Starting point is 00:00:00 A list-nuff production. Activate your internet. Cos the Hamish and the Podcast starts in 3, 2, sorry, still buffering. 1. A hoi-dew for 2022, Hamish Blake. A hoi-and-o. And a hoi-dew jacko. A hoi to you for 2022, Hamish Blake! Ahoi and a... And ahoi to you, Jacko! Ahoi guys!
Starting point is 00:00:29 Lovely to be back. And uh... We're so... We're so... Actually, are we doing that at the Stil? Where you're going to the rear gunner and... And Jack's the... Rotor mechanic and then we have to guess...
Starting point is 00:00:39 Five of those! And we have to guess what vessel we're on. And in that case, it would be obviously a chinel, correct? Some sort of military helicopter. I'll do it for next week then. I just want to do... Well, try just to anyone. Like I'm a lifeguard, Jack's working reception.
Starting point is 00:00:54 OK. Cool. LAUGHTER Could be a beach. No reception at the beach. You're right. It would be nice. I'd love to get a beach of reception, Jack.
Starting point is 00:01:05 You've had a very high flying summer. Got him. From the board. Also, Ahoi to Sean Ham, who used the Hamish Nanny website to upload audio very, very, very important for summer. Ahoi, Hamish, Andy, and number six, Sean here from Utah, USA. Just checking in to self-report losing touch with the common man. Later today, my wife and I have an appointment at the hospital to deliver our third child,
Starting point is 00:01:32 Liam. If you know the American health care system that can be quite an expensive procedure to deliver a child, I know must be very nice to afford not only one but three kids. I'm going to have more kids than Andy has golf simulators. I'm hoping that the Hamish and Andy loyalty card is the card that the hospitals love as well. Sure they are not having any teething issues. Anyway, I'm having to pause this audio here and start the
Starting point is 00:01:59 difficult process of uploading it. Wow. Hoy boys, this is Liam Sean Sun. I was born 30 years ago today. I think I finally figured out how to help my dad upload this audio. Hope it's getting to you now. Just a bit of feedback. A WhatsApp system might have gone this two earlier. Cheers boys.
Starting point is 00:02:24 And do you know what? That's probably from an ancient civilization. Probably an Aztec. I... I... I want two generations of podcasts. Is there pleading with Andy? Well, I've already graved the system. Wouldn't it be nice to do instantaneously?
Starting point is 00:02:41 What, worried about the security of WhatsApp? That's... That's... Even though it's in New England, and crypto apparently, but I think the website is far more... Get websites and keep unhackable, as we've always said. Time, we wanted to start 2022 in the pod, with something we've learned over the government mandate
Starting point is 00:02:59 of break. Well, we didn't have much time, but as we, I mean, we spent most of it, we don't have borrower. And then you know, I spent most of it in high court challenges, try and get back on it. And we were looking good, sort of mid-Feb, and you know, had everyone working around the clock, you know, coffees, donuts, smokes, you know, me put that out not into it. And then, you know, by the time, you know, we just got rebuffed by the high court several times. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:27 It was almost time to come back on air anyway. Exactly. Couldn't beat the mandate. So the mandate stands, but I know we hated it. I hate it. I just want to try to go to the beach, but I hated it. Just just keep standing around. Just keep standing around.
Starting point is 00:03:40 Stop thinking about the legal case. But, um, Jacko, what do you learn about the book? Yeah, time to learn something over the break, Jack. Yes, as you know, my wife and I are expecting a baby later this week, maybe even by the time the podcast drops today, we'll have had the baby. But, wow, double drop. I've got a baby fact that I thought was pretty interesting,
Starting point is 00:03:58 interesting enough for you to retell if babies are the topic of a conversation in your own lives. They will be for you for many, many months. On what day do you think Australia had the single most amount of babies born? Right. So it's a baby volume, quite a volume of babies. Yep.
Starting point is 00:04:18 I think it's sort of like the dancing baby screensaver, a nation of it. September 17. No. It's going to be nine months after a fun day. Nine months after Kathy Freeman's run at the 2000 Olympics. You think that made everyone random? Excited, real dream moment, but I drank a lot. Yeah, but then who knows what happened after that? I mean, from memory, it was about seven o'clock at night, the run, you know, things progress. What, what, what is it? It was July 1, 2004, when the baby bonus came in in Australia. Oh, yeah, it's of course. And what is interesting about is there's actually used as proof that the expecting mother can subconsciously hold onto a baby for longer because they didn't
Starting point is 00:05:02 announce the baby bonus until March of the same year. So people were already pregnant. Wow. And on the day of July 1st, is the single most amount of babies we've had born in Australia. And the three days leading up to it is some of the lowest we've ever had.
Starting point is 00:05:16 So people were holding on until they got there. Right, facts. Money. The great unclenching as it's now. No. No. In medical circles. We had on the hundreds, which actually Hamish you're on next week.
Starting point is 00:05:30 I'd choose to say no. I'm on the TV show on channel one. But we had the, what do you reckon, the least day that we're babies have born on what day is the day before that? Was it the day before that? No, I thought the year. Oh, okay. Oh, Christmas to people will hold off. You spot it. Christmas day, because no doctors will do elective
Starting point is 00:05:51 surgery. So they can't book anything. You can't book any great people. And also people people like you know, like if you can't you know, the Jesus joke. Yeah, same birthday. So you just, you know, you're just fine. it. It's fine with it. But it's fine with it. Boxing day? The great unquenching. The second great unquenching. How do you like it?
