May you were in Europe, right? I was in Europe. Yeah. How was that? You look super tan, Teg. You look like you've been in Europe. Yeah. Well, I've been in Colorado, hiking, biking and biking.

Yes. The truck. And diking might be a new shirt. And which of those three things has been your favorite? That's the dyking, I guess. Yeah, but I do love hiking. I'm about, I'm about to gear up for a very intense full day, 12-mile hike to ask them. Oh, my God, 12 miles.

Yeah, like over the river and through the wood, the same. switch back trails over boulders. Yeah, I'm about to do that. Wait, but why? Are you being forced to? It's a famous hike in Colorado. And yeah, I just, I, it's funny because I had told my friends who are going to do this with me. I was like, I was like, I'm so excited to work towards this hike.

And I just, I came up with this idea that we should all just pick a beautiful place in the world that has like a really cool long trek or hike. And we just travel there every year and we do it. I'm in. I know you want to ask him, but I'm in. But they were like, they were like, yeah, let's do it. And I was, I think I was texting with them. And then I was on a flight when I had this idea. And when I landed, my knee was killing me from the flight.

Yeah. I just thought, maybe I spoke too soon. If I can't, if I can't successfully fly three hours without my knee hurting me, maybe we should take baby steps. But actually, I've been in. in great shape and I'm feeling really good. I've been training by doing nearly 10 mile hikes. I can't conceptualize. Like, how long does that take 10 miles? Well, sometimes it's not all, it's not all together. It'll just be just keeping myself active and moving all day. Like, maybe I'll do

an hour hike, which is about, I don't know, two and a half or three miles. Wow. Maybe four mile. I really don't know. And then I'll hang out, grab lunch with my family, and then I'll go hike again. You're addicted, dude. Well, I'm trying to, it's weird. When you train for something, you don't fully do the thing that you're training for. You just do bits and pieces. And I've also been working out with a trainer a couple of days a week. Oh my Lord. Yeah. Nothing like my body is not going to look like May Martin,

but I'm just trying to work on my leg strength. You're just trying not to look like fortune. Don't talk about my friend like that. I'm trying to find a happy medium between May and fortune. Okay. You're tiny. I've fallen off it in a big way. In Italy, I was just drinking wine, eating pizza, pasta, ice cream every day.

That's what you do. You eat pasta. Oh, it was so good. Sorry, pasta. But I mean, what do they say? When in Rome, right? Yeah, exactly. What they do.

They say, dig. That is what they say. I say that when not in Rome. I got a tan. I was super tan when Fortune and I did our mini episode, but I will say that girls, maybe you can relate to this. I put on. makeup to do this and my makeup is too pale. Wait, to do what? Wait, do you have a lip taint? No lip taint,

but I put on some makeup to record the pot and it's like way paler than my tan. So there's a tan under them. You have makeup on right now. Hell yeah. Okay. Let's get up closer to the camera real quick. I can't see. I want to take so. I wanted to, because I swear I'm tanned under it. I got it. I've never had to buy a darker shade of makeup, but yeah. Wow. Maybe that's what I got to do. I've never had to buy makeup. You got to have a bit of concealer in the old cupboard and a lip taint. You know, I do have mascara. I have mascara. And I put it on when I have a special night when I'm going out.

But nobody notices. I don't put it on unless I have a glam person at my house for an event. Oh, okay. Yeah. People have given me, I, what do you call it again? Mascara. I maskera. It always goes bad because I.

Everyone else is being so funny. And I'm like, I didn't know what to do. And I just am so serious. They clearly wanted it or they would have told you otherwise.

And he's, you know, he's just, he's a he's a heavy hitter in the, you know, comedy. like I just was sitting there like quietly like I don't know I bet that was really funny don't you have four guesses like four things that you're from yeah I didn't know I didn't know you couldn't guess and just pretend like me confident your guess I didn't know I didn't know but the pressure must be so intense the music to do it's I think I got asked to do this I don't I would I think I would have been in the same boat as you I don't know. I mean, you seem like you have a lot of information. You and I thought about you both. You both seemed like you would do well in that. And I just, I just didn't. And that's fine. Yeah, the producer. Okay. Like be by your phone at this time. you're not allowed to like use your computer so like you know promise not to cheat basically wait it's just a promise don't go clink clink clink clink clink clink yeah that was a shock to me they were like don't an honor system

and I was like I promise not to Google and you're quink cling cling cling cling cling yeah exactly well I did think about it I was like this is for charity like what is the ethical like ethically should I get the you know should I cheat or not but I decided I'm not going to cheat like

yeah I would like Tom's is not a cheater. I want to do it for real. Because I wouldn't feel good if I had just like Googled it. You know, I wanted the story of like I saved the day or whatever. Yeah. And then I asked, I was like, you know, how many people end up using their lifeline? And she's like, everyone ends up using all their lifelines.

