The following podcast is a Dear Media production.
Two Jews, both big and tall, no subject, too small for the good guys.
A mother's dream, premium podcast team, make it you weekly routine, it's a good guys.
And if you don't give us five stars, what are you nuts?
What are you nuts?
Yeah, we're the good guys.
We're not the great guys.
Mazumorans, welcome back to the Good Guys podcast.
Josh, I'm back in the big city.
I'm here.
I can tell.
Rolled in this morning.
And I got to tell you, I'm so bipolar with this big, beautiful city.
It's now the U.S. open.
The city's bustling.
People are here to just watch some good tennis to crisp 75 degrees.
And I love it.
I mean, look, there is.
no implied or implicit dress code for the podcast, but you're breaking it.
You've broken.
Why?
Dude.
Brother?
It's unacceptable.
Okay, fine.
Okay, fine.
Is that better?
Ew.
Ew.
Ew.
For all those listening, Ben is just taking off his sock, and I'm going to be
He's sick.
He's wearing open-toed shoes and shorts.
And it's right in my purview.
It's too hot.
The dogs are too hot.
The dogs are too hot.
Okay, how about this?
Is that better?
Is that better for you?
First of all, you should not be wearing shorts.
Shirts are unacceptable on a podcast.
Please.
Enough.
What do I do with the sock now?
Can I put this sock back on?
Yes.
And it looks like you got it.
You look like a tourist who stopped by a Hampton's gift shop.
You like my Sag Harbor tea?
Sag Harbor, that's what I call it.
When I look at my privates in the bathtub, it's Sag Harbor, definitely.
That's Sack Harbor.
Josh, let me tell you it's so fucking hot in this place.
You couldn't survive.
here in jeans.
This New York City studio is hot, hot, hot,
but that just makes my brain go, go, go.
Speaking of brain going,
I started to listen to the first 15 minutes
of a Mel Robbins podcast
where she had on an ADHD specialist.
I never got through it.
Let me tell you, Josh, my entire feed, now TikTok.
If you have an undiagnosed old ADHD,
you need to eat these foods.
You can't have the neurotypical diet.
You need to have the neurodivergent diet.
What do you think about that?
What is a neuro?
Well, I know part of being neurodivergent is gluten.
You don't want to do gluten, right?
Apparently not.
Maybe that's why bagels make me tired on the podcast.
Maybe I'm neurodivergent.
I just love that you, and maybe you did, you are in on the joke and you've delivered it so
surreptitiously that you deserve an award that you were like, I only got through 50 minutes of this ADD podcast.
I did.
I did.
Yes.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Give me a little credit.
Genius.
Genius.
Yeah.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
And the person she was with seems like a lovely woman.
That said, yeah, I couldn't listen to any more of it.
So that was it.
And I listened to it at two times speed.
So it was really seven and a half minutes.
I listened to that.
You know, this Mel Robbins, who we've been lucky enough to have on the pod, she is really the real deal.
I've listened to a lot of pods of her interviewing specialists about narcissists,
not implying anyone in my life.
Not my wife.
Trust me, not my wife.
Somebody else.
But, and it's, it's...
This is the quick turn, Josh.
This episode is quick turn.
Good, turn it to fuck around and shove it down their throat.
But she has brilliant, brilliant people on.
And when you really like, in this day and age,
I feel like when you really listen to experts
and whatever the field is that you need help with,
and maybe it's ADD,
maybe it's interpersonal relationships,
isn't it like, it's elucidate?
It's revealing.
It's helpful.
Did they get to solutions, Josh, in that episode?
Oh, I'm so glad you asked.
Well, first they talked about the narcissist
and what it's born out of, right?
But then they talked about...
Oh, sorry, I meant the ADD episode, but regardless.
Did you listen to the ADD one?
I didn't.
No, I don't think I have that.
It's one of the few I don't have.
Oh, whoa, well, okay.
I thought that you listened to that one.
Okay, so narcissism.
Did even...
Did they tell you...
how to fix it.
There's no fixing it.
If someone is, so what this woman was talking about and she was so brilliant, I want to get
her name right and I'll look it up, but this is a quick turnip, so there's no editing.
But what she was sort of inferring was that there are plenty of people that have narcissistic
qualities, right?
Where they're self-centered, self-focused, but they're not true narcissist personality disorder.
When someone is narcissist personality disorder, like a malignant narcissist, there's
no helping them. There's no amount of treatment. There's no medication. There's really no getting
better. Now, they can navigate life, but they will inevitably sort of bring, they'll radiate anyone
that comes near them and thus themselves. But the thing that I found most revealing is she said,
you know, narcissists deal in reaction. Their currency is your reaction. And they'll take any reaction.
you got horrible, wonderful, laudatory, venomous, virulent, you know, like, they don't care if you are screaming
at them, telling them that they're the worst person on earth, or if you are kissing their feet,
they just want your energy.
Like, that's why you feel so depleted when a narcissist leaves you because they'll take
whatever you got and they prefer the highs and lows.
