Starting point is 00:00:01 This is a headgum podcast. Checking Allstate First could save you hundreds on car insurance. That's smart. Not checking how to hang a curtain before I try to hang a curtain. Mistakes were made. Some Do-It Yourself jobs can quickly turn into hire someone else jobs. Yeah, checking first is smart. So check Allstate first for a quote that could save you hundreds. You're in good hands with Allstate. Potential savings vary subject to terms, conditions, and availability. Allstate. North American Insurance Company and Affiliates, Northbrook, Illinois.
Starting point is 00:00:36 Hadsome Pot. Chatting to friends on the Handsome Pot. Pretty little episode. Hello. Hello. Hi, Fortunes TIG. How are you? I'm great.
Starting point is 00:00:57 You look good. Do you want to introduce everyone? Yeah, this is the Joe Rogan experience. Is that what his show is called the Joe Rogan experience? I believe so, yeah. Okay, yeah. So that's a real curve ball. People didn't realize they were subscribed.
Starting point is 00:01:18 It's so like an NPR show. Hello. Well, welcome. Welcome. That's right. Hi. We're just hanging out. Do you want me to say, welcome to the Hands of Pod's pre little episode.
Starting point is 00:01:31 Oh, yes, that's what we were missing. That's TIG over there. That's Fortune over there. What if Joe Rogan had pretty little episodes? All of a sudden. Yeah, I don't think his listeners would be into pretty little episodes. I don't think so. No, I don't either.
Starting point is 00:01:48 Where are you? Are you home? I'm home in L.A. Yeah, this was a rare weekend at home, but I was filming right now. Oh, how's that going? It's going really good. Good. It's a whirling derby.
Starting point is 00:02:01 because it's a big movie that they're doing in two months. And the four of us are in like almost every scene. So it's every day it's just like so many pages and lots of it's one of the few projects I've had where there's very little downtime. You know, normally in movies you're like sitting around forever and waiting on things to get set up and lights. This one moves. Yeah. Well, you're one of the stars. of it, right?
Starting point is 00:02:32 So that would make you busier. That's true. Yeah. That too. Yeah. But also our director is Eva Longoria. Mm-hmm. And she is very, very prepared.
Starting point is 00:02:46 Yeah. And like very, like she knows exactly what she wants. Exactly, yeah. So that's really nice. Yeah. Well, cool. It's a lot of girl power. Yes.
Starting point is 00:03:00 You got to have that. You can't make movies without girl power. That's right. Well, it's funny because the golf show I just did was a lot of dudes. Sure. So it was very man heavy. And this one's a lot of ladies. Mad power.
Starting point is 00:03:16 Kim gave us some skin care. I thought you looked good. Thank you. Some skincare machines for our pretty skin and some skims loungewear. So, you know, I'm just, I'm being my most pretty little lady self on this shoot than I ever have. And what are face machines? Like, you remember my vibrator for my face? Fortune.
Starting point is 00:03:43 Fortune. It's like something like this, but way more high tech. Okay. And it's got lights and things and you put it on your face. Did you show that to Kim? And was she like, girl, no. No, she didn't even know I had anything. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:04:00 But she discovered this machine that she was really into. I mean, you know, there's all those. It's just like you roll your face with them. I don't know. You roll your face with them. I've got to actually YouTube how to use how to use this. Maybe Kim can do a YouTube video. She did tell us to let her know if we needed her to show us how to work it.
Starting point is 00:04:23 And I think it actually would be pretty hilarious to have her showing me how to use beauty care machines. And you didn't stop her and sit. You mean work it and then start working it? That's right. Wait, tell me, are you getting a question from Kim? I will work my way up to that. I'm still getting to nowhere. It sounds like no.
Starting point is 00:04:47 I don't like to ask right off the bat, you know? I like to work my way there. Ease into the sequel. Yeah, you're going to ask her for the sequel. Or the prequel. Is there a room for a prequel to this movie? Maybe, yeah. Okay, yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:05 There's a prequel to everything. There should be a handsome prequel. Ooh. Who would that be? Who would play us? Yeah, young version. There is a young version of me in this movie. It's kind of a trip.
