Starting point is 00:00:00 A list-naf production. Activate your internet. Cause the hay mission and the podcast starts in 3, 2, sorry, still buffering. 1. One! Hi everyone listening or what are you hearing? I'm hearing my boy. I'm hearing my boy. Oh my boy Jack. Oh my boy.
Starting point is 00:00:33 Hi my boy. He feels very nice doesn't it? Feels like I've invited you back to the family island and I'm wearing a woolly jumper and then you're on a tugboat. But you wasn't sure you'd make it for the family reunion. You got shorts on as well, my boys. Yes, I was. Yes, I was.
Starting point is 00:00:49 Yes, I was. Yes, I was. I care about keeping my chile zone warm, but I don't mind if my legs were exposed to the elements. I know my boys. I know I eat the Kirin as well. I know my boys and Jack. My boys.
Starting point is 00:01:01 Just a quick call from Melbourne. I'm returning to uni next week after a three-month break. So I've had just enough time to upload this voice recording to say keep up the good work and look forward to the next episode. See ya. He would have just made it too. And he's a uni work. If you get a holiday project, what is that for? Yeah, it's that quick. Good on him. Good on him. Got a good detail today. Two uploading.
Starting point is 00:01:23 No, message? Another guy in the U.N.A life, you an ideal for the uni. No, quite a while again. It's over 10 years ago we're at uni. And do remember, it was the days we're uploading an assignment from home. That was a cutting edge. That was all the rage. And we struggled with that.
Starting point is 00:01:44 We did. We did. We did. And that was designed by the university to be hassle free and we struggled But we what we didn't struggle with is Subitling the same assignment Jack on numerous occasions only got caught once yeah They were struggling to Jack was a time of universal struggle and As we know from apocalyptic, maybe is one of the rats V cockroaches both our scrappy players one will win. Hey new segment we're launching right now hit it Jack. Yeah, that's kind of a point there that sounds right actually.
Starting point is 00:02:18 Hey mission and he's caught of appeal. Sometimes we are brought to task. People appealing against their decisions. It is a show that makes a lot of decisions along the fly, I think. But we're not, and this is the difference between doing the show as, you know, from Australia versus say North Korea. You get the idea that North Korean podcasts, nothing's appealed. Yeah, you can't challenge them. Government does a funny podcast. You enjoy it. And that's that. Yeah, you can't challenge. Speaking of international contributions, we'll we'll
Starting point is 00:02:52 won't we have a tail. Those following along from last episode, where I outsource some of the writing for the show. Work was cool. I've worked. High day young man called a bit of a debacle on the up front. Money was. Right. His US dollars. When the conversion went through, he's made off.
Starting point is 00:03:10 I won't reveal the full story, but he's done all right. Okay. Okay. Hey, this one is worrying. Why? From a guy called John O from the US. He says, hey, mates, you've promised me an H&A coin. I'm thinking, are we having a job?
Starting point is 00:03:24 I know. And I cross referenced because we've promised me an H&A coin. I'm thinking, we have a nice, I know, I know a cross reference because we've got everyone has their own unique number. For exactly this reason. Yep, you see in on the back of each coin, you're engraved at a much higher cost for the coin guys we got it, but I'm glad we had it. We never share it with anyone.
Starting point is 00:03:37 He says, open yourself wide open to a dendon with theft if you do. When did we bring in the coins? Right at the start. So, two and a half years ago. Yep. I think that's right. I didn't have a theft if you do. When did we bring in the coins? Right at the start. So the show. Two and a half years ago. Yeah. Think about that.
Starting point is 00:03:48 So, 2018. He says on Tuesday, September 16th, 2014. Okay, mate. Hamish promised something. He was talking about the gold-colored watch. Also a very valuable thing that has been offered previously on this show. And there was, he said a big eBay debacle with a cursed watch. That's what we're talking about. Do vaguely remember that? Yeah. And this is what... Someone was trying to sell a watch and we put, didn't we put a curse on it?
Starting point is 00:04:22 Someone was trying to sell a watch and we put it didn't we put a curse on it? We did we put it. We had someone in, so we were trying to. So we're talking about a lot, but that is one of the options you have available to you as a potential intellectual property rights holder. If you see something you made on eBay, you did not give authorized to be sold. You always have the option of cursing it. Yep, bring a witch in. Bring a witch, get a B on BYOW, but you can do it.
Starting point is 00:04:44 So obviously that rebar I have been going for a while. Yeah, go ahead and have time for the back story. But you said this on September 16th, 2014. We found out about a cursed gold colored watch. The story of how a gut cursed is a long story. We're not going to bore you with it here. If you're familiar with it, you earn five Hamish Andy coins. Thank you for your participation in the show.
Starting point is 00:05:07 That's just a generic word. So next to a few other words, I can understand. So you before we had how you got coins, you were giving out fake ones. I guess more like Disney dollars. Yeah. You know, like you and a pat in the back. Yeah, you and a bunch of Hamish and any points. Yeah. Yeah. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:05:30 If I awarded someone, if I give you a hundred Hamish and any points today, if in five years time, we make up gold daggers. Yeah. And at the end of it is the Hamish and any point. And that's like whatever you want. Yeah. You don't get a hundred of those. No. You know what I mean? That's this is just that's just that's just that's just point, and that's like whatever he wants. You don't get a hundred of those. No, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:05:45 This is just chaff. That's just chaff. That's just chaff. That's what it'd be clear. Do we or do we not, oh, Johnno, any coin? Because they didn't exist at the time. Yeah. Then no.
