Hello and welcome back to Althea the Dragon Empire.
The battle against Rexenath Oregon.
Xanthius' brother continues.
It has been full of ups and downs.
Rexnath, a clearly powerful, strong opponent,
able to use incredible martial skill,
but also now having crown steel abilities unlocked
without the anti-magic field.
However, thanks to some powerful healing by Gruff and Malady,
the party have managed to weather through the storm.
the storm.
And thanks to Xanthius, a powerful counter spell
saving Sister Benedicta and likely Sister Malady
at the same time.
A very powerful move indeed.
As we jump back into the battle,
Sister Benedicta, who I believe is pretty much
out of pretty much everything.
As a bonus action, she will cast warding bond on Malady.
which will give Malady resistance,
but it means Benedicta takes half the damage
that Malady takes.
Didn't she do that the last turn?
Oh, that's right, she did a held action,
so she would have done that already, yes,
so that's already on, in that case,
she will do a healing word on Malady instead.
Great.
Thank you for the reminder.
As a reminder of the state of the battlefield.
You do that while I roll, Thomas.
We've got Rex and Ath in the middle of
Ophelia, Xanthius and Graff,
and also an animated net.
Oh yeah.
Then 10 feet away behind the net and Xanthius is Benedicta.
Much further back is Malady.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the battlefield,
a tense war rages on between a marksman.
Shadow marksman.
Rowan and Daisy.
Rowan's blind.
And also, at the bottom of the map.
Rodry's here.
Rodry's here.
Well, Rodry's just like, I think he's moved on.
He's like chewing some grass.
He's having the lights going on.
People at Wimbledon just watching blasts of fire.
He's no, he doesn't watch that.
He's eating grass.
He's eating grass.
I'm like the idea that he's taking advantage of us being busy.
He's eating the stew.
Oh.
He's like made his weight and knocked out over.
He could one tongue that entire.
It was a vegetable stew so he would probably eat it.
Yeah, he's doing that.
Right, the healing.
The healing word is not the greatest healing spell in the world,
but it is enough, it's something.
It's in hearts, right?
Malady has to use a reaction to do that.
Yeah.
So, but she will just make two great sword attacks
against her X-Nath,
and try, kind of, you brute, you corrupted heretic,
kind of slamming the great sword down.
First attack is, he's going to hit and is unpariable.
No, it's not, and I keep forgetting to use his thing,
so he will parry that.
Cool, you guys keep rolling crits against him.
So he parries her first attack,
but then her second attack does also hit
and can't parry it.
So she's gonna get the strike off,
not the greatest damage, that's gonna be 12 points of damage,
half, so six.
as he's resistant to these strikes from his berserker-like state,
as he is just in a frenzied attack now.
But she does manage to get at least a small strike through.
It is then Rexanath's turn.
Now, as you can currently see, my fate pool is empty,
and your fate pool is full.
He has a trait fated enemy,
which means that he basically takes some of your fate in that classic way.
It's only the one point,
so I just get one little tasty point.
That's really good news of behavior.
It's going to be a few turns before building up
another soul.
A black sole flame.
Yeah, maybe he's not gonna do that anymore.
He's got other things he can do.
He's got other things he can do.
He does, however, have attacks right now.
Oh, goodness me, everyone's very annoying.
Good gosh.
He doesn't like any of you.
That's fine.
That's rude.
Annoying in what way.
Um, I think.
Wee, we, we, we, we, we.
Yeah, like that.
He's advanced against you, doesn't he?
So I think he's gonna do the exact same thing.
Ah, but then Xanthius is right there as well.
The Nets there too.
A nut.
A nut, yeah, a net.
Which isn't representing.
For POSCard listeners, there's a pause there because Mara just gave a look to drop.
Oh, who do I attack?
A loving look, I think.
There was no love in that look.
There was a kiss as well.
Mix signals.
I think he's going to do something similar.
He's going to put his spear in one hand.
Actually, no, he's cool in that.
He kind of like shoves the spear in the ground, brings out the battle axe.
He's going to use the battle axe against Xanthias.
So he's going to make an attack against Zanthia.
Is this the strength save thing as well?
This will be a con save if he hits you.
Which he might do.
No, he won't.
For 23.
Yeah.
Warden's G2.
You're gonna intercept it?
Yeah.
Okay, so you're gonna take this instead.
Told you.
He's two-handing this now.
Pretty cold, dude.
I'm getting too used to Daddy taking these hits for you.
You are.
One day Daddy's not gonna be there.
Daddy two, that is.
Daddy too, yeah.
That is gonna be 17 points of slashing damage, Gruff,
and I need a constitute.
saving throw from you.
13. 13, you're knocked prone.
Yep.
And then...
Is it prone? Do I get a...
No?
Oh, you would have had advantage.
Yes, sorry, I forgot Armour of Oak and Thorne.
Oh, a lot better.
18, 19, 20, 21, 22.
Stand me back up, please.
That is your reaction used.
There's two more attacks.
Anoid that you've kind of intercepted it.
He's going to try and do the same thing against Zanthias.
That is going to be a...
He had friends.
This might not.
That's a 19.
19 is my AC.
Don't want reaction?
I can't.
Oh.
Because I kind of, camera spell.
That's right.
Any subsequent attacks will go to me.
Oh, huge.
I didn't know it was every attack.
George.
Please do remind me of that, that does change my techniques.
I will still do the attack against you.
If it was a nine, I don't know if you want to re-roll,
but if it was a 19, it doesn't hit.
That's right, because it uses the same attack roll on Warden's duty, doesn't it?
In that case, yes, I will.
and we'll redo it because if he knows that you're basically blocking,
he wouldn't have attacked Zanthis yet.
Yeah, so I didn't see that.
In that case, he will switch back to his spear stab at Ophelia behind him.
Yeah.
Because he has advantage.
His sovereign, like, Dad 3.
Not a crit, but it is a 30 to hit.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm Dad 3.
I'll do it.
And then Obsidius is just Daddy.
Different category, but.
Only, you know it from the time.
Oh, he has advantage against two.
Yeah.
Daddy. Daddy. I've got... Daddy.
35, so 34 goes to 17 points of damage to you.
Say it.
Oh, he's so annoying.
Yeah, I guess he just attacks a feeder again
because he's got the advantage.
Yeah, may as well.
It's the same thing, 30 to hit.
And then I just do all the damage to this time.
So, ugh, terrible.
Not getting hit.
Yeah.
I want to.
The more we get hit, the more Xanthius isn't getting hit.
17, 25, so 24 and 12.
Points of damage.
And yeah, that's it.
Annoyingly with Gruff blocking his way to Xanthius,
he strikes out Ophelia, who is the next best target.
And yeah, that is going to be his ton.
He does get all of his reactions back, and all of his fate actions reset.
But he does only have the one point of fate.
How you feel now, Ophelia?
now, Fadio.
Daisy.
Oh, hello.
We sand this afterwards.
I'm going to bonus action change
Lumeros into a sword.
Oh, perfect.
And I'm going to stab this.
Shadow guy.
Perfect.
I say shadow.
They are shadowy, but they are not made of shadow.
They are like magical force.
They've got like organs?
I'm also not going to use my movement
on this attack, so I'm going to use
the advantage.
Steady aim.
Steady aim.
Yeah, perfect.
and just get advantage for funsies.
23 to hit.
Hits.
Those looking.
Sexy.
Kind of bloodied.
Two bit out of tooth.
One of these ugly teeth.
No, he's even sexier.
Now that you've got that ugly tooth gone.
Damn, sir.
31 points.
31 points of damage.
Jeez.
