And I know that I am a day late because I was just covering the sentencing for Lori Valo Daibel, the last sentencing, or we hope the last sentencing of Lori Valo Daibel yesterday. Thus, we got pushed back a little bit. But starting Monday, we will be back to doing these.
Starting point is 00:02:26 recaps the day of court. So thank you for those who have been waiting for our updates. We're so grateful for how our updates have been received and how many of you are appreciating them because there are no cameras in the courtroom. So it is time now for Friday, July 26th, 2025 of the James Craig trial. And court got off to a late start yesterday. But once lead detective Bobby Olson took the stand, the prosecution picked up right where they left off with her direct examination. We first heard from Olson briefly back on day three, if you remember when she laid foundation for evidence collection. It was really quick. It was enough to gather my respect for her.
Starting point is 00:03:19 She walked in with a strength and a determination that was clearly sort of representative of, in my opinion. of justice for Angela and her fight for justice for Angela. But she really did only set the foundation at that time. But now Detective Bobby Olson is back. And this time she is going through what that evidence actually shows. And let me just say it paints a damning picture, like most of the evidence in this case has. So first, Detective Olson walked the jury through a couple of letters. One of them marked as Exhibit 44 and was dated April 3rd.
Starting point is 00:03:56 5th, 2024, and sent to James's parents. It claimed that someone had been paid $66,000 by Angela to frame James. And the name and the amount were suspicious because the exact number, $66,000, also showed up in James' own text messages in Exhibit 67, a message James sent to one of his sugar babies, Carrie Hedgesath on February 2, 2023. And it reads, it reads, reads, I made $66,000 in January, I feel so trapped. So that same dollar amount in both the text and this anonymous letter, definitely raising suspicious red flags. Olson ended up interviewing Kerry in late February of 2024 and those materials were turned
Starting point is 00:04:46 over to the defense shortly after. And that means James or someone on his behalf would have had access to that number before the April 5th date on the anonymous letter, which could suggest. the letter was fabricated using information from the discovery. There was also a second letter, Exhibit 43, and this one addressed a man named William Walden. It never got delivered and was returned to the jail, and that one, that letter was dated April 15, 24, again after the discovery involving carry had already been shared. So just as Detective Olson was being asked to confirm how the timing lines up, defense attorney Moses jumped in and asked,
Starting point is 00:05:26 to approach the bench. And after about an eight-minute sidebar, eight-minute, that's a long time. Olstant again confirmed that law enforcement did not even know about Carrie until late January of 24 and didn't interview her until the end of February. And then just a few weeks later, that anonymous letter showed up at James's parents' house, the one claiming that Angela paid someone $66,000 to frame James. So the prosecution is making a pretty direct connection here. James texted Carrie saying, I made $66,000 in January, I feel so trapped. And then that exact amount was mentioned later in the suspicious letter.
Starting point is 00:06:05 This could imply that whoever wrote that letter may have had access to James' discovery materials or that James was trying to plant a narrative using information he knew was already documented. Well, things shifted after that when the defense took issue with a map, Exhibit 183. The map showed a potential route highlighted in blue, but the key word here is potential, potential route.
Starting point is 00:06:29 Olson admitted that investigators cannot say for sure if James or Angela ever actually use that route. It's a potential route. Well, the defense jumped on that, arguing the map should not be shown to the jury if there's no way to confirm its accuracy. And the state pushed back saying the issue is about how much weight the jury decides to give the map,
Starting point is 00:06:49 not whether it should be admitted at all. It is evidence, even if it's not, Exact. The judge agreed, allowing the map into evidence, but made note of the defense's objection for the record. Well, next, Detective Olson was shown another map. This one marked as Exhibit 184. She explained that it was a Google map showing the route between University Hospital and the Craig home. It outlines a possible path someone could have taken along with an estimated travel time. But the defense quickly jumped in again. During Vodier, they pointed out that while the map shows travel time, it doesn't tell the jury what time a day. that estimate is based on. And anyone who's ever been stuck in traffic knows.
