Starting point is 00:00:00 Good morning everyone. Today is Monday. It's now 542. So I kind of slept in a little bit. Not too much. 1223. Only a couple days till Christmas. So it's pretty exciting. Sunday, yesterday, I got a lot of stuff done. I worked on my... what did i do yesterday oh atari 600 xl so i spent the day breaking those down testing them and selling the parts off but it takes a long time to get each part i still haven't finished it uh a couple more little pieces i want to put up but then once i'm done it'll just do its thing uh down the road it's just getting it listed you know sometimes i just if i can't list everything off a system if i can get a couple pieces listed off a system then it just starts a conversation and then lots of times i'll get a buyer say hey do you have this
Starting point is 00:00:58 also from this system so so in the real and perfect world i'd have every part for every system listed but that's not realistic at all a i could never get all that stuff listed and then the other thing is it probably would be have so many orders i wouldn't be able to keep up so i try to listing although i am really trying to to ramp my eBay up store up with other stuff other than gaming. I'm doing a lot more computer parts, which I'm going to continue to go into that direction. And I still will add some other gaming stuff as well that I have that I haven't listed yet. So it's just a mixed bag. Plus I have some other fun salvage electronics stuff.
Starting point is 00:01:46 I have lots of radios. Pretty cool radios too. With like the front face plates and all that. That don't work or have some sort of issue. So I'm trying to get to some more of that stuff. I put a couple of keyboards up. And I'll do more. So let's check out the sports.
Starting point is 00:02:06 I watched Washington Commanders won yesterday. I'm kind of a fan of them. I like that. Let's see. The Bucks lost. Patriots lost again. Not by much. 21-24. Jags lost
Starting point is 00:02:22 again. Lots of coaches getting fired this offseason Jags is just terrible it was supposed to be a really good year let's look at all the scores the Patriots were a 4 o'clock game not really a big fan of them at all anymore so I wouldn't stay up to watch I wouldn't stay up for me for 4 4 4 30. I'm in bed sleeping
Starting point is 00:02:49 So let's look real. Let's took another quick little thing Let's see my football scores, I don't do any sort of I Don't bet or anything like that don't do any kind of fantasy football and that's silly stuff it's probably fun but so yeah the Cowboys although they're not that good the Bucks needed to win they lost Raiders so they're both 3 and 12. San Francisco lost again. Miami had to win. They did win.
Starting point is 00:03:29 Bills won. Patriots are 3-12. Minnesota Vikings are playing a good ball. 32 there. 13-2. They beat Seattle, who I don't think they're going to make the playoffs. Giants are probably the worst team in the NFL. Giants.
Starting point is 00:03:50 Falcons. Beat up on them. Colts. Titans. Titans are really terrible, too. Panthers are terrible, but they did beat Arizona. The Rams beat up on the Jets. Jets are also terrible, which is awesome. My least liked up on the Jets. Jets are also terrible,
Starting point is 00:04:05 which is awesome. My least liked team is the Jets. Especially with Aaron Rodgers. That is the biggest bust ever. Tom Brady to Tampa Bay. Good move. Aaron Rodgers to the Jets. Not so much.
Starting point is 00:04:23 I laugh every time I see that. It's just a, what a mess. Obviously, that'll be the end of that. Probably the end of him as well. I would assume he's going to retire. All right, so that's a little bit of football this morning. I always like to see what's going on.
Starting point is 00:04:41 Now, let's do some and some quick scanning of the news and other fun because I can I use MSN so I have a little pop-up so MSN has a little screen here where you can just scroll through kind of news that's quantum batteries that use spin degrees of freedom of particles to store energy developed so quantum batteries it's gonna be pretty awesome computer 101 what does a what does apu stand for let's look at that for a second anything like that i'm really into into the 101 of computers alright so let's see ever notice that there are a lot of grown-up words for computer
Starting point is 00:05:34 stuff API BIOS CPU DOS DOS not to be too confused with DLS DRAM GPU HDD, RAM, ROM the whole lot it's overwhelming so what the heck does an APU mean? it's nothing to do with the application program interface is it anything like a CPU
Starting point is 00:06:01 or GPU the A is the difference that makes all the difference. Altogether, it's shorthand for Accelerated Processing Unit. APU's function is a bit less straightforward than the name implies. It's not something you're going to find all hardware computers APU it's more of a newer some newer CPU if you simply an internal component to provide support for other processor functions but reality APU pulls double duty as both a CPU and a GPU so So it's the newer version, basically.