Starting point is 00:06:10 How do you like it? Geez, I had a, I actually around fighting the mandate at a fairly action patch for some around. We moved house, as you know, over some of you sort of know a little bit of this story. Moved house over some. The night before we were moving house, right? So we're going from the rental we'd been in because we're renovating. I woke up to go outside to get my car
Starting point is 00:06:30 that I'd parked on the street to save a spot for the removal of this truck, and the car was not there. We had to be in rubbed. And they took without my permission, because that's a borrow. They took my car keys, which then allowed them to gain access to my car and then they stole it. So, bummer, that happens. Main thing is everybody, you know, they were in the house, so that was a bit scary, but everyone was fine. It was just a sort of a, it was just a, we laugh about it. We laugh about it, everyone. We don't laugh about it, but we certainly can have a gig.
Starting point is 00:07:03 Did you get the car? Was it run of the mill theft. Yeah, so the cops, they go, listen, this happens, mate. Sorry, people are breaking into houses. They just look for handbags and keys and then they nick the car. So they're giving me a bit of, like, it's kind of, it might be kids. It could just be someone that uses it for another crime, like, sorry. And bummer, you're trying to move house and there's a forensics team there and all that
Starting point is 00:07:24 sort of stuff. So I said, yeah, no worries. we'll give you the report. You'll call your insurance campaign Your log it and so no, okay great. I said hey on my car There's a thing it comes with an app and where you can like see you you'd have the same on your card jack a modern car Well, you can just see where it is like because you the temperature if the doors are, like you can just, it's just like connected to the Wi-Fi, whatever. And so like, hey guys, I know where it is. Like, sorry, I mean, I appreciate it. Like, oh, they're all trying to tell them on the phone. And they're like, you know what he meant?
Starting point is 00:07:56 You know what it's like. Yeah. I mean, I was like, I was like, I was like, yeah, it's like here. It's like five Ks away. You're like, oh my God, yes, we could get it.
Starting point is 00:08:10 Like so they're like kind of like the penny's dropping. Like, you know, we wouldn't ask a week and we can use the radio. We can use the radio. We're sort of in this club. We all have a match. Like we've took a note and we all kind of worked together. So anyway, I'm like, look, you know, maybe it's burnt out or something. Doesn't matter. They're giving me the details. I call the insurance company just to go, hey, listen, the car's been nicked. And the insurance company goes, right. And so they give
Starting point is 00:08:35 me my number plate. And I go, no, so that's my old car. This is the new, they're bought this a year ago, transferred the insurance. They went, er, we don't have to tell it details of the new car. You never got insurance for it. I went, no, no, you should. Oh no, no, no. You should. Yes, no, no, no, I definitely remember,
Starting point is 00:08:55 I definitely remember getting the car and certainly thinking rigorously about changing the insurance, and I'm sure I would have made the call. No, no, no, we don't have anything like that on file. And you know, it wouldn't be with another insurance company. So as I'm learning that this car is not insured, cops pop their head in the door and go, we got it. All good.
Starting point is 00:09:17 That is great. All good. Oh, cool. Played very cool just a bit of like, yeah, well, this isn't true at any moment. That's why of course that's why you're getting insurance for kids, you know, you never know what's gonna happen.
Starting point is 00:09:32 So only an absolute man. So probably my ultimate fast and loose. So I don't know what the learning is there, because actually technically the learning is, you're fine. Yeah. But I guess the real learning, the real learning is you're fine. Yeah. But I guess the real learning is, if you have the thought, do the call for the insurance registered, of course, registered, just not running the insurance corporate.
Starting point is 00:09:57 So yeah, quite a good fun. A sub-learning from that is it takes ages to get fingerprint dust off. And a few guys have had anything dust and for prints in your life. Real past, yeah, real past. Great learning. That's kind of the baby fact,
Starting point is 00:10:12 but that's a fingerprint dust fact. He is a, he's what I learned over the break. Great. And it came from something that podcast Mike told me, see you on the show. He sang a Green Day song and he's auditioned for a school choir. Right. Wow. From memory time and his life. I think you were with American idiot. American idiot. What a... No, he's going to be? Come here, podcast Mike. Mike, it's American Idiot. How tough it is.
Starting point is 00:10:45 On organ. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha because it's just suggesting that can't be the song. It was actually the, it was from the album American Idiot. The song is called Give Me Novercane. It's a bit more of a slow song. Right, more of an album track. Yeah, it's definitely a B site. Okay. This was for the school choir where you eventually, so obviously successfully achieved a half scholarship.
Starting point is 00:11:19 This was actually for the vocal ensemble, which was the audition in year 11 and 12. Okay, so you're're already on a scholarship. You're on a vocal scholarship and they made your audition. That's offensive isn't it? That's like making Brad Pitt audition for a movie. Hey, I'm BP. It's hot to me.
Starting point is 00:11:36 So they've already recognized you, lessons your school fees by half based on your vocal prowess and then they make your audition for the vocal ensemble. There were other boys at the school who were good singers but didn't have scholarships, so they had a right to audition to be in the vocal world. Do people know you're on a school? There's a reality show in this for sure. Choir wars.
Starting point is 00:11:59 So when you rocked into your audition, yeah, are you like thinking, this is just, you know, guys, I get paid for this shit. Hey, Mrs. Andrewsson on the organ hit it. I was pretty sure I'd get in. Yeah. I think it was a full amount. You know what? They couldn't not put you in either. I'm not saying you don't deserve the spot. No, I understand a little bit. Because it would look after you.
Starting point is 00:12:33 Yeah, they have to play you. They cannot play you on the list clogging up this. Have you used the salary cap on you? Yeah, they have to play you. What a terrible look for the scholarship system, if you don't, if you don't, yeah, get it out. Also, Mike, what, mate, mate, mate. Yeah, mate.
Starting point is 00:12:49 What did you get the scholarship? I was in grade five. So you were in grade 12. Pre-pubic. And then they still kept the scholarship all the way to year 12. Yeah, but you're singing would have been nicer, younger, I don't, I imagine. Some might say that. Yeah, I don't imagine. Some might say that. Yeah, I've not heard you now.
