Starting point is 00:00:00 A list-knife production. Activate your internet. Cause the Haymission and the Podcast starts in 3, 2, sorry, still buffering. 1. A Hoi to the H-Men. Hello, I'm Doug. Oh, a Hoi to the J-men. Ahoi. J-Wisle. J-Wisle. Do you have like a, what would you do for J? The J-bum. The J-bum. No, not really either.
Starting point is 00:00:36 Big old fat J. The J-Walk. The J-Walk. The J-Walk. A J-Walk. Yeah. A J-Walk. That's nice. Okay. Also a Hoi to Liam who uploaded his, what is up to at HamishNearly.com. I'm just an oon Havish and Andy. It's Liam from the Valley Sports Bar down in the North Road Tasmania. Just happy to let you know that we're accepting the Havish and Andy logo T-card.
Starting point is 00:01:00 Okay. With customers getting an extra 10% beer in their scooter. I'm not sure how I'll figure that out how I'm going to give them that, but anyway, it's only going to end up being 5% because the other 5% goes in my mouth which can't really complain about. So once I sort that out, I'll let you know, thanks. Thank you, LeBosip. I guess it's pretty simple. You just contact a custom-made plastics company and build a 10% taller rim that clips on discursors when people ask for it Fill that up and you take a little sip
Starting point is 00:01:28 I you go back down to half way up the new custom rim. I didn't mind the idea of pouring an additional shot glass full of Yeah, he just yes Here's your loyalty shot and I'll take half a sip of it a shot glass with two straws I'll take half a sip of it. A shot glass with two straws. Hame, exciting times. We've got a bunch of people sitting here in the studio already because we've got a special skill, a music-based special skill to kick off the show with.
Starting point is 00:01:54 It's Joe's, he's sent it in, and he joins us on the line now. What do you, Joe? Oh, hey, boy, happy birthday, Andy. No need. Drain your joke. Wait a minute. This is exciting. As I just stated, joke. Oh, man. This is exciting.
Starting point is 00:02:05 As I just stated, the special skill, play me any note, he says, on any instrument, and I'll tell you what note it is. So in the music world, that's referred to as perfect pitch. I take it to your musician. I am, yep, music, playing music for a length of time,
Starting point is 00:02:20 mainly guitar for the drums, but yeah. Oh, huh, a fellow drummer. Interesting. I can hear the notes in the drums, but yeah. Oh, how I'm a fellow drummer. Interesting. I can hear the notes in the drum. He loved. No, he's just laughing so exciting. It's just fun when you made a drummer. We laugh because we are some of the most free musicians
Starting point is 00:02:37 you'll meet, and we laugh for laugh of the truly free. Joe, what's the, thanks for backing it up. Joe, what's the craziest note you've picked and the wildest instrument? Actually, to be fair, I've only really tried this on guitar, but I'm feeling pretty confident that, I mean, like notes and notes on music instrument, right? I feel like I should get up to this. But you have some crazy ones, like right up the end of the piano.
Starting point is 00:03:07 What's the craziest note you reckon you've done? Oh. I mean, that's not a note, Ham. There's only 12 notes. Yeah, it's only 12 notes. Yeah, it depends on what octave it is. Yeah, okay. Let's say it's one of the real, you know, less and known octaves.
Starting point is 00:03:26 One of the rarest octaves. I mean, I feel like it would be very hard to do like the really low octaves because you can barely even hear it just out like a little example. Yeah, okay. I could do that. Well, Joe, here we go. We've got students from the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music in here.
Starting point is 00:03:48 We didn't muck around. Oh, well, they've got five, there's five of them, five different instruments. Yes. And start, yeah. Should we say what, four out of five, and he gets a coin? Yeah. If he's hitting the, if he's apps, if it is perfect pitch, not to be used with pitch perfect,
Starting point is 00:04:16 the hit revolts and stuff. If he's hitting perfect pitch, yeah, four out of five is close enough for me. OK, let's jump into the opener. Can I get you, Joe? Joe, are you ready for note number one? I'm ready. As a fun side game, we'll let you have a guess at what instrument, but it's for no points. It's irrelevant.
Starting point is 00:04:44 As I said, it's just a fun side. So no, yeah. This is a different kind of fun. It was not. So we couldn't be dangerous mixing business and pleasure, but that's what we're risking as we do this. So have you have some fun, but stay focused on the task. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:05:01 And if the fun is too overwhelming, we're banning it. Yeah, we're stripping the game away. If we think you're spending too much time on instrument identification, you'll be banned from that. But if I'm listening, you can still have that amount of fun because they haven't been engaged at a professional level to win a coin. That's right. Okay.
Starting point is 00:05:18 Max, take us away with note number one. Okay. That is our G. one. It's a G so he said yeah he's got it okay that's the business out of the way would you like to have your phone oh yeah is that like a Definitely a wind instrument. Oh spot on it's a hunger He's having a while he's getting his work done and he's also having a lot of fun at work All right max moves out work well done and it's also Jess stands up now. Jess. Hello. Hello to you Well done. It's also just stands up now. Just hello to you. Hi.
