And they say, wow, what was that? Who's this guy? Get this guy contract. So I know you probably think I'm kidding. I think about being like a like Mike situation all the time where it's just like, oh, today's the day. There it is, 94 from the right side with a little bit of cut. I got 100 from the left side. 97, 100 from the left side, bang. Could have been me. So... You know what? I'm going to go with that one. What? That could have been you. We don't know that it couldn't be.

Now, the problem is... Right? It could have been. The problem is everything I do with my left hand is... It's almost like it doesn't exist. I know, dude. My left hand is impossible. It does nothing.

It serves no purpose. It's so... My left hand is useless. And having a left hand... You know, you might have a left hand kid, you think Walker's definitely left handed, right? Like having a left hand daughter, she's so much better with her right hand than I've ever been with my left hand already,

just because lefties are way more ambidextrous. They can, they can. Also, when I brought up J.P. Howell when talking about Walker, someone threw a Joe Beimel, and I was a huge Joe, so my favorite, my favorite lefty reliever of all time is always gonna be Pedro Feliciano.

Yeah, so mine's always gonna be Real Cormier. It'll just always be Real. May he rest in peace. May he rest. RIP, but like, I just, I loved it. He was like, loved the look, loved the delivery, the seething, the whole thing. Best job in sports. Just a loogie, like he's a real true blue loogie.

You're right. Dude, Marte basically cost him a World Series. He neutralized Howard and Nutley for an entire series.

We never talk about him. No. No. So tomorrow, when you come to the game tomorrow in Reading, you're gonna be like, wow, there's Jack and James. Amazing. And then. Maybe he'll be like that.

And then you're gonna see us on the mound and when you see James, you're gonna say, don't see it. Yeah. And then when I do throw the first pitch, they're gonna say, today could be the day. Today could be the day. So what we're trying to say is, come for history.

Yes. You know, if I can't really wrap it up better than that. Also, and I made this point before, think about it this way too, forgetting Jack and James of it all, but I don't know how you could when it's gonna be Jack's greatest. Zoe's a big fan of saying best day ever,

Like, this is on the table, you know? So that's on the table. Plus, think about it this way. If Aidan Miller, by the way, friend of the pod, Keith Law,

ninth prospect in all baseball, no big deal. Like just, he's top 20 everywhere. I mean, Aidan's legit legit. Which is pretty, like he has not had an unbelievable start in the year of the running. So we're chalking it up to cold weather, obviously. Obviously. Little banged up here and there.

So he'll be fine. You see it if you watch it. You see the mature approach. So looking forward to it. The prospect guys do it and that's what matters. Yeah, I've always said Keith Law knows ball. We've always said it. We've never had any interactions

that were poor with him on the show. No disagreements, you know, whatever. He couldn't have been more wrong about Andrew Painter, but whatever, no big deal. It was actually the McAbel draft. Was it the McAbel draft? Oh yeah. Yes, that's where the whole Keith Law bit started.

No retaliation? So how do you feel? All right, because I know, we all know, you've all listened to this pod. There's nothing you wanted more than Sanchez or Wheeler or Strom or someone yesterday to just go for it. Now Wheeler did hit Nick Allen, like he was not retarded. He didn't do it.

There's no way, there's no way he's hitting the nine hitter with no one on base, like in a Thai baseball game, zero, zero. He's just hitting, he's not hitting the nine hitter. That doesn't send a message. And the guy swung. So like, come on, how do you feel about the whole thing? Like where are you at with the, like, cause you are someone who really wanted them to hit,

and not just wanted them, like you think it's important, you think it's a part of the game, you think it's important that they defend Bryce. How do you feel about them coming out of this series? Well, I just don't want, my big thing is I don't want them to be punked. And I know, I don't think Strider did it on purpose.

I don't either, I really don't. But it's just like, it's always been part of the game, I like it as a part of the game, whatever. Everyone will be fine. So, but once it was four nothing yesterday, six nothing yesterday. Why not at that point, right?

The gladiator. Yeah. That's what I felt like Ronald Acuna. They're putting tigers out there to rip people to shreds. Like, yeah, get him. I know. So kill that guy. Yeah, so I, listen, I was pro hitting someone.

What a game from Marchand. I'm gonna graze the shoelace a little bit. I mean, that throw, we've seen a lot of great catcher throws. You can't throw a ball from catcher to second base more perfectly than Marchand throws. I love watching Marchand throw. Dude, yeah, I love,

cause it almost, it's almost surprising how quick he gets it there, cause when he throws, he kinda has a loopy arm thing almost. It almost feels like he's extending out. You know catchers throw more from like the top, right? It's right by the ear. He almost looks like he's like an infielder when he throws because he gets that arm angle,

but it gets there so quick. And it was literally Scott caught it with his glove on the leg. It was perfect. I know, he's got a hose. He does. Shout out to Ozzy Alves for stealing that situation with the hard line up coming up.

