Starting point is 00:00:00 A least-snap production. Activate your internet. Cause the Hamish and Andy podcast starts in 3, 2, sorry, still buffering. 1. A whole way to word out there? And welcome back for the podcast this week. Um, Ahoj, are you home? Ahoj, are you Andy? And Ahoj, are you Jack?
Starting point is 00:00:31 Hello. Can you get your surprise by that, mate? I know you. Maybe we should stop saying hello to Jack at the South of the Bokka. That's two weeks in a row, I'd seem sort of thrown in. Um, also reached out to James in Scotland. Oh yeah. And asked, what's he up to today?
Starting point is 00:00:44 And, uh, and this is what was he saying to do so I'm remixing the intro music. I'm just the other fighter Jack and this is James sub team. Hi this is James from Scotland and today I've been most of the cinema wondering which arm rest is legally mine, the left or the right? I have the person on my left is using their right one and the person on my right is using their left one. Which should I challenge for arm rest control? Sheaam's gonna be day.
Starting point is 00:01:13 It's gonna be day. We do the same situation at the scene with the other day with my wife. I employed a tactic where I began spreading my legs out. I had no arm rest on either side. Now I'm happy to give Zoe one, but lady I was seeing next to me, she'd occupied very forcefully the other one. Both sides?
Starting point is 00:01:28 She did. She had both sides here. And I started moving my arms out, and it seemed to distract almost like a military strategy. I started fighting a war on the knee front. Yep. And in that moment, she wasn't paying attention to the armrest and shifted slightly
Starting point is 00:01:40 and I was able to get right at the back. Yeah. And then as the course of the movie war on, I was able to occupy the at the back, and then as the course of the movie wore on, I was able to occupy the whole thing. Classic Churchill. So, my simple answer to James would be, Reid Sunzoo's out of war. Yeah, you'll figure it out.
Starting point is 00:01:54 I like his whole chapter on armrests. He also said, today I'll be mostly at the city. So, that's gonna be a couple of movies, doesn't it? They also go time for snacks and travel. Yep. I have a time for snacks and travel. Yep. I'm... I have a question for you to kick...
Starting point is 00:02:08 Oh, they show off, yes? Yep, yep. I was actually gonna start the show with a quick thank you. I do. From Jack to me. How is he a sushi mate? I... It was good, but I bought that.
Starting point is 00:02:18 Yeah, but how's the cleanup? Happy with the way all the trash running the bin and the fork was put in the kitchen for a while? Oh, did you do that? I play dumb. Thank you. I was straight in front of him and I'll take care of that Jack. Oh, right? Mess mess everywhere on the stool. Pick it up through the sushi way. Took his forge all the way of the kitchen. Not a peep. Thank you, Hamish. Yeah, well too little too late. Mess is right in front of your eyes. And thank you for getting my nandage. No, that's a total pleasure. And Ios. Well, at least I could do.
Starting point is 00:02:45 You're always, I feel it's, it all, you know. Comes out in the wash with me. Well, we looked after me on the weekend. I'll tell you that. Even as when we're at the casino. Now, the worst-pointing alley here. A gambler of sponsory. You nominated a slightly favourable split at the end of our money to me.
Starting point is 00:03:00 Yeah, it didn't go unnoticed. And no thanks required for you. Any of the Nandos was my pleasure to get back for you. It's with regards to the weekend. Hell yeah, what happened? Oh wait, I just thought, sorry, thanks from you, Hamish. I gave you a lift home on Friday. Oh, I said thanks as I hopped out of the car for sure.
Starting point is 00:03:16 Oh, okay. Thanks, audit. It's just a scrolling. Ah, through. Moments in our lives. He didn't even have a thanks-dead though. Of course I said things I have to have a car. Thanks for the lift, slam.
Starting point is 00:03:30 Absolutely, what would have happened. That would have happened. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You got to go back. You got to go back. Can you feel it? Scramly, because one thing dies, you can do it though. Ha, ha, ha.
Starting point is 00:03:39 Hey, yeah. On the weekend, yeah. You and I were at the same hotel. Here we were. And we wanted to go for a walk to the casino. Here we did. A little weekend away. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:53 And I was in a slightly better room. Yeah, you were. I was. Hotel's choice. They had the choice of who got who's room. We both were paying the same rate. They gave me a split-level room, Jack Odomezan, and he had a measurney floor. And I did. Which was, yeah, Jack out of mezzanine. He had a mezzanine floor and I did it.
Starting point is 00:04:05 Which was absolutely monster over on it. Anyway, when we were about to go to the casino, we went down to Consurg. Yes. You went down from your one room. Room? Tight room. And I walked down my, the mezzanine stairs, then I walked out the door. Hey, what's going on about half an hour later? Because you were so far away. You had the stuff for a rest.
Starting point is 00:04:28 Such a big room to wade through. It was like I got lost. Yeah, you took a scroggen. Just have a snack. About to die in a family though. We said we're going to go to the casino. How long will that take us to walk? That's right.
Starting point is 00:04:42 If I remember correctly they said about ten minutes. He's my question for you. Is that a standard 10 minutes? Or did she look at you and I? The length of our limbs, our physics, and then make an assumption based on our physical presence. I got the feeling because it's not too far from the casino this hotel, but should we get us that question all the time? How I reckon we've got given the stock standard
Starting point is 00:05:06 Because I reckon we easily beat it. I've seen it last at six minutes It's a And we've been looking and it wasn't there was some turns involved Yes, because I reckon we probably went the long way Hmm, so we had to sort of vibe out the way to get there And I still think we did it easy sub eight Easy, so I just wanted to call them now the concerts Yeah, and find out whether they are taking it into account
Starting point is 00:05:26 And if they aren't maybe update their time adjust it especially for I mean not at all on a brag But you know we're no slubs. No exactly welcome to overload 1888 Darling harbour for reservations press one No, or just stay on the line and we'll be with you shortly. Yeah, I'm gonna consider any happy day We had more of a con be with you shortly. Yeah, we've got a concert. Have a sunny, happy day. Thank you. We've got more of a concert's correction here. Yeah. Hello, every reception. Can I pop you on a quick hold? Uh, yeah. Take your time.
