Starting point is 00:00:00 I forgot the putting out an album. Dude, it sucks. It's wild. The worst part is having it done and just sitting. Nothing worse. Oh my God. Tell me about it. I want to just be like, I don't care.
Starting point is 00:00:11 Just like make it be worse. Like, just have it be worse. And then it comes out and it's like when you like ordered food and you, it took a really long time. And so when it finally comes out, you're like, I don't even want this. I know. I got a new meal. This, I know, bite the hook. I'm watching a trailer.
Starting point is 00:00:27 I want to see this new movie now. Exactly. I want to see the new play. of the apes. It's very difficult. Hello, welcome. It's Hardler Time. How are you, Bo? I'm tired. My back hurts. This is day two for us here at Bob Wilson's
Starting point is 00:01:02 10th annual F*** Your Attitude Festival here in Tampa, Florida. Today we have a very special guest. Who do we got? Where to begin? We go back. We go back. We do go back. We go back a ways.
Starting point is 00:01:17 Beloved, enigmatic, energetic, charismatic. You hear that? Frontman for legendary Long Island hardcore band Brennan Geroon. How are you, sir? I'm great. What an intro.
Starting point is 00:01:34 He's got them. Everybody says that. My head's not going to be able to leave the door. Yeah, when do you start formulating those? On the spot. On the spot. If I overthink it'll be a disaster. Yeah, it would be bad.
Starting point is 00:01:43 No one's ever called me enigmatic. I feel like I'm the most boring person in the world. That you know of. True. Just let me tell you something. You walk away. They go, what an enigmatic guy? Everyone's like, what does that mean?
Starting point is 00:01:54 You'll never know. How are you, Brendan? I'm great. I am 10 minutes from playing or 10 minutes post-playing. You just played. So I'm tired. You just played an amazing set. Here's a clip of it.
Starting point is 00:02:09 It was great. Wow. Wasn't that awesome? That looked good. That was really good. Good job. Yeah, I love that song. That part was crazy.
Starting point is 00:02:15 I agree. I can't believe she did that. I know. So something crazy is you are, you're part of an elite club. amongst hardcore bands. Oh, good. I got two. There's two elite clubs you're in,
Starting point is 00:02:27 not unlike the men in black. This one is, you're part of the four album, four LP club, wow. Yeah, that is dangerous territory. That is dangerous. I think we're five.
Starting point is 00:02:39 You're five? You're five? Reality isolation. You count reality? No, but reality, isolation, Rust, post-human, new one. So either way, I'm in. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:49 We should get jackets. Anyway. Yeah, we cold. Four LPs, Brendan, starting with Crusade. Yep. And it's been such an honor to watch this journey because Crusade was like a slow burn. It was a slow burn. You put it out and it was like, yeah, this man exists.
Starting point is 00:03:09 It was a local record. What year was that? 2009. Dude, that's so crazy. 2009. Harm's way 2009 as well. Yeah, I think we, there's a cohort of bands who started right around like almost. almost the exact same year because backtrack, I think, was 2008.
Starting point is 00:03:25 Yeah. Where were you? We started 2006. First LP was 2009. Okay. We started in 2007. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:32 It's been a while. That's great. It's great. We're here, you know? It's this generation, truly. Bob Wilson brought us here. And then was, was Cost of Living the next one? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:41 Cost of living in 2013. You know, it's an even more... 2013. I was going to say an even more exclusive club. I don't know how good it is, is the three split seven-inch club, which I guess it's Us and is hate breed in that club? Ringworm. Ringworm for sure.
Starting point is 00:03:56 Neglect. Oh no, that's only two. Yeah. So you beat hate braid. There's got to be another band with, Ringworm. Ringworm. Terror.
Starting point is 00:04:04 Yeah, terror, ringworm. Yeah. Ringworm, hate breed. No, that is. Isn't there a ringworm cold as life split? Yep, I have one. Ringworm and send you. So like, I mean, this is like rarefied air.
Starting point is 00:04:12 It leads men and black. Yeah. And terror as well as a band. Yeah. True. Three splits? They've got a terror promise plan of attack. It's not saying.
Starting point is 00:04:21 Terror, the Dead Man's Hand. Is it first, no, it's ringworm. Yeah. They count and there's got to be one more. Who knows? Probably. Crusade. What were the expectations in early incendiary days?
Starting point is 00:04:34 And what was, you know, what was the public reaction when that record came out? I think it did okay. The expectation was, I hope we continue to get booked playing shows on Long Island. Right. That was my sole focus. Yeah. And I was happy, pretty happy how it came out, with the exception of the vocals. I got very sick during the recording process,
Starting point is 00:04:54 still probably as sick as I've ever been. So to me, I can hear like, this is when I wasn't sick and then this is after I was sick, but it was extremely stressful recording process, just like schedule-wise, because we recorded on Long Island and we did it during the week. So I would go to, I lived in Queens,
Starting point is 00:05:12 I would go to work, take the train to the studio and fairly like Eastern Long Island, and then stay there to like two, and then go home and sleep for like two hours at my parents' house and then get up and get the train and go back to work. So I obviously got sick for me. Yeah, of course. You were already a professional man by day.
Starting point is 00:05:30 Sort of. Yeah, I just, because like at that time we were just kind of, it was very local band. Like we were kind of just, things were like kind of starting to like pick up steam on Long Island. It was kind of like, it was an interesting time in Long Island,
Starting point is 00:05:44 like, backtrack was just kind of starting and just, and then they were like hitting the road. They united the boroughs. I would say. Yeah, don't get me started on that. Would you co-sign that statement? They are,
Starting point is 00:05:57 it pisses me off when people don't talk about them as being like one of the best Long Island bands in history. Like if you don't have them in your top five, you're just wrong. They brought so many people to hardcore. They put Long Island like on the map again as like a place like post, post silent majority VOD. They do not get enough credit. If you talk to a lot of the,
Starting point is 00:06:19 I guess what would be like, 25 to 35, 35, 40 year old people, like, it's Backtrack. Yeah. And they- Pre-Backtrack, you couldn't put a Long Island band in your, like, list of favorite New York hardcore bands. Somebody would stop you and go, no, that's Long Island. Yeah, they bridge it. And straight out, I think Backtrack ended that stigma.
Starting point is 00:06:38 Yeah. They, I mean, like, VOD got co-signed and it's obviously like the New York Hardcore documentary and stuff. But, like, they were very, they rode for Long Island. And so did Backtrack, but their sound was very like NYHC. Yeah. Even in that documentary, it's kind of like tongue and cheek because they're like mowing the lawn. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:06:54 You know, it's kind of like a joke. Yeah. Yeah. Interesting. The accents and stuff. I love, I love hearing peers talk about peers with reverence like that. I think that that's really cool because we met them really early on, but I didn't really, I wouldn't have known that. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:07:11 I didn't really put that together. They were always around and they kind of like, there was a little bit of a low on Long Island. and when we started that like we were obviously like aping like strife in 108 and still trying to and like that was not popular no and you fast forward to like the past couple of years and I'm like wow this is like I love all of this yeah everybody's going everyone's doing yeah exactly but like you could get shot for going ninoo ninoo yeah it was not it was it was the it was the melodic hard call yeah hardcore sort of death feel the dark times the dark times yeah yeah so your goal was basically if silent majority was hard just being the a cool Long Island band that played every now and then and you didn't have big aspirations to be a big touring band or anything like that? No, we wanted to play more. It was all doing it ourselves. We would like email people and this is hell was very helpful to us. They were really like, they were absolute road dogs and so they would like try to connect us with people. But we, it was always kind of like, it's hard to articulate. It wasn't in our mindset because there wasn't like
Starting point is 00:08:16 this demand where it's like, we got to hit the road, man. Yeah. The album's taken off. And it just wasn't like that. And we were kind of just like really enjoying it. It was the best way I can explain is it is very Long Island centric. I was way more focused about being like, oh shit, we're like playing third. Massa Piqua this weekend.
Starting point is 00:08:32 Well, yeah, definitely. Or out east. But like where we are on the bill, like we're not opening anymore. Like, oh, shit. Yeah, yeah. That's what's up. And like the reaction. I remember the first time we got a reaction to one of the songs on like our seven inch.
Starting point is 00:08:45 I was like, oh, I'm in Metall. So it was very, it wasn't that we were like ignorant. It was just like we were very satisfied with how things were going. It was awesome. You know, there's probably somebody watching or listening who's from like a small town who could be like, wait, that's how that's how I feel about Little Rock or about Milwaukee. Springfield, yeah, whatever. It's like, yeah, we're talking about Long Island. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:08 Well, it has such a like history and like it was also the time of like Long Island, the emo Long Island too. Yeah, big time. So, like, there was, like, the kids into hardcore, and then there was the tenfold kids into brand new and taking back Sunday. And that was, like, popping off. What do you stand on that debate? Well, so back then, I was too cool. Because I was always very into the wave of emo before that.
Starting point is 00:09:32 So, like, I'm a big, like, braid promise ring. Like, I'm a stand for all that stuff. And so when, like, brand new and taking back Sunday came out, I was like, new jacks. Yeah. Go put on a strife record. But what did core kids? side with between brand new? No, they were
Starting point is 00:09:47 pretty accepted. They definitely sided with brand new. I feel like taking back Sunday kind of went in like a different way. How did the relationship with closed casket start? I had been aware of them because I thought all the records that they did aesthetically looked sick. The packaging was always good? Stulled. Stulling is still cool? Maybe it was the
Starting point is 00:10:04 another victim one that they did. And I just became like aware of it. And we, I like messaged him on a whim and we started just kind of like talking. And I remember being surprised. I was like, oh, he's like, he's heard of us and like is interested. And it kind of like morphed because before that, a lot of the seven inches were, they were very DIY. And it was basically like, remember the time, which was like the goal of this is to get vinyl.
Starting point is 00:10:31 Yeah. That is the only thing we're looking for. It's like these guys are going to print vinyl for us. Yeah, yeah. A $5. I'm signing to Interscope. 100%. It's just that was the goal.
