Three and one, here's the pitch. Swung on, lined to left center field. Hayes on the run.
He will make the sliding catch and that'll end the ball game. And it'll end the home
slate with the Phillies 54th win a first round by in the postseason

Aradis Chadman on the save for the Pirates ball hit the left field Willie Adamas for some reason
Maybe because he wanted to help the Phil's out
Maybe he wanted to extend his like what oh for 21 streak against the Phillies so far this year
He got thrown out trying to extend a single into a dolly star by
Ten feet. What are we doing? Where we going Willie either way?
Phil's win Phil's win Brewers lose which means we've clinched a bye and
October 5th
Saturday at CBP
We will have the first playoff game
I think it's probably the four o'clock slate because the Dodgers well the Dodgers and Phillies will both be there
I assume the Dodgers will have on the later game. So I think four o'clock. I like a o'clock star to play off game. I just do we've had good luck with that over the last couple years
We had the Hoskins batslam. We had the Brandon Marsh home run off off of the Braves
Don't hate a four o'clock start

215592, 9494 to get in as we react and really celebrate.
But we know they won the division and that was great.
I don't think we're gonna have a similar
kind of celebration tonight.
I'm sure they'll have a pop a couple of cold ones
are off tomorrow.
They might get rained out Friday.
So I don't think they'll end up at Xfinity,
but I would expect the boys to crack some tonight
and put on the 50 minute playlist and celebrate.
That's what this team does.
That's what they do.
They just celebrated at all times.
So good stuff. one five five nine two
94 94 to get in if you are on your way home from the game tonight fan appreciation night
The rain held off a little bit cooler
Felt like October it felt like October. Let's get to the biggest takeaways of the game
brought to you by Morgan and Morgan America's largest injury law firm, so the
Dodgers haven't started yet
but they're playing the Padres tonight Padres one last night on an on a triple play to close that up all game and clinch a
Playoff spot for them the Dodgers thought to wrap up the NL West
this thing is getting tight there are two games up in the NL West and
Like I think if you said if you asked people a week or
a week ago two weeks ago everyone's just saying more of a fate of complete that the NL West
is over.
It's not.
The Dodgers could be playing in the wild card round so they got some work to do.
Either way one seed is in play.
The Phillies if the Dodgers lose tonight I believe will be ahead of them and then if they win tonight there's still a game behind regardless so
they're in a good spot and the more more you look at it and the Diamondbacks
falling to the sixth seed I just I want to avoid the Diamondbacks as much as I
can I know they're not playing the best baseball but I feel like there's
something about when the Diamondbacks the Phillies that they just turn into a
really damn good baseball team and there's some Diamondbacks and the Phillies that they just turn into a really damn good baseball team
And there's some real estate in the Phillies head there. The one seed though and tonight another example that
54 and 26 at home this year
54 and 26 the best of any of the teams at Citizens Bank Park second best in franchise history only to the
1977
Phillies but 54 and 26 at home at CBP is the best
affiliate team has ever had so we know how different they are at home I think that records even I think
they even have a higher win percentage for night games and it says in the bank park I think they're
winning that like a 700 clip or something crazy and that was it that was like two weeks ago so
they are a dominant
dominant home home team so obviously getting the one seed getting home field
all throughout the Yankees are gonna lose tonight so they're gonna get even
more on the best record in the AL so if they do get to the World Series they're
in a good spot from that standpoint they got the Nationals this weekend so they
can extend that even more we're looking at what should be a 95 plus win ball
club which is which is a really impressive feat and shows the one of the best teams in the in the sport this year
It also shows how ridiculous they were the first two two and a half months of the season like in the moment
It was something to behold but now you're sitting here at the end and how they've played
Up until the last what three weeks four weeks
They played average baseball and then they turned it on here
the last couple of weeks.
But to end with 95 wins after playing pretty much
500 baseball for two months really shows how insane
their beginning of the season was.
But this next, what, 10 days is gonna be excruciating.
I need it to be October 5th. This next what 10 days is gonna be excruciating
I I need it to be October 5th. You talk about an all-time kind of a little stretch here and Philly sports You got the Eagles bucks this Sunday
Reacted that all week leading into whoever the Phils end up playing we get to sit back kick back and enjoy some wildcard rounds
It doesn't really affect us love that. So can't wait it's gonna be amazing I can't
wait to feel citizens bank park again and get back in there and feel that
energy you know it comes to the TV as well so if you can't get down to the
ballpark because the ticket prices are pretty insane oh it's gonna be a party
it's gonna be party it better be a long. I don't need to just be God forbid. I don't need to just be two own games. We get we got to extend this thing second
biggest thing that I want to touch on here is
Really besides the the minor blips
Against Milwaukee and the Mets. They weren't great the series against the the Brewers and the Mets. They weren't great now at the same time
Those teams needed it more than the Phillies did.
Brewers needed it more, Mets needed it more, and they were just more desperate.
What's impressed me about the Phillies and what has given me, I guess, the biggest hope
heading into the postseason is they've just shown a good ability to take care of business. I know they went
through the tough stretch, I know that you could say well they should have
turned it on faster, okay, but even if they turned it on faster, maybe that
doesn't make the the last week and a half here as interesting as it's been.
Maybe they didn't need to go on cruise control the last two weeks of the
season heading into the
Postseason so we'll obviously get a better answer to that when the season is officially over besides that
They've essentially flipped the switch and turn mostly into the team
We saw at the beginning half of the year starting staff not as good obviously because of what Rangers doing and then Spencer
Turnbull is not here yet Although I guess he could come up in the next couple of days and see if he has anything left for a possible postseason roster spot
The lineup I think the lineup has been pretty up and down all year even when they're pitching unbelievable the lineup wasn't like set in
The world on fire bullpen has been really good all throughout the season besides like a weird stretch from Strauman Hoffman
That lasted for like two weeks.
They've been pretty dominant.
So I think that's my biggest hope is that this is a veteran type team that can get into
the postseason, they feel the energy at CBP and the switch can be flipped.
I think that's the biggest thing that's given me hope is that, you know, even coming off
the series against the Mets
They show up Monday night ready to win ready to win a ballgame. Never a doubt. Here's the division last night
Who cares? It's Taiwan, whatever
tonight
before having going on a road trip to to Washington where games might be rained out show up bang take care of business and
And exit here and you know lay the hands of the broers.
I mean, it was just impressive in a couple games of series. Again, the Cubs are not great,
but they're also not a pushover. They're not one of the worst teams in the sport. They're a couple
games over 500. I thought it was impressive they just showed up and took care of business and they
were done. And then the final thing here, and it is the pitch count, which is sponsored by the