Starting point is 00:05:54 Yep. Thank you. Sorry about this, everyone. You're doing great. How about you down my little podcast form? And you think? Where's the Tokyo? No. Even with your commentary on the whole music, Now what you downloaded a podcast for? You think? Where's the take-you? No, but...
Starting point is 00:06:05 Even with your commentary on the whole music, I feel people would begin to be sensing, come on guys, I've given you my time, I've trusted you to provide me with a podcast. Yes. I could have called the over, the low, and gone on hold. Yeah, that's true. All right, well, it's a sit-pastly. She did take a quick hold. But then I said, take it home. Yeah-pastually. She did say a quick hold. Ah, but then I said take it home.
Starting point is 00:06:25 Yeah, you should have clarified that. You know, well, what do we make this deal? When we put the podcast up, we never really added anything, but we will edit that however long the hold is, and people will be able to tell by whether a ton of birds of Tokyo song is. Oh, or would they have liked to hear the drum? Because that's the best bit of the song. That was a nice drum.
Starting point is 00:06:52 Well, start up now. International listeners wouldn't know the band. No, the band. No, the band. But drum's the best bit of the song. You actually let's leave the drum in because people would go, they cut it off before the drum. Yeah. And here we go back into the chorus now we could we can cut this bit out yeah that's this is fella all
Starting point is 00:07:13 you heard it before this isn't sure this is the chorus no but I'm just saying if you never heard the song before yeah you could piece it together from what you've heard so far. Because really, what is a chorus except an internal encore? Of the song. Because it's not new news. There's very, really new... A chorus is just a mid-song encore of the earlier part of the song. That's true.
Starting point is 00:07:42 Except... Hey, thank you so much for calling. How can I help? How can I? It's a Hamish Nandy here Okay, thank you so much for calling. How can I help? It's a Hamish Nanny here. How are you? Oh, hello. How are you? Who are we speaking to? Tilly. I checked you in. Yeah, great. Oh, it's really great.
Starting point is 00:07:54 Tilly, we had a great time. We had a great time. First of all. It is ringing you for our podcast. Just want to let you know that you're on the podcast, okay? Amazing. Hello, everyone. Tilly. Remember when we asked you... First of all, thank you for my room, Tilly.
Starting point is 00:08:05 That is absolutely fine. I love that question. I love that question. No special treatment then. It does not go unappreciated. It does not go unappreciated. This isn't the main question, sub question. Of course.
Starting point is 00:08:14 Did you would have known that you'd given Hamish a better room, like a split level room with a couch? Well, they told me they were both upgrades. They didn't tell me the extent of the upgrade. I think they said so in like this upgrade upgrade based on how much we prefer you. Yeah, they thought Haymesh was better to begin with. So I've seen my two out of snow that confirmed. Probably at my book.
Starting point is 00:08:33 Thank you. Tee, when we went to, I go for a walk to the casino. Of course. And we asked you how long it would take, how long did you think it would take? Usually around like 10 minutes maybe. I think we remember you giving us that statistic and we were wondering is that the normal time that you give to people? It should be yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:52 Did you look at our like physical appearance and like assess our fitness and adjust the time at all? Do you just give out a straight 10 to everybody? We usually like if they look like they're kind of mobility if they're kind of a bit old. I like to see it a little bit more. Super old person. So you do adjust some mobility for old people, but you wouldn't look at you saying,
Starting point is 00:09:10 bolt and go, oh, listen, you can get there in two minutes. Yeah, you can do it as sub 30. Okay, so if I saw him coming in, I would definitely give him two minutes. We wanted to tell you, we wanted to just let you know that we're not even sure we went the quick way, but we think we did it in about six to seven minutes. Wow. Thank you And I was wearing we were both any was wearing toads. Yeah, which are a sort of a casual boat No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Yeah. So we were, yeah, and he wasn't even wearing sports shoes. Yeah, yeah, but I was to be fair. But we both had shorts on, which is I was thinking
Starting point is 00:09:53 of speed things up because you're gonna have denim to deal with. But it just helped the legs move a bit quicker. That's what we're thinking. So just letting you know, if guys about our height in casual gear, we know denim or, you can give them a six to seven minute mark. You could say, actually, we've had two guys in here about your height.
Starting point is 00:10:10 You did it in about six. You thought it's a reference. It's about ten machinati, they can make it in that time. Yeah, which other people will try and beat that time. Because I think it's a way more exciting as a customer of a hotel to hear. You're here in six minutes, you're basically staying at the casino.
Starting point is 00:10:24 Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Okay, that's all we needed to do. Apart from that flawless. Oh, great. There were ants on my donut in the room, but that's not your fault. That's not your fault. There's a one or two ants. But not your fault. Not your fault. I ate any of these donuts. It wasn't a problem. He did. Tilly. Thank you. I don't blame the ants for wanting my room. I'll do that. Oh, dear.-Tee. Tee-Tee. Tee-Tee. Thank you. I would have... I don't blame the answer warning my room. I'll take it then. Oh, dear. Also, it will get a... Intinate time guy.
Starting point is 00:10:48 I'll take it. Walter, thank you. And you seem happy, let's do this. Ha ha ha. Everything is neat and practical. Cause that's the way he likes it. But what if it wasn't? Upset Andy!
