A listener production.
Activate your internet.
Because the Hamish and Andy podcast starts in three, two.
Sorry, still buffering.
Ahoy to me garta.
Hamish.
Yes, okay.
Ahoy.
Are you a...
Just an elastic-headed bow tie.
Are we like...
Are we elastic things you can put.
on your body.
No, not quite.
A hoi to my confetti, Jack.
Ahoy, we're wedding related, surely.
We're wedding related.
Yes.
And I would be the bouquet.
If you'd have said,
a hoi to me custom-built golf ball
with two ring cavities inside,
I would have known exactly what you were talking about.
We are the three main things thrown at a wedding.
Oh, that's a great one.
But again, the golf ball.
Technically, it's not thrown.
It is chipped.
Yes. Garta, the catcher, traditionally male, is supposed to be married next.
You don't see too much of that happening these days.
I've never been to a wedding with that.
I've been to one.
I've been to one.
And I didn't know what it was about.
I was 18 at the time.
And I went, what's going on here?
Isn't that the best man?
Yeah.
He's reaching on the dress.
I was like, what is going on?
What is this what we do?
Takes off the garter, flicks it out.
The bouquet, obviously, traditionally, the catcher is a female,
supposedly next to marry.
And confedity.
Traditionally, it's a court in the eye by the groom.
Yes, he has decided to really bundle up the confetti as hard as they have.
And he is next to visit the St. John's representative in the backroom for an eye flush.
Ahoy also to us in the future.
Ahoy, this is the exciting, why the wedding theme start, Ando?
Yes.
Because by the time this plays out, is it, yeah, you will have been married.
I'll be married.
Congratulations, Andy.
Thank you.
Let us be the first to congratulate you before the event,
knowing that when this is played, this will make sense.
Yeah, we finished this record and then we're all hauling off to the wedding.
As this goes out, we should all be at recovery.
Less than 36 hours ago, I got married.
Hopefully it went well.
And what we thought we'd do...
Risky, this is a risk.
This is a risk.
But, you know, with the people's show and we love our audience so much,
I wanted you guys be the first to hear anything from the wedding.
So Hamish and I, if we've remembered,
our recording voice memos as we go through the day.
Jack, you're not at the, it won't be with us at the start,
but definitely in the middle, and we'll grab you for that.
This is the plan.
This is fun because this is us now officially saying the plan,
which is we're going to like record, yes, snippets,
like moments from the day that we're put now in this thing
that is usually a listener message.
Yep. But it should be from us in the future as we say this, but in the past as this goes out.
We'll hopefully be able to locate the bride and see how she feels about us surprising her with chipping the rings,
even though she said we weren't allowed to. No, we're not doing that.
Pali just gave me some really wide eyes. No, but yes, we're over to us in the future now.
Hopefully Beck rocked up and hopefully this is a joyous package, but we guarantee to keep it regardless.
Okay, here we go.
I was remembered to do it.
I was so happy to do it.
And I said, I'll, don't, it's your wedding day, mate.
I'm going to take care of this.
And I, Andy, just came into the hotel room here where I was just fidgeting around with some cufflinks.
I just bought in Chinatown.
And they went, do want to do one of these voice notes?
Shit, yes.
90 minutes.
We've got 90 minutes before the go talk.
Here we go.
How you feeling?
I'm feeling great.
Yeah.
You've seen the venue now.
Yep.
I think we should get hogs over here.
Just to say, we're looking up over New York City.
The venue is on a rooftop.
It's awesome.
I just want to see how he would have felt chipping the ball, the rings.
Oh, my God.
Given the fact that...
Just before we get Hawks over.
So where I'm seeing, Hawks and I.
Yes, how's that going?
Yeah, well, what's...
I mean, in terms of my preferred double act,
there is another man in the room I would prefer to do a double act with.
He's great.
He's great.
But I think Hawks are a little nervous because, like, I've just tried to keep it, like, the structure of it.
Yeah.
We don't have to script this.
No, no.
It's like, you know, cover off on this.
coming off,
so Hawks goes,
okay, so he goes,
so I'll get up,
I'll start,
and I go, yeah, great.
And I'll just go,
so what do you reckon,
like, just welcome or hello?
It was like, yeah,
totally, just the way,
fill it out,
sort of, yeah,
starting type words,
he goes, and I'll say,
I'm hogs,
so I'm hogs.
Yep, he goes,
am I'm hogs,
or, and this is Hamish,
or Michael.
Gosh.
And I was like,
mate,
I just think we're ever thinking this.
I've had three meetings now
to the hello,
I'm Michael Central.
Great.
He's feeling good.
Once he gets off, he's going to be great.
He's going to be great.
Well, speaking of the speech, surprise, surprise speech is included.
It's made it in.
I've made it in.
Of all the things, Beck Kaiboshed, I came back and said, hey, just give me surprise
surprise, surprise, surprise.
I don't want it, but it's in your capable.
I'll tell you who really doesn't want it, but doesn't know she doesn't want it
because she doesn't know about it.
