Starting point is 00:01:46 Welcome to the Greenlight podcast. Thank you for jumping in today. These are the NFL Week 5 reactions recorded live at Studio J. Nate's fresh up his visit to the Jacksonville Jaguars. He gives his recap of being on the field, seeing. Jackson Deville do the skydive, seeing Tom Coughlin, a wonderful weekend for him down in Jacksonville. And a good weekend for the state of Florida, Jacksonville and Miami both won. Then we get into the Bengals Ravens-AFC North matchup, an overtime game where Lamar Jackson turned
Starting point is 00:02:19 into Superman. The Bills Texans, a game that should have gone into overtime. But the Bills play calling at the end of regulation set the Texans up perfectly for a game-winning field goal. We talk Jaden Daniels and commanders against the Browns, Caleb Williams, great performance against the Panthers, a little bit of London with the Jets Vikings, and then we run through the 4 p.ms. And lastly, since we all had to wait about an hour and a half for the Sunday night football, Cowboy Steelers is at the end of the show today.
Starting point is 00:02:45 We get into our bed-MG-O moments. We'd a blast on this show. Please enjoy listening to it. We'll catch you on Wednesday. Guys, you notice the Phillies Cup. Nate said, get this out of here. He said that we're rooting for a subway series? Yes, that is the plan.
Starting point is 00:03:30 I think some people in the chat would call that the royal we because most people want to see the fills get through the next round. I'm not going to lie, I wasn't watching the game at all. Some people during the 4 p.ms were like, hey, Chris, the Phillies are on. I'm like, no shit. Do you know what I do for a living? Just because I love the city, don't get carried away. I'm not going to turn on baseball all the time because you want me to turn on baseball. Let's start with a question for people in the chat.
Starting point is 00:04:00 a poll is I get this layup line fired up. When somebody says turn the AC down, I understand. Is it like 15% of you that thinks like me and thinks that means like make it less cold? 15 or 20%? Who do you think? In the chat, me, I'm asking.
Starting point is 00:04:24 Because I can't speak English. You know, I can't put the words together. I was like, man, it's freezing in here. here, Reed, can you turn the AC down? Well, that's my fault. No, it's crazy. No, I didn't say freezing. I didn't say freezing.
Starting point is 00:04:38 It's not your fault. That's what we're trying to figure out how much my fault is it. Is it 80% my fault? Is it 85? How much colder did he make it? He made it a lot colder. Two degrees. Because I'm like getting ready for the show and I'm like, I'm always running cold and I was
Starting point is 00:04:52 like, oh my God, what the fuck? Did he turn the AC up? And you're right. The chat's all against me. Really? Yeah. You're right. I'm wrong.
Starting point is 00:05:00 No, you might be right, but you just might be in the minority of being right. It's kind of like being me with football takes sometimes. And I got people texting me left and right about this, that, and the third. We'll get to all these takes today. It is 50-50. It's 50-50. So people use the English language liberally and different. Let's get this show on the road.
Starting point is 00:05:22 Welcome to the show, everybody. There's so much to talk about. That 1 p.m. slate yesterday was insane. And you were living your life. I can't wait and talk to you about. Oh, man. It was crazy. You in that pool with your clothes on made my heart smile.
Starting point is 00:05:36 Bro. That was an amazing game. Just save it. Hold on a second. Okay. Here's our layup line today. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:05:47 Fin's up. Finns? Oh, I bet the fins. I bet the Jags. Florida teams, baby. Hey. What shit to the? this song's so old it was on a highlight tape when we played nc state in 2006 you remember that
Starting point is 00:06:14 oh my god shout out to luke gold's team yeah we used to have highlight tapes in in college and we were playing nc state and i'll never forget like they sync this song with our highlights i guess it was against nc state and we were playing miami that's what it was and they had like cheetahs Do you remember this at all? I do. Oh six, you're on the team? I do. Were you on the team in 06?
Starting point is 00:06:38 You're on the team in 06? I think so. You don't know? The other day you claimed we were in the Orange Bowl down in Jacksonville. We were. No, we weren't not in the Orange Bowl. What was it? The Gator Bowl.
Starting point is 00:06:51 Oh, I'm not. Orange Bowl would have been a big deal, dude. Yeah, yeah. I would have been a lot more mad about losing in the Orange Bowl. Oh, I misspoke, but yeah, yeah. No, it's all good. It's been a long time. We're old.
Starting point is 00:07:00 We're old. Okay. So shout out. to the Florida teams. That's how we're going to start. Here's a deal, man. I had to wait 90 minutes to watch the Sunday night football game last night. Had to wait 90 minutes to watch that game. So you in the chat, who's like, when are you getting Sunday night football, we'll get to it about 90 minutes. Okay, we are not going to start the show with that. That game did not earn. And I love rock fights, but that was the worst kind. It was a worst kind.
Starting point is 00:07:34 A rock fight, you got to wait that long. The Steelers fans are unbelievable. Some aren't afraid of lightning at all. They were out in the... I'd be in the concourse under a hot dog stand, dude. I mean, there was a tropical storm over that stadium. Yeah. Thank God they got the game in.
Starting point is 00:07:49 And there was a lot of money rolling around on the ground on that Alandon Roberts hit. Can you imagine, like, how much money is on a game like that? I know I put everything I won on Pittsburgh Money Line. Same. And I felt like I deserved it to win. You know what I mean? I didn't deserve to win.
Starting point is 00:08:08 But Alandon Roberts knocked that ball out and the ball's rolling around on the ground. How much money is rolling around on the ground there? Oh, billions. Billions. I don't know. Like 10 million? That's probably the handle on our orange bowl back in the day. Yeah, there's a lot.
Starting point is 00:08:27 There's like tens of millions of dollars rolling around on the ground there and Dak picked it up. we'll get to that in a little bit listen to the florida teams let's start with miami did you want to hit any america's teams off the top you want to hit them off the top i think so okay let's hit them off top who you got um my first america's team is going to the los angeles lakers father's son duo lebron james and lebron james
Starting point is 00:08:55 and lebron james jr i k a.k.a. brani entering the game at the same time it is preseason but it's history and I think the Lakers should be American scene for that. That's a really good, yeah, that's no issue there, even though I hate the Lakers. The only reason I don't hate the Lakers now is because JJ's there, our guy, JJ Reddick. Exactly. And I respect JJ for doing this. I know everyone's like, some people are cool with this, some people aren't.
Starting point is 00:09:21 So. Yeah, I respect him. It's like joining the Russians. Yo. A little bit, you know, it's a little bit like that if you grew up a Laker hater. But honestly, it's hard to, it's hard to hate the Lakers because I love watching LeBron. Yeah. You know, I just love watching LeBron.
Starting point is 00:09:42 Where do we get to in sports that everything has to be binary? Do you hate LeBron? Do you love LeBron? I mean, I'm an MJ guy from back in the day. If you don't like LeBron, you're just a hit. You have a hater. Like, if you like the game of basketball and you choose to have reasons to unlike LeBron James. Even the things that people get mad at LeBron about are like harmless things.
Starting point is 00:10:03 I'm like, oh, he pretends to read like long books. He doesn't like, who cares? He's not good at karaoke. He doesn't know who cares. Exactly. The guy's incredible. So anyways, that's a good one. I'll go America's team.
Starting point is 00:10:17 An America's team from me, if I could find him. Diego Pavia's family, the guy from Vanderbilt, the quarterback. Was he the quarterback? I turn it on at the end of the game. This guy, I mean, I'm like, are they really beating Bama? This is unbelievable. And of course, there was that guy from a couple years ago that became a meme. He was like, look out, Bama.
Starting point is 00:10:40 Yeah. And we just had to wait a while. But that's unbelievable. What a win for Bandy. It certainly gives my next America's team a lot of hope because a lot of people compare Virginia and Vanderbilt in some ways, although I think we're a better football program. Just to be honest.
Starting point is 00:10:55 Wow. They have Jay Cutler, but we have Matt Schum. job you know well who else does vanderbilt have we got a bunch of guys that played in the pros Aaron brooks we got more big bowl games a bunch of guys in the pros right now this didn't turn it this wasn't supposed to be a shit on Vanderbilt thing um but i just think that was awesome seeing him win that game and this guy Diego pavia he had like 70 people on the field with him like his family was rowdy and he gave one of the most electric post game speeches i've ever heard he's like man God gave me this vision from the jump.
Starting point is 00:11:28 So like when Diego was a baby, God was like, Diego, son, you're going to beat Bama. He's like, man, I always wanted to beat Nick Saban. No, not that team. You're going to beat the next iteration of Bama. I love it, man, because I believe in a higher power. But a higher power has never told me anything about football, nor has it ever like coming and be like, I got you. Thanks for doing that pregame prayer.
Starting point is 00:11:53 We're going to rescue from being one in 15 this year. Louis like because we prayed every game you know what I mean we prayed our asses off man in that little shower not hard enough man I get yeah dude I guess the the cell service wasn't as good in our locker room as it was in every other one the visiting locker room every so um shout out to Diego Pavia and his family that's a special moment man you never forget those moments about those goal posts being marched down to downtown Nashville that was crazy it was awesome dude like you know in today's era we are we definitely forego a lot of fun things for public safety like that that's the way things are and you could argue that's the way things should be but not this it's kind of like a it's not
Starting point is 00:12:39 like a law it's like if it's worth paying the fine you just pay the fine dude they should never stop doing this i don't care how many people get crushed under a goalposts if you're under the goalpost it's your it's your it's your you decide to be under that goal post it's like one of those things things like you should sign a waiver and go carry that motherfucker off down down the street. There were a bunch of bachelor rats out there like, what's going on? Michael Irvin is an America's team. Oh, my God. I mean, somebody on Twitter cracked me up.
Starting point is 00:13:12 They were like, I have cared about a lot of games in my life and I have never watched the game doggy style. My dog is, he is. ready to like come in the game. He's one of my favorite people of all the time, by the way. Don't say that. Why? Don't say come in the game, bro.
Starting point is 00:13:31 What do you mean? I have to talk about doggy style. Well, only you're thinking that. I don't think anybody was that. I was not thinking that. Geez, aren't you the one last, can you pull up that tweet during the Steelers game last night from Dr. Fax? Don't say anything.
Starting point is 00:13:44 In the wake of what he just said, can you pull up that tweet at some point in the first half? Steelers from at Big N-9-8. Steelers defense Lowkey is giving me a chubby right now at Greenlight you didn't have to add us Nate thanks for the engagement giving you a chubby
Starting point is 00:14:07 what's a chubby Steelers defense you get a little blood flow there and I can't say Michael Irvin's coming in the game but T.J. Watts, Honduras sack is giving you a chubby amen. All right so flying around
Starting point is 00:14:21 Anyway, somebody said, bruh. Hey, yo! Hey, yo! All right. Last one. Virginia Cavaliers, man. I told you that was coming. We just beat BC.
Starting point is 00:14:38 I don't know what this means long term. But I got some free gear here. It was cold because fucking re-turned the studio down to Antarctica. And this thing is breathable, but warm. And I got it from the Virginia equipment staff. and they are, what, four and one now? Let's go, we got seven votes for top 25. Dude, shout out to Tony Elliott.
Starting point is 00:14:59 Shout out to those guys. I love it. I mean, shoot, pretty hard. I mean, like, Bronco had that thing humming. Yeah. Tony comes in. It's kind of an abrupt, like, you know, departure for Bronco Menahall who did a great job here. Isn't his revenge game coming up soon?
Starting point is 00:15:13 Tony? We've got two weeks. We've got Louisville next week and then Clemson in Dead Valley. If we beat Clemson. If we beat Clemson. bro. Louisville's good too. Okay, people on the,
Starting point is 00:15:23 people on the chat don't want to hear about Virginia and, you know, Bannerbilt, but I want to give college football fans a little something nibble on. As we go into the breakdown, you with the chubby. You with the chubby. That's crazy to come in here and cast aspersions after what you said last night.
Starting point is 00:15:47 Oh, man. All right. To my events, I was watching the first half of the game in a gentleman's club. So were you watching the first half in the gentlemen's club? Yeah. Did you find the stripper that you gave your per diem to back at the orange bowl? I wish I would have seen her.
Starting point is 00:16:02 Can you tell that story real quick? Tell that story before we get into the dolphins. Wasted my whole per diem. We get per diems when you go to bowl games. How much was it? Do you remember? I probably gave this girl like $250. We might have got $325.
Starting point is 00:16:18 Which in 2007 was a lot. This is for a week. This is before inflation and for a young kid. Yes. And, and gave her and gave her my comp tickets to the game. That was the funny as part of the whole thing. Obviously, you're going to give the stripper money. For her and her kid.
Starting point is 00:16:36 But then when you invite the stripper's whole family to a game and you only have so many tickets, like, did she meet you in the tunnel after the game? No, definitely not. $250 in 2007 is worth $3759. dollars and 56 cents in 2024 money. Holy shit. Do you have any first touchdown scores you could have? And you're just pissing it down the drain. Not pissing it down the drain.
Starting point is 00:17:02 I'm sure she's a nice lady. I'm sure the kid who's now like 20 something years old. Yeah. Probably enjoyed the orange, the Gator Bowl. And I want to shout out Camus in the chat. He had a great idea for a new segment. Dr. Fax, cooked or chubbed? That's what?
Starting point is 00:17:20 You guys are funny. All right. So let's talk about the dolphins. Okay. Never say I don't big up the dolphins. I bet the dolphins yesterday. That's how much I believed in how bad the Patriots are. You know, and that's not like, listen, it's not a shot of the dolphins.
Starting point is 00:17:42 They are dealing with a lot right now. They really are. Do you respect to a little bit more seeing how, like, debilitated the dolphins are? Are you trying to set me up? No, I'm just asking. I honestly. Without any. sensationalism.
Starting point is 00:17:52 Yeah. Okay, like, this is just me. Being serious. Okay, can I be real? Yes. There's nothing that I learned new about Tua watching this offense without him. Like, he's a great quick, see, you can't ask the question if you're going to troll. But, like, I'm not trolling, but what about just looking at the points?
Starting point is 00:18:10 Like, just putting a point. Okay. Go back and through the, look at the first two games of the season. How many points did they have through six quarters? They're scoring touchdown. Look at them late in the season last year. How many points did they? have in most of those games.
Starting point is 00:18:23 You ask the question, okay, if you let me finish, okay, here's what I think. I think Tua is like a guy who there's a software that only he understands, because he's been working on it for two, three years now with McDaniel, who's a really good coach, but this offense is suited perfectly for Tua. You know, it's like putting a guy on a bicycle
Starting point is 00:18:46 that was fit for a guy. And all of a sudden the kid who's a little too tall a little too short, can't, can't ride the bicycle. Yeah. You know, and I, I think that's a credit to, to,ua's quick processing. That's the one thing he's very, very good at. And my, not the one thing. He does a lot.
Starting point is 00:19:02 Listen, when we talk about Tua, because of, the only reason I've been negative is because of the fan base, to and on. Somebody last night was like, you hate the Cowboys. It was a Philly fan doing the thing where they're like, you have to hate the Cowboys because I hate the Cowboys. I don't hate the Cowboys. And somebody was like, you said, fuck. Dallas on the stage at the live show with Ryan.
Starting point is 00:19:23 I'm like, well, I'm on three, you know, glasses of McCallin. And, you know, I'm pandering. I'm having fun there. Like, I'm also saying, fuck Dallas because I have the Eagles to win the division. I used to hate Seattle. You have no idea what the hate that flowed through me when we play Seattle or Anthony Davis and the Niners. They were battles.
Starting point is 00:19:46 I hated those people. Hated them. but something happens when you stop playing you don't hate teams i don't hate teams now here's who i hate i hate two and on not the dolphins fans in general but that faction that has been so unrealistic and so antagonistic that they honestly made themselves look like fools a different turn so if this is the victory lap no it's not what it is is it's a highly specialized offense that was built for a guy who fits that offense perfectly, I still question the ceiling of that offense with him at the helm.
Starting point is 00:20:25 So it's a complicated answer to a very simple question. Do I think more of Tua after seeing Snoop Huntley on like two weeks notice, like not being able to really run the offense? No, because to me, it would look a lot better if you had a real backup quarterback that fit this system as well as Tua did. I don't know who that is, but if I'm going to if I have any beef with Chris Greer and McDaniel who I think should not be fired no matter what happens this year because you you've walked yourself in a corner you built this
Starting point is 00:20:55 offense around one guy so if you pay the guy then you have to keep the coach because you're not going to come in and run a pro style offense with Tua you know and so my thing would be why not have a more ready made backup you know and that's one of the reasons why I've said take a stab at Bryce. You know, you're going to need this backup next year to be able to operate quick game and that sort of thing. And I know Bryce is a totally distressed asset, but it's why you might be able to take a stab at him. He got in the game late last night, he made a throw or two. You got some, he got some way. You know, all I'm saying is it is a very tough offense to get down from a standpoint of timing. When you look at like
Starting point is 00:21:32 the illegal motions, the swing passes that should be easy, but they're not because everything's on the run. Yeah. You know, everything's timing. Yeah. And so, yeah, like, there's going to be growing pains when a guy comes in and runs the offense.
Starting point is 00:21:46 No surprise. I also think what they need to be, whether or not Tua comes back is a running offense. Yeah. You know, they need to set themselves up for the next five years that way. Because I don't know, one of these years, Tyreek might not run a four or three. Yeah. You know, how old is he now? I believe 30.
Starting point is 00:22:04 You know, like, I don't know what happens. You know, there was a time two years ago where this was a scary. group. Yeah. The group doesn't scare me as much anymore. And so then the quarterback has to play really well. And so I think if you can do what you did on the ground yesterday, especially with Snoop Huntley back there, I mean, like, you know it's all about stopping the run. I thought they did a great job of running the football, 193 yards. That's their best since week five of last year. And they did that with Jalen Wright and Moister. Moistered? Moisture. Your guy? 80 yards. So this is good. This is a good start for them. And it's part of the reason I thought they'd go in there and get the win. I thought
Starting point is 00:22:42 Snoop had some good moments. But again, that's a tough offense to run. And so the rushers did a great job. I mean, that's an eight-minute drive at the end of the game, you know, to put that thing away. And when they started that drive, they were one and nine on third down. So to get the ball down the field and do what they did, especially considering what they did leading up to that, interception turning into a touchdown missed a 41-yard field goal hit the upright so hard it cleared the other upright like it was like it was terrible block punt why are so many people giving up block punts this year block punts and block kick maybe too much time in kickoff install you know like there's probably more dedication to a new kickoff yeah probably for sure fumbled snap out of field
Starting point is 00:23:30 goal range they were moving it and then they get the ball back like a minute later they get the ball down of the 28 and they skip the snap. They just skip it back to the holder. So the special teams, the penalties, New England now did them. They had 12 penalties for 105. So, you know, for a team where Holland leaves, he might miss some time,
Starting point is 00:23:49 A. Chan left. Beckham comes back. That's good. He had two targets. Your job now, if you're Mike McDaniel, is to turn this team into a running football team. And that should be the case whether Tua comes back in two weeks or six weeks. Like, because I think that's what you can do. I think you can do that with your scheme and the backs that you have if A's hand comes back,
Starting point is 00:24:10 which you will is a concussion. They got to figure it out. They got to figure out a way to protect Tua, protect whoever's quarterback back there because you can't bring Tua back if he's just going to take more hits. Well, everyone's going to be gasping every, now. Every time. From here on now, it's going to be a gasp every time he gets hit. And we want him, at least I want him to, I want him to be healthy and be able to play
Starting point is 00:24:32 because it's all it. I don't like to watch bad football. I don't like to watch bad football either. I hope he's back because I think Mike is a really good offensive mind. He's the one guy out of this West Coast group that's kind of had his ceiling affected. I mean, like I can't say that Shanahan's had his ceiling affected. Like he has been able to, you know, through talent up front with Christian McCaffrey. And Purdy, I think, is it, that's a superior quarterback to Tua.
Starting point is 00:24:57 Okay, so like he's gotten there with Jimmy G. He's got, so don't tell me you can't get there with Tua unless it's the quarterback. You know what I mean? Like, these coaches are whizzes. They can get there with almost anybody. So if Tua is not making a playoff run with the talent they have around him the last couple years, then probably at some point, in my opinion, a better answer would be somebody else. But you paid the guy.
Starting point is 00:25:21 So don't tell me you're going to fire Mike now. Yeah. Because if you fire Mike, this is going to be the least attractive job in the NFL. In my opinion. No, I agree. So, you know, Pat's, yeah, the only thing I can say is that heel-toe rule is like, I mean, we saw the inverse of that a couple weeks ago where I think a guy, a guy went heel inbound facing the sideline and everybody's thinking he's in, but then you're reminded
Starting point is 00:25:47 you got the heel toe rule. And then the opposite happens when it's your toes, your toe first. It didn't make sense to me. Almost a rule you should change in my opinion. 100%. Is that, is that like, your explanation from George Stewart here, VP of officiating. what happened was he did have one foot down in the field of play at the completion of the second step he had his toe in the field of play but his heel came down out of bounds so he did not have two feet in bound it's i feel more strongly about this than the fumbling the ball through the end zone yeah you know what i'm saying like i know kyle was last year was he mad which which way was he mad uh both ways depending on the day all right so anyways let's talk about your trip to
Starting point is 00:26:32 Jacksonville first let's talk about the game Nate like Nate stacked out he was down there in dovol I just let's let's talk about this team and then because I but like house of horrors for Indy hasn't won there in 10 years I mean that's bad dude that is bad that's real that's a real thing that's a mental thing it's totally a mental thing it has to be it is a mental thing at this point And so, you know, it's a house of horrors for them. They come in and they actually have a really good drive to start the game out. Question I have is, is Flacco the, is he the best quarterback in the senior center? Like, seriously.