Starting point is 00:11:11 And oh god, we've got so many flooding and thank you to everyone that hits us up, hamishanney.com and lodges and upset Andy. They are stunning. We'll do our best to try and catalog them all and give people a call back. Before we begin, and oh, it's going I say thanks for lending me your laptop charger earlier. Yep. He's handing it back unrolled up. Be honest though.
Starting point is 00:11:34 Yeah, it does upset you. Yeah, absolutely. But I gave it back. And it's all there. Yeah. It's all it's fit. Yeah. Sort of what I'll get get I'll sort of out later
Starting point is 00:11:46 Will before you put it in your backpack. There is no way jack. I bet you'll crisp thousand dollar note that Andy will be rolling that up. Yeah, I'll roll that I got you a beauty and thank you for thanking me I didn't want to have to I come back in a future podcast and do a thanking order and then remember I had been thanked him Got your rip on the too, didn't I? We had scripts, so we had to be named. We were hosting an award ceremony and I had my script with my notes on. We're both at the lectern, Jack, you would love this. Two man lectern.
Starting point is 00:12:19 Two man lectern said, my script was on the left and Hamish on the right. Andy is naming things, he just does it from, I guess from this. Well, if the script gets lost or taken, I know it's Andy. So Andy writes in very neat block letters, Andy. On the top right. And then I look across and see he's written Andy at the top. Got him. And I'm in his head.
Starting point is 00:12:41 I'm going to do that. Got him. Anyway, we then were backstage. And the lady that had to help us, just like, I'll take your, because I had to be preset the scripts, I'll take them out, and then... We had made different notes on each of them though, and they were for awards, so there's a lot of reading,
Starting point is 00:12:59 like, who's one, what categories are? So yeah, did back for a bit, because I had to go look, this is Andy's, mine's also label Andy, but Andy the other Andy this one goes on the right hand side and that Andy goes on the left hand side. Yeah they're having right left and right on the but we got the mate we got there it was fast and worse it didn't matter at the end yeah no one needed to get too upset about it um but we do have so many coming in now. So I love them, I adore this segment.
Starting point is 00:13:29 Daniel, suggesting that people just, I feel I've been writing in and I, and I assume our produces all line up and call back as many as we can get through. But we're overloaded, so apologies if we don't get to, I read them, I love them. Daniel, you got an upset Andy back? I do, I do. You know how on forms, usually you've got to put your data
Starting point is 00:13:48 birth as DDM, YYY, yeah. Instead of, you know, contemporary writing O2 like Andy would just put you in the first box. No worries. No, you can. No, you shouldn't. Save your pen. Yeah. That was a waste. Okay, it just. You're a bit of someone they get confused. Who thinks there's 20 months? And I might think it's the 272nd day of of no. Not necessarily. That's true actually. The 27th of February, the 22nd day of 2014. I know.
Starting point is 00:14:33 Suddenly that guy's counting. He's counting. He's trying to work out what he comes to. He comes to a Daniels, save your zeros for what you need him. Ask the loose baby. Ashley. Hey guys, how you doing? Ashley, thank you for joining us.
Starting point is 00:14:46 So, Hoi, what do you got? When I fill up petrol in my car, I never round to the dollar. If I get bored at $43.63, I'll just stop. Yeah, just stop with your boards. Every time. Yeah, every time. You don't fill it up. You don't fill up a full tank.
Starting point is 00:15:03 Who's got a job for that? Well, you're going to have fill up a full tank. Who's got time for that? Well, you're going to have to do it at some point. That's too loud. No, but if you do it later, you're actually spending more time. You'd be right. No, it's the same time. No, it's not because if you, if you, if you, if you, No, if you move, no, if you move, no, if you're not,
Starting point is 00:15:17 If you're not filling up. I'm filling it into the reward. Yeah, you are. Actually, if you, if you, if you, Yeah, that's it. You don't have a day. Just that'll do. You'll get you down the road. If you're not filling up your tank, you have to fill it up more often. Oh, do you with that one? That's a lot of fun. Yeah, do you it. You don't have a day. Just that'll do you get you down the road if you're not filling up your tank You have to fill it up more often. Oh do with that. Yeah, do with it when we come to it. I love I love not feeling it because you know what I'm done with this. Yeah, I'm finished. It's all like Jack with his house
Starting point is 00:15:36 You know what? Don't ever certificate. He cares Daniel I always hold on to the Daniel, how are you mate? Call me, Dan, it's time to short for our full name. Yeah, we got stuff to do, don't we Dan? Yes, Dan. It's a bit always busy. I'm a little bit of a time saver and hockey. I'm at home on the toilet. Yep.
Starting point is 00:15:57 I don't bother wiping, just jump straight in the shower. Yeah. You and it does, Dan. Yeah, full body. That's true, the French. That's it. They're French. I don't know. French sure it. Yeah, full body. Yeah, full body. That's true, the French. That's it.
Starting point is 00:16:06 They're French. French sure it's our mini showers anyway. Yeah. Our showers. Perfect, perfect for Andy. You know, you got extra time. Yeah. You have his hope before you take off to golf.
Starting point is 00:16:14 It seems him. Okay, don't smoke, but thank you Dad. Yeah, Tim's just a go. Tim, that's right. Just get one mouth sticking before you hit the golf sticks. Thank you Daniel. I'm real, he's gonna do that, Dan. You're gonna do that, right?
Starting point is 00:16:33 He's gonna wash his ass off in the shower and buy himself self-dumbed for one of his Indonesian clothes cigarettes. He's trying to use to get off the winny reds. Demetri is not working. Demetri, you there? Yes, I'm home. Oh, home. is not working. Demetri, do you have air? Yes, hi boys. Hi mate. Hi, Demetri.
Starting point is 00:16:47 What do you got to upset Andy? Well, look, I mean, every time I get a new phone, instead of wasting time and uploading all my contacts in my old phone to my new one, I just put up a facial pose. So hey, guys, send me your text, send me a text that could be the numbers in your name. So I know who you are. But surely you're in the client.