The sword slams into this marksman who kind of
of reacts, you know, trying to defend himself
dealing a heavy, heavy blow.
Does not take him out, though, unfortunately.
Dang it.
This one was barely injured by the others in the fight.
D-ie! Okay.
Are they dead?
Not yet.
Okay.
End of turn, I'm not gonna take a fake action,
so Xantheus.
I would like to use an arcane vigor on myself, please.
Okay.
Which is my big heel ability.
Your self-heal.
That only heals myself.
which I'm casting at third level,
which means I can burn four hit dice.
I'll do that afterwards, but four hit dice,
which are D6s will be burned.
That's a bonus action to do that, it's a spell slot.
I will, secondary to that, I want to use a shocking grasp
on the river wrecks.
And because it's a spell, oh, let me just tick down.
I have four turns left of my...
You have advantage?
I have advantage on this.
I still have minus two for my exhaustion.
So, okay.
I have minus two, but it'll be troubling.
19.
19 would hit him, but he has his reaction back.
He is going to parry away or strike.
Sensing the electric shock coming.
He almost uses the spear to sort of redirect you
so that you kind of launch past him.
Yeah. I mean, I wanted to burn his reaction
with shock and grasp anyway, so that works out.
Mindery does have two reactions.
Yeah, I know. Either way.
Burned one of them, that's fine.
And I will still stand my ground here.
Between me and Net, we will defend.
Okay.
Do not fear Net.
Net is on your side.
Oh, no, it's a reaction from Melody.
I was going to ask about the heel boost from Melody's thing.
Yeah, well, no, it's a reaction on her part.
There is like passive effects,
but I don't think that they've triggered just yet.
I heal 14 from my arcane figure.
Just 14?
What's that meant to mean?
What are you saying? Use your words.
Seem bigger?
Yeah? It's what you do with it.
Okay, so, Malady's turn.
Malady is going to, one of the effects
that she can do with her moonlit realm
is she creates a sort of shadowy duplicate of herself
next to Rowan.
And through that duplicate,
she can cast lesser restoration.
Oh, hooray!
Wait, I can see.
Oh, what are you?
And then it just turns to dark posts.
Daisy, I want to go home.
Oh, at least you can see again.
Stab this guy.
Okay.
And then she will just...
5, 10, 15, 20, come on.
Right around to you.
Get away.
That is just going to be...
Although she...
So that would be...
No, she bonus.
action to create the duplicate and then,
no, sorry, bonus action, lesser restoration
to create the duplicate.
She does an action.
No.
She could, actually, at the shadow creature,
at the shadow marksman, she will do her manor blast.
Yay.
Oh, 23, she hits.
How much tomorrow, is it?
It's pretty good, it's 3D10 damages.
It's the can't.
Oh, is that a six or a nine?
That's a nine.
That is 22 points of force damage, which she's going to be.
Just did.
Bloodying, you know, this shadowy force, magical creature,
as it takes this blast of Magic Daisy,
you see that it's now heavily, heavily weakened,
as that is Melody's turn.
We jumped to the top of a round with Sister Ophelia Deloresa.
Yeah, Ophelia's gonna spin around,
face Rex and strike him twice,
and I'm gonna use my vampiric bite with veracity.
Yeah. And because I'm under half heart,
hell, ha, ha, ha.
That's it.
Yeah.
half HP I get advantage.
Okay, but are you doing a brutal strike or?
No, just as a standard,
I'm gonna resolve the piercing damage.
Sure, sure, sure.
19.
We'll hit and he's used his pairing.
Yes!
Okay, cool, cool, cool, cool.
Right, right, right, right.
So it just barely hits him, 19 is his AC.
So the piercing damage is 10, so I take it back.
So because he resists it, so you only get the five.
Five back, plus D6, nephotic.
It's four.
Four necrotic.
So he takes that fully.
One, two, five, six, seven, and then eight.
Those are my bonuses.
And then eight extra points?
Yeah.
Oh, I mean, nasty blow as you strike into him,
but that piercing damage resisted,
it only heals you, only gives you
like a small amount of health back.
Nice, and then I'm going to strike him again.
You hit him with the rapier, so you have Vex.
11, 17, 18.
Is not enough, unfortunately.
That does not beat his AC.
Okay.
I forget, you guys have fully stacked from Facebook.
Yeah, but he uses those.
He does, yeah.
But if you don't, I'll steal them.
That's true.
Anything else on your turn?
I might move, no, I move, no.
I think I'm okay here actually.
Yeah, I'm all right.
You're gonna stay?
Yep.
All right, gruff.
I'm just trying to decide.
If you want Numbies on health, I'm above half.
You're above half.
I'm under half.
Yeah.
I will.
Although you do get that advantage benefit, right?
Yes, yes, yes.
So, yeah, so it's just making this easier, guys.
Maybe the one that's the target.
Yeah, maybe.
Yeah, so probably Zan.
I will heal Xanthia's cure wounds at level three.
So that is, and I'm going to fate this
so I can add an 11 from St. Lan's.
Ampio.
Ampule.
Mathematics.
You got that?
Mm.
Okay, so 28, 29, 301, 32 plus 11.
43?
Well, hang on, Malady is gonna use her reaction.
Does not have her Maloney's own.
Okay, I mean, okay.
Well, would it make a difference?
No. In that case she won't, she'll save it.
I'm full up there.
I'm stacked.
God damn.
That's all I can do.
So that's your action, any movement?
Do you know what?
No, I'm going to stay behind my sweet boy.
My sweet baby boy.
Is that me?
Yeah.
Oh shit.
Xanthius.
Nice.
Daddy three.
Whichever daddy you are.
It probably isn't going to do anything, but I'm going to do it anyway.
I will daunting roar at Rexanath.
Okay.
Wisdom saving throne?
Yes, please.
I'm deaf in one ear.
What's the DC on your daughter?
16.
I would normally fail, and he's done.
not immune to being frightened,
but I do have uses of his tormented resistance.
Yeah.
It does mean he takes 25-sign damage.
Oh, nice.
As you see this roar and in his eyes,
this is not gruff roaring,
that he hears Oryganus' roar.
And you see him tremble and then he again clutches his head,
he's like, no, no, and he overcomes his fear,
but he takes 25.
That does press him over the limit
where I gain another 50,
50 points a damn, and so I gain another free shadow point.
End of turn.
I mean, for a daunting role, you just did 25 side.
Yeah, that's pretty good.
That is, however, the point where I'm going to spend two points of this,
and he's going to do that spinning arc move again,
and he's just going to attack everybody.
Hello.
Including the net this time.
You didn't reckless, did you?
So just flat attack against you.
I think this is a flat attack against everybody this turn.
Don't attack the net.
I've had my turn.
Is it Annette 20?
Yes, yes, yes.
Oh, you're serious.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Let's go.
All right, Ophelia is a crit.
Um, Annette.
That is a 28 to hit Annette.
16.
Benedicta is 22, which will hit Benedicta.
Xanthias, natural one.
Oh, nice.
Rough.
I can go, bend back.
29.
Yeah.
Just, just, p, p, p, s.
Uh, I'll do this.
I'm like standing here with my shield,
like ready to use it, but gruff jumps in the way
I dodge the attacks.
Is this gonna be Aphelia, Bo-bye, maybe?
50 points of damage, so 25.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
You're still up?
Yeah, yeah.
Oh, we get, appearance.
Fugia.
To a net.
How far are you stretching fine?
Aventuree-oh, not three-five.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, like an empty number.
26.
Survive one more round, please.
Hey, hang on, 26 points of damage to the net.
A net.
Nets alive.
Oh.
Got 65 HP.
Yeah.
