Starting point is 00:00:00 All right, so this is something fun and different for the afternoon on Saturday here Going through some items. I have a list on eBay ones a word processor And I had gotten in a while back and I believe the word processor works What we're gonna do is we're gonna read a Story that's in it. Well, it's not really stories like somebody wrote it from 1984 it was printed using this in it. Well, it's not really stories, like somebody was doing this so just imagine this being December 29th in 1984 and this is the letter as written here. Hi, this year I missed the Christmas mail so I decided that I would use my new toy and write an after Christmas letter
Starting point is 00:00:58 instead. Our Christmas was very hectic all day, but all turned out well. Carl's mother came out bright and early in the morning and started us out on the adventures of the day. Needless to say, the kids were thrilled with what Santa had brought. CJ got his cassette player, that's so he can listen to Michael Jackson all day long. And Bobby got her prize cabbage patch. The story behind that is a good one. I now work full time at my office. And the one day after work, there it was sitting, sitting on the hood of the car with a tag,
Starting point is 00:01:45 to Bobby John from Santa. There's really a Santa somewhere. That was the only thing she wanted and the only thing most difficult to get. Christmas night was a madhouse as usual. The whole family was there for the annual gala event. There was a total of 45 people ranging in age from 82 and a half to my cousin's little one-year-old one age two months old. It always amazes me that I managed to live through it all and that it would make it through the rest of the week. I really was beginning to wonder if I would make it through work the next day. It seemed
Starting point is 00:02:31 like the day was going on forever. So much for Christmas this year. Hope you all had a nice Christmas holiday season and managed to survive with all intact. I'm sitting here writing this and looking out at the most gorgeous sunny day not believing that it's almost January. Oh well, better that the snow and 10 degree cold kind of makes me wonder what the warm weather will bring. Hope this finds all healthy at your house. For the most part, we are all well. An occasional cold, but nothing serious. Cal is now building houses with a builder up the street.
Starting point is 00:03:19 They specialize in post-beam houses, antique reproductions. They just finished one, and it's beautiful. Needless to say, the people who bought it were thrilled. The lady has it looked like it was just stepped off the pages of House Beautiful, antiques all over the place. It is really nice. antiques all over the place. It is really nice. They do good work. Colleagues learning a lot from the man and someday I'm going to put it all to good use. This summer they're heading out to Block Island to build a post and beam house for a local businessman. We are all invited to come over for a visit. They have already been out there capping off the foundation. Took three of them three days.
Starting point is 00:04:12 Don't know if they are slow or the job is hard. Could have been kind of hard and slow work. At any rate, it should be interesting with the two families out there. They have two kids, two, one boy and one girl. The girl is CJ's age and the boy is Bobby's classmate at school. Now that I've babbled on for a while, I would have to say goodbye and wish all you a happy and prosperous new year. Love to all Carl, Linda, CJ, and Bobby." So that's pretty cool. This letter was inside of this...
Starting point is 00:04:52 I'm gonna make a video of it too in a minute, but I thought I'd do a little audio of it too. And then we'll do... I'm gonna list this brother. high-tech. So this letter was just in there. I guess it was never mailed, right? I actually have the address. I didn't say the address, but there was an address on here. Thinking about mail to that address. What if it's 1984, so that's what? 30 years, 84, 90?
Starting point is 00:05:38 Yeah, so it's a long time ago. So one of these people ever got this letter. I'm not sure who actually wrote it. Must be Linda that wrote it. It says sign Carl, Linda, CJ and Bobby were the kids. Carl would have been her husband that does the post-it beam. So she must be Linda. Yeah, there's a whole name to it,
Starting point is 00:05:59 but I'm not gonna say the whole name. I'll just leave it at that. So pretty fun. I always find these little fun things. And I can use, I can do it as a video. I'll just leave it at that. So pretty fun. I always find these little fun things and I can use, I can do it as a video. I'll do that in a minute. But I thought I would podcast this because it's pretty cool.
Starting point is 00:06:12 December 29th, 1984. Wow, time goes by fast. I graduated in 1986. So 84, I was still 16. Crazy 16 by then, but still 16. So, this would have been around my Christmas time, when I was still getting presents and stuff. So, pretty cool.
Starting point is 00:06:33 I wasn't a kid then, but we still got stuff, even as we get a little bit older. Pretty neat. So, a nice little found letter that I wanted to read for anybody out there. It's pretty cool. All right, so I will talk to you again guys tomorrow. All right, bye.
