The following podcast is a dear media production.
Two Jews, both big and tall, no subject, too small for the good guys.
A mother's dream, premium podcast team, make it your weekly routine, it's a good guys.
And if you don't give us five stars, what are you nuts?
What are you nuts?
Yeah, we're the good guys.
We're not the great guys.
We're just so good a good guy.
Mazzle morons, welcome back to the Good Guys podcast.
Josh, do you know that in the state of Florida, most of the toads are poisonous?
And if your dog licks them, they simply pass away.
No.
That is, yes.
Lord has got poisonous toads on top of it all?
Apparently, it is the place of these bull hog, something.
These are big ass toads.
and one single lick of that beautiful green skin.
They start foaming at the mouth and they die.
Okay, well, you know what?
Listen, listen, here's the truth.
We can check this.
Okay.
It's chat.
Check it.
Chat.
Is it true that Toads in Florida,
the majority of them are not only poisonous,
but one little licky poo from a dog,
and they go, ah.
Let's see.
Yeah.
You're shocked, aren't you?
Yeah.
You know what I'm not shocked about, Ben?
Is that, Josh, the Florida Toad situation is legitimately terrifying for dogs,
but the idea that most Florida Toads are deadly from one leg is an exaggeration.
You're an exaggerating ass bitch.
By the way, did he write, did he use the word fuck?
Because I know he likes to do that, you're guy.
What's up, Josh?
The fuck is up.
I'm not shocked at your boy as a fucking liar.
I mean, Sam Altman literally told his team.
He's like, all right, for chat GPT7, let's just put in bitch, fuck, and nah, I mean.
Boy, oh, boy.
Well, Josh, it's some of the toads.
They're deadly.
And I looked it up.
I was like, is there?
Is there a vaccine?
You know, I don't know if you have this in L.A.
for our New York dogs, we have to vaccinate them against rat piss.
Because also, if they were to lick rat piss, they die.
But they get a vaccine at birth.
What, there's no, I looked up, there's no toad vaccine.
A shunda.
You don't seem to be as worried about this as May.
I'm not, but.
It's almost as if it doesn't affect your life at all.
I think it would be ill.
You don't have a dog, you don't have Florida, and you don't have toads.
What do you guys have there?
We have a wheelie.
Let's see, what do we have?
Anorexia.
Yeah, oh, God, I wish.
I wish I had a little touch of.
You know, here's the thing, right?
In New York, it's like there's a lot of gangs, okay?
Right?
And I just, I can't believe that there's no gang in Florida called the Florida Toads.
I mean, if they're so poisonous, that would be like legit, right?
Like, oh, like, don't mess with the cobras.
Like, don't mess with the toads.
I love it.
You want to start the Florida Toads?
Yeah, we should be a bike gang, but like BMX, not motorcycles.
I'm afraid.
I've always, no, those guys, it's funny, those guys are scarier to me than the ones on
Harleys.
The Harley guys, no problem.
I know they're an institution.
When you have those like little BMX bikes and you're doing wheelies up First Avenue,
I know somebody's fucked.
No, no, no.
I don't like those at all.
You know, in LA we have mini bike gangs.
And so you think, oh, the circus is in town, but it's not.
It's just a bunch of hooligans.
These little mini motorcycles, like these little mini kawasakis.
Man.
It's just scary.
I don't want no smoke.
It sounds like chat.
I don't want no smoke.
I don't want no smoke, dog.
And like, I hit up chat.
He's like, what's the dillio, Josh?
I can't call it.
Josh, where you been?
I haven't heard from you in a minute.
Where you've been at, family?
I'm just chilling.
How are you, chat?
I'm just easing and brazen.
Chat by Snoop Dogg.
Speaking of, did you watch, speaking to Snoop,
did you watch the VMAs?
It's so funny.
I watch everything, but I guess Claudia didn't have to watch that.
So no, I didn't.
dad gave me a full play-by-play. He said Taylor Swift was fantastic. Did Snoop perform? I don't know.
I don't know. Oh, so you didn't watch either. I watch a bit. It just seemed, look, I don't know how to say
this because she is a queen and I don't want to sound disrespectful. Madonna seems exhausted. And I don't blame her.
It's funny. According to my dad, my, oh, sorry, you cut out. I hear you know. Oh, okay, go for it.
So according to your dad. Go, go, go, go. Continue. Madonna's exhausted. Yeah, she just seems
exhausted.
Yeah.
My dad did call me and say that she's never looked better.
He said, Ben, this Madonna, she had some good work done.
He said this was prima work.
He said she's never looked better.
True or false?
Look, I think if you're Bruce, it's all contextual, right?
Like, Benjamin, Benjamin, I'm feeling like a virgin.
Touched for the very first time.