It's not doing it.
It's not doing it.
It's got more hip-posted affiliate right now.
It's not even a joke.
It's not even a joke.
Just survive one more round, all right?
I got you.
I got you in one round, baby.
23 points out of Benedicta and then Graff.
It's a pretty high one.
28 points of damage to Gruff.
Eh.
Fucking stop touching my...
You're what?
For podcast listeners, finish that sentence.
iPad.
I forgot this last time.
Because he's using his spear to do this,
all of you who got hit,
you have disadvantage on your next attack,
because he's using the sap weapon for the agency.
So I'm sapped.
You are sapped, yes.
As is Annette, as is Ophelia and Benedicta.
So you will have disadvantage during your next attack.
That was at the end of Gruff's turn.
that he used his legendary, his fate action.
Marksman is just going to try and take two disadvantage,
close-range shots, one at Daisy, one at Rowan, I think.
Nice to you now.
Disadvantage, that is going to be a 12 to hit you, Rowan.
That's a natural one against Daisy.
He's just as the shadow creature.
I think that he would, no, he wouldn't risk an opportunity attack
because he knows that Daisy can hurt him pretty bad.
Yep.
So yeah, he's just sort of defensively
trying to fire and Finchbergh.
I'm like, move, I dare you.
Yeah, I don't want to disengage with him, it's boring.
You also can't run this way
because he'll be off the map.
Well, he can just hop over the wall.
Yeah.
You're Pac-Man the other side.
Yeah, he Pac-Man's.
If he hops over the wall, I guess.
Rowan, your turn.
Rowan is gonna whip out his mundane stone razor
and do a regular attack.
Against the shadow.
Okay.
Cool, that's 12.
12 is not hit.
13.
No, 12.
No.
He's not hit.
11.
Does not.
We got there in the end.
A roller coaster.
You miss.
Ron's having a good time.
How about thee?
Uh-huh.
This shadow guy just like missing.
He has spells and cantrips and all these crazy things.
But Annette.
You are whole-ranged.
So after that, I will, you've already got Bardick.
Yeah.
Yeah.
going to Healing Word myself.
Okay.
Probably a wise thing to do.
Sounds good.
I will let you sort it out yourself.
And then a net is online.
Great.
Yeah, it's a net's turn.
With disadvantage.
We're doing healing word at fifth level.
So 10D4 plus three, I'd do that off thingy.
I thought I did that.
Amazing.
So disadvantage on this, because they are sapped.
I rolled a nine already, so...
Use the nine.
Nine.
16.
It's not enough to hit, unfortunately.
His AC is high, too high.
A net will come on line.
Swings the weights.
Eh, eh, eh, eh, eh, doesn't seem to be doing much.
End of turn.
Oh.
He healed himself a bit, that's good.
Oh yeah, I need to heal myself.
So the time was a net positive.
You're really low.
Do it, do it, do it.
I'm going to spend my fate point to do lunge.
Oh, more Ophelia.
I don't really want to risk any opportunity attack,
so I think he's going to basically stay where he is
and just attack Ophelia.
I'm going to use my...
Can you lunge?
Yeah, he doesn't have to move.
He doesn't have to move to it.
He moves, and then he can make an attack,
or he can move, then make an attack.
That is a two plus 11-13.
Oh, no.
Doesn't hit.
Yes.
Goes to strike, but you're sort of in that state
where you're almost acting on pure instinct
at this point,
and as the spear just you kind of matrix dodge it to the side.
That was at the end of Rowan's turn.
Benedicta.
You are pretty hurt, right?
I am, yeah.
She's already used the healing word.
Oh, let's see if her radiant blessing regenerates.
It does.
So, yeah, I think that she will use this.
She offers another prayer to pyrusite.
son, guide us to victory, goddess of victory in this battle,
help those strike down this her heretic.
This is her fate.
Oh, I don't have any fate, so I can't use that.
No, cancel that.
Well, that is one bad thing of me being out of fate.
Pirate did not answer.
But it's ready to go if there is fate, ready, on her turn.
So I think that, yeah, she just attacks.
It's just going to make two attacks.
I kind of like the idea that Piris didn't answer.
No, she would.
Because it's Ophelia.
Neither of those are gonna hit, unfortunately,
both deflected off of his high AC.
Rexna's turn.
As I don't have any fate and you do, I get one,
steal it, yum yum, and then I think,
he's pretty hurt at this point.
But I think he's still gonna try and do this.
I think that he still thinks he has a chance.
If he can take down a couple of key targets,
here. Oh God. So he's gonna target gruff with the battle axe again. That is gonna be a 26 to hit.
He's two handing it. So that is gonna be...
24 points of slashing damage and I need a Constitution saving throw up.
My song of stone. Rowan's going to take that. Well you don't take it, you reduce the damage.
I've reduced the... yeah, the damage.
which is what I'm doing.
Uh-huh, so you spend a point of fate to do it.
Yeah.
Okay.
Cool.
It's in my inventory.
Cool.
I reduce it by 1D12 plus my Rizzy-Woos.
Needed.
12 plus Riz, which is three.
So 15, so 24 minus 15, 9.
9. 9.
So you take 9 points of damage,
but I still need a constitution saving throw.
This is a not prone, so you get advantage.
12.
It's not enough, you are not prone.
He's then with the advantage,
switches back to the spear,
and he's just going to try and take Gruff out now.
Like, he is sick of you protecting Xanthius,
he's sick of you doing all these healing spells.
It's a natural 20.
So many not 20's deceptions.
I mean, I'm a killer like when...
Bonus damage from me.
And it's bonus damage.
Yeah.
So that is going to be 24.
40.
40 minimum?
Yeah.
Last time it was 70-something for three.
60, 61, 69 points of piercing damage.
Good.
You watch his gross eyes shut.
He then spins the spear.
That was his second attack.
So first attack knocked you prone,
second attack put you to zero.
He is then going to spin around on a feelie.
He's going to take an attack against him.
That is a 28, not a crit.
No advantage against you because you didn't reckless around him, right?
That is still going to be 10.
22 piercing, half would be 11.
I'm still up.
Really? Oh my god, amazing.
How low?
Five.
Oh my god.
That's his three attacks that he makes on his turn.
Yeah, that's all he can do for now.
Shit.
He does have all of his fate actions
and his reactions are all back online.
Daisy.
How far away is he from me, actually?
Certainly in bow range.
Yeah, he is.
You would get a little bit of cover from that wall between you, but
if you stay on the ground.
It's only a plus two AC, but...
I'm going to use a point of luck to roll with advantage.
Oh.
Nice, nice.
Very nice.
I'm going to use my bonus action to switch back to bull form.
And then I'm going to take...
Yeah, take a shot of Rex.
So he does have plus 2 AC against this,
but with the advantage.
I rolled in 19, so that's 29 to hit minus 2,
27.
You can't carry a barb-
You can't carry, yeah, and he can't
Cone save of 15 if it hits.
Yeah, for the body.
He'll do extra damage, slender damage.
Oh, okay.
If you hit with the bardic.
Are you gonna spend the bardic?
Sure.
Okay.
What's the, sorry, what's the bardic?
D-10.
We'll do the bardic after you do your sneak attack damage
because it's only a D-10 of extra damage.
but, well as in like, it's better to work out separately.
Okay, so.
He's low, but he's not.
We'll see how low he is.
D10 low.
That D10 might make the difference here,
because Daisy does a lot with sneak attack.
40, radiant damage.
Radiant damage.
Plus the D10?
Don't worry about the D10.
At the same time as well,
Malady was about to enhance your radiant damage
through her Moonlight Realm, but doesn't need to.
