All-star closer, Kenley Jansen, we have a question.
What's the best podcast of all time?
Baseball Isn't Boring, baby.
I'm Rob Bradford, and every single day I'm sitting down with the biggest names
to show you this great game is the greatest game.
It's my podcast. It's my passion.
It's a cause I started more than two years ago
and is now the most prolific national daily baseball pod there is.
Another fact, so jump aboard the B.I.B. Express.
Follow and listen to Baseball Isn't Boring,
presented by Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage on the free Odyssey app
or wherever you get your podcasts.
This is the High Hopes Podcast.
High hopes!
It's a bunch of baseball nerds talking about the Phillies
on Odyssey and Sports Radio 94 WIP.
Odyssey and Sports Radio 94.
W.I.P.
Oh, it is another edition of the High Elms podcast sponsored by Miller Lite, the official sponsor of the Philadelphia Phillies.
Tastes like Miller time.
Philadelphia celebrate responsibly.
And like, we're going to talk some baseball.
Not a ton.
I can't go too long today.
It's all my fault.
Jack could go all day.
Well, maybe not all day.
We'll get to that.
But honestly, the main reason we're recording right now is thanks to Miller Lite in general
because we want you to come hang out with us tomorrow night.
We're going to talk about this series in a minute.
But at the beginning of this pod, at the end, I'm the worst.
I bury the lead always. What a pro. Come hang out with us tomorrow night we're going to talk about this series in a minute but at the beginning of this pun at the end i'm the worst i bury the lead always what a pro come hang out with us tomorrow
night we're going to be at the green parrot in newtown uh we're going to watch phil's padres
we're going to get there at 7 30 uh uh there's drink specials $3.50 like miller lights uh i'm
going to be doing phil's trivia jack here i won't i won't show anyone, but I do have... You can see it, because we can see each other.
Can I get one question?
Yeah, okay.
It says, fillers trivia for Miller Lite.
I'm not sure if you can see it with the light, but that's what it says.
Did you purposely say fillers trivia, or no?
Fillies.
I screwed up speaking, but I wrote it correctly.
Fillers for...
Hold on.
Fillers for Miller.
Uh-oh. Hello. Soer oh hello so many ideas so
many ideas this is good these are how things happen all right um i will give you what i would
say is a uh a pretty easy question not i would say like not easy,
easy,
but definitely not hard.
Okay.
If nothing else,
I think you could figure it out.
All right,
ready?
Here we go.
It's,
and it's somewhat related to your guy doc.
All right.
Roy holiday was the all-star game starter in 2011.
Who was the last Philly prior to him as a pitcher to start the all-star game?
Believe that was
Schilling?
Hey!
Is the kind of stuff we'll give tomorrow night.
And oh, by the way, three pairs
of Phillies tickets to give out to some
trivia winners at the Green Parrot
in Newtown, which is an awesome place.
I went to high school in Newtown, like right
down the street from the Green Parrot.
I've been there numerous times.
Did you ever skip class and go down there or no?
So not to the Green Parrot because, you know, I was underage at the time.
I did eat at the Green Parrot, though, when I was underage.
I ate there, but it wasn't like skip school and go to the Green Parrot.
Well, I thought when you were in high school, the drinking age was 18.
Oh, there it is.
There it is.
I walked right into that.
I didn't even see it coming.
I'm not in.
I need to get on my game here.
All right.
But look, it's an awesome place.
Great food, great drinks, and we'll be watching the film.
So come hang out with us.
It's going to be a lot of fun.
All right.
We'll get back to that.
Say it again at the end.
Fritzy.
Split.
You know, you said it.
You were happy with it.
It's all right.
The split.
You live with a split. let you live with a split.
You always live with a split.
You just can't get, you can't lose three or four.
So that's all that matters.
Yeah.
It was an annoying way to get to a split.
Can we agree game three, whatever Wednesday would be the most annoying,
frustrating, whatever you want to call it, loss of the season.