So the other way to win.
There's nothing worse.
is to be Teflon.
There's nothing worse.
Nothing worse than a narcissist.
Nothing in the world worse.
The only thing worse is when you listen to a podcast like that,
and they don't give you any solutions.
This is my problem.
I don't want you to tell me with an expert.
I'm not saying that Mel Robbins does this.
I'm just saying that it's very important to close the episode,
especially if it's something that's deeply personal to you.
You're here listening for an hour to Mel Robbins
and somebody else talk about a episode.
condition. I don't, I don't know if you, why you're listening to the narcissist one, maybe to
identify with somebody else in your life, whatever it may be. But for me, the ADHD one, for example,
let's say that I was listening because I thought, you know, maybe I'm a little ADD or ADHD.
Of course, all you want is solutions. What do I do? Where do I go? How do I fix this now that you've
filled my brain with all of these problems? It felt very, I'll tell you why I shut it off after 15
minutes, Josh. It felt very Mayo Clinic. You Google something and they tell you that you have cancer.
It's like, oh, your thoughts are a little bit spacey. Oh, you are sometimes emotionally unregulated.
It was just like, it was just like checking boxes. And it's like, I feel like a lot of people are like that.
And there were no solutions. It was just making me feel fucking crazy. Does that make sense?
But maybe you turned it off before the solution. Don't quit. I don't quit before the miracle.
That's what they say. And don't stop before the miracle.
I'm out. I don't need the miracle. I need to not listen to that episode anymore. I don't need any
miracles. I like to live very much in the middle. You know, never too high, no miracles. Never too
low. No disaster. It's just right here. That is a good goal. I think do you find, let me ask you,
let me sort of turn what you said and I would love to know your thoughts. Like, I have found,
And I think some people identify with this that when you are being, in quotes, diagnosed,
because, right, growing up in the era that we grew up with, like our boomer parents or our grandparents would have been like, stop it.
It's not anxiety.
And you have nerves.
The wonderful Ruthie Kirsch, my surrogate grandmother said, you know, back in the day, we didn't have anxiety.
We had nerves.
You're nervous.
Like, and I think it's easy to just kind of be like, oh, Josh, oh, Benkin.
it together. Oh, stop it, you know.
But then when you hear a clinician...
Except my mom. My mom, not to cut you off.
My mom, absolutely, is Munchausen's by proxy.
She's not, I'd say, I have anxiety.
Boy, you do. Let's go talk about it.
I'm telling you my sister is allergic to pineapple because my mom convinced her of it.
That's a topic for another day. Continue.
It's a topic for two-day because I want to revisit.
But don't you think, like, when I've listened to things and if,
I felt diagnosed, like you have a thing and it's real and there are solutions and you should
not feel bad that you, this is not a weakness in you.
This is something that is an ailment, it's a disease, whatever, and there is treatment.
And you shouldn't feel bad that it was like some lack of willpower or lack of discipline.
Does that make sense?
Absolutely.
If you're diagnosed with something.
But I think it's very important not to self-diagnose through a podcast, especially
15 minutes of it. So I'm just saying that the same way that you feel, I think about like seed
oils, for example, at one point where it's like everybody's talking about it, but nobody knows
anything, right? It's like nobody, and I'm not saying that Mel Robbins isn't an expert in the
person that she had on isn't an expert, but nobody saw you, nobody saw me, nobody diagnosed me,
nobody checked on you. This is a one size fits all put out for millions of people and they
intentionally try and make them very relatable.
Because otherwise, not every single person that listens to Mel Robbins has ADD or ADHD,
but I bet you every single person that listens to her is now thinking, maybe I do.
Because she's a great podcaster.
If she can't create an engaging conversation that you want to listen to, then she'd be out of a job.
So that's all that I'm saying.
Just to take these things with a grand assault, which is what I did, which is why I took the approach of turning it off.
I know.
It's like me.
I'm life diagnosed autistic.
I'm podcast host diagnosed autistic.
I appreciate your insight.
Yeah, it's a fascinating,
the whole mental bend of life.
And I don't know,
do you think it's just that like 100 years ago
we were more worried about,
you know, freezing to death?
And so we have time to worry about all these other ailments now.
Yes, we are so unbelievable.
and I say we, okay?
We, everyone, you keyboard warriors that hate my opinions,
every fucking person is privileged to live today.
That's a fact.
Everyone is privileged to live today.
Everyone.
You have unparalleled access to everything that you need to survive.
Can you thrive on a yacht?
Maybe not.
Sorry, turn off your phone if that bothers you.
Stop looking at TikTok and getting jealous of people.
But in terms of heat, air conditioning, you could walk into a mall and cool down.
Josh, come on.
You need something quick.
You need a snickers.
Snickers, just like that.
Yes.
Just saying.
And as a result, because life is so easy, we've made it so hard.
Oh, my God, have we made it hard.
We are, and I'm guilty of this too.
