It is a special
late night edition of High Hopes Radio.
And yes, Jack Fritz, we...
Oh, I'm still a life.
Dan Wilson, that's called producing right there,
listening to the show, bringing what we need.
Fritzy, we saw the baseball team that we fell in love with this season,
the team that won us over, even without Harrison Bader,
and his absence was felt even tonight at points with me.
margin center field obviously but man what we said coming in the big boys showed up finally
trey turner three hits kyle schwerver two bombs including like the bomb of the postseason and harper
two hits good at bats all around man and and the nola ranger thing man to perfection playoff ranger
just man what a special special special guy he is once it's october fritzie i
I am riding high, man.
We got Sanchea on the Hill tomorrow.
Let's freaking go.
I don't think I've been this awake at 1245, maybe since college.
I don't think I've been this jacked up.
And, man, I mean, everything worked out on it.
I'm not going to lie, it was tight there in the middle.
It was tight.
It felt.
Oh, buddy.
I mean, I said impend, I was watching with our buddy neighbor Tommy.
I said I have a sense of impending doom.
Every time we kept not getting runners in, I was like,
this is going to come back.
to bite us and somehow it didn't yeah but even when i just they just had that that feel when
they're up three one that eat they were in such a good spot such a good spot there's a lot of
heroes from this one totally there's i mean it it's almost enough to go around one rob thompson's
planned plan worked and and shot to rob a lot of people oh i mean the nola people want to know
to go seven after his first two
innings. The way people
flipped, like, and Ranger
allowing the homer on the first pitch
was, honestly, in hindsight,
now he can say the funniest thing that's maybe
ever happened. It was amazing.
And shout to Knowles. Getting out of that first inning
without allowing a run was massive.
Massive, massive stuff
from him. So the Rob
Thompson plan worked. Obviously, it
only works because Ranger Suarez was
brilliant. Brilliant.
Especially after her first pitch.
home run jack to just settle in and then just go five shuddy after that i mean
and just do a job there's a big double play in there that kind of killed any rally the
dodgers had ranger was brilliant ranger was absolutely brilliant i love that man that might
have been his last outing as a philly i mean i hope not i hope not but man the guy is a postseason
and legend drops his postseason eras as a filly to under 1.3 i think or at least it's definitely
under 1.8 at 1.28 jack and and on the road in i believe like 23 innings or something close to it
a 0.41 road post i mean right dude right it's crazy they they jumped on yamamoto
yamamoto looked great early but you know it was refreshing to see the
Philly's come in at least with a plan.
It didn't work early, but it eventually worked.
They jumped all over them.
And it was one of those home runs by Schwerber that seemed to happen more in the last
couple of years rather than this year because this year they've just been a good team.
But it was one of those silencers.
And it was one of those deep breath.
We're going to be okay.
And that's why Kyle Schwerber is so important for this team.
because he does that and it backs up what he says in the clubhouse because what he says
in the clubhouse is, we'll be okay, you're a good player, go do your thing, and let's ride.
He did his thing, Turner did his thing, Harper did his thing, J.T. did his thing.
J.T., massive, massive stuff from him tonight.
And we got a playoff Clayton Kershaw meltdown.
Classic Kershaw, man.
That's what he does.
The playoff Kershaw was playoff Kershaw tonight.
Oh, and Brian Anderson, weeping in the night thing about how tough it was to watch.
It was great.
Oh, my goodness.
In front of Sandy Kofax, give me more.
Oh, it was amazing.
And Fray, I'm so with you, Jack, with the Schwerber moment there.
I turned to Tommy and I said, old Schwerber, like the guy we saw before the last month or so,
Homer's in this spot.
It's like we got this right out immediately after the Ranger Homer,
gets through that inning comes back.
It's like, this is such a Schwerber home run spot.
The guy we've seen these two games wasn't going to do it,
but he became the Kyle Schwerber that we know and we love.
And in that spot, you're so right.
It felt so like how many times has he done that
where they just, it feels like things are about to go bad.
And he's like, settle down everyone.
I got this.
And what a time for him to finally bust out.
