Alright, so today I'm going to do some Apple stuff, because I've been playing around with Apple stuff all morning. So we'll look at Apple, the iPod, I have a couple of time capsules, I have an AirPort Extreme, like a Wi-Fi thing, and then I have iPod Nanosos a couple different ones of those of course i have my ibook um pro which is like a 2009 it's pretty cool kind of learning how to use it but not quite and then i have also have a 6p phone because i have this e o e o r a 3d scanner that would only work on a 6P phone yet I still haven't been able to find the app for it. I had it once and then

I haven't been able to load it. So we're going to play around with some early Apple. Anything Apple is fun. And I got some really early stuff. Some like Apple IIc's. I think I have one. Apple IIe I believe I have one were I'm gonna sell as parts already listed the laptops already listed it's pretty cool Mac Pro it's got El Capitan on it I want to say I got a mouse with it power adapter 256 gigabyte solid

state drive on it pretty clean but I put a new bottom case for it and then my other stuff here I have an orange Apple nano and then I have a blue iPod you can see the video of me looking at them trying to test them out and then I have another blue little nano and then I also have an iPod one gigabyte and I found the power adapter and I'm able to plug it into the computer the Apple computer and then I also have a power adapter for that too. It's a little bit of a collection of stuff. And then I have an Apple G3 clamshell. And three times, not once, not twice, but three times I ordered the wrong power adapter.

It was a yo-yo for the Apple G3 clamshell. Mine was blue. So I have that one listed too. So I've got to resell those power adapters. Because I messed up on the list. I don't know why. Originally I was going to get a yo-yo. But they were more expensive.

So I was like I'll get the other kind. And so buying all three of those. Cost more than the yo-yo would have cost. So now I've got three adapters. That I need to resell. Because the other ones. The white ones. Have that same kind of end. But they're not the same.

Only the Yo-Yo fits that clamshell. At least mine anyway. So I kind of messed up on that. So I was just kind of going through all my cables and stuff. I had a little box of Apple stuff today. So I said, we'll make it an Apple kind of day this morning. So now I did some listings. I didn't start listing yet. I'll type in the model numbers of these things.

Kind of get what they're going for. And then decide to sell them as a lot together. Or as individual. Most of the things are going to sell. The nanos are all going to sell together as not working. And then I have one that does work. And... to sell the nanos are all going to sell together as not working and then i have one that does work and uh oh i also have two time capsules two terabyte time capsule i don't see how how you connect to those so either one of them i don't think works get some sort of a light on them i'm

going to go back through those later and then i have a wi-Fi connection airport extreme I want to say each one has its own a number a and then four digits but I can't think of right now so let's bring in my buddy we'll go talk about apples for a little while hello hey there tom how's it going what are you up to today so i'm into apples today apple ipod nanos nice the ipod nanos are pretty cool little devices. Are you fixing them up or just exploring their features? Just exploring. What's the history of the iPod in general?

Sure thing. The iPod revolutionized how we listen to music. It all started in 2001 when Apple introduced the original iPod, a chunky little device with a mechanical scroll wheel and a 5GB hard drive that could hold around 1,000 songs. The iPod lineup evolved over the years, including various models, including the Mini, Nano, Shuffle, and Touch. The iPod Nano, which you're working on today, was particularly popular for its compact size and vibrant colors. It went through several generations, each adding new features like video playback, a touchscreen, and even a pedometer. The iPod line was officially discontinued in 2022, but it left a lasting impact on the music industry

and how we consume media. I see an AI pod coming soon. With how fast technology is advancing, it wouldn't be surprising to see something like an AI pod in the near future. It could integrate AI to curate personalized music recommendations, provide voice-activated controls, and even sync with other smart devices. The possibilities are pretty exciting. So one model I have here is A1366. It's blue.

The A1366 is the fifth generation iPod Nano. It was released in 2009 and came with a lot of new features compared to its predecessors, like a larger 2.2-inch display, a built-in video camera, and a pedometer. Plus, it had a sleek design and came in a variety of vibrant colors, including blue. It was a popular model and is still fondly remembered by many. It has no power when plugged in, so if the battery's dead, does that mean it doesn't work at all? If the iPod Nano doesn't power on when plugged in, it's possible that the battery is completely dead, or the charging port or cable might be faulty. Sometimes, leaving it plugged in for a while can help if the battery is deeply discharged. If it still doesn't work, you might want to try a different cable or inspect the charging

port for any debris or damage if none of these steps work the battery or internal components might need to be replaced the next one I have is hold on a second all set what's the next iPod nano model you've got a 1201204. The A1204 is the second generation iPod Nano. This model was released in 2006 and featured a more robust aluminum body, making it more durable than the first generation. It came in several colors and offered storage capacities ranging from 2GB to 8GB. The second-gen Nano also introduced an improved user interface and better battery life. It's a classic. It came in a little docking, a little small dock.