Starting point is 00:13:10 That's gonna make some people appreciate my current voice. But so you had an angelic soprano voice as a boy and then obviously the puberty wreaks its wicked ways with the male body and all sorts of squeaking and stuff happens. And did you take time out of the singing game during the transition? No, I sung every player at the school. Did anyone ever lose their scholarship? Go through puberty. So many people lost it. Wow. What was the review process like weekly? No, semesterly like re-orditions basically.
Starting point is 00:13:48 So you go into a room and the choir conductor would basically play you chords and you'd have to like sing the three notes in the chord just by hearing the chord and just sing and sight-read music and stuff like that. And it was really intimidating, like just you and this... Quite easy. Because you were going to have to... You were going to have to... You were going to have to... You were going to have to tell Mum and Dad...
Starting point is 00:14:11 Yeah, so it was actually B... And... And I thought it was C sharp, D sharp, E flat. So what was... So is this American idiot? It wasn't American, it was a shame. Give me no vacant. Give me no vacant, was that, edgy song too?
Starting point is 00:14:28 Was that off, was that off, was that your go-to? No, I just didn't know what song to audition. I didn't know that many songs. If you, if you, you didn't know any song to audition for the voice now, what song is it? Ah, bridge over troubled water. Do you know where? Original version or, like, you know, would you jazz it up a bit? Because it's Simon Garfunkel originally, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:14:55 Yeah, it's Simon Garfunkel. Or is it just art Garfunkel singing that? I'm not actually sure. Or just he bring... It's one of the rare songs where Garfunkel is allowed to shine. Well, okay. And would you do the instrumental? Actually, I think I'd do Sunday morning by Maroon 5.
Starting point is 00:15:10 That's a good song. I think I'd do that. I just thought about it a bit more. Okay, Mike, thank you very much. I'm just imagining that you're out on the stage going, when you're we're here. Sorry, actually, sorry. sorry oh it's why give us Sunday morning by moving five might quick take us out Sunday morning rain is falling no cheers
Starting point is 00:15:40 we actually get a house for you, Ms. Kola, shoot money back. I'm gonna ask you to skip it. So give Ms. Kola to you. Well, I might ask you to back pay a few semesters too. LAUGHTER Hey, you know me. Love my UFC. You really do, Andy, don't you? Not a Friday night goes by, we're not paper viewing. Yeah, band-in-wait, band-in-wait, paper-wait.
Starting point is 00:16:07 And head off. Whatever it might be. I'm up to date for it. Not true, but I do love watching the Fox Sports news. And occasionally, there's some big fight going on. It's not true, yeah. Yeah, that means I've been known to what you see for me. I've been, I've been a mad crazy fan,
Starting point is 00:16:27 but I've, I've, I've, I've, I've been known to what you see for me. I saw an interview with a, over the break with a, um, a, a, a, a UFC fighter from New Zealand. I might get his name incorrect, but Israel, Adesanya, I think he's name. You're quite a few. Quite big at the moment. What, what, what category were class? What weight division? No idea. If you have to guess, I'll feed's name. Quite big at the moment. What category were class?
Starting point is 00:16:45 What weight division? No idea. If you had to guess, he's body. Ooh, feather. Were you recording? Right, okay. I know he fought Bobby Knuckles. What?
Starting point is 00:16:56 Do you think Bobby? That's Australia's best UFC fighter. Is it? Yeah, really. Sorry, didn't mean to call you a county. Yeah. It did sound like some of the work to the circus. Right. And even Bobby Knuckles would acknowledge that.
Starting point is 00:17:12 I don't want another Andy McGannos situation here. So I think they're in whatever the primo class is. What's up? No, there's what do you mean primo class? I don't know. Whatever's the everyone's favorite. The everyone's favorite. Well, it depends on who their favorite fighter is. Well their favorite fighter is gonna say heavyweight, but I don't think they're heavy Most definitely he's he's he's thin. He's like an old jack post before he got onto the chicken and peanut butter
Starting point is 00:17:34 He's he's ranked them anyway In the upcoming fight he was gonna fight a guy called Rob Whitaker. Oh, that's Bobby Nuckles That is Bobby Nuckles That's what we know I know Rob Whitaker. I didn't know he's nickn's Bobby Knuckles. That is Bobby Knuckles. That's what we know. I know Rob Whitaker. I didn't know his nickname was Bobby Knuckles. I don't know if Rob Whitaker knows his nickname is Bobby Knuckles. I can check this out.
Starting point is 00:17:52 Oh, his first or strangers of it. Like, I can't find it. No, it. So I think the fight's been gone. Yeah. But in the lead-up to the fight, this is the interview that worried me for something Israel said. What do you make of Rob's lead in here? He says this, you've got this sort of an era of vulnerability to you these days.
Starting point is 00:18:14 I've always been vulnerable, I'm human. I've always been awful, my vulnerability is where my heart on my sleeve literally. So yeah. Geez. Where your heart on your sleeve literally. That is vulnerable. Especially because you're hard on your sleeve literally. That is honorable. Especially because you go topless in the ring. So you're going to leave you a heart in the chain room, which will be difficult for cardiovascular endurance.
Starting point is 00:18:35 I mean, it is a tough sport. To wear a aerobic fitness. And say if you were to talk about sleeve as in like just his arm, to where you're hard on your sleeve or your arm literally. It certainly should. It's He'll like that side. You'd show that side away. Yes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:48 So if you did have to wear your heart hand somewhere else on your body other than obviously perfectly encased by ribcage and loon, what do you think the best place for Israel to put his heart if he is going into another bout? I honestly think next to your balls is the size of his place. Because you used to protecting it. And you can't get, you could accidentally get you in the game. And it's illegal, it's illegal. It's illegal, yeah, that's better. And it'd be going through their mind,
Starting point is 00:19:13 the bit of going, well, I know if I do, what is it, is it a, is it a, you know, points violation? Because it'd be worth a kick. Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, Got him in the heart. Got him in the heart. It's such a better idea, because I was thinking like just lower back. But then if you feel the band. Ground and pound.