Starting point is 00:05:18 Who is it? Anyone I know? No. Oh, how young? Young, like, I think like 15 or something maybe. That is adorable. I know. Yours would be someone who looks like you and Tom Cruise.
Starting point is 00:05:37 Yeah, who is that? Who are the young versions of the three of us? That's a really interesting. Would it be young Sheldon? For me? For me? Yeah. That is hilarious because the guy Ian who plays him,
Starting point is 00:05:57 His mother showed me a picture of Ian where everyone thought Ian looked like Tom Cruise. See? Wow, you're on to something. Okay, so wrong gender, but okay, so Ian and then... Just throw some glasses on. Also, by the way, it just dawned on me. It was the wrong gender. I was like, okay, yeah, Ian could play a young tick.
Starting point is 00:06:24 Okay, and then who is a young... You. I don't know. Who's a young May? A young May would be, I don't know who the young actors are right now. Could it be Thomas? Thomas without the stag.
Starting point is 00:06:42 I know that's... We need someone younger. Because this would be like, what, early 20s, late teens? Or maybe we get a male handsome. Yeah. Whatever. We can figure this out later. Mine would be chunk from the goonies.
Starting point is 00:07:00 Thomas could be a young me since he has the mustache. That's true. Do rock a good fake mustache? It's not fake fortune. Have you been touring a lot? No, I had to unfortunately reschedule a bunch of shows because of this movie. But you've been touring on the weekends. I did do a weekend of shows, Valentine's,
Starting point is 00:07:25 weekend because those they the movie gave me the okay to do those yeah and then i'll do san diego in early march because i can drive down there but then my tour will resume the beginning of april love it and then i'll be on the path to trying to get ready to film another special like late fall okay and then i'm going to be recovering hopefully from my eyelid surgery That's right. Right after the Oscars and all of that, I'll be taking several weeks off. I mean, you know, hopefully I can do things like podcast, but I'm not going to be torn. Just wear sunglasses.
Starting point is 00:08:13 Yeah, yeah. We won't care. And real mustaches. That's right. Well, I love it. I love you too. Should we get into our questions? Let's do it.
Starting point is 00:08:24 Hi, Handsome Pod. My name's Corinne, and I'm from Houston, Texas. So last year was pretty rough for me and for a lot of people around me. So this year, I decided to start being more intentional about experiencing and creating joy every single day. A lot of my friends have asked for examples of ways to do this. So my question for each of you is, what are some ways that you intentionally bring joy into your life or some ways that you would like to? Karen, good question. It is definitely the time to try to wrangle up some joy, right? Mm-hmm. We need some joy wrangling. Well, I mean, last year was rough for me as well. So I get you, I get you, girl. I think for me, when I was really going through it, especially the earlier part of last year, I started to reconnect with, friends more. I started reaching out to people more. And that was really nice. That was a good way to like just stay connected and not isolate. And that helps me stay in a better mood. And I would also like if I was just had a lot of thoughts on my mind, we talked about a four. I would go find a bench somewhere like in a park. Sometimes I had my dog with me. That was really nice. So we would just sit
Starting point is 00:09:52 there, chilling and, you know, kind of people watching and just sort of like not on my phone, just sort of being and just trying to just appreciate things a little bit and not get too sucked into the thoughts of things not going well. Breakfast burritos helped. Love those. That's good. Mm-hmm. What about you today?
Starting point is 00:10:20 I mean, you know, I had a real awakening. I think when I was working on the documentary and I was living in Toronto and I was away from my family. I just started to really feel like, gosh, what am I choosing to do with my time here while I'm watching a friend one for every last second?
Starting point is 00:10:49 Right. And then how, and I know I've talked about it on the podcast, but how to find that balance of like working and doing these things I want to do. Yeah. But also really prioritizing my number one focus, which is Stephanie and the boys and our little kitty city. And so I think that, I mean, I hate to sound cheesy, but I can't pretend like it's anything other than this. But when I get to go hang out with Stephanie and the boys, and just taking a walk through our little village in our neighborhood and going to eat or the bookstore.