Zoe Foster Blach.
Oh, yeah, she will hate this.
She'll be glaring at me so hard.
Because the idea is we've got a bingo ball roller.
Yeah, a gold one.
Yep.
I bought it in China.
Amazing.
All balls.
And everyone has a lucky number.
Everyone has a lucky number.
Whatever ball comes out, they have to make a speech.
Yeah.
So it's not this traditional groomsman.
Do you have this hotel room for tonight?
Yep.
I might have to crash here if those number comes out.
Let's grab a ball.
Hey, Hockey.
Hey, ceiling first up.
Very excited.
Yeah, great.
Yeah.
Great.
There's magic in air. This is a great thing. Having seen the venue, how confident would you have been chipping the rings, considering it is off? Like, we're on a balcony, essentially, that.
It was quite, well, quite high, weren't we? I don't know if that makes any difference with the air. No, wouldn't, would it?
Oh, like, thinner air. Well, remember when you did the practice and you hit it, like, way over our head.
Yeah. If you did that today, they would have sailed over our heads off the balcony.
and then 14 stories down into the streets below of Chinatown.
With very important rings.
Yeah, I'm...
If you're up for it, Omf, is this still on the car?
Because I promise you I won't know what I did.
It would be a huge late change on Rebecca Harding,
who has been pretty anxious and also doing direct about the way things should run today.
I think that's fair for a bride to want to know the details of her wedding.
Yeah, yeah.
So I think that's...
I think we'll start with...
But I would have been fine.
I promise you.
Okay.
That the history book show would have been fine.
I did see the drop and go,
okay.
We would have need someone stationed below with a baseball glove.
To catch the rooms.
Final one.
I got off the plane and I was on Instagram
checking people's stories and so on.
You see, Jax?
No.
He got a free suit.
Did he?
He did.
He did a whole thing about, I'm off to get my history.
suit for Andy and Beck's wedding.
Oh, my God.
He did a full ad.
It's quite incredible.
He's like, I choose this person, I do this, for selections, and now I've got a suit
for Andy and Beck's wedding.
The Weasel on Tour.
Yeah.
Did we get ours for any deal?
Oh, we've got a little bit of a deal for sure.
I don't mind.
I mentioned you, Pete Johnson.
They're the best.
Not for jab.
Not for Jack.
Not mentioning his suit name.
All right.
Room weaseling only, so.
So I feel like we've achieved this.
If everyone hears from us a gear,
I know.
I'm so glad this is done.
We'll try and get the bride at some point.
Let's get the bride.
Do we do another one before the wedding?
Yeah.
Let's do one in the buildup.
Let's do one from the altar.
Okay, right.
I'll do a quick one from the altar,
and then we'll do one as soon as you married.
Okay, goppy.
Good love.
Thank you, bud.
I've got Andy Lee, the groom right before he's about to get married.
How are you feeling about your free suit?
How do you know his phrase?
If this is why I'd come up to do this voice message, shame on you.
No, it's not.
If you think there's something like if a weasel asks for a favour on a wedding day, he can't deny it.
Like the godfather or something, you are sore mistaken.
There is some kind of rule like that.
We'll never mention the brand of that suit.
Oh, your dad, I can't deny me a favour or something.
Isn't it the father of the groom? No, father of the bride.
I think in Indian culture you steal the groom's shoes.
And you don't give him back to him unless he pays a handsome price,
which is something right up your L.
I think Andy also does need to be in the mafia for that to work.
I just, no, honestly, I came to congratulate you.
Who paid for suits?
It doesn't matter.
It's a lovely day.
It's a lovely event.
Everybody looks great.
How are you feeling?
And why do you look great?
Thanks to?
Thanks to the...
We're definitely cutting that out.
We're definitely cutting that out.
We're definitely getting that out.
Keep that in.
No, no.
Well, who gets to say?
We're not even there at the podcast.
strange because me and Annie were standing here doing a bit of pre-wedding best friend stuff.
Jack runs down the middle of the aisle. You've got like a reporter. You're the guy that we do
the show with. You've come up like you've worked for the newspaper. I am looking after the
audience of the podcast, our favourite people. Get back down. Okay, yeah. Not a cruise to see,
honestly, good to see you. I can stay up here if you need me. No, we're next to person.
No, no, all good. A whole place is looking at you.
Going, why do Annie invite a reporter?
All that remain is to make this official.
So that said, it gives me so much joy to pronounce you husband and wife.
You're back.
Hey, it's Jack.
It's an hour since you've expected to Andy.
And they've just said, I do.
Those people are cheering because Andy and Beck are now married.
It was a beautiful ceremony.
Honestly, it was so beautiful.
Their vows were beautiful.
It didn't even need the chipping of the rings.
It was perfect.
Congratulations to Beck and Andy.
Just a really quick one.
We're at the after-party for Andy's wedding,
and I mean, he wants to enjoy the night,
but let's get him really quickly.
He's right here.
How are you, Andy?
Jack, still astounded that you went straight up the middle of the aisle
before the bride did just to be a part of this,
but I would expect nothing less.