Starting point is 00:19:27 Oh, yeah. A lot of it's as soon as they grab your legs and as soon as the takedown happens, landing on your heart. What are you letting it hit some of the back of the head? Could you put these? What about you? No, I don't think so.
Starting point is 00:19:38 What about in the mouth? How big is the heart? Could you get it in the mouth? The brain. Don't bring it to your nose. Poor coach. What a harsh coach, Jack. I don't want to have my heart in my mouth. Don't bring three nose. I coach. What a harsh coach, Jack. I don't want to have my heart in my mouth.
Starting point is 00:19:49 But it's your nose, mate. Put your a tough guy. Well, it is a sum, quite heavily cheering the match. Some suggestions for Israel going forward for the next fight. Jack, 2022, hey. Great, yeah. And international flights are open. You know what it means, my friend? Really bustling, too.
Starting point is 00:20:17 You look at some of this guy tracking somewhere. You can't find a plan on the ground at the moment. I would say it's still not as popular overseas travel as it was in 2019. No, it's not about popularity. It was about, you have lost my Bitcoin, forgive it up to speed. How much of a Bitcoin was? It was a significant amount. It was like a point. No, it was, it was dust. Yeah, point one, point two, point two. It must be nice. Dust of a Bitcoin. That was about 10 grand. Well, when I, when I, when I, he first gave,
Starting point is 00:20:47 when I was first holding it for him, it was hardly worth anything now, because the meteoric rise of Bitcoin over the last three years, yes, it is valuable now. So it could be worth 10, 20 grand. Yeah. Dust. Wow.
Starting point is 00:21:02 And in the same. In the same way. In the same way. No, no, no, I know how is this guy going to be? But not just me, dust, completely lost it. I'm going to go and dump it. I'm very much in touch still. It was in touch all summer, and in touch today. Okay. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:21:17 So for people who just joined the class in New York, please price, pay now. Oh, dust. For people who just joined the class for the first time, dust. For people who are just joining the pub for the first time, welcome. But I said to you that because you lost my Bitcoin. I lost my own Bitcoin as well, so we don't feel sorry for you. I'm going down with the ship. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:35 Yeah. I would get a message you lose, Jack. Sorry. Just how much was in there? I lost a whole Bitcoin and I lost 30 Ethereum, which is like a baby version of Bitcoin. I like that. That's not dust. That's ground.
Starting point is 00:21:47 That's ground. No. I reckon 150 grand is on that. Behind that password that we don't know. 15 dusts. Oh, my God. Anyway, so I got a big ask. And as punishment for Jack not being able to get it, we did settle.
Starting point is 00:22:04 We sort of like legally settled, didn't we? Was it the start of last year? And then started. I think it was in 2020. I actually do think it was 2020. It seemed like it would only be months away. The deal was somehow arbitrarily pinned to flights, opening up outside of the Asia Pacific region. I think that was Jack, You're like offer your counteroffers. You knew New Zealand and Fiji might open up I didn't want to bubble with New Zealand had to be outside Oshihana You see even the even the the favor has nothing to do with international travel That was the timeline it was pegged to yes, and now it's willing to be back up people have been damning me and saying and obviously writing at Hamshan.com saying the big ass time and I've got a big ass.
Starting point is 00:22:46 I'm nervous. Jacko. Your baby arrives on Friday. This is a big ass. You can't have this. This is from Paul Stiltskin. I don't want the baby. Nothing like the keyn ordering a first born.
Starting point is 00:23:07 I love my name to be a must for names. Oh, come on. I'm flying around with names. You've more chance of getting the baby. No, no, I'm not a king. Not first name would be nice. You're not getting it. You're not getting this any. I've promised her that she can have her dad's name is the second name
Starting point is 00:23:28 Yeah, beautiful self-American name. He's not Andy's Gian Carlo. I like lovely Andy's nickname So at the moment he's got his middle name. Yeah, so it's gonna be one minute. I'm Gian Carlo Andy post Are you reckon which another one in there. Yeah. Okay. We're just another name in there. Wow. I really think you should run this for me again.
Starting point is 00:23:56 I like it because I was actually going to, knowing this was coming out, I was going to try and weasel out of it. But it's not as bad as I thought originally. Great. I already think a middle name's too posh, because I'm no middle name. And I like Jack Post. You don't have a middle name. No, I don't have a middle name.
Starting point is 00:24:11 And it's very efficient and I've never needed it. I always thought it was hitching. It's not anything funny like that. It's nothing. And I would preferably love the baby to have no middle name. Okay, Jack. Middle names don't meet anything. I can see the shock on your face, saying, like, you don't compute what I'm saying. But I mean, as a man that's married and has had to
Starting point is 00:24:30 children and been through the names election process, it's like I'm watching you playing with a uranium fuel line and you think it's a glow stick. And you're like, go, look what happens when I put it in my mouth. My cheeks glow. Isn't this a funny thing I've found? You don't know what you're playing with.
Starting point is 00:24:48 It's a hardly gonna be used. Like it would be on a child's weekend. You'll be on a child's night. I don't know why you're trying to talk about it. This is the only one here that's trying to defend. This is a health, this child. Yeah. What happens if one day the Bitcoin gets recovered?
Starting point is 00:25:05 So I was going to try and weasel out of it today with a suggestion of still trying to recover the Bitcoin. I know we've tried on the show multiple times to recover the password, but now I've got the best lead we have ever had in the past. Do you know what? I know it's a 15 word password or something. So it's 20, 24. 24 words.