94 pitches for Chris Sanchez tonight.
I didn't think he was bad.
I didn't think he was great.
I think they fouled off a ton of pitches against him.
I thought he had some bad umpiring
in the inning in the lead to home run Niko Horner.
Stop makes the play there.
It's a totally different inning,
totally different ballgame
I'm a credit to the Cubs for falling off a ton of pitches But there's also some things that were out of Chris Sanchez's control there
Jumped his home era to 2.2 and and it's gonna be the one of the bigger discussion points
Over the next couple weeks is or week and a half is who should start game 2. I still am on the mindset of Chris Sanchez
There's been this talk of worrying about game five. It's not really a thing. It's gonna be Wheeler in
game five if it gets to that point because you're gonna have to pitch one
through four given the schedule. You've won less day I guess as a national
league team this year in the NLDS. So it's just not really a super big concern
and I don't think it matters no long the road no the home
I think it's about the same and if a guy's making a first big kind of playoff start
I'd rather it be at home. I know Chris Sanchez started last year
But that wasn't before he kind of it arrived and had real expectations on his shoulder
there's expectations that Chris Sanchez is this team's second best starter and
there's expectations that Chris Sanchez is this team's second best starter and and I would just rather have it be at a home at a home ballpark at Citizens
Bank Park rather than in a tough road environment. I trust Knowles more in a
tough road environment than Chris Sanchez who again his ERA is three runs
higher on the road. 2.2 at home even after tonight, which is not a Super super great outing 215 592 94 94 to get in on the other side
We will get to the player the game and my second biggest fear heading into the postseason is continuing to be