Starting point is 00:06:47 Okay. All right, so let's go and see if there's any other fun news this morning. Mapping noise to improve quantum measurements. I tell you, I'm really into the quantum thing. The more I look around in the format, the more things pop up for it all right so we did football so i have a few orders this morning nothing i've got to take down two texas instruments uh the motherboards i sold i gotta get those out today i'll retest them again. I have four motherboards. I actually have a fifth. I found a fifth one.
Starting point is 00:07:26 The Chrome Texas Instrument TI-99-4A there. What does the motherboard chip say? All right, so let's go see what's going on here. Etsy. So that's my first stop on my morning uh little so etsy i sold a few things uh still negative there we talked about that it's still negative like 60 bucks i'm way negative somehow i promoted stuff i didn't realize it so that's a bummer all, so let's go to my RSS feed. So yesterday I did booting of all of the 01 through 05 original Xbox motherboards.
Starting point is 00:08:15 That was fun. I learned a few things. There is a 1.2. I didn't know that. I mean, I figured it was, but I don't know, which I still don't really know. The Focus chip is actually a worse chip, and the excalibur chip is also even worse it's the the con covan covanix chip that's the one you want that's the better chip so i learned that yesterday and then i went through each version and the boot and a little bit of a difference up to the 1.6.
Starting point is 00:08:47 And there also is a 1.6B, which somebody had told me that. And then I verified it yesterday. Although you can't really go by my buddy Zippy 100% anyway. But it seems pretty. So I had five uploads last night. I think I had five uploads last night. I think I had someone new from, a few people from India,
Starting point is 00:09:10 so that's pretty cool. Somewhere way out in the ocean somewhere, I wonder where that is. And the biggest thing I'd like to see is the map and all the little red dots. India, yeah, India's pretty cool, United States, Masthow Beach, so pretty fun stuff uh yeah so thanks for everybody that comes by i appreciate it try to keep it interesting as i can and in the gaming and computing world.
Starting point is 00:09:48 Alright, so let's go. Plus also I do all my stuff here this morning when it comes to being a gaming part seller. So we're going to go to YouTube. Let's see where we're at there. I got some, I didn't really do, I did one I did a short. I do the other shorts that I do for my listing. I put them on YouTube. But I did another short.
Starting point is 00:10:12 I finally got my Windows 98 computer. This is interesting. I've just got a new achievement. One million views. That's pretty exciting. But unfortunately, it doesn't affect my revenue. I'm back up to $33 now
Starting point is 00:10:29 and 20 cents. But I've had a million views. Imagine if I could just get $1 for every view. That would be pretty cool. I'd take a one penny for every view. But, it just doesn't work that way.
Starting point is 00:10:53 But it's fun, um up to 5,678 uh subscribers i'm not going to use the word subs anymore i don't like that word i don't know i just went on to that so we're some that's how many subscribers i have and i don't think a lot. Most of them are like zero subscribers. So they're really not counted. There is a game called Turning Complete. I have one comment. So let's see what that comment is about.
Starting point is 00:11:19 So I'm back up to $33. It took me. I was at $33 a couple days ago. And then all these millions of views later I went down $2 or $1 and a half. $1 and change. And now I've gone back up to $33.20.
