Starting point is 00:00:00 Why are so many dogs struggling with health issues, and even dying too soon? World famous actress and passionate animal advocate, Catherine Heigel, says the answer may be hiding right inside your dog's food bowl. She reveals that the way most kibble and canned foods are cooked can release harmful compounds that may trigger problems like stiff joints, itchy skin, bad breath, and even those dreaded mushy poops. But here's the exciting part. Heigel and her team say they have discovered canine superfoods, simple foods and herbs that
Starting point is 00:00:28 could help transform your dog's health, from smoother digestion to fresher breath to more energy and mobility. And she's sharing exactly what every dog owner needs to know in a free, short video. If your dog licks their paws, eats grass, has tummy troubles, or just isn't acting like they used to, you need to see this. Watch Catherine Heigel's free video now at h-s-c-pet.com. That's h-sc-pet.com. Your dog's health will thank you. Is Mason Thames going to be on Percy Jackson at some point? I would like him to me. I mean, I think that'd be awesome.
Starting point is 00:01:04 Who does he play? Let's cast him. What do you got? That's what I'm trying to think. Maybe he could be... Who do you guys think he should be? Rachel. Yeah, Rachel's perfect.
Starting point is 00:01:15 I like that. He could be Rachel. Prepare your ears, humans. Happy, sad, confused. Begins now. Hey, guys. Welcome to another edition of Happy Say I Confused today on the show, Percy Jackson himself. Walker, Scope, Bell, talking all things, Percy, and much, much more.
Starting point is 00:01:37 Hey, guys, thanks as always for tuning in to the podcast, for watching on YouTube or Spotify, wherever you're enjoying this. I appreciate you guys. This was a wild big live event, a 90-second Street, why, our last live event of the year, and we truly went out in style, sold-out crowd. About 850 screaming Percy Jackson, Walker Scobel fans, you're going to enjoy this one. Before we get to all that, some quick notes, not much to say except I hope you guys are having a great holiday. I hope you're having a little time off maybe to spend with friends and family.
Starting point is 00:02:12 I do want to say we do have one very exciting event. Actually, two, but I think only one I can say right now, because tickets are officially on sale for me and Tom Hiddleston. Enough said, right? happy, say, confused, all-star Tom Hiddleston is returning, talking all things. The Night Manager, Season 2, and of course, we'll hit on some other stuff, too. You know, if you've seen my stuff with Tom, I don't need to sell you on it. It's going to be a really fun night back at 9 Second Street. Why?
Starting point is 00:02:40 What a way to start, 2026 with Tom Hiddleston. So link is in the show notes to get your tickets now. I'm sure the Solvea Pact House, get in on it. And I think there's an online option, too, to watch virtually. But, yeah, looking forward to that one. Okay, so just a little preamble on this episode, Walker Scobel, one of our younger guests probably in the history of HappySaid confused, but he is such a charming, sweet, talented young guy, so happy this worked out. He's been on the pod technically before because he's been on with his co-stars from Percy Jackson, but this time it was front and center, all Walker Scobel. Of course, the second season of Percy is going right now on Disney Plus.
Starting point is 00:03:24 I will say we screened episode four prior to this event. So best to maybe catch up and see episode four before watching or listening to this, because we do talk about specifics of that episode. It's, by the way, a really stellar standout episode, and I think one of Walker's favorites. And yeah, just like a very sweet, cool young man. I think he's 16 and he's about 13. And to hold the screen as a presence at that young age, is very impressive and then to you know walk out on a stage in front of nearly a thousand people
Starting point is 00:03:59 be chill enough to kind of handle it um i couldn't have done it when i was his age so my thanks to walker to everybody at disney plus his whole team for making it happen um and hopefully we'll do more because um yeah he's uh i mean the fan base for percy and walker i i feel i feel the love guys and he does too so um i guess without any further do let's go to that conversation recorded at the Ninety Second Street Y. You're going to hear a lot of cheering, a lot of excitement. It's me and Percy Jackson himself. It's Walker, Scobel.
Starting point is 00:04:32 Hi, guys. How's it going? I gather it's going well. Welcome to the 92nd Street Y, everybody. My name's Josh Horowitz. I host a podcast called Happy Second Fuse, and we are ending the year in style. You guys have sold out the 90 Second Street Y.
Starting point is 00:04:49 Give yourselves a round of applause. I know why you have, because it is rare, I find, when an iconic role is cast with the absolute perfect actor. Percy Jackson is Walker Scobel. Walker Scobel is Percy Jackson. Are you enjoying the new season, guys? As I said, this is our last big event in New York of the year, and I'm so thrilled you all have come out for this.
Starting point is 00:05:22 Walker's been on the stage before with some of his castmates, but tonight he's going solo, so make him feel welcome. Give him a big warm welcome. It's Walker Scobel, everybody. I'm nervous. I've never done this without Leah or Orion. I know.
Starting point is 00:05:52 Where's your backup? Did you bring any backup today just in case? No, they left me. They went home for Christmas. How can we make you feel comfortable? I want you to feel relaxed and comfortable walker. How about this? On the count of three, we're all going to say, you've got this walker. Okay, you're ready? One, two, three. You've got this walker? This place is really full. Who would you, who would you come out, like, like the fans come out, came out for you?
Starting point is 00:06:32 Who would you sign up, buy a ticket for, scream your head off, concert, actor? Is there anybody? I would say, I would say maybe, I don't know, I'm, right now I want to see Marty Supreme, so maybe Timothy Chalemay. That'd be awesome. Have you met Timothy Shalema yet? No, I've never met him, but I really want one of those Marty Supreme Jackets. Right. I think that's going to happen in your future.