You look stunning, by the way.
Do you want to list where Bianca's dresses from
Did she get that for free or?
Bianca had to pay for her.
She doesn't have a big social present.
I just want to say,
Andy's Bals and Bex,
actually were very beautiful.
You don't have to use the word actually, mate.
It's quite all right.
All right, we're secured the bride for an interview.
Couldn't believe it.
Mrs. Lee, for the first time.
Yes.
How do you feel?
Fantastic.
Thank you.
You were amazing, Beck.
Thank you.
Thank you so much.
Any grips with me as a husband so far?
I'm terrible at picking up the dress.
Yeah, I knew there was one coming.
She was like, just leave it.
I was like, it is the streets of New York.
Yeah, resale value is shot.
You're not getting rid of that secondhand.
Guys, we're going to go and intro to you.
You've got a, I don't want to spoil the surprise,
but you've got a poem from hogs coming up.
Oh, yes, dogs.
Yes, Hawks.
Hey, you're feeling.
A little nervous.
Yeah, yeah.
This is not my game.
You're very good at that.
But I'll be right.
Yeah.
You enjoy, boys.
See you.
Thank you, guys.
See you, mate.
me?
Yeah.
Great.
That's recorded, everyone.
He loves me.
Well, and we assume that was all good fun.
And that wasn't, you have to assume that it was like hijinks and like we're having a great
time.
Yeah, I hope so.
So, apologies.
This would be a huge U-turn if we've come off Beck, not rocking up and we've found a kissing
Jack.
Yeah.
Interesting if we still play the audio as well there, just because we're through to it.
We must.
We must.
We've got to put something in pledge here that we will.
no matter what.
So I guess this is a nice sort of time capsule.
Back to happier times.
Happier days when the promise of the future was golden.
Even though it is happier times and happier days,
unfortunately, Ando, we will upset you one final time
before you become a married man as we do this.
Thing is neat and practical,
because that's the way he likes it.
But what if it wasn't?
Upset Andy.
All right, Ando, fresh batch coming in.
They are goodies.
Let's start with David.
David, have you got something to upset Andy?
Ahoy, boys.
Gusto, too.
Ahoy, you, David.
I do have something to upset Andy.
It upsets me as well, so I'm on your side here, Andy.
Nice, mate.
Sorry, Hame.
Yeah.
At work, part of our uniform, we've got like a light khaki pants.
It's almost even cream-colored.
It's that light.
Each side of the pants has a, like a slip to put pens in.
Cool.
We use pens quite frequently, and one of my colleagues sees so fast and loose
that he can't be bothered reclicking his pens after he's used it.
I'm sure you see where this is going.
Yeah, no.
Every single pair of his pants has black pen lines leading all the way down into the pen pocket.
No, it's a simple click.
What workplace is it?
What industry is we talking?
We're police officers in the...
In the middle of Australia.
I do say he's got more important stuff to do.
They obviously...
Do they make it on both sides
because it's like...
Is that like in the old west
where they had a gun holster
like a pistol on both hips?
But is it just because they're a left-right pant
and you can just choose...
You never know when you need a quick pen release.
Yeah, and also left a right-handed people.
Yeah, that's all thinking.
You just have ambidextrous pants.
But I just say he's so...
busy. He's got other stuff to do.
Thank you for your service. He's enforcing the law.
Well, you've got to be presentable.
I'm not saying you should be that sloppy with, you know,
the capsicum spray or the gun or whatever.
I'm sure he does safe stuff there, but with the pen,
you can be a little bit fast and loose on that.
Thank you, David. Yeah, don't like that one.
Charlie, a hooy to you.
Ahoy, boys. Happy birthday, Andy.
Don't actually celebrate them.
Charlie, tell us, you've got something upset me?
Yeah, so back in the day when me and my mate,
were uni, students, me used to live together.
We'd do a big weekly shop at the end of the
week on a Sunday and we come home and instead of getting everything out of, you know,
the shopping baskets, put them away because he's got time for that.
We just put it all in the fridge.
Everything's in there.
And then whatever we need, we'd go in the fridge, get it out.
What, put the whole basket in the fridge.
Put the whole bags.
Two or three bags there.
You should chuck them in the fridge.
Pretty smart.
No, I don't like that either.
That is pretty smart.
You're not to actually save much time because then you have to pull out the bag and, you know,
ferret through it.
That's not how the fast and loose brain works.
that fast on this brain is only interested in saving time now.
And at the unpacking stage of the shopping,
that saves a ton of time now,
even if you might have to pay it back down the line.
Perry, Perry hot for me on that one.
It has to be in the fridge, in its section.
And I think that...
I know it does.
A plastic bag in the fridge would send you wild.
Even if we had like a bowl of pasta
and I put a plastic bag over that
because I couldn't find Gladrap.
That would destroy you, wouldn't it?
Yeah, that's not for me either.
It's got to be presentable.
Okay.
Thanks very much.
Charlie to Chloe.
Chloe, ahoy to you.
