Starting point is 00:00:00 All-star closer, Kenley Jansen, we have a question. What's the best podcast of all time? Baseball Isn't Boring, baby. I'm Rob Bradford, and every single day I'm sitting down with the biggest names to show you this great game is the greatest game. It's my podcast. It's my passion. It's a cause I started more than two years ago and is now the most prolific national daily baseball pod there is.
Starting point is 00:00:20 Another fact, so jump aboard the BIB Express. Follow and listen to Baseball Isn't Boring, presented by Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage on the free Odyssey app or wherever you get your podcasts. Two outs, ninth inning. Alvarado looks at second. Now delivers. Swing and a miss.
Starting point is 00:00:36 Struck him out. Jose Alvarado comes back to get him. And the Phillies take game one of this four-game set with the Giants making the most of their few hits tonight. And the Phillies take a 4-3 win. Welcome on in. It is the final out sponsored by Regency Furniture. Affordable never looks so good.
Starting point is 00:01:02 Jack Fritz hanging out with you on this Friday night as ho-hum fills take another game tonight against the San Francisco Giants. It wasn't exactly the prettiest of all games, but still, they go out, they take game one of the series, and ultimately move to 11 games over
Starting point is 00:01:20 500. They are, this is their best start to a season since 2011 when they won 102 games. So they are finding different ways to win every night and doing their job. The game wrap up sponsored by Blaser, Swiss, Lubin, Kravitz,
Starting point is 00:01:34 the metalworking fluid specialist, providing CNC machine cleaning, coolant maintenance programs, and waste coolant disposal. Kravitz.online. If you're leaving the ballpark, we'd love to hear from you. 215-592-9494 to get in. Good crowd tonight.
Starting point is 00:01:51 A little cold. To be honest, I was not ready for 60s in April. Once you put the shorts on and it turns into short weather, I'm not totally ready to go back to it. So a little chilly down at the bank, and I think that did lead to the struggles for one, Aaron Nola. The biggest takeaway of the game is brought to you by Morgan & Morgan, America's largest injury firm.
Starting point is 00:02:16 Nola was not great. And, you know, you have the extra couple days with the six men that they've gone to, and maybe that got him off his rhythm. with the six man that they've gone to, and maybe that got him off his rhythm. But regardless, you know, this is a guy who has pitched a ton of innings the last couple of years. We know that when it gets a little bit colder, Aaron Nola is not as good as he usually is.
Starting point is 00:02:36 I mean, that second inning, after throwing nine pitches in the first, he threw 45 pitches, I believe, in that second inning, and was just kind of laboring out there. He walked four guys in that inning. So did not have his best stuff tonight. And, you know, just given how much in a rhythm those guys were at the beginning of the year and how it seems like they've got kind of thrown off a little bit, I don't think six-man really is the way to go.
Starting point is 00:03:04 There was the John Heyman report before the game about how the Phillies are going to keep Spencer Turnbull in the rotation, and then Rob Thompson talked before the game, and that seems like it might, I mean, they're going to make a decision tomorrow on what is kind of happening there. But regardless, Nola did not look great tonight. Now, I'm not raising the white flag here. One of their best pitchers had an off night.
Starting point is 00:03:29 But still, with a bullpen that is fully rested, Rob Thompson got him out of there in the fourth and handed things over to Strom, Dominguez, Kirkering, Hoffman, and Alvarado, and they were able to bring it home. The bullpen tonight is my player of the game, which is sponsored by South Jersey Gas, committed to providing safe, reliable, affordable natural gas. Make the switch at southjerseygas.com slash lovemyhome.
