The following podcast is a dear media production.
I'm Josh Peck.
And I'm Ben Sauffer.
And we're the good guys.
There's a lot of guys out there.
And we're the good ones.
Mazumorons, welcome back to the Good Guys podcast.
We're sitting here with a guy who doesn't like group sex, but he does like group therapy.
It's Ben Sauffer.
Who said I don't like group sex?
Nobody ever asks me.
Like, I can't not like something that I've never done.
Have you had group sex, Josh?
God, you're disgusting.
Only when I was 300 pounds.
only when I weighed the weight of two people.
Oh, that's funny.
Oh, that's funny.
Josh, I think that it's important to discuss that, I don't know if you're feeling this too.
I've been reading it online a little bit.
September is the new January.
Like, the way that people are feeling post-summer heading right into fall, at least in this big, beautiful city,
September is the new January.
We're trying to eat well.
We're trying to get clear skin.
We're trying to get our things in order to crush the end of the year.
I don't know if you're feeling that way as well on the West Coast,
but September is the new January.
It's a new year.
Ball is beautiful.
As soon as it changes to PSL over at Starbucks,
I feel like I'm ready to watch a Hallmark movie,
wrap myself in some heavy sort of fabric,
and just, yeah, start a fire, sanctioned or not,
in a fireplace or not.
not. I just want to throw on a cozy sweater. That's all. Have it be, I don't know, low 50s. Today in
the city, though, is gorgeous. It's 65. It's just pristine. I'm wearing these short shorts,
letting the wind flow through me. It's just fantastic. Yeah, but you're going to get hit,
but that's the problem, right? Because we're going to get hit with these spouts of like five days of
a hundred degree weather coming up. Yeah. And you're not going to know what to do. And we're
going to talk about global warming and none of us really know what we're talking about.
I gained 15 pounds this summer, Josh.
15.
You did?
Yeah, 15.
I got home.
I weighed myself.
I'm now down 12 after a Barry's boot camp yesterday and a day of clean eating.
15 fucking pounds.
Can you believe that?
It's unacceptable.
It's unacceptable.
It's unacceptable.
I'm out here taking, I'm out here because I stopped taking a Zembek about a month ago.
just to see how it would go.
And I'll tell you how it went.
Every single night, I'd eat a bag of Skittles.
Like, that's how it went.
Like, I would eat nicely throughout the day, whatever.
It didn't help that my sister-in-law Jackie
baked a fresh loaf of bread every day.
What are you nuts?
It's delicious, but I can't eat this much bread.
And then at night, I would just have, like, a bag of Skittles.
And I think it's just Skittles every day.
It starts to add up.
So up 15.
now up net 12.
I'm trying to get back to even at the end of September.
A bag of Skittles.
What are you in ninth grade?
I love Skittles.
Oh, my God.
You know what?
And I'll tell you.
I'm going to turn you on to something.
Skittles minis,
you ever have them?
No, I'm a grown-up.
Oh, no, Josh.
Skittles minis are it.
Ooh, they're it.
It's so funny.
What's your candy of choice?
Oh, please.
I'm a gummy king.
I like, you know, sour patch kids.
I'll do any kind of gummy.
I like chocolates.
I like a Reese's pieces.
My favorite is to get like a hot, like a piping hot bowl of popcorn and throw those
Reese's pieces in there and just shovel them into my face until I black out.
What do you do with the chocolate on your hands?
This is what I never understood.
It's just messy.
At this point, I'm in such a.
shame tunnel that it's like worrying about my hands that that's nothing to worry about.
You're fine. You're just taking them, wiping them on your shirt and you're done.
Yeah. My mom does that sometimes when she's wearing like one of her calf tans or one of her like
her mummoos, she'll be like eating something. She'll wipe it on her chest. And I'm like,
mom, are you okay? And she'll be like, listen, it's all going in the wash. And I'm like,
All right.
We got to get Barbara a towel material caftan
so that she can wipe it and it's done.
No problem.
No stains, no nothing.
Like a terry cloth.
I think that's when you make the case for euthanasia.
Josh,
why do you want to euthanize your mom?
She's using her calf tans as a napkin.
I mean,
the woman is a walking mom.
mustard stain.
So upsetting.
Yeah.
So you put on 12 pounds.
Yes.
That would be,
granted,
I don't weigh myself
because I'm very,
I'm very fucked up
when it comes to that.
But like,
I,
if I put on 15 pounds,
it would,
I would be in a bad place.
I was definitely upset.
You know what I'll,
you know what I'll say,
though,
to it,
which I was proud of.
my endurance hasn't changed. I did my first ever Barry's class yesterday. I don't know if you
ever done Barry's boot camp, but I used to look at these people who said Barry's and I was like,
you are, you are fucking annoying as hell. Like, stop throwing your Barry's in my face. And I went to
Barry's, and I have to tell you, it was a fantastic experience. Everybody that goes to Barry's
is always like, it's so hard, it's so hard, it really wasn't that hard. I made it through the entire
class. It's a combination of cardio and weightlifting. And even up the 15 pounds, I was able
to get through it. It seems that my endurance is fine. That said all of my shirts were a little bit
tighter and I just went through a period where I bought all new stuff. I was a large, Josh,
a large in this company made well. They don't fit anymore. So now I need to lose the 12 pounds again
so I can fit back into these shirts and then by the time I can fit back into them, it's time
to put my summer wardrobe away. But how is it that, what were you at your smallest, like 225, 230?
the lightest I've ever been or during this period.