When I saw Madonna, oh, mama.
I could not get enough.
Oh, Madonna.
You know, she's from New York, Benjamin.
She's a New York girl.
He specifically said, oh, she had good work done.
Benjamin, I think she got a deep plane.
She got the one that Chris Jenna got.
No smas.
She didn't get a smaz face left.
No way. Not that my Ava could ever need a facelift, but I'm just saying she looks wonderful.
So good.
Oh man
Yeah she seemed exhausted
The whole enterprise
You know
I don't know
I think it's such a relic of our
I think as we saw it created
Right like or at least my generation
Like because I'm older
But it was
You know it really was the coolest thing ever
And then I think the VMAs in general
Have seemed like such an afterthought
Over the last decade
Like remember the video music awards
Where it was like
People or I'm sorry
Remember the movie
the awards when like best kiss and then they would come on stage and accept the award and
they would kiss again as if that was appropriate?
Yes.
There are now just too many of them.
That's it.
There's too many of them.
People know that it's only for advertisers now.
It's like I get, we get it.
Okay.
Like it's no longer for the love of the game.
Even though maybe they weren't originally, they were also for advertisers.
Maybe we just weren't as hip to it, you know?
Now when I watch these, I'm just like, oh, they're making so much.
fucking money, that's why they keep doing this.
Oh, you're in your whatever year on the 100th award show.
You're doing this because you're making money.
Or Taylor Swift is there to promote an album.
Or it's just so transactional.
It's not like, I don't know, I feel like the curtain has been pulled.
And so now if it's not really good, it's just really bad, you know?
I think the hardest part to deal with is I don't think for the major awards of Grammy,
a Tony and Oscar and Emmy, this is not true.
but I would say allegedly, so I've heard, any other award show, it's completely rigged.
It's not, the voting process is who can we get to come?
And if they'll come, we'll give them an award.
That makes sense.
And 10%.
That makes sense.
So.
And it stinks, but it also, it really does make sense.
Taylor Swift is going to fly there to lose.
A hundred percent.
Like, you'd be like, you'd be like.
lucky to get her. You should have to pay her like a million dollars just to come. She's coming to your
award show for free. You're not going to give her an award? You're going to let, you're going to have
Taylor Swift get a consolation tote? No. Taylor Swift? No. By the way, did you see any of the,
this is, this is a really hard topic for me to talk. Okay. Did you see any of the Jalen Brunson
hosting SNL this weekend? I saw,
I saw his monologue where OG and a cat were there kind of interacting with him during the monologue.
I saw that, but I didn't see much of anything else.
I really also only saw the monologue, and everybody knows, Jalen Brunson, this is my guy.
Of course.
I love him.
The best.
I think that there's just a reason why athletes don't host SNL.
I just like, I just, I thought the monologue.
was terrible.
Really?
It's like, don't you have writers?
Aren't people writing this for you?
And I know a lot of it is also about timing,
which is very, very hard to do,
like waiting for a joke to complete
before you start a new joke.
I'm sure he was super nervous.
But you have the king,
like the undisputed king of New York
on what is supposed to be like
the greatest show in New York.
That's what S&L is.
And I just thought it was really bad.
You know, have you watched the Lauren Michael's documentary on Peacock or on, I think it's coming to Netflix?
No, good.
Worth watching?
Fantastic.
Oh, you would love it.
And they really, they did a brilliant thing.
And I think that's because most people interviewed feel like the show is such a reflection of Lauren, Lauren, who historically has been pretty close-mouthed about any, doesn't really like talking about his personal life, the process.
he's, you know, even the way he's documented throughout the last 50 years has been kind of the guy in the suit behind the scenes.
Is it Lauren or Lorne?
Lorne?
Lorne?
Lorne or Lorne?
Forlorned?
Right?
Is it Lorne?
It's not a man's name, that's for sure.
It's a strange name.
Lorne, right?
Like Thorne?
Lorne.
Yeah, where does that come of?
Lorne.
It's Lorne, right?
He's a Jew from Toronto.
You know, I don't know how they roll up there.
Howie Mandel and him.
I mean, come on.
It's not Lauren.
Such a sports.
He's again, to your point, he's not a lady.
It's Lorne.
Lorne, not Lauren.
But then there's men.
There's men named Stacy.
That's rough.
There's a man named Nancy.
You know a man named Stacy?
Yeah, that's Stacy Keach.
Isn't there like an actor?
Pretty sure.
Stacy.
I guess Stacy's.
Stacey couldch might be a woman,
but there's a
Hold on
male actors
named
Nancy
Do you look at any male actors
named Rachel
or
Diane
What's up?
My name is
Diane Wilkinson
I'm number 23
for your USC Trojans
Yes
Stacey Keats is a man
Okay
Hell yeah
male actors
name
men
named Nancy.
