If you've been thinking about starting a podcast, this is your sign. Start free at RSS.com. Hey folks, Matt Major from Growth Mode content. Welcome to Good News, York. We got a full house and we got lots to talk about. As always, I'm joined on my other side.
Starting point is 00:01:08 This is really throwing me off. I know. The not spiky-haired. No. E.B. Going hat today. In fact, I'm going, I'm going to show off my AOL hat. America Online hat. That's cool. That's cool. In what is usually, Mike C, we have the OG. The man. Yeah, I'm back. My former superstar podcast, Co-Hill. We discussed hats on the way in, and I was like, I'm not going to wear a hat. And then you guys had hats. Yeah. I'm glad you did. Phil Farda. Let's go. I've been waiting to do that since the car ride up here. That's what the guns for, isn't it? Well, it's the Phil Farda gun. Yeah. But last but not least, certainly not.
Starting point is 00:01:44 The one who's definitely cranking up the attention. You just leave the camera on Kelly the whole time. Kelly Beers back with us. Kelly. Superstar estetician and all those other big words that I can't say. Yeah. Welcome back. I can't say some of them either.
Starting point is 00:02:02 Redneck. Yes. I mean, she pulls it together. These are the big words that he can't say. So we're going to get into, Phil's got some cool stuff going on. We're going to talk about that. a few minutes, but I just wanted to kind of recap real quick. Yesterday, you guys went to the fair for the, kind of the media day.
Starting point is 00:02:20 Yeah. I was held up with some stuff, but the team went over and took some great pictures and video. Got the butter reveal. Yeah. Anybody who saw yesterday's episode. Can you tell me what the theme was? Because I saw them pull the curtain off. What a butch and it was, I remember like this year.
Starting point is 00:02:37 I'm a press release right here. Oh, my God. I purposely brought it today in case this question came up. Oh, I think it was dairy health. It's dairy for good. Nourish, grow, thrive. It celebrates the joy and nourishment that dairy provides at every stage of life. But it's also inspired by the 125th anniversary of the Wonderful Wizard of Oz,
Starting point is 00:02:56 which is by local author L. Frank Baum. So they incorporated obviously the Wizard of Oz characters, right? It was Dorothy. When they pulled, I wouldn't have to figure out who the... They're not supposed to say the names because of licensing. Sure. We all know what it is. It was Toto.
Starting point is 00:03:12 It was Dorothy. It was the whole thing. So they incorporated, you know, obviously the Wizard of Oz, but the idea was how milk provides nourishment through all stages of your life. Sure does, boy. It sure does. It makes a body good. So I got to say, if you've ever been to the state fair in that dairy building where this thing is housed,
Starting point is 00:03:28 the sculpture is massive. You know, it's probably on a platform a little bigger than this table here. And it's encased in glass, which, of course, you've got to keep it cold because it's butter. And also, you don't want people to touch it, right? for the press day, they let you inside that glass tank. You know, I didn't.
Starting point is 00:03:48 And I wasn't there and I know everything was fine, but afterwards, I'm watching the footage. I'm sweating my ass off. Like, do they know how close to catastrophe we just were? You let this fucking guy within inches of that sculpture? You know,
Starting point is 00:04:00 I didn't think about it until you said something. You know, because everybody was being ushered in and you're allowed to go around. And I took advantage of it. I was really reaching. I was getting close. Dude, I grabbed a.
Starting point is 00:04:10 still that I swear to God if you had moved half an inch, you would have taken out Toto. I got sturdy legs. You know, I don't, you know, I'm low. I asked you a question. Yeah. Nervous for them. Yeah. Could butter Dorothy get it?
Starting point is 00:04:23 Oh, yeah. All right. She was. She was. Milk did about it good. Proportions and everything. Yeah. Yeah. No, she, look, the sculptor, the sculptor knew what he was doing.
Starting point is 00:04:35 Yeah. Right. She had the curbs. It was, uh, look, it was awesome to be a part. of, you know? I didn't, obviously I understand that it's a big deal around here and this and that. But like, it was a press media event. They were handing out press packets. People were trying to get around each. I mean, it was a big deal. And we, we were honored that the New York State Fair and the American Dairy Association had us be a part of it. So I'm really glad you mentioned that
Starting point is 00:05:01 because it kind of brings me to the next thing I wanted to mention. Exactly what you talked about. This is a big press event. This is also an annual thing. Like they've been doing it for, I don't know, 100 years or something. Sure. As long as somebody figured out how they could mold butter into a shape, they've been doing this at this day fair, right?
Starting point is 00:05:16 Yeah. And they've had this big press day reveal the day before the fair every year. But apparently it's controversial. Thank you. That's where I was going next. We got a number of comments on our videos. There's also, even the Syracuse history guy
Starting point is 00:05:30 who I love made some comment about why do they reveal this? Why are you letting it out? I should basically be able to discover it myself. People were mad that this was publicly revealed And they gave away the surprise of what the sculpture was. And I just wrote a little while ago, I was like, imagine being mad that we revealed the butter sculpture
Starting point is 00:05:51 from the butter sculpture reveal event. Yeah, it's literally the point of the event. What's for? I don't know. What's going on? Could somebody just avoid it like a spoiler, right? Couldn't you just not watch the reveal and then just go to the fair? Also, like, it's a sculpture. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:06:08 Like, if you appreciate the sculpture, even if you know what it is, you want to see it in person. But there were also like eight other media outlets there. Why are we getting the shit? No, I think people probably. Oh, they spread the shit around to all, okay. It's good for engagement, right? Oh, 100%. We were loving it.