Starting point is 00:03:53 The only run they allowed was Kirkring, who was, eh, I mean, okay. You know, I have some thoughts on all five of these guys. Strom continues to develop into one of their most reliable bullpen options. Aggressive in the strike zone, has some stones. Good reliever. I'm not saying anything looked good. He really got four outs in that inning, which is a good sign. Didn't have total feel for his slider,
Starting point is 00:04:24 but you could see the shape starting to develop there. And if he can find the release point for it, I think there's something to the Dominguez slider because it was brutal to begin this year. Either way, fastball looked like old Sir Anthony levels. Like, he was
Starting point is 00:04:39 getting good swing and miss on it. And being able to throw it for strikes just totally changes things. And I thought it was a positive outing for on it, and being able to throw it for strikes just totally changes things. And I thought it was a positive outing for Sir Anthony, and hopefully they can get him kind of going with Junior Marte hitting the 15-day IL earlier today. Kirkering, it's just so many sweepers. It's a really good pitch. It's a nasty pitch. But if he can throw his fastball more and
Starting point is 00:05:05 have his sweeper be more of like a not a secondary pitch because it won't be that but surprise hitters because there's times where these guys just sit on it. They just sit on it and they're waiting for the sweeper. And these guys are big leaguers. You're not
Starting point is 00:05:22 going to be able to get them out forever on just one pitch. It's good he got the double play but man i just his sweeper is so good it's just he needs that fastball to get guys off the sweeper so you know that was my ryan ryan kirkering thought jeff off, just sick. And Jose Alvarado, same thing. I mean, this is the best I've felt about the back end of the bullpen, the 8-9 guys in the pen since really the bridge to Lich. I mean, those guys are just nasty back there. So, good job by the bullpen. And, I mean, I talked about this earlier on the afternoon show.
Starting point is 00:06:04 If you listen to IOPs with me and James Seltzer, the Phillies heading into the series of the highest bullpen in the area in baseball. And it just doesn't feel that way. When you can go Strom, Dominguez, Kirk, Hoffman, Alvarado, it's pretty good. And I know technically they have the numbers of the numbers, but it just hasn't felt that way. So that was my biggest takeaway from the game. Some other things.
Starting point is 00:06:30 Multiple times they pitched around Harper for Boehm. I mean, did anyone let the Giants know that Alec Boehm was one of the best hitters in the National League right now? I mean, he has a 16-game hitting streak. Bryce is going through one of his down periods right now. Why are you pitching around Bryce to get to Boehm? That makes absolutely no sense. So, shout-out to Bob Melvin, who, I mean, I guess he just kind of struggles.
Starting point is 00:06:59 This isn't the bank park. You know, he did not bring in, a couple years ago, Josh Hader to face Bryce Harper. And tonight, again, just pitching to Bryce Harper, or pitching around Bryce Harper to get to Alec Boehm. It makes absolutely no sense. And the final thing here, and I think it does need to be pointed out, 10 more strikeouts for the offense. I mean, they had 18 in the last game out in Los Angeles, but 10 more. And Jordan Hicks, heading into the game, was really good.
Starting point is 00:07:26 Didn't have his best stuff tonight, but you would like to see them kind of get that number down. 2-1-5, 5-9-2, 94-94 to get in. Blake kicks us off tonight in Arbor. What's happening, Blake? Hey, Jack. Thanks for taking my call. Tonight actually reminded me of a lot of those wins we had last summer where the team would
Starting point is 00:07:45 go down early and then fight their way back. And it's been the opposite this year. They're going early lead. They're slugging early. They're giving their pitchers margins to work with. But it's good to see, I think, that the team can win in different aspects like they did tonight. And this team's only going to get better.
Starting point is 00:08:02 Harper's only hitting 230-something. Stott's hitting 220-something. This team could be really, really good. I think this is a championship-caliber club, and it's really going to get better. You see Harper's only hitting 230-something, Stott's hitting 220-something. This team could be really, really good. I think this is a championship-caliber club, and it's really fun to see. Yeah, I mean, they are finding different ways to win, and it's almost like you watch them, and they haven't even really scratched the surface
Starting point is 00:08:18 of how good they could be. You know, the bullpen area is down a little bit. Stars have been really good. And the offense, it's kind of a couple guys carrying them. And while I think it's unfair to expect them all to be firing on all cylinders, I mean, there's just such a high upside for this team. It's pretty ridiculous. Definitely.
