All-star closer, Kenley Jansen, we have a question.
What's the best podcast of all time?
Baseball isn't boring, baby.
I'm Rob Bradford, and every single day I'm sitting down with the biggest names
to show you this great game is the greatest game.
It's my podcast. It's my passion.
It's a cause I started more than two years ago.
It is now the most prolific national daily baseball pod there is.
Another fact.
So jump aboard the B.I.B. Express.

Swung on, hit in the air, right field.
Fairly deep.
Castellanos back at the track in
front of the wall. He's got it. Ball game's over as Jeff Hoffman gets the save and the Phillies
take the series from the Dodgers. After a rout last night, a nail biter tonight and the Phillies
hang on for a 4-3 win. And with that, you have the first team in baseball to 60.
Yes, 60 wins.
First team in baseball.
What a season we are witnessing here.
Welcome on in.
It is the final out.
Sponsored by Regency Furniture.
Affordable never looks so good.
Jack Fritz hanging out with you on this Wednesday night.
As we react to what was definitely, as Scott described there,
more of a nail-biter, but a really fun, big-game feel down at Citizens Bank Park,
officially, officially.
And take this for all the Phillies doubters out there, and there are some doubters.
I think most people, most happy people, are enjoying this season.
But I know that there's a portion of the fan base that's like,
hey, they can't beat any good teams.
Well, this quarter, Jeff Kerr, 22-13 against teams that are 500 or better,
which is the best, the best in baseball.
So, once again, Phillies are at the top of the leaderboards in a lot of things.
And yes, against teams that are 500 or better.
They're not just beating up on bad teams.
They are 22-13.
Ah, man.
What a team.
215-592-9494.
The game wrap-up sponsored by Blathers, Swiss Lube, and Kravitz.
The metalworking fluid specialists providing professional CNC machine
cleaning, coolant maintenance programs, and waste coolant disposal. Kravitz.online. Again,
215-592-9494 to get in. If you're leaving the ballpark, I'm sure it was hot again. I don't
think it was as bad as last night, but if you're stuck in traffic, we'd love to hear from you. Or
if you're like me, just watch on your couch and we're pretty nervous. The majority of the game would love to hear from
you as well. My biggest takeaways of the game brought to you by Morgan & Morgan, America's
largest injury law firm. And I mentioned it to kind of open up there. It felt like a playoff
game. And I think Rob Thompson managed it like a playoff game I mean
he was 100% aggressive in trying to go to win that game and it really I think gave us a glimpse
as to what this could look like in the postseason now he pulled Sanchez 91 pitches you could argue
that's a little bit early I mean I know in baseball, that's leaving in a guy for an eternity. For the modern fills, that's like, I don't know, the middle innings in a way.
But he pulled him. I could already feel the, well, he pulled him an inning too early, but whatever.
He had Kirkering out there. Kirkering, I thought was mostly fine. I'm just letting everyone know,
I do have some mush powers. When I said pregame that Chris Taylor stinks, which he fine. I'm just letting everyone know I do have some mush powers.
When I said pregame that Chris Taylor stinks, which he does.
I mean, he's batting 150 adding into the game.
And Austin Barnes stinks, which he does.
You just had to know that they were going to go off tonight.
So, Kirkering didn't, I guess, have it tonight.
I'm not worried at all.
I think he's fine.
And he pulled him.
He pulled a Ryan Kirkering for Matt Strom to put on Shohei Otani.
And Matt Strom did a job.
Now, they mentioned postgame about, you know, like, three or five pitches.
Like, did you want to put him back out there maybe for another inning?
But like Rob Thompson said, like, you got to get these guys some work.
You know, both Alvarado and Hoffman have been down for four days.
I thought it was an aggressive job
by Rob Thompson, and I like that
he went for the kill. I like that he didn't
just let the guys work
through stuff. I think that there's this
portion of the fan base
that is worried,
he's going to leave guys in too long in the postseason.