Starting point is 00:05:57 I think legally, that's gotta be the ruling. Yeah, I know. I know. I know. I know. I know it's good news. I make you's good news. I know it's good news. I know it's good news. I know it's good news.
Starting point is 00:06:07 I know it's good news. I know it's good news. I know it's good news. I know it's good news. I know it's good news. I know it's good news. I know it's good news. I know it's good news.
Starting point is 00:06:15 I know it's good news. I know it's good news. I know it's good news. I know it's good news. I know it's good news. I know it's good news. I know it's good news. I know it's good news.
Starting point is 00:06:23 I know it's good news. I know it's good news. I know it's good news. I know it's good news. I know it's good news. I know it's good news. Alert, listen to Hugh. Double barrel surname, Hugh Win Harris. Oh, that is. And he's a little bit fast on this. He sounds like a great guy. Um, or he Jack starts with you, Jack. That's very, I haven't seen any happy with Dei and O. Just see people know out there. Jack doesn't look at the emails as much as he used. But still put me on there.
Starting point is 00:06:37 It's nice to be on there. You're right, he doesn't does he? He doesn't look to them. Have you looked to them this year? No, well, I mean, like you said in last episode, I wish I'd been very busy with all of them busy. Oh Oh, it's still fun time to look at it, you know. I'm busy. Well, you may be with now with if Teo steps up. You'll have a bit more time now that we're getting what used to be an unstructured conversational podcast. Now we're getting it scripted.
Starting point is 00:06:59 My point is to don't feel a blight. Yeah, Jack, if you want to save characters, yeah, totally. Yeah, if you're in a net cafe, and you need to top quick to save those dollabuck. Look, he says, I'm a bit fast and loose, and I'm a sporadic podcast listener. A lot of people are we do encourage people to go back and start from the start, but some people just love dipping. He said, look, I did hear you guys encouraging people to begin at episode one. So he's gone all the way back to the beginning because I'm up to episode 25 and I think I found a huge error. There was a guy called Dom on and his special skill was guessing the beats per minute of songs. Right. He guessed alive by Pearl Jam to be 75 beats per minute
Starting point is 00:07:44 and he said it was 82, which resulted in Dom getting three out of five and thus missing out on the vital four out of five threshold to get him a coin. I have done some subpar investigating, but enough to lead me to believe it is exactly 75 beats per minute. Dom should have won the coin. Right. Ando, this is the moment from the show.
Starting point is 00:08:06 Have a little listen. Dom, alive by a pill jam. Where's it set? I think around 75. Hamish? He's low. He's low. 82, just missed it by two beats.
Starting point is 00:08:21 Why two beats? Because he had a five plus. Yeah, that's a five butter. Yeah. That's a minus five. I haven't actually listened to that grab. That's supposed to just... I suppose just read right what it's...
Starting point is 00:08:33 That's fair, that's fair. Thank you, Duff. So that was the situation. Of course, I then went, well, right, was it 75 or was it 82? Yeah. You go to songbpm.com, which is a website that does exactly
Starting point is 00:08:47 what you think it would do. That says 75. Right. Darcy though, our audio wizard. He contests. He says 82 is correct. Darcy, come on in. Wow.
Starting point is 00:08:57 This is you. So here's what we're gonna do. Jack, can you pull up alive by Pearl Jam, please? So Darcy, you're saying and welcome. Hello guys, good day. You're very welcome to the front of the scenes. You're very welcome. You're very welcome to the front of the scenes. You're very welcome. You're very welcome. You're very welcome to the front of the scenes. You're very welcome to the front of the scenes. You're very welcome to the front of the scenes. You're very welcome to the front of the scenes. You're very welcome to the front of the scenes. You're very welcome to the front of the scenes. You're very welcome to the front of the scenes. You're very welcome to the front of the scenes. You're very welcome to the scenes. You're very welcome to the front of the scenes.
Starting point is 00:09:08 You're very welcome to the scenes. You're very welcome to plug it in with you. You tap along with your finger. Yeah. I got 82. Wow. I didn't do that. All right, and that's probably the information you and he was going off. Probably. Hang on.
Starting point is 00:09:33 I've just thought of something. If Jack's going to play it out of the system here, which is the same system that the radio station uses, they speed it up. Did they speed up every song? I thought that was in the... I didn't get it off the radio system. You didn't? Okay.
Starting point is 00:09:44 I got off. I was just tapping a lot on YouTube or Spotify. Yeah. Should I just go off my phone here? Just in case. Okay, here we go. And you look at Darcy's finger and you say, if you think he's tapping well.
Starting point is 00:09:52 It's tapping very well. We're looking at giving us a live BPM readout. I can reveal to the listeners, it is 74, 75, 76. I want to contest that. What's going on? What's going on? I want to contest that. What's going on?
Starting point is 00:10:16 I tapped along later in the song, and I want to say, maybe the fact that they're a rock band. They sped up. They sped up a little bit later on. Does? Of course you can say that. Of course you can say that. Of course you can say that. It's a, it's there's five minutes of the songway.