Starting point is 00:10:41 And so we had some ups and downs with, you know, a lot of the, a lot of the smaller labels doing the splits and stuff. And then Justin came along and we did the Zababo split on it. And it was like, oh, damn, this is like, this is amazing. What was that? Oh, man. It must have been like 20. 10 or 11? Yeah, 2010 or 2011.
Starting point is 00:11:00 I remember something with that. And you tell me if this is true. Yeah. Zabalba record. You guys were going to just do that BC voice cover, I believe, on that. Yeah. We had that. We did that.
Starting point is 00:11:10 and then we did like another song that never saw the light of day. But Zabalba recorded their side and you guys heard it and you were like, fuck, that's good. We should do something else. Yeah, I think so. There was something like that
Starting point is 00:11:21 and I remember being like, I can't put this stupid cover on it. Yeah, yeah. It's like, I want to take this seriously. Because Zababa songs on that is. They're awesome. They're so awesome. Even the same with Suburban Scum.
Starting point is 00:11:33 The tracks on that, like Drifter is a bangor song. That's the hit, dude. I know, yeah. All those splits were like a very, fun and weird time of us. And it's cool. It was like a cool little triangle of bands all doing splits together.
Starting point is 00:11:45 Yeah. Yeah. It was organic. It was fun and it felt like exciting. And it's funny now people being like, so why did you choose to do three splits? It was like, we didn't.
Starting point is 00:11:56 It was like we had an offer and we were like, sounds great. Yeah, of course. So it was fun. Cost of living is right after that. Mm-hmm. And that was where things changed.
Starting point is 00:12:06 Things changed. Yeah. I would say you guys, um, pioneered the system of, hey, we all have jobs. This is the other club. This is the other club. The club of guys with jobs who can only do this on the weekend.
Starting point is 00:12:22 Yep. So if you want to see us, it's only going to happen a couple times a year. We'll see you when you see you. Yeah. Yeah. Thank you. As another member of the club. As a member of the club, I can only thank you.
Starting point is 00:12:35 We were just feeling around in the dark back then, man. Truly. I had no idea. God, did you make it work? Yeah. Yeah, we did, the only thing was in that era, post cost of living, it definitely was alike. Oh, now there is demand. But then by that time, we were older and then it became weirder.
Starting point is 00:12:50 But we played a lot. Yeah. We did not play a lot in a row, but we played constantly. And like that era, we went to Europe a couple times. We went to the UK. Like, we did that. We did the California thing. Yeah, that was amazing.
Starting point is 00:13:05 Yeah, yeah. We did that. We played sound in fury. Yes. And then we did the thing with the sickest lineup in history. Maybe the sickest line up in history. It was us. It was switching tongues, incendiary, death threat, nails.
Starting point is 00:13:19 Yeah. And death threat was just like, so sick. The Aladdin Jr. show. Yes, dude. The Gilman one? I mean, it was like, yeah. Truly, I'll never forget those.
Starting point is 00:13:29 We played San Francisco, and me and Todd Jones drove the entire way in his car all the way to L.A. Just me and him, never met the guy. Hung out. He took me to Oxnard. We drove all the way. That's the long way. He drove me all the way to this lookout point, which ostensibly had a beautiful view. It was like, Pisu Fogg.
Starting point is 00:13:48 And he's like, this would have been sick. I'm like, all right, let's get back in the car. Nice. That's fun. Yeah, yeah. But like all of that time, we really did get around. We played as much as humanly possible. So it felt as if we were doing it.
Starting point is 00:14:06 Yeah. But what's cool is. The proof in this pudding of being in this club is that there's a demand to see you. Yeah. And there was ever since I became aware of incendiary. Yeah, I mean, the other thing that with all of that is like economically speaking, which I know is a very taboo topic. Yeah, we should talk about it.
Starting point is 00:14:29 I lived in, so after I went to college in New England and then I moved back to New York and I lived in the city. Yeah, MIT. No, I did not go to MIT. And New York, I don't know. if you guys know, it's actually pretty pricey. Oh, right. And so like the thought of, yeah, it's pricey. Pricy. I couldn't even fathom because I grew up with my friends who toured all living in their
Starting point is 00:14:53 parents' house. Yeah. That was just personally for me, not anything wrong with it. That was like a line I was not willing to cross. I was just like I refuse to move home. And so I didn't really see the there there. But looking back on it, I think it was just one of those things where it was not a conscious decision. Like, here's what we're going to do. We're going to pick a couple. It was just like,
Starting point is 00:15:13 they offered us this. We'll go do that. They offered us. It was very reactive. We don't have to lose our asses to play this show. So yeah, therefore we can play this show. Yeah. Or actually, more often than not, it was we can lose our asses on the show because we can go in the red or whatever for this one. And then we'll do a little bit more. And maybe we have to go into pocket for something. But like, this show is sick. Yeah. So we'll play it. And like, we can do. We can do dumb things that don't make as much financial sense because I have a job where I sit at a desk. And so that was the other benefit where it would be like, hey, can you fly? We used to go and I don't even know why, man.
Starting point is 00:15:52 We used to go to Ottawa all the time and play in Quebec. What is all the time? Like three times. Like in 2009 and 2010. That's so many times. That's a lot. That's a lot. I think that's as many times as I've been there.
Starting point is 00:16:06 That's like black flag level. Yeah. Yeah. You're metallic, you are Ottawa. And it was just like, well, they kept asking us to play. What do you wanted to do? So, yeah, that was kind of the vibe, man. And we had a, we just had so much goddamn fun.
Starting point is 00:16:17 So you grind it in a different way, basically. We grind it in a different way. Yeah. That's right. Yeah. In a more, you know, time effective. And now it's like a thing. Now it's a thing.
Starting point is 00:16:27 People save to me all the time. Who else is in that clip? Mind force. Mind force. Never ending game. Yeah. Mind force is a good call. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:36 There's another club, I would, argue they were part of. Tell me all about it. A fest killer. Oh, yeah. Along with Mind Force. There was a point in time where you were a band where I remember vividly thinking like, thank God we're not playing after that.
Starting point is 00:16:51 So not headlining the fest? Yeah. Like, this is hardcore. I specifically remember watching you guys from like behind a curtain at the electric factory and this is hardcore. And I think we played right before you. Okay. And being like, thank God.
Starting point is 00:17:04 Yeah. This is hard. That was funny. I was talking about this today. Those were a little bit of a game changer for us. Those fests were unbelievable. I think we did, it was like 2013 and 2015 or something like that, but they were, they changed like our band. And that, that was a very unexpected thing.
Starting point is 00:17:22 And this is hardcore was just crushing it. Like it was a really cool experience and Joe did it like, he still does an amazing job with it. But yeah, that was like a one where it was like, oh, shit. I've never seen this many people. Yeah. Yeah. The real marker for me was. To this day, my favorite fest, Rainfest.
Starting point is 00:17:39 The first time we played Rainfest, it was, like, it was totally unexpected. Which is crazy because Seattle, I'll do respect to Seattle. Seattle can have a thing where they, like, resent bands not from Seattle for not playing Seattle. Yeah. But it can go the opposite, where it's like, we're dying for this. Like, wisdom and chains, huge in Seattle. Yeah. Really?
Starting point is 00:18:03 Yes. I think it was, like, incendiary wisdom. On that day. Yeah. Yeah. And they also, Rainfest kind of had that, that late 90s,
Starting point is 00:18:13 like heavy hardcore vibe to it. But that one was awesome because at the time, we were playing in Brooklyn a lot and it was, our shows were like very violent at that time, which, you know, cool and not cool. And then we played in Seattle and I was like, I don't know how this is going to go.
Starting point is 00:18:32 And like a bunch of people were singing along. And I was like, oh, wow. That was kind of like a paradigm. Oh, that can happen for us? That's crazy. Exactly. Which is, which is interesting to because not all heavy bands get sing-alongs being in one. Yeah. It was always like, I'm envious at times of the lack of a horseshoe that bands like yours. Do you equate that to how you present vocals, like whether it's your crystal clear. Yeah, like enunciation. Annunciation is the most not talked about thing yeah i don't think we've ever trying to enunciate josta josta jane honestly yeah yeah yeah good call
Starting point is 00:19:13 wow yeah and the higher register i think is it like lends to the way you being able to understand and like wow yeah that i that's interesting where the words cut through versus more than just like the noise it's i think that's a big part of it um hopefully like some of the songs are good too which the songs and your lyrics are great and your delivery is great no i i think uh Like I said, I distinctly remember that show. And everyone was standing up front. I was like, oh, we're not going to have the horseshoe. Wow.
Starting point is 00:19:43 That was like the first conscious thought of that. Yeah, we had like this one song sinking that we played in the, in the dark age era of like 2008, 2009 of that did really well in Long Island. Is that kind of like. Dund, dund, dund, dint, d'n, d'n, d'n, is that that one? No, it's, um, oh, I don't even know how it goes. You know that one? No.
Starting point is 00:20:03 You know that. Dan, dun, now I know. Oh, yeah, that one crushed. Yeah, that one crushed. You don't remember. Dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun. Oh, oh, oh, yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:15 I think that's Antichrist. Yeah, that's a bang. Yeah. Is that track one? That is track two. Banger. We should bring that back. Bring it back.
Starting point is 00:20:24 We should bring it back, yeah. The old song thing is funny because, like, you know, like legendary bands, like, it's like, oh my God, Mattow is going to play something off and kill them all. Yeah. We're the opposite of that. So it's like, we'll be like, we're going to go into the vault for some early tunes. And everyone's like, I don't know what the song is. Whoa.
Starting point is 00:20:41 That's how God's hate is already. It's fucked up. Can't play any of that. But that is a band. That's a band's dream. I know. To have people like the new material. It is.
Starting point is 00:20:49 New album being the top streamed on Spotify is like, we did. You have bands that are six, seven albums in that are, that have to play most of the first album. Yeah. You got four. I also know from talking to last. Loudon that when everyone, when we were still on closed casket, like when everyone was on Close Casket who in like that era, that was some era. It was like the 2012 to 2014.
Starting point is 00:21:15 Yeah. Like the lineup shirts that he made, you know, where it was just like, holy, still got them. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Um, that era, I know for a fact that like, we may have been in like X amount, like pressing number whatever.
