Lately, I've been trying to be more intentional about what I wear, intentional about everything,
just choosing pieces that feel effortless, still put together, timeless, but also not overthinking it
every morning. It's why I keep going back to quince. Their pieces just make getting dressed
easier and I feel so classy. I feel elevated. The fits are flattering. The fabric is really
high quality. Everything is wearable day to day. I actually got this really, really,
beautiful yellow V-neck midi dress from them, and I paired it with some Italian leather sandals.
It's one of those outfits that just works. It feels polished but still comfortable. It's exactly
what I've been looking for. What surprises me, though, is the quality for the price. Quince uses
premium materials like European linen, organic cotton, but they cut out the middleman. So
everything is priced way lower than you'd expect. Refresh.

Rob Reiner was one of Hollywood's most influential filmmakers,
and he and his wife, Michelle Singer Reiner,
were found dead just this past weekend.
And it hasn't just shocked people because of the violence.
It's shocked people because of who Rob Reiner and Michelle Singer-Riner were.
And because of what their family had already survived.
This is a case about a celebrated Hollywood legacy,
a marriage built on creativity and activism,
and a son whose battle with addiction terrified the people who loved him most.
By the end of this episode, you'll understand why this story didn't begin the night
Rob and Michelle were killed.
It began decades earlier.
My name is Lauren Matthias, and this is hidden true crime.
On December 14, 2025, the couple was found inside their Brentwood, Los Angeles home,
and what authorities are now investigating officially as a homicide.
The circumstances surrounding their deaths have raised urgent questions,
sparked a massive police investigation,
and have left both Hollywood and the public searching for answers.
Rob Reiner's career spanned decades,
shaping modern American film and television from his early days on All in the Feasties,
to directing some of the most recognizable movies of all time.
Michelle Singer-Riner was a creative force in her own right,
a longtime collaborator and a central figure in the life they built together.
We're going to walk through the timeline leading up to that Sunday afternoon,
the unfolding investigation, the arrest that followed, there is an arrest,
and the unanswered questions that remain.
We'll also talk about what comes next as authorities continue to piece together what happened.
Before we get into the timeline of what happened,
I want to take a step back for a moment to explain what Rob and Michelle each represented
and how deeply their lives were intertwined with American culture, storytelling, and
public life.
Rob was an iconic figure in film and television, and Michelle, again, simply wasn't just
the wife of a famous director.
She was a photographer, a producer, and a partner whose influence-shaped decades of work,
family life, and activism.
Two people were murdered, and both of their lives matter in understanding the magnitude
of this loss.
Rob Reiner was born into comedy royalty
as the son of Carl Reiner.
He grew up around some of the most
influential entertainers of the 20th century.
His breakout role as Meathead on
All in the Family made him a household name
in the 1970s, but his legacy was cemented
behind the camera.
Films like the Princess Bride,
when Harry met Sally, stand by me.
This is Spinal Tap
and a few good men weren't just
box office hits.
they became part of how people understood love, friendship, justice, humor, hope later in life.
Rob became just as known for his activism.
He was deeply involved in political causes, especially those centered on equality and children's welfare.
He helped lead the fight against California's Proposition 8, which banned same-sex marriage, and champion Proposition 10,
a landmark early childhood development initiative that reshaped state policy.
policy. For Rob Reiner, storytelling, and social responsibility were inseparable. His personal life
reflected that same complexity. Rob was married twice. His first marriage was to actress and director
Penny Marshall. And during that marriage, he adopted her daughter, Tracy Reiner, who he always
considered his own. Even after their divorce, Rob remained closely involved in Tracy's life and career.
Tracy went on to become an actress and producer appearing in major films such as League of
their own and remaining a tight member of the Reiner family.
In the late 1980s, Rob met photographer Michelle Singer while directing when Harry met Sally.
They married in 1989 the same year the film was released, and they built a life together
that spanned more than three decades.
Michelle later transitioned into film production, working closely with Rob on several
projects, including documentaries and long-anticipated sequels. And by all public accounts,
they were deeply bonded. Personally, creatively, politically, together Rob and Michelle had three
children, Jake, Nick, and Romy. Jake Reiner, the eldest biological child, took a bit of a different
path than his parents. He worked in journalism, reporting for local television and later co-hosting
a sports podcast. He has spoken openly about wanting to follow his own interests rather than
live in his father's shadow. Romie Reiner, the youngest, embraced creative expression. She worked
as an actress, writer, producer, and visual artist, and often spoke publicly about her
closeness with her father. Her post paint a picture of a relationship built on trust,
conversation, and quiet companionship. And then there's Nick Reiner, the middle child,
whose life story is essential to understanding why this case unfolded the way it has so far.
