk about pickleball. Claudia and I play a lot of pickleball, Josh. And clearly it caught the attention of one Simu Leo. Oh, sure. Because we played pickleball with Simu this weekend. We did. Not because. Because he heard we were great, but because we have a mutual friend. That was a misleading intro. But we did catch the attention of Simulio. No, he did it. I don't know who that is.
Starting point is 00:50:45 Simulio? No. He's an amazing actor. He's in one of the, you know, I'm familiar with like the DC Marvel. He's in a Marvel movie. I believe he's a transformer and Avenger. Yeah, he's a wonderful Asian American actor. I'm shocked that you don't know Seema.
Starting point is 00:50:58 That's the only reason I brought it up. I know him from Selling Sunset. Real ones know him from selling sunset. He's in the Barbie movie. He's Ken. Okay. Okay. Whatever.
Starting point is 00:51:07 It's kind of a what are you nuts for me. I play a decent amount of pickleball. We play a decent amount of pickleball. Claudia typically beats me, but we played four games against Simu. We fucking stunk. We stunk. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:51:20 We really embarrassed ourselves. They were picking our asses. We lost one game, Josh. 11-0-0. We got zero points. That's upsetting. That's shameful. So, anyway, it was, okay,
Starting point is 00:51:30 our friend, Justin, who was with Simu, is they played against us. He is a former, like, not professor. but he played tennis his whole life, like really incredible tennis player. And then Simu, who's like in perfect shape was a volleyball player for many years. And pickleball is very similar to volleyball.
Starting point is 00:51:47 We were so screwed. We were. Justin was amazing. So we lost 11-0-0. Josh, Claudia, he says, you know, why don't we shake up the teams? I didn't say that. Simu did. Simu said, let's shake up the team. Why don't we shake up the teams?
Starting point is 00:51:56 Right, because they were bored. Because you guys were so awful. So now I'm playing with Simu. Claudia and Justin are playing together. Josh, we lose 11-0. So the common denominator is Benzoffers. It sounds like Justin's the ringer. Justin was definitely the ringer.
Starting point is 00:52:16 But I said it early. My Woody and Nuts is my pickleball game. Oh my God. I've been telling you that for years. Thank you. And I show such flashes of greatness. You do. But if I lose 11-0,
Starting point is 00:52:28 two games in a row with different teammates, then the problem has to be made. No, and it's so frustrating. Because when I play against you, like one-on-one, like you're so good. Then you're on my team. And suddenly, see like it's frustrating oh sorry josh another witty you nuts is being on claudia's
Starting point is 00:52:41 fucking pickleball team this woman is a nightmare yeah you miss one point you miss one point what the what the hell was that what was that huh huh you want to communicate huh the fuck was that because here's the thing and i'll oh matt it's just i'm not a perfect person i miss points in pickleball all the time but it's not for lack of trying like i run for the ball i'll communicate and say you me and bed just sort of does willy-nilly whatever he wants and it's frustrating It's frustrating. She's a villain on the pickupball. I am.
Starting point is 00:53:10 I am. I'm a nightmare. I can't stand the game. I'm not interested. I stay far, far away from it. I've had enough disappointment in my life and I don't need to be disappointed more by this fecoct game that gives, and I will say this with love, average athletes, if I may say, it gives you, you guys just talked about it.
Starting point is 00:53:31 You will have flashes of greatness because it's a game that's engineered for the every man and woman it is it is that's a really good analysis but the truth is and as and by the way you're here at the creation of the game you ever looked at tennis in the 40s a little slow right but the problem is i was listening to a podcast earlier podcast is getting so elite so quickly that the barrier of entry for for pickleball an average yeah is it's over it's like the it will only exist with what you guys did and then it will be at such an elite level. Like it'll be like playing with LeBron James like a pickup game. It won't make sense.
Starting point is 00:54:12 That's true. I like that. You know, Jimmy Kimmel just turned down hosting the 2025 Oscars. He said it was just too much. And Claudia, as someone who will probably host the Oscars one day, what do you think of that?
Starting point is 00:54:26 I agree. It's a thankless job. Like even if you try your best and do your, you know, the best you could possibly do, people are going to hate it anyway. It's like, seriously, I can't imagine why anyone would want that job.