Starting point is 00:07:29 Timing matters. Morning rush hour and a quiet Sunday night could look completely different on that same route. The defense renewed their objection, basically repeating their concerns from the earlier map. The judge called for another sidebar. And after what sounded like a heated exchange, court resumed and the prosecutor was noticeably irritated.
Starting point is 00:07:49 As you'll see, there were a lot of objections yesterday followed by sidebars. Moses pressed Olson again saying that this is just a suggested route pulled from Google Maps, and Olson agreed and said it doesn't prove anyone actually drove that way. And no, it can't say how long it really took someone to make the trip. Despite the objections, the judge ruled to admit Exhibit 184 into evidence. And the state then showed a photo of a pink top shaker bottle. Detective Olson testified that she was present during the March 16th search of the Craig home.
Starting point is 00:08:20 that shaker bottle marked as exhibit three, it was found on Angela's side of the bed close to her nightstand. And Olson said she reviewed the official evidence inventory before taking the stand. But when the state asked where exactly that bottle was documented in the inventory, the defense quickly objected, citing hearsay. Well, the judge called for yet another sidebar. We are sidebar heavy on Friday. And when things resumed, the state moved on. Olson testified that law enforcement requested life insurance records from two companies, Kansas City Life and Lincoln Life.
Starting point is 00:08:57 And the state then introduced two exhibits, Exhibit 107, which is custodian attestation from Kansas City Life and Exhibit 172, a summary of life insurance policies for both James and Angela. The state admitted three exhibits into evidence, 108, 173, and 174. And Detective Olson said that they relate to two additional life insurance policies taken out on Angela through Lincoln Lane. And when you add those to the two Kansas City Life policies, it brings the total life insurance coverage on Angela to, are you ready? Because I always say when it comes to evidence and these type of crimes follow the life insurance. So the total life insurance coverage on Angela is a staggering $4 million. Olson laid it out clearly.
Starting point is 00:09:47 There were two $1 million policies from Kansas City Life and two more from Lincoln Life with oddly specific amounts. But together, they round out to a clean $4 million. And in all four policies, Angela was the insured and James was the sole beneficiary. From there, the state shifted focus to surveillance video. Olson testified that investigators seized the DVR system connected to the home's security cameras. Also, can I just say this? I love it. when the evidence is just so clean and it was created so easily by the person that has been charged.
Starting point is 00:10:24 So not only does he have $4 million of life insurance on his wife if something happens to her, he has surveillance cameras in his own home. He put surveillance cameras on himself. So investigators sees the DVR system connected to the home security cameras. the Craig's family home security cameras. And she reviewed the digital extraction herself. And none of the recorded files had any audio, unfortunately. But wait, but wait, because.
Starting point is 00:10:57 However, when investigators manually hooked up the home's DVR system to a monitor with speakers, they discovered that one of the cameras, the one in the kitchen, did have audio. And thank goodness it was the one in the kitchen. So they set up the DVR in a secure room, mounted a body-worn camera in front of a monitor and recorded the screen as the DVR played back footage with sound. It wasn't high tech, but it worked. And they ended up with hours-long
Starting point is 00:11:25 video files captured this way. Olson explained the recording system was motion activated, so not reliably motion activated, though. Some clips were a minute long, others just 30 seconds. Some they would skip or jump in midway through a conversation. There was no clear pattern making the footage inconsistent and not like the easiest to follow but hey it was something right so what did they find we will find out the state moved on the footage from march fourth twenty twenty three at one forty nine p m and the u s p.s truck was seen delivering mail to the crack home and just a few minutes later james was seen on surveillance walking out to the mailbox, collecting the mail, and heading back inside, quickly getting that mail as soon as it was
Starting point is 00:12:16 dropped off. And Detective Olson then walked the court through Exhibit 129, in Amazon order for what, arsenic? Exhibit 130 confirmed the delivery that was dropped off that same day, March 4th, directly into the Craig family mailbox, and the mailbox that James Craig quickly went and emptied. And then the state brought in another piece of evidence. The letter James wrote while in jail to Nate Harris's ex-wife, Cawsey. On page six, James made a damning admission. It reads, quote, at the beginning of March 2020, I had arsenic delivered to the house, end quote. And then we were shown clip 32 from the home surveillance system. And in that, James was seen in the kitchen mixing something and microwaving it. There was a cup with a noticeable pink liquid inside.
