Good morning everyone. It's now 5 a.m. and today is New Year's Eve.
So this is that two-week stretch where we go from holiday Eve, Christmas Eve, to Christmas Day when it's a complete holiday.
And then we get like a short week and then we get to redo it again.
Although New Year's Eve is not as big of a holiday.
Well it is if you celebrate it, go to like
Times Square or something, then it's really fun. But New Year's Day is not as, uh, there's
not many things as closed as like a Christmas day, but it's still a holiday. So, and then
we go to like a short week, then we get into the the weekend and then finally we'll be into our long i call
it the long dark tunnel between after new year's day and spring it's long we really haven't had
any snow yet here in rhode island at all we had one little flurry-ish kind of thing but uh when i was a kid i remember we used to get snow
and it used to be really cold in october and november so we used to have snow from october
all the way till spring now at 57 almost 57 i'm 56 still um if we get any snow it's usually
january end of january maybe february and then usually february february is really our snow If we get any snow It's usually January End of January
And then usually February
February is really our snow month
And then sometimes freakish snow
In March
And sometimes even in April
So
Just like anything else everything changes all the time
Never stay the same
Except for my groundhog day here
Which is pretty much usually always the same My routine my groundhog day here Which is pretty much
Usually always the same
My routine
So I'm a very routine person
It works for me
If you've been clean and sober
For many many years
Saw him since 2011
Routine was key
And changing the routine
Of the old routine
Of the drinking
Was the key Can't do that kind
of routine anymore you have to have a new one so my routine has been for since 2011
is i go to sleep early because most of the things were overnight at nighttime so it's a lot easier
for me to sleep through the night and get in and then start fresh nice early in the morning i like to be up early it's quiet i like quiet and i can get a lot done and again my shop is right as soon as i
walk out of the till as soon as i get out of my bed go and i am opened and ready to go for the
morning and i can do everything right here which is pretty cool it's definitely was a game
changer for me to learn how to find a way to work from home i went through many phases to get to
where i'm at but we're doing pretty cool all right so let's see what's going on so yesterday oh i got
my truck back that was key uh i needed that back a couple a box it was the there's a shift a
neutral shift switch inside of the transmission pan here they had take the
pan down and it broke so I was shifting into park and it wasn't activating that switch anymore.
Therefore, I was stuck.
I knew there was nothing I could do.
My car was stuck in neutral and that was it.
I was done.
Luckily, it's stuck in neutral and not in park.
That would have been more of a pain for them to tell it.
Because therefore, they wouldn't have ever put it into neutral to tell it.
So I don't know how they would have lifted it up
and put it on in a different way.
Because if it's not neutral,
you can't just hook the hitch
and then just pull it onto the truck.
So everything worked out for me.
Even though it was a pain
and it was an unexpected problem, i was able to resolve it pretty quickly
and pretty painlessly and now i have a truck back which is cool because then i went out yesterday
had so much garbage i had to do and errands and all that so so let's see where we're at this
morning i'm looking through the news the lions are still plunking away. It's going to be a fun playoff season.
I like to see the Lions.
I'm a big fan of the Lions.
There's some really good teams now that never were good before.
And a lot of the teams that used to be really good are like the Patriots.
They're terrible.
It's just that change.
It's a name for it.
I can't think of it.
Teams change over the years.
So we're not like the worst team in the league.
Pretty close to it.
Jets are probably the worst.
Although the Jaguars are pretty bad.
Lots more coaches are going to get fired.
Next week.
And that doesn't mean you get a better team.
But new coaches.
It's a team thing so you have to kind of get that like team together
And sometimes most of them never get it, right
So it looks like this football January 4th. No, so I think the last night was the last Monday night football
Here it pretty sure is Monday Night Football. I hear it. Pretty sure it is.
Alright, so let's see
what we got going on here. Let's go to Etsy.
Nothing yet.
Bummer.
I'm kind of in a pickle with Etsy. I'm not sure
what to do yet with this.
I used to get a few orders.
I don't mind not getting orders the problem is you get charged
per month for all the listings that you do so if I put a lot of listings up to try to get more
orders and they don't and nobody orders anything then I have to pay negative so that's kind of
sort of pickle on that for that but we'll do it a little bit. Alright, let's go to my RSS feed.
Oh, I managed to do Sega.
I decided to do all the systems after Sega Genesis yesterday.
So I think I hit them all.
And even the fun ones.
