With months of planning and full approval from boss Rob, the boys attempt a grand theft auto–style art heist: steal the company Suzuki Swift and nab a stairwell painting without being detected. Yet the one area, Hamish and Andy, have rarely ventured. But all that changed months ago when Hamish saw an old film called Sneakers that we don't in any way expect you to have seen. But the gist is that a crew of professionals are hired by businesses to break into their own places of work to test their security. So, Hamish and Andy put out a call. This is our plan to test small business security somewhere. Which boss out there would secretly nominate?

their work place to be burgled without telling their employees. We'll go and rob them and it's all a simulation. Thousands applied. From the pile, D-HM partners and accounting firm in Mildura was selected. The boss, ironically named Rob, the target, not client information. But something perhaps even more valuable, the company Suzuki Swift and a painting from the stairwell. Grand Theft Auto and an art heist.

I like that. Nothing could be discussed publicly by Hamish, Andy and Jack, for fear of a tip-off to the staff. But months ago, the planning began. Welcome, Berg Boys. Any of you followed any way here? Well, it doesn't matter because we're recording this in front of signs to say Berg Bunker.

Then there were a few months of miscommunications and a few misunderstandings. Wasn't someone going to get us the information like blueprints, Where the keys are, the schematic. You were in charge of building. I said that. You said, you definitely said blueprints. Why would I say that?

Well, that's what I was surprised. How would I get blueprints? I was surprised as well. Some mishaps. Was that a shiver of excitement or you do need to do a week? And a few other things that got in the way for a bit. I would like to be an old man. I think we don't need it.

I don't think we need it either. Then may God have mercy on you all. But then, a plan. was formed. They would fly to Mildura, buy all the necessary equipment to pretend to be from a gas company, hire a van with yellow lights,

make a fake business, get an old man mask, seal up the office building before the workers got there, then convince whoever arrived first to let them in so they could steal the painting and hopefully find the Suzuki keys.

But to me, that's kind of the hardest part. The biggest part of this heist is getting in the building. I think we have to get there early enough that we've barricaded all the... I've got your old man outfit. Why do you need it? Well, I have a better old man outfit than that. That's just a wig and some pants. Okay, what have you bought? Full prosthetic head. Right, but why do you need it? Don't you think it would be a way bigger effect

if they were like, wait a second, that old man? What? What? What? They haven't met the old man yet. So the old man, he comes, he's a big. inside. After we've rummaged, we've got the keys, we've got the painting. I change into the

old man outfit. Then I come out the back. That way no one's going, oh, that's the guys in the white suit. Like, it's not drawing any suspicion. I'm coming out. He's not drawing suspicion. Just because it's not the guys in the white suit, it's an old man stealing our car. I just really want to get. I put a lot

of effort into this old man outfit. I can be an old man in the suit. I know. Don't think that. It's a very, very old. But I guess it helps you not look like Hamish Blake from television. I could be a very, very old man. No, I think there is some sense to like,

if you see an old man in the Suzuki Swift, opposed to one of the guys in the white outfit. He's just an old man. He's harmless. He's driving a car. That makes no sense. He must be Rob's dad. Yeah, that's what I think.

I think there's more sense to that than if he's in one of the white suits. Just. But to fully sign off on the old man plan, Hamish went and got changed into the very expensive latex prosthetic mask to see if Andy and Jack approved. Don't mind me. Gus, man. This is fucking good.

No, no. This is so good and I should wear it. It's like comedy old man. Oh, my God. It's like, it's almost Halloween here. Yeah, it is. It's like Freddy. If he's walking and I'm just shuffling behind, no one's thinking this is Hamish and Andy.

No one. You look like a movie villain. Yeah, it does look like a Halloween costume, like Freddy Kruger. Yeah, you're examining it to it. People's going to glance at it. Especially not with a baseball cap on. It just looks so wrong. Well, I actually think a lot of this is about confidence, and this makes me confident.

It should have been. If you were standing where we're standing, it actually do look a bit like your dad when you took that off. With a terrible mustache on Jack And an even more terrible latex old man mask on Hamish The chance of being caught was high So Andy was keen to talk getaway plans In success, what does the getaway look like? There's a success getaway, but there's also an emergency getaway.