I think at one point in my life, I was so just, I don't know, comfortable that I started, I'm like, I can feel my heartbeat.
Oh my God, why can I feel my heartbeat?
I remember this specifically.
It was like 15 years ago.
I could feel my own heartbeat.
And then I said to myself, Ben, you got to go occupy yourself.
You have too much time on your hands if you're thinking about your own heartbeat.
Why don't you go play basketball?
See if you have a heart attack.
What do you know, Josh?
I didn't.
See, yeah, we have too much time on our hands.
You can feel your heartbeat by putting your finger to your carotid artery.
No. I'm trying to understand.
No, I could feel my heartbeat.
Like I somehow was like tracking in my head my heartbeat.
Have you ever done that or no?
Are we talking like Kesha?
Like I feel my heartbeat to the beat.
Incredible song.
No, you can literally feel it pulsing through your body.
And then when you have anxiety, you go and check it.
And it's like, oh, once, once, once.
And then it goes away.
It's probably just like an anxiety attack.
Your heart was like a Calvin Harris song.

Ah, people assume GLP ones are a fortune.
Oh, it's so expensive.
Have you tried Ro?
Have you tried Ro?
Everybody's like, you can't get the real thing.
Have you tried Ro?
Roe has FDA-approved brands.
They have injectables.
They also have these handy-dandy daily pills if injections aren't what floats your boat.
They have it at the right cost.
And Roe is exactly where you need to go for GLP-1s.
I've been talking about them forever.

And FDA-approved GLP-1 options are available at the lowest cost on Roe.
And they come in discrete packaging, in the mail.
It's fantastic.
They remind me when I'm running low on my month's.
supply. These other companies, they don't remind you. You just run out and then you panic. You're like,
aren't I supposed to be injecting again? And they're like, yeah, it'll come in two weeks. Not Ro.
Roe reminds you. They're like, it's coming. You're going to have it. Yes, I have it. Is it in the
fridge? Let us know. And a lot of times it's covered by insurance. They have a free insurance
checker that you can check out and see if you don't even have to pay for it. Who knows? And if you do
have to pay for it, it's still the lowest cost available for FDA approved products. I'm telling you,
Ro is the lowest cost way to access FDA-approved GLP-1 treatment.
So folks, you're ready to change your life.
Go to row.com slash good guys to see if you qualify.
That's RO.com slash good guys to get started on Roe.

By the way, Josh,
Alesso is playing Memorial Day Monday in the Hamptons.
I can't go, but we really should go.
I would love to say.
Alesso is your favorite DJ's favorite DJ, as we know.
He's so good.
Memorial Day Monday, though, you can't really do anything like that.
No, it starts at 7 o'clock.
Labor Day Monday?
Labor Day Monday.
You can't do that.
It's crazy.
Tuesday's like New Year.
Tuesday's the equivalent of January 1st.
Right.
Right.
It's so true.
You have to be fresh and ready to go.
Yeah.
I'm trying to think about, I don't know, I haven't been to a great EDM show in quite the while,
but I'm telling you that the good guys live from Ultra in Miami would be so fucking sick.
At the winter music conference, it's you, it's me, it's Afro.
I'm drinking, I'm drinking Red Bulls and I'm taking melatonin, or as I like to call it, the sober speedball.
It would be so amazing to have a real excuse to be at Ultra.
We really need to make that happen.
Like a paid gig, Claude's like you're going to Ultra?
Yeah, I'm getting paid money.
Like, it's work.
It's work to go to Ultra.
Okay.
The dream.
Oh, my God.
Oh, so fun.
Tell me, Claudia.
You beat Claudia.
and I'll be you.
And I'm going to propose ultra non-paid.
Claude, love of my life.
Josh is coming into town tomorrow.
And as you know, it's the Winter Music Conference.
It's Ultra, Ultra Music Festival.
And DJ Tiesto, Cascade and Dead Mouse are going to be on the main stage, shirtless.
And they're going to be doing a set.
It starts around 11 o'clock at night, and it's going to go to about three.
And I want to go with Josh, and I think it's going to be one of the greatest experiences of my life.
But I'm not going to be here.
I'm not going to be here for our nighttime routine with the Great Rubin.
I'm going to be a 34-year-old at Ultra, father of one, with my podcast best friend who's sober and a father of three.
thought.
Can I go?
The truth is, Josh, on my life, today she would say, go, have a great time in joy.
I don't know what happened.
Yesterday she would have said, are you meeting your girlfriend there?
But today, I swear, I asked her, can I go to a lasso?
She said, you should go to a lasso.
And it didn't even have that sound of.
of like you should know better than to ask that,
but I'm going to tell you you can go
and let you make the decision that you shouldn't go.
It really felt genuine.
So I think that if I said ultra in particular,
if I'm already in Florida, you're there.
And I say, I want to spend just the night with Josh at Ultra.
I think she says yes.
Now, if I'm in New York and it's an Ultra,
it's at Ultra and I have to fly to Florida, miss a night.
She would say, are you fucking crazy?