The CDX and the JVC-XI.
All systems I've had.
I don't have any more, but I did. so that i could learn about them a little bit i got videos of them somewhere you can type in like cdx or jvcxi into into the search in my
videos and you'll find some stuff it's out there all right so my podcast today let's see where i'm at so that's i've done 116
podcasts so far pretty fun so let's check my analysis overnight i had six again i call this
the uh message in a bottle i just throw it out there into the internet ocean and then whoever finds them picks them up it's not it's basically everything else i do it's
just good enough to be fun but it's not really anything that's uh to help me financially in
any way at all pretty much but i just make the most of it so it's like
the same same piece let's see how many cities we have so we break it down it breaks it down to the
cities and then oh yes they also did a one-on-one video trying to show a different angle. Got to see the best of me at 56.
So I did that. It was kind of fun. It went well.
I promoted that one too.
So we'll see where that one's at in a few minutes.
And we'll see how much
my subscribers
increased.
So some India,
Germany,
some
United States. A lot of them are the same,
but it's not really showing anybody new, so I always appreciate anybody that comes along here,
it's really fun, I enjoy to do it, so, especially the morning ones, because then it kind of wakes
me up here, and I kind of go through it while I'm doing this podcast early.
All right.
So now we're going to go to YouTube.
Let's see how much we increased since yesterday.
This is my first one-on-one kind of video.
I didn't get my face in there.
It was hard to set the camera up.
I didn't know where I was actually at.
But it ended up being my whole face.
Ah.
So we're at 7,120 subs.
Since yesterday.
So that's pretty cool.
That's total.
But it costs.
Uh.
So. Um. $37.21. So
$37.21
And I got one comment from my buddy
Retrofix
I'd like to set up
What you did here
It's my one on one
Nice little TV you found
How's the retention time for this video?
I'm getting some decent view numbers.
I've been watching the whole thing.
While I do some paperwork for Moniette.
Got some more views.
But there were.
The eyeball retained.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Promotions are key.
Promotions are key
for me retention oh so
thank you
is a new uh fun way to do
there's a new fun way i'll just put in a fun way
i try so promote retrofrix has his own site.
I've never actually...
I mean, his own channel, rather.
I'm sure he's doing a lot of...
I try to promote...
Oh, I try to...
Find new... Oh, I tried to find new, different ways to video.
Promotions are key for me.
Retention.
Retention.
Retention. Retention. promotions are key for me retention will always be my
bugaboo
so I used to work at a restaurant called bugaboo Creek actually thank you is it is a new fun way
I tried it I try to find different ways to video which I didn't do that's my retrofix guy.
He's got 1.85.
He's going up.
I don't know.
Again, I've gone up significantly.
Oh, actually, my view hours went over 101.3K.
That's the first time I've been over 100,000 for views.
That's cool. So if the views itself reflected in any
subtle way for your
revenue, that would really
make a big difference, but it doesn't.
But, so, then I did,
yeah, I did my Sega yesterday.
My, I didn't do it
until late.
I did Sega CDs, Sega Nomad, Sega Game Gear, CDX, JVC, XIs, also a Sega product.
Really fun.
Alright, so there we are.
That's where I'm at there.
So let's look at the content.
I promoted that and I put extra money into that one
but I may change that though
because I'm going to get walloped
again all these promotions are costing me some
serious bucks
I'm probably in the
$200 almost $300 worth of promotions
that's why on my one on one
I was advocating
for free YouTube that's why on my one-on-one i was advocating for uh free youtube live to youtube tv per month
as a bonus or a perk for all the hard work daily uploads and all that and i was asking for 200
dollars in credit per month for to help promote because all it does is
if I use that credit to promote
it builds my store up more
and therefore they get more views
on YouTube so it's a win win
for everybody
but I'm sure it'll go nowhere
but I decided I wanted to put that
out there for anybody that might read it
and say hey maybe we'll do that
because again if you go to the 3000 hours there's anybody that might read it say hey maybe we'll do that because again if
you go to the 3 000 hours there's really no perk at all you just get you in but then not really
the 4 000 hours you're finally there but then then what there's not really any perks but
all right so let's go to youtube uh let's see
let's see no not youtube let's go to YouTube. Let's see.
Let's see.
No, not YouTube. Let's go to eBay, rather.
So I've had some pretty good action with eBay.
I was able to save up some money from paying my truck.
Because that cost me a few hundred dollars unexpectedly. So let's see where we're at message wise.