Starting point is 00:21:31 You were in pressing number whatever. and they were like... Two. You guys were in eight or something. Like eight or nine. Cost of living moved. Statistically number one. It moved. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:39 Big time. And like, I don't know if people, like, no one would know that, obviously, but like, that meant a lot at that time. Yeah. Not even talking money or anything silly like that. Just just like the amount of people who want this thing and to like have it physically in their home. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:57 I mean, it was very unexpected because at that, you guys know, it's like when it's, that for all intents and purposes, that kind of felt like our first album. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. And it's like, doesn't Pantera have the glam album or something nobody talks about? Yeah, it was kind of like that, right? Yeah, but like...
Starting point is 00:22:14 One without Phil. Yeah, but like it was, you're just... That's why so many bands, like, first albums are good because you're just, you're doing it blind. You don't know what you don't know. I had no idea what people were going to think of it when we put it out. Because we were never...
Starting point is 00:22:29 You know, like, your friends that are like, check out this, check this out. And they're playing it from the iPhone and it's like, you're like, yeah, man, sounds good. It's going to be on the new album. You're like, awesome, sounds great. We never did that. And so it was just all of like us.
Starting point is 00:22:42 And then we'd be like, I don't know if this is good. We didn't do fucking pre-production. Yeah. You just go in there and be like, okay, so what are you guys working with? 10 songs. Okay, so when are you going to trim? Nope, we got 10 songs. They're ready to record.
Starting point is 00:22:55 Here are the tracks. We're ready to go. So that's kind of the vibe. And so then you put it out into the, world and it's the weirdest feeling. It's still fun. It's very scary. And then a journalist put a number on it and...
Starting point is 00:23:06 Yep. Yeah, exactly. You're stuck with that. Yeah. And then you get cool Spotify numbers for a month and then you're like, all right. Yeah. But then, you know, as time goes on, the audience responds to it or choose it or doesn't respond to it.
Starting point is 00:23:20 Yeah. It's been a blessing. But in your case, responds to it. Yeah. And then you go, oh, no other statistic matters other than this. Yeah. That was like a blessing. It's been very unexpected, really.
Starting point is 00:23:31 really fun. I mean, like, I can't, if you told me, I started the band when I was 22 maybe or something, wait, 2007. Don't do this, man. Yeah, like, I don't know. A young buck. Yeah. You were, if you're like, you're going to be old as hell and you're still going to be doing it. And you're like, no, no, it's no way. So it's awesome. It's awesome. Beautiful. Feels great. You're a peacock, man. Yeah. Yeah. So third album. Pressure. You felt that? A little bit. Yeah. Cost of living was truly of, a phenomenon, as we discussed, two minutes ago. There was pressure.
Starting point is 00:24:06 Did Putney do that one too? Yeah. Did he do cost of living? No. Who did cost of living? Jeremy, I forget his last name. He was somehow affiliated in that Jersey thing. Okay.
Starting point is 00:24:19 Love the way that, love the production on that one. Do you? Yeah. Yeah, we've had different productions. We used to record the splitser with Will Killingsworth. Oh, yeah, the homie. If anyone new band or something is, think Will still does stuff.
Starting point is 00:24:32 Are you guys familiar with him? I don't think I am. I think he was an orchid. And he records in Amherst, Massachusetts. All analog, like, for anyone looking to record, he is amazing. I loved going up there. That was, like, some of the, still, in my opinion, like, some of the best sounding stuff of the bad.
Starting point is 00:24:49 Yeah. So, real. Playing live. Like, it was awesome. But, yeah, and then we found Will. And then Putney did last two. Yeah, yeah. Tell me about, tell me a little bit about putting the third one together.
Starting point is 00:24:59 Thousand miles there. It was good. it felt like we were like it felt more pro yeah will was like the cool thing about will is that he liked our band yeah which i guess i almost feel like that sounds funny but it's like no it's huge and especially after talking to him we just talked to him like that's such a big thing for him yeah that he that like there is some he openly talked about like well i got to pay some bills and a hundred sometimes that's how it is because you always have that in the back of your mind it's like oh man he probably thinks this stinks blah blah blah and no it was he's he we had met him
Starting point is 00:25:31 before that and he was like I would love to do it. Wow. That's awesome. That's really cool. Yeah, yeah. So we'd kind of felt like we had like an advocate. And then you have Justin who's like, hey, whatever you need. Let's do this thing. Money's no object. I'm just kidding. But no, it was awesome. But really just work is no object for him because he believes in his team.
Starting point is 00:25:51 He's always, I mean, like he, you guys know, he's just been like. The best. A very important sounding board. Yeah. and really like good sanity checker for a lot of things. Like, does this suck? Is this cool? Like, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:26:06 Yeah, they'll shoot you straight. Yeah. Oh, yeah. He'll shoot you straight for sure. So it was a good experience. And I was, that is like I was, for the first time, I'm very critical of myself. That was the record where I was like, I love this. I love how I sound on this.
Starting point is 00:26:21 For the first time, I was very happy with the vocals on it. We did, you did, a. least a week or so of life and death, right, that we did together. Yes, sir. Which I think was 2014 or 16. They steal all the shows? No. It was a stacked lineup.
Starting point is 00:26:40 It was a stacked lineup. We played Ham Tramick. We played Toronto. Great name, isn't it? Made it up. Fake as hell. Fake as name. Toronto. Pretty sure we played DC.
Starting point is 00:26:50 We played like DC proper. Jesus. Holy shit. I know you could do that anymore. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But I know, I remember it. Yeah. It was like Toronto.
Starting point is 00:26:57 Oh, yeah. Hamtramick or whatever is, is Michigan, right? Yes. It rocked. It rocked. It was an awesome tour. But I just remember like, I remember feeling like, oh shit, they're, they're touring. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:10 You're in a van. Look at us. You know, they, you've been in the van with you. Yeah. A couple times. We had a minivan for a while. That was the touring rig. Huge.
Starting point is 00:27:17 First tour was down to Florida in, uh, in Lemelli's Nissan Quest with a trailer. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:25 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You're first time in. California was with a little band called Sleepwalkers. God damn right. How'd that go? Blast. Yeah. So much fun. Sleepwalkers was fronted by a man named Nate Bluvelt.
Starting point is 00:27:39 I don't know who that is. Now known as Brody King. Oh. Oh, yes. Yes. Him. Yes. Shows were not amazing. No. But fun. Found out how Big California was. Oh, yeah. It's a big place. Did you play like Redding or something? We did. We definitely played in a garage in Sacramento maybe. We did. We definitely played in, or one time we played Davis when we were out there.
Starting point is 00:28:02 No, I think it was, it was a garage slash barn. Was that good though? No. Oh, okay. So I've played a garage slash barn. Fuck, where was it?
Starting point is 00:28:11 Some of the shows I feel like we're good. I feel like we play California all the time. You did, yeah, you did. The Aladdin Junior shows were unbelievable. Yeah. I think we played the Colbalt. You played the Colbalt?
Starting point is 00:28:21 You played the Colbalt? Yeah. There it is. And then we also played, what's the one that's like in a strip mall, really small? Which one? Kind of legendary, I think.
Starting point is 00:28:28 think. Shade reaction? No. Sacramento. No, no, no, no. In L.A? Southern California. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:35 Strip mall. Yeah, isn't it? Yes. I'm like, oh, man, it's going to get me. Strip mall. Was it like a studio, too? There are like practice spaces in it too? Sound City.
Starting point is 00:28:44 No, that's a rock city and Camarillo. Yeah, yeah. Dude, I loved the place. This was awesome. Yeah, it was. The guy came back and he talked like that. He would go, you guys need pizza or burgers or anything? The, like, the little practice rooms were your green rooms.
Starting point is 00:28:56 Oh, the green rooms with practice. It was awesome. Ronnie. was the guy's name. Shout out Ron. Didn't we play there? That was the nails. That was it.
Starting point is 00:29:02 Yeah. It was awesome. Man. Can you imagine doing that now? We should. Be at MSG, dude. We could do that. The death with the lineup.
Starting point is 00:29:11 That's right. With the boys with Wes and everyone. Come on. You're the best band. Game over. All right. A thousand miles there. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:18 Tell me about putting that record together. Brutal or what? Yeah. Kind of. Challenged. Just tried really hard. Yeah. It shows.
Starting point is 00:29:27 Thank you. It was great. I definitely felt like we had like, okay, we need to like work on it. And like, well, more of like a like not baggage. What's the word? Just like, cost of living did unexpectedly well. Right, right. So it's like, oh shit, there we go.
Starting point is 00:29:40 If we don't do that again. Yep. Is it our fault? We prepped a lot for it. We practiced a lot. It really sounds like it. Yeah. We were ready to rock.
Starting point is 00:29:49 It sounds like five guys in a room going, we're not leaving this funny. And we got to get tighter. Yeah. Nothing else on the table. Nothing else in the tank. Oh, that was like, this is the. material out. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:59 Like how gnarly was the idea of writing another record after that record? Like, no, this is never happening. We're never doing that again. We just wanted to wait until it was more, like, less, like, paint. Like, you don't have, it's not like we have an album cycle to worry. Right, right, right. The impetus for doing another one was like, I started to, I was like, I can't subject these poor people to these songs anymore.
Starting point is 00:30:20 Like, I know that's not how most people think, but like when you're in a band, you're like, we're doing this, we got to put out new stuff. Yeah, right. We just have to. And we wanted to wait. I knew that if we forced something, it was going to suck. Sure. And so, but yeah, dude, doing a fourth album, suicide.
Starting point is 00:30:34 Dude, it's suicide. It sucks, man. And, like, the powers that be, like, the forces of hardcore is like, no, you're supposed to break up. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. People are just going to either not like you. Yeah. Or you, or you break up. So, but.
Starting point is 00:30:49 And you, I will say, you did a fourth album without compromising anything about who you guys are. No, it, it was, recording. that was like a blast. Where'd you do that one? With Will at his new studio. At the news studio. Is it nice there? Yes. Yes, it is. Did that and then he has like a drum. He would love this. He has his own drum cabin. Drum cabin. You play drums, right? I play drums. You been known to smack him around. What are you doing in the drum cabin?