Starting point is 00:11:38 It's funny but it's really depressing actually. It's actually very depressing. I was really counting on this to be a big hoo-ha for me but not so much all right so there is a game called turning complete it's plays like a puzzle game this is a comment i'm looking i'm reading now and this is a comment on my the core ideas of cpu and the manipulation of energy for computers i had that was a fun one i did with uh my buddy zippy uh to learn about that all right so it's it's so he's referring to the transistors i want to learn about there is a game called turning complete it's a it's plays like a puzzle game
Starting point is 00:12:20 you start off building basic things with transistors like four bit adders you then build up to making CPU memory using components you already made that That sounds just awesome. Exactly what I'm looking for. This is the first time I think I've had a comment on a podcast. So that's pretty cool. That sounds just awesome awesome it sounds awesome it sounds awesome looking for i need
Starting point is 00:13:20 just what i'm looking for. I need to grasp the very basics of ones and zeros of one and zero cool so if I see it just like I do on ebay which we're going to next if I see a comment I will reply to it sometimes then there's another reply after that but I somehow I have to keep up on it so sometimes I miss that so a game called turn turning complete there is a game it's like a puzzle turning complete so I'll have to look on that so I want to make a simulator to learn about the ones and zeros and then i want to do a simulator for qubits as well
Starting point is 00:14:27 but that's not right now let's just talk about it sometime i'll actually get to it all right so and drum roll please we are heading into the realm of ebay let's see where it takes me so deep really slow only three weekends I used to have there was a point when weekends I used to have like 20 30 orders over the weekend now I have like two or three but I just need one decent one I have to go for the decent orders now so I had a feedback so I have two orders of feedback it says
Starting point is 00:15:13 thank you for a locking clip cool alright so that's cool so one good feedback so my feedback has been significantly less although I did reach over 10,000 feedback
Starting point is 00:15:31 a couple months ago, 2 or 3 months ago but I've sold according to the my store 26,000 parts so probably like half twenty six thousand parts so probably like half of those are given feedback I have one message let's see can we deal Excel 250 can we deal just the main unit
Starting point is 00:16:00 sure I would do that okay so this okay after that so this is the Atari XL I was adding all the monitor and I mean not the monitor but the controllers the programming I need the money so I'm gonna take it I had it for 375 which was a lot but sure sure okay okay you can make an offer make a offer for 1200 Excel only at 250 I'll do that this was a really hard month actually got a couple months of stuff that are really things building up but I gotta come up with
Starting point is 00:16:53 some other ideas to come up with an income here, okay you can make an offer for Excel only at $250 I'll take that but then after fees and all that that's so even when I sell something big like that 250. I'll take that. But after fees and all that, that's... So even when I sell something
Starting point is 00:17:07 big like that, USD, so it must be a different country or something. Where is this guy? When they say USD, that usually means they're in a different country. Yeah. Argentina. Okay. That's why.
Starting point is 00:17:23 So he's going to have a higher international shipping fee. But for me, if I sell something for $250, the eBay fees that come out of that is pretty big. And for a while there, I was promoting stuff and that was really taking even more
Starting point is 00:17:41 stuff. And I was like, oh no. So for me, eBay wants you to promote they're always actually there's a sale right here it says on my main selling page it says save 75 on promotion listings with a with a priority strategy opt-in and receive up to 200 and boost your sales but you don't know you never have any control of where that $200 goes or what is taken after that and i was in on all that for a little while and i was just getting wrecked with more fees especially if you do listings forget it i have a thousand listings it was five dollars per listing oh i was getting ruined so i stopped that I said I'll just go back to not having any sales
Starting point is 00:18:27 so I got two little offers I mean two little sales little guys a few bucks here so and then I got something to withdraw a little bit so that helps the cause okay that helps cause so that's why I had to go for that other offer I can handle that that's probably where over then so it's just less time I have to pack and
Starting point is 00:18:59 ship so it's just the unit that's great works for me so vintage computing is uh i've gone out and bought lots of stuff tandies uh have been my thing and they were all really really pricey and again that's why i'm on a debt consolidation but i wanted to learn about it and the way to learn about stuff is to get them and now like the like the Atari stuff, I'm now turning around it and selling a lot of it. After I've kind of been there, done that, learned about it a little bit. Some I'm breaking down, but the Atari 1200 I decided to keep intact. Alright, so I sell a set of screws. A set of screws always give back.