Starting point is 00:17:03 And I'm going to send it. And I never who you are. But surely you're in the club. And Tim. And Tim's on the other side. And I never say that, no, this is a later than a club. Yeah. It's just a time to go all the way up to the club, back down to the club, up to the club. Oh, where's my stuff? What's up in the club? Now, I would say setting out the club is shorter
Starting point is 00:17:17 than riding out the Facebook post. Tim, sorry, no. No, no, no, no. It says like Amy's got 500 hours in the day. Who's got time? Who's got the time? I don't know, I don't know 500 hours in a day. Sorry, mate. Do me just have 500 hours in the day. Who's got time? Who's got the time? I don't know, I don't know 500 hours in the day. Sorry mate, Demetri's got 500 hours in the day.
Starting point is 00:17:28 None of us do. No one, none of us do time to set up the cloud, OK? We're fast enough. So, Demetri, so you basically say on social media, I've got a new phone number here it is. Send me a text. Yeah, and basically, yeah, and basically what I do, I try to remember, because it's three years ago now.
Starting point is 00:17:42 I remember last time I was like that person, and I go that day, and I scrolled down my phone to find the date and I checked the text message so I can refresh my memory on what exactly we spoke about. On the text message. You call them from the message. And would you suggest him that that that time saved earlier on? Perhaps getting it up a little bit with the searching for the text in general. What? Getting you down a little bit with the searching for the tings of the dragon. You do have to look in. Yeah, you look in at her with your password. Yeah, exactly. Oh, re into your password. Oh, great. Oh, forgot it. Now look in your emails. No time. That's it. It's all
Starting point is 00:18:13 there. It's all there. Last one. Adrian, a hoi to you, Adrian. Hello, boys. How you about the Andy? Nope. Thank you, Adrian, for easing load. May, what have you got that upset Sandy? So you know I'm like Hamish I like to be with a gear man. I like to get my professional dumbbells. Yeah that's what we do have time for that. Yeah all the most highly high stuff. Yeah from Germany if need be. So I kind of underestimated how expensive it'd be to get individual weights. So I got two 5 kilo weights and put them on either side of the dumbbell, whereas I got like a 10 kilo weight and just put on the other one and fast and loose, you know, you
Starting point is 00:18:57 can't have them all even leads. Oh, so you got a 10 on one side and two fives on the other. Yeah, I would have that. Yep, yep, yep. Same way, Andy. I know. would have that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Same way, Nando. I know. Fast and low. Fast and low.
Starting point is 00:19:08 Fast and low. Fast and low. Fast and low. Fast and low. Fast and low. Fast and low. Fast and low. Fast and low.
Starting point is 00:19:16 Fast and low. Fast and low. Fast and low. Fast and low. Fast and low. Fast and low. Fast and low. Fast and low.
Starting point is 00:19:24 Fast and low. Fast and low. Fast and low. Fast and low. Fast and low. Fast and low. And a young man's stats, his player card came into my side of the fence, valued an important podcaster, and Jesus just jumped off the page. So many attributes this young man Deakin has listed for himself. Almost too many to handle for white shows. He really ran out of internet. Yeah, as he was typing them all in. Just the last few bites of data somewhere, wherever it is in a desert, somewhere in Utah.
Starting point is 00:19:47 The last bit of the internet was filled up with his form. He's got a lot of stuff. He's got an incredible seal. It takes him a long time to break the seal if he's having a big night drinking. We're not texting. Well, we've tested that on ourselves. So we've already kind of done that experiment.
Starting point is 00:20:03 Rickens, he's never fail in eating challenge. Oh yeah. And his whole life, which he takes to easily find one. Which he believes he can't fail one. I feel like we've done a lot of eating challenges. Yeah. And the interesting fact about him, so he says he's an avid Melbourne storm fan. Yet he's never been to Melbourne.
Starting point is 00:20:20 Okay, so he's getting our interest a little bit. But we've got him up for something else. Deakin, are you there, mate? Oh, Hoi. Oh, Hoi Chums. Oh, Hoi mate. What is it? How much is it? How much is it, Andy? No need. Thank you, Deakin, for lighting the load of the people. Deakin, I was fascinated by the following climb.
Starting point is 00:20:40 If I am dropped in any street in Brisbane, I can very quickly know which way is the quickest way home and where I am. I find this incredible, Deakin. Do you mean without your phone? Yeah, so that's based on, obviously, about 10 years ago when I was a much younger lad. I would sort of go out and then sometimes while myself in various spots in and around Brisbane, be it northside, southside or whatever. And this is back before GPS's were sort of commonplace on phone. Military only, military only. And you would just look up and go, I know exactly where I am. Pretty much that, yeah. So the one sort of example that sticks out most in my mind was I was out with a friend one night and we had to call a cabin cab in Brisbane
Starting point is 00:21:27 and not like they are in New York or London. So we had I had to direct the guy home and that's pretty much, you know, so you directed the guy home from an unknown area? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no If we blindfolded you and just dropped you in a street in Brisbane, could you look up and go? I know where I am. Oh, yep, absolutely. No! We're not... We're also... We're going up. We're going up.
Starting point is 00:21:55 We're going up. We're going up. We're going up. We're going up. We're going up. We're going up. We're going up. We're going up.