Starting point is 00:13:07 the timestamp when was it shortly after that mail delivery the puzzle piece is just like we're finding everything we started with the edges and we are like fully in the center putting every single puzzle piece into this puzzle there are like no missing pieces and why thanks to james craig himself the next morning at 602 a.m there was audio of james talking to angela in the kitchen just 40 minutes later at 645 the craigs super route was seen driving away from the house and at 3rd 3rd 703 a.m. fairly 15 minutes later, Angela texted James saying that she felt strange and unwell. So after microwaving some liquid and giving her some food and having a discussion and all of a sudden she's unwell. And on March 6th, the timeline picked up again. Search history on James' devices
Starting point is 00:13:58 show activities starting at 736 a.m. and ending at 739 a.m. that evening, just after 4 p.m., surveillance showed James leaving the house in their Ford expedition. And on 628, he returned. And on March 7th, surveillance footage from the kitchen captured a heated argument between James and Angela. Angela was clearly upset. And this is one of the things she said. Quote, no one in their right mind would ever say I'm suicidal. Name one person.
Starting point is 00:14:27 It's your fault. They treated me like I was at suicide risk or like I did this to myself. like nothing I should say should be believed, end quote. So James responds, quote, I told them that because you were accusing me, they needed to do a drug panel, end quote. So in other words, James is admitting that James is trying to claim that she is going to self-harm, but that actually James then admits the only reason he told them that is because she was accusing him not because she actually was going to self-harm. It's pretty damning that he doesn't believe that she will self-harm. Ryan Reynolds here for MintMobile. I don't know if you knew this,

And so then at one point, Angela even turned the question on James asking if he was the one that was going to self-harm. And the very next day, the footage shifted. The argument was done. And now Angela and James were having what sounded like a calm conversation about yesterday's argument, possibly, maybe. James said to her, quote, I can never tell if your memory is intact or not. You haven't been eating much lately, end quote.
Starting point is 00:17:09 And next, Detective Olson walked the jury drew an order form showing that James had purchased. What else? Oleander. And this order was scheduled for him to pick up locally. The following day, surveillance showed James moving in and out of the kitchen and the refrigerator repeatedly, as if he was making or checking on something. And eventually, Angela walked into the kitchen. and asked him what he was doing.
Starting point is 00:17:33 He didn't give a clear answer, and soon after left the house in their Subaru. Well, that same night, there was a receipt, Exhibit 132 from King Supers, showing a purchase James made. And the next morning at 5.07 a.m., James was seen on camera again this time, a black shaker bottle and handling it.
Starting point is 00:17:56 He was messing with it a lot, but it's not clear exactly what he, was doing, but that shows it wasn't so simple. He's he's handling the shaker bottle, messing with it a lot. Unclear exactly what was happening, but we can guess. And after court returned from lunch, the jury saw another clip again in the kitchen. Once more, James appeared to be handling the shaker bottle. And the state then introduced exhibits 62 and 63. And these were records of internet searches made on February 27th from Summerbrook Dental exams, room nine, infamous room nine. Olson confirmed that the internet searches happened between
Starting point is 00:18:37 234 and 338 p.m. And to help Detective Olson explain this timeline, the state tried to show her a printed copy of a report put together by investigator Garrett Lord. But the defense immediately objected. Of course they did. Their argument, though, was that Olson shouldn't rely on another investigator's material to explain things. It's kind of fair. But the judge called yet another sidebar to sort it out and ultimately overrule the defense's objection, allowing the prosecution to proceed, but with some clarification. So exhibits 79 and 79A,
Starting point is 00:19:08 which were based on investigator Garrett-Lords report, would be used for demonstration purposes only. That was how they compromised. They're tied specifically to Garrett-Lords' earlier testimony. And a new version, Exhibit 79B, will become the official exhibit that will actually go back with the jury during deliberations. And then the state pulled up slide seven from Lord's report presentation.