Oh my God, do you not use one lifeline thing? Did you forget about them? And she was like, there's a window, you know. So like it might be in these like couple hours. So I wait till the time. She texts me. She's like, be ready. Taking Peter on stage.

Like be ready to go. And I'm like sitting on my couch. It's like Saturday in the middle of the day. Adrenaline. And I like can't even do anything because I know this call is going to come. I start frantically like Googling like capitals of the United or capitals of the world. For sure. Yeah.

All of the list of the names of the president. I have no idea this is going. I've never heard this story, by the way. Like, I'm cramming in an insane way that makes no sense just of like, whatever the facts. Like, it could literally anything. The other thing they tell you is you only have 30 seconds. Oh, yeah, that's what stresses me out.

30 seconds is the total time for them to read you the question and answer it. So I just do everything I can. Laura's like, you just have to wait for the call. Like, just calm down. I'm sorry. My phone starts buzzing, and I, like, jump out of my chair. And it's a text, and it's like, they won't be needing you today. They're out.

Oh, no. What? I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. I haven't watched the episode. You thought you had the right answer. Wait, do we know?

Do we know if it aired for sure? It aired. It's aired tonight. Okay. It's airing tonight. Okay. Oh, boy. I'm so embarrassed.

I knew nothing. But, uh, But yeah, there was something, there was some question where we were like really, really sure that we were like, yeah, that makes the most sense. Of course it's that one. Oh, because do you play with a partner? Yeah, Pete and Pete. This is for charity. Pete and take it. And do you remember what that question was? Yeah, it was something about like dishware, like a kind of brand. Like do they, do they? do checkerboard or do they do this kind of design or do the and i and we were like oh it's for sure this other like it's bees in wait but you can only phone a friend and during one question i thought you can't you can't but they thought they were they thought they were right so they thought

they didn't yeah and so we were oh no i know and so we were like oh my gosh it's for sure this one and then only to find out it was the checkerboard print. And then when I talked to Stephanie, she goes, we have that stuff all over our house. We use that brand. That's our soap dispenser. That's the bottom. Remember this thing? And I'm like, oh my God, yes, I do recall that is all over our house. So that's very funny. Yeah. Anyway, well, I'm sure you did your best take, but I can't wait to see the question because my my question is would I have known the answer but it's that one it's that one yeah that I just said I don't know that I would have that doesn't sound familiar well and when I called Stephanie I go okay it was this question like how would we have known and she goes it's blah blah blah

brand and she goes we have that in our house I was like oh my god I wonder if I would do better at that show celebrity Jeopardy I did not enjoy because I didn't realize that how much anxiety I have trying to do the buzzer and competing against other people and the time. It like, speed element. My brain was like leaving my body every time you had to do the buzzer. And I was like, I hate this. Oh, my God. I always remember the one famous episode where that guy got down to the, he was at the final question and he had a phone a friend.

And so he was like, I'm going to call my dad. I forget what the question was, like British history or something. And his dad's like, hello. And he's like, okay, you've got 30 seconds all the clock. Go ahead. And he's like, dad, I just want to say hi, I'm about to win a million dollars. Because he knew the answer. He was just calling his dad.

It was great. And he really didn't know it? Yeah, he knew it. Oh, that's cute. I like that. Oh, and he won? Yeah. Oh, wow.

He just wanted to make a moment. And he did. Look at you talking about it all these years later. Still talking about it decades later. That's so great. Yeah. I would really enjoy being the host of something like that and just the smugness of just having none of the stress, you just get to be like,

are you sure about that? And you're acting like you would have known it? Yeah. Yeah. That would be really juicy. It's also confusing to be on a show like that because it's like my instinct is, I just wanted to hang out and talk to Pete and Jimmy. You know what I mean?