Ahoy, boys.
How are we?
Good.
Very good, Chloe.
What have you got to upset Andy?
So I think it's really practical, but I love my cup of tea in bed, but I can't go to
sleep without brushing my teeth.
And once I'm in bed, there's no way I'm getting back out of bed to go brush my teeth.
So I make my cup of tea, stop past the bathroom as it's on the way, prepare my toothbrush,
get into bed, all comfy, watch a TV, enjoy my cup of tea.
once my tea's empty,
oh, toothbrush is there, brush my teeth,
my cup's empty, dispose of the leftover toothpaste,
roll over, good night, deal with it in the morning.
But you need some water.
You need water.
You're not meant to brush it.
You're not meant to rinse your mouth with water afterwards.
It gets through the rules of fluoride.
I think that's wrong.
I think that's wrong.
I don't think.
I think this is a great plan.
So do I.
But also you have, we'd have like the,
suds the leftover.
They'll dissolve, sir.
Over time, they'll melt away.
Don't you wake up with it just like a weird
pasty drawl everywhere?
The only difference is location.
If you brush your teeth and then walk to bed,
it's the same. You're not meant to rinse your mouth out.
She's got you.
What is?
They're clean.
Don't they have mouthwashes for after you brush your teeth?
That's a different thing.
I'd still be doing that from bed, so.
That's just another scam, big dental runs
at you trying to, you to.
You have more steps in the nighttime process.
Thank you, Chloe.
I hate that.
I completely hate that.
Emma.
Emma, have you got something to upset, Andy?
Yeah, hooy, boys.
Yeah.
My eyebrow palette dropped on the ground in the bathroom at the start of the year
and it smashed in the corner.
Is that makeup?
Yeah, yeah.
So you're dark in your eyebrows a little?
Yeah.
Yeah, you need the tiniest bit.
So it's just smashed in the corner there.
So I've just continued to use it on the,
the daily, dipping my little brush into the tiny eyes in the corner.
Yeah, it's hard to pick up, isn't it, make up?
Yeah, it is.
And it's my favourite one, and it's a bit of a waste.
So I thought until I get a new one, I'll just continue to use that.
Yeah, that's a nice little spot for it.
Yeah, it's going on nine months.
Going on nine months.
No.
Yeah.
The kicker is every time I start the robot vacuum, I have to make a little barrier there with the
Russian costume.
Emma, you're seeing the quality of your brows deteriorate at all
as this is exposed to the bathroom floor for nine months?
Look, it doesn't seem to be, but the gradual dust inclusion may be making a difference.
Dessing-in-out clippings.
Yeah, no, that's up for me.
I like it, Emily.
Especially like the fort.
Fast-at-loose.
You know where it is.
It's got its home now.
I would have thought Andy would love it.
Everything in its place.
The eyebrow stuff goes in the corner.
You got time for one more?
Dave, Dave, a hoy to you, sir.
Can you upset Andy?
Yeah, so a few weeks ago, the sink in my bathroom had a bit of a slow drain.
So, you know, the water would take a few minutes to get down there.
Got to clean it out.
Yeah.
But then, as, you know, it kept going and becoming slower and slower.
But it was still draining.
So if it was full in the evening by the time I got up in the morning, you know, the water had gone away.
But then as of a couple of days ago, unfortunately, it's completely stopped now.
And the sink is just full of water.
But I'm a busy man.
So, you know, I don't have time to unclog it.
I'm just letting it go and I'm just becoming friends with the water now.
It's a little bit, me.
Permanent trough.
Dave, what are your household arrangements?
Is it a sharehouse?
Do you have a partner there with you?
It's just me, fortunately.
Yeah.
I'm not a shock.
Not a shock.
But it is, it has become,
I think even cows in paddocks do get a slight refresh in the drop.
Would you consider bailing it out to the toilet?
I'm not telling you that you don't have to do something as crazy as fix it,
but would you consider bailing it out once a week and refreshing?
Yeah, yeah, probably.
I mean, there's also one of sinks.
There's other things in the house, so maybe I'll just switch gear, you know.
Yeah, my great.
Yeah, three more things in the house, as they say.
Thank you, Dave.
Very, very hot.
Finish with the worst one.
Hame, so many people have applied to be in the audience.
Go to haemachshan.com if you want to be a part of the audience for the price is correct,
featuring the tip-in point.
What are we approaching now?
We're approaching two million applications.
Wow.
And as every minute goes past, we get closer and closer to the
that crazy 2 million mark.
Knowing we only going to have 130 in the audience,
it's really quite a staggering concept.
Yeah, yeah.
I think we're just around 2000,
but as it goes up...
Well, it's not moving away from it.
No, no.
It's we're certainly approaching that big, big whopping number.
Wow.
Wow. Make a headline out of that.
We should jump into it.
Come on through.
The price is correct.
Featuring the tip-in point.
A proviso of applying to be in the audience was you had to tell us how you were spreading the word of the podcast.
We realised we've spent, well, we'll be over $100,000 on this concept by the end of it.