Starting point is 00:06:05 Just quickly, how often do you have the pressure of no warm up and coming into just one solitary note? Is there pressure involved? There's definitely pressure involved. I try not to, but no, this sort of situation. You're a professional. Take a look at the thing, you know, just if you're feeling pressure, you're a pro. That's this is the big stage. You know, I've been to, you know, just if you feel unpressured, you're a pro. That's this is the big stage. Who, you know, I've been to, you know, many times overseas, you'll go and see like the London Philharmonic, whatever it like, you know, see Boris. No, I've been several occasions and it
Starting point is 00:06:37 will just be the best in the world playing one note. And often I went to see Boris Yelkovich play an aflap and he walked out and you can really as nervous, you can tell he was nervous, and everyone's like, Boris, Boris. And he almost did it and he gathered himself. And he was on the pipe organ, so it's a bit easier. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:56 But we just hit that A-flat and we all filed out and we're all coming to going, that's a nice quick standing ovation. Standing ovation, nice quick. It's still a nice quick night. You know, and you're free to go and do what else. Some of these concerts can be way too long. Anyway, we're spoken too long.
Starting point is 00:07:11 Jess, OK, is it already Joe? Jess, give us the note. Good luck. Baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa It's an A. More information. It's going to have species of A. That's a G-Shop. Which is true, it's an A-Flat. We'll give you that. We give you Jaws. Wow.
Starting point is 00:07:46 Okay, the one we know is an A-flat. Well done, Jesse nailed it. Yeah. A more of a sharp kind of guy. Right. Me too. Because then there are people that prefer to call them A-flats, other people that prefer them call you G-Shops.
Starting point is 00:08:00 I feel like you're either one or the other. Yeah. Okay. I can actually do that. Okay. I can actually do that. Okay. I can actually do that. Okay.
Starting point is 00:08:09 I can actually do that. Okay. I can actually do that. Okay. I can actually do that. Okay. I can actually do that. Okay. I can actually do that.
Starting point is 00:08:17 Okay. I can actually do that. Okay. I can actually do that. Okay. I can actually do that. Okay. I can actually do that. Okay. I can actually do that. Okay, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. That's okay. I mean, obviously you either wouldn't get along with Joe
Starting point is 00:08:46 because he's what was Japs guy. It might be like gang warfare or a firey friendship. I'm heated debates and mutual respect. But to do yes, let's go. Netanya, lay a note on us. So, Nathania, they are the same thing. Well, this is flat. Shut, this is Jets.
Starting point is 00:09:27 Maybe thank you very much. Yeah, this is maybe the sharp one. Yeah, from free. Well done. It occurred to me right now that you could have a chromatic tuner just next to the phone. And your endangered species of fish. I actually don't know fish that you are. I don't know why that's relevant.
Starting point is 00:09:52 No, that's a good not the time to have it to spout the message of sustainable fisheries but certainly when we support here, anyway, back to the car. Back to the car. What I want this time, Joe, is you can't sing the note afterwards. Because the tune probably wouldn't hear it down the phone line, but if you're singing it repeating it. Isn't that still perfect if you can repeat the time? No, mate. You could repeat the time.
Starting point is 00:10:23 Mate, you're the one who's got a fish there. OK. OK. It's time for Julian. Julian, unleash your note, please. Oh, we didn't. Do you want to have your fun on the instrument? Oh, yeah. Sorry. We've got about the fun, Nathaniel.
Starting point is 00:10:35 Oh, yeah. I can't forget it. OK, we've got a lot of fun. Does the volume, I think, everyone got that. OK, let's not forget the fun. I'm sure of the fun. Is that fun? Let's get rid of it. Yeah, yeah. It's started off fun, but it's dragging.
Starting point is 00:10:45 It's a handbrake now. Julian, unleash the noise. Well done. That is the D-Sharp. D-Sharp. A-K-A. E-flat. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:01 He's good. He's good. He's good. He's really good. Yeah. Do you want to have your good. He's good. He's real good. That's good. Do you want to have your fun? No, we decided against it. You can move on, Julie, in which leaves.
Starting point is 00:11:10 Good work, Julie. We've already got four from four. Even though we've had quite a lot of territory. Even though we've had quite a lot of territory. We've had quite a lot of territory. We've had quite a lot of territory. That's all right. I mean, let's just round it out.
Starting point is 00:11:20 We'll have the debate out if you miss this. Yeah. But let's just round it out here. Kena joins us. Can I hear you there? Yeah, I'm here. Kena, could you have done this to you have perfect pitch? No. No.
Starting point is 00:11:32 You know, obviously you're hanging with a lot of musos at the Melbourne Conservatory of music. How many people would have perfect pitch percentage wise of people studying music? I don't know, maybe like five to 10. Five to 10%. So you were in a, it is a special skill. And that's a very special skill.
Starting point is 00:11:46 Studying music. Okay. Quick question, Ken, what's the, there's conservatories of music and conservatoriums. Who's conserving it more? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha Yeah, is that a higher level than a conservatory? I have no idea. Right. No, I don't either. But they're all concerned. But it's good that it's not going in.