This period.
During this period, the lightest I ever was was 239.
And this morning, I was 251.
But how is it that you could be 239 in a size large and I'm 190 in a size large?
It's an excellent question.
I think that perhaps I wear clothing slightly too tight.
Perhaps some clothing is cut differently than others.
Perhaps your biceps are much bigger than mine.
Barely.
I don't know.
What's your neck size?
15 and a half?
God damn it.
You're such a little twink.
15 and a half.
You're the farmer's son.
I don't know what that means.
Neither do I.
No, I'm probably 15 and 3 quarters, if I'm being honest with myself.
But that's a problem is that I have like a nice little thin little cutesy, like little like squeak neck.
But then like I have this robust barrel chest.
that I'm breaking at the seams.
And this is why you're all large.
It makes sense.
But so you need custom shirts.
I need custom everything.
I've got bow legs, no confidence.
I need it.
How do we not have a custom clothes sponsor here?
Because somebody's slacking.
I used to work with Caraco suits.
Shout out.
They made my tucks for my wedding.
And I'm just saying if Caraco happens to hear this,
we'd like some shirts.
Caraco needs to get into wine spirit.
or like alcohol.
Because a company called Caraco, like, oh, put some blue Caraco in there.
That I believe.
It's nice.
I know.
But it's nice.
It's nice.
And that blue cura cell, oh, baby, that'll miss you up.
I love some drinks.
What do we do for Labor Day weekend?
What did you and the fam do on your glorious Monday off?
Max didn't have school, right?
But sorry, this is my last question.
You've been in the Hamptons for two months.
And I know you work a lot.
You shot a lot of content.
You're always doing supper scripts, the pod.
But certainly you would admit probably that you had some nice leisure time too,
which you guys deserved having this beautiful sort of time away from the city.
How did you not crush a workout every day?
I did something every day.
I think I just ate a lot more.
I was very active.
We went on hikes.
I had the live method.
I did Soto methods.
It's like I was active.
It's just I was eating so much because we really never left the house.
Like here's a day in my Hampton schedule.
Wake up in the morning, walk Romeo, come back, start calls, work till midday, make myself lunch,
come back, maybe do something in the afternoon, maybe shoot some content, maybe work,
maybe record podcast episodes.
We'd eat, I was cooking nonstop.
I would cook us dinner.
And like when I cook, like I cook what, sometimes I'm cooking healthy, but sometimes I'm just like cooking what I want to eat.
And like throughout the day, I'm going and seeing Jackie's gorgeous sourdough and grabbing just a piece of bread as a snack.
And then we'd watch a movie at night together.
And if you're watching a movie every night, Josh, you're eating snacks every night.
Sure.
I was just not in my normal routine.
So while I was active, I was eating far too much.
And that in combination with the lack of Ozempic, I think just created about a half a pound gained per day in the month of
August. I hear you, but not only do I hear you, I hear that. No, but we're back. We're back.
We're in our routine. We're here. We're here. It's September. It's the new January. This is what I'm saying.
No, I hear that. Slender September. Slend tender.
Oh, how is not like Chick-fil-A taking that on for like grilled tenders? Now for our Chick-fil-A,
slendors. That's pretty good. Could be good. They should take it for.
For sure. For sure. Or for like a skinny tender. The skender.
The skender. I don't think we did anything good for Labor Day. I don't know what we did for the weekend.
Three-day weekends in general when you have kids. You know that you have one child out of school and federal holidays.
You just have to give the nanny the day off. Oh. No, I'm kidding. So you just, you're kind of like hunkered down because you know that it's going to be three.
long days. So I took Max and Shai the morning, Saturday morning. We did a whole park thing.
Gorgeous, beautiful. Then we went to the mall. I love the mall. Always have always will.
My son loves chicken terriaki and rice. Just simple. No vegetables. Keep your vegetables. So we crush that.
And now my little guy, who's almost two, can come and hang too.
So do you in these coasts, do you guys have Westfield malls?
No.
If we do, not here.
Shout out to the Westfield Wall conglomerate, the Westfield Mall.
I don't even know what you would say.
Big Westfield.
They basically like own and take over malls.
And then they kind of design them in a very family-friendly way.
So I've always seen these things, family room.
What?
Family room.
I'm at H&M.
Well, family room.
Whose family?
Not my family.
Well, you get a family.
You go to the mall.
You go, let me look at this family room.
I'm not a creep anymore.
If you're a single guy, you want to see what the family room looks like, you're going to jail.
Can't do it.
Just like you can't be a single guy and go to a trampoline park alone.
No.
No.
No.
No.
No, and you can't be a single person in an airport and go into the pet relief station.
He can't do it.
You don't own a pet.
You don't belong in there.
What are you going to do?
Steal the pets?
Do you know I once went into a pet relief?
I'm so sorry.
I went to a pet relief room once at an airport.
And do you know why I went?
No, but they smell so bad.
I went to confirm that it smelled like piss.
And how bad did it smell?
But how dumb am I going?
Oh, this can't smell like piss.
Nah, it does.
Of course it does.
Of course it does.
But it's like whoever came up with this concept of we're going to make a room and have people pee,
dogs pee all over the walls and never clean it.
Like dogs don't want to pee in there either.
It's disgusting.