Starting point is 00:10:29 For how much left of the song do you want to go to about a minute left? Go to the chorus. Where he's singing along. I'm just a minute and a half left. It is higher. It's faster. They've sped up, they've sped up. They've sped it, they've sped up. They've sped up, it's at 80.
Starting point is 00:10:48 It's at 80 now. Yeah, so they've just sped up the summit they've got. Which means... So they probably never played to a click back then. They wouldn't have, no, they didn't have anything. Just go on. Well, I mean, you do just go. We're in a band. If you feel it, you go for it. If it's not there, you do just go. You guys go. We're in a band.
Starting point is 00:11:05 If you feel it, you go for it. If it's not there, you slow it back. Let the audience catch up. Great contest, by the way, does. Well, I would say during the chorus, when it does get exciting, you start going faster. Yeah, I know, man. I know. You're a drummer.
Starting point is 00:11:18 As a drummer. Dom's a drummer as well. Yeah, and we, as drummers, you're mostly in charge of feeling the audience five and you can see it in their eyes. And do you play without looking at the drums? Uh, yeah, I mean. I can as well. I can.
Starting point is 00:11:32 So you're eyes are free to roam around. To see if you're feeling it. And you can tell the audience like, come on, come on, like a horse kicking down the ground. And if you really really feel it and you just close your eyes, and roll with it. Sometimes I do that as well. Sometimes I sing. Sorry, you keep your drum chat.
Starting point is 00:11:51 What you guys do, and don't, I'll give you the rest of what we do. Yeah, offline, let's assess the statements. I'm gonna say we have to overturn it. Yeah, we have to track Dom down, and just go listen. At some parts of the song, it is 75. That's cool.
Starting point is 00:12:09 He's actually caught on. Let's go to break it. Later on in the song, yeah. Sure, it gets higher. Let's go to a break here and apologize to Dom and give him a call straight after this. Find him. Okay, with low cad located his number here. You got a jacket?
Starting point is 00:12:27 Yeah. Put it in huge moment. I mean, it is a huge moment. And do we have to give him something also? I mean, give him a coin. But what else do we have? Is there a million of interest? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:37 So what is this? The person you are calling is not available. He's moved. Please leave a short message. We'll leave a message. And it would be sent as an audio message. BEEP. Dom Hamish and Andy here, too much to contain in one message. Headline, we reviewed your case.
Starting point is 00:12:54 We think we were wrong. You might have earned a coin. Hit us back. That's all we need, isn't it? Absolutely. Yeah. All right, hopefully he calls back by the end of the show, guys. If we did leave a't it? Absolutely. Yeah. All right, hopefully he calls back by the end of the show, guys.
Starting point is 00:13:06 We did leave the number. Just hear this back. He'll just sort of find a one. He'll know. If he's worth a coin, he'll find a way. I'm, I know the musician I feel the most sorry for now. And I know I've mentioned this to you. It's Tamburineine players Jack, because as people may have seen back when all the bushfire pills that the stuff were going on, it seemed like the go-to-instrument someone would go and steal from the percussionists.
Starting point is 00:13:42 Very must-uck. Yeah, like Celeste Barber when Jet was playing, immediately jumps up, grabs the tambolin and off she goes, but it just happens. It's obviously stuck with you. Well, because I said they're going, poor, the tambourine guy had a job. I know he can't do it. And now he can't do it. It's frustrating. It's a few of the, as you were surgeon,
Starting point is 00:13:57 and you're fast for the scalpel and sliss barber runs, you've been grabs together. I'm a surgeon as well, you're like, well, you know. The tricky thing is in any field, if you are doing the thing that anyone can just do, you know, you are, would carry with you this annoyance, tamping, bowling, same thing, people look at and go, I've balled a strike.
Starting point is 00:14:14 Exactly. And they try and go, well, no. It's about doing it every time and when you need to do it, because no one's looking at F1 and going, I can drive that fast. Exactly. Well, that's a very hard skill surfing, if you can to do it, because no one's looking at F1 and going, I can drop that first. It's okay, well, that's a very hard skill. Surfing, if you can't do it, I encourage you to try, but if you can't do it, you don't think
Starting point is 00:14:31 you could do it today. Exactly. But tambourine, you can. And I go to, I mean, I go to sunny school assembly. And there's like 10 kids with tambourines up on stage. Because of course, the instrument, you can pick up today and be at the elite level. Well, you and I felt sorry for these people, we feel there should be kind of some kind of hotline
Starting point is 00:14:48 that they can call. Hello, distressed tambourine players hotline, how can they help you? Yes, yes thank you, thank you for taking my call. My name is Duncan, I'm a professional tambourine player and I've had a pretty rough day. Sure, okay Duncan, well my name's Roger, I'm a trained professional, I'm here to help you. What's in your mind? Well, there's been a couple of separate incidents. Yep, okay.
Starting point is 00:15:11 I'm actually in the stairwell after one of them. I'm playing a gig for a 50th birthday party, a private gig, and my dad was playing Brown Eyed Girl. Yep, okay. Well, that's a, yeah, understand it. It's a pretty popular song for drunk 50-year-old people. Yes. I normally don't come in with a tambourine until the courses, so I had a bit of time in my hands.