Starting point is 00:06:26 We were loving it. I just love that, you know, there's literally nothing that Karen will not find issue with. Listen, including, you know. I was going to try to guess what the concern was. I thought it was like maybe. cruelty? Like this is too butter for a cow to... Right. I thought it was going to be an animal cruelty thing.
Starting point is 00:06:43 No. It's just like a... No. You ruined it. I was here on my couch. I was watching, you know, cooking videos or a police body cam videos and I scroll through and there's the butter sculpture summer ruined. If there ever been a butter sculpture disaster?
Starting point is 00:06:56 I don't know. There must somebody knocked into it or it melted or... You know what? I should have asked that. Because it's... If you don't build it, right, I mean, it's maybe could drop heavy or something. That would have been a great question for the sculptor. Like, have you ever been a...
Starting point is 00:07:08 halfway through and then like your wife's like John you're like what and then fucking topples over and you're like oh bitch sculptor right is it like a different artist every year so he's been the artist for I think a few years a few years but I asked him I was like
Starting point is 00:07:24 is there like competition like is there other sculptor and he's like yeah there's a ton of sculptors and so I guess it's like a really coveted like he's got that spot he's holding on to that thing yeah I mean getting the sculpture in the state fair has got to be hopped here Yeah, I mean.
Starting point is 00:07:39 A butter sculptor. You are an A-list butter sculptor at that point. You're making me think of all the questions I didn't ask. Like, how did they get? Well, actually, I do know that they brought the butter in and it comes in just like big boxes and chunks, and then he sculpts it inside. Oh, he makes it right in the thing there.
Starting point is 00:07:55 In the whatever you call that thing. Yeah, big glass refrigerator. I was like Kelly's kids would do that once at the house, dude, yeah. Really? Just sculpt butter on the counter. That's wild. Very expensive. I'm into, yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:07 I'm into weird sculptures. In Las Vegas in the Hershey store, they've got the Statue of Liberty out of chocolate. And it's like six, seven foot tall. Edible? Probably, right? Maybe. Or is it? I mean, it's behind glass, but I would assume so.
Starting point is 00:08:22 I don't know. In Ithaca, they do the ice festival every year where they, all these, on the downtown commons, all these sculptors come in. You can watch with chainsaws. They all sculpt. Oh, yeah. Different ice sculptures. And then what they do is they build a ball.
Starting point is 00:08:37 in the middle of the commons. Okay. And a big throne and bar seats all out of ice. And you can literally, throughout the whatever, you know, this ice festival extends a couple weeks, you can go have drinks on the commons sitting on an ice bar, which is fucking awesome. Sounds cold. Do you pay to enter that? That sounds wicked.
Starting point is 00:08:55 I don't know. That sounds. I don't know. So seasonal. Shout out to downtown Ethica Alliance. Check their website out. Because they do chili fast. They do chowder fast.
Starting point is 00:09:03 They do the ice fast. There's all sorts of fests. I just hosted the 25th. annual Town of Skyler Car and Corn Festival. What? Car and corn? Yeah, it's a car and corn.
Starting point is 00:09:13 Yeah, it's a car show. And then there's a corn eating competition. They just threw two things together as with it. I was going to say, yeah. But I'm like, I wonder if we could sculpt corn, dude, a corn sculpture? Yeah. Definitely.
Starting point is 00:09:25 How do you sculpt corn? Because doesn't it just fall? Well, if you go beyond the ears, you know, you could make something cool with the stalk and the whole, like, I feel like you put something together. You took the corn. with the way even with this the stock you could tape them together in such a way sure yeah big corn giant i uh i have a friend who's into like old you know classic cars and he he went to one car show
Starting point is 00:09:49 with his car and he never went again because he said it is just a like a huge too much corn suck off no not corn cars but just a huge like look at my car oh look at yours that's not as cool as mine and it's just a very did you get that vibe ours is more no we have cars that are They set them up, like, costumes and stuff. They have, like, a car full of skeletons, and it's, like, the Dead Mobile. Oh, cool. That's great. That's great.
Starting point is 00:10:15 It's like a Paw Patrol one. Okay. I thought it was a classic car show. There are classic cars, but it's just you could bring anything, and it's, and then the crowd votes. So they walk through, like, almost museum style, and you put your vote in for your favorite car. It's awesome. You do a rev competition, and they ride them around the park. This is what people in New York City don't.
Starting point is 00:10:37 understand about upstate New York. They don't get this shit. They don't, they don't get to do this stuff. It was a huge event though. Yeah. Yeah, they've got the hot air balloon rides that you can go on, the bounce houses for the kids. That's awesome. Yeah. It was in Pryphage. You know about that? I know about them. I was in that band for four months at one time of my life. Literally. Uh, yeah, they were playing there, I'm sure. Showtime's playing at, uh, where did we just see them? The fair. State fair. Oh, wonderful. Yeah, love those boys. It's a good event. We're do it every year. I've been on six years. Our buddy Joe Buggy, the late, great. Joe Boogie was our mascot.
Starting point is 00:11:09 He was the original horn. When I got, when I became part of the event, I was like, first rule of business, Boogie is going to become a, we don't have a mascot. I'm like, Boogie is the mascot. And then he immediately died. That's very. And then he immediately. Well, it is unfortunate.
Starting point is 00:11:26 But now we honor his memory. Well, why don't you do it properly and honor him with a corn sculpture of Joe Buggy? Oh, my God, dude. I don't know if there's enough corn to be honest. Have you ever seen this? guy, but big dude. A lot of corn. A lot of corn, dude, yeah. There should be like a boogie monument at the festival every year.