And then to your point, for the rest of the offense.
And let's get to it because I think that is the wrap up.
The wrap-up sponsored by Roto Router.
When plumbing problems hit, wrap them up quick and call Roto Router.
This team tackles, clogs, leaks.
So you can stay in the game, Roto Router, your MVP for plumbing solutions.
And that's the wrap-up.
The MVP was the top of the lineup, exactly what we said.
And Ranger obviously gets a ton of credit and Noles as well.
But if you don't score runs, you're not going to win.
We've said that every single game.
And the first three games was, as we discussed, a disaster for those top three guys at the lineup.
and Jack, even the outs, even the at-bats,
I mean, Harper, those first two at-bats,
Schwerber and Turner, or Turner and Torr,
I was a little nervous.
And then that Harper-A-Bad was such a good at-bat,
working back from O-2, getting the walk,
staying within himself.
And it gave me confidence moving forward.
And the rest of the game, all those guys,
just strong abats, you know,
working the count, getting Yamamoto out,
and then obviously, you know, J-T and other guys delivering as well.
But, you know, look, that was 9-4-16,
Two home runs at the top of the lineup, multiple RBI, multiple runs scored.
I mean, that's the story of the game.
It's funny.
Somehow the Bryson Stod-Bunt was not the worst bun of the series.
Dude, it's so funny.
It worked.
This one worked.
It had two RBI single right after.
That's small ball, baby.
No, I'm talking about Trey Turner leading up the game.
Oh, dude, oh, that was exactly.
I thought you were talking about the bunt late in the game.
No, that's my point.
The bunt and then the Schwerber bat, I was like, oh, no.
Here we go.
Yep.
Here we go.
Here we go.
And I think what was so reassuring and positive about tonight is like,
that's the team that we saw, man.
Like, that's a team that had us believing that they were different.
Even without Bader.
Actually, like, I was driving home and I just did the pregame show or the first hour with Tom.
And I said, you know, this is a team that's overcome injuries all year long,
whether it's Turner, whether it's Harbor, whether it's Wheeler.
And we know the litany of injuries.
It's like, well, I mean, it kind of makes sense for them to overcome a little Bader injury.
And I hope we can get back in there tomorrow.
He should be able to get back in there tomorrow.
I don't know. We'll see. If nothing else, Saturday, but, you know, we'll see. Those are tough, those roins. You never know.
Well, apparently it's good enough to, like, run the bases if they wanted.
Okay. All right. Let's go. Please. And look, would you, I mean, even if you have to play him in left field to get his bat in line up, I would do that. I'd play him in left field, you know.
Well, I mean, yes, I agree.
If you can't, if you feel like you can't, like if you really, like, whatever it takes to get his bat in the lineup, whatever it takes, dude, as he is a part of that video, if you don't know.
Exactly right.
But, I mean, it was so evident.
I mean, Marsh lets that ball fall in front of him in the first.
Bader might get to that baseball.
Well, no, the marshaling the ball was later.
Marsh diving and missing was in the first.
And I think Bader has a real chance to get that box to get such better breaks.
But even if he doesn't, I think Bader just plays it better.
I mean, that was such a poor decision to dive for that baseball in that spot.
Yeah.
But it doesn't matter.
It didn't.
Look, it didn't matter.
All those things that we felt like we're going to come.
back to, I mean, Schwerber getting picked off first base.
I mean, that was, I was, that was hideous.
It was hideous.
And again, it was that type of thing where, I mean, the Phillies could have won 15th one
tonight, man.
Yeah, like, it felt like there were three different innings where they had real, I mean,
Marsh had two big at bats against a lefty, Stott had a bat.
Like, there were multiple spots where, especially after the last game with how aggressive
Topper was obviously to a fault to the point where we ran out of players at the end of the game.
Like, there were multiple spots where I thought.
he might pinch it for Marsh where he might pinch it for Stott.
And he left those guys in with the lead, the defense, all the stuff.
But, you know, I just kept feeling like not capitalizing in these opportunities.
You know, thank God for Ranger, man.
Thank God for Ranger.