Starting point is 00:08:38 And then I just have a quick question about the pitching. And I think you could say this is a good problem to have compared to last year when they were starting Bailey Falter and Matt Strong at this point. But you see John Heyman said they're going to keep Turnbull in the rotation. And what do you do? Do you go six man? Do you move
Starting point is 00:08:55 Tyrone Walker to the bullpen? And then with that, using a potential bullpen slot because of Tyrone Walker or you're going to have one less bullpen pitcher if you have start six guys. How do you address Kobe coming back potentially, Marquee coming back, and then Jose Ruiz?
Starting point is 00:09:12 If he does well, what do you do? You have only so many spots and a lot of good pitchers right now. Let me know your thoughts on that, and go Dodgers also. Always. Thanks, Blake. Yeah, so the way that Wheeler talked about it, the way that you saw Nola just not have his best stuff tonight, I'm not sure six-man is the best thing for this team going forward. And last year they did it for a little bit,
Starting point is 00:09:35 and it kind of drained the bullpen. So maybe they put Sanchez, and they flip-flopped Turnbull and and Sanchez and Turnbull's starter and Sanchez kind of piggybacks off of him. I think Taiwan's going to be in the rotation until he's not. Maybe that's three starts. Maybe that's four starts. I did think he got a little unlucky in that last Padre start. I mean, I know it was six earned and that was annoying, but he also, you know, Bryce made a play in the seventh that I think he can make on most nights, and he had a guy struck out in that third inning, I believe. So, I don't know. Like, I've been as anti-Taiwan or as out on Taiwan as anybody, but I'm willing to give it more than one start, especially given that it's May.
Starting point is 00:10:26 He can kind of work through things. Now, if it goes bad, it goes bad, and the good part is they have plenty of options if things go bad to where they can go to someone else in the rotation, but man, it's a pretty good problem to have, and you mentioned all the bullpen arms. Jose Ruiz was warming up early in the game, but Nola kind of settled into a role there. And while he didn't have his best stuff, the second inning kind of derailed his entire outing. 2-1-5-5-9-2, 94-94.
Starting point is 00:10:56 It's the final out here on Sports Radio 94 WIP. 2-1-5-5-9-2, 94-94. To get in if you are on your drive home, would love to hear from you. But on the other side, the injury report with a potential big one for the Phils and some progress from two hitters at the plate tonight in my eyes. We'll get to some thoughts on that coming up next on the Final Loud on Sports Radio 94 WIP.

Starting point is 00:11:47 or wherever you get your podcasts. Welcome back. It is the final out. Sports Radio 94 WIP. The final out is always sponsored by Regency Furniture. Affordable never looks so good. Jack Fritz hanging out with you here on the final out. That is the injury report, which is sponsored by the
Starting point is 00:12:07 Plumbers Union Local 690 protecting the health of the nation. Visit plumbers690.org and that's a big one. So, Trey Turner, if you missed it, he scores from second base, which is a play that, I mean, there might be, what, five players in baseball?
Starting point is 00:12:24 You feel like you can make that play that Trey Turner made on the bases. Just gliding out there. Pretty special. But he apparently left the game after that with hamstring soreness. Rob Thompson spoke after the game and said they're going to do further testing tomorrow. He said hamstrings can be tricky. Don't love that answer. But at the same time, I feel like Thompson's
Starting point is 00:12:46 been kind of weird with injuries. And maybe this is just because of the Reese Hoskins thing last year where he's like, yeah, he's walking around the clubhouse. He's probably okay. And then he ended up tearing his ACL. So, listen, teams are not always truthful about injuries. It is what it is.
Starting point is 00:13:01 They always play coy. Regardless, Trey Turner, given the way he's hitting right now, he's obviously 2-for-3 tonight, had some infield singles, makes that play on the bases. He's a weapon. And when you look at the lineup right now, and it's Schwarber, Turner, Harper, Boehm, it's a pretty good 1-4.
Starting point is 00:13:19 And if you take Turner out of that, it's a pretty significant loss, given that after Boehm, JT hit or miss. Cassianos mostly misses. Marsh really struggling against lefties. He had another hit tonight with Rohn in the scoring position and brought home a couple guys. But when it comes down to versus lefties, I mean, three strikeouts tonight.