Starting point is 00:27:12 Yes. Better than Rogers? Yeah. I don't think it's like at this moment. Obviously, Rogers is one of the best ever. Yeah, but right now. But right now, I'm watching him make these throws and like, I know it's a better offense and you could argue the offensive lines. lot better.
Starting point is 00:27:29 Flacko's the old guy you don't want to play and pick up basketball at the gym for Wednesday noon pickup game. He was, he was, he had some good moments. It's like no matter where he is. And you know what I thought he was, the Jets killed his career almost. I saw him at Inside the NFL last year. The first day when they are, they're, you know, bringing in people to, you rehearse and try out for the show.
Starting point is 00:27:54 And Flacco's there. And I see him in the lunchroom. we're catching up we're same draft class i love joe and he's like i'm like what are you doing man like you you done for real and he's like i don't think i'm done like honestly i think i might come back try to get on a team later this year and he leads cleveland to the playoffs and then they let him walk and now he's an indie and the question for me like taking it from the indie perspective is like if you're an indie fan and i said this two weeks ago and people killed me over it I'm not trying to kill Anthony Richardson.
Starting point is 00:28:28 I think he's, I think, bro, I liked him coming out because I like upside and I like him right now because of upside. But how do you realize the upside if his mechanics are broken in the middle of the season? So maybe this little break will help him.
Starting point is 00:28:43 I also think there's some credence to letting Joe play a little bit. And if Joe Flacko can run almost 19 miles per hour still, like what do you really need? Did he run 19 miles an hour? Bro, that's what the next gen stats. says like 18.7.
Starting point is 00:28:57 No, no, it shouldn't be next gen. It should be last gen's fast. Brough, 18. I'm going to last gen. Let me tell you, from the stadium, it did not look that fast. But the replay, he is like pulling away from linebackers and making people look like they have bad angles on someone who is not known. You know guys are getting cooked in the mean room.
Starting point is 00:29:20 Thank God it's a win. Thank God it's a win. That's a tough tackle though. But to the defense, it is the fourth quarter, and I want to tell you the humidity. That's the one thing being down there. I bet it really felt it once you got out of the pool. Bro, I forgot about how humid it is. You know, fourth quarter being humid, that's when those knots in the back of your hamstrings start to ball up a little bit.
Starting point is 00:29:43 It feels like if you bend your leg the wrong way, you're going to catch a Charlie horse. So I'll cap for them on that. Now, let's give your guys some credit because, I mean, there's a couple of times. points I want to hit. Tank Biggsby number one. Okay. I know they asked Doug after the game like is he the guy, is he not the guy? And Doug was like, ETN's the guy. He had a good game. I would have liked to have heard like, we have two guys. You know, and last year there was like, it was curious to me why he didn't get the ball more. And I think you got typecast as this powerback. But when you see him in the open field, it's Tank Bigsby time, man. Like, give him the ball. Like, this is from Paul.
Starting point is 00:30:25 I can't say his last name. Charchain. Charcane. Paul Charchain. First is on Twitter. First in yards per carry. This is of people with 34 or more carries in the NFL, which is where you kind of, that's tank Biggsby.
Starting point is 00:30:40 First in yards per carry, eight yards of pop. Avoided tackle rate, number one. And yards after contact, this is the one that's crazy to me, 6.2. What are we waiting for? Get him in the game. You know, I can understand. If you don't run your offense like a power offense and if this guy were truly a powerback,
Starting point is 00:30:59 like between the tackles, but he's a good back, okay? So we need to see more Tank Bigsby. The O-line's got to keep playing the way they played. Pressure just one time in 34 attempts. This is like the 2.9%, that's the lowest of Trevor's career. And the offensive line, like Ezra Cleveland
Starting point is 00:31:18 on that tank beast mode run in the red zone. That was a beast-mode run. How loud did it get in the... Bro, it got so long. loud. I'm happy for those fans because a lot of them are dejected and they really needed that win. It was even with them, bro, even with them going up, it's those fans that are just like, we've seen this before. We've seen this before. And then when it got close, everyone was like, oh, man, don't tell me it's going to happen again. And it got, it got there and they made it interesting,
Starting point is 00:31:45 but I just, the Ezrake Cleveland pushing Tank Bigsby into the end zone, that's one guy who gives a fuck. Okay, I'll tell you another guy who gives a fuck. Trayvon Walker. I was just about say Walker. And let me tell you something about Trayvon Walker. Maybe if you have the number four in your jersey and you play for the Jag, there's like some juju-on. I'll tell you story about Trayvon Walker. I was at Super Bowl this year.
Starting point is 00:32:09 I go to the gas station. Okay? I'm checking out at the gas station. There's a guy next to me at the register next to me. And I look at him like, this guy's big. Like, he must play ball. And then I'm like, I don't want to look in the face, you know? And eventually I sneak a glance and it's Trayvon Walker.
Starting point is 00:32:28 And I'm like, I got to talk to him. You know, because I've been there. I was a number two pick like him. Yep. And my first two years, it started slow for me. And then it came on for me, the next four. I wanted to be like, hey, let's talk out. Bro, I want to walk through some pass rush stuff.
Starting point is 00:32:45 I've been watching you. You've got, you've got it, bro. Like, you've got it. You've got great strength. Stop trying to be a finesse rusher. be with stop trying to compete compete with the other guys be who you are bro and that's it and that's a power rusher and yesterday the moves that came off a power for him learning to use the long arm i told i'm not taking credit but i told him first i was like hey man i used to play ball and he's like
Starting point is 00:33:12 oh word like nice to meet you we dapp up i'm like i actually used to play for your coach doug and he's like oh like he's like oh this guy's like not just the skinny ass white dude grabbing a grabbing a grabbing a cowtail and some zen at the gas station like he might be a guy and i was like you know get the long arm going you know like and he's like whatever like but then like two days later i got a follow from him on instagram and i reach out to him like bro like good luck the whole thing i shouted him out on inside the NFL i just you can tell listen to me like i want i want the best for these young rushers like i do aden's off and running he's killing it tibito He had a double-digit year last year,
Starting point is 00:33:53 so I think people can get off his back. And Trayvon Walker's got nine sacks the last 10 games. And he had three-piece yesterday. Not just that. Three-piece. He caused all four of the sacks that you had. Yeah. He caused the sack that Josh Erwin had.
Starting point is 00:34:07 I think it was Josh Allen. He also caused Joe Flacco to hurry up when they're down 10. Instead of being down three late in that game, they're down seven and have to kick a field goal because Flacco's got Mo Ali Cox at the pylon. but Trayvon wins and hurries that throw. So these are the hidden rushes. They're the rushes you see.
Starting point is 00:34:27 They're the rushes you don't see. This kid is doing fine, man. And that's a dominant pace. Nine sacks the last 10th. Good job, Trayvon Walker. Good shit, bro. Good shit. Just like I told you at the gas station.
Starting point is 00:34:40 I love that story because it's like the Lloyd Christmas. Well, see you later. Big Gulp, hey? Yeah. At first I was like, I kind of had the Big Gulp Say vibe, but then he followed me on Instagram he's like okay he liked like who the fuck was that um
Starting point is 00:34:54 but really great day for him and then last Brian Thomas Jr. last two weeks 17 targets 11 receptions 2008 yards two touchdowns and 22.5 miles an hour on that slot fade that they hit that that the lead up of the crowd getting loud for that play
Starting point is 00:35:13 yeah was was electric like being in there yeah it's like one of those things you catch the pass and then you realize like the dude's not going to catch him. No. Like from the angle of where I was up top, just like him pulling away, you're just like, wow. No question. And I'm not trying to, I'm not trying to Antonio Pierce the Colts.
Starting point is 00:35:36 Okay. Because I'm pretty sure a leader like Zaire Franklin's having this conversation with the guys. But on a couple of those big tank Bigsby runs, like the one in the red zone and the dive pitch, or whatever it was, the other. explosive. There are guys changing speeds left and right. The worst type of loaf you can ever have is the one where you go fast is a changes is a change of speed low. It's one thing if you're running full speed and you catch somebody but if you change speeds going from medium speed to oh I got this extra burst of energy right now trying to catch a guy and then you don't get them it's not good. Yep. I mean that's bad. So Colts fans like you, you know,
Starting point is 00:36:19 You need better effort out of your defense in that spot. And I know it's like that kind of game where, you know, big plays can discourage you and that sort of thing. But you've got to play with intense effort. I mean, this team should be playing. I'm telling you, it was like for me, not even playing in the game just walking around. It was very, very humid there. And like, I'm not saying that guys are going to, like, say that's the reason why.
Starting point is 00:36:43 But your body and like the amount you sweat and what happens when it's really human, humid out. San Francisco had the same problem with the heat yesterday. And that's a real, it's a real thing. Like if you're not practicing, it's still hot. It is still hot. And that's what I'm saying. I don't know what the weather is and we're the Colts in Indy right now. It's just like, but I, I guarantee you it's not as humid. It's not as humid. Oh, yeah. I don't know if you know this, but we play indoors. Tell me about the organization, how they rolled the red carpet out for you, that the team pride you felt. What's in the box?
Starting point is 00:37:21 What's in the box? What's in the box? Yo, Jaguars' Legends weekend. Is it Press Taylor's head? Bro, it was. It was electric. We got an amazing box. You know what I'm excited about.
Starting point is 00:37:36 Get the teal deals. A bunch of, you know, a bunch of 20% off-offs. So do you have to go back down to Jacksonville to spend this money? They're roping you win to go back down. I don't know if I could tell you. spend these online maybe a you're calculating like what what a jet blue flight is and like can you bring all the supplies back the grossly luckily it's an easy bro it's an easy travel think about it i was just in the strip club last night watching the first half of the pittsburgh game and i'm here for
Starting point is 00:38:04 work what's the gentleman you want to shout out the gentlemen's club um wackos shout out to whackos wackos yeah great spot great spot you know we got a nice thing you're gonna give you a coupon for whack I don't think so we got a fire legend that's really cool that's a great hat can I buy that from you my girl claim this you want that no too yeah I can't I can't give that up
Starting point is 00:38:32 they gave us a London football which is kind of lit sweet yeah maybe we can put this on display somewhere London you played in London right yeah I played in London is are the football is different when you go out there uh the wetter usually because it's always fucking raining
Starting point is 00:38:47 okay we got some jaggs glasses oh that's dumb can i put these on yeah i just grabbed them from you can i put these on i'll take them okay oh man we got a bucket hat that oh that's that's that's fresh he's gonna he's got your dad written over it what is he's going to love what it says it says legends community so so let me ask you this before we lose all the fans of the other teams not in florida can i ask you something yeah Were you just like, did you feel like they rolled out the red carpet for you? I absolutely did feel the way. And so it's like you saw Tom Coughlin.
Starting point is 00:39:25 But it was, that was the better part of it. Like I got to talk to. I got to talk to Tom Coughlin. I never seen Mark Brunel before. He's cool, right? Like all those guys and seeing them kind of like, seeing what we do when we talk about Virginia. Yeah. And like seeing those guys talk about how they were with Coughlin.
Starting point is 00:39:43 And it was kind of a funny running joke with them saying like, yo, like we're all here to see him get this jacket, but we absolutely hated him. Like at the time, just saying, like, the way he came in, the way he installed, like, what he did. And it was cool. Like, I'm a football fan, so that was cool. Just being around seeing David Gerard, cool. Josh Scobie, he was my kicker when I was down there.
Starting point is 00:40:07 Did you ask David about that luncheon? No, I did. When they cut him after the luncheon? Yeah. We were definitely talking about guys, when you introduce yourself to guys, you don't know down there. Everyone's kind of like, well, like, who's your coach or who was your quarterback when you were here?
Starting point is 00:40:22 Got it. And I was like, oh, I was here for Blaine Gabbard. And everyone was like, oh, shit. That's when they did my guy dirty or not. Because everyone's talking about, like, it's usually guys that play with Gerard and they're just like, they know the situation. Okay.
Starting point is 00:40:36 So overall, just an awesome experience. It was an awesome experience. Did you meet Shot Khan? No, I didn't get to meet Shot Khan. But that'd be cool. Maybe we can like getting good graces with this team. I know. But it's something that now,
Starting point is 00:40:47 I'm definitely going once. I'm looking forward. They did such a great job. I'm looking forward to doing it once a year. Go Jags. And then even more, they got the win. First win. That's big.
Starting point is 00:40:58 That's big. Bro, being the last. A little sign of life. Bro, being the last team to get a win, like having zero wins. But now they got a win. And look at the next couple weeks. They can win a couple games here and get back into it. That's it.
Starting point is 00:41:08 Right? That's it. No? Bro, I don't want to have to put them on my cook list, but. So there's the question. Are they cooked? They're not. Okay.
Starting point is 00:41:15 They're not. All right. Interesting. Let's talk about the bangles next. Let's talk about the bangles next, Nate. Oh, my God. Because I brought something into the studio, Nate. Oh, you're ready.
Starting point is 00:41:29 What's in there? Is there a bangle? Yeah. There's two pieces of chicken here. Both slightly cooked. Turn it this way. Both slightly cooked. Let me, you know, it's like, this is our first usage of a prop on this show.
Starting point is 00:41:43 Damn. Like, pita's going to be after us. No, but look at these two pieces. Look at these two little... You hate cats? Look at these two little chick. Yeah. Look at these two little chicken breasts.
Starting point is 00:41:56 They're both like, we actually are so undercooked that we had to put grill marks on them. You know? The Bengals one needs way, needs to be way darker than my skin. Than the Jags? Than my skin, bro. So we tried to walk you into a trap, but I guess I didn't even have to walk you into a trap. You think that the Bengals are more cooked than the Jags. Who do, who, the Bengals are cooked.
Starting point is 00:42:17 And here's the worst, bro, here's the worst thing. Here's the worst thing about the Bengals that all the Bengals fans are going to have to endure. Is that next week, when you guys lose to the Giants, you guys aren't going to want to be fans. The vets in the locker room, they're going to want to pack it up. They're going to be thinking about Cancun, Morocco, like all this stuff they're going to do. Morocco all three. What? They're going to be thinking about all their, their girlfriends and the wives are going to be like, oh, we're done.
Starting point is 00:42:44 They're going to be playing in the trips, everything, because, yo, they had their chance. They needed that game, bro. They needed that game. And you know that. You know that. No, I don't. They needed that game, bro. Do you think that there's anything I said last week that was contradicted by watching that game yesterday?
Starting point is 00:43:03 For the record. Here's the thing. No, no, just answer that question. Did I say anything last week that didn't come true this week? I said they're going to lose the Ravens and they're still not cooked. They are not cooked. look, do you see the grow marks on this thing? It's barely been on the grill.
Starting point is 00:43:17 They're going to play their next three games. Can somebody read me in the next three games about the Bengals on their schedule? Okay? And one of these games, I'm not going to be pulling for the Bengals, so I'll be right with you, one of these games, the Eagles. At the Giants, at the Browns, then versus the Eagles. You don't think they can make a run and get to 500 the next time they play the Ravens? And they have the Raiders in four games.
Starting point is 00:43:39 You don't think that they have a chance to be 500 in a couple of weeks. Just be real with me for a second. To be honest, for content, that would be great because I would love to see you root for them over the Eagles. No, I'm not going to root for them. You would have to for them to be 500. I don't have to. I don't have to. They're one in what right now? I just watched the game.
Starting point is 00:43:58 They're one and four. They're one and four. Let me tell you something about it. So that game to get the 500, if they keep winning, you'll be against the birds. No. So it doesn't happen. Even if they drop it. It's been closer.
Starting point is 00:44:14 closer to playoffs. I don't think they're cooked if they lose. If they go two and one the next three weeks and then get another shot at the Ravens, albeit on the road, they're not cooked. They got a shot. And here's the thing. You thought that was going to be a boat race, didn't you? They played them close.
Starting point is 00:44:32 They actually controlled the football game. They gave up a 10.4th quarter lead. I know. That's what I'm saying. They're in position to win games. You can't say they're cooked. If they were getting their asses kicked, I would say, yeah, They're cooked, but they have a top five offense in the league. Let me tell you something about top five offense in the league here, Nate. Let me sell you some.
Starting point is 00:44:50 Let me sell you a dream, you in the chat. Top five offense. Okay, well, hold on. With one win. Hold on a second. Hold on a minute player. One win. Hold on a minute player.
Starting point is 00:44:58 I got you. Okay. Last seven years has happened twice that a top five offense hasn't made the playoffs. The Bengals are currently a top five offense. The bucks that came down to the wire. The chargers came down to the last game. Okay. You remember that last game.
Starting point is 00:45:12 Like, that was a big story. So the point is, no team in the last seven years that was top five in offense. This would be an outlier. And you see my cook meter, it's in the green because Vegas has them as, what, 43% chance to win the playoffs? That's about where I told him to put that little dial, okay? And if somebody in here thinks they know better than Vegas,
Starting point is 00:45:32 well, I'm going to show you somebody who's going to lose a lot of money the rest of their life. You don't think Vegas wants to take your money? Vegas might want to take it. Hey, everyone, it looks great right now. Look at the Bengals. They have one win. Here's a great offer.
Starting point is 00:45:43 Like, put some money. money on them. They're coming back. You're the guy. I think you're the guy. No, you're the guy. I think you're the guy and you don't know. Targeted ad. You might be the guy. Bing, Bing, Bing, Bing, you might be the guy. Targeted ads for you. You might be the guy with the targeted ad. Because most people are walking around saying the Bengals are cooked and I'm just going to say this, they will be playing in December with a chance to make the playoffs. All I'm going to be doing with a chance to make the playoffs. I'm going to be upset because I'm going to be thinking about that white hand of yours reaching out and being like, bet it, bet it. Yeah, you didn't bet it.
Starting point is 00:46:14 You didn't bet it. I didn't. You don't have the conviction. I'll give it to you again. I'll give it to you again. You don't have the conviction. Because my outstretched white hand, my pink little hand. Take my strong hand, Nate.
Starting point is 00:46:29 Bro, because I'm going to be real with you for a second. The reason why I'm like so dejected about this is I'm on your side. Yo, the Bengals are a good team. That's all I needed to hear. But look, but I needed to hear. It's hard to see them not be able to get a win. No, it is hard. Believe me, I got their win.
Starting point is 00:46:44 I get their over win total. It's excruciating. The way they lost yesterday is how bad teams lose. No question. Like, and that's the only thing. No question. And it's like when you're winning. Hey, shake my hand, bro.
Starting point is 00:46:56 You get luck. I'm telling you. Because we're on the same side here. Yeah. When you're winning, like, things fall in your place. You get lucky. Maybe you don't get stiff arm twice in one play. And the quarterback doesn't throw for a touchdown.
Starting point is 00:47:08 It's little stuff. It really, it really, it really. Let's talk about this game. But first, I want to give you a couple things. All right. There was a team that started 1 and 6 and made the playoffs in history. You know what that team was? The 1970 Bengals. You know how many games they played in 1970? 14. They had less games to make it up. They made it up. Teams that start 1 and 4, it's happened 14 times. And that data set is from a 16 game season. I mean, like pretty much. So it is not impossible.
Starting point is 00:47:38 That's my whole thing. It is irresponsible. I will not sit up here when you've got Joe Burrow. like our guy Chris Canney, who I love, but who has been the leader of like the Joe Burrow hate train on ESPN. It starts with a take where it's like, hey, he's got to win that Washington game. That's his fault. Well, it's not his fault. And yesterday, you could say he's got to throw, he can't throw that pick. But since the game started, you know, Labar's got to catch the snap too. They both played out of their minds.
Starting point is 00:48:08 Yeah. It was a clinic. Yeah. Like it was like two horses, thoroughbreds, were kind of galloping in the first half. First half, eight minutes ago in the first half, it's a low-scoring game. Three minutes ago in the first half, low-scoring game.
Starting point is 00:48:21 The two horses started, like one started running a little faster, and the other one started running a little faster, and all of a sudden, they're running for 100 miles, dead, dead heat. And Burroughs the first one to stumble. He stumbles, throws that pick, leaves the door at him for Lamar. Lamar ties it. The Bengals had another chance late.
Starting point is 00:48:38 And it comes out of the kick. if they don't bro and this is the story coming out of the game for me the holder Zach Taylor not being aggressive at the 39 yard line okay and you could botch that hold at the 25 yard line so maybe nothing changes but isn't that interesting that it comes down to something like that the guy's not even I don't even count a holder as a football player in that respect like he's a football player the football players on your team puts you in position to win okay You botched it on special teams. Here's my Zach Taylor thing.