Starting point is 00:11:32 We also do reading time at the end of the day where everyone reads for like 15 minutes and then talks about what they read. Those little moments, I just am. And then I know I've talked about this, but even in the mornings when Stephanie and I have our coffee and then we take our morning walk together. Those are the things that I desperately missed when I was gone all the time. And the level of joy that those, and you know, funny enough in the documentary, Andrew has a poem called The Little Things, but that is what it is. It is those little tiny things that, like you're saying, sitting on a bench. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:17 Spending time with your dog or your mother or whoever it is, calling your friends. I really, you know, it's, that's what it is. Like utter joy, utter joy. And in those hangout moments, getting to experience our son's silliness, you know, Max does incredible impressions. And we all sit around and he does impersonations of friends of theirs, friends of ours, people from TV. and so that's just really, really fun to just sit and laugh and connect with everyone. Like, just the best. And a pile of kitties lying around. You know.
Starting point is 00:13:04 And a cute little Pomeranian. Yeah. Yeah. Checking Allstate First could save you hundreds on car insurance. That's smart. Not packing my headphones when I go on the road. Now I'm on the airplane unwillingly overhearing a conversation. about toenail fungus.
Starting point is 00:13:26 Yeah, checking first is smart. So check Allstate first for a quote that could save you hundreds. You're in good hands with Allstate. Potential savings vary, subject to terms, conditions, and availability. Allstate, North American Insurance Company and affiliates, Northbrook, Illinois. But, man, listen to or read Andrew's poem, The Little Things. I think it really puts some stuff in a perspective. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:50 Well, I think in general, too, like my mom being, getting sick right when my life was falling apart. Really put like all of that into perspective too. Yeah. I was like so sad for so long and just everything was just kind of like spiraling. And then she got sick like right at the same time my relationship was coming to an end. Yeah. And it just kind of put me in this other orbit.
Starting point is 00:14:17 Yeah. I was just like, okay, you got to, you only have so much time with people. Yeah. like let's let's not wallow in the bad stuff. Let's focus on time together and good things. Yeah. That stuff definitely puts things in perspective. Yeah, there's so many little celebratory moments you can have in your day-to-day that I highly recommend getting into.
Starting point is 00:14:49 Yeah. And also jams putting on some music. Also, jams, like grape jam. Also jams as in jellies. Yeah. Like use those. Shoulder shimmies for sure. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:03 Yeah. That's what we think. Does Corinne have an answer? Let's hear what Corinne said. Yeah. Every morning I have a mandatory five-minute dance party. I have committed to trying one brand new thing every month. And I have been documenting my journey of trying 50 new hot dogs, which is my favorite food. to share that joy with the world.
Starting point is 00:15:26 Okay, thanks. Love you all and love the podcast. 50 new hot dogs? 50 new hot dogs. I mean, how does she just casually say that? Like, we're going to just like, yeah, of course. You got to try 50 new hot dogs. I didn't know there were more than five hot dogs.
Starting point is 00:15:44 I mean, different places, I think. Whatever. I would assume you're buying the same five different hot dogs at different restaurants. They're just making them different. I like this as a dance party. Yeah. Do you know what also puts me in a good mood? Hmm.
Starting point is 00:16:02 Oh, you want to guess. Okay. No, no, no. I don't need to spend time guessing. What is it? Pink fuzzy slippers. That feels like it could go to the same tune as big chunky scissors. I forgot that how that tune goes.
Starting point is 00:16:17 The big chunky scissors. Yeah, so let's do it with slippers. Big fuzzy slippers. Slippers. I got my big pink fuzzy slippers on. We're going to have some phone. Did you purchase those for, no. Did you purchase those for yourself?
Starting point is 00:16:37 Or did somebody say, I know what she was? No, this was from Kim Kardashian. Okay. These are skims. Oh, okay. Big pink fuzzy slippers. And do they only come in pink? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:16:53 But I am wearing them. Is she trying to fom you up? Yeah, I'm a real femme bitch now. Yeah, yeah. I shuffle around silently in our house and slippers and terrify Stephanie with every turn. Yeah, these are huge. They're like, they look at. They're like clung shit.
Starting point is 00:17:15 I did not want to draw attention to how big. I can't believe how big. I mean, how dare Kim make a slipper that big pink. It's like clown shoes slippers. It should be army fatigue design rather than pink. It's pretty funny, but I live by myself, so who cares? Yeah, nobody cares.