Starting point is 00:54:36 Like, obviously, it sounds glitzy and glamorous, but it's so much work. It's so much scrutiny. It's like, nobody ever likes the host, even when the host does nothing. Like, it's just a terrible job. I would know. And if I'm Jimmy Kimmel,
Starting point is 00:54:47 I have a date, like, Jimmy Kimmel has everything a person in Hollywood could ever want. Like, he doesn't need this grief. And was this what your boy, Joe Koi hosted last year? Golden Globes. He did the Golden Globes.
Starting point is 00:54:56 Yikes. Yeah. Yeah, but it's Josh's friend. So, no, I felt bad for him. He had my sympathy. And I didn't think the joke was, like, crazy offensive. That was fine.
Starting point is 00:55:04 It was just like not funny. I'm just, and you're right. If you're already really famous, no needs to. Thankless job. That's why it was such a great moment for Joe Koi because he's not at that level.
Starting point is 00:55:15 And if he had done a, you know, a fine job, he, it would have been great for him. It's like, it's so great when somebody gets the job that can be elevated by it.
Starting point is 00:55:22 Like, Jimmy Kammel couldn't possibly get any more famous. He's up our asses all the time. Like someone like Joe Koi that's such a fabulous platform and opportunity for them. And I was like sad to see, it go the way that it went because I think it would have been huge for his career.
Starting point is 00:55:36 Because it's obviously super famous, but there's room for him to grow in terms of mainstream success. Can somebody do that job well, though, that is a no name? Yes. Oh, that's a no name. No, not a no name, not a no name. A non-Kimmel, a non-Cevon Kevin Hart. I think everybody agrees like the best to ever do it, Ricky's your base. Like, you have to be unafraid to talk about, you know, the scandals in the room. But Ricky's so famous. Yeah. I'm saying like, is it possible for somebody to make a name for themselves in that moment. Yeah, it hasn't happened because nobody ever gets the opportunity.
Starting point is 00:56:08 It's the same three people. It's James Gordon. It's Jimmy Fallon. It's Jimmy Kimmel. It's the same four people. And they gave it to Kevin Hart one time and then they took it away and he would have been great at it. Question that I've never thought.
Starting point is 00:56:16 Has it ever been a woman? Oh, yeah. Sure, of course. Tina Faye and Amy Pollard did it. Yeah. If they ever gave it to a woman, it's like two of them or three of them. It was, remember Amy Schumer? She did it with like three other people.
Starting point is 00:56:29 Wanda Sykes. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Love Wanda. Let's listen to one speak pipe quick before we do our one of your nuts. This speakpipe, if you want to ask us questions, get advice. Go to speakpipe.com slash good guys. Keep it brief.
Starting point is 00:56:43 Brevity is key. This one's from Sydney. One more time. Quick. Here's from Sydney. Hey, Josh and Ben. This is Sydney from Chicago. Huge moron.
Starting point is 00:56:58 And toaster. Love you guys. Question. more of a wadia nuts trio. I'm 25 for some background. Oh, wait, no. I'm 26. Okay, yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:10 I'm 26 on my own insurance now. That's besides the point. I have a sister who's 29. We are very close. She recently got engaged in April. And we were having a conversation the other day. I've been with my boyfriend for five years now. So we're kind of starting to talk about engagement.
Starting point is 00:57:31 future, you know, that stuff. And she asked me if we thought about getting engaged within this year. And I said, maybe, I don't know. We'll see. I'll keep you updated. She was very angry, very pissed off because she feels like it would be so rude of us to get engaged before her wedding. Because then that would take away from this whole year of it being about her. So I don't know.
Starting point is 00:58:02 No, I would love it. Your thoughts on that. Your sister's crazy. Do whatever you want. Like imagine telling someone to stop the progress of their life, marriage, children, because you need a whole year for it to be about you. I can't with some of these brides. Like, they are so nutty.
Starting point is 00:58:17 By the way, I take it back. You're 100% right. Of course. You're right. Yes. Oh, my people get married every day. What? We can't be engaged in the same year?