Starting point is 00:19:33 Detective Olson used it to confirm the phone location data from February 27. Between 247 and 248 p.m., James' phone was p.m. And at the same time, Angela's phone was located at the Craig residence. And this means that Angela couldn't have been the one conducting those searches. Olson then referenced Exhibit 76, which is basically a master index of surveillance clips. She confirmed that there is footage from February 27th at 254 p.m. Just minutes after those phone pings. The video shows Angela in the kitchen alone.
Starting point is 00:20:07 Clip 75 through 78 was then played in court. And the state was layering phone data and home surveillance to reinforce the timeline. So not only is there surveillance, let's pull the phone data and tell you that this is exact. So moving forward to March 6th, surveillance video from earlier that morning showed Angela drinking something around 5.30 a.m. And shortly after, at 602 a.m., another clip showed James speaking with Angela. And after that, Olson also testified that more internet searches were made at the same computer at Summerbrook Dental between 737 and 739 a.m.
Starting point is 00:20:46 So later that afternoon, surveillance showed someone driving the family's expedition away from the Craig home at 4.52 p.m. Detective Olson then stated that in order for potassium cyanide was placed on March 8, 2023 through Midland Scientific. The shipping label read James Craig Personal, and James texted his employee, Caitlin Romero, giving her a very specific set of instructions. He said that a package was arriving the next day labeled James Craig Personal. He told her not to open it, just set it on his desk. That same evening, surveillance footage showed James in the kitchen.
Starting point is 00:21:26 handling a shaker bottle. Toward the end of the clip, Angela walked in and asked him what he was doing. We're all wondering the same thing, Angela. And then at 10.39 p.m., video shows James leaving the home in a Subaru just 15 minutes later at 10.54 p.m. Another clip shows James driving the Subaru back to the house.
Starting point is 00:21:46 The prosecutor ties it all together with Exhibit 132, a King Super receipt, dated March 8 at 10.50 p.m. Exhibit 135 was a photo of the back of James's credit card. The last four digits matched the card used for the King's Super's purchase. On the morning of March 9th at 507 a.m., home surveillance captured James moving in and out of the fridge, repeatedly, repeatedly moving in and out of the fridge. He was handling both a black shaker bottle and a white cup. This is clip 75 through 65, which the court played for the jury. Detective Olson pointed out that the footage jumped forward in time during
Starting point is 00:22:24 the clip. James goes from being shirtless to fully dressed for work, but the white cup remains in the frame the entire time. As a clip continues, we can see that Angela is now on the couch, and James brings her that black shaker bottle. The next day, just after midnight on March 10th, the video showed James driving the family's expedition back to the house. Exhibit 133 was introduced next, a king super's receipt from March 9th at 1016 p.m. going to purchase. is of what seven bottles of vising yeah not three not four not five six seven seven seven bottles of vising and exhibit one thirty five was a photo of james's credit card with the last four digits matching the receipt for the vising on slide 57 from investigator lorth's presentation it confirms that between
Starting point is 00:23:14 ten and ten o six p.m. on march ninth james's phone was pinging near that same king super's location on march 11th at seven thirty six a.m. surveillance showed james driving the the expedition away from the Craig residence. Flight 65 showed James' phone and the expedition at Summerbrook Dental from 718 to 833 a.m. Slide 69 tracks them again from 913 a.m. to 9.54 a.m. Slide 71 shows the expedition alone between 9.56 a.m. and 1038 a.m. and finally, slide 75 showed both phone and vehicle from 6.28 p.m. to 7.10 p.m. The prosecution then introduced Exhibit 94 in email sent that evening at 7.19 p.m. from the Jim and Waffles account to Cassie Rodriguez at Midland Scientific.
