Good morning everyone. It is now 521. So yesterday was another day I didn't get a chance to do a mid-afternoon podcast.
I'm still in trying to think of what I'm going to do there. I always do one in the morning because it helps me wake up.
So yesterday I was with my mother for a while. We go to, we've always been going to
Well she does and I help her out when needed
Food pantries
So we've been getting food from food pantries
We live here in Rhode Island
But we're right on the border of Connecticut
So we can also get some
There's a food pantry we go to in Connecticut
And in Rhode Island
So yesterday I spent a few hours with my mother Going to the food pantry pantry we go to in Connecticut and in Rhode Island so and that's so yesterday
I spent a few hours with my mother going to the food pantries she's getting older
it's easier for me to take to go with her and then I help her put everything
in the car she goes in and does her thing and I kind of wait or I'll come in
sometimes so food pantries has always been a big part of our lives uh
and going going forward if i'm someday on my on my own then i will use the same process for myself
going to look to i'm signed up for those same food pantries so uh i will use those
the same way but i'll be doing it myself. So I spent some of that with her yesterday.
And then I found a cool Lenovo computer at one of the food pantry.
It has a thrift shop in it.
And I was thrift shopping, and I saw it, and it was really cheap.
And I was like, oh, I'm definitely going to get this.
So I picked up a Lenovo desktop.
It's almost like a laptop pretty much but it has a disk drive
and i i want to make a virtual machine for some of the older my older games on it so i've been
looking for one and so now i can set that one up with a virtual like windows 95 virtual computer
on it i'm gonna learn how to do that and put it on that lenovo it's pretty cool i have two other smaller ones that are like i7 and i9 this one is a amd actually my second amd uh cpu now this one here on my
elite book is the razor pro which is pretty cool so so yeah so i set that up at the end of the day yesterday.
I also listed some of my, last of my Atari 5200 motherboards.
I had three more of the four port.
I listed those yesterday before I went and helped my mother out for a few hours.
Well, actually, it helps us both out, not just her.
So, we got lots of stuff.
Food pantries, you can always find lots of good stuff.
And we've always used them forever.
That I can remember.
So, it's a big part of what we do here.
Again, we basically live order by order. and whatever my mother gets for her it all goes
towards the house and then we just try to survive just like everybody else does pretty much all
right so let's see what's going on this morning here i'm gonna list uh some more
uh stuff here so there so more government stuff going on you know that's gonna be lots of people going there trying to see if there's anything else oh the uh new samsung galaxy
s25 comes out on the 8th it's already said it's had the most pre-orders ever i unfortunately
could not afford to get that and again i saw really no difference between the S20 that I had forever. And then I managed to find an S24 with a Wi-Fi issue.
It was half the price.
And I saw really no big difference except for the camera, which is what I really needed anyway.
So that definitely helped out.
I use that all the time, my S24.
So we'll see what the S25 is about.
I'll wait another year or so.
Maybe I can find one half price with a Wi-Fi issue.
I use them as little mini computers.
Not necessarily.
I don't really need it for a phone.
I don't really talk to anybody on the phone.
Nobody really calls.
So other than needing to get the text for certain programs or websites that you go to.
Like if you go to the bank or something you have to get a text
to to what they call it second security so that's really the only reason you need to use a phone
before pretty much all right so let's check out my etsy here see what we got going on oh we got
an order yay i got one big order let's see what else we got I had to return some but
okay well I've been selling those cables lots of those cables the Sega Dreamcast
cable one of them which is cool do that one in a minute
again it's the Dreamcast it's the cable for the power button uh i've sold so many of those
and i found the rest of the ones i had which wasn't many but i had a few more left so we um
i've been listing those so we'll get another one of those lists another one sold today so my new computer here has a has two USB C's well I have a connection
for it somewhere I gotta convert my I need one two USB C's I need to convert
one to two regular USB I have those little teeny converter things because
my other two USB,
and then it has two regular
USB spots.
I don't know where that converter is now.
Bummer.
Because my other two spots are full right now.
One's got my speaker here,
my mic rather,
and then I have my trackball.
I have one.
So I've got to convert those
to find the converter so I can print out
my orders in a few minutes. But we'll move on
to, let's go to my RSS
feed. So I've only been down
to one podcast in the morning.
But we'll come up with some second one.
Just so I've been really one just the last two days are
and then I
kind of I think I'm going to go on the Sega Master
I don't think I did the cartridges for those
so we'll check those out
I probably haven't had
much analysis
three downloads
so I'm still at 365
all time 110 in the last
but we'll get more stuff going
again I sometimes just have
to lots of dots around the country
which is always really cool
Canada
United Kingdom
so again this is always
a message in a bottle
across the internet ocean wherever it may go
which is really fun.