But that's because, and shout out, if you need a truly, if you truly need obviously a service animal,
these people, I mean, service animals should be treated better than the president of the United States.
But like, and if you truly, truly need an emotional relief dog, shout out, respect, emotional support.
Got it, get it.
We're not worried about being canceled at all.
Well, I'm not, no, I'm like, shout out.
But I think we all know that people have completely taken advantage of the system.
Just also walk your dog before you get into the airport.
That's it.
Walk your dog outside of LaGuardia.
Let them take a piss on the trash can right outside.
If your dog can't hold its bladder for an hour,
then your dog needs an emotional support dog.
Imagine that.
Imagine you with an emotional support dog
and then another dog that's the emotional support dog for your dog.
Like your emotional support dog is like a black lab,
but their emotional support dog is like a cute little Maltese.
Yeah.
And the Maltese like Rides.
on top of the black lab.
Yeah.
Like an elephant and.
And they're wearing a smaller vest that says,
don't pet me.
I'm working.
It's really funny.
And if you just think about it like not,
like it just keeps going that dog.
It's an emotional support dog for that dog for that dog for that dog.
And they just get smaller and smaller.
It just ends with an emotional support mouse.
Oh, man.
Oh my God, that's so dumb.
So funny.

GNC. Look, one strategy for maintaining your weight is of course, it's exercise and I've been through a very
public weight journey. You've all seen it. You all love it. But the truth is, is like, I love sharing the
hacks that I have found to like make that journey just a little bit easier. And there's working,
you know, harder, but then there's working smart.
And one hack I've been using to get more mileage out of my workouts is taking Create Wellness,
creatine gummies from GNC.
First of all, they're blue raspberry, babe, they're a treat.
They're delicious.
But the best part is you're not like carrying creatine powder with you and like mixing it while
you're, you know, in the parking lot of your local gym looking like you're about to go
to like a bodybuilding show, you know?
But the truth is, is like creatine, it's a, I used to be a no supplement guy.
Now I like to take supplements that are highly researched, which creatine is, which definitely
helps with my workouts.
You know, it helps me to work out a little longer, a little harder, burn more calories.
It just fuels my energy during exercise.
And it has been shown to possibly have some cognition benefits too, just saying.
So I love it.
You'll love it.
And right now you can get 15% off Create Wellness, Creatine Gummys, plus all our GNC favorites

GnC.com slash Good Guys and use code Good Guys 15 at checkout.
You were saying Westfield Malls.
Oh, Westfield Malls.
So now I get to go into the family room with my kids.
So we go, we get our chicken terriaki, beautiful.
Then they have these beautiful family rooms with like, first of all, in the bathroom part of it.
Like there are two bathrooms.
They have a mini toilet for kids.
Gross, I know, but like cute.
So they can handle their biz.
And then they have like,
they have little private nursing quarters for mothers who are nursing.
And then they just have like a kind of a hangout place with toys with little tables.
So we get out our chicken terriac.
We're there.
My kids are loving it.
I'm not like worried about chasing them because we're kind of closed off.
It's so family friendly.
It is indeed a family.
leave room. How nice is that? It is lovely. Lovely. I love a mall. We don't have enough in the city.
Our malls are nasty. Like if there's a mall in Manhattan, you don't want to go there. Do they still
have Manhattan Mall? No, thank God. It's they got rid of it. A&S, remember? They use it, they use it
weirdly. It's like an event space, that mall. I went to like ad week at that space. Yeah,
that mall was skeevy. No good. I grew up going there. But now I guess they have like,
cuts in yards and they have like the Oculus.
Like they have kind of pseudo-mowls.
But like nothing like there's no place to really go get as you said like a nice
sesame chicken, a little taster of a sesame chicken, catch a movie, hit a gap.
It doesn't exist.
Right.
And God do I wish it did.
Now if you want to go to said mall, are you going to Paramus?
Are you going to Roosevelt Field and Long Island?
You go to Short Hills?
My favorite mall is the Palisades Mall.
Have you ever been to the Palisades Mall?
No.
It's Rockland County.
It's about 40 minutes from here.
And that mall is just, it's just everything and more, everything and more.
I grew up going to that mall.
They used to have a restaurant in that mall called Stir Crazy.
And Stir Crazy was basically the fine dining version of Chipotle if it was Asian.
So you walk up to this bar.
You take a big bowl and you put in everything that you want in your stir fry.
Let's say it's baby corn.
Let's say it's chicken.
Let's say it's tofu.
Whatever it may be, you pile it high.
You pick your noodle, like a flat noodle.
You then pick your sauces like garlic, tariaki, sweet chili, whatever.
The guy throws it all into a wok, prepares it for you and gives it to you.
It's my favorite place in the whole world.
Stir crazy.
Let me tell you, the wok, not the walk, any kind of Mongolian barbecue, I call it
walk. The place where I go is called Big Walk. When you get that dehydrated frozen meats
with those vegetables. And I love it because they have all those different sauces. And they try
to tell you one, one scoop of terriaki, one scoop of soy sauce. I go, if one is good, five is better.
Yes. I just start smacking that in the plate. I got those noodles shooting off the plate. People go up
to these gigantic barbecue places.
like it's their last meal and I love it.
And then, you know, what you got to do?
You got to let the chefs see you throw a fiver in there, right?
You throw a five in a little tip jar.
Absolutely.
Oh my God, it's going to be grilled up like you've never had.
So you understand the vibe.
This is the vibe.