Starting point is 00:15:33 I turned around and had a sip of my wine and the lady came up and grabbed my tambourine and ran off with it into the party. Right. Okay. Stole your tambourine. Did she play it? Yes, right. I couldn't stop her playing it until the end of the night. Yeah, we get a lot of these. Tambourine's obviously very appealing for people, particularly if you've had a few and you're a bit of an attention seeker, it's a lot of fun for people to steal it and play it. Did any of your
Starting point is 00:16:01 band members help you out? No, no, they actually seem to be encouraging her to keep playing it. You're right. Look, that must have been difficult. I'm sorry to hear that. Just me to the drummer. Yes, and he said, can you grab me a beer mate? As if I wasn't really vital to the band anymore now that a drunk mum of forest taken off of my instrument.
Starting point is 00:16:23 So somehow I'd been reduced to being the band's waiter. Yeah right and I assume once the drummer seek you can get me a beer mate, the bass player and the guitarist and stuff they probably look at you with a bit of a go and get us a beer as well while you're at it mate. Kind of look. That's exactly right. Yeah look that's that's tough. Have you ever spoken to any of the band members at rehearsal about this a bit of a, you know, how would you guys feel if I gave away the whole drum kit to a member of the crowd? Or, you know, you're basically... Yeah, I bought that up.
Starting point is 00:16:54 And they laughed and said that wouldn't happen because we played proper instruments. Right, okay. Yeah, and that's got to cut deep. The proper instrument is a... That's a slur that certainly, you know, loan amongst tambourine players getting that kind of insult. Yeah, yeah. Sorry, you said there was another incident.
Starting point is 00:17:13 You said number is that? Yeah. Yes, sorry, yesterday I went round to visit my brother and his wife and they have a three-year-old. I went to the bathroom and I went, I returned. They'd given my nephew my tambourine to play as if it's a toy. Yeah, well you're not alone with that one either. When will this behavior stop? Right
Starting point is 00:17:35 Look, I understand the pain you're in and obviously I sympathise and I want to help at the same time It is important that I'm that I be honest with you So the answer to when it will stop is it won't. It won't stop unfortunately. And that is not just you, that's for anyone that's chosen to play the tambourine and just the tambourine in a band as their musical instrument. And fortunately, you are sort of destined to get to, to attract this sort of ridicule. But you're not alone. Triangle players get it as well. So... Right.
Starting point is 00:18:08 Well, this is just devastating. I mean, you're studying for five years. And... Five years? So, do you say five years? Yes. Right. May I ask, Duncan, when you're studying for five years,
Starting point is 00:18:24 what did you do with the other four years and 11 months? No. May I ask Duncan, when you're studying for five years, what did you do with the other four years and 11 months? No. No. Sorry, there are intricacies to the temporary that it's sort of burying. I mean, was it a one month course that you failed 50 times? Yeah, to keep doing it two months off a year? I want to speak to your manager.
Starting point is 00:18:42 Yeah, no, she's not around. I mean, you've got to see what I'm coming from here, obviously. It's a city. It's kind of a funny instrument. I mean, monkeys play. You see monkeys playing them. You see it all the time. No, the common thing is monkeys playing symbols.
Starting point is 00:18:55 Yes, but these are tamarind is mini symbols. Isn't it a disk of mini symbols? Is it? Isn't it? It is, right? There he is, girl. Funny, another funny one. Very funny one, then. Hey, it's been a while since we've done one of these.
Starting point is 00:19:18 This sounds like this, sounds like this, sounds like this. If this sounds like that, I'm your man. Andy Lee, Song, Sluth. Sniffing out copycat ironically, copying the Suzanne song for your own now. Yep. I wrote it a bit deliberately, I wrote it. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:19:37 I hate a lot of people being sending these in. Yeah. And thank you. And people want to know, don't they? People want justice. But some of why off. But just, you know, don't they? People want justice. But somewhere I off, but just, you know, they're all being investigated. Here's the first one came off my own back.
Starting point is 00:19:51 All right. There's a song called 1-800 that we'd all know. Have a listen. I've been on a low, I've been taking my time. I feel like I'm at a my mind. I feel like my life ain't mine. Who can relate? Ooh!
Starting point is 00:20:05 Yeah. Sorry, I haven't taken it. I always participate in a call and response. So that song, then the Rubens' new one. Ooh. I'm saying what I want, try to pick a fight You cannot care that you're back and I I see cold pride This is your sniffing. Like the charge, laver charge. I don't think there is enough, but I'm giving them a vibe warning.
Starting point is 00:20:37 Okay. Vibers are giving one because the culture though. Yeah, I mean, what point who owns hip hop or the slightly electronic breakdown? I put them both together, which we do in the lab. You do. And this is the two combined. I'm a man, I'll be outside,
Starting point is 00:20:54 seeing what I want, trying to pick a fight. I cannot care, did you bat, and I? Who can relate? Ooh. I've been on a low. I've been taking my time. I feel like I'm at a mountain mind. OK, I see what you're getting at.
Starting point is 00:21:10 Yes. I'll stick up for the rubos here. Ruby Dubies. I'm a big fan, and I'm obviously quite quiet. Because you know, they're personal nicknames. I know a few of their, like, more hardcore fan nicknames. What the Ruby Dubies have done here, does it sound actually a bit like they're both singing a similar song.
