Starting point is 00:00:00 Tucker Carlson said Ray Dalio is one of the world's smartest investors, but more important, he's likely the wisest. Make yourself read this book. That book is how countries go broke, the big cycle. In it, Dalio explains the mechanics behind big debt cycles, and what they mean for countries with big and increasing debts like the U.S. and what you should do to protect yourself. You can find it wherever books are sold,
Starting point is 00:00:24 or read a five-minute summary of the book at economic principles.org. That's right, happy Monday, happy Monday, everyone. I am Tom Shaloo, in for Greg Gutfeld. Okay, today, Blue Origins, new Shepard Rocket successfully completed. its mission with an all-female crew, including Katie Perry, Lauren Sanchez, and Gail King. I think they took it literally when their husbands told them they needed space. But the crew and capsule returned safely via parachute. Luckily, no one had to parallel park.
Starting point is 00:01:21 In a new interview, Rosie O'Donnell revealed her friendship with Lyle Menendez, saying that he made her feel, quote, safe enough to trust and love a straight man. Upon hearing this, Menendez came out as gay and returned to his prison cell. According to a new study, marriage can actually increase your odds of getting dementia. That's why I love being single, said one man. Disney's Research Division has developed an autonomous humanoid. robot that can mimic human behavior. I hate to break
Starting point is 00:02:04 it to you, Disney. Congress did that already. Elizabeth Warren says that Congress has to take the tariff authority away from Trump. When asked if it's a priority, she said, it's high on the totem pole. New Jersey Senator Cory Booker hasn't ruled out a
Starting point is 00:02:29 2028 presidential run, you know, that's what I love about Democrats, their sense of humor. On this day in 1912, the Titanic hit an iceberg in the North Atlantic, then sank hours later. These days, if you'd like to experience a nightmare at sea, just book a carnival cruise. NBA legend Isaiah Thomas is blasting LeBron James for warming up shirtless. Fox actually has the same complaint about Greg. Okay, on to the searing monologue. So, HBO host Bill Maher had a meeting with Donald Trump, which might be the most unlikely encounter since my duet with Lizzo.
Starting point is 00:03:17 Yes, Bill Maher, long-time liberal, professional atheist, and a guy who smoked so much weed, he makes Snoop Dog look like Dana Perino. Did the unspeakable, he sat down with Trump. Talk to him, ate with him, praised him. We'll be back with more Gutfeld. Mint is still $15 a month for premium wireless. Starting point is 00:04:21 Array! Array! Array! Array! Array! Array! The Conjuring Last Rites, only in theater September 5th, where it are. As you know, 12 days ago I had dinner with President Trump.
Starting point is 00:04:43 I never felt I had to walk on eggshells around him. And honestly, I voted for Clinton and Obama, but I would never feel comfortable talking to them the way I was able to talk. I was able to talk with Donald Trump. He's much more self-aware than he lets on in public. I'm just taking as a positive that this person exists because everything I've ever not liked about him was, I swear to God, absent, at least on this night with this guy.
Starting point is 00:05:09 Now, I know what you're thinking. What's next? A rom-com starring Rachel Maddow and Jesse Waters. And was Trump gracious and measured? Trump was gracious and measured, and why he isn't that in other settings? I don't know. I've had so many conversations with prominent people who are much less connected. People who don't look you in the eye, none of that with him.
Starting point is 00:05:36 And he mostly steered the conversation to, what do you think about this? I know. Your mind is blown. So, how did the media react, as you'd expect? Here's Washington Post columnist Josh Rogan telling Marr to his face that he fell into a trap. I think you've fallen into the trap. I think I represent 99% of the internet when I say this is that
Starting point is 00:05:57 you've played the game of proximity is principal. Ah, yes, the old proximity is principal game. That's my favorite game after Stratigo and Operation. Anyway, Rogan tried to follow up
Starting point is 00:06:17 with some ass kissing and Marr wasn't having it. I think a lot of people out there Fans of yours. People will love you. People who are fans of you. Like me, I've been fans of you. I've been fan of you. I don't have to patronize me, dude. I don't know you. Fair enough. I never met you. I'm just saying that this comes to the place of love. Not everybody. All I'm saying is what we said. Yeah. Like, what is the alternative to not talking? Just sit at your lunch table and don't talk to anybody. Talk to him. I've interviewed Trump. This was not an interview. From his perspective, you have to understand that people out there know, all Americans know, that for him, this was a PR stunt. And in his view, you were a prop. that PR stunt. Okay, so it was a PR stunt. So what if it was? Haven't we gotten used to the presidency as an endless series of PR stunts?
Starting point is 00:07:01 Obama and Biden didn't do public relations? And here, I thought Trump was a unique threat, unlike any other. Marr and Josh Rogan are proving the point that in many ways, Trump is like other presidents. Except, I don't know any other president who would do this. I had my staff collect and print out this list of almost 60 different insulting epithets that the president had said about me things like stupid dummy low-life dummy
Starting point is 00:07:32 sleaze bag sick sad stone cold crazy really a dumb guy fired like a dog his show is dead I brought this to the White House because I wanted him to sign it which he did with good humor. And I know, as I say that, millions of liberal sphincters just tightened.
Starting point is 00:07:55 So there you have it. Liberals are upset because the world is finding out that Trump is unpredictable and hilarious, but he's also presidential. Or what he himself likes to describe as modern presidential. And as Marr admits, he's human. But that's the problem, isn't it? Because according to the Church of Perpetual Outrage,
Starting point is 00:08:16 you must never humanize the enemy. And once you realize that almost everything you've been told about Trump is a lie, you start asking yourself questions. Like, what else have I been misled about? Remember, the media needs Trump to be the boogeyman, the evil, incoherent, wild-haired threat to democracy itself. Because if he's not that, if he's just a guy with a knack for plain speaking and trolling, well, then you can't scare voters with him anymore. But here's the good news. People are tired of the fear factory. Tired of being told who they can talk to, who they can laugh at, who they can laugh at, who,
Starting point is 00:08:48 they can share a meal with. It's one of the reasons Trump won. And thanks to Trump for calling out media lies for several years now, people are making up their own minds. And for a media machine that survives on hysteria, nothing is more dangerous. Listen ad-free with a Fox News podcast plus subscription on Apple Podcasts.