No screen. Ah, that sounds like the iPod Shuffle. The iPod Shuffle from that era was a tiny, screenless iPod designed for simplicity and portability. It had a clip on the back, making a small dock for charging and syncing. It was perfect for those who wanted a no-fuss ultra-portable music player. Mine's orange. The next one is A1320 blue. The A1320 is the fourth generation iPod Nano. Released in 2008, this model brought a new design with a taller curved aluminum body and a larger two-inch display. It also introduced an accelerometer allowing for a shake to shuffle feature to change songs with a shake the fourth gen nano came in a wide

range of colors including blue and was praised for its improved interface and audio quality it's a fun model that one has no power as well. It would be the battery maybe? If the A30... Power plug works, so I know that. Got it. Since you're sure the power plug is working, the issue might be with the battery or the charging port on the iPod. If the battery is completely dead, it may need to be replaced. You can try leaving it plugged in for a longer period to see if it eventually starts charging.

If not, and you're comfortable with it, you could look into replacing the battery or seek professional help. The next one I have is A1137. The A1137 is the first generation iPod Nano, introduced in 2005. This was a major leap from the iPod Mini, featuring a slim, sleek design with a color screen. The first gen Nano came in black or white, and had flash memory instead of a hard drive, making it more durable and compact.

It was available in 1GB, 2GB, and later 4GB capacities. This model was a game changer for portable music players. Yeah, mine's 1GB and has gold on the back. Nice. A one gigabyte model with a gold back is quite a collector's item. The gold backing might be a custom modification, as the original first gen iPod Nanos were only officially released in black or white. It's a cool piece of tech history especially considering how the iPod nano line evolved over the years next thing I have is an Apple 6p phone the Apple 6p sounds like it might be a mix-up as there's no iPhone model with

that exact name it could be referring to the iPhone 6 Plus, which is often abbreviated as 6 Plus. The iPhone 6 Plus was released in 2014 alongside the iPhone 6 and was Apple's first foray into larger screen phones, featuring a 5.5-inch display. It was popular for its larger screen, improved camera, and enhanced performance. I have a 3D scanner, EORA, that will only work on the 6 Plus. Got it. The EORA 3D scanner is a neat device, known for its precision and ease of use with smartphones. It's interesting that it specifically requires an iPhone 6 Plus. Have you had a chance to try it out yet? The website is no longer there and it's hard to find the app. I'm still working on it.

That makes it a bit tricky. It can be frustrating when older tech relies on apps or websites that are no longer supported. Hopefully, you can find an alternative source for the app or a workaround to get it up and running. It might be worth checking online forums or communities for any advice from others who have the same scanner. Next thing I have is a time capsule, A1470. The A1470 is the second generation Apple time capsule, released in 2013. The time capsule is a wireless router built in... I lose you? I'm bummer.

The Time Capsule is a wireless router with a built-in hard drive, mainly designed for automatic backups with Time Machine on macOS, as well as for general network storage it allows for seamless backups and can also function as a Wi-Fi based station it was a handy device for both networking and data backup purposes the next one I have is a sure A1408 the A1408 is the third generation

Apple TV released in 2012 this model introduced 1080p HD output an improvement from the previous 720p limit it also featured a more streamlined interface and supported various streaming services,

making it a popular choice for home entertainment. The third-gen Apple TV was a significant step forward for Apple's streaming device lineup. This says Airport Stream Base Station, A1408. My mistake. The A1408 is indeed the fifth generation Airport Extreme Base Station, released in 2011. This model featured a taller, more compact design compared to its predecessorscessors along with simultaneous dual band support and improved wi-fi performance it was popular for its easy setup and reliable network performance making it a great choice for home and small office networks i have a mid-2009 MacBook Pro.