Starting point is 00:21:28 Yet you can still very much see the vocal prowess and the musical ability. It kind of sounds like a benefit concept, where they're all like they've come together to do a similar vibe, but you can very much tell, oh okay, well that's, you know, that's Bono. And that's the red hot chili bit was. It's a vibe warning, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:21:45 It's a vibe warning, but I'd, I'd, if I was their lawyer, I'd, I'd open the mail from you and I'd go, I don't know about this mate. Vibes, vibe warnings come all the time because it's taste, seasonal. Taste come and go part of the culture. Don't worry mate, by the Christmas time, this will all blow over.
Starting point is 00:22:03 But it, it led to some note that I'm looking at it, though. Yeah, but I just have to look, this guy looks at everyone, I wouldn't want it. I wouldn't time, this will all blow over. It lets them know that I'm looking out of there. Yeah, but I just have to look, this guy looks at everyone. I wouldn't mind. I wouldn't mind if I had it too much, guys. This one came in from Oscar Hill. Yeah. I think it's similarly it's a vibe war. Right, again, I'm happy to represent Oscar Hill.
Starting point is 00:22:16 But, um, uh, boob play. Yeah. Haven't met you yet. We've been found astop chatting about booboy. Yeah, I understand, but we must move on. The world must move on. Did you meet him? Are you trying to get it out there that you're holding invocally so you can stay at ease.
Starting point is 00:22:47 I don't call him booby-rooby. You call that a bit of a trash-friend. I think you're trying to get a ski holiday out of Booby. I'm somethings up. I'd like that. I wouldn't say no to a ski holiday with Michael Booby. Sure. Well, take it from me.
Starting point is 00:23:02 You meet your idols. Yeah. Having to meet with James Blunt, overseas. They're not like they are on stage. I'm just gonna say, that's all I'm gonna say. Okay, so there's Boo Blaze song, and there was a famous song back in the day called Love Song by Sarah Bareilles.
Starting point is 00:23:15 Oh, isn't. I'm gonna write you a song. Yeah. Do you remember that song? Yes. Okay, he's the warning, they're not the same, are they? No, but he's the warning to Boo Blaze. Wow, the warning. They're not the same other. No, but he's the warning to Boobley.
Starting point is 00:23:27 Wow. Because Sarah. You're going to get a skill out of it right now. Because Sarah's song was two years earlier. Right. It's an intro warning. Gotcha. Have a listen to both their intros.
Starting point is 00:23:37 Right. Yep. That's just E, E, E, F, F, F, F, F, F, F, F, F, F, F, F, F, F, F, F, F, F, F, I'd say is another vibe warning. It's the same tempo and the same step. You hang around on a piano long enough, you know, things are getting double off. I know the same Michael Bubley, I will represent you, and I know this judge. I know the kind of allegations he can swear you got nothing to worry about.
Starting point is 00:24:21 To be safe, why don't we have a quick ski together in Asman? I assume you have some sort of, or in Canada, somewhere in Whistler. Well, hang out for a week. We'll go over you to fence. I think you'll be fine. May as well fly me over though. Thanks for having me.
Starting point is 00:24:33 Today is a warning shot across the bow of the Rubens and Boobs, the booby and the Ruby. Whoa. Time for The Coffee table for Coming always certainly coming down the pipe which is exciting. Yeah. We did have a break through this week They did when we guys we had a meeting a little break we had a meeting I broke through break through the book
Starting point is 00:25:02 Yes, it was like two little break. We established some breath at some broke through. Break through the book. Yes, yes. We were like two little brackets. We established some, we established some graphics that we wonder for parameters have been established. I wouldn't really call it a meeting though. You sent around a text. Yeah. E-mail online meeting. Yeah, virtual meeting. Everyone's working from home a lot more these days. We had a great breakthrough, which required a break after as you'll notice after that we haven't done much. Much, much, much. But absolutely certainly ticking off things. Stream line in the process, working hard to maintain efficiencies and increase efficiencies. I really like this one to kick things off from Ben Perinotto, him.
Starting point is 00:25:35 He says, when someone asks you to guess a number of something so they can brag, often happens with something like, guess how many goals I kicked on the weekend? Yep. Purvisly guessed way too high. Oh, yes. Oh, yes. Yeah, that's a standard, great one. 200.
Starting point is 00:25:52 Two of them. Oh, six. Oh, it's well below two. Wow, eight. Three percent. She just creepers. What happened? No, it's a classic one.
Starting point is 00:26:02 It's an anchor in the guess sheet. She just creeps. What happened? No, it's a classic one. Owner's anchoring in the grocery shop. A false anchor. And this comes in from Trevor, a really simple one. Like a lot. Whenever, anybody, another one I guess in the bragging realm, and he's a good because bragging is a way to gain power. That's why people do it.
Starting point is 00:26:24 They think it gives them power. And if you can cut someone down when they're on their way to their powerful position, you can absorb that power. Very much, I believe, the martial arts touch each a, what is that one? We use that opponent's body weight if they come at you, attacking you. You know, you use that. Probably like Jiu-Jitsu as well. But anything we use their body weight against them, so you go with them like Jiu-Jitsu as well, but anything we use their body weight against them. Yes. So you go with the momentum. Yeah, I mean, oh, so much better.