He should be eighth in the line. That's the appropriate place for JT to be. Sure, until he heats back up. Oh, yeah, you expecting that? No. Well, it's funny, we were just talking about like big time home runs and I was like, that dude hitting inside the Parker

in the playoffs at home. It's such a, he was great that play. Remember the game one of the World Series, he has the homer, he has the late double. You used to be able to count on the guy at the plate. Well, so real quick on the 22 run, the funniest part about an inside the park home run in the playoffs is that I don't think

that's even a top 10 moment of that run. That was the point, we went through a name in the biggest, like it was like, oh yeah, the JT inside the park, it was like a throw in. I know. And being there, it was one of the most exciting things I've ever seen live in my life, like go, go, yelling, like it was awesome.

Real music and run for a day. Yeah. I mean, his home run in game one was way bigger. Was way bigger, yeah. Well, and the double was the biggest hit of the game, won them games. But, regardless. Regardless. But Marshawn. He can still play defense and he can still run. He is fast, like, yeah. And Marshawn's splits with the starters is heating up. He's no longer, they're not a disaster when he's behind the plate.

It's a good day. I was just stabbing the right direction. So that's good. I didn't buy the whole, he's like a horrible game caller. I always thought he was fine with it. And it has calmed down the Stubbs meter. Now, I think Stubbs actually is more important to the Iron Pigs right now because of Abel,

because of Painter. Having him up there is more important. And I'm glad that Marsha had the day yesterday. So big stuff from that standpoint. What a great take, by the way. It's mostly non nondescript they don't have another guy in the system that could come up and be a situational lefty. And like, without Rado obviously being down, and Banks is the only other lefty, and besides Strom, they need someone if Strom, God forbid, goes on the I-L.

Or continues to be ineffective. So that was my first thought, is that this might be Strom insurance. Just take a shot on a guy. That has, I guess, decent stuff. I have no idea. I mean, well, let's hope he has decent stuff, because otherwise, I have no idea why he's a filly right now. So yeah.

Like the Snell thing happened, he was like yelling at him, freaking out. This one, it was just like, I am in a ton of pain. Yeah. You know? Yeah, and it's unfortunate because the way he swings, he opens himself up to it. You know, Sputley would just turn his back into it

and take it and it was never really an issue. But Bryce, cause he wants to, obviously, he has to hit home runs and stuff and that's just the nature of his swing he opens himself up to getting hit like that so yeah I think he's someone that he I don't know if he believes too much in the retaliation thing unless it was on purpose and I don't think he thought yeah so I didn't I really don't think it was no then I know second start of the year he's still getting you know and people like showing the graph of, there's that one pitch that's way up and in,

and everything else is in the strike zone. Okay, there's no way, I don't think he was trying to hit him. And there's some situations over the week, or like Sosa got hit on a one-two pitch, and people go, oh, there it is. You're not gonna hit on a one-two pitch. I know, I know.

Well, that's like when people were like, oh, he hit Nick Allen on purpose. It's like, he's not hitting Nick Allen to make a message. Like, forget the situation that it's the nine hitter in a zero-zero game with the top of the line coming up next. Forget even that, which makes it nonsensical. Like, if Zach Wheeler's sending a message,

he's sending a freaking message, not hitting the worst hitter. Like, that's crazy. Yeah, yeah. So, it's probably over. But it was a fun, it was a fun fodder for a couple days. It was a fun moment, yeah. And look, I was fine with them not hitting

because I didn't think Strider did it on purpose. If Strider had done it on purpose was fine with them not hitting because I didn't think Schreider did it on purpose. If Schreider had done it on purpose, it would change my perspective, but I really didn't believe he did it on purpose. I'm fine with them not firing back, but I do understand and hope that this isn't something that carries over if there's another situation where a player gets hit,

you know, and they decide not to go again, and there are guys in the club who thought it was on purpose. You know, it could create something where, cause it does, to your point you just made, this feels like topper. This feels like topper's way. This is how we play baseball.

We're not, we're not into that stuff. Like to your initial overall point, and I agree with, like there are situations in baseball where you do have to do something. Even if it's a hit guy, even if it's just pounding inside the zone and push guys back or let them know you're gonna come there. So, pause.

So your face. So I just hope that there isn't any of this that carries forward. Yeah, I just, there's something about like the camaraderie of that situation. That's what I mean, yeah. That I can bring teams together and like the rivalry aspect of it.

So listen, it was a, I felt like an old school. I felt like it was back in the nineties. I got a little bit fired up about the idea of the Phillies and Braves like meeting at the field and like CBP getting on their feet as the Cougna's coming. Oh, come on. Like again, where no one gets hurt, I really could go for a brawl.

It's been a long time. I was thinking about Victorino and Eli Whiteside of the Giants. I was thinking about Corota. What was it, like the nine year anniversary of the Harper Strickland thing was going around, or 10 year, whatever it was, it was all over Twitter yesterday.