Starting point is 00:31:16 Record drums. Nice. It's a place just for drums. We don't know. We don't even have to hear it. We just. It's amazing. Yeah. It's just picture it. I love it. So we'd go there. He has the best coffee all the time. Oh yeah, he's a big. So I would just drink this coffee that like I'm, I'm not that kind of guy like I'll buy the fancy coffee. Yeah. But I don't do the like, I don't make pour over. Like I don't do that stuff at home. I have like a straight up coffee pot. Mr. Coffee? And not Mr. Carl, a little bit. It's a brawn. Oh. Oh. Yeah. So, you know. Brown. They got some brown. They got good. They got good. It's, like, I love it. And I drink illy coffee, the Italian coffee. Oh, yeah. But Will has. No, dude, it's, no, it's very good. Are you like an espresso
Starting point is 00:31:57 Man or something. Been known to have a I like if I see it like if I see a logo while I'm walking around in Europe. I know. I'm not but I don't buy that logo when I'm at home. Interesting. You know what you mean.
Starting point is 00:32:08 Like Costa coffee is now available at AMC theaters. Yeah. And it makes me want to burn the whole place down. Coastal living. Coastic sometimes we say that. Get it? I really do. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:18 I'm an eye ride for I'll. I'll give it a shot. He's he. I can't handle that coffee. Motor oil. It makes me feel like, no, it makes me feel I'm going to take a heart attack and die. Really? I love that. It's that strong stuff. Yeah. It's like when you have the coal brew that you're like, for me, I'm just like, I'm going to die.
Starting point is 00:32:36 I wonder what it is. Like I don't feel more awake, but my heart is milking. It's the skeleton meme. Oh, yeah, yeah, it's a skeleton meme. Yeah, exactly. But, you know, it puts some hair on your chest. It's kind of fun to fuck around with. So, yeah. So that's probably the best part. No, I'm just kidding. But the coffee. The coffee and then the drum cap. Coffee was great. And the sick amp setup that he has. Yeah. Yes. It's pretty cool. He's a guitar guy. Yeah. How, how intensive was that recording process? Like, how many vocal days did you have?
Starting point is 00:33:02 What a good question. Probably, like, not as many as I thought. I think, like, three. But we did pre-pro. Yeah, which was just game changer. Two days. Isn't it the best? Yes.
Starting point is 00:33:14 It's amazing. And then you start, you're like, oh, whoops, I should have been doing this the whole time. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But sometimes some of the magic is in the organic sauce. It is. It is, but again, the impartial third party, where what Will is good at is like, why do you just go like that?
Starting point is 00:33:28 And you're like, oh, crap, that's way better. Fuck. Just to do it against lower, damn it. And then he's also not in the band. So it's like, if you have an idea, you know, and like, oddly saying, and I'm like, no, that sucks. And then Willis say the same thing. I'm like, you know what? He has a point.
Starting point is 00:33:45 It's pretty good. Well, he's a producer and a fan. It's huge. And that's why it's like. No, it was, it was, when you're like trying to do things quick, you're like, But like we just did this take. Like you could use that take and just use that. But then it becomes very important.
Starting point is 00:34:01 I can't imagine not doing it anymore. No, absolutely. Just once you go back. How are the new songs going over live? I think pretty good. Good. We haven't really had a ton of a chance to like do them. Yeah, you're starting the cycle.
Starting point is 00:34:15 Yeah, well, because I had a, I had our first kid like mere months after the album came out. What's the name? Sadie. Sadie. Yeah. She's a cutie pie. Say it if you're watching. She's watching.
Starting point is 00:34:27 Go to go to bed. It's so late. No more blueie. No more blueie. Turn bluey off. She watched the Jocelyn as soon as it came out. I know. She did.
Starting point is 00:34:35 A lot of people. She liked that one? Yeah, she loved it. She loved it. The not one truth anecdote was fascinating. Not one. She said she already knew that. She did.
Starting point is 00:34:43 She'd seen that painting in the museum with the whole lyrics on it. But yeah. So it's been, it's been good. It's been, they're fun to play. And then I like, I have the songs that I love. So I'm kind of like, well, I don't care what people like this or not. I like it. I mean, that's why. It feels for us. It feels it does feel nice. Fourth album is better be for you. Yeah, exactly. And it was a big, I think it was six years.
Starting point is 00:35:07 So like that's a big break between albums. So I didn't feel as much like it's, you don't feel like you're shoving it down people's throat because it was six years. Yeah, right. Of course. I think I think Thousand Mouse there is 2017. So like it is. It's a long time in 2023. Yeah. So it was fun. It was great doing it with with Will. Brian had a vision. Rob had a vision. It was fun. Love it vision.
Starting point is 00:35:31 Yeah. Spent a tremendous amount of time on it. Almost drove myself crazy. It's worth every second of it. It's great. I forgot the putting out an album. Dude, it sucks. It's wild.
Starting point is 00:35:42 The worst part is having it done and just sitting. Nothing worse. Oh my God. Tell me about it. Nothing. Don't even fucking get me started. It's all he does. All I do is wait for albums to come out.
Starting point is 00:35:54 I want to just be like, I don't care. Just like make it be worse. Like, just have it be worse. I got two in the tank right now. Just put it out now. I have to listen to you by myself. And then you, it comes out and it's like, it's like when you like ordered food and you, it took a really long time. And so when it finally comes out, you're like, I don't even want this.
Starting point is 00:36:13 I know. I got a new meal. I know. This, I know, bite the hook. Watching a trail. I want to see this new movie now. Exactly. I want to see the new planet of the apes.
Starting point is 00:36:22 It's very difficult. Have you seen that trailer? No. It's unbelievable. And then how about some of the COVID folks, sitting on albums for... That's exactly. I had to do that a little bit, but... Two years.
Starting point is 00:36:33 What was your time frame? Recorded August 2019, released March 2021. And then every band does the same thing. What's going on with the vinyl? Why doesn't someone just open up a vinyl plant? And then Jack White does it. And then we still print and Prague. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:52 Yeah. And then it's all that like the... the rumors, it's like Taylor Swift put out, printed six million copies of her live B. We just talked to Dian Fetus about this and I told them a fact that I guess I'm going to repeat on here. Let's hear it. The thing that initially upset the vinyl industry was the Cardi B. Wetass Pussy single.
Starting point is 00:37:13 Really? 60,000 copies. 60,000 seven inches. Wet ass pussy. I started that song for the first time. Wet ass pussy? Yeah. You know how I heard it?
Starting point is 00:37:20 Because it's in that movie about the GameStop stock. Dumb money. Great. Was it good? Watch it on the flight. Oh, really? I loved it. And that song is prominently positioned.
Starting point is 00:37:30 Is that an NBC universal picture? It is not, I don't think. Pardon this interruption. We've got to tell you about some very important things. First things, first, Beau. Oh, what do you got there? Oh, this is just my AG1 that I drink every single day. Pardon me for a second.

It's, you know, if it's body wash, crop preserver, crop reviver, handyman, lawnmower 5.0, it's a good box. Let me tell you what. Listen, I was deeply satisfied with the old lawnmower. Yes. I was deeply satisfied before the handyman came along. And they just keep making things to make their stuff better. It's unbelievable. It's great. The lawn, the new lawn. The new lawn. on more being USBC at first
Starting point is 00:39:22 I was concerned with. No, no, no. I love it. I love it. I love it. I don't like to have to use a charging stand. A proprietary gimmick is bad. It's bad. You being able to plug it in and just start trimming is incredible. It's great. It's truly
Starting point is 00:39:38 truly a life changer. It's waterproof so you can take it in the shower and do all your stuff, do everything you need. Which is where you should be doing it. Sickos. Agreed. The crop mop, amazing. Wipes. just for your bare butt balls and back. And the body wash smells unbelievable.
Starting point is 00:39:57 There's a crop wash now, the crop cleanser. Oh. It's a wash just for down there. Wow. Can you believe that? What do they get if they use code hardlore? They get 20% off and free shipping. Yeah, unbelievable.
Starting point is 00:40:11 It's the best deal I've ever heard. Ever. So what are you waiting for, really? What's the excuse? Come on. Valentine's Day is coming up, ladies. Valentine's Day was yesterday Valentine's Day
Starting point is 00:40:23 just happened so Easter's coming you gotta escape your man and you got to escape them eggs and make sure that's right go to hard Lord
Starting point is 00:40:39 don't fuck this up do it back to the episode do you have a favorite NBC Universal movie of all time well I mean I'm like a huge office Parks and Rec guy oh huge
Starting point is 00:40:50 Parks and Rec is like I actually kind of like eclipse did probably. You think so? For me, the rewatcher. I mean, like the office is,
Starting point is 00:40:58 I'm an office stand, obviously. I mean, we and Colin. We talked to line. The trivia. Remember that? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:03 Oh, quiz up. I was, I was the other one. He was talking to, he was talking to, like, a frustrating way.
Starting point is 00:41:10 I was number one on earth at office quiz. It was on, it was so annoying. I'm sorry. We must have played like, probably like 15 games. He beat me every time.
Starting point is 00:41:18 Every single one. Just so fast. It's not, I'm sorry. I don't have the memory. But now I'm, where are you on Parks and Rec? You're both office fans, right? Yeah, but I love Parks.
Starting point is 00:41:28 I would say Michael Scott over everyone ever. Of course. Over Leslie, for sure. Yes. Parks and Rec had more regard for every character. The ensemble. The whole ensemble was taken care of, and everything was wrapped up. A lot more stronger overall.
Starting point is 00:41:44 Way better finish. Way better. They cut it early. The whole time leap forward thing was cool, and it didn't feel weird. No. It's the, I love it. When I'm going to put on something like everyone has their comfort show, I'm Parkinson Rec now, man. What's yours?
Starting point is 00:42:01 Uh, comfort show. YouTube. Yeah, YouTube premium. Fail Army. That's mine. I watch Fail Army today. It was awesome. They started you doing a thing that's really pissing me off.
Starting point is 00:42:12 They pixelate and blur out the impact of a fall. Oh, what's the point? What is the fucking point? That's like pixelating like when the ball goes in the basket. It's the whole, I think it's the whole, I think it's, like a YouTube algorithm thing where they're like... Is it a fail army? Like kids getting hurt and stuff?