And it's like, yeah, I wanted to do bits. And it's like Pete Holmes is so good at doing like a really fast, crazy bit. You know what I mean? And it's like, I'm. I can't even think as fast as that guy. You need a minute. You need a minute. Yeah. I didn't realize when you said Pete that y'all were a team.

Now I get it. Yeah. I didn't get it either until like I didn't know what was happening. Yeah. Of course. But I just am so curious how they edit it because I truly was like, I don't have the line. Well, nothing will ever compare to your celebrity will of fortune.

Or when when. And what was it the exorcist? bike. Yes. Crashing my exorcist bike. That will be a legendary answer for the rest of time. What was the show that we were on? Oh, we were on after midnight. After midnight. Did we do well on that? No, but we got to taste. We were adorable and they honestly tried to get us back

like a few more times. Yeah, every other way. We got an end-rides. Yeah, but you're like, we're doing good to record this pod. We can't do that. But I do enjoy that TV shows and movies, like to have us all come on at the same time. As a group. Hey, I'm riding that.

I'm off hiking and dyken and biking, you know. I know. We get home already. We haven't been able to be handsome together. I know. I want to see. guys. It'll be fun to do an in-person for sure. My luggage got lost going to Italy and then my luggage just got lost again coming back from Just for Laughs. I've never lost luggage in my life and both times lost all my luggage. Did they get it back for you in Italy?

Yeah, it took a few days, but it was high drama because also. Some of the kids' suitcases were lost that they'd packed with their little stuffies and games. It was really cute and stuffies. Yeah. I have to show you guys, we made a zombie movie while I was away. That the kids, I casually was like, you guys, I'm writing a zombie show. You guys should play zombies. And then they privately all went off.

And I think they thought that I meant like, let's film a Netflix show on this vacation that you guys write. That's a zombie movie. But they'd never seen a zombie movie. and they wrote it and we filmed it really professionally. Like we made a shot list. I was doing it. They were taking it so seriously. And I was doing like cameras up sound speed rolling.

And they were like, I've never seen. They were never better behavior. They were so focused and professional. What are the ages? 8, 8 and 11. And then now they're like, when is this premiere on Netflix? Yeah. They're like when and they're like, are there bloopers?

I'm like, I don't know. What will our star meter be? Yeah, exactly. Yeah. There's a musical number in. that came out of nowhere. I love a zombie musical number. Yeah,

Amma brought me into a room was like, I wrote this song and it was from the perspective of a zombie and it was like, every day you wake up in the morning, hoping life will be a little more spooky. It was great. Oh, that's catchy.

And so, wait, you're currently writing a TV show? I'm developing a show for Netflix. Yeah, I probably shouldn't have said that, but it's like a zombie dromody. Oh, that's cool. Here we go, right back to number one. Yeah.

Yeah. Yeah. We'll see. We'll see if it gets me. It's exciting, you guys. I'm good. I'm doing good. Tell us.

So, girl, you've been promoting your show like crazy. You've been in the South a lot. Are you still on a press store right now? No, the press store ended. I was in New York. doing all the, you know, morning shows and things like that. We're in some suits. Nice, looking handsome.

Looking handsome. Then I went to hang with Ginge for the week. She started chemo, so we did that. And I'm going to go see her again in a week and a half. I'm going to drive her to Emory in Atlanta. And, yeah. Is that where she gets treatment in Atlanta? She is treatment in our local area, but there's a specialist at Emory.

So every like six months she checks in with him to make sure like what her local team is doing is what he would do. Great. Second, third opinions, those kind of things. Good to have. Yeah. Real good. But she's being, you know, being positive. Yeah, being real fun.

I'm trying to get her to come out to L.A. She was going to come actually this week, but the chemo, she couldn't do it. The doctor wants to see how she does with that. But I'm going to try to get her to L.A. Maybe later in August or early September. For how long of a stay? Could she do it in person recording with us? That's what I was just going to say, like, we don't really do that, but I would love to have ginger.

Yeah. Oh, I have so much show and I want to ask her. If you guys are in town, we can figure it out. She's just waiting to hear from her doctor when she can come. So soon as I know, I'll let y'all know. But that would be a trip. It would be really funny if she was like on the far end of the couch and we were just shooting and then randomly turned.