Grow the fuck up.
Ultra.
Grow the fuck.
up. You're 34. These are 21-year-olds on drugs. Grow up. That's probably what you should say to me.
I just think that you and I would just trip the light fantastique. We need to go. We need to go.
I mean, I would, my, I know that you don't drink, but like, we couldn't do like a little Molly.
No Molly? I think there's an exception in 12 step for a little Molly at Ultra. Just like a little
Molly once with a friend.
Right?
I mean, I, you know, it's funny, I sponsored a guy in 12th, and this was many years ago.
Granted, he was a fucking kleptomaniac, speaking of narcissists, I was like, maybe you
shouldn't steal from fucking Fendi.
But he, basically, he was like, you know, I want to go do Iowa.
and I want to know what you think about that.
And I said, I think that's fine if you think it's going to be helpful to you and a medicinal
experience.
I think you should reset your days.
So I think you should give up.
And this is just my opinion.
This is completely a one of one opinion.
But I was like, you know, he had two or three years.
I said, I think you should just start back with day one because you're intentionally changing your mental state.
and also my thought was like,
and if you really think it's going to help you this much, who cares?
Like, what do you, like, check your motives type thing, right?
Like, if there was something where someone told me, like,
your mental state will be so much more improved,
but you have to, you know, reset from 18 years to one day,
I would do it because I, right?
And he was like, thank you so much, you're fired as my sponsor.
And I was like, God.
Yeah. And now years later, I don't know how I feel about that. I don't know if I don't think I would care. I would just say, listen, if it's between you and God.
I'm not a fan of people coming to somebody for an opinion and not liking their opinion.
Sure.
You came to me for my opinion. If you didn't want my opinion, you shouldn't have come to me. But if you come to me and ask me for advice and I give you my opinion, I think that your advice was really good. Your advice was.
very non-judgmental, go with God.
Like, that's not a bad thing to say.
You didn't say go on a bender.
You said only you know, based on what you know about this experience,
if this is going to completely transform your life.
And to what you just said, I think that it's perfectly logical to say,
yes, and you'd need to reset your date because it's drugs.
It doesn't mean it can't be helpful.
but yeah, I don't know.
The key came to you.
That's BS.
But I do hear that like obviously they're using MDMA for medicinal purposes and ketamine
obviously and like I don't know who am I to judge like if it can be helpful and
you're not like at the ketamine clinic every other day being like give me one more hit doc.
It's tricky.
It's tricky for a drug addict.
It's tricky like obviously those things can be very helpful for non-drug addicts.
But yeah, I do think that there's a little bit of a difference.
I do want to go on record saying I do not think the drug addict should be going for ketamine therapy.
I think that sounds like a slippery slope to me.
Could me?
But you're outweighing.
There's two options, right?
Maybe you're having the ketamine therapy because, God forbid, you have stage four cancer and you want to feel better.
And it's like, what's better?
Making your last six months on this earth tolerable or, you know, but those are all.
also personal choices. Yeah, or you have treatment resistant depression and addiction. And this is like,
you're starting to try some things that are more off label because you've tried the traditional route,
which I understand, man. I think it's a very personal thing. And it's kind of whatever you want to do.
But I'm glad that they, I'm glad that these things exist. And I wonder if my wife would be okay with me
doing my first bit of MDMA treatment while Steve Aoki throws a cake in my face at all.
Yeah, it would be something.
Ultra 2012 was like, it was probably the drugs,
seared into my brain as one of the greatest weekends of my life.
I had so much fun.
I think it was just like so young,
the shortest bathing suit you've ever seen.
You would have loved it.
You wearing?
And just not the shortest bathing suit in the world.
Oh, so short.
Love.
No shirt.
Just, just,
dancing. Like not like I didn't have a care in the world and listening to this was just like prime
EDM. This is like Alesso for the first time remixing a crewella song and I just remember it like
like it was it was insane. I remember it so fondly and I told you this story a couple of months ago.
I went with my friend Victor to West Palm Beach because we wanted to relive those days.
Yeah.
We saw, Axwell was playing West Palm Beach.
We're like, we're going to go.
It's a Sunday night at 8.
So we're not going to drink anything.
We're not going to do anything.
We're just going to go and we're going to enjoy the music and it's going to be fun.
And it was so fucking lame.
We felt so old.
There were like 400 people there.
Ultra's a different story.
It's thousands of people.
You feed off the energy of the people around you.
I think that if we went to Ultra, we'd still have a great time.
But boy, oh boy, was that fucking sad as hell.
So sad.
Yeah, I love that music, Josh.
I love it.
So much.
I love it too.
I'm reliving it in my brain.
Yeah.
I just want to dance and burn calories.
What?
You know what else is going on to my brain?
Fucking Dolly Parton.
That sweet woman.
It was fascinating.
I think I saw a tweet where it showed President Trump's statement about her.
One of the rare good ones, you know, living legend.
You know, nobody better.
And he said he's like,
like, I'm lowering the flags all week for Dolly.