And we should have some marketing bang for buck.
That's the thing.
We spent long enough in commercial radio to go, wait a second.
I mean, we got into this because we did just want to give away the value of that Bitcoin in prizes to the people.
It felt like the right thing to do.
We love our listeners.
this whole exercise of people kind of writing in talking about the show,
talking about how they're talking about it,
it's only made, on a serious note,
it's only made us fall even more deeply in love with the people that listen to this show.
There's so many amazing stories that come in.
Well, we need to pick a few people to potentially be in the audience.
But we've got to pick people that have got to be in the audience.
But we commercial hat back on, like feelings on one hand is like,
it's lovely to hear the stories of what the show means to people.
But to put our business hats back on,
The whole reason radio stations give away money,
give away, you know,
we're going to pay your bills.
It's a trick to try and get more listening.
And like,
that's not where we started.
We forgot about that.
We forgot about that.
We did start with love in our hearts.
Yes.
But hang on a second.
Could we have both?
Could we have love in our hearts,
but also have it as a trick to gain more listeners for the podcast?
We say yes.
So the condition was unstructured, but get out there.
You've had, you've got your instructions.
just get us, spread the word, get us more listeners.
What are you doing to help us get some bang on buck for this investment we've made
of $100,000 in prizes and expenses?
It's going to well over that.
Yeah, I'll start.
Stephanie, she said in her submission, when you all did the jingle joust,
Hayne did one about Bupa.
Yep.
She must work there because she said,
I shared the link with 2,000 Bupa contact center employees in
a group chat used strictly only for work purposes. It was immediately flagged as not work relevant.
I was worried we get in trouble from people because it wasn't that complimentary.
I mean, but again, in our defence, it was just, it made an interesting observation about the
entire private health industry rather than singling out one company.
She says, it goes up to say it was then allowed by the top boss because, in quotes, it was funny.
So there's 2,000 more people that may not have known about the pod.
Is Steph the kind of person we'd like in the audience?
Mate, I mean, that's huge.
What an effort.
Yes, I say yes.
P, Sper, I can swim.
Steph, you're in.
You are in.
Oh, my gosh.
Just on that, it wasn't all that complimentary about Bupa.
Were you confident sharing it to every employee?
Not really.
I actually thought about messaging Hamish and explaining how health insurance worked,
but I didn't.
Right.
Appreciate that.
Did you have some gripes with the way Hayme went about his ad?
Look, like my boss said, it was funny.
Okay, yeah, it was the layperson's understanding of how health insurance worked.
But I'm sure if I sat down with you and got my policy fully explained,
there'd be some great savings I could make.
We'll do a cover of you after the show.
Yes, we'll find some time of the air breaks.
Well, I hope I'm not fishing you out of the pool.
I hope I'm loading your arm.
comes up with cash and prize.
That's right.
Because if you get wet...
Yeah, well, I can swim, like I said.
Yes.
If you get wet, that's all you get.
Okay, well, we'll see you.
We'll see you in the studio.
Thanks, Steph.
Awesome.
Thanks, boys.
Hey, maybe...
Another candidate.
This was a three-person submission.
Came in from a group of three friends.
Now, are we giving people tickets like a plus one for every ticket?
Yeah.
I think, well, Carly's nodding.
This could be a plus two because it is a three-person submission.
So it could be a rare three-personer,
which will balance.
out with a lone wolf.
Yep.
If anyone wants to apply as a lone wolf,
let's see if we can balance them out.
This was huge, ando.
This comes from Molly, Lisa and Tom.
They're in Victoria.
And, I mean, talk about getting the word out for the show.
They start off by going,
we know you guys are familiar with the pricing of billboards on a golf course.
We are.
I think that's a very effective form of advertising the public golf course,
whole sponsorship at small ball golf.
But they said, do you know you can use a billboard in Melbourne?
for very similar rates in the Melbourne CBD.
There are digital billboards on the Yarra.
This would be pretty close to your place, Ando.
There's like a, it's near the Nilex sign.
It's like not on the Nilex sign,
but it's like a long bat stretch of road there.
They have sent video evidence in of not only did they hire a billboard for us,
for the Hamish and Andy podcast,
but have evidence of them jumping in a body of water,
the Yarra, in front of said billboard.
That's amazing.
That's, yes, well, they're in.
They're in.
I think we've got Molly.
I think we've got Molly on the line that represents the trio.
Molly.
Ahoie, boys, gusto to you.
And gusto to you.
Full gusto for your efforts, guys.
Thank you very much.
Molly, the Yarra isn't well known for being at a level of cleanliness to be able to swim in.
Was it lip sealed and you guys were all fine at the end of that?
I'd love to say lips were sealed, but I have some regrets.
The pinkie is clearing up, so that's good to know.
If I can survive the Yarra, I should be okay if I do have to tip.
You are well-conditioned.
Let Lisa and Tom know, but we would love to have you there.
That is amazing news.
I will absolutely know as soon as I can.
She's in.