Starting point is 00:42:26 It's everyone getting hurt. But the best part is... I'm an early kids getting hurt. Dude, when they went private, were you still in? Oh, I've been in for years,
Starting point is 00:42:32 man. Dude, you love a good squarp? A good scorp? Dude, I don't know what that is. When the kids go... Oh, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:38 When they bend the wrong way, dude, so awesome. You know how it's gonna be good when you have to, when it's blurred out. And you have to accept it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:45 And then on the bottom, I tell God, this is just so messed up. Because then on the bottom, like, the really bad ones, they're like, don't worry, little Timmy was fine. And it's like, there's no way he was fine. Dude, they squirp in half. It's awesome.
Starting point is 00:42:57 Two pieces. That's why I love Fail Army is because it'll always say, like, driver survived or whatever. Like, it doesn't show gore or broken bones or anything. Such a low bar. Driver survived. That's my bar. He's fine. It's like when the one where he falls off the ladder on QVC.
Starting point is 00:43:12 Oh, that was awesome. He's moving. He is okay. It's like, this man is not okay. We bonded over the guy getting his hand caught in the Lamborghini. Oh my dude, that is unreal. I got to be honest with you, Colin, sometimes I'll, if I'm like feeling blue, I'll just put it on. They cut it at the perfect time.
Starting point is 00:43:37 Dominole garage. Taal, ta, ta, ta, me, me, me, mea. Okay. Holy shit, dude, I haven't thought about that in years. Is the noise real, you think? 100%. 100%. It's cut at the...
Starting point is 00:43:50 It's like, there is a Twitter account. I think that it cuts all of the things at like the right, the weirdest time. Screams cut off or something. Have you seen the one going around right now where it's a guy reaching his hand through the letter slot on a door? And the guy hits it with the bat. And then they edit in the Jerry scream from Tom and Jerry. It's sort of like, it's so good.
Starting point is 00:44:13 Here it is. Nice. Yeah. I'm a big fan of the QVC sword. Oh, that was one that broke my band. Oh, it got me. Oh, it got me.
Starting point is 00:44:31 It just got me, O'Dell. And then O'Dell comes in, it's like, we may need emergency surgeries in the studio. The latter one, the lady was much more professional. She was like, and that is not supposed to happen.
Starting point is 00:44:46 Yeah, yeah. And it's like he is moving. Is it where it folds the wrong way? Or where the guys in the background? He falls so goddamn hard. It's like the, It's the telescoping ladder. I can't wait to watch this later.
Starting point is 00:44:55 He's in the back. It's the telescoping ladder. It's like in this like fake house. I know exactly the one. He puts it up to this like circular window. And he takes like a rag. He takes one step down, misses the other one and falls off of it on his back from what like 12 feet.
Starting point is 00:45:12 Dude, it's so brutal that if it was in like a movie, you would be like, he'd be dead. Yeah. Come on. Yeah. And then it's like, you know, you got the lady, the grapes.
Starting point is 00:45:21 Squad on the grape. Oh, dude. Oh, stop, oh, stop, stop, stop. I wonder, that may have been the first one of that kind. That was a real, like, innovative one. Like, that video set up a lot of great things. Because, you know, she tells the lady to stop. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:45:35 And then she cheats. She cheats. Yeah. And then she gets out and she gets what's coming. You remember Scarlett takes the tumble? No. Dude, you don't remember Scarlett Takes the tumble? I'm a pretty big early internet guy.
Starting point is 00:45:45 Okay. This is, this is speaking of my language. You don't know, describe it. I may not know my name. She's standing on a table singing. and she gets a little too far to the front and the table flips over and she goes Oh yeah
Starting point is 00:45:56 She's standing She's like She's like I know exactly I know exactly the one The ones where they fall like The skaters fall on the rail And then it plays like the dancing frog song
Starting point is 00:46:11 Like D-Dun da da And they like go into space That's good shit That is I mean The kids these days What they got with their Injury memes are amazing
Starting point is 00:46:20 And E-BOMS world old video. Hell yeah. Where a kid throws a pair of scissors at another kid. Yeah, yeah. Stick in his arms. Yes. Yep.
Starting point is 00:46:27 Do you know this one? No. Dude, we don't know if it's fake or real or not. I think it's, I know exactly what you're talking about. They're bothering a kid and they spray him with a water bottle, but they're doing that, ooh, and they spray him.
Starting point is 00:46:38 And as the kid grabs scissors and you hear a kid in the background going, oh, no, scissors. Yeah, yeah. And he just goes, and then, and then you hear like five guys going, oh, oh. And this kid walks in. He's like, there is a pair of scissors. scissors sticking out of my fucking arm. I have to go to the hospital. That's how
Starting point is 00:46:57 he says it. I swear to God. Here it is. I have to go to the fucking hospital. My eBomb Ebaum's World Ones are Hello my future girlfriend. Hello my future girlfriend. And this is the best podcast ever. This is like Bye. Thanks for stopping by.
Starting point is 00:47:14 That one. And then the Dealooza. Chris, you ever see that one? where it's like a dramatic reading. I'll send you that one. Oh, is that you make me hold your hands for stupid reasons? Yes. I love that one.
Starting point is 00:47:26 I knew you would be. I knew you'd be. You guys would be on my page. Yeah, who could forget the leprechaun? Lepercon. Oh, yeah. I mean, that's like,
Starting point is 00:47:35 mobile Alabama. That's the best YouTube video of all time. Yeah. The best one of all right. I'm with you. I'm really into the new trend of dudes filming themselves just like existing.
Starting point is 00:47:44 Like the guy going to get McDonald's at midnight. Oh. So awesome, dude. They set up tripods everywhere. So it's like him and his apartment texting like real life
Starting point is 00:47:54 like regular. I can't hang out tonight. And then he's like snack run. And then he showers puts on clothes picks up McDonald's. There's a tripod of him
Starting point is 00:48:03 in the drive-thru and then he goes home. I saw one of a guy going to like Walmart. Dude, Target. Unbelievable. Does it have a finale or it's just?
Starting point is 00:48:11 No, it's just like look at me, watch me do my thing. I can get down with that. The quality is incredible. I know exactly what you're talking about.
Starting point is 00:48:18 Like the production value you mean? And dude, you look at the comments, these men are being annihilated. Yeah, just, just crucified. It's like, you fucking loser, scumbag. Because they're just setting up a tripod and they're like, it's them parking. So they set up a tripod across the parking lot, parked, got out, picked up the tripod,
Starting point is 00:48:36 showed them checking the eggs in the aisle. From across the way, you know, it's like a whole thing. That's the new highest farm. Do you see that IRL more living where you, in the city that you live in? Like, you see a lot of like, influence. in the wild kind of stuff. Not in Chicago. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:53 But Nick and I went to a gym in San Diego on this past tour. And there were multiple ring lights. Multiple ring lights. It was like an influencer gym straight up. They're out there for sure. Yeah. But like not in a way that they're doing it and everybody around them accepts them. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:10 Everybody's still like you fucking lose. I don't know, man. It's a little bit more normalized now. Yeah. New York it's a blood bath, dude. Yeah. You can't go anywhere without somebody being like, It's insane.
Starting point is 00:49:20 It's crazy. You get ass stuff on the street? No, you see people doing it all the time. Yeah. And like the selfie sticks thing is still a thing. I feel like that went away. Yeah. It's never.
Starting point is 00:49:34 No one told Midtown Manhattan that. It's still around. Tourists or content creators? I think it's like both. They're one and the same, I think, right? Because it's like, this is my trip to New York. So let me tie this back into music. how do you feel about everyone having a potential for creating a viral clip being at shows?
Starting point is 00:49:57 Not participating necessarily the way that they would have 15 years ago. Yep. Because, and let me say disclaimer, what are we doing right here? Yeah, come on. I obviously. I have many feelings on this. I think that I get concerned, I realize the grave irony of this comment where we are. I get concerned about local S gigs.
Starting point is 00:50:20 Like local gigs, regular local bands where nobody is filming and everyone is hanging out and there's 75 people there. That needs to continue like really, really hard. And I think that like obviously there's like an inertia to more of like events. And I think it's been great because I think it's good for people. I think there's like a social element that I feel like I didn't really have hardcore. Like I didn't have friends going to hardcore. or like kids do now. And I think,
Starting point is 00:50:48 like around the country or in Long Island? I mean, I had some on Long Island, but like not to the extent. Yeah, now people are like, oh, my buddy in Saskatoon.
Starting point is 00:50:56 It's like, wow, how did you do that? You know what I mean? Yeah, but no, I think like, so there's,
Starting point is 00:51:00 that's where it's great, but like there's still, it can't be like at the detriment of regular as hard for shows. I see what you're saying. Where nobody is there to do anything but like hang out in Japan. Like I, everything can't always be that sick. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:51:15 Like, It's good to have... It's impossible. It's impossible. It's good to have regular shows. And regular expectations. Regular shows, regular expectations. Yeah, I definitely, I think there is, there's definitely an element that I've seen of that over the years changing.
Starting point is 00:51:27 I think there's, it's kind of two sides of the same coin where, yeah, I can see exactly that. And then I can see how beneficial social media has been to this kind of music because the kids are so young now. It's a really good thing. Love it. But then it's also... We missed that for a while. The median age was like... 25 for men. Now it's
Starting point is 00:51:47 18, 19. The diversity that, like the females, everything, it's amazing. It's never been. It's never been more diverse. There's so many unbelievable benefits from it. I just think the benefits, I'll say this, the benefits drastically outweigh the negatives. I think it's a numbers thing too because you can go out there and watch like during TUI and see a hundred phones up.
Starting point is 00:52:11 Yeah. But they're filming 400 people participating in a show. Yeah. You know what I mean? It's kind of a numbers thing too where if someone takes a picture of people holding up their phones, yeah, that looks crazy, but then turn the camera and yeah, that's fucking crazy. I also feel like I'm biased because like I don't really like watching live sets, except for, I'm big into Euro metal fest.