He's not going to know when to get guys out.
I think tonight should go
a long way
towards easing some of your fears like it just i know this is going to sound harsh but it just
doesn't matter if they blow a game in in june or may because he wants to see if a chris sanchez
he wants to see if an orion kirk ring he wants to see if some of Sanchez, he wants to see if an Orion Kirkering, he wants to see if some of
these guys can manage their way through things so they have more data points so that you have a
better feel for when to get guys out of the game. It's why when I hear the Rob Thompson complaints
about doesn't know when to get a guy out, leaves guys in too long, pulls a guy too early, whatever.
out, leaves guys in too long, pulls a guy too early, whatever.
Like, I don't think he's just making things up on the fly. I think it's a lot of, there's a lot of basis behind his decision making.
And I think what you saw tonight was let's go for the kill against one of the better
teams in the national league that you're going to be hunting down the one seed theoretically
against.
And I think he managed to not like a playoff game.
And I think if you were of the mindset of having a Rob Thompson fear, I guess,
tonight should have calmed you down.
I mean, it was a tough night for the Phil's doubters.
Again, they beat a team over 500.
Schwarber let off the game with a home run because it's what he does.
And Rob Thompson put together a master class.
And another win with Garrett Stubbs behind the plate, 18-10.
It is what it is.
That's my biggest takeaway of the game.
The second biggest takeaway of the game is our pitch count,
which is sponsored by the Plumbers Union Local 690,
protecting the health of the nation.
Visit Plumbers690.org.
91 pitches tonight for Chris Sanchez, like I mentioned.
dot org. 91 pitches tonight for Chris Sanchez, like I mentioned. And he only really got in trouble when he was, you know, the ball was a little bit up in the zone. Like when he was down,
when he's down the zone, fastball down, changeup was down. He was able to locate a slider. He was
fine. Like Chris Sanchez wasn't brilliant tonight, but he's really good. And it raised his home ERA
to 1.5. So it was definitely a step back in the right direction.
I think getting him a nice little rest here is going to be really big.
He's pitched a ton in this first half, definitely the most of his career.
And I thought tonight was mostly positive.
Like, show him the time he got him.
It's going to happen.
He walked a hitter.
It's going to happen.
You know, I thought Chris Sanchez did his job tonight,
and he's been doing his job the majority of the season.
So, yes, his home ERA now is 1.5 after being 1.35 heading into the game.
And my final big takeaway here before we go to the phones,
and there's a lot to react to, so I'd love to hear from you.
I think we found our closer.
Like, I just – Jeff Hoffman has stones.
Jeff Hoffman can do this job.
I hear the people that are clamoring for a closer,
and if you want to go get a closer, knock yourself out.
It's fine.
I wouldn't hate it.
It's still not my number one priority,
but I'd be hard-pressed to find someone as good as Jeff Hoffman
because that guy is nails.
And it's very rare you see closers or even bullpen pitchers
that have 98 in their back pocket,
they have a splitter that Jeff Hoffman has,
and they have a slider that Jeff Hoffman has.
It's a really, really tough combination, and he's confident.
And that's what I love the most about him.
He is super confident in that back what i love the most about him he is super confident
in that back end of the bullpen role and you see it growing night after night and i think what we're
witnessing right now is a guy taking a job and running with it like i think that's what we're
seeing we're seeing jeff often see an opportunity right in front of him, and is jumping all over it. He looks awesome.
And I feel like I tweet this once a day, and I'm going to have to tweet it until the job is
finished. They have to find a way to extend Jeff Hoffman. He is simply too important. He's a free agent after the year. He is pitching to an ERA under 1.5.
I mean,
Jeff Hoffman is an
all-star. He is
very well as team's closer.
He's gotten the last four closing
opportunities. He's taking
the job, and he's running
with it. Tonight against the Dodgers, just
good morning, good afternoon,
good night.
I think we found our closer tonight.