Starting point is 00:22:03 We're going up. We're going up. We're going up. We're going up. We're going up. We're going up. Absolutely. So if we drop you off into the inner suburb, you know, pick any suburb, Victoria Point, right? And then it's only about 20 minutes from my house, so you're... Okay, but you know that suburb then, okay? I think the visual excitement we're looking here for, and really be honest with us here Deakin, like we open, we'll be in the standard white kidnapping van with the sliding door inside. Yes, we open the sliding door, check out pull the bag off your head. And in that moment,
Starting point is 00:22:30 you look around and you go right Victoria Point, I know exactly where I am. I mean, if there's some kind of landmarked a little, make it easier, I really, I really try to get gauged here because we are oscillating back and forth between extreme confidence but then also something anyone could do which is, well if you put me, um, for, for, we live in Melbourne, like if you put me next to the Melbourne eye, the ferris were on the London Docklands. If you put me in the Sydney Harbour bridge, I'd know I'm halfway between North and South Sydney. So, Deakin, I don't think that you can, if you've dropped anywhere.
Starting point is 00:23:07 I suppose that we're looking for here as a higher than average skill of being, I don't know exactly where you are in Brisbane. As it read off the page, like, do you think it's worthy of investigating this or is it about the same level of skill a young man that's lived in Brisbane his whole life would have. I think it would be far better than average, considering my background. Would you be better than a taxi driver? I'll never. Oh, yes, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:23:33 So what are you thinking, Anna? We get a cab driver as well and we blindfold him. And we play him off against each other. I'm not going to Brisbane to see if he's going to buy this. I know, I would have loved to, and I hope it doesn't feel like I'm pooping, but Deakin's showing nothing to make. He would be better than anyone else. And then when he's going to say, based on this, two AFS, a calm, the logistics, the recording,
Starting point is 00:24:01 we're needing to see the committee needs to see more at this stage. I would have loved to, but all he said is he was drunk one night until the cab driver had a get-o. That was great. But I imagine you would have told him go to the suburb that you live in and you would have known the suburb. No, not a hope in 80s. I don't have to get from Hamilton to where I was living in Brown's Bains,
Starting point is 00:24:26 and that was a good 45 minute drive. But surely you would go, it's near the airport or wherever, like surely it wasn't like every single, every stick that left here on Thompson for 400 meters, right on Abercrombie Avenue, 650 meters, second exit of the route, so you know, as you were getting warmer and warmer, I mean, you would have used freeways in popular cross-town roads.
Starting point is 00:24:51 I may or may not have said go that way, and then just go south for about 30 minutes. But again, it was worth exploring. I am forced to pass the following judgment. I view you and I deem you to be a fascinating young man, an asset to the country, but I had not signed off on the trip to Brisbane based on what we've been presented. And would you respect that, don't you, Deacon? No, absolutely. Yeah, thanks, mate. But re-enter for something else. Thank you. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:25:23 Thank you. Congratulations on the superior pain of the... Thank you very much. Thank you. Thank you. Why do you favor it, side off? Ando, it's time for this. Oh, he's quick, he's quick. He's too quick for the old Blakey.
Starting point is 00:25:48 He rested his fingers the entire weekend and laid up. Well, Jack, I mean, you're pretty close now to turning into flawless show. You only really have to do one thing a week. Half an hour of cruising for you. Our mics went onto the top. He's got that, a turn effect. Press that.
Starting point is 00:26:02 And then hopefully our mics go off. He's done it. You can pretty close to it. To the RARE A hopefully our mics go off. He's done it. You can pretty close to it. To the Rere A+. A&O, power moves of course. It's the mission of this show to collate and document. Finally, someone in the world's got to do it. Every power move available to mankind.
Starting point is 00:26:15 A coffee table book will be ready by the end of the year. How's this amazing suggestion came in from a alert and attentive and very intelligent podcast, Andrew King, because, hey, just serve food for thought for the coffee table book, the power moves, coffee table book, which we think will roughly have about a hundo in them, about a hundred power moves and one kilowatt of power.
Starting point is 00:26:34 We should do a power rating on the front. Yes. He goes, hey, could this be, I mean, this is loosely based, he does do a little nod here to a Kramer's coffee table book in Seinfeld, which is a coffee table book about coffee tables for those that turn, not from the other episodes. Roughly your reckon season six. He goes, could you make it heavily weighted so that when someone goes to pick it up, you go, I was aware it was a book too heavy for you. So the book is a power move in itself. I reckon we do a lead insert in the
Starting point is 00:27:03 cover. So the book is a power move in itself. Oh reckon we do a lead insert in the cover. So the book is a power move in itself. Oh, it looks like it's got a spine and the other end, the open end, but it opens the other way. Oh, I can't get it. So it's a trick, book's a trick. It throws you off so the book's in control. If you before, you get it.
Starting point is 00:27:19 Get a chance to do it. Yeah, I mean, I don't mind the heavy cover. It might not be ready for this year. It's the top and the hard to sleep as the flat piece of lead in. Like the same plates, the same plate, they'll put it in bulletproof. It doesn't have to be lead.
Starting point is 00:27:32 We don't have to get the head, you know, okay, shipping is for a white, right? Coffee, no, it feels like your company's doing it. How do they send out bum, dump, dump, dump bills and bum bags? Well, that is full of white stuff. Oh, yeah, you pay a premium for it. Yeah, right, well, we'll talk to those guys. We don't know.
Starting point is 00:27:49 We'll list it as bought equipment. The customer pays a premium for it. That's my point. The boy, I think people would appreciate paying for the joke. The boy. Hey, do you know what, come back quick? Can I quickly just, why I remember this very fast? Sonny did a power move to me.
Starting point is 00:28:01 All right. My own son invented a power move. That's going to be the most proudest moment you've had. Almost cried. He goes the other day goes, where did trees come from? And we were walking alongside move to me. All right. My own son invented a power move. That's gonna be the most proudest moment you've had. Almost cried. He goes the other day goes, where did trees come from? And we were walking alongside time to kill. Went through the whole thing, seed, plant, photosynthesis, different seeds, different plants,
Starting point is 00:28:13 you know, sunlight, water. Did the whole spiel of where how trees grow from seeds, then he just looked at me and goes, it's all good. Ah! Ah! Ah! I told you!