And then the Democratic Socialist X-page also honoring Dolly and being a voice for the working class.
And they're like, who could bring together both sides except Dolly party?
Just Dolly.
I don't even, I don't know what she said to people, like that she has Trump like that.
And she also has Obama literally wrote.
I don't know if you saw his post.
He, like, thanked her for her work on the COVID vaccine.
Like, they each claim two, like, completely different pieces of her as their own.
It's very special.
What did she have to do with the COVID vaccine?
No idea.
I have no idea.
Look at his post.
All right, now, Tony.
Now, let me see that MRNA.
Hey, it's Dolly here at Pfizer.
Hi, I'm Dolly here at Johnson and Johnson.
Johnson. I was shocked when I read it. I was like, what the hell? I can't wait to get the poke.
Dolly Barton. I'm used to playing hokey pokey, but I'm just getting the pokey today. And in two weeks, I'll get my second bokey.
Dolly. Oh, wow. What, God, what, you know, you don't get things like this. And then, you know, and then we'll cover this. It's sadly the next day today. Tim Curry from the Rocky Hard Picture Show.
passed away at 80 as well.
Gosh, we are using these legends.
He was a legend.
I need to find this tweet for you because it was so bizarre.
Because, yeah, I was also thinking,
what did she have to do with COVID?
Maybe she just was helpful and instrumental
in galvanizing people.
Oh, yeah.
It's hard to imagine many people having a bigger impact than Dolly Parton.
Born in a one-room cabin,
she earned 11 Grammys and an Emmy,
built a business empire,
helped millions of kids learn to read,
and if that wasn't enough,
helped accelerate the research
that led to the Moderna COVID vaccine.
What a life.
Michelle and I are thinking of Dolly's family
and her many, many fans.
Dolly, we're going to miss you.
Me and Michelle, we love you, Dolly.
Thank you for having such an impact.
What you did with the vaccine and Ivermectin?
She's perfect.
Yeah, what an immense talent.
And think about maybe think of maybe the most popular.
You can't say the most popular song in the 90s because what are you going to say
the macarena?
But she wrote,
I will always love you for Whitney Houston.
That was her song.
Yeah.
She was immensely talented.
And I am trying to think in my head, who is somebody who nobody has a problem with?
I can't name.
I can't, I don't know if I can name another person.
Dwayne Rock Johnson.
Yeah.
I used to say The Rock, but like, I don't know.
I think people just like, they see him.
He's such a businessman.
I think like some people would say that maybe,
maybe he's not as centered.
Maybe he's center right because he's just so business oriented.
I don't know.
Dolly somehow made hundreds of millions of dollars,
but gave the impression that she had nothing to do with it.
She licensed she was like miscapitalist.
Meanwhile, she just sits right in the middle.
I don't know.
And let's be honest, there are people that had issues with The Rock,
and that was Stonecold Steve Austin, Degeneration X, Mark Henry, the Hardy Boys,
and Stephanie McMahon sometimes.
And me.
Half of the cast of the WWE.
No, I loved.
I loved.
He didn't die.
I love The Rock.
I love The Rock.
Sure do.
What's not to love?
Well, shout out, God bless the great Dolly Parton and the great Tim Curry.
Love him.
Love Rocky Horror Picture Show, which I watched at 11 years old too early,
and it left an impact, like too strong of an impact.
And let's see.
Oh, there's another story.
Tim was great.
And an all-time name, Tim Curry.
All-time name.
Well, I know, right?
Tim Curry.
All-time name.
All-time name.
If he could have chose what kind of curry he was, you think he'd be a yellow curry or a red curry man?
You think he'd be more of a Thai curry or an Indian curry?
I think he's Indian curry, big time.
Love.
Big time.
And do you think his ancestors were the same way that the sofers, which in Hebrew is scribe?
I'm sure at some point we were scribes.
Do you think that they were men and women of spices?
Could be.
Sure.
Could be.
Okay.
Or it's just a coincidence.
You think he was related to Eddie Curry?
Could be.
You know, they could have been cousins with Ricky Coriander.
No, I don't know.

Unbelievable how much easier it makes it with Shopify suite of tools.
It is fantastic.

You're going to make it shopable.
You're going to manage inventory.
You're going to test it with friends and family.

Did you hear that Prince Harry and Megan Markle and kids just landed in the UK six years after Megxit?
They're moving back to the UK.
What the heck is happening?
Do you know about this?
I do.
I do.
They failed.
Well, tell me.
Say more.
I'm sure Claudia is very read up on and has a great opinion on this.
Yeah.
So they came.
They made this big stink.
They came to the U.S. to build this big life for themselves.
Megan did her TV shows, did her lines, did all this stuff.
Fuck the queen.
I don't need them.
Fuck the king.
I don't need them.
And they came here.
Nobody liked them.
And they left.
Like it really,
it really is that cut and dry.
Like,
I don't know why it didn't work here.
But the fact that they are going back.