It's just an escape getaway. In success getaway, Hayme's out the back. Are you going to take off the white suit and just be an old man or are you going to be in the white suits I think we just once we just stay old man now

full old man we're in white suits we're getting away once we've robbed them that's the victory I mean as the Louve thieves ran off down the street

but am I going in you're coming with me if he's got the keys you go with the Suzuki but of course he'll come out the front if he can't get the keys once you guys are out you give me a code word back the other way

and we just leave all the stuff yeah we're thieves the job's done get the painting wrap it in the sheet we go out the back door where the Suzuki is. We roll up the garage.

It works. You load the painting into the back. I get into the Suzuki. I back out. I yell, Cinderella has left the ball to Jack. Beautiful. Yep, that's good.

Then we escape. Jack goes, I'll be back in a minute or whatever. You don't have to pay. Actually, you say that, say that. And I'll go. Cinderella has left the ball. It must be midnight already.

And that's my cue to get in the car. You take that on the radio in front of 10 office workers. Remember, your ear piece is in your ears. So they're not going to be any hero of the radio. So we're like, Cinderella's left the ball. Yes. You go, you just leave. We don't have to keep worrying about these, like, home and away like acting scenes we have to do in front of everyone.

Once you left, you can say whatever you like to it. Yeah, let us know. Yeah, that's great. No, I say you get back in the van, but I would like a code word for that. That is actually good. If you were like, no one's turned into a pumpkin if we're going to stick with the Cinderella thing. But you're right. By that point, we don't really need a code.

That's good there because we know then you've made it back into the van. And we now have two vehicles, one stolen. one-hour van on the road, we're getting away from the crime, and that is a success. What about we call the worker van the pumpkin and the Suzuki, the princess's carriage? Great. Cinderella's left the ball with the princess's carriage. Let's play some by you, because... I can promise you it won't go like any of the scenarios we've outlined. Five a.m., a dark street in Mildura. Three men dressed in white coveralls sit in the front of a white van. Signs adorn the side, proclaiming them to be from AGA safe energy. Yellow flashing lights illuminate the early morning sky. How'd you sleep? Too excited. Jack, I'm moustaches hate you better.

Yeah, without those handobiles, you look 50. Yeah. Well, why don't I want to look 50? Authoritative. Yeah. No, I don't look for it. I actually look younger, I thought. There's a lot of people around already. Yeah, people around and about.

No one's, none that would scream accountant turning up to work for me, and there's joggers in a street sweeper. Hey, how's everyone feeling? Everyone feels prepared? Yeah, I'm feeling pretty good. I woke up confident, so don't worry about my part. You've been great. You feel like you're right in the character.

Yeah. What's with the shoes, Andy? What shoes is you got? We had one job, mate. That was to bring boots for all your printouts and for all taking all credit for all the props that Jess bought in the meeting last night. You turned up and I looked down and I went, gee, you don't see Mizuno work boots every day. I'm wearing a runner's outfit underneath. Why? If I need this fit from you guys. I think that's... Yeah, he's in like a Nike tri-fit shirt. I think that I can just ditch the whole outfit and

pretend I'm jogging. I mean, I can see out of the corner of my eye. your old man mask. I just think that's way much of a bigger red flag than the shoes. So much more. No, wait, it's far too expensive. It buys us. It might be worth more than the Suzuki. It buys us those crucial few seconds as we're walking in, and it backs you up. Backs you up as someone looks over and goes, Oh, they've got the most weirdest-looking person I've seen today.

Takes a bit of eating. We're going to have a bunch of his wife's glasses. It's not about individual suspicion. It's about, as a collective, do we look, believe? Yeah, I think so. That way we're not all the same age. And we've got an old band in the crew. Why would someone go, I don't believe this,

because you guys are all the same age? Well, they're not going to say that. Hey, we're going to run out of time. We've got to go get it up. Driving slowly past the target location, the Berg boys began to see their plans materialize before them. Is this one of the doors, too? Yeah, this is another.

to look for some sort of garage opener as well as we want to escape with the Suzuki I'll be that we're coming to you Entrances all successfully barricaded. What followed was a 15-minute discussion about where to park the van. I was thinking how if we park over there? No, I think we should put it on the corner so we see both entrances.