Starting point is 00:24:06 In it, James wrote, quote, wow, it's 7.30 at night and I've been waiting all day at my office for the shipment. Please send me the tracking information when you get it, Dr. Craig, end quote. And later that night, at 10.53 p.m. surveillance footage showed James in the kitchen, packing, a bag and then leaving the house. Olson identified the bag he picked up from the kitchen island a gray single-strap backpack. Detective Grave collected the backpack matching that description from the residents later on and the defense objected, claiming there was no foundation for the identification, but Olson clarified that she was present when Grau collected the backpack, so the judge overruled the objection.
Starting point is 00:24:48 The state then introduced still images to 70 and 271 taken from the clip showing James handling the backpack. Olson then turned to slide 78 from Investigator Lorre's presentation to lay out another piece of the timeline. She testified that between 1133 p.m. and 1150 p.m. on March 11th, James's iPhone and the family's expedition traveled from the Craig residence to Parker Adventist Hospital. And next, Olson referenced Exhibit 116, Angela's medical records, and reads two time entries allowed. Rapid Response team was initiated at 1.10 a.m. on March 12th, and there was was a provider note time stamped just 40 minutes earlier at 12.30 a.m. And then on March 13th, slide 84 showed James' phone near Summerbrook Dental between 137 p.m.
Starting point is 00:25:36 and 301 p.m. Detective Olson testified that surveillance footage from March 14th showed Angela returning home from the hospital. And later that night, at 1031 p.m., James was seen on camera retrieving a shaker bottle with a pink lid from under the kitchen island. Olson verified that still photo 216 and 217 captured James grabbing that same pink top shaker bottle. And despite objections from the defense, both still photos were admitted into evidence. Moving to the next morning, surveillance video from March 15th at 6.20 a.m. showed James at the fridge with that same pink top shaker bottle visible in the sink. Just minutes later at 628 a.m., surveillance showed him walking toward the bedroom carrying something. And the pink top shaker bottle was no longer in the sink. Clip 75 through
Starting point is 00:26:24 108 was played and paused at 45 seconds showing James leaving the house. He was driving the family's expedition at 6.49 a.m. using slide 89 from Investigator Lord's presentation. Olson testified that between 11 a.m. and 1117 a.m., James's phone and the expedition traveled from Summerbrook Dental to the University of Colorado Hospital. Flight 90 showed that between 1203 p.m. and 12.23 p.m. both James and the expedition traveled back from the hospital to the Craig resident. Detective Olson testified that surveillance footage from March 15th at 1224 p.m. showed James returning home. He briefly appeared in and out of frame carrying items. Then Clip 75 through 115 was played and paused at 31 seconds, showing James driving the expedition away from the
Starting point is 00:27:14 house at 1230 p.m. Olson also said that she reviewed surveillance footage from University Hospital on March 15. The prosecution moved to Exhibit 78, which Olson said, is the index for the hospital surveillance footage contained in Exhibit 77. Exhibit 78 was admitted into evidence and Olson said that University Hospital surveillance shows James arriving at the security area for the first time on March 15th at around 1121 a.m. Footage at 1152 a.m. shows James exiting room 13, Angeles Hospital Room. Using a pointer, Olson showed the jury, his exact location and the doorway. And then, Olson said that at 1.31 p.m., James was seen returning to the hospital security
Starting point is 00:28:01 area carrying food. Shortly after, at 133 p.m., James was seen approaching Angela's hospital room again, food in hand. Olson also testified about Clip 9, the final and longest video from Exhibit 77. It began with James exiting room 13 and walking into a nearby restroom. And then, Exhibit 248 is a photo of James holding something while walking. It appeared to be a thin, white, or clear item held in his left hand. Exhibit 249 zoomed in on that image, giving a closer look at the object. Exhibit 250 showed James standing alongside an ER nurse as they reenter Angela's hospital room. Detective Olson also confirmed that in clip 9 of Exhibit 77, James and Mark Frey were seeing exiting
