And then I get the text from Jack this morning. Hey, uh, come on record today. Give me 20. Give me 20 minutes. 25 minutes. I was up at 30. Give me an hour.

It's all I need. Okay. Give me 25. I was up at 2 a.m. Still gritting. You kidding me. I'm fired up, man. I just like,

they just won the division for the second time I remember thinking I'm never going to see this team ever won the division again which is about as dramatic as it can be but it was some dark times during the run and now we just sit here and they're back-to-back division champs

again this is not a franchise that has been blessed with so much success this is the third best run in the history of the franchise that's been around since 1883 and it's time to end it. Like, it's just time to end it. And the way they even won last night.

Oh, it was awesome. I know you woke up your grinded at 3.30 this morning, I'm sure. Condense game, highlights, the whole thing. Yeah. But even the way they won and came back and kept fighting. It looked awesome, man. It was awesome. It was awesome.

It was not, especially the Harbor Homer and then to give it back. It's like, you got to be kidding me. Can you get on the C-Saw? It was beautiful. I think the way they want actually added to the way that they celebrated. Topper said it. Topper literally said that in the interview, I think it was on with McCarthy,

where he was like, like, yeah, winning it like this made it more special for us. Like he literally said that, which makes sense. It's an awesome baseball game. It's a kind of baseball game.

You get excited to win, period, just on a Friday in June or whatever, you know? Again, because I'm addicted to bringing things back to the Eagles. Yeah, you are.

It's a little much, you know? It's, yeah, listen. Mr. Eagles, at Philly's games over here.

Yes. Phil and I bring that up again. No, I'm just kidding. No, but that's actually why I think the Eagles reacted the way they did to winning the Super Bowl. It was so weird. They were all just like, yeah, that was cool, but like, but if it was a back and forth and like,

mom and they barely squeak it at the end. I think that they're like melting down on the field. Not a bad call. You're right. It was 40 to 6 when they dumped Gatorade on. It was over and half time. On Siriani's head. Like, so I think, so winning the game last night, I think added to it, but I just, it continues, it just

continues to feel like the year. It really does. It does. It just does. And they might not win it, but it feels like it. The idiot that you host the morning show. Oh, I'm annoying. I mean, someone, someone said he was like Eeyore. Yes. Yeah. By the way, I think that's heard uptick in Eeyors recently. Yours coming around. So you, my buddy Jason, chat to my buddy Berkson, we've always called him Eeyore. He's just always had an Eeyore vibe. My buddy Jason, you've met him. He's in our fantasy league. Always had an Eeyer vibe. So like this is, you know. I feel it's just been

an uptick in the EOR usage. I agree. No, that's what I'm saying. We've been calling Eeyore for years and now I'm hearing everyone throw Eeyore's rounds. Good. It's good. It's appropriate for certain things. Yeah. Like, all right. So he said that he felt better in 23, right? Is that what he said about heading? Yes,

which is insanity. Well, I guess the Wheeler is the only I'm sorry. The Wheeler thing is the only flip that you can make that way. So I was thinking about it when he said it because I was just trying to contextualize where we're at. Now, 23, they did have the magic of, you know, the Turner stuff in August and remember Harper went nuts. Yeah, that's true. And they work, we were coming off the 22 runs. So where that still felt like almost wanted that was fun. There was none of this like, oh, they're going to choke in the playoffs. That was that, that is an important fact. So the 23 team,

so you had that, you had the Turner thing, you had the Lorenzen no hitter, you're the Weston Wilson home run in his first game, which is also Lorenz and no hitter. Like you they had some stuff. No, you're right. You're right. So, but I think where the difference is is you look at this team and it's hard to read like you could you could find a flaw if you wanted, but it's more nitpicky at this point rather and like I guess just prior

history. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Mars. Well, these guys hit in the playoffs, but like sure right now the way they're playing, they've been really good. So you look at 23. Obviously you had Peak Wheeler. like Wheeler was still a peak of his power so you won't have that this year but you had no idea really about Ranger you felt good at Sanchez was a believer for you Sanchez was like just starting

in the playoffs in the playoffs you know what I mean he was in the bullpen in the playoffs he started he started that game he started game three out in Arizona Arizona not 10 years excuse me yes Jesus I'm thinking at 22 he came out of the pet and that's my bad bad job by me so 23

you feel better about Ranger now than you did You feel better about Chris Sanchez, obviously, than you did. Lazzardo is different. They, like, they don't, they didn't have this where the rotation is, even without Wheeler. And Wheeler was amazing at 23. Bullpen's definitely better. Well, bullpen. So by that point, at that point, we knew by September, we knew Kimber was going to be a problem.