Starting point is 00:17:44 Next question. Hey, Hansons. My name is Sarah. I am originally from Vancouver. I'm actually Calgary, but I lived in Vancouver for a long time in Canada. And I actually live in San Francisco right now. And my 30th birthday is at the end of February. And I'm going with my new husband, which is very exciting.
Starting point is 00:18:09 And we're going to go to L.A., which I've never been to before. And since all three of you live in L.A., I was wondering if you had any recommendations. We're going for basically a long weekend. And yeah, please, please send them my way. I'd love to hear it. And thanks. Love you guys and love the pod. Love you too.
Starting point is 00:18:30 I got my LA hat on. You really do. And you got your big pink slippers. Well, Sarah. Did Sarah say when she was coming? At the end of February, if you would pay attention to Sarah. Uh-huh. And if Sarah...
Starting point is 00:18:46 I hope she gets this in time. Even spends half a second listening to this podcast. podcast she would know my number one recommendation is what um hold on oh wait your number one recommendation would be number one number one would be i've said it many times and clearly you and sarah don't listen to the podcast what is it do i mean to tell you to go to largo for a show to go to the beach to go to a vegan restaurant sure all of those things. But number one is go on the hop-on hop-off bus. Oh, that's right. You love those, just like my mom. I love them and you can laugh at me all you want. But guess who loves them now?
Starting point is 00:19:36 Stephanie and our little cubs because you just... It's pretty great way to see the city. It's so great, especially if you have a few days. Get on that top of the double-decker. There's no roof and somebody just drives you around and you have the option to plug in. headphones to hear the history of the town and the, you know, sites that you're passing, or don't put them on at all and just chill and have a peek. And enjoy the ride. And then you'll see, oh, I want to get back to that area. Ooh, I like this spot.
Starting point is 00:20:08 I want to, this looks cute. And then you take little notes and you go back. Uh-huh. So that's what I suggest, Sarah, for the millionth time. That is actually a great suggestion because L.A. is massive. It is a big city and it's very spread out. So a bus would not be a bad way to hit the hot spots. No.
Starting point is 00:20:31 So yeah, I think TIG's suggestion is great. It's the correct answer. If you're a hiking person, a lot of people love Fryman Canyon. No, not Fryman. That's more for local. Either Griffith Park, hike, or Laurel. Is it Laurel Canyon? Runyon Canyon.
Starting point is 00:20:50 Runyon. Run you. No, no, no. Go to Griffith Park and then after your hike, go to the Trails Cafe and get the vegan sandwich. Oh, my Lord. Oh, my Lord. That is a good suggestion. L.A. is a big hiking city, so a hike. If you're an outdoorsy kind of gal, the beach is always great. Hermosa Beach is really beautiful. That's a little bit more of a drive. but Santa Monica is the closest one. What else? We have lots of entertainment out here. You can go to, if you want to see, like, Largo always has good comedians.
Starting point is 00:21:30 Dynasty typewriter. Dynasty typewriter. If you want a bigger, they have like, you know, the sports teams if you're into sports. There's so many different sports teams here. There's a lot to do, actually. There really is. Sarah, you're going to be fine.
Starting point is 00:21:46 You're going to be just fine. Hopefully we got that to you just in time. Hopefully you're on the plane right now headed to L.A. listening to this. Hopefully you're on the hop-on, hop-off bus right now listening to this. Now, the rest of you people listening, please submit your questions and advice request to speakpipe.com slash handsome pod.
Starting point is 00:22:08 All right. And also check out my tour dates on tignotaro.com. I have local L.A. shows as well as, other nationwide tour dates. Also, apologies. Some have been canceled or rescheduled, but hang in there with me. That's right.
Starting point is 00:22:30 Same here. I'm on tour, San Diego in a couple weeks, and then the rest of my tour starts back up in April, and all those dates will be, that I had to reschedule. I'll be getting to, and it'll be so fun.

Starting point is 00:23:10 What a podcast. What a podcast. podcast. Checking Allstate First could save you hundreds on car insurance. That's smart.