Starting point is 00:52:33 Like, like Cannibal Corp at Vokin. Oh, dude. All day long I'm watching that, but like- You love nasty too. Oh, yeah. You're the number one nasty fan. You're the best biggest American nasty fan. Yeah, yeah, there's probably some contenders. Do they know? Do they know that?
Starting point is 00:52:46 Yeah, I love them. Shout out to nasty. They're an unbelievable band that doesn't get talked out, talked about. It's not so hard as nails. Dude, please. Please, check them out. They're an amazing band. I'm a huge fan.
Starting point is 00:52:59 Unironic, by the way, just to be clear. I'm a stand. No, they're awesome. I love the music video in the tour bus where they're like air guitaring. They are, I mean, that's genius. It's unbelievable. It's genius. We need to do something.
Starting point is 00:53:11 There is a video of Maddie dancing at a show. and it is the awesomest, funniest, sickest thing ever. He is like, he does these like little kickies kind of in the air. Just obviously to like make his band laugh, which is like very like up my alley. He's like pitting? No, no, not hardcore dancing. He's got like swag for days.
Starting point is 00:53:35 Like I can only dream of having that kind of swag. No, it's an amazing clip. They just, they got their own thing going and they rock. So I'm a big fan. How has Incendiary. done historically in Europe? Pretty well. The UK,
Starting point is 00:53:49 again, like we, going back from before, we actually played in the UK quite a bit. We probably toured there, even if it was a three shows, so that's, you know, whatever. But like we've probably been there distinctly, like seven times, eight times. I feel like that's kind of a lot. Yeah, yeah. So the UK's
Starting point is 00:54:05 always great. And then Paris has been amazing to us. Oh, man. The Netherlands is awesome. We've, we're really... Belgium? You fuck with Belgium? Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. I mean, we try to get there as much as possible. We're going to do some stuff over the summer. That's just like a five-hour flight for you, huh?
Starting point is 00:54:20 It's not bad. London, I'm a big... You're right there. Right there. What's only to heat through? 11 hours or something? Nine, 10? It's like us in Hawaii.
Starting point is 00:54:29 I'm like, it's so goddamn fun. Oh, no. Well, I'm saying. Yeah, I know. How often you go to Hawaii? Twice as a band ever? Oh, not as a band. I mean, I'm trying to sit at each.
Starting point is 00:54:40 Yeah, you like have to go to London as a band. And it's like, okay, I'm... It's a lot easy. My body's fucked up. You guys can go to Japan easier, though, which is the best place in the world. Yeah, but that's still what? 12 hours versus 15. Is it still 12 hours from?
Starting point is 00:54:53 Yeah, I think it's like 10.5.11? Yeah, that's, which isn't 12. It sucks. But it still. It sucks. Might as well. Yeah, no, we, we haven't given enough love, especially Germany. That's like something I want to, I'd love to try to play there more if we can.
Starting point is 00:55:06 Yeah. But it's hard. What's the dynamic like in its end year? So good. Do you guys love each other? Yeah. You love them all? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:55:15 Describe them to me. Well, we have, well, first, I mean, we have a very understanding kind of a vibe lately where it's like if someone has something going on, it's, we have like a big like no questions ask ask, ask, ask, don't tell. Not that is just in terms of like being very accepting. Like you can't do this gig, no problem. Like you don't have to justify why. Is there anything you could do to make the hard?
Starting point is 00:55:40 Just being like, all right, you got your own stuff going on. That's beautiful. Describe everybody. Let's see. Tell me about Brian Audley. Love him. Great guy. Tall.
Starting point is 00:55:50 Look, he's 100% related to Mike DeJon, right? Look very similar. Dude, something's there. They need to get it checked out. Both great guitar players. Yes. Both tall. Both tall.
Starting point is 00:56:01 Slender. Similar facial structure. Yeah. They got it. They're buddies. Mike is awesome. They're more than buddies. He is the best guy in the world.
Starting point is 00:56:08 We got. Mike, you already know how I feel. He's the best. They're related. They got to get. it checked out. Brian, if you're watching. He's the tallest, right? Isn't...
Starting point is 00:56:18 Oddly? I believe he's... No, not even in the band. Like, in the scene. I believe the last time I saw him, I asked. Are you the tallest guy, you know, who's, like, involved in... Well, Sunami man. You got big Brett. Brett's taller?
Starting point is 00:56:32 He's taller. He's taller than Brian. I think Brett's 6-7. Sunami man's 6-7, too. Yes, he's very tall. He's a lanky, man. He's a tall boy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:41 Wow. I think he takes the crown. Tell me about Robcat. Man, great, great guitar player. Tell me about his great guitar player. Education. He went to Berkeley, I think. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:55 He's a great guitar player. For music? Went to Berkeley with the WWE guys. And that's how you guys got involved with that, right? Yeah, so that's how he met John. Those dudes are like musical prodigies. Yeah, they're insane. Castro.
Starting point is 00:57:09 Yeah, he's a nasty guitar player, loves YouTube, maybe as much as you got. YouTube? He's a big YouTube guy. Dude, same. Yeah. My favorite movie of all time. Loves YouTube. Great guitar player.
Starting point is 00:57:20 He's awesome. He's always tired. Oh man, I'm so tired. I'm like, you'll be all right, man. And then we got Dan LaMelle. Dude. Friend of the show, great friend of the show, Dan Lemieux. Dan is great.
Starting point is 00:57:33 He's a beacon of light and hope, I would say. Dan is the exact opposite of me in every single way. And that's what makes us get along so great. Really? tied I did these nuts shirt like you would not believe. Oh, yeah. And he has, he's been doing that for years.
Starting point is 00:57:49 Yeah, 100%. He actually said to me the other day, he's like, this is kind of like my, my crowning glory right now. Like a lot of people are like, really wearing a lot of elaborate things and wacky shirts nowadays.
Starting point is 00:58:01 My, my guy's been doing that for years. Oh, really? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So he's,
Starting point is 00:58:05 he's, he's a sweetheart. He's great. You guys are, you guys are all nice. Nice guys. You ever think about that? Uh,
Starting point is 00:58:13 no. I think we're nice. It's on the record now. I think we can be kind of like New York. And so people kind of find us a little bit like we just, we love hanging out. And so like I think I'm always cognizant of like when we're, if we're ever playing a show, that's a tour to try to not be so like, this is the best shit ever. You know what I mean? Like that's why we love hanging out with like never ending game and stuff. Because they're leaving it all in the field. They're all hanging out. They're awesome. They're so stoked to be doing this.
Starting point is 00:58:41 We're in the same place at the same time. It's borderline vacation. It's great. We're busy guys. Yeah. And then we're finally together. It's great. Isn't this great?
Starting point is 00:58:49 Especially post-pandemic. Where I'm like every show, I'm like, this is great. This is a, I love hanging out. I can't believe leaving the house now. Yeah. You like leaving the house? I used to. I used to be the guy who could, I could not sit still.
Starting point is 00:59:04 I hated being in the house. And now that has changed pretty progressively. You love being in the house? Yeah. Well, I was going to say, leaving the house is great. But you know what? Even better? Getting back home?
Starting point is 00:59:13 Going home. Oh, that's awesome. Oh, my God. I'm a sick, dude. Going home like an hour later than I would have wanted to most of the time. Yeah. Going to bed. You got any dogs?
Starting point is 00:59:23 Yeah. Sick, right? She's my, oh my God, my pride and joy. Our name's Matilda, but we call her Maddie. She's 13. Kind of looks like a fox. Adorable. Losing her hearing, losing her eyesight.
Starting point is 00:59:34 Even better. She's great. The rescued her when she was around one. So we've had her. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah. She's my ride or die.
Starting point is 00:59:40 Just the dog? Now, I have a kid now. So the dog is the same thing, right? No, I'm kidding. Yeah, no, no other pets. I am extremely allergic to cats. Cats, okay. And I am regular.
Starting point is 00:59:50 I'm regular allergic to dogs. Like, I'm allergic to my dog. I'm that to my cats. Yeah. So I have to be. Barrably allergic. Bearably allergic. So I have to be like hyper aware of their fur.
Starting point is 01:00:00 So my place is really clean because of it, which is kind of a, you know, it's a good thing. I'm on the allergy level of I'll walk into a house and just be like, hey, what's up? There's a cat here. There's a cat here. Yeah. Or a cat that, like, lived here in the early ages. You and Mike Sessario.
Starting point is 01:00:14 And Ringworm. I am destroyed. I'm destroyed. And people don't get it. No, you don't. They have to be allergic. They don't. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:21 Because in bands, you're like, I'm like, no, no, I can't stay at this house. I'll just die. And they're like, dude, no, they just vacuum, they said. I'm like, don't work. Was that Brian Aldley? Everybody. That was your Brian Audley. Don't work like that.
Starting point is 01:00:35 Yeah. It's a place to stay at it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I can't hang.
Starting point is 01:00:41 I grew to understand that touring with A. Ross was like that. And Andy Nelson from nachos is like that too. He can't. Well, there's an asthma element. It's like my throat closes up. I got to be taking Benadryl and stuff. And then you're going to see the hat man. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:00:56 Yeah. That's some good sleep, huh? Yeah. Oh, great sleep. Yeah. If it's kiddie related. Do you feel groggy in the morning? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:04 Yes. All day. That's why I can't fuck with it. It's up. But God. Yeah, it puts you out. If you don't have to do anything the next day, Rock and roll.
Starting point is 01:01:10 Great day. It's amazing. Yeah. And how's that legal? I don't know. It's just sleepy. I guess. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:16 It just feels so bad. We should try to see the Hatman and film it. Hatman, Harlow, Hauntler, Hatman? Yeah. I mean. We both take 10 and just. Ten? Dude, you have to take like a whole box.
Starting point is 01:01:27 You got to be careful, man. You do literally have to be careful. That's edge break. Hatman's Edgebrake. Yeah. You guys can't be playing around with that. No, I would never. Is anybody in Incendiary straight edge?
Starting point is 01:01:39 No. No. No way, dude. No. You got this fucker. Hey, dry January, baby. I'm nailed to the X right now. You dry?
Starting point is 01:01:47 You're only 70 a weekend. Yeah, Brian, all these, pretty relaxed. Yeah. Rob Codd, I've seen Wicked Hammer. And Lamele is... He hangs out. Captain Party, man. He hangs out.