Starting point is 00:49:14 And he's one of the coaches that I'm mad about. I'll give you my mad rankings today. He's like number three or four. Because when you get the ball with a chance, and I'm live streaming this thing from my office yesterday, I'm doing a recap of the games. Check us out on Sunday afternoons. If you want instant reaction,
Starting point is 00:49:30 we're going to post a lot on Sunday afternoons. But I'm watching overtime. And I said it before I close my eyes during the kick, which I used to do as a player when there was a game winning kick, I wouldn't watch. I said, if they fuck around here and they play with their food,
Starting point is 00:49:46 they're going to miss a field goal and they're going to lose the game. It's a certainty. Mm-hmm. Okay? So when you come out and you're not aggressive, when the whole game you're aggressive with a 10-point lead,
Starting point is 00:49:56 with a 10-point lead, every time Baltimore touched the ball in the second half, 10-point lead, 10-point lead, 10-point lead. It was Baltimore making it up. And the whole time, the Bengals are being aggressive,
Starting point is 00:50:07 including the last drive when Joe made that mistake and forced to slant. And that's the one mistake. When you're playing Lamar and he's playing like a damn MVP, we'll get there. He was unbelievable. When you are playing a guy like that, you make a mistake. The coach can't be scared out of playing your offense when you get the ball back with a chance to win the game. That to me is a cardinal sin.
Starting point is 00:50:28 You leave it up to your holder. You leave it up to your kicker rather than putting the ball in the hands of the guy that fucking got you there. That to me is a cardinal sin. and like you could say hey the bangles didn't win the game the players aren't good like whatever it is that is why you lost the game that's why you lost the game and for you to be afraid of doing the same thing just tells me that like you don't have any conviction like you don't think that you think it's going to happen twice it hadn't happened all game be more aggressive if you are you might get
Starting point is 00:50:59 out of there with a win and i just want to say this the ravens the story today for me is lamar jackson It's the story almost any time we unpack a Ravens win. This guy, if there's not an MVP on that field yesterday, like when you're watching him, when you're watching Lamar play in that second half of that game, the drive that they cut it to three on to put the pressure on the Bengals might have been the drive of the year to this point. I'm not trying to be hyperbolic.
Starting point is 00:51:30 And Atlanta's had some nice drives and all that. But considering the defense they were going against, and they got a lot of those same matchups that the chiefs got early. So Zach Orr, that wasn't the best day for the Ravens defense. But I'm talking about Lamar driving the ball down the field
Starting point is 00:51:46 and I'm talking about beating the blitz. Lou Anirumo was content blitzing them every second down because what they weren't going to do was like that first drive the Ravens had, it was third and one, third and two, third and one. We're not going to let them just slowly move the ball down the field.
Starting point is 00:52:04 We're going to heat them up on second down. okay and Lamar beat the blitz he had a third and ten he hit and then he makes the the that's his high'sman moment that is the thing that wins you the heisman in college yes like if he wins the MVP this year and there's one moment you need that's the moment and and sam hubbard i've been there like there like it's easy for me to say get him down not like that it well i've been there like that you know why you haven't been there like that why we're going to see this highlight this specific Kyle? Forever.
Starting point is 00:52:35 That's what I'm saying. Forever. But I've been there where you can't get a guy down and like I told you I've missed the Sean Watson twice on a single play along with Michael Bennett.
Starting point is 00:52:43 We missed him three times and he hit a 50-yard bomb. It just so happened. We won the game and it wasn't Lamar. Okay, so I look at that play and I'm like, some guys are just better.
Starting point is 00:52:53 And the throw to Isaiah likely in the end zone was unbelievable. And Kyler made a throw yesterday on fourth down that was like incredible. But this isn't another weight class. Yeah. And so when I come out of this game, I say, hey, Baltimore, you know, you have done some things to stunt his development by not putting people outside, the whole thing in a game where the run game actually wasn't the feature in the second half.
Starting point is 00:53:17 In the first half, they came out and ran the ball in the second half because they were down 10, it was almost like the worst thing that Sincere could have done. Because since he got guys back in the front, B.J. Hill, Murphy, Jenkins, the last couple weeks, they have had to reshuffle some pieces in the secondary. and I thought that they fell asleep on a couple balls. I mean, like, definitely the Kohler ball. That was huge. I mean, just get it back in one play like that. It puts a lot of pressure on you. Luckily, you got Jamar Chase to go distance quickly and that sort of thing.
Starting point is 00:53:44 But I thought the tight ends eight in the second half. Mark Andrews eight. Oh, man. Yeah, Lamar completed passes to nine different Ravens in this game. Five players had at least three grabs. Hitting the Ravens. And all the while, I'm doing the live stream, and somebody's like,
Starting point is 00:54:00 Jaden Daniels is what we wanted Lamar to be as a passer. I'm like, okay, I've been hyping Jaden Daniels for the better part of a month, but like, what are we doing? Are we still doing this? No, that's crazy. I don't know how you watch that game and discredit anything this man's done in the NFL. Oh, get ready after next week when they face each other, how much you're going to hear that? Which people?
Starting point is 00:54:24 Lamar versus Jaden Daniels next week. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're going to be hearing that all week. Well, Lamar was great, and I thought that for Sinci, there were some positives in the first half. Like, I'm not doing the cook thing right now. I'm just saying, like, if you want to fix this, your defense has to be better. I thought those guys play with a lot of intensity. I thought the run game, I mean, it didn't look anything like what it looked last week playing Buffalo.
Starting point is 00:54:47 And that's not a high hurdle to clear. But in the first half, they threw barefront at them. They gotten under. They gotten over. They tried to gap out the line of scrimmage. And they tried to blitz as the game went on. Lamar just beat the Blitz. And even when they went away from the run game,
Starting point is 00:55:02 it was just too much. He's that fucking good, dude. And so, like, yeah, you lost to Lamar. It'd be nice if you hadn't lost to the teams you'd lost to earlier in the season. Had you won the Chiefs game, found a way to win that game, then this doesn't hurt as bad. But damn, for a matchup that I just feel like Lamar has owned, but I haven't seen a lot of games where both of them played at a high level against each other,
Starting point is 00:55:23 this is what I want to see every time these two teams play. And, you know, you talk about. you talk about quarterbacking in the NFL. There was a point in that 1 p.m. slate watching Josh Allen, who wasn't playing his best, C.J. Stroud, in the second half, who wouldn't play in his best, but still was doing C.J. Stroud things.
Starting point is 00:55:42 And on the other TV, it's Burrow and it's fucking Lamar. And I'm like, we're just fine. And on the other TV, the side TVs, you got Jaden Daniels and Caleb Williams, who, who, you know, in different ways might end up being part of the conversation when it comes to, like, the quarterbacks to tomorrow. So, like, we're going to be a,
Starting point is 00:55:58 okay. And that 1 p.m. slate was electric. And we'll get to the next game here now. Whether they're cooked or not, let's put this grill away for now, because I don't want to get salmonella. Get the barbecue sauce, sponsor ready for next week for that Bengals. You think so? Bengals and who next week? Huh? The Raiders? Is it the Raiders next week the Bengals play?
Starting point is 00:56:25 Giant. Oh, do you think the Giants are going to beat them? Bro, think about it. The Giants won without Malik neighbors. He has a weak rest, a rookie, and a weak rest. Can I tell you why they lost? Prime time. Can I tell you why Seattle lost?
Starting point is 00:56:38 It's a good time to get to this because Detroit's on a buy. And I want to talk about this because there's a take circulating around. I just, I want you to know where it came from because I'm seeing a lot of people saying, yeah, I found this. You didn't find it. We found it. We found it like two, three weeks ago. There is a hangover when you play the Lions that is evident.
Starting point is 00:56:58 and it showed up in all four games that teams played after playing them this year. And so, like, you can go back to the Rams, getting throttled by the Cardinals. You can go back to the Bucks, getting throttled by the Broncos. You can go back to the Cardinals, getting throttled by the commanders.
Starting point is 00:57:15 And now this week, losing by multiple scores to a Giants team, that we're kind of like, yeah, they're an afterthought. It's the hangover effect of playing Detroit. I really do think that. And it's not going to, It's not going to hold up every week this year. But when we played back in the day, I was on a very physical defense.
Starting point is 00:57:35 And there was one year that we kind of looked at it. And we were like, yeah, teams aren't like the offenses look a little sluggish after they play us. Now, not the whole team because we didn't have it on both sides of the ball. But like that's a point of pride for a group to say like, hey, we're beating people up so bad. They play bad the next week. And I think Detroit now has a defense to match the physicality of their offense. And that's a lot of it. That's exciting for them.
Starting point is 00:57:59 And a point of pride, I think Dan Campbell, if he's picked this up, is probably in his meeting room being like, man, little birdie told me, teams don't like to play us. Because the next week, they're all sore. You know, like we got to keep that going. So we'll get to that game in a little bit. I cannot wait. I will bet you straight up on every game Cincinnati plays the rest of the season. We can just book it right now. Lock it in to a contract.
Starting point is 00:58:24 Every game, pick a unit. We'll bet it. Yes or no? Really? Okay, every game for the rest of year. $100? We'll figure it out. We'll figure it out?
Starting point is 00:58:35 My guy, dude. My fucking guy, dude. All right. Here's the deal. We got Buffalo Houston. And I talked about the 1 p.m. slate, how electric it was. I know y'all felt this in the chat. Like, that 1 p.m. slate is like, it was peak football.
Starting point is 00:58:50 When Coleman caught that ball on the sideline to get that game to within a score. and went the distance on fourth and five. They're like, hey, it's fourth and five. Josh is like, I want to go. I guess it's getting good. He goes the distance. He's toe tapping on the sideline. Like, it was going nuts at that point in the 1 p.m.
Starting point is 00:59:10 slate. And you knew you had a classic game here. Now, there's two people to me that really overshadowed this game in a negative way. The first person is whoever's responsible for concussion protocol in this game. I can't sit up there when Tua gets knocked out of the game a couple weeks ago and high horse, you know, the fact that in the past we haven't evaluated concussions the right way and like, we need to do this right. And then because I like Josh Allen and because I have the bills and the teaser,
Starting point is 00:59:44 pray for him to come back in the game. He should not have been back in the game. He was out, bro. Let me ask you a serious question. Yeah. Do you think those doctors, are there any restrictions on those doctors better? at all. Not saying that has anything to do with it. They probably are. Honestly, like that, like, do you think that has anything because just like you're saying, why? Have you heard of a
Starting point is 01:00:06 bookie? Why, why? Orne Otani's heard of a bookie. Is he back in the game? Like, when we can see on TV and they strictly show the replay of the head hitting the turf. It's not even that. It's his limp going, his wrist going limp. And I said this week, I jinxed him. I said, I've never seen him get up slow and he finally got up slow and I kind of feel bad. But like when when I see Josh as bad as I wanted him to finish that game for him, you know, because this is a game where he didn't play great and he's battling and it's a big game for this team. And you want to see the game finish with the two guys, right? Yeah. I don't want to see Mitch Trubisky. But if it means Josh being healthy, of course. That's what we do. That's why you have a backup quarterback, you know. The fact that he went back in
Starting point is 01:00:53 that game to me is is kind of shameful and the NFL as a league as much as you talk about player safety you you don't care you don't care and I saw it again last night I'll say this because they find guys for helmet to helmet hits and they say it's oh it's for safety and they take money away that's an image thing yeah if it's for here's how I know if you're if you're serious when the best player on the field that the entertainment value of the entire game hinges upon is treated like everybody else. And to me, I've always said this, you are not going to get players to pull themselves out of the game. Never. It is your job to take the helmet of the player. That is an attitude we all have. I've played after I was concussed, you know, like not officially, but I passed the test and know I
Starting point is 01:01:37 was dinged. And all I want to do is go back in the game. And I played some good games that way. But I can tell you, it probably wasn't the right thing. Same here. And in today's environment, when we talk a big game about caring about the players, and I see that and then Sunday night and I don't want to say for sure that Justin Fields was out but in the in the moment when Justin Fields hit the turf after um wheat hit him um I'm sitting there watching him come back out and they're waiting for the independent evaluator to phone down and give you a yes or no the steelers don't care no one cares no one cares they know he was out I know he was out I know he was out Now if he wasn't out and somebody wants to show me a different, you know, angle where they get the camera low and he's just laying there acting like he's out or he's dejected, that's one thing.
Starting point is 01:02:30 But what I see when he hit the ground and they kept the camera on the deep out that he was throwing so I couldn't really see the immediate thing. But when we went down to slow motion, he's laying there motionless. And so, yeah, the league just needs to make a decision. Are you going to run this like the XFL? If you are, just say it. and let guys sign a waiver and say, you know, like, I'll go back in the game, but I waive my rights for compensation or something like that or litigation. But say it out loud.
Starting point is 01:02:58 Do I have a pulse? No, because, yeah, yeah, your guy. Your guy, what, uh, uh, Bram. Brom? Yeah. Yeah, I got two, I get two questions for you. Is this or is this not the XFL? And then what, I don't know what the second question was.
Starting point is 01:03:15 Do I have a pulse? Do I have a pulse? Yes. Yes, let's play football. Okay, market it that way, because what I saw yesterday was y'all don't care about this thing. So I don't know what people in the chat think, but this was bullshit. And just to answer Nate's question. How do we get to white privilege in the chat?
Starting point is 01:03:34 Jesus Christ. NFL personnel people are encouraged, like they can't bet on games. The last one, Bernie Kozar was the radio announcer, and he got dinged and suspended because he was betting on games. So doctors. Yeah. Because he was tied in with the team. Oh, I see. Anyways.
Starting point is 01:03:53 All right. So here we are. Here we are. Here we are. Josh Allen, you can't break down his shortcomings yesterday without breaking down how great Houston was defensively at times. And like, I've said this about this group. Their speed coming in the game. I said this is going to be a challenge for Josh.
Starting point is 01:04:09 I anticipate he'll have to go quarterback run a little bit more because it's going to be messy trying to find people, especially if Shakira's out. Shakir's out. This is a guy that's looking around, and the group, when it's all intact, is just fine. But when you play a team that can man you up, they've got speed. They've got speed up front so they can pull up boots. They've got speed up front so they can disrupt you.
Starting point is 01:04:30 They have Al Shaire who can hurry you when you're trying to roll right, and they have the people to plaster your receivers without Shakir on the field as the down goes on. That's what you saw. And Josh wasn't exactly right. Like he missed that ball to Hollins a little bit. I would say it on the same token, like he missed the throw.
Starting point is 01:04:48 But if it's somebody who's elite, he might come down with that ball. He might track it a little differently. I don't know. It's a tough play. The one that he's throwing across his body to Holland's, he's got to have that. The one on the sideline to Coleman in the first half on third down,
Starting point is 01:05:01 I think it was, he's got to have that. The one to Kincaid that's hurried by Al Shaiir disrupting the timing of the route and the throw. He's still got to have that. Josh didn't play his best football either way, though. At some point, he's like one for nine. And I just wanted to give the Texans their due because this is a team I put in the Super Bowl.
Starting point is 01:05:19 And when you watch this defense play, it's as much about C.J. Stroud as it is about the things they're doing on defense and the speed with which they play. They are so physical. Fadikasi, the 97 defense tackle ended up. Edwards, Mario Edwards. No one's changing speed in that defense. No one's changing speed on that.
Starting point is 01:05:39 They're swarming. They're swarming. Downhill. Lasseter. coming down and blowing up, you know, a screen, that sort of thing. But also from a strategic standpoint, D'Amico's saying, we're going to heat Josh up. A lot of people are afraid to blitz Josh because of the free runner thing. If he beats a free runner, you're fucked. They heated him up on the perimeter to disrupt the perimeter quick game that they knew they'd have to go to because guys
Starting point is 01:06:06 outside can't get open as the down extends. So they're heating him up intentionally and all the timing stuff that are gimmies for him were not gimmies yesterday and so i thought it was a great game plan from from houston you got to come out of this game saying like hey this group on defense is really good and that's part of the reason why josh looked the way he looked but she care being out's a big deal and i think when you look at six targets to hollins who that's my dog i love mac hollons but i know he'd probably say i don't expect to get the ball six times and curtis samuel i don't know if it's a trust thing but nolan and i were talking about this like there were some quick options that could have gone to him in a screen game and he just passed him up it's not pulling the figure i think
Starting point is 01:06:45 trust is big with him like it is with any quarterback and i think one guy he trusts a lot is Shakir we talked we talked to him in buffalo when we went there and and spent time with him um when he asked him about Shakir his eyes light up and so what you get at the end of the game is like when you're going for it uh or you're you're it's third and five and you have a chance to like take the lead late in the game at midfield you're going to to mvS with stingley on him like that that's a that's not a matchup I'm trying to go to when, you know, you only have a quarter left of football and you need all your best plays. All your best matchups, all your best plays. So overall, Houston will be fine. So will Buffalo. I think the one issue for me with Houston is,
Starting point is 01:07:29 and I talked about this Stroud look incredible. He has looked incredible this year in a lot of moments. I mean, he's, you worried about sophomore slump. I don't see the sophomore slum. This guy is the top five quarterback, okay? Period. He's good. Okay. But the problem is in the second half, this team's got some issues right now. Like in Jacksonville last week, they struggled in the second half. They let them back into the game. And then I thought, like, juxtaposed to them coming out in the first half and dealing with the blitz, like hitting them with quick game, screening into the blitz, like all that stuff, the speed from Collins. You get a rookie safety. His eyes are in the backfield for a second.
Starting point is 01:08:06 And he's gone. The second half, they just killed themselves. with penalties and self-inflicted wounds. I'm going to list every possession and one play that killed it. First possession, Schultz rolls the ball at somebody when they're like on the ground, like drive stalls, 15-yard penalty. I think they had a field goal in that drive.
Starting point is 01:08:26 False start on third and five, or third and three goes third and eight. You end up with a punt. You get the big Agumba while they run. You get a mason hold on the next one, a legal man downfield on the same possession. You punt. You throw a pick.
Starting point is 01:08:39 You sack fumble. and the smoot play. And honestly, that smoot play, this is an interesting little nugget to me. I think they had an explosive if smoot doesn't get home. They were faking, I think, the screen, and then Tank Dell leaked through there.
Starting point is 01:08:55 And I haven't seen the All-22 on that play, but from what I saw, he was going to be open screaming down the field. So, you know, I got to give credit to Buffalo and then the final possession where you get a chance to win the game. We're not even talking about Sean McDermott who blew the game. I'm going to talk about this. They get into field goal range and they
Starting point is 01:09:16 get a grounding and they get knocked out of field. So the Texans have to be better in the second half in general, discipline, play calling. Quarterback has to play better and he's damn good. But Sean McDermott kind of to me blew this game. I don't like the fact that Josh is back in the game, but he's in the game. You're backed up. You've got like a minute to go. I don't even do this in Madden. You know what I'm saying? Like one in the morning, raw cone in my mouth. I don't even do this in Madden. Okay? The other team has three timeouts. Your job is to get a first down. And in the process, do not put the ball on the ground. Do not throw an incompletion. Do not take shots. Take the shot once you get the first down. Okay? If you want to take a shot, take the shot after they
Starting point is 01:10:01 burn their timeouts. But the second down play to Hollins was just so so silly to me. It was so unsurious. How do you go out there and thinking you're putting the ball in the best player in your team's hands by giving him a chance to get it out of the shadow of his own goal line? That is not putting the ball in his hand. What you did is you took it out of his hands because you don't get overtime. And now what you're doing is you're putting the ball in CJ shroud's hands. And all he has to do is hit one checkdown. And you're going to be fair band's going to kick it from 60. So McDermott and I know I'm not Listen, Sean been great this year in a lot of ways. Joe Brady has been everybody's darling.
Starting point is 01:10:45 But in general, I didn't like the fact they abandoned the run game. Okay? Like in the second quarter, they were way out of whack. You got the numbers on that? Yeah, only ended in challenge that catch. Bro, that was huge. So it's like as a player, like, how do you, how do you like maybe deal with that? Like, just feeling like, is it Josh Allen needs to go in there and be like, hey, like, are our time management?
Starting point is 01:11:09 like I wish we would do this better. Like are you, I don't think, you, a lot of times you have a guy for that. You also, to me, it's Joe Brady knowing the situation. And it's Sean McDermott walking over and being like, Joe, come here. What are you calling? Yeah. It's the Dan Quinn in the Super Bowl. We all gave shit to Kyle Shanahan, but it's also Dan Quinn saying like, this is how I want,
Starting point is 01:11:31 I know I don't have the headset on, but this is how I want this possession to go. Yep. And like, that to me is an oversight on Sean's. from Sean's standpoint and from Joe's standpoint. And then the thing with the red flag, the third red flag are not like, what's the issue? Like, what's the issue with teams?
Starting point is 01:11:46 Like, why is that so hard? Like, in real time, like, just like, because you have to trust somebody upstairs. But it's a two second delay with the real time. Like us, we're sitting at the home watching the game. And we're hearing the reporters be like, look, it's a catch. Yeah, but you know what's tough?
Starting point is 01:12:00 You can't have a TV copy on the sideline. Like, you can't have a TV copy on the sideline. But in the booths. You have the jumbotron. That's what I'm- The guys upstairs can have a TV copy. But that's, They're part of your team.
Starting point is 01:12:10 So it's a failure possibly upstairs. And also maybe sometimes it's a thing where you're like, this is on the line. I don't want to use the timeout. The whole thing. Like if you're Mike Tomlin, you don't go fuck about timeouts. I can tell last night. Okay. But like generally, I would just say this, positives for Buffalo, they get, who'd they get back?
