All right, so it is 122 in the afternoon. I decided to do a midday
Podcast and we're going to talk about
health issues
And we're going to talk about procedures. So today I had an endo cost
Endo cost committee done today like a colonoscopy
But an endo cost which means they go down your throat. So I want to talk
a little bit about the procedure. I had it done 9.45 this morning. It's pretty easy to
do so if you've ever not had endocostomy down your throat or a colonoscopy up your butt,
it's really easy and they knock you out so you don't know anything that's so quick and painless really. So let's go through the procedure I went through. So 945 I
got to the hospital. I only lived like literally five minutes from where I
lived to the hospital. So up to the third floor that's where the place is. I was
there at about break time. Went in the waiting room for about five minutes,
then they came and got me. And there's nothing more I find very soothing than the caring
of a nurse to take care of you, especially when you're not sick. So I really enjoy that.
So the nurse, you know, got me into the bed and we worked on blood pressure. We had to
get put an IV in because that's where they put that really nice medicine that knocked you out in and then eventually we
put a little little gurney thing on nice blankets and then we went through some
information. Then a little while later the anesthesiologist came in and I
can't say that word either. She came in and just said what she was going to be doing, putting me out
for a few minutes while they do the the tube. Then from there after that then the
nurse tried to put a IV in one arm and it didn't work out so then another nurse
came and put one on my in my hand. Look at those kind of hurt both of those times. That was the only pain was getting the IV
Stuck in your vein there. So we did that then it was a little bit of a relaxed time just hanging out
And before I know the doctor came over he's a new doctor here in town in West Philly
First time I've had him. I had a different doctor that used to do my colonoscopies
So I've already had four or five colonoscopies except some sort of a gastro issue but this is something new I've had in hot burn and a 57 so lots
of things go wrong and they can go wrong really fast really at any age so he came
over I just I just went to see him for the first time two days ago, but he had a
Appointment open for today to do this procedure. So the yeah, let's do it because I know it's pretty pretty easy
It's almost actually fun in some ways
At least I think it is anyway, so so he talked to me for a few minutes
He told me what he was gonna be doing doing, you know, do the procedure. And then after that, I'd say within 20 minutes or maybe even earlier, I was ready to go.
So they wheeled me over to a little procedure room.
And it's really cool when you go in, they bring you into the room, there's all these
electronics.
Of course, I love electronics and stuff.
So I'm looking all around.
There's a big thing is his anesthesia kind of machine
and all that stuff.
And so it's kind of, it's intimidating,
but I know I'm not really getting a real surgery done.
I've never, knock on wood, ever had a surgery at all.
This is probably the most procedure I've ever had done.
Colonoscopy probably a little bit more than this one.
So you go in the room,
then they start setting you up.
Gotta say your name and all that.
And then for the colonoscopy,
I would turn to the right side,
so your butt is towards the doctor.
But for this one, I'm turning to the left.
So I go to my left side, they give me a little gas,
oxygen mask, a little mouthpiece he put in there.
And then within a few minutes, the anesthetist, I can't say that word at all, says to me,
okay, get ready, come back to five. And then I was gone. And that was it. And
next thing I knew, I was starting to wake up and I'm, I see, I hear the doctor. I'm like,
I think I'm still awake.
He goes, don't worry.
You're already done.
All right.
So after that, within five minutes or so, I'm pretty much alert.
By within 20 minutes, I'm ready to go home.
No pain in my throat or anything.
So I would never have known somebody stuck something
down my throat.
And he went all the way down into, I think they go all the way down into your esophagus.
So what I, what I, what they found out with me is I've been having some hot burn.
So he's saying that I've got a little bit of tearing in my stomach, maybe an ulcer of
some kind.
So pral, pral, pralisac, I believe it's Ozympa.
And then I'm going to get my rest of my results. He did a couple biopsies.
Says it was a little bit scarring. So I'm going to follow up with the doctor later this week.
He's supposed to call me. So yeah, so if you get either one of
these done, if you've never done them, they're really easy. And there's just
something really soothing, not only about a nurse taking care of you before and
after the surgery. I mean, not surgery, but the procedure. But also the fact you get
to take a little time off from life for a few minutes when they knock you out. It's pretty exciting
I look forward to it. I don't know. It's just some something. I really enjoy that little few minutes of
Just feeling you can feel the stuff going in you and then that's it
I wonder if that's what it's like at the end. Are you pretty interested to think about it that way? So I had an upper GI
Edo Edo
Cosco be done and the doctor pained So I had an upper GI eduloscopy done.
And the doctor obtained a faster under direct division
through the procedure.
Blood pressure, everything was normal.
Wasn't induced with the mouth
and then advanced into the duodenum.
And then the upper GI was accomplished without difficulty.
The patient tolerated the procedure well.