Starting point is 00:25:27 There's trillions of possibilities. We are getting to the stage where it might have been faster. We just tried. 24 words. All combinations of an every known word. It's been going for this long. Yeah. Who have you got?
Starting point is 00:25:43 So this guy, Joe, you can bring yourself up on the zoo. Is he been listening to all of that? Joe, who's this? Joe, say, get A to the to Hamish and Andy, and then I'll explain who you are. How are you? Thanks for having me, Jack. Thanks for losing the Bitcoin so I can be on the show. Now, Joe, hundreds and hundreds of fans of the show over summer sent me your YouTube clip because you have put a YouTube clip
Starting point is 00:26:05 up where you rescue two million dollars worth of Bitcoin. I think I saw this guy. It's the same bit of hardware, a US special USB that stores cryptocurrency. I've got the exact same hardware and that's where my Bitcoin is lost. So if someone is ever going to hack it, it's Joe. Joe, so I still, you know, as someone that's coming late to the Bitcoin crypto party, you can store it. Some people saw on the cloud, some people just like it's on the blockchain and it's just in there. And then some people physically have it like on yeah, like a USB, they call it a physical wallet. Is that what that is?
Starting point is 00:26:40 Yeah. So there's, so there's a couple of different ways that the one that the jack had is a hardware wallet. So it basically is a piece of electronics that will store your cryptographic information. Can we say, Joe, you figured out a way to this actual specific pace of hardware, you cracked it. Correct. Yeah, so this particular type, and there's a saying where I come from in the hacker world,
Starting point is 00:27:06 everything is breakable. Nothing's 100% secure. It just depends on how much effort you want to put into actually breaking it. This particular hardware that you guys have is actually not based on any sort of secure electronic system. Like it's kind of a general purpose brain like you'd have in your toaster oven or like other sorts of low-end devices and the designer is that I did that on purpose but from our perspective there is minimal security in it and that's what I figured out how to how to defeat with some help you know from prior research how much money if you're a trade from people for people doing this well so when I did this first one was $2 million, and upon doing that, some friends of mine were like,
Starting point is 00:27:47 hey, we should make this into a business. So we've done a couple of other projects. I mean, there are hundreds and hundreds of people that contacted us that have lost cryptocurrency. So Jack don't feel so bad. Compared to some of the values that people have reached out to us about, this is like dust. What's that?
Starting point is 00:28:03 Like, you know? Really, it's like, 800s of millions of dollars have been lost. of reached out to us about this is like dust. What's the best? Like, you know. Really, it's like, hundreds of millions of dollars have been lost. I mean, thank you. I mean, thank you, A.U. Exist show and Well Done. And B.U. clearly seemed like a very ethical guy because the temptation for me would be
Starting point is 00:28:15 if someone's like, there's two million in there, you go in, you get it, you come out, you go, man, sorry, I just, I'm gonna find 80 grand. I mean, people, you know, people, people wonder about that every day. And it's like, I'm public, I just couldn't find any grand. I really couldn't find any grand. People wonder about that every day. And it's like, I'm public enough doing hacking. People can find where I live. I've been doing this my whole life.
Starting point is 00:28:32 Transparency is important in this industry, right? And especially with the real currency. So it's like, I'm not gonna run off with it. If I was a teenager and it was $100 million, that might be different, but now that I have a family and it's like, where's the limit of making it worth running off with someone's money? I don't think there is one. That's it.
Starting point is 00:28:51 Transparency is really your insurance here or our insurance and that's why it makes this secure. So do you think you can get the money back for Jack? Wait, Joe, Joe, before you answer that, before you answer that, could we ask, could I ask Andy, if you'd rather take the big ask, or would you rather have the money if it can be retrieved? Oh, a reverse big ask.
Starting point is 00:29:10 Oh. This is basically like saying, essentially, if we assume both of these things are possible, Jack, he is basically, this is like going, you can buy my sons' name for 10 grand. Yeah. Since Andy has my choice. I think I'll take that.
Starting point is 00:29:23 But no, that's right, because what if you can get it back? If you can get it back, that's 10 to 20 grand. Maybe that goes to you and your son. You put that in a little wallet for him. And but I'll take the name. But the other thing is I don't think you I had to think of the money back or I don't think you would do this either. Jack is so but that's my position on it. All right. The sad news is I did talk to Joe just before we started recording and I've done something wrong,
Starting point is 00:29:52 haven't I, it's not able to be hacked. Is that right, Joe? This is quite a lead up for such a sad response. Well, why don't you explain, explain to me what we did, what you did. So I can at least you have some backstory to why this is possibly a problem. So the Bitcoin's on the USB, right? And you get so many attempts at the password. I was getting sick of trying to pass word that I
Starting point is 00:30:15 thought, I'll just use backup 24 word phrase that I write down. That's where that 24 words come from. Wipe the whole device, ready to put the 24 words back in and jack it back up. And that's what I've lost. Or I don't have the right set of 24 words. So you intentionally erase the device and try to reset it up with the word. Yeah, so the device is now... Hang on, so, Jack, did you,
Starting point is 00:30:44 in your head, were you thinking, I have the 24 words in the other room? Yeah. I'll just go on Y-PET, do-do-do-do. Where were those 24 words? Essentially, yes. Yes.
