Alright, so today was a really good day.
However, I didn't do anything with video.
Maybe one of the first days I haven't videoed anything on YouTube.
I'm starting to think maybe I'm just over videoing it.
It's kind of like repeating the same thing and the results really haven't changed.
But we'll keep plugging away at it.
So this is my...
I'm going to do a little more
the story I started.
I did
GameCube earlier today.
So that's a fun system. I can sit and talk about GameCube
all day long.
So many things I've done
and learned from GameCube over the years.
And parts of, again, number one
by far
so let's go back to my buddy
here
my chat
and
let's read a little bit more of the story
he made for me
I'm still working on the character
the story
name is
Project Journeyman.
I have another idea down the road.
Oh, no.
I might not be able to do it.
Let's see if I can do it.
I thought I logged off.
Okay.
Now I'm back.
Yay.
All right.
So we're writing a book idea so I gotta go back to that
conversation and we'd I had upgraded what I did I kept adding new new
features to the story so the last version I read was still not quite well it's still got a long way to go
obviously so he tried to see so I think we were going to do
his backstory.
Earthman.
Let's see.
Earth's mankind destruction of itself.
Destruction. So that's the
backstory of what's going on on Earth.
What exactly is the
crisis on Earth?
What is the goal for Project
Journeyman? So these are questions
he was asking when
I told him to slow down for the
story.
Let's see.
Dusty's Backstory
in Context of
Earth's Crisis.
So we'll do step three,
which is Dusty's Backstory
with Earth's Crisis.
A world in decline.
Earth is in a dire state.
Decades of environmental neglect have led to widespread
crisis natural disasters are depleting rapidly climate change has ravaged ecosystems and food
and clean water are becoming increasingly scarce governments are struggling to maintain control of societies, start to break down.
People are losing hope.
So this is the back story, the journeyman of how Earth is at the time,
which is pretty much how most of these stories end up anyway.
Humanity on the edge.
With each passing year, the situation worsens. Food shortage led to conflict.
Large swathes of land
become uninhabitable.
And humanity is facing
faced with
terrifying possibilities
of extinction.
Scientists and world leaders have
desperately seeked a solution, some way to
secure a future for
humanity. secure a future for humanity, even if it means looking beyond Earth.
Dusty's backstory in the context of Earth's crisis.
Dusty's struggling amid the crisis.
Dusty has spent his life watching things fall apart, both personally and globally. The
world around him has always seemed erratic, but in the recent years it's gotten worse.
The streets are less safe, people are more desperate. The sense of hopelessness is everywhere.
Dusty's personal struggles with addictions, crime, and loss have
been amplified by the harsh realities of the world he lives in.
The turning point. Dusty finds himself in trouble with the law again.
Caught up in a scuffle over limited supplies.
Desperate people fighting over what little is left.
He's facing jail time
or another stint in rehab,
either of which seems
to hope,
offer any hope, a way out.
A choice in a
hopeless world.
During this time, Dusty is
approached by a government official.
Project Journeyman is not public knowledge.
It is a last-ditch effort by a coalition of scientists and leaders
who are determined to extend humanity's reach beyond the confines of a dying Earth.
They are recruiting people with nothing left to lose people
like dusty who might be willing to take one more trip into the unknown
all right let's see how's my so I do this reading in bed so it's kind of
little difficult I found a different mic so I can get it kind of close to me here.
All right.
Why Dusty Grease?
Dusty listens to their pitch.
They tell him that Earth is on the borrow time.
Humanity might not survive much longer unless they find new options beyond their crumbling world.
They need people willing to go out there, to leave Earth behind,
and be part of something that could give the human race a chance,
even if it's a slight one.
Dusty sees this as an opportunity to finally escape a life of failure.
He doesn't see himself as a hero,
but he does see this as his one chance to do something that matters.
Something that might make all the mistakes and pain worth it.
Dusty's motivation.
Leaving a fresh start.