Starting point is 01:12:31 They got Bernard back. That's a big deal. I thought Dorian Williams played maybe his best game. He was all over the place. I thought, you know, in coverage, maybe not. I'll go back and look at, you know, the sideline view. But I thought in the run game, he was all over the place. So was Bernard where, you know, fourth and one, a huge play in the game.
Starting point is 01:12:51 They hurry up to go in the first half and they can blow this thing wide open. Bernard jumps over the top and makes the play. It alleviates a lot of stress for that linebacker group. So I thought there were some positives for Buffalo. And the positives for Houston is like, you played like dog shows. the entire second half and you almost boat race this team Houston's scary and boy am i glad two weeks ago that when rich eyes and asked me one more time rich are the bills the best team in the aFC i'm glad i said rich it is not even Halloween yet like we cannot be doing this and i said don't i said
Starting point is 01:13:29 you're going to run no offenses they give you trouble and the second half did a better job but part of that's Houston we don't know which team is the best than the afc but we know who has the best jerseys new texans jerseys you're putting me in a position where the nice people shout out to ever down in houston sent you these this jersey sent you a personalized jersey so hype about this jersey and i'll tell you and it's so mid it's so mid like to keep it real it's so mid it's not great okay it's not great like like it could be better and i'm sure somebody's gonna be like you're being a hater or something like but bro you we just have different tastes. I like the Houston Texan uniforms last year better than the ones this
Starting point is 01:14:12 year. So, you know, like, I'm not going to make it my anti-bevel Conway. I'm not doing all that. Here's a preview might be mine. Okay. He said it, not me. Oh, and I don't know. Like, it's too much to bring that grill back out. But for people with Josh Allen MVP odds, cooked after that game. Nine for 30. Oh, it's so early. What? Don't even think about getting the cash out ever for that bet. It's not happening. It's not happening.
Starting point is 01:14:43 It's so early. Who won the MVP last year? They didn't have a 9 for 30 game. Who won the MVP last year? I pay little attention to who wins the MVP. It really doesn't matter. You know what I mean? I'm sure Josh is still like plus six or 700.
Starting point is 01:14:56 Yeah. There's a, I mean, listen, who's the other guys who were in the, I mean, Jaden Daniels. Mm-hmm. About 10 to 1. That's who we need to talk about right now because it's a dynamite. Dynamite segue there, Nate. Yep. All right, let's start with Cleveland.
Starting point is 01:15:13 Trey Miles Garrett. It's a yard sale. Like, just, I know, that's your team. Are they cooked, your Super Bowl team? Until James comes up? I said that already. Until James, they just have to really let everyone know, like, all right, guys, we're done with them.
Starting point is 01:15:28 We're taking it on the head. We lost the money. We're out of here. Is that aad mojo? That's the, let's just, let's just, let's just scratch it. That's where recovery starts is when you're like, I have a problem. But I want them to do that before what they do. Think about what you're about to say, bro.
Starting point is 01:15:44 Start selling people. Yes. Well, Chub comes back soon. If you're Cleveland, maybe you're thinking, hey, when Chubb comes back, we're a totally different team. Maybe we get healthy. Maybe James in a Kevin Stifansky offense is more like Kevin Stavansky. I don't know if he can run that offense.
Starting point is 01:15:59 You know, that's not what he was running in Tampa, you know, those years that he was thrown for a million yards. I do think the team's dead. I also think there's a sense when you, when your franchise, like just kind of mortgages the future for a guy like that. You know, there's some resentment. I think there's resentment if you've been there a while.
Starting point is 01:16:22 And I'm not thinking for these guys, but I'm putting myself in the shoes of guys in the Cleveland locker room where it's like, bro, like we're giving years of our career to this. You don't want to do with that. Like, here's the thing. being on a bad basketball team being on a bad baseball team be on the white socks hanging out with your friends every night
Starting point is 01:16:41 like missing some pitches like walking some guys like we'll get them tomorrow that's a different deal going out with your friends every night on the road great flying private there's 20 people on the plane the NFL is not
Starting point is 01:17:00 I mean listen guys are paid well but it is not a fucking easy life and and i still feel that i'm still stressed i'm more i'm different after i played in the nfl than i was before i played in the nfl the stress level that that exists in a building the physical toll and the the urgency to seize every single year of your earning potential there are guys in that locker room who are fucked because of this just fucked you know how much better people play when the team's good you know how much more people earn when the team's good you know how much more people earn when the team's good you know how much more guys that are up for contracts make when the team's good Cleveland sold their soul they sold their soul they got to pay
Starting point is 01:17:41 and now you've got guys like miles garrett who are miles garrett has a chance to be one of the best rushers to ever play how many leads is he playing with now I know what that's that feels like not being one of the best rushers ever but I know what it feels like to play with no leads with the burning the building is burning around you And like, it's got to be excruciating. So he's not the only good player there. J.O.K. is a hell of a player. You know, the tight ends a damn good player.
Starting point is 01:18:09 You know, there's other good players. We're going to talk about those cover guys, which is part of the reason. That's what I mean. It's just like, like, how long, like, is it taking for you guys? Like, you have a supporting cast and you have a capable backup. Like, give them a chance. Like, yes, it's going to muddy waters. But how can Cleveland's water, like, be more.
Starting point is 01:18:30 muddy than it is right now. Because the worst best thing that can happen for you, you put James in and you guys start with the- Jason Garrett's on your team. Last night, I was freaking out. You guys looked like a world-boil machine. I was, you were like Leo and the, the GIF and you, you, because everybody said it out loud last night.
Starting point is 01:18:46 I think that's like, we finally get to the point where we're saying out loud. I said it all year. The guy shot, I don't think he's, he's definitely two shot to win with this group. So I think it's either pack up your tent and figure it out and try to get something back, or it is make the change, but do it now.
Starting point is 01:19:02 Like, do it right now. Now. Do it now. Like, there's no, you're paying for him no matter what. It's no point if you do it, like, when you think or when they start talking about how you're mathematically almost out of it. Like, it's no point to, to do that then. Like, do it now.
Starting point is 01:19:17 You ever make a really bad purchase? What do you do when you make a really bad purchase? You don't keep using the thing. You lose money on it. Well, you lose money on it, but like, that doesn't mean then you have to use it. Isn't that like the sunk cost fallacy? Exactly. Like, what are we?
Starting point is 01:19:30 we doing here bro what the fuck are we doing anyways it's probably because they all know they'll lose their job and they mention well it's an admission of stupidity yeah it's an and i feel for kevin stepansky who i i have a hard time believing he wanted this maybe he did now here's the one thing i will do to come to deshawn's defense the football player yesterday i will never defend Sean the guy. But the football player was not quitting on his team when he walked off the field. It was easy to watch that clip with no context and be like he's quitting on his team. And it's also funny to me that people were like, all right, I've had enough.
Starting point is 01:20:11 That's it. That's the last row. All the cases. That's the last row. You know, we can work around that. But if the guy's going to quit on his team, that's just something you never do. What's wrong with football culture, bro? And then on top of it, it's not even the right take.
Starting point is 01:20:26 because they have 12 men on the field. So he's walking off the field and he's saying to Kevin's the fancy, we got 12 guys in the huddle. We can't afford to take a time out and we can't afford to go right now because we're going to get a penalty. Play clocks down too low. I think that's what happened. That's accurate. So, you know, a lie doesn't care who told it and it goes around the world, you know, three times fashion in the truth or whatever. Orwell.
Starting point is 01:20:47 That's kind of what. And I don't want to step out in front of that lie for a guy like Deshaun, but in the spirit of the truth, that is not what happened. Okay, so bench him either way. Are you about to go into coaching? You're starting to have like a lot of these like old metaphors and like, I'm thinking about it. I'm thinking about it. It sounds like you getting ready.
Starting point is 01:21:08 I'm like an old ball coach, dude. I do coach a little ball here locally. I work with the DeLyman. I'm working with a couple area of D. It sounds like you try to get into it. I love coaching, bro. I just don't like the hours. So I decided to do the same hours here.
Starting point is 01:21:24 All right. Here's the deal. We said Jaden Daniels coming in. This is going to be a real litmus test for him because of. It's not that he's playing the Browns. It's that he's playing these cover guys. And they're going to man up. They're going to blitz him.
Starting point is 01:21:36 They're going to do all these things. He passed. He passed with flying colors, bro. With flying colors. I also heard him say that like he's checking into plays and stuff. Like they give him freedom. They trust him. Cliffs got the table set for him.
Starting point is 01:21:51 He hit that third and 13. It was a beautiful ball down the right sideline. He hit a bunch of beautiful balls. He does it every week. Okay. And on top of that, now he made the one mistake at the goal line. It reminded us that he is a rookie and he's human. But otherwise, this guy really is making a case for MVP.
Starting point is 01:22:08 Like if he plays this way the whole year and his team's winning more than the other teams that, you know, are not winning, it's going to be hard to keep him out of the race. Like, you've kind of, it's implied in our preseason assessment of this organization. We, either you have to go back on this being like a team. that's supposed to win six games or you have to acknowledge that this guy is fucking incredible at this age at this juncture and i think what's also great about this team is and this is why the truth is somewhere in between the table sat pretty well for him they went to cleveland to play the browns well they didn't go to cleveland but they're playing the browns right and the first half of this
Starting point is 01:22:48 game what team was more physical commies what the second half of the game what team was more physical I saw this guy McNichols run down on a kickoff and smokes somebody shit There's a mouthpiece in the air on his touchdown later There's there's orange helmets on the ground They're laying waste to this group they made this group kind of quit You know I mean this is fucking impressive It's gap scheme runs it's it's Echler it's it's it's Brian Robinson who I swear is one of the better backs in the league but people just don't treat them like it
Starting point is 01:23:23 So I think that the organization has been devalued to the point from an expectation standpoint and from like just a public opinion standpoint that we're not giving the players on this credit on this team. They're due coming in the season. Brian Robinson, McLaurin, guys like that. You know, everybody knows he's good, but amazing how good they can be when you actually have a quarterback running the show. And they sold their whole defense.
Starting point is 01:23:48 Dan Quinn's doing a great job of keeping this group competitive. Good for Dan Quinn and Kingsbury. just like the coaches, it's one of those things. Like everyone's good in the NFL. Like there's like everyone like outside looking in, you can say that, but there's no bad players. And it's just like you, it's hard. You have to be able to piece everything together.
Starting point is 01:24:07 And that's why it's so hard to win a championship and like at a base level. Yeah. Just trying to put those pieces together so they work a little bit. Let along one side, but do it on both sides of the ball. And then you think about special teams.
Starting point is 01:24:23 and for it to all come together and you actually get wins. That's organizational design. Yep. And maybe what needed to happen and maybe this is like a PSA for any other organization and there's not much you can do when the owners like David Tepper
Starting point is 01:24:36 or some other like fake football guy. Yeah. But like they brought in a basketball guy and he was like all he had to do was be logical. Isn't that crazy how logic is like it's like a dying art form in the NFL? Yeah. I mean one of the traditions,
Starting point is 01:24:53 hold strong for a lot of people in the world. Now part of it is just hitting on the quarterback. And they said, and I don't like this, when they say a month into the season, oh, we wanted him all along. So part of it is like, you nailed the quarterback. Only they know if they wanted him all along.
Starting point is 01:25:08 It's a weird time. You say that after you draft him and maybe they did say that. But like the point is, they are doing things outside the quarterback that are the right things. Down to like, hey, we have a personnel deficiency on defense because we see.
Starting point is 01:25:23 sold our best rushers and everything last year, we're going to hire a defensive head coach and we're going to lean into, you know, scheme and being able to coach these guys to play hard and put people in the right positions and bring in veterans like Louvo and draft people like Sandscro or however the fuck I'm saying his name. Sanristro still. Sangris still. Sangris still. Sangra still. Sangria still. I think you put a I think you put a Z in there. How do you say his name, man? Sainerstil. Santerstil? how do I say his name it's the biggest impediment
Starting point is 01:25:53 to be being like good at this job as I can't say people's name sane sane R-I-S R-I-S-R-I-S-T-L Sane R-R-S-T-L Sain R-R-S-T-L-E-Led-N-E-L-S-A-L-L-S-A-L-L-E-L-N-A-L-L-E-N-A-R-E-N-A-R-E-N-A-R-E-N-A-G Bro? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:26:10 So yeah, it's hard for me to like the commander so much. I did a live show in Philly last week and like the minute I start talking about, the minute I start talking about Jaden Daniels, people don't like it, but like I'm not that much of a homer then. I'm not going to tell you the truth. That's right. This kid's a problem. He's a problem this year.
Starting point is 01:26:25 This year. This team's a problem. It's a problem this year. Because that's why I say go get Devante Adams. Yes. If I'm Devante Adams, why would- Why would I ever want to play in New York? Bro, like after that, like stop it.
Starting point is 01:26:39 You see it or Roger? We'll get there. We'll get there, bro. Like, you don't want that, bro. We'll get there. Hey, DeVante, don't fuck your life up. Like, no, go, go, go put yourself more in history with the young quarterback. Yo, he's bawling.
Starting point is 01:26:51 I like this. I like this. We're going to basketball. Just get a feel. How about just anywhere but New York? We'll talk about that in a little bit. I want to talk about the Caleb Williams thing because Jaden Anno's and Caleb Williams are whether you like it or not going to be inextricably linked. And I have woken up today to a.
Starting point is 01:27:06 bunch of text messages and facetimes and videos. Kyle sent a video next to a bear's balloon. Like, like, he called me last night. He's like, I don't want to do a victory lap after one game, but, and I said, uh, and then we start talking about Jaden Daniels. And I was like, I don't want to do a victory lap after like four incredible games. And he goes, well, he, he's had a nice little month. You know, like, I think both sides are going to be moving the goalposts for a decade. And like, I'm big enough to admit that Caleb, is not the dumpster fire that I controlled for in analyzing the decision. I thought that there's a 50% chance that the kid's lost.
Starting point is 01:27:47 He's not lost. I don't think the offense until today look like they set it up for him. Like, and part of that's playing the Panthers. But I was also hearing that yesterday he played like the game of his life. I thought he played really well, but people saying that are not watching the other games because he's done good things so far this year. Like if what he did yesterday is like, okay, we're going to be fine, there was enough evidence
Starting point is 01:28:11 the first couple weeks to say, hey, we're going to be fine. I thought his toughness was on display in Houston. I thought at times the quick game has looked really good and on time when the timing is right. He's made a couple incredible throws on the run. He's also sailed some very easy balls that Jaden doesn't do, you know, like as much. That's the one area where Jaden on the 20 plus yard completions and incompletions, he's dotting people. And Caleb, I thought the one thing he'd do a little bit better coming in would just be, you know, hitting those special plays. And I thought maybe the underneath stuff, like the timing, they came out of the second, out of the half yesterday and went quick game. And that suited him very well. That suited him very
Starting point is 01:28:53 well, like really well. And another thing that suits him well is moving the pocket. So they did that more. I was standing on the table for them to move the pocket last week. They come out and they move the pocket. He looks, why not use his legs? But having said that, he is a rookie. And we just got done with Jaden who plays nothing like a rookie. This kid is still a rookie. The first throw of the game on and out is almost a pick six. Yeah, it was going on the other way. So I'm not trying to ho-hum things. I've actually not, I've been very fair with this kid. I picked you guys getting the playoffs and the strength of the defense. I thought eventually this guy comes along. We've said all year, if they figure out the quarterback position, they're one of two teams that can be
Starting point is 01:29:32 scary. The other one ironically is Pittsburgh and last night they took a step back. So another reason that Chicago fans are really excited this morning I think from a long play standpoint you can see this kid's going to be a good player in the NFL. He's a franchise quarterback and you know what I love
Starting point is 01:29:48 yesterday was hearing him bark at the offensive line sounding like a fucking quarterback yelling at these guys taking command. I loved how tough he was at Houston. I talk about that. I think he said all the right things. So all the things that people were holding against him, his nails, a purse, crying after a game. That painted a picture of a guy who's a diva. That painted a picture of a guy who's soft. That painted a picture of a guy who
Starting point is 01:30:15 might be a problem in the locker room. That would have never been the reason that I would have questioned making this pick. The reason I question making this pick is because not only is the chance that he's lost, he's not, he can play, but there's also the chance that you don't even get the right one. And so my question to Bears fans is, how good does Williams have to be on a macro level? And we're talking about narratives here. How good does Williams have to be over the next decade if Jaden Daniels is the guy that you justified making the pick with? Because Jaden Daniels looks like, like, you know, if we're going to look at that Williams game yesterday and say, yep, he's going to be good. What are you saying about the commander's tape?
Starting point is 01:30:55 Right. Because, you know, Williams is fun to watch right now. you can see the potential, but it's going to be a developing thing. And the schedule gets tougher. So I'm not trying to rain on your parade. I think you found a franchise quarterback. This is way more like a franchise quarterback
Starting point is 01:31:10 than anything you've had in some time. But at the same time, there is a guy in Washington who is going to dictate what the narrative is to a degree over the long haul. And so like Caleb has not only got to be the franchise quarterback, you said it. We make this pick because we think he can be Mahomes.
Starting point is 01:31:29 You got to see him a Homes like guy. And I don't mean he's got to be the best in the league. But I mean, you got to make multiple playoff runs with this guy. So the bar is high. This is a good start as a team. I thought the offense improved. To say that Caleb played his best game is fair. But to say that all of a sudden,
Starting point is 01:31:46 I'm seeing things that I haven't seen the first month of the season that give me reason to believe. I don't think you've been watching. I think the offense improved as a whole. I think the run game got going. I think Swift got going. They moved the pocket. They went quick game out of the game.
Starting point is 01:31:59 the half. Does he want some balls back? Yeah, he almost threw two of them to J.C. Horn and one over the middle and double coverage. But I'm only splitting hairs because I woke up this morning to like the parade route. You know what I mean? Like I hope the kid succeeds. I hope they pull up my Justin Fields takes last year and say, hey, you should have made the pick and you're wrong. I'm fine with that. That's not really my bag, college quarterbacking. This guy's pretty good, but he's got to be really good to keep pace with the guy in Washington. That's what's so fun about this thing. These guys coming in the league at the same time,
Starting point is 01:32:33 we got our next narrative rivalry a little bit. Exactly. And I want to take this opportunity to speak to the wonderful franchise of the Chicago Bears that I also played for. That also has alumni weekends. I want to see how I can possibly get on that email list because I would love. I would love to have another alumni kind of thing.
Starting point is 01:32:57 Yeah, like I would love to be. To be able to see Caleb Williams play and the current bears. They said, somebody in the chat said Daniels is older. And I'm not arguing with you, but in that case, then Bo Nix should look a lot better. And he looked good yesterday. I also said the Big Cat texted me last night and he was doing the thing. And I was like, Bo Nix made some nice throws too yesterday. So should we like, but they're not comparable because I'm honest.
Starting point is 01:33:25 And what's honestly apparent to me is this kid's got a lot of talent. that a lot of other quarterbacks don't have, including Bo Nix. And I could say the same thing on another echelon talking about the guy in Washington. I think the parade in Chicago is more a feeling of relief that he's not a bus. He's not a bus. Listen, there's a way that he ends up that way if you mismanage him. He's not that good where he's above being mismanaged. Listen, the first couple games of season, I'm questioning Shane Waldron a great deal.
Starting point is 01:33:55 This was a really good start for the offense as a whole. like it was malpractice at times you know and i'm not even talking about the offensive line because every rookie quarterback has to deal with protection issues i wasn't going to cry him a river over that but when the concepts look just kind of like willy-nilly and you're fucking it up at the goal line and you're not moving the pocket and you're not playing to his strengths and you're asking him do too much you're throwing the ball 50-something times in the game yesterday is the model can you do that against some of these better teams that you're going to play later in the season and i was I would ask, I would ask Jay Daniels the same thing.
Starting point is 01:34:31 Yeah. Because they played some stinkers. We'll find out next week in Baltimore. We're definitely going to find out. And remember last year, Baltimore made CJ Stroud in game one look like, like human, right? Not the guy we see now. How much lead in helps Jaden? Do you think like five games puts you in a position, four games puts you in a position
Starting point is 01:34:51 where you're ready for that challenge? At the very least, it puts the rest of your team in the position to believe in you. Like that offensive line, the way they talk about Jaden, like they're going to war for him. They're going to war for him. And I'll tell you this. Have to. Cliff's going to find the matchups. That's one thing that's played Baltimore early in the season. We talked about it yesterday with Cincinnati.
Starting point is 01:35:10 Of course, that's Burrow. But the quality of the throws this guy's making, there's no reason to believe if they don't get them, if they get the matchups, they can score points on Baltimore. The question to me is like that defense is playing above themselves. when Derek Henry's running downhill and you got to tackle Lamar who broke six tackles on a single play yesterday and hurdle the guy on another like it's just a different speed
Starting point is 01:35:35 so I think this is going to be a great test for them good days for both quarterbacks amazing day, amazing month for one and a really good game at a moment that you can build on for the other everybody wins if these guys are good absolutely everybody wins so looking forward to it
Starting point is 01:35:52 just got to keep them healthy yep yeah We got the London game. Oh, the London game. London. We got a London football. We got a London football. Listen, I think coming out of this game, we can make it about the Jets, and I will.
Starting point is 01:36:07 But the Vikings have earned the right to be the center of this breakdown. Like, this is from Kevin Seaford, who I think is great. Got to meet him in person. He's a Virginia alum. Yeah. Wahua. Kevin. Shout out to Kevin.
