Our heroes have been on a rather deep
and meaningful boat journey.
As they travel along the coast of the Suncrest Isles
towards their destination,
heartfelt conversations have been had.
However, as they draw closer to the coast,
an ambush takes place.
Having spotted bodies and flotsam on the nearby rocks,
several members of the party were quickly aware
of something appearing from the depths below,
as creatures of Orjanya have appeared and ambushed them
and resulting in quite a dangerous
and scary looking battle thus far.
Ophelia having nearly been taken out already
and healed by Gruffuth, Xanthias being injured quite gravely.
However, our sorceress, Dragonborn,
has managed to turn the tide a little
by casting a powerful confusion spell,
which has affected many of the creatures.
Yes.
As we begin a brand new turn,
with Daisy starting off,
one thing I want to clarify with you, Thomas.
Yes.
If a creature takes damage,
do they get to save against the confusion
or does it just persist?
It is at the end of each of their turns.
Alright, so damage doesn't change anything about it.
Right, yes.
Alright, good to know.
Daisy, at the back of the ship.
Yes, Daisy is currently at the back of the ship,
the aft.
The butt.
The butt.
You have two of these creatures,
one of these soldiers as I'm calling them,
they have these kind of starfish shields covered in spines
with a great claw, and then there are the crablings
which are these smaller coral covered creatures.
and there are the crablings, which are these smaller coral-covered creatures.
Um...
I'm going to...
do some things.
First of all, I'm going to attack the big boy again.
OK.
Cos I'm not at disadvantage...
No, I am at disadvantage,
but I can cancel it out with my advantage from Vex.
Yes, from Vex.
So I attack the big boy again.
OK.
Um... And see boy again. Okay.
And see what happens.
Okay.
That will hit 16 plus eight.
That will hit.
So, what I'm gonna do is this first.
Okay.
Hang on.
18 damage.
18 points of damage. 18 points of damage.
I'm going to use one of my D6s
to do a sneak attack with draw,
which means I can move up to half my speed
without provoking opportunities.
One of the newer Rouge abilities.
Rouge.
So this is you drop to D6 from your sneak attack.
Perfect.
Oh.
Yes, so you drop a D6 of damage. it costs you a D6 of Sneak Attack.
Drop a...
Do you want to just roll it again?
Take one away and then roll again.
That's pretty rad.
Yeah, it's really nice, it gives you options to do more cool rogue stuff
at the cost of Sneak Attack damage, which I think is really cool.
Yeah.
Probably did more damage, didn't he?
25.
Yeah, there you go.
Wow, with the less D2.
Yeah, I rolled way better at that time.
With that, as you go to withdraw and move, by the way,
the Radiant Blade, guided by it,
goes into the eye socket of this huge brute
who's unsure what to do in the confusion of the magic,
ugh, as its eye splits and it goes into the creature's
skull or brain as it is destroyed.
But we are grappled by it.
Does it let go?
No, it's not that way.
Oh, come on.
Now, if I was stabbed in the eye,
I'd probably grip harder.
Isn't it? You know what, at this point, do whatever he says, Now, if I was stabbed in the eye, I'd probably grip harder. Ha ha ha ha ha.
Isn't it?
You know what, at this point, do whatever he says
because he's writing his own,
he's digging his own grave here.
For the sake of narrative enjoyment,
I'm going to spend a...
Complication.
Well, not really, this is because it's an attack role,
not a combo, but more for the,
just the narrative rule of cool.
Sure.
Yeah, I'm going to say that as it falls off the boat,
it doesn't grip tight,
but it is going to drag Ophelia and Xanthias with it. The thing is, I have a way to stop this,
and I could have just dragged Ophelia alone down into this.
But I'm gonna say that I'm going with,
because I have something called Sigillic Fortress,
which lets me resist being pulled.
Well.
But I'm not going to, because I don't want to,
Tom doesn't want to have sent just Ophelia down there.
If you have an ability, I've never heard of that ability as well.
It's a runic sorcerer.
Oh, yes, I wrote them, so I should know that.
You could totally use that if you want.
No, because then Tom feels bad.
Okay.
So yeah, as it pitches its way over this creature,
and it's sort of like dead, it has still got you gripped,
and just falls into the water
and begins to sink with carrying you within.
It's a large creature, so it's heavier than the two of you,
so it is dragging you down through the water.
I'm gonna say you go 20 feet underwater.
Oh shit.
Swim aboard.
Sorry, guys.
I didn't do anything wrong, I just can't.
But your withdrawal, you can now move.
I am gonna withdraw to where is,
just beside Ser Jorah on the deck, please.
And I won't have opportunity attacks.
No, yeah, absolutely.
And that you guys definitely now have cover from,
these things cannot reach you.
Perfect.
Alrighty.
End of your turn, Daisy, great turn.
Gruffus.
I can't quite see the battle map,
because there's a lot going on.
There is a lot. There's one right next to me.
If there's a way I can angle Call of Lightning
to hit bad people, not good people.
What's the right name?
You could hit the two at the very back of the ship.
They're the only two that you can hit
with only striking enemies.
Unless you hit the very front of the ship,
you could hit that one beside you.
Yeah, but you don't hit the one.
You don't hit the one.
And also you'd have to strike the actual vessel,
which the boat can't take damage from things.
I don't feel like doing it.
So the two at the back, that is the soldier and a crabling.
All righty.
I'm a question.
Crabling.
Oh my god.
Deck save, right?
Crabling fails.
Soldier fails, both fail.
Soldier is resistant.
Three.
Just three lightning damage.
What?
On 3d8.
Oh, lovely, 111.
Sorry, 3d10.
111.
Love it.
Seriously.
That's like the worst damage I've ever seen.
That's terrible, actually.
I'm so sorry.
That's awful.
It's also hard.
I hate to tell you this,
but the soldier's actually resistant,
so it becomes one.
Yeah, so it's one.
Um.
Am I retiring?
Yeah, I think you should.
I think I'm gonna.
Yeah, I think you're gonna.
Devil's bargain.
Can we reroll that?
I think I'm just gonna.
Yeah, it's been fun, Kim.
It's been fun, but unfortunately,
I can't look past her.
Bye.
Well, it's actually so Joran's turn, Kim.
I do need you back.
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
Do not disappoint her.
Oh, well that's also, that's your bonus action
to call down a bolt right while you're concentrating on it.
Or is it an action?
It says, it's an action now.
Yeah, do you have a movement or bonus action
you would like to do before you end rough spend?
I could, I can't cast Healing Word.
So I know that like, you can't cast a spell in a spell,
but if a spell's already up.
Oh yeah, no, see, yeah, yeah, you can.
So if you're using your action to activate the spell,
you can then cast a spell as a bonus action.
Not using two spell slots?
In which case, I will Healing Word level two.
Who's looking super fucked apart from Mateo?
Mateo and Xanthius.
I would say Ophelia and Xanthius are...
It's 60 foot range.
60 foot range, but you have to see them, right?
I would say that this water is very dark and silty.
Like the temps.
You could make it, I would say you could choose
either of them, but if they sink any lower, no.
Okay.
In which case I'll go for...
Xanantius.
Because this is Gruff, I am gonna, Matteo looks bad.
I'll do Matteo.
Just, it's your choice,
but Gruff is the type of person
who I think would notice that.
Three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine,
10, 11, 12, 13 to Matteo.
13 points of damage. Oh, 12, 13 to Mateo.
13 points of damage.
Oh, thank you, by the silence.
Did you see like various wounds
knitting themselves back together?
He was looking pretty rough.
And this net is still like cutting into him
as he's trying to struggle his way free.
Who's nearest to Joran?
Daisy and the crab soldier.
Crab soldier Harpoon.
16 plus six to hit.
So 22 is a hit, he can't do anything about that.
I rolled a turn.
Plus two, 12 piercing damage.
12 piercing damage, yeah, the Harpoon strikes
into this creature, a solid blow.
He does get two attacks a turn, by the way, Kim.
I don't know if that's very clear.
I did put times two per action.
Can I do like two more, because I'm missing one.
No, you can do one more.
I rolled 16 again.
So hits.
Nice.
So four, five, six points of piercing.
Another six points of piercing damage.
So two strikes of his Harpoon,
jabs them into this creature.
Perfect.
I don't make sure I have Harpoons.
Rowan. Rowan reaches out got much more carpings. Rowan.
Rowan reaches out to Mateo in slow motion.
I'll save you all.
And then gets healed by Gruff.
Okay.
And his hand just goes to his own face.
Cure Wins at level two.
All right, heal yourself.
So that's 48, right?
It is.
Plus your modifier.
Plus three.
He's so mad. Look at him.
What a mad little boy.
That's cool.
I'm glad.
I'm so happy for you and your heal.
17, 20.
20 points of HP to you, to yourself, bro.
Before that would be like, five.
Yeah.
Oh, that's a level two spell slot and also my advisor.
I don't know why he's griping about it.
We played a whole campaign with Trot healing before this as well.
Trot doesn't complain about it.
Yeah, but it was his whole...
He got really defensive about it.
I was good at healing.
Yeah.
Ooh.
Ooh.
About on average, I think.
No.
Wow.
Actually, I feel like Laura did more healing than the cat.
Wow.
Anyway.
No, you both sucked. So you heal yourself 20 points for an action. Rowan, bonus action or movement action? Anything? Actually, I feel like Laura did more healing than the cat. No! Anyway.
Yeah, I know, you both sucked.
So you heal yourself 20 points for an action.
Rowan, bonus action or movement action, anything?
No.
Okay, all right.
After Rowan.
You still got your bardic inspiration.
I do.
It's true.
Use it, motherfucker.
Oh, I haven't had a turn.
You have a d6.
Yeah, I have a d6.