Starting point is 00:28:50 Angela's hospital room together. And then about 10 minutes later, the surveillance shows James reentering Angela's room. Olson confirmed that no one else entered the room between his exit and return. And the clip continued. And at 29 minutes and 15 seconds, James was seen exiting the hospital room again, about 40 seconds after coming back in. Surveillance then shows James walking to the nurse's station and making a gesture pointing to his arm. Olson said that James was inside Angela's hospital room for exactly one minute before leaving and approaching the nurse's station. In Exhibit 257, Detective Olson described James standing at the nurse's station with his right arm near his right thigh. When Olson began to mention James repeatedly touching a cargo pocket,
Starting point is 00:29:37 the defense quickly objected. I wonder why. Because when I pointed that out, I'm like, whoa. And when Olson began to mention, so this, right, he's touching his cargo pocket. And the defense quickly objects kind of emphasizes that even more, this is something they don't want to see. Well, the judge, though, sustained the objection and struck that statement from the record. But we all heard it. So there you go. Olson then testified that about seven minutes later, surveillance footage showed James walking down a hallway and then returning. Exhibits 260 through 264 were still images taken from that clip, capturing James walking down the hallway and coming back.
Starting point is 00:30:20 Olson testified that this hallway leads to a dead end near the hospital's main sharps container. That leads to a dead end in the hospital near a Sharps container, guys, where syringes and needles are disposed up. She said that she isn't aware of any bathrooms or exits in that hallway. So why would he be going down there? Olson then said that exhibits 265 and 266 show James sitting in a chair holding his cell phone sometime after he returned from that hallway. Olson identified Exhibit 61 as a compiled record of phone data for James and Angela, Karen Kane, Caitlin Romera, Ryan and Michelle Redfern, Mark and Ryan Prey. She clarified that she did not create or color code this document. The defense
Starting point is 00:31:09 raised a concern about the unidentified color. coding in the exhibit and at objects. The judge called for a sidebar, again, to discuss the objection and the jury was sent out of the room. And after the jury came back in, Olson explained that Exhibit 61 used light and dark shades of the same color to show incoming and outgoing calls for each person. The defense pointed out that Exhibit 61 leaves out some key people like Carrie Heggseth, one of the sugar babies, and other important people to this case. Olson agreed that this exhibit only includes selected data. The defense then objected under Rule 106, arguing that the exhibit is incomplete. Olson then confirmed that the data from Exhibit 61 came directly from a physical
Starting point is 00:31:57 Apple iPhone tied to James. However, it does not include Google account data, which was produced separately. So to get the full picture of the communication timeline, the jury would need to look at other admitted exhibits alongside Exhibit 61. So the judge admitted Exhibit 61 and two evidence, with the objection noted for the record. The state also admitted Exhibit 60, which was a four-page handwritten timeline from James himself. Detective Olson explained that this was James' first written statement about what he said happened to Angela. You thought this was your run club era. The state highlighted that nowhere in James' timeline does he mention Angela. setting him up or any game of chicken allegations. Instead, in his own timeline, James admitted to, are you ready, opening a seeking.com account, seeking arrangements.com account, having affairs with roughly six different women. I'm going to speculate probably more now because he's admitting to six, taking one woman on a ski
Starting point is 00:34:29 trip, going to Vegas for another affair. after returning from Vegas on February 25th, 2023, is confirmed by Exhibit 61. James said that he asked Angela for a divorce. According to him, Angela responded by saying she would end her life. In the same handwritten statement, James made several more allegations about Angela.