Starting point is 00:11:45 I'm telling you, make it. Yeah, yeah. We did one year, we did something. Maybe maybe just I did a shout out. Maybe it was, it was like, you know, in honor of boogie. But then we did last year, it was like two fallen soldiers. There's always something real sad and morbid. Like, yeah. Yeah. We're like, we're there, but we're raising money for a good cause, but then it's always something sad. It's like a kid with cancer or something celebrating. Speaking of boogie, that kind of is a nice segue to talk about
Starting point is 00:12:12 one of your newest ventures. Oh, for sure, man. Which is the Joe Boogie, sort of inspired, right? Joe Boogie, we call it stage time boogie. It's our silent disco party. And it's the first of its kind in this area. We teased it last time I was on.
Starting point is 00:12:29 We were talking about, like, somebody should do a silent disco. Yeah. And then we did it. And there's, we have, A couple events where we did a couple schools. It's popular with kids. We did a kids dance party.
Starting point is 00:12:42 They love it, dude. Kids love it. Parents love it because you don't have to listen to kids. Yeah, it's silent. If you don't know what it is, we've been figuring out a lot of people in this area. They haven't heard of it before. It's just a party where all the music is streamed through headphones. The headphones have different channels you can flip to.
Starting point is 00:12:58 So there's three different channels. I'm going to act it out while you're talking. We control the music, exactly. So let's say you're on the blue channel, right? Have you or a loved one ever suffered from an exploded head due to an extreme energy drink? Hi, this is Larry Deathstein, attorney at law. Every day, thousands of Americans pound extreme energy drinks and literally explode their heads right off. At Deathstein and Partners, we fight for you.
Starting point is 00:13:25 So take action today. It's stopped by the Deathstein and Partners' office, where we only serve liquid deaths, new sparkle and energy. A better for you energy drink. There's nothing extreme about it. With only 100 milligrams of caffeine, that's equal to a cup of coffee. Plus, liquid death energy has got zero sugar. And none of that freaky stuff, like sucralose or aspartame. When it comes to extreme energy justice,
Starting point is 00:13:50 Deathstein and partners will fight to the death. Also, if you're not near our office, you can still try Liquid Death's sparkling energy at fine retailers like... 7-Eleven. Or learn more at LiquidDeaf.com. Where? Quit Death.com. You're listening to a podcast right now, driving, working out, walking the dog.
Starting point is 00:14:11 If you're into podcasts, chances are you have something to say too. With RSS.com, starting your own podcast is free and easy. Upload an episode and we distribute it to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, and more. Track your listeners, see where they're from, and start earning from ads just like this. If you've been thinking about starting a podcast, this is your sign. Start your new podcast for free today at RSS. to the next channel. It's our all request line.
Starting point is 00:14:39 And then the third channel you can flip to that. And that's just like a preacher telling a story. It could be anything. It's not necessarily that. But we can stream whatever we want. We've done two live DJ battles. We've done kids parties. And it's available for private events.
Starting point is 00:14:54 And you can get all that info on our new website, stagetime, ent.com. That's awesome. Stage time entertainment. And our next one we're doing, we're going to do a, actually you guys can help me with this we want to do a decades themed rave so we were going to do a decades party where every channel is like a different decade but then we have the Burstown in the ballroom yeah we want to black light it out okay and then just go rave style but like without your typical rave music just like decades and you can choose through the request line uh we have that event booked in November uh I don't know that's awesome but it's we haven't announced it yet that's really really one month that it's one month that it's time. This is something that anybody who's been down south, you know, we're always sort of late to the party
Starting point is 00:15:40 to some of these things here in central New York. But in different parts of the country, this has been popping off for a while. I was surprised at the number of people that thought I invented it. Yeah. Roll with it, though. That was sort of an issue that I didn't even foresee. I was like, oh, it's silent disco, because they gave it on cruise ships.
Starting point is 00:15:56 Yeah. It's been in larger cities. It's good for any sort of noise ordinance when you want to keep quiet. Yeah. And I thought people just sort of commonly knew what it was, and they don't. The only reason I knew about it was because I was, again, walking through the commons in Ithaca one night, and there's a DJ up on the pavilion in the middle of the commons,
Starting point is 00:16:17 and he's going hard, and I'm like, there's no sound. And then there's all these people doing what I was just doing, dancing like zombies, and I found out it was a silent disco. I'm like, that's such a brilliant idea. If you want to see some footage of it, that you could go to our YouTube page. So just stage time trivia. on YouTube and you'll see some promo that our buddy Aden shot.
Starting point is 00:16:39 Well, I'll tell you what. You know, one of the reasons people might think you invented this is you really went all out from a business perspective and did it the right way. You actually had your own headsets manufactured with your logo baked right on the thing. Yeah, with help. It's legit. I'll tell you, man, if you guys are trying to do anything new, reach out and network with people. Find some friends that have done it before. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:00 Because I was about to make every mistake. Sure. Like I had, the way I had thought it would work, I made, I was going to make every single mistake you possibly could. And I coordinated with my buddy Ryan Buds, Trivy with Buds. And he connected me with a buddy of his who runs it in Alabama, of all places. Okay. And so this guy was so nice. We got on the phone for one hour, dude.
Starting point is 00:17:22 One hour phone call. He walked me through everything I was about to do wrong. Wow. Probably saved me thousands of dollars in the process, how to order the manufacturing, connected me with, his warehouse in China that we ordered from and got everything done. So network for sure. Get help with new stuff. That's awesome.