And some will say that they're going back because Charles is in poor health.
But they've also been on record that they don't give a shit.
So I don't know.
I think that.
They fucked around, they found out, and they pieced.
That's what I think.
Could there be a place that would be more resentful towards them than America than the UK?
I mean, here, at least, you know, we didn't actually truly care.
But I feel like back home, the majority of people feel, you know, not great about how it was handled.
Yeah, I think that at home, again, I know absolutely nothing.
But I'm just, I assume that at home they have money, they have houses, they have things.
Do they or do they have to give all that up when they gave up the crown?
They probably formally had to give it up, give it up.
I'm sure that they go back and they say, hey, hey, Gramps, can I, can I grab a house downtown?
Sure, it's still there and it's vacant.
Like, I don't know.
But yes, publicly I'm sure that they had to do all of that.
But, yeah.
I just think that it's a safety net, it's a security net.
So, yeah, they, I don't know, they're, they're so strange.
We'll never really know what's going on over there.
But it's, it's weird.
It's weird, Josh.
Like how people go couch surfing, they're going castle surfing.
You know, we'll hit Windsor, we'll hit Sussex, you know.
Duchess of Sus.
Speaking of the Duchess of Sufts.
Sucks.
Sucks.
Oh my God.
I am watching the touches of sucks.
Don't Google that.
That's it.
It's AI porn.
We can't do these quick turn episodes anymore.
Oh, man.
That's what sucks.
I, Claudia and I started a wonderful British show, Josh.
You will love it, a competition show called Britain's Greatest Home Cooks.
Have you seen it?
No.
HBO, it's fantastic.
Great.
They take 10 home cooks.
They put them in a castle.
And you're thinking, oh, they're sleeping in the castle.
There's going to be drama because that's what we do in American television.
No drama.
They're so nice to each other.
They love each other.
They're just like nice roommates.
There's no drama in the show, except for when they're actually cooking.
There are three judges.
They pick ingredients.
They go and cook with them.
It is a fabulous show.
Fabulous.
Love.
Greatest Home Cooks, hosted by this queen.
Her name is Mary.
I think she's super famous over there.
An older woman, love her.
Love Mary.
It's great.
I highly recommend you check it out.
I mean, I just, I don't know what it is, man.
I love, I tried to start watching Obsession the other day, you know, the horror movie that has like that.
And what was the other one, Kev, Backrooms?
Yeah.
I haven't seen that yet, but I tried to start watching obsession.
and it absolutely crushed and people loved it,
but I just couldn't get into it.
And I just find that I am more leaning towards reality fun.
I want to watch a Househunter's International
and I want to have a calorie conscious snack.
And I want to take some magnesium and knock out.
Glistenate.
Just making sure.
You're obviously on the glist.
Obviously.
This is my first time, my first rodeo.
I'm just making sure.
I'm just making sure.
Josh, I agree.
with you that I would much rather watch a House Hunters International, a Chip and Joe,
anything you, how property brothers, okay?
Love it or list it.
These HG TV shows are freaking fantastic.
They're so good.
I love them.
I want an HG TV show.
That's a dream.
How fun is that?
Yeah, no, it's hard to sit down and watch something that makes you really feel something.
sometimes you don't want that.
Sometimes you just want to like giggle and passively watch and it's not so serious.
But yeah, it takes a lot out of you to watch a movie like obsession.
Well, this is the perfect segue that your boy has a new show that I am hosting for Food Network.
I've been holding it back, but it comes out soon.
We'll know exactly when, but it's going to be in the first week of October on the Food Network.
It's called Sweet to Seat.
And boy, oh boy,
Are you going to love it?
And we are going to hype, hype it up and teach me at a market myself
because I can't do it.
It makes me feel yicky.
We're going to hype it up.
It's going to be huge.
And you don't think that's why I teed up Britain's greatest home cooks?
Please.
You're so smart.
Josh.
Josh, this is food.
Oh, by the way, that's the whole reason I started cooking was so that I could promote
your show on the food network.
We are here.
This has all been tactical.
Over the last three, four years, we've transitioned.
to food people.
We are the food guys,
not the good guys,
the food guys.
And now it's a good time
for us to tell you
that we're changing the name
of our show.
To the food guys.
To the big boys.
Yeah, I'm so excited for you.
It's going to be amazing.
I mean,
the Food Network is so
unbelievably credible.
For me,
it's nostalgic.
It's just like the home
of awesome.
awesome shows.
Ina, I mean, Bobby, I mean, Emerald.
Guy Fierry.
Take that out.
Yeah, like,
Alex Garnichelli.
Yes, she's the best.
Jada.
It's amazing.
And this is just like great entertainment
that is not at all.
There's nothing political.
It's,
just like, you know what I mean? It's just like good fun television. And it's exciting. And it's not
so dramatic. Like the thing with like these reality shows is like they ruin fucking people's lives.