Because if he wasn't great, they could have fumbled that game way.
Listen, there's a reason why I had a tweet feels like a loss three times.
Yeah, I saw.
I only, I saw one and two.
I didn't see the third.
I saw part two.
I was like, that's good.
Yeah, yeah.
I had to keep doing it because they ever came a game where Schwerberg got picked off in an egregious situation.
Again, I'm not totally sure even what he was thinking.
It makes no sense.
He saw Turner go and he got to start to go.
It's just crazy.
It just makes no sense.
They overcame Harper and Schwerber with no outs going strikeout pop-out against Bonda.
They got lucky through Harper should have been thrown out at third base instead of bad throw.
And he ends up scoring on the plane boom gets third.
But like that was a terrible decision to run in that spot.
Come on, man.
Charlie Hustle?
You kidding me?
And then he gets thrown out at home later, which is like, man.
Didn't need it.
If it's a close game, like maybe raining it on the base pass big dog.
Yeah, didn't need it.
So you had three feels like a losses.
I put 30 bucks on the Dodgers when it was 3-1.
I put before the game, I took Yamamoto strikeouts, 8 and 9.
That was plus money.
So we pulled out all the stops.
We did whatever it took to win.
Not only did the Phil's do whatever it took to win a ball game.
my Fandall account also did whatever it took to win a ballgame.
I don't care.
I don't care.
Get me to Saturday.
All we said, James, always said, was don't let this team win game three.
Game three was a game that Dodgers had to have.
You had to get game three because now he got Sanchez tomorrow.
And one of the biggest things tonight, and it is going to go under the radar, semi,
but not on this show.
They, dude, Rob was itching to pitch Duran.
on for two nights.
Oh, well, so, Jack, I'm so up you brought this up, because let me get to the pitch count
slash injury report.
It's brought to by the Plumbers Union Local 690, protecting the health of the nation,
visit plumbers 690.org.
And that's what I was going to bring up the pitch count thing.
And the idea of how they, thank God, for the J.T. Homer, which got Orion up and maybe
Duran not warming up super hard in that spot.
And then they start pouring on saving Duran.
You save Roberts and you save Strom.
You save, like, the meteor bullpen banks, obviously is to come in at the end, but only
throws one pitch, like to be able to navigate, and Kirkring comes in as a super easy inning,
to be able to navigate that without having to use Duran, without having used Duran, without having
used Dron, without having used Robbertson, and being able to get Ranger out in the seven
instead of using Nate.
Look, Ranger could be available in a game five potentially on Saturday out of the bullpen
if needed two.
So I thought as far as it goes, and look, to be fair, because of the way the game played
out, the Dodgers didn't use a lot of their high leverage guys as well.
So it's an even thing for tomorrow.
But it's huge for the Phillies, especially because, you know, we don't know, you know,
we just don't know how the game's going to play out and they need arms.
Well, I just have the sphere that, that he's going to use Duran for two innings and then,
okay, well, what's the playing tomorrow?
Well, now he can.
Now you go Sanchi 7 tomorrow and Duran 2.
And it's like, let's go back to Philly and freaking win a series, man.
Exactly.
And that was, I just, I understand you have to win the baseball game.
You have to win the baseball game.
But I was sitting there in the eighth, after the Ranger got done with the 3-1 lead in the seventh,
of saying like just at least let them start the eighth
yes yes yes yes
yes like see what happens with mukie if you get them out let him keep rolling
you have a two run lead in that spot we thought i was
a hundred percent with you so it's so so massive
they are in a damn good spot and i just
the way they played tonight and the way that they
i know i wish they capitalize more in the middle endings
i get it i and i i feel it too
But that was a free and easy baseball team that could have just had the damn break.
They could have just had it break to where they can say, let's go play our game.
And the key part, like, dude, Yamamoto is so good.
He's so nasty, dude.
I thought he was like, I was joking when Tommy about him throwing a no-hitter a few winnings in.
Like, he looked unhittable.
They got glass now tomorrow.
They got glass now.
It's not.
he's good, man. He's got good stuff.