Yeah. Just revealed her. And yeah, revealed her and then went back to the three of us. I thought I heard you were going to say that it cut her off. So you totally sold the three of us and you just hear her voice. Yeah. Shot me and everyone soon. I think any option would be funny.

Seriously. Well, should we get to our question? Yeah, let's do it. It's a treat to have today's question asker, because I have a very small part in a movie that he's currently in. Our Asker is an actor and podcast host who starred as Nick in New Girl for seven seasons. He co-hosts the podcast, we're here to help with his friend Gareth Reynolds. And he currently has the number one movie on Apple called The Dink.

It's a pickleball movie that he stars in. And I have a little part in it where I grunt a lot. You're good for you. Like every time you're like, can you give us a taste of the grunt? Oh, that's good. No wonder you've got that. But like a lot of it.

Holy. And it's pretty fun because I play doubles partners with some, a guy and you don't know if we're lovers or siblings. That's good. Oh, I know. Anyway, today's question asker is Jake Johnson. Hey. A little handsome podcast.

I got a question. So Dan Ackrod used to say about John Belushi. He said when they met there was like this invisible glue that connected them through everything. He said, I don't know what that was. But as soon as I met him, there was like some glue that connected us. Probably adding some words there. But what do you think that is? What do you think that is that a thing that connects certain people that you meet somebody and you know,

oh, that person's going to be in my life and you meet somebody else who equally special, interest in person, but you just don't connect to it all. And they fade away and somebody else gives you a 10 year run of friendship. You guys think that that we've done this world before?

Do you think that everything happens for a reason? What do you think it is? What do you think that is that glue that connects certain people and and others? Okay. Look at us. I really like this. deep y'all you like this made is that what you said yeah i feel like there are so many possibilities it could just be like subconscious kind of pattern recognition like you've had a

similar influence on you in your life and so you're your birds of a feather but i like i'm into past life stuff or like soul groups you know like a bunch wait what's a soul group i don't really know, but there's one idea that, like, people are incarnated. I'm into soul groups. I'm into soul groups. What is that? I don't know. I don't know. But you know you're in when you're in. You know when you're in a soul group. Or just that like there are, there are types of people, you know. I've definitely met people before where I feel like I, the comfortability is there right away. Yeah. And you're, and it's like inexplicable. And so. Sometimes I am like, yeah, maybe I do believe in past lives because it feels like we know each other.

I know. And it could be someone from a totally different part of the world. And yeah, like I've really felt that too. Or some people that you even just know for a short time, but they're deeply ingrained in your heart and your soul. An impactful person at a certain time in your life. Yeah. Mm-hmm. I mean, things that always connect me to people are like.

trauma, like shared trauma. Trauma bonding. Trauma bonding. Beatles fans, Elliot Smith fans, like any sort of fandom where there's a commonality and it kind of says something about

maybe not Beatles, it's too broad, but when it's like a niche thing and that you're like, Beatles is like half the world. You know, it's like if you like Elvis Presley. Yeah, you're in my soul group. Sorry.

Elvis Presley. I mean, I know, that's so weird. Your brain went, what's the most famous person? Still Elvis. But both of you, I mean, we, like, we didn't know each other at all, but I feel like we felt like we'd get along. Yeah. You know.

Well, the chemistry with all of us was there, like, right away. Is that just gay? Absolutely nothing to base it on. I know. Like, gay is not enough. Is that just, yeah. Is this just us dyking and gay? By gay and queering?

But that can't be true because I meet lots of queer people that I do not connect with at all. Yeah. I think for myself with both of you, which I've said many times, is like, anytime I had a moment where I sat down and talked with either of you, I thought, oh, I might want to follow up with that again. Or, you know, maybe I should get lunch or coffee or something with that person. and yeah. You went for the podcast.

Yeah, I was like, you know what? It's a forced chat and having everyone in on it. I was thinking the other day that it might be fun to not even get a question one time. Maybe we could do this for another year anniversary if we make it to another April. But it might be interesting to just sit down, which we've done in ways, but the other day, for some reason, it crossed my mind that it might be interesting to talk about our dynamics and what maybe people are drawn to about our dynamics or, you know, I don't know. And have questions for each other, like after so long now, yeah, do we, because maybe we've,

have we ever asked questions on the pod? I mean, not formally, right? Just follow questions. Yeah. But I just think it's interesting. how people always comment on our dynamic and how it works and how they're drawn to the different personalities and age groups and places in our lives that we are. And yeah, it's just, it's endlessly fascinating to me what, like my sister-in-law listens to this show. And that always

confuses me. I'm like, why do you listen to this? I mean, she loves both of you. So it's not like she's just listening for me. But it's, I'm like, you do? And like my friend Megan, I'm like, I've known her since I was five. Why do you listen? Again, she loves both of you. We're entertaining.

