well it was a creator or the creator is that that's nuts and then from there like death metal I heard black mudd off I was like, yeah, this is, this is sucks. So I kind of, I kind of went back. I mean, there's some good black metal. Yeah, but, I mean, it's hard to hear through the trash can toilet production. Yeah, a lot of those are, like, yeah, I mean, I like, like, blast for me.

It was cool, but, like, a lot of black metal was not for me. But, you know, like, remember Litch King? Yeah. Black metal sucks. Yeah. But, yeah, I was, like, not really rocking with it. And then I was thrash really found. I was like, yo, this is sick.

I didn't know, like, Cryptic Slaughter was hardcore, you know.

Like crossover, you didn't know that what was crossing over was metal and hardcore, or extracts metal and hardcore? Yeah, like, suicide tendencies. I just saw that as a metal band. Like, I didn't know what that was as a hardcore band, you know. And he was like, yeah, he was my band. He gave me, I wish I still had it. I probably still had it, but he gave me the one choice.

So he was in one choice? Yeah. In high school? In high school. He and I have very similar paths. Yeah. Joining our brother's bands. It's crazy.

Yeah. He had a, they had a venue called Galendos in the IE. Galindo's glass. It was, oh, yeah, yeah, it was. Well, that was far as shit from me, right? No. It was like Marietta. That's I.

Yeah, Mirrietta's IE. I was learned, Marietta. So here's L.A., the Valley. I.E. is here. Does it also here? Okay. San Bernardino County is the biggest county in the country. You can Google it.

And then plus San Bernardino plus Riverside makes the IE. And that's just humongous. It goes to Vegas. That's true. It's huge. It's super huge. So like San Bernardino goes to Vegas or inland empire goes to Vegas. Yeah.

The IE. Yeah. It's crazy. The IE is San Bernardino, right? Yeah, San Bernardino and Rivers. The inland empire is such a powerful phrase. It is. It is.

It's the only time I've ever heard a name. I've been like, I want to live there. Yeah. Yeah. And then, well, yeah. No, no, no, no disrespect. I'm sorry, it's very hot. It's hell of hot.

i.e. bands that you think are like the, I mean, is it Soul Search and Shibaba? Sol Surgery, yeah, Zababa, I got into that maybe 2014 or 15. So well into their ten years. Yeah, I was super meddled out. I got into Zababa earlier early on because it was like metal. You would think that would be metal. Yeah, right. But yeah, Adam showed me, I was like, yo, this is sick.

And seeing him, I obviously shout out to Adam, seeing him like posper over the year. years insane. Oh, he's an incredible drama. Yeah, we're both on the same thing. We're like, we'll be gone forever and then see each other. Like, oh, what's up, dude? But... What's the best? Yeah, him and Shailen, shout out. You know, they're amazing. That's like definitive Death Corps. Yeah, but I didn't, I don't know. As a kid, I was thinking like, We Butter their Bread with Butter or whatever. I thought that was like, seen Kid Death Corps. And I was like, don't say those words. Yeah, I was like, Is that the first, we butter the bread with butter?

So I have a synthesizer in my room. It just holds hat. A lot of this. Yeah. But, um, it was time when on, I was like,

you know, I really love guitar. I remember I had the greatest piece of gear on earth, the spider. Hell, yeah, the line six spider goes to extreme. Can't touch it on extreme.

And yeah, and I was in, I just could not believe this band. So you're in Eddie Van Halen mode. You're playing guitar. When in your life do you start a band? I had a band called The Noobs. Bad ass name. Yeah, I guess out Wantsisneros. We didn't really do anything.

Do you guys play video games? He did. He was super in the video games. I played like Spinaw versus Raw. Oh, hell yeah, dude. We'll get there. here's a pain god really goaded but i'm not a gamer but

okay you were a new that was a new for sure and we were we had that and I don't know I had like I was I had a band called straight jacket union I was I was asked to join that band that's a good band name it's a it was cool it was like grunge stuff I joined it I was cool I was in like random bands

and then I was probably like six or seven bands until I did like a thrash band called Altar of Apophis. Hmm? Alter of Apophis. Who's Apophis? It was like some Egyptian god, I believe.

Yeah. And it was like, we would cover Iron Maiden like the song. Power Slater. We covered Whiplash, um, Power Thashing Death. Fuck yeah. That was so sick. Oh my God. My favorite bands though.

