Starting point is 00:00:22 It's a dusk edition of the final out. Jack Fritz hanging out with you here on this Wednesday. day evening. I'm not talking to you at 1030. I'm talking to you at 7.10 on what was a historic historic day in Philly's franchise history. These days don't come around very often. The final out is sponsored by the Philadelphia Parking Authority offering valet park in Philadelphia Airport. I mean, listen, we'll get into it, but that's the thing that kind of hit me today as going through that game and seeing Sanchez do it is these kind of days, they just don't happen very often. This is a special, special run. The game wrap-up is sponsored by Rotoruder when plumbing
Starting point is 00:01:09 problems hit, wrap them up quick and call Rotor. Their team tackles clogs and leaks so you can stay in the game. Rotoruter, MVP for plumbing solutions. 215, 5992 to get in and react to not only sweeping the San Diego Padres, but of course Chris Sanchez is day. and maybe just maybe. The shortstop heating up a little bit. 215-592, 94-94. The biggest takeaways of the game are brought to you by Morgan and Morgan America's largest injury law firm.
Starting point is 00:01:38 And yes, Chris Sanchez sets a franchise record today and keeps it going, by the way. I saw this clip or tweet from Jason Stark. He has the third longest scoreless streak by a left-handed starter since 1900. And he's like right on the heels of the two guys ahead of him. him. He's the first pitcher since Hersheiser in 88 to have a scoreless month, a month. And obviously, we are on the heels of Hershizer. 59 is the record as Chris Sanchez just keeps doing his thing. And this is a franchise that has had some Titans, Titans in the pitching, you know, Pantheon, Carlton, Grover, Cleveland, Alexander, Robin Roberts, Halliday Lee, Hamels, Zach Wheeler, and Chris Sanchez.
Starting point is 00:02:31 This franchise has been around since 1883. That record, like this is why baseball is the best sport to ever exist. That record had been held for a hundred and 15 years. 1911, no one has had a longer streak than Chris Sanchez. So what you saw today is more rare than the Phillies win the World Series. It's something that, quite frankly, this month of May by Chris Sanchez, we may never see ever again as Philadelphia sports fans. That's what we're witnessing.
Starting point is 00:03:12 And if it's all set and done and he sets the record for a left-handed starter, I mean, he already has the seventh longest ever, which is impressive. but he's starting to etch his name into extremely rarefied error that will be brought up forever. So this is incredible. And he's the favorite to win the Salyang, dying for him to win it. Miserowski can have whatever. He's got plenty of Scyungs probably in his future. Chris Sanchez deserves this one.
Starting point is 00:03:44 And I know Miserosky's been amazing. It's funny, like Miseroski and Kyle Harrison are essentially matching what Wheeler and Sanchez have done. this month, they've been great. But Chris Sanchez just went a whole month without allowing a run. A whole month without allowing a run. And, you know, I think in watching it, a little bit early, it kind of felt as if, he's a little bit tight, you know, there's some balls early that, and there's several balls in that first four innings that probably would have gone out at CBP, but thankfully,
Starting point is 00:04:15 they were out in, uh, thankfully they were out in L.A. And that, you know, the last inning, the fourth inning to get it, it was so funny watching everyone because everyone, I think, knew what was going on. I thought Chris was a little bit tight. And, you know, Machado has the ball to wall. He lets it a big exhale. That would have just been crushing if that ball went out. Thankfully, it did not.
Starting point is 00:04:41 And then even Scott, like, that's a ground ball that he is like, I mean, routine for him. And I thought he was overthinking it as well. So, man, what an afternoon. What an afternoon. Those kind of games, these kind of moments, they don't happen very often. And he'll have a chance to extend his streak next week
Starting point is 00:05:04 against the same team. Padres are coming into town to face the Phillies. So we'll see if he can extend it. But man, what an afternoon as Chris Sanchez sets a franchise record for the school. scoreless streak that it stood for 115 years. Oh yeah. And the Phil's swept.