Let's see.
This is a fun tangent.
I agree.
So stupid.
And you have to exclude people that were formerly women.
Because you can be Nancy.
You can keep...
Why don't more people keep their names, Josh?
Are we talking about people or Jews?
Oh, well, that's interesting.
I was talking about people that are transitioning from one sex to the other.
Oh, yeah.
But I guess they want to be a new person.
That's why they change their names.
I like when it's a little nod to their first name.
I like that when it's like a feminized, like to go from Daniel to Danielle.
What would you, you, okay, you're transitioning to be a woman.
You want to nod to Josh.
Are you Jen?
You know, I've never thought about it, Exotica.
No, I think.
I think.
I think, well.
Who would I want my name to be?
What a fun new beginning.
Gosh.
Right?
Yeah.
You're becoming a woman.
What should I call you?
Like, do I go super, like, do I go like, super roots?
So I go Rivka.
Do I go.
Chaya, Gavora.
Maybe you go Barb Jr.
What about the junior?
That could be hot.
That could be hot.
Yeah.
And for short, we call you BJ.
You're BJ.
Bege.
Bege.
I'm the beach.
I'm the Barb Jr.
Yes.
And if I was royalty, I'd be the BJ queen.
Um, what, uh, what would you go from Ben?
Um, Benita.
That's tough.
It depends.
Like, am I, Ben, Ben, Ben, da.
Am I sexy?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You're a BBW.
I'm sexy.
I'm sexy.
I'm sexy.
You're, maybe instead of Brenda, it's Benda.
It's Benda.
You can't be, there's not one sexy Brenda in the whole world.
None.
Oh, I've known.
None.
Who?
I mean, I'm not going to name them here.
They're civilians.
By the way, I said who.
Their name is Brenda, obviously.
I would go, because I'd want to keep the B.
I think I'm Brittany.
That's hot.
Maybe it's an ode to some of your favorite people.
So instead of Jay Lynn,
your Jaila.
Jaila's hot.
I could.
Jaila's daffer.
Jaila's actually
kind of a nice name.
Isn't it?
Jaila.
And it has a little bit of Yiddish strike Jaila.
Jaila.
Yeah.
I like it.
Okay, I'm Jailer.
I love it.
Okay.
Jaila and Barb Jr.
I love it.
And I'm getting huge tits.
Okay.
What else are we?
Yeah.
I think, anyway, the Lauren documentary, the thing you learn, you see the process of them
every step of the way for the week it takes to make, you know, a Saturday Night Live
episode.
And you kind of realize that they couldn't do it any other way.
But because you can't do it any other way, it's a, it's unbelievable that it's ever good.
You know, like the couple times a year that it has those viral moments where you're like,
wow, that was great.
where maybe you get one or two sketches a month that are like,
this was great.
It's just,
they don't have enough time.
Sure.
That makes sense.
There is no time.
There's no time.
There's no time.
And wouldn't you think,
but then it all comes back to the money, right?
Like,
why wouldn't you just put on a better show once a month?
Like,
and maybe the advertisers would just get on board.
Charge four times the amount,
because there is four times less inventory
because the only reason they do it so frequently
is because it is a cash cow.
Otherwise, why would you do it?
Is it a cash cow?
I mean, it's like, how many episodes a year do they do?
20?
It's kind of, I'm just thinking about it in relation to like a podcast, right?
Like you do two episodes a week,
or we do two episodes a week.
But if our one episode did double the downloads,
maybe we'd just do one.
Sure.
Or I guess maybe we would start to,
think, then we could get double again.
And your greed starts coming in.
I think the whole idea was the ability in which to be topical every week.
And then if you're preparing, you know, if you're writing jokes and sketches January 1st
for an episode that'll air January 31st, like everything has changed, you know,
especially in this day and age by the time you get to the air date.
Did you see that Michael, did you see any of the, like, there was one great Michael Cheape.
he was talking about McElmore
and his new free Palestine tour
and he's like, heaven the Palestinians
been through enough.
Oh, man.
It made me laugh.
That's so good.
He's amazing.
He's so damn tough.
I love, you know.
And they're like, yeah.
No, go, Ben, sorry.
I was just going to say,
their ability to consistently be funny on weekend update with short turnarounds and be so topical.
They're always funny.
Because we've seen that like, because it's like late night, right, where they're writing monologue jokes.
And it's perfectly constructed to that.
I think sketches are like really, really hard, like almost impossible.
They're almost impossible unless you have like that genius.
that just is so funny without it being written.
Like, you don't even need,
like we just did that Wild Men episode.
And Brendan's dad did Mrs. Dalfire.
And we were talking about Robin Williams.