Well, there was no closer. There was no closer. Now, what was Kimbril, man. Kimbril was the closer for a while. Yeah. So Duron changes that. But Strom is, I think, back to being close to what Strom has been as a Philly. You know, D-Rob, the stone's on D-Roy.

I love it. By the way, pretty yoked for 40 plus. I know. Like in the locker room celebration, shirts off. I was like, that David Robertson. So pretty yoked. And his stuff just looks better than it ever does as a Philly. Without a doubt.

Which is crazy. So, like, you just look at the team and you go offensively. J.T. you think is better than he was at that point. I mean, he's younger. So I guess he believed in him more, but he's had a good offensive year. Harper might mess around and still hit 30 home runs with a 500 plus plug and pretty close he's right there. I think stocks better now.

Trey's, now Trey was going nuts by that point. So would Trey at this first has been a good player. He's better all year than 23 for sure. Bome, same player. It doesn't matter. Marsh way better, Bader way better.

It is wild. Boom, just everyone just kind of walk fast. Again, again, Kempie with the big hit last night. I know, the double that kind of sparked the run.

Come on, man. Come on, man. Castion Wright. not as good as 20s. If you imagine if they just play camp, they're in the playoffs. It'd be hilarious. It'd be hilarious.

and it turned out it was that chance where they had the Diamondbacks and the Rangers and these teams that were very beatable. But going into the playoffs, we didn't know that. Going in the playoffs, the Mets and Braves were both 100 plus win heading towards. You know, like, it seemed like a much tougher road to hoe. Like this year, like, I know the Dodgers are still the Dodgers and all up, but they've not been the Dodger. I mean, they're going to be the three seed. you know the there and i brewers have been great and on but like there's no team where you look at

and you're like well they're just way better than the failure they're they're scary how do you play them like it does feel like it's kind of opened up a little more and again the dodgers i still deserve that you know there's still the die they could turn they get the playoffs it's like up there they go there they go they dodgers but it does feel more open than i expect to and then i think it did in 2023 even though played out differently yeah so so getting the one seed would still be great from the standpoint of your face in the podgers or cubs in the first It would be huge. Or in the DS.

In the second round, yeah. In the DS. Just neither of those teams scares you. No. And then just don't. Yeah. So the division series would probably be the toughest one for the Phillies if they get to Tuesday, because they are playing the Dodgers.

Now at the same time, like watching that Dodgers team. Or the Mets. Or the Mets. Right. I guess. Assuming they make the way out. Yeah. So like what, but watching that team last night, that bullpen isn't look nearly as, as, as

formidable as it did, you know. And I guess they could put some of the rotation guys in there and that could change the equation. But, you know, lineup wise. Obviously, Mookie's heating up. Otani's heating up. Freeman is Freeman. But after that, you know,

Pahez is, I think Paz is actually a good player. The Big Dog, did you hear that? Did you take it in front to that? No. Dodgers said, Andy Pazes, the big dog.

Wow. I can't believe it. I was like, I know a big dog. His name is Jack Pritz. That's right. That's what everyone says. But like, Alex Call is hitting fifth for them.

The Oscars had a down year. They started Miguel Rojas, the second base last night. I saw as a, that's a direct shot at the Phillies. Very clearly. That's very purposeful. Like, they're fine. Yeah.

They're fine. They're not as scary as, yeah. Yeah, they're not unbeatable. So. They are getting guys back like glass now is healthy again. Yamamoto's been awesome. He's been awesome. Snells pitching.

So like it does feel like they're kind of getting guys back. They would look, would be that shocking if those three guys just, I mean, like, if healthy i mean that is a formidable playoff rotation right of course yeah of course of course i mean and they had they had no shot against she in last night oh dude what's a five and two thirds no hit he was well came in like boom well and he had he has that fastball where you can see the rise to it like short work couldn't even get on top of it that's how good of a fastball was like

you almost got to like hope he's just out of the strike zone with it up because you can't really like people say get on top of the baseball easier said than done yeah those guys those guys could Just get on it. All right. Go on the head down. Yeah. Head down. Pull it together.

Swing down on the baseball. Swing down on the baseball. That'll do it. Chop it. But I don't know. It was a, it was a real, they, it was pretty funny when T-Mack said, this is a workman's like celebration. Oh, it was like, dude, is you crazy?