Starting point is 00:58:24 No, you're right. Nuts. A hundred percent. Do whatever you want. I mean, granted, like, and also, first of all, I think it can be like a lot. lovely thing when you're like kind of like oh my god of course you're when your sister engaged the same time how beautiful is that it's so beautiful and like again like give someone their their moment and and sort of like the the aftermath of like the initial engagement like yeah i wouldn't do it like
Starting point is 00:58:48 within a month or two of the engagement and then the wedding but you've got like a six month sweet spot in there that if it happens when you're like busy doing seating charts that let your sister be happy. It's not about you. This is not a thing. The only time this is a thing is like if you get engaged at someone else's wedding, I've seen that sometimes. Or like you're on a,
Starting point is 00:59:10 this happened in Banner Pupport Rules. They all took a trip to like some part San Yacidro Ranch or whatever for someone's engagement party. And then another couple was like because it was this gorgeous trip starting to get talking about getting engaged there. It's like you can't use somebody else's trip, somebody else's day, but you get a day. You get actually, you get like three. Your bridal shower, your engagement party and the actual wedding.
Starting point is 00:59:29 You get like three days where nobody can. get engaged. Other than that, people's got me, you got to live. Got to live. We've got one more question and this one is coming from somebody good anonymous. Oh, I like this. Hey, Ben and Josh. My husband and I just spent a few nights up at a rustic lodge outside of Seattle and we need some help determining if we're nuts or some other hotel guests are nuts. So here we go. We spend over $400 a night to stay at this rustic chic lodge that is overlooking this. grass space and lagoon area. And there's a lot of common areas on the property, but there were some sort of family reunion going on there at the same time as us, maybe four or five families,
Starting point is 01:00:13 you know, four or five couples with about a dozen kids total. And they took over the entire common area. They were out there all hours throughout the day. They left their stuff there when they were not actively in this area. They were loud. Kids were screaming. And we even came back from dinner one night and they were out there around a campfire seeing campfire songs at 9.30 p.m. at night. So we just need to know. What song? Are we nuts for getting annoyed at these people? Are they nuts for acting like this resort property?
Starting point is 01:00:43 Was there private? Yeah. This is a silly question. Of course they're nuts. No, of course. It's so rude. This is an abuse because technically like they're breaking no rules. But when you're a party that big and you need like a private dinner space,
Starting point is 01:00:54 like you're supposed to pay for it and rent out a certain. So this is them like skirting the rules and ruining other people's vacation. and it's wrong. The idea, though, of luxury rustic, I also think is nuts. Different strokes for different folks. No, but luxury rustic. It just doesn't. Right.
Starting point is 01:01:10 It's inherently oxymoronic. It just doesn't work. It's like the Lower East Side. Like, this is no place to live. It's a $1,000 a month on rent. No good. Too far away? Yeah, you're just like, not.
Starting point is 01:01:21 Should we get to Rwini and nuts? Yeah, I totally figure out that that's a thing you guys do, so I didn't prepare one, but you guys talk, I'll think of one. Well, I already really gave mine. It's really gave mine. was going to be me pickleball. I jumped the gun early, but like my pickleball game is my Woody and Nuts
Starting point is 01:01:34 and me going, oh, and 11, oh, and 11, two times in a row. It was incredibly embarrassing for our family. Yeah, and honestly,
Starting point is 01:01:40 I should retire from the sport. Agreed. What do you nuts? Like, I spend so much time playing pickleball and then I can't even win a fucking point. Okay.
Starting point is 01:01:47 I'm an able-bodied person. Oh, actually, sorry. My wadie and nuts is related. Wait, before that, an additional wadie and nuts on this in the pickleball. Josh,
Starting point is 01:01:55 I forgot to bring sneakers to the hampton. Oh, my God. That was my wedding and nuts. Oh, okay, so you can tell it. Because Josh, when was the last time I saw you when we ran that glorious 5K together and you were very sweet and didn't run ahead and you waited for me even though I was like on the verge of vomiting, which I never probably think to for you for you were such a mensch. You were seriously staying with me in the back. Like, you're really a king. Oh, so nice.
Starting point is 01:02:13 But, you know, I was running late. I know you were there without us for like 10 minutes. And it was because Ben and I had to run to Dick sporting goods because we flew halfway across the country to run in 5K and he didn't bring sneakers. We've been in the Hampton sport two months. Wait, no. I brought sneakers. Both times I'm wearing my air. Force ones. Continue.