Starting point is 00:17:40 That's smart, man. And they're beautiful. The quality is nice. The head phone. Yeah. Sounds nice. Full logo on the side. Danny's got a video creeping.
Starting point is 00:17:48 I saw it creeping up. He clicked the wrong thing. Shout out to Dan. Danny Tripodia. This is from our first DJ battle at the Saranek Brewery. Is that the singer from Nickel back up in the corner? Oh, here we are. Oh, there they are right there.
Starting point is 00:18:00 Hey, there's, I know that guy. You got sound, buddy? Silent disco, silent video. It is pretty nice. It's literally silent. It's really silent. Yeah. It's fun to watch people just kind of dancing and, you know, but they're not really making noise.
Starting point is 00:18:17 This guy was, uh, who. Watching Danny navigate eight different things. Yeah, that was really fun to watch. This is why he gets paid the big bucks. That's great. He's going to be DJ in the next one. He is. You shake him off and I'm not paying.
Starting point is 00:18:29 How did you find so many good-looking people? Our Zalachosco headpack, they're really cool, man. So these just flip between stations, and when you do that, it changes color. Whatever's playing here lines up with which DJ's playing. Oh, so the whole thing, like, illuminates. You know what channel they're listening to. That's cool. I didn't even realize that.
Starting point is 00:18:45 We hope you'll come and check out one of our events soon. Great promo video, by the way. Who made that? That's our buddy, Aiden, at Sprout Media. Yeah. Shout out Aiden Sprout Media. That's fantastic. There's a lot of great stuff.
Starting point is 00:18:57 He does a lot of videos for us. But that's a good, just summary of what it is right there. But yeah, so if you're looking into the crowd, you can see 30 people with blue headphones. They're on that channel. That's cool. And my brother, who's running it with me, built a display using OBS. We found cracked OBS. And you'll see what's playing on each station.
Starting point is 00:19:16 What's coming up on the request line? So you could control the whole channel from your phone. But you can see what people are listening to. It helps us to kind of steer the party in the right direction. So if you know, it's like nobody's on green. What's that? Oh, that's like country iron. Nobody's listening to country.
Starting point is 00:19:31 Let's drop that. So we kind of stare at the party in the right direction. That's pretty cool. You know, I saw it. I was out in Vegas and there was this big entertainment place. Almost reminds you of a mall, right? They had a bunch of different venues and things on the sides. But in the middle, they also had a bar and they had different things happening in the middle.
Starting point is 00:19:51 They had a comedy show that was silent comedy. And it was the same thing. Wait, what? But yeah, they had a stage and they had an open area, but everybody got the headsets. Because you're basically, if you think about it, sort of like in the, middle of a ball area. It was just a regular open mic. So was it just like this? But yeah, but you know, they had a lounge and whatever. So it was sort of a designated area, but it was definitely, you know, if you were on a mic, everybody in the world would hear it or not be able to hear it because of the
Starting point is 00:20:17 noise. And it was just a neat concept. Yeah, we're going to roll out some creative concepts like that. So we're going to, I want to do a silent trivia event because what you can do is we can, we can speak to each channel individually. So you could have different colors, get different clues or different questions. We want to do a scavenger hunt. Oh, that's awesome. So, I mean, that's going to take a while to plan out. But you would have the headphones. Different colors would send you to different clues or different areas. And if you had a team of three, like each person would get different information that they'd have to kind of collaborate with and share. That's awesome. And this is something just so folks know, this is the type of thing where you put on events or collaborate with venues or to have events to the public. You can come in and enjoy that if you're an individual. Yeah, I mean, we're like a mobile DJ service. I'm actually, I might need your help because I'm trying to set up my Google business profile right now. The categories that they offer are abysmal. It's over.
Starting point is 00:21:11 There's no entertainment services option. Right. You can either be a DJ or you could be like an adult strip club. There's no in between, do they? That was the crossroads I was at left high school. Don't I want to be a DJ? You imagine that. Because I didn't really want to get.
Starting point is 00:21:29 dumped into all DJ services. Right, right, right. We do offer traditional DJ services, but that's not our main thing. And I could not find, trying to figure out where to land on the business. That's actually, I'm glad you said that. For those that don't know, Phil, which I'd be surprised,
Starting point is 00:21:45 what exactly, what are all the things that you do with stage shop? Because you are like a one-stop shop, dude. Yeah, yeah, we've expanded. So it started just producing comedy shows. That's where we started. My buddy Will Phillips was doing trivia, which got into trivia. and that's been our main.
Starting point is 00:22:00 That's kind of our flagship product. We do trivia nights that are infused with comedy. Sure. And then from there, we offered singo. So we're in a licensed single provider, our music bingo. And then my brother does karaoke now. He's joined up. We have the silent disco.
Starting point is 00:22:16 I'm friends with a bunch of DJs. So we just, we will book DJs for you as well. We've done weddings and private events. I really like corporate work. Boy, if you got a company and you want your employees entertained, that's my bread and butter. I really love those. So you must be just like seven days a week, dude.
Starting point is 00:22:34 No. Okay, good. No, no, I make it look harder than it is. Right, right. Okay. What you don't realize is he's got a whole team. So he talks about the trivia nights. He's got an army of folks that used to be just mostly you and Will leading all those.
Starting point is 00:22:49 But now you've got minions. We used to run them together as a team and it was fun. Yeah. You know, we had working with your buddy. And then I was like, oh, we have to split all this money. Right. You know, like the business mine kicked in where I was like, boy, if we just did this alone, we could keep all the money.