Like in my opinion.
And it led to a good old-fashioned freakout on the final out.
Oh, buddy.
I mean, I had – hold on.
My notes were so mean.
It was such a – it was like a – it was a gauntlet that I threw down.
So here is my opening stuff.
Everything that happened on Wednesday night.
I thought it was Rob Thompson's worst game of the year.
You had the lineup the night before against Andrew Abbott,
who's more of a soft-tossing lefty.
To just sit Stott and Marsh nights in a row bothered me.
Back-to-back games is crazy.
Bothered me to no end.
Especially Marsh.
Especially Marsh.
Stott has been struggling a bit.
You could maybe argue it, but it's inexcusable.
If you want to sit them against Lodolo, I get it.
Not against Abbott and not two games in a row.
So that bothered me.
Taking Turnbull out after 89 pitches when you're moving him to bullpen anyway
annoyed me.
Like, what's the point?
Just let him go air it out.
Marsh not hitting for Pache with runners on first and third
and Lucas Sims on the mound.
They got bailed out by Rojas.
Not getting Sir Anthony earlier
when it was obvious
he didn't have it.
I'll give him a,
I gave him a pass
on no JT in the eighth
versus Suter
instead of letting Garrett Stubbs hit
because he'd probably want to
give him the full day off.
And then,
that was Rob Thompson.
And then,
the bad baseball I played
drove me nuts too.
Turner breaking on a first
and third play too early.
Like,
you're one of the best
base runners in the sport.
You know that situation
over and over again.
He got faked out, Jack.
He got faked out. What are we, in Little League?
That's exactly right. And also,
I mean, honestly, he kind of deserves for
his stolen base streak to end that way.
Because you know what? That was so dumb.
Even though it's not a classic stolen base
and it sucks that it ended that way, he kind of deserves it.
It was so dumb.
Back-to-back games, Boehm not making the stretch at first
properly. That drove me nuts.
And also, Boehm getting thrown
out at second earlier in that
game after Turner did steal
second and scored. That was frustrating, too.
Rojas, bad route on the
De La Cruz double, and so is the strike going out
with runners on third, less than two outs.
So that was like, how annoying.
That just came off the top of my head of things
that drove me nuts about Wednesday's game.
Good thing is they bounced back Thursday.
They did.
I mean, well, you know, the whole momentum is as good
as your next starting pitcher.
It's nice when that pitcher is Zach Wheeler.
Nice that they're starting to win some games for Zach Wheeler.
And also, like, I think it probably was the easiest bet of the year.
I didn't even think to
make it but Bryce Harper Homer in the first day back after having a kid like of course he just
that's like he did it last night it's just like his you know it's it's so on brand and it was it
was nice Jack because the the you know they had the seven game winning streak but obviously six
of those wins against the two worst teams in baseball and take the worst team I've ever seen.
But,
um,
you know,
the Reds are a fine team.
They're not a great team,
but they're,
they're a capable team that,
that theoretically with the talent they have at,
you know,
could compete for a division,
their division,
probably not,
but could,
um,
you know,
that was after stumbling in those two,
you come in,
you handle business.
And then to stumble in those two and have that Wednesday loss to win it
five, nothing and just handle business was nice yeah and i think wheeler
was a little bit shocked that he got so much run support he's like oh wow what am i supposed to do
with this i know and he really just had one bad inning and i think that was because the last the
inning before the half inning before was so long that it took one little while to get back into
rhythm but he also like really like uh he
really grinded it out when it was first and third no outs he had back-to-back strikeouts like that's
what that's why he's an ace it didn't have his like best best stuff you know it was more like a
b b plus performance from zach wheeler even though in back-to-back starts he's only allowed hits to
the eighth hitter which is hilarious he's allowed two hits in his last two starts, each to
the 8th hole hitter. So he is in a
pretty good rhythm.
And I just,
that splitter is such an equalizer for him.