Nick had been unusually open about his struggles with addiction.
His first stint in rehab came when he was actually just 15 years old.
Over the years, he entered treatment repeatedly, eventually totaling 17 rehab stays.
At times, he refused to continue the programs his family pushed him toward, and he says that decision led to homelessness.
He lived on the streets in multiple states, sleeping outdoors, surviving day to day.
In interviews, Nick describes those years as dark, dangerous, and unlawful.
unpredictable. He openly acknowledged that he could have died. And those experiences became the
foundation for the film Being Charlie. It's a semi-autobiographical project Nick co-wrote and
Rob directed. It's like, um, tough at all. Really? I mean, of course it was a little bit, but
I mean, we did, you know, we did get into fights over things, but ultimately it forced us to
make the film better.
I mean, you know, we'd get into issues
and I would see, you know, he would,
the whole process for me, I can just speak for myself,
it did make me understand him a lot more,
and I think it made me a better father.
Hopefully it did.
I don't know, but I think that,
and you'll see it in the film.
What happens is, you know, your kid,
if your kid is going through rough times,
you know, the parent is,
your main job is to keep your child safe. So I would do anything. I didn't, I even, I felt out of loss.
So I would do anything that, as we say in the film, anybody with a desk and a diploma, I would listen to them.
And the whole idea of tough love and you have to be a certain way. And I, it's not my nature.
It's not the way I am built, but I went and did that, you know. And I think that, you know, at the end of the day, I know my child better than an expert does.
and I probably should have trusted my own instinct.
And that's one of the things I did learn about the whole experience.
I think the bonding came not from the story itself,
but from the fact that we were working on a movie together.
At the time of the film's release,
Rob spoke candidly about how painful it was to revisit those years,
the fear, the uncertainty,
and the moments when he and Michelle wondered how it would end.
It was very personal.
I mean, it's not a secret,
but my son, Nick, who was one of the writers of the screen,
play had gone had his problems with substance abuse and he went through a number of rehab programs
from the time he was 15 to 19 he's doing very good now but what I didn't understand is the depth
of what he was going through and the process of making this film not only forced me to see what he was
experiencing but I think it forced him to see what I went through and what his mother went through
and hopefully the film is a reflection of that.
I think it's going to be tremendously helpful
for so many people to understand.
Hopefully.
Hopefully, we have to not punish people
who have problems.
We have to help them.
And I think we're going in that direction now.
People are starting to recognize it
because it's been given a national spotlight
on the campaign trip.
Most people don't realize

By 2015, Nick appeared to be sober, back home, and working creatively alongside his father.
From the outside, it looked like a family that had survived something incredibly difficult
and come out stronger.
The last couple of years, he's reportedly been living with his parents off and on, which brings us to the weekend of December 14, 2025.
Now, before I go any further, I need to say this. What I'm about to discuss is based on reporting from unnamed sources, not official police statements.
No charges had been publicly filed at the time these details emerged, and nothing has been proven in court.
This is context, not conclusions.
But according to family friends who spoke to reporters,
Rob, Michelle, and Nick attended a Christmas party on Saturday night at the home of comedian Conan O'Brien.
Those same sources said there was a noticeable, loud argument between Rob and Nick during the gathering
and that several people observed Nick acting unusual that evening.
After the argument, Rob and Michelle left the party, but it's unknown if Nick left with them.
So far, there has been no public comment from Conan O'Brien.
Police have also not confirmed details about the party, and the nature of the argument has not been disclosed at this time.
But investigators and reporters have noted the timing because it occurred just hours before the deaths.
The following afternoon, Sunday, emergency responders were called to the Reiner's Brentwood home around 3.30 p.m. for a medical aid request.
and inside they found Rob Reiner, 78, and Michelle Singer-Riner, 68, deceased.
Investigators quickly determined the scene was not natural.
Both had injuries consistent with being stabbed, with some sources saying that they included stab or slit wounds to their throats and multiple wounds throughout their bodies.
There were no signs of forced entry into the home, and the Los Angeles Police Department's robbery homicide division took over.
the case, classifying it as an apparent homicide. Law enforcement sources later confirmed that one of the
couple's children discovered the bodies. Multiple outlets reported that it was their daughter, Romy,
Reiner, who made that devastating discovery and called authorities. By early evening, the quiet Brentwood
Street was sealed off. Yellow tape blocked the road, and the Riner's home, beautifully decorated
for Christmas, was now a crime scene. Police cars lined
both ends of the block, a helicopter circled overhead. Neighbors described in eerie stillness,
the kind that settles in after something unimaginable has occurred. And certainly, this was
unimaginable. Later that night, Nick Reiner was taken into custody. Online jail records show he was
arrested around 9.15 p.m. Sunday night and officially booked early Monday morning. Bail was set at $4 million
At that time, police had not formally announced an arrest and no specific charges were publicly detailed, but that has since changed.