Starting point is 01:36:23 met him when we went up there for the Vikings game or the Vikings camp this is a tweet from him I'm paraphrasing the Vikings have trailed for only three minutes 26 seconds of this season per ESPN research that puts him in in the highest company only four teams since the merger have trailed for less time in games one through five and that is the 2009 saints the 1984 dolphins the two thousand twenty three nineers the 1999 Rams and the team right behind him, Reed. God's team, 1998 Broncos. They all won. Those are some of the best teams of all some of the best, some of the most like so again, the Vikings are another case study where you're like, for them not to be real, there's, listen, Sam Darnold's going to look like that sometimes.
Starting point is 01:37:11 Okay, like he's a damn good quarterback, I think. Like, you know, he's got a chance to to lead this team in the playoffs. But that's a good defense. And they've got guys outside, right? And you, you, you're still down Hawkinson and you're down Aaron Jones. So like for them to think he was going to look lights out, like probably not going to happen, but he missed some balls. Okay. They still were up 17 nothing in this game.
Starting point is 01:37:38 Okay. Like they overcame some mistakes early. The pitch fumble, you know, Jefferson almost had a fumble. I think there were maybe two, three turnover worthy type plays early in the game. And they still found a way to be up 17 nothing.
Starting point is 01:37:52 I would say to the Vikings, get rid of that near pick the first drive when you play Green Bay. Get rid of that play where Darnold throws the ball backwards against San Francisco and they get away with it. Get rid of the play where you're underhanding it in the red zone. They've survived all this shit and they still had a lead for damn near the whole season. Do you know how scary that is? To play the way the quarterback played, to lose your running back, and to make some of the mistakes you made early. And to play a team like the Jets that you thought. thought, and everybody said this, you're not going to fool Rogers. That's the one thing. We said
Starting point is 01:38:27 they're going to hit more in cuts, and I don't think they're going to fool Rogers. I think the Vikings win, but I don't think they're going to fool Rogers. The very first quarter, they set a trap for him, and he walks right into it, like a mouse, like piece of cheese right there, dude. And Van Ginkle, doing what he does best. Shout out to Van Ginkle, bro. Playing the ball, dude. He couldn't see through the haze. It's hazy. Purple Hayes. Now again, here's me being real and saying like, I didn't steal that
Starting point is 01:38:58 from anybody, but I have also seen where people have been, I'm not the first one, I don't think to call it Purple Hayes defense. So credit to whoever said it first. But like, that's a hell of a nickname for this team because if it's too hazy for Aaron Rogers, that guy knows how to operate in a dark room and he couldn't see Andrew
Starting point is 01:39:14 Van Ginkle. You know what I mean? He's right there. That's the one place they're like we want him to throw it there. And he did. He mugged up. He took his time. he popped out of there picked the ball off goes to the house like this gotta be this is impressive for for a coach who's calling plays yeah and like timing it up and just being like I'm calling this play right now yeah know exactly what's gonna happen and I know who's how it's going to happen and then for it to happen that way and you get the pick but then you get to pick six like it's bad dude that has to that has to feel amazing though to make that call like like like just like a mad and
Starting point is 01:39:49 Dude, make him call. B-Flo, I love calling defense is mad. B-Flow is my, is probably, it's a playbook I use most of the time. Also, a lot of B-D. Also multiple D. You like multiple D. You do. Yeah, you do.
Starting point is 01:40:01 What? Well, you get the one double man with the multiple D. B-Floh doesn't have like one double man, one-d-receiver-2. So the point is, is you've got the best coach group on defense. You have probably the best coach group on offense in the NFL. And, you know, even when you're quarterback, air mails some stuff and looks like a little loss when pressure's on him like you're up 17 to nothing in london okay like who's the veteran team who's the team that's been together a little longer
Starting point is 01:40:31 all line just got to keep them healthy they just got to keep them healthy and they've got a good offensive line but the point is Jefferson doesn't really Jefferson doesn't have like one of his signature days now he had almost 100 yards and people are saying he had a down day but you know like some of those penalties are a little tiki tag he's kind of getting the Jordan rule rules a little bit. But like, you throw the ball at him, good things happen. And so like he didn't have his best day. Aaron Jones is hurt. Donald didn't have his best day. Minnesota was up 17 nothing. Quarterback goes 14 to 31 for 179. You find a way to win there. And it's not a low scoring game. Like you found a way it was a low scoring game, but they had control. Like they jumped out to a lead.
Starting point is 01:41:12 They played things their way. And how about Nick Mullins coming in? Not insignificant. Nick Mullins comes in one play. One play throws. And he's just like, yeah, like, yeah, Let the KOC's like, yeah, let's just have you take a shot. Had them been empty. I love that for a coach. Like it just, I feel like that shows confidence in your player. And the confidence you put in the player. Exactly.
Starting point is 01:41:29 For a, for a quarterback to go in and like not have to just do a lazy ass handoff, like they put a play in in the flow of the game. And you're going to trust me coming off the bench to throw this pass. And then I nail it. Yeah. Even though I come right back out. But still, like that's big time. That's awesome, man.
Starting point is 01:41:45 It's everybody being ready. And it's a great coach team. And I'll say this, like, they're going to get Hawkinson back. Okay? When they get Hawkinson back, assuming they have Aaron Jones in these games where they have leads,
Starting point is 01:41:57 Hawkinson to me gives you a little bit more multi-dimensional looks. Like where right now I'm not afraid of the tight ends in the past game. So like when Hawkins is in, you can build 12 personnel and you can run it or you better be ready for him in the middle of the field. And I thought as they got into the game late,
Starting point is 01:42:14 like the run game was struggling. The guys outside are strapping. Like for the most part, they got guys like that. What happens when you play a team with good corners? You want to be able to attack the middle of the field. And I think he will be able to even better when Hawkinson gets back. So Gilmore, making the play to steal the game.
Starting point is 01:42:34 His first day was the day. They picked him up in August. It was like a throwaway. Yeah. It was like it wasn't front page news. You know, like we were worried about whatever. Picked a great spot and picked a great time to make a play because they were in danger losing this game.
Starting point is 01:42:49 And, you know, I think for the Jets, Rogers might be cooked. He might be cooked, bro. He might be two, listen. Three interceptions. I don't. Some bad plays. There's a lot of great stuff on that tape, too. Bro, I don't think he's cooked.
Starting point is 01:43:04 Bro, you see him doing the Fortnite crawl? The Fortnite, I didn't know what Fortnite crawl was. Like, when you, when you're dead and you need one of your teammates to revive you, Rogers was doing that, like, when he was on the ground, Crow. Is that what Mike Urban was doing? Oh, yes. That's a, yes. That's what Irvin was doing.
Starting point is 01:43:20 Yes, need revival. So the whole thing to me is I watched this game, and one of my biggest takeaways is, is this where Devante Adams wants to play football? He better not. Like, it's, there's something, no, I don't want to make light of, of, like, mental illness, but, like, there's something wrong, like, with your brain if you watch that. And you want to do it. Like, I just, like, think for your career.
Starting point is 01:43:43 I know, but nobody's, like, we haven't picked out anybody who's confirmed mentally ill. So you don't have to like qualify that You can say you have to be crazy If you want to play that And I think it's true No you do Because it looks like it looks like it's a bit of a shit show And I know some people are gonna say
Starting point is 01:43:59 The media is making it that way But it's been a big story factory Since the summer Whether there's Reddick or Rogers being gone Which might not have been a big deal But just tell people Control the narrative Or like when you're talking about the cadence
Starting point is 01:44:13 And Sala says one thing And it's a game of telephone And then Rogers looks pissed at Sala it's just that and Wilson's saying I don't know what we're doing offensively like yeah he's probably right you know I think this is the problem you want to say Rogers cooked either way I think he's still got it but here's the problem he doesn't got it to the degree that he can turn this team into a contending team because the front is not good enough okay and one thing I fell for last year when I thought they'd be good is that the front would be better and I thought maybe he would make the front
Starting point is 01:44:45 better but the front's not better both guards got beat bad you know like there were moments um you want an interesting stat what through five games last year jets 93 points with zach wilson through five games this year jets 93 points yep with error so part of it is like hey we're gonna sit here and say it's the o line which part of it is you're gonna say tight ends have to block better in the run game which they do you're going to say that it's breese hall's fault last week when he can't run the ball into stack boxes and they're not using them right then this week alan who is supposed to be you know he's the better back he goes nine for 13 okay like nine carries 13 yards the problem isn't any one person is just a poorly designed group yeah and the the offensive coordinator all right like you can get mad at me if you're hearing this, and like, Aaron Rogers could be pissed at me saying this,
Starting point is 01:45:48 but like, I trust you. I don't trust Hackett. And the problem is, you're the one who brought Hackett in. You know, like somebody said to me, the other day,
Starting point is 01:45:59 we're going down the line talking about the chess. They're like, I go, who hired the offensive coordinator? And he goes, Sala. I go, no,
Starting point is 01:46:05 Rogers did. Sala's never hiring him if Rogers done that. So what organizations, there's another coach speak, are perfectly designed for their, outcome they're they they are perfectly designed for their outcomes for the most part right and so when
Starting point is 01:46:21 you're the one helping to build this this group yeah i want lazard i want hack it here call and plays like i don't know what else he's he's he's lord over i want the offense run this way eventually where all this is like get on my page i agree you know like get on the hall of famous page but yesterday when he mails the ball to Lizard, and he said this after the game, that's him. When he misses whoever was on the right sideline, with a chance to win the game,
Starting point is 01:46:51 that's him. You know, when there's a miscommunication with Mike Williams on the pick, I'm talking about two separate plays on the drive. I'm talking about the ball he sailed. And then the miscommunication there, like these are all things, when everybody's miscommunicating,
Starting point is 01:47:07 maybe it's not you, but it might be the offense. And you brought this guy here. And so like the frustration level for Garrett Wilson is like, I'm in no better a situation than I was last year catching the ball from Zach Wilson. He knows who. Because I don't have a number two to take pressure off me.
Starting point is 01:47:21 And now you want to go trade for Devante Adams. If I'm Devante Adams, I don't want to be there. Yeah. For all the reasons I've outlined in the last couple weeks. And an offense that's in disarray five weeks into the season in October, how are you going to add another ingredient and think it's all going to, that to me is like it's the most unrealistic, list sometimes it sucks because a football team is built in the off season and once the season starts,
Starting point is 01:47:48 it's really hard to fix the football team. If it were easier, teams would just have easy outs. That's the hardest thing about a football season is if it's not going well, sometimes they lock the gates on you for 16, 17 weeks and you can't get out and there's nothing you can do. And I don't know that trading for Devante Adams fixes this. They might get better in that when they come across like the Broncos again and Sartan's a racing Garrett Wilson or you know he might have to match up with Devante then you have a number two but just a number two is not going to fix his team like it's not going to fix his team maybe it will but I still think they're going to struggle to run the football right I still I still think they're going to struggle to be in the right concepts and I still
Starting point is 01:48:29 think Aaron Rogers can't really move so like you have to you have to be able to protect him like and I don't think they can so and that's like you're saying it's it's it's They put Granard on Foshana. A little bit. Fourth quarter, it was like, yeah. This is Roger's fault. And then, like, for people trying to say that the, the few weeks that he wasn't in training camp, like, it doesn't matter.
Starting point is 01:48:50 When you see timing issues with quarterbacks and receivers getting into the season, five weeks, whatever it is, that's stuff that you need to take care during camp. Like, you're with new receivers, new timing, new mechanism. They're talking about the snap count still. That's all stuff that I feel like is low key. Like, yo, bro, like, you put this on yourself and, like, deal with it. Like, you're pulling the strings and you have to figure it out. And a lot of it, you got to get it done one way or another.
Starting point is 01:49:19 He's one of the greatest of all time. He's one of the people that I've really enjoyed watching playing. Like, I love watching Rogers play. And I do hear when he's your teammate, he's a lot less like. Desirable. No, he's a lot less like, you know, us on the outside. We see the sound bites. We see whatever he says on McAfee, we see, I'm a good guy.
Starting point is 01:49:39 guy most people like me in my personal circle i think i think so the guys behind the mic maybe not so might have a different but the point is like there are some people that hate me because i'm on a show saying whatever i'm saying there are people that hate me because they heard me say something ideologically that's that doesn't line up with but most people that meet me are like that's a good dude i'm not saying rogers is a bad guy i never play with him i don't know him i mean i met him a couple times she's cool to me but that doesn't mean that his attitude might be a little bit of the problem where all of a sudden, I think it's got to be a thing where instead of, it's everybody's got to get on Aaron's page,
Starting point is 01:50:16 it's like, no, Aaron, you're on the team too, and you're part of, everybody's part of the problem here. So they need that reset, whereas a team, they come together and say, like, nobody's immune from the suck here. We suck right now. We all suck, including Rogers, who told you this after the game, like, I wasn't my best. And so I think maybe him having a bag of,
Starting point is 01:50:39 game might be good for the team. Yeah. Because it'll allow them to get on the same page where it's like, hey, we all got to fix it. But fixing it is not going to put them in the Super Bowl. That's just the way the fucking Jets were designed this year. And that's, that sucks to hear, especially when you have Rogers, who was supposed to be so good and he was at one point in this career that he could make everything better. Just fans are cussing you out right now. Are they? Are they? Oh, the chat loves the sex. So, I mean, like, I'm just being real, dude. Like, I don't hate Rogers. I'm not hating on Rogers.
Starting point is 01:51:12 But what I am, I'm just being real. Like, this team is not. And Devante Adams, as much as it might hurt Rogers to hear that he doesn't want to be there, I would anticipate that he might go somewhere else. You know, and who knows? Maybe they trade him somewhere. And Devante's like, hey, AP, don't trade me in New York and just say the other team was offering more compensation or something like that.
Starting point is 01:51:35 Because if I had a chance to go to Buffalo or Washington, I'm going there in a heartbeat because not only do I get a chance to win, I get chance to get targeted, I get good quarterback play and quarterbacks that are probably going to play another five years, at least. But Rogers isn't going to play another three years. He might play another one after this unless he's going to tell me otherwise. I think we're being, are we not being, um, just thinking optimistically if Antonio Pierce would want to do anything to help him in a trade? When he wanted to send him to the worst. To the worst. To Siberia, to like New England? Yeah, the worst situation.
Starting point is 01:52:09 And I do think eventually, Antonio being a former player, will not do something to ruin this guy's life. That's, bro, sending someone somewhere to get, to get paid millions is not ruining. You sound like a fan right now. I'm, bro, that's not ruining someone. You just, you just said, hold on a second. If you're making business, if you're not doing your job at,
Starting point is 01:52:31 at the highest level that you can, and it's on tape that you're doing that, like, why realistically? I'm with you. I said this early in the week, when your head coach is liking pictures talking about you going somewhere else, that means that there's some sort of like get him the fuck out of here. And when you're coming up with a hammy, and that's one thing people that are looking at Devante trade should realize the guy's got a hammy. Hammy.
Starting point is 01:52:53 I don't know what's going. I'm joking because I don't think it's a hammy. No, that's the easy thing to say. Here's the point. Here's the point. You said it. You go, is there some chance that he's going to send you to the worst place ever? And what I'm saying, it's all relative.
Starting point is 01:53:06 He's not sending you to like the gulag. Yeah. Like you're a football player making a lot of money, but but when you're 31, you never want to ring and you're trying to get out of a place that's in purgatory, it feels relatively speaking like that when you have to go to New England or something like that. And you're like, I don't even know how Drake May is going to be. And by the time they're good, maybe I'm 34. Like there is a lesser of two evils here. No, no. But it's also like, you know, you might hit the lotto. Like the guys, there's guys that like we're just talked about earlier. There's guys in the community. commanders they're just like oh my god i thought i thought my i thought my career was yeah yeah i'm gonna end my career here yeah on a terrible team no one cares about we don't get played we don't get aired on tv we don't get no prime time games so that could be you're saying it could be new england if drake may is that good but that's a hell of a gamble right okay so i'll say this um god what was the last thing i was going to say about this fucking team um what were we just talking about
Starting point is 01:54:07 Aaron Rogers Man It's got to be tough To get what you wish for And it's exactly what you wish for What did you think was gonna happen Through Through five weeks in 2023
Starting point is 01:54:21 The Jets had 93 points And five weeks through 2024 they've 94 points You guys say that sorry Yeah no you're good No but it should be said twice It should be said twice Anybody else want to read that stack
Starting point is 01:54:34 Because that's fucking crazy That's nuts Zach Williams probably seen that. Zach Wilson, best seat in the house. Best seat in the house, Jack Wilson, maybe. I wish he would have liked that tweet.
Starting point is 01:54:45 Yeah. But the last thing I would say this, Washington, the reason Washington makes so much sense, Nate, and you in the chat tell me if I'm crazy, is this not the year to outscore people? Look around the league. Is this not the year to score 40 points a game, no matter how bad your defense is
Starting point is 01:55:02 and have a chance to win games? The Bengals would tell you otherwise, right? But I think that I really do think I really do think if you want to get into the playoffs and start this guy's career off the right way you might get in the playoffs anyways, right? But imagine if you added another number one and imagine if you added like an important piece
Starting point is 01:55:24 with a mid-round pick on defense before the trade deadline. That's being all in. Listen, call me crazy. Because you only got this guy on his rookie deal once. Call me crazy. Yeah. I feel like Magic Johnson. and he already talking to Devante Adams.
Starting point is 01:55:37 Some way somehow. I just, I just believe, I feel like he's a, he's a business guy. You think he texted, you think Magic Johnson texted Devonthe and was like, the Jets lost 20 to 17 in London,
Starting point is 01:55:49 where your friend Aaron Rogers threw three interceptions. I can see him doing that. I can see him be like that. I think he's a business guy. Jayden Daniels is exciting. Yeah. Jayden Daniels is exciting.
Starting point is 01:55:59 He threw for 336 yards yesterday or whatever he threw for. All right. So that was the, 1 p.ms and including the 9.30 a.m., which to me is good. I like a 930 in the morning. I love. I love you West Coast people have it good. It was awesome. And before we get to the afternoon games, let's hear from our friends at bedmgm. Let's hear from my friends at betmgm. Betmgm did you see me last night? We called out that we caught it in the room. Zeke Elliott having trouble putting on his fucking shoulder pads. I got you guys. I got you on the
Starting point is 01:56:31 Rico Dowdowdoll props. Because I got, because I got, I got a staff and we watch games, okay? And the cameras in the locker room. And Zeke can't even put on his shoulder pads. That was the freest money of all time. Do you think it was more because he couldn't put on his shoulder pads or he had one of those wraps? Oh, the wraps were disgusting, bro.
Starting point is 01:56:52 That was the anti-bevel Conway. We'll get there. Okay. So as you know, we've teamed up with BetMGM. We'll be using BetMGM lines to make all our picks and we'll have special offers for you listeners each week. Starting point is 01:57:52 great game you know the cadence was never a problem before you guys were running the ad reads all right so so anyways it's the four pms the four pms I have never done cocaine in my life some of y'all think I'm lying
Starting point is 01:58:09 do you think I'm lying do a poll you know me you know me though yeah I'm never done it no not lying not putting that shit up my nose I don't know plus nowadays you don't even know what it is
Starting point is 01:58:21 okay so it's not a good time to start doing cocaine but I felt like the one p.m.'s felt like cocaine I felt like the 1 p.ms felt like what people act like in the movies when they're on cocaine is what I felt like watching the 1 p.ms. And then the 4 p.ms are like whatever happens to you people that do cocaine the next couple days where you're not happy. Because the 4 p.ms, it was just a big come down after that Houston and Buffalo game
Starting point is 01:58:47 and the Cincinnati game and watching these rookie QBs. It's just, it was perfect. And then we had like the weirdest games in the world. Like the 4 p.ms, they almost. take on their own personality like there's a very there's a is a very jean-s-saint-quois about the four pms that i just can't put my finger on it's like the football is just i don't know genesis what does that mean suck a i don't know right it means i don't know how to say it right i don't know how to say it i don't know how to say it but green bay l.a was just fucking weird
Starting point is 01:59:22 san franciscoe o'rizona was weird they didn't have a kicker san franciscoe go have a kicker. Vegas in Denver, Bo Nix, that was like a clear under. And it was, they end up with like 55 points. Seattle and New York ends on a guy jumping over. Oh, love it. Another guy to block a field going, run it back for a touchdown. The guy doesn't even get down. He just runs into the end zone. The deep tackle did jump on top of the center on that. That is the thing I think they met. Yeah. Okay. Let's start with Green Bay, L.A. Did you guys notice? And I hope it doesn't become a thing that since Jordan Love put on the Brett Farb jersey, he's doing a lot of Brett Farby things.