Starting point is 01:02:29 Air Force ones are not sneakers. They're not sneakers. They're orthopedics. Ben will wear Air Force ones to seriously like a park to play pickleball into a wedding. Like he thinks Ben has a problem in his life. Boom. Answer is Air Force ones. We are literally wake up.
Starting point is 01:02:43 We have coffee. It's a gorgeous Saturday morning. We're going to play pickleball. And like right before we're supposed to leave. He's like, oh, I think I'm going to run into town and get like sneakers. I'm like, you're going to run into town. We have to leave right now. We race to town.
Starting point is 01:02:52 We don't have to be late for Simulio. Race to town. Go to this like forlorn sports store. he got on clouds. Now we always talking about, oh, my on clouds I'm so comfortable and so comfortable.
Starting point is 01:03:00 We narrowly missed the fucking, thank God, Simu was eight minutes late. Like, what are you nuts? Packed the right fucking shoes. And by the way, ready for this? This is really,
Starting point is 01:03:10 I'm going to shame you into submission. Ben, when we went to the 5K, Josh, right before we met you, Ben went to Dick's sporting goods and bought a pair of polkas. Do you know where those hocus are now? Where are they,
Starting point is 01:03:21 God? He left them in the hotel room for the week we were in L.A. Oh, that hurts. That's terrible. It's terrible. Look. They were cool, too.
Starting point is 01:03:30 They were sweet Hokas. Yeah. Nuts. No. It's completely nuts. Completely nuts. I will own it. That said, Josh, I think that it's okay that I talk about on-clats. It's not like Hokka sponsors us.
Starting point is 01:03:41 They had their opportunity. These puppies, these on-clouds, unbelievable. Unclads are sick. Oh, my God. I'm a Hokka loyalist. I love my hookahs. You're a Hokka loyalist because you've never owned an Oncloud.
Starting point is 01:03:52 I'm sorry. You've owned an enclaught for five fucking minutes. Yes. And they are supreme. Josh. Yes. I love my new balance too. Josh, what's your Woody and Nuts?
Starting point is 01:04:01 My Woody and Nuts is recently because I have children and just because I have taste buds. I eat at the California Pizza Kitchen often. I love it. Well, that's my favorite restaurant on the planet. What? It's my favorite restaurant on the planet. Wow. Okay.
Starting point is 01:04:15 I just love getting closer to you, Claudia, and we are just on the same page. California Pizza Kitchen delicious. Have you ever had the kids mac and cheese with the edamame? Unreal. Unfeck and real. Best mac and cheese I've ever had. Their whole kids menu, by the ones. way, arguably is the most elite part of the menu.
Starting point is 01:04:31 So, CPK shout out. But CPK be wilding sometimes. Yeah, that's so true. And they have a real quality control issue. They're always reinventing, which, sound off queen. We love, we love. They have a new thing with soup. They go, we now offer, you want two soups?
Starting point is 01:04:51 Go for it. We'll put it in the same bowl. They're blending. soups. Shut up. It's soup. Wait, we know two different flavors? Yes.
Starting point is 01:05:03 What are you nuts? This isn't like... There's no divider. No, this isn't like, here's some peni and here's a different pasta. That's really nutty. It's soup. It's like here's clam chowder and here's miso soup. You can't do that.
Starting point is 01:05:20 What are you nuts? Ew. That's really nutty. But, you know, I imagine in the quick serve restaurant industry, it is hard to stay on top. I mean, all the CPKs in our in New York City have gone out of business. There's not one in the city anymore. So they've kind of been like a flailing chain for many years and maybe this is their attempt at relevancy, but it ain't going to work.
Starting point is 01:05:38 I mean. Imagine a half split pea, half French onion. What are you nuts? Oof. Nuts. I love saying that. Nuts. It's the best.
Starting point is 01:05:47 So good. By the merch. Merch at good guys. Net. Merch it up. Not sold out. Merch did okay. Not sold out.
Starting point is 01:05:52 Yeah, it sold out. We sold like nine million T-shirts. We sold. out the beacon green room. Sandwich shop. We sold out. We started the beacon lobby. Yeah,
Starting point is 01:06:05 you guys saw that the beacon concession stand. Take us home then. Well, folks, that is our show. Claudia, thank you so much for joining us. It's always such a pleasure