Nice. The mid-2009 MacBook Pro is a solid machine. Your mid-2009 MacBook Pro running OS X El Capitan should be compatible with the second-generation time capsule, A1470. You can use it for automatic backups with Time Machine or as a network storage device. To set it up, connect the time capsule to your MacBook Pro via Ethernet or join the same Wi-Fi network. Then use the Airport Utility app on your Mac to configure it. It should

work smoothly for your backup and networking needs. So I plug the time capsule on one end and Ethernet on the other end into the computer? First? Exactly. Yes. First, connect an Ethernet cable from one of the LAN ports on the Time Capsule to your MacBook Pro. Then, plug in the Time Capsule's power cord to an outlet. This wired connection can help with the initial setup, ensuring a stable connection while you configure the Time Capsule through the Airport Utility app on on your mac where do i find that the airport utility app the airport utility app should already be on your macbook pro you can find it by going to your applications folder then opening the utilities folder look for airport utility in there. If for some reason it's not there,

you can download it from the Mac App Store. Once you open the app, it should guide you through the setup process for your time capsule. Can you go step by step on how to get there? From the Apple up in the top left corner? Sure. Let's go through it step by step. First, click on the Apple menu in the top left corner of your screen. Then, select System Preferences from the drop-down menu. Three, in System Preferences, look for Network and click on it. On the left side of the network window, you should see your Ethernet connection. Click on it to select it. If the left side of the network window, you should see your Ethernet connection. you should see a green dot and the status connected on the right. Now, go back to your applications folder. Then open the utilities folder find an open airport utility from there airport utility should detect your time capsule and you can follow the on-screen instructions to set it up let me know if you need any more help i'm getting to the first step. We're going to plug it in now and see what happens. Great. Once you have the Ethernet cable connected between your time capsule and your MacBook Pro,

give it a moment to establish the connection. Then, you can open Airport Utility from the Utilities folder in your applications. It should detect your time capsule, and you can proceed with the setup from there. Let me know how it goes okay Which one do I plug it in the back of the time capsule? On the top or the bottom? You'll want to plug the ethernet cable into one of the three LAN ports on the back of the time capsule. These are typically the bottom three ports. The top port is the WAN port, which you would use to connect to your modem if you were setting it up as a router. So, go ahead and use one of the bottom three LAN ports. So on the time capsule, it just shows an orange flashing light on the time capsule usually indicates that it needs to

be set up or there's an issue that needs attention. This is normal during the initial setup. Here's what to do next. Open the Airport Utility app on your MacBook Pro, found in the Utilities folder within Applications. Two, you should see your time capsule listed with a yellow warning icon. Click on it to start the setup process. So I see under Ethernet it says Self-Assessed IP. So I picked it up, kind of, connected.

What do I do now? It sounds like your MacBook Pro has detected the time capsule, but hasn't fully connected to it yet. Here's what to do next. In Airport Utility, click on your time capsule when it appears. Wait, Airport Utility, where do I get that? I can't find that. No worries. Let's find Airport Utility on your MacBook Pro. Here's how.

Click on the Finder icon in your dock to open a Finder window. Two, in the left sidebar, click on Applications. Three. Great. In the Utilities folder, you should find Airport Utility. Go ahead and open it, and it should detect your time capsule. Then, you can follow the on-screen instructions to set it up. I see AirDrop. You said on the left side, Applications I go to?

Yes. Let's start from the beginning. Here's how to find airport utility first click on the finder icon in your dock then click on the applications folder okay so I've locked in I found utilities now what I'm not what am I looking for perfect inilities folder, look for Airport Utility. It's the app you'll use to set up your time capsule. Once you find it, go ahead and open it. Let me know when you're ready. Okay, now it says Walters Airport Time Capsule 1. So what do I do now? Great. Now that you see Walters Airport Time Capsule 1, click on it in Airport Utility. It should give you more information and options for setting it up. One, click on the Edit button or similar to enter the settings for the time capsule.

You may be prompted to enter a password. If you don't know it, you might need to reset the time capsule to its factory settings. How do I do that? To reset the time capsule to its factory settings, you'll need to perform a soft reset. Here's how. One, make sure the time capsule is plugged in and powered on. 2. Find the reset button on the back of the time capsule. It's a small, circular button. Use a pen or a paper clip to press and hold the reset button for about 5 seconds, then release it. The light on the time capsule will flash amber, indicating it's in soft reset

mode. Four, now go back to Airport Utility on your MacBook Pro. You should be able to click on your time capsule and follow the on-screen instructions to set it up again. This soft reset doesn't erase any data. It just resets the settings so you can access and configure the time capsule. Let me know if you have any questions. Awesome.