Starting point is 00:13:42 So, I mean, they don't really let him face lefties. He had three strikeouts tonight. They don't really let him face lefties. So far, they kind of look right in doing that. Regardless, it's not a huge deal. He still is having a really good start to the year. This lineup goes pretty much as much as the top four
Starting point is 00:14:00 in the lineup go. I hope he's okay. He probably misses tomorrow i mean if it's just a hamstring soreness it's probably just one game and then gets back out there obviously we'd love to see him back in there but at the same time it's it's may 3rd and tomorrow may 4th um and given the weather tomorrow it's supposed to be like low 60s again so not exactly the the warmest of days i'm sure it'll be a little bit – I'm sure it'll be hard to get the hamstring kind of loosened up.
Starting point is 00:14:29 So not great, but definitely one to monitor, and hopefully there's no IELTS then for Trey Turner because he has gotten off to a really, really good start to the season. 215-592-9494. Let's check in with Tyler in Scranton. What's happening, Tyler? Hey, Jack. How's it going? First time in a long time, big fan of the season. 2-1-5, 5-9-2, 94-94. Let's check in with Tyler and Scranton. What's happening, Tyler? Hey, Jack. How's it going? First time in a long time. Big fan of the pod.
Starting point is 00:14:49 Thanks, man. Appreciate it. My question is about Orion. For me, he's the key for this bullpen going from good to elite. But that fastball, why doesn't he throw it more? Is it a control issue? Confident? He could throw it 98, so I'm not sure why he doesn't mix it in more often.
Starting point is 00:15:07 I know you're a pitcher savant, so I'd love to hear your input. Go Dodgers, and I'll hang up and listen. Thanks, Tyler. Yeah, I just – so I can't tell if he doesn't have confidence in it. Just looking at it, it seems like he doesn't have much confidence in it. I would like for him to maybe work on a little bit of a two-seam sinker kind of fastball. I think he's throwing that a little bit more. It was more 96 tonight with a little bit more movement.
Starting point is 00:15:35 He got the double play ball to Solaire, which was good to see on some two-seam run. I think his four-seam just might be too flat. I know people will say, well, he's got 98-99. Well, Major League hitters can hit 98-99 if it's flat. That might just be the case with a Ryan Kirkering is that his fastball might be flat. Now, if he can work on a sinker and he can work on developing that two-seamer and get guys off the barrel. That would be huge.
Starting point is 00:16:11 He looks like a guy that might not have the confidence in the fastball that you would like to see. My only issue with that is that the sweeper is really good. It's just there needs to be a complementary pitch to it. When it's just sweeper over and over and over again, that's how you allow the base hits. That's how you have bases loaded, no outs tonight in his appearance. Like, it's a really good pitch, but he needs a fastball to get people off of that pitch to make it that much more effective.