Dusty agrees to join the project, Journeyman.
He knows there's no coming back.
He doesn't want to come back.
Earth is falling apart and there's no coming back. He doesn't want to come back. Earth
is falling apart and there's nothing left for him here. The mission offers
Dusty the chance to leave it all behind, to start fresh, to contribute to
something that might actually matter. He's not motivated by glory or
recognition. He's motivated by hope that and leave everything be
far behind he might find peace or at the very least purpose beacon of hope the
idea of becoming part of a mission that could bring humanity hope that could
serve as a beacon to something better, resonates with Destiny, Dusty.
He doesn't expect to save the world.
He doesn't even expect to survive for long.
But he thought that the journey might mean something to the future,
gives him the strength to move forward.
Questions to develop further.
What's the actual crisis on Earth?
What's the goal of Project Journeyman?
So as I was doing this little story here,
I had to add Earth to have some sort of a mankind-driven destruction.
So, the state of the earth.
Mankind's self-destruction.
Humanity's actions have led to the near collapse of the world as we know it.
Decades of unchecked industrial expansions, environmental exploitations, and discred for sustainability have taken their toll.
Earth's resources are
nearly depleted. The forests
are destroyed. Oceans are polluted.
The climate change has made
much of the planet uninhabitable.
But it
wasn't just environmental neglect.
It was also conflict,
greed, the inability to
cooperate that accelerated humanity's downfall.
War and conflict.
In the struggle for the remaining resources, countries went to war.
Conflict broke out all over access to clean water, land, and dwindling energy supplies.
The wars, both large and small, further ravaged the planet,
leaving behind devastation that no one could escape.
Society started to break down.
Humanity's lost, worst traits were laid bare, greed, violence,
and a desperation to survive at any cost.
The world on a brink.
By the time Project German was conceived,
Earth was on the brink of complete collapse.
Government was in disarray, society was unraveling,
and there was no longer any settlements of order.
People lived in fear.
Fear of violence, of starvation,
of what each day might bring
to Earth.
One's vibrant and full life
had become a hostile place
shaped by humanity's worst
impulses.
Dusty's life amid
the collapse.
A product of a broken world. Dusty's life amid the collapse. A product of broken world. Dusty Camden grew up in this crumbling world. He saw the destruction unfolding firsthand. The forest that once surrounded his
town turned into barren wastelands. The rivers that were once clean and full of life
reduced to pollution streams.
The chaos and fears that permeated society
pushed Dusty into a life of poor choices.
In a world that seemed to be falling apart,
it was easy for him to fall into addictions and petty crime,
to lose hope that anything could even be better. Personal struggles amplified by desperation.
Dustin's personal struggles with addiction and his time in jail were only made worse by the world around him. Opportunities were scarce, and hope was even scarcer.
When his mother passed away, Dusty felt like he had truly lost everything.
The one person who kept him grounded was gone.
There was no one left to care whether he lived or died.
The Offer from Project Journeyman.
An unexpected chance
in a hopeless world.
It was another run-in
with the law that
Dusty was given a choice.
The world in chaos
and the authorities had little patience
for people like Dusty.
But instead of sending
him back to jail,
he was approached by someone with an offer, Project Journeyman.
The project was humanity's last attempt to reach out into the universe,
to send someone beyond Earth with a beacon and a hope that something,
someone out there might hear it.
Not a hero's choice, but a way out.
Dusty wasn't given much time to decide.
He could either remain on Earth, face more of the same,
a life without purpose, a world crumbling around him,
or he could leave.
The mission was dangerous.
Outcome uncertain.
It was a one-way trip.
But Dusty, it was only a real choice. Staying meant more pain,
more regret, and more same hopelessness. Leaving offered a chance to a fresh start, to escape not only his own mistakes, but also to make mistakes of all mankind. Dusty's motivation to leave, a fresh start away from mankind's failures.
Dusty didn't see Project Journeyman as an adventure or a way to be remembered.