Starting point is 00:05:23 And the Philly swept. And on top of all this, it continues really just a run of dominance by the starting staff. I mean, on the road now, I believe four of the last five games have been shutouts. Like, the cool part about where the starting staff is right now
Starting point is 00:05:42 is that it feels like everyone is trying to want up each other. It really hit me when Wheeler was talking after his last outing, and it was almost like he was exhausted talking about Chris Sanchez because he was saying, that guy's hard to keep up with. And he is. He's a machine.
Starting point is 00:06:00 But all of a sudden, Lazzardo, leveling up, painter, leveling up, what Nola did last night, leveling up in a bit. They're all pushing each other. And this is what the great rotations do. This is what the 11 Phillies did. The four aces, they all pushed each. other. This is what the 90s Braves did. They all tried to push and one up each other. And that is what this team is doing right now. And that's what the starting staff is doing. Now, every single
Starting point is 00:06:25 game is going to be a little tight while the offense is going through their rut. Now, it might just be who the offense is. Every game is seemingly tight and coming down the wire and that can be grueling. They do need some lappers mixed in there. But nevertheless, they are able to go out after a frustrating homestand, a two and four homestand where the offense doesn't do too much and and losing two or three at the Guardians team and heading into the series, they're 31 and 20. And I just have, in watching them, I cannot believe that was their record. I mean, their offense is future.
Starting point is 00:06:58 I believe they're over their last 30. You know what about the Phillies, problems with runners in scoring position? And it's all valid. Over the last 30 with runners in scoring position, I believe the Padres are. It's not higher. So that is good stuff. 215, 592, 94, 24, to get. get in and react to Chris Sanchez.
Starting point is 00:07:18 Now, speaking of the offense, one guy who does look like he's coming out of it, maybe is Trey Turner. He talked a lot about how he's been working in the cages to stay through the baseball. Matt Gellbert, a great article this morning detailing that. And Trey, to his credit, and it's part of the reason why I think the ovation's happened, is that he is someone who works through things and is trying and is grinding. And he'll stay in the cages for hours after games just working, working, working. I mean, I actually think he might work a little bit too much, but he's been working on staying through the baseball and finishing his swing,
Starting point is 00:07:51 and you're starting to see it. I mean, Cassiano's made a great play early in the game on a ball of the opposite field. I couldn't believe he got there, not mine at Cassiano's, you know. Like, that's not what I saw in right field for the last couple of years. That ball was in the gap. I thought Schorber had a chance to go, obviously, first and third but even score. I thought it was going to get into the gap. He made a good play.
Starting point is 00:08:09 Shilber had to get back and not get thrown out at first base. and then he launched another home run. So I think I heard on the broadcast yesterday about Maddenly saying just kind of cut off half the plate and look to pull the ball, which is so different from what last year was and one of my frustration points with Rob Thompson, which was like used the whole field. No, let's start slugging and doing some damage.
Starting point is 00:08:34 So maybe Trey is looking more in or half and looking for pitches he can pull and do damage on. And last couple of last two nights, he's launched some big. baseball. So obviously they need Trey Turner to get going. Now there's a lot of deficiency when it comes to right-handed hitters in baseball right now, but it's not like a excuse. Trey is too good, I think, for how he's been. And he's, at least the last two nights, I feel as if you have not seen the ugly chase, he only went one for four today. But again,
Starting point is 00:09:03 like I mentioned, he hit that ball to the wall that I was surprised Cassiano's got to, and he did at least drive him to run in the inning where, you know, Schwerber singled up the middle to give the Phillies the first run of the ball game. So a good overall day out in San Diego as we witness history as Phillies fans, which is always special when that happens. On the other side, we will get to the player of the game. I think you give a hint as to who that will be, plus some other things that kind of stuck out to me tonight.
Starting point is 00:09:31 Now that's coming up next here on the Final Out on Sports Radio 94 WIP. His 2-0. That ball's hit on the ground right at Bryce and Stott gets in front of it, And he makes a throw and that's it. There you go. Christopher Sanchez got through the fourth. And now he becomes the all-time Phillies breaking that Grover Cleveland record at 41 and two-thirds record.