This is what I love.
This is what's missing.
This is what's missing, especially in New York.
We have all of these like Chipotle knockoffs, right?
We have the Kava's.
Kava's totally good.
Chava's totally good, but where is the kava for Asian fusion?
Where is it?
And I'm not talking to Panda Express.
I get it.
You can walk up, you can pick up your General Chow's chicken.
I'm talking about a selection where you can pick, just like stir crazy,
everything that you want in your stir fry.
Where is it?
Well, you just told it on yourself, Ben, so be embarrassed
because anyone who's a true panda head knows Panda doesn't have General Chous.
They're renowned for their orange.
Orange chicken. Where is the innovation, Josh? Where is it? They just came out with spicy orange chicken. Have you not tried? No good. It's bomb.com. They're basing beef, dog. No good. I want to keep dying like this. You should. Dog, what's your, oh my God, me and my son will go tear it up. Speaking of Dog Panda Express. Oh, my God. Yeah, what would have gone? Way to go. Well, you know, I do know someone who had quite the incredible Labor Day and that is a Miss.
Olivia, our wonderful producer, take it away.
Hello, hello.
You're going to love this, Ben.
My boyfriend and I decided to spend the day with a resort pass,
which is like where you can book a nice, you know, day pass at a hotel pool, basically,
and enjoy it, get some drinks, have some lounge time, what have you.
My choice initially was to go to the W in Hollywood.
Looked like they had an excellent rooftop pool.
I'm like, babe, let's see.
do it, you know, let's go for it. He, however, hates parking so much that he would literally
rather do anything or go anywhere else than Hollywood. So he decided that we were going to go to
a universal city walk instead, that area, and go to the Hilton pool there. Oh, yeah, it was a,
it was a day. It was a day that was had. The pool, excellent facilities, to be quite frank,
like, it was quite clean, which I wasn't expecting, to be honest, a nice,
nearby. It ended up working out all right. But the thing that really took the day away and really
just like, you know, sent it to call back to your shame spiral, Josh, was we thought about going to
the cheesecake factory afterwards and we certainly did. And we went to the cheesecake factory after
that. So not only are we at a family friendly pool, but then, you know, we kind of take this pivot.
And to also mention a mall, the Sherman Oaks Galleria Cheesecake Factory, it was an interesting
place to make that decision.
Been there many a times.
Many a times.
Absolutely.
It'd been about four years since either one of us was at a cheesecake factory.
Four years.
Yeah.
It had been quite some time.
So the nostalgia was calling.
We go in.
And I suppose I have a palate somewhat similar to your son because my favorite
dish there was the chicken terriaki.
And it's got like some grilled banana and pineapple with it.
But they don't make it anymore.
So grilled banana.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You beat me to it.
What are you nuts?
I don't even like bananas.
With your chicken terriaki, that is very strange.
It was.
It adds a little bit to like an island flavor, though.
So you kind of see the theme, I guess, that that was going on.
I don't know.
But it was just a really interesting day overall.
It was topped off by going to bed at eight because like, how do you live with yourself
after making all of those decisions in a row?
So that was my day.
You don't, but it sounds fantastic.
Well done.
And that was all done on Saturday.
All on Saturday.
See, you did it right.
And this is sort of a general PSA.
If you have a long weekend, if you have Monday off, trust me, be finished with your weekend Sunday.
That's right.
Because your Monday will be so amazing if you really do that.
Like we came back from the Hamptons at 9 a.m. on Sunday.
That way Sunday was like our catch-up day.
And then yesterday felt fantastic.
I was just off and I could,
I didn't have to nurse a hangover or whatever it was.
I was just off.
Yeah.
And Sunday night, before I forget,
I have to talk about this.
Sunday night,
we went to the U.S. Open, Josh.
And let me say,
first of all,
amazing brand sent us,
Wear SPF,
love them, sunscreen company.
They're fantastic.
I'm going to send you sunscreen.
My friend Justin Thomas started at the golfer.
Amazing sunscreen.
Amazing event, whatever.
the U.S. Open every single year I want to go.
Every single year I have to leave early because it's too hot.
It's just too hot.
And so I'm here to say that Arthur Ash Stadium is a what are you nuts.
Arthur Ash Stadium is so severely overrated as an outdoor venue.
It has zero ventilation.
And no matter how cool it is, it has no ventilation.
The roof is open.
I know.
You have to be there to experience it.
I'm telling you, it's a sauna.
I've been there.
Even when the roof is open.
I bet.
A sauna.
That's, no.
Would you say that like, here's the thing.
I could see Paige and I living in New York and the U.S.
Open coming at the end of August and me going,
we don't ever watch Dennis Page.
And she'd be like, no, we should go.
It's here.
Once a year, we need to go.
It seems like, is that you?
Is it just because it's where to be seen that you guys go?
It's also because it's like,
it's like a cool event that happens to be 30 minutes away.
Like it's,
it's a,
it's a nationally watched event that everybody loves.
It's here.
So we go.
It's like a thing.
And especially like,
I'm not going to turn down free tickets.
Like if a,
if a brand or something wants to,
if we're fortunate enough to be taken,
like we're going to go to a cool event for sure.
Yeah, I'm not a,
I'm not a huge tennis guy.
It's not my,
It's not my sport at all.
It's not it.
This episode of the Good Guys podcast is brought to you by Fume.
Fume is a vaping alternative, okay?