It feels like he lost a
bit of the feel on his sweeper
in that red start, but when you have
a pitch like the splitter, which he has not had in his
arsenal the last couple years, it just makes
him that much tougher to go up to go up against so feel very happy feel very content with my
zach wheeler cy young bet but i will say i mean rangers nipping on his heels man buddy buddy i
mean it is i mean this pitching staff so far has been it's the best start to a season for a staff that that i remember i mean
certainly since the you know 11 10 days with those guys like man every single guy and i know sanchez
struggled on tuesday you know it's gonna happen but you know i mean turnbull turnbull is going to
the bullpen currently as the era leader in major Major League Baseball for qualified starters.
He has a 1-3-3 ERA.
Oh, who's second?
Ranger at 1-3-6.
Who's like fourth or whatever he is?
Zach at 1-9, whatever he is.
Like, it is, it's absurd.
It is absurd what this outside of NOLA day two
and a couple like Christopher Sanchez's
that are kind of like this,
like they haven't had a bad start from this team.
It's like,
you can count on six innings of two or less or whatever minimum from this
group.
And again,
I know the competition and that's what we talked about.
Take advantage of it.
The competition hasn't been,
you know,
the toughest,
stiffest,
but I just,
that's why I keep an end. Look, the bats have gotten going and we're, stiffest, but I just, that's why I keep, and, and look, the bats have gotten going
and we're, you know, we're going to get to something I'm at my wits end about. And I think
everyone is, but I think from a pitching perspective, you just have to be ecstatic.
I think the only thing from pitching perspective, and I'm, I'm skipping to the, and we don't,
we all know how we feel about Turnbull and Walker. It is what it is. And, and, you know,
we'll see how that shakes out with, with ultimately if Walker sucks enough,
Turnbull will be back in the rotation, whatever the, I think the biggest issue right it is what it is and and you know we'll see how that shakes out with with ultimately if Walker sucks enough term will be back in the rotation whatever the I think the biggest issue right now is what you alluded to before uh Sir Anthony not having it again if you're looking at
the full staff I think you know I think look it it's helped by the fact that Kirk rings back and
just is like yep I'm nasty I'm good you know he looks great you're two innings the other night
but you know Sir Anthony and two-thirds. Innings and two-thirds.
Excuse me.
I meant to say multiple, like more than an inning.
And I went.
It's okay.
You know.
I was up late last night.
You're running on fumes.
I can tell.
You know when I go like this.
Fillers for Millers, man.
Fillers for Millers.
But ultimately, like, where are we at with Sir Anthony?
Because we keep coming on and being like, oh, the velocity is there.
It was not.
And it was not there.
And he has just struggled.
Yeah.
So where I'm at with Sir Anthony is to save him from being the next Brogdon.
They have to set, like, I would set him down.
Wow, over a Phantom IL?
Phantom IL, send him down.
Either one is fine with me.
I just think he needs, he needs, my fear is that he's in his own head.
And I don't think keep putting him out there is going to be the best thing for Sir Anthony.
I thought I saw that in the, like he he was terrified to throw a slider
i mean the at bat to stevenson where i mean he was just it was either going to be a rope
damn third baseline or what happened which is i mean somehow johan ross almost caught that ball
which was ridiculous but ridiculous it made it look so much closer than it should have been even
you know but there he was still all over it i mean's all over it. He's waiting for the fastball.
So it's a good fastball.
It just can't be his only pitch,
and it feels like it's his only pitch.
So Phantom IL sent him down.
The reason why I'd probably opt for sending him down
is so he can just work on the slider
because apparently, according to the broadcast,
they're working on a new slider with him,
and at least he did throw it for strikes when he threw it,
but he clearly had no confidence in throwing it
and if you if you don't have confidence in throwing a pitch
it's going to get shelled i mean there's there is
the it's the oldest thing it's the thing that you get taught as a
incredibly young pitcher is throw everything with conviction because if
you don't you're going to second guess yourself and
it's going to be flat and it's going to get ripped so i do like that caleb gotham clear clearly clearly
listened to the last podcast and said okay challenge accepted i will fix his slider
like it's you know it's what it has to what had to happen so thanks, Kalen. But he was down to 94. I just think he is on the verge of losing a lot of his confidence.