And like Robin, you put him into a sketch.
Okay, you wrote for him,
but he's going to do whatever the hell he wants to do.
And it's going to be funny.
And I feel like when you look at like all of like the S&L grades,
I have to assume that that's just what was happening.
Like a Chris Farley is.
It's just, I'm sure there's a script, but he's just so talented and so funny that he went
beyond it, right?
Like, if you stick to these scripts and you're writing them week after week after week,
yeah, they're going to be stale because it's hard to write funny all the time.
I was thinking about, like, you know, the biggest comedians in the world and friends of the show,
you know, Sebastian Manascalco had a movie with De Niro, Nate Bargatsy, just had a movie,
Theo Vaughn and David Spade had a movie.
movie, like all these guys, big comedians have had movies that I'm not sure quite connected with
the audience, but there's no question how talented and funny they are and that they can sell out
MSG for nights on end and are worth hundreds of millions of dollars, right?
But I don't know if it quite translates.
And if you think about who has been a stand-up that has been able to become a movie star,
how rare it is.
And it's two people.
It's Eddie Murphy and Adam Sandler.
Like, who else?
Like, Chris Farley was a movie star, but he didn't do stand-up.
I guess Spade did stand up and at the time of Tommy Boy in these kind of movies and Joe Dirt.
Like, Spade did it for a minute.
But it's like, it's freaking Kevin James, I guess, like Paul Blart.
Like, they're good at, like, I think funny people, comedians are great at TV.
But there is something about a 90-minute movie where you need this star power.
that people like Eddie had that Adam has that is so rare.
Yeah, and it's, and it's funny, the, Eddie Murphy aside,
I think just commenting on Sandler, his funniest movies are not regarded as funny.
Like, if you look at like his top movies, they're not even, they're not even as good movies,
which is just so funny to me.
And it's like, what does the, what do the critics or what does the audience see that
Spanglish is on a list and the Happy Gilmore isn't?
Like, what are we even talking about?
And I'm not saying Spanglish wasn't a good movie.
It's just, what are we even talking about?
Like, right?
Yeah, I mean, in the long legacy of movies,
I think that Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison, you know,
withstand the test of time for sure.
Yeah.
But, like, uncut jams is unbelievable.
You know, him in Punch Drunk Love is unbelievable.
And they're made by these autores.
So I guess it doesn't.
get the same kind of revelry or credit.
I think that critics just love when, first of all, they hate comedy, always hate comedy,
but they love when a comedian becomes serious.
Like, I can't remember exactly, like, Steve Carell, didn't he win for something serious?
I don't know, but he's done a lot of serious stuff.
Yeah, and I feel like he only really got the recognition in the serious stuff.
And it's like, the office, hello?
Or Jim Carrey and Eternal Sunshine.
I guess he's another one who started on with stand up and became like a crazy movie star.
I don't know if if Robin did stand up before like Morke and Mindy and all that.
I guess so.
Yeah.
Okay.
So there's more than those.
But it's rare.
It's rare.
It's rare.
It's rare.
It's, you know, less than 10.
Yeah.
No, it's very rare.
I just think it, you know, it's funny that the writer for creator of the last of us, Craig Mason,
who I talked about.
getting to work with him.
He's incredibly talented,
and he got his start doing the scary movies.
And he directed Drake and superhero movie
and all these spoof films.
And people were like,
wow, like to go from that to this incredible show
that's like one of the number one shows
of the last, you know, decade.
And he's like much easier.
They're like, what?
They're like, he's like comedy's hard.
He's like writing a drama
that has sort of a clear path.
Yeah, way easier.
And I was like,
I also on the plane this week watched the new scary movie, and it's just, it's not great.
And I wanted it to be, because I love those movies.
And Anna Farras is so funny, but I was like, oh, man, we waited, you know, 10 years for this.
It just wasn't, it wasn't good.
How many scary movies are we at now?
I don't know, six, seven.
It's too many scary movies.
I mean, I will say that Marlon, not Marlin, Sean Wayne's does this bit where, you know,
his character is sort of like this very effeminate gay man.
And he does a spoof of that famous clip of the guy who goes into church and starts screaming,
I ain't gay no more, which is a famous meme clip.
He does a spoof of that that was, I was, I'm like cackling in my seat on Delta.
I was like, this is so funny.
But, you know, that was probably the, yeah, there weren't many hysterical moments.
Speaking of somebody who was on the podcast and came out with something very funny recently,
have you seen Adam Ray's show?
Where he plays the different characters where he's like going to be in Stamos?
I watched the episode with him and Stamos where he's a woman and it was really funny.
Yeah, he's really funny.
He's really talented.
But like watching that, I was like, oh, I get it.
And it was really funny.
He was hysterical.