Starting point is 00:12:10 They've been in the tight container, they can serve themselves well. We don't let it drop out. Okay, Kena. Actually, they do, obviously, let a few drops out, but only one note at a time. So we are sort of breaking the rules of the conservatory I'm here by allowing some music to escape I will conserve it after this. Kena, I'm keen to hear your note let's do it. Have you fun first actually? What do you think the instrument that was?
Starting point is 00:12:41 Um, that's not a four way. Oh, right. was. Um, that's not a full one. Right. But soon. And that is the sound of a man having fun. Like, will I be able to get a replay? Oh, he had his phone. Yeah, this is a great lesson on sitting focus. Okay. No, yes. Do your homework first. Then you can have TV. He is the deal then, Joe. You must get this to get a coin. Right. All right, I got it. Yep.
Starting point is 00:13:11 Play the note. We won't distract you with any fun in between. Go for it, Tina. BELL RINGS He's played the same. Let us see. He's got it. He's got it.
Starting point is 00:13:22 Oh, brilliant. Garden variety, see. You've got yourself a coin, it's coming your way. Guys, thank you so much for coming in. Huge. Kena, we're going to get you a token of no value for coming and playing. Yeah, thank you. Everyone gets one.
Starting point is 00:13:38 Take the token of no value. We give it no value whatsoever. You can put whatever value you want on it. But again, from our point of view, it, it's valueless. Valueless. It comes valueless, but it's certainly a vessel that you can fill with it, your own value. And I always feel like at the end of a successful, special skill that we have been chaded,
Starting point is 00:13:53 but that's a good feeling. Yeah, you just go, you got it well, you did a well, that's a sign of a great skill. Yep, absolutely. It's a great skill. Well done, bud. So I say that as a compliment, you're big cheap. Ah!
Starting point is 00:14:03 Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah So I say that as a compliment, you're big cheap. All right, ando, we're going to touch back on where we're at in the pizza lotto. Oh, yes. Pino of the, Zio Pino's pizzeria in Sydney, which is the venue we used to play pizza lotto. Action. Fraud charge. Well, yeah, authenticity questioning. I suppose. Sydney, which is the venue we use to play Pete Salotto. Action. Fraud charge.
Starting point is 00:14:25 Well, yeah, authenticity questioning. I suppose. I should have. Bought to the podcast by an alert listener. No, if I think it was. No, if you're digging back through the archives, say to Hangman, you know, guys, have a listen to this audio. It appears that, you know, answers, and his accent is low.
Starting point is 00:14:43 Yes. Or perhaps missing. Yeah missing when he says, how are you? And then once we identify ourselves as Hamschandion, he realizes he's on the show. Nathan's charge is the accent comes roaring back, maybe about 130%. Thick Italian.
Starting point is 00:14:58 Thick Italian. So it went from Thin Aussie to Thick Italian. Sounds like two-, delicious pizzas. Two delicious pizzas. Deep pan. Or thin and crispy. Yeah. You didn't eat it, didn't you?
Starting point is 00:15:11 So. And we wonder where the truth lies. So if you missed this, this was the audio and question Nathan's saying when we called Peno a while ago. Hello, Tbino. Oh, Peno. Oh, Peno. How are you, sir?
Starting point is 00:15:29 Hey, how you doing? It's actually me. Hey, how are you? You good? You never take a Tuesday off, do you? You are. Well, before you had nine to mom in. Nine to mom in.
Starting point is 00:15:41 It's pretty damning, isn't it? It gets thicker too. The further the pizza goes on. Well yeah, it's too dark. You get to the crust. It's the size of a loaf of bread. It feels like he goes from thin to no accent. Yeah. Thick Italian, then to Italian, English is a second language. Like I'm just... Oh my, searching for the word. Yeah, almost. I'm sure of the language. However, you're going to go in and I fiercely backpainted. We all do here, loving.
Starting point is 00:16:12 But at the same time, justice must be blind. And so we're left in this horrible situation where we were planning to bring pets a lot of back this week. And we can't obviously do it on this episode while we have an open investigation. And we would have changed, it feels unfair to change. I would never would change the venue. Change venues.
Starting point is 00:16:32 And here's the thing, we, just by the way, got on C if we could track down to zero Pino on Instagram. I saw it, yeah, saw it for it. He was celebrating I think he's 60th birthday. I think, I'll, no, I might have been the stores. I think they were one shy of an anniversary. I think I might have been 29 years in the game or 30 years ago.
Starting point is 00:16:50 He did look authentic Italian. Oh, authentico. Absolutely Italian or authentico. But they're not raised in another suspicion. So I went to get images and type in Italian person. Just to see whether they did have a watermark across his head in the photo. But no, it's the real one. So that's good. It looks, it all signs point to this should be cleared up, but we also just can we just can't brush it under the carpet. When someone
Starting point is 00:17:13 on this show, and a listener of this show raises an issue, we do have a responsibility to investigate. So we think the fairest course of action here is the game is suspended at the moment, handing an investigation at authenticity probe. We are in the lucky position, and I am living in Sydney, and I'm close to getting my two Z-opinus, close to the one we're both in Melbourne. I propose to go out there, and I wanted to clear up exactly what we want from the investigation. Now I will wear a blonde wig. We were clarifying what we want. That wasn't on my list at all.