I'll try to do more stuff, and I'll try to keep it gaming related as much as I can.
So, the last couple of days, I had to kind of take a break for a minute.
But we'll come up with a lot of other stuff.
I'm going to do all controllers, see how controllers work,
and see if I get more detail on other parts of each gaming system as we go here. But we'll always come up with some idea. taking a day off the day before.
Let's see.
Let's see my YouTube here.
We were climbing.
I have to significantly cut back on any sort of promoting.
I've been doing little $5 promotions,
but it's about really I can afford anymore.
So we went up to 16,757 subscribers.
My income went up to $27.27.
We never see it go any higher than $30 usually for the whole month.
For some reason, it's still showing.
I think it's for the last two days maybe it is.
Not sure how it goes.
My rebuild down the street still
got a lot of views.
Four months in
I made $100. It's got a few views.
My Atari port
had a lot of views too so that's cool so now just I did oh I did my yesterday I did a my video when I got
brought my Lenovo home from the thrift store we did a nice long video on
testing it I factory reset it and something updates you can't get to a windows 11 uh it only had four gigabytes
of ram so i ordered a stick of 16 gigabyte which was pretty cheap ddr4 so when that comes in maybe
i can get to 16 i mean maybe i can get to windows 11 not sure it's usually a processor if it's not
a certain processor and it won't go to windows 11 so we'll see what happens
so i had a few few views on that let's see what kind of views i had yeah i had a few views again
without promoting usually if i don't promote anything uh if i do a video maybe i'll get 20
views 30 28 views uh so if i throw like five bucks at it, then I'll go up to a few hundred or more, maybe even a thousand.
So it's a big difference between promoting and not promoting for me.
But it doesn't, again, have any bearing on monetizing at all.
It's more just to gain some more subscribers and fun stuff.
So I just kind of have to leave it at that all right so let's go on to um ebay see what we got going on this morning i always have
to take a breath here because you never know i have two returns uh one sale it looks like. Let's see. Any messages?
No.
Somebody asked me about a Nintendo GameCube
black top cover
distray.
He wanted me to send him
an exact picture of one I would ship,
so I did that for him.
Oh, and I never
heard back.
Let's see.
Oh, it's
buttons. Oh, so I sold
some buttons for the
Sega Dreamcast
Model 3.
So that's a small mini. So there's three minis. This is the Model 3 for the Sega Dreamcast Model 3. So that's the small mini.
So there's three minis.
There's the Model 3 for the Sega Genesis.
There's the top loader for the NES.
That's the original mini.
And then the Super Nintendo has a mini,
original one.
Or they call them a junior or the mini.
I call them mini,
but not the modern mini,
but the original junior.
So the Sega Genesis also has a Model 3 which is
a small version
and I sold
some power button boards
the power
there's two, not boards, just the power buttons
off of the top case
things like those little things that we sell
so
let's see, we got a couple off of the top case. Things like those little things that we sell. So,
let's see.
We got a couple feedback.
We're at 16,
1,602 feedback.
Thank you very much.
It worked for me.
Excellent friend in my two Ataris.
So, I gave them,
I sold them two At's that worked and that
worked but they needed they needed work a terrific buyer many things so that's
my Zelda cap that I got another one is item as described a plus seller for the logo strip uh which i shipped arrived quickly well packed um item i described
uh this one just needed had a bad fuse okay so it's a little bit the board was a bit grungy but
it wasn't that bad so then i ordered a couple things oh i have my let's check out i have an ibm 5153 coming in that was my
purchase for the month i break it up into payments of four payments so i can afford
something like that was real expensive but i have an ibm 5155 that needs a 5153 which is a color
monitor for the ibm and all that old vintage stuff it's really the hardest part of all of it is
finding the monitors that will work for whatever same with apple apple's got different monitors
from different generations and one doesn't fit the other it's a real pain in the buns
but uh there is also an ibm 51 51 that's uh not a collar, which was much cheaper.
But I wanted the collar one.
So I broke another payment and it's on its way.
Let's see where that is.
It's still in Texas.
So I got this from Texas.
So when I ship to Texas, it takes forever to get there.
So for him, it's UPS.
So we'll get it sometime uh what's today tuesday i don't know wednesday it's wednesday right yeah so we'll get it in a few days
maybe by the weekend so that'll be and then i can test out my and then i ordered a nintendo uh
zelda cosplay. Airmuffs.
It makes you look like Link.
It's pretty funny.
I'm looking for another silly hat to put on.
I'll do another one on one.
When that comes in.
And I tested out my other.
Toshiba laptop.
Which did not power on.