Starting point is 00:09:56 There it is Chris Sanchez. Kevin Stocker on the call. The final outsponsored by the Philadelphia Parking Authority. Jack Brett's hanging out with you here on this Wednesday evening as we react to the history for the Phillies as Chris Sanchez. does set the all-time record, a record that has stood for 115 years, the scoreless streak, which is crazy. You don't have these kind of moments very often.
Starting point is 00:10:22 It's a special thing to be a part of and witness, especially if you're like a super, super baseball sicko like a lot of us are in this town. Of course, Chris Sanchez is our player. The game brought to you by South Jersey Gas. Make the Smart Play, save energy and money with South Jersey Gas at SJG, saveenergy.com. Get us some other thoughts on this one tonight, but
Starting point is 00:10:45 John is in West Virginia. What's happening, John? Hi, how's it going, Jack? What's going on, man? Yeah, I just watched that Phillies game, had it marked on the calendar because I could watch it at work, you know? And
Starting point is 00:11:00 is it crazy that back in the day, Sanchez's spot in the rotation was Bailey Falters the Luce? I know, dude. I was man I was I believed in Fultor like the extension thing I remember it was so sad it was it almost reminded me of Altair versus Nick Williams Bailey Faulter versus Chris Sanchez and man I mean I was a Faulter guy a big old L for me but the level the leveling up the Chris Sanchez has done since that but he's something DFA watched three years ago yeah yeah I mean I was also a Fultor fan but you know you can't complain with the outcome I'll take it No, no, we're not complaining about Curtis Mead anymore. No, no, absolutely not.
Starting point is 00:11:49 Yeah, but Sanchez was just disgusting. The odd fest is still sketchy at best, but, you know, with the pitching, Mattingly said that it was like coaching Granky and Kershaw, so, like, we'll take that every day. Wow, yeah, and I appreciate the phone call, John. I think Granky's fourth, he's the fourth longest scoreless streak. and obviously peak his powers cranky and Kershaw like he had. I mean,
Starting point is 00:12:15 Wheeler and Sanchez are pretty dang close, but those two at the peak of their powers were great. But, man, what Sanchez is doing right now is, it's rarefied air. It's rarefied air. Dave's in Bent Salem. What's happening, Dave? Hey, what's up, Jack?
Starting point is 00:12:31 How are you? First thing and foremost, congratulations on debate today. My opinion, you won that debate. And Rhea's a bulldog. She's a bulldog. She's tough. But you did it because you know baseball
Starting point is 00:12:42 knowledge. I leave that ballpark every day. When I work there, you know, I've been working there for five years, and I listen to your final out, and I just learned so much more knowledge about the game from you, man, and I appreciate it, man. Well, thank you, Dave, and it was good to, I ran it to you the other day at the ballpark, so it was good to catch up with it. Yes, you did, and it just was a great win, man. I said to my staff, when I left last week, I said, look, they're going to come home four and two on this road trip. Somehow they play better on the road, Jack. You just got to be playing better at home. they got to figure out how to play better at home.
Starting point is 00:13:15 Yeah, well, it's crazy. And they have, was it, six straight road games now with the home run? Travis hit the one late. But, I mean, power-wise, they seem to do better on the road. May they play a little bit more at ease? They'll figure out the home thing. They've been a great home team for the last couple years. I think they will.
Starting point is 00:13:30 I think there's a lot of talent on this team. They just got it together. I love you, Jack. Thank you for Philly's baseball. And let's go, Phil's. Let's go, Phil. There he is. Dave in Ben, Salem.
Starting point is 00:13:41 I can't go any longer without talking about my pal, Dave in Maryland. What's happening, Dave? What's up? Just crazy. I don't know how sustainable the offensive output is, but Sanchez, oh, my God, it's just so fun to watch. Like, always at ease, always, never feel like he's going to buckle and, you know, Crawford with a great play out in center. You did. Well, it's so crazy, Dave.