Starting point is 00:23:04 Yeah. And then we added more nights and added more to the team. But we're currently in about 70 locations right now nationwide with our website subscription service. And that was my biggest accomplishment with us. Years ago when we started, I was like, I could see this going into more places. And so that's going really well. But we're doing, locally, we do all this other stuff as well. And I just, we were launching a new website probably within a week.
Starting point is 00:23:31 Remember that website that was going to be done in three months? Yeah. Remember that one? That's how websites go. Yeah, it's still going. So we're six months in. But I got to call Friday with my developer. We're going to, we got to bring down the current site for a few hours to flip the new one on.
Starting point is 00:23:45 Yeah. And it looks, dude, it looks really sharp, man. It's going to have all of our booking. There's a really nice booking form on there. game downloads if you want a one-off trivia night and the subscription. But anything you want to book will go through that new website now. That's awesome. So you don't have to be actually physical.
Starting point is 00:24:04 Like people can book you to do the trivia or they can also subscribe to you and they can do their own. Correct. Right, right, right. Yeah. So it's a do it yourself. We had all these games we were creating every week for local trivia. I was like, what are we doing with these? We got this giant archive.
Starting point is 00:24:20 So we package them and just sell them as digital downloads. so you can print and play. And so we try, I mean, it's all tried and tested stuff. So it's like a game we run. We catch most of the typos. Yeah. You know, I mean, like, it's mostly accurate. So, and then you can download it and run it at your bar.
Starting point is 00:24:36 So the other night I did my in-laws and my wife and I and the kids, we went to a trivia night at, I don't even remember where we were. It doesn't matter. But the point is, I was sitting there and I was getting mad at this one team. And then I started thinking, like, I got to go home and look up on you. Have there ever been trivia night fights? And now I'm realizing I can ask the guy right here. Have you ever seen it get so hostile where teams,
Starting point is 00:25:00 maybe not physical, but close to physical or physical? I never have seen a physical fight. Well, that's good. And part of that's our brand. We're just chill bar trivia. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I did have my first, I did have my first trivia Karen. Yes.
Starting point is 00:25:15 Oh, yeah. They're everywhere. Last Wednesday, we had a brewery man, and we had 19 teams, like 130 players, which is a record crowd. It's a hard demand. 130? Do you say 130? 130 people in the bar.
Starting point is 00:25:28 I mean, they were at capacity, standing room only. And it's a lot to run. So it's like if you're correcting in between rounds, it takes a long time. It runs slow. Game typically runs 7 and 9 p.m. We're running late. We're getting done at like 9.30. I cut out a round.
Starting point is 00:25:44 I was like, we've got to cut the game down. We're never, otherwise we're going to go home at midnight. Sure. Sure. So at the end of the game, somebody, One of my regular players who I typically like just approached me and started complaining about cutting the round. And I was so, I was explaining. And I'm like, I just, you know, a little bit of empathy, dude.
Starting point is 00:26:02 Just a smidge of empathy up there. And she hit me with, I could run it faster. Okay. And I said, how do you know that? Wow. Come on up. You know how she knows that? I donated a game to one of her, like, charity events.
Starting point is 00:26:17 That probably had 10 people. And why are you fighting with me? Yeah. I donated stuff to you. and boy that was a reminder of why I'd never help anybody yeah but I listened to her points they were sure valid I'm just I'm not as superhuman dude right right and cookie was there with the baby dude I was playing with the baby it was probably
Starting point is 00:26:35 my fault actually she was like a valid it was yeah yeah yeah yeah he was playing him like nor so no trivia of fights maybe I'm the Karen yeah times you got to ask yourself that you bring out the care yeah uh no physical fight that's good I have uh I My favorite was once I announced the wrong winner. Starting point is 00:28:23 So I had a team and I just read the score wrong. Classic Steve Harvey, dude. I was just going to say that. Classic Steve Harvey. And, you know, it's a quick correction. Somebody comes up and they're like, I think you misread. So I apologize to the room, the bar. And it's like at the end of the game, everybody's hammered.
Starting point is 00:28:39 So I apologize. The kid that thought he won't, this team, this guy, he was so upset. He was like, listen, man, I was going to get laid. And you just really. It was like, but you didn't win. I'm like, you understand how numbers work, right? I'm like, you didn't really win the game. I just announced it wrong.
Starting point is 00:29:00 And he was like, and so, and I get it, I'm like, man, if that was, if that was what was getting you, I don't think you were getting laid. Well, yeah. Here's the other part of that. What, I mean, what man or woman is going to sit there and be like, I'll tell you what, if that guy wins this trivia game, I'm going to bang his brains. Like, why is that, why is that a benchmark? Listen, ladies have standards, you know.
Starting point is 00:29:21 I get it, and that's fine. They don't want no loser trivia guy. Yeah. You don't want a loser of trivia. That's true, you know. You know, some guy that doesn't know when the Battle of 1812 was, it's not somebody that's worthy of your underwear. You don't know how to put these board games in the right order, dude.
Starting point is 00:29:35 You can put this pussy in the right order. That's for sure. That's for sure. That is wild trivia. And then, so this guy, I'm sorry, he'd never let it go for weeks. What? Oh, he held on. I would run into him.
Starting point is 00:29:46 Yeah, he would bring it up every time. And so I had to sleep with him, dude. It was like, I got to take care of this guy. Like, listen, there's only one way to resolve this. Pull your pants down. And that's what makes you great. You're a man of the people, Phil. Why it's the most popular trivia night.
Starting point is 00:30:04 We all know. Believe me. Amazing. We can't go much longer without giving some love to our lady. Kelly here. Kelly, tell folks again what type of services you offer? So I pretty much do everything beauty related with skin being my primary specialty.