Starting point is 02:00:01 Oh, my God. Including the 60-R bomb and the thing in the end zone. We're like, is it young? We have the Detroit Hangover Theory. Now we have the Brett Farvier. Yeah, dude. Next thing you know, you're going to start defrauding people. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 02:00:17 So anyway, I say that, cannot. Doesn't he have like, does everything's loaded? Doesn't, no. Matt's like no we're not we're not going there we're not going there that's totally separate from this issue yeah um and i hope he's okay i really do because he's a human being dude he's a human being okay obviously human beings make mistakes and boy was that a mistake what happened down there in mississippi get healthy so you can pay those those people's back come on bro i'm not laughing you don't see me laughing okay but but when you put on the brett farb jersey it kind of becomes
Starting point is 02:00:53 like like you get possessed and you just start doing shit like doesn't you just start doing shit like on his own. But I will say this, this was a really good game on a lot of fronts for Green Bay, because it wasn't perfect. You were coming to the game with a big issue, Romeo Dobbs, my guy, love Romeo Dobbs. I'm telling you, on my training camp tour, there wasn't, there wasn't anybody that I was more hyped to see in person from a distance than Romeo Dobbs. I was like, there he is. It's the next great receiver. It sounds like he's frustrated, right? And I don't know what happened, what precipitated this, like. You have to be so frustrated, bro, to skip practice twice in season.
Starting point is 02:01:34 That's like, I mean, have you, I've never played on team. I've played on a team where a guy or two did that, but they weren't on teams where things were going well, you know? Like, that to me, that to me is the part that's disappointing because things are going well for your team. Yeah. And your quarterback needs you, the other receivers need you. You know, the vibes are high, you know, like the vibes are high, you know, like the
Starting point is 02:01:55 vibes are high so when your personal vibes are not high and things are good it is your job as a competitor and i know it hurts when you're because you find something because listen there's a thin line between self between being selfish in the NFL and not and like you have to be selfish to want to make plays like you want to be the guy yes you want to be the guy i was always on that line i was a great team player like people talk about me like a great teammate but i was selfish i wanted to be the one to make the play i want my snap because I was I was born to play football and I got one chance to do it and I have earning potential and just period I love to fucking play and I want to be out there on third down but there's also times where it's not about you and for me like without knowing everything about the situation I don't want to slander my guy he's young he'll be back they'll work it out LaFloor is a great dude and this is a great organization but in this situation it was disappointed to hear that something happened because you got to understand the context of the situation.
Starting point is 02:02:58 If you're not happy with the flow you're in, part of it is because that quarterback has been off the field for a couple weeks. It's just not going to be the same for a period. And now he's back. So if you just wait a second, you know, like, but skipping practice to me and, you know, as a former player, I end up in these situations now where I saw it with Max Crosby yesterday
Starting point is 02:03:19 and no one wants to be on the blunt end of that. Or Max Crosby, a guy who's a fucking stud and a mensch, and like the ultimate teammate and a guy that I would go to war for and I never played with him is there talking about somebody on the McAfee show talking about his questioning his injury and his, I never want to be the guy that the players hearing me talk and say like, that guy doesn't get it. So if there's something I don't get about this scenario, I am sorry.
Starting point is 02:03:46 But what could it be when you miss two practices on your own accord in the middle of a season where your team's got aspirations of a deep playoff run, winning the North and you are a big part of it my guy. So I don't know what that is, but they got to get it fucking fixed. Now, the positives, they're going into this game and they, they throw that pick six in the end zone
Starting point is 02:04:10 and then get scored on again and you're like, holy shit, like you got smacked in the face. You're on the road. The Rams are beat up and they're still beating you. And I just thought the defense stepped up in a few spots and changed the cadence of this game. Like Xavier McKinney, now he's got a pick in every game this season.
Starting point is 02:04:30 You want to talk about DPOY odds. Why do you keep throwing his way? What do you mean? So why would you keep, why don't you get you playing? Well, I'll tell you why he threw his way because Carl Brooks, who's in there for Devante Wyatt is bearing down on him like a locomotive, also beat a guard for a sack where he just hip toss that SOB. I love the way he played.
Starting point is 02:04:49 He's bearing down on him. Stafford's forcing balls. McKinney comes away with it. Fifth and five games, six and six games, right? Fifth and five games, six and six games, yes? From last year? Yeah. So, I mean, it's, yeah, right?
Starting point is 02:05:06 Okay. So five and five games, if he has ten interceptions this year, is he in that conversation? Absolutely. Right? Like, you have to be. You have to be. You have to be. So this is like, I mean, you talk about a free agent.
Starting point is 02:05:19 This isn't a guy you drafted. This is a guy, like you took him from somewhere else. You made this decision. your safety room last year was a problem. You bring him in immediate returns. Evan Williams, who has one of the coolest names in a defensive backfield, anywhere in America, right? Smooth. Ends up with the game-winning PBU.
Starting point is 02:05:37 He's all over the field. I think he had like 10-11 tackles. Bullard plays pretty well. The front, Carl Brooks, I talked about him. And a baré has made some big plays for them. And then Edgaring Cooper, who's not beating a bunch of people with pass-rush moves, but he's an athlete. You need a guy who can blitz and add. like one of the things to talk about Minnesota that suits them so well it's not just the blitzes it's
Starting point is 02:06:00 not just bringing in the right people it's bringing in guys that can add and blitz well that is a skill i was a terrible game runner like if you to loop me inside i felt you know what i mean that's where a lot of free plays come yeah but there's some guys that just run through traffic really well and and i think that uh like as evidence by yesterday like pace coming in there and share shaking Elijah Vera Tucker like a pass rusher or Cashman running a game with the end and like ricocheting and making a play a couple weeks ago they have the right guys having good blitzing players good adding players who who when the entire line disappears as you and the quarterback can make that play he's a guy like that so I think that's good for the defense and that one drive on the first
Starting point is 02:06:46 drive really showcase everything they can be the bomb I mean Jaden Reed I'll say it again and Jaden Reed, I hope you hear this, and I hope you feel this, because it's criminal how much, how little credit you get. Like, he's one of the most underrated offensive players in the league, and I don't mean that in a way like he's an eight and people are saying he's a six. This guy's a tan, a fucking 10, man. This guy's like, he's real, dude. So you come in the season, you ask who's your number one?
Starting point is 02:07:20 You have three horses outside. And right now, Jaden is playing great. You know, Wix has dropped some balls. Okay? I want to remind people of this, Packers fans. When Devante Adams came to the league, he dropped balls. Like, I was on the set of inside the NFL last week, and we were talking about Devante. And Bill was like, oh, fuck, Devante.
Starting point is 02:07:41 And he's like, we made him famous. Back whatever year it was, we played him, and we doubled the shit out of Jordy and Ellison. We doubled this guy. And then this guy killed us. And it was like from that point on, he just exploded on the scene. And he's so good now. It's easy to forget that he didn't start fast. It's another lesson when you look at draft picks is like it takes time.
Starting point is 02:08:05 He had drops early. Wicks will be fine. He's going through a little spell right now. And I think Tucker Kraft adds something that like in the second half when you see him, fastest speed by a tight end in the NFL thus far this season, 19.7 miles per hour. on the 66 yarder. So he- I was unfamiliar with your game.
Starting point is 02:08:25 Tucker, not as a player, but as a runner. Bro, that's not fast. That means you're, Joe Flacco's fast, bro. I understand that's, but you hear what I just said though? Yeah.
Starting point is 02:08:35 Have all the tight ends forgot how to run? No, that's true. You know what I mean? Yeah, for sure. So I don't know, like in an era where all the tight ends are fast guys, maybe they just got,
Starting point is 02:08:45 Flacco needs to like, you know how you used to go like, you used to go, you used to go, uh, protest the ticket in court. Like, I wasn't really his radar gun was broken. Kind of that with a flag.
Starting point is 02:08:56 I don't think he was running that fast. But overall, man, there were a lot of good things for the Packers. And just to follow up, Xavier McKinney is now 25 to 1 on Bet MGM. Put it in now. Put it in now. I'm going to put it in right now. And the other thing about Jaden Reed that we didn't mention, he's been getting carries every single week.
Starting point is 02:09:15 Every single game, he's gotten at least one carry. And he's averaging like 14 yards of carry. mini Debo Samuel. Yeah. That's the thing about him positionally. Yeah. Okay. It almost works against him because people are like, he does so many things that he gets
Starting point is 02:09:30 discredited as like, because he looks like a slot, like he does a lot of slot stuff. It's like I'm in Ross St. Brown. Right. You're going to tell me he's not elite. You know what I'm saying? It's like all of a sudden, back in the day, it used to be left tackles only. Yeah. Well, now, Lane Johnson is the best pass protector left tackle in football.
Starting point is 02:09:49 in my opinion. Okay. Some of the best rushers rush on the left. And that's been the way it's been the last 10, 15 years. So slot receiver, you can still be elite.
Starting point is 02:10:00 And also you get a ball out of the backfield. From the Rams standpoint, this is a totally open-ended question. Is, are we seeing it with Stafford or is this like 22? Or whatever year that was where he just,
Starting point is 02:10:14 he pumped faked us. He played dead and he's not dead. I don't think he's dead. at all i'm not gonna kill staffer no cup no puka hard to judge he's gonna get cut cut back now the question is for the team is the team debtor they cook i'm not gonna count i'm not gonna count macbay i want to know something what last time the rams were started one and four i was on team they were in st louis for sure what year was in kris louis 2014 was on the 2014 well no honestly i got hurt that year rolled up on so i don't know anything about that the
Starting point is 02:10:45 first came of hill load halt fell on my leg That's why I'm washed now Dude, I might still be playing You know Fuck anyways Bro don't remember the person who fell on your leg Oh, I totally remember And I'm gonna tell you
Starting point is 02:10:59 And I'm gonna tell you who the very next year Broke my leg up at Lambo It was my boy David Boktiari Not on purpose But it was Robert Quinn and David Boktiari Robert dipping under David They're both on the ground And I'm trying to get by Balaga
Starting point is 02:11:15 And he just undercuts my leg And I broke my tibia So I remember you never forget that stuff. Never forget that stuff. And when I saw him at Bustin this year at the like we chopped it up and remembered that play, you know what I'm saying? It was funny because I landed on my feet. But had I ended up like a total loser? It could have been bad. I'd have been mad at David. All right. So the other thing is Trey White was a healthy scratch. So that's not working out. San Francisco, Arizona. We don't need to spend too much time on this game.
Starting point is 02:11:49 Those jerseys, those white, those icy whites. Kyler running for 50 yards scrambling with those feet. Those little, bro, those little, bro, those little feet. And then he knows when he's about to score that no one. And then I don't know if you guys, you see the version of when he scored, you can see him. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 02:12:10 I like that. I'm happy for him, bro. Yeah, me too. He pointed at the 40. He was at the 40 and he knew he was going to score and he was like putting out that far. where did I see something really slick yesterday where there was a long run was it Cardinals and no and the receivers fake like they were catching a deep ball to keep jSN that was that was Seattle jsn was running down the field that was really good guys with him good thing it was all for not
Starting point is 02:12:36 because you can't fucking block the guy that they signed just to do that no he does other stuff but the point is the niners coming in this game we knew it was going to be a battle for them when you play a team that put up almost 30 points against you last year and your defense isn't necessarily better right now. Like the Cardinals were going to move the ball. And when you got James Connor who can run the ball and ran through by my count like multiple Bosa tackles, Warner tackles, like when you're, when you got a couple guys like that on the ledger on a Sunday, like you're a dog. James Connor's a dog, dude. And having him just raises the floor of this offense so much. And it also kept them kind of chipping away in a game where the Niners were one.
Starting point is 02:13:17 for six in the red zone and you had including the jordan mason fumble um you kind of bail the cardinal's defense out and they don't have a kicker and then you're a kicker so you just end up in a weird spot where at the end of the game like it's it's kind of it's kind of uncharted territory how many how many coaches do you think practice often situations where hey are kickers down like this is what we're doing because i i think i think all of them but in this situation I don't know what the fuck happened. I mean, you lay out like, Moody got hurt.
Starting point is 02:13:51 You lay out like emergency. But kickers don't get hurt a lot. But also like you don't have to go for it on fourth and 23 just because you can't kick a field goal. You can punt. You can pun it. Like that's an easy coughing corner punch. You can pun it.
Starting point is 02:14:04 You can do whatever you want. Like there were things with with, you know, late in that game that I would have done a little different about San Francisco. But all in all, I think what this game tells you is again, like the Niners are human right now. They really are. They really are. And I'm a big party fan.
Starting point is 02:14:19 I think he's a damn good quarterback. He's not the problem. The problem to me is you're so used to having this Swiss Army knife and Christian McCaffrey that you look at it and you're like, well, Jordan Mason's running for a bunch of yards. And he's a good back. But you had a back and a, you said it, like a starting slot receiver in the NFL. Yeah. And all the things that you can do with Christian McCaffrey, you can no longer do.
Starting point is 02:14:43 Especially in the red zone too. In the red zone, that's so many issues. But also, too, for D coordinators, for teams, you don't have to, you don't have to, like, um, account, like, resources for Christian McCaffrey. When you play, play this team. And like you're saying, like, you don't have to, you can bend as much time and practice that week in red zone,
Starting point is 02:15:02 thinking about all the different things he can do. Like, now you, they know what guys it is. You spend more time thinking about, like, the meat and potatoes. Because now this team is more of a meat and potatoes team. Yeah. When you usually play them, they're not a meat and potatoes team. It's like, Every it's like matchups nightmare.
Starting point is 02:15:17 Yeah. It's a matchup nightmare for people. I'm going to dig into this all 22 a little bit more and talk about it more on the pod later in the week. But just a big win for Arizona, like an affirming win. Like this wasn't fluky. Yeah, the kicker thing was fluky. But you played with this team before. Did you see the fourth and five completion to Marvin Harrison?
Starting point is 02:15:39 It was the play of the game. Beautiful. It was the play of the game. When he threw it, when he, his little. little body left the ground and he was all like we i didn't i didn't know where he was so i was like it's a pick there's no way that's a desperation he going somehow but he knew where the leverage was and just threw it up and that's the thing with him is like his ability to to to stretch a pocket like the pocket doesn't exist traditionally with him and he's not the only one but like that's
Starting point is 02:16:10 terrifying to rush him slows rushers down extends plays the fact that he's he can see it that's truly a fuck it he's down there somewhere situation i can't believe he can see that stuff um boat peterson uh dropped us a super chat question he wanted to know what's the biggest thing the cards need to do to improve they played a lot of close games with ganon with the exception of a few bad losses and beating teams they weren't supposed to well getting mcbride back helps right and then also i think adding to the defense right like you talk about this is an offense that is a playoff caliber offense when you prepare for this offense and thank you for for the, Beau, for the, the, the, the, the, the, the super chat.
Starting point is 02:16:49 And thank you to everybody in the chat. I fucking love you all in the words of Chad, Ocho Cinco. I, I just, you have to decide how ready you think you are. I think you're ready. You just got to give up some capital to get somebody who can rush the passer, in my opinion. Call the Browns. Cool, call the Browns, but I think call Hassan Reddick, wherever the fuck he is. You know, I think there's probably a couple more teams in the next couple weeks that you're going to look at as Sal
Starting point is 02:17:15 right you know like there there are if the bangles lose three more games you call trey hendrickson yeah you you don't call tray directly but do the eagles call tray hendricks oh if the eagles called trey hendrickson you know like hutchinson was like a my like mini white comp but it made no sense because the guy's so big and strong and long and like he's just a beast And Hendrickson and me are really similar. Doppler gangers. And when Henderson came out, I'll never forget, like, coming up to get my jersey, I was like, who is this kid?
Starting point is 02:17:54 He's like, I knew who he was. I was like, I've seen him on tape. I like him, but like, I don't know, you know, much about him. And then to see him kind of like go off on this tear, he is the guy. He's like, he's the guy that I would model my game after if I had gone before him or after him. You know what I mean? And if he could go to.
Starting point is 02:18:15 Philly, man, and I can see Trey every once in a while, like up there, see Tray in a Kelly Green uniform? But yeah, we're talking about the Cardinals. How they can improve is adding a rusher, in my opinion. Yeah, in my opinion. Currently second to last in the league and average time to pressure. They should go get miles. Miles. Yeah, well, I mean, they could go get miles, but I'd rather him out in Philly. That would kill me if somebody traded for miles, and it wasn't my, my birds. Bro, cut it out with the birds. What do you mean? Right. Like, we get it. You're a fan. Bro, we've only talked about him for three minutes in this show. We did a whole segment about how you went down to Jacksonville.
Starting point is 02:18:52 Hold on. We get it. We get it. Everything is about a free trip to you. And we made the last two weeks of the Jacksonville. You glazed the Eagles so. How am I glazing the Eagles? Bro, you're shunning us from going to see the best quarterback in the next 10 years right up the street. So that's a glazing of the Eagles? Because I'm such an Eagles fan. I can't go to the Commander Stadium. It's crazy. I'm not going to the Commander Stadium because I don't want to get Tetanus, bro. If you've consumed any of my content this year,
Starting point is 02:19:23 you would see that I'm not glazing the Eagles on the regular. It's quite the opposite. I am fucking distraught over where they are right now because I have a bet for them to win the NFC East and it's not going to be pretty if they don't. It's not going to be pretty for anybody in the studio either. We just start cutting the budget in here. That includes like free tickets to Carnival cruises.
Starting point is 02:19:43 You're talking about going on a carnival cruise. cruise on our dollar. Fuck no. Put in the chat if you want some carnival cruise content. Oh, it's so important that the Jags win because I'm coming down there. And they did it, baby. Do, boy. We just unboxed a bunch of fucking coupons from your trip to Jacksonville. And I'm glazing the Eagles.
Starting point is 02:20:10 Oh, man. I don't know. You can't win with you sometimes. Okay. I'm hating. Isn't it crazy? The way he just, you're like the guy who disarms the guy and the gun comes,
Starting point is 02:20:23 is right in his hand. Like you just turn everything around. Like, you're hating on the Eagles and I'm hating somehow. That makes no sense. I feel gaslit. Miles Garrett, the Cardinals,
Starting point is 02:20:34 you'll look great in all white. He would look great in Kelly Green. Don't you do that. Don't you plant that seed. Okay? Vegas. Denver. Cowboy. How do we feel? Riley Moss, the first white corner to intercept the pass in this millennium. Is that true? He's got a little bunnies. I don't know about that. I'll have to look at that again. I read that and I'm like, well, it can be true. He's got some bunnies. He, two balls. He picked off one and then A. Neil O'Connell somehow floated one right over, right over him to Tray Tucker. But yeah, this is pretty sick. This feels good. Three game win streak. Offense. Like we should have one more touchdown.
Starting point is 02:21:14 Troy Franklin, like just too far for him. Bo Nix took it on the chest. He was like, yeah, that's on me. I got to throw it just a hair shorter. And that's what a 30-year-old quarterback does. What a guy. You know what else he does? He gives it back to Sean Payton.
Starting point is 02:21:29 I just want to say that, can I say something? Because I understand. The first thing I thought about when he did this was, what would they say if that was a black quarterback? The first thing I thought about. But I wouldn't have had a, like, I don't have a problem with it because of the situation. I know that. And Tarana, Armstead came out and quote tweeted it, who played for Sean Payton.
Starting point is 02:21:49 He's like, looks like Sean Payton has a new best friend. Yep. There is something about Sean Payton where that's what he wants. He wants to be challenged. He wants to challenge you. He wants to be challenged. I don't know if maybe part of the reason he didn't like Russ was because Russ didn't challenge him. Well, there was a side by side of Bo Nix arguing him.
Starting point is 02:22:08 And then last year with Russ and Sean Payton's going after Russ and Russ is just stone face, like looking at him. But I think people like, the people that are. celebrating this we did think i did think about it i the first thing i thought about was like hey if it was a rookie if it was caleb and he's yelling at eberflus like everybody's gonna paint that differently let's be real but i also know who the coach is too and like i also know he kind of picked the guy not because he's the best quarterback ever he picked him so he can be his like film junkie buddy that like they just fucking they they they they hash it out like two adults and i thought that was a really interesting exchange dude just because
Starting point is 02:22:44 come best friend? Yeah. In the post-game press conference, Sean Peyton was like, I freaking love Bo to death. And he did the Ferris Bueller thing. And you could tell that after that exchange, Sean Payton was like, yeah. And I'm not looking to do a think piece, but that is a real thing. Yeah. I mean, that's a real thing. I mean, like, and as a football player, I also know enough to know that it's not a problem, knowing Sean Payton and hearing Taran Arnstead talk about it and hearing like the people in the broadcast. Well, somebody was talking about the fact that like you knew from talking to Drew Breeze that Sean likes being challenged. So I think those cards are on the table.
Starting point is 02:23:21 What else from the game? Oh, like I said, oh, go ahead. No, no, no, I was going to say, we finally got a running game. Like, Giovante Williams finally ran the ball a little bit. We got some, we got some backs. We're getting the ball to wide receivers. The first half sucked. It was like, it was a little tough for, especially for the Raiders jump out to a pretty big lead.
Starting point is 02:23:39 Yeah. And they almost scored a, you know, they were about to score again before PS2. is like I'm the best corner in the league and like maybe one of the goats and he is yeah and like I said if I'm going to win this over eight and a half games bet it is going to be because of chris allen patrice certain and I said I will buy a jersey with my winnings and I feel like I might if he keeps playing like this I might have to buy it before oh dude I want that jersey in that color and here's the thing when they took the field yesterday it was better than I thought it would look.
Starting point is 02:24:17 Like they should copyright those two colors and not let anybody else use them. They have found the secret sauce, the magic potion is the combination of that shade of orange and that shade of blue. And I know we've seen it before, but the NFL you would think doesn't know what a good fucking uniform looks like.
Starting point is 02:24:35 You would think the NFL is trying not to make money for their merchandise. Unless there's just a huge market for drab navy blue teams. Right. Because I'm looking at this uniform and I'm like, they never lose again. They wear this uniform.