Starting point is 00:16:44 And when he can effectively do that, it just makes him that much more complete of a reliever. But until he does that, it's hard to put him in spots where it's super high leverage. I mean, look at Jeff Hoffman. Jeff Hoffman has three pitches. He's got 97, 98. He was throwing, I don't know if i've seen his fastball with that
Starting point is 00:17:05 much sink tonight or as i've seen tonight he's like 97 with legit sink to it up in the zone nasty he's got the splitter and then he's got the slider like that's three legit pitches it's not just kirkering throwing the same pitch over and over and over again kirkering's gonna be good it's just right now he needs something else to where he can get guys off that sweeper and make it that much more effective. I do think there's two bright spots in the lineup tonight. When you're talking about the bottom portion of it that has kind of gotten off to a bit of a slow start. So Rojas smoked two balls that Jung Hao Lee was able to go and chase
Starting point is 00:17:47 down. Listen, I like that kid out in center field for the Giants. And he made a basket catch, kind of looked like he might lose it for a second there, but he chased it down and grabbed to him. Either way, if it's 75, 80 plus degrees, like it usually is in May, I mean, Roas might have another home run. He drove some baseballs tonight, which is really, really good to see. So I thought Roas had a good night, even though he did not get a hit, but I thought he hit two balls hard. And Stott did not get a a hit but I thought he hit two balls pretty pretty well to the opposite way maybe thinking more left center field gap getting him in rhythm and he hit another ball that again if this is a month from now is probably in the seats so two of the young guys Stott struggling more than than rojas really is but sometimes the the box
Starting point is 00:18:47 score is not always indicative of what your eyes tell you and i thought both those guys had had pretty good nights at the plate even though they didn't get a hit uh tyler is in delaware what's happening tyler what's up man how are you good how are you Good. Yeah, we're on the way home from the game tonight, and I'm just curious why Topper hasn't sat Cassianos at least one game. I mean, this dude is clueless at the plate, and he's swinging and swailing at everything. It's terrible. Well, my theory is, Tyler,
Starting point is 00:19:24 is that I think they're trying to get him to the Cal Ripken streak. I think they're trying to get him to have the longest streak. I don't know, man. I would sit him at least a game, get him off his feet, get him some rest. I think they're kind of intimidated by Nick Cassiano. It's like he wants to play. They cater to veterans. They trust that those guys are going to hit their way out of it. But it's frustrating when you see Stott sit the amount of games that he sits
Starting point is 00:19:48 or Marsh sits the amount of games that he sits. Now, Marsh has not been great against lefties. Stott's gone off to a slow start, so you get it. But it's like, well, why did those guys have to take days off and Nick Castellanos doesn't? I guess that they are just, given that they're playing well, they're 11 games over.500, it's May. I guess my read on the situation is it's not really killing them right now,
Starting point is 00:20:11 and if they can get him going and they think this is the best way to get him going, then they might as well just keep trying it until, I guess, the wheels fall off. But I think they could be weeks from making a decision on Castellanos-Dyler. Yeah. The other thing was is that, you know, you see Strom come out, and he pitches really well. And obviously, Noah didn't have his great sharp stuff, you know, that he usually has.
Starting point is 00:20:37 And Strom comes out, and he throws a great inning, and we start wasting more arms in the bullpen. And we're using up five guys in one night when we could have sent Strom out there for the second inning and at least eat up one more. It's just getting frustrating with Topper. Yeah, I mean, I hear that. I just, do we really need to use two innings of Strom when you could? It's not like the bullpen's been overworked at all.
Starting point is 00:21:04 So, ideally, you get Strom one. That means you could probably like, it's not like the bullpen's been overworked at all. So, ideally, you get Schramm one. That means you could probably bring him back. Maybe not tomorrow because he's pitched twice in the last couple days. But Sunday. Like, these guys have been pretty underutilized given the length that the starters have given you for the majority of this year. So, I do think they need work. And maybe that's a reason why the bullpen ERA has been as high as it's been.
Starting point is 00:21:27 I didn't have a problem with tonight. I appreciate being aggressive, and when you have range on the mound tomorrow, given the groove he's in, hopefully he can kind of save you some innings in that bullpen and you don't have to use many guys. If you do, it's probably not going to go as well. 2-1-5, 5-9-2, 94-94 is the final.
Starting point is 00:21:47 Jack Fred's hanging out with you on this Friday night. On the other side, we'll get to the play of the game, plus a look ahead to tomorrow night as we have more Philz Giants in a weird four-game set where on Monday it's a 4-0-5 start. But regardless, 6-0-5 tomorrow, we will preview that coming up next here on the Final Out on Sports Radio 94 WIP. 16 straight
Starting point is 00:22:12 for Bomer. That is the play of the game, sponsored by Mike's Amazing, the official mayo and mustard of the Phillies. And again, I just couldn't believe how much they were just walking Bryce to get to Bome tonight. Has anyone checked the scouting reports for the Giants? Are they keeping up to date with how hot Alec Baum is?