Off the top of your head, is there a particular prize you would hope to win from the showcase
from those that have been revealed?
Look, between the three of us, I think we're all competing for different things.
So we pretty much have a rule where whoever gets a prize that another person wants the most will go to them.
The ping pong table is not something that appeals to me, but it would go to my partner absolutely well.
So I'm just excited to get what I can get and hopefully not get wet.
Great. Did she come up with that?
I mean, we should pay it.
No, that's nice.
It's a good line, yeah.
Isn't that the tagline of the show?
Maybe she added, like, you get what you get and you don't get wet.
Yeah, that's true.
That is true.
The contestants tagline.
I think our tagline was once you get wet, that's all you get.
Yeah, yeah.
It works to matter of which side of the problem you approach it from.
Sam Ham is a potential candidate.
He says, I bring new listeners to the H&A podcast through dating apps.
How so?
Whenever I match with someone who has podcast recommendations as one of their prompts,
the first thing I say to them is that they need to listen to the Hamish Nandy podcast
and that it provides the level of entertainment nothing else can.
He said, this method appears to be extremely successful.
As whenever I do this, I always get an unmatch,
so they must immediately be going off to listen to the podcast.
They have no longer have time for dating.
That's true.
I am buoyant and I can swim.
Let's get this.
He might be the lone wolf.
It could be the lone wolf.
He doesn't seem like he can get a plus one.
He's the perfect single ticket.
Let's quickly got to finish, got to finish with this.
This comes in from William, Annie's sister, who sent in a video showing their dedication.
I mean, from what it looks like, it seems legit, but I think they spray painted their car.
They spray painted their car with Listen to H&A.
Download the H&A podcast all over their car.
He joins us now.
William, did you, have you ruined your car?
Yeah, that worries me, William.
Yeah, I have ruined it a bit.
It was supposed to just be short, like the paint that you put on the road,
and I thought it would wash off, and my car's all white and patchy now,
but it's all right.
It was great.
I mean, basically, I saw the video, in the video,
you're just kind of like, you know, peeling out of your house,
like burning out of the backyard kind of thing,
and a bit of a tire spin.
How, like, how long was your promotional drive for?
I don't know.
It was on the car for about a day or two,
and then I washed it off.
attempted to by the sounds of things you have added a paint that didn't come off as easy as you'd
hoped yeah well i mean let's hope that um will you can come along yeah and win a one half size electric
Porsche at um that the prize is correct and you won't need you won't need that other car anymore
i will you're in mate you're in oh fantastic thank you you make we look forward to see you there
we'll see you there um we'll be reaching out to more
people off air, but we should do another batch of these.
I mean, these are keeping them coming in.
We are approaching 10 million, as we said.
Yeah, wow.
But you still stand a good chance to get a ticket.
Gentlemen, as promised, I believe, in the last show, a significant Hames Hives update.
Do you need an assistant?
I would like to, Jack, do you still have your Irish guy's number?
I've got his number, yeah.
He's actually a very nice guy.
I don't know if that.
Sounds awesome.
Like I see, it sounds like I see, sound like your life coach.
But I realize I too have some weeding that needs to be done.
And maybe my garden's too overgrown.
And that's why I haven't been able to get this honey business up and running.
But I jest.
I jest because boy oh boy, have I been a busy king bee behind the scenes.
I mean, bee ranching is no joke.
Let me just say that off the top.
Starting a honey business whilst it can sound great to really show your friends
who's boss and go, I'll prove to you, this is a great idea.
There is quite a lot to do to set up 5 million head of bee and to set up the ranch and to
really, you know, not just do that, but then bottles, packaging.
Oh, yeah.
That's the part that I'm a bit nervous for you.
Getting honey from New Zealand into Australia to, you know how the customs is always like,
oh, don't bring honey in?
It was actually on a flight back from New Zealand where they're like, no, no, no, don't you
dare bring animal products in here, that a little voice in my brain went, but that's what
you're doing at a commercial level. And so we're working on that. This is the part I'm
nervous for you is that at the end of it, when you said it before, you know, it can, it can appear
like a great thing to do and I told you so to your friends. Yeah. What are you hoping Jack and my
reaction is? No, I mean, look. No. He did it. You were there for good resistance at the start. It's
probably what spurred me into action.
But now it's actually for a love of ranching the beans that I'm doing it.
You're going to need that because this spot,
like this building a business out of spite is going to run out of steam.
Like even if you do in a year.
The spot's gone.
The spot's gone, Jack.
Okay.
It's faded away.
But it did help get me going.
Okay, good.
Yeah.
Because remember when the honey's on the shelf, it's not like,
okay, we did it.
We made a business.
Like, wouldn't you have to keep running it year and your ass?
Yes.
No, my ads won't be.
Help me prove to these guys that this is good honey.
The honey will speak for itself because it will be the world's most premium honey.
I mean, it's unbelievable.
Here's the significant update.
A couple of days ago on social media, the logo was revealed.
Now, you guys might follow Hames Hives on Instagram.
You might not.
I don't.
No.