Starting point is 00:07:01 I predict it. I hope so. So you've done a lot of your press. Look, we've done a lot of press together, but a lot of it has been with Arien and Leah. By now, I feel like you could answer their questions for them. So, Leah, what's the best part of working with Walker now, would you say? I mean, he's just so dedicated, and he's amazing. Yeah, it's pretty much it.
Starting point is 00:07:29 Aryan, any goofy things happen on set with Walker at any point? Oh, I'm boring. I don't remember anything. I did ask some of your castmates to describe you in three words. Oh, no. You ready? No. See if you can guess which castmates said this. funny, leader, kind.
Starting point is 00:07:52 Daniel. It's Dior. Okay, yeah. That's nice. That's nice. Hardworking, loyal, passionate. That's Daniel. It's Arian, actually. That's Arian?
Starting point is 00:08:06 This is like the, what, fourth or fourth time he said something nice about me? We've been doing a press store for like three weeks. He also said, he gave me a few. He said also, less cool Levi. Okay, yeah, that, that, That makes, I actually agree with that. Can you explain the context of that?
Starting point is 00:08:21 Levi's a new cast member, obviously, right? Yeah, Levi plays Nico DiAngelo. Who's amazing, by the way. Yeah, no, he's, honestly, he's better than all of us in, like, every single way. Is he cooler, though, as Arien said? Oh, yeah. I mean, I'm totally fine to admit that. He's amazing.
Starting point is 00:08:39 I'm sitting in, it's actually, like, we're filming in season three. We took a break for this, and we're going right back after Christmas. But I'm, a lot of my, because Leah's, you know, not present for a lot of it. So I'm, you know, most of the time it's just me, Olive and Levi, Olive plays Bianca in the school trailer. And I'm the one that's like disturbing everything and I'm not doing any work.
Starting point is 00:09:03 I feel like they're, you know, more mature than I am. Impossible. Though I do appreciate it, I know you've talked about this. I want you to feel more comfortable because I, a very elder man, do not have a driver's license, locker. Every single time, every single time. I'm sorry. No, you know what?
Starting point is 00:09:25 It's endearing. It's nice. It's good. Who needs a driver's license when you have Uber? That's, no, exactly. And also, let's, I mean, okay, who actually knows how to parallel park perfect every time? I don't know anybody. No one I want to hang out with, right?
Starting point is 00:09:42 No, I agree with that. The best drivers fail once or twice. It's what I've heard. It builds character. Maybe we should take our driver course together. Maybe we should both get our license together. That's the first thing I'm doing when I get home. I'm doing that and then I'm going to bed for a couple days.
Starting point is 00:09:57 Right. Is it weird, though? You've had this experience a few times when you're doing press when you're already in the middle of something. Like, you're in the middle of season three right now. So are you ready for both the holiday break but also to get back to set? Because that's really where you're having fun, right?
Starting point is 00:10:12 Making the show. No, totally. I mean, even like hearing you guys just now after episode four. Did you like episode four? that's my favorite episode definitely by far I just I actually watched that this morning and I haven't like that was I was just imagining all that and actually seeing that
Starting point is 00:10:32 it looked insane but yeah no all I want to talk about is like season three because we're in the middle of filming it and all I want to do is get back and like hearing that makes me want to like get back to work you know so it has been correct if I'm wrong right in the in the timeline I think it's almost exactly four years since you were cast.
Starting point is 00:10:50 It was January 2020. Do I have that right? You about the news? Oh my God. I spent four years. I'm already, yeah, I'm older than the prophecy already happened for me. Does it feel like four years?
Starting point is 00:11:05 Does it feel like yesterday? I mean, when I say that, that seemed to blow your mind when I said that. I haven't thought about that at all. Because I was just think about like when we were filming season one and I was like, you know, I was almost 14 at that time. So that is weird to think about. I'm going to be like 40 years old by the time
Starting point is 00:11:23 this is over and Logan Lerman's still going to be young enough to play Percy Jackson. Is there anything you wish you'd known back on day one now that you're knee-deep in season three? You've done the press gauntlet a few times. Talk to young, innocent Walker on that first season. I don't think I've learned that much since then. I feel like the same guy. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing. Take me back a little bit. When you auditioned, do you remember in the room
Starting point is 00:11:52 knowing that you had a beat on this character? Did you have a sense that this might pan out? Well, it was weird because I auditioned for that during the Adam Project when we were filming that. And then we, you know, I got pinned, I heard I got pinned, and then I didn't hear anything. It was in January. And then they, you know, call me back up early
Starting point is 00:12:12 December, which was like an entire year. And then I got a couple more calls. And this was like, I got cast completely just from like Zoom calls, just from my home. So I guess in a way it was a bit of a gamble for them. They'd never seen me before. The first time they saw me was when I was doing the Chemorrhids with Leah. Oh, wow. Yeah, that February.
Starting point is 00:12:35 So had you been already cast when they started to bring in Ari and Leah? You had already been cast as Percy? Mm-hmm. Yeah. That must have been interesting. Like, do you remember then your perspective on? Because, like, did they ask your opinion when, like, actors were coming through? Yeah, they would, I mean, you know, I feel like you can kind of just see right away who is chemistry.
Starting point is 00:12:56 And I feel like, you know, Ari and Leah and I just kind of, it almost felt like our audition, like their audition scenes went the fastest because we just clicked right away. And there wasn't like, I don't know, sometimes when it's not clicking, it feels like it's taking a really long time. like the scene is like dragging on, but it felt like the scenes happened really fast, and I don't know, you could just kind of feel it. I wasn't too sure about Arian at first. I'm still not. So maybe at the end of the season, he'll prove to me.