Starting point is 00:30:28 Nice. I have skin. Yes, everybody does. And it's the largest organ, and it's usually the most neglected. I believe all of that. Yeah, people will diet, you know, they'll get on some sort of crazy health kick and stuff, but it usually doesn't involve the skin. So I kind of help people with their skincare journey.
Starting point is 00:30:48 But I also do all natural vegan lash lift intents, which is basically like a little perm for your eyelashes. Really? Yes. And it lasts like six to eight weeks, which is what I love about it because, you know, who doesn't like to wake up in the morning and be like, whoa, I actually look alive today. I feel like any beauty thing that you can do that lasts is awesome like that. Yeah, I was blown away by how long they actually last. and I finally found a system that I implemented at the shop that's amazing. I mean, it's the same stuff that I would utilize, you know, in some of my facials even, you know.
Starting point is 00:31:26 Really? So for people with, like, sensitive eyes and, or I call it leaky eyes, too, you know, like those chemicals not getting into your eye and actually burning, you know, like last six to eight weeks. Come on, you can't beat that. That's awesome. We have a podcast through growth mode content. Our clients, Stacey and Jen, they do, it's the Stab and Jabb podcast, and they, I don't want to speak out of trying. I don't want to, are they estuitions?
Starting point is 00:31:56 They do a lot of the medical care. Yeah, so they do PRF treatment, lip filler, Botas. Do you do any of that? So I am an esthetician, not a medical esthetician. Gotcha. So that's actually kind of the difference between the A and the E. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:32:10 So I'm the one with the E. All right. Yep. But I do like the more advanced treatments. So I can still offer things like chemical peels, nano-infusion, nanoneedling. So I'm like one step below the medical ones, but there's still ways to kind of work around that and still get the results that you want. It's just my approach is more low and slow. So a lot of like the dermatologists and stuff, They're not going to go through your whole skin care routine with you and tell you what each ingredient does and why it's beneficial for your skin.
Starting point is 00:32:49 And, you know what I mean? They're not going to take the time. They're going to prescribe you, you know, some trinone or dapdeline or something like that. Can we try something fun just based on just your instincts? How would you fix these guys? Look, first glance, right? Got another hour? Look, at first glance.
Starting point is 00:33:07 Yeah, I would need about an hour. Okay. Like, Matt's got a little bag right here, right? I got big ones. I got... How do you fix the bags? So for bags, typically, for topical products anyway, something with, like, caffeine, niacinamide, vitamin C. I should just pour my coffee on my faith?
Starting point is 00:33:25 I know. It's a lot of ingredients, like I said. But each one of those does a different thing. You know, one's frightening. One will help constrict the blood vessels a little bit for you. If we were in office, you know, if it's a matter of, you know, if it's a matter of, you know, know, it might be actually your sleep, you know. Sure.
Starting point is 00:33:45 I have a cool little tool called a hot and cold hammer, and it literally looks like a mini blow dryer. But it cools the skin. So that'll reduce inflammation. Yep. You know, reduce the redness on your skin. Help with the puffiness and stuff. So, like, I can alter and adapt everyone's experience,
Starting point is 00:34:07 depending on what they're kind of looking for. You ever see these things? They've been advertising on TikTok. talk and I don't really understand. This is one of the things that I have not searched for, but it's shown to me. They're showing me these like almost like a boxer tool. Yeah. Metal thing where you're just like pulling across just similar to they do with boxers.
Starting point is 00:34:23 I think that's the cold hammer, isn't it? So, yeah, that one typically is the one that warms up. But they do make the cold ones too. Sometimes they also. So there is some value to that. It's not just some idiot wiping something across his face. Right. Wow.
Starting point is 00:34:36 Hey, rock. Get in there. Depending on how it's designed. Sure. You know what I mean? So some of them have like the little red light therapy or sometimes the blue light therapy. How does TikTok? Are they analyzing my videos and going, this guy needs this shit?
Starting point is 00:34:49 Maybe. Is that how they're feeding me that? What do you think of some of the, I know you can't speak for all, but I also see these creams that you can put on? And then they sit there and they time lapse it and they put it on one side and you can see within minutes it works. And I feel like that's complete bullshit. Yeah, the temporary face. Well, it kind of like fills the holes. Okay.
Starting point is 00:35:08 You know what I mean? And it will. Like spack. but it's not going to be a long-term effect. I've always had some bags under my eyes, but now with the lighting in here, there's some clips I see. I look like I'm dead. Like, I mean, because there's no filler light.
Starting point is 00:35:24 And so... Mike, we have something to tell you. Uh-oh. Am I dying? Or am I already dead? We actually died three months ago. I fucking knew it. I knew it.
Starting point is 00:35:34 Who are you talking to? I forgot what I was going to say. So I'm so... So you look dead inside. I'm dead inside. I'm dead on the outside. I want to do our next visit, I wanted her to bring masks that we can wear. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:48 You got under the eye little peels and then you got this whole thing that goes over your whole face. Like Dwight in the office? Yeah. Cable is talking about the Lume Infusion Service. Okay. So I utilize Dermologica products and I love them because they do their research, you know, it's scientifically backed. I know it works.
Starting point is 00:36:08 I know how to use them. But the loom infusion is an awesome service that they came up with. And it allows my clients to kind of trial all these big words that nobody's not. What the heck is nano infusion? What the heck is LED light therapy? And, you know, what do they do? So that one's nice because you get like a low level peel. There's no downtime.