That's fine.
The logo, we're very happy with the branding.
I also went to New Zealand to start the actual process of getting the honeyboxes out into the mountains,
into these spots through the Alps
because it is high altitude alpine honey.
Got to get the boxes up there.
I want you to, in a second,
I'm going to send you some photos.
And we don't just have a brand for Hames Hives,
but in true, because it's starting to, you know,
as a bee farmer, like the fun of running all these high country bees
is, you know, it's exciting.
It's exciting to be a bee rancher.
So I thought, why not take the brand and turn it into an,
actual brand that you would brand cattle with back in the Western times.
Yes.
Not to brand the bees,
because I certainly don't want to,
they're very small and you don't want to hurt them,
and I love them,
but to brand the honey boxes,
to brand the hives.
So if you have a look here at the video I've sent you,
that is the Hames Hives.
All the hives are getting hot iron branded.
With my custom-made brand.
And then I'll just send you a little photo,
a little sneak peek.
as we took the boxes up into the valley to start placing the hives in their first locations.
It's very medieval, isn't it, Jack?
I'm watching the video now.
He's got a hot iron branding and it goes to the side of the box.
That's just tell other bee ranches, don't mess with us.
And the logo is just a simple H within an H.
And it kind of looks like AFL football goals.
Yeah.
Like with a reflection.
Yeah.
It actually looks like footy goals on a lake.
Yeah, 40 goals on a lake, particularly when it's pretty.
That's what we're going for.
Well, it's actually quite clever because it's Hames Hives honey, right?
So you can make three Hs out of that.
But because we're doing two products, we're doing the honey,
which would be beautiful in a box that anyone would be delighted to give or be given.
Got the honey, but we're also doing Hames Hives, which is the energy gel.
And that logo is also three H's.
So it kind of works across two product lines.
Well done.
The other thing that I wanted to inform you about is there was a bit of chat about a month
to go about, hey, November 11, it's the launch party.
It said, come along.
It's a cocktail party.
We'll have the honey there.
I think I said we're going to do a live cross to some of the bees.
Here's the thing about the honey.
The bees actually make it over summer.
They don't really get much ready for the start of summer.
The bees, they're busy.
Don't get me wrong.
They are flat out.
They actually work themselves to death.
They kind of, you know, they really take too much of a break.
November 11, I have now changed the excitement level is the same.
I didn't actually think that launch party was going ahead, so I'm not shocked.
Not at all.
Great, great, because it's not.
But what it is now is as much more, I'm still inviting both of you to come,
but it's still a much more intimate event that's actually the launch of the website.
Oh, no, we don't want to go to that.
You're invited.
I'm not sure if we can go to the Honey launch.
You're invited.
Well, there'll be a little
golf and cutting.
Okay, well, I'm inviting you both.
I can join on FaceTime or something if you want.
I'm inviting you both, see if you can make it.
November 11th, that's the day the website will go up and pre-orders will begin.
We'll also have a small unveiling of the box.
We'll have the packaging ready.
Okay.
So see what you can do because honestly I'd love you guys to be there.
The guest list will be really quite intimate.
If we're not there, will anyone else be there?
will be nervous.
See if you can make it.
Just give me two maybes.
Do maybe.
It's a maybe.
Hey, if I've got nothing else, I'll definitely be there.
I appreciate that because it's still very exciting
that we're going to be launching the website.
Yes.
And that's when people can purchase,
can start pre-ordering the honey.
That makes me nervous for you.
What do you mean?
Well, just when you take people's money,
you have to give them something.
Well, don't worry.
I mean, I think people will see the side.
they'll see the product and be like, all right, this thing's legit.
I mean, the hives are going up there now.
We just have to wait until about November.
That's when you put the bees in.
They're all sleeping at the moment.
They're just waking up.
Yeah, the bees hibernate, do they?
They hibernate, yeah.
That's actually what they make honey for.
The hibernate.
They make honey to eat during the winter because there's like nothing around.
And we steal it from them.
That's a bit more.
Yeah, well, we come to an agreement.
They love it.
Haim, something's been happening to me,
mainly through direct messages on Instagram
since I told the story about losing my AirPods
and tracking them to a pretty unruly suburb in LA.
Do you still watch them move around?
I still watch them.
They're still there.
They're still sitting there and I'm going back to the state soon,
so I'm tempted to go back out.
Why, sorry, just on this,
shouldn't we be able to deactivate them remotely?
Shouldn't that also be a thing?
That could be a good thing.
To punish thieves?
Yes.
Like if it's your friends, registered to your,
like Apple account, shouldn't you be able to be like,
oh, you can make them play high-pitched noises whenever you want.
That's a better idea.
What is an annoying song?
Or patch yourself straight in.
Yeah.
Pat yourself straight in.
Hey, I know what you've done.
That's a better idea.
Come on.
Well, that would tell you they're in an ear right now.
Would you like to talk to the feed?
Yes.
I would.
Good feedback for Apple.
It would take away one thing that is fun.
Actually, it wouldn't take away.