Starting point is 00:13:26 Right. We should say Walker insisted on Arian not being here tonight. It was initially going to be everybody. Oh, he's still here. He's still here. He just... He walked him in a closet back there, a poor guy. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:36 Yeah. I came out here. There was a curtain, and I shoved his chair off the side. Goodbye, Kyle. Did the sound of those words call to you like Pavlov's dog? Then you might enjoy our podcast, Turtle Time. Every week you can join me, Riley Hamilton, and my co-host, Amy Scarletta, as we cover the most pressing Bravo news and dig into the new episodes to answer important questions like,

This is old school adventuring at its most cruel. Your torch ticks. down in real time and when that flame dies something else rises to finish the job this is a brutal
Starting point is 00:14:48 rules light nightmare with a story that emerges organically based on the decisions that the characters make this is what it felt like to play RPGs in the 80s and man it is so good to be back join the glass canon as we plunge into the shadow dark every thursday night at 8 p.m eastern on youtube.com slash the glass cannon with the podcast version dropping the next day see what everybody's talking about and join us in the dark. I'm trying to earn brownie points of my nieces tonight, so Sadie and Sienna want to know, how was shooting season two
Starting point is 00:15:26 different than season one? Biggest difference for you. Biggest difference. I think there was a lot more action. It felt like, I don't know, season one, it was just Ari and Leah and I the whole time. So it was, you know, we were in all these different places
Starting point is 00:15:41 together and this season it felt like you know Charlie was there almost the entire time Dior was there almost the entire time we had Daniel who fit in perfectly and I feel so bad when I'm watching all these like he just looks so cute on screen not that he's not cute in real life I don't know yeah no definitely I mean he is but no but even like it was hard for me to be mean to him when we were filming a lot of these scenes but now like watching it back with like the eye he just like it makes me feel even worse I go to bed feeling horrible every night what did that look like on set does he have like a strength like anything up here or he's just like they don't they didn't put any dots or like
Starting point is 00:16:25 anything he doesn't have to act a certain way he just it's just all him and uh it really like it came together perfectly and his posture the way he walks I was I was watching earlier I was like laughing at the scene where uh he he goes like check in the boiler room and he does that like waddled away. Actually, he was doing, I can't remember. I'm going to make fun of him a little bit, but there was this one day where, like, at the beginning, the very first episode, we're running, we're running away from Lasragonians, and he's doing this, like, half jog thing, and halfway through the rehearsal, they told him to stop doing the Tyson run, and you walked over to me, and it's like, I was just running.
Starting point is 00:17:07 I will say, and I heard you say before I saw this episode that, like, this was a standout episode for you. And now I see why. How epic was episode four, guys? Like, it's pretty... Did you have a sense of how it would turn out? I mean, obviously, there's a lot of water, Walker. That's a lot of water.
Starting point is 00:17:33 Did it blow your mind being on set? Did it blow your mind seeing the finished product? Can be a sense of your perspective on this episode in particular? I mean, the whole ironclad sequence, like this, this, all this, stuff was like, I mean, just watching them build the ironclad, because, you know, it's all in the same stage, was just incredible. And so we filmed a lot of the stuff before we get pulled into like Carybdis's pull. You know, they built out the ironclad. And then we took a break from filming for a week. In that week, they took apart the ironclad completely, like every little piece.
Starting point is 00:18:05 And they tilted it eight degrees. And they put it all back together just for that like one sequence where I'm running and people are getting pulled out around me. And for when I stand up and like try to, you know, I guess slingshot the ironclad out the other side. I mean, when I've talked to actors over the years, like generally speaking, the thing they dread most are water scenes. It's tough, right? I mean, it's like amazing.
Starting point is 00:18:29 I mean, obviously it's worth it. But like how many days, how many weeks are you drenched for this episode? I mean, we filmed this for like, that was probably five, You know, it wasn't as bad as season one. It was probably about five full days. But, I mean, even while filming it, like, I was like, this better look amazing because they're shooting, like, a thousand PSI water into my face.
Starting point is 00:18:56 But no, yeah, it was, it looks incredible. I mean, I was, like, shocked when I was watching it earlier. Just, like, the whole scene of the Iron Clad being, like, taken apart in mid-air. That's, like, we just imagine that on the day. And also, like, watching back sometimes, I'm like, I feel like if I knew that's what looked like, I would have looked a lot more terrified. I was, like, weirdly stoic during that, not to, like...
Starting point is 00:19:22 No, but it works. I mean, you look pretty cool in that sequence. I mean, standing on the bow, like, that must be... That's like, you know, that's superhero mode. That's, like, that's pretty epic to see the finished product. Do you remember seeing it when they sent you the dailies or you saw the finished product and saying, like, oh, my God. This was the first time I saw.
Starting point is 00:19:41 The only thing I ever got sent, like from, like, I guess Daily's wise, was the video of me doing the Titanic thing with Daniel. But no, this is, I'm actually, I kind of like that I saw it the same night that you guys did because, I don't know, I was, I was really looking forward to this episode and I'm really happy with how it turned out. And that whole fight, the single combat thing with Clarice, I like the way that turned out, yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:06 Do you take pride in fight choreography? How has that evolved? Are you the best in the cast you think at Fight Choreo? I think I'm the best in the cast at looking like I don't know what I'm doing while I'm fighting. Well, that helps. It does really help, and I'm really good at that. It just comes really naturally for some reason. But, no, I think, you know, I would think, I think Dior does a really good job.