He saw it as a chance to finally break free. He wanted to leave behind not just his own failures, but also the failures of humanity, the wars, the greed, the destruction that turned Earth into a hostile wasteland.
And spaced, drifting into the unknown, Dusty hoped to find some settlements of peace, a place where he could be free from the burden of everything that had gone wrong on Earth. The hope of redemption.
Deep down, Dusty also hoped that
by leaving he could be something good.
Maybe his journey might change anything for the people
left behind. And maybe it might mean that
humanity had tired, that in the end
someone had reached out into the stars. Even if
it was just one man and a drifting capsule.
It wasn't about saving the world. It was about knowing
they had finally done something that mattered. Even if no one
else ever knew his name.
Questions to explore further.
What exactly is the purpose of Journeyman now?
Is it a last-ditch effort?
Simply a symbolic gesture?
What does he think about the future? simply a symbolic gesture.
What does Dusty think about the future?
This version makes Dusty's decisions feel more urgent and driven by the collapsing Earth world.
This is some
suggestion. So that's where I've gotten so far.
How about we pick one element of Journeyman and develop it thoroughly.
I told Zippy here to slow down and let's break it down a little bit. Because the overview is pretty cool so far.
So pick one element.
One.
Focus on Dusty.
Dive into his mindset.
Motivation. What drives him
to finally make the choice to leave.
Develop the Earth crisis.
Define exactly what
happens on Earth. Making it vivid
so it sets the stage for what
Journeyman is necessary.
Project's purpose.
Decide what Journeyman really
aims to accomplish its
exploration survival or sending a message so that's as far as I got let's
just play around for just a couple minutes here so I'm gonna say it's told it to that and one of the so let's focus on dusty so now I'm just
let's focus on dusty so we'll come up with so we would have to be some sort of a story where there's flashbacks.
Great Tom.
Let's focus on Dusty and really dig into his mindset, motivations, and drives.
I like that.
Zippy, you can always remember where you are.
But you have to stay within that same.
Let's see what he's doing here.
You have to stay within the same thread that you were doing
alright
so it's kind of as close as I can get to
making a book
a lot of it might be returning
great town focusing on
Dusty Camden
in depth character exploration
mindset emptiness and regret Dusty's life In-depth character exploration Mindset
Emptiness and regret
Dusty's life has been filled with mistakes
Wrong choices
That led him nowhere
After losing his mother
He felt a profound emptiness
As if he had lost the last person
Who truly cared about him
He constantly battles regret
Over wasted opportunities Over pushing away people Who cared about him. He constantly battles regret over wasted opportunities, over pushing away
people who cared about him, and over the life he could have lived but didn't.
Isolation. Dusty has always felt a sense of isolation, but after his mother's death,
that feeling became even more intense.
Just lost where I was.
Let's see.
No, that's not it.
Sometimes I hit the button
and it goes way up.
Oh, there it was again. Sometimes I hit the button and it goes way up.
Oh, I lost it again.
Oh, there we go. I lost it. Dustin has also felt isolation. He has no family left, no friends,
and the world around him is in chaos.
He sees himself as a ghost moving through life,
but not really a part of it.
The sense of isolation makes him feel like there's nothing trying him to earth
and nothing worth staying for.
Disillusionment
with humanity.
Dusty has seen the worst of people.
He's witnessed the greed,
the violence, the destruction
that humanity has brought
upon him and the planet.
It's hard for him to believe in anything anymore.
He's tired of watching people fight over scraps.
Tired of seeing the Earth get worse every day.
Dusty's disillusionment fuels his desire to leave.
He wants to escape the constant reminders
of humanity's failures.
Motivations for leaving.
Escape.
For Dusty, Project Journeyman
is the ultimate escape.
It's not just a way
to leave
behind his mistakes. It's a way
to leave behind everything that reminds him
of them. On Earth, every day is a reminder.
Of what he's lost.
And what he's done wrong.