So what happens is you see Rex Nath,
because he also has two of these things,
after Daisy's time he was gonna do that sweeping blow,
which would have hit downed gruff,
and it would have hit Ophelia,
as he's winding that strike up,
this arrow of light, that luck with the advantage.
Rowan sort of pulls back at the last minute.
Xanthius, you sort of pull yourself to the side,
almost feeling something coming,
almost preparing for Rex's attack.
and Benedicta you see just in silent prayer still,
you know, getting ready to use her prayer
as this bolt of light slams into him,
causing him to like stagger backwards.
He's still on his feet.
However, you watch as he starts clutching his head,
the spear, the axe dropped to the ground.
He kind of clutches his eye
as you watch those veins all throughout his body
begin to like pulse with red,
and black and gold.
As he begins to violently convulse and react,
you watch as four kind of spots under his muscles,
under almost the light piercing through his armour in his arms,
in his legs, these four glowing spots
that Xanthius look like pieces of shaped metal
that have been inserted that begin to glow.
It begins to emit black and red lightning all around him.
As he begins to convulse as whatever crown seal in his body has basically been triggered into like an overload by him being
You know taken out basically
This unfortunately immediately deals damage to everybody around
You automatically fail the saving throw gruff which means you take one death saving throw now. It's not a crit because it's not a melee attack
Yeah, so it's one death saving throw
Xanthius Ophelia Benedict and the net
All must make a dexterity saving throw.
Oh, you do see it coming, yeah, absolutely.
I've got 12.
That's a failure.
18.
That is a failure.
Six by one.
Failure.
I need to roll for Benedicta.
Benedicta succeeds with an 18.
No, sorry, 18.
She fails.
She needs an 19.
So you all fail.
You all take 18 points of necrotic damage.
Yeah.
Refealia falls.
So Ophelia is top of unconscious.
Gruff, you take, you've already taken your one fell.
The same throw, Xanthias you would have taken that damage.
Benedicta as well.
18, wasn't it?
Benedicta looks like she's about to collapse,
but she's still standing.
The net gets blasted.
You see that Rex is no longer a threat.
He's like held in place, like his body spasming.
He does no longer seem like he's a lot.
longer seems like he's in control of his body. But these crown seal, something has been done
to trigger some sort of like this, this is like a fail safe or something. And he's now the power
of that crown seal, some sort of magic within him or whatever was done to him is now exploding
outwards. We stay in initiative. This is an ongoing effect. This is an ongoing effect. Again, you
may make checks on your turn to try and figure out what's happening. You can see that he has in his
forearm, right forearm, upper left bicep in his thigh and in his calf.
You can see that there are these almost glowing points of light.
Sometimes some of them are protected by armor,
but you're seeing the glow radiate from under them,
like something in his flesh is violently heated and glowing and bright.
We go to, that is Daisy, you've taken your turn.
You dealt the sort of finishing blow, as it were.
You still have your movement, though.
The shadow musterry also evaporates
as the person who created him is no longer
is capacity.
And which is, I will go, I only have 25 feet,
so I will go, I will.
Just move yourself as you would like to.
Xanthius, you are up next.
That's about 15 to the different train, right?
Yes, it would 10 for you a cost to go over the wall.
So, if he's no longer, he is counted as restrained.
So he has the restrained condition.
Okay.
He is not really present right now.
He's just like screaming in pain.
He's just like resisting either.
Doesn't seem to be.
He has a restrained condition,
so you have advantage on attacks against him.
So I want to fly into him to grab him
and try to use whatever movement I have
to basically just fly him as far as I can away from the group.
Hmm.
Interesting.
I like Peter Petrelli.
I know what you're going for.
Now, technically, he's restrained.
He can still resist things like a grapple.
Right.
But I like this.
I like it a lot.
Great.
I do as well.
I'm a big fan of it.
You are not very strong.
He is heavily armoured.
He's a huge, huge guy.
I will say this is also...
Sure.
I mean, whatever.
Maybe it doesn't affect the role.
It's fueled by the rage of Aphelia and gruff.
Like, going down right next to me.
Don't forget, you can make...
a free check if you would like to, it's a free check to do an Arcana check or a medicine check
or whatever you'd like to try and figure out the mechanic, but it's up to you. You don't have to.
I don't think I will. I mean as far as I can tell, the aura is omitting from him and I want him
away from everyone. I would like this to be a role because I think that if you were strong,
there'd be no question you could do this. You've got like what a plus one?
It's a plus one's my strength, yeah. He's a heavy dude and he's not unconscious. He's still like,
He's screaming in pain, he's like lashing out with his arms.
He just can't move.
So I'm going to say...
If I cast haste on myself.
You would double your speed.
I'd double my speed.
I'm just trying to push all that momentum just into him.
But fair enough.
I mean, I will fate it.
That's for sure.
So, well, if you're going to grapple him,
by the rules.
Crown steel arm just...
I would make a strength or dexterity saving throw.
Okay.
If I fail it, he has the grapple condition.
I'm going to say, now because he's restrained,
he has disadvantage on deck saving throws.
I'm going to probably argue that if you're kind of using
your speed momentum and less strength,
I will make it a deck saving throw.
Okay.
I think that rather than him choosing,
he's not really in control right now,
so it comes down to the circumstances.
This is going to be a deck saving throw.
It's going to be the same DC of 13,
but his decks isn't as strong as his strength.
Yeah, yeah.
His deck saving throw is now only plus eight,
because he no longer has the benefit of the crowns.
this is unfatable from me right like I can't yeah not yet no so this is a
straight roll from me on the same I need a well it's plus eight to be at 13 so I
would need a four or less to fail yeah at disadvantage though that is an
18 yeah you go to slam in to him Zanthius sorry no it's a disadvantage thank
you for a minute a t oh oh shit
Being restrained in that place, you swoop in, you grab him,
and where are you going?
Are you going up?
Are you going away?
It's in a way, like, perfectly horizontal.
30 feet?
Yeah, even if it's like slowed down, I don't know.
25, 30.
No, no, you get your full movement.
You fly him 30 feet towards the Ashen Citadel.
Yeah.
Like, you kind of just launch in those flaming draconic wings
that you conjure as part of your sorcery,
as part of your heritage,
kind of boosting you forward as you launch yourself forward,
that's going to be your turn.
The action to grapple, the movement, pretty much everything.
Malady's turn.
That was a public role, by the way.
That was a public role, yeah.
Malady is going to make a check
to try and figure out what is happening.
Because that's what she would do.
This is a free roll.
She gets a 21.
She will call out,
Santhias, you won't survive it!
We have to destroy the crown steel!
It's powerful!
She begins to cough up huge wads of blood,
her hands trembling as she maintains the manor zone.
Out of the two of you, she knows that Gruff can get Phelia up.
Yeah.
So she is going to third level healing word gruff,
and she will enhance it with her own ability.
Oh my God, these healing words are so bad, dice rolls.
This is 64, so that was 2,7, 17 plus her boost.
27 hit points to Gruff.
Nice, awesome.
That's her bonus action.
As an action, she is still in range
with her Manor Blast's cantrip.
She is going to attempt to try and snipe one of these weak points.
She has a plus 10.
The DC, I believe, is lower on this.
Yes.
You watch as it's force damage, does she do enough damage?
You watch as she kind of harnesses that power
and a blast of magical and he shoots out
and she just catches the one in the calf,
it slams into Rex's body and you watch as his calf
kind of cracks with the force and the light flickers
and then goes off.
One of the four has been disabled.
Right. Okay, okay, okay, okay.
Destroy them, destroy it.
Destroy as many of them as you can.