Starting point is 00:28:24 I told you! I'm like, I'm like, she fits me pretty good. I mean, I'm like a 10 minute ramble. That's really cool. It's all due. I came from Sam Garling, a hoiter, Sam, Powmove. Walk into a cafe that you're entering for the very first time. Okay. Greet the person behind the counter in a friendly manner. Then say I'll have the usual. Grab a newspaper and point to a table to greet your new sitting
Starting point is 00:28:52 and go and sit over there. That creates a lot of confusion. That is a pretty, I mean, that's not a bad power move, but what happens if they go, I don't know who you are? Yeah, well, that's true. I mean, to do that, isn't there, there's like a loophole there that they can reverse power move you? Yeah, I mean, I suppose you would be,
Starting point is 00:29:09 yeah, maybe we're stricking this one. I mean, I love the, the cr... I love the, I love the balls. I'm just going over usual, but if I was the barista, and I, because baristas, they know their customers, right? So I was like, I think this guy's power moving me with the usual. I'm gonna, you leave it open for the boricidal reverse power move,
Starting point is 00:29:27 you to come over with a double soy chai weak latte. And plop it down. Okay, there you go. Enjoy that. Because then someone's going to have to flinch at that moment to go, this isn't my usual. It's, it's, it's stricken from the record. It's the first time we've ever had it. And you didn't play the sound effect.
Starting point is 00:29:44 Or did you? No, no, no, no, no, no, it was holding off. Sam, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that it. And you didn't play the sound effect, or did you? No, I'm purpose, no. No, he was holding off. Sam, that's good. That's good. He's a good one, but that's how ruthless we're being with the book. He's can't get any in the book. I mean, I might have one stricken off here too,
Starting point is 00:29:54 because I'm not sure if we've had the one I'm about to do. OK. Comes in from Claire, a hoi Claire. He said, look, works best at schools or workplaces. That's fine. They're very popular. That's fine, they're very popular. That's why I'd open. Cinema Year 12 locker room,
Starting point is 00:30:08 a small group of us can spy it and got together and put an out of order sign on one of the cubicle doors. It reduces the amount of use in that cubicle, so it stays nice and clean for the toilet. Everyone thinks it's not working, that's our own private cubicle. That's good. That's really good.
Starting point is 00:30:24 We should do that here. We should do that here. We should do that here. No one questions an A4 printed out out of order. No one questions it. I'm going to start questioning everyone I see. I'm going to go into the toilet, flush it, test it, as the lugs. Not bad. Hame from Ellie.
Starting point is 00:30:41 Power move, definitely in the arsehole category. She said proper arsehole. Yeah, right. Well, that's a burgeoning category. Hitchhiker on the side of the road. Question mark. Already. Pick him up and take a U-turn immediately. It's in the category of arsehole if if you can be bothered throwing your day out. Some of the power moves that I love, are people going, I immediately have to change what I'm doing now. But I'll do it to gain an upper hand.
Starting point is 00:31:16 I'll be late for work, but I'll still get a bit of power. And I think the important thing of this one is to go, no, sorry, I was always going to do a use right there. I like to come down here to do a user. Right there. I like to come down here and do a user. I didn't just do it to upset you. Sorry that misconduct. You're coming with me as I go about my day doing my errands.
Starting point is 00:31:34 That's what you're doing. Ando, this comes in from Rico. This is a cracker. And Rico said, look, I wish I'd done this myself, but I only know because someone used it on me. I appreciate that. Sometimes, this is how you learn. This is the game. We don't we don't all have all the power moves when we're born. We pick them up along the journey. That's true. That's what the books for. Ask someone you don't know very well, but still see very often, for example, an office colleague.
Starting point is 00:31:59 Okay. Ask them what they're like for Christmas. Now that they're thinking you're getting them something, and they'll feel they have to get you something as well. The next time you see them, act surprised that they got you something and don't mention the earlier interaction. The Fagafagrubis. Hey, we offer a service to all podcasters, which is to rattle their rivals.
Starting point is 00:32:26 It's a valuable service, Hando. If you've got an important match coming up, whether it's just like a social sporting match, even at club level, we'll go there. Leon reached out. He knew where to go. Hamishane.com and joins us now. Leon, how are you? Good.
Starting point is 00:32:41 Thanks, a high boy. Hi, Leon. Now, if people haven't heard of your rivals before, this is the service you have asked us to help you with. Obviously, with a big sporting event or a competition coming up, physically, costing your rivals pre-event, that's bad sportsmanship.
Starting point is 00:32:57 You can't go over and just steal everyone's shoes. Well, Tonya Harding, perfect. Tonya Harding, we know what to do with Harding. It's not, it's a bit of an unwritten rule in sports you shouldn't break your opponent's knees exactly before the game but psychological warfare fine certainly cool yep I encourage and encourage certainly available to end or end or end or psychological warfare and that's what you want us to do today leon what's what's happened and what's the game coming up so one of my best mates arm Omar, he beats me at every single sport always,
Starting point is 00:33:27 always, always, any sport, anytime, anywhere. So, certainly sounds like always. In his always, so he beat me recently, we're playing lawn bowls and I was starting to win, it was actually couple of a couple and we were winning and then they came home and just destroyed us. Omar and his girlfriend? Yep, Omar and his girlfriend. What's his girlfriend now? Isabelle.
Starting point is 00:33:53 Isabelle. Right. What's Omar's surname? Booker Room. Booker Room. No one I'm sure would have ever. Not a booking service. No, whatever made for.