I haven't had to make a save run for you. Or attack or vulnerability check. He have a D6. Yeah, I have a D6. I haven't had to make a save right now.
Or attack or vulnerability check.
He's just been suffering.
Which you might need to do in a minute
to escape the cause of the death.
Well actually, no, it's dead.
I'd say that you can prize it off fairly easily.
Okay.
But you might need it to swim.
What?
Right, we go with the Crablings and Soldiers.
Let's do these confused ones first.
Tom Max, roll a D10.
Let's do the confused one on the deck.
Okay, so I'm rolling a D10, they are confused,
they take this action instead.
They don't move or take actions.
All right, so the one on the deck does nothing.
The one at the back of the ship.
They don't move or take actions. Perfect, the Crabbling on the back of the ship. They don't move or take action.
Perfect, the crabbling on the deck of the ship.
They don't move or take action.
Love it, perfect.
That is a two to six.
So they just sit there doing nothing,
they're just looking around completely oblivious
to what's happening.
Are there like, how many things are on that table?
10.
One, two, three, there's four different options.
Wow. But two to six is the biggest by far.
That's good though, because you want that,
that's like the main benefit you want for the railings.
All right, so that leaves one crabling
at the back of the ship, who is going to clamber up
and Daisy is gonna kind of come behind you
onto the railing, it's gonna climb up.
What a bitch.
This little, little guy.
Bitch energy.
Big bitch energy.
Oh, it's gonna tip the ship.
It's gonna tip the ship.
Don't rock the boat.
Don't rock the boat.
This boat is so full.
It's so, everyone is like off kilter.
It's just, it's not good times.
Wait, did another one just jump on?
Yeah.
Is there a chance the boat could,
the boat is gonna, can we stand up?
No.
Okay.
If you want to try and adjust it to stand it up, you can.
I can't reach very well.
I think it's just very thin.
It's actually quite stable.
So, Crabbling, Daisy, one's gonna attack you.
With two attacks, a 17 to hit.
Yeah.
It does finally hit. It no longer has advantage against you
because the brute is dead.
So that is just gonna be five points of piercing damage.
Okay.
It's second attack.
That is gonna miss because that is a 14.
Miss it.
Yes.
The one, one is confused.
The one that is behind Rowan at the front of the ship
is going to attack.
Warden's Duty.
Ooh.
It's going to attack Rowan.
He's within five foot of me, right?
The creature or Rowan?
Rowan is not.
Rowan's within five feet of Gruff.
Gruff's a little from.
Is that a Gruff fact?
A creature you can see attacks an ally
within five foot of you.
Yeah, so I think like, he's technically here,
Gruff is technically here.
Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, you can watch me do this.
He attacks me instead.
Alrighty, he attacks Gruff.
Thank you.
That means that two, there's gonna be two of them
attacking you, Gruff, because there was one
that's just jumped up that's gonna attack you as well.
So this is four attacks against Gruff.
Yes.
That boy is going off the ledge.
There he goes.
19.
He's off. Hit.
Right, first one hits.
Second one is only a 12. Miss. The next one's two attacks. First one's a natural one, that are a hit. Right, first one hits. Second one is only a 12.
Miss.
The next one's two attacks.
First one's a natural one, that's a miss.
Last one is a two, so only one hit, five piercing damage.
Doesn't even take up my campaign.
No, you've got armor evoking, dawn protecting you
as these four things just try and stab into you.
Both of the soldiers are confused.
They do nothing. They do all save at the end of their turn though. The both of the soldiers are confused. They do nothing.
They do all save at the end of their turn though.
Oh, that's true.
Yes, they make at least 15 saves.
First soldier fails, still confused.
Second soldier fails, still confused.
The crabling.
15 to beat.
Just got 15, 14 plus one.
So which one is that?
This crabling.
On the boat next to, I mean, I can't,
everyone's on the boat.
We're all here.
The one next to Mateo.
Mateo.
Okay.
Yes.
Still two of them, that's good.
Yeah.
Yeah?
Yeah, fantastic.
Yeah, the soldiers, I will say this,
you've picked up on it. Obviously that brute. Fantastic. Yeah. The soldiers, I will say this,
you've picked up on it.
Obviously that brute was big and strong.
These soldiers are definitely like
the kind of leaders of this attack.
We know them well.
They're the most tactical.
They're the most sort of like,
they seem to be able to do the most things.
They seem to be the biggest threats
now that the brute is dead.
I need to do a concentration check.
You do.
It'll be DC 10.
Constitution saving throw. 12 check. You do. It will be DC 10. Constitution saving throw.
12 plus four.
You're fine.
Because it's DC 10, which is the damage was only five.
So it's half the damage or 10, whichever is higher.
Constitution saving throw.
You will remember one day.
That is their turn, which means we go to Ophelia.
Splash, you are underwater about 20 feet from the surface.
I'm gonna say it's, no, because this thing's dead,
like you can just prise this thing off you, no problem.
Cool, yeah, can Ophelia do that?
She can just walk back up the side of the ship.
You have to swim up a little bit.
Can I reach out a hand for Xanthius first as well?
So you could spend your action
to basically get him out as well.
Yeah.
And then, yeah, if you,
then it's just you're both of you are just gonna move
at the same rate, I would assume.
I'm happy to do that.
Yeah, so yeah, as an action you get him free as well.
And yeah.
Yeah.
Thank you.
Well, check that, because I think it's now,
it lasts a bit longer, your Rage.
I have to physically extend it by...
Maybe a bonus action?
Rage last until the end of your next turn,
ending earlier if you don't have your Armour
or have an incapacitated condition.
If your Rage is still active, you can extend your Rage
by doing one of the following.
Making an attack, forcing an enemy to make a saving throw,
or take a bonus action to extend my Rage. So you haven't used your make a saving throw, or take a bonus action to extend my rage.
So you haven't used your bonus action.
Okay, so I'll take a bonus action to extend my rage.
So just keep your rage going,
you'll thump your chest a bit and keep your rage going.
Yep.
Perfect, okay.
So yeah, and then you wanna just use your movement
to get back up?
Yep.
Cool, so it's gonna be a half movement,
cause it's swimming.
I've got 50 feet.
Jesus Christ.
You are up on the ship if you want to be.
She just has a casual stroll back up onto the ship.
Like, do you want to just be back up on the ship?
Yeah, go on then.
Stickers back up here.
You jump back up onto the deck of the ship in the middle.
I just imagine you kick yourself off the craft.
Yeah, you should launch up.
Boom, land.
But you did use your action of Frisantius,
so that is going to be the end of your turn.
Nice. That puts me, so that is gonna be the end of your turn, Velia.
That puts me, the brute is dead,
which brings us to Xanthias.
Yeah, so with half my movement.
I forgot Mateo, I will take his turn.
Okay.
He's gonna take some damage
and then try and get out of this fucking net
is what he's gonna do.
So with half my movement, I only have 30 feet.
So I go 15 up.
So you're about five feet from the surface.
Is the boat moving?
No, Joran would have stopped it.
Okay, I guess I can see through the water.
He has a lever for a quick fold of the sails
or some bullshit.
Just a big button.
Yeah, he's got a lever.
Just like fold all the things up.
But I am also holding my breath, right?
You are, yes.
So I need anything that doesn't have a verbal component,
or I start.
Well, unless you want to start suffocating.
That could be fun.
That is all of my stuff.
But I will,
I'm gonna Chromatic Orb.
Okay.
And I'd like it to hit.
That has verbal? It does have verbal, but I'm going Chromatic Orb. And I'd like it to hit. That has verbal?
It does have verbal, but I'm going to use,
again, my feature, my sorcery, Subtle Spell
to not have to be a verbal component.
Okay.
I would say you can see anything on the right side
of the ship, which is three crablings right now.
So, the one in just the dead center there,
the one that's next to Mateo.
That's the one that broke free of the confusion.
Great, if he's suddenly looking cognizant,
I wouldn't be able to tell, I'm underwater and swimming a lot.
You just see a bunch of crab-like shapes with weapons on the deck,
thrusting, trying to kill your friends.
Yes, I will second level this.
Okay.
For a chromatic herb.
Did I want to bonus action first?
I didn't, so I won't.
Fuck my brain.
Right, I'm going to cast this at him, it's plus seven to hit.
Forget, you guys are stacked, in fact you can add it,
you just have to do it before the result of the roll.
Right, well either way I got a 21.
A 21 will hit.
Now I roll. 4d8, if any of these match, I believe.
Then it will bounce.
One, two, three, can I have another D8, please?
Thank you.
Oh, that's the one that matches my other dice.
Amazing, how could it be?
Oh, two ones and two eights.
Oh my god.
Is that two bounces?
If you roll the same number on two or more of the T8s,
it leaps to another target.
But then he rolls for this next leap, I believe,
because I think it does less damage.
Oh, I have to choose the damage type.
I was not paying attention.
Frost is no good.
Shut up, everyone shut up.
Ice is no good.
Acid might be good.
Ice, wait, ice was no good?
Thunder works? Thunder probably works. Fire no good. I, wait, ice was no good?
Thunder works?
Thunder probably works.
Fire no good.
I already said that.
Ice no good?
I said that.
The other options.
Thunder, lightning, lightning.
Now were they resistant to lightning?
One of them was because of the corals.
They've all got corals.
Did they do acid?
Did they do acid?
I'm gonna just use thunder.
Thunder?
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Okay.
And this is against the middle crabling.
Middle crabling.
Roll your damage.
What's the total damage, sir?
That is, so that's 16, 17, 18.
18 points of damage.
That's good.
You watch as the thunder strikes this creature.
Yeah. It does seem to have full effect. It strikes this creature. Yeah.
It does seem to have full effect, it's not resistant.
Nice.