Fume allows you to have that beautiful sensation of using a vape,
but without the negative effects of the nicotine and, of course, the tobacco.
Fume is flavored air,
and the flavored air category is quickly becoming the leading alternative to vapid
and smoking. It's a whole new movement towards better habits led by the sponsor of today's
episode, Fume. Fume is an award-winning flavored air device. Flavored air isn't like vaping. If vapor
was compared to sticky soda, fume cores are closer to herbal teas. Fume has lots of delicious
flavors to choose from, like crisp mint and orange vanilla. I personally love the crisp mint.
keeps my breath minty fresh. It's fantastic. With flavored air, you can satisfy your oral fixation
through a passive diffusion system that utilizes no electronics, vapor, or combustion.
Fume draws flavor into your mouth. Fume fills the void ditching a bad habit can leave. You still
have something to reach for. Fume is not a vape. No vapor so you can use it anywhere. No nicotine,
so it's not addictive, non-toxic flavors.
It is a guilt-free alternative.
And Fume continuously invests in third-party studies
to ensure the safety of their products.
Fume is backed by doctors in the United States.
Again, folks, I love the mint.
The orange vanilla is really great as well.
They are fantastic products
that either help you break a habit
or they're just fun in case you didn't have the habit already.
They're just fun and delicious.
Fume has served over 300,000 customers and you can be their next success story.

So the wonderful Olivia who turns us on to new things constantly.
I didn't know there was a thing called Resort Pass, so I thought we could play a fun game
where we explore, and this is not sponsored at all, but Resort Pass, what are you nuts?
We explore the possible resort passes and maybe in New York and then L.A.
Let's see how much it costs.
And let's see what you think.
So I don't even know if you know these places.
The Virgin Hotels in New York City?
I do, yes.
They're on 27th Street and Broadway.
It's actually a brand new facility.
And I'm sure it's lovely.
Well, the pool, if you just want a chair for the day, it's $80.
If you want a cabana, only $200.
What a deal.
And a daybed, $150.
Not bad.
It's a good deal.
No, it's a good deal.
Let me tell you the flaw with this resort pass, Josh.
How do you feel if you're staying in the hotel and all of a sudden your pool is completely
clogged with people that aren't staying in the hotel?
Aren't you pissed?
Totally pissed.
So upset.
But, you know, granted, I've never said to the Hilton Universal City, but no.
I've been there for my friend Danielle's Kintaniera, but I, it was a lovely time.
I wore a three-piece suit.
I was 300 pounds.
But I, shout out Danielle.
I've been to the facility.
I grew up right by the hotel.
I've like seen the facilities.
It's lovely.
And it's huge, right?
Because it's L.A., it's big.
It's a huge Hilton Hotel for a theme park.
But in New York, everything is super small.
So that feels like it'd get crowded.
Yes, yes.
Well, there is, let's see, the William Vale.
Do you know this?
I've heard of it as well.
Is it in Brooklyn?
Probably, probably Williamsburg.
A cabana, $600 for the day.
Whoa.
A daybed, $200.
Okay.
Whoa.
Let's see what else.
Let's do,
um,
you can say the collective governor's island,
a New York City retreat,
a $55 day pass.
What about,
do they have anything at the courtyard Marriott near LaGuardia?
No,
I've stayed there.
I know.
You took me there once in Long Island City.
Don't call me what you and that's for saying there.
When you were the one who took us to JFK Airport for
dinner. And then you were like, wow, this is a long drive. I'm like, dog, I'm leaving it LaGuardia.
But Parkside is delicious. It was worth it. Not really, though. The Margaritaville resort in Times Square.
Did you know that Jimmy Buffett had a hotel in Times Square? Oh, my God. The Margaritaville in
Times Square is the scariest sounding. Like, I wouldn't even, I wouldn't even walk in the lobby.
Well, for $100 you can walk into the pool
That's one of those pools where when you leave your green
Like I
Sounds pretty awesome
I have a distinct memory Josh
It was probably, I don't know, 2014
Claudia and I went and we did
We did some work with the hard rock in Atlantic City
Uh-huh
And we went to their pool
Their pool water was brown.
Wow.
Like just like a light shade of brown.
And that's what I think of the Margaritaville Times Square pool.
It's probably like a light shade of brown.
I mean, shout out Jimmy Buffett for really like being quite the entrepreneur.
Well, okay.
So in L.A., the W. Hollywood, as the wonderful Olivia mentioned, a $54 day pass.
And really lovely.
I've been to that pool.
lovely. Okay, now let's start getting pricing.
The four seasons, $220 for a single day pass or $800 for a cabana.
Now we're starting to...
Why is the four seasons? Are they broke?
Like, why are they doing this?
Well, this is brand, it's brand degrading. Is it not?
It's like, it's weird.
On a week day?
I don't know.
Oh, is it's only for?
Oh, it's only specific times?
No.
So this is like two.
I was just checking, I was checking a week from today.
So the 10th.
Got it.
Okay.
I mean, it's just.
Maybe it's okay.
It's easy money, baby.
I know.
I will say, I think they cap the amount that they sell per day as to like not overwhelm the
capacities of the pools.
They cap.
That would make sense.
Yeah.
That would make sense.
And then for some they will like not, you have to buy a chair and other ones you can just
buy like a ticket into the space.
So like you're not guaranteed a chair.
So there's like a couple things I think they're trying to be weary of overcrowding.