If only he had incorporated you more when he was on the podcast.
What can we do?
Listen, these people need to learn, you know?
It's fine.
You know, you can't be good at everything.
We just said these comedians are good at TV.
They're bad at movies.
He can't be good of dressing up as a woman on Netflix
and then all of a sudden also be a good podcast.
Are the only people who have range like that are us.
Yes, I know.
That's it.
That's it.
Oh, you think I don't know.
I know.
That's it.
Josh.
Not everybody can have that range.
So it is what it is.
This episode of The Good Guys podcast is brought to you.
by our friends at IM8, folks. You know I love supplements. I go into my cabinet. There's 900 of them.
I don't know what any of them do. I literally bought turmeric. I didn't know that it needs to be
activated by black pepper. So I'm just here having turmeric. It's like, it's like a spice.
Like it doesn't help inflammation. It doesn't do anything. I am the type of person that needs this
dumb down and let me tell you. Not only does IM8, dumb it down, but it's the way to simplify your
supplement routine once and for all. 16 supplements replaced 90 ingredients across nine
major organ systems in just one drink. The problem with supplements is you think you need,
oh, I'm talking to myself, a cabinet full of them to feel your best, but you don't. IMAID's daily
ultimate essentials has 16 supplements in one drink for just $2.61 a day. Co-founded by David
Beckham. I mean, are you kidding me? What a tall glass of water. And built by leading doctors and
researchers IMA. It was designed by the world's best.
95% of people who tried it for 12 weeks felt more energy.
And that's from a clinical trial conducted by the San Francisco Research Institute.
Folks, it simplified my supplement routine.
I have this sustained energy throughout the day.
It's absolutely fantastic.
And if you want to try it for yourself, go to IM8, the number eight, health.com slash good guys.

at Roe. Folks, you know we love Roe here at the Good Guys podcast because we love GLP ones.
But truthfully, I've been on GLPs, I guess, for almost four years now, and I can tell you, there's before row and there's after row.
Before row.
Oh, my God.
Where the hell do I get these drugs?
Who's going to prescribe them to me?
Are they going to be covered by insurance?
When is it going to come in the mail?
Is it time for me to refill my prescription?
Is it?
I can't even tell you how complicated it was.
I'm literally thinking back.
It was so stressful.
I would come.
There's four shots, right?
one a week over four weeks.
I would finish my fourth and I'd be thinking to myself,
is my new dose going to come in time for me not to miss out on it?
And Roe has simplified that entire process.
It is literally the best customer service, bar none.
You're worried if they're going to cover you,
if insurance is going to cover you,
you're going to use their insurance checker at row.com.
You are worried about them sending you refills.
They're going to remind you when it's,
time for that to happen. When they send it to you, it comes in discrete packaging. They make this
process easy. If you're not covered my insurance, they have the lowest affordable options, period.
And these are all your brand name drugs. You are thinking about a specific brand name.
You've done research. You think it's right for you. They have it. This isn't back of the house,
random voodoo. This is real stuff. This is the real stuff. The real brand names that you know.
And folks, my wife and I were both on GLP-1s and doing it together.
It makes it so much easier.
It makes it so much easier when you're together doing it with your partner.
We've been on it, again, for the better part of the last four years together.
And doing it together made the journey significantly easier.
And again, I don't know if you need it.
I don't know if your partner needs it.
I don't know if you both need it.
But what I can tell you is that before Roe, it was much harder than it is now.
and Roe has helped me hit my goals.

Speaking of,
of TV stars,
you know,
my show.
Yes,
sweet deceit.
What did you first call it?
Sweet motherfucking deceit.
Sweet for the feet.
No,
what did you first?
Wait,
someone wrote it on,
sweet deficit?
No.
You wrote it,
sweet to eat.
You're like,
I can't wait for Josh's show.
Sweet to eat.
I love it.
Also a great name.
I love when I see glimpses of you as an old Jew.
Tell me again.
I mean, my mom, God bless Barb, I've literally, she goes, I'm so excited for your show.
Tell me the name.
And I go, sweet deceive mom, I told you 20 times.
She's like, I'll never remember.
Cannot wait.
No, I got it.
Sweet deceit.
Well, it airs Monday, October 5th at 10 p.m.
Food Network.
And boy, we haven't really talked about the show.
I mean, I know I've announced it, but it's-
Tell me, tell us about the show.
Walk us through.
What are you doing?
Who are you talking to?
And what is so deceitful?
This is a competition show.
And they looked at all of social mead.
They looked at all of the talent out there.
They said, who could host a show like this that is real a bait-and-switch concept?
That really, someone might say, hey, you having a good day?
How about?
They said, Josh Beck is uniquely qualified.