So I would send him down.
If you want a fan of mine, just get him right,
and maybe he can get on the Alvarado track from a couple years ago.
We've seen this kind of stuff before.
Totally.
So I just – and with Kirkering back, with Hoffman, with Marte,
if you want to bring up Mercado,
they've started to stretch him out a little bit.
Even, I mean, Turnbull is going to be in the bullpen.
Oh, yeah, he'll be on the roster.
They're not sending that guy to the minors, yeah.
So, like, in the meantime, just go down and let Sir Anthony get right
because I think they're on the verge of losing him.
Yeah, I think I got nothing to add.
I couldn't agree more.
And we've seen him you know
he is he can get in his head you know we've seen him go through these stretches where it's clear
he doesn't trust his stuff and and he doesn't feel confident out there and and let's be honest
you know he hasn't looked elite consistently since the end of 2022 and even then he was struggling
going in the playoffs we're like uh-oh what's for anthony are we gonna get and then you know
through the world series was, you know,
probably their best reliever, even him and Alvarado.
But even, you know, through the end, probably him in 2022.
And since then has not come close to that guy outside of a couple flashes.
All right, speaking of leaving a guy in or not leaving a guy in,
let's flip it over.
I mean, I don't think there is any bigger thing with this team
frustrating me angering me annoying me perplexing me like we don't hurt i came so close to saying
the actual wtf but i'll say w come tired guys wtf is nick castellanos in the lineup every day
is he not betting eighth or ninth why is he still just rolled out lineup every day. Is he not batting eighth or ninth? Why is he still just rolled out every day?
Why are you not giving him two days off, a week off?
Like, whatever.
I mean, he, we talked early in the season about like Rojas,
can this guy hack it?
And obviously he's been, what a great job he's done.
And we talked about last pod, you know, some big hits,
looks confident at the plate.
But like Nick Castellanos looks like rojas looked at the beginning of the
year but he's looked like it all season long except for like a game where he hit a triple jack
like i am like he is the from from where he was when we signed him from whatever that year was 2021
that that season he had in 2021 to now like it's a monumental like just as a player watching them and it's like
usually that'll happen from like 35 to 37 or 33 35 not from like 28 29 whatever to 31 it's crazy
so i have a theory and i i want you to i want you to listen up and I hope that everyone out there is also
listening up.
A little patronizing to be like, listen up,
like kiddies, but I like it. Go ahead.
Maybe
they're trying to get him to break the Ripken streak.
I mean...
Honestly, it's as good an explanation
as anything
they want to take down a Ripken streak
he's probably
just so close
yeah I mean
I bet you if he played
straight for the next like
20 something years he might get there
yeah I mean listen you don't want to take
when a guy is on a streak like this
when he's chasing down one of the
unbreakables you don't want to take him out of the on a streak like this when he's chasing down one of the the unbreakables
you don't want to take him out of the lineup you just can't let production matter like honestly
he could just go out and strike out five times a game and it's like all right eat it doesn't matter
doesn't matter so i have no like and i get i get you you trust, not trust him.
That's the wrong word.
You get not benching him.
You get not, I get it.
Like maybe you give, I don't get not giving him a day off,
but you get not taking him out of the lineup.
But how is he not betting in with every day?
Well, he bet at fourth, which is hilarious the other night.
It was unbelievable.
It was the crazy, that lineup, obviously,
everyone complained about and rightfully so.
That was the craziest part about it.
Like he's the worst hitter on the team by a mile whit merrifield has lapped him like
he is a disaster offensively man no and i just it's it's annoying it feels like they're just
catering to him because they paid him a ton of a ton of money yes they kind of they seem a little
afraid of him which is annoying because at the same time, he wants to play 162 is what the thing was.
