Alright, so we're going to talk 3,000-4,000 hours on YouTube here, and the novice, honest truth about it.
Because I see lots of stuff in there on YouTube and stuff, saying how quick you can make that many hours.
But hold on, we're going to talk about it in a second.
And I'll do a little podcast while we're doing it.
And then I already picked out my subject for a system today for podcasts. Hold on, we're going to talk about it in a second. And I'll do a little podcast while we're doing it.
And then I already picked out my subject for a system today for podcasts.
I'll do that after.
We're going to call this little one.
Hold on, it takes me a minute to get.
I'm putting up a live feed too.
So I multitask. I do different things at the same time.
Trying to do as many things as possible to get to the 3,000, 4,000 hours.
So hold on.
Let me just finish doing this.
And this is going to be called.
This is The Novice Truth.
The Novice. I'm typing in for my live feed here. So live feed vertical. So you need the 4,000 hours to get monetized.
There's a really
big however on there.
We're going to talk about that.
But,
so the novice honest truth about
getting the 4,000 hours, getting
I got rid of the word the.
Getting 4,000 hours, getting, I got rid of the word the, getting 4,000 hours,
but,
be careful what you wish for.
Or, no, I should be careful.
Be careful.
Be, yeah, that's wrong.
Hold on. Be careful. Be careful. That's wrong. Hold on. Be careful.
I got that spell wrong. I'll get in there.
Be careful.
Be careful
what
you hope
for.
Okay.
That's what we're going to do.
The title of this is
The Novice Honest Truth
About Getting 4,000 Hours.
But be careful
what you hope for.
Because there's a big however there.
It's pretty dramatic.
Actually, it was for me anyway.
I don't know
how other people do it so we're going to post that now so i'm doing a live feed on my phone
vertical which is key always i i do it on a webcam too but i'm not going to do it on this one i'm
doing the podcast instead so and i really never get any and i don't get any views on my over
overview so we're going to do a couple
things here all right so let's give a second to see what we're going on here so i got the podcast
going so let's talk about youtube i see so many videos of all the professionals what i am is a
novice i like being a novice it's more fun I'm going to give you the honest truth about what it took me,
just a one-man makeshift kind of shop and a channel to get 4,000 hours.
So no matter what you read about that, maybe there is a way to do it,
but it was so hard to get to 4,000 hours.
First, you have to get to 3,000 hours.
I ended up having to do over like 7,000 videos well maybe my content just doesn't hold doesn't hold people that long so
maybe that's why it took so long but before in the beginning when I first started doing I didn't
know any little tricks there's some new tricks i've learned that have increased my um subscribers that was a key and then i added iq which is a like an off-site kind of thing you can
add seems to help but the thing is with me so the 4 000 hours took me about six months
of really hard work and a bunch and thousands of videos some some sites
some places channels say don't put a lot of videos on i don't know but i'm just doing videos anyway
so i decided to do videos while i was doing my gaming stuff and selling on ebay so it kind of
went hand in hand but then as i could see uh when i finally hit the first
3 000 mark it was real exciting you don't really get much when you get to 3 000 you kind of get
into monetize but then you really don't because nobody's gonna really write uh sign up for your
channel or anything like that so kind of get you there there There's a super chat, but I never really got into that yet.
So there was a little bit of a rush when I made it to 3,000.
I was like, oh, cool.
And then from 3,000 hours watched.
So it's got to be in a 365-day period.
So that means you're always got to be,
the hours have got to be behind you too, including in front of you.
I now have over 10,000 hours viewed.
So, to finally get to the 4,000, it just happened two weeks ago or a week ago.
And it was such an adrenaline rush.
And I guess I just had this expectation.
I'm not sure where it came from, what I was thinking.