This just looks exactly like all the other ones. They had beer bongs. John Middleton. They had beer bongs before. John Middleton was ripping down beer bongs. Like, what are you talking about workman like, Tom? yeah how do we feel about that because we can we did say yes they were like me we're fine in the playoffs for this one we're like it was it is what it was a little much it's who they are i thought

it was a little much but you know well like it's who they are it's i did like the speech i thought there's good do the speech the speech is give me chill amazing and that whatever that takes top or my my favorite line ever said in any of those things that was so great yeah i don't i don't know that i love the you know for those that aren't here anymore i'll alvarado like and i'm fine it just sounded weird whatever but on the whole like i i would have preferred slightly more reserved but like i'm i'm okay with it i think and they're gonna lose 10 nothing to i think where i got which is the annoying part because they do because they do it to so fight especially the ones i think look they're gonna get the two knock on wood they're five and a half

up on the dodgers with 11 to play like they're almost definitely going to get the two seed you're only a game not back and tiebreaker they don't have but like getting that one seat really you're right it doesn't and not just that like even, you know, like having home field advantage against the Brewers, if they play them, would matter. I mean, they have the best home market, Philly's the best one marker in baseball. Like, it does matter.

No, it does. It does. And I just think about the Brewers, just thinking about 08. Every time I see highlights of the 2008 series, how the hell did Jeff Supon last in Major League Baseball? Oh, I know, forever. With just slop. Yeah. I mean, it was 88 mile an hour

right down the middle, slop. This is around forever, Jeff Supon just kept pitching. So they're not facing Jeff Supon this time around. Very different. They're facing like Freddie Peralta and this whole, you know, monsters they have coming out of the bullpen. It's a little different.

But no, yeah. So it was, I guess, I guess where I got to is that I think I just have a lot of trust in this team to where I think they all talked about how last night, this is just the first step. I know that's what they're going to say. It's lip service, whatever. But I think there is a different level of trust with them to, where I think they're going to be

able to just lock back in when they need to lock back in. And tonight might be rough. You know, honestly, just get it out the way early so we can go to bed. Oh, yeah, that's the move. But it's Sanchez and Sanchez will be really good. That's true. Sanchez will bring it. Yeah. And Harper will be in there because he was drinking apple juice

last night. So he's fine. So funny. He's fine. Someone did try to sneak a beer in. Did they? That's when Harper failed. Got him out of there. Got out of there. Don't do this to me. Yeah. But, but, man, it was just seeing them celebrate again really brought you back brings you right back yeah right back and look harper speaking of harbour i thought you rarely see him show that kind of emotion

circling the bases when he hit that home run like he'll do the stare down he'll do the like you can kind of tell that he knows the moment is big or he'll celebrate when he gets home played or whatever but he will very rarely rounding first base do that fist pump and the yell like like that was exciting especially i was thinking about the quote you talked around the pod yesterday because yes we did record a pod yesterday. The quote about the October's common thing, and it made me think about that. It was like,

this guy feels moments. Well, I think he, my read on that reaction was like, finally. Yeah. Because I feel like it's been a while. And there's,

he struck out earlier in the game. There's some tweets coming out like, man, it feels like it's been a while since Harvest had like a big homer. And then he, and they did that. I think that was,

that was almost just a release of like, you never seen do that I know that was really I know it jumped out well that that was a playoff game last night yeah it was totally and that's what made it so impressive like that was a playoff game against the defending world series champs and the Phil's had an answer for

everything they did and and it's been the difference with this team rather than the last couple teams is I feel like they just take it to teams rather than laying down we've arguably no team better in baseball at that at laying down hallmark and just be like ah whatever we already want one two a three blah blah blah not these guys man like they there's a different level of of just we're not dead yet and and the and the most interesting part is there's a time in the middle of the summer when we would come on here and everyone I think had the same take of of man after you get past Turner oh yeah and harper oh yeah

it is a dreadful line we were yeah we were like the amount of pressure on these three like if they're not good this team screwed like and now you're just getting contribution from everyone. I'm expecting a big moment from March. Like, I'm expecting these guys that moment. I tell you what,

for a guy who's barely played, I mean, West Wilson, he's had moments. Dude, not just that. He also hits tanks. He hits,

like, Schwerber and Arpurs, Homer's like barely get over the fence last night. Wilson's was like gone off the bat. That one he hit it to his bank park to like, you know, not quite dead center, but just off center that like went up to Ashburn Alley almost like,

it was one of the furthest homeruns I thought all year. Like the dude hit some shots. West and Wilson. is going to play beer league softball until he looks like it like 60 he looks like he's like 45 right now swing is just it's so hitterish yeah it's like the old classic 90s like power hitter kind of guy also kind of a cat at second base I mean kind of kind of friskey kind of like a cat of second base I mean he's got a little little hose over there well he's got the arm yeah it's okay it's okay better than I would explain