Okay.
Is that really what it was?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I'm sure Marsh wants to play 162.
Who even cares?
Are you kidding me?
I want to play 162.
Oh, my God.
You're right.
They're catering.
That's crazy, though.
We're trying to win a World Series here.
The Braves are freaking 17-6 or whatever the hell they are.
What are we doing, Jack?
So here's the direct quote that Gale wrote.
This was after Tuesday night.
Tuesday night?
The Phillies will not sit Castellanos like they did Rojas.
You know, just keep going, Phillies manager.
Rob Thompson said, he'll find it.
Castellanos wants to play
162. The team is willing to
defer to the right fielder within reason
because it knows not to
disrupt certain ideas that enter
Castellanos' head.
The Phillies have not reached an uncomfortable
territory with Castellanos. How?
I don't know. It would take
weeks more of no production to
prompt those discussions dude you're right like when you hear that it sounds like they're terrified
of him yeah and they are scared to tell him hey Nick you can't play 162 man you're the worst hit
on the team you are a a disaster every time you step to play.
Shove him in the nine hole, the eight hole, whatever.
It is crazy, Jack.
Honestly, that is some of the crazier quotes I remember
that just have flown under the radar that no one's talking about.
They're just like, all right, Nick, whatever the hell you want.
Oh, you don't want to hit?
Sure.
Nope.
Don't worry about it, man.
Why don't you strike out every time?
It's cool.
We love you, buddy.
Thank God you're playing a gold glove right field.
Wow.
You made a big catch at the wall yesterday.
Yeah.
So take that.
He's a fine right fielder.
He is not Johan Rojas, who's hitting a million times better.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry.
The thing that's frustrating me the most with the Phillies right now
is Nick Cassianos.
I know the Turnbull-Walker thing is right there too,
but I'm so annoyed right now.
He has reached – Cassianos has reached dependently bad.
He's always there.
Dependably bad, yeah.
Yeah, dependably bad.
Yeah, he's there.
But he posts, man.
He posts.
He does. Hey, he's like the all-time
innings eater am i right great i love having an innings eater as my uh on a team that's trying
to win the world series yeah so i guess i it's like what you get in like in like in like triple
a you're like oh we need a guy to play third base for us who's kind of like a minor league vet and could be like an orga guy type thing.
Like, what are we doing here?
It seems like their strategy.
It seems like their strategy with Nick Castellanos is just praying.
Yeah.
It's like he'll figure it out, maybe.
Well, because he was so bad at a point last year,
and then he just flipped a David Robinson curveball out,
and it kind of got him going, and it seems like they're just begging that to happen.
And, I mean, he did have a couple hits yesterday, so maybe he's heating up,
but, yeah, to not even give him a day is insane to me.
Yeah.
But you'll sit Stott and march back to games.
March the best hitter
on your team
other than,
you know,
superstar Trey Turner.
Thank God we have the guy.

Like, how can you sit March 2 days?
How can you justify in any world of baseball? I
don't care if Randy Johnson is on the mound, that you're going to sit Brandon Marsh in any game this
year over Nick Cassianos is like, it's it's wanting to lose. It is like saying I don't want to put the
best team that I can on the field today.
It really is mind-blowing stuff.
I know you've got to manage egos and stuff,
but at a certain point, we're
22 games in, 23 games in.
What the hell's happening here?
You'll figure it out.
We're more than that in.
We are 26 games in.
Thank you. We're 26 games in.
By the way, I called for a 20-win month.
I mean, we're at 16 right now.
Dude.
Not bad.
No, they're handling business.
Just get to 18.
I'll take an 18-win opening month.
Yeah, especially while we're going to the West,
and we know how historically it's not always the best.
I heard you on the morning show today.