You think this would have been a mortal blow,
but the creature sheds its kind of protective armored shell.
Yeah.
Which is-
It's not that it's skin aware.
If it is reduced to zero hit points,
I can reduce it to one hit point instead,
but its AC is now lower as it drops.
And you can see this kind of like fleshy,
like naked crab musculature, but it's still alive.
But it then bounces, correct?
Which target would you like it to bounce to?
I would like it to bounce to...
The one on the railing or the one right next to it,
on the right?
The one right next to it,
that's kind of in between Gruff and...
Yeah, that one's not confused either.
Yeah.
So it's another attack roll.
Another attack roll, so another...
I believe it does less damage each time, maybe?
Fuck! Piss! Tick!
It has max targets.
Nine damage. No, nine to hit.
I didn't use my fate. Nine.
I was gonna say, remember it. Nine is not a hit, I'm afraid.
Damn! Okay.
You have Barnac Inspiration.
You have Barnac Inspiration! Wait, I can use that after. You can Damn, okay. You have Barlick Inspiration. The Barlick Inspiration!
Wait, I can use that after.
You can use that after, you can use that after.
So nine plus four, 13.
13 against the Crabling.
This one has not shed its shell.
If you had fated as well, you probably would have hit,
but sadly, no chance.
Fine, no probes.
But something happens when you spend Barlick
on an attack roll, right?
It's a moat, yes, so it would have done extra lightning damage.
Extra lightning, nice, cool.
Okay, alright, so the bounce, unfortunately, this creature dives to the side
as the second part of the spell bounces away from it.
Just a super fast orb.
But yeah, this thing is like, it looks like one good hit.
It basically becomes a minion after this point.
It's a low AC, it's a minion.
Sweet.
So very weakened from below after this point. It's already a minion. So, very weakened from below.
This bolt, but you subtle spelled it.
So you're fine.
I subtle spelled it so I can also gain more runes.
Yes, that's true.
I gain another three runes.
In that case, we're back up to the top with Daisy.
Oh, hello.
It helps when a bunch of creatures
just don't do anything.
Yeah, yeah.
The wording on this is interesting. Go on then.
You tell me, master of all, most benevolent dungeon master.
It's been a while.
Immediately after the creature rolls the Bardic Inspiration Dice
to add it to an attack roll against the target,
the moat thunderously shatters.
Yeah?
The target and each creature of your choice
that you can see within five feet
must succeed on a common saving throw against the spell save DC, which he is...
So it doesn't say hit or miss?
No.
Just like after it happens.
So the target of the attack...
Which would have been this...
The one next to...
Yeah.
So I'd say, yeah, it does, it happens.
So what kind of... Is it a save?
Comm save DC.
Against two Crablings, basically.
One of which is the wounded one.
There's this guy as well.
Oh, there's that guy as well. Thank you.
First one fails, second one fails.
Third one, which is going to be the one behind Rowan, is going to succeed.
Okay.
Nice.
The failed ones will take a poppin, the Bardic Dice of damage.
What kind of damage?
And it is like thunder. Thunder damage. Well kind of damage? And it is thunder.
Thunder damage, well that one, you split the shell of it
and then it kind of sheds it still life
and then the moat breaks and this thunderous energy
and it collapses the now freshly kind of like
shell crab legs.
Oh that is so cool.
I love the moats.
We've got dinner.
The other one will take four points of damage as well.
Perfect.
What a combo, wombo, wombo, wombo.
Lovely combo, wombo.
Row woe, zany wany.
Zany wany and row woe.
Please stop.
Oh my god.
All righty.
Daisy, your turn.
I will.
Oo woo glom.
Oo woo row woe.
Gomshee from behind.
Nozzle's your neck you eggie. I quit, Iom. Ooh, oh, row, oh. Gomchi from behind.
Nozzles your necky, wakey.
Ooh, I quit!
Stop it!
I quit!
Stop it!
Hey!
I was about to take this for the...
Yowie paddle.
Do your own stream.
Okay.
My turn.
I'm going to stab the one on the railing.
Okay, yes.
I'm not throwing it, I'm stabbing.
Sure.
So I don't need to. Not range, nope.
It's normal melee.
19.
19.
19 will hit, and I'd say you have,
so Joran is within five feet of it, so.
Think you're set.
Mm.
Well, it looks good.
And it's really good. That looks good.
It's right.
It's the black We'll never stop.
And it's dead!
The blade pierces it and it does the same thing.
Its shell breaks and you can see it kind of loosens all that armor.
And now it's like...
It's like muscular.
Yeah, when you're in a section.
Was it the PC?
That was me. That was Tom.
Sorry, that was my disc, not yours.
16 plus eight.
You're a young man.
It's a minion, so yeah, you finish this thing off,
plunging your blade into it as its shell cracks.
Nice one.
Skill shot continues.
Yeah, very much so.
Anything else on your turn, David?
No, I'm good, thank you.
All right, Gruffith.
Can I hit the two crablings next to me? Just 10 day? No, I'm good, thank you. All right, Gruffeth. Can I hit the two Crabblings next to me?
Just with the staff?
No, with Call Lightning.
Well you can, but you'll hit either you or Rowan
where you target it, because the way they're positioned,
there's no way you can position the Lightning Bolt
without hitting the boat.
Yeah, I would be supercharged.
Can I possibly do it so it hits me rather than Rowan?
You can, you would literally target it on yourself.
It would hit the two Crammers. It will also potentially damage the ship.
Okay.
Because you are striking a lightning bolt into the deck, basically.
Is there anything I can hit? Like, who's that cursed boy down there?
There's the one at the back of the ship.
Yeah, the one at the back. Let's go for him.
It's just the one, though, so...
It's just the one boy, actually.
Just the one boy, actually. Same throw. Fails.
That confused boy. Come on.
3D pen. The soldiers are the ones that are resistant to lightning. Just the one boy, actually. Just the one boy, actually. Same throw, fails. That confused boy. Come on.
3D10.
The soldiers are the ones that are resistant to lightning.
Oh, yeah.
Wait up for it.
10 and nine and a three.
21.
Two.
22.
22, so 11 is resistant to lightning, remember.
So you watch as the lightning blasts the one at the back.
It's still confused, it's like stumbling around.
That coral does absorb some of the lightning.
It's confused and he's just like, what the hell?
Very much, yeah.
As it's struck by lightning, yeah, it works.
So that's your action.
Bonus action, I'm gonna Healing Word Ophelia.
Yeah, just a level one.
Okay. Thank you. I'm gonna use my Battle Medic to rer a level one. OK.
Thank you.
I'm gonna use my Battle Medic to reroll a one on that.
OK.
That's it.
Oh!
Five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten points of healing.
Ten points of healing.
Thank you, Gruff.
I did forget Mateo in the last round again.
I said I'd forgotten.
Oh!
So basically...
Excuse me.
I have Joran.
Well, yeah, I'm just saying, this is from the previous round.
I mean he would take six points of risk.
He didn't save, damn it.
No, he has to break free of it.
Now I try and break free.
Plus three.
He does.
So he spent his turn breaking free of the net.
He's like, oh god, that thing's awful.
He finally found what he was looking for.
He sort of looks up and sees this confused crab man
about, ah!
Okay.
Put me back in the net.
Who can I harpoon?
With Sojourner, he still has the confused crab man
in front of him.
Let's go three.
That is probably gonna miss.
Six, nine.
Miss, nice.
I roll a three again.
That's a miss. You can see that with Sojourner, he's a very competent fighter, Nice. I roll a three again. Oh, so serious.
You can see that with Sajorin,
like he's a very competent fighter,
but almost as he's making these blows,
like you can see him like wincing in pain,
and like, oh, he's like slow to move like his knee,
he has to almost like drag his knee
to like get into position,
and like every time he moves,
you can see him like wincing in pain,
like arthritic pain basically.
See, what it is is I've been playing a lot of Expedition 3,
so all I roll is threes now.
Yeah, it's fair.
Good time.
That is end of Sir Joran's turn.
Rowan is up next.
Rowan, whoa.
Okay.
Rowan is going to True Strike
that little, crumbling bugger right next to Gruff.
Okay. I know there's two.
I'll go for the orange one.
Yep, that's the one between Mateo and Gruff.
Yeah. True Strike.
True Strike good now?
True Strike good now.
True Strike not bad now.
We use word.
Why use many when one do?
No, I do. Sea World.
Sea World. We're all quoting the same thing.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
17.
17 will hit.
Yeah.
Wee.
Yeah.
That's the one closest to Graf, right?
Yeah.
Oh yes, he has not had his Carapace split yet.
Not yet.
Now, if it deals damage, it can be radiant,
or my normal damage, and.
I think you do an extra bit of damage, right?
An extra D6 as well, on top of my regular. D8. D8. Oh no, D10 think you do an extra bit of damage, right? An extra d6 as well on top of my regular.
D8.
D8.
Oh no, d10, because you use it too handy, right?
I kind of wanted to role play it not.
Okay.
D8 then.
Because it was so cramped.
Sure.
I love that.
That makes sense.
Can I, no, it's too late.
Six to four, 10.
Wait, yeah. One's a d. Six to four, ten. Wait.
One's a d8. One should be a d8.
Because a longsword is d8, Chris Tron.
You know what a d8 looks like.
Oh, fuck me.
Four plus...
Five. Five points of damage.
Five points of damage. Radiant.
Radiant. Yeah, the radiant strikes true. This blazing damage. Radiant. Radiant, yeah, the Radiant strikes true.
This Blazing Sword does cut through.
It doesn't quite strike as hard as perhaps
you would like it to, but...
Well, that's the True Strike replaces the Radiant damage.
Yeah, that's what I mean.
And it still...
No, it still does normal damage.