He's very good. They're all good. That's the thing
with these guys. But we have the pitching advantage
tomorrow. We are going into the game tomorrow with a
decided pitching advantage. It's not
as daunting as Yamamoto. Yamamoto was
daunting. He was daunting.
And the Phil's came out there and they
did a job and they had the silencer
and then they added runs on at the end.
They could have won that game 12-1
if they wanted. Yeah.
One pitch from Ranger. It could have been nothing.
There was one pitch
and that was it, you know?
And it was good to see the decision to keep time on the roster, not a total waste of time.
Yeah, that worked out great.
And look, again, I know he said it, but for Ranger to come in and have that, it's just such a Ranger thing.
Like, I feel like that's the most Ranger thing possible.
Come in, give up a home run on the first pitch to break a zero, zero tie, you're down one, nothing, and then just settle in and dominate for five.
Like, nothing rattles the guy, man.
Nothing freaking rattles him.
And I do think the potential, he only threw, what, 60, 70 pitches, something like that.
You didn't throw that many pitches.
Maybe 70 plus, something like that.
I thought we got close to, yeah, 72.
72.
Okay, so yeah, I thought it was right around there.
So, I mean, look, they're really well set up.
They got their ace on the hill tomorrow.
Let's go freaking win a game and bring it home.
All right, 215, 592, 94, 94.
Coming up, we're going to take your calls, reaction to a really, what a fun thing.
to watch the Phillies again, Jack?
It's like you go a week without them
in those two games and you forget.
What a fun team they've been this year
and tonight we saw that. All right, 215,
5-92, 94-94. We're going to come back.
We're going to take your calls. We're going to continue
to react to an 8-1
Philly's dominant victory.
8-2. You're right. Yeah, right.
I forgot about Taiwan. 8-2.
Dominant victory. Still winning
the overall run differential in the series, too,
for the run differential people out there.
All that matters.
That's all that matters.
Maybe not in this series.
All right.
We'll come back.
We'll continue to react to the special
High Hopes edition of a post-game show right here on Final Out.
It's WIP.
We'll be right back.

He's from the right side.
That ball's crushed.
to right field. Hernandez doesn't even move. It is long gone. It's off the roof of the
pavilion in right field. Kyle Swarber, his first postseason home run of the year. It's his
22nd of his career. And with a lightning strike, the Phillies tie it up at one.
And what a monster, unbelievable shot reminiscent Jack of the home run in San Diego.
Diego, obviously, a Titanic shot, the furthest of the season so far.
All right, speaking of that, Jack, because I'm going to put you on the griddle here.
Coming to the phones in a minute, 215-592-94 to react as anyone who is up and willing to call us at 108 in the morning, we are excited to talk to you.
Even my brother's up listening.
Shout out to Peter.
I can't believe it.
All right, Jack, here.
I'm putting you on the griddle because it's time to pick the player of the game brought to you by South Jersey Gas Conserve, helping customers in the community save energy and money.
visit south jersey gas concern or south jersey dot com slash conserve fritzi here's my question for you we
just heard that audio i think look a lot of great nights i mean tray was great harbour was great you
know we've thought j t is up there but i think at the end of the day the player of the game comes
down to either ranger swarres or karl swerver a do you agree with that and b make the call yeah so i'm
giving it to ranger i'm giving it to ranger uh the schwarber home run i think completely changed
the mindset of the game
and I think it got a team into it
and I think it relaxed everyone
but they don't win that ball game without Ranger
going for a Herculean effort.
So I'll give it to Ranger
but really you could give game balls
to a ton of guys tonight.
Thompson deserves one.
Totally.
Thompson deserves one.
You can give a mini one to Nola for the first inning.
I agree, man.
I agree.
You got out of that.
Ranger was brilliant.
JT.
I mean, JT's been their best hitter overall
this playoffs.
He's been phenomenal.
Now, listen, I would never accuse, I would never accuse Major League Baseball of juicing baseballs out in Los Angeles.
But, I mean, that Schwerver's second home run I thought was a pop.
Oh, dude.