Well, the Fairmont Hotel in Santa Monica is a $92 day pass or you can get a $1,000 day room.
Wow.
I've stayed at that hotel.
It's beautiful, but the rooms are $300.
Why wouldn't you get a room for $300 instead of a day room for $1,000?
Maybe I haven't been there.
What am I missing?
Maybe you haven't been there recently, maybe.
Maybe not.
But yeah, I mean, this is fascinating.
I mean, it is.
I like to know that there's access if I ever needed it.
It's good.
It's definitely good to know.
It is noted.
Did you see, I've made a mental note.
Did you see that the wonderful, hold on, I was just reading about this, that the Olympic rugby star, who's now going to be or is on the cover of the swimsuit edition for Sports Illustrated, you heard about this?
Is this Alana Moer?
Mm-hmm.
Yes.
I know her.
She's fantastic.
She is fantastic, isn't she?
I just love it.
I just love that she's just like unapologetically herself in a sport that is historically just like not viewed as very feminine.
And she just like went in there and is like, fuck you.
I'm a badass woman and I'm going to wear makeup and I'm going to just like still be badass at rugby.
Like she's super cool.
She is badass.
And also I just love when I see people like this.
literally taking advantage of having like, first of all,
she's incredible at her sport,
but clearly she's incredibly savvy and funny
when it comes to social media.
And parlaying that into money, money, money, money, money.
I just, my hat is off.
I really respect it.
She's clearly got a great team.
The agents, the managers, whoever's on that team,
they're doing her right.
She's crushing.
But she's on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimtooth edition.
Yeah.
Good for her.
you, good for her. What would you, would you ever do Playgirl? Yeah. I was going to say, why haven't
they asked us to do? Sports Illustrated Swim suit edition. I would do it. I know. There's no
mail edition, huh? No. I see a hole in the market. Well, did you know that there's a man,
get ready to get scared, guys, a man allegedly posed as a doctor and performed plastic surgery
on women in L.A.
A man accused opposing as a doctor
and performing cosmetic surgery
on a woman in Los Angeles
is now facing criminal charges.
His name is Christian Latour
and he's been charged with one count of assault
with a deadly weapon, one count of battery,
and that's about it?
I think that's the story.
No, no, no, here we go.
Where did she find him?
According to prosecutors,
he was impersonating a doctor
and had no medical license
when he carried out the surgery
10 days later, Latour allegedly treated the woman for infections stemming from the surgery.
Then nearly two months after that, prosecutors say, he treated the woman again for even more complications.
She went back three times.
Like, what?
Oh, God.
How do you do that?
I don't know.
It sounds, I'm sorry to victim blame.
It's on her.
This is, you got to be smarter than this.
It says the episode hasn't come out.
Followers.
I know.
like we just spoke about this.
Our beautiful listeners haven't heard our incredible episode
that we recently recorded with Dr. Diamond.
Monday.
It'll be out Monday.
Monday.
It'll be out this Monday.
Plastic Surgeon to the Stars.
What a fun episode.
What a great guy.
But we spoke a lot, Josh,
a lot about going to unqualified people for things
that you should go to qualified people for.
Just do your research.
Spend a little more money.
I'm like, it's no good.
It's no good.
This poor woman, this crook guy, no good.
Don't I know it?
Don't I know it?
Well, should we get into a speak pipe or do you want one more story?
Up to you.
If you got a barn burning story, I'm open to hearing some weirdness.
Okay, well, flight attendants have revealed who are the most difficult on flights.
It seems to be encouraged.
She's putting these passengers on the no fly list, picking the most irritating.
passengers might seem daunting given the number of air barbarians lately.
However, one UK flight attendant has taken on the Herculean task and listed the passengers
who caused her the most pain in the air.
And it's not celebrities.
Okay, let's see.
Should we guess who it would be?
Yes.
Go for it.
Okay.
What type of person, Josh, without reading it, do you think would be the most difficult
passenger?
I would say.
people getting drunk on a flight.
Okay.
People drinking too much.
Okay.
I would agree with that.
The last time I was on a plane,
a guy next to me,
and you're sober,
you know that this is a no good.
The guy next to me asked the waitress
for a vodka water.
You ever hear something so strange?
Can I have a vodka water?
I have, but it's an aggressive order.
It's an aggressive order for an airplane.
Like you're just trying to take the,
the burn out of your vodka, but it was a one-hour flight from South Carolina to New York.
It's nothing.
Or Vermont to New York, excuse me.
I think that besides the drunk people, the most annoying would probably be, I don't know who I'm
not going to offend.
We'll go with drunk people.
Yeah, drunk people.
I mean, look, self-righteous people.
The problem is that we deal with dickheads on the roads every day, right?
with people being
but the reality is
you could just drive away
but if you're stuck in a plane
with that guy who like wants to make a meal out of it
really cause everyone
like someone who has broken the social contract
your worst nightmare in traveling
is someone who does not have to get to their destination today
because that is the ace of the sleeve
for anyone who wants to mess your day up
because it can be like
We can sit here all day.
And they go, sir, if you don't get off the plane, we're going to have to clear the whole plane out.
And you're like, do it.
Bad.
Yep.
That's too much power.
Well, too much power.
It says the main problem lie in the routes like Dubai and Vegas, where you get the influencer type that maybe hasn't paid full price.
Can't relate.
Some restaurateurs might agree that they're freebie seeking restaurant counterparts,
equally irritating.