Tis weak to Radiant.
I've been hitting them with Radiant.
It's normal to Radiant.
When it's resistant to everything else.
Had it been just bludgeoning?
You don't know.
Anything else on your turn, Krestra?
No.
That's just your one action, you're just gonna make
one attack and then done.
Yes.
Okay.
After him it is the enemy's go.
Can I get a D2, D10 rolls please for the crab soldiers?
Yes, you can.
So starting with a dude right at the very back.
Yes please.
He chooses his behavior.
Oh.
They are free to act, they roll a ten.
They still can't make bonus actions or reactions I believe.
And you're concentrating on this aren't you?
No.
Oh well, he's still gonna come after you anyway.
So he swims round to the side.
He's just gonna be red mist.
Can you go for the other one
just before I make this one to tank?
He's not looking good.
Doesn't move or take action.
All right, and that's it.
So this crab soldier is going to...
In fact, as it's swimming towards you,
it pulls from its belt with its kind of crabbed hand,
this almost like bowler's made with that same kind of thunderous coral,
and it throws them underwater towards you.
That is a 14 to hit.
Yes, I guess, yep.
You doing anything about it?
Nah.
Okay.
What?
Does this do damage?
Yes!
I just attached you with a weapon.
A bowler though.
As it throws this bowler, wraps around,
and you can see it charges with a thunderous lightning
energy, storming energy, as the two things connect,
it explodes damage around you.
And it come in.
Is it just damage?
Yes. Yeah.
Fine.
You take, oh you are so lucky I just rolled awful damage. Yeah? Fine. You take, oh you are so lucky,
I just rolled awful damage.
Yeah?
That's only two points of lightning damage.
Oh, oh.
On 2d10.
I was gonna, oh wow.
You took Tim. Hey, precious ring!
That could have been 20 points of damage.
Yeah, right, holy crap.
Fine, I'll spend all my runes to reduce it.
Okay. Wait, eight.
You take no damage.
As it then closes the distance,
it's gonna try and claw strike you.
That is a 20 to hit.
I can't shield that.
It's a shame.
That is gonna be,
brr brr brr brr brr,
10 points of slashing range.
Oh.
It appears to be a damage roll.
One, two, three more runes, please.
That's what they're there for.
It's his mechanic.
It's a dice.
Just roll one again, Tom.
Yeah, it's a, it's D6, I believe.
I should know this.
Anyway, that's nine and then one more.
It's a minimum of one.
Three.
Yeah, the rune's just this absorption shield
of protective magic as this creature tries to slam into you with its strikes,
unable to do so.
You shoot.
The one on top does nothing.
The two crablings.
Sometimes I wish that you would just go down.
Oh.
The two crablings.
One's gonna attack Rowan, one's gonna attack Gruff.
Do you want to wardens again, Gruff?
Or you let him get hit?
I let it happen.
Alright, two attacks against Rowan.
16.
Punishment.
Rowan, 16.
Yes, no that won't...
19 to hit.
Yes.
Alright, that's five points of piercing damage to you.
And then to Gruff. Don't tempt me! five points of piercing damage to you. That's all you've got. And then, two points of rough.
Don't tempt me.
12 to hit rough.
Yeah.
19 to hit rough.
No.
No?
Yeah.
Oh, is it, yeah?
Five points of piercing damage.
Ha!
Yeah, I mean, you're doing your job.
As, yeah, these creatures try and strike you,
you resist their attacks, unable to.
We then go to, that is their go, Ophelia.
Yes, Ophelia, this dripping wet,
must messy, soggy woman jumping back onto the boat.
Siren!
After just having her hair brushed.
Cram soldier in front of you,
who is confused and is like unsure what to do,
but he's still protecting herself.
You still have the extra damage on that one.
Yes, Ja'Joran's Mark is still on it.
Yeah.
I'm gonna quickly, quickly.
So an extra four damage on each attack.
Yep, I'm gonna go for it.
I'm gonna attack. And you are raging, so.
Yes, seven for the first attack.
Seven is not going to hit.
16 for the second one.
Against the soldier.
Yah.
That is gonna be a miss, I'm afraid.
Ooh.
Should have been Daisy.
Oh, and fate.
It's kind of.
Could have done, have to announce it.
Could have reckless.
I could have reckless, but I wanted to just believe
that the dice would give me something.
I have a belief.
I know.
Anything else in your turn for you?
Bonus action?
Bonus action to see what I've got in one thing of butts.
Grumble, grumble, grumble.
Grumble, grumble, grumble, grumble.
Grumble, grumble, grumble.
I don't think I've got anything as a bonus action,
really, apart from raging, so.
You have to use it to extend rage.
I can extend.
She attacks.
Oh yeah, she attacks, so she's fine.
I, yeah.
Fine, nothing.
I'm just gonna stay here and be grumpy and wet.
Mateo, I'm gonna remember him this time.
Here we go.
Draws a Rapier.
Ah!
Rapier now.
Yeah, he got a Rapier, he bought one
before he came out on this adventure.
In fact, he's got a Rapier in one hand
and Scalebane in the other.
And he's gonna bonus action attack.
He's dual wielded.
He's gonna give that name by the end of this one.
He's gonna attack the crab soldier in front of him.
Oh, actually no, he's gonna go for the weaker crabling.
He looks at that thing.
No, that looks scary.
He sends rampages to the other little guy.
Have you used one, or the?
The crabling, he's gonna go for the crabling
next to Gruff and Rowan.
With his Dashing Rapier, a 14, I believe,
is not going to be enough, no. it glances off the creature's armor.
Then he thrusts with Scalebane, natural 20.
Oh!
Best of us.
It's only a D4 plus another four, plus another one.
Killing blow.
Dainty.
Six, seven points of damage.
Enough to shock this motherfucker.
Not enough, he like scrapes on with a rapier
and then he like thrusts with the dagger
and catches it in like a joint of its plates.
He's like, got you, you son of a bitch.
No!
But he does not kill it, unfortunately.
Truly the best of us.
After Mattel.
He's just standing there with a dagger like,
he has to do the best of us. That thing is dead. Zan standing there with a dagger like, yes, I'm doing the best I can.
That thing is dead.
Zan Zan, the Ban Ban Man.
Zan Zan, the Ban Ban Man is ready to take his turn,
turn, turn.
I would like to start off by shocking grasp.
I'm underwater.
You're underwater.
It'll go fine.
Is there an explicit rule about lightning underwater?
That's not an explicit rule.
It's just physics. All for rule. It's just physics.
Water physics.
It's just physics, man.
You don't have any fate to spend.
I don't need to.
I'm a DM.
Okay.
The fate works in a very constructed way
that I've explained.
I can still just choose to do things.
Yeah, that's true.
That's true.
Well, either way, I'm gonna Shocking Grasp
because I don't want this guy to attack me.
You are a mage.
I think you are skilled enough to make sure
the magic doesn't blow back onto you,
but you're not sure what...
I'll Shocking Grasp away from it
and then funnel the electric blast in the water,
which I have full control of, onto this thing.
It's a plus seven to hit.
Bam!
26.
Hits.
For 2d8 of damage.
Excellent.
As you strike this thing with lightning damage,
the coral on its armor absorbs half of it.
Yeah, I know.
Nine, but it can't take reactions.
It can't take reactions.
Which it couldn't do anyway because it was confused.
Is that already halved, the nine?
No.
So, four.
Four points of damage.
It couldn't take reactions anyway.
Because it was confused.
So I didn't need to do that.
No.
I'm going to swim up to the boat.
Okay.
So, I guess it's what, 10 feet of movement
to get up to the surface.
And then you can clamber up.
And then-
I'm going to make a roll, it's easy enough.
There's like rigging on the side and stuff.
The very full boat.
And then I'm going to, as a bonus action,
cast Arcane Vigor!
A heal on just me!
Just me!
Just you!
Spends my hit dice.
Yes.
Like an early hit dice spend.
How many hit dice do I have?
If you don't mind, I'm gonna leave you with that
as I move on, so you can just heal yourself. Sorry, you're not entertained. Not by you. I can make it more fun if you want. Talking about your hit dice do I have? If you don't mind, I'm gonna leave you with that as I move on, so you can just heal yourself.
Sorry, are you not entertained?
Not by you. I can make it more fun
if you want.
Talking about your hit dice, no.
I'm trying to find my hit dice on my board.
Days. Where's it gone?
Okey doke.
Oh, it's me. You have to tap your HP,
I believe.
It's me. You'd think so, wouldn't you?
Can I...
Can I...
He's having a moment.
I mean, there is a way to do it, I know there is.
Yeah, I got it.
Can I stabby stab the one next to Ser Jorah?
Yep, yep.
That is caught.
That's why I'm doing it.
Tom's having a moment.
18.
18 would normally hit the soldier.
Oh, they can't use reactions while they're confused,
can they? No.
They should have saved at the end of their turn, Thomas.
For the confusion.
You are so right.
They didn't, but I'm gonna roll it now.
I'm brave for saying it as well.
At the end of their turn, okay.
One on the deck that Daisy is currently striking,
that is gonna succeed, so it's an 18.
One next to you that was previously next to you, 12.
Fails, still confused.
Cool. So that one on the deck, Daisy,
is gonna use its Toxin Spine Shield to make that miss.
Because that makes it a miss, it gets to shield bash you.
Four, 16.
Just.
That is gonna be six points of piercing damage,
and I need a Constitution saving throw from you
as its poisonous spines embed into your skin.
Can I use fate, please?
You absolutely can, please do.
Finally!
Oh, God, I've got some!
Nom, nom, nom, nom, nom!
Yum, yum, yum.
That is...
Oh, 18 plus five plus...
You succeed.
My bonus.
Yep, you're fine.
No poison for you.