I know, but I'm like, what if we send, we pick an episode and we somehow send it to like Astaire Perel or someone to analyze us in our, to listen and go, interesting. We didn't have to send us. The sex podcast, right? No, she could just do general relation, I think. Really? She does relationship. And she also analyzes work dynamics, you know.

It's just, it's relationship. We want to get to the nitty gritty with a stare. She used to be my celebrity crush. How the three of us can improve our sex life with each other? Yeah. There's a lot. We have to get started. There's a lot of work to be done there.

I have not come in years from you guys. Oh my God. What would happen if the three of us tried to hook up? I don't laugh too much. We could never. And then we throw Thomas in the mix as well. It's the four of us just giving it our best shot. I shouldn't even get undressed in front of y'all.

Now we turn the lights out. Like what if someone said, turn the lights out? What if someone said like it's like? it's life or death. You have to and you have to commit it. Oh, I would like to live. Yeah, I'd give it a whirl. I mean, even if I laugh through the whole thing and I was like, okay, I'll touch that. Oh my God. We will poke there. We'll poke here. Then we do a podcast processing. And then we did a quad snuggle. Then we said that to stare. Yeah. We'd do a quad spooning. We'd just be trying to get to that snuggle after, I think. Yeah, all we really care about is the snuggle.

And the cigarette. Hey. Was that good for you? It was good for you. It was good, but I love it. I don't know. I'm really trying to quit. So, back to the question.

Back to the question. I do think that it, you're also, it helps when you have some like common ground with somebody, like you have a similar way of looking at the world or your sense of humor is similar or your interest in line. a line. I mean, that can sometimes be the glue was like when I met Will when I met him

doing a movie like a couple years ago and I really liked him and he liked me but you know there wasn't much time to connect but other than like oh I like you and then when we did the Hawk the chemistry was just like there like right away and I think it was because

we looked at comedy very similar but we're also very similar humans in how we approach life and we're both cancers. I don't know if that has any astrology helps at all. I mean, everyone I've ever been in love with mostly has been born within the same like six week period. No. Yeah. Really?

Is that a thing? Mid-August sort of too, like November. Oh, interesting. Mid-August to November? Yeah. That's a chunk of time. I know. That's definitely more than six weeks.

But there's a lot of people within a really small window. There's like three months. Yeah, you're right. It's like 10 weeks. Six weeks is wild. Three months is a little bit like, okay. Yeah, you're right. That can happen.

You're like the last half of every year, I usually, that's where I fall for somebody. And that, yeah, I don't. It's so hard to, for me, I'm just so deeply drawn to somebody who makes me laugh or somebody that I really make laugh or together we do, whether it's a friendship or romantically. I don't need somebody that I'm with to be the funny one. but if we can really have a deep, deep belly laugh, I'm like, I'm all in. It's really what keeps me alive and keeps my friendships going, my relationships going. And it's wild. It's like, and I know I've mentioned it before the connection I had with Stephen Colbert.

I've done so much, so many talks. shows. The first time I sat down in his, in the seat at his desk, I was like, oh, oh, okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. This feels really good. And I had that with, with this guy that I used to be close with and collaborate creatively with. We both had that kind of like, hey, comedic dynamic, like a comfortable, like, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It was like, it's almost romantic. Like the love, the deep, deep, and maybe what you're saying with Will. It's like, man, I could just riff and talk and build on everything that we're doing, even if it's silent.

Like, it just feels so good and right. Yeah. Yeah, like I always knew where he was going with something. He always knew where I was going with something. It was like very simpatico. Yeah, there's nothing like that. It's just, I mean, I just love it. I love it so much. People that are authentically themselves, too. Like, definitely whenever I'm at like a, like a party or like an industry event or something and there's someone there who doesn't want to talk about that, like who wants to talk about weird stuff or like talk about, you know, something bizarre. I'm so grateful. It's like finding an oasis in the desert. It's like, oh, yeah. someone who can just like, yeah, see the absurdity.