Starting point is 00:30:55 I'll throw this key in the ocean because I've got the other key. Wow, look at that house key. I just put these scissors from late night shopping that can cut up keys. I'll cut up this house key because I know my other house keys in the other room I want to see how these scissors work essentially yes And now I want Joe to somehow break a window and still get into the house. I heard this a guy who can stitch penises back on Before I go to the hall, I'm gonna cut my off
Starting point is 00:31:21 You might have a better look right now This number is disconnected. What have I done? What have I done? So it's like, you could have your piece of paper, right? And if you lose that and you lose your hardware, of course the thought is that you would lose only one hot boat. So what I was hoping you'd say is even though of what the device clean that it's still in somewhere in
Starting point is 00:31:46 the memory is like wedged in a circuit somewhere is the information that you would extract. Well, that's the problem is so there are so there are vulnerabilities, right? Like how I had taken advantage of it to hack the device. But in the case of wiping the device completely when you when you did that, it's completely gone. There's no way to physically hack the device to get you when you did that it's completely gone there's no way to physically hack the device to get any secrets out of it. Okay we welcome to the world Andy
Starting point is 00:32:10 Post. You got to tell us if it's a first name now Jack he's got you thank you very much. He's taking the mile you got to stand up. And as we mentioned before, a bit of a bummer having the car stolen over summer. Yeah. But fine, got it back and nothing was really, actually nothing was touched in the car. So kind of an amazing, essentially from what I can gather, this guy stole the car to drive home. Like it was just a low payoff theft. Could be.
Starting point is 00:32:47 I mean, I just like, I don't know what happens from the case from you, but it's just like, I can't feel you like, what a, I mean, that just can't be worth it for whatever the ramifications are. Here's the thing, the nothing was touched in the car except, I may have loved using the car theft because this, having just before Christmas, I've used it the car theft. Because this happened just before Christmas.
Starting point is 00:33:06 I've used it several times over summer as a bit of a sneaky trick, where's those like, hey, do you have the receipt? Thank you for it. And I've lost something and I go, think the body guy, I think it was in the car. I think it was in the bag, the guy took from the car. Because I've invented this bag.
Starting point is 00:33:29 I've got to get everything you've ever needed in it. And so it's a bit of like, where's Rudy's water bottle? And I'm like, oh, that's the one I left at the park. I'm like, I think it was in the car bag. I think it was in the car bag. I think it was in the bag, the car's stolen. So then it has been a trick. That probably used three or four times. And how long do you think you've got of car bag. I think it was in the bag, the gun's stolen. So that has been a trick. That probably used three or four times.
Starting point is 00:33:45 And how long do you think you've got of car bags for the bag stuff? It's getting harder and harder because it's months ago now. And so it's going to be something that you wouldn't need. Because you've been getting switched in the meat. It wouldn't have needed for the last few months. Yeah, so if it's like, we're getting bigger and bigger like, it's suitcase. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:04 Yeah, where is the red suitcase? I think it was in the bag. I think it was in the bag. So the bag, I've loved the bag. The bag's been a magic invention. Right. Can I give you another great trick? I use the other night.
Starting point is 00:34:18 Just while I'm in the top of your tricks. I love it. I guess this is just me just doing an audit of some of my favorite tricks in the summer. We love a good not lying, you and I. And now that people that listen to the show for long, I guess this is just me just doing an audit of some of my favorite tricks in the summer. We love a good not lying, you and I. And now that people that listen to the show for a long time and know the not lying game is where you, you were essentially saying that, saying what you feel, like the common
Starting point is 00:34:36 example he uses, if you go to a restaurant, someone says you were dish and it was disgusting, how do you say it was disgusting whilst it's sounding like it wasn't. So he's just like, what did you think of the curry? Tell you what, when I came here tonight, I wasn't expecting that. That's good. You know, or who doesn't love a good curry? And I'm not referring to this one. We love the not lying game. And I had a great one. I just pre, you know, during summer, I just got bored and decided to do it. Just buy some impulse purchasing got the better of me. It was late at night. This is when the demon sneak into my brain. And I bought three pairs of sneakers. That was a sale. I did. I did. I did. I was having a sale and I was like, you know what?
Starting point is 00:35:19 I'm throwing out all my old shoes. Yep. Give him a charity. And I'm refreshing. I'm reef. 2020 new. He's gonna be a new new sneakers. Well, you're allowed to have shoes. Yep. Give him a charity and I'm refreshing. I'm re-physic 2020 new. He's gonna be a new of new sneakers. Well, you're allowed to have shoes. But no, it wasn't even must near. It was an irresponsible amount of shoes to buy. But can you find a probably what size I am? Yeah, I know I'm a 12. I never buy anything online. But if I come across something I like, like a shirt as well, I'm like, just give me heaps of them. Get five, get five, yeah. So I know shoes are the best because you get them, you know your size, you can't really
Starting point is 00:35:51 get a shoe wrong once you know your size. But I also know that is a lot to buy at once. And so does have a slide issue with me. I've just probably got a few too many shoes. It's just because we're, again, like, moved into the new place. There's a bit of a fire over wardrobe space. She doesn't and she has a point. She's like, she real estate is for me, not you, you were sneakers. You can you can use one tenth of the shoes you have. So I knew when the box from Adidas turned up in the house, there would be questions asked. Turn up the other day. This box turns up and I didn't really get
Starting point is 00:36:26 to get into septum, so she's taking it in from outside. She's just like, what's all this? She goes, what's this? From Matt and asked. I was like, I wonder if I can get out of this with a not lying here. I was like, oh yeah. I just did a thing with Adidas and they sent me shoes. Yeah. So I didn't take, yeah, so just, and she was, what thing?
Starting point is 00:36:53 Like, I'm going, I haven't heard about this. Like, and so I'm like, I don't know what I did. What I did the next thing, go, I was just an online thing. Like, just you, you wouldn't have, you wouldn't have, you wouldn't have seen it, just an online you wouldn't have, you wouldn't have seen it just an online thing. It's like for free shoes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:09 It's like, well, no. And then I was like, I've gotta go a bit on the offensive here. So I go, well, no, I'm not just doing it for any shoes. It was only because it was the shoes I liked. That's fine. That I agreed to do this. Like, that's actually the shoes I liked.