It, like, I mean, it did barely get out, to be fair, bounce out the top of the wall, but I am fully with you.
I absolutely thought it was a pop out.
Dude, Otani hit one that somehow almost went out.
Dude, I kept going.
I was like, that can't be a home run.
Alex Bohn, it was a well-touched ball there in the first,
but that ball went to the warning track.
You're kidding me?
Yeah, I'm with you.
So Ranger not only battled a great Dodgers lineup,
but also allegedly.
Yeah, look then. Tommy Evan got him with one.
All right, 2155-92-94-94 with you reacting to the Phillies,
bringing us back into it a little bit and giving us some hope is Sancheon-Neil tomorrow night.
they got a great chance tomorrow night
let's go to the phones let's start out where we love
to on these nights
after these games with our guy
black gritty what up oh
no lo baby mama if nobody's told you
to the day i love you
oh god i love you so much okay
first of all my game ball's going to top of i be kicking
them in the shit so much i got to give it to the
tapper no la went out there got itself in the jam
got itself out of the jam
ranger comes out give up that ball
and then shuts it down, clouds.
Oh, my God.
It's Swarver.
If you believe he hit that ball to the moon,
I swear it got that ball.
It just feels so good to watch the play like they're supposed to play.
I'm a grown man with a family.
I should let a team have my emotions like they do.
You're talking to sport a baby mama.
I was distraught.
I have slept in two days.
In two days.
I don't know.
Like, tonight I'm asleep like a baby.
Knowing that what they do, Jack, they let us get one.
They let us get one, Jack.
We own them.
We own them.
Okay.
So, right now, I hope everybody's out there sleeping in their powder blues.
Don't change a thing.
Come out.
I want to see the dirt stains on everything, okay?
The whole team was showing up, and if they could do anything, I'll give it my hamstring.
It's old, but it works right now.
We need to get his win and get us home.
I love you guys.
And it's so nice that I can still say,
he's red off the war
oh i love it
love it great call there from black gritty
dude the powder blues man
dude i i said going in
honestly it was not tangible at all
but it was the thing that gave me the most hope
like i love the the didn't even pack the grays
like the whole thing it was like
you know what and and hey jack
you might not believe it but athletes are humans
and if they wanted to play in the powder blues
and it made them feel better you know what
let's roll man and it
was awesome to see it said it felt like a real rare sight you know it's like old school to ever see
the powder blues on the road so well first time they've worn them on the road in the playoff
game since uh the 1983 world series i was going to say the early 80s like you remember like
shooting those guys in the powder blues on the road so yeah it's it's it's pretty cool and
to have the night they had especially and and i to black gritty's point there jack i i too man
it is crazy and it's obviously influenced by the last few post seasons and the
fact that, you know, it made it two and eight in their last 10 and two and nine in their last
11 by our night and the, you know, four of five and then five of six at home and all that.
And it felt so familiar to the last few post seasons with the top of the lineup going cold and all
that.
But it is amazing how down they can make you in a two-game stretch when you spend 162 games
believing or at least, you know, half a season, if nothing else, believing in this team.
and really, you know, just feeling great about watching them play.
And then all of a sudden, it's like just despair.
And tonight it was like, oh, yeah, this is fun.
This can be fun, Jeff.
Dude, it's just, it's the best sport in the world.
I don't know what to tell you.
It's, it's, you go from, you go from, I hate these guys.
Yes, yes, yes.
I don't even want to re-sign college over to.
I was, I was, like, ranting about Nick Cass.
Seattle's, and I'm still not happy with him.
But, like, you know what?
Like, we won a baseball game tonight,
and I'm feeling much better about my team.
Yeah, yeah, dude, it's crazy.
I mean, and the swing of emotions to, like,
they're never going to, no shot of ever going out to L.A. to win.
Dude, do you know how many people we had on the radio today say,
the literal phrase, they can't win, flat out, like, can't.
It's not possible.
Yeah, yeah.
And then now they win tonight and watch tomorrow.