Now you may resume.
I try again. Yep, may resume. I try again.
Yeah, bonus action.
Try with a duck, I guess.
Yep.
21.
That does hit.
You've not used Sneak Attack,
so you do get to add Sneak Attack.
Hoo hoo!
Hoo hoo!
Hoo hoo!
Hoo hoo!
Hoo hoo!
Gruff, you are up next, followed by Sojourn.
Mm. Mm. Gruff, you are up next, followed by Sjorn. 17 damage.
17 points of damage.
All right, that one is looking pretty rough.
Bloodied.
That is making me.
Bloodied, buggered.
End of turn. Gruff?
I would like to attack the crabling next to me that has the potential to attack Mateo.
I think orange crabling.
I'm going to use a fate to just add to my roll.
Yummy.
What did you do?
Why did you go and kill it again?
What did we tell you? You can only come back to the table when you're all good.
Is there a one?
I'm assuming that's a miss.
Well, two and a one.
Two and a one.
That's a shame.
Sir Joran's turn.
Sir Joran's turn.
At least you're giving me...
Enjoy your pain, bud, don't worry.
Kim, don't... Don't pop this up.
It's okay, you got me in chances.
I would actually, as Groff, I'd like to,
just because I want to do something, you know?
I just want to contribute somehow, financially,
metaphorically, physically.
I will Healing Word,
who's looking super fucked right now?
Xanthias.
Well, as an update, I'm sorry if this is boring,
I added another 10 HP with four of my hit dice.
I know, cool.
The you rolling, it was the you stabbing at your iPad,
waffling about finding hit dice.
I was like, okay, let me just move on in the initiative.
I agree, I would have done the same.
10 points of healing to Zanthias.
Thank you.
And then Sajora, I'm just gonna harpoon
whoever the fuck is next to me.
Creature iPhone.
18. Plus six. 18 plus six.
That will hit.
So Jorah can really hit.
10, 11.
That's something that I've noticed.
Best of us.
Yeah.
Not anymore.
Nine plus six is.
Fuck that guy.
I thought he was fair from the beginning.
15 to hit.
No.
So how much damage on the first one?
10.
No, 11.
You said 11.
11. And then 15 on the first one? 10. No, 11. You said 11. 11.
And then 15 on the next attack.
To hit.
Is not enough.
It's Armand Carpus, we protect it.
That it?
That's the end of your turn?
Alrighty.
Just leave me.
Can I get a D10 roll for the one in the sea, please?
The one in the sea.
The one in the sea do be making big moves.
I'll just roll.
The target doesn't move,
and it takes the attack action to make one melee attack
against a random creature within reach.
If there is none, no.
It does have a ranged weapon.
Melee attack.
Ah, it does do nothing.
Well, it's actually Robin's turn first anyway.
I'm straight.
Dissonant Whispers, second level.
Ant, I'm gonna go for the blue one.
Oh, the one behind you.
Yes. Okay, the Crabbling.
If it fails, it has to move as far away from me as possible.
It'll drown.
Wisdom save and throw?
Wisdom save, 14, please.
Wait, wasn't one of these wankers frightened of me?
Yeah, the one in front of you.
Orange.
Yeah, the one that was at the far end.
It's just, yes.
We've both got it. Life is short.
Next time I remember the rings.
Life is short.
Yeah, that succeeds. 13.
It's not even... Fails.
Fails, that's what I mean.
14 points of psychic damage.
Psychic damage?
It's armored carapace ability,
I will say will not work against this,
because it's mind damage.
It just kills it, it's armored carapace
doesn't protect it from a psychic damage.
This thing just kind of convulses
and then just collapses on the ground onto the deck.
The dissonant whispers are just
pew pew boo boo boo pew pew boo boo. It's quite annoying.
Ah, pfft.
Here you go, here's your boy.
Thank you, my little boy.
Excellent, well that was your action, Robin.
It was my action, and for my bonus action,
I will look to Xanthias once again,
with a glint in my eye, and say,
you buddy, you are doing Gruff proud.
Barley inspiration.
I am doing Gruff proud.
Love it.
Inspiration, thank you.
Gruff rolls his eyes.
I'm doing so well.
You're the best child.
I know.
Second to Mateo, apparently.
Yes.
Oh, we never said that there was an order.
Mateo's like, I never said that there was an order.
I just said we were the two favorites.
All right, end of turn, Rowan?
End of turn.
All right, the bad guy's turn.
The one in the sea we already know is confused.
It tries to attack at something that isn't there.
It does nothing.
The one on the deck is surrounded at this point.
He is no longer cursed.
He is no longer cursed.
I think at this point, all you guys would hear
is like a shrill, kind of wailing, wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Thomas, can we have a TikTok compilation of fun sounds? Mark's weird noises.
I could, I could, I could. Whoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo No, no, no, no!
Jump into the ocean, this one's gonna jump into you
from this side.
But the other one is confused.
The other one is confused, it's not gonna do anything.
So that's gonna be five feet of its movement
to jump in the water, and then it's just basically
gonna swim down.
I still don't know what they're doing.
Can I just, wow.
Jump into the scarlet water.
That's a niche one.
Scarlet water.
I sort of call lightning up.
It's not your turn, mate.
Okay.
Might be able to do something.
They are however 30 feet down under the water.
So they're 30 feet under the water.
So it's 120 feet.
The diffraction.
60 foot cylinder that's 10 feet tall.
10 feet tall is not very tall.
Because you can't target a point underwater.
But it is lightning though.
10 feet underwater and that's bright.
Maybe.
I should be grass-hued.
We'll find out on Gruff's turn.
That's their turn.
Ophelia.
Ophelia's gonna dive in after these mofos.
Oh no, you don't!
Okay.
He's gonna spread out.
After the ones that are running away?
Yes.
So, five,
10, and then your movement is half at that point.
You can get to the one furthest away because you're so quick. If you have 10, then your movement is half at that point.
You can get to the one furthest away because you're so quick.
I am so fast.
So that's the one that's currently marked as well.
It is, yeah.
All right, you swim up to him.
Resty out, just plunge it into this guy.
Full charge.
Yes, please, I would like to face, please.
Yes, please, yes, please.
Yes, please. I would like to face, please.
Yes, please, yes, please.
Good.
25 to hit.
We'll hit.
Finally.
Fucking me.
She needed this.
Right.
I'm going to use, I have two points of blood points,
so I'm going to spend one,
adding a D6 to my damage.
Yes, and then you get your Ragebroness
and the plus four from the mark.
And I also have a feature where I can roll my damage twice
and I can use the highest one.
Does that include the D6?
Did you say, or did you just say it?
Yeah, I'd say, yeah, it would include, yeah.
Sweet as a nut.
Because I'd say that your blood,
I would say it would only,
you can only reroll the blood point damage
because it's part of the weapon attack.
If this was an enchantment from fire or some other effect,
you wouldn't get to reroll that damage dice.
Nice, nice, nice. And can I mix and match?
What do you mean?
Can I take the highest D6 and the highest...
If they're...
You roll both and you choose the highest on the dice, basically.
Okay, okay. Well, I got a 6 on my d6, and I got a seven on my d8.
Take those, please.
So that's 13 plus 14, 15,
and I'm raging 16, 17, and the four,
so that's 21.
21 points of damage.
Nice.
It is bloodied and badly wounded as it spins,
not expecting in a million years
that you were gonna dive literally 30 feet underwater,
just swimming up to this thing
and then ramming it with your rapier.
That does trigger Vex,
so you have advantage on this next roll anyway.
I'll take another one, please.
you have advantage on this next roll anyway. I'll take another one please!
Don't worry about it.
No?
Yeah, don't worry about it.
Is that what you need to do really?
Nah, I didn't need to do that, did I actually?
Nah, I didn't really.
Yeah, it's a bit much.
I should have just left it at one to be honest.
What did you roll on the dice?
I think I got a six.
The highest.
Yeah.
Cool that, isn't it?
It's just crazy how that happens sometimes.
It's crazy.
It is crazy, why do you not believe that?
That's pretty much your full turn, right?
It is, yeah.
Nice, all right.
That is Ofili's turn.
It would then be Mateo's turn.
Mateo will dive in.
No.
He will look and be like,
So Joran, does that big crossbow at the front work?
And he's just like, aye.
He's gonna run to the ballista at the front.
Nice.
Spin it round.
It does have the arc on it.
It does, yeah, it's a 360 arc.
It did throw me into the ocean getting there.
And he's gonna look down, and the one that is like, is about 30 feet under the water,
he's gonna try and get that one, he like points it down.
He then looks, he's like, oh, what does this chain do?
And he hooks it to the harpoon, and then he fires it.
So as a bonus action, he hooks the chain to it,
and then he's gonna fire this.
He is the best of us.
I'm gonna consider him, he's not proficient with this,
but I will give him this reminds me of the time of,
so he'll be like, you know what,
this reminds me of the time of
when I was a sharpshooter in the army.
Wow.
For a 17 to hit.
Ooh.
Which will hit the crabling.
Yeah, it hits the crabling for...
Damn.
For nine points of damage.
Not enough to kill it, but the harpoon pierces through
its body as this chain then begins to unravel
and then as it tries to get away, he's like, I've got one!
He's there on the front of the crossbow.
That is gonna be Matteo's turn.
This guy.
Zan.
Can I Sorcerous Burst the creature
that Ophelia is chased after?
You absolutely can.
Even though it's like super underwater.
I mean it's 30 feet underwater,
what kind of, what Sorcerous Burst are you doing?
I'm doing Psychic.
Psychic?
Psychic Sorcerous Burst.
I think that would work underwater.
Seeing that it works so well with Robo.
And you can choose psychic for sorceress burst?
I can choose psychic.