Starting point is 01:01:58 Yeah, we all like to have a good time. And we got Yanni now. Yanni plays bass for us. He's awesome. Yanni of the band Kasbian. He's familiar? No. They're awesome.
Starting point is 01:02:07 Instrumental from Boston. really sick band. Like Russian circles vibe. Oh, hell yeah. He's been awesome to hang out with. We've been friends with him from home for years and so, and he hangs out too. So yeah, we hang out. Like a pot of Lager.
Starting point is 01:02:21 They're here and there. Favorite office character who isn't? Jim Pam, Michael Dwight. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I guess Ryan, like whoever's on the covers. That's pretty much all of them. Yeah, Andy would be on there, but who's picking Andy? Me.
Starting point is 01:02:37 He is. Are you serious? Well, not later, obviously, but when we first... Season 8, 9, Andy is one of the worst three of the characters. No argument, but season four, the merger? Yeah, he's great. I think I have my answer. Well, I have a major character and a minor real...
Starting point is 01:02:50 Perfect. Okay, so my, my, the character is Roy. Dude, I think he... Dude, dude, love Roy. Maybe Roy's cousin. I like more. Oh, my gosh. Excuse me.
Starting point is 01:03:00 Yeah. Yeah. D-U-I picture Roy is unreal. Just how they knock that out of the park. They just like, drag. He dragged his chin in Photoshop and left it. They were like perfect. With the bloodshot eyes.
Starting point is 01:03:13 It's incredible. Your art is the best art of all the art. He's just such an asshole. He's so good and he's so, he's like the most believable character on the whole show. Like that's how a guy would do. And when Pam talks about her first date and it was with Roy and she left him out of hockey game or whatever. Or he left her at hockey game.
Starting point is 01:03:29 And then I, I just love the, um, the Chili's episode with Tim, Tim, uh, what's his name? Meadows. Dude. Incredible. Dude. And that's a one time deal. The blinker from that. when Michael's like
Starting point is 01:03:40 Chili's and he just can't Oh yeah They can't get through Yeah They're fucking dying the whole time We were just scarily Is how lame I am Was just talking about that episode
Starting point is 01:03:48 When Michael finds out that she got a divorce And as they're walking to their seat He's looking into the camera like Oh my God It's so sick Andy would be my major If I can't pick him I'd have to think about it
Starting point is 01:04:01 But Jan I love Jan Off the rails Jan That is incredible acting She's an amazing She's an amazing actress. I see her at Arrow on sometimes.
Starting point is 01:04:11 Really? Oh yeah. She breaks the fourth wall with us the most. I think even more than just like I know I'm on camera. It's like it's like us, the viewer of office the show. I swear to God, some of the look she gives to the camera, like destroy me. Yeah. Is Creed an unfair answer?
Starting point is 01:04:29 I think. Because he's kind of designed to be the favorite. Right. Yeah. Jan is like obviously everyone loves the dinner party. Yeah. But even when like the one where Michael has the second. job and she picks him up and like the like monkey problems no I'm not having
Starting point is 01:04:41 monkey boxer or whatever why would I be having like dude no when she's like how was yoga I didn't go yeah just did it dude that's unbelievable and then also David Wallace dude David Wallace is go his son the drummer dude Danny yeah yeah do you like do you like chillaxed uh not working anymore I love yeah insane yeah I really like uh I don't know Patrice O'Neill's character's name patricia from the that was short-lived yeah Yeah, he was great. Remind me, please? I bet you like to swim with the sea monster.
Starting point is 01:05:11 Oh, the sea monster. Yeah. Sea Monster is his name. Excuse me, Sea Monster. You weigh like a thousand pounds. You know, it's another good cameo. A legendary cameo in that is Ricky Jervase. Oh, when they meet each other in there.
Starting point is 01:05:24 Super brief. You can see Michael's like so blown away to talk to him because like they have the same humor. They could have done a little. They could have done a little more. Something with that. They should have just left him in there for a little bit. For a little bit. I think it could have been an episode where like just like they had the guy from a dumb and dumber for like an episode where he plays the mob guy.
Starting point is 01:05:43 Jim Carrey? Oh, no. No, that guy. I forget his name. Oh, no, yeah. The mob actor guy. Like they should have done something with that with with Ricky Jervais. Or even if it wasn't Nellie right away.
Starting point is 01:05:53 We had Ricky Jervase taking over for a little bit. Dude, Nellie was such a crazy decision. But she was awesome in Tallahassee. She's awesome. The Tallahassee episodes are so good. There probably is back story with the Ricky Jervais stuff. I bet they tried to get him and they, he was. But Robert California is fucking unbelievable.
Starting point is 01:06:09 Dude, I'm the fucking Lizard King. I got to go back and do our California era episodes. It's been a while. He's been a while. He's incredible. When they first introduce him and he like breaks Ryan, Toby and Jim down and then he looks into the camera and he's like breaking down the cameraman. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:06:27 He's awesome. And Charles Minor, that's another good. Charles Meyer was good. He's, I can't wait to play with you. It's going to be the worst. Great. You have, what comes in mind when I ask you, favorite incendiary show you've ever played?
Starting point is 01:06:42 Or just the most special. Oh, man. I know. I mean, like, pretty hard to top outbreak. I think a lot of bands would say that. That might have been, like, the best incendiary show ever, Outbreak Fest in the UK. But that's, like, kind of like, like, not fair, I guess.
Starting point is 01:06:57 I mean, it's everyone in the United Kingdom. Yeah, who likes hardcore. Best incendiary show, man. There's favorite. Favorite? Most special. The one where you were like, Wow, we really did something here, guys.
Starting point is 01:07:11 I guess maybe like, we did two nights in a row at Vitis. That's cool. And it was just like a very cool vibe. They were like both sold out and like I lived down the street from there. And it was just had like a very fun. It was just like each show was sick. And like I love Vitis so much and the people who run it and stuff. So that those two are up there.
Starting point is 01:07:31 That's a good answer. That's what we're looking for. It was very cool. That's like that's not 10,000 people. Right. No. But that's your home. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:39 Do you have an answer? Definitely. Yeah, favorite show is total. Yeah. It might be Sounding Fier this year. That was. That was good. That was pretty good.
Starting point is 01:07:49 That was 10,000 people. That was fine. Yeah. Oh, I got one more. The 1720 show from like 2019, maybe. Was the Oz Lord last show? Yes, sir. That was awesome.
Starting point is 01:08:03 That was awesome. That was so sick, dude. Yeah. Wow. Very cool. I was there. Yeah. Yeah, you were there.
Starting point is 01:08:09 Yeah, it was awesome. What a stacked lineup. Stacked line up that one. Did we do Colch opened or something? Gulch, man. It was Gulch eyes of the Lord. That's so stupid. That's awesome.
Starting point is 01:08:19 That's crazy. Yeah. And then Close Casket signed Gulch right after that, I think. Yep. From that show. Good decision. Yep. Good call.
Starting point is 01:08:26 Yep. You guys eat. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Been eating. Eat good. They eat good. Another benefit of, you know, being adults, having real jobs is.
Starting point is 01:08:38 When you go on these trips and it's like, you can eat whatever you want. Yeah. What do you like to eat? What do you guys like? So, we're kind of a local flare band. We like,
Starting point is 01:08:49 we like local flare. You want the thing. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. We like local flare. Obviously, we're Taco Bell people. There's something here that. Obviously? Yeah, Taco Bell.
Starting point is 01:09:00 I love it. Taco Bell. You get, you're a seamless guy at home? Grubhub. Grubhub. Grubhub Plus. Because it like came with something. Plus is amazing.
Starting point is 01:09:08 Yeah, I used that. Saved tens of dollars on that. Dude, I looked at my dash path, my DoorDash dash pass. Yeah. Savings this year was $1,800. I saved $1,800. It's unbelievable. It's a bargain.
Starting point is 01:09:20 It's interesting how they're all, they're so regional now. I know. We got them both. I have like a family friend who lives in, well, like my sister-in-law, she's more than a friend. And she lives in Richmond. And I like, there was something there. We're like, oh, we don't use this one. Yeah, Grubhub is not really a thing in Kel.
Starting point is 01:09:38 really? I would never use it. And it was big in Brooklyn and I'm living Long Island now and it's like apparently it's like it's like it's all Dordash. Yeah. But I don't. Well, this is a Dordash. I'm not a dash. We have Postmates Grubhub and door. Yeah, we got postmates. They exist, but like some of them are not off to use. Certain things are exclusive to each one. Exactly. And then like when the menu's all off the rails and you're like, you got to describe what this is, especially if it's just called like chicken alacastro or whatever. And you're like, I don't know what that is. So would your answer to a. A question we ask everybody is if Inseniori is flying down the road. And there's a chain that you're going to pull over for that's going to be Taco Bell. No, this is not going to go well. Okay. You're going to hate my answers. Like, so much. So much.
Starting point is 01:10:20 I've been tested before, Brennan. What could you? And I pass the test. I've listened to several episodes. I'm a fan you do a great job. Oh, you're going to say it, aren't you? Yeah. Do you know what I'm thinking of?
Starting point is 01:10:30 You're going to say Subway? No, no, not that bad. Okay. No, I'm saying Panera. Oh, shit. That's disappointing. I love, we love it. Have you had the lemonade that kills you?
Starting point is 01:10:41 No, no. He's alive. But I'd like to. I'd like to. I'd like to. Yeah. I'd like to. We should go now.
Starting point is 01:10:46 Here's why I like Panera. Because I figured this might come up. Okay. There's a couple things. Number one, they have an incredible coffee loyalty program. Coffee loyalty program? You're sick in the head. No, dude, it's like, it's like $10 a month or whatever.
Starting point is 01:11:00 And you, no, I know, but I'm saying if you're traveling, if you live in the burps. It's 10 bucks a month. It's something like that. And you could just walk in and just get coffee anytime you want. Like a cold? That's actually not that bad of a system. That's a great question. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:11:12 I think it's just a hot coffee thing. No. I like the coffee there. And if you're feeling sassy, you want to get a little croissant. You could do that for breakfast. If you want to eat bullshit and oftentimes I want to eat crap, you can eat crap there. You can get mac and cheese and like all kinds of crap. And if you want to try to be a little healthy guy, you can get the turkey sandwich.