Tomorrow's going to be like, don't let us, don't let us win night.
what a day tomorrow we got we got the phils we got the birds it's a day it's a dubyip day
should not change the channel if it's on wip right nation change and the flyers and the flyers thank
you six is free reason do we care brod's coming up after us by the way he's going to split his time
between phillies and flyers i've heard but well he's on until two well we'll see if we can get
it oh is he supposed to be on until two oh no oh no brods i said i said i said maybe let's join the last
segment here and yeah that'll work yeah look yeah i don't have i don't
have that much time left in me anyway.
No. You got to be, what, on the air in two hours?
Yes. My alarm
is going off in an hour and 45 minutes.
You're not sleeping, kid. I have to.
I got to stay up tomorrow night, Jack.
Well, at least it's a 6 o'clock start.
Yeah, but it's 815 for the Eagles. I have to do both, you know.
Hold on. So we're doing a pot immediately after the Phil's and then you're going to
I don't know what's happening, but we'll definitely, we will be potting during the Eagles game.
Well, you know what game you're talking about when you're,
are talking into a microphone at some point here's the thing here's the thing the go birds podcast
is going to suffer tomorrow night i think that's really the main takeaway is that if there's
any point where the games are on at the same time my attention is going to be on the phillies i'm
sorry i have two TVs i'm going to do my best you know what i do but my attention will be firmly
devoted to our phillies you can guarantee that fritzie dude i got to be honest man i got to be
honest i feel good about tomorrow night i do too i can't believe it i felt good about tonight i even
tweeted it you know i never tweet i even tweeted that as the day went on it just felt like you know
it's dumb and again not super tangible but we talk about all the time where it just felt with every
single person out there being like this the worst decision ever no one's going to get crushed
this horrible where it's like ah you know what i'm starting to think it's going to be the opposite
it just a vintage filled out digging yes jack yes you know what out you know a lot of you know a lot of
things give me hope today so first off they're now uh 12 and 3 in their last 15 wearing the
powder blues that's that's awesome important they just feel better in them getting away from
CBP mattered mattered and dude by the way if they win tomorrow CVP is going to be a freaking
madhouse on on Saturday it's going to be unbelievable it's going to be I'm trying to get too
ahead of myself because I know I know I just don't we got to win a game tomorrow we got to win a
tomorrow win a ball game tomorrow okay don't get ahead of yourself i feel good about tomorrow i do
i do too i do too i really do but we got to win a ball game come on sanche come on sanche let's uh
go back to the phone yeah there's just there's a lot of things to feel positive about right let's see what
david ben salem feels like davy hey good morning jack good morning james how you guys doing with the good
morning damn i need james to get some sleep just sleep in the studio and get this morning you're
Oh, no. Trust me.
What an incredible win.
What an incredible win.
Facing the process of elimination.
And they got the win, man.
The top of the order finally hit.
And what you guys have been saying for days,
that's what they needed to do, man.
I'm with you, Dave.
They weren't going to win a series of those guys
weren't going to show up, and they showed up in a big way.
And guess what, Dave?
They broke open the dam tonight.
They broke open the dam.
And Glass Nels a dead man tomorrow.
Glass Nails a dead man.
Oh, without a doubt.
I need T.
says to pitch the game of his life tomorrow.
Get me back to Citizens Bank Park on Saturday night.
That's what we need.
That's what we need.
I love you guys.
Go Philly.
Dave, what a call.
Dave, that's the guy.
At 117 in the morning, that was like a shot of coffee.
Way to go, Dave.
I love it.
And look, Jack, how about just this team, like, not going out with a wimper tonight?
Like, not, like, that was our biggest fear tonight.
was coming out, and Nola gets touched up for a few early,
and the bats just get tight, and they don't show up.
And even though they go down one-nothing, like, they freaking fought,
and they had good at bats.
And they, other than a couple boneheaded mistakes,
they played pretty good baseball.
Like, it was just nice to not see these guys go down in a way that,
you really could have, like, tainted the way we feel about some of these guys,
who aren't going anywhere, by the way, like, no matter what,
Price Hartford, Trayter, like, some of these guys are going to be here, you know?