Starting point is 00:26:48 Now who's in rear guard? Maybe the guy you thought you were bragging to. So I think this has got a bit of this. When somebody tells you a fact about themselves, which is usually kind of a boring person, I suppose, it just likes the conversation to be, just throwing out arbitrary facts like, oh, you know, I used to really like,
Starting point is 00:27:06 or a Garmin is a kid, or something, just no one needed to know. Always say thoughtfully, that explains a lot. Really like that? Yeah. And like, you know, we're like, oh, you know, sometimes on the weekend, I've, you know, built a car with a few mates. We take it out to the track and we, you know,
Starting point is 00:27:32 we race around trying to get the best time. I mean, it explains a lot. No, no, it was a brag. It was a brag. Shouldn't explain anything, it's a joke. Cool, I am. This one's from Harry here. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:43 Jim based. Cool. While wearing headphones, power am. This one's from Harry Ham. Jim based, while wearing headphones power move. Nice. Said, when you're in the gym using headphones, and if you don't hear someone the first time they've said something, your default response should be, yeah mate, see you later. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:01 Yeah, it's good. You thought they were just saying goodbye. But they have to kind of stick around awkwardly after that to try and ask again, invariably you can get them to leave. I got one here, Andy, I think there's a very rare to wear one where we go, oh, I'm not sure about this. Okay, so I prefer is by saying Henry, thank you for writing it.
Starting point is 00:28:27 We love you. Martin made the book. Martin made the book. Okay. I'll see what Andy says about it. It's what Jack says about it. It's to do with sports, a few of played sports.
Starting point is 00:28:37 Jack Futsal, the U, the kind of soccer based on Fuzball, the popular table game. People know Futsal now, it's very popular now. Yes. Yes. Why is the ball so heavy? I didn't invent Fuzball. It's a tightest.
Starting point is 00:28:52 Fuzball. And that was the tradition. Kicking so hard that you end up with a sore feet. Yeah. It's evolved and good for the sport. And various ball sports. You'd be aware, this is a ball sport. Okay, palmif, it's for soccer though.
Starting point is 00:29:08 Okay, look, when you're playing soccer, if an off-position player's shot is definitely going in and you can't stop it, just booting yourself to stop them claiming the goal. No, no, no. They can't have the game. They can't have the game. I don't think they can tell because I argue Henry that if you can boot it in, you can stop it. It's a difficult conversation to have with your team mates to go, no, it was right in that
Starting point is 00:29:40 zone where I could kick it into the goal, but nowhere else. And I did the right thing, guys, by denying that their opposition player is stat. He doesn't get the morale boost. They won't go on to win. Trust me. We've done the right thing. No power, boy. It's the back-you-hander. I don't know if it's a power move. I just think you're setting yourself up for some team ridicule.
Starting point is 00:30:06 This one is him. Caleb Phillips. Power move. When getting a lift with someone in their car, car pulling from a longer distance type drive. Right. Straight away jumping the car and say, I'd offer some petrol money, but I know you wouldn't accept it
Starting point is 00:30:32 Anything for any way there's a chance you'd love this one. You're gonna use this four times by something You win your best win scenarios that they don't ask. He said, if they do, it's worth it. But this is the win loosener. He's got to follow up line for you, which is if they said, well, actually... I would like something. Struggling a bit at the moment, hey? Make him work for it. Make him work.
Starting point is 00:30:58 LAUGHTER MUSIC Because, do you remember years and years New Zealand the radio show, we invented a company, social media network to take down Facebook? Chums group. Chums group was a powerful online force, it works. We beat them. We called the win.
Starting point is 00:31:18 We did the honorable thing and we moved back out of the battle scene and then they stayed in the battle round and we were up and deading that they Well, no, no. I'm pretending that they were winning. And then in a way, they've written history. Yeah, we've written history a little bit, just by, in the way that we then was writing high with how many subscribers we had. There was tens of thousands of chums group people. And growing at a rate like from zero to a hundred, we were very fast, much quicker than Facebook and my space and all those ones.
Starting point is 00:31:46 But then we got overconfident with hacking situation. Well, I think it's actually a course to retail for Facebook who are trying to introduce their currency, Libra. I don't know where that's at. I see various articles around about it, but we introduced chumbers.
Starting point is 00:32:02 Oh, chum bucks, sorry, for each chumber. You got it when you joined chumbscruv, you got a chumber. You got a dumber, which was a chambas. Oh, chambucks, sorry, for each chamba. You got it when you joined. Chambascript, you got a chamba. You got a dumbo, which was a chamba. And introducing chambucks, that made people a bit greedy, didn't it? It turned our beautiful utopia into a capitalist cutthroat society. It was an interesting experiment. And then we put up a graphic of a security camera on the website and said it. It's a display.
Starting point is 00:32:25 So it's very, it's very secure. There's no one could hack it. And then when we... Much like the... I'm a flight recognition camera as I could expect that in the car bar here. Then we logged on and I think there's a dancing hot dog across the screen and it's a little hot thing didn't work.
Starting point is 00:32:39 And then some people had 500 trillion chumbucks and stuff. So they figured it out of hack the back end. Because how did you earn one chubber? Jet you remember, you had a factory didn't you? Yeah, you could click on the machine and it would earn you 10 chumbucks. I think you had to click 100 times and it was a... No, it was like, it was sort of
Starting point is 00:32:56 we invented mining Bitcoin before it was a thing like it was labor intensive. You clicked on a lever and then it went through a machine and to wait for it to then, it got came out of the earth, into a machine and then came out of the buck and then you'd have to click on it again. And you had to watch that animation. And so that, then the day after when we realized some chums and some of this is on us, some
Starting point is 00:33:17 of the members of Jums Group, you would see in message boards and had your chumbucks tally next to your name, which in hindsight was a kind of a, as it ever grows, a gross thing to do, but sort of like, you're carrying around visibly, you wallet, telling everyone, yeah, I'm more important than you, as everyone's walker with our ATM receipts did stable to their head. And obviously, it is some rare. But it probably was the wrong metric to, you know, go judge each chumb by their chumbuck balance. But then we saw some people had trillions. And obviously the maths did not work out. We didn't think those had been mined legally.