Basically, the concept is we have the greatest hyper-realistic pastry artists,
bakers in the world who make these cake sweets that look incredible.
And we bring in each episode, the first eight episodes are all Halloween themed.
The next date are going to be all Christmas themed.
And we bring in like these people who work at an escape room.
And we go into an escape room for the first episode and we go,
here is a haunted hotel.
Here is a weird haunted dungeon.
Here are five items.
One of them is cake.
You've got 90 seconds.
Figure it out.
But here's the rub.
Here's the rub.
Then once they pick the item, the only way to find out is to take a bite.
That's right.
You got to take a bite.
So maybe you're biting into cake.
Maybe you're biting into a key.
Maybe you're biting into plastic, something weird and random.
That's right.
And I get to say lines like this, Ben, your mouth is on the line.
Wow.
I love it.
It's super fun.
You can play with the whole family.
Disregard what I just said that line.
Other than that, it's really a family show.
I swear to God.
It's so fun.
Amazing.
And was there a prize at the end?
12K, heard of it?
I love that.
Love a cash prize.
What's great is it's like obviously there are elements of it that are reminiscent of like is a cake or whatever.
But you know, what we're doing is sort of compiling all those moments over an hour episode into like a 22 minute hard hitting.
There's four rounds.
So you really get to play with your family, whoever you're watching and try to figure out like what's the item.
What is it?
What do you think?
What do you think?
And then you're surprised.
And you're doing that four times in a half hour episode.
So it really, you know, holds your attention.
It's great.
You care about the contestants.
You love the bakers.
We show you how the things are made.
And I just had a ball.
I think it's going to be great.
And I can't wait for people to see it.
Oh, so that's cool.
So we see the audience sees beforehand what is real and what is not.
And we see how it was created.
And then the contestants go in.
And we see them picking the thing that we know is definitely.
not cake and we're like, no, no, no, but then they do it and they put their mouth on the key.
We don't learn until after, so you can play at home.
Okay, no, that's much smarter.
We don't give it away.
We don't give it away early.
Yeah.
We don't give it away early.
Yes, okay, otherwise you'd turn it off.
You're like, I know which one is cake.
Like, what the fuck am I doing here?
Yeah, you're like, that makes a lot more sense.
Jim, you're, you're biting in the dirt, idiot, you know?
It would just be funny.
You're like watching them make the wrong move, just screaming, you're an idiot.
That's the crazy.
Maybe that's season two.
I like that.
And it's also, it's just crazy how much once you're, like before each episode, the producers
would take me around to each zone and they would let me play.
And I was about, and mind you, I'm doing this now like for 16 episodes in a row.
Maybe my ratio at best got to 50-50, where half the time I would get it.
And, you know, I'm not, they're not that.
far away. They're 10 feet away sometimes, but it's really hard to tell. And the best part is I would
take pictures of all the items and then I would bring it home at the end of the night and let my kids
and page play. And they would even zoom in on my phone. So they're cheating, basically. And even they
mostly wouldn't get it right. These bakers are insane. Fondent. How much fondant was used?
Do you think, Ben, you could be, obviously you're going to be a guest host in season two. But could
you be one of the bakers?
No.
You couldn't?
I could bake the thing, but I don't have that artistic ability like they do.
Like the fondant, like these are artists.
Like you're, you can be a great baker and you can be a great baker and an artist.
And these people, the way that they freaking turn a piece of cake into a steak, I've seen it on Instagram.
I know what you're talking about.
Is it a rabbi?
Or is it?
Cake. It's like, how did you do that? How'd you make it look medium rare?
Yeah. You opened it and you can see literally the grain in cake. Wow. Sweet deceit. I love it.
I love it. But we get to Ben's, we get to Ben's round and he goes, instead of cake, I made him a Moroccan salmon.
I made derma.
Hello, contestants.
I made a sand clock made of chopped liver.
Is it a kite or is it cuckle?
You see this ancient artifact?
It's hollava.
That's it.
That's so funny.
Sweet deceit Passover edition.
Oh, man.
Well, look, let's talk about it very briefly because I want to obviously be respectful and
not go too much into detail.
But you and your beautiful wife, your beautiful family, you know, the world is a buzz
with the gorgeous second saffer coming soon to a world near you.
Mazel, Baruch Hashem, so happy for you and your beautiful growing family.
How are you feeling?
I'm feeling amazing, neurotic, as always.
Sure.
I'm a BH, BH, BH.
This is the time where you just like, I can't say anything.
It's like I'm, my wife is pregnant.
B.H.
I just say, Baruch Hashem.
Praise God.
I don't know.
I'm just excited, nervous, all the feels.
But it's so nice that people know.
It's so nice that people know because it's something that you in particular understand.
Josh literally, I don't know, two months ago, he called it.