So my esophagus is normal. The Z-line was regular and was found 40
centimeters from the inserters. Scattered mild inflammation characterized
by erosion and arrhythmia was found in the gastric atrium.
Virapsy were taken with a cold forceps
or helo papin testing.
Patchy mild mucus without active bleeding
and no stigma of bleeding was found in the duodenum bulb.
And a lot of these words are not the same, right?
But we're just giving you kind of a rundown of how my thing went.
Biopsy were taken with a cold freezing, so we got a couple different biopsies taken.
Multiple fused erosion without bleeding were found in the second part of the duodenum.
Biopsy were taken with a cold beer. So I got three different biopsies taken and then I also have Vodos too.
So it shows and it gives me numbers from where they went from one to 16 different places within my in my number one is the third of the estoppicus, two is the middle, then number three would
be the gastro something something.
I can't say a lot of words but you get the gist.
And then we go into some other ones.
So number five looks kind of weird, it's got some greenish things going on there.
A junction, there's another junction.
It's interesting to see the inside of your body
through the through a camera here. A gastro-inflammation, that's where he said the
inflammation was in number seven. That's where I'm saying number seven on my little chart here.
So way down, way down by past my stomach is where I have some inflammation.
stomach is where I have some inflammation in the bulb as well number 10 see what's my number 10 is number 10 is we are way down there so it looks
like true one through two down three esophagus it wasn't really anything going
on it's when I got down way below there found some stomach stuff nothing really but he didn't say that
anything definitely traumatic or but it's just interesting to see I'm looking
at all the photos as we're as I'm chatting with you here in regards to my
procedure done today gastroenterology so normal esophagus, this is the impression that he left me. Z-line
regular, 40 centimeters. The erosion of gastric biopsy, the ethyl something biopsy and then
the other erosion was biopsy. Recommended, resume previous diet. I don't really have the
best diet but it's alright. Continue present medications, await pathological
results, pathology results, and use Prilosec which I haven't started yet. So
that was my little procedure today. I really what I wanted to do but I thought
they'd think I was crazy. So I wanted to bring my phone and see if I can get them to video it. That would
be really cool. But I don't think I would have been able to. There's the signs everywhere
saying make sure you turn off your phone. I wasn't gonna use my phone. I just
wanted to use my phone for video and video the procedure. That would be really cool.
But I wasn't able to. I decided that that wasn't probably a good thing to ask. So I didn't.
But so that's my little thing here.
No big deal.
Hopefully everything looks fine.
I don't think there's anything major that I can see that's coming of it.
Or check the biopsies if anything changes.
We'll update you on that.
So that's my little thing here.
So if you've got one scheduled or you haven't done, if you have hot burn, make sure you got one scheduled or you haven't done if you have hot burn make sure you
get one scheduled that's why i was doing the podcast here just for anybody who's is afraid
to get a colonoscopy done no it's really easy they knock you out and also in this one here with
endoscopy oh i said it right endoscopy uh same deal then said it right. Endoscopy. Same deal. And actually, I think the last
time I did the endoscopy, I actually did the colonoscopy all at the same time. So it was
like a one-two punch, which is even better. You get them both done. And but the only problem
with the colonoscopy, you have to do all that really yucky prep, get flush your system out.
Whereas this, the endo, all I, with this one here, all I had to do
was just not eat a drink after midnight and nothing today. So that's easy. Although I was really hungry.
My appointment was at 9 45. By eight o'clock I was really hungry. My routine normally in the morning
is I go and get iced coffee and a treat when I get up after doing my orders. But
what I did is I got all my I had all this time and I couldn't eat so I made
sure I got all my orders done. So that's why you want me as your seller because I
even though I had a procedure coming up I got all my orders done from overnight
because most orders happen while I'm sleeping and I get up to orders and stuff like that and I also went to the post office and mailed them out before having my mother
take me over to this to get this procedure done and and then then of
course you have to have somebody pick you up so then she was there for about
three hours I want to say from the time I went So I got there until I get out. I was out of there by around
12 o'clock I went in around 930 so
Right around there. So that's my little thing. So just a little update
You're worried about getting one of these done one of the two. I
Wouldn't worry about it. It's pretty simple
Simple stuff everyone takes care of their
Really nice getting taken care of like that. So it's pretty cool.
All right. So that was my little mid-afternoon medical update. So I figured I would do a podcast.
I was going to do a video of it, but I was like, nah, I'm going to show you my
pictures of my inner that's coming out tomorrow. And I would have done a video
if I could have got them to do it there but There's so much procedure going on there
There's no way that someone's gonna sit there and hold the camera while they're watching me under anesthesia
So I didn't think that would happen. I know that was gonna happen. I would have liked to see that happen
I wasn't fun for you, too
But we'll do this instead. Alright, so that's what we did. And then we'll let you know if anything else changes.
Alright, I'll see you guys in a moment and I'll be back for my normal Groundhog Day.
Alright, bye.