Starting point is 00:37:20 So I was like, all right. And you could have gone, it's not public either. It's just between me and the company. Yeah, yeah. So I tried to make it sound like, I'm like, all right. And you could have gone, it's not public either. It's just between me and the company. Yeah, yeah. So I tried to make it sound like, I'm like, it's not like they just said, I'll give you any else shoes. Like, once I saw it, the shoes I really want.
Starting point is 00:37:31 Yeah. That's why I agreed to do this thing. So I said, yep. And I was just like, all right, see, whatever, but yeah, we've like, yeah, we've like, definitely using those. Yeah, it's just a little thing I'm doing with this golf club.
Starting point is 00:37:47 And then I exchange, I get a round of golf. So, payment. What's the thing you're doing? I'm giving the money. We are all wearing crowns now, actually. Hamish isn't. We are all wearing crowns now, actually. Hey, Mish isn't. I didn't bring a crown in.
Starting point is 00:38:08 I forgot to bring a crown in, because we're doing the three wise men gift giving ceremony, because Jack, any moment now, you're about to become a father. We know it's a young boy, and we thought, hang on a sec, we're the youngest. The youngest, a boy can be. Yep. A very young boy, brand new boy, baby, human boy. Coming out and we thought, wouldn't it be nice? We set this challenge at the end of last year. We come back knowing that we're doing the first podcast back like days before the due date for your son.
Starting point is 00:38:39 We come back and we do the three wise men giving challenge, which is where we each bring a gift myself, Andy, and of course, podcast Mike being Three Wise Men bringing it to you, Joseph, for your baby, Jesus, Jesus, Andy, post. This is right, him. Obviously, we hope all three of us hope to get the best gift. But we had to make the gift. That was the condition.
Starting point is 00:39:04 I didn't know we had to make it, did we? Oh, here we go. Yeah, that was the whole thing. We were making you a gift. I'm making it. I've made it. I'm making it. If yours comes to the barcode. Oops.
Starting point is 00:39:17 Sorry, I didn't bring my crown, but I have a King William chocolate boost. Oh, great. That's music. It was the closest I could get it short notice. All right. They have a King William chocolate boost. Oh, great. That's music. Yeah, it was the closest I could get it short notice. All right, hit the music Jack. It was the last, he's lost his crown down his back. Okay, spilled a lot on the top. Okay, we've got to make, we had to make the gift.
Starting point is 00:39:37 Jack, do you remember it being make the gift? That was the chance. I thought it was to make it, yeah. So just so we didn't get re-gifted something that Andy got for Christmas and didn't want. Yeah, right, sorry. It was the last show of the year. That's okay.
Starting point is 00:39:51 Yeah, I mean, I set the challenge in because I think I had in my head like I've got my dear what I've been made. And maybe that was, that's why I remember it that way, but I mean, how do we want to do this? Well, I've been wise when I first got, I haven't made anything. Right.
Starting point is 00:40:06 But I have commissioned, Jack, a portrait, painting portrait of the three of you when you come out. You have to go sit there for three hours. Why can't I just use a photo? Well, it's just nicer if you're there in person as a bespoke. Otherwise, you just maybe you bought the photo. I want this to be unique. Jack, it's someone that's had two babies themselves.
Starting point is 00:40:29 Can I just tell you, when you have a newborn, that will be fine. They'll sit there for three hours, no worries. There should be no problems with this. I don't know. I thought Bianca and I will have the energy to take three hours out of our day. I see.
Starting point is 00:40:40 For whatever most common conversations you'll have as new parents is, what can we do today? We have to fill the day. We're so bored, we need to fill three hours. So, but now that we have to make it, I'll happily do the thing. And people will be the artist.
Starting point is 00:40:54 So that's beautiful. Yeah. That's beautiful. We'll sit for you for an hour. Done. Do you not care now? Okay. That's lovely.
Starting point is 00:41:04 Mike, how did you go? You get it now, I have with a newborn. I get it, you're sleeping clean hour? Okay. That's lovely. Mike, how did you go? You get an hour hair with a new board. Are you going to put a new board? I get it to sleep. I get it to sleep. Do it sleeping. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:12 I mean, you might get bored, but you. Well, you come to our house and chill. Yeah, great. I'm actually looking forward to that. That's a great gift. Thank you. Thank you. Very generous.
Starting point is 00:41:20 I've kind of gone a different route on this. I also don't remember that you had to make something yourself, but I called one of my friends yesterday to discuss and I had an idea and they said, don't you have to make it yourself? So they did remember that. So they remembered. I just didn't remember. So I had to change my idea at the last minute. So what I've actually done is I needed to come up with something that would increase in value as time goes on to give to your son so that as he grows up he ends up with an asset. So what I'm actually going to do is I'm officially launching an exclusive official Haymish and Andy merchandise piece. It's the Hay't you continue? Hey, Mission Andy, have a great life certificate.
Starting point is 00:42:06 The perfect gift for a newborn baby. This is great, Ma. And there are only 10 of these in existence. Listeners, if you're expecting a child, if you've recently had a child, be one of the nine other people. Jack obviously gets the first one. Be one of the nine other people in the universe to have one of Hay Mission Andes official have a great life certificates.
Starting point is 00:42:30 This is like a shithead FT. It's a certificate. It says just good. It says have a great life from all of us here at Hay Mission Andes. You give it to your kid as soon as they're born. It's a lovely event. It's a lovely event. And not a moment later.
Starting point is 00:42:44 As soon as they get, that should be, as the hand is reaching for food to give them the certificate. I actually think it's more valuable than most in FTSE. Because you can use this as a placement under your kid. It is well laminated. Well laminated. That is not.