Ophelia, you are unconscious, I believe.
That means a death saving throw.
Do you have a Fiola or anything?
No, I've used it.
All right, then this is a straight death saving throw.
A nine.
That is one death failure.
Gruff.
I can cast a cantrip and a spell, right?
You can.
Okay.
I will crawl over to Ophelia.
Yeah, you crawl.
And I will cast a cantrip.
Uh, I will cast.
well I can cast a distance anyway I will cast a healing word on Ophelia at level four
so I'll work out the maths on that in a moment I will use a fate to enhance it as
well okay but I'm also going to reach out a weak paw and cast starry wisp at
Rexnath yeah one of the at him or one of these week one of these crown steel nodes
Yeah. Okay.
So, 16 to hit.
Is enough, because remember he's restrained
and he's not, like, defending himself.
So you're just trying to, like, get past his physical toughness and armor.
16 points of...
What is StoryWis? Radiant damage.
He is unfortunately resistant.
These notes, because they are of crown cell,
they are resistant to radiant damage,
and that is not enough to destroy that node.
I have three nodes left.
You have weakened it, so you did 16, so you did eight points of damage to it.
We'll say that that is the upper bicep.
Oh yeah.
So I was gonna, I said, did I say fourth level for Ophelia?
Listen, you cast whatever you want at that point.
Okay, I'm gonna...
You do that while I move on.
Rowan.
Rowan is going to...
Hmm.
If I was to Dash, what I get there.
Well, remember, Dash takes your action, yeah.
So where'd you want to get to?
Just towards...
15, 20, 20, 20.
You can get to like 10 feet ahead of graph.
And that will probably within,
I just want to get within 60 foot range.
Oh, you're fine, you'll be 10 feet in front of me
is 60 foot from them.
Yeah, 10 foot in front of me because I've worked out for mine.
15, 20, 20.
Okay, I'm gonna move normal.
So you do your normal move, rushing ahead of Daisy.
Excellent.
And then I will do,
fortunately, my only ranged attack spell
is a Starry Whisp as well.
Okay.
You could go for the same one as Graf?
Yep.
Oh, nice, thank you.
I'm gonna do that.
Okay.
I'm looking for a 16 to be ACA here.
15 plus seven.
Eighth.
Three D, sorry.
So roll the damage, 3D8.
3D8.
3D8 is five, six, seven,
10 points of Radiant 2.5.
Half would do five.
Yeah.
So close to being destroyed,
but that resistance, that the crown steel's nature,
having that radiant energy element to it,
is resisting this magic slightly.
Yeah, well guess what?
Go on.
Annette comes online.
And it comes online.
Sure.
Flies in.
What's their movement speed?
30.
5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30.
God.
As they're flying through the sky,
they coil up into a spear.
Yes.
Well, listen, I want this to work.
Which one are you going for a fresh one?
The same one.
Same one.
The same one.
The same one.
Six.
This is a melee attack, right?
Attack, don't forget, this is actually should have applied to a cantrip.
They have an advantage.
Good, is their restraints.
So do you want to just roll just to see if you would have got a crit on your can trip as well?
13.
13 won't hit from a net, but roll to see if you got a crit on your...
I rolled a two again.
No crit for me.
No crit, okay.
So a net spins into kind of coils, shoots past, but one of these bolts of sort of lightning,
I should have done this as well. Zanthias, you would have taken some damage when you moved charged back in and ended your turn there.
You would have taken another six necrotic.
And NEP also then takes nine necrotic as it gets kind of knocked away and blasted.
Just as a point of admin, I healed Ophelia for 37.
Love that. 37.
Benedict's turn.
What's you thinking?
She can't get into melee range with Rex.
So the only thing she can do,
she's very hurt as well.
She's going to move within 20 feet.
I'm going to get her as close as she can possibly get.
She's going to throw her great sword at the,
to try and see if she can, like, you know,
pierce through and smash the one that you've been aiming for.
She has disadvantage because it's an improvised weapon,
but advantage because it's restrained.
So this becomes a straight role.
I'll do this publicly as well.
That is a three.
It's not going to be enough.
The Great Sword just flies past.
Gets caught by a net.
Gets caught in the net.
A net does it?
The last person, Daisy, you are the last person to act
because it was the end of your turn that this triggered.
Oh boy.
This kind of feels like we've got to get them all.
I know.
I mean, get them all or maybe if you destroy them,
it reduces how much damage it does.
Yeah.
Should I go for a fresh one?
Yeah.
Because I'll get sneak attack.
Well, I'll get sneak attack because Xanthus is right next to him, right?
Fully out?
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
I'm gonna use steady aim and not move.
I'm within 80 feet of him, so it's fine.
Yeah.
With advantage.
27, so 25.
Hits.
And is this radiant?
Piercing damage, okay.
Full damage.
32.
32.
And you went for a fresh one, right?
Yep.
So the arrow pierces through into the forearm as his kind of
convulses in this arm stretch, you fire the shot,
takes a moment, pierces through and you watch
as something shatters inside and breaks,
and that light diminishes, but two of the lights still remain,
one, badly damaged, but two of them still remain
as wrecks in just a roar of pain,
as a pulse wave of red, black, and gold energy,
kind of launches out from him.
This is a big AOE, but has Xantheus
pushed him back far enough to at least save some of you.
Oh God, I feel is on the four.
10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40.
It catches everyone but Malady, Rowan and Daisy.
And Rodry.
And Rodry.
I'm at the center of this, so that's cool.
I need a dexterity saving throw
from those of you who are conscious.
There's faith.
There is lots of fate.
Zantheus.
I'm not going to give you a penalty to this,
not like a disadvantage or anything.
If you would like to have one, you can.
I'm at the center.
Yeah, if you want to do disadvantage on it, dude, go for it.
Like, I feel like it makes sense.
Sure, if you feel it makes sense, I will agree with you.
I mean, this is also...
Are you conscious, Sophia?
Yes, yeah, so you're both conscious.
Okay.
So you're fating?
I will fate.
Okay.
Do I have dangerous sense on this?
You do?
I'm down, though, but...
Yeah, you do.
You're conscious, right?
You're still aware of it.
Sanchez, are you doing anything?
Which one do you roll?
That was a three.
My voice hit into that, rolled it to 17.
Two.
But did you roll with advantage?
Yeah, ten.
Ten's a failing.
24.
Success, half damage.
Benedicta also failed.
What did Annette roll?
I didn't roll for a net.
You should.
14. 17.
It's a failure.
Yeah, I'm just gonna, I don't have anything special
I can do here, I don't think.
There's one point of fate left.
Yeah, I'll use the final point of fate.
So, disadvantage, though.
But with an extra D6?
Yeah, I mean, before the, as the light is building,
I will of course turn this charge that I was doing into a hug.
That's a seven.
And that's a Nat 20.
So 7 plus 1 plus fate, which is 11.
It's a failure.
You took out two of these,
which means each one of them does 30 points of damage.
So 60 points of damage, half to those who succeeded.
So 30.
I don't think it's enough to take you guys to minus your total HP.
So you're not in danger of instant death here.
but you do take 60 points of damage, those who fail.
Actually, well no, it would be 30 fire and 30 necrotic.
So you would-
Still up, but I was gonna say, you would also
half the 30 fire damage.
Great.
He's still up.
Do you have any resistance to necrotic?
No.
No. I do.
So you're down.
I'm down. Annette?
Annette's gone.
How sad.
Gruff.
I'm thinking it through.
Because you do take half, so you'd only take 30.
Because you succeeded on your save.
You're down as well.
Yeah.
Okay. So this pulse wave kind of echoes out.