So I was so happy to see them fight the way we wanted them to.
Yeah.
Again, like we talk about the swing of emotions when following a baseball team.
Tonight was like, there are guys.
Totally.
There's still there are guys.
There's still our guys.
And yeah, dude, I don't know how I would have handled it going out sad performance and
like NOLA getting shelled.
And then like the Ranger planned backfiring.
tonight was a really good reminder of how good this team could be.
And you know what I appreciated?
I appreciated a lot of the pregame quotes.
I think it was mooky.
I think Dave Roberts said it.
I think Kike said it.
And they didn't all say it the same way,
but they all had the same message of like,
we got to step on a throat.
Like we don't want to give them any kind of air.
And we don't want to let them up because we have them down right now.
and you hope you don't have to look back and say,
man, what a missed opportunity games one and two were.
Hopefully they could have come back and win a series.
But this is what we're talking about when we said they've been right there with this team.
Like they've been, the Dodgers are great.
We understand that.
But what was nice about tonight is the Phillies reminded us that they're great too.
They're great too.
And if they can just win a baseball game tomorrow and have,
all of the momentum back on their side to where we can be at CBP.
And I don't know if it's going to be, it may get tight late.
I don't know.
But I know one thing's for damn sure that people are going to walk in on Saturday night
if they can get it back for a game five and be ready to lose their minds.
And I don't think the Dodgers want to make an across-country trip again.
I don't think they want to do that.
So it's on the Phillies to make that happen.
I, dude, perfectly said, and I'm totally with you on the CBP on Saturday Night thing.
Like, you're right.
Look, the way the game plays out, things could change the mood there or whatever.
But going in, like, we didn't expect it to come back here.
I mean, we talked earlier today, and as the day went on, you know, I convinced myself they were going to win.
You convinced yourself they were going to win, and we ended up being right.
But, you know, the feeling, you know, after the last game there on Monday and Tuesday and all that was like,
was like a funeral.
It felt like the end of something there.
And to be able to get back there,
it'll just like, for us as fans,
it's almost like a nothing to lose.
Let's go in there and just lose our minds type of situation
because we didn't think it was going to happen.
And there's a chance that they can bring it back there.
And to your point,
I do think that's the kind of situation
where for once in recent times,
Diamondback series, Mets, this,
where the pressure flips,
Like the pressure flips.
If they can get it back here, all of a sudden, the Dodgers are the team who are on the brink of blowing an O2 series.
And the Dodgers are the team who had to get back on the road after none of these other teams that went down to or whatever and fought back back like the Yankees won a game and lost.
The Tigers have won a couple.
Like they all lost the games on the road and then won at home.
The Phillies would have done the opposite.
They would have gone in L.A. and stolen two and brought it back home.
It feels like the one thing that maybe, because we've talked about them at Citizens Bank Park and the tightness.
and the pressure, it could be something where maybe the other team actually feels the pressure more.
And that could be a huge turning point potentially.
Well, I think they needed, it's been the one thing about starting these series at home.
You know, we talk about 22 a lot.
Well, part of what started that run was being able to start it on the road.
Totally.
Yeah, we talked about it.
It was huge.
It galvanized them kind of.
And get those kind of wins out of the way so that you would let the crowd at CBP kind of get
behind you and I think if they go out there
they take care of business tomorrow and again
rather than thinking about having to
beat the Dodgers and three straight
three straight games
all you have to think about is just beating them
win a game just win a game
with your ace on the hill go win a game
with your ace on the hill and that's it
worry about tomorrow tomorrow man
I'm so excited all right there and they're
they're in such a healthy
spot I know
they're in a healthy spot
come on man come on
Such a big game tonight.
All right.
I've said tonight because it's night.
All right.
By the way, for those who didn't know, because the Cubs won today,
they will not be the only game tomorrow.
608 start time, which is huge for the people who want to be able to do both the Eagles
and the Phillies helps a little bit.
All right, 215-592-94-94.
We got one more segment to go for Final Out, High Hopes Radio.
I'm so happy, man.
I'm so happy.
They won a freaking ball game tonight.