Starting point is 00:42:57 So email the show. The first nine people to email will be the lucky nine people. But you have to have a kid. Well, if someone's having a kid and you want to give it to them, whatever you want to do, it's your asset. Do whatever you want to do. Now, do people have to buy it or? Nope, it's a hundred percent free.
Starting point is 00:43:12 And then the market just decides from me. Okay, and then it assumes. Because then what I thought is, why 10? I mean, it's immediately divided by 10. Yeah, like, I mean, save yourself the hazard, do three. If anything, Jack would get rid of it. but what I've realized is he'd sell in this
Starting point is 00:43:28 weekend. Here's the thing. Jack will be manipulating the secondary market in a minute. We hang up the headlines. People aren't stopping having babies, but there will only ever be 10 of these. Yeah. That's like what you've grown by said, invest in placemats and certificates. They're not making more of them right into the show.
Starting point is 00:43:46 The only thing they're not making anymore of, that's what you're saying. They will be signing all of them. OK. No, you've gone mad. Like, how much of this is a lovely gift, even though the Photoshop skills are really rudimentary. How much can I expect when he say 21 to resell this for?
Starting point is 00:44:02 I reckon by the time he's 21, he could sell it to a fan of the show for like $400,000. Remember, that's in $20, $53. So, on a 20, $43. So, you know, well, we might be all using water credits by the way. Yeah. Well, let's see.
Starting point is 00:44:20 Okay, follow that market closely. Okay. Jack, right into the show. Jack, you, I mean, what to get your special boy was going through my head? It's gotta be something. So I have to think of it. What were you gonna buy, Jack?
Starting point is 00:44:35 I bought him a frankincense deodorant and a myr toothpaste. As in the thrones. I brought the two things that aren't gold. Yeah. You didn't want to get in. Oh, you've seen what you've done. And what are you doing with those now?
Starting point is 00:44:48 They're in my bag if you want them. That's right. Something you didn't hear in the manger. Yeah, we also got you, like an amethyst, like if you want them, tinn out bags, it's not very good. There's no doubt Mary left the Franken's in the bar, and she would go, yep, I'd love this, great. Oh, that's great.
Starting point is 00:45:00 There's a way. What baby doesn't love a heavy incense. No, not very good. It's not very good. It's not very good. It's not very good. It's not very good. It's not very good. It's not very good. It's not very good. It's not very good. It's not very good. It's not very good. It's not very good.
Starting point is 00:45:10 It's not very good. It's not very good. It's not very good. It's not very good. It's not very good. It's not very good. It's not very good. It's not very good.
Starting point is 00:45:16 It's not very good. It's not very good. It's not very good. It's not very good. It's not very good. It's not very good. It's not very good. It's not very good.
Starting point is 00:45:23 It's not very good. It's not very good. It's not very good. It's not very good. It's not We do. It's not an alliance, it's an agreement, but it's a strong agreement. And the beard boys have been to a lot. So when I heard we were getting a new boy, the lineage continuing of beard boys, who your son will one day grow up to grow a luscious beard and join the ranks of beard boys.
Starting point is 00:45:43 I thought, what can I make this boy? Rather than everyone's gonna be knitting you booties and knitting you scarves and beanies and things, I learned how to knit over the summer. My mom helped me and I learned online and I've knitted your baby a beard. It's not perfect. But why is it white?
Starting point is 00:46:06 I only have white wool. Why is it white? It's now like a baby Santa. I'm actually not happy with this one. I'm gonna redo it in brown because the edges are a bit frayed and it's coming apart a bit. But that's, so this is not the finished product. Is there any evidence of you actually making it?
Starting point is 00:46:24 What do you mean? Well you say you make cakes, but you just get cakes delivered in your assemble. And is there any evidence that you actually... I can show you the receipts for the wall. No, no. Any video for the devu... Just do the needles are there.
Starting point is 00:46:39 Just do a line for us now. What's finished? It's finished off. No, it's not. The needles are still into it. So just do... No, no, that's... They're out off. No, it's not the needles are still into it So just do no, no, that's that's they're out there Jack Walls coming off here. Walls coming off here. It's Wall. Mm. Jack. Mm. The thought is what counts.
Starting point is 00:47:09 And I genuinely hang on. I'm still thinking, hang on, Jack. Here's what I promised you. Within the next two weeks, I'll have a beard knitted for your baby. I will knit him a proper beard. Well, you knit it. I will knit it. I don't get it.
Starting point is 00:47:24 I'm not painting. No, I will knit it, Jack. I'm going to knit your baby a beard. So he's a proper beer. Well, you knit it. I will knit it. I don't get it, I'm not painting. No, I will knit it, Jack. I'm gonna knit your baby a beard. So he's a beard boy. Right. And he's gonna be more beard like yours. He's a bit square there. Okay, just listen, mate.
Starting point is 00:47:34 Yeah. The prototype doesn't look that much like a beer. It's a worry. Full disclosure, I had planned to have the beard ready today for the big reveal. All some along, I just knew I was to get around to learning how to knit. I only started a few days ago, it's not easy. It's quite difficult to knit. I can knit a strip, but I have no idea how to make it into a beard shape.
Starting point is 00:47:55 I just need a few more days. So what do you do? You just bought a scarf and cut it up. I bought a cardigan and cut it up. I was hoping to get away with it. You spotted the chopsticks because they actually didn't... I went into the food court downstairs and there's one of the shops next down at the food court. And then I stole the chopsticks from the switch. But Jack, this is evidence of my intent to meet your baby a beer.
Starting point is 00:48:19 I wish they had a brown cardigan and I wouldn't have had to answer all the questions about why I was a white. Two weeks is so. Two weeks, you're getting a baby beard.