Not as powerful as it could have been,
and had it been not driven away,
would have potentially struck all of your allies
and potentially could have done more damage.
But, oh, I forgot, Benedicta does also go down as well.
And she was very low on hit points.
But Xanthius, you're still up.
I'm still, yeah.
I mean, like, like I said, this charge,
as I'm pushing this person away, Rex away,
like, it's sort of in mid-movement as the explosion happens, right?
Yeah.
But, yeah, I would have...
Yeah, because you're still flying with him, right?
Yeah, it would have...
As I know the explosion is about to happen,
it turns into me hugging Rex as the flight is still happening.
So, I guess, after the explosion,
whatever state wrecks is in.
This pulse wave kicks up dust and stone and debris,
kind of echoing across.
Well, Zanthias, you are the next one to act in the initiative order.
You are holding, you know, he's heavy.
It was only the momentum that was really allowing you to carry him,
but you feel that he is not dead.
he is basically at one hit point
his arm the ones that you
the ones that you destroyed the nodes
so one of his arms and one of his legs are intact
but badly damaged
the other arm and other leg look broken
like they are black as if something is exploded out of them
like the muscles have been shredded
they look terrible terrible terrible wounds
but you feel like a breath come out of his
muzzle out of his snout
why did you make me do this
and didn't have a choice.
You absolutely had a choice.
You can see now how strong we are.
I think that's about as much as he gets for now in those six seconds.
Is there anything else you would like to do?
I know that he wanted me to destroy the body.
And I don't have any healing.
I...
It was like a flight and heart.
sort of tackle that I basically did to him,
so it's like standing over him now.
So you want to actually, like, bring him down to the ground?
Yeah, I guess, yeah, as part of that challenge.
Yeah, he just slumps.
Like, he is, he's done.
Like, he's not fighting anymore now.
But he is conscious.
He's able to talk.
It's just that's all he can say in the six seconds.
If I turn around, so gruff down,
Ophelia down, Benedict down.
Yeah.
The others you see in slow motion,
like running like Daisy Rowan and Matt.
Even Malady looks like she's about to throw her stuff
and just come and running.
Yeah, just...
Roan's flaring his arms with green energy.
So, yeah, you are going to heal the arm.
No. No. No.
I'm here to destroy that body.
Right, okay.
Fireball.
Like, I look at them running towards the heel
and I'll turn back
and there is a orange glow
in that crown steel arm
that I will turn and point it towards Rex.
He looks at you.
I'm not gonna say anymore because this is like six seconds.
I know.
So do you wanna take action now?
He really wanted me to destroy the body.
And like a fireball would do that, would that?
He's at one him.
I will.
But he's also, you know, he's not dead yet.
Yeah.
But he just almost killed, like, a lot of my friends.
And I don't think there's any chance of saving him here.
And it is what he asked for.
So, almost at, like, point-blank range.
Just a...
I will cast a fireball directly down onto him,
using careful to protect myself and everyone around me as well.
Okay.
It's an explosion.
You watch as the fire engulfs.
And I think that you see him smile as the flame builds in your hand, just nods, softly, gently, and almost at peace, glad that this is happening.
There is just tears streaming Derazantius's face as well, like almost wanting to look away from it, but forcing him to look at it as well.
We watch us the fire engulfs wrecks
And I think we just
The flame engulfs and begins to burn what remains
If that's your choice
That is my choice
In that case there's more than enough time
For everybody to be saved by healing magic or medicine checks
You all come conscious
You look over as your race over
To see Xanthius just standing with this
grotesquely mutated crown steel arm that's now almost glowing with fiery energy and just this
scorch mark like this just cone of a trench of dirt and earth and the scorched blackened remains
of rexanath the bones beginning to just crumble in the intensity that still flames littering this
trench as xanthia stands above them
And I want to keep in mind, I know that he said that he would tell me all of these things as well.
I do remember that.
Sure.
But it's in the rage of the fight, I suppose, is...
Perfect.
Yeah.
The last thing you see is out of one of his pouches is now burning a stone, kind of like a run stone.
I think you would recognise a sending stone when you see one.
Just kind of falls out to the ground.
and it's blazing, hot, cracked,
almost molten at points from the intense heat.
And then it just cracks and breaks.
Cool. Cool.
Well, I hand it over to you.
I'm no longer an initiative.
We'll say that you're all at least at one hit point.
There's no immediate danger.
Come to and sort of sit up,
maybe with her back up against that wall behind her.
She'd sit there, slumped, and just watch Zanthi.
just arm out scorching his brother,
there'd just be this look of just fear.
Yeah, you are all conscious.
Even though you're down,
you're all conscious when you see this happen.
Because I don't like it when people fall unconscious with your HP.
Yeah, Daisy would have used healing hands on either Gruff or Ophelia.
Sure, yeah, raced over.
I imagine Gruff because, you know, gruff can then heal.
Probably gruff because gruff can heal.
Yeah, you see, so, yeah, like,
Afilia sort of dragged herself over here,
kind of leaning up and watching.
Daisy, you've raced over to Graf, Rowan, you followed.
Rowan was running, but as soon as he sees the blast, he kind of just stops at his tracks.
Just, I think he looks away.
Sure.
You see Malady, like, hobbling, like, she clearly can't run at all, if it went very well.
Hobbling, hacking up blood, the Manor's own effect completely, you know, vanishes,
and she just crouches next to Benedict her and is channeling whatever magic she has left to, like,
knit those wounds together.
and just sort of like, sister, please, please be alright.
I'll do mass cure wounds to help.
Yeah, everybody's up.
I think, yeah, I would probably go into Malady as well
and try and give her some, like, water,
like, make sure that, like,
try and just stabilize her a little bit because she's struggling.
Clearly, like, her realness is pushing her to the limits.
One of those, what is Gruff doing?
I think seeing all this, like,
there's a wetness to his eyes.
but he will, especially with everyone else busy,
he will walk over to Xanthius and behind his back,
raises a paw, there's a fraction of a pause,
and then it comes down on Zanthius's shoulder.
And I don't know if Santhius turns to look or not, but...
I mean, it's still staring at this...
That which he has done.
But, yeah, he would turn to you.
It's not, like, stunned into this place, yeah.
And it's still, like, Zantius is clearly, like, tears pouring.
Yeah, yeah.
Groff's just going to look in your eyes,
nod, and then hold his arms out as if to you,
you know, he's not going to hug you, but if you want...
Yeah, Zanthius would immediately turn around
and sort of fall into that hug.
Yeah.
And it's fully just sobbing, like...
Screaming.
Yeah, it's...
Yeah.
Is there anything in particular that Xanthia says or screams, like, any words?
It's a mixture of I'm sorry and he made me do it.
I think as soon as Groff hears a, you know,
humans the wrong word, but a reaction like that,
his shoulders go down and he just envelopes you
and he just, you know, pats your back and his sore,
Let it out. Let it out. You're safe.
Mixed in with Graff's words, you do hear,
You did the right thing, my friend.
You couldn't leave him alive.
He wanted this.
Yeah.
And that, by the way, is with your runes up.
Up. Oh.
The expression just changed there, Tom.
That's not allowed.
That's not allowed.
It is now.
No, you can't do that, though.
So just to race around, we know Daisy, you've rushed up and healed Rowan.
You're sort of using your healing magic and saying,
Ophelia is there any change in Ophelia?
Like, is anybody else wanted, like, you know, Daisy, Rowan,
is there anything that you guys want to do?
I think Daisy wants to comfort Zen,
but sees that Gruff is comforting Zan.
So I think she's keeping an eye,
but she's also aware that Maldi and Benedict have just had a really traumatic
like a sick fight and she kind of is trying to make sure they're okay but keep half an eye on it.