And not tonight. I think we found our closer
in the last couple weeks.
And they have to find a way
to get an extension done. He's going to get
paid. We get that. We'll see what the
contract looks like. That's someone that
they have to get done. He is integral
to this team's bullpen.
Dave, my leadoff hitter, is in Maryland.
What's happening, Dave?
Hey, what's up, Jack?
Huge win.
Just a great effort.
I mean, Strom coming out of the pen,
and it was great to see him get back on track after a few rough outings.
And what I loved is he didn't change his approach.
He just went after Shohei Otani and went after Teoscar Hernandez
and said, my best, first year best, and I'm going to win.
Yeah, well, it's interesting.
I love that Strom did that.
I love that Wheeler did that last night to open the game.
They're going right after him.
And I just love the no-fear mentality that this starting staff has.
Absolutely.
And Strom, that plays in the postseason
because when hitters get two strikes in the postseason,
you know, there's a lot of punch-outs,
and him getting ahead and going after people is huge.
Chris Sanchez, great effort tonight, just gutsy in the heat
and, you know, going after, you know, holding the Dodgers
to two runs in six innings is a great effort.
I thought the game really, one of the pivot points of the
game was when uh kirkering gave up the uh leadoff double and then james outman what was he doing
embarrassing i mean he's bad 160 on the year big time yeah yeah it was it was really bad
it was a really bad you saw dave he walked by d walked by Dave Robertson. I don't think it was called for, the bunt,
because Robert was just shaking his head at him as he went by
because I didn't understand the logic of that with a runner on second,
nobody out.
But good for us and great win.
And heading up for Maryland tomorrow to watch hopefully a sweep
because this is – it's not game three of the series.
It's game six. There's six games in the series
and we've got to win four to make sure
the tiebreaker comes into play if we need it.
That's good stuff, Dave. I appreciate
the phone call. Safe travels
up here tomorrow.
James Allman, what are you
doing?
Some bad baseball played
tonight, for sure.
2-1-5-5-9-2-94-94. It is What are you doing? I just, you know, some bad baseball played tonight for sure.
2-1-5-5-9-2, 94-94.
It is the final out.
Jack Fritz signing out with you again on this Wednesday night.
On the other side, we'll get to your phone calls,
plus the player of the game and someone who I think is continuing to come out of a slump they're in
and definitely someone that is going through it.
We'll get to all of that coming up next on the final out on sports radio,
94 WIP.

Three and one to count.
Here's the pitch.
Swing and a ground ball up the middle to his left, Rojas.
Oh, he had to go off his glove.
In to score is Merrifield, and Turner is going to reach,
and the Phillies are going to reclaim the lead.
It's 3-2.
That is my Player of the Game, sponsored by South Jersey Gas,
committed to providing safe, reliable, affordable natural gas.
Make the switch at southjerseygas.com slash lovemyhome.
Big two out hit by Trey there.
Listen, I know that the way Scott described it there,
that Rojas had to go off his glove.
I think that would have been a bang-bang play.
Frankly, I thought Trey would have been safe regardless.
And still, you know, that was a tight situation this game.
I mean, it was runner on third, Whit Merrifield,
let off the inning with a triple buzz, right?
That was a triple.
In the scorebook, if you're keeping the
scorebook buzz, that was a triple, right?
There was no error. Therefore, it is a triple.
Yes. That's right.
So Whit Merrifield let off the inning with a triple.
Garrett Stubbs got out.
Kyle Schwarber. Listen,
I thought
Chris Taylor should have scored on the Schwarber play.
I thought that Whitmerryfield should have scored on the Chris Taylor play.
I thought that would have been a tough play.
Whatever.
I guess he played safe.
And Trey's able to come through there.
That extends the inning.
Stott gets a hit later, makes it 4-2.