Starting point is 01:11:36 They have a good vegetarian sandwich. I like the soup. It makes me feel comfortable when I go there. Now, it's gone downhill. It's good for me. It's good for me. Yeah. It's significantly gone downhill.
Starting point is 01:11:48 I would be a liar if I said I didn't like the broccoli cheddar soup. It's delicious. It's the worst thing for you that you can eat. Dude, it's like 800 calories a cup. I see, I see ads for that at my gym. They're sponsored ads by Panera at my gym for the broccoli cheddar soup. We got it here.
Starting point is 01:12:08 Come on over. It's also like, you get in a bread bowl and it's like even more. They got bread bowls? Yeah. That was like their thing. They got red bowls at Panera? Oh, bread bowl. A bread bowl with half a sandwich is like a deal.
Starting point is 01:12:20 Oh, yeah. Brennan, I need you to make me a deal. Sure. Before this airs. Okay. We need to all try the lemonade that kills you. Yeah, I would love to. Let's all individually try it.
Starting point is 01:12:30 We can do it tomorrow. We'll splice it in. Here it is. Oh, I can definitely do that. Hello, Colin and Beau. We're here at a beautiful Panera. bread in Annuette, New York, fireplace here. This is one more beautiful paneras that I've been to,
Starting point is 01:12:44 and we're going to try the death lemonade today. Okay, we're here today trying the Panera lemonade that kills you. First try. First try. I'll do this on a scale from one to five heart attacks. It's actually very good. It's unironically good. It's a little 4.5 heart attacks.
Starting point is 01:13:07 It tastes like tea. You don't taste anything different, so that's going to be a problem because there's like 300 milligrams of caffeine in this. Honestly, Pretty good, but I don't know if I ever need to drink it again. Update. Crashed, went home, took a nap. It's 8.38 in the evening.
Starting point is 01:13:22 Is it still available? It's all, yeah. This is the greatest marketing thing in history. No, yeah. How is that possible? You can't buy publicity like this. How is that possible? They still have its same MGs and caffeine.
Starting point is 01:13:37 It can kill you, Brendan. Water can kill you. As can you. As can, smoking. Well, you guys already know how I react to significant caffeine, so it sounds like I'm the perfect. You love it. It's a perfect lab rap for it.
Starting point is 01:13:49 A lot of any that kills you. Yeah, yeah. But I mean, they've gone downhill, but I'm telling you, man, there's some towns in snowy northeast that have beautiful Paneras. Wow. Like Vermont or something. Flying, flying. Flying.
Starting point is 01:14:02 I don't believe it. Yeah? Oh, dude. Hyper drive Wi-Fi. I couldn't. I don't buy it. It's great bread. Panera is a place where when we're on tour and we need to do laundry and we go to a
Starting point is 01:14:14 laundromat. You want to recharge? I go to a Panera. You want to recharge. I have done that a couple of times. Paneras might as well be tender greens to me. You know how that's... Maybe you have a book you wanted to read.
Starting point is 01:14:24 You can sit there with a book. I have this little computer in my pocket with YouTube on it. Dude, straight up. If you want to watch YouTube there, you can. That is the spot here. Yeah, they actually allow you watching YouTube there. Wow. Like an airplane?
Starting point is 01:14:37 Yep. We've got to change that. I just want to watch YouTube on the plane. Let me tell you something. Make it better. Do better. The Panera in Hoboken, New Jersey, folks are posted up there. Really.
Starting point is 01:14:47 hours. I've been in Hobo. Just streaming stuff. Just watching on there, watching YouTube. Yeah, so you can watch YouTube at any Panera if you want.
Starting point is 01:14:55 Well, that's huge. I never factor that in, and I'm a big fan. Yeah. Do you think the band would say Panera? Or you're going to say? I feel like Audley would.
Starting point is 01:15:05 We're pretty kindred food. But Lamelli is full, like, it will go to some place where, you know, you go to a place and you're like, I should not order that. Because it seems like they don't make it that all.
Starting point is 01:15:16 Like, he'll do that. He'll go to a lot of place salmon. Exactly. He'll be like, I'll have the chicken gyro and we're like, no. And even the waitress is like, really? Exactly. Like, okay.
Starting point is 01:15:27 Yeah. So he's, he's the biggest local flare guy. He'll get annoyed if we choose. Like, if we go to Taco Bell. He's like, it says, you know, Bernie's feedback over there. Like, I want to go there. Yeah. So we usually do that.
Starting point is 01:15:40 I respect it. Yeah. But most respect. Yeah. Beautiful. Interesting. A couple of questions. This one you can think about.
Starting point is 01:15:47 Okay, because this is, this is heavy. New York hardcore Mount Rushmore. Long Island, Mount Rushmore. Okay. For me. Well, so age of quarrel is my favorite New York hardcore album. Yeah. So.
Starting point is 01:16:01 Beautiful. That's given. I have to put the homies in an indecision for me. They're, they are huge. You put them in city or you put them in New York or Long Island? Indecisions, Brooklyn. They're born and raised. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:16:12 So I have to put them up there. They're like, they're so important to me. Because that's also like I was I was a Long Island guy like I I was I was madball I'm a huge Chromeags like age of quarrel was like the record for me so Cromag's indecision Cromag's indecision got to put madball huge three so far Tom is watching this with tears in his eyes I got two more one more oh Mount Rushmore's got four guys four presidents bullshit yeah should be five agreed um it's in America we did the deck of Ben Franklin on there yeah he was the best one one
Starting point is 01:16:46 Um, this has, this is just, like, selfish, like who I like. Yeah. Man. Brendan's. Probably Marauder. There you go. Oh, man. That's what we needed.
Starting point is 01:16:58 I mean, I love, I love AF and stuff. But like, I, if my go-to, if like, it's just me, it'd be Marauder probably. And that's the best music ever written. I say it all the time. A friend gave me a burn C.U. With age of quarrel and master killer on it. Changed my life. That's crazy.
Starting point is 01:17:12 Swear to God. I can't imagine what it's same shit I'm forgetting. I mean, the burn seven inch is huge for me. me too. Oh, yeah. Yeah. And Long Island, I got to do it.
Starting point is 01:17:18 Long Island, Mount Rushmore, give it to me. Backtrack. Fuck yeah. Boom. Love it. VOD.
Starting point is 01:17:23 Love it. Silent majority is, I know that's become a stereotypical, but. I don't think it's stereotypical. I think it makes sense for people from Long Island
Starting point is 01:17:30 to say. Of course. They're your, like, pride and joy. I'm not going to not say the killer. Yeah, exactly. You know, yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:36 And then, let me think. You know who I'm going to put? Crime and Stereo. Wow. Yeah. I didn't even know they were from the line. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:17:47 They, they, um, big time. Are awesome. Every album they put out is great. Crime and stereo, like, explosives in the world will use them era. So like early 2000, like on top of the world. Playing very, coming up at the time of like all of the amazing Boston shows,
Starting point is 01:18:03 like up there, would play those all the time. I'm a huge crime and stereo guy. I'm very friends with them. But in terms of like what I like to listen to, yeah. Cool. There's so many things I could say.
Starting point is 01:18:14 God. It's a tough one. Beautiful answer. Yeah, CIS, baby. Now you, Brennan Garone, who do you do as a frontman in its end up? Oh, man. While you're thinking of this answer, did you get behind the mic knowing your voice was like that? No, I tried to sound like Scott Vogel for six months and blew out my voice every single time.
Starting point is 01:18:35 Yeah, nobody can sound like that. Yeah, I tried to sound like a hard-ass M-Fer, and I failed. Wow. I would just destroy my voice. And This is inspiring Because you got to find it You got to find it
Starting point is 01:18:48 Travis Riley Of this is hell fame Great guy said You should just try to scream Yeah And just do that yell I was like
Starting point is 01:18:58 Oh okay I'm still losing my voice All the time But it is marginally easier Yeah Yeah So God who do I do I'm like a big
Starting point is 01:19:07 108 guy And in a So like Rob Fish Definitely an inspiration. I would put that up there. I got to be honest, like the guy from Maddie from Nasty's,
Starting point is 01:19:20 like his swag, like, you're jacking it? No, I don't have it. I don't have that gift. You want it. But I want it. Okay. So like, I see him and I'm like,
Starting point is 01:19:28 I want to do that. This dude's fucking awesome. Yeah, let's go with Rob Fish. I love it. He's doing Rob fish. Yeah. Rob, shout out one away. Kill over the soul.
Starting point is 01:19:38 One of the hardest rifts of all time. The older I get, the more I love that band. I don't know if people realize how influential, like, 108 is to us. Like a lot of the bands that people think influence us are like a little more off the mark. 108 is.
Starting point is 01:19:52 Yeah, they were doing the dana, wana, wana, wada, wada, bada, it before any lyrics,
Starting point is 01:19:57 like everything about it. I'm not that I'm like a, you know, Christian, huge christina guy, but, you can hear some of that and go like, it might be out of something.
Starting point is 01:20:04 Yeah. That does sound nice. That sounds nice. It's nice to believe in something. Oh, we're in heaven right now. Yeah. That's pretty cool.
Starting point is 01:20:10 It's cool. True. But yeah. I'll say him. That's beautiful. Beautiful answer. First Rob Fish answer on the show. Very true.
Starting point is 01:20:17 I'm a big one. A lot of first, actually. Yeah. He's different, this guy. I'm enigmatic. That's a callback. It's what we call back in the biz. That's what we call full circle.
Starting point is 01:20:27 And that is the culmination of this wonderful episode with Brendan. Thank you so much for your time. Oh, thanks for having me. It's good to see you guys, man. Yeah, you too. It's nice to shooting the shit. Isn't it? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:20:38 This is what we like. Just shooting it. It's really nice. Well, thank you so much for being here. And I will drink the lemonade, the dangerous lemonade. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. The lemonade that kills you.
Starting point is 01:20:48 We'll do. We'll do. Okay. This has been Hardlore with Brandon from Incendiary. Thank you so much for watching. We'll see you next week. Bye. Bye.