4-0 Phillies. Oh please, please I'm begging you let us get hot Castee for a
month. Let this team get hot Castie for a month and see how far they
can go as OPS on the season up to a season high 738 which still feels low
it still feels low Cassie has been like their their most consistent offensive
player for two months I mean I know he was really down on the dumps the first
two months of the season, but he's
been been very good for a good stretch here.
The biggest thing he did when I was raised is numbers in the four hole.
In the five hole this year, he's batting like 304.
In the four hole, he's batting like 170 something.
So he did raise that number, but still 7, buzz, that still feels low, right?
Doesn't 738 feel like a low OPS for Castee?
I mean, it shows you how much he struggled, I guess, early in the season.
He was batting 180-something, I believe, at the end of May.
He's kind of had an inverse of how the teams play.
Like when the team was on fire, he struggled.
And then-
No one was mad at him.
Yeah.
And now, you know, the team has kind of leveled out and he's been on and gotten up to 738.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But he's had a great year.

My second biggest fear heading into the post season,
my biggest fear is always going to be is the offense going to go cold?
Are they gonna start swinging and missing? Are they gonna start chasing?
Are we gonna see the the game six and seven stuff creep back in and and is it gonna send them home early?
I think we feel good about the starting staff. I think we feel good about the bullpen. Now,
what's so funny about
everyone seemingly having the same take about the Phillies offense is
that this definitely, this is my cynical part of my brain talking.
This definitely means they're going to rake and the starting staff or the bullpen just
completely falls apart.
There's no doubt in my mind.
But if I was a betting man, I bet more on the offense struggling.
My biggest concern and I've said for about a month or
about a week or two here, the nice part about heading into this playoffs is they don't really
have a Kimbril. Estavis is not Kimbril but his ninth innings or his eighth innings in
the playoffs are gonna be excruciating. He's gonna be getting the ninth in a lot of instances.
I still believe that if the heart of the order is going to be up, it's going to be Jeff Hoffman,
but he's going to be pitching big innings. He allows a lot of fly balls, a lot of hard
contact. I am preemptively nervous about Carlos Estevez ninths. Even tonight, up by a good
amount, I was like, oh, come on, let's just end it.
The celebration's great.
I love celebration, all in,
but he allows a good amount of hard contact.
On the other side, we will look ahead to tomorrow,

He'll score without a throw as Brandon Marsh cleans them off.
It's a three run double and the Phillies break open an eight to four lead.

Apologize for for no phone calls tonight. We got to get to I'm listening which is which is coming up next
So but yeah, so I'm listening is coming which is coming up next so but yes
So I'm listening is coming up in about a minute on Friday if they do play Ranger Suarez
Will be on the mound for the Phil's and it's a big star for Ranger Ranger. I
Haven't given up on just because I think he's been so good into in the postseason last couple years while his up timbers weren't great
But he's gonna start game four. He's gonna take down some games for this team
He's not like just gonna be a bullpen guy. So even if he doesn't start game four, they want to push Wheeler
I don't think they will they haven't done that in years past
But he's gonna have to start at some point. I think in games one and two
He's probably used out of the bullpen him first Alvarado, you know is kind of intriguing for the the second reliever
I don't think Tanner Banks is really an option. Feels like Ken Ranger do the job.
Where are we at with Alvarado?
That's something to definitely look for
down in Washington this weekend.
But Ranger tentatively starting on Friday.
But that's gonna do it for me.
Buzz produced the final out tonight.
Again, I'm listening.