Yeah. Would be authentically themselves? So that, would you say that's your number one thing, May, is like having what you? Like, people who are really themselves, maybe, and really, it's hard to put your finger on it, isn't it? It's so hard. What you're describing that, like, comedy dynamic, like, there's people who I fall into an immediate like, low status, high status, like fun game. I don't know that that's, that's

different to like some of my oldest friends, but I like people who, I have my friend Matt who lives in my back house will go to like a dinner party and we're having a great time. We're laughing. We're talking to everybody. And then we leave and getting the Uber to come home or whatever. And we're both like, time to be weird. And we're like the relief of just unmasking and just being our total weird selves and I do have a couple of like really good friends that we just share a very dark sense of humor together yeah yes and you can only do that with like certain friends that like understand that is cathartic yeah yeah I've like those couple friends you just like have never laughed harder oh my god it's the best those people it is the best when you you know you can

push something a little further with a certain group yeah You're like, oh boy, that's just between us. Yeah, where you're like, if people read this text thread, I would be fucked. Yeah. Or like my writing partner, Joe, who wrote Feel Good with me and we're writing this new show. If we're in like a work Zoom with producers and Netflix, like he'll text me something so obscene. And I have to be like hiding my face off the Zoom. And it's sort of a game trying to make each other laugh.

Yeah. It's a danger. You're playing with fire. It's a dangerous game. I found this weird connection in our baseball parent group. And I found this dad in our baseball parent group that I would never have guessed that he would be so funny. And he knows as much about baseball as I do, which is zero. Nothing.

Yeah. And we are the ongoing jokes of our. team because everybody's like, you know, well, maybe we'll just, maybe TIG and Matt should, you know, take it from here. Let's see what they have to say about it. And it's just, it's, it's just become this surprising connection where, oh my God, this random dad has become my friend and we make each other laugh really hard. And so I think that is what it always goes back to for me is like, I love, I love that connection. I love it so deeply.

And it's funny because like Jake actually, specifically, Stephanie worked on a project with him and she would come home being like, that guy's awesome. Yeah, he's really great. Yeah, she was like, he's just like, he's so interesting and curious and in it and passionate and like wants to talk about stuff. And they both connected on baseball and sports. And so it's funny that he's.

he's asking this when my wife just worked with him and really connected with him on baseball and stuff like that. Meanwhile, I'm off texting with my buddy Matt about not knowing anything. No knowledge of baseball. So many people are not fake, but they're just performing adulthood in this very like paint by numbers way. Like that's like so many people that you encounter in your day.

And it's like I used to notice in England the way everyone, would be like, hi, yeah, you're right? And it was like, can you say it a different way? Or like, I don't know, it was just like these wrote phrases. And so when you find someone who's just a little bit, well, I don't know, present and being weird, it's the best. That's the best. It's a little deeper. Yeah. Yeah. Doing the saying or the whatever it is that's popular and that everybody responds with and everyone's doing. And then somebody takes a curveball or turn And you're like, hey, where'd you go? That's interesting.

And especially in like customer service and stuff, because that's their job. Like people are, and so, you know, they're doing their thing. But when you meet someone who just says something a little odd or is funny with you, it's so nice. You're like, oh, we're alive. We're people. Right. Right.

Yeah. And it's so great as you get older in life when you do, like, find one of those connections because you're like, oh, okay, like I'm not dead inside. Yeah. I can still connect with people and have like special talks and stuff. Like there was an actor on Fubar in our second season. He was so lovely and we like would have fun on set. But then like near the end, like suddenly we just like have like the most earnest conversation with each other.

And I'm like I just met him. I don't know him that well. But like every time we check in now, we have. we have like you know he's like I'm here for you whenever whatever call me anytime yeah and you're just and he means it and you're like and I mean that to him too and it's just like so great when you like yeah as an older adult to be like oh I could still um have you know make good friends and have meaningful conversations yes there's a guy called kit in Toronto who I was in a short film with when I was 13 And we know each other for three days.

And when I see him, it's like we're siblings being reunited. We don't know each other. Like, all we know is that he played my brother and he had to spit in my face when I was 13. And we're like, hi, how are you? Like, still alive? I don't know. It's nice. Yeah.