Starting point is 00:22:30 He was just like NL player of the week. I don't get it. I don't get it, but I'll take it. And 16 straight, I hope DiMaggio is on the hot seat. I hope he realizes that seat's heating up a little bit, given how hot Alec Baum is. But really good to see. And, you know, early in the season I kind of felt like the lineup was maybe a bat short
Starting point is 00:22:50 and maybe they had to go get Mike Trout. And, unfortunately, he's dealing with a torn meniscus, but a minor setback for a major comeback. And, you know, you look at the lineup and when Schwarber, Turner, Harper aren't kind of going, do they have enough to sustain the offense? And I think with Boehm kind of getting going, it just lengthens them out just enough to where Harper's kind of struggling right now. Got on base three times tonight, which is good to see.
Starting point is 00:23:21 We'll see what happens with Turner with the injury. Hopefully he's fine. Good to see. We'll see what happens with Turner with the injury. Hopefully he's fine. But when Turner and Boehm are going and Schwarber's able to mix in a home run or a single and you kind of wait on Harper to get going, that's the lineup starts averaging, you would think, like five-plus runs a game. And seeing Boehm develop into this in front of our eyes is really, really good
Starting point is 00:23:46 because they need it. Alec Boehm's a Philly, and I think there's something to being homegrown and coming through the system and appreciating that jersey more than when you're brought in from the outside. It's funny. As soon as Aiden Miller seemed like he was gaining some prospect steam, by the way, I think he got in today into the Baseball America Top 100 at number 79, and it was 3-for-3 with some hits tonight.
Starting point is 00:24:12 Again, good problem to have. But regardless, as soon as he kind of started getting some buzz, bang, Alec Boehm's like, all right, you know what, I will do it. I will start driving the baseball and driving in runs. You know, I couldn't believe, so he set a team record for RBI in a month with 28 in April, which seems so crazy to me because, I mean, Ryan Howard legitimately got into MVP races because of his September in, like, 2008. Like, Ryan Howard was a closer in, you know, 06, 07, 08.
Starting point is 00:24:46 I'm just surprised that he never had more than 28 RBI in a month. But man, Alec Boehm is on a pretty, pretty ridiculous streak. This is the final out, sponsored by Regency Furniture. Affordable, never looks so good. Jack Fritz hanging out with you on this Friday night as we close this thing
Starting point is 00:25:01 out and hand things off to Sean Bell. Let's go to Ethan in Flower Town. What's happening, Ethan? Yeah, hey, Jack. I just wanted to talk about Castellanos. I know one of the previous callers was talking about him, and you were mentioning that like a couple weeks, that's when maybe a decision gets made.
Starting point is 00:25:24 But, like, it's been however long now, you know, 30 games in, and he's, like, terrible. What does the change there look like for the team? Like, what does the change look like for, like, a game or for an extended stretch? Oh, just moving on from him. Oh. Yeah. What do you think that would look like yeah and i appreciate the call ethan i just man they would have to it would have to get pretty
Starting point is 00:25:54 bad i would think and i think they would have to be playing pretty bad i i think the phillies right now are essentially in wait and see mode and just kind of hoping that a turnaround is going to come. I mean, there's a lot of times last year where, and I actually thought, I thought the Angels home run was going to be this kind of moment, but I mean, there was a time down in Florida last year, he was really struggling and he caught up to a Robertson curveball, hit it out, and that kind of got him going a little bit.'s just a really really streaky hitter you know again if they were floundering around 500 and he wasn't playing very well and it's approaching the trade deadline and maybe you needed to trade it if you needed to trade a core
Starting point is 00:26:38 player to to shake everyone up a little bit maybe then you do it but i think that right now given that they are playing good baseball they are winning games he's not killing them i mean he's again he's not playing well but he's not like killing the offense i think they're just like waiting for him to hopefully flip a switch here and get going so um you know i listen it looks like it would probably have to take a high-level prospect or a high-ish level prospect to get off that contract and get anything in return. The problem is, I don't know who you're putting out there. Like, I don't think Pache can do it for the long run. Merrifield, I like the role he's in right now.