Starting point is 00:20:33 She's amazing. And she has to look confident. She has to look like she's on it. Yeah, and I just have to fumble around. and I do that perfectly, I think. But no, it is like a progression, and I feel like I'm kind of naturally, like it was a big break between seasons one and two,
Starting point is 00:20:50 and I grew a lot, and I was, like, when I got there, it was like, that stuff just came naturally because I was so, like, lanky. I hadn't, like, moved in, like, years. So doing those fights, it just kind of matched up with season two. And, you know, in the book, he says he's rusty, and I was definitely rusty while filming those scenes. By season six, you're going to be like nine feet tall.
Starting point is 00:21:12 It's just at this exponential rate. I hope so, yeah. That'd be amazing. How are you at running away from explosions? This is the mark of any true action star. You get to do that, I think, in this episode. I'm getting really good at that. That's the only compliment I'll give myself.
Starting point is 00:21:26 I'm really good at running away from explosions. But no, yeah, and Daniel is too. What's the key? What's the, if you were teaching a master class and how to run away from an explosion? I'm going to give, you know what? I have to give all the credit to the first ADs because normally they'll have a big mic
Starting point is 00:21:45 and there'll be speakers like this and normally they talk about like they talk at this volume and then they kind of just try to catch you off guard so then they'll just go boom like super loudly into the mic so you just kind of can't expect it I guess and what about in terms of reactions
Starting point is 00:22:04 reaction to a monster that's not there what's the do's and don'ts what's the right way to react to some epic monster that's actually not there what's the wrong way to do it I think you just kind of have to go over the top go straight oh yeah
Starting point is 00:22:18 don't go subtle I feel like it's so much easier to like I don't know make it look like you're less scared on camera than it is to make it look like you're more scared than you actually were on the day so I think you know it's always
Starting point is 00:22:32 you should always just go over the top because you know and also you never know what it's going to look like I mean sometimes we're like terrified of these like random little things that end up not being that scary and then there'll be like a giant ironclad sequence or whatever and I'm you know
Starting point is 00:22:46 Too cool for school I mean I guess I was kind of terrified because they had the they had like four cameras in these cranes and they were just swinging them around like all of us like you know with different people being pulled in different directions all these like amazing stunt guys just being like
Starting point is 00:23:02 there's a bunch of pads all around the ship and they would have all these people on their line and they'd be walking on the ship and then this dude next to him would just be like, bam, on the line and they just get, like, ripped off the side. It's terrifying to watch. Stunt, you're proudest to have nailed,
Starting point is 00:23:18 whether it's in season one, two, or do you want to hint at something in three? I think, I'm going to hint at something in three. I had this awesome, it was the end of the day, and I, I always says, I was spoiling anything. I was fighting this person, and, uh, and, and, I'm running away from them and they grab like something on my back and then I like kind of
Starting point is 00:23:45 my feet go up in the air and I flat back it and they weren't like you know they didn't really want me to do it because you know saved you or something exactly and um it was the end of day so I was like okay it's the last take I'll just do it and you know my stunt double I've been doing it like the entire day and I was like he's doing like he gets to do it this entire time and it It looks like he looks totally fine when he gets up. And so I sprinted in the other direction. They grabbed my back and then I land like flat on my back. And I got up and I ran around.
Starting point is 00:24:18 They're like, dude, that was awesome. And everyone like started clapping and I was like, that's why they don't want me to do it. It like completely knocked the wind out of me. It was not prepared for it. But it ended up looking really good. So I hope they keep it in. Have you learned your lesson? Does that mean you're going to do less going forward or are you going to keep asking for more?
Starting point is 00:24:36 I kind of want to do more. I don't know. He's a weird thrill. I don't know. Have friends, fellow actors, angled to get on the show? Basically what I'm asking is, is Mason Thames going to be on Percy Jackson at some point? I would like him to me. I mean, I think that'd be awesome.
Starting point is 00:24:53 Who does he play? Let's cast him. What do you got? That's what I'm trying to... Maybe he could be... Who do you guys think he should be? Rachel. Yeah, Rachel's perfect.
Starting point is 00:25:05 I like that. He could be Rachel. Rachel. But no, yeah, that would be great. I think, you know, the goal is to try to get as many, like, I don't know, friend actors on the show as possible, because I think it's just so fun. And, like, you know, the entire cast, like, we're already such good friends. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:22 It'll be so fun to just add more people that we're already all friends with, to just hang out with, you know? Like, so how do you know someone like that? Like, were you up for the same roles? Like, is it just like when you're of a certain age and you're doing the thing, you run into them? it's weird because it happens in the weirdest ways. I mean, I guess with Mason, like, both of us, like, you know,
Starting point is 00:25:42 we'd be, like, swiping up on stories, being like, dude, like, looks awesome. And one day I was like, you know, it was a new Fortnite season. This was, like, December. It was after I got back from the season one press tour, and I was like, you want to play Fortnite? And he was like, yeah. And that's how it all started.
Starting point is 00:25:56 But no, with, like, other people, like, you know, you'll just run into them somewhere, and you'll just happen to get along really well. And then that just kind of, you know, kicks everything off. and it's just random. Everyone, everyone knows everyone. It's super weird. Since we have the luxury of time,
Starting point is 00:26:11 I want to talk a little bit about what you're a fan of, because I've heard you talk about this a bit and you have good taste. Growing up, Marvel, DC, Star Wars, everything, like all the above, like rank them,
Starting point is 00:26:22 give me, like, your top franchises the things you were really into when you were a little kid. Marvel was like maybe, like, that was, like, my thing. There was a point where, like, I could tell, you, I mean, I don't know, I haven't been, I've been a little busy recently, but I got it when I, you know, what? What have you been doing? Oh, yeah, the show. Just the show. When I rap, I will, you know, I have to catch up, but, uh, no, yeah, Marvel was, like, the big one when I was a kid. That was, you know, it was that and then it was, like, specifically, like, Green Lantern, um, from D.C. And, uh, I was really into the Flash show. Like, Grant Guston, awesome. I hope he plays the Flash again.