Starting point is 00:34:04 Booker Room. Okay, so you understand, send your email that you've got another lawn balls match coming up. Yes, for my birthday my 30th come out this year. I'll be rematching. Yeah, so ahead of that you'd love to rattle him. I need to rattle him. I am trying to finally win. Right, we like this. We certainly can have it take this case on.
Starting point is 00:34:24 Now often it's a sports team that when the rattle happens traditionally it's been either Andy or I who was doing the rattling will yell at the end of the call once we've lulled the victim into a false sense of security. Similarly to the M.A.P.O.P.O. of nothing will just yell something like, you know, the South West Garth Eagle suck and that will really upset them because it seems out of nowhere. But what do we say here? Would it try go with Omar and Isabelle suck at lawn bowls. That's pretty direct. That's the dream.
Starting point is 00:34:52 That'll be the last thing to do. Okay, you gave us the heads up that he loves the Hawthorne football club in the AFL. He loves the Hawks. Right. And you reckon he's renewed his membership this year? Oh, surely he's renewed it. He always renews it. Okay, well, talk about it.
Starting point is 00:35:06 You scarf and all that for the staff. Andy was thinking, tell us if this works. Then Andy, I will call Emma and pretend to be from the Hawthorne Football Club from the membership department, and I guess, lavishing him with rewards. Yes. I'll put together a matchday experience package that he can't refuse. And then right at the end, we'll let him know I'll put together a matchday experience package that he can't refuse.
Starting point is 00:35:25 And then right at the end, we'll let him know that he and his a bill, a socket loan balls. That's when you'll come in. You'll be there's when you'll come in and you can laugh and really cement the psychological deal of manage Leon. All right, good luck to everybody and accept Oma And may Oma Unbanese him enjoy his last few minutes on earth unrattle Hello, hi is that the Oma book a room?
Starting point is 00:35:59 Who's speaking? Oh, sorry. I hope it pronounced it correctly. It's David Matric from membership at the Hawthorne Football Club I'm sorry, I hope it pronounced that correctly. It's David Matric from membership at the Hawthorne Football Club. David, how are you? I'm good mate, Omar. Just keen to get on to you because you've just recently renewed for the 2019 season. You and my brother actually handles both about to be honest. I'm not too sure exactly what's recently happened, but I think you've renewed it, yeah. Well, it's unlucky for you, brother, then. Considering he's handling the membership, because we're just doing a thank you back for our members, particularly ones that have been with the club for a long time. And you've won the random prize,
Starting point is 00:36:32 which is a match day experience. Oh, that's awesome. What is it? Did you watch the game on the weekend? I actually taped it, or we recorded it, I haven't seen it yet, because I was out yesterday, so I'm going to be watching it later on tonight. This is excellent news.
Starting point is 00:36:45 So the match day experience would be for round four. The round four match against St. Kilda at Marvel, which I think would stand a great chance at, on April 14. Are you, Drick, can you be available that Sunday? Um, yeah, definitely. Great. So what it involves is a room's visit before the match for for yourself and you get to sit in on the coach's briefing. Oh, well, amazing. Obviously no phones in that briefing, but you'll
Starting point is 00:37:12 get to know what all the lads are up to and then say them all up. You'll be able to run out with the players after that. That's some people choose to do that and some people want to avoid it, but that's up to you. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, it's exactly. And then we've got a box for you and 10 friends, which is all catered for. So I think you'd rather probably can come back to that one, I imagine. Yeah, no, definitely. I was just going to actually ask about him, but yeah, definitely he'll be able to
Starting point is 00:37:40 go to that door. So he can enjoy that. And then after that, and hopefully after a victory, back down to the rooms, and you can pick out any jersey you want. And you can sign that for your, we'll get that signed by the player. Your favorite player, do you have a favorite player? Yeah, I've got a technically a couple I'm talking about, but I'll probably have a favorite player by that day, to be honest.
Starting point is 00:38:00 Yeah, yeah, that's a no problem. You can decide, you can decide the day. It's from a done signing Miraculous, of course, you could go for that's a no problem. You can decide you can decide the day. It's from a done saying miraculous of course you could go for that particular jersey Awesome. Well, I've got your details and obviously you can pass on to your brother the only thing I need to add at the end Omar is that you and Isabelle suck at lawn bowls You're here with this It's Hamish and Andy here mate Oh no
Starting point is 00:38:24 You've been rattled. And Leon's here as well. Oh hey, you're a freak. I'm going to blind you that one down. I'm telling you, why are you that experienced? I um so it's probably sinking in P.O. Ma. That's not going to be happening. You don't going to be happening. You don't have to now decide if you run out with the kids on the field. I was thinking it looks silly, but I thought you know, it's the ones in the left on the field. Run out first through the banner.
Starting point is 00:38:57 Oh my, heading into the next lawn bowls match. Are you sufficiently rattled? You know what, I'd love for you guys to come to the lawn bowls as well. Absolutely, we'll be there, you get game day experience. We'll run out with you guys, and of course you get to pick which one of our white leather sneakers you get after the game. We'll be able to sign up. Are you rattled now though? Like now you be questioning everything. I'm questioning Leon.
Starting point is 00:39:28 I'm questioning you guys. I'm questioning yet, but why? Chrisley why? Yeah, well Leon, are you happy to hear that? Yes, I'm glad he's questioning things. No, this is what you do. This has been an extremely long-winded way to get a young man to question things and work here has done.
Starting point is 00:39:47 I need a ticket. I need a ticket down there. You can't have a beauty ever. Oh wait, I feel a bit scared. You got this in the back. I can't wait. I can't wait or smash it. Good luck guys.
Starting point is 00:40:00 Well done over. Good man. Bye guys. Well done, over. Good man. See you. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:06 Yeah. Fellas, you got a proposition for the podcast. Just to finish this out. Just to finish this out. Right. If we have time, I would be interested to see if we'd be interested in branching into a service the podcast hasn't performed yet.