Starting point is 00:17:56 Well, I think you would want me to be adequately disguised. Okay. And we're a blonde wig. And I was not my one list. Bang at the back of the pizza rear. I was like, where a wire. Yeah, of course, I'll record it. Yeah, record it.
Starting point is 00:18:10 I hope I was at risked as I enter. And most pizza shops don't do that. Most pizza shops are customer friendly. So I wear a wire. I got a blonde wig on. I will observe Pino from afar before ordering. I will then order. Great.
Starting point is 00:18:25 So the first stage I think is going, how's the interacting with everyone? Yep. I propose this. Do I learn some Italian and give you Italian phrase to see if he responds in Italian? Can I put this forth? I think that's a great idea.
Starting point is 00:18:40 Thank you. I think you arrive, observe, then you realize you may have left your world in the car. Go back out, just record yourself first impressions. Discuss what we want to hear. Then you can go back into the drive, observe, realize. Then we want to hear what your gut is off of that before you have any interaction. Head back in, you order with an Italian phrase attached.
Starting point is 00:19:05 Yeah. And then we'll see what his reaction is to that. And then obviously come back to base game. Do I have permission to make a captain's call in the moment to reveal myself if I feel that he's passed the complete authenticity test? Absolutely. Exonerating him in the moment.
Starting point is 00:19:22 In the moment. Absolutely. To let him know the suspension's been lifted, and then he and expect a call from us. The very next record day, and he's back, completely cleared. Because what I think the likely scenario here is where he's accent goes to thin. He's distracted, he's low energy.
Starting point is 00:19:38 I think he's accent is possibly enthusiasm driven. And I'm fine with that. And also some people. That's very Italian. That is how enthusiasm driven. And I'm fine with that. And also some people. That's very Italian. That is how we behave. Mimic accents when they hang out with people. I'm a fan for it sometimes, where you just gotta get.
Starting point is 00:19:51 He's heard me. And he's probably come off a call where a real Aussie guy was ordering a pizza. Oh, right. Gotcha. Sorry, I thought he's heard me as an Italian and gone. Here we go. And he started to do my Italian accent.
Starting point is 00:20:02 Well, so isn't that a not a fair test then? If you speak to him in Italian, he's gonna go more Italian. Should you speak to him in a super Aussie voice? That's true. Or completely neutral. So I do see we go in the second, I think I like it. So I go up, yeah, you're right, I go up
Starting point is 00:20:20 and we'll get the real authenticity. If I go up for Laka, for L authenticity. If you go to I go up for Locker, and then he call the combats that, with very Italian, thick Italian. That's a perfect idea. So, thick Australian versus thick Italian. Yes. And I mean, great. When do you think you might be able to get this investigation? No, no, you've got files piling up.
Starting point is 00:20:43 Filing us on. Many investigations on. I'll suspend a few. Why don't I suspend a couple of investigations? I can have it done by next week. But I will have to, yeah, I'll have to cancel a few things. A couple of noses will be at a joint. You let me take care of that. Thank you. And I'll sort that out. But Jack, you will, I will also get a big ask from you for making it done so quick. Jack. No comment. No, no, just say no. You're not going to be a ask from you. Okay, no. Okay, there you go. We be hear me Like secure the recording
Starting point is 00:21:49 Swinging around So I thought I tried a little test his way great great attempt to cover Jack. What do you say? No comprehension is what you need. No, what do you have to say to this? No, listen, not listening is what I meant. No interest. No conscious recognition of what you're saying. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.
Starting point is 00:22:25 Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Question for you guys. Yes. If you make a bet with someone. Yes.
Starting point is 00:22:36 Is it your responsibility to tell them that they've won? Is it their responsibility to remember that they've made the dead? Yeah. And alert you to the fact that you owe them something? Yeah. Or yeah, I think it's the punters responsibility. SportsBet doesn't contact you and go, congratulations. Or online they do.
Starting point is 00:22:59 Do they send you an email? Yeah. Well, they put them in your account. Well, yeah, but you've got to check. But I was saying, like, if you go with app-based ones, if you've name out? Yeah, well, they put them in your account. Well, yeah, but you've got a check. But I would say, like, if you go with app-based ones, if you've printed out a ticket, you've got the racetrack, you've got the tote, you got the tote, put your bet on,
Starting point is 00:23:13 they don't go, oh mate, just letting you know. Yeah, I mean, watch the lights. Someone's in chase you and tap him up, and I'm just like, hey, you didn't come back to us. Since your responsibility is the person that took the bet, that's what I think for the bet, to chase up your winning. Yep, that's what I think. So, let I think for the bet. To chase up your winning. Yep. That's what I think.