I just, when Schwarber and Harper were both out, like this team kind of cratered
with runners in scoring position and two out hits. And the last two nights they've gotten back to the
two out magic. I mean, they're number one in baseball, I believe with two outs with runners
in scoring position. And, you know, it's nice. I know Harper wasn't allowed tonight. Hopefully
he's back tomorrow. We'll see. Maybe you sit him now because you already won the series. I know Harper wasn't in the lineup tonight. Hopefully he's back tomorrow. We'll see.
Maybe you sit him now because you
already won the series. I don't know.
Bryce probably wants to get out there in a
marketing series, but regardless,
they've done a better job this
series with the big boys back in the lineup
of getting those two out hits. They're just so
massive because they're just
so back-breaking.
There's nothing more
back breaking i think in baseball than than a two-out rbi it's just like damn so the team's
been doing it all year and it's good to see the last couple nights them getting back to it i guess
i'll get some thoughts here on on two players and their and their games tonight in one second but
let's check in with uh black grady's happening, DJ? No, no.
Tonight was a good game.
You know, a tight game.
Like you said, you were on the couch.
I was walking back and forth in the kitchen.
You know what I mean?
I'm standing up the whole time, and I'm like sitting down.
Because it's the Dodgers, and you have to hear so much about the Dodgers.
And for Topper to play the call game the way he did,
that's what I want to see.
I want to see you making moves.
I want to see you testing these guys under pressure situation.
Because this is pressure just because of the names you're going up against.
And they don't have their full lineup, but it's still Shohei.
You know what I mean?
You still going out there and attacking.
You know what you got to do?
It feels good.
It feels really good.
I'm happy for a July game.
You know what I'm saying?
Yeah.
Yeah.
It didn't feel like a July game, though.
I mean, this team is definitely taking this series seriously.
I feel like they're walking into this like, no, we're going to set a tone here,
and we're going to go out in here and let everyone know that we're the best team in baseball.
And it felt like the Dodgers weren't focused.
Like, all these errors, non-errors, they don't want to give anybody errors anymore in baseball.
So, you know, I don't even know what you call them, but the mistakes are having a hard time going our way.
I love to see it.
And Hoffman, Hoffman, don't get a close over here because we can't pay everybody.
We got Hoffman to worry about right now.
Don't get me another bat at a center field or something like that.
But Hoffman, dude, when it's 100 degrees and this dude looks like he's 75 and there's a breeze outside,
he's so confident.
He's staying so soft.
It makes me feel – it makes me believe.
It makes me feel so good.
He's the man.
He is the man.
He is the man.
I love him.
I tweeted after the game.
I think I trust him with my life.
Well, you know, maybe you get a Hoffman jersey.
How about that?
How about we get a Hoffman jersey?
If we extend it, we're going to extend it.
So, let's get that jersey. I'll talk to you, brother're going to extend it. So, go ahead and get that jersey.
Yeah.
I'll talk to you, brother.
All right, brother.
Appreciate the phone call.
They have to.
I mean, Strauman and Hoffman have just been so nailed.
So, they're both deserving of the All-Star game.
And, you know, that does lead me to another conversation about Jose Alvarado.
Because I think Jose Alvarado is a really good pitcher.
His stuff just looks like it's flattening out a little bit.
Kind of feels like we're turning towards a Phantom IL.
I don't think hope is lost.
I mean, again, we were kind of at this point with Sir Anthony
where at the beginning of the year where it was like,
he's so bad, you know, the guy sent him to AAA,
they got to do this, that, and whatever.
And they worked with him, and Sir Anthony's really been good
for a month and a half, two months now.
I think Alvarado needs something similar.
Now, he's not throwing the 101 anymore it's more 96 97 but it just looks
flatter it looks like his some of his stuff is flattened out so i think the break is coming at
a really good time for him i would like to not pitch him before the all-star break i think sunday
given well we'll see what happens because tyler phillips is going
saturday i know there's been some talk about a possible bull bullpen game sunday because it will
if wheeler doesn't go like taiwan's not ready to go like i i assume they just start mercato and see
how it goes i don't know he'll probably pitch before the all-star break i just think that
alvarado could use a nice little breather here.