I had an issue where I had to send another Jasper Xbox 360 motherboard.
Which one did we get retracted here? Oh, I've already been retracted. 360 motherboard so I gotta get that out today I had to find one so i found one so we'll
we'll get out we'll get recently so so the problem with it was he says that the
the dry board's not working i must have not tested it correctly i must have missed something
sometimes i do i just missed something so he was pretty cool i canceled it first he had a uh
it opened to return because it was overnight where i got the messages about it and
um when i uh saw it in the morning, like I do every morning,
uh,
I sent a message saying,
I'll send you another one if you just cancel the return.
And later in the day,
he did,
which was awesome.
So,
I got four orders this morning.
Uh,
got a little bit of,
uh,
help from eBay here, and all my hard work here.. So if I put a lot that's what I've been doing
I sit down
I've just been sitting down
just hunkering down
and saying
alright I gotta
do some listings
and it's
I've done a few
of all day
just banging them out
and
and then
my eBay
starts moving
a little bit
I got lots of stuff
again
going into all my
computer
stuff is
where I've been really helped but really have been helped me out because again it
is my lifeline because my really my only payment is through eBay at CA not quite
so far although I saw a couple things but I'm still negative all right so we
decided to do that the other guy retracted that offer.
I've had a lot of retraction meetings. Someone makes an offer
and then decides that they
don't want to do that offer.
So,
for whatever reason.
But most of the times when I see what the offer
was, I would have declined it anyway.
So, it's
kind of
interesting.
So I need to
see what I sold here.
I got four items, plus I had the motherboard.
And I think I had one other
thing yesterday.
Let's see what we're at here.
My four items
I have today.
Big items too.
Oh I sold my Atari.
1200 XL.
To somebody in New York.
Comes with a controller.
Basic program.
Pac-Man cartridge.
Adapter.
The whole set.
So I sold that yesterday.
Which is cool and so we're gonna get that out today
and then i sold a keyboard uh another one of my keyboards for the camera 64
so i pretty much sold all that camera 64 the keyboard separately then the motherboards keyboard also that missing keys I sold that one motherboard that
didn't work I think I sold that one I go into the new year
with some
so I sold that for a few
a few months and then I also sold
two
Sega Dreamcast
the top cover there's a latch
and a spring
buyers use that spring for some sort of a mod
one time I had somebody on a spring. Buyers use that spring for some sort of a mod.
One time I had somebody on
so this is going to be
like
let's see
it's going to be
65.
Alright, so
oh, they use the spring for something.
And then once on
YouTube, on Etsy I had somebody give me a bad Oh they use the spring for something And then once on On Ebay YouTube
No YouTube
On Etsy
I had somebody give me a bad review
Because he said the
The spring was crooked
Like what?
It's a spring that's been under tension
Since 19 what
Dreamcast came out in 1998
And
He left a bad
Cause he wanted another one
I don't give you another one.
It's just a spring.
The spring was intact.
It just was crooked.
I don't know.
It was still under tension.
Require a signature.
And then we're going to...
We have to require a signature on this one.
So this is for that big one.
And also, I'm going to do insurance.
Add extra protection.
I'll confirm and pay.
I've been adding the extra protection.
I just shipped out another pretty pricey thing.
So this is really going to help me out.
So basically, I live... Most people me out. So basically I live.
Most people live paycheck by paycheck.
I live order by order.
Pretty much.
But again I'm going to.
Although I put a lot of time into YouTube.
I'm not as much.
I always get some time in there.
Just because it's kind of part of my routine,
as we've talked about.
And same with this podcast.
It doesn't really go anywhere.
I mean, it does.
It still gets out there somewhere.
To the world.
Actually, the whole world. Because I've gotten some...
Some downloads from India,
which is cool, and a few other places.
It's pretty exciting.
That's why I do it,
just so I can get myself out there a little bit
for the fun of it.
Again, nothing's financially come out of it at all.
So, all right, so that's's that and i have two spring latches
spring latches so those are really easy peasy uh shipping it comes with it's just the spring latch
the spring and the two screws that's it and i sell it for a little bit because somebody uses those
they use the spring for modding meaning they're using it for something different that's worth a
little bit more for them therefore i want to get a couple extra bucks because once i learn about an
item that's used for modding uh i tend to make it a little bit more because it's harder to find
you're not going to find them anywhere else.
I'm sure you will.
I'm sure other people sell them.