Starting point is 00:23:25 So, let me guess which side of the fence you're on. We were, we were, this is happening. So, the bet wasn't between you guys and I. So, that's okay. That's not, this is not a trap. The bet was with a friend of ours, Aaron Hillier. I mean, that, there's new, there's whole different rules for Hillier. So, he's been on the podcast occasionally.
Starting point is 00:23:44 We try to keep it sparse because he's a ball of energy. Yep. And can be a sometimes food. Sometimes food. I owe him a bet made on the fifth of May 2017. It wouldn't surprise me if it was 1998. So because he's the kind of guy that would absolutely be still holding on to.
Starting point is 00:24:03 He doesn't know. I owe him. What was the bet? Well, I don't want to say it out loud because in case he hears this and then goes, I remember this is the bet. So it's a football related bet. It was about two teams. Okay.
Starting point is 00:24:17 And I bet him a bottle of grain. He always goes in a bottle of grain, which is a very popular and expensive wine. I'd already won one off him. That's nice. When you came around and he played golf against me. He thought he would be better at the golf simulator than Andy. I don't remember the specifics of the Nullages, remember him getting deep in a hole.
Starting point is 00:24:40 Yes. You might have always played with two bottles. I walked over the bit. That's why I felt bad and I offered this get-bet back up. I lost, I just wanna know, should we call him and say, here's the deal. If you remember the bit, I'm gonna jog your memory that there was a bit made.
Starting point is 00:24:57 If you remember it, I'll honor it. But if you don't remember it. That's fair, it's fair. Well, you feel that's the equivalent of not having your ticket. Yeah, okay. But if you don't remember it, that's fair. It's fair. Well, you've equivalent of not having a ticket. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:25:07 I mean, this thing about opening a can full of worms is, then the worms are off and out of the can. Yeah. So, if you're allergic to worms, step back. Yeah. Here we go. What date was it? May the 5th, 2017.
Starting point is 00:25:27 Aaron, who is thinking? Aaron, it's a HeyMachine Addy here and Jack, how are you mate? Hello boys, here we go. Very good. Very good. We had a quick question off the top and we thought you'd be the perfect person to us. Hell yeah, if someone makes a bet with someone, is it the responsibility of the winner to inform
Starting point is 00:25:50 the loser that they owe them? Or is it the responsibility of the loser to inform the winner that they owe them? Well, I think it's implied that the loser would always know that he's lost. Yeah, they would know, but does he have to inform someone? I mean, if you go to the races and put a bet on, and you've got the. Yeah, they would know, but does he have to inform someone? I mean, if you go to the races and put a bet on and you've got the winning ticket, they don't call you up and go, hey mate, you've got the winning ticket just reminding you to come on down and cash it in. Yeah, but, and Ben Hammer, that's a third party. We're talking about friends. I mean, they might
Starting point is 00:26:17 have got your ticket, but the money, I'll go and cash it out now, by the way, whatever it is. Okay, so always Always, always. No, I think you've seen what we're trying to do, and you've never put your best foot forward. He's good. So, Aaron, you and I have a bad outstanding. Oh, here we go. If he's very fond of this...
Starting point is 00:26:37 Well, no, no, no. You've won it. Yeah. Andy Reckon is standing in the back for you. That's different. It is different for you. Yeah, Andy reckons that you have won a bet with him, but you have never followed it up. Well, isn't this strange? I mean, honestly, I had a bet with you, Andy, this is honestly mud on your face. I had a bet with you and I brought round a bottle of grain. I know. I took that bottle of grain. We have since on May the 5th, 2017 had another bit, Aaron, for a bottle of grain.
Starting point is 00:27:12 You have won it, but I think because you never came back and you probably don't even remember what the bet is, I'm not sure if I have to honor it. Oh, please. There's going to be interest. I'm just going to patch me loyering. Do you remit? It was a football by a spare. If you can remember, I'll be saying about Carlton, Carlton not making the eights. Now, if you can remember the bet, I will pay.
Starting point is 00:27:36 This is ridiculous. I mean, come on. Are you that short at the moment? What if we take an installment, What if we take an installment? What if we take an installment? What, you want a glass poured out? I know, I ain't going over the bottle, but you just pay the can, could put the interest and by the time it's paid in full, I'll give it to you. Aaron, have a think.
Starting point is 00:27:56 You've got a week. Have a think. Is there a way that he big can he just searches emails and finds this? No, because I wrote it down in my notes as I do for every single bit of my notes. Oh, great. This is not an email. It's not an email. I wrote it down in my notes as I do for every single bet. Oh, great. This is not an email. It's not an email.
Starting point is 00:28:08 I write it down my notes for every bet I make. Andy's got like a social bookie folder. Yep. Well, Jack, you've got the password to the boys of cancer, huh? I actually, if you can phone a friend, I think I remember the bet. Oh, Hylia. What?