Starting point is 02:24:49 And it's the same thing I have to say when the Eagles wear their Kelly Greens. It's the same thing I have to say when the bucks wear the the cream circles. When the Falcons throw the red. When the Titans wear the oilers.
Starting point is 02:25:03 If I was Houston, I would sue the Titans and get that uniform back. I don't know why the NFL does this. I really don't. Dude, the Jacksonville Jaguars down there, that is one of the most gorgeous uniforms in the NFL. And they're going to put that fucker away for another couple months. And at some point, break it out for some special occasion all the while playing like dog shit and some basic ass uniform. And the NFL should take notice the Broncos went full bore yesterday.
Starting point is 02:25:33 Like some teams will bring out their old school and they won't redo the pads or they won't redo all the graphics or anything. we did pads along the end zone we did the entire stadium we did graphic you did a vintage bronco yeah a 1976 bronco everything you know how good that everything looked for that to be like way down a list of things that look good a vintage bronco right in baby blue and orange like that was amazing that should never change if you're Denver and for you roger godell I'm upset about the concoise protocol shit for sure i'll stop making it a big deal if you'll actually just do the right thing and and and fix the fucking uniforms what is it tanner you had a theory what was the theory yeah no i i think it is it's it's got to be like if you break out the old uniforms once every like three years
Starting point is 02:26:28 you'll sell more yeah so they're like we'll keep these new like nike's like we'll push out these shitty jerseys everybody feels like they need to have their team's newest jersey and then once every three years we'll bring back the good ones and you have to buy that one too because you got to buy the new player. Why don't you just do that with the Lways? I'll do it for every team. Why don't you do that with the,
Starting point is 02:26:48 because I actually like the, I like the Lways, I like the Derek Brooks's. Like that'll look cool if it's once a year. Yeah. You know, you know, it would look cool once a year? The midnight green a couple times a year. Go back to Kelly Green.
Starting point is 02:27:01 Go back to the fucking Reggie White. Go back to the Jerome Browns. Yep. You know, like you can't pick me a franchise that this would work for. I'm sorry, Chad, but this is like a soapbox thing. And here's your Bronco. I feel crazy when I watch these games and I think to myself that next week, these teams are not going to be wearing these uniforms. I just don't think Roger Goodell in the NFL front office, they must not have Twitter or social media because everybody's like, oh, there's the best,
Starting point is 02:27:24 is the best of the best. And then they just are sitting in their office be like, man, I wonder why no one likes the jersey. It's so stupid. And I think what I think what Tanner's saying is probably true. Yeah. I think what Tanner's saying is probably true, which just goes to show, like, Everything's about a fucking dollar to you. Yeah, it is. When it should be. But we know that. Looking cool every Sunday.
Starting point is 02:27:44 Bro, we know that. Those Jacksonville get-ups were amazing. Yeah. They should, the Fred Taylor's? And just like you said, everyone's online. But just like you're saying, everyone's online buying those jerseys. Glazing. People with the, all with the same, with the regular jersey on online buying,
Starting point is 02:28:00 buying the throwback. So, yep. Got to have two. Riley Moss, congratulations on going where no white man has gone since 1990. the interception column I mean that's and looked and jumped pretty well doing it like I don't know what the fuck happened to this kid like what happened to him was he did it pliometrics at an early age
Starting point is 02:28:24 was he one of these these do you have a parent He's just deadlifting hay bales in Iowa Chris out 30 for 30 I saw you want to read what he said I think Tanner is right they don't want people sick of them it's like the McRib that is true the mic rib when it comes back bro i'm online hey check out hey you got to check out chris allen's special it's on mark norman's youtube channel everybody check it out that's that's a
Starting point is 02:28:50 charlottesville talent right there there's a lot of fucking talent in this city he's a great comedian yeah he is um and by the way PS2 is up to third place in dpo i odds at 11 to 1 and he don't have to do anything he just has guys doing cardio when they put the stats next to PS2 it's like 1,600 76 minutes of cardio proved by the receivers opposite of him. He doesn't even need the picks. He changes the entire game. His second interception, I think,
Starting point is 02:29:16 was more impressive than the pick six because he got the pat, like normally a guy gets an interception on a tip drill ball. It's someone else. It's off a deflection or somebody else. He deflected the ball. He was his pass breakup. He tracked it. He grabbed it. Well,
Starting point is 02:29:32 it was amazing to me was definitely a hold on that pick six. And at the time I was pulling for the under so i was like reid what the fuck are we doing out here that's a whole bro did you see the the quarterback get that's the one that's the one but he kind of got held yeah he wasn't gonna make that play he got but but i'm not complaining go broncos broncos country let's ride i'm all in especially if you keep those jerseys but what was so amazing was like he never looked like he was running oh it's in stride like bro you would get in trouble if you were running gassers with with bailess running like that yeah he would be mad right
Starting point is 02:30:06 I'll be like, no, I'm still running up. Doesn't like to try it. Dude, that guy might be the coolest looking football player in the league. Last year I gave it to DeAndre Swift and Kelly Greens with the visor and number zero. This year I'm giving it to PS2 in that uniform. There is not a soul that looks cooler. You look at that big, big ass dude. When I'm looking at all 22 and I'm trying to find a DB,
Starting point is 02:30:28 it's so easy to find the giant guy with towel hanging off his hip that the guy in front of him is just looking like, what the fuck do I do? That's, that's, I love watching. Are they going to start the PS2 Island? Is he? Oh, I mean, it's already, yeah. I, I, it, if you watch that play, it looked, and if you didn't see, like, him intercepting,
Starting point is 02:30:50 just him running, you would have think it was like a screen pass or something to a wide receiver and he's a wide receiver running the other way. The last thing I'll say is, now there's a guy with a great dad who's better than the great dad. Yeah. We talked about that. Yeah. We talked about that recently.
Starting point is 02:31:02 There's not a lot of guys to get to the level. Yeah. And are, you know. Surpassing their. Yeah, it's fucking hard, dude. Because I think his dad has had, his dad had one first team and a second team, all pro. And then three straight pro bowls.
Starting point is 02:31:15 But you got to think about in this era, too, past era. Like, I mean, you know, his dad wasn't like 100 years ago. Right, right. This year or in this era, people are throwing the ball a lot. And, uh, and D.Bs can't get away with as much. So like for him to be so damn good is just insane. Yeah. I mean, it's like fucking insane.
Starting point is 02:31:33 I love the guy. The last thing I'll say is. Yeah. We did it on Friday show. If there's any bad luck, anything you guys want to turn, any voodoo that you want wiped away, grab that Howie Long, go pop behind you. Can we wipe the voodoo? Can we get David Sparks exercise?
Starting point is 02:31:50 He said, can y'all switch the topic to Fortnite strategy? This is low-key boring as ASL N-GL. It can't even type out full fucking sentences. What are you 12? Go watch a different show. Here's a Fortnite strategy. We're talking about the games yesterday. Did you think we're going to do?
Starting point is 02:32:03 Is this a Twitter channel? be the last person off the bus there you go complainant ass chat i heard they're adding liby doing it you are a pop culture guy david sparks you probably go watch one of those fucking podcasts okay let's go uh seattle new york go ahead okay so giants defense i think it's a group they've kind of flown under the radar this year because of the team record yeah they were great yesterday um consistently won early downs forced long third downs and then won those third down downs to. Seahawks were only three of 11 on third down in the day. Obviously the run game continues to be an issue for Seattle. It's hot now, Reed. Only 30 yards on seven attempts from the
Starting point is 02:32:46 backs. But shout out to the defensive front for the Giants currently leading the lead with 28 or leading the league with 28 sacks on the season. They've been great, really fun to watch. The rookies stood out in this game for for the Giants. Obviously Tyrone Tracy. 18 carries, 129 yards, Theo Johnson caught all five of his targets, and then Tyler Noobin, the safety. I thought did a really nice job and run support. I did prepare something of a data analysis here. I want to share with the room, see what everybody thinks open for commentary. So Malik Neighbors, you guys have heard of them. Yeah. Rookie receiver for the Giants. State Farms Future pitch man. That's right. Out of the lineup this week due to a concussion.
Starting point is 02:33:32 So through weeks 1 to 4, neighbors was targeted on 52. Somebody's going to actually kill you. Somebody's going to hunt you down and kill you. Of Daniel Jones's 154 attempts, 33.7 target share. Yesterday, without neighbors, the Giants offense doubled its typical scoring output, putting up 29 points after previously averaging 15 per game. They ran the ball much more effectively. They went 4.9 yards per carry. after averaging a league low 3.4 per in September.
Starting point is 02:34:07 And most importantly, saw their franchise QB Danny Dimes register a season high, 109.6 passer rating after averaging a 72.7 rating in September. Why I ought to... My question for the room is, do we have a Malik neighbor's Ewing theory situation in our hands? Here's what I love. Here's what I love. This is obviously puck and cheek. But I love, I love, we know, fuck, I would hope.
Starting point is 02:34:33 But you never, you never know with people sometimes that are like, what did this guy said this? But it is funny seeing a guy with like a Philly accent sitting next to a Harold Carmichael jersey asking this question out loud. Yeah. You use. And here's the deal. No.
Starting point is 02:34:53 No. Honestly, what I think it speaks to more than anything is, is how real the Detroit hangover theory is. No, the Detroit hangover theory is real. We talked about that earlier in the show. It's legit. I mean, like, there's going to be a lot of people that are going to be, you know, firing that takeoff.
Starting point is 02:35:12 I hear that on some major podcasts, people are already firing that takeoff this morning without crediting the research committee we have, which is me. The horse's mouth. Basically going through the schedule the first month of the season and saying, these guys are kicking people's asses. I do think there was a hangover.
Starting point is 02:35:30 I also think like when you're playing a team that's got some good edge rushers, right? Like they can muddy the game up. And I also think Seattle looked dead for 15, 54 minutes and had a chance to win this thing. I mean, or tie this thing and go into overtime. I mean, so if you're Seattle, you're going to drop some games, dude. Like you're building something. You know, you just played Detroit, right? Like they're a little beat up probably.
Starting point is 02:35:56 and the Giants are not a great football team, but their physical football team. Like, Dable is a hard coaching dude. Dable was on, what's his name's ass in the locker room about fucking filming. Wondale. Wondale Robinson.
Starting point is 02:36:12 And it was the funniest thing ever. And like, I just loved what I gleaned about that, that dynamic from just that moment, which is that, like, Wandae was like, oh, shit. Like, he's a good kid. He was like, oh, fuck, I fucked up.
Starting point is 02:36:25 And Davele's also. also like no bullshit but you could also tell it like he cares what dable thinks yeah you know and so dable hasn't lost this team that's not one of these teams where dable it's apparent to me that the team is not playing hard or i mean that team's out there battling they were battling last week against the the the cowboys i don't think they're going anywhere necessarily this year but i don't want disrespect the guys in our locker room say they're not playing hard that there's not good football players on this team and if you're bull to board material they have a big game next week and if you play them who they play the bengals they're not they're not going to win that
Starting point is 02:36:56 game. You guys hear that? Chris Long says you're not going to win the game next week. Nate said that the Cleveland Browns are going to win the Super Bowl. I like the James Winston lead. That's hate, bro. Lead Cleveland Browns. That's hate, bro. That's hate. We haven't had a chance yet. That's hate that's hate on Deshaun like that. James is crazy for you to hate on Deshawn like that. Oh, is it? I don't know. So anyways, like pretty wild that that game came down to what it did. the Isaiah Simmons thing. That's what you bring him. It's not just that play,
Starting point is 02:37:30 but like some of the versatility he has. Like he can affect the game in a lot of ways. And that's got to be pretty gratifying to say, like at least we'll remember this moment where he really stole a win for us. Every single special teams coach, he'll be on every teach tape forever. Of the way to jump over the-
Starting point is 02:37:49 blocking the center down with your deep tackle? No, him personally, him not touching because usually when you touch you get the penalty and the whole jumping thing and he did a great job clearing everything and getting the block and then yeah that that that cost me money i live bet the the the the the the seahawks at like plus 550 something now here's the thing the funniest picture in that game that i saw was daniel jones on the sideline after that block kick so he just was like i don't have to lead a what he's so excited game winning touch John Drive. He was like, now he never looks like I can read his face. He's got one of the most
Starting point is 02:38:29 frantic faces in the NFL. It's hard to win in the NFL, man. No question. Hard to win. The last game is a Sunday night football game, which was just, um, there were, like, you would have thought that we were getting like waterboarded during that game the way we were like, how much longer can we take this? Like it was 945 when that fucking game started. And I said, Five times I'm going to bed. Five in the second half. And I just stayed. I just stayed.
Starting point is 02:38:59 I just kept staying. And I had Pittsburgh money line and like, you know, I don't hate the Cowboys. I just can't bet on the Cowboys. They showed some toughness. The Cowboys have showed toughness the last two weeks. I'll say that. Like the Giants game, there was a lot of resolve there. They lost some guys.
Starting point is 02:39:17 You talk about coming in a game where you think, where's the pass rush going to come from, you know, Micah's down. how's this defense going to respond i don't think they're that great on defense carson's down and honestly i just didn't think pittsburgh looked good enough like they just didn't look good enough and i fields didn't look good enough at times and to be honest like when you're down warren and you're down patterson not to make excuses because dallas is down guys too but that kind of puts a ceiling on that offense a little bit to me especially when george pickens isn't playing a lot and we don't know why Tomlin set up to the game it's not we're managing his snap count the same way we do like
Starting point is 02:39:54 cam hayward or something i don't think that's the case i'm not saying he's lying but i just feel like there's something not right there right where he's not in the game as much and he's not being a bit and you come into that game and a couple weeks in a row you got people trying to punk your skill guys whether it's those Dallas db's talking shit about pickings they seem to be you know coming at him and then a couple weeks ago was nausey run soft like i i you can't you got to see a little bit different of an attitude out of that offense like an attitude where like the defense plays with an attitude right and without without high smith i think you can tell like it's a little easier to get the matchups you want like keep t j wad at bay although 100 sacks for him
Starting point is 02:40:36 awesome so my god george foster tweeted this last night like tj got there in how many games i don't remember but reggie got there that much faster like and george had tweeted like congrats to t j look at how crazy this is. I mean, TJ getting to 100, it was inevitability. And he's playing at such a high level still. Just an absolute warrior out there. There are very few guys that I'm like, man, I wish I could have bottled up what he had. Like, what is that? He's just got this thing about him. He's not only great. That helps. You can be a dog when you're just one of the best. But like, he never takes plays off he he he doesn't he he's a leader he sets the tone in that room like you can tell like a lot of the steelers tradition is tomlin a lot of the steelers tradition is like how they
Starting point is 02:41:30 draft outside backers how they play their defense they're running the same defense for fucking eons but you cannot underestimate the importance of the continuity that that guy provides culturally in that building and so hats off to him not only for getting that skill based benchmark last night, but also like football players see it. Like he's, he's the closest thing to a thermostat, not a thermometer. You want another coach speak thing? Be a thermostat, not a thermometer.
Starting point is 02:42:02 He is a thermostat, bro. He sets the temperature in that room, and he has for a long time. And it's why they've been able to bring along. You can see High Smith takes on his personality. You can see Herbig takes on his personality. Those guys, they want to be like him. And I just hats off to him in a lot. lost getting that but the cowboys man late in that game game winning drive the drama down at the
Starting point is 02:42:24 goal line was absurd the elandon roberts hit over the top i'm watching the game in bed and i almost woke my wife up because i'm just like oh my god the ball's on the ground all that money is just laying on the ground wake up babe we might have just made some money but nah because they didn't fall on it and then the last play tomlin calls his last time out like it was would have been nice to have those timeouts in your pocket, man. Right? Like, I know they blew one of them when they didn't get the look they liked on a money down on offense. Like, check out of something, man. You might need those. And they end up with one last gasp and they really don't have it. I would have like to see fields take off early in that possession. There's only like two,
Starting point is 02:43:09 three plays. We're cutting hairs here. But if you have three timeouts, I think you can get, you can get it to where Boswell can kick that ball and you go to overtime. You know, so Cowboys. Hats off to them for being tough and going on the road and scrapping together another win, but that was hideous. Overtime, that game would have still been on. What was the score? 2017. 2017 at that point?
Starting point is 02:43:31 Yep. So they would have been going overtime if they kicked the ball. Yeah, yeah. Right? Yeah, he's saying it would have kept going on. Yeah. Bro, imagine they had to, yeah, what you're saying is exactly right. I wouldn't, I would have gone to bed.
Starting point is 02:43:46 I would have done that thing where it's like, wake up. And it's, you started at 9.30 this week, too. We got to get done. Here's a long show. Let's hear from our friends at BetMGM. Yeah, let's go mentions in a second. Mentions. As we get ready for week six in the NFL, as we get ready for the BetMGM moments, I want you to picture this. You bet your favorite player his first touchdown score, but he throws a block to send a teammate into the end zone. Instead, and seemingly losing your bet, right? I don't. never liked that sentence. I got to rewrite that one. Wrong. With BetMGM's second chance promotion,
Starting point is 02:44:23 you'll get your stake back in your first, if your first touchdown score or score second. Bet on any pro football player to score the first touchdown of the game. If you're right, you win. If your player scores second, you get your stake back in cash. Keep that in mind next time you throw in a first touchdown score bet with that MGM. Happy hunting. And Nate, you know this better than anybody. When those first touchdowns hit, It's amazing You can't, there's no, there's not a drug that feels that good But when it comes close to your first touchdown
Starting point is 02:44:52 Like hitting and it doesn't But then they score that second And you get your money back That's, that's great too. Great feeling. All right, I'm going to put my Jacksonville Jaguar's sunglasses on These aren't mine. I'm just running on.
Starting point is 02:45:06 Do you know. We have a little fun. Let's get through the mentions And get out of here. Best flight. Best flight. Cardinals. That's a quick flight, right?
Starting point is 02:45:19 That's a really quick flight. More specifically, Kyler Murray, everybody else has to pay for Economy Plus. Everybody else has to pay for the bulkhead. Everybody else has to pay for the exit row. That guy's never had to, like, consider that in his life.
Starting point is 02:45:34 And I just, I got to imagine a plane ride home for Kyler Murray after a big win where he balled out and his team suddenly a problem that people have to deal with. He's got his apple juice. So he's drinking it through a straw. And he's got a giant chair that like, I mean, best flight,
Starting point is 02:45:51 Kyler Murray, dude. You got his iPad? You know my kids are doing the iPad and you're like, you almost lose them for a second when they're real young. The iPad's like almost. Best flight. I'm calling with the Gman. Because opposite from Chris, what Chris thinks,
Starting point is 02:46:12 I think long flights after a win are extra special. because sometimes guys just want to, they just want to sleep in peace. Like a lot of guys after long games, you're going back to your family and like kids and your wife and your girlfriend, not saying that that stuff isn't great. But sometime after a long game, like you just want to chill. And what's a better time than being able to chill without anyone having to bother you than a flight home from a game? No, it's awesome.
Starting point is 02:46:43 You know, it's even better. I take an SUV up to Philly every Tuesday. Five-hour ride. driver drives me up sit in the back watch film somebody in the chat's going to call me rich i'm not even flying you're going to call me rich by the way somebody in chat said chris needs to try drugs if he thinks gambling is that great bro they do not know what they're talking about welcome to the chat welcome to the chat worst flight worst flight um now i haven't tried that cocaine uh because i'm not going to Yeah, no.
Starting point is 02:47:15 Gambling's better. Gambling, is it? Oh, yeah. Than cocaine? Sure. Sure. You need to try some drugs, Jake. I didn't know you like to get wet, Jake.
Starting point is 02:47:31 After you hit your first, first touchdown bet, I'm going to look at you, Jake, and be like, I don't know you like to get wet, Jack. I love you all. Let's see. Okay Worst flight You go first Bill's Yeah probably
Starting point is 02:47:52 From Houston to Buffalo And you know Josh Allen had a headache So Flying on a plane With a headache Yeah I was gonna say That had to be like
Starting point is 02:48:03 Bro like it's not even a good thing to do I don't think with like the pressure of the No it's not like none of that None of it Back in the old days We'd get a concussion drink a whole bottle A crown apple on the plane but then Taylor Heineke
Starting point is 02:48:14 fucked that up with his with his bush light oh my god got the cops on us really was the XFL because he brought it from the XFL because he brought it from the XFL
Starting point is 02:48:27 that's true guys were like straight that's true Jake said I've done Coke four times I like this guy I like that he's kept count how was it Jake in 40
Starting point is 02:48:41 okay okay okay He said in 40 years, but it was better than gambling. Have you tried a first touchdown bet, though, Jake? Have you ever combined them? That's why I don't do first touchdown bets because I know that like I'll be hooked. I've seen someone win a $5 for touchdown bet. First touchdown bet $5 won them $29,000.
Starting point is 02:49:04 But I think this, you got to be down to feel good. To feel really good, you got to be down. That's just my psychology. I'm just a fucked up person. I am a, I swear to you. That's sick. I swear to you, bro. No.
Starting point is 02:49:16 It's fucked up. Winning feels good. Winning, winning with consistency feels okay. But you know what feels good is like back against the wall 4 p.m. That's what feels good to me. You know? Chase long. Maybe I'm fucked up from playing in St. Louis for eight years.