Can I tell you this? not always uh oh yeah i heard you on the uh urge on the morning show today i you know can i can i
tell you this i did that for you because i'm always on here being mr like no we're gonna sweep
them or oh you what are you saying this whatever i tried to be super real there for you because i
because you will be real like that here and i did that for you because i couldn't be disingenuous
i'm like if i'm being honest i think
we'll win one of these games yeah we live hey live with one and one and two one and two on the on in
on the west coast yes please i guess they 500 pod racing yeah by the way i'm it's way too i don't
like i don't love checking the standings really until like september so like you could ask me
any record and i would probably have no idea like i don't i don't really look other than the white socks three and whatever
because they've still only won three games yes it's it's pretty hard to not know that one but
but it is quite fulfilling that the diamondbacks are two games under 500 are they i didn't notice
that that's good the whole division's struggling right uh yeah
i mean like the the dodgers are only 16 and 11 padres are 500 don and baxter 12 yeah look at that
wow giants are 12 and 14 so phillies are better than dodgers right now it's just like is there
anything more annoying than looking up and being like oh oh who's got the best record in baseball
of course now i guess it's the Indians, the Guardians, actually.
But it's them and that.
Actually, I don't know.
I guess it's 17-6 better than, yeah, no, they did.
The Braves have the best record in baseball still.
Well, 18-7 is probably better than 17-6.
Well, it's a question of what you want more,
the extra win or win percentage.
By win percentage, the Braves are better.
Oh, yeah, the win percentage is a little bit better.
Yeah, so, but again, it's just so annoying.
Like, Spencer Schreier, it's like, all right, they just,
it's a very frustrating. Like, Spencer Schreier, it's like, all right, they just,
it's a very frustrating thing, this Braves.
And again, look, all that matters is at the end of the day,
we win in the playoffs like we keep doing,
and we're in their head and all that.
But like, it's like, could you just like,
chill out a little bit?
Yeah, like give me like a week of bad baseball or something.
You know?
Have the Braves ever had an under 500 10-game sample?
Dude, the Braves have been winning divisions every year of my life, man.
Since I was 10 years old, the Braves have been winning divisions.
Almost literally almost every year of my life, feels like you know like it's not besides
besides besides our five little year run exactly it is nuts like it is it's crazy to only have to
only have one world series is pretty embarrassing too well too sorry now yeah but i agree to only
get the one with that whole run in 95 to only get that one was it was hard to do hard who would you
which brave team would you rather have this current version of the brave team or that current
that brave team oh wow i mean can you imagine if you put the two together and you took that
pitching staff with this offense i mean that offense also had andrew jones and jim i know
and jiver jones and fipper Jones and Fred McGriff
back in the day and like so many dudes who came
through I mean Terry Pendleton won an MVP
in 1991 in that offense
which is insane
but yeah yeah it's annoying man
it's annoying and is there anyone
less likable in the sport than Marcelo Zuna
like I hate that he's
good again like that he's just kicking ass in Atlanta
like I hate that guy he's so annoying I hate that he's good again. Like, that he's just kicking ass in Atlanta. Like, I hate that guy.
He's so annoying.
They have to be cheating.
I hate him.
They have to be.
They're certainly cheating in some financial way,
giving these guys, like, some sort of, like, stuff, money on the side,
so they sign these absurd contracts to stand under the tax and all that.
Anyway.
Let's get to what you got going on later tonight.
You got a big thing happening.
One of my best friends is getting married,
which means, and he's a high-ups listener,
so I don't think he's probably not listening to it today.
I would hope you are not listening to this.
What's his name?
Tommy.
Tommy.
Congratulations, buddy.
That's awesome.
Please don't be hearing this on your wedding day.
Yeah, so I think I'll be clear.
I think I'll be in the clear when
it comes to this but yes i'm giving uh the best man speech tonight and never given one before
and yeah it's fine i think you're gonna do great yeah well so what i did for a living so what i did
was i just made it a top five that is hilarious and great and on brand and that and he's a listener to the you know that's
so fun that's really good i think that's that's great so then i i uh shout out to my best friends
since first grade teddy uh still still friends best friends um so i guess that's uh first grade
seven i'm so old jack i known him for 35 years or whatever.