Starting point is 00:28:21 Hylia, this is huge. Would you allow Jack to come in for half a bottle of grains Jack I'll give you the cork. Munch on the cork. I'll take a glass of it. He'll you do it for a glass. He'll you but the thing is he would have been in the room. I've got actually as soon as you saidton, I think I remember what that is. As your lawyer, I strenuously urge you to maybe take this deal and let Jack
Starting point is 00:28:50 shoot your shot. Hang on, let me have another phone of friends as well, then. I'll start with Jack. You can, you can guess it for as many times you want over the next week. Oh, is it Rumble Stills? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just keep guessing. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Until he gets it right. Yeah. Because that obscure. I think so. Okay, Jack, then shoot your shot and if you get this mate, you've got... Actually, let's make it like a Bitcoin password.
Starting point is 00:29:11 I think it's got a 10, you've got 10 guesses. You got 10 guesses. Will you let Jack now guess for you? Don't stuff this up, Jack. Yes, I will. Don't stuff it up, Jack. I think the bet was, Carlton will finish higher than Estonin on the latter at the end of the 2017 season.
Starting point is 00:29:30 Oh, good guess, Jeff. That's it, isn't it? It's very good guess, but it's not right. But boy, no, I'm trying to remain. No, you... He's at the reverse of that. No, it can't be.
Starting point is 00:29:43 I'm trying to remain. Yeah, he tries to the reverse of that. No, he can't try his remaining. He tries remaining. You're in the world, but don't keep wasting your tries, Guy. No, I'm not. I'll just tell you, is it Melbourne? He can't hide the Melbourne. Seven tries. Seven tries, man.
Starting point is 00:29:57 I'm not firing you, man. You're never going to have to do this. Don't get me. Don't get me. Don't get me. But I got you closer. I got you closer. I got you closer. I got you closer.
Starting point is 00:30:06 I got you closer. Do you want another few shots before you hang up while you're just getting, finding your range? No, I tell you how this sort of stuff works. When you do win, there has to be some sort of compensation. Now, what if I lower a glance in the range? Let's say, I'll take 500 bucks. You wanted the cash out?
Starting point is 00:30:24 The cash out. You wanted the cash out? I don't know if that's how we'll take 500 bucks. He wants the cash out. Cash out. Cash out. He wants the cash out. I don't know if that's how Andy's note system works. I like to stuff. Just talking about the cash out price here. It's $97. You can take it. Andy's already won.
Starting point is 00:30:36 You can't find him in the area. You see a cash out for low off. Let's go find the ticket, mate. That's not something that happens in real world. you see it casket for low I'm the ticket mate. It's not something that happens in real world. You've got forms with those tickets at the TAB. I lost my ticket at this day, put in the EBT. What was the best? I know the
Starting point is 00:30:55 bit. But I don't know the best. You don't know the bet. If you know the better, if you know the better the TAB, you get your money back. And that's exactly the canundrum you find yourself in. Okay. Gamble responsibly everybody.
Starting point is 00:31:07 Gamble responsibly of course. And that's why you maybe do it through an official channel because we can see how messy it can get between friends. As it stands, you've got seven guesses remaining. Feel free to text any through. And I'll just keep counting them down Aaron. And you can cash out now for $97, Hilly, but I suspect that number will plummet
Starting point is 00:31:24 as the guests is remaining shrink and Andy gets more and more excited about holding onto the bottle. I mean surely the viewers will not be happy with this. They will not be happy with how tight you are, eh? More listeners, but anyway, the, uh, H, H, great to chat. $97, see you, bud. Good luck, Dylan. I'm going to be a little bit more of a guy. I'm going to be a little bit more of a guy.
Starting point is 00:31:50 Hey, it's time for this. I should point out huge applause to the Goggle Box couple. I think it's Mother Daughter that have their power moves book on their table as they watch Goggle box. A nationwide power move. A nationwide power move. I'm feel bad that I don't know their names, but I'll endeavor to learn them. I'm very proud of them. I shan't for rub it in by saying their names in front of you. I can handle it. Go for it. No way.
Starting point is 00:32:27 Not as hard as I'm going to rub it in. No. No. I think you've got things going on. You're actually quite... Why don't I leave the rubbing in? Why don't I leave the room? You can tell Jack their exact names.
Starting point is 00:32:36 I think we do need to press on because the old Shotclox winding down. And we certainly don't want to run out of time for the end. No, no. Shotclox. But just as a mateship move, there'll be no rubbing from me. I was like, I'll cheer back. Thanks buddy.
Starting point is 00:32:49 Okay, power move from Peter Hunt, him. Oh, hey guys, I've got a pregnancy based power move. Funt would be his nickname. Yes, Funt. A pregnancy based power move, this is from Peter, so I'm sure it's not the he's pregnant. And when anyone- Which would be a power move.
Starting point is 00:33:08 If when your wife gets pregnant, you get break, completely destroy all medical knowledge and evolutionary facts of our species by also getting pregnant as a male. BAM! BAM! When you've got, when anyone informs you that a mutual acquaintance is expecting a baby, simply reply, oh, they're telling people now. It gives the impression even though it's good to use it. New news to you just then, that you knew the whole time.
Starting point is 00:33:38 You knew. You knew before the 12 weeks. Thank you, L.A. You got in, you got in that special window. Really like it, Peter from UK. Ando. Where this comes in from, Jack. Jack also from the UK, there you go, Fox and Bot.