Nobody's ruining anybody's life at the food network. No. If anything, they're actually making
lives. They're creating virality. They are promoting triple D. He's he's building businesses,
Mr. Fieri. So yeah, I'm super proud of you, but this is also, it's a sick opportunity. The Food Network,
unbelievable. It's a blessing. I'm going to mention it way too much leading up to October.
It's eight seasonal Halloween episodes because what's better than watching a cooking show or a food
competition show based around the holidays? And then we got eight Christmas, babe. Eight Christmas in
December. Can you imagine? Yes, we turned our back on Thanksgiving. That was not my choice.
But regardless, it's going to be great. That's amazing. What's it like having to pretend
that it's Halloween and Christmas
whenever you shot this
nowhere near either of those holidays.
June and July.
What's it like waking?
Yeah, yeah.
It's fabulous.
It's Christmas in July,
as we know the Great Hallmark Channel.
They've been capitalizing on that for a long time
and the only thing they're not capitalizing on
is my talents.
Let's go.
My kids are grown up.
I'm ready.
Six picture deal.
Me and Lacey Shabair,
it's going to be freaking magic.
But it's so,
fun. The only issue is my temperature control because as we know, I run hot, hot, hot.
And so I'm in like a Christmas sweater while schvitzing in the middle of July. So there was a lot of
dabbing and a lot of makeup. But otherwise, it was fabulous. That's so fun. I think like, we've been
invited to like, let's say that there's like a reality TV show and they're doing a Halloween episode.
So they invite people on literally a Wednesday in May. Come dressed in costume Wednesday three o'clock.
No.
Right.
Like, no.
No, I'm not doing that.
I'm not doing that.
I don't want to be on the show that badly.
But I always thought that that was fascinating because people think they're like, oh, it's Halloween themed.
They must be filming it on Halloween.
No, sister.
No, dear.
No.
No, this stuff is pre-planned.
It's to go through endless approvals.
Speaking of approvals, Josh, while we're being topical.
Have you seen this Good Good Callaway stuff?
No.
What's going on?
Okay.
So good good is.
the premier.
I've worked with them in the past.
I love them.
Like, they're great people.
They're in some hot water, Josh.
They built, they did a partnership with Calloway.
They're the premier YouTube golfers.
Okay.
And they did a partnership with Calloway making new clubs.
And they debuted this commercial for the clubs where he, the main guy is going.
He's pulling out his, or he sees a woman, who's his friend, but a woman go up and
grab his driver.
And as she's grabbing it up, he throws her to the ground, says, never touch my driver.
And then hits a drive.
Oh, my God.
This is, this, I can't believe you didn't see this.
This is the biggest story.
This is like, the biggest cancellation.
Really?
This is like, oh, yeah, it's big.
I don't, like, look, cancellations normally don't stick.
They are good guys, not to, like, so hopefully they've learned from this and they can move on.
but my God was it a terrible ad.
Terrible ad.
Oh, yeah, yay.
Wow.
And it's just like they're like people who are defending them are saying,
well, they're just friends.
Like you can't look at her as a girl.
If it was a guy, you wouldn't be saying the same thing.
And it's like you can't push a girl to the ground, period.
I don't care if she's your friend.
I don't care if you're buddy, buddy.
And then to put it in a commercial,
it was just the craziest thing and so easily avoidable.
Push down a guy.
or better yet, because have the girl push the guy down.
Have the girl be the one who's hitting the drive.
Yeah, they're in hot water.
But if it was like a super broad R-rated comedy or even a sketch on S&L,
it would fly, right?
Like, the problem is that they're playing themselves.
And so it feels to, I mean, it's not obviously it's unacceptable,
but in a different format would it fly?
Do you think?
The problem is, you, especially when working with a brand like Callaway, you have to understand the political climate that we're in.
Like there is, there is no need.
Could it fly in an S&L?
Sure.
As you know, if something's really funny, it always works.
Sure.
It wasn't really funny.
Got it.
It wasn't.
You just literally see this girl pick up his driver.
He pushes her to the ground and says, don't touch my driver.
And it's like, it wouldn't have been funny if it was a guy.
It's super not funny that it's a girl.
And the fact that this went through so many approvals on both sides and nobody picked it up.
Just stinks.
It just stinks.
I hope it blows over.
Again, I don't think that they did anything maliciously.
But it was just like a, just a bad, bad look and didn't need to happen.
Like, why?
Why?
Jeez, Louise.
trying to think what other interesting things I know.
God, you sure do know a lot.
Well, I think we should get to Woody You Nuts.
Great.
Our Whatty You Nuts moment of the week is our gripes with people, places, and things,
both big and tall, whatever, sticking in your craw.
Josh, I can go.
Great.
New pet peeve of mine, okay?
I'm going to tell you the acceptable version of the scenario and the unacceptable version of the scenario.
Sure.
You're at a restaurant.
You're with a group of people.
The waitress comes over, you're studying the menu, and for five minutes, you keep her,
you hold everybody around you hostage and you don't know what you're ordering.
Okay?
That's certainly annoying.