He's like, Claudia's pregnant.
And I didn't say anything.
I was like, I don't know what you're talking about.
He called it and he didn't push it at all.
not for one more second.
I have friends that let me tell you the whole summer,
we're like, hey, let's double date.
Me, my wife, you and Claudia, I'm like, it's not going to happen.
He's like, what do you mean it's not going to happen?
I'm like, it's not going to happen.
I couldn't have been clear.
I can't tell you that she's pregnant,
but obviously I'm not like a rude dickhead.
If I'm telling you that Claudia isn't available for dinner,
just fucking put two and two together, you fat idiot.
Like, don't make me be the bad guy here.
Why are you doing this?
Like, this particular person asks me three separate times.
And they're like, did we do something wrong?
I'm like, you have three kids?
How don't you see it?
Right.
Like, how?
So, yeah, not like being over that hump is so nice.
Yes.
And I just like, I can't, I can't wait.
Like, Ruby's the joy of my life being able to, for him to have.
a sibling is the it's going to be unbelievable i i can't i can't wait and so many cousins it's just
it's just awesome so does ruby does ruby have any concept of it yet no no no he's not not yet
not yet i've told him but no no not yet and what is he what is he does he gotta go like a good
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's what he, yeah, exactly.
Sorry, right.
Yeah, he says yeah, yeah, yeah.
Nice.
Yeah, yeah, he's so cute.
So, I love Meyer has always yelled out for Max, his older brother, but he always goes,
mah, because he always hears his page and I going, Max, like, come downstairs.
We're like, come on, we got to go to school.
So he would always go, ma, ma, ma.
And now at almost at 15 months he's added the end to it.
So I go like, I'll go, Meyer, say Max.
And I go, Max, Max.
He's added the S.
And it's so, Max.
So cute.
It's so cute.
But, but, you know, as, as, you know, Claude gets closer,
he certainly might by that time have like a little bit more concept.
You might.
I know.
It's crazy to watch them grow every month.
It's just like, and you forget how, until you really think about it, you forget the leaps and bounds that happen in a month.
But it's really, it's crazy.
And watching my nieces and nephews, like the difference between two and three, three and four, four and five, it's like 10 years.
Like they learn so much, so quickly.
It's so crazy.
Like Ruby now really has like incredible recall.
I'll say, where's Romeo, my dog?
And he'll point there, right at Romeo.
Or like, where's grandma?
There.
Where's dad?
There.
Where's the giraffe?
There.
Like, he knows so much.
And now it's sort of starting to come out what he knows because he's able to articulate
that that thing is there that I'm talking about.
Right.
That horse in the painting is there.
Like, oh, you know that.
We talk about that.
But you know that because you can now tell me about it.
It's just, it's unbelievable.

Do you say certain things, whether it's your mother or your mother-in-law,
like that you know will piss them off?
Like, I love ribbing my mother-in-law, Stacey,
who's the greatest woman, you know, to ever walk this earth.
Her and Barb, of course.
but, you know, she's just amazing and so helpful.
And, you know, so, like, Myers having a little trouble walking, and he's 15 months.
So, you know, it's, and he's, like, super physical and he throws himself up on the couch.
He crawls.
He's always pulling himself up.
But he hasn't quite, like, connected the walking, but yet he's also super long and super skinny.
So he's, like, 99th percentile for height, but super, I mean, like, my dream, my dream measurements.
Wow.
But I think because he's a little bit.
like long it's it's just like harder for him to get it and um so anyway we're we're going to have a
physical therapist come in and kind of just help him to kind of connect the two and uh and we were telling
you know page's mom who's like oh okay good that's good to hear and i look at her and go you know he
he did have the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck you know and she goes shut up
She looks gives me a death stare.
I go, he's a little delayed.
And it's like, I'm talking shit about my own kids, so I'm allowed.
But doing it to a grandparent is like, you see a look on their face.
Like, I will kill you myself.
Do you think, like, do you think that these milestones, like, I, don't you think that he would end up just?
walking or you really think that you need like like how how important is like a PT?
I think that we waited. I think usually kids and there's no harm of course but I'm just just curious.
That's exactly right. I think if there was like if it was a medical intervention then we would wait
till truly we had to you know we had to had to but since it's just someone who's going to help him
you know physically like navigate it a little bit better but not worried at all. I've had
friends whose kids at 18 months, sometimes at two years they wait.
Yeah.
And then they just stand up and walk.
I don't think I walked until two years.
And let me tell you, I still really can't walk.
You have a nice gate.
No, I, by the way, Josh, I don't know if you can tell.
I've worked out four days in a row.
Mazel, how you feeling?
I just have the bug.
I feel amazing.
I have the bug.
Now I need to keep the bug.
I need to harness the bug.