I still call Garrett Dillahunt. And we still call each other brother and sister because we played siblings on the mini project. So I don't talk to him much, but he'll be like, hey, sis. That's so nice. That's great. I'm about to see tomorrow. I'm about to see my friend Megan, who I said listens to our podcast. I've known her since I was five.

Like, I can't wait to see her. We laugh a lot. She'll hear me saying this. I can't wait to see her. But she also thinks Stephanie is funnier than I do. And she's like, it'll be nice to see you. But I can't wait to sit with Stephanie. And, but yeah, I feel lucky for like the old, old.

connections that I still have with people that we still just were just right on track still. And we just sit up all night and we just laugh together. When your old friends love your partner too, that's great. Oh my God. I feel so lucky. I just watched a text thread go around with Stephanie and Max and Finn's godparents, who their godmother is one of my oldest and closest friends. and I'm, you know, I'm not even chiming in on that.

Yeah, yeah. I know it's my best friend, Andrea, she texted me yesterday. She's like, I just got off the phone with your mom. We talked for an hour and 20 minutes and laugh the whole time. And I was like, that's so sweet. That's who we met in Nashville? Yeah, that's who met in Nashville. We've been friends over 20 years.

And I'm like, that's, she's just like, I'm going to call your mom. And then they're like having this giddy, crazy laughing. fit for an hour and 20 minutes. It's so nice when you have that kind of... It's comforting. Yeah, that's really great. Yeah. Well, should we hear what Jake has to say? Yeah, I think we should. That's why we brought him into this circus. I think the glue is because we've been here before and we've done this. And I don't exactly know what that means. I don't know if it's all just one thing and it's all a memory.

or if there's a lesson or I don't have any answer and or even pitch at that madness. But I do feel like there are certain things that feel too connected when I met my wife for the first time. She was a bartender. And when I saw her, it just felt like, oh, there's my partner. And now 20 years later, I'm like, oh, it makes sense. I saw her then the way I see her now. but how could I have seen her then that way? So it might just be not,

but I believe the glue is with certain people could be done this. And when you re-see them here, you think like, oh, yeah, that's that person in my life. Mm-hmm. I agree with that. So romantic. Oh, my God.

I know. I love that. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, because it's like a complete stranger and you're just like, how do we have like so much to talk about out of nowhere? Yeah.

It is wild. It is wild. Yeah. It's wild. I bet if you zoom, if you, I don't know, because we only see such a small spectrum of light and stuff. Like we don't know anything that's going on. I bet if you could see everything going on, there's like, like a system of like magnets and wheels and cogs and we're all kind of it. Like, you know what I mean?

I bet there's some sort of sense to it. Like you're in a groove on a vinyl record player, you know. Oh, there goes the leaf blower. I wonder if I knew the leaf blower in a past life. I should go out and check. I didn't hear. Oh, oh, there. I thought you heard it.

It's always a random person that looks by right on this. Yeah. Yeah. Well, cool. Well, that was fun to dig into something like that. Uh-huh. Yes, indeed. I'm glad that our paths brought us together.

and I, you. And it's also interesting, like, with, you know, Jake even just like, oh, that's so interesting that that's how he sees the world. Like that, that's a fun insight on somebody. Totally. Yeah, yeah. That's kind of what I felt in that moment of, like, interesting. Okay.

But cool, yeah. Always a pleasure, my friends. Always a pleasure. Also, I wouldn't have. to say something really fast. Without getting into detail, I did have to cancel some, move some shows. I had to reschedule some shows, had a bit of a family emergency come up and everything is fine. And I just, you know, I just wanted to say that because it was right up to the last minute.

And I just so apologize to the people that went out of their way to, travel or bought tickets. And I was also, because I'm not on social media, I didn't post an explanation. But yeah, I just wanted to apologize because I know it's so inconvenient for people because things like our production schedules or family members' health or anything like that, you know, it does pop up. And so my deep, deep sincere apologies. And I'm sure I'm a few weeks late on this explanation for what happened. So I just wanted to acknowledge that. Yeah, it happens.

Yeah. It does happen. Yeah. It does happen. And it's, you know, when you're doing live shows and life happens. Yeah. It's, it's tough. It sucks.

I've had to do it too. You never want to do it. But sometimes it's inevitable, like, or unavoidable. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So it never happens unless we absolutely have to do it. And sometimes it's so last minute and it never feels good on our end.