Starting point is 00:27:04 But yeah, no, I've just, like, Spider-Man was like, that was my guy forever. And which Spider-Man is your actor, is your guy specifically? I grew up watching Andrew Garfield. And I think he's, I don't know, I'm, like, extremely excited for a brand-new day, though. Yes. And I don't know. I feel like, I don't know, again, I love Toby McGuire, but, like, Andrew is like, it's just, it's, like, nostalgic for me. Because, like, that was, like, those came out, you know, when I was growing up.
Starting point is 00:27:39 So, but I don't know. Tom is, like, Tom Holland's looking really good. Like, I'm, I'm really excited for a brand new day. And I love how they're going for, like, the classic Spider-Man, like, you know, I guess, this classic, like, catching robbers and stuff like that. Right. Back to basics, kind of street-level stuff. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:27:59 Yeah, yeah, yeah. At what point, then, working with Ryan Reynolds, do you bring up Green Lantern? because he has mixed feelings. Like, that's not necessarily, he doesn't look back at that film as the high point of his career. I think, I don't know, I think he likes talking about it
Starting point is 00:28:15 the same way that I like talking about failing my driver's test. Like, I think it's, I think it's pretty hilarious. I'm not too happy about it, but it's also like, it gives me something to talk about, and it's like, it's, I don't know, it's, it's, the best drivers fail once or twice, like I said.
Starting point is 00:28:32 Right. But no, I, I, I, Best actors have a film or two that doesn't work. Exactly. And I think, you know, in my opinion, I loved him as Green Lantern. He was like my, like, I mean, we haven't seen 20 Green Lanterns, but I loved that movie. And, you know, ever since I was a kid, I've loved it, I had a Green Lantern theme birthday party. What does that entail?
Starting point is 00:28:52 Are you dressed as Green Lantern or just? No, I mean, I had a Green Lantern shirt on. And then I had a ring. And then I gave rings to other people. Nice. And I had a Green Lantern cake. But, yeah. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:29:06 I kind of immediately brought up that, whether that's a good thing or bad thing. And I don't know. It was the first day I met him, we were doing, because we had to quarantine, it was during COVID. So we quarantined for two weeks. I did a chem read with him, but that was the last time I saw him. And so we did like, you know, we did a rehearsal on like a Sunday or something for the one scene we were doing. And he was just like immediately, like, took me under his wing. and I feel like
Starting point is 00:29:34 I feel like I learned so much on that I definitely wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him and Sean and Mark and Jen which is like insane because the reason I got into acting was because I loved Marvel and then I immediately got to work
Starting point is 00:29:48 with like all the Marvel people literally everyone you just mentioned exactly and Sean's directed he directed Deadpool 3 and now he's directing Star Wars
Starting point is 00:29:58 did you get a visit to the set do you have any inside intel on the new Star Wars film I don't but I I I tried to get stranger things intel, but he wouldn't give me anything. What? But I'm kind of fine with that.
Starting point is 00:30:09 I wanted to, it's keeping it in a secret. I'm nervous for this, for volume two. It's really stressing me out. Yeah, they keep talking up the finale. Like, the finale is going to be epic. Does that, does epic mean casualties?
Starting point is 00:30:24 Like, what's going, you know? I just hope that everybody lives happily ever after. That's what I hope happens. How many superhero auditions have you had in your young career? I haven't had any yet. Literally? I guess this counts. Sure.
Starting point is 00:30:42 Besides Percy. But that... Yeah, Percy's a superhero, but that surprises me, given this day and age and how much is being made. Is that something you're kind of, if the right thing comes? Like, what's your attitude about that as a fan? As a fan, it's like, I don't know. Sometimes it's like, it's difficult because I don't want to, like, don't want to like ruin anything for myself you know what I mean like even like Percy
Starting point is 00:31:06 Jackson like I still watch the show and I still love it but I'm like it's really hard to like just look at my face all the time on screen you know what I mean yeah everybody here agrees we are sick of looking at your face I'm I'm getting real tired of it but no it is like you know it's I want to watch it and enjoy it as a fan so it's like if the right thing comes along I that's like I would be 100% on board but like I don't know I think I also want to, like, experience it as a fan, you know? From the darkest corners of our imagination comes a game show that's more ridiculous than terrifying.
Starting point is 00:31:52 Welcome to Tickled to Death. I'm just curious, like, when you were growing up before this all happened, were you reading both? Like, were you, if I had asked you at 10 years old, do you prefer Percy or Harry Potter?
Starting point is 00:33:13 What would you have said? Would have said the same exact thing. You would have said Percy? Oh, 100%. 100%. I think, I don't know. I just think with Percy, at least, you know, I feel like there's just a lot more to relate to. But then again, I feel like there's so many people that relate to Harry Potter.
Starting point is 00:33:29 but he I really hope one day we can I really want to meet the cast from the movies also the cast from the show I'm really excited to see how that works out yeah yeah well yeah I mean it's one thing to talk about
Starting point is 00:33:41 beating up Daniel Radcliffe like an adult guy but now talking about beating up a 12 year old kid Walker yeah that's not cool you can't say that well technically I'm still 12 in the show I want to manifest new work for you so you've played one
Starting point is 00:33:57 iconic screen character I'm going to give you some iconic characters and lines. Can you give me your best shot at some of these lines and see how they go? Let's do it. Okay, here we go. One at a time. This is it. A lot riding on this.