Sounds great to me.
Assuming that I'm on his psychic, I believe it is.
That's kind of a new thing.
And you have to be able to see the target, I'm assuming.
Within range.
120 feet.
Yeah.
I don't even need to see it.
Don't even need to see it, apparently.
I don't even need to know it exists Don't even need to see it, apparently.
I even need to know it exists.
Somewhere there.
I can do it.
Where?
There.
I will say, I will give you disadvantage on this
because it is underwater,
so it would normally be like invisible
because it's so deep underwater, it's hard, it's obscured,
so I'm gonna give you disadvantage on it, it's that wrong.
Ba ba ba.
He was so excited.
Ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba. I rolled aop. He was so excited.
I rolled a 10.
10 is not enough.
Yeah, that's sharp.
Sorcerous energy, as it enters the water,
it's hard to see where this creature is, it's kind of displaced.
I think even if I faked it, 16 would have been...
Not against that soldier, not enough.
And that is all she wrote.
All she wrote, all righty.
Then we go up to the top with Daisy.
Can I walk over to where Mateo is,
and can I try and throw at disadvantage, I guess,
at the one he's got?
Yeah, the range on your throwing blades is like,
60 feet.
Yeah, so it's just the disadvantage from being unable to see it properly.
I'll just move Daisy appropriately. to see it properly. Just move.
Oh yeah, sorry. I don't hit it.
No?
No, I rolled a three.
All right.
Try with my dagger.
You can do that, Katie.
God.
Oh, okay, hang on.
Disadvantage of the dagger is still a 15 plus eight.
It's still a hit.
Doesn't have an ally. This is the one that Mateo's har's still a hit. Yeah. Yeah. Doesn't have an ally.
This is the one that Matteo's harpooned, right?
Yeah.
Okay.
I don't get a sneak attack on him.
No.
Two.
No, wait, no.
Seven.
Do you consider the point of a harpoon to be an ally?
Seven.
Yes.
That cracks its shell,
so it kind of causes the armor to break off,
and this thing is now like.
Shocked. So hungry. Get shocked. Get shocked. Just got one hit point. So it kind of causes the armour to break off, and this thing is now like... Shucked!
So hungry.
Get shucked.
Get shucked.
It's got one hit point.
The gruff.
Can I call lightning on the cursed thing off the side?
Yeah.
Cool.
Oh yeah, that'd do.
Dex thing.
Three of them.
Seven, fails.
Seven, eight, nine, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15,
16 points of lightning.
16 points of lightning damage.
It is still resistant, unfortunately, so eight.
You're like a bastard.
It is still awake, but it's just so confused still.
These things are really tough, but unable to fully strike,
especially being resistant to lightning.
Yeah.
Anything else, Gruff?
If not, Sojorin.
I don't think so, no.
With Sojorin, I would like to...
Heavy crossbow.
Ooh.
I thought it hit one.
He's not as good with it, but he pulls it off his back.
Can I shoot the one...
Ooh, where should we go? The one Ophelia's fighting?
So the two that Ophelia...
The one that Ophelia is fighting and the one that's been harpooned,
both have disadvantage because they're deep underwater. The one that is cursed is closer to the surface one that's been harpooned, both have disadvantage because they're deep underwater.
The one that is cursed is closer to the surface,
only five feet from the surface, basically.
What's so cursed, boy?
No disadvantage.
Oh, no.
He's not as good with that, unfortunately.
Yeah.
But we're just going to move on,
we're not going to draw too much attention to it.
Do I not get a second attack?
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, you do.
Oh, yeah, sorry, I thought you'd rolled two attacks.
Oh, you rolled the damage, I see. Okay, so yeah, you can get a second attack? Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh yeah, sorry, I thought you rolled two attacks. Oh, you rolled the damage, I see.
Okay, so yeah, you get a second attack,
he like reloads the crossbow and then attacks.
Here it comes.
Here's the one.
Oh, there it is, oh god.
What was it?
It's been nice knowing you, Kim.
Take a minute, take a minute.
There was a one and a one on the 10 as well.
God, she's shit at this game, isn't she?
God, it shocked me.
That's crazy.
Role play on point.
Rolling dice, though?
That's awful.
Oh shit. You're only allowed to be good at one. Yeah, he can't be good at both. That's why I'mle play just on point. Rolling dice though? Holy shit.
You're only allowed to be good at one.
Yeah, he can't be good at both.
That's why I'm so good at rolling dice.
It's hard not to use Dissonant Whispers again, so I will.
Upon cursed one.
Oh, she's gonna give it another go.
She's all right.
Sit back, just give her a minute.
Dissonant Whispers, ispers save for it. 14.
14 is a successful save, unfortunately.
Okay.
That's 18.
Two on a successful save.
Half damage.
It's 3d6 because I'm doing only a first level.
Okay.
So, five.
Just five points. Is that already half?
That's already halved.
Oh, perfect.
Yeah, I mean, it looks really rough in this state of confusion,
just does not know what's going on,
as its mind is assailed, but unfortunately still standing.
Its mind is assailed and I am bowed.
Anything else, Ro?
Assailed!
Anything else?
Ro, Ro, Dun, Dun.
Can I get a D10 roll for this cursed boy?
Doesn't do anything.
Doesn't do anything?
I'll just make a saving throw for him now.
Yeah, yeah.
Fails with that one.
He's still confused.
Oh my god, this guy.
This thing is close to the surface.
The rest of them are swimming away or dead,
whatever you want to do.
The two, the harpoon one is just gonna try
and remove itself off the harpoon.
It's gonna try and pull this harpoon out of its body.
Would that damage it by pulling the harpoon out of its body.
Maybe, but it fails to do it, so it's trapped on it.
Can't do anything.
The crab one is gonna turn around on Ophelia
as you swarm up to it.
Did you reckless?
Yep.
You didn't?
No, she didn't.
I just used the fight.
That's true.
I did.
Dammit, I wanted to have all my dings.
Uh.
Say what?
Let's go.
Crab attack.
Crab attack?
Crab attack.
20 to hit.
Yeah.
That's the first thing.
Second.
That's a dirty 20.
Seven on the second one.
No, no hit.
No hit.
First one does...
10 points of piercing damage, so half to five.
That's cool beans, bro.
Nice, that is their turn.
We go to Mateo.
He's like, oh, I can't really fire another one.
I've got this one hooked.
What does this winch do?
He starts winching.
As it drags the thing 15 feet towards the boat.
Oh, just straight up, just on the ship again.
It's just like, well, it's 15 feet.
He was 30 feet underwater, I forget.
So he's about, yeah, he's 15 feet.
Oh, he's got keel-hauled.
He's just like.
Oh, and barnacles on the bottom.
I got one!
Catch of the day coming in.
Isn't it a little nice to sprinkle in?
Yes.
Keel-hauling?
Oh, dude, no.
In my will.
No, no one wants to be keel-hauled.
I'll do it. What is keel-hauling? Drag down the boat. No one wants to be key hold. I'll do it.
What is key holding?
Dragged on the tip of the...
Bad. Yeah, it's bad.
Against all the barnacles.
Oh, right. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
This one's hook, line and sinker.
Oh, I hate it.
I think you got the point.
That's Bateria's turn.
He just winches this thing in.
Zan Zan.
I didn't think.
It's been so quick all of a sudden.
I'll do another sorceress best.
Psychic.
Psychic against...
Is it a phoenix guy?
Yes.
Did you not have one?
No.
My apologies.
That's all right.
Then you may go. Yeah, go ahead.
Because Tom doesn't know what he's doing.
I was thinking that guy was dead.
For some reason I saw a universe in which you did have your turn.
I'm foreshadowing it now. That thing's dead.
I was thinking, question two of the team,
do we want to keep any of these alive
as we can lead them to information?
Have any of them spoken any common?
Well, they've made noises, but they clearly can communicate with each other, but... I think it is true. I can't lead them to information. Have any of them spoken any common?
Well, they've made noises, but they clearly can communicate with each other.
I think it is true.
Animals, not creatures.
Hey, you're deep underwater and raging.
And raging.
And we've got one captured.
Alright, yeah, I'll just kill it. Alright. Cool. Alright. Fine.
Fine, I'll kill it.
Attack. Fine, I'll kill again, I guess.
Fate, please. I would like to swing voracity towards the board.
I keep forgetting to add some damage.
I haven't done it in this game.
There's no bargaining with them.
Come on, buddy, buddy, buddy, buddy.
22.
Does hit and I can't shield it.
Okay, nice, we're going.
And I'm gonna do my other blood point.
And then my D8.
I love my re-rolling magic again. and I'm gonna do my other blood point, and then my D8.
And my re-rolling magic again.
So let's see, a seven and a five, so 12 plus four,
16, 17, 18, 19, 20 damage for that one. 20 points of damage.
You watch as Verasty pierces through this creature's
sort of abdomen, this shelled carapace abdomen,
as this blue gelatinous blood just begins to spread out
and it thrashes around trying to lash at you
as you see the life of it fading away
as it just begins to float in the water dead.
What does blood smell like?
What does the blood smell like?
Is it like, it's blue blood.
Fishy. Fishy blue blood.
I mean, it's hard, you're underwater,
you can't really smell. Can it feel like, scoop some up in like an empty bottle? Just like, me blue blood? Fishy. Fishy blue blood. I mean it's hard, you're underwater, you can't really smell.
Can I feel like, scoop some up in like an empty bottle?
Just like, oh my god.
Do you have an empty bottle?
Well I tried to use an empty bottle the night before
and it didn't work, cause I have an empty bottle.
Okay, sure.
You're in the sea.
It's diluted, it's like squash.
Very diluted gelatinous blue. Grab a blood.
Do some for the road, just in case.
All right.
Just any blood.