Starting point is 02:49:35 What's up is down to me. What's up to you is down to me. You know what I'm saying? Okay. Worst flight. Golly. did Cleveland Cleveland had to fly
Starting point is 02:49:47 yeah anytime they go anywhere as a team I don't care if they're going to bowling alley I think they'd all rather be somewhere else and you have to go back to Cleveland you go back to Cleveland which is not a
Starting point is 02:50:01 can I say something Cleveland to me my hot take on Cleveland I went to play a preseason game there and I went to a strip club there my wife knows that I went to a strip club that was the most interesting architectural strip club I've ever been to. It was like, it was like a circle. It was like a literally a circle. It was crazy. It wasn't just about the strip club and I was, I walked in and I walked out. Let me tell you.
Starting point is 02:50:29 But, but it was also about the city. I was driving around that city and I thought it was kind of, it was kind of nice. It was an interesting architecture. From what I understand, the medical community is really, it's a robust medical scene in Cleveland. It's lakeside. Rock and roll museum. They get a lot of snow if you like snow. Rock and roll museum, there's a lot of good things about Cleveland, ma'am.
Starting point is 02:50:51 What kind of snow? I know we aren't sure because of the... Not cocaine. Okay, all right, cool. Just want to make sure. Not cocaine. Shout out to Ray Cash. Shout out to Bone Thugs in Harmony.
Starting point is 02:51:06 Are they any of the Cleveland rappers you can think of? Because I can't. Indy-K. m gk oh yeah m gk went neck and neck with m what do you mean well he had a nice little he had about he had about what do you mean what are we talking about with m and m he had a battle rap with neck and neck with them i mean he put out a nice a nice i thought you're making a neck joke because his neck is long as shit it is i think his whole his entire body tattoo shit he's doing is weird but yeah but he he was with began fox sage his own enough said bevel conway bevel conway
Starting point is 02:51:40 Beville Conway. Let's go Raiders and Broncos or the Sunday Night game. I'm going to say the view from the pools at Trevor Bank Stadium. Yeah, tell me about that. Bro, it's fire. What's the temperature of that pool? Bro, it's a hot tub. It's basically like a mini hot tub.
Starting point is 02:51:55 They're way smaller in person than they seem on TV, but they're dope. Like, they're dope. As you can see, as you can see, fully closed it is legend. It felt good. It was a good, it was a good little cooler. And then the fans are hype. I've seen a video of Jackson DeVille. He belly flops into one of them before the game to get all the people in that section hype before the game.
Starting point is 02:52:21 What is this guy talking about, bro? Did you read this comment? What did you do to DK in the chat? Nate looks like the type of guy to eat corn the long way. Yo. Hey, yo. You. First of, you're a sicko for thinking that.
Starting point is 02:52:39 because I don't like to even visualize that no one eats corn the long way no that's pretty weird dude who does eat corn the long way kid cutty cleveland okay kid cutty drew carry um okay all right uh let me do a bevel conway there was nothing more beautiful than the uniforms i saw in denver but also i want to give a bevel conway out to those fans in houston and and the buffalo and the Houston fans there. I would have thought it was Halloween. People were going all out. Children were going all out.
Starting point is 02:53:16 That is, that's what I want to see when I turn on a football game. People dressing up and shit. You know what I mean? I love that. The Raiders crawled so everyone else is fan base can walk. Do you think, hey,
Starting point is 02:53:29 I'd like to go undercover to one game this year. Seriously. As a fan in some fucked up costume, I'm not going to tell you which one. The Raiders will be the only one you'll be able to get away with. No, no, no, no, no. I can paint myself.
Starting point is 02:53:41 I can put on a mask. I can do anything. Raiders is the only one I feel like you'll be able to get away with. But here's what I'd like to do. I'd like to like when I decide where it is, I'm going to be like, I'm coming to that, to that game this weekend. And if you can find me, you get a reward, you know, some sort of hashtag green light shit where it like stirs up engagement.
Starting point is 02:54:01 But like, I bet you I bet you I can hide. Well, bet you I can hide. You know what it would be an interest to someone to do, to go to? is doing it at a Detroit game. Supposedly Eminem does it, like a few times a year. Like, he'll sit and no one knows it's him. I heard that. I did hear that.
Starting point is 02:54:14 I heard that from, like, guys that played in Detroit. They said back in the day, he used to, like, put a mask on and come to the game. And he'll just sit and, like, he'll enjoy the game. Dude, I snuck into the Patriots Falcon Super Bowl, the whole first half and nobody noticed me. It was crazy, dude. Like, so I think I could fucking honestly,
Starting point is 02:54:34 that's what happens when you don't get third down. Like we can get to third down the whole half, bro. All right. Anti-bevel. Anti-bevel. It's you saying it's the Texans. Easy, easy, easy. It's the Texans.
Starting point is 02:54:48 I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Kingston, but the Texans uniform are kind of lame. And they could do better. If Nate had been sent that uniform, that would be his bubble counter. I don't know what the anti-bevel is. Don't need one. That's optional. You can go to fly on the wall.
Starting point is 02:55:06 what's the anti-bevel come way i'll think of one fly on the wall for me did you see george pickens uh breathe right strip last night it says always fucking open yeah can you fly on the wall what's it like pregame when pickens comes up the fields is like just be you dog like just don't think out there let it loose don't think about anything don't think about who to throw the ball to nothing there should be nothing there should be nothing when it pertain it it it should be nothing as it pertains to me and how much I want the ball. Like just go out there and throw it to whoever you want to. Just play free. All right. Ready break. It's always fucking open. The guys, he's menacing, bro. If we could just put it together, bro.
Starting point is 02:55:50 If we could just put it together, he's going to be so damn good. All right. Nate, what you got? I don't have a fly on the wall. Okay. No fly on the wall. Best seat. Best seat. giving it to the lifeguards in the Jaguars pool at Trevor Bank. They get season tickets. They get free food. Yes, you have to work. That's right. But you have a beautiful view of the game.
Starting point is 02:56:17 And someone has to be really drunk to drown in that hot tub, that little pool. So, like, I don't think that job is too strenuous. That's natural selection. If you drown in the Jaguars pool. like that's natural you would have had to break in on drugs you know what I mean something but it's just so small
Starting point is 02:56:37 anybody's copulated in that pool I don't know you know what copulation means I can I'm not really sure I do it means to have sex yeah exactly I want to make sure that's what it was I think somebody has had sex in that pool I hope so
Starting point is 02:56:54 honestly if anyone it would be shot con I would have christen that pool as soon as it was done. You guys done? Oh, a word. Let me get the first UTI in this pool.
Starting point is 02:57:10 I did immediately go back. Nobody gets a UTI in my stadium before I do. I did go back to the hotel and shower immediately. You better have. People talk about getting on a river after a storm. How about getting in that pool at all? Okay. You got a seat, Chris?
Starting point is 02:57:27 You have a best seat? Do I have a best seat? I got a best seat the Detroit Lions for all the reasons I talked about earlier they're watching they're saying hey man I'm looking around the NFC and we're pretty good like you know
Starting point is 02:57:41 like I think we match up pretty well against all these teams and they're also they all seem to have a hard time after they play us I'll just say that one more time we're seat Eagles on a buy watching the commanders sorry if that's a glaze
Starting point is 02:57:57 Greg Zerline trying to kick the fucking ball through all those cheerleaders Oh man That was crazy That was cool It's just rude That was visually insane
Starting point is 02:58:08 Like it was like I was like They superimposed them in here It's like two things going on That are never going on together And they're going on right on top of each other It ended up being amazing But like
Starting point is 02:58:20 If it had went bad Bro That ball hit one of those girls in the face Would have been terrible bro Oh, it would have been awful. Like, that's crazy that he even, like, because he definitely made the decision. He's like, it's my, I'm gonna do it.
Starting point is 02:58:32 This is my space. But he doesn't know, like, also, too, it's ballsy because you don't know the routine. He, like, he, like, waited until he thought they were going to pause in a certain spot. Right, exactly. To kick it. Well, that's challenging. Got missed a game winner last week. Like, what's harder, kicking in the rain or that?
Starting point is 02:58:47 Oh. Honestly. So, what do you got? My worst seat is going to Romeo Dobbs. Because for what's your. doing right now missing practices and being upset it doesn't work when your team still wins without you like it just probably doesn't like it doesn't feel good like to say no that's not a good seat yeah that's a bad seat to feel like you're needed or you want the ball more and then you throw
Starting point is 02:59:15 you pout and you don't play and the team still does well and other guys contribute where you probably would have been so i'm giving him the worst seat You know, it's so boring to give it to Deshaun Watson, but I'd like to remind you once again, I'd like to remind you once again, if I could find this stat. He's averaging negative 0.30 EPA per drop pack, the lowest number for any Browns quarterback in weeks
Starting point is 02:59:47 one through five since at least 2000. The second worst performance, drum roll, Deshawn Watson last year. Okay, hollow man. We just hit it. Now we're STL Memorial. Unless Nate has a hollow man. Sorry, bro.
Starting point is 03:00:05 I don't want to do this, but I have to because it was just so beautiful. Do it, bro. Stanford Steve being cooked by Savon. It was funny. I think Sabin, I think he loved that. But hey, Steve got the last laugh. Those cow bears, they did not win that game. Miami came back on him.
Starting point is 03:00:22 So he can still walk around and be like, oh, yeah, you guys going back to the library? What are you doing now? Dude, that was, that was hilarious. And I thought Cal just showed out. Like, that was such a cool setting. Some of the best signs ever. Yeah. Like they said, they said,
Starting point is 03:00:36 retract the Adams Onus Treaty, which was when we got Florida from Spain. That's pretty good. Of course, that treaty. Yeah. They had woke over Coke. Woke over Coke was a fun.
Starting point is 03:00:48 Lean into it a little bit, you know. Hey, we're fucking woke. It's a word I just. That's a tale memorial. STL Memorial. I'm going to give it to Marshawn Lynch blowing down on the set of Game Day.
Starting point is 03:01:05 As only I would, I would expect him to. You know, like, I mean, I just love the guy. He plays by his rules. Wherever he goes, he plays by his rules. And he honestly leaves people smiling. Hopefully, hopefully. At every stop. At every stop.
Starting point is 03:01:22 There was a video of him walking by the golf cart, right by the set. And someone tweeted that the golf cart talking to him like the green gobbled mask. Come on, Marcia. Come on. Just give me a little ride. Just one ride. Come on. Just one ride. I know you just smoked a gram and a half of like
Starting point is 03:01:38 strong marijuana. But hop in. Hop in. Let's see. I'll drive. I'll drive it. You don't even have to drive. I got us. I got us. I saw you on that Bear Grills show. That was awesome. Hop in. Let's talk about it. All right. So the other guy I want to give it to, though, on
Starting point is 03:01:54 Sunday. That was a Saturday. Here's a Sunday. Jalen Tolbert, his nuts. Oh, my God. Can somebody read me the quote from Tyler Smith? Y'all put it in the chat earlier. Jalen Tolbert on the game-winning touchdown. Isn't that just like a hernia?
Starting point is 03:02:08 Tyler Smith on the game-winning touchdown pass from Dack Prescott to Jalen Tolbert. Bro, it was miraculous. J-T literally sprained his fucking nuts. Excuse me. Sorry, guys. Sprained his nuts to play before. Then comes back, makes the game winner. Unbelievable.
Starting point is 03:02:24 I love Tyler Smith as a football player, but just I didn't know I just kind of pegged him for like a grumpy badass acting guy I mean he's a badass on the field but obviously he's got a great sense of humor and he's funny I like this kid I like this kid's hard for me to say it I like a couple
Starting point is 03:02:40 cowboys is one cowboy I like and as far as test testicular torsion is concerned Nate it's a real problem that affects a lot of men okay how many men many men which death upon me
Starting point is 03:02:56 tangles in my balls and I can't breathe I'm trying to be what I'm destined to be oh man trying to take my kids away come on testicular torsion
Starting point is 03:03:19 occurs when testicles rotate twisting the spermatic cord that brings blood to the scrotum the reduced blood flow causes sudden and often severe pain and swelling I know the whole childbirth thing is terrible, but can you imagine having testicular torsion, ladies? I'm just joking. But a lot of people can testicular torsion fix itself.
Starting point is 03:03:42 Maybe he didn't have testicular torsion because it almost always requires surgery to connect. I actually know of a guy in high school around these parts. A guy I played with, and he was a dog, bro. He's a running back from. from a town called Pocosin, Virginia. And he ran for like 250 in the state playoffs with testicular torsion. He entered the game with twisted testicles.
Starting point is 03:04:11 What are you going to tell your public school training staff? Like, they're going to be able to fix that? You know, you get time to go get imaging on your balls. This guy's like, I don't have any time to get them untwisted. Let me just run for 250. Oh. And I'm going to. Might have been.
Starting point is 03:04:26 might have been his what you call might have been his kink you might have been loving it you know who it no that's you know who it is oh do he's a coach now and his players should know he's a badass he's he's one of the toughest guys i ever play with this is an urban legend this guy a testicular torsion in high school can i say who it is he wouldn't be embarrassed to know for people to know that he ran for 250 with twisted testicle he should be proud josh sidenberg oh wow he was a dog bro yeah when i heard that about him i was like yep that makes sense he's a dog and jalen tolbert maybe pumped the brakes on the hero's story because there's just a sprained testicle it wasn't torsion okay what are we moving to next we got nates estiel how long do we talk about testicles in here i'm going with i'm going with
Starting point is 03:05:17 bo nix and sutan and the broncos man um another win another step closer to this bet mgm total but Soutan's two interceptions and then a hundred, a hundred yard return. I mean, obviously, like, you can have, like, a 109, but realistically, being able to get an interception running back 100 yards just shows, like, where you got the interception on the field and how important it is at the time. And you're basically... 14-point swing.
Starting point is 03:05:47 It's a 14-point swing because you're taking points off the board. What's his EPA? Like, what's the EPA with him on the field or not? I would almost argue that he's got the highest swing in EPA of any defensive player in the league. I mean, maybe Fred Warner, but we don't like, I don't know how they calculate this shit. But I think this guy is just unbelievable. Special. Gameball.
Starting point is 03:06:08 Game ball. Lamar Jackson for me. I can, you know, I've got my narratives on the Ravens from time to time. Like, I think they're a damn good football team and they're a lot of fun to watch. But they are not anywhere near where they are as an organization without this guy. He just makes so many problems go away. He really does. You think about all the free runners he beats, all the rushers he fights off.
Starting point is 03:06:32 And you know my favorite thing about Lamar is? And I'm going to say it every time I talk about him, he's a leader. He's a dog. He's a teammate you want. You know, I think he's somebody that my best compliment I give him is like, I would tell my kids to watch Lamar operate. He operates like a pro. And yesterday was a hallmark game for him.
Starting point is 03:06:54 That was a huge performance. And if you're talking about MVP in that whole race, he's, of course, in it. But this game is when you look back at it and you say, that was incredible. Case in point. You have a game ball? You already gave it. No, I got one. I'm giving it to Dan Quinn.
Starting point is 03:07:11 Nice. Yeah. I think. Do you have twisted testicles yesterday? No, no twisted testicles, but the commanders, they look great. And it's just funny how quick, like, you can change a narrative. the franchise or like of a team yeah we're just starting to win yeah and no one really like no one cares how you're doing it yep as long as you're winning and like it's cool to see this franchise
Starting point is 03:07:38 just getting that turnaround right now and dan quinn like being like leading everything that's off dan quinn he's he's an electric dude like we i got to interview him a couple years ago for 33rd team i think it was when i went on with quinn and he's a guy i'd love to have on this show because sat down on them for 15 minutes. It's just so, as a former player, he's just a guy that, like, you know, you talk to some coaches and you're like, all right, this guy's got scheme, he's got, but he's just got it. He really does just have it. He's always had it.
Starting point is 03:08:07 He had it in Seattle. He had it in Atlanta. And he's got it for this team. And they kind of play, like, with his personality a little bit. It's awesome. So last thing I want to say is this, Friday, we had on the preview show, which is now live, by the way. we've got some names that we've got pulled and we need to uh we need to pick one because we set this up last week where we said hey on this show we're going to pick a name and send one person merch now the
Starting point is 03:08:34 name that was input into the chat it had to do with a little mechanism that we're putting in a live show it is named the most random player you can think of drawn from these two organizations has to be a former player like last week the game of the week was minnesota and the jets that turned out not to be the game of the week, but it was in the previews. So we asked you to pull out any name you can, the most random packer, the most random jet you can think of.
Starting point is 03:09:01 And there's no real like, hey, this is why you win, this is why you didn't win. It's just the name that makes me go, oh shit, I forgot about that guy. That's awesome. Or I really like that guy. If you guys can put those names into the chat on Fridays, you're going to get some merch, the winner is,
Starting point is 03:09:17 at the end of the Friday show. Now, last week, we didn't have our ducks in a row just yet. So we said we would announce today, Cowboy. Well, we have to have a winner. So we picked a winner. Robbie Supa went with Kevin Williams from the Vikings.
Starting point is 03:09:33 Oh, that's a pretty good one. He's going to win the hoodie this week. Yeah, shout out to Robbie Super Kevin Williams was an absolute dog. He threw in a couple. He also said E.J. Henderson. E.J. Henderson. My dog, from one of the only Maryland players I like.
Starting point is 03:09:49 Okay, I said earlier, I hate two and on. I also I hate Maryland. I don't, I don't really hate a lot. I really don't. Hates a strong word. Tech. I do hate tech.
Starting point is 03:10:01 But, but honestly, like when it comes to two and on, you know, tech is at least out there playing football games. You know what I mean? Like,
Starting point is 03:10:11 they're out there beating us 15 years in a row. I can, you know, I can tip my cap to the Hokies. Now this year, we're going to get your ass. Okay. All right.
Starting point is 03:10:20 Real quick, before we go let's get fax's viral moment of the week my viral moment this week is going to bill bellichick seen in a nice selfie picture with his beautiful young girlfriend and a Taylor swift shirt which says to me that he's fun no that he is pandering and and Andy reed should watch out because this guy is going to get a coaching job again and he might have just found a way The land Travis Kelsey. Wherever he goes. Don't remember.
Starting point is 03:10:54 Remember it when it happens. I like how you're trying to put you, you're putting the pieces together on this thing. Hey, remember him when it happens. You know, what I see when I see this picture is Bill being a fun person. And I know Bill's a fun person because I work with him now and I work with him before.
Starting point is 03:11:07 And he's always been fucking fun. But now he's really fun, dude. He is, he makes going to work like legitimately fun. I mean, it's fun with Ocho and Ryan. Isn't it crazy about that I'm here? But I swear to you,
Starting point is 03:11:20 he comes. comes in and it's just the unexpected wittiness. It's the unexpected like the jokes, the, the little one-liners that like he's sitting in the back and he hears everything and he's, it's just fun coming to work with Bill. And it's fun working with the other guys too. Check us out on inside the NFL. Supposedly, that's Aaron on, I don't know when it's Aaron Wednesday or Friday. They might be moving us early in the week. It's all the CW. Check us out. But Bill's great. Last thing for the show, Chris, do you have a lean in the Monday night game tonight? Nate, the chiefs are five and a half point favorites.
Starting point is 03:11:53 Yeah. And Nate, where should we put our money on first touchdown score? Oh, first touchdown score. Nice, juicy one plus 2000. Samaji P. Rine. I think that's a great bet to me. You think about Joanne Johnson. Yo, you know what's a long odds touchdown, but it is.
Starting point is 03:12:11 You know what I'm saying? You know what's funny? I think you hold your nose and bet the Saints. And I'm not saying they're going to win the game, but what I am saying, they're catching almost six points here. Yeah. So like, you know, buy it up. A lot of people are looking at them the last two weeks and saying,
Starting point is 03:12:24 they're not very good. They lost a couple times. The chiefs are recession proof, right? And I do think that. But I do think this will be a tough game for them. I do. And if it's not, I can't wait to see Patrick Mahomes play. All right.
Starting point is 03:12:39 Thank you to bet MGM. Thank you to the chat. I really do love y'all. Yeah. Last thing I'll leave you with because you did the Bill Belichick viral moment thing. I know some Philly fans in here. I got an Uber the other day on the way to inside the NFL, and my Uber driver was like,
Starting point is 03:12:54 so Bill Belichick is, he's coming to, he's coming to Philadelphia. This is like on the heels of the Eagles loss, and he knew I was a player. And I was like, he's already here. He's taping inside the NFL. And that airs in 9-8 Central on Friday nights on the CW. And you can check it out too, buddy.
Starting point is 03:13:12 And I got out of the car. So, yeah, the Bill sweepstakes. There's a lot of teams that are, gonna be calling my coworker, but you gotta go through me. I like working with Bill, and I'm not gonna fucking let you just swoop him up. Quick question on the spot. Bill gets a job and says, come with me and coach, yes or no? Ooh.
Starting point is 03:13:32 Don't think that's gonna happen. But maybe he feels the same way as you feel about working with him. He might, probably not. I hope we never have to think about that, because I really like what we're doing that. And also, I love my family. I love my family. Yeah. When you coach.
Starting point is 03:13:50 That's the only thing. It's the hardest thing. Hey guys, take care. I really appreciate you all in the chat. Check us out. Later in the week, we'll be back. And happy hunting tonight. Thank you bad MGM.