Starting point is 00:34:12 With great power comes great responsibility. I like that one. That's pretty solid. That's Spider-Man for you. Here we go. I need a growl here. I need like a little gutter. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:34:21 I can't do this. Wait, okay, so do you want Christian Bale, Batman? Do you want Ron Pattinson? it's up to you it's up to you I'll do Robert Pattinson I'm Batman get it because you can hear me
Starting point is 00:34:37 which by the way that wasn't the hit on that at all just because it's that I'm so excited for the Batman too I love those movies Matt Reeves amazing correct Also what are they going to do for the new DCU Batman
Starting point is 00:34:51 or I guess they're going to do another Batman it sounds like Brave and the Bold Nervous Who's your Batman? He's a Batman I liked, you know what? I liked Brendan Sclanar. He wants to play it.
Starting point is 00:35:02 What do you think? I feel like he's a great pick. I feel like he's a great pick. But I don't know. We kind of, we've had so many great bat bands. I feel like at this point, like, I don't know. I mean, we kind of have like, you know, Ben Afflix, like the really big Batman. Christian Bale, like, they're really dark and I guess like kind of, you know.
Starting point is 00:35:24 He's kind of a mix between like Robert Pattinson and like. Yeah, pants is like the extreme of brooding, right? Totally. Total extreme. Keaton's a little kind of like odd, like a little crazy. Yeah. And then, yeah, I don't know. I'm... I just want them to do the blue and gray suit.
Starting point is 00:35:39 That's like my favorite Batman suit, so... One more for you. I don't know how your British accent is. Oh, it's not good. I actually just watched all the James Bond movies, so... So you're ready. Name is Bond. James Bond.
Starting point is 00:35:57 They did a pretty good job, actually. Not bad. Also, yeah, they're doing a new James Bond series, too. I know. They're casting that, too. A lot going on, man. I know. I kind of want Callum Turner.
Starting point is 00:36:11 He's the favorite, supposedly. I don't know. I don't know. I just got to, or him or, like, completely unknown. Yeah. Yeah, I don't know. This is our new show. Or Dams and Idris.
Starting point is 00:36:22 I would be happy to talk movie rumors with you every day. Let's just make this a new show. True. Let's talk about the aspect. I'm going to go to some of your fan questions. You've sent in a lot, so thank you for that, guys. Like, handling all the craziness around this show. I mean, nothing can prepare, like, even, like, 35-year-olds
Starting point is 00:36:38 for the level of success and fame you've had. Did anybody adequately kind of convey to you what this was going to be like when you signed on to be Percy in terms of that kind of reception and just the kind of love you receive? I feel like there's not really, like, a way that you can prepare for, you know? just because it's so different every time. And I think I just kind of watched a lot of interviews of like Daniel Radcliffe
Starting point is 00:37:03 talking about it. And Logan Lerman gave me some advice, which was amazing. But yeah, I got a lot of good advice from different people. And yeah. Is there any advice that you can share without violating anything that's been useful for you? I think Logan told me, he said just like enjoy it. Like enjoy, you know, the process. And I feel like, you know, season one, I was, I was enjoying it the whole time, but I was so focused on, you know, trying to get it right that I wasn't, you know, trying to, like, I guess enjoy it.
Starting point is 00:37:40 So now it's like, you know, when I was going into season two, I was like, I'm really going to appreciate every moment of it. And I did, and it was just so much fun. And I'm doing that right now for season three. So it's, yeah, no, it's a lot of fun. It's a lot of fun, especially, like, I don't know, there's a lot of days. There's always going to be days where, like, it's the middle of winter and you're soaking wet outside for some reason. But I feel like you just got to find what's, like, I don't know, fun or, like, hilarious in it.
Starting point is 00:38:09 And especially, like, that's why I have Arian. Like, he really makes me feel, you know, he makes fun of me a lot in those ways. In, like, in a really nice way. He, like, Arion and I feel like, I really like, we're, and Leah does the same thing. We're all just kind of, we just kind of, we just, kind of make jokes when it would not be a good time to make a joke. And I feel like that's what really makes my day. When you're, when you are recognized, you know, at a Starbucks who were ever at a restaurant, does a fan ever like literally just scream if they recognize you? Like,
Starting point is 00:38:40 they just like instantly see you. Like, how big does the reaction get? The biggest one so far was actually, I was in Ocean City. I was on the boardwalk. And there was like, if you ever been to Ocean City Boardwalk, it's, like, crowded. There's, like, a ton of, like, high schoolers, like that age range or, like, middle school high school. I got, like, swarmed, and there were, like, screams, and I had to, like, I felt like I was such a, I don't know, like a prick, but I was like, please, like, guys, like, just please, like, we're being really, like, it's, it's getting, because it started, like, attracting people who didn't know who I was, and I was taking pictures, and they'd be like, what, like, so what do you do? And I was like, oh, no.
Starting point is 00:39:22 Yeah, once you get to the point of, like, people just wanting photos and not even realizing why they want a photo, then you've gone, it's getting serious. Yeah. So you're on TikTok, but you're not really on TikTok. I checked your TikTok. You've posted twice. So you're really laboring over the next post. You're really thinking it over. You're like, what's it going to be?