Starting point is 00:14:10 we've watched great pitching here. I mean, we've watched great pitching here for a long time. I mean, I grew up on the Hamils, Halliday Lee. I didn't know if I'd see as good as them. And then Zach Wheeler came along, and it was like, wow, we have someone as good as them. And obviously, Noel had his run in 18, which was great. But besides that, I mean, has been a pretty good pitcher, but not this level. Ranger first half of 24 when he started the season, what, 10 and 0 was pretty dang close.
Starting point is 00:14:36 But this is, like, this is crazy for like a pitching guy. like me and you. I mean, this is unlike many things we've seen in the franchise's history, Dave. Yeah, 1-4-7. I was actually at the first game in the double-heder when he gave up his last run. I had to look at a month ago. And it's just nuts that that's happening right now. And, you know, it's just in the bullpen's kind of settling into their roles.
Starting point is 00:15:07 DeRan has really been good at one-run games this year. And, you know, obviously, you know, you're never going to get, you're not going to get that pitching every night. But if they can just find some semblance of consistency offensively and, you know, hopefully like, Trey, that's a spark moving them down a little bit. I mean, moving them down one spot. But I just feel like maybe that's just a pressure release on them the last couple of days. The swings have looked a little better. And hopefully, you know, I mean, he's what we need. He is exactly what we need.
Starting point is 00:15:38 We need a right-handed hitter to do something. And then in our last couple days, at least he's put bat on ball and then, you know, worked out some good results. So hopefully we can get two out of three in L.A. and come home five and one, that would be a more than expected road trip. But, you know, four and two would be great too. But, you know, let's go for five and one. That's the goal.
Starting point is 00:16:00 All right, Dave, appreciate the phone call. Yeah, we'll get to the pitching matchups coming up in L.A. next segment. So some other things that got out, he mentioned the bullpen. it is so funny how Duran is talked about in this town. He is blown three saves as a Philly, three. He is 10 for 10 this year. I know he loved a home run to Manzardo. I know sometimes it can be a balancing act or a high wire act.
Starting point is 00:16:24 The guy's third, I think the third highest save percentage in the history of baseball with the minimum of 100 saves. More often than not, he's going to get the job done. I know we were spoiled by Lidgen-08. I think we misremember some of those outings is like it wasn't always one, two, three. you know, sometimes he had to bob and weave his way out of innings. Duron is not a problem for the Phillies. He is a top five closer in baseball.
Starting point is 00:16:47 If you could even go to top three, he's pitched three out of the last four days. He takes the ball all the time. And like, I get it. The hard contacts, the hard contacts sometimes. But man, the guys, the guy's pretty dang good when you look at this thing holistically. Now, today, obviously Sanchez was great, so seven innings took care of, needing a lot of the bullpen, but it was good to see Jonathan Boland have a clean inning. He's a weird one. Him in Keller, I test-wise, they pass.
Starting point is 00:17:16 You know, the fastballs are good. Now, Keller is out of the zone a little bit too much for my liking, like nibbles just a bit. Like, I think maybe his face doesn't give off like bulldog vibes to me, and that's why I get frustrated. And then watching him nibble is annoying. Overall, I think he's a good pitcher that is going to get better, and maybe we have to get used to allowing one home run a week that's annoying. Bolin is someone who I think has elite fastball traits has a good feel for a split and a good feel for a sweeper.
Starting point is 00:17:47 It's just he can't find the consistency. So if he's someone that can get right to go along with what Kirkering's doing and Brad Keller is like 80% a good reliever. And then Duron and Alvarado having a clean ninth today was good. I mean, a lot of, there's some pieces here. hasn't been as good as I thought. It's definitely been more of a... It's been shakier than how I felt heading into the season.
Starting point is 00:18:12 I really thought that this had a chance to be their best bullpen since 08. And, you know, the 24 bullpen was really, really good, but I felt like this bullpen had a chance to be special with, like, Boland being the fourth righty and Keller with what he did with the Cubs. So that part has been disappointing, but maybe they're starting to find their footing and rounding into the form. Now, again, the Padres offense. is pretty pewter.
Starting point is 00:18:37 A lot of big names, but not a lot of results. I mean, Tatea still is not a hit of a home run. Jackson Merrill peaked at 20 years old, and Machado looks like he's slowing down physically. Now, he did almost hit two home runs today, and we'll get to the Crawford play in a second, but he's hit like 170. So, like, those guys have OPSs all under 650.