At his wedding,
We Insert the Fire was our favorite song
when we were young in second, third grade
when we started getting into music and we learned all the words
together and I could still sing all the words
on set.
Classic Seltzer fact.
Classic Seltzer fact. Harry Truman, Dara's Day,
Johnny Johnny. Anyway,
I rewrote we didn't start
the fire uh his wife lane awesome love lane chat lane neither of them listen actually he does like
high hopes he's a mets fan but he listens because he's my buddy so teddy if you're listening hey
but at his wedding i rewrote the words to we didn't start the fire to teddy and lane forever
and i sang it acapella.
So, and it was like such a big risk,
but it like, it worked out really well. Like it ended up being like really, really good.
And everyone was just like,
wow, you got some freaking brass ones, man.
So it like worked out really well,
but it was definitely like an intimidating moment.
But if you can nail the best man speech, man,
people remember it for years.
It's great.
I see. I'm not see i'm not i'm
not going for a big old risk take no i know i know you're you're yeah you're gonna get in i'm
a get in get out guy yeah although i i do have a line that i think is funny but i'm not sure
everyone's gonna love it so that's that's my big risk. You just need some people. Can you have some plants ready to laugh at it?
Because if some people start laughing, other people will join in.
Because that's the thing, kind of the secret with the best man speech.
Especially if you're friends with a lot of people at the wedding.
Everyone wants you to do well.
No one wants you.
No matter what job, look at him bomb.
No one wants that. It's awkward. No one likes it. Like no one wants you like no matter what job, but look at a bomb. Like no one wants that.
It's awkward.
No one likes it.
Like everyone's rooting for you.
So like,
I think you have a,
a more like a friendlier crowd,
a crowd that's a little bit more likely to laugh at something.
If you expect them to,
you know what I mean?
So I'm taking,
I don't think he's,
he's going to listen.
So what I'm planning on doing,
Oh,
you're just going for it.
I like this.
This is great.
Is that number four is gonna be is gonna be like uh things you need to know about tommy is the top five and i'm gonna i'm gonna start it off by saying now tommy you're what like
six three two hundred some pounds like strong strapping young man and he'll say yeah yeah and
i'll be like the third the fourth thing you need to know about Tommy
is there's not an athletic bone in his body.
Did you make one varsity team in high school?
You played all the sports, but you didn't make any of them.
So then I realize, so if no one laughs, which I think I'll get laughs,
because I think I delivered in a way to get a laugh,
I'm going to say, it's okay, it's Don's fault, his dad.
So then i'll
rip don bang bang it's good one only thing i will say and i'm sure you have this because you're a
smart man uh and maybe it's a number one or whatever but definitely have something about
the bride in there as well yeah about like yeah you know you know what you're total bro you know
total bro you know all right um speaking of total pro, shout out to Miller Lite

that the miller light for phil's wins thing has just become like part of the the what we do like
it's like that was just out of your brain and then now it's like on the paper that we read to do the
reads and stuff like inside baseball here obviously but it's a baseball pod and you know we love the
high hopes listeners and you've been with us through a long time, back when Philly sucked and all that stuff.

Well, yeah, it's just, there's no thought up here.
Like, it just kind of spews out.
And if it's funny and people like it that usually works out
well so yes miller lights for phil's wins miller's for fillers miller's for fillers yeah we gotta
work on that figure something out listen there's something there there's something there yeah yeah
filler for miller something like that maybe i'm good yeah all right so oh oh speaking of which uh check out the uh alex coffee uh piece about aiden miller
um it is uh it's really good and uh maybe some uh some shout outs in there well yeah so it's
it's really good right but i mean she did leave out some big quotes so yeah there was a a big
quote in there that was supposed to be in there that was we can't say because you know
that's not our role but you know there was there was a quote in there you know it's just for you