Now let's go do it again tomorrow.
It's Fritz, it sells, and we're coming right back.

let's wrap this up and what's your favorite movie with bane a in it yeah i don't get me started buddy
Arrival is a good one.
I know that came up on your show.
All right.
Give me some final thoughts here before we can go to bed.
Well, the final thought is this.
This is a team who answered the call tonight.
And from so many angles.
And I think that's why we sit here.
If they won this game and it felt fake, you know,
you can win a baseball game in a fake way.
It felt early, like even when they were up 3-1,
that, oh, no, this still doesn't totally feel right.
though they kind of were keeping the Dodgers at bay.
Like if it had been three, two, the Dodgers get another run, and they're threatening
in the 9th, and the Phillies High Wire Act get out of it.
We're not feeling nearly as good going into tonight.
Dude, they freaking killed them tonight.
They woke them, man.
Again, it could have been 13 to 1.
They had so many opportunities.
Now, full disclosure.
They, the Dodgers did not pitch any of their studs, and Tanner Scott was not the game
for personal reasons.
So I understand that.
And that's why you can't get too out of yourself.
But from the standpoint of, I've heard.
so much about this team and how they lack hearts and oh my there they go the heartless
fillies oh they don't they don't fake run down on a hell mary so are they even are they
no reason to rip there's no reason for that that guy is the treasure okay anyway they're like
they're a bunch of losers this fillies team and it was just nice
that at least for one night and tomorrow they got to carry it over,
but at least for one night,
they reminded us of who that they have been for this entire season.
And I'm glad that Schwaburber and Harper and Turner.
By the way, not to, I feel like we haven't talked,
but Turner three.
No, totally, totally.
And that big, that after the bun to rip that single,
like that was what broke it open.
You know, the J.T. Homer and then that, it was like, all right,
like we're good we don't have to use deron we don't have to like that was one of the bigger hits
in the game and and you know what was so nice about tonight is that it looked like they took it
personally take it is that possible with this team jack i didn't know they were allowed to do that
take it personally flip the script things like like dumb things like that can trick these
athletes into thinking that like it's their time wearing the powder blues i just it was it was
a refreshing game and I again I really hope that we don't look back on games one and two and
think man they they they could have just taken one of those they're right in this thing and
we get back here in a game five but you can't change history what they have in front of them
tomorrow is Tyler Glass now who has good stuff but we've seen melt before now him being
at home maybe a different story maybe a different story
but you have Chris Sanchez who has done it
I think he actually had jitters
in the first game
I think he's going to deal tomorrow
I have all the confidence in the world
and Chris tomorrow
I expect second time around tonight
I know I got to stop doing that
I've had a longstanding belief
until you go to bed I totally agree with you
it's a great take
not to three no I think three is the
oh I think it's when you go to sleep
then the next day starts
disagree I think it's three
all right let me go to bed
this is nonsense
But, but they have, they have, they, they did not have to go to Duran.
They have him available tomorrow.
They have all of their relievers.
They're in a really freaking good spot.
Go take down glass now.
Go take down glass now with Sanchez on the mound.
And, and get us to CBP on Saturday night, 808.
Need it, injected into my veins.
and play Pearl Jam.
Yeah, buddy.
I need that tweet.
I'm with you.
Everything, Jackson.
Get us to CBP, man.
Christopher, you got this, man.
You are a freaking ace.
This is your time.
This is your moment.
And like you said, seven of Sanchez, two a Durand.
They had a plan tonight.
Give me another plan tomorrow with Sanchi for seven,
Durham for two,
and let's freaking get on a plane and come home for CBP in game five.
I'm just so happy to be able to love this team again for a night
And I think tomorrow night
They give us another one
So look
Tune in we'll be doing a pod
As soon as the game ends tomorrow night
And keep it here
We're going to get Broads up now
John Johnson after that
Me right after that
Thank you Dan Wilson
Thank you to Alex Call
Thank you everyone called in you all rule
We love you so much
Freaking high hopes are back baby
Let's win one tomorrow
Until then he's for some Seltzer