I think there's still a really good pitcher there.
I don't know if I trust him in high leverage spots right now.
I think Hoffman has assumed that role.
I think Strom is definitely there.
I mean, he's still a high wire act, but Soto's pitch better than Alvarado.
I just think he needs a breather.
I think he's got to add some,
find a way to get some zip back on his pitches.
Because again, for the first time,
and maybe it was like this
before they sent him down to AAA a couple years ago,
everything just looks a little bit flatter.
So it's definitely something to monitor.
It's definitely something that has to be on our radar now
because it's been a couple appearances. It's definitely something that has to be on our radar now because it's been a couple appearances.
I mean, really going back to London and a little bit before that
where it's like, eh, something just feels off.
I mean, again, he's had a home run issue.
He had the Stallings home run against the Rockies, which was great.
I know Stallings had a good year.
That guy just can't hit.
I don't care what his stats are.
But the Alvarado thing is definitely something to monitor here.
And we'll kind of see what they do here
because I do think a little
time off would
go a long way for him and make sure
that he is good for the postseason.
Because again, he's
pitched super deep
into 2022. He pitched super deep
last year. He's taken down a ton
of innings for this ball club.
And a nice little bit of rest here, I think, could go a long way for him. And the other guy I want
to shout out tonight, because I think he had a good game, and I think you're starting to see this
guy pull out of it, is Bryson Stott. Average up to.244. I know we don't need to throw a parade
for him, but I thought he had some classic Stott at style of bats tonight. Even the ball that he beat out, that was another long at bat. The one thing that
happened after that, obviously, was the first and third play. They had been really good early in the
season on the first and third play. I think that was a play they put on and like, just,
you know,
put this little PSA out there.
Like if you're going to run that play,
you can't have Alec bone on third base.
Like he's the easily the slowest guy on the team.
He just can't move.
He can't move.
So like,
if you're going to do the first and third thing,
I would like someone a little faster on third base.
You know,
they've been doing it a lot with first and third and two outs.
And traditionally teams have been thrown or haven't even been attempting a
throw to second base and just letting the runner take second base rather than
giving up the run.
So,
you know,
it's been one of the bigger trends in baseball this year.
Seemed like in that situation,
they tried to bait the throw to first base.
If you're going to do that,
just don't do
it with Boehm on third base. We need someone over there that has a little bit of wheels. But again,
I think Stott is slowly pulling his way out of this. And he's two for four tonight, which is
good to see. And he had the home run last night, hit a ball to the wall last night. And they got
to get him going. Because again, he's betting fourth tonight. That won't happen when Bryce is
back. But still, he's an important piece of this lineup., again, he's betting fourth tonight. That won't happen when Bryce is back, but still.
He's an important piece of this lineup, and I think he's someone they're relying on,
and they've got to get him going here.
So I think the last couple games you're starting to see better at-bats from Bryce and Stott.
Mike is in Port Norris. What's happening, Mike?
Hey, what's up?
I was at the game there tonight.
Awesome.
And the atmosphere there for a July game is just insane.
It's how loud the stadium got during that Strom versus Otani at bat.
That was insane.
I said to my friend sitting there, I said, wait until this is October.
How loud it's going to be then when it's Strom and Otani again.
I know.
It's crazy.
It's so nice.
Me and that same friend were going to games back years ago when it's Mike Alfranco playing
third and Cesar Hernandez at second and the stadium's empty, and now we're here. It's just so nice to see it
again filled up
and rocking at a July
game. Yeah, I mean, the
Tonic-Babas special, I thought
it sounded really loud when Stott
hit the ball up the middle and beat it out, and they scored a run
there. It just continues
to amaze me. It's a special, special
baseball talent when the city's
behind this team and
they continue to show that man and i'm just it makes me happy that we're not going to lose
generation baseball fans like we might have done from 2012 to like 2021 yeah and another thing
that's crazy is somebody it's to see tyler phillips coming up now like i i played against
him in high school. Oh, really?