Starting point is 00:18:56 But Bolin and Alvarado having good day was nice to see. And then maybe just maybe, and Mundo Sosa settling in a little bit in left field. not super, super crisp out there, but it doesn't look like a deer or like a chicken running around with his head cut off. He is maybe starting to find his footing out there. And the game's slowing down for a little bit, him a little bit. I mean, that played with Machado got to the wall, fell for the wall, and made it look pretty routine. So if that's something he can do, great, because they obviously want to get him the lineup. They want to play Stout every day at second base
Starting point is 00:19:31 and make him in every day, kind of guy. Bowman's been good enough to where you don't have to get him off third base. If Edmuno can play left field, it would certainly, certainly help them. Speaking of the endless shuffle between AutoCemp and Felix Reyes, now Autocamp hasn't really played much since coming back up, but Felix Reyes, because of course, another home run today for the Iron Pigs and has an OPS up for 1,300. So those two just taking turns coming up, not making much impact and then going back down and just raking and then say, hey, maybe this time will be different. All right, 215.5.592, 94 to get in if you want to react to Sanchez's day and the sweep out in San Diego. But on the other side, we'll get to the wow moment of the game and also a look ahead to the weekend out in L.A.
Starting point is 00:20:15 All that's coming up next here on the final out on Sports Radio 94WIP. When the stakes rise and the lights get bright, that's when you find out who can really swim. Deep Waters is a new UFC podcast from CBS Sports. Every Monday, myself, Dean Thomas, alongside with legends of the sport, Chris Widman, Jorge Masvedal, and Dustin Porriere, bring you inside the Octagon like no one else can. Deep Waters, new episodes every Monday, watch on YouTube or listen on Apple, Spotify, and everywhere else you get podcasts. And a swing and a high drive, right center field.
Starting point is 00:20:53 Crawford back into his left, onto the track nearing the wall, makes the catch on the run and crashes into the fence. He's down on the track, but he's hung on to the baseball. Justin Crawford with a sensational catch deep in the alleyway and right center. Yes, that is our wow moment of the game, brought to you by the New Jersey Division of Travel and Tourism, from Waterfalls to Fairways, Mountain Resorts to Lighthouse Tours. Find your wow and visit nj.com. A great catch by Justin Crawford there.
Starting point is 00:21:32 I don't know if it was the most clean route to the baseball, but he got there. He actually reminded me a little bit of, he does remind me a little bit of how Revere kind of went after fly balls because he's so fast, but he doesn't always get the right, it doesn't always take the right route to it. And sometimes it makes him have to make a crazy athletic play to kind of make the catch.
Starting point is 00:21:54 obviously it's been a work in progress for him out there, especially on the road. You know, he's playing in these ballparks for the first time. And, you know, some of these places are way, way bigger than CBP. So good to see him make a play like that as he is adjusting to the big league level. And it was going to see him get a hit. I mean, he was mired in a 4-4-48 slump. And he kind of started that rally, which was good to see. They obviously need Justin Crawford.
Starting point is 00:22:18 I have no interest in. I really have no interest in ever turning into like, hey, should we put Johann Ron Rojas back out there once he's up the PED suspension because at least the defense is good, even though we know the bat's not good enough. I want this to be Crawford's gig, and I want him to run with it. I want him to be a long-term fix for the center field problem that's played this team for years. I have my questions about it, but I want him to do it, so I need to get him off the Schneide and get going here a little bit.
Starting point is 00:22:46 It is the final out. Jack Fritz hanging out with you on this Wednesday night. The final out is sponsored by the Philadelphia Parking Authority. We'll get to the matchups of the weekend, but that's after. We talked to Luke all the way up in New Hampshire. What's happening, Luke? Hey, Jack, man, never a doubt, huh? Never a friggin doubt, huh?