Starting point is 00:36:31 It feels incredible. You leave looking glowy. You get to try the nano infusion, you know, so the peel is actually nano-infused into the skin, so it helps it to penetrate more. Wow. Then it's removed with an enzyme, and obviously you get the nice enjoyable massage and all of that stuff. And then there's actual chemical peel iPads that you can use with that service as an upcharge. And then you get the red light therapy mask.
Starting point is 00:36:59 Oh. So you get to try the LED therapies too, and it's all in one. service so yeah if i have clients that are a little bit hesitant um to actually go to full-fledged kem peel i'll start them out with that because it's a nice way to kind of you know yeah kempil sounds like they pour acid over you know it's how they made the joker and the man exactly can we do a good news york spa day where we go maybe i probably said that last time i would love that honestly because it's it's hard to really explain what i do You know, because there's so many moving parts to it.
Starting point is 00:37:38 Yeah, same here. We can't explain what we do either. And I honestly, because I work better when I'm doing it. You know what I mean? I have the best interaction with my clients because I can explain it as I'm doing it. Right, right, right. You know. And it's hard to appreciate until you got like cream getting painted on your face and it smells good and it feels nice.
Starting point is 00:37:56 And you're like, oh, this is wonderful. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I just think it's unfair that, like, you know when someone says like, hey, man, you look good or you look. You know, you say that to a guy. We're like, oh, wow, thank you. Because society has made us just raw dog life with no makeup. We don't do it.
Starting point is 00:38:11 Women get all these, what are all that stuff you're talking about. We don't do any of it. So I feel like when someone says you look good, I'm like, that's a compliment because I didn't do any of that shit. No peals. Nope. No eyelash perms. Mike unfiltered. I really believe that, you know, skin care is a form of health care for us.
Starting point is 00:38:30 Of course. Why should guys not be allowed to, like, participate? Exactly, you know. It's true. And just booked a client for Tuesday, actually, you know, another male client. So I love having gentlemen in because it's a different ball game. Yeah. But I mean, obviously.
Starting point is 00:38:49 She said gentlemen. Sorry, guys. We're out. I do notice that there are more and more males admitting publicly that they get pedicures and manicures. And I think that's great. Yeah. I mean. There's so much information.
Starting point is 00:39:04 out there, how do you know that the information that you're getting is valuable? Sure. Aestheticians can help you with that. Yeah. Go talk to a professional. Or Facebook. Facebook's very reliable. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:17 All in any information. Yeah, you got some growth coming out of your, you know, like. What I like to do is go to the Facebook when professionals put up their detailed videos, and then you go to the comments. The comments are where you find the real truthful info. All the research. that everybody does. It's true.
Starting point is 00:39:35 I research. Well, you're amazing. And so, go ahead. Before we, no, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to cut you off there. I want to make sure that we dig into this really cool upcoming event that is also something that we're here to talk about. Plus, it's Dan's involved in this one. Yeah, yeah. So this is a family event.
Starting point is 00:39:58 Yeah, you help put this together. I love this. Tell us about it, buddy. Yeah, so coming up, if you don't know, The original Nintendo Entertainment System was released October 1985 in the U.S. It's a 40th anniversary. It was a first toy I got. I mean, I remember getting this thing as a kid, dude, for Christmas.
Starting point is 00:40:16 Same. My parents were like, here you go, leave us alone. And it worked. Yep, it definitely was the best. So anybody in our age range, we're celebrating, we're doing a 40th anniversary Nintendo Trivia night. It's at the Burstown Inn in New Hartford. It's going to be fully.
Starting point is 00:40:34 original NES themed and then we're doing a Nintendo music bingo night. So we're going to incorporate two of our events. Hey, it's Cubby. You see, I love a good energy drink to keep me moving, and I'm glad now I have liquid death sparkling energy to keep me awake. I can't wait to keep drinking all these delicious flavors. Starting point is 00:42:21 Prize pool is outrageous, dude. My friends over at GameStop in New Harford got us a Switch 2, so a brand new Switch 2 Mario Kart bundle. Wow. That's a grand prize. What is that? $500 or something? something that's outrageous. If you have IT issues the night of that event, you're a shit out of luck because every nerd in the world is going to be at this event. I got you guys at table.
Starting point is 00:42:42 Yeah, yeah. You guys have growth mode. We'll be there. I got you guys a table. So we're doing that. We got an original Nintendo. We like a secured an original. It comes with three games. I can't remember what they are, but they're classics. We got an Ness Classic, which is the remake with the HTML. We got some portable giveaway. I mean, it's a, it's a, it's a, it's over a thousand dollars and prizes and giveaways we're going to do. And it's hosted by myself, my buddy Josh Wilbert is going to be there. I just gathered all the
Starting point is 00:43:10 nerds from the team and all the gamers. And we're going to have some cosplay. I actually hope people dress up for this, dude. Oh, that would be the best. I would love that. So tickets are on sale currently. If you go to the Facebook page, it's just NES 40th anniversary trivia
Starting point is 00:43:28 party. That's what it's called on our Facebook page. That's the easiest way to send you there right now. and you guys could probably throw up a poster. Yeah, yeah, it'll be like, you are and all that. I mean, as a kid of the 80s and 90s, like, I mean, Nintendo was everything. There was no cooler gift, no cooler thing in the world. I want to circle back to the music. Do you mean you're incorporating the music into the trivia or like in between you'll be playing?