And now I'm cheering for him.
And it's just that's insane to me.
I'm at that age now.
I think I'm just a little bit younger than you,
but it's that age now.
There's guys I played against in high school that are in the pros,
and it's just like, man, where did I go wrong?
I know.
Well, listen, buddy.
I feel you. i feel you i
feel you 100 on that and like you know not to make this about me but like i think chas mccormick i
grew up with and you know played against my entire life and then he's making a back-breaking catch
in the philly in the world series against the phillies like that was a tough one
that's 100 a tough one but yeah i'm, yeah, the Tyler Phillips story is really cool.
I hope he does well.
You know, obviously, in his first outing, that's a relief appearance
because the team has never seen him.
He has the patented Phillies sweeper.
You know, maybe, like, I'm sure that the A's are going to be more prepared for him.
But, like, it's so hard not to root for the kid.
You know, he put up an Instagram post today.
And the final picture is him and his dad at the vet.
And I just – it honestly was a huge throwback to me.
Like, it's that classic suburban dad with the – you know, his arms are out.
And he just, he looks like a real Phils fan.
So I couldn't be pulling, you know, harder for him.
And I just, I hope he kind of takes this and runs with it.
You know, they move Mercado to the bullpen.
Taiwan's not totally ready yet.
He's got an opportunity here.
He flashed some stuff.
I liked his, like, cockiness in a way.
His confidence on the mound. My buddy
texted me and he's like,
kind of reminds me of Vanimal.
He does have some Vance Worley to him.
Again, I couldn't
be rooting harder for him. We'll see him
this Saturday against the A's.
We'll also see him against Brent Rooker, which will be interesting.
Everyone wants to trade for Brent Rooker.
Definitely one to monitor for sure.
On the other side, we'll get to the play of the game plus a look ahead to tomorrow.
All that is coming up next on the final out on Sports Radio 94 WIP.
Yeah, I thought that was huge.
And that is my play of the game, which is sponsored by Mike's Amazing,
the official mayo and mustard of the Phillies.
Again, at that point, that would have had a runner on second with one out.
Who knows how the rest of that inning kind of goes.
But in a one-run game at that point, being able to get the second out there,
clear the bases, worst-case scenario is the game is tied up.
I mean, that was a total momentum shift.
And Whitmerry felt like he looked like a second baseman out there,
running up to get the ball and throw the guy out.
And Stott, very, very heads-up play, making sure that he was off the bag,
keeping the glove on him, and letting him kind of carry his momentum off the base.
So I thought that was a huge play.
And, again, there's a lot of big plays tonight.
You want to go with Strom and Otani?
100%. I mean, Strom, again,
it was good to see him have, like, a bounce-back performance.
Like, again, with Strom, either back-to-back outings
or two out of three outings where it's like,
man, this doesn't look right.
And tonight was a big step back,
or step in the right direction.
Jeff Hoffman, like, two outings in the middle of nowhere
against, like, the Tigers and the game after that. He got hit around a little bit, and then it was back to being Jeff Hoffman, like two outings in the middle of nowhere against the Tigers and the game after that, he got hit around a little bit,
and then it was back to being Jeff Hoffman.
I mean, those two are just integral, integral to this team.
So Kirkring, not worried about.
I think he's fine.
Soto developing, and Sir Anthony continues to look really good.
This bullpen's in a good spot.
Do I want another piece?
Sure.
Again, like I mentioned in the opener or second segment,
bullpen feels a bit like a
luxury. I get you can never have
enough bullpen arms. That's fine.
If they want to go trade for a guy, there's
a lot of arms out there that would help. I still
am of the mindset of go get a big
bat. Luis Robert hit another home run today.
He's playing good baseball.
He's playing good baseball.
He continues to be the apple of my eye of the trade deadline.