Any blood at this point, yeah.
Yeah.
You have blood!
Just in case.
You have?
Just in case.
I remember the play, man.
You have!
I'm gonna start swimming back to the boat.
Okay.
Top 10 moment.
I think that literally gets you back on board.
What?
What?
What?
What?
What? What? What? What?
Amelia jumps back on board. Hey, welcome back.
Hi.
Hi.
Big one's dead.
Oh.
All right.
Thank you, Thomas.
Anything else, Amelia, on your turn?
Can I, oh, which movement have I got?
In which case it will be Zanzan's turn.
I'm just gonna stay where I am.
Yeah, I'm good.
Thank you.
See Zanners.
Wow, that's, wow.
Tom. Wow.
I'll move over to the other side of the ship.
The confused one is currently just unable to what to do,
and not the one that has been harpooned and captured.
I will Sorcerous Burst with Psychic.
Sorry about the big roll there.
That's a 23.
That will hit.
Sorry about the big roll there, that's a 23. That will hit.
It's, it's, it's.
So it's 2d8 of, where's my d8?
There, of psychic damage.
Don't touch them.
Oh my god, if I roll an eight, which I have,
I roll another d8.
Seven and eight.
15.
And another four, 19.
You watch as this creature just holds its claw to its head,
it rides, shaking around,
and then just this blue gelatinous blood
begins to leak out of its head, cat, crab-like head,
and just, it just begins to float and drift upwards
to the top of the ocean.
Hell yeah.
As it is also slain.
At this point, with the other crabling material finishes
like winching it up and it's now just dangling off
the side of the ship, reaching,
but it's like a steel chain,
it's trying to pull itself free, but it can't.
As the harpoon also has like a hooked end,
so it's like trying to get itself free,
it just physically can't.
You guys are out of combat, effectively.
Oh, very nice.
How's everyone looking?
Fine.
Eh, absolutely fine.
Oh really, you were untouched?
Well, because of the 10 hit points,
I got like, yeah.
I got two hit points off.
Whoa!
Wow.
When I don't hit Gruff, it's a problem.
When if I'm hitting other people,
Gruff just sits there like taking no damage.
I have to hit him really hard with like big blows
to like do anything.
What a boss.
Yeah.
How's Ophelia?
Cause you were rough at the start.
Yeah, lower than half.
Okay.
Yeah, I'm just under half.
Nice.
Is everybody okay?
We're all good.
That was very sudden.
That was so quick.
You can see like Joren's like,
he's like, you know,
pushing like knuckles into like gaps of his arm
like, god damn joints.
Mateo, that was so good with that ballista and the chain.
What, where did that come from?
Well, I literally saw it.
Yeah.
The whole, cause I was on the floor in that net.
You were on the floor.
And the whole time I was looking at it,
I was like, what about that? I want to use that. You did. And I used it and I was on the floor in that net. You were on the floor. And the whole time I was looking at it, I was like, what about that?
I want to use that.
You did.
And I used it and I got up and I was like,
you've captured it.
What do we do with this thing now we've got it?
I don't know.
I was trying to kill it.
I didn't think of trying to capture it.
I just tried to kill it.
I think I can speak to it.
Okay.
Let me give it a go.
Okay.
I'm going to cause.
You, Rowan, I mean Gruff, you both,
Please.
You saved my life.
I thought I was gonna.
Honestly, that's the worst situation I've ever been in.
But I did tell you this was gonna be rather dangerous.
I know, but I didn't expect that this would be so cramped.
Yes.
Or that we'd be ambushed.
Yes. That was easier when we- Lessons learned? I think so, yeah be so cramped. Yes. Or that we'd be ambushed. Yes.
That was easier when we-
Lessons learned?
I think so, yeah.
Or fell off.
I hide now.
That's not a bad idea.
Sounds wise.
Before he did that, I was healing Sajoran.
Okay, so you go after him.
For 12 hit points.
You see that when you heal Sajoran,
you do heal him, but it doesn't help with the pain,
and he's just like, thanks, Gruff.
He just sort of grunts, and he's just like,
he's like, we need to, do you guys,
do you want to, do you want to check out any of the bodies
or do anything here, or shall I raise anchor
and get us going?
Oh, well, there was a big one that went deep underwater now. I think it's long gone.
But the rest of them, there's some on the boat.
Yeah, can we investigate the ones that are on the boat?
Yeah, yeah, what do you want to investigate?
What do you want to find out?
You've got several of these dead crablings.
See if they've got anything on them, like...
Yeah, I mean, like, the only things on them,
you know, the remains of the nets that they threw,
most of them have been ripped and torn
or broken apart from missing.
There's a couple of these, like, tridents,
but they're made of, like, stone, like, sea stone
that's been shaped and sharpened.
They don't have, like, clothing or possession.
At most, they have, like, shells
and, like, strung on, like, pieces of seaweed
that have been knotted and dried and tightened into a rope.
They have shells.
They have, almost all of them have a brand
on a part of their carapace.
Looks like it's been scratched in rather than burnt on
of a giant tooth's more that's been branded into them.
The sea tridents.
Did you say sea stone tridents?
Sea stone, okay, so not good for Gruff to use.
I mean, they're just stone tridents, basically.
They're pretty primitive.
You could use one, like it's a perfectly serviceable weapon.
I'm going to stash them.
But I couldn't shillelay it, because it's...
It's a trident, it's not a spear, it's's not a Staff, so you know, yeah, so no.
You can't Shalala.
No, not interested.
Is the one with the coral markings on it here, or was it the one that...
They both died in the water, so like they have floated next to the ship.
You could go in there and try and, yeah.
Yeah, I was hoping to...
Unless you were going to take a look at it.
Yeah, I would look at it, we can look at it together.
You can fish it out.
It's not difficult to like haul this dead body
up onto the deck.
Just a lovely father-son task to do.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
This won't be awkward.
You haul it up onto the deck of the ship.
This one definitely, you can see it's got, you know,
stronger musculature.
There is something awfully human about like
underneath all the carapace,
underneath all the sort of chitin and tendrils and spines,
its shape is human.
Underneath the giant crab-like top half of its head,
its lower jaw and bottom lip are distinctly humanoid.
Like, person.
You really like this human in monsters thing at the moment.
I explained some of it,
it makes a lot of sense canonically,
but you definitely see this kind of thing.
You know like in Warframe,
when they have the giant kindness head,
but they still have the human lower jaw kind of like, and then it's kind of got like,
carapace all around the neck.
Oh, human teeth.
Wake up, babe.
DM just mentioned Warframe.
The spine shields, you could try and salvage them
and use them, there is a risk that you accidentally
sort of hit yourself with these rather nasty looking spines.
The other weapon was a claw.
And then, yeah, kind of embedded into their carapace
or attached via straps of this kind of sinewy seaweed rope
is this purple coral.
Yeah, can I...
The purpose of my investigation of this
is I'd like to use the Final Fantasy Move Scan.
I want to identify, A, how to disable it,
and B, what it is actually protecting them from.
Mm-hmm. So it's Arcana check.
Arcana check.
Kidoke.
Which, if you use the gold tie, you will have advantage on.
That is investigation.
Oh, that's right.
Not Arcana.
Correct.
Sorry for the large story there. I did it again.
Unnatural 20.
Unnatural 20.
Yeah, investigating this thing,
with Xenthus, it's not really that you've read up on this,
but judging by it and sort of sensing the magic from it.
Using light sorceress bursts of various different.
Yeah, first of all, you can determine that it protects
the creature bearing it from thunder and lightning damage. Okay, first of all you can determine that it protects the creature bearing it
from thunder and lightning damage.
Okay, oh thunder as well.
Yeah, the Crablings don't have this,
only the soldiers have this.
Oh yes, yeah, yeah.
Some sort of natural coral that seems to harness
thunder and lightning energy.
You do think that maybe there's an upper limit
to how much each piece can take,
and that's why it has multiple pieces spread over its body,
probably suggesting that there's some sort of upper limit
to how much the damage they can take before they break,
but it sort of channels away,
almost like a little bit of a lightning run,
and it keeps the energy within it.
I mean, in fact, the one that you're examining,
because it was struck by lightning a few times,
pieces of it are charged with like
a crackling thunderous energy.
Cool.
Okay.
And in fact, you remember,
because it threw those bolas at you,
those bolas were made of the same sort of substance.
Okay, okay, cool.
So the way to disable them is just overload them
with that element.
That would be a way to, you don't think that there's really a way to disable them is just overload them with that element. That would be a way to...
You don't think that there's really a way to disable them.
Even if you're trying to destroy specific pieces,
the soldiers have got like six or seven different pieces on them.
It's not like they're connected, so if I cut one, all comes off.
Yeah, okay.
But yeah, you do think that if you hit them with enough lightning and thunder energy,
it probably would break eventually.
Okay. Okay, good to know.
But probably quite a limit, you know,
you're probably looking at like 50 points of damage upwards,
you know, to try and break them.
So Gruff, I like look up, see you looking at me
and then look back immediately.
These, this coral was protecting them from the lightning
and all of that damage,
but I think if we keep sustaining that damage onto it,
it will destroy the coral.
If we see any more coral like this,
it probably all does the same thing.
Smart.
Good work, Boyle.
Thank you.
Really good work.
I did good.
Good observation.
Thank you for finding that out.
Oh.
So I've got like a really salty mouth after all that.
Yeah, we were.
Yeah, I do have to drinking some of this blood.
Why did?
Sorry, what?
Don't drink that blood, don't drink that blood.
The blue stuff?
It's a bit salty and it's got a lot of water in it.
It's a bit weak.
But the blood itself is strange.
Is it doing anything?
It's fishy.
Is it doing a failure thing?
Not a whole lot, that's too weak.