Yeah.
I think that like in between like coughs and like now that you know Benedict is like, I'm all right, I'm all right.
She's a little dazed, you know, she's coming around but like Mally's like he shouldn't.
We needed information.
He shouldn't have done that.
You must not have had a choice.
Perhaps there is something we can learn.
What about Ophelia or Rowan?
Yeah, I think Ophelia would just get to just slowly like
get to her feet.
Sure.
Watch what's happening with Xanthus and Graf,
see that that's all unfolding in Zanthius's.
Sure.
There's a remorseful, I assume,
like a sort of remorseful feeling there.
You can see him crying his eyes, like screaming.
There's a hesitation in Ophelia's eyes,
seeing that image, like you're like,
imagine Zanthia's silhouette against the flame,
like the crowns to your arm, the wings, just like,
this image just,
burned in her mind.
She's just like, what have you done?
And they just, yeah, just leave it that.
I think Rowan maybe hears a snippet of that, but what about Rowan?
Rowan's quite overwhelmed by the whole situation.
So he's gonna drop the song of stone.
I think that would have naturally fallen away anyway.
He's just stunned to silence.
What a beautiful scene is that, yeah, we see Gruff and Xanthius in each other's arms,
the rest of you sort of watching.
Mixed reactions, Daisy, full of empathy and sympathy.
I think she's trying to, by comforting them,
I think she's trying to distract herself from having to compute what she just, yeah.
Sure.
But still that, wanting to go in comforts it, and still having that empathy.
Rowan just not really sure what to think, stunned into everything, and then that,
that almost fear or that sort of trepidation from Ophelia having seen the scene,
you all, I assume, begin to make your way back?
Really, this is your moment.
I don't want to dictate too much.
You guys tell me at the pace at which, like, you guys move on
or what you do next.
You know, you're not in any immediate danger.
No speak with dead.
Nobody.
There's certainly, at the present, there is remains,
but they will probably burn out if you leave the area burning.
Okay, so there is still that potential.
Over the table, like, there is still that potential.
Well, it's going to be tricky,
but I would say that a fireball probably isn't enough
to incinerate a body on contact,
but, like, he is in and in-furt, like, is engulfed,
like, there's fire all around him,
like his clothes are on fire, like, yeah.
But I think it would take a very concentrated effort
to be, like, we're going to destroy,
so there are no remains whatsoever.
But right now, yeah, you haven't like incinerated him yet.
I mean, that's the eventual plan, that's what they asked for.
Sure.
Yeah, it is. It is.
You know, there was a deep fear in Rex's face when making that deal with you,
like terrified of what Oregonus would do if he were to be brought back to life.
Yeah. It's just I got ahead of the speak with dead.
Sure.
Um...
Yeah, I don't know. I mean, you know.
Yeah, I don't know. I mean, again, it's over the table rather than RP stuff, but that is an option to speak with dead if we wanted to go that route.
Or are we all just in like...
I think Gruff's too. He's not... like you're his immediate focus and
I will say even though he is comforting you, there is a little tremor in in Graff like there's a little tremor in his paw, you know
agitated twitch of the tail, you know.
Daisy just wouldn't go near a burning body.
Yeah.
To make it easier, I think,
that after sort of taking some water from Daisy in recovering,
like, Malady will sort of stagger her way
towards Antheus and Gruff and the body,
and be like, there's still time.
We can still ask questions.
There's things we must know.
Need to know about the others.
What is Oregon's planning?
He knew what he had information.
We need information.
and is just making away.
She does not seem like she's going to stop
unless she is stopped.
Benedicta has got herself to her feet,
maybe dragged herself over,
picked up the great sword,
and is dragging herself over towards her sister as well.
Are you okay with this, Sontheus?
He wanted me to do this.
To, to...
So he couldn't be brought back by Aragonus.
We are not Aragonus.
You can do whatever you need to.
you afterwards, but Xanthius, this is our best lead.
If there are others working for your father,
perhaps, perhaps your brother knew of it.
You can ask him the questions.
We need to know what he knows.
Good. Yes.
I mean, when I look around at everyone now,
how are they, if I look at, like, Aphelia or Rowan, Daisy?
You guys, you answer Tom's question.
I don't need to answer it.
Rowan's doing a ritual.
Okay.
And it looks like a table is emerging.
A table?
He's making a hero's feast.
Ah, right, okay, nice.
To, like, get everyone's nourishment back.
Yeah.
For the journey home.
Yeah, I feel it would just be, like,
sort of busying herself in a way,
just like wiping off,
veracity, like, cleaning her sword,
like, fussing with her hair,
just doing anything,
just to keep herself physically distracted
from what just happened.
But is it like avoiding Xanthius?
A little bit, there's a little bit there.
I think Daisy's going to be probably watching what Rowan's doing.
She's probably going to be sitting cross-legged,
looking away, like facing away from Zanthius.
And it's not that she doesn't...
It's not that she's facing away from Zanthius.
She's facing away from the...
the wrecks and the fire.
Yeah, I mean, there is, like, I feel like,
it would be hard for Zanthius not to feel offended in a way
of like, if everyone is looking at him in that way,
in a fearful way, or even like Gruff,
if I, after the hug, if I've pulled away,
is it the same thing from you?
Is it like discernible, the sort of...
I feel like it's pretty, like, you know,
when Gruff is in, like, unreadable dad mode.
Right.
Like, so take...
The distant sort of...
Not distant, just, like, you probably can't tell, like, what he's thinking.
His tail is twitching, but he's still comforting you.
Airplane ears?
No, no airplane.
No airplaneers.
But he has also been knocked unconscious twice in the last ten minutes,
so he might be a bit wobbly.
His blood sugar's probably a bit low.
I mean, you could take, like, Daisy's probably...
You probably know Daisy well enough to know that it's,
there's a fire over there and she doesn't want to go near it.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So it's not you specifically.
Brian doesn't look too bothered.
Okay.
And he can't cast Hero's Feast.
He doesn't have a crusted gem ball worth a thousand.
I can't.
Tables.
Just spurt.
Pick one of those up in Calcare's, maybe.
Yeah.
So I think, you know, as you look around, Santhius,
Malady
whispers some sort of
incantation and a cooling
that kind of snuffs out the flames
that are burning his body currently
trying to preserve as much of the remains
as possible
and she is
business
there's no hesitation
she's not looking at you in fear or anything like that
it is a we have a job to do
and she's like I can ask
we can ask up to five questions
Now, I believe that Rex would be willing to answer them.
I don't think we have any fear of them keeping anything from us.
They seemed quite willing to share this information if we defeated them.
Five questions.
Fuck.
Oh, fuck.
This is not just on you to answer Xanthias.
Santhias.
I'm not going to come over there just now,
but if you want me to write down some questions,
I can write them down so we'd definitely make sure that we get them right.
Yes.
Please, yes.
What do we want to know?
We want to know about Oregonis.
We want to know maybe about the other siblings, possibly.
I don't know.
We want to know Oregonis' involvement with Crown Steel.
Do we want to know that?
Probably.
Probably.
Political connections.
Political connections.
Would you, Madadie and Benedicta, want to find out
how much the corruption has seeped into the eclipic order?
The difficulty is I'm not sure how.
how much the sibling of yours knew himself, knew directly.
But yes, obviously I am concerned about that.
But perhaps a broad question,
what other parties are involved in Oregonus' plans?
Something like that.
That would at least give us an indication
if he knew of something.
Okay.
Anyone else?
Have any ideas?
His sources, where he's getting all this crown steal from.
Rex was full of it.