As the night stretched into early morning, tributes began pouring in.
Just after midnight, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass confirmed the deaths, calling them a devastating loss not only to Hollywood, but to California's civic and cultural life.
Illinois governor described Rob and Michelle as giants whose work-shaped generations.
SAG AFRA president, Sean Astin, called Rob Reiner one of the most significant figures in the history of film and television.
By early morning, the Reiner family released a statement confirming the desk and asking for privacy.
Rob's oldest daughter, Tracy, said, quote, I came from the greatest family ever.
I don't know what to say. I'm in shock.
As daylight broke Monday, jail records confirmed that Nick Reiner remained in custody on $4 million bail.
Law enforcement sources later said he was being held on suspicion of murder.
So the investigation was still ongoing and details remained limited.
Yesterday at 12, December 14th, about 3.40 in the afternoon, LAPD responded to a residence,
the residents of Rob and Michelle Reiner located in West Los Angeles Division.
At that location, they found two deceased adults, a male and a female, through the night,
working with the coroner's office, they were able to identify them definitively as Rob and Michelle Reiner.
We have our Robbery Homicide Division handling the investigation.
They worked throughout the night on this case and were able to take into custody Nick Reiner, a suspect in this case.
He was subsequently booked for murder and is being held on $4 million bail.
Pretty much that's what I can share at this point.
But again, a very, very tragic incident.
But after that, more tributes followed.
Kathy Bates said she was devastated.
Jerry O'Connell described Rob as a father figure and credited him with shaping his life.
Former President Barack Obama released a statement praising Rob's belief in the goodness of people
and the purposeful life he and Michelle lived together.
And now the case sits in that difficult, painful space.
between shock and a lack of answers.
As more details have started to emerge,
some people who lived near the Reiner family began speaking,
cautiously speaking,
about what they said had been a long-standing concern.
Friends and neighbors told reporters that Nick Reiner
had a history of troubling and violent behavior,
which made the news of his arrest not entirely shocking.
One longtime neighbor, who declined to be identified,
said there had been previous incidents
involving Nick years earlier, but they didn't offer specifics. And that same neighbor described
Rob Reiner as deeply pained by his son's ongoing struggles with addiction, saying the family had
pushed repeatedly for professional treatment. And according to those accounts, Nick wanted help,
but resisted entering inpatient facilities, preferring instead to try to recover while living at home,
which was a source of repeated tension within the family. The neighbor described years of
arguments rooted in fear, love, and concern, adding that Nick had demons. He battled for a long
time these alleged demons. And Nick has also spoken publicly about past instances of violent
behavior, reflecting on the impact it has had on his family. In a 2018 in review, he recalled a time
when he was staying in his parents' guest house while trying to get sober, and he admitted that
during a period of being high, he caused significant damage to their property. And in the
that interview, Nick said, I got totally spun out on uppers. I think it was coke or something
else. And I was up for days on end. I started punching out some things in the guest house, end quote.
I got totally spun out on uppers. I think it was coke and something else. And I was up for days
on end. And I started punching out different things in my guest house. Like a frame? Like what?
Like a stuff? No, I think I started with the TV. And then I went over to.
was a lamp and then progressive, I just, everything in the guest house got wrecked.
Did you punch the TV?
Yeah, I literally punched the TV.
Did you, like, lacerate your hands?
I mean, that sounds bad.
Did you hurt yourself?
I don't even remember at this point.
And while this admission was from several years ago, it does shed light on the tensions
and challenges the family faced around his addictions and gives some context into the
difficult dynamics within the Reiner House.
That being said, investigators are still working to piece together what happened inside the home.
The legal process will determine what comes next.
And a family that once symbolized creativity, resilience, and legacy is now navigating
unimaginable loss under public scrutiny.
Rob Reiner's work will live on and films that shape childhoods, relationships, and ideals.
Michelle Singer-Riner's impact lives on through the story she helped bring to the screen
and whatever the outcome of this case is, the human cost is already undeniable.
The story clearly isn't over.
Nick is set to have his first court appearance on Tuesday, December 16th.
His bail now has changed from $4 million to no bond.
So originally $4 million, now no bond.
And as more information has become available,
we're going to continue following this carefully until Rob and Michelle receive justice.