Starting point is 00:23:05 We didn't think just one out in San Diego would be good, and we didn't think that Tatis was going to get his first home run off Nola. Never crossed my mind. Not for a second, pal. We didn't think we'd heat up Jackson Merrill, too. We would never. We would never think that. No, no.
Starting point is 00:23:22 That was never in our. in our minds in Philadelphia sports fan. I was thinking about two things with the... It's baseball. It's so baseball. You know, the Guardian series, they can't score, they go out to San Diego. I mean, they have dominated that team since
Starting point is 00:23:37 that's what's in video. It's been really a tough scene for the Padres v. Phil. Yeah, that's so good. I mean, I don't mind it at one minute. It's good news for us. So I was thinking about, you know, with Topper, he had a lot of
Starting point is 00:23:51 good times as a Phillies man. manager. And then I wonder when things got bad, if he kind of reverted back to what he always saw with Gerardi and our players really weren't, you know, responded to that super well. And then you got Mattingly, who gives the two-day rest of bum, turns it around, moves Trey in the lineup, because he's just trying different stuff. And Trey responds, you know, immediately. Like, if you think that there's anything there that maybe Tapper wasn't as much of a change from Gerardi as we maybe thought. Well, definitely at the beginning, I think, he's, you know, But Gerardy, I think, was a bit of a hard ass, and I don't think that was ever Thompson.
Starting point is 00:24:27 And I'm not sure Thompson, like, all of a sudden, start turning it on. I just think that I think they just needed a new voice in someone that, I think it would have been hard for Thompson to turn into Mr. Accountability, or we're going to start doing all this stuff, like extra PFP work, Bunt stations. Like, I think that had to come in from a different voice. I don't know if he turned into Gerardi. I think he kind of always stayed himself and maybe that kind of rants course with this team. Yeah, it could be. I had another question for you, too, with your deep knowledge of our minor league system.
Starting point is 00:25:00 I know we got Gage Wood that we're excited about, but seeing everything that Sanchez is doing, do you have a picture like on the fringes that you think maybe if Kossom got his hands on him, you know, up here in maybe the next few years we could see something special like Sanchez sort of out of nowhere? Yeah, I appreciate the phone call, Luke. Yeah, I mean, the one that comes to mind is Ramon Mark. who is this 20-year-old kid who is who is pitching for Clearwater. Like the closest, he's a righty. The closest thing to Sanchez might be like Mavis Graves,
Starting point is 00:25:31 but he doesn't have 97 like Chris Sanchez had. I mean, Mavis Graves is a, he's pitching for Jersey Shore right now, and he kind of reminds me more of like a JA Hap type. But Ramon Ramon Marquez is this 20-year-old kid who's pitching for Clearwater, like I said. And if you remember, if you know, like Devin Williams' Air Bender changeup, he has that, which is really fun. And he couples it with like a 95. He's jumped his velocity from like 93 to 95 to 95 to 97 this year.
Starting point is 00:25:59 And he's mixing in a cutter a little bit. So, you know, there's days where I would say he's almost as untouchable as as Gage Wood is in trades. Of course, there's like a real difference maker. Everything's on the table. But I would shy away from putting Ramon Marquez in any trades at the trade deadline. So I think he's a really, really, really interesting arm that you could argue. has a higher ceiling than Gagewood. And Gagewood, I think, has a unicorn fastball.
Starting point is 00:26:28 But Ramon Marquez, I think, is a really exciting development for this Philly's, you know, pitching farm system. Now, out in, out in L.A., which is, you know, how they end this road trip before returning home and facing the Padres and White Sox. Fun little, I mean, June is going to be a tough little stretch. So versus Padres. this series wasn't the most inspiring for the Padres, but they were 31 and 20 heading into it.
Starting point is 00:26:59 And then they faced the White Sox that following weekend. And the White Sox are, you know, they're kind of like the Nats of the AL, where everyone expects them to and it's not be very good. And, you know, they're at 500 or above 500. And Moracami is, you know, taking the league by Storm. And him and Schwabre will be a fun little storyline
Starting point is 00:27:20 heading into that series. And they go up to Toronto, a place where I don't, I feel like they just never play very well, but they go out to Toronto, the place where obviously Hazis Lazzardo was tipping last year famously, at Brewers, versus Marlins, versus Mets, at Nationals, at Mets versus Pirates. So, you know, the NL is pretty dang tough this year. There's not a lot of like dreadful baseball teams. Like even the bad teams still have some players that, that scare you a little bit.