Starting point is 00:19:42 That's what I say I've been out of main GameCube parts for a good year or so but however I've got buckets of screws of GameCube so those
Starting point is 00:20:00 I always sell them because there's really no other place to get them I Don't even a couple dollars offer, but still Extra two bucks here extra two bucks there adds up. It's kind of how I live basically I live by the the two dollars per sale Pretty much and hopefully luckily I can hit something else that will All right, so we sold that So this is a complete set for the Nintendo Gamecube in the bottom screws, too
Starting point is 00:20:42 So it's a whole set. I get a couple more bucks off of that Not much, but I remember I had discounts and coupons so that just takes away pretty much those extra two dollars. So let's do that. Yeah, we're at about 20 minutes. So 20 minutes a day is usually... 20 minutes per little podcast here.
Starting point is 00:21:07 I really enjoy doing them. Especially in the mornings here because I'm doing stuff anyway. So it's kind of like talking to yourself. But I don't mind it actually. And then when I do the podcast, when I'm doing system boots and all that stuff, actually as I'm talking, I'm doing system boots and all that stuff, actually, as I'm talking, I'm reading out loud, so it's kind of like reading out loud there,
Starting point is 00:21:32 and then I learn stuff while I'm reading out loud. And I think it's helped my English a little bit. Not speaking English, but writing English. I have terrible writing English my terrible writing then I sold to Xbox 360 fat disk drive chrome Beezles the foot for the disk drives those chrome ones there's white ones so I saw those ones a while another thing that gives back I said I sold two per lot because I have to have
Starting point is 00:22:12 minimum of about twelve dollars per order I can't go any lower than that although with my coupons and discounts it actually is a lot lower down to sometimes eight dollars and that's basically almost trading uh old money for new money eight dollars is about the cost of me
Starting point is 00:22:32 getting these things out even if it's one screw as i always say just so you understand the concept most buyers don't understand that concept but there's no way I could not do free shipping I'd always have to have it I'd just have to increase the the base pay for price for the listing and I have best offer so that's the other thing so these little guys and someone wants best offer
Starting point is 00:23:00 even lower it's just like that's not happening that I can decline which I do happily I get like a four dollar offer for a set of screws it's not possible you can't you can't stamp mail anything once in a while i'll get someone say i'll just throw it in throw it in an envelope no hey it's gonna have tracking a stamp mail it goes blind i would know. If the buyer had gotten it. And then they'll open a. They'll open a.
Starting point is 00:23:29 Claim saying they never got it. But that's not happening. These are things that just. Have happened over the years so. I've always say that. Selling gaming parts. Has hardened my soul. Over the years.
Starting point is 00:23:47 It's pretty bad. But'm gonna make a living somehow i like working from home and like i said i've been diversifying so we'll find more ways to sell stuff all right so that's it for today it looks like for this morning we'll see if that guy comes through from Argentina. That would help me out. And then we'll... Oh, today I'm going to go... What did I say I was going to do for systems today? I want to get to PS2s.
Starting point is 00:24:20 We'll get more modern going on. But I think I'm going to go... We're still going to stay low, old. I'm going to do Intellivision and Magnavox Odyssey. See how those old guys booted. I actually found a Magnavox 1. It's the old Pong. Basically, Pong is basically all Magnavox's, the original one.
Starting point is 00:24:38 So we'll do a boot up of those and see what kind of chips those have in them way back then. Those would be in the 70s, I believe. And I have some other original dedicated systems back then, Pong stuff. Pretty fun. So I'll work with that later on today. All right, so you guys have a good afternoon, and we'll do something fun later on. Talk to you later.
Starting point is 00:25:04 All right, bye.