Starting point is 00:33:55 When you're in a fairly large group chat and someone you don't know to, well, asks the question, if you know the answer, message them with it privately, not on the group. The victim comes away feeling that you don't want to be seen by others engaging with them. Ah! Ah!
Starting point is 00:34:10 Ah! Ah! Ah! It's gonna... That sound would work actually. I've just said them. Yeah, it's a complete... Because when I was reading, I was like,
Starting point is 00:34:19 oh, this is gonna make you look powerful of the group. No, it's a real dig at them. Like, Jonathan, him, power move in an icebreaker situation. So new people coming in. When doing icebreakers, breakers with new people, if you meet someone and say to them, if you could change anything about yourself, apart from the obvious, what would you mean? Oh, my God! Good icebreaker. Without the effect of the obvious, it's such a funny selection as the question to be the icebreaker. Of all the possible questions you could ask someone.
Starting point is 00:35:03 Let's start with improvements. Where would we fix this? Where would we begin? Where would we begin? You have to find it. You can only pick one. As a fun game, you can only pick one. That's the hard bit.
Starting point is 00:35:18 What would you improve? Ando, this comes through from Luke, from the Blue Mountains, is when someone else is setting the table for a group, stop them and specifically ask for two servicats for someone else. Not only does it show you consider it, but it makes it seem like that other person is a messy baby. Oh, is that fam? Yeah. You'll need two servicats.
Starting point is 00:35:41 You'll need two servicats. I like it. Dave Jenkins. Oh, is that fam? You'll need two sir. You'll need two sirs. I like it. Dave Jenkins, a Hoi Jents, little power move for you. When you're away on a work trip with a few, it needs to be a bunch of guys, but there's an odd number of you. It's certain that someone will get a room to this themselves because normally on
Starting point is 00:36:05 work trips they get pitted. I get teamed up. When we realize this and they're making the decision instantly say, oh, I'm a terrible sondora and I sleep talk and I also sleepwalk that way you'll end up with the room by yourself. It's good. It's good. You've been given a room with me, and it is well known that I honk. You can time to time. So he knows all about your honking. She does. She's my frequent roommate, but every night before we're going to bed, asks for a reception if there's a chance for a solar room.
Starting point is 00:36:41 He's told no, she's just still doubles, unfortunately. And this comes in from Brennan. Just on that, though, will we be a point in your life because we know what it might be. I'm actually very good now, post surgery. Okay, good, because there's one of our mates. I believe we say the problem now is that he's dead. He's dead gets sent to another room now.
Starting point is 00:37:01 Oh, a lot of people do it. I'll go to the spare room if I have to get up early. I'm a big fan of the spare room, so if you're going to get up early, you don't make so. Yeah, but I love throwing a little, it's like a little mini holiday in your own house. Yeah, you use it sparingly, but it's good fun. It's not to be frowned upon at all. I salute any couple that does it.
Starting point is 00:37:19 But my, just while we're deviating for a second, I had the surgery on my nose to straighten it up and crack out the sinuses and stuff. Because it was a deviated, we've deviated the topic for a deviated symptom. But I also had my sinuses and like my voice changed, I'm used to it now, my voice just changed quite a bit. Yeah. Because I've got a huge, I've got like the opera house behind my sinuses now, like the cavity is huge. It's enormous. Yeah, exactly. And the weave and the stow away in there one day. Yeah, we did. The border control is always searching it because it's like a false cavity.
Starting point is 00:37:53 But the airflow now that I can get through my nose is so powerful that the snoring's not the issue. It's the turbine like wind coming in and out of the nose as I breathe. Great on a hot night for zoe, he's just a breeze going across. She wouldn't agree. In fact, it's got to the point where quite often in bed she'll go, listen to me. Nothing, that's how you meant to breathe. And you can listen to you. And then she got to the point where
Starting point is 00:38:21 she woke me up at three in the morning and said, can you hear how loud you're breathing? I said, well, no, I was fast asleep. She just called the surgeon. I said, what are you made of? I can't add it. She goes, can you undo it? Really? I don't think you can put stuff back in once you've played that stuff when you're checking
Starting point is 00:38:37 on that. I don't want it. I said, I don't want it because why not? Because I can breathe now. I can't breathe. I'm not. My exercise is easier. No, it breathe now. I can't breathe. I can't breathe. I'm so much better. My exercise is easier.
Starting point is 00:38:47 No, it's not a thing. It's not even X. I couldn't breathe through my nose. I couldn't lie in bed and breathe. And I enjoy it. Yeah. Anyway, Phil on, we're not deaf ears, but it fell on an unwilling ears.
Starting point is 00:39:00 Yes. An unhappy ears. Anyway, so two joys. Pond King was, you can pack your nose or she could pack her ears. I'd love to do the latter. Since we're packing, you've been nominating body parts to be packed. Last one. And the last one, this is a cracker. It's a bear is it comes in from Brennan Airport based. Right. Now Brennan, Brennan flags this by saying, look, I haven't done this.