Starting point is 00:34:49 He claimed that she mentioned crashing her car, but was afraid she might survive after crashing it into a pylon. And then she started talking about suicide. by poisoning. James said that Angela said she might overdose on benzos, but doubted it would work because of her high tolerance. James statement also claimed that Angela research poisons herself, but realized they were unreliable and painful. And then it asked him to look into poisons, so Angela allegedly asked James to look into poisons that would kill quickly, accurately, and affect a broad range. Detective Olson,
Starting point is 00:35:32 confirm that there is no digital evidence supporting the Angela research poison. In James's own words, he said, quote, I research different poisons. And then he listed tetrahydrosline, arsenic, cyanide, and oleander. He also admitted to purchasing iDrops, arsenic, oleander, and potassium cyanide. And the state showed exhibits 132, which were 12 bottles of isine and exhibit 133, which was seven bottles of isine. So we're talking 19 bottles of Izyne. James also wrote that while he refused to administer the poisons himself, he agreed to prepare
Starting point is 00:36:08 dosages and instructions so that Angela could take them on her own. He wrote that he told Angela that their text and public behavior needed to look loving and sweet, a planned performance so that no one would know that she might self-harm. His handwritten statement also tied Angela's March 6th ER visit to eyedrops, claiming she tried them but either the dosage was off or she didn't take them all. And a few days later, James said that Angela asked for arsenic in her protein shake. According to him, she chugged it down. In his own handwritten timeline, Exhibit 60, James made another admission. I did not want to tell the physicians what she had taken because she wasn't telling them what she had taken either. End quote. So in the note, James admitted to ordering arsenic,
Starting point is 00:36:56 cyanide, and oleander, preparing dosing instructions. putting on a show in public, stockpiling 17 bottles of eyedrops, and now he's added that his silence was deliberate in the ER as well. And again, Olson reiterated that after thoroughly reviewing the timeline and all related evidence, she found no indication that Angela had researched any poisons or so let's break down what we saw in court today. We watched footage of James retrieving a package from the mailbox, and then he was seen in his kitchen mixing something up, a blender bottles out,
Starting point is 00:37:28 He was preparing drinks and then taking those drinks directly to his wife, Angela. Surveillance also showed him going back and forth between his office, the hospital, and his home. At one point, we see him pack a bag and bring it to the hospital. Cameras then caught James going into the bathroom and coming out holding what appeared to be a clear object in his hand. And then after Mark, Prey left the hospital, James then went into Angela's hospital room. He was only there for about one minute before he was shown gesturing to his arm at the nurse's station. And if you remember, he told the nurses that Angela was complaining of arm pain. But when they walk in, she was convulsing and unresponsive then.
Starting point is 00:38:08 What did he do? He headed down the hall near the Sharps container where you syringes are typically thrown away. And with how damning this evidence was, James tried to flip the narrative. In his written statement, he claims that Angela was depressed and it actually asked him to help her poison herself. That's the story he wanted people to believe because he was like, oh yeah, this evidence is damning. In fact, it's probably going to look like I poisoned my wife.
Starting point is 00:38:32 So let me explain. She was suicidal and I, she asked me to help poison her. That's his story. But with that, court ended for the day, meaning we still have more to hear from Detective Olson next week. On Monday, she will continue on the stand, including her cross-examination, which I'm sure will be very interesting because of the amount of sidebars and objections there were today. I think it's clear the defense also knows how damning
Starting point is 00:39:04 this evidence is, and they are ready for, I am sure, a big cross-exam. So we will be following and covering every moment in court. So stick with us. And until then, I have a request. We, of course, have taken on the big task of bringing you minute to minute details of the trial of James Craig. And we have decided this for many reasons. A, I believe in transparency as a journalist. And when I learn that there is a trial without cameras in the courtroom, that does something in me. It sparks something in me.
Starting point is 00:39:41 I think the public needs to know. Secondly, I'm angry. I am angry that Angela is no longer alive. and that something may have happened to Angela by someone she trusted, allegedly, until the jury lets us know what they believe after they've seen all of the evidence. And I care about Angela Craig. And third, I know that I have a platform where I can share this information. If you guys value these daily recaps and if it is something that matters to you,