Starting point is 00:27:23 So, and like there's no one really in the minor leagues. You're not putting Jordan Luplo in there to start in right field, maybe at the trade at the deadline. But as of right now, him getting going is kind of your best option, which is a bit annoying, but at the same time, not the worst thing in the world. Garrett's in North Carolina. What's happening, Garrett? Oh, hey, man. You're right.
Starting point is 00:27:51 I didn't watch the game because I was on Apple TV and listening on WRP. But no, no, no. The reason I say that is because Turner's got to be injured. The way they made it sound is that as soon as the play was over, Turner's pulled. I didn't see anything, obviously. I don't know if you did, but nobody gets that kind of treatment as soon as a play ends. Yeah, and that definitely makes me nervous too, Ethan,
Starting point is 00:28:22 and I agree with you. It was just so weird because he made the play, he came home, he kind of jogged off into the dugout, and it didn't seem like anything was wrong, and then bang, all of a sudden Emundo was out there the next inning. But I agree with you, it's definitely not the best sign. And again, I hope it's precautionary, but yeah, I'm with you. I'm sorry. Do you think that kind of like spurs Harper and JT to step up, start hitting?
Starting point is 00:28:46 You know, I know they've been starting out pretty slow, but, you know, that's kind of a perfect opportunity if Turner goes down for two weeks with a strain or something like that. But, you know, that could be pretty exciting, at least as a, you know, a catalyst or something. Yeah, I mean, I appreciate it. I wouldn't describe it as exciting that Turner's missing time and Harper and JT get going. I kind of think JT is what he is. He's going to be a 250-ish hitter, which is down a little bit with some pop,
Starting point is 00:29:16 but I kind of think this is what we're going to get from him. Harper's going to be fine. I think where I've gotten to with this baseball team is that it comes down to what do you trust and what do you believe in? And it's a nice place to get at, first of all, because it's annoying reacting so harshly to everything going on with them. And Bryce, I just don't really worry about him. He's going to get going on with them. And Bryce, I just don't really worry about him. He's going to get going. He's batting, what, 230 right now? Do I think that's going to be the case in, I don't know,
Starting point is 00:29:55 is that going to be the case in a month? I don't think so. He'll probably be back to 280 and have 15 home runs. So it's coming with Bryce. Someone's going to pay for this slow start. It was good to see him get on base a couple times tonight, but yeah, I just can't really worry about him. And as for Turner, I just hope they pulled him
Starting point is 00:30:12 for precautionary reasons. I agree. Not the best sign that it was immediate and that it was early in the ballgame. It was kind of a coin flip at that point. But I just, you know, until we know more tomorrow, I guess we just kind of have to wait and see with what's going on with the trade. Tomorrow, though, it is a 6.05 start.
Starting point is 00:30:31 Ranger is on the mound, which is always a delight, versus Keaton Wynn, who has had a really good start to the season. The Giants' bats aren't great at all. They are not. But they got some good starters. You know, win goes tomorrow night. Logan Webb on Sunday night. We got a little Sunday night baseball action.
Starting point is 00:30:52 But regardless, he's going against Ranger. And given how much the bullpen was kind of taxed today, would like to see Ranger obviously give them some length. But the nice part about this rotation right now is that you kind of just can't wait to sit down and watch them. I mean, we remember 11, but there's something about a starting staff when they get on a run like this where it's like, well, can this guy do better than the guy before?
Starting point is 00:31:17 They are on a special, special run. Even Nola tonight did not have his best stuff. And man, that second inning was a drag. An absolute drag. But didn't unravel. Didn't totally collapse. And I don't know. It is a really, really
Starting point is 00:31:35 high-level pitching staff. But Keaton went on the mound tomorrow versus Rangers-Swarza. 6-0-5. Obviously all of it here on WIP. That's going to do it for me tonight. Francisco Rojas produced behind the glass, and Sean Bell. He will take you through the rest of the night. Enjoy that.
Starting point is 00:31:53 Go, Phils. And after the Sixers lost in six games, we could use the baseball team having a heck of a summer. Have a good night. Enjoy your weekend. Talk to you Monday here on Sports Radio 94 WIP.