Starting point is 00:27:50 The Mets obviously they're having a horrible season. They still have some talent. But the Nationals are 500. The Nationals, Buzz, did you have any idea the Nationals lead major league baseball and runs scored? I knew they were up there. I didn't know they were the physical leader because they've been playing way over their heads in terms of, like, in the standing. The Phillies just passed them today, I think. Besides, like C.J. Abrams and James Wood, can you name another Nationals starter of the state?
Starting point is 00:28:20 starting nine. I mean, I know you can, but like, it's crazy. Not household names. No. Now, Curtis Meade is on the nationals and he's kind of heating up a little bit. So, you know, we'll see who really won that deal between the Phillies and Rays. So yeah, and then at-mats and then verse pirates, who the pirates are all of a sudden red hot. So June doesn't get much easier. And the Phillies pretty much right at the ship in May, which was, which was good to see. And certainly much needed. But out in L.A. as they close out May, obviously dying for two or three. but really just take one of three against that team. 10-15 starts, so definitely have the coffee ready.
Starting point is 00:28:56 Actually, I did green tea before the game last night. You know, maybe a little bit less, you know, like a little bit not as caffeinated as coffee. Do the job because it will stay up until about 1230. And then boys will show up at 6. Much appreciated, much appreciated. Much appreciated. Pitch clock really helps with these West Coast games.
Starting point is 00:29:14 It does. For washed fathers of soon to be three. I mean, beyond washed, beyond wash. but we still came back and wanted debate today, Buzz. Did you think I wanted the debate earlier today or no? I was impressed with your skills. I will say that. I was expecting...
Starting point is 00:29:27 It seems like a lot of people came away today being like, I didn't know you could do that. Well, in fairness. That's not all us doubting you. You yesterday, I believe, said, like, I don't really do the debate thing. I'm not that passionate about debating anyone. You're a very non-confrontational person.
Starting point is 00:29:42 Ria is. So you can't fault people for doubting you. Yeah, but it feels like I'm being treated in a way of like, oh, good job, little Timmy. You had a little cute performance today. Yay, yeah, yeah. The charity case over here. Exactly right.
Starting point is 00:29:55 You didn't throw up all over yourself. Like, he did in basketball. Like, you just came in and argued about Dave Grosky. That's the other thing, is your track record when it comes to staged events on the station also not great. Well, I got a history of letting people down. And that's what I do on most days. So don't be surprised when people are pleasantly surprised with your performance. Yeah, I'm just saying.
Starting point is 00:30:16 Just saying. I'm not bad at this whole thing. Anyway. By the way, the Nationals have two guys, Wood and Abrams, who are above a 750 OPS, and they still have all those runs. Yeah, that's crazy. Yeah, they just put the ball in play. They put the ball in play.
Starting point is 00:30:30 So, this weekend out in L.A., Wheeler-Lazardo Painter, that's fun. It'll obviously be a huge test for Andrew Painter as he's had three great starts in a row, but this is obviously presenting a whole different task facing the Dodgers out in L.A., so very, very curiously how he looks. but Wheel of Lozardo should give you a pretty good shot in the first two of the starters have not been announced for the Dodgers just yet. But exciting times, we witness history tonight, something that, again, we don't see this very often in Philly's history and baseball history, and we are on one of those special runs
Starting point is 00:31:01 with Chris Sanchez and the rest of this Phillies pitching staff. So enjoy it, soak it all in, and just remember that we are witnessing history, and that's always fun. That's what makes baseball different. As it makes baseball different, it's streaks like this that can happen on a nowhere. And that's why it's the best sport on the world. So thank you to everyone that hung out tonight. Buzz, Dan Wilson produced the final out. Coming up next is TK. He will take you through the rest of the night here on Sports Radio 94. WIP!
