Up in the sky, look, it's captivating, it's energizing, it's Alliances Heroes.
Alliances is the destination for entrepreneurs, investors, CEOs, inventors, leaders, celebrities,
and startups, where our heroes in business align.
Now, here's your host flying in,id cogan founder of alliances that's right and you know on
these days i have no problem jumping out of bed getting up starting my day because it's so
exciting when we could share the secrets of heroes those that are making an impact entertaining us
ceos across the board and so much more. And again, I so much appreciate you watching and listening.
And thank you, thank you, thank you for the feedback.
We continue to have, when I recently had on, the founder of E-Entertainment.
So make sure that you go to Eliance's.com, E-L-I-A-N-C-E-S.com.
Why?
Because it is the only place where entrepreneurs align.
And with us, we have somebody you definitely will know, Tamara Morey Housley.
She is the Emmy Award-winning talk show host.
She has been the star of Sister, Sister.
She's been in Hallmark movies and so much more.
And now has partnered with Teladoc, which we're going to talk about, Sister. She's been in Hallmark movies and so much more, and now has partnered
with Teladoc, which we're going to talk about too. And you could reach her at teladoc.com.
That's T-E-L-A-D-O-C.com. Tamara, welcome to the show. You have such an incredible career. You've
been involved in so many, so much stuff. You know, how was it? I got
to ask you, because we've gotten a lot of questions pre of you coming on. And one of those questions
was, you know, how was it like, like literally growing up on TV? It's crazy because when I look
back, it was just something that we, you know, that we did it I saw it as a job um obviously a
dream job a dream job it was I've always wanted to have like you know sitcom I knew I wanted to
be an actress when I was 11 and we got sister sister when we were like 14 15 speaking of my twin so looking back I'm just so grateful
that I got to achieve a dream at such a young age and still to this day to be able to do the
things that I absolutely love to do and for people to still be receptive, you know, it, it is, it definitely is, is a
blessing. And sometimes, you know, I just, I just want to pinch myself because every day I'm living,
you know, I'm living, I'm living a dream in that sense. And how surreal is it when your son Adrian and daughter uh is it Ariah uh all right yes so my son is Aiden
Aiden okay and and them watching you on tv like do you do show them reruns or anything of that
oh my goodness I have to say uh you know us being locked down at at home for this long time and then
you know sister sister being relaunched on Netflix.
That's probably one of the highlights of the pandemic.
My children discovering Sister, Sister for the first time.
And my daughter was hooked.
She was hooked for like three days.
She no longer is hooked.
I don't take offense to that.
But she's five
but for like three days she had the ipad like this and i can hear sister sister but um yeah
that's been one of the things that i think you know because i'm here to talk about you know
teledoc that's been one of the things that have been really uh have been helping us kind of like just navigate through
lockdown or phase one phase two phase three is just allowing ourselves to spend good like
quality time with each other whether that is playing board games whether that uh is watching
you know a show that we can all watch as a family, then talk about it afterwards.
But there are there were some days that, you know, that that were challenging around phase two, phase three of the pandemic.
Anxiety started to, you know, trinkle in.
I wanted to make sure that I kept my mental health in check, which is why I am so grateful for telehealth services like Teladoc, because there's a variety of specialists that are there for you and that can give you comprehensive care.
And psychologists, psychiatrists are some of them. Pediatricians are some of them.
You could speak with a nutritionalist all within, you know,
just all you have to do is just get up and go to teledoc.com. It's all within your fingertips and 24 seven,
that has been one of the greatest tips that I can, I can give, you know,
families and parents out there.
So you don't have to worry about being in a doctor's office for 30 minutes and worrying about
germs, unless you, you know, you truly, truly have to. Right. So it's no longer where you have to
schedule the time to go to a doctor, get ready, get dressed, coughing in the car, trying to get
there, waiting how long, God knows how long, right?
Because they're backed up. Everybody else is in there.
And so what you're saying, Tamara, is it's one call.
You could set up appointment, do everything, everything through the web based.
And Tamara, you've been able to then you see the doctor that you need to write visually right through through the computer.
Yeah, 100 percent. that you need to write visually right through through the computer yeah 100 and with everything
like being able to to speak you know with with someone and i thank god for technology you know
i know zoom i didn't know what zoom was before now it's that i'm on zoom almost every week
right right right and certainly having children who you know it's just natural'm on zoom almost every week. Right, right, right. And certainly having children who,
you know, it's just natural, they get sick a lot and need different assistance and stuff like that.
Have you used Teladoc for your children? Absolutely. You can, you know, they have
pediatricians there to speak with you. My daughter, she has eczema. And, you know,
My daughter, she has eczema.
And sometimes you just want to make sure the rash isn't anything too serious.
It's not anything new.
And sometimes you just want to make sure that you're doing the best that you should be doing with what has happened.
Yeah, absolutely.
And I'm doing the best here, the best,
because I have the lifetime opportunity to interview Tamara.
That's right.
Emmy-winning talk show host,
sister to Hallmark News,
and she's partnered with Teladoc.
So you can reach her at T-L-A-D-O-C-M-A-R-T-O-C-T-O-C.
And again, what you're watching, listening to me is David Kogan, host of the Alliance Zero Show.
So, Tamara, you know, you've been very successful in your career.
And we have a lot of listeners out there.
In fact, one of them is Chesley Arnold, who wrote in and said, with all of these goals that you of these and how competitive it is what are some of the secrets
as you've learned along the way for others who would like to get into the business oh i wish i
knew this secret earlier but i didn't learn it until i was older um i wasn't the best auditioner
because i'm just not a competitive person towards other like people.
I'm competitive with myself, but I just it wasn't one of my my strong points.
Right. So I have this amazing acting coach and she taught me that there's only one you, even though I'm a twin.
There's only one you. Yes. I'm a twin, there's only one you.
Yes, I have a person that looks like me,
but she isn't me and I'm not her.
And it's the same thing with all those other actors
and actresses who are auditioning.
You just bring a little bit of you.
You bring a little bit of yourself to the character.
That's going to make you stand out.
That's going to make you different because there's only one you. The other thing is,
you have to learn to book the room instead of, yes, you want to book the job. But being an actor,
most of the time you're going to hear no's, then you're going to hear yes's. And you can't take
that personal because usually I think of a chair, right? A chair,
you can go to a furniture store just because you don't want that chair to be in your living room
or your kitchen. Doesn't mean it's not, it wasn't made well. It isn't pretty. It's just that it's
not the right fit. It's just that it's not the right fit for your
living room. That is the way you have to see yourself when you go out on these auditions.
Realize as long as you do your best, that's what you can, you know, that's what you can control.
But if you don't get it, it doesn't mean that you're not a great actor. It doesn't mean that
you're, you know, they wanted to see you for the role. It's just that maybe you're just not the right fit. And eventually you will find a home. So
that's the advice I would tell people. And then also make sure you want to be in the industry
because you love the craft, not just to be famous because you won't last.
It will not last if you are just striving to be famous. And what I mean by that
is thriving and being happy in what you're doing. Because in Hollywood, you're in, you're middle,
you're out, you're in, middle, out, you know, so life happens.
Absolutely. Absolutely. Well, Tamara, life happens because today, too, it's been an incredible opportunity to have you in the studio.
You entertain and you've kept it the real for many years.
Now partnering with Health and Wellness with Teladoc.