Because sometimes the bug flies out the window and then I don't see him for
another year, but I have the bug.
What do you think changed?
We came down to Florida, and that's sort of what changed.
Like, it's, it's this season, and there's something about this lifestyle that just, I think
it's a little bit more, it's certainly more L.A. than it is New York.
And New York is, you walk a lot, but it's just like such a hassle to go and do any.
I think it's the car.
Yeah.
I think the ability to drive to a gym, not worry about parking, get out and go and do your thing,
makes it much easier than this idea that, am I going to walk?
Am I going to take an Uber?
Am I going to take a train?
How many going to get to the gym?
I'm going to get to the gym.
It's going to get to the gym.
It's going to get to the gym.
It's just, there's just an added layer of difficulty in New York that I feel like doesn't exist
in suburban cities.
I know.
I think.
And the sunshine, but I think that's one of this.
I know exactly what you're saying.
And I'm not just saying this because I work with them, but like when we shot that video at Planet Fitness in Park Slope in Brooklyn, like at the end of July, it was also a brand new planet fitness.
But I think in general, like they're very on top of keeping their gyms clean and nice.
And it was like the first time, because I agree with you, mostly I go to gyms in New York and they feel like run down to a certain extent.
They feel packed.
And this just felt like new and nice.
And like, and I agree with you that even the equinox, Jim, that, that, you know, I used to go to in, in the valley was like, you know, it just, you know, if it was too packed, it just wasn't, I wasn't running there.
You know what I'm saying?
So like, I like to go to ones that are like nice and easy parking.
So I'm sure for you in Florida, you're just like, oh, this is easy, breezy.
And just like, I feel like all of the, or most of the gyms in the city, which makes sense because the price of real estate is so expensive.
I feel like they're often like either in basements or they're in areas where there's no windows, there's no sun.
You're like in a casino.
Right.
And it's like here these are like open concepts.
I don't know.
It's just been very pleasant.
Very pleasant.
So I'm going to plan on keeping it up.
That's hot, babe.
And are you doing your own workouts?
you're getting trained by a little train.
I did a little class.
I forget the name of it, which was like a cycle weights, which was fun.
I did my own thing, which was like 15 minutes of intervaled cardio, followed by like three sets
of something that Matt from the Whiff Method told me to do.
But like I'm not pushing it like crazy.
I'm just going every day.
Hot.
Like these are not the craziest workouts.
These are daily workouts, though.
That's hot.
Which I think that if I keep doing will be great.
I do just because this is our topical episode,
I do want to quickly bring up something topical
because it's all over.
And we do sometimes talk about serious things
and I want to just be on the record here.
Sure.
This Cornell stuff is some of the worst stuff I've ever seen.
I remember hearing the story previously.
But there aren't often,
we'll debate two sides to a story
and we'll say that there are two sides.
there's there's no two sides in rape.
It's one of,
it's one of the worst,
it's one of the worst things.
Like this group chat,
I don't know if you've seen it.
Of like these guys just like writing some of the,
some of the most vile,
like treating this poor,
poor girl like just like like meat.
It made me sick to my stomach enough that I wanted to make sure that we spoke
about it.
And I'm so sorry for her.
And I hope that those guys,
go to prison and it's just it's a horrible story and the way that they were disciplined in the
moment is not right. The standard should not be that. If you rape someone, you should be in prison.
Not only should you be expelled through school, you should be in prison. Like you are,
you are a danger to society. Um, so we didn't need to be more for that. Um, and what,
what kind of intervention is happening now? Because I, um, obviously where the
story, but I don't know the particulars as well as you do.
It's just coming, this group chat is coming to light.
And the group chat was not originally, I think, in evidence.
They didn't see this, to my understanding.
And the group chat is literally like, like, is she still available?
Or like, like, this idea that like there's a guy laying next to a drugged girl in bed
waiting for more guys to come and rape her.
It's like so, like your worst nightmare.
They don't make movies with plots this sick.
Yeah.
And so I think that this in new evidence is taking it from whatever they thought it was
to something completely different.
And I think they're reopening the case and relooking at it as they should.
Oh, the worst.
The worst thing ever.
And she's suing the school.
That's sort of, I mean, that's why this started happening.
She's suing the school.
as she should because they didn't protect her.
So.
Awful.
Awful.
I don't really know how we transitioned, but I wanted to mention that.
Yeah, we don't.
Okay, so is that, by the way, maybe that's just our Woody and Nuts.
Yeah.
That's fucking nuts.
Yeah.
Sometimes nuts is funny.
Sometimes nuts is just nuts.
Yeah.
And this entire situation is what are you nuts.
Totally.
Yeah.
I think it's important that you say it.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
It's nuts.
Folks, this episode is five stars.