Starting point is 00:43:49 So it's totally separate event. We're going to do trivia and then what we do is we play our music bingo night, powered by the Singo software. One thing we do different that other music bingo events do not do is we make our own custom playlists. So you go somewhere else. It's just the pre-made was ever built into the software or something. We customize the whole playlist. So this is going to be all Nintendo themes. They're relatively short, so it'll move pretty quick, but it's going to send you back to your name. You're going to hear songs you never totally forgot about. You get a bingo card
Starting point is 00:44:22 with your games on it. Once you hear the theme, you mark it. We're going to have everything projected and displayed, so we'll help you along the way. And we'll play at least one, maybe more that depends on the schedule. We're going to do trivia, bingo, and then we're also going to be running that bingo at the retro GameCon, which I'm super excited about it, one of our sponsors. Thanks to Danny, helping us out making that connection. So we're going to give away.
Starting point is 00:44:48 Part of our prizes is a full weekend pass for your whole team to Retro GameCon. Oh, my God. So our event's September 12th. GameCon is October 10th, so it's like a month in between. you got to prepare, but we're going to be there. So I'm sure you guys are probably going to be at the event, right? Yes, for sure. We got a panel.
Starting point is 00:45:06 We're going to be doing the music bingo. So if you can't come and play with us on September 12, go to Retro GameCon, join our panel. You'll be able to play live. We'll be doing it probably from your phone. We have a digital version that's going to just work better for that event. And it's all randomized. It's just fun. It's bingo with the games we grew up on.
Starting point is 00:45:25 That's so cool. Tickets are $20 for the trivia night. And we have a VIP table available. So you can buy a whole team table. Maximum eight players per team. So gather your pals. So I got to, I don't want you to give anything away, but I'm curious at what some of the trivia questions might be.
Starting point is 00:45:42 So is it like, you know, who designed Super Mario or are we getting niche? Like, like what's, you know, where's the warp zone in level three? Yeah, yeah. How deep are we getting here? Super Mario 3, the P-wing where you can fly over the lava ship? Yeah, yeah. So two-part answer here. One, we haven't finished the game yet.
Starting point is 00:46:00 Fair enough. Yeah, super procrastinator. That's okay. We've been like, we've been doing everything about it. We should probably get this game written. We are going to make it pretty advanced. Because I'm like, I should go into this, man. You know all this stuff.
Starting point is 00:46:13 You're serious. It's not going to be like, what's the contra code. It's not going to be the softball question. Up down, up down, left, right. Yeah, we're going to get a little tricky. We're really going to try to pull, like, make you remember shit. Like, you're going to have to be like, oh, I don't, damn, that level. Will the venue make drinks according to the night?
Starting point is 00:46:31 Because I think that'd be a great drink name. Up down, up, down, left, right, left, right, A, B, select start. Any gaming nerd would love that. Bartender wants to. That would be bringing you 30 drinks. Yeah, yeah, right, right. Maybe that's a little too long when it's busy. Can I get an up down, up, down, left, right, left, right?
Starting point is 00:46:46 But either way, I think they should be great. I hope. So all the food is provided by the beer garden, which is attached right to the Burrestone in there. If you're in Syracuse, it is less than an hour, I think. it's a less than an hour drive to get there. It's worth it. It's worth driving for this one. This will be our biggest trivia night of the year. I have no doubt about it. It's going to be awesome. Tickets are already selling. There's plenty left, though. We're still quite a ways out. But yeah, we'll do themed drinks. So they'll have a mobile bar in the
Starting point is 00:47:13 ballroom. You guys came to the Ryan Nealler show. Yep. I did not. And so same setup. We're going to have tables, staging area. That's a great room for all that. I love that space. We're also going to be doing later in the year. This is It's just a teaser, really. We're going to be doing a blacklight rave with our silent disco. We're also doing blacklight bingo. Wow. We're going to bring back sort of the Turning Stone used to do it, where they would do like the party bingo on Fridays.
Starting point is 00:47:39 We're going to recreate our own version of that. It'll be in November. Black light scare me because, you know, you can see lots of things. You have to wear new clothes. You have to wear, to buy new clothes. Matt's going to walk in and his crotch is just going to be lit up. Not me. It's everybody else that you want.
Starting point is 00:47:56 I was going to do one at a restaurant at one point. Oh, God. Yeah. I quickly changed my mind. Health department will be like, what? I don't think that's mayonnaise. Yeah, that's not ranch. I had this, well, let's keep talking about the event, and then I have an idea before.
Starting point is 00:48:15 Tell me I can shit on them. Well, good, because I had this for years, and it has to do with the silent disco event like you're talking about. Kind of the same thing. I'm like you. I saw this car wash for sale And I went, you know it would be sick? A rock and roll car wash Where when you pull into the bay
Starting point is 00:48:34 You turn your radio to whatever the dial is Pretty sure that's a thing And you can choose rock, pop, R&B And when you go in, the song plays, right? Like, at the car wash. But it doesn't have to be car wash theme It could be rock and roll, it could be Metallica. I think it should only be that song.
Starting point is 00:48:51 And it lights up, that's true. And it lights up And everything moves to the beat of the song. And I feel like, you know, rock and roll car wash. The brushes. Yeah. Yes, it's for me. Yeah, yeah, I could see it.
Starting point is 00:49:03 I feel like it's all black light. I could be mistaken. Or it's all black light. All black light. Because you know what? That's safe because it's a car wash, so you won't see any stains, right? So if the black light's there, you're fine. You could also just eat some mushrooms and go through the car wash.
Starting point is 00:49:16 You could do that. You see even more color. And I think what you're describing is a radio? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, you're pretty much you're just describing a radio. I get what you're saying. I get what you're saying.
Starting point is 00:49:23 I get. I guess. I used to pay extra to get the rainbow colored. That's what I'm talking about. From one esthetician to another, we understand each other.