Starting point is 00:33:50 And we realized that they got into it. Anyway, the main feature, the reason I bring up chums group is the main feature of chums group, the central feature, the thing that people loved the most was the flag pole system. We're instead of having to write status updates, you couldn't write, you couldn't really write. There was no way to write. And it saved so many people's time. So you had you had your your shack. Yep. That was on your page. And you flew a flag.
Starting point is 00:34:13 And you had a flag pull out the front of the shack. And you could select what flag you wanted to fly. And there was a very, very generous 200 flag colors on option that that represented all potential human emotions or moods. And that was just a much simpler way because you go, okay, mose, okay, that guys worried about his footy team this weekend or whatever it was. So that far easier than reading anything. Oh, identify color. I mean, it's a short cut.
Starting point is 00:34:37 It's a short cut and it's sort of, that was the beauty of Chums Creek. So the flag system I do miss, I miss a little bit. It was great, but as we, you know, as we covered, there was inherent problems. On the reason I bring it up is on the weekend, someone was talking to me, they've got a, they've recently bought a new house, we're renting a new house and I had a flagpole, all right, and you see him around, we've got one in our neighborhood, but flagpole houses are a bit rare, right? And so this person was like, you know what, I love having a flagpole. I'm like, we're And so this person was like, you know what, I love having a flag pole.
Starting point is 00:35:05 I'm like, we're gonna get the Australian flag, we're gonna get the Aboriginal flag. And they were explaining between me, going, go think about a flag pole is, you know, if you wanna fly the flag or any flag, you can really, you can put it on there. And you can fly it high. And if you, and I said, look, I understand.
Starting point is 00:35:21 You know a flag, right? And they didn't realize who they were talking to, really. And they're like, and you know, we might, it could be a special day of the season, we might fly there, and I try to say, look, I understand. Trust me, you're embarrassing yourself. Yeah, because you don't understand, you don't understand it, you're talking to it.
Starting point is 00:35:38 And you know, we might just, the kids might make a flag. Yes. And I just had to say, just, you are making a damn fool out of this. You're pitching to me. Chums grew up. I, I know.
Starting point is 00:35:51 I invented this basically. I was there in the room when we came up with this system. So don't tell me that flag poles are a great way to communicate how you feel. Because we know from the get-go. This was us. This was us. Just a crazy story of like being part of a dot-com bubble.
Starting point is 00:36:11 It burst. And now people, they don't know who they're talking to. It's like walking past the founder of Friendster. And they're in a park bench and they're babbling. But you don't know that they were there at the forefront. Did you warn them about hackers? No, I didn't. I punished them.
Starting point is 00:36:28 And I hope I go to their house and there is someone and there is a hot dog out there. Dancing around. And the window is on fire without affecting the kids. I hope so. And you seem happy. Yes. Why wouldn't you be?
Starting point is 00:36:51 Oh, great day. Had a great day. Let's try and maintain your happiness over the same term upset you for our amusement. Everything is neat and practical, because that's the way it likes it but what if it wasn't? Upset Andy! We'll find out now Luke. Get a jar, can a big happy birthday Andy first of all. Mate, Andy like himself. I'm also very OCD so when the boy... I don't know CD mate, it just a little bit. It seemed very seems very certain about that. Almost disproving the claim.
Starting point is 00:37:29 Mate, while I was a holidaying in America last year, we caught an Uber and the Uber driver had one of those mobile phone car mounts that one would typically mount to their windscreen above us, dealing with... Right, suction mount. Yeah mate, yeah. So she had that suction to the LCD monitor. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. Yeah, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no can't see his other hand I think it's not the pencil you got him work he got him how did you how did you handle liquid you're right? I don't feel it. Get out of moving. Just open the door. You're right. She's doing that with a suction man. What's she doing with the rest of the vehicle?
Starting point is 00:38:17 Good. Made good. Madeline Madeline have you got something to upset Andy? Hi, yes I do. I was brought to my kitchen that I'm not normal by doing this, but I actually have never, and probably will never back up my phone to the cloud. Yeah. Everyone at work thought I was crazy, but don't have time. Yeah, he does, Madeline, to be honest. I mean, it's, I never ever had a problem. Never.
Starting point is 00:38:43 Madeline, you need like contacts. No, I I never ever had a problem. Never. Never. There you go. Madeline, you need like contacts. No. I don't care about a phoenix. They'll find her. They won't. They won't. They will.
Starting point is 00:38:53 This day and age, you can't find her. You can't find me if I lose them, I don't find me. Yeah, so is that easy to get off the grid? I can't even, you need to find someone, man. Yeah, you'll find them. Who do you need to find now? Who do you need to find? Who do you need to find?
Starting point is 00:39:02 Who do you need to find? If you lost your phone now, tell me who you need to find. I'll do you need to find? If you lost your phone now, tell me who you need to find. I'll find them for you. I know. Bex, Mum's number. Yeah, Gaze. I've got Bex number. I'll call her.