Starting point is 00:40:22 I think we could be a nice hub to collate this information. It all started when a young man and a listener of the show emailed, Chris Percy, was his name, recently on holidays in Fiji. Oh, good. And I'm not sure exactly which island he was on. He did mention it, I've just forgotten briefly with the email, but he climbed over the, he went for a little hike on one of the remote islands.
Starting point is 00:40:47 Crested a hill, looks down and knowing I'm a fan of American survivor, the US survivor, he looks down and he goes, oh, they're filming survivor down there. They're building the challenges and there were people around on the islands who's coming to a valley and he's looking down at the beach. And he said, now, I know you're a fan of survivor. As I wanted to get some shots for you, they told me there's a lot of signs up specifically prohibiting drones. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:15 He had a drone on him because he's a modern traveler. He flew the drone up anyway, he snaps some shots of the challenge area. Amazing. From your survivor. Seeing those shots, he said, look, I think that rule of no drones, they can't enforce it. And he said, I just thought you'd want to see what was going on.
Starting point is 00:41:33 Yep. I felt, OK. I can't deny that I enjoy the power we had looking at this aerial surveillance. I know starting your own spy agency or starting your own surveillance agency is a big step, especially for a podcast, that till this level would never indulge in spying before. At this point in time hasn't been one of our core values. No, spying's never really been one of our core values. So they're uncovering the truth has been? Yeah, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:42:00 In various forms. I think it's fair to say what I'd be right and saying guys we have a keen interest in knowing what's going on out there. Yeah. Oh, we like a spy as well. We like, it certainly gets the heart pumping a little bit. Having said that, we obviously can't go right. We want all your drone footage. We want to know what's going on everywhere.
Starting point is 00:42:18 Yeah. Because we don't want people going, oh, here's my neighbour, you know, sunbaking. So I guess this is kind of like what the CIA faced when they started. What are we into? What are we not into? Where do we draw our lines? What's cool? What's not?
Starting point is 00:42:33 I think somewhere in the region of we would be interested to see footage or stills. Of from drones, from our drone agency, if it's sort of in the public interest, and it's big companies or corporations doing things. And it's, I'd say PG, PG, and it doesn't violate anyone's personal privacy. So we're not, we're not in a like-rewarding anyone's personal life, but I think something like, well, this is CBS, it's survivor. We've got to write to see that challenge area built, don't we? Oh, yeah, absolutely.
Starting point is 00:43:09 Do we, as the people should have a ride to see that being built, I think we do. What does it look like? Yeah, much what you would expect. And on the show, they actually do have drone shots. I mean, they can see it's in a patch of, it's exactly what, if you've seen the show, you're a patch of jungle near the ocean.
Starting point is 00:43:26 It's a clearing and there's, I've built some kind of tar. Ramp, puzzles, obstacle course, times three. Next to each other with different colors. So very much what you would expect. But nice to know we know. Well, last time it's not put in graphically, in post. I would, it's from an angle they wouldn't approve of. So that's a nice little bonus. Yeah have for us
Starting point is 00:43:45 So maybe for example, there might be like oh, there's a building site nearby and they've got a lot of screens up Yeah, you know why yeah, would it yeah, yeah, great and then someone's goes well We flew a drone over to have a little look at how deep the hole is. Yes, I would like to see that yeah Great, right, but you just sit in seeing that as a bit of aerial footage. I like that. I like that You this that kind of thing you'd be interested in seeing Jack? Yeah, but what do we do with it once we see it? We process it. We're in the intelligence gathering agency.
Starting point is 00:44:09 Do we put it on social, like the English and Andy pages on that? You don't go to the CIA's Instagram and have a look at all the shots they get. Yeah. So you just process it. So now you know a little bit more. So we're in South people to send it in and we'd look at it. We're in intelligence gathering at this stage. And again, just maybe the easiest way for you to think
Starting point is 00:44:26 this is where the CIA jack. So you can't call up the CIA and go, A, what photos have you got? B, what are you doing with them? When can we have a look at them? They're all being processed. They tell you the same thing every time you call them. We're processing it and it's kind of for us to know
Starting point is 00:44:40 and for you to find out. And so we will be. But having said that, Jack, we will. We might describe to people what we've seen. Sure. I like, maybe we just keep in people abreast of what's going on out there. Yeah, going from footage. Or maybe when they become unclassified and then everybody can see.
Starting point is 00:44:52 That's a fun idea. That's a really great idea. We could classify every bit of footage or photo that comes in for a set amount of weeks. Yeah. And then later on, sort of six months later, like in September. Yeah, that's true. Yeah, we go, you know what? we're declassifying the survivor shots.
Starting point is 00:45:07 You remember that? That's completely forgot about that, we've moved on, that'll be a fun feeling for everyone. Okay, great. Drag them back to an earlier app. Yeah, that's exciting. All right. Great.
Starting point is 00:45:22 Well, let's see how that goes. So I guess it's ping him in, what you've got to follow the rules, like any of the RPG, kind of leading on personal privacy, Yeah, that's exciting. All right. Right. I will let's see how that goes. So I guess it's pinging them in. You've got to follow the rules, like having the PG, kind of having someone's personal privacy, could it sort of be in the public interest? Yep. We know sometimes, I mean. Maybe interesting to know at the end of a night, you know, if there's like a bus company
Starting point is 00:45:37 and they put all the, bring all the buses back to a certain spot. Oh yeah, how do they park them? Yeah, and how many have they got? Yes. They don't want you to know that. But we would like to process that intelligence. Yeah, they knows to knows or they're backing them in. I don't know. But we will know.
Starting point is 00:45:55 And then we will de-classify it later. Good. Thanks for listening. The Hamish Nandy podcast will return next week. Catch up or contribute at hamishanandie.com.