It had some RAM in it. 64 megabytes of RAM in it.
Pretty cool. Kingston. Old Kingston RAM. So I ordered a second. uh it had some ram in it 64 megabytes of ram in it pretty cool uh kingston old kingston ram
so that and so i ordered a second laptop for parts but that one doesn't says no power either so
so between the two maybe someday i'll get one to that working and then i ordered that 16 gigabytes
ram it's really cheap like 16 bucks or something. 16 gigabytes for the... I learned yesterday that 16 gigabytes 2R times 8 is better than 1R times 16.
I never knew that.
And, of course, I learned that from my buddy Zippy.
And it's a PC4-2666V.
And it's a RAM Excel. I already had a RAM Excel in mine, so it's a RAM Excel. So, I already had a
RAM Excel in mine, so I ordered
another RAM Excel.
And tracking available, that was
shipped too, so that's cool. So everything was
shipped. It's coming right from New York. Well, it wasn't really
shipped technically. The label was printed
anyway. So that'll be fun.
So we'll be able to upgrade my new
Lenovo, which
I think was pretty much brand new out of the box.
You can see the video yesterday.
Took it out of the box.
We looked inside, checked out the RAM slots,
and it's got a Wi-Fi board, almost like a laptop in there.
The board's really small.
It is small form, but not nowhere near as small as my Elitebooks.
But it has a disk drive, so now i can use that as a virtual machine um that's what i'm gonna do with it so i'm definitely gonna keep it
i paid a few bucks for it at a thrift store it was a score i mean i looked on ebay they were
significantly they weren't that really high price but a lot more than what i paid i paid a quarter
of what they're selling for on eBay.
And it's Lenovo.
I never really had a Lenovo.
I had an older Lenovo laptop for a little while, and then I sold that.
That was pretty cool.
I got some of the other Lenovo power adapters and docks that I'm going to resell.
I don't think they work, or I'm not sure if they work.
So anything Lenovo, you know, IBM, Lenovo,
all those are all real expensive stuff.
It's supposed to be, but HP has come a long way.
Like I said, I just got this HP Elitebook,
and it's really fun,
except for the keyboard.
It doesn't really work that well,
and the screen is black and white, basically.
But I bought it that way
because it was so much cheaper
than trying to get one i don't want to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars especially i
won't spend thousands of dollars on a computer because in the end of the day computers of each
generation just do the same thing if you have a windows 95 no matter what you put it on it's still
windows 95 so this this leap book gave me a windows 11 which i didn't have my other uh elite books were
a little bit older and they would only do windows 10 but in the end of the day lindsay's 10 windows
11 tomato tomatoes it's the same thing again you go into the internet and your i do ebay etsy uh
youtube so no matter if it's you know a $25 computer
or you know
if some people have spent thousands of dollars on computers
they do the same thing
it may do a little faster like this Elitebook is a little bit quicker loading
it does have Wi-Fi 6
and my modem
I have a Cox cable
and it does connect to Wi-Fi 6
although these do not
this is my second one that does not have an Ethernet connection to it.
So it totally is, because I would have connected it by Ethernet.
So I've been really into anything vintage computing,
even more so now than gaming,
although I am going to go back. Finish up Atari.
And then I have Sega CD.
Motherboards and other parts to list.
Then I have Intellivision 1 and 2.
Motherboards and other parts to list.
Things I've done videos for just recently.
And I have Magnavox 2
motherboards
and other parts to look at
so all those three I went through a little bit
I found my games for
Sega CD so I can go back to those
so I'll probably do Sega CD I think
for videos
and I think I want to do Sega Master
and look at some
like Sega the early Mark 3, those were before the Sega Masters.
And then there's the SG-1000 or the SG-1100, those are from Europe.
So we'll look at some of those.
And the Sega Power Base has the slot cards and it has the cartridges.
Slot cards hold less megabytes than the cartridges do.
So we'll kind of, I'll pick that for my thing today.
And then I'm going to, also I found that whole stash of GameCube lens assemblies.
So I found a whole stash.
I'm really excited about that.
I already sold one thing for it.
So I got lots of more spindles to sell.
I'll have laser boards.
I got to get those listed.
Those are really, really hard to sell because I'll test them working,
and then a buyer will get them, and it won't work for them.
So those are hard to sell. So I don't jump out and sell those but i will i may even put up a whole
complete lens assembly and sell it because i got at least three two or three and i'm sure i can
make a lot more all right so you guys have a good afternoon and i will be back later on today
i'm gonna do some sega stuff The early Sega. Power Base and the
Mark 3s and whatnot. Alright, so you guys have a good afternoon. I'll talk to you then.
Alright, bye.