Starting point is 00:39:12 If it's the regular old. For every single person, you can do that. That's fine. I'm very happy to do that. Have we ever had this before if you were to take this? Bianca lost all her contacts, like Madeline said, could happen and didn't start saving people's numbers. So we just go through the, if they had a message chain, go through the message and try and work out who it was, but instead of save the person's name.
Starting point is 00:39:33 No, no, no problem there. The system works. Do you match you? Do you match you? Do you match you? Do you match you? Do you match you? Do you match you?
Starting point is 00:39:43 Do you match you? Do you match you? Do you match you? Do you match you? Do you match you? Do you match you? Oh, holy boys, happy birthday, Andy and congrats on the far superior P. Hame. Thank you so much, Andy, trying not to talk about it obviously, better to do a pre-shed. I have to say thank you, of course, for being with the credits, too. Don't have to, to me. That we've made a lot of effort. Very, very quickly. Thanks, Betty. What have you got?
Starting point is 00:39:58 So, you know, those little cans of junior get, but I don't bother with a fork of spoon when I eat them. I just cracked it to an open and I bend the little't bother with a fork of spoon when I eat them. I just cracked it to open and bend the little metal lid into a bit of a shovel. And there you go. That's what I'm talking about. I'm not a puckeye. I'm sorry. I wouldn't do it.
Starting point is 00:40:16 Don't hate it. Because this is a part of upset Andy that people often It's a grey area. The grey area is like the Efficiency. The efficiency is is like, the efficiency, as soon as something's more efficient, I don't need it to be ordered. Well, look, I'm not gonna lie, it is a little bit sharp and it takes a bit of practice
Starting point is 00:40:35 because there's a few little cut lips here and there, but I'm saying, then you would have no sympathy for that. He would say, get better at doing it. Yes, he'd say, use a error. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, I don't, it hasn't upset me. that he would say get better at doing it. Yes. He'd say use a error. Yeah. So, I don't, it hasn't upset me. It's kind of mild.
Starting point is 00:40:49 It's certainly not, what about if it's going to always drip on the bench and slop every day? That annoying. Well, does it drip and slop? Well, you kind of hovered above your head a little and took your head back and just let gravity. Oh, and quick. Yeah, because you can't really have the sharpness of the metal in your mouth.
Starting point is 00:41:07 It's annoying and now I'm at it. It doesn't like the neck issue. It doesn't do like that. It didn't like the crink in the neck. See you back. That's what he ate. Locked, then. Locked, then.
Starting point is 00:41:16 Locked, then. Have you got something for you, Andy? So, if I'm wearing my sonny, usually means I'm very busy. And I've got things to do, people to see. If I get a smart job and I just leave it there, I can still say. You can see, you can have one whole eye blacked out and you can still say. You can't.
Starting point is 00:41:34 You can't. You can't say that. Say if you're busy, you wouldn't do them, but would you leave it there forever or are you going to next available to? Easy, easy, easy forget about it and then just it comes up and say, oh I'm just lying on the couch, maybe I'll fix it then, but usually it doesn't happen. So what's going on with you?
Starting point is 00:41:50 So what's going on with you? So I'm the couch. You and me are pretty similar, like we're busy men. The great thing is I've been a rookie like you. The great thing is, like the human brain will adapt around that. Yes. And that's the best. It involves the depth of it. Yep. And that's the improvised adaptover.
Starting point is 00:42:05 Yep, and I, and I do think, I do think it's almost insulting. I often think you're insulting your brain and you're insulting evolution to clean the glasses like that and burn your valuable time on the surf. It's why you can't feel yourself wearing pants. What's there already down there? You don't feel them anymore,
Starting point is 00:42:23 because you're not wearing them. It's like a blind spot. The blind spot. Yeah, your brain feels it in. I love it, like. Okay, see you guys. Superior brain. LAUGHTER
Starting point is 00:42:30 MUSIC Before we go, I hope everyone's staying safe out there wherever we are in the world. I'm sure you are. Thank you for connecting with us. You know how everyone's at home. You never insist stay safe at the moment. Yeah, stay safe, have. Has it ever fallen
Starting point is 00:42:46 on someone's ears that is just doing something dangerous and like, okay, yes, I will stay safe. We're like, there's a lot of stay safe going on. I think we are being safe. Yeah, it's not. I've never had anyone say stay safe to me just as I'm like licking a
Starting point is 00:42:58 door handle. The supermarket or something got up. Yeah. Well, my mum always drives safely to me. Yeah. And when I'm leaving like, one day she won't, you can take all those jumps on the way home. Ha ha ha.
Starting point is 00:43:11 Um, hey, people have been hitting us up, hey, mishni.com anything, any musings you have hit us there. Obviously you can go get loyalty card. But we had a request for the juping game to come back. Great request. Uh, this game, if you didn't have heard it, essentially we need people that have an amazing thing in the house, amazing art. It could be amazing, it could be a memorabilia.
Starting point is 00:43:33 And you reach out and you'll tell us about that. We'll question you about the memorabilia. You either actually have it or you don't have it at all. We're gonna smell the jupe. Can you jupe it? So yeah, hit us up, hamishney.com if you've got any of those and we'll catch you next week. Have a great week. Listen up.