This thing off the side is just mumbling.
Oh, it's still trying to get itself free.
Go speak to it.
Hello, comprehend languages.
Comprehend languages, can you just read out to me
what that does?
I think it's some kind of a daily one.
For the duration, you understand the literal meaning
of any language that you hear or see signed.
You also understand any written language.
Okay, you can understand this thing, Rowan.
The spell sort of very primitively translates
and you just hear,
Landwalkers, die painful death.
Deep Mother will make you suffer.
You have spelled blood.
Okay, right.
Kill.
Death to Landwalkers, death.
Stop.
Hello.
Right.
You will suffer great pain.
The Deep Mother will torture you in the darkened abyss.
For centuries you will become one of us. Yes, yes, yes the Deep Mother will torture you in the darkened abyss for centuries.
You will become one of us.
Yes, yes, yes.
Deep Mother?
Deep Mother, yes.
Okay.
Obviously I'm saying it the same back.
Can I speak back?
It's just comprehending, isn't it?
Yeah.
Mentioning Deep Mother,
they really don't like land walkers.
Okay. Death, death.
Kill. Right.
Bad, bad.
No convincing. Bad, bad, bad, no convincing.
Can you ask it a question or?
I can't speak back.
I can only understand.
Okay.
Is it technically a beast?
No, it's a thing, it's a person.
Okay.
It's a creature.
That's a human being.
Yeah, it's a sentient creature.
Yeah, it's not a beast.
I think there is no convincing, no diplomacy here.
It's fully converted.
Yeah, yeah.
Okay.
So what do we do?
We can't let it go.
Why not?
Agamox will crush you in his great pincer.
Agamox will crush you.
You will die a painful death.
You will die a painful death. Can you ask it how the spelling out is? Sorry, Agamox will crush us. You will die a painful death.
A die a painful death.
Can you ask it how it is spelling out?
Sorry, Agamox, yes.
Could you, I can't speak.
You can't speak, sir.
Can't ask it how it's spelled.
Agamox.
Can I try recreat, I'm just hearing common, aren't I?
Yeah, it's like your brain is translating.
Yeah, so I can't even try and repeat what they said back.
Oh, I see, yeah.
You can try, but it's very difficult.
I'm not gonna.
Angomox, something like that.
Right, right, right, right, right.
Great pincer.
So a bigger, probably a bigger one.
Maybe Doomclaw.
Oh, yes.
A lot's happened between now and when we picked up the quest.
Anything else?
Do you want to go?
Well, we can't, I don't think we should let it go.
I think it's just gonna go back
and they were fleeing for a reason, right?
It looks very in pain, so.
Then we'll just end its suffering.
Yeah, just think of it like food.
That didn't help at all.
That did not help.
Well, I'll look the other way,
and if someone wants to...
Yeah, okay.
I feel a take out veracity.
Do you get close to strike it?
Yeah, why not?
Yeah, I mean, it would just lunge at you
and try and make an unarmed strike against you.
Natural 20.
Oh my god!
What the fuck?
Immediately take off your face.
Why are you like this?
Why are you like this?
That's gonna be seven points of damage.
I'm not raging either, holy shit.
So it like grabs you around the throat or something
and with its clawed hands it's trying to strangle you.
Oh, you're gonna regret doing that.
Oh, yeah.
And then you just finish this thing off.
It's one hit point, it's impaled on a harpoon.
Through the skull.
Is it over?
That was a lot longer than I thought it was going to be.
Oh, my neck.
You can see that this thing has dug these spines,
tethered clawed hands.
I offer a hand.
Even though, oh, you're on the boat?
Yeah, she climbed over the side of it, probably.
Pure wounds.
Oh, thank you.
You've got a little nick there.
Oh, I've got more than a little nick.
I've got plenty of those everywhere.
I'll do it at second level.
That's a good thing there aren't any mirrors on this boat.
48.
Okay, do we think there's any more?
I think I'd rather not know, to be honest.
15.
Thank you very much.
18.
One more, thank you.
That's all my second level's gone. Do we think there's any more of them out there?
Or are we safe to continue?
The ocean's a big place.
They came out of nowhere and we did not see them coming.
I certainly didn't.
So there could be thousands under the water.
Let's try and get to shore.
So Joran is just looking at Gruff.
Before they attacked, we saw on the coastline there,
that's where they've been, well, I presume
that's where they've been busy, there's bodies out there.
Right.
I suggest, Sir Joran, can we sail to the coast
and our point where we saw the bodies?
Yeah, I can pull the suncrest in close to it.
I can't get right the way up, it's too rocky,
but I can get up closer and you can make your way.
It's not too deep once you get to near there.
At least then we'll see them coming.
You are still half a day away from netting on sea.
Oh.
But there is a coastline where we can see some bodies.
I mean, you're following the coastline,
like literally, like on the map here,
you're following the coastline,
and there's just a few scattered bodies
and floats on the rocks nearby.
But the coastline continues on for miles.
Like, you know, it's your following.
This is not our destination, just you.
No, no, no, this is like, you're halfway to netting on sea,
if that is your destination.
But Joanne is just looking at Gruff to what to do.
Perhaps we keep going to netting on sea.
I just worry the more we delay,
the more chance there is of them being attacked.
Get to the source.
It's your decision.
Right, first, before we go,
if you can clear the deck of the bodies,
I want to do a quick surveillance of the coast with Saren,
and then we go, we carry on.
And with that, I'll summon Saren to fly towards this coastline
and just do a kind of cursory look around the bodies and stuff.
Yeah, I mean they look dead.
Hard for Saren to tell, but they certainly
don't appear to be breathing or moving.
There is flotsam and debris scattered all over the place.
Maybe as Saren flies further down the coast,
sort of in the direction you're heading,
you would find a similar sized schooner like a sloop
dashed up against some rocks, split,
you know, it's hull and cargo ripped apart,
just scattered everywhere,
probably befell the same fate that you guys nearly did.
These creatures probably came aboard, killed all the crew,
and then broke the ship, basically.
You don't see, I mean, first of all, up on land,
there's certainly no sign of these creatures
going anywhere close to land.
Okay.
Hard to tell where they came from or what they did.
Are there any caves or anything?
Loads of caves all along the way, but yeah,
it would take you, if you wanted to start searching
all the coastal caves, you would be stopping very regularly.
I would say that would slow you down by,
because you'll have to pull in and camp.
You'd have to, that would probably take you an extra day
to search all the sea caves around here.
I think we continue to netting on sea.
We could search these caves, there's plenty of places
for them to hide, but I just, I've got a feeling
in my stomach we need to get to netting on sea.
Okay, good idea.
All right.
All right, I'll set course.
He'll look over, he's like, Rowan, grab that rope,
grab that sail, you reset this.
Oh, yes, yeah.
Starts putting everyone to work, Daisy, Mateo,
kind of gets everyone helping and pitching in.
Spills some bodies over the edge of the water.
Yeah, I'm assuming you guys have pushed the bodies over
and things like that. He'll point and be like, Mateo, you're the edge of the ring. Yeah, I'm assuming you guys have pushed the bodies over and things like that.
He'll point and be like,
Mateo, you're the one that harpooned that thing.
Get it off my harpoon and reset all of that.
And Mateo's like, me?
Oh, right, I suppose.
And he's like, trying to pull it.
He's like, argh!
He just eventually starts cutting it with the dagger
and trying to break it off.
But eventually he does.
Making a real meal of that.
He makes a real mess of it.
But yeah, eventually you resume course.
Nice.
As you sail.
It will be late evening,
or sort of getting too, you know, sundown
by the time you see Netting-on-Sea.
It's a small little town built along the coast,
parts of it high on some cliffs
and then the rest kind of circling around
to where there is the mouth of a river
that kind of spills out into the sea.
And you can see, you know,
a scattered number of small, simple cottages.
Really, this is a village about the size of Burnell.
This is not a big town.
There is no defensive wall.
There is really just local fisher folk,
maybe a few farmers.
But you can see that there are lights,
there appear to at least be some larger buildings
in the main town as you begin to pull into it.
One thing you would notice just before the last of the light
is all of the houses here are decorated
with old fishing nets that have been recovered
and trinkets and flowers and things like that
have been woven in amongst all the twine
and the elements of the nets, the holes of the nets.
As well as a lot of driftwood sculpture
you would find all about the place.
People that have carved things, built things,
benches and little statues of fish
and figures. And in the middle of the town square, really the sort of main bulk of this little
community, this little hearth community, is a pretty tall, pretty impressive driftwood sculpture,
very beautifully made, depicting the divine Saint Tilan, who is the god or saint
of rivers and healing here.
And you can maybe see just sort of at the top
of the cliff side, a little stone church,
probably dedicated to the Divine Saint himself as well.
And with that, we will bring today's episode to a close.
Oh yeah.
I completely lost track of time.
Yeah, it is that time.
Oh my goodness.
So with that, we will end today's episode, episode 69.
Nice.
Yes.
Ambush from the deep.
Oh.
Episode 69, Ambush from the deep.
Ambush from the deep.
Yeah, the deep.
And that's it for this week. Ambush from the deep. Yeah, the deep. The deep.
And that's it for this week.
Very nice.
Nice one.
Thank you very much for joining us.
We will see you next week for more High Rollers goodness.
Yeah.
The week might be.
Oh yes, because yes.
Might not be.
We'll let you know, but there'll probably,
there'll be something.
There'll be something.
There'll be something, maybe not all day.
It might not be an all fair. We've got some stuff moving around, people doing'll probably, there'll be something. There'll be something. There'll be something, maybe not. It might not be an Alfea.
We've got some stuff moving around,
people doing stuff, so we'll find out.
If there's not an episode, don't be shocked.
Yes.
We'll let you know.