But they usually sell them for a lot more.
I just want a couple bucks more.
So instead of making $2, I make $4.
Or something small like that.
So.
Once in a blue moon, I'll have something that's much higher.
But not even that.
Compared to how other people do it.
Maybe I'll have something that's special.
For like $25.
For a little small part.
That's sometimes.
And then people best off me anyway.
So it doesn't really matter.
But I got rid of all.
Discounts right now. And it's really helped out i do have a coupon for anything over 75 dollars
so that's helped i think that's why i sold a couple bigger things with that big discount
did that for New Year's.
I'm probably going to keep that one.
It may not be as much.
Maybe like 15%.
Over $75, though.
And then everything else is either
at the listed price
or you
best offer me.
But only a few bucks, so I'll best off.
Oh, there's my paper.
I see it.
I see my paper. Oh my god
Now I got a full stock of paper
So let's
Move on here
So my other spring latch
I've been using the same cartridge in my printer forever.
And I try to get every inch of ink I can get out of it.
It's,
it's a,
it's not an ink jet of God.
No,
it's,
it's a laser printer,
but it's a cheap,
it's a cheaper HP one.
I've had forever.
It's always worked.
I get the cheap inkjet,
uh,
cartridges for it.
Not inkjet,
uh, laser. And then when I do is you take them out you shake them toners that's what they call them laser toners
ink toners and then I get the cheap ones on eBay and I get two for the
price if I bought an original one over at Staples so again it's a little guy
you gotta try to cut corners wherever
possible so i run it what those do the hb will say it's out of ink but i still can get like another
like two or three hundred prints even though it's telling me it's out of ink so you never go by that
you go by it's still printing and then even when it starts to half print I take the toner out and I
shake it around and put it back in and it works for another 30 pages just pages
so I never give up on it to the complete end until it's finally printing out
where the Postal Service can't read it and I gotta change the ink of toner yeah I got rid of ink chips years
ago just black and white and this little HP's been just plugging along it's a
small one so it doesn't take up a lot of space it does have a scanner to it you
don't need a fax anymore so they don't have those anymore.
So those little things you can do to try to keep printing off of one toner for god I probably do a thousand prints off one toner which is wonderful.
Then I had the keyboard so my last keyboard so luckily I have a box that will fit them.
Because Commodore 64 was oversized.
It's bigger than normal things.
The 128 is even bigger.
Wider.
So therefore my boxes have to fit the object.
And.
Oh the item.
I should say not the object.
The item.
So. oh the item I should say not the object the item so open that
so it's good to know
I have extra I just ordered some other boxes
that are
these boxes are 16 inches
wide
which is enough to fit the Commodore keyboard,
so I can use the box I have.
It's like a 16 by 6 by 4 or something.
I was using it for something else at the time,
but now I've been using it for those.
I just ordered 18 by 12 by 4s
for some of the other stuff that I can't fit in those. So every once in a while
I invest in some sort of a newer size box. Boxes are key. Most get bigger boxes I can like this was a set I
ordered boxes are expensive a lot of a lot of my like 25 for 50 bucks or
something so box gets added into that shipping cost.
That's if it's a bigger item.
Even the little boxes are expensive.
You can buy the hundreds and they're still, you know, $40 or so.
So you can do that per box.
There's still some extra amount in there.
So everything. So my new boxes will be coming in so that
gives me two more inches I got 18 by 12 says 60 I think I should do it if you
get too big of a box then postal service charges you more so lots of stuff going on there
I was getting
either a refund
or a charge
per
any over
overweight or underweight
but I haven't seen that in a while
or maybe it's just happening and I just don't see it
sometimes you don't weigh it correctly.
Or if I did not enough, the size isn't long enough,
then they'll charge me more extra.
So I'm not really sure where that is.
All right, so that's all my things this morning.
Today I'm going to do Xbox One. We'll go into some more technical
stuff and see what chat GBT comes out. My buddy Zippy for a boot process. We'll do all
the main three there. The 1540, the S1681 and the X1787. So I can learn a little bit
more about them. And I have to do some videos this morning.
I'm going to test Xbox 360,
the Jasper, the one I need to get out for my buddy,
for the guy that I got to send a replacement to him.
So I'm going to do that first thing.
And then we're going to the holiday weekend.
Holiday weekend, yeah, pretty much.
All right, you guys have a good afternoon,
and I'll talk to you later on.
All right, bye.