So you're on all these bands way before you do a hardcore band. Yeah. So hardcore came, playing hardcore came way later. Yeah. I have. So there's one time. life in high school I had a thrash band called ultra poppheus I had an indie band called red velvet addiction crazy these kids yeah nuts and then I had a band is there a real big

fella in the band that this love red velvet cake no later on we were trying to do red chelette peppers velvet revolver and james addiction it thought that was so but I joined the band later that was the name that was what it was like mixed it was it was cool so So fake eaters. Yeah, not real eaters. I didn't hit my real eater mode yet. Okay. And then I had a band called The Broke, which I joined.

We called The Broke. And that was straight up, Clay 45 worship. Okay. Stayed by the unseen, just straight up, like, street pump. Fuck, yeah. And I was in these three bands concurrently in high school. So you were doing the multi-band thing. Yeah.

You're a pioneer. Back in the day, rebeen on it. And then some bands fizzles. and then the Red Velve Addiction turned into this band called Axis Vertigo, which again, shout out, Juan, were using that band with me, and that was saying of just like, we wanted to be Oasis. That's really what it really wanted to be. But it was like, Oasis, Caged the Elephant, I guess.

It was just weird, but it was cool. It was fun. We were in high school. That sounds awesome. Did any of them, like, have demos or put out music in any way? You remember like that awful paid-up? play system. Of course. We,

my first shows are paid a play and we played, Actus Vertigo played the House of Blues, Anaheim. M. Productions hit you up? No, what was it called? Breakthrough. Breakthrough.

I'm airing y'all out. Y'all owe me a check and then some. Boom. Breakthrough. Y'all did me dirty. Don't pay to play, young bands, don't do it. That's how they're getting away with it. You're doing it. They'd be like, oh, yeah, sell 100 tickets at $10 each. I was.

played with Stephen Piercy at the Whiskey-A-Gogo. When you were in high school? It was instillapen. You were in high school? Yes, it was crazy. My dad had to walk me around because we couldn't can't be in there. I was like

Okay. James from Cool Side and Step for Change was the drummer at one point. Rob from Pure Discuss was jamb with us at one point. Spencer from Charisog with us at one point. We were just like... And then, like, now I mean, Des, hell locked in. Yeah, uh, swampy was swampy he's legend he skates he's super oh yeah swampy Yeah, goaded he was in the band for a little bit but we it was just like we were really trying to find our footing It wasn't until oh and um uh Zane from this band Wacko uh like the Denny's clown band

band he was in it yeah we like were definitely feeling it was like Brandon but we played two two or three shows It's pronounced wakelake. And then the pandemic hit. Yeah. And. But then people really marinated on that demo, I think. Yeah. And then we, we had two things that were out.

And I hear like, you know, flat spot. And I was like, like, TY. TU.I. Yeah. Like the, you know, the flat spot was trying to rock with us, you know? But I was like, yo, like, this pandemic, you know, like there's no shows. Yeah. And you saw the landscape of hardcore just completely.

change overnight. Yeah, and the idea of like you know, guarantees and U.S. tours and like it's like that's not feasible for everybody. That's like not a thing, you know? Of course.

You, I mean, it's also a thing that Shred Bundy had not experienced. Yeah, like Shred Bundy wise, not even Zulu, like no, like we were, none of the bands I was in, we were not, we would play six shows. It was awesome. But like agents and managers and all that. foreign to me, like completely foreign to me.

And it's still foreign to me, you know? And it was to the point where it's like, 2021 people were like, there's murmurs, oh, this band is crazy. We solidify our lineup. Yeah. And our first show back, I was like,

yeah, I wanted to play with, I saw our Spotify recommended with Scout and Spy. And I was like, yo, like, spy and scout would be cool. Like, just because that's what the people were like. Now they're saying reverse fascism. It was crazy. It's real. Because there was this dude that he emailed some venue and was like, oh, do you know you have a black nationalist racist band playing your venue?

whatever, and then the venue then used that email out on a flyer. That's, yeah, dude, that's, what a move. Wow. The lore went up, you know, and it wasn't even our attention. Like, we, I don't know.

Like, it's a shirt. Yeah. It's a shirt. What do you expect to happen? People are like, oh, so you hate white people. I'm like, I have a Van Halen logo tatted on my skin for life. Like, I mean, I don't know what you want me.

It's like, I don't hate, we don't hate white people. It's like, it was just like, this is the idea of like, you know, we're not like, get real the idea of tokenism. oh they're anti-semitism because we were right against Zionism I was like doesn't really add up but you know what about before that with with just the shirt shit was the outward there were they was 22 it was actual like neo-nazies like oh well not I'm not sure if it was Berlin with neo-noxies that at least makes more sense yeah but it does but I mean I mean, being so fascist that you're mad at that makes sense.