Tomorrow, we'll see if Harper plays.
I think at this point, I know it's a marquee series.
Maybe you let him go tomorrow and sit him against the – I don't know.
He kind of feels like he plays when he wants.
Rob Thompson said the swelling went down postgame,
so I guess that's good to hear.
I don't need to rush Harper out there he
they've already won the series I think he
kind of came back with the mindset of
we got to win the series
we lost 2-3 against the Braves
this is another big series
it could have one seed implications all that good stuff
but we already won it so
it'll be interesting I hope Bryce is in there
because that means he's obviously recovered fine
from the hand injury.
But that'll be definitely one to monitor tomorrow.
Landon Knack versus Aaron Nola.
Knack has not gone deep in games this year.
He's gone more than five innings in a start this year.
And Arizona tagged him for four earned in four and a third last time out.
Aaron Nola, it'll be nice to see him hopefully get back on track.
5.52 ERA in his last five outings for Aaron Nola.
And it's interesting because it's not like I've watched every Dodgers game
like the last month.
But, man, like that lineup is pretty brutal without Mookie
and some of the other guys.
Like they feel like a bat, like a big kind of bat trade at the deadline
because they can certainly use it.
I mean, they are a bit depleted in the lineup and in their rotation,
which speaks to how well-run they really are.
Nick's in Cherry Hill.
What's happening, Nick?
Hey, Jack.
How you doing?
Good, man.
How are you?
I'm good.
Listen, I got to give you props.
I'm not your biggest fan out there.
I would hope to be one day a foxhole guy from the Blake Eichen Fritz show,
but that Schwarber leadoff home run, man, doesn't get any better than that.
It's a fun one.
They're not 22-4 when Schwarber leads off a game with a home run.
It's pretty wild.
And it's just nice to also see that his average is what it is,
but it's still a lot better than it was last year.
They're must-see TV.
And I hang on every pitch.
I got to watch.
And it's just been so enjoyable.
You know, Hoffman, Armstrong, it's wiped out sometimes you know they're in it you know they
they floundered a little bit but I just gotta say Jack you know it's just so enjoyable I'm enjoying
every moment I possibly can with the team and it's just what I've wanted for this summer to
be honest with you yeah I mean the first team in baseball had 60 wins.
Like, that doesn't happen around here very often.
And, you know, 2011 happened, and that was an awesome summer.
But this really does – like, I wasn't alive for 93,
but this feels very 93-ish where they're just really freaking good
and the ballpark's packed every night
and everyone is just all in on the Phillies.
Like, it's yeah it's
it's special right now i mean up until they built a new stadium 93 was the last time i went to
see the phillies and you know 97 happened you know i was a kid and then you know there's been
a lot of tears over the years but um i can, you know, see what it is
and enjoy it for what it is.
And, you know, real quick, I will give a shout-out to my boy Dave Primetime
with him for a nice game tonight, and I'll let you go, Jack.
Thank you very much.
Appreciate your time.
All right, there he goes, Nick and Jerry L.
But, yeah, I mean, to the overall point, like, they just got to get it done it's why i i just i don't really
believe when i hear when i hear like rosenthal and this isn't about ken rosenthal you know it's just
when i hear these reports about yeah they're looking more for bullpen and and and fringe
pieces like it's not dave dombrowski i know he hasn't made that big all-in move with this team yet
from the trade deadline perspective,
but we've seen him when push comes to shove.
He got David Price when he was with the Tigers,
but he didn't totally need him on that team.
I think when push comes to shove, he's going to find a way to get a guy
like Luis Robert here and put him in the middle of that lineup,
have him play center field, and say, let's go win the damn thing.
I just continue to believe that's going to happen.
But we'll see.
Trade deadline again, 20 days away.
It's exciting.
It's nerve-wracking.
It's all of that.
Either way, thanks for hanging out with me tonight.
Buzz Wilson, Dan Wilson, produced the program tonight.