Yes.
Yes.
Incredibly well implemented.
I mean, to have pieces in his body in those locations,
they've been there for some time.
These were inserted when he was young.
I'm surprised the mutation is not more severe.
No.
And he was being enhanced with so many things, not just crown steel.
Yeah.
Perhaps maybe what weaknesses of Raganus has.
Possibly. But again, we can only if this Rexnath knew of them.
He will only know any knowledge he had in life.
But yes, if he is aware of any weaknesses.
I fear your eldest sibling the most.
So if you're to ask about your siblings, maybe focus on that one if Rex knows them.
Yeah.
Yes. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. I'm trying to recall also.
It was obviously two weeks ago.
Rex made a promise.
It was just that they'll tell everything, right, that they could.
If you defeated him, yeah.
Wow.
Yeah.
But it wasn't anything specific.
It was just what they knew.
Fair enough.
What about us in regards,
how much does your father know about us?
Are we in danger?
That sending stone before it crumbled,
it was active, wasn't it?
Give me an Alcana check.
Okay.
He said that Oraganas would be watching, right?
16, Alcana.
You get the sense that it had been used recently.
Right.
Probably before this battle.
But it would make a very, very easy focus for a scrying spell.
Gotcha.
Okay.
And Rexnath did say something like he will be watching.
Yeah.
Okay.
Okay.
So.
You want me to write them down?
Yes.
Okay.
What parties are involved?
What parties are involved,
aiding Oregonis?
Um,
uh, uh, um...
I mean, a simple,
what is Oregonis
his plan for this crown steel. Something like that? Yes. Unlikely Rex andath knows, but I feel like
we should at least ask. What does Oregoners plan with crown steel? Question two.
Question three. Um, uh, uh,
Sibling. Older sibling. Potential weaknesses. Political connections, maybe. And what's your
favorite color? It's gold. Mine's gold. Not gold. Not gold.
Why, the paper is not gold.
It's blurbable.
This is Tom filling in silence.
So, what parties are involved and aiding Oregonus?
What is his plan with the Crown Steel?
Who your older sibling is? What do you want to know specifically?
I am concerned.
Rex andeth mentioned that the eldest sibling they were frightened of,
but are they the one, are they...
the one, are they helping orchestrate these plans?
If they're not involved, that may not be very useful to Earth.
True.
Well, are his weaknesses?
Yeah.
Uh.
And then...
And then we'll leave some spare just in case any crop up from the answers.
And his enhancements.
Rex's enhancements.
Yeah.
Anyone else having them? Is it part of a project?
Greater project?
That might crop up in the crown still question.
I think just leave the last one open.
Do you not have too much longer.
The remains are unstable.
Well, instead of asking about the older sibling,
is there a more targeted thing you want to ask?
We'll figure it out as we go.
We have three that we definitely want to ask.
Yeah.
Right, I will begin.
Now will be the best time to cast as well.
I'll begin the ritual.
Malady begins the ritual, pouring out a circle of salt around the body, beginning a low-muttered
incantation.
Mistress of secrets, ancient knowledge, spirits come forth.
Let this man speak once more and answer the questions that will help us save any more.
And you hear not an intake of breath, but
breath, wind almost rustling through.
Melody just nods and holds up her head with five digits.
Um, okay.
Rex and Arthur, do you know Oregonis's plans with Crownsteel?
I was not privy to his greater plans.
But I know he was collecting.
specific, rare, very pure crown steel for some greater purpose.
What parties are aiding, Oregonus, in this objective?
An organization, a diadem.
Another I did not know, but was connected to a sister, our sister.
Do you know of any weaknesses in Oregonis or his organization?
Weakness is arrogant.
I like turn to the group.
Specific names.
Of anyone he knows.
Your siblings.
Political involvement of...
Do we want to further that?
We said parties are aiding, but is there anything political, do you think?
We need to...
Specific names, I think.
That she knows.
Names that could be dangerous to us.
Can you tell me the names of the people
Oregonus is working with together Crown Steel?
I do not know.
That you know.
I mean, the intent of that question,
you think that Rex would have given you a name
if he knew of one. But it seems that he just was kept in the dark.
Like, he was kind of a one-man army, right?
Sent out to do jobs.
There's one more.
After what you've seen today, do you still think we stand no chance against Oroganus?
Think you all fair.
You just watch as the muzzle begins to break, as the bones blackened and cracked, as the last power of the spell runs through the body.
Some of it begins to break away.
There is still remains there.
Yeah.
What should I do next?
Next, we should head back to Asht's rest.
Think of next steps.
This is grisly business, but I think if we are to fall of Rhexenos' wishes to the fullest,
we need to destroy his remains further.
I can do it if...
I am all so happy to help.
I appreciate that this is difficult for you, Xanthias, but I do not know this man.
To me, he is an enemy. I have no problem with this grisly business, as Graf says.
He asked me to do it.
You do not have to carry this burden on your own.
But I do. Have to.
You've done plenty.
You don't need to be the one carrying the shovel.
You put him down. You finished him.
This is just after work.
You did the important thing.
Did I do the right thing?
That is a question only you can answer.
Did I do the right thing?
I don't feel like I can answer that one.
Gruff?
I think you did, Santhius.
There was no coming back for that boyo.
The fear inflicted by your father in him.
He was so, so far gone.
You put his mind to rest.
You stopped him.
from being used to inflict further arm.
It was clear he did not want to follow this path.
I also didn't want to follow this path either,
and I'm holding up the arm.
You can see that it is beginning to shrink.
The effect is beginning to withdraw.
It is not a permanent mutation,
but it will take some time for it to revert back to how it was.
This is not...
This was a temporary gift.
I want you to know I was resisting.
I have been resisting since Crown Fall.
When he appears in dreams, I've been fighting against it.
But I could feel myself fading there.
I don't know. I... it was either this or I probably would have died.
Again.
So...
Zanthias, I'm not looking for an apology from you.
If there's anyone who should apologise, it's me.
I did not protect you well enough.
I left you out in the open.
I let you get hit.
I understand it was a choice between this or death.
This we can do something with.
Death, I am not so sure.
So if anyone needs an apology,
I am sorry, Santhius Orgon.
We protect each other.
Now, we protect each other.
That's how it works.
It's not just you protecting me.
We're a team.
Hear a whisper in your head, Santhias.
You did most of the protecting.
They let you get killed.
Oh, fuck you.
It was my gift that saved you.
That with gruff looking at you.
I think Benedicta will just nod, give a moment,
and we will leave things there
as this episode comes to a close.
Oh my God, what a fight.
What a fight.
That's awesome.
Yum, yum, yum.
Hey.
I thought a good episode title.
Yeah?
Promises kept.
Yeah, okay, yeah, that's good.
Oh, God, what a fight as well.
Just one guy.
I had his shadow warriors, sure.
But, yeah, he's intended to be a problem.
But again, you guys had so much healing,
like, you know, the fact he couldn't take you guys more of you guys out
before the anti-magic went, made it very difficult.
That anti-magic was brutal.
Like, the absolute worst thing.
Well, you know what, though, Tom?
Yeah.
We can talk about this behind the screen.
How about that?
We're going to have a behind-the-screen for this episode
if you are subbed on Twitter,
or a YouTube member, or a Patreon supporter,
and linking your Discord, you have access
to the behind the screen,
which we'll talk about this episode,
the previous episode, and also the Azar Step art as well.
Maybe. We'll see how much we get.
We'll see how we get through.
You know, we're going to send too long.
But that's going to be it for today's episodes.
Thank you so much for watching.
We love you very much, and we'll see you next time.
See you next time.
Bye!