What is this a hit piece on influencers?
Where is this coming from?
Oh, she wrote, it's very common for people in L.A. to take sleeping tablets, things like Valium, and then they get on board and drink.
And that changes people's character.
Oh, my God.
This woman seems like a drag.
I mean, geez, Louise.
Although my friend, a guy I know did take Xanax and drank on a plane and when they landed and died.
Had to be resuscitated when they landed in Atlanta.
Yeah, this is, I never understand.
stood this. Like, just, just stop it. Stop drinking on Xanax. These kids, no good. Your brain will never
recover. Your brain will never recover. The other people are mile high clubbers, sick flyers,
and those who stowed their jackets and overhead bins. Sick flyers, I understand. I never understood
it. I guess maybe you need to get home to your flying sick. But just,
Just don't do it if you don't have to.
Don't do it if you don't have to.
If you have the flu and he cannot fly, please don't fly.
Don't do it.
It's not nice.
It's not nice.
Well, let's get into a speak pipe.
If you want to ask us questions or get advice from us,
go to speakpipe.com slash good guys and we will give you advice.
Keep it brief.
Brevity is key.
Let's hear from somebody.
Hi, Josh and Ben.
Major Moron here and also a toast.
and I just wrote this exact thing into deer toasters and I also want a meal's perspective on it.
So basically two months ago, I went to a wedding for one of my best guy friends from high school.
And at that point, I was about two and a half months out of a really bad breakup.
So this was the end of June.
It's now the beginning of September.
The groom, my guy friend, his cousin came up to me at the wedding and we like really hit it off.
we were dancing.
We ended up spending the night together.
And the next morning when we woke up before it was time to leave,
we exchanged phone numbers.
And he proposed doing an evening or a weekend trip,
one of the following coming up weekends to come see me to kind of like see where things
went.
And we talked every day and we made plans when he was supposed to be in town,
made dinner reservations.
He called off work.
I rearranged part of my work schedule.
And a couple of days before.
you're supposed to come. He bailed. I was able to put it out of my mind for the rest of the summer.
I haven't really thought about him at all until this past weekend. And now it's been like eating at me.
I don't know if I should reach out or just move on. I don't know. We really, I don't know,
it felt different, but I'm also notoriously hopelessly romantic. Please help.
The part that killed me was, I've been able to put it out of my mind.
That hurts.
It's no good.
Here's the problem.
He's an asshole,
but you lost your moment.
Like,
you can't,
this was two months ago.
Is that what you said?
It's over.
You met him once.
You had a nice time.
You spoke.
You set up a nice weekend.
He fucked it up.
In that moment,
you could have said,
you're such an asshole.
Why did you do that?
But now that it's been two months,
if you say like,
hey,
remember me, you were a jerk two months ago, it doesn't work anymore.
The time to say something has passed.
What do you think, Josh?
I'm wondering if he is a complete asshole or when something as, and it can be exciting and cool
and very rom-com, dare I say, Hallmark movie about meeting someone and then jumping
to a weekend together a few weeks later.
But I think at every moment, you have to acknowledge that, like, what we're doing is kind of crazy, right?
It's not that crazy, but it's like, we're definitely, like, jumping a few steps here.
So if at any point, one of the people in that equation goes, oh, wait, this is crazy and goes, maybe not,
I think you can be annoyed, and that is frustrating.
But if they give you ample warning, like a couple days, I think you just kind of go,
it was kind of crazy.
And you just chalk it up to that.
Like you thought you had someone who was down to clown and be crazy with you.
They opted out of the crazy.
And it's a bummer.
But I don't think it's anything worth being devastated over it.
Agreed.
Agreed entirely.
Agreed.
But, you know, keep on, keep it on.
Next one.
Hey, guys.
I was just listening to your latest podcast.
And it was at the part where Josh,
was talking about how his mom
didn't know what gas lighting was
and my mother is Polish
and I have taught her that word
but she still doesn't call it
by the right thing and so
she uses it in context and every time
she says and you know
it would gas lamping me
and I crack up every time
just thought I could share
that is good
to protect that woman
You're gas lamping me
It's like my dad calls Chipotle
Chapotle.
Like people like
I think they do it on purpose.
I think they think it's funny.
My mom called it rockamole for like
way too long.
And I was like,
they think it's fun.
You're you know you're saying it the wrong way, right?
She goes, well, we never had avocados in New York, Josh.
And I'm like, sure we did.
You just didn't have any Puerto Rican friends, mom.
Like, what are you talking about?
Like, you just, like, weren't open to other cultures, beautiful food.
But, like, and then we moved to L.A.
And she was like, wow, this, this guacamole is really popular.
I'm like, it's been done, been popular, ma.
Big avocado's been here.
Yeah, dog.
It has had healthy bat since inception.
At least that's what they tell us.
Like, I don't know about avocado.
I'm just, I eat it.
I just, I don't know, man.
I don't know.
Anytime anything is too popular, there's something up with it.
Something up with it.
I've been eating, speaking of not popular, I've been trying to get into kimchi.
Delicious.
You're a kimchi eater.
Oh, so good.
You like it.
Okay.
So I first started, I tried this bag of kimchi.
My biggest mistake was it was from a company called Cleveland Kimchi.
You're out of your mind.
You are sick.
Nobody wants Cleveland kimchi.
Oh, my God.
Okay.
That's nuts.
That's intense.
That's like Detroit ramen.