It actually maybe enhance one thing.
It has been.
fun. This is what people have been doing for me. They've been sending me where their
air pods are holiday. This one came in from Carl. Hey guys, I lost my AirPods in Australia,
but they're currently in Iraq, having a great time seeing the world. Wow, that's cool. This one
from Josh. Hey guys, I was traveling in Greece when I lost my AirPods. They're now in Norway,
and I have the address. Is there any potential Norway listeners out there that might want to go and
recover my AirPods for me? So everyone is watching.
their AirPods holidaying and it's just a fun
little pastime. I'm calling it
now. This is actually a good idea for a reality
series. It's called AirPod Vigilante
and it's like Dog the Bounty Hunter.
But it's a group like the A team
and you ride in and you tell them I've lost my AirPods
and then they travel the world kicking down doors
to get your AirPods back. I like it.
It's a bloody good show. It's a very good show.
Tiana
wrote in as well and there's been
a lot. There was a couple of highlights but this one
I thought was particularly good, so I've got her to join us today.
She joins us now.
Ahoy, Tiana.
Aoy, Tiana.
Aoy, boys, and hello number six.
Ahoy.
Tiana, tell us phase one of this story, because your email came in in two bouts.
Yes, I kind of preempted the first one, but I just wanted to get in quick.
I went to Sydney for a three-day work trip, and my fiancé had bought me new AirPod Pro
3.
Nice.
Very nice.
And on the last day I was in, the office,
I went downstairs for the lobby to take a phone call, and I left my AirPods case.
I realized when I'd gone back up to the 50th floor.
And I quickly went downstairs, and I was like, where are they?
And I did the Pinging thing too, which is impossible when you're in the middle of a busy commercial spot.
But couldn't find them, walked around for a good hour, following that little dot, that pesky little dot kept moving.
Yeah.
So they're on the move.
And then I go across the Harbour Bridge.
Yeah.
Okay.
And when it crossed the Harbour Bridge, I was like, they're gone forever.
Yeah.
Why take a case?
Were the pods in the case?
No, I had the pods.
So in my ears.
Yeah, that's a thing.
Do you reckon the thief just saw a closed case and went,
I'll just quickly swoop those and I'll check him out when I get home?
Because you wouldn't assume that there'd be, it'd be an empty case.
No, you wouldn't assume that.
But also, I was running around Brian Guru desperately looking,
so I'm sure he would have seen me.
But I had the case tracked very closely.
They went over the Harbour Bridge.
and I had to go back to Melbourne, sadly,
but I took Andy's approach of tracking their every move
day in, day out, where they went to work, when they went home.
And then I was like, well, they've got to know they're missing
because I flagged, you can put the phone number in as well.
Yes.
And flagged them as missing, which I didn't know was a thing.
So I was like, oh, they'll call me back.
I'm dinging this thing every like five minutes, really, every wake in moment.
And then I thought, I was talking to my mum and she said,
but why don't you just write them a letter because you've got their address?
And I was lucky it's actually like a block of a house and a block of land.
So it was definitely that house.
Yeah, right.
So Tiar had been mapping this one's going back each night after work to a specific house
and settling there for the evening and then off it went again.
So she was very confident that this person had.
That's the dream really.
Again, no apartment block, just specific address.
Yeah.
And I was also like, well, what's fair to lose now?
You know, what's the case?
So I thought a letter won't hurt.
And handwritten was a nice touch.
That's lovely.
Yep, that's nice.
Very lovely.
But I also printed a photo of their house, which could come across as threatening.
No, it's pretty good, though, isn't it?
It's just a bit of like, hey, you're not anonymous anymore.
It's like evidence.
It was like, this justifies the letter, you know?
And I was on a Monday.
I lost the AirPods on a Friday.
And then the following Friday, I got a call from the seat's mum.
And I thought, shit, I've got a kid in trouble now.
Because the mum called me and said, like, he'll contact you, and she sent me a message.
Then he sent me a message.
But the funny thing was his message said I took them because I was afraid somebody else would take them, which didn't help me.
Yes.
So he said that.
I corresponded with him for a week.
Asked how his exams are going.
They do say this in like, you know, these situations, if you can, like humanise yourself to the criminal.
I went under them.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
And then he messaged me.
He's like, I'm on my way to your office because I said, can you just drop them off there?
I didn't want to give him my address.
Smart.
And he dropped him off on the Friday all the way up to reception and happy days.
She's got him.
Well done.
Reunited.
My proceeds of crime have been returned.
Tana, what a great story.
Again, this is...
Are you still in touch with him?
How's he doing?
Past his exam, all as well.
Well, it is good to get a success story on the board.
Yeah.
So keep them coming in if your AirPods are on holidays.
And Hamish and I may look into that TV show.
You heard of it here first.
This was the Genesis.
But if you've got any cool casting ideas for who you think would be good to be on the vigilante team for AirPod vigilantes.
Yeah, let us know.
Let us know.
Thanks, Tiana.
Cheers.
Guys.
Thanks for listening.
next week.