Starting point is 00:39:25 I'm just the messenger. Next time you're traveling via the airport, fill an empty shampoo bottle with yogurt or some other edible substance of similar viscosity. Once the airport security scans the bottle and says that you cannot take the liquid on, rather than discover the bottle, take the lid off and scull the contents.
Starting point is 00:39:43 Oh! Oh! Oh! Because he could be bumped from the flight. He might even be questioned by police. I don't know. I don't work at an airport. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha Hey, we should point out that our other podcast, the Remembering Project, if you missed season one, you can go back in and what, listen to these ones at any time, and in any order, to be honest, unlike this podcast, we prefer, we think it's best consumed from number one and then straight through.
Starting point is 00:40:20 It makes a lot more sense to do, to consume this podcast in order. And behind the remembering project, it's the new season. It's going to drop next Monday. They're going to come out every Monday, for the next 20 weeks, we've got 20 episodes where you and I just basically pick a date. Yep. And look at the run sheets from the 15 to 20 years of broadcasting we've done and something spikes our interest off the run. Yeah, basically, see if we did a show on those days
Starting point is 00:40:48 enough and we've done six or seven across the years on whatever the date might happen to be. And the run sheet is the thing you have in radio where before the show, you kind of write down, it's at one sentence per talk break of what you might be chatting about. And then we just kept them, you keep them for archiving or prosperity,
Starting point is 00:41:05 just to keep a record of what happened on the show. So when we realized we had all those, it's very interesting to look back at the runchets across the year and go, what are we on about that day? And you see some cracking days? Yep. And you see some absolute filler,
Starting point is 00:41:18 some real bean shoots in the noodles. Every two. Sometimes we basically talk about A, what happened on here, but mostly what was going on behind the scenes of what would seem to be a well-or-radio machine, but it's quite often the opposite. When we were looking for a particular thing that came up, which was an elevator prank, we played on everyone in the office that got us in trouble at the time, when we were looking for that video, which we know has since been destroyed
Starting point is 00:41:46 because of the reasons to do with the fact that we got in trouble. And you will find out if you do listen to the Remembrance Project. We found another elevator based prank we played with using the security cameras in the building. And- Well, for that all about this, it was after we came back from South America, I believe,
Starting point is 00:42:05 where we'd been doing gap year. Right. So this is probably sort of seven years ago or something like that. And it had been a thing we just sort of learned as you do on your travels across the world with learnt culturally, much more common for two guys to kiss on the lips, hello, goodbye Yes. In South American countries. I think that's where this story came from, isn't it? And we're like, oh, goodbye. Yes. In South American countries.
Starting point is 00:42:25 I think that's where this story came from, isn't it? And I'm like, oh, you don't see that every day in Australia, as just, you know, if the two guys aren't a couple, you don't see just, you know, two mates kiss goodbye on the lips, but we don't, maybe we can get this going. So what you're about to hear is the audio, it doesn't appear in the rendering project, it's just another video, if I will put the video up
Starting point is 00:42:43 at homestay.com because it's absolutely worth watching. Wonderful. But, Hayme, you and I got in the elevator. We waited for two others to get in. And then we were talking about lunch and I decided to go and get the lunch. Yep. And you, and then, and you left.
Starting point is 00:42:59 And you let me go. And before I leave, I give you, give each other a kiss on the lips. Matty kiss on the lips. And then which we choose to do over. Hanchenks, I mean, this is obviously, you know on the lips. Matey kiss on the lips. And then which we choose to do over. I mean, this is obviously, you know, many years ago, pre-coronate. And, uh, Hayme, this is the audio of me leaving
Starting point is 00:43:13 and then you left to chat with the small talk of two of our fellow employees in the elevator having seen what they just saw. What about noodles? Yeah, noodles are great idea. Yeah. Alright, well I'll go grab that and meet you back at the... Do you make a thing?
Starting point is 00:43:29 Yeah, no worries. That's nice. We've been working together for a very long time. Are you up to the... I'm Agnisting mode. Yeah, cool. Yeah, cool. Sleeping, cool down our studio. Yeah, well, it's a, right? Yeah, cool. Yeah, cool. So if you can call down our studio.
Starting point is 00:43:45 Yeah, well, it's a... It's cooking in there. Yeah, right. Yeah, I don't even want to. Yeah. See ya, boy. See ya. It's been hot.
Starting point is 00:43:57 It's been hot, but we're actually having the system replaced. Yeah. It's been a little bit more on there. But everything else needs to be fine. That's cool. That's cool. Join us on the weekend. No, I'm not even signing.
Starting point is 00:44:06 Yeah. Just great. I mean, my favorite bit is it. The vision is so much better than the audience. The audio is good. The air conditioning guy, after we say, I can't match the leather, bit of a kiss, because that's nice.
Starting point is 00:44:20 Just like, he's like, mostly just going,, God, you bit felt like he had to come at. Yes, there you go. And then Rory who were working with wanted to talk about anything but straight away, he goes straight into, yep, hamishdanny.com, we'll put the video up there also on our pipes, but also the remembering project. It's out on Monday, and of course we're back next Thursday with the next pod. How about... you