fact. I'll give you that. For sure. Yeah. For sure. And again, I'm shocked at how good stuff looks at short stuff. Yeah. Yeah. It's been good. And that play at the end was tough, too. I mean, it was a weird kind of like a spin on that ball look like at least. How about, again, we've reached the just, you know, talking our way through this. Yeah. Well, we did a pot yesterday too. The play that range. Ranger made was so ridiculous. Like, I don't, it was, it's not as insane as the Velasquez's left-handed throw to first base. Even the fact that they won last night, they didn't get in until 3 a. I was surprised they won last. I really did not expect to wake up to a win. I really didn't. They got in at 3 a.m. Yeah. In L.A., and they were able to come back and win that baseball game. Come on, man.

Come on, man. Come on, man. They got it. Wow. They do. Again, you know what I said in here? Like, this is the most confident I've been in a team on September 16th, this whole run. Yeah.

Like, this just feels different. Yep. All right. Do you want to go through all the other random notes that I had for the game? And then let you go home? Before is yours. So, so what a bummer the Kirk hanging last night was? Oh, that was the other thing I wanted to bring out the Kergering thing.

Because like that, do you trust him for the playoffs? Because I don't. Well, no, but he was, the problem was he was really good last night. Yeah, the old tony at bat was great. Oh, it was a moment. Yeah. And then he missed a spot bite, like 15 inches. And Mookie, Mookie didn't miss it.

If they didn't get Duran and, and, uh, Robertson, I mean, Kirkren is your top right in at arm? Uh, yeah. Yeah, it was a bummer because I felt like he was starting to re-figure it out. I just haven't, he went, yeah, yeah. Like, fifth inning in a playoff game if you need him. Like, I just, I don't trust Kirk Green at all. Duron, okay. So he shook off J-T, and he threw the curveball, and it got,

it was one of the most hung pitches I've ever seen, and Pahas didn't miss it. I don't think that'll happen again. And I think what that was was, was. a he's he's really still finding the feel for that pitch it's not something i think he's thrown as much as he did and i think he was like getting overconfident and how good it was because it was so dominant early in the inning to where he got away from who he who he is sure so i think that was a learning moment i'm not like he was so good the rest of the end i know he kind of after that he had a little bit of a he got a little rocky but he locked back in that was a that was a

oh my god look at this new pitch i have i'm so confident in it like moment and i think that now i'm sure jt him will talk about it he shook off jt you don't shake off jt and they're going to move on and be fine so the pitch is still amazing but also can't be thrown all the time you still have 103 and a 99 mile hour splitter that are good pitches so do run on that what's that d rob was great he's my 40 year old avatar i love him He can't get enough. So, Bader didn't get a hit last night.

It's the first time in forever. We have like seven straight game or 10th straight game, whatever it was. But still made winning plays. I know. Yeah. He's the, yeah, ghost runner, yeah.

Double steal on the 10th, getting in position, being able to still score a run there. Winning plays, even when you're not hitting the baseball. What a gift. And I like the, I like,

I liked his energy in the, oh, in the celebration. Yeah, and his interview with T-Macket, that was. His interview, I thought, was, like, he's just, you really, and you see it, but he really does feel just so happy to be here and so happy to be a part of this thing. And it's like, it's very refreshing.

Well, and he was on the Mets last year, which is funny. Like, he's like, oh, this is so much better here. That felt like the most, now he was not that great for the Mets. So that's probably why. He was a bigger part of this for sure. One of the most interesting moments last night. And by the way, I think people can tell the kids were asleep. So I was able to just watch the baseball game.

Oh, yeah. Yeah, P got notes and everything is good. Dude, he pinch hit Casty still after the Harper home run, which was insane against the righty. Wow. You did? Yeah. Wow. Yeah.

Like, Harper at the home run, they go up. You do not need to pull Brandon Marsh from that game. Yeah. And he left Cassiana. Why? He let Cassiano's pitch out there. That's so weird. So I think what happened was.

That's crazy. I think what happened was. He told him before the inning, you're pinch hitting. Yeah, and he didn't want to go back on it? Yeah. That's weak. Well, you have to manage a clubhouse. You also have to manage a baseball game.

Look, if it's a playoff game, I think he probably doesn't do that. Yeah. That was a lefty, my bad. It was a lefty on the map. Oh, okay. Even still, though, but like, I would keep the better. You'll one run lead in Dodger Stadium. Big stadium, big outfit, yep.

Leave Brandon Marsh in the game. I agree. And that's pretty much it. Oh, look at you. Pretty much. How happy you. I'm stoked. Me too.