But be careful what you hope for when you get to the 4 000 hours
because because because i've made 14 dollars since uh i've made the 4 000 hours and i think i've
i've got at least almost another thousand subs and hours are always i'm still doing lots of hours viewed
and always putting tons of video so the point of this video and this um
podcast is the fact that do not expect anything i just don't know what i was thinking i was
thinking maybe like a hundred dollars a day or a couple hundred bucks a week I'd stop making. I've made $14.29 so far.
So I actually even opened up a GoFundMe page, connected to my podcast and to this just to ask for a little extra help because I put so much time and effort and I'm just not getting paid at all, nothing.
So the other thing that happens is when you get to the 4 000 hours
you become monetized but what that does is that brings commercials into your into your videos
therefore people don't watch them they they click out and then so therefore you don't get a view
so you kind of it's it's counterproductive it's kind of like a pickle you you're getting you you
now can get monetized and the commercials count,
but yet people see them so they don't stay on or they just skip them.
Therefore, anytime someone views something,
if you even get a commercial charge or a price,
it's like cents, like one cent, two cent, three cents per view.
So it was really disappointing.
I was super, super bummed out.
But I put all the work into it, so we're just going to keep going.
So since then, I've added a podcast.
So I'm trying to fill, if you look on the, or it says content, on the content screen here.
I'm trying to fill, I filled all the subjects.
Videos, I have tons, thousands of videos.
I have shorts, I've got thousands of shorts.
Live videos, I do them every day.
However, I just learned in the last three months about vertical phone shorts being the key.
Although nobody can really see on it, so I don't really quite understand it. So vertical phone shorts being the key. Although nobody can really see on it,
so I don't really quite understand it.
So vertical phone shorts.
Posts is where you, I do those as well.
It's the posting a video to all your subs
so they can see it directly.
So my subs have gone up significantly.
2,436.
I've gotten 625 in the last 28 days.
So I'm not sure if that's because I added that IQ thing.
Which is still on a...
IQ is still on trial.
I can't really afford to keep it going.
But the trial might have helped.
So this is IQ over here.
So... keep it going but the trial might have helped so this is iq over here uh so it's mostly stats and stuff all right so then playlists i don't really have a playlist
but now i do because i just started a podcast um a couple days ago actually and that was quite
it took me a while to learn how to do it how to make a actually i had
to go through all the ingredients i guess you could say to make a podcast just to be able to
just start doing it it's actually complicated but i managed to figure it out and then promotions so
promotions i think really really helped me out and i touched on the other day is even if you just do
like a couple dollars like i'm doing promotions at like four or
five dollars uh i did one way back when for how much was that one forty dollars but again if i
make it fourteen dollars i can't be doing forty dollar promotions to make fourteen it doesn't
really make any sense so so i started throwing like little dollar bills out and promotions. And I hit one or two that gave me lots of views, promotions.
And I got a lot of subs.
But again, I'm not sure if it's a combination of the $5 promotions.
Right now I'm on another $3 promotion.
It's gotten me 6,000 views.
As opposed to normally I get like two.
So if I can put up a couple bucks and hang in there, maybe it'll work out.
But the podcast was my last, I guess you could say, hope
to try to make some money down the road maybe.
I don't know.
eBay is my only income income it's been really slow
and been really struggling with ebay lately i had to do huge discounts just to try to um make a
make uh pay the bills that's all i really i'm not a money guy at all i just like to pay the bills
and and have a little fun um so i've really put in a lot of time in youtube and it's still fun i have tiktok as well
i think i have 35 3600 people on tiktok but i'm afraid it's not going to survive so i don't want
to invest in that as well but i do put videos there just like the ones here on youtube
and i also do it on instagram which i think I have 45 people. And Instagram is really weird because you can barely upload anything on Instagram.
See, someone's got me in, I just saw, a message in a different language.
I only know English.
I'm sure I could translate it.
So, the expectations for me, for us as a novice to get to a 4000 is really, really hard.
Really hard.
What's that?
Are they really done?
Alright.
Alright, so.
Come back to that and I feel a little bit
hold on let me
so that'll be a little thing
about
podcast
4000 hours
so