We can agree it's annoying, but it happens, right?
It happens.
And at least you're only wasting the people, your friends and family who are at dinner with you and the waitress is time.
I recently encountered this in a very, very long line at a coffee shop.
Okay?
The person gets up to the front.
They say, what would you like?
You obviously know what you're fucking getting at the coffee shop.
You're getting an ice Americana.
You're getting a macchiato.
You're getting a cappuccino.
Fucking pick something.
Three minutes.
Hmm.
What's best?
What do you think I should get?
Lady, there's 50 people in line.
Right.
Okay?
Have some consideration.
It's not like you're at a table with your friends and family.
You're holding up 50 individual people.
Okay?
What are you nuts?
If you are going and lining up in any fashion, know what the fuck you want.
You had plenty of time to think about it.
Go order gone.
Absolutely.
That's it.
Just know.
So much, I mean, how fun is it to look at a menu before you get to a restaurant and to start fantasizing?
Fantastic.
It's fantastic.
Just no.
Just no.
And by the way, the number one and two of, like worst people at this are my parents.
Oh, my God.
To be at a restaurant and watch them look at,
should I get this? Should I get this?
No, maybe I'll just get that.
Will we split that?
You'll do that and then I'll do that.
And then you'll do this and I'll do that.
But you want it rare and I want it medium rare.
Okay, fine.
I'll just get.
Benjamin, your mother is my menu muse.
She's my menu muse, Benjamin.
I'm waiting for inspiration ahead.
Ava dear, I think we should split the cornish hen and then we should each get separate things as well.
You love a small bird, Ava.
I love it.
Yeah, dude, looking at the menu before you go is foreplay.
It's like going on a date and like Instagram stalking them before like, ooh, God, they look so cute and this and this and that.
I wonder what they're going to wear tonight.
It's like get, get hyped.
Sometimes days before I start looking.
And if you don't know what you want, say hi, what's the most popular thing here?
What should I order?
You can ask the waiter or waitress, no problem.
You don't just stare at it.
Move on.
Are you this way too, though?
Because when I know when I'm dialed in on what I want to, like, especially if they do this at the wrong place.
Like if you're a cheesecake factory and you ask for the specials, leave now.
Okay?
You want the chicken.
Rajio, you fuck.
Don't ask for specials at Chili's.
The specials are not.
No, no, don't do it.
This is not part of the conversation.
Move on.
They're not special.
No, no.
Yes.
No, by the way, don't ever ask for the specials.
They'll give you them if they're special.
They'll tell you, here's my wall of specials.
If they don't give it to you, don't ask for them.
Oh, let me guess.
The Brandzino.
Oh, is that one of your specials?
Oh, oh, oh, oh, let me guess.
The dry age steak, 28 days, you know, MP, market price.
It should be $700.
Yeah, it should be IP, I'm poor now, IPN, I'm poor now.
Okay.
My would you not too.
The other day I was driving by Party City.
I love the great Party City as we all do.
But I think they're dealing with a bit of a bad, some bad optics.
literally there was a giant sign outside the store and I'm like, oh my God, it's going out of
business. And, you know, I've seen those on a couple of party cities as of late. And the sign
literally read, not closing. We are here to serve you. What are you nuts? It's funny.
If you've got to put that sign outside your story, you've got to figure out some better messaging.
Yeah. What do people, so it's tough.
Party City now sits in just like a strange part of the consumer journey.
Because Spirit Halloween took their lunch money, Josh.
That used to be a great place to get costumes.
Now Spirit Halloween is popping up just during Halloween season and eating all the
Party City's Halloween costume money.
Then if you're looking for things like arts and crafts, you're probably going to Michael's.
balloons?
Like, what the fuck are you getting at Party City?
Party stuff.
Party stuff, Ben.
Yeah, but you can just, like, go on GoPuff and get party stuff.
Like, you can go to Target and get party stuff.
I'm saying, like, the niche of Party City.
I don't know why I would go there specifically for party stuff when everyone sells it.
Target, Walmart, like, you can get Costco.
You can get all of that stuff there.
Amazon.
Oh, my God.
Bye-bye.
Get all of it on Amazon.
And you don't have to schlep it.
I think Amazon is definitely the replacement.
You know, they have specific, like if you're having a grad party,
if you're having a bachelorette party,
like they have party-specific things that probably Target or Walmart
just as a general, you know, birthday things.
They're more general.
It's not a city of partying.
Sure.
But you're right.
I'm sure Amazon, like stores like Party City now exist to get things on the day.
Or like it's one of those last places where they have a wall.
of a hundred different balloons.
And you can be like, give me E2 and C4.
And, you know, it's those mylar giant balloons
that you can only get there.
But you're right.
It's lost a lot of its market share.
And don't get me wrong.
I love a party city.
That said, that place will be completely out of business
within the next two years.
Oh, it hurts.
It's on its last leg.
Oh, it hurts.
It's on its last leg.
You know what's not on its last leg?
This podcast.
It's five.