It was like, yeah, just go right at him, and it's a brawl, and it's awesome. I know, I know. But hey, games changed. It's true. Games changed. It's all right though. It's all right I know, I know. They won, all right, let's get this. What a bummer of a game two, by the way. Oh my God, I know, especially Wheeler and it just, mm. But the two Wheeler-Sale matchups have been terrible. Disappointing, such a shame. Sale was great yesterday. Sale was really good. Now that was a spring training type lineup by the Phillies.

I mean. Oh, joke lineup. I mean, what are we doing here? I know that Harper's out, but I mean, what are we doing here? That was a big, eh, we got game one. We're all right. Yeah, we got it. Do you think Topper chuckled a little bit

when he put JT in the bottom of him? This'll show. It was a bone in the three hole. Oh, short for batting two. Love it. Tell you what, that lineup without Bryce in it, not great. It's noticeable when Bryce is out. Yeah, it's like, wow, you really are missing something there. You feel it.

You feel it when he's not in there. So what a garbage lineup in game two, but game one, thankfully they won. Now, shots of the Fills, they out to the Phils, you know, they got it to four o'clock, which means wasn't a long Fritz and Ike show yesterday. Oh yeah, good, good, good. Oh man, you did not want to see my face

when Straum allowed that game to be tied. Oh, I'll bet. I don't need to see it, I know it. I know exactly what you look like, yeah. That's like not bad, not bad. We could extend this game a little bit. Oh, buddy. Get us to 410.

Get us to 410. First breaks not to 523. I almost texted Galco when they announced the one o'clock game and just been like, you lucky dog. Nothing better than the midday show, half show out of nowhere. Oh, man. It's the best, it's the best.

So yeah, game one, you know, the Sanchez thing. So I was gonna ask you about it. So I've been pondering this idea for a little bit. So Destiny tweeted out that five out of his last six starts, he has not gone over 90 pitches, which I think is interesting. And my first question is, are they managing his workload or is it game situation? Now what's, are they managing his workload or is it game situation?

Now what's interesting about the managing his workload is that every other starter's pitching. Well, we talked about this last pod. That was one of your concerns, the idea of maybe wearing guys down a little bit because they don't have the bullpen guys they trust to go to. But with Sanchez, they're not really doing that.

And, you know, my thought is, okay, so they obviously need a lefty out of the bullpen. Chris Sanchez. Oh, he did, I mean, he has done it in his career before, whereas other guys other than Ranger haven't. He's already under contract, so you don't have to worry about a Ranger contract situation.

Chris Sanchez is gonna be here. Painter is knocking on the doorstep. Abel could come up tomorrow and be in the starting rotation. So if they need a starter, they'd be fine. If they're- This is galaxy rain, but I get it. If they're already limiting, if they're worried about workload concerns

with Chris Sanchez, Strom, we'll see. He's obviously been super shaky. If they need a left-in, I'm not saying doing it now. You're talking close to the end of the season. Close to the end of the season. Transition. With, if there is a left hand, I'm not saying doing it now. You're talking closer to the end of the season. Closer to the end of the season. Transition. With if there is a plethora of starters and everyone's healthy and Rangers pitching well.

Well that's okay, and Nola doesn't stink and all that. So there's a lot of factors in this. But with Sanchez already on their contract, already throwing a ton of pitches last year, maybe they're wanting to manage him a little bit here. Lazaro's been fantastic, so you can't take him out of the rotation. And also he's never done it too.

Not that that's the be all end all, but it is, you would prefer to have someone who's pitch out of the bullpen, pitch out of the bullpen as opposed to not. And just imagine Sanchez with like 98 with that change up and a slider. I mean, yeah, I mean, his stuff plays out of the bullpen like phenomenal.

Like come in, max stuff for an inning or two. He could be awesome at our bullpen. And in watching- But it's also like, you know. He's your third best starter. Yeah, exactly. So it's a total risk. And last year was your second best and Lizardo, you know.

As long as he can keep it up and not get hurt. Yeah, exactly, agree. And the one thing in watching Sanchez this year is, I just think he's been fighting himself way more. It hasn't been as crisp. You know, his ERA is like 3.1, which is really good, but I feel like it hasn't been as clean as last year. I feel like he struggled early a lot too.

I don't know why, but it feels like he always gets into trouble early in games. And then kind of settles more. The first two innings, shaky. Then he's usually really good in the middle. Yes. And then like there's that sixth where it just gets a little bit shaky. You're right. Has he pitched seven innings in a game maybe once?

He has not really gone deep in the games this year. He's won a hundred and some pitches one time during this stretch. But again, five of his last six starts have been under 90 pitches. So there may be a manage of workload there. So we're all trying to find solutions to how they can have another lefty in the bullpen,

especially with the way Strom's pitching. And that tweet from Destin really did get me thinking of like, what about the idea of putting Sanchez in the pen? Because Sanchez in the pen, I just think that that could be a weapon if they wanted to do it. Like Noel in the bullpen, not a weapon. Range in the bullpen, I know in the past he's been fine,