It's just not it.
Cleveland kimchi.
I'm sorry.
I didn't enjoy it.
It was like there were like 2,000 cloves of garlic shoved into my chest at once.
I needed like 200 tons after one taste of the Cleveland spicy kimchi.
Oh my God.
I tried a new kimchi today.
A recommendation from my Japanese grocer.
I can't pronounce the name.
I'm not even going to try.
It was good.
It was good.
good, but everybody says, Josh, it's so healthy for you.
It is.
Tell us why it's so healthy.
I know you know.
It's fermented, right?
So I do know so many things.
So I think the old school ways that it would, first of all, you're going to Cleveland and you're going to Japanese markets for Korean food.
That's your first one.
I heard.
I heard what are you the cops?
Secondly, I think initially what they would put it in these pots and bury it underground,
probably in Seoul.
And then they would age it over months and months and months,
but fermented foods in general, good for the gut biome, good probiotics.
And it has that kind of that, I'm going to forgive me because I'm going to mispronance it,
but gojuja, which is like a Korean, like a red pepper paste, so good.
Yes.
Korean food's the best.
Yes.
So I enjoyed it.
What is the difference from a health perspective between kimchi and sauerkraut?
probably the level of fermentation, the length of fermentation.
And the fermentation is what goes into our gut and cleans it up.
It's like a maid service for the gut.
It's good stuff.
Yeah.
Okay.
All right.
So I'll keep eating the kimchi.
Low calories.
Good thing to grab.
I'm kind of treating it like a pickle.
When you're in the mood for something lightly acidic, just grab a bag of kimchi.
Have you ever gone out to like a really good, like with like a Korean restaurant
or Korean barbecue with Bonchan?
No, the only Korean restaurant that I've been to is coat is the Korean barbecue place that we went to together.
That's delicious.
Which is delicious, which is delicious.
But I don't remember.
Actually, no, they serve kimchi with the rice that comes with the meats.
That's called bonchan.
So it's like with Korean barbecue, it comes with all those beautiful little side plates and whatnot.
And Dikon and radish and all these different things, bean curds.
but there's like a proper street of like of like a mini Korea town in New York.
You don't have it like L.A. has probably the biggest Korea town in the world.
But I feel like you could go.
Coates was awesome, but it was like, you know, sort of like slightly Americanized, which is for sure.
You know, I love a cheesecake factory.
So obviously I love America.
But like I'm just saying you got a, you've got many good options.
Yeah.
No, the next time you're here, we'll get into it.
We'll go, we'll go kimchi shopping.
kimchi shopping. Do you have your Woody and Nuts moment of the week?
I do. I do. I'm just trying to think of which one I want.
All right. It's it's U.S. Open. I have two from the U.S. Open. The first is, I'm sorry,
when did ball boys, when did it become acceptable for ball boys to be over the age of 12?
Okay. There are 45-year-old ball boys and they have to run, they have to run so fast.
You've seen them. The balls are dropped. They sprint across the court. I thought he was going to tear his meniscus.
Like these aren't young, nimble gumbies.
That's my first Woodya Nuts.
My second Woody a Nuts is these grown men and women are calling all of these tennis players by nicknames.
We saw this guy Francis Tiafo.
Yeah.
The guy next to me is like, let's go foe.
Come on, foe, you can do it.
Let's go, foe.
And it's like, he doesn't know you.
You can't call him foe.
Right.
What are you nuts?
Like, I hate this.
I hate when people call people by Nicky and stuff.
that are reserved for their friends.
And my wife does this all the time, all the time.
She will call somebody by their nickname when they are not friends.
And it's just like, you can't call him MJ.
You don't know him.
You don't know him.
Like it just, it drives me insane.
What are you nuts?
I love that.
I love that.
My what are you nuts for the week is I was at Target the other day with my kids.
And it's packed.
Big lines, huge lines, self-checkout closed for whatever reason.
So I look over.
There's a woman there.
She's dealing with someone checking them out.
I go up.
Now, granted, I get there, and I stand there.
And I'm there.
One, two, three minutes.
And the woman finally looks at me and goes, I'm closed.
I go.
Then what are you doing here?
Then leave.
don't be behind this thing.
And granted her light was off.
The light was off.
But it's like, dude, come on.
And then, and then I went to another line,
waited for another five minutes.
Suddenly, she's not close.
She's open.
All of a sudden.
And I'm like, of course you're open.
There's too many people in these two lines here.
Like, you got to open up a couple more.
You're already there.
Just do it.
When someone goes, you know what?
I'm close.
but come on through.
You got three items.
This is customer service.
This is what I like.
And you know me.
I'm the biggest.
Try and catch me say a bad word about Target.
You never will.
It's one of the greatest places ever.
But I think this lady was not having the best day.
What are you nuts?
Let's spend at least 25 minutes talking about self-checkout.
Because I'm sorry.
I just want to do it now.
We could save it for next episode, though.
Let's start the first 25 minutes of the next episode.
We're only talking about self-checkout because this is the downfall of America.
Put it in the bank.
Self-checkout is the downfall of America.
But folks, until next time, we'll leave you on that cliffhanger.
We'll leave you on that cliffhanger.
Monday, we have Dr. Diamond.
He is fantastic.
You guys are going to love him.
And we asked all the questions that you'd ask of a celebrity plastic surgeon.
Oh, is it juicy?
You're going to love it.
But folks, this episode,