Or do you want the van out the front with the lights on, Jack, for more? I think lights flashing is good. Do you want the van just parked up there with the lights on? We won't be able to see this. Why don't we just park up here a bit illegally because we've got the lights on? After much... I think we just have to do the front. Much.

They eventually parked right out the front, 20 meters from the front door. They then proceeded to admire their heisting handiwork from the footpath until they noticed something right above the front door. It looks like the security camera up the top there. We're all coming on.

Tim, we're all staring at it. Wish I'd put the mask on. Anyway, hey guys, there's a car there. There's a car there. Look official. Spooked by the CCTV, the Berg boys retreated to the safety of the pumpkin, or rather, the van.

Should I sit in the back of the van in case someone does call? Because if they turn around and they're on the phone and they're at the front door. No, you guys should be waiting in the van the whole time. Inside the van? Yeah, you don't want to be seen. I agree. Yeah, okay, we'll get the back.

Wait, should I, like, have a turn of driving? Because I haven't driven it yet. Like, what if I've got to get away? Why do you need a turn of driving? Oh, because you're going to drive as the getaway driver. Yeah. Yeah, but yesterday, because we got here earlier, we went to play golf.

Darcy and I sat in the car for, like, 20 minutes trying to turn it on. This car? We had the wrong car keys because we had the other hand. Well, do you want me, man? That obviously won't happen, but you know, just like sometimes in a high car, you don't know. Yeah. You don't know what's going on. Oh, man, I need a copy.

I can't remember them. I think I'm confident you'll know how to drive the car. But Jack wasn't confident, so he did go for a test drive. Test drive of the pumpkin commencing. Meanwhile, Hamish put on his old man mask, so he wouldn't be recognized on the street. Now we're out in like proper daylight. Yeah.

Yeah, and I can see your youthful skin and eyes underneath the sand. Yeah, no, you mean. Yeah. I look a bit like E.P. Yeah, you look like E.T. And then, oh, Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack, Jack, stop. Stop, stop, stop, stop.

You didn't close the side door of your car. Oh, good. You are so sorry. I think I'm going to take the old man suit off. Huge moment, but I think I've got to lose the old man out of it. It's too much. Yeah. I don't know why you think I'll be shocked.

I've been saying that since 10 o'clock by the car. Let's get it back in and let's go back to being properly. Yeah. Jump in the car with Jack until he can park it up and not do a costume change right out the front. Abort, abort, abort. Get in the car. Why am I getting in the car?

He's going to go from practice like. No, he's done with his daddy's lap. He called it out. Do your lap. Just give me one lap. I'll be back in a second. No one's coming yet. Not even 6 a.m.

Gosh, this is the most dangerous time, and now you've got no disguise outside. As the sun began to rise, the conversation alternated between how hungry they were. Do you want to go through Maca's in the Suzuki? That'd be a nice little victory lap, wouldn't it? And how terrible Hamish's old man. mask was.

I've got to say, I'm not feeling nude as hell without the old man mask on, but having seen it in the daylight, it was a bit old. I get it. Yeah. It was far worse when we saw it in daylight. Like last night, I was tired, but I think it was quite convincing last night, Jack. I wouldn't even use that language. After him having it on for five minutes and then putting the gas mask on to cover most

of it and a cap on to cover the other half, it might be from far away a real person. But it never looked convincing. Yeah. It is a bit rubbery. What are our names? I don't think we've ever covered that off. We're Bleak 102. Yeah, Mark, Tom and Travis.

Who's who? Who do you want to be? I'll be Travis. You know what? I should be Travis because he joined the band last. And you guys, Hamish and Andy was together and then I came. Who's the drummer?

and that's sort of like you and Andy. And Travis came later. I'll be Tom. What does he do? Andy's middle name is Thomas. I'm a drummer, so I'm Traub. Tom's the lead singer and guitarist. Okay, what are you?

I'm Mark then, if you're Travis. Yeah, you're the bassist. Yeah. You're the bassist. Yeah. I'm very good with names and bases. And he wears glasses, and I've got glasses on today as a disguise.

I don't know why we meant our alias is to line up With our personalities. Okay. But, yeah, that's good. Mark, Tom, Travis, great. Well, I'm sure those names won't get confusing in the heat of the moment at all.