Starting point is 00:39:43 It took me a while for, like, even Instagram. Like, I just posted something recently. It's pretty, like, I was, I mean, it's a pretty big deal for me to, like, you know, sit down. and put things together and like, I don't know. I don't know why it's so difficult for me to do this. I guess this is the one thing that I was never prepared for
Starting point is 00:40:01 was having to post all the time, and I feel like, yeah, I've been thinking about, I was thinking about making a post possibly after I get my driver's license. It's a big F. Yeah, the big if. If it happens. But yeah, or just posting a picture
Starting point is 00:40:18 of my perfect parallel parking job. There you go. Do you must be plugged in, though? I mean, do you get friends and family sending you, like, fan edits, memes, the latest, like, everything and anything? I, yeah, I think, well, I have a lot of cousins on my mom's side. So I think every year when I go there, they have, like, new stories of, you know, different encounters they had at, like, college or, like, school where, like, they would hear people talk about it. And even like, you know, I have really little cousins and they still can't like wrap their heads around it. And they all love like Percy Jackson.
Starting point is 00:40:56 So they're like, you know, I'll be talking to them and I'll be like, you know, their mom will tell him like this is, you know, he's, he's Percy. You watch him. And they just say, no. Like he's not. They just, I actually had a really weird interaction. I've never talked about this. I had an interaction on Halloween during season two where I was at my friend's house handing out candy. and these two kids came up
Starting point is 00:41:18 and they were both in Camp Halflet T-shirts and I was like oh like who are you guys and they were like oh I'm like we're Percy and Annabeth and I was like oh like that's really cool actually you guys want to hear something cool and they were like yeah I was like I'm Percy Jackson
Starting point is 00:41:32 and like this the little boy was like no you're not it was like the first thing he said so I shut the door so fast no candy there's a lesson there don't even try don't even like by the way Percy Jackson here
Starting point is 00:41:48 I don't think so I don't know yeah I don't even know why I was why I felt like I should do that you had good intentions I did I also had I've had a lot of weird I'm sorry I'm to keep dragging on about this they keep coming back to my mind and I need to get them out
Starting point is 00:42:03 lie back they opened a crumble cookie where I live and this kid like stopped me at the door and it was it's like a super crowded like it first opened up line like down the street and I was walking out and I was like this kid stopped me in the doorway so we were blocking everybody and he was like
Starting point is 00:42:21 wait like are you Percy Jackson? I was like yeah and he just stared at me and it was like maybe like 30 30 40 seconds and I was like okay like I need to move this I need to move this along I don't want him to like walk away from this maybe like regretting not asking for a picture even though it feels weird to ask him if he wants a picture with me so I was like you know, do you want a picture? And he went, no. And so I turned around and I sprinted
Starting point is 00:42:50 to the car. Did you get your cookie? I did. Okay, good, good. I wasn't, so it kind of evened it out. Wow. There's a lot of these. Snapshot into your life. Fascinating.
Starting point is 00:43:05 Yeah, these are like stuck. I think about these all the time. So they just saw episode four. I've been privileged enough to see the first seven. It's awesome. Sorry. It's really great. I haven't seen eight yet. Give us a little sense of what you're excited for fans to see.
Starting point is 00:43:22 First on this season, then we're going to tease season three, which I know is even harder. But the rest of this season, what are you excited for fans to see? I think it perfectly sets up season three. I don't know, episode seven and eight just kind of take it in a different direction, which I really love for the next three. books in the series. Because, you know, books one and two are kind of like a really big introduction. And I feel like once you start to get into like, you know, the great prophecy
Starting point is 00:43:51 and dealing with all that kind of stuff like we are right now and, well, I mean, us filming season three, it just kind of, you know, it's a completely different level. And yeah, I don't know. I think it, I think it just, like I said, it just goes in a different direction. It's a little bit darker. Is the vibe on set season three different or the set standing out to you? Like what's if we were visiting you would we sense a different
Starting point is 00:44:20 kind of vibe on set of season three versus the first two? Oh definitely I mean I feel like even season two is just like a I feel like when season three Leah's not there you know the book's been out for a long time there are books what
Starting point is 00:44:37 But, you know, and with this season, Aryan not being there a ton, it's like, it's the same thing. It's like you're just missing a guy or you're missing a person. And so it's like, I don't know, it just feels different. It feels like something's missing. But it's still, you know, great. I get to hang out with Arian all the time. And T. who plays Thalia, who was amazing in this episode. And, yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:03 And Sarah, who plays Zoe, who's, you haven't seen her yet, but she's perfect. I think it's a really, and then obviously Olive for a good chunk of the quest, she did an amazing job. Yeah. Is there a, in the illustrious adult cast, you know, the luminaries like Lynn, et cetera, is there an actor that's made you a better actor to act opposite that stands out to you? Like, I'm in a scene with Rosemary DeWitt, Lynn Mel Miranda. Like, what's a moment on set where you're like, oh, wow, they're raising my game by being so great? I definitely, someone I'm better with. I feel like, I don't know, I feel like I always have to step my game up when I'm working with Adam Copeland.
Starting point is 00:45:51 That guy, yeah, he just, my favorite thing. And, you know, this goes for every single guest star that we've ever had on Percy. They all come in and they just go, like, full confidence into everything. And I feel like, even like, you know, I've known all the entire, crew for like three years and I still feel like uncomfortable screaming around them and that's like that's what I do all the time but they come in and they just kind of make these big offers and it works out perfectly and it's like that just you know every single one of them the only person that I feel like I get
Starting point is 00:46:27 worse with in the best way is Jason Manzukas because I'm having such a hard time trying to like not laugh that I feel like I'm just like it's just there's been a couple people like that specifically Jason though where and Timothy Simmons I was going to say yeah Tim's very funny he's like they're improv together
Starting point is 00:46:48 is like I don't even know like there's a reason that you don't see my face a lot in those scenes it's because Leah and I are trying not to like because sometimes like even if you try to like you know they'll improv a lot if you try to like I don't know sneak a line in there
Starting point is 00:47:05 it's like it just turns back on you and there's just, you're just never going to be smart enough to keep up. At least I'm not. No, Manzukas is like the best improv guy on the planet. Oh, yeah. So that's, that's tough. A little season three teaser. Levi actually is like the only person I've ever seen that's been able to like match that.