Leaving for a one way mission.
Into the unknown feels like a chance.
To finally.
Let all that weight go.
Go away.
A fresh start.
Dusty
Knows that Earth
That leaving Earth means
There's no coming back
But that's not what makes it appealing
On Earth it feels like
He's stuck in an endless cycle
Every time he tries to do better
Something pulls him back
Space represents a blank slate
No past No failures Just the possibility of something different That or something pulls him back. Space represents a blank slate.
No past, no failures, just the possibility of something different.
It's his chance to start fresh, even if it's out among the stars with no one else.
Doing something meaningful.
Deep down, Dusty wants to do something that matters.
He spent his life feeling like a failure,
like he's never contributed anything positive.
Project Journeyman is dangerous.
It's uncertain.
But it's also important.
It's humanity's last effort to reach Earth, beyond Earth.
And Dusty wants to be part of that.
He wants to be able to say that he did something with his life.
That he could take a risk, make a sacrifice, and contribute to something bigger than himself.
It's not about being remembered.
It's about feeling like his life had a purpose.
The moment of decision, the offer.
Dusty is approached with the offer to the Journeyman project.
Project Journeyman.
After getting into trouble once again.
He's sitting in a holding cell facing yet another stint in jail rehab.
Then he's given a choice.
The government official, someone with authority,
presents him with a different path,
a one-way mission into space,
a chance to leave behind everything.
It's not framed as an opportunity for redemption,
but as a choice between
more of the same or something completely different.
His thought process.
Dusty doesn't decide immediately.
He spends time thinking about it, weighing his options.
On one hand, there's nothing for him on Earth.
Just more disappointment.
More of the same.
On the other hand, the mission is risky,
and there's no coming back. But the more he
thinks about it, the more it appeals to him. He has nothing to lose, and maybe, just maybe,
he has something to gain, a sense of purpose, a chance to leave behind a different kind
of legacy. The final decision.
Dusty accepts the offer.
He walks away from everything he knows.
Not because he's brave and selfless, but because he's desperate for a new beginning.
He wants to be part of something that isn't about survival or destruction.
Something that's about hope.
Even if it's a slim, distant hope.
He's scared,
but for the first time in a long time,
he feels like he's making a choice
that might actually change something.
How Dusty feels
about leaving Earth.
Mixed emotions.
Dusty feels a
mixture of fear, relief,
and hope as he prepares to leave Earth, but he's afraid of the unknown, of what will happen when he's out there, alone.
But he's also relieved to be leaving behind a world that has brought so much pain to him.
The idea of drifting through space, away from everything that's gone wrong,
gives him a sense of peace, a sense of hope. Despite everything, Dusty feels a glimmer
of hope. It's not about saving the world or being a hero. It's about doing something
different, about breaking free of the cycle that defines his life.
He knows the mission is dangerous,
and that there's a good chance he won't make it very far.
The idea of Dara being part of something bigger
gives him hope that his life might finally mean something.
Okay, so what is what is
Dusty's biggest regret?
Does he regret not being
able to care for his mother
or something more personal?
So this is more going
to Dusty. Does he
envision him to drift forever
or does he hold on to the hope
that he might find something out there?
Even if it's just peace.
This is all about Dusty, what drives him.
How he thinks.
Why he makes the choices he did.
Let me know if this helps narrow
the focus.
Specific parts of Dusty's character
you'd like to deep dive
into.
We can talk about it slowly
and keep it refined.
I told him it was going too fast.
I said, is it going too fast?
Because I'd give one idea and then I'd get a storybook.
I still haven't
read most of it.
Alright, so we're going to stop it there.
And then next time I'll
go back to his...
We'll focus on the project itself.
Decide Project Journeyman's real goal.
What it's supposed to be.
Yeah, so we'll leave it at that so this is my project journey man
yeah
alright so I'm getting ready to go to bed
I'll see you guys in the morning
see what tomorrow brings
have a good night