Starting point is 00:47:27 I know that sounds weird, but he is like, he just completely, I don't even know how to explain. He's just, how old is Levi? He's like, he's 13. Wow. Less cool Levi, right here. Yeah, I know. We end every happy second-fused podcast with the profoundly random questionnaire. You ready, Walker? Some rapid fire for you. Ready.
Starting point is 00:47:50 Dogs or cats. I feel bad. I mean, I guess I want to say dog. It's okay. You can still like it. I like cats. I love cats. Okay. What do you collect, if anything? What do you got? Do you keep anything? It's something I used to collect
Starting point is 00:48:09 I used to have a lot of like I have like a screen accurate Spider-Man costume Really? Yeah, I do It doesn't fit me anymore I don't know why I bought it But I have it Just in case
Starting point is 00:48:22 You have to fight crime, yeah I have a lot of weird Like movie weapons I have a lot of catas Like memorabilia from like Like actual memorabilia Or like replicas of like Just like replicas
Starting point is 00:48:31 And like not like total I have a I actually I have a couple like demon slayer katanas Because me and my brother used to go play like Fruit Ninja. Don't do that. It's like way heavier than you'd think it'd be when you're swinging it.
Starting point is 00:48:44 What's your favorite video game of all time? Ghost of Sushima was awesome. Spider-Man 2. I can't pick a favorite. What's the most time sucked out of your life? What game is... Definitely, Fortnite or Minecraft.
Starting point is 00:49:04 Yeah. I've spent way too much time on Fortnite. and I also think Arian and I spent on season one we were really into Sea of Thieves and that was, yeah I spent a lot more time than I should have on that too What's the wallpaper on your phone?
Starting point is 00:49:25 This, I think it's like just the sky like the weather, the current weather. The current weather is on my phone. You know what, it was actually Arian for a little bit. It was a really horrible picture of Arian but... A happy photo of him? Not a good picture.
Starting point is 00:49:40 Not a good picture. That tracks. That makes sense. But I just felt bad. I had to change it. Last actor you were mistaken for? Has ever happened? Yeah, it happened with...
Starting point is 00:49:53 I can't believe I'm reading his name. He's an amazing actor. It's okay. From... Weird movie to bring up Challengers. Oh, Mike Feist. Yeah, I've gotten that. I've actually gotten recently someone, uh, I wasn't mistaken, but they told me I looked
Starting point is 00:50:13 like, um, Finnic from the Hunger Games. And that was, that's like my, that's, I mean, those two things, like, you know, biggest compliments ever. Sam Claflin, do I have that right? Sam Claflin, yeah. Amazing actor. Amazing. Yeah. Uh, what's the worst, what's the worst note a director has ever given you? The worst note. Um, or what don't you like getting? These are difficult questions. Saving the hard stuff for the end.
Starting point is 00:50:42 I think about this. I think I've never really gotten like a bad note. I feel like maybe it's just like stop messing around. Right. I feel like Arina and I get that quite a bit. Not surprising. Yeah, I'm not, yeah. I'm not even, it's difficult.
Starting point is 00:51:01 Especially when we have so many like comedians in the show. It's like, it's hard to keep it together. Trying to have some fun guys. Come on, lay off. Finally, in the spirit of happy, second, fused. An actor who always makes you happy, you see them on screen, you're immediately in a better mood.
Starting point is 00:51:16 Who would that be? I think, again, I'm going to go recently, Timothy Chalameh. He's been on a crazy, Marty Supreme, Dune 2, crazy, Wanka. You can do it all. Yeah. When's your musical?
Starting point is 00:51:33 One's your big musical. When's my musical? Well, there is a, There's a Percy Jackson musical. Maybe I'll join that. Maybe I'll join that. Well, first I've got to learn how to sing, which is going to take me a couple decades.
Starting point is 00:51:46 Movie that makes you sad. What movie has really rattled you? Pershing being wallflower. That's like the saddest movie ever. And finally, the food that makes you confused. You don't get it. Why do people eat that? What's up with that?
Starting point is 00:52:06 What? now he's sweating what do you what do you what do you think well so I have a few I'll give you some examples like I'm not into like I don't know I'm not sour cream on something that that ruins it for me I don't like that I like that too
Starting point is 00:52:23 okay so you like everything yeah I would say the only thing I'm not into is I don't know why we have to put cilantro on everything okay I feel like and is that crazy to say no no a lot of people just can't it's like a thing I think it's like I saw a thing it's like actually
Starting point is 00:52:40 it's like a genetic thing it tastes like soap to me exactly I appreciate it for what it is I mean I don't know I think that's a good question
Starting point is 00:52:50 I love sour cream I gotta disagree with you on that wow tense at the end yeah we can't agree on this the new season is fantastic you kill it as always thank you
Starting point is 00:53:00 I said it before this is such a I can't think of a better way to end this amazing year at 9 Second Street Y and the year for Happy Sadd Confused. Thank you all for coming out. Give it up one more time. The one and only Walker, Scobel, everybody.
